[Music] The next question here is uh Mr. Thompson, looks like on um March, I'm sorry, February 19th, the prosecutor filed a petition of asking to show cause. Now, I'm basically alleging that there was some kind of bond violation. Particularly in this instance, the bond violation is that you allegedly failed to appear for a drug test on uh February 9th of 2025 and then February 16th, 2025. And welcome to facts or frauds and we're back in Michigan for the conclusion of the sovereign citizen Thompson saga. It's sentencing day. The court takes up the case of people of the state of Michigan versus David Glenn Thompson file 25-3579FH. The court recognizes before Mr. David Denhelton County prosecutor here on behalf of the people uh Mr. Robert Champion the defense council in the case has been in and out and I say defense council actually he's only appointed as advisory council and actually the defendant Mr. David Glenn Thompson has been representing himself uh in pro per uh he has failed to appear today the court therefore will issue a bench warrant for his arrest. Thank you. I'm sorry. May I just inquire the trial date? Your honor, was just the witnesses. Does the court want me to leave? Uh, we are uh prepared. We've got all the witnesses. Uh, to my my recollection, we've got them all served, ready to go, and I just wanted to Yeah. Yeah. Let's leave it on. Leave it on. Okay. Thank you. And and but please keep in mind, check back a week. Maybe he doesn't get arrested. If he doesn't get arrested, then we're going to have to adjourn it. So, I'm going to give you a cut off date. If he's not back a week prior, too, then we'll adjourn the trial. Take care. Yeah. Thank you. Many unbearable hours later because the defendant failed to appear for a random alcohol test as ordered on or about April 16th and April 26th of this year. U Mr. Thompson. Uh, that was a term or condition of your bond. That would be based upon the fact that the amended information involved controlled substances. So therefore, the courts would have been concerned about substance use. You have the right to challenge those allegations to say that no, you didn't or yes, you did uh violate your bond. At the hearing, the prosecutor presents some evidence. Uh it's not a full trial. He can present it through a witness. He can present it through a police report, I'm sorry, or a report from the community corrections office. Uh or you can make an admission at the hearing. You can call witnesses if you choose, present evidence or testimony if you chose or remain silent and have the right to not have a child use against you. The key here issue is if the court were to find you in violation of your bond, the court could continue it and just admonish you and wave his magic finger or two revoke it or man you custody of the jail or three modify it. I don't know how but we could modify it. Um I kind of have an idea what I would do for modifications such as enhanced outpatient treatment programming or something like that. Mr. Champion, how would your client wish to respond? Your honor, my client would admit that he missed the testing. He's not disputed. All right. Thank you. Mr. Thompson, could you please raise your right hand for me, sir? You swear or affirm the information and testimony that I provide shel. Absolutely. Yes, sir. Thank you, sir. You may take a seat. Uh, Mr. Thompson, is it true that you failed to appear for testing on a couple days? Uh, to my knowledge, it was only one. If it was two, I I humbly apologize. I do have the circumstances regarding the May 3rd. All right. Um my um I have two half German Shepherd girl dogs that heat. Okay. I let them out and one of them and I've got a copy of the text messages. It took about three days. I finally found her. Um and uh I also would like to let the court know that um 52 years ago today I took my first breath and birthday uh Friday and Saturday I had backtoback urine tests and yeah Friday I actually come to tears leaving the first time in completely clean. Good. Good. um slip and lonely. So, here's what the court's going to do. No, contestto that I I'm getting back healing relationships. I talked that day. I had a Here's what the court's going to do, and I appreciate that. And Mr. Thompson, what I'm seeing from you today is what I expect having seen you in another final. Uh the court finds a defendant in violation of this bond. The court's going to continue the bond. However, the court's going to add to the bond enhanced outpatient treatment program through community corrections, which is actually operated by Catholic human services. The concern here that I obviously have is making sure that you're you have some kind of support system. All right. I I I I take what the people do at Catholic Human Services very seriously and I appreciate the services they're there to provide. So, uh, when you leave court, you're going to want to contact Community Corrections, which as you know is over in Cadillac in the Westford County Courthouse. And, um, they'll set you up with an enhanced outpatient treatment program. Now, that phrase sounds really, really intense. I don't know how intense it really is, but it's enhanced outpatient. They'll set you up with some classes. It's not like they're it's not like it's 24 hours a day or even eight hours a day or even every day, but, uh, they'll put you into a program. And again, the objective here isn't to punish you. It's just to help you in case you've got some substance use issues. Okay. Your honor, may I also ask um during sentencing, we had talked about uh uh cannabis use and when I received the order, what issues? Cannabis on sentencing that I was able to use it. When I got the order, it says I cannot. It should say you cannot use it recreationally if you have a medical card. Nothing I can do can stop that prescription. I I understand that. I believe that that was one of the things that was checked off go that I was allowed to use it. Now, when I met with my the probation officer did do an in-house visit and I refrained in honor um to Okay, hold on. Mr. Thompson, I'm not feeling well today. take care of this with your uh probation officer and if she needs to come and ask me to modify some paperwork, we'll do so. All right. Thank you. On this file, the day we're journed, we'll take a recess. Thank you. One week later, we're here today for a sentence in this case for a plea conviction for use of a controlled substance. The report has received and gone over the prestigence investigation report. And I do not see that I made any corrections or amendments. How about you, Mr. D? Any objections, corrections to make? I How about you, Mr. Champion? Your honor, we have no additional questions or resolution to the report, Mr. Champion. Your honor, I think the court is very familiar with Mr. Tom. I've known him for quite some time and have assisted him in his most recent child support case and this case uh had a struggle um most of his life with various injuries and PTSD. He is not dealing with it very well. um and he individual than we dealt with just a few months ago because of that treatment and his acknowledgement of his need for mental health treatment. I believe the present recommendation and plan is well suited for David. He is continuing his path to recovering from past trauma. So I would ask the court to follow that. Mr. Den any further? Uh very briefly, your honor, uh the incident, uh the defendant was brought to the attention of law enforcement. Um because EMS was called, it was found bloody. So that just shows the backdrop of him needing uh substance abuse treatment. That's the focus. Uh that's part of the recommendation. We certainly encourage the defendant take advantage of it. Uh I would encourage him to take to accept the help of others. Mr. Thompson is independent in the extreme and I would encourage him again to accept the help of others. We support the recommendation and we would respect request the court following. All right. I don't know if you're independent to an extreme. I'm not really sure. I've seen some that are even more extreme, but that's okay. Extreme to me is the uni bomber. So that's not you. Go ahead, Mr. Tom. Anything you want to say? Well, your honor, when I was an AIG obstacle, I was denied medical treatment three times that day. What's your obstacle? Um, it was a ravine 16 ft deep canteen over each kidney upside down 16. Boom. On my back. E5 saw it. Took me to a drill. Said, "This guy just fell off this obstacle. He's hurt." The drill basically said I don't give enough climb the rope push. I couldn't even do a push-up. I didn't I didn't give medical treatment for two months. So I was stuck in this position for 3 days and I still completed my contract two years. I walked 120 miles in uh my Megan Island. Man, I had an exceptional career. It's It's been a long road, but it broke my heart. And I I walked on onto Central Michigan's football team because I wanted to play football. And I had one of them big gorillas pick me up and body slam me on the turf and I walked away because with this kind of back injury, I could end up in a wheelchair. And today it feels like there's a horse standing on my back. The last five tests I've taken with Wexford tested are negative for everything. I'm doing my best. not seeing my daughters for three years and their mother being in contempt of their court orders, the court orders that I have for the name change decree and the seal from public view. It wears on me. I've put I've done my due diligence. And one thing I do want to say, your honor, I highly respect you. I respect the court and I I I appreciate it. You panicked me there. I thought you going to say something bad. No, no, no. I mean, you know, I've in my journey through the study of laws and society, and I've told law enforcement again and again, you guys have a tough job because the people have lost their minds. They're they're they don't get it. I understand. And that's the only thing that I have left. And uh I would request that any bonds that the court has no sentencing. I am dating someone. I highly value her. She What's up with me? If there's a bond that can go back to her to recoup some of her cuz she's been bonding me out. Well, I I I don't do that, but I'll I'll tell you I'll explain that in a moment. It's my turn to talk. I I appreciate it. Thank you. All right. Well, the court finds that the sentence I'm going to announce is reason proportionate based upon the content investigation report. Um the uh court is uh does find reasonable grounds based upon the nature of the offense. Um and I think a probationary period is appropriate. 12 months of probation. The court adopts the terms or conditions for probation that are contained inside the report. Uh that would be on CFJ 145 pages two and three. Uh it does talk about uh other intoxicants in possession of which of substances uh that could be marijuana but it doesn't apply if there is a medical marijuana card. The court has the I'm sorry the defendant has the right to be considered early probation at halftime if he's been compliant with the terms for conditions. The court sentences a defendant to a two-day jail term with two days of credit. Also, a state minimum fee of $50, a crime victim's right fund fee of $75. A court cost of 100. I'm going to say a fine of $300, which I think is the only difference from the recommendation. A $100 attorney fee, supervision fees of $30 a month or $60 a month if there's any electronic monitoring. Now, your question about returning a bond, whoever posted it gets to go get the money back. No, exactly. I So that that's that's still there. I understand. Well, if she's the one that posted it, that she's the one that gets to come back and where where does she need to go, your honor? Uh the clerk's office. Thank you. The court receives a notice of appeal rights and it's been initialed by the Anything else, Mr. Blazak. No, thank you, honor. How about you, Mr. D? How about you, Mr. Champion? There you are. Thank you. All right, Mr. Thompson, good luck. Let's uh see what we can do to help you. Good luck with your relationship. And I'll note when you kept saying what you have uh to help you, you pointed to the air. And for the record, I acknowledge that uh you're pointing to heaven. So therefore, I understand that. Best of luck to you, sir. realizing the u delusion of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It's it hit me about two months ago to go. Well, that's why we weren't supposed to eat the apple. That's correct. Sorry. I'm sick of you always telling me what to do. You need to stop blaming others for your um for your denials and um you're supposed to decide what you be or something.
