yeah you're being 100% recorded in live feed okay this cop intentionally tried to interfere with a man's right to record by trying to Blind his camera with a flashlight he had seen other videos at night of officers doing this to Blind People's cameras essentially making it so that you can't record anything now fortunately for this police officer he was actually too stupid to even be able to violate this guy's rights even though he tried because he fails to realize that it's daytime and the flashlight and the camera doesn't work during the day I called the department got a hold of the sergeant himself and started asking questions uh when it comes to policy I'm not to be perfectly honest I'm not allowed to to give a direct statement to anybody about anything regarding something I did but it easily can go through the pio's office or Internal Affairs the pi oh no no no I wanted to talk to you directly I mean I don't I don't go and snitch on people you know what I mean I'm not trying to go to your you know your high-ups and try and snitch on you or something he then proceeded to spend the next 5 minutes giving me direct statements about everything he did did so I'm not allowed to to give a direct statement to anybody about anything regarding something I did yeah yeah you're not kidding like it's one of those like really why would I why would I do that other than I was thinking oh maybe this could do something obviously it didn't so it didn't matter but yeah just trying to teach us gentlemen what you know what right and wrong is in terms of public decency oh make YouTube videos as a matter of fact this is the first one he's ever uploaded he just happened to see some heavy police activity in front of his own house in Las Vegas and decided to record now it appears to be a guy who's possibly having some type of mental crisis but the cameraman's goal is not to exploit the man's crisis it's to put the cameras on the police right here like how he tries to block my camera the cops are trying to pretend that they're providing privacy for the man that they're pinning to the ground call me cynical but I don't actually think they care about this man or his privacy at all I think that with all the crimes they commit on a regular basis they just don't want to make a habit of letting people watch what they do even if what they're doing at this very moment isn't wrong like to point out so you are free to do this yes I am sir see if people didn't record people own business this would be a problem yeah well I'm on my property I can do what I want and so can I cuz I'm on a public sidewalk yes sir you are you ever think about doing something else you ever think about minding your own business I am that's why I get paid to be out of here ah why don't more of a Stringer type thing and I've run into you on a few scenes before you you remember or no no I I I can't remember to be honest okay um well one of my buddies was was uh recording an incident uh with it looked like a mental patient possibly that you guys were dealing with in his neighborhood on October 10th do you remember that not my head but I mean today's my Thursday but the Stars I mean I'm sure if I saw the video but to be perfectly honest this this this this question sounds like something should be going through pio's office the Pio oh no no no I wanted to talk to you directly I mean I don't I don't go and snitch on people you know what I mean I'm not trying to go to your you know your higher-ups and try and snitch on you or something I just wanted to talk to you about it because you and I have always gotten along just fine and obviously you don't remember me but you you've never been indecent to me so you know I I thought that what you were doing there was a little out of line but I I just wanted to talk to you about it cuz I figured maybe you didn't understand what this guy's intent was and maybe you all just misunderstood each other I yeah I mean I when it of um I my my basic statements were more or less trying to to help this gentleman understand that you know this the the the mental issue or the uh the issue in question was I mean this guy was you know he's having his worst possible day on record um and yes even though I completely understand that it is within this guy's rights to film and he is absolutely rally to and it's why he wasn't stopped from filming um but since I you know it's also in my right to possibly you know attempt to predict this guy's you know well-being and give him some form of decency he's going through a terrible moment in his life and he needs the police to show up and recording him isn't gonna make anything better yeah and I get that I've been out on a lot of calls I you know a lot of calls I mean fatality calls you know some really nasty stuff just like you have right um and I I hope that you understand though that it is our job to document that stuff and I can see your perspective of of trying to basically protective I mean I don't think that I don't know if this guy had done anything criminal or not but I I definitely can get your perspective but I also would like you to know how bad it makes you look because here's the thing most of these a lot of these guys are out there recording the police to try to look for some sort of accountability towards police and their goal isn't really to record the other individual uh or the the person that you're dealing with and a lot of them you'll see will even blur out people when they upload footage right um and so I I don't know I just I I definitely get your perspective if it were my family member or myself having my worst day I don't want to be put on blast on the internet but that really wasn't what this guy's goal was it was watching the police and had you not approached him he never even would have uploaded this video cuz but would have been eventless does that make sense yeah no I and I I don't disagree I just you know at some point in time I think the world needs to understand that you know um I mean I I am totally for holding cops accountable I am all for it but I mean it's it's like these you know we have uh you know I was on a um on a crash in dtec and this you know the first thing that this lady does on scene is start filming like why would you do just whip out your phone and start filming why wouldn't you walk up to make sure he was okay sure you know why why can't we as you know as decent human beings take care of each other rather than oh I could be internet famous I got to put this on there I gotta you know I mean hold the cops accountable all day there's nothing wrong with it I'm all for it because it makes us better but why can't we just be decent human beings first well well I appreciate you chatting with me um hopefully I won't see you do this again but yeah I mean don't get me wrong like after it occurred I'm like that was not my proudest moment I don't I don't regret what I said um or the circumstances but hind that being 2020 obviously uh you know things be done differently all right the uh the whole light in the camera yeah yeah you're not kidding like it's one there's guys like me who go out and do it all the time on a regular basis this isn't a guy who does that he uh he just happened to see you guys in front of his house and he had been taught when you see police record police he didn't even know what was going on he didn't he didn't even intend to upload it unless something went horribly wrong and you know it turns out this gu you this guy mysteriously died in custody you know it was simply and that's what I actually teach people is turn the camera on when you see police record them I I tell them all the time you can always blur things out later you can even delete footage but if you don't turn your camera on then when they shoot somebody in the back of the head you missed it you don't get to go back in time and re-record it but you can always edit stuff later and like I said like honestly like I agree like hold this accountable I mean it it makes the only thing that that holding us accountable will do is make us better yeah yeah well I'm glad that you see that what you did wasn't the best thing in the world because most cops have a very difficult time admitting that they didn't make the best choice and we all screw up man
