I don't have a recollection of that morning it was June 15th 2019 and it was a Saturday and I pieced together that I left my apartment down there oh it would have been before 7:00 a.m. to get the hop streetcar right up here and something happened I must have just lost consciousness I I fell right over there just remember that red fire hydrant is on the hop stop at the ramp that day was kind of unusual it's not an area that I'm typically assigned to and that particular morning was rather slow my partner I decided to grab some breakfast over Panera which happened to be an Ogden off of Pham Buren just a couple blocks away from where this call came in that we get a call of a person down and we hear the address and it's just like two blocks I think each of where we were squad's reading dispatch to the intersection or astronaut and first subject down and said more to follow and we made the decision at that point there too since we're just a couple blocks away to respond over there see if we can assist in any way then upon our arrival how we immediately observed individual standing around the victim who was laying there on the concrete officer lorac and I started doing chest compressions on him get a little bit out of them every once in a while not much we continued CPR for some of the neighborhood four minutes or so until the fire department finally arrived on scene and once they arrived on scene they they did take over and they're equipped with automatic external defibrillator an AED and we were able to apply that to the patient and we were lucky enough that we got his heart in the correct rhythm where we were able to actually deliver a shock with the AED on scene and after delivering that shock he had a rhythm again heartbeat again and he was breathing on his own quickly transfer him over to st. Mary's where he remained in ICU for several days as my understanding so I have so many people to be grateful for I'm very grateful to the neighbors here whose me who alerted people to call 9-1-1 I'm so grateful for the officers for being right down the street and responding very quickly and providing CPR to me and immediate attention I think it was the officers though who when they responded they saved my life and so I want to take them officers Brian and Jacob thank you for saving my life
