playing this main job is to help and support the patrol units on the ground we're at a little extra set of eyes up in the sky and we are able to see objects from a greater distance and have a better view of what's going on patrol unit earlier I was able to see directly out front of them where we get a top-down view what's going I'm Deputy Timlin with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office flight unit we have three helicopters they're all a star's French helicopter they are a s 350 we have a brand new one with the actual helicopter now we're going from analog gauges to digital gauges so we're taking a lot of information on spread out over analog Jesus and we're compressing it into just two digital gauges with the new system we can fly it about 1,500 feet and get a high-definition picture based on the image on the ground the infrared will actually take up thermal images instead of IR light the camera gives a nice high-definition picture based on the actual temperatures of images so our old spotlight was a just a point-and-shoot spotlight with the new system it actually has geo point where it can actually if you put an address into the system it'll stay on that address or intersection or whatever you need lit up the spotlight will stay on that as you're orbiting we're flying around such cases we actually get involved there missing children missing elderly adults will help locate them we also do stolen vehicles we can follow vehicles and a patrol unit locates that might be stolen but we can track that from the skies where a patrol you don't want to have to pursue or fault and give away his position we can track from the sky without anybody knowing
