[Applause] [Music] This is my Max Headroom. And what you're about to witness is one of the most sinister sounding intros to a trailer to one of the greatest epics ever produced in the history of television. There's more because you are going to see it as well. Welcome to Facts or Frauds. Now, let's head to Texas, check in on our friend Shaggy Hippie, who does not want to renew his motorcycle registration because of insurance, but gets pulled over anyway. I've come here today to do something. I'm not here voluntarily doing it. I'm here doing it under duress. That's dur sess. I'd I'd advise you to go look it up and see what I'm talking about. They're going to threaten me with more fines, possibly more jail time. I ain't got time for that. And I'm trying to live my life as a as an American. Be free. >> So why not register your motorcycle so you can be free and head on down the road? >> Yes. cuz I was trying to uh renew my registration for my motorcycle. I never got no uh paperwork or nothing on it. >> You didn't get a renewal notice? >> No, ma'am. I did not. >> Let's see. Are you fixing? >> Okay. Let me go get Christie real quick. We'll pull it up. >> Okay. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Okay. Can you pull us a 5 registration? >> You have your ID, please? >> Oh, yeah. I actually got that on me today. >> Great. >> I don't carry it often, but I actually got it on me today. Thank you. >> You said that the I talked to you a while back. I had overgrown hair and big old beard. >> Okay. >> Maybe you recognize me now. >> Sure. >> Okay. Uh you said that the state of Texas requires registration and they set the prices on this that and the other. Is there any way I can put in a public information request to find out exactly what the state of Texas is is requiring to be charged >> for each kind of registration or >> Yes, ma'am. For each for each kind? I'd like to know it all. >> I think we have a fee chart that we could give you. >> Oh, I would like to get that if I could. >> Uh, sir, what address uh what zip code is the car registered at? Please, >> I'm sorry, your motorcycle underneath your name. That's going to be um what? 662 >> 5662. >> Mhm. >> Thank you. >> That's going to be the melon address for any melon to be delivered, of course. >> Is it a 2006 or 2022 >> 06? >> Thank you. Do you have your insurance on you about you? >> I do not. >> I will actually need that in order to process >> within the transportation code. says that I need to provide my insurance whenever there's an accident. >> Okay. It's ask the the state system is asking us to verify your insurance manually. >> Don't y'all do that already? >> It Well, there's a system. There's an insurance system that pulls up and if you're if your insurance shows current in the system, it would tell us, but it's not showing here. It's asking us to verify it manually. >> So, we have to voluntarily come in here and show you something without there ever being a clause for it to be shown. So, it's insurance is required for registration by the state. >> I don't think you understood what I said. Uh, I said that we had to voluntarily come in here to show insurance when there hasn't been a cause of damage shown. Right. >> Correct. Insurance is required >> and that would be an amendment of the constitution or not. So if it's not voluntarily cuz I'm trying to register it as as under duress cuz I'm here under duress under threats of taxation imprisonment force of control force of whatever. So >> well the state system that does registration where we're required to process it >> will not allow us to process until your insurance is verified manually. And that's what it's saying here is it's not showing up in the regular insurance system. So what kind of financial responsibilities would you accept? >> An insurance card, a current insurance uh >> so the only financial responsibility that you'll accept is an insurance card. >> That's correct. Current insurance. >> Okay. >> Must be provided. >> All right. Have a good one. >> Yep. >> Many unbearable hours later. How's it going? I'm stopping you. You know what the speed limit is on 135? >> Uh, what? How fast was I going? You're at 55 and when you pass me, you're at 82. >> You know what the speed limit is? >> Do you have me on radar? I do have you. Can I look at it? I'm not going to show you my radar right now. I have two devices. One that records on audio radar and then I got video proof of it. Okay. >> Okay. >> Do you have your driver's license on you and everything? >> I six. I'm from the Republic of Texas. >> Okay. Do you have anything showing that you? >> I don't. >> Okay. Do you have a motorcycle endorsement? >> I'm not answering no questions without my attorney present. >> Okay. Do you have proof of insurance? >> That's a question that I'm not going to answer without my attorney present. >> Okay. Well, hang tight. Just hang on your motorcycle. I'll be right back with you. Okay. >> I'm not hanging on to it. I'm standing here. >> Okay. You can stand there if you want to. >> Well, get the dash cam cuz I flipped the cop off. I'm pretty sure that's the reason why he turned around on me. >> Okay. Okay. Very good. >> When I'm running the tag on the back, do you have any I know you said you don't want to answer any more questions, but I can't confirm insurance on the back. >> What do you want me to do about it? >> Do you have any proof showing that you have insurance? >> Where's the ax? >> What? Where's the accident? As the penal code, where's the accident? >> What are you talking about? >> Never mind. We'll set it in court. You want to write me a ticket? That's fine. >> Okay, just go ahead and turn around. >> Am I under arrest? >> Yes, you are. >> What am I under arrest for? [Music] >> All right, it's is recording. Please don't turn it off. >> I'm not I'm going to set it up here. Okay. Up here. >> I'm going set it right here. Okay. Do you have any weapons or anything on you right now? >> I don't answer questions. I mean, you can clearly see there's one on my head. >> Okay. I don't consent to no searches or >> I know a search engine to arrest account. I'm just getting everything out of your pocket. You have a firearm. I want to disarm you from it. Okay. >> Yeah. It is loaded chambered and all that paper. You don't do that. >> What? You don't have it loaded. It's paper weight. I need to get cleaning. It does. and maybe some new ammo. >> Well, the ammo looks like it's from before I was born. >> Yeah, it still fires though. I got a whole crapload of that ammo. >> Good. >> Got a good deal on it. Couldn't pass it up. >> Yeah. So, the only reason I'm getting arrested is for what? Uh, no. No motorcycle endorsement. There's no insurance on the back. I can't confirm it. And you don't have any proof to show me that you do have insurance on it. The bike is unregistered. >> So, it's a victimless crime. >> It's class C. You're being extended on three traffic. >> Would I be getting a release on my own reconnaissance today? >> You could. Yeah. The judge hasn't come in today. So once a judge comes in and sees you, you can get out today. >> So I'm going to be uh down here at the Kore Police Station to the judge show. >> Yes, sir. >> He gets there what time? >> Um it's Monday through Friday, so his hours are 8 to 5. So anytime between now and then. I can't tell you an exact time, but when we get there, I can try to call and figure out what time the judge does come for you. >> And when will I get my phone call? >> When you get to the jail and get booked in, you get two free phone calls. >> Keep my camera going. Yes, that is correct. Hey, would you throw this in the trash? >> It's in my hand. >> Yeah, I got you. Bet you were chewing on it. >> I know I was, but I don't want to throw it on the ground. >> I got you. I got you. >> All right, hippie. Next time save you the jail and extra fines. Just renew your registration, pay your insurance, get your motorcycle endorsement. Everything is there for you to read. Good luck, my friend. >> Well, you got to give them credit. >> Why is that? Well, they're going to keep on doing it till they get it right. >> Hi. Well, that's just about it. So, so thanks for watching and we'll see you again real soon. Oh, and not forgetting the prop guys. They're busy striking the set. That's an interesting little point there. Striking. That's a word we all use in the biz for dismantling the set, taking it apart, unscrewing things, releasing safety catches, that sort of thing.
