Today I've traveled way up North Alabama. In fact, I'm in the mountains. Today I'm at Cherokee Rock Village. Not only is this a great place for rock climbing or hiking, but there was also a movie that was filmed here that we'll talk about and we're going to look for the location that they filmed it. But before we get started, I'm going to leave you with this view behind me. [Music] Confist. [Music] [Applause] [Music] In 2006, there was a romantic comedy filmed here which starred Matthew McConnA and Sarah Jessica Parker. The movie was directed by Tom Day. It was titled Failure to Launch. A I'm sure some of you have seen it, some of you maybe not. Look at this amazing cave down here. There's nothing down in here but leaves and broken trees and foliage. junk that slid down this hill over time and rain and wind. This place is absolutely gorgeous with all these rock structures on both sides. [Music] It's kind of cool down here next to these rocks structure there. This small opening down here. [Music] The color is here on this rock. Really cool. [Music] There's big boulders everywhere. [Music] You guys want any carrots? trip. You should call Paula. She wants to see it. That's enough demo. Little slack. Ace. Oh, here you go. Uh-huh. Ble on. You know she's hurting too. She's miserable. trip. Let it go, guys. Hey, [Music] [Music] MC climbing the wall was filmed right here on this wall. I was able to match it up by these trees curved over and these markings on the rocks here at the bottom. He would have been climbing right up this way and when the rope break, it would have flung the other guy up against the rocks right here in front of us. You can see here there's some other people about to tackle climbing this exact same wall. Who wouldn't want to fall down there? The caveis right behind where they filmed that scene at. [Music] You can feel the sand down here at the bottom. And so you know that it was once underwater even in here. [Music] This place is amazing though. The natural beauty [Music] 1997 831 97 Pam Anderson. I dropped my backpack off in the car to lighten up my load a little bit. In the distance there is a fire going on [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Right here behind me is where they filmed the scene where the chipmunk bit Matthew McConnA's hand. There was a tree that was down across the way right here and that's where the chipmunk bit his hand at. He's saying no tree. [Music] Trip, dude. What is he doing? A squirrel. No, it's a chipmunk. Huh? [Music] Watch the bike. Let's time warp back to Gaston now. On one of my earlier trips here, I showed you the Ritz Theater, but they actually have more than one of those classic theaters. They also have the Pitman Theater, but I'm not here to talk about the Pitman Theater. I am here to talk about this building behind me. This building here behind me, it was the building for the bicycle shop in failure to launch. At that time, it had just closed down as Jim's Barbecue. As a fun nod from the producers to Jim's Barbecue, the firearms dealer has gems embroidered on the outside of his shirt. Scene is only in the movie for just a minute, but there's a shot with all the bicycles hanging around everywhere in Matthew McConna sitting where you can see out of this window right here. I'm in uncharted waters here, boys. The ultimate professional. What's going on? Now, let's time warp back to Cherokee Rock Village. [Music] best. [Music] I'll give you three. [Music] Laist. Confist. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Allah. [Music] [Applause] This place was great, but we've just about seen it now. This is our third day here in North Alabama. We still have what, three or four more to go. Um, there's something lined up every day. I do want to say that last night we broke 100 subscribers finally. That's amazing. Thank you guys so much for that. I'm traveling good distances to make these videos this entire week here in North Alabama. And uh I want to thank all of you who have made donations either on Patreon or PayPal because you're the reason that we're able to do this. So, thank you all for that. With that being said, I'm going to go ahead and end the video now. I want to thank you all for watching and I'll see you tomorrow with another fun video. [Music] Way up there at the top of the mountain where those rock structures are right here. That's where we were just at. Now we're on the street below it. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Confess. believe [Applause] [Music] the new bull. [Music]
