Albuquerque police chief Harold Medina was involved in a crash this weekend when he ran through a red light smashing into an innocent motorist he claims he was trying to get away from gunfire the chief noticed uh two individuals who started uh they got into a fight a physical altercation with each other he noticed that one of them brandished a gun uh one person kicked the other individual and that individual started firing shots in the direction of where the chief was in his truck so apparently Chief Harold Medina's official story is that on Saturday morning he was down in southeast Alba kque a wonderful place to pick up drugs and prostitutes don't ask me how I know he claims he saw two people fighting and one of them pulled out a gun and fired shots like a Uvaldi police officer in an attempt to get away from the gunfire and save only himself he blasted into an intersection on a red light smashing into an innocent motorist somehow the man the chief alleges was fired at at almost Point Blank Range escaped unharmed as did everybody else except the life that Herald Med Dina risked to save his own the driver of the Mustang that he plowed into while blasting through the intersection on a red light was sent to the hospital in critical condition this is the same Chief Herold Medina who sat next to Governor Michelle Luhan Grisham a few months ago while she announced that she was suspending the right of law-abiding citizens to carry firearms in the City of Albuquerque when a journalist asked if she really thinks that criminals are going to obey this new rule she said no of course not but of course if a criminal does commit a crime against you with a fire you can always call Albuquerque Police Department to come and help you in my experience copatching in Albuquerque over the last 3 years the minimum time for a police response is about 20 minutes but this minimum time applied to Priority calls such as shots fired calls if there wasn't an active shooter you'd wait at least 8 to 12 hours for a police response if they showed up at all but the head of the Department chief Harold Medina proved on Saturday that even if he's present when the crime happens when the shots are fired he'll run like hell so the governor wants to take away firearms from law-abiding citizens and when shots are fired Chief Harold Medina will risk your life to save his own and Albuquerque mayor Tim Keller will praise him for his cowardice this is above and beyond what you expect from a chief and I'm grateful for Harold Medina that is the worst way I ever want to start a day it's the call one of those types of calls that I dread we have no idea what mayor Tim Keller is talking about when he says that Chief Medina went above and Beyond by risking the lives of the public to save his own our best guess is that maybe mayor Tim Keller found his fair share of drugs in Southeast Albuquerque before he did that interview but there's something not right about Chief Medina's story in the first place what was he doing down there in the first place and why was he the only one that feared for his life and ran like hell and in light of recent events there's always the question were any shots actually fired at all or is it possible that an acorn fell on a car on Monday I headed out out to Albuquerque to talk to Albuquerque police officers and see if I could get some of these questions answered were you working on Saturday either one of you guys during the day during the day yeah were you did you work uh Harold Medina's car crash no no that that was a Southeast deal we that's why I was I was looking for Southeast guys today but I no not here brother seems like they don't even come out so did you hear about Chief Medina's accident yeah we did did you hear the news report on it no no I haven't I honestly I try to stay away from articles and news I get enough of it out here sure try to switch it off when I go home all right yeah just uh seems weird you know seems weird yeah um I guess he said he he uh saw a gun and he heard a gunshot I didn't even know there was a gunshot yeah I don't know he he I guess he said he was sitting in the in the car at the intersection with his wife and saw two guys fighting on the sidewalk and then one guy pulled a gun and shot him the other guy in order to get away from the gunfire yeah he he just gunned it and smashed into some innocent person but you know what I'm wondering though and I would I mean you know every man for himself I guess right you know just hear gunfire that's not why we do this but I think you never know what it's like to be in someone's mindset time and something like that's going on so I can't really speak on it you know I I know yeah I just you know I'm just kind of Wonder was it a gunshot or was it an acorn you know what I mean oh like we saw that video Yeah was I mean could could it have been an acorn is the question luckily I don't think there's any acorns I don't like down in this area I don't think that they're native to this part but squirrels could have brought them in though maybe from outside yeah I'd love to ask Medina himself but he every time I try to find him he runs and hides Keller too that I can't speak on either I don't make their snip rules I'm sure that they're busy guys he's probably afraid I'm coming in with acorns am I right you know just he's like I I we got a tip this guy's got got a pocket full of acorns I love your Healthy trolling healthy trolling ever since Medina took over we've personally from our perspective from the people's perspective we think seen things go downhill from encrypting the radios to um you know starting to arrest and push people back with cameras again and I know it's not everybody but it just seemed like man all of a sudden when there's a new head the fish started stinking I think it's a difficult position I think our job's a difficult job I think the public has a difficult job too because we got all got to hold each other accountable um I think the collective effort you the public all of us I can't speak on the mayor and the chief shop because I don't know what it's like to do that yeah I I imagine it's extremely difficult it's very financially rewarding there there could be there's definitely some Financial incentive but however I think it's a difficult job and I think all of us holding accountable each other accountable things are going to get better Hi how are you I'm fine how are you I'm good um I have some um like um experience here at this place like what kind of experience um that's I mean I've been in and out of that place before a long about a while back about do you live here right now no no it's been about 6 months since I'm just going to say cuz we can't let anyone in right now it's been a long time since I've been over here dude okay but I know some people that used to live here and stuff like that and I'm just I'm familiar with how they keep their their um room and how their tenants are you know they're sloppy they're dirty they're nasty they're gross there a lot ofand I think the place is pretty much evacuated these are like the main tenants that are left oh really what's going on it up what happening uh we just got a little bit of an emergency right now we had to evacuate the building that's why fire is here just making sure everyone's safe there was a fire or something yeah Oh I thought maybe somebody was hiding or something no no we wouldn't have people out here like this oh really yeah no just just an emergency no one's no one's hurt at this point in time there's no crime that's been committed we just we have we have an issue that we have we have to deal with all right oh cuz somebody sto my phone earlier where did that happen and it happened um right there I gas St right there did you call police I didn't and then you know the government phones those free phones yeah well I tried to get a free one of those they said somebody already has one in my name and so I called their number to try to get it disconnected and they're sitting there saying they act like they don't understand English the Chinese people and they won't disconnect it so they have one under my name they will not disconnect and I just don't know what to do about that now I'm not using it but they're using it under my name they won't turn it off am I in the way you're fine will not turn it off and I'm getting really bugged with that I'm sorry what you can do is you can make a call for service St we're going to be it's going to be a little bit though cuz we're all tied up with this right now if you want to after we finish this I'll come and talk with you I'll about that you going to beat well I'm trying to get this truck from Ala toing it's 1500 DOD Ram it's um they want, 1500 for it and I I got $1,000 on it right now because I found some lights in the Home Depot trash and I sold him to Ed Mont my auntie's boyfriend owns that property down there you yeah but he so you're just $500 away yeah but he he said now he wants to only give me 500 when he owes me a th000 and he's being really weird about some man and where's the at over mon okay avoiding me she won't talk to me for more than 5 minutes I don't I just don't know what they're hiding bro and I don't know if my kids are okay officer I live here am I able to get in unfortunately so to sum things up Chief Herold Medina sat next to Governor Grisham in support of disarming law-abiding citizens in Albuquerque with the promise that the police would keep us all safe then when shots were allegedly fired while the head of the police department was present not only did he not keep people safe but he risked the lives of everyone else to try to keep himself safe the only person in the entire incident that was injured is the person the chief of police injured other than the driver from this buting no one else was hurt and mayor Tim Keller showed up to praise the chief for his actions this is above and beyond what you expect from a chief and I'm grateful for Herold Medina and to top it all off this chick wants a bait car I didn't need a bait car in a way you know I can help
