I'm sorry. You're going to have to turn off the camera. You're not allowed to film up here. >> Oh, really? >> At all? >> Sorry. No, at all. >> Hey, >> please turn it off. >> The citation number. Do I put that? >> No, that's not true. Ma'am, >> I can't. Do I put that here or here? >> You, sir, if you're filming, >> this is what I need to hear. >> I'm telling you to leave. Mark, get your friends out of here. Yeah, you >> I don't know that. >> I don't care. >> What? Why are you yelling at me? because I have told you to leave and you're not leaving. >> I just came and do an open records report. I don't even know you. You don't even know me. >> Yeah. >> A few months ago, my buddy Patrick was arrested in the hallway at the Tucson City Courthouse, which also houses a whole bunch of other Tucson City offices. He was arrested for recording a police officer in the hallway. I went with him to the city attorney's office to record him trying to get discovery for the trial that's coming up for that arrest. I promise I won't go into the boring legislation and rules too much, but just to give context into what's going on. The Supreme Court of Arizona has made rules, not laws, but rules regulating photography and video inside of courouses. Their rules state that photography, audio, and video recording are allowed in courouses with some restrictions. Again, I won't go into the boring details, but the rules are very similar to just about every other courthouse in the United States, and for the most part, they are very reasonable. So, these guys in Tucson have decided to obey these rules except that they still record government employees and police officers with or without their consent in the public areas. These guys have been arrested for doing this multiple times. Mark Brown appealed one of his cases and got a ruling from a higher court saying, "No, these guys can definitely record government employees in public areas in the courthouse." Mark Brown and others have returned to the courthouse recording with this ruling in their hands and been arrested with it in their hands. So, in response to the ruling that says you can't keep arresting people for recording government employees in public areas, the city of Tucson made their own administrative order and called it administrative order 50-4. It basically says legislators and courts don't get to decide what we can or can't do. We'll make the rules for ourselves. It basically uses six pages to say if you record our city employees and they don't like it, you can be trespassed from the building charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, and harassment. But even that arbitrary order, as unlawful as it is, on page 2, paragraph 3, sentence 2, says this order does not extend to offices at a court facility occupied by non-cort agencies such as specifically city or county attorney office, city clerk, or public defender. The following video was shot inside of the city attorney's office, which is specifically mentioned in this bogus order to begin with as exempt from the bogus order. >> I'm sorry. You're going to have to turn off the camera. You're not allowed to film up here. >> Oh, really? >> At all? >> Sorry. No, at all. >> Hey, >> please turn it off. >> The citation number. Do I put that? >> No, that's not true, ma'am. >> I can't. Do I put that here or here? >> I got I got it right here. >> Is that true, Mark? >> No. like I have >> even under their uh >> even under their uh administrative order that they wrote for us to follow even that says we can go in the prosecutor's office the the defenders. Of course, that ain't true. >> Unless I say >> that's right. >> You don't I you don't have my permission to record me. >> Then you have to stop or you'll go to hell. I >> think you go straight to hell. watch for the security footage from this court and uh that's what they told me. >> Are you filming? >> Hey Alan, of course he is. What are you doing, Alan? >> What the hell, man? >> What are you doing? We can record every time we want. You want >> I You know, say hi to Vernon. >> Okay. >> But you got to stop recording, man. No, no, you don't. >> Okay, I'm calling >> Oh, no. Don't call one. >> Make up your mind whether or not you want to deal with security. But I'm calling security now. >> All right. I can't only know but what? >> Not only. >> Hey, bud. You already know, Alan, that we're already doing this. Can you hear me? >> I can't. >> I'm telling you. >> Can you open the door? I can't hear you. >> Oh, here. Let me help. >> I'm telling you to leave. Mark, get your friends out of here. Yell. I don't know. >> I don't care. >> What? Why are you yelling at me? I'm >> Because I have told you to leave and you're not leaving. >> I just came to do an open records report. I don't even know you. You don't even know me. >> Yeah. You >> came up to cause trouble.
