I wanted to uh apply for a job as a police officer can I have someone help me fill out the application okay do you know if they have open positions now or should I just apply for the chief position it looks like there's benefits there too can we look at that yeah this is our benefits page that's a lot of words at what point in my training and and when I get out on my own or whatever will I be like unaccountable to the law what do you mean like to where I can like do things that um citizens can't do like hurting other people and not getting in trouble I don't see that being in there any of their training um is it in the benefits package you know recently I've discovered that the battle to try to keep government employees accountable to the law the same way that the rest of us are is an uphill losing battle and I started to realize if you can't beat them join them and I headed down to Los cruus to apply for a job as a police officer hey do you know where I could get a job application job application we do all of our hiring online oh I don't have online oh I can give you the I can give you the um email address or the site can I use one yeah the city yeah City Hall has computers okay can I use one of your computers to do oh I'm sorry okay are you hiring police officers we're hiring all kinds of positions in the city right now is there a sergeant or someone that could come out and talk about it um anybody that's here right now are right now we have um anybody that's at work right now they're actually um out on the street okay all the police are out doing police stuff yeah so actually um you would have to I could call for an officer to come and talk to you but I can't guarantee it okay yeah I mean it's the time of the day sure we can yeah we can call I mean I I wouldn't want to take them off a call if they're busy like you know shooting some woman in the back for running away or something I don't want to pull them away from that um but if uh yeah if they're not busy with anything like that then no we don't have anybody in right now okay uh but uh let me see so it turns out you don't actually apply to be a police officer at the police department but police show up to the wrong address all the time so I feel like I'm off to a good start and proving that I'm the right man for the job Human Resources hell hey how you doing all right how about yourself how can I help you I wanted to uh apply for a job as a police officer okay um but I'm dyslexic and I wanted to see if we could use one of your computers and have someone help me fill it out we got a computer right here sure no I'm not actually dyslexic and I don't think it's funny to make fun of people with disabilities but I'm trying to get a job as a police officer here therefore I need to prove that I'm the type of person that they like to hire first I showed up to the wrong address second I told a lie now I've proven that I'm both incompetent and dishonest they're probably going to let me skip the academy and hand me a gun before I even walk out of the building can I can I have someone help me fill out the application okay all right so these are all our open position uh so do I hit search yeah you can hit search I'm not really dyslexic I just have a really hard time reading oh no problem we could look in there okay so I hit search yeah and then we could look under police and that's what we got for police cadet police chief you would you like to to apply for a police CIT um what's the chief salary it's 123 oh $3,531 and it could be up to 8,419 182 so and what is and that's the and this is hourly for the police could is that and that's two it's 20 2020 okay um which one do you think I should apply for should I start with the little one and try to work my way up um we recommend on depending on you you know if you were a police officer or different things on what your experience is and um okay do you know if they have open positions now or should I just apply for the chief position if you like that that's totally up to you I mean I'd rather be a Cadet because I I think I think that the Chief usually does like office stuff right and I would really rather be out on the streets like roughing people up and stuff rather than in an office just like I said this is going to be the the nature of the work so this is going to be for the cadet so they're going to go in and they're going to do the training okay and so they they'll give me the training I don't have to come in with with the knowledge right well they have different levels it looks like there's benefits there too can we look at that yeah a benefit um and then we click right here to give you a little summary and this is our benefits page that's a lot of words yeah and and this is just going to be so the benefits program the city of the Las crusis employee benefits program cool so yeah the life insurance and all that health insurance that's good stuff I got bad teeth I got a I got a sugar addiction I hav't I haven't had Dental in a while but sorry um sorry I'm shaking a little bit I'm so nervous I haven't applied for a job in a long time um so with the benefits and like the training and stuff like at what point um do um at what point in my training and and when I get out on my own or whatever will I be like unaccountable to the law what do you mean like to where I can like do things that um citizens can't can't do like hurting other people and not getting in trouble that's but like I say you're going to be H you're going to take their training you're going to deal with them and you know um I don't see that being in their any of their training um is it in the benefits package then did there's the benefits is going to be your health your dental and your vision all through this the city and you know we have other different opportunities I mean different benefits that are listed on there okay that's not a benefit for nobody okay just okay like not in writing or something like at all oh for okay but so like I said if you want to if you want to look on there and you can look if that's what you find on there or anything but again that's not part of their training they do have their their training they go through as a police cadet and if you'd like more uh information on their training you can get a hold of them as far as we don't have the in depth but it you so I'll find out about those benefits like after my training and stuff and after like probably in private with the chief in the office or something is that kind of what you mean by no that's not good like I said the benefits is going to be as as far as your dental vision and those kind of benefits City benefits and not any of such that but uh um again and I could help you if you want to uh do if you do want to fill out application we could help you out um I'm feeling like super nervous right now I'm probably going to go and take one of my anti-anxiety things um and then do you guys close soon yeah we do close at 5 o'cl okay um I'll probably go take an I'm like shaking I haven't applied for a job in so long I've been living at my mom's house and stuff um but maybe I'll do some anti-anxiety medicine and then I'll come back tomorrow and and fill it out with you we're here open up and then we can where the benefits are I can go ahead and help you through this process if you like go ahead and uh come back tomorrow okay and we can go through it and I get so shaky my hands and my fingers and everything gets shaky but yeah no like I said we're here to help if you need any help filling out the application that's what we're here for we'll go down and we if you need help uh reading or anything like that I'm more than happy to help you go down through there and we can like I said uh go through anything you like if there's any other positions you may be uh interested in that's what we got I I mean I don't mean to like make it weird or something but I really wanted the police position because I wanted to be able to do bad things and not get in trouble and I don't know if like where we end up finding out when you know I don't know I guess it's something we don't talk about openly or is that what you're talking about at all sir cuz like I said again I'm sorry I didn't I didn't mean to make it weird then no like I said I again I can help you through here if you like
