You're okay, man. You're doing a good job. Just You're shaking, though. Just take some deep breaths. You're going to be fine. You're upsetting me, and that's what you want. Well, don't be a drama queen. You're going to be [Applause] Hey everybody, it's James Freeman out here with the crew at Guerilla Publishing. We got Ron Durban, we got Lee Durban. We're going to go ask for some records in here. What's that? What do we need to get from the request? Um, the investigation report. City clerk. Okay. Request for what? Do you have an appointment? No. No. You ran back to the door and have an appointment. You can't go You can't do records requests without a appointment. So, the only thing we were even here for is a records request for the last 20 uses of force from the police department. The reason is because when we read these reports, we can find possible red flags and then dig deeper to find police misconduct. We made no attempt whatsoever to speak with this security guard, but headed straight to the clerk's office where we make our requests. We found that the clerk's office was locked and that the security guard was the gatekeeper who wouldn't allow us in. The Oklahoma Open records act says that there must be someone at all times during regular business hours to take our open records requests. But the doors are locked and the security guard is telling us that he's the gatekeeper that will prevent us from getting records. We were truly expecting to be in and out of this building in a matter of minutes. We didn't expect anything to go wrong. And this is why you always record your government. Whether you think something is gonna go wrong or not. Unless you guys have an appointment, you're not allowed through the door. I can't hear you, ma'am. What's that? I said if you don't have an appointment, you're not allowed through the doors. What doors? Those doors or these doors or those doors? Well, the open record act says that I can come in anytime during regular business hours and request open records without an appointment. So, I mean, that's what the law says. Yeah. So, what do what do you want to do? So, you're saying So, are you just saying we can't get any public records today? I'm not saying you can't huh you're saying we can't get them done. So we can't get the records because you can't record. We need to do an open record after class. We need the We need the records for We need the So we need You guys have your You guys can do what you want. So So what we need, you know, you can't film people without consent. I need no consent to film me. So what we need I need you to turn your phone off cuz without my consent you can't film it. So it's not film. It's all digital. So what we need? No, there's no film in there. Film is film is from the '90s. This is all digital. So what we need though is uh we need to answer. No, it goes into the RAM and then to the cash and then save. All right. Have a good night. So I'm not going to assist you unless you turn phones off. Oh, okay. So, all we need is the uh last 20 uh use of force report force. That's all we need from the police department. Is this not the police? Is this the city or the police? The police department's in here as well, right? Police department's over there. Okay. I thought I thought you shared a building with them. Okay. Can we get the same building? That's fine. But the city still holds the We also need a copy of the the employee handbook for here. I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I'm going to get a hold of the city manager and have him come down and talk to you cuz you guys are obviously aren't going to listen to me turning your phones off. Uh, no. Which is fine. That's an unlawful request. So, not with me. You can't film me without my Oh gosh. Is that Oh, I didn't realize. Is that the law? Well, well, can you can you show without my without my consent? I'm so sorry. I should have brought a lawyer. Is that I I didn't know I couldn't record you. Should I just turn it off? I would ask you to turn it off. Should I just delete the footage, too, or you guys? I tell you what. I'm just wondering if I should delete it. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not going to argue with you, okay? Cuz I know that's what you want. Well, I really just want my records. But you No, you want If you let us get our records, we would leave. Yeah. Okay. I'm last last 20 use of force. Okay. That's all. Please get the phones out of my face. Last 20. Please remove the phones out of my face. Nobody's in your face. There's at least three feet. Nobody's in your face. You guys are something else. You know what? Can you just get us our records? I'm gonna I'm gonna get somebody to help you out. Don't be disorderly. I need you to calm down. I said don't be disorderly. I need you to calm down. Calm down. Calm down. You guys deescalate. Just the last 20 minutes of force. I'm not doing anything. I'm just sitting here. You're okay. You're okay. You're okay. Just There you go. See here. Look. Take and you got this. You got this. I know. He's touching us for no reason. I agree. For no reason. You guys are something else. You know what? You're all right, bro. Just take some deep breaths and then No, I just make your call. You'll be okay. I'm not sure who I want to call. You said city manager was who you I'm trying to think then. Please get that out of my face. It's not in your face. It's literally in mine. Can you record where my phone is at, please? So that it's perfectly clear where where it's at. So it's not in his face. That's fine. That's fine. It records you. Good. Yeah. There we go. That' be You can't film without consent. No, you're good. Go ahead and film it. If you're going to be smart about it, you can leave. Oh, really? You want him to leave? Oh, the treasury. Okay, let me see. Do you want him to leave? I want you to get the camera away from my face. Can't even. You can be a certain If you want to stand over there and film, that's fine. But please move the camera away from my face in my desk. I can't pick up the audio from back there. Did I say please? I can't get the What did I say? I can't get the If you you can get the plenty. This is a loud room. So, if you would stand over there, you can film all you want, but please remove it from my desk. Look, I don't tell you how to do your job. Don't tell me how to do my job. I'll call the police and have them come. I'm the film and audio guy. Okay? You're the security guy. You be the security guy. I'm asking you to move it away from my desk. But I'm the film and audio guy who knows where I need to get the shot from. I'll be the film and audio guy. You be the security guy. You're okay, man. You're doing a good job. Just You're shaking, though. Just take some deep breaths. You're going to be fine. You're upsetting me, and that's what you want. Well, don't be a drama queen. You're going to be okay, man. You're going to be okay. Calm down. Calm down. Calm down. Calm down. Calm down. Huh? He won't let us get our public record. No, it's it's okay. No, he's he's just we're just trying to get records. We're just trying to get the records. It's okay. Put the camera away. Oh, I don't care if you film me. You're fine, ma'am. You're You're a sweetheart. You're fine. So there he's we're just trying to get some records, but they and he's not letting us go in for the public records. So it's it's not you. I'm James, by the way. I'm very familiar with this kind of technique. Don't worry. Everything is completely good. Good. Good for you. I'm James, by the way. Well, he said he's not letting us in. And he said we can't film without consent and we can't get records without an appointment. This the security guard just ran away. He slammed his phone down and threw a temper tantrum and left. What? Security guard's gone. I don't know what that means. [Music] You got more people on now. [Music] Thank you so much. The security guard could have and should have just unlocked the door 7 minutes ago, but it appears that for whatever reason, he just wanted to cause some type of scene. know that you will fill out just what I'm going to put out just what I need and my email address. I don't want to fill out all my personally identifying information. Well, we'll need your I'll give you I'll give you my phone number and my email address and y'all can get them to me that way. And then uh the last thing is I want the last 30 body cameras released by the city of Muscogi. That way you don't have to reproduce them or anything. The last 30 that we provided. Yeah. The last 30 that you produced to anybody. That way I you know that way you don't have to go re-review some stuff. I just like to check and see what's going on. And then I'll put my All of a sudden he just opens the door like he should have done in the beginning instead of running his mouth onto a flashlight. What if I bring you a flash drive? Can you put all of them on one flash drive? Well, look, here's the thing. If y'all need to buy some flash drives, as many as you, you know, if you need to get 10 flash drives, it's going to cost me 40. I don't care. Um, but you can also provide them to me electronically, which is what a lot of cities do is they just give me a No, no problem. I can send somebody to get that stuff. Thank you so much. That's my email address. Hey, I I He just walked in though. I've been kind of sitting out there for like 7 minutes waiting for them to open the door. Is it normally just locked down like this? Yes. Yeah, they do. Okay. Can we let the security guard know next time that when someone comes? Because he was just lo he was just losing his mind on us that we wanted to do records requests and he wouldn't let us in. I don't know if you knew that we were trying to come in. I figured you probably didn't know and it was just him after how nice you've been. I'm like they couldn't have known. No, but he was telling us you can't come in here. You can't You have to have an appointment to make a records request. Can't come in is to come past here. Sure. I I guess that door though wouldn't open. Did I just have to push the button? The lady has a button at her desk and it opens it. Okay. All right. He was saying he wouldn't let us in without an appointment. So that was the security guard. Anyways, that's cool. I appreciate the other floors to get to their office. You have to have an appointment and it makes sense, you know, but records is right, right? All right. Thank you, ladies. Bye. [Music] And Larry, you need to know. He walked you out of the court clerk's office, right? Yeah. So, just so you know, the court clerks told me that we do not have to have an appointment to uh get records. So, if you could quit telling people that lie, that would be really cool. I really need you to stop lying to people, Chen. in the city of Mexico. But but don't get mad again. But don't but don't get mad again. All right. Thank you. No, they're just being harassed and they're chasing their They're filming. Larry, tell them what we're doing. Larry, they're filming in a building. Why'd you call the cops, Larry? Of course.
