They're doing they're doing first aid right now. >> Okay. An officer just pulled up there. And is he still walking? Yeah, he's still walking. >> Which way is he walking? >> Uh, he's walking east. >> Eastbound. >> Yeah, eastbound. >> And what's he wearing? >> Uh, black shirt, black pants. >> Okay. And can I get your name? >> Uh, Griffin. G R I FF I N. >> The initial information is limited and disturbing. A male suspect involved in a stabbing, but within moments, a second caller offers details that don't quite line up. that large >> 911. What is your emergency? >> There's a lady with a knife stabbing somebody in the north where >> the giant eagle >> she's stabbing somebody. >> She is stabbing. She's walking. >> North said units start responding to North Giant Eagle. We have several calls with somebody with a knife trying to stab people. >> Do you have a description of her? >> Yeah, she's a black female. Um, we got eyes on her. She's walking towards me. >> She's outside now. Okay. >> She's outside walking with a knife in hand. >> This is going to be a black female walking towards the rain with a knife. >> Black shirt, black leggings, >> all black. >> You're not going to follow. >> Is Is anybody injured? >> Yeah, somebody's injured. I think this kid was stabbed in the mother. >> Okay, hold on a minute. Hold on a minute. >> As officers from the Northolmstead Police Department arrive, they still don't fully understand what they're about to face. Okay. >> Where are you injured, ma'am? >> Your shoulder. Okay, let's take a look. All right. I have my son. My son. You're taking care of him. Have a heartbeat. Does he have a heartbeat? >> They're checking. They're checking. >> Okay, let's check you out. Okay, >> pull your hair back. >> Okay, you got I'm going to get some gloves real quick. I'm going come back. Okay. >> Does he have a heartbeat? >> We have a post. Everybody knows about me. Everybody knows. This is a 37year-old woman whose three-year-old son has been attacked violently. And at this exact moment, everything is happening at once. She's being given aid. Her child is injured and being treated. Medics are arriving. Officers are splitting up. Some trying to stabilize the victims. Others already pulling witnesses aside to piece together what just happened. >> You guys were all out here. >> Yeah. I So I was on the other side of this lot. We heard screaming. I looked back and I saw her stabbing. >> We went to go turn around. Didn't know what was going on. And then she she started walking down the lot and we called 911 and followed her to make sure that the police would get her. And then as soon as the police drew arms on her and she went on her stomach, we turned to come back here and help the kid. >> And she called 911 literally right. This is all [ __ ] happening so fast. Right. Right. Did you Did you see So you got Look, give me give me one second. Hang on one second. Okay. So, uh, you got an African-Amean woman stabbing. I know exactly two individuals. Do you know who she's stabbing? >> The kid and the woman I with. It must be your mom. >> His mom. >> Okay. So don't don't assume, but if you know kid, white, white, black, >> you know, um the kid and I think they were Latino, but I don't I mean Okay, just put uh like white, Latino, a female and a kid. Yes. Have you had that to actually these witnesses saw everything and right now officers need answers fast. Do they know each other? Was this random? Was this targeted? Because if she singled them out, that's one scenario. If she didn't, there could be others in danger. If you've been enjoying the way these cases are broken down, consider subscribing. It helps more than you'd think. Now, back to the case. >> And then what did you write? >> Um, I mean, it's tough because it happened so fast. So, yeah, we were loading our groceries in the car. We heard the screams. I looked behind us like left back area and I saw the woman with the knife just kind of like did one of these but I couldn't see anything and then she started walking and then I saw the mother holding her son. >> Yeah, we didn't see how it started. We heard the screams and by the time I looked the lady was just already walking with the knife. >> All right. So your guys your guy's car where is your car? >> Well, it was on the other side of that. >> I could see in the mirror. >> Yeah, in the review. >> So you guys drove? >> Yeah. Yeah. So I had we were following them in her car >> walking away and I I just I followed her. Well, negatively. No, I went I went all the way around. >> I'm sorry. >> By the time I got back up here, >> she was over there. He was We were warning people to watch out. >> All right. So, if you can if you can add to add to this that you were Yeah. Where you were parked, you were one >> one lot over. Okay. I mean, she did not she didn't want to get one row over. >> Can you hear how the kids doing all >> Kyle, grab that down? >> Julian is now farther from the scene, but the focus hasn't shifted. Every second here is about keeping him alive. >> Sean, give me give me statements. >> Sean [ __ ] seal. Yep. Yep. >> Everybody was here. Come with me. Everybody here. >> I got a chest seal right here. Come on, baby. Give me a seal. Give me go. >> Okay. >> Yeah, we need some gauze to wipe it off. Got it. >> Got me. Got me. Okay. Good. Good. Ready. You got to wipe it clean. Wipe it clean. Get one, dude. >> Wipe it clean. Okay. Good. Good. Good. Give me another one. Ready. Come on, baby. Go. Go. More. Okay. Ready. Ready. Go. It's [ __ ] up. The footage is censored, but the reality isn't. Even through the blur, the color tells you everything you need to know. Julian is bleeding heavily, and his mother is right there watching it happen. >> You got gauze in there. >> Gauze and wipe it off. >> Gauze me. Gauze me. >> Okay. Good. >> Good. Ready. You got to wipe it clean. Wipe it clean. You got one, dude. Wipe it clean. Okay. Good. Good. You got it. Ready. Ready. Come on, baby. Go. >> Ready. Ready. We're going to hold pressure on your care about me. Save my son. >> They're working on him. Okay. >> My husband's going to be somewhere else. My husband. Okay. My husband. >> Where's your husband at? >> Please. He's He's coming. He's coming. He's probably going to get a ticket for speeding. That's all right. >> We're not [laughter] worried about that right now. Okay. >> Don't worry about that. >> Oh my god. [laughter] I know. It's okay. It's okay. It's all right. I'm doing good hands right now. Sorry. I don't know. It was a big black lady. We got her. >> She got her. >> I believe so. Yeah. >> Okay. >> And at this point, officers already have their suspect. The woman responsible is in custody, but the damage has already been done. >> Yes. >> She needs to die. >> I'm sorry. >> We have her, so don't She's arrested. Don't worry about that part of it. We're worried about making sure you guys are okay now. >> Please. My son. >> What? I mean, what happened? >> Did you get stabbed anywhere else, ma'am? >> No. >> Are you sure you're not? >> I'm just going to look at you. I was in Giant Eagle and I and she followed and she's still looking and I walked past her. >> Right now, nothing else matters. Not motive, not even any explanations. The only concern is the baby. This is a mother who witnessed her child's first breath and is now forced to witness what seems to be his last. And as she tries to explain what happened, her focus never leaves her child. She's in. And I don't know why she followed me. >> Does he have Is he breathing? Shoulder blade and face. >> Is he brea Is he breathing? Is he breathing? Is he breathing? Is he breathing? >> No. Hey, let me know when you're ready. Ready? Let me know when you're ready. I'm a mom. >> All right. You ready? Ready. Go. Go. Go. I'm not sure yet. Where can I get involved? Okay. >> There's chaos everywhere. In the middle of it, you can hear officers trying to revive a three-year-old. Others are rushing to secure the scene. Medics are pulling out equipment. The mother keeps asking the same question because to her, it's the only question that matters. One officer stays close, offering what little emotional support is possible. And despite everyone moving fast, it doesn't look good. >> Hold it over. Hold it over. Good. All right. >> We got to check the airway. We got to make sure to get this baby breathing. If he's not okay. All right. We got to get this. He's coming. He's coming. He's probably going to >> Okay. Come on, baby. >> What? Okay. >> We have to get this baby going. Roll the shirt on. Give me scissors now. Just give me scissors now. Give me scissors now. >> Good. Get this baby tra naked, man. Right here. >> Get this baby tra naked. Let's go. Good. Get him all the way naked. Good. Get these off. Get that off. Good. Good. All right. Is there a halo chest on it? Okay. Is there anything else on this baby? >> Okay. Get this baby naked. All right. >> Baby's trauma naked. You got ready to go. I'll just pick him up and take him. >> You stand on the in the back BACK LEFT SHOULDER BLADE and face back. >> We got a good seal on the back behind you. Okay. Let me know when you're ready. Okay. Not ready. >> Okay. Come on, baby. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Hey, let me know when you're ready. Ready? Let me know when you're ready. >> Let's get him on the >> Okay. Let me know when you're ready. Here we go. >> This started as a normal grocery run, an ordinary day, and somehow it ends here. Nothing about this day was supposed to be memorable until it became unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. Medic. >> Yeah, she's also got her shoulder. Don't worry about me, please. >> Well, they got him. Okay. I'm going to move you over here. Okay. >> Are you here? Let's go this way. Okay. Here. I'm going to help you out. Have you been stabbed? Where are you? Leave your seat. I know. >> Put your unc. >> They're helping him. They're helping him. Now it's time to help you. All right. >> We got to get that off. >> We got We got to get this off. >> She's breaking down and that reaction makes complete sense. She doesn't know it yet, but based on the baby's condition, the medics already believe she is about to lose him. Get off. >> Get off. Wait. Where's my son? >> Is he Is he alive? Is he alive? Don't tell me you're working on him. Is he breathing? Is he breathing? Look at me. I don't know anything. I can't tell you. I know anything. It's not gushing, though. Lily's covering up the best that they can. That's what I said. It was It was flowing pretty good when I got pressure on it. Open this up. >> Just a small cut on the top of her shoulder. Okay, collect your items. Thank you. Thank you. >> They're treating my son. >> They're treating it. They're treating >> They're treating All right. They're working. All right. Are you ready? Yes. >> The father reaches the scene at the same moment medics are readying their child for the hospital. >> All right. Good to go. All right. You ready? Ready. Ready. Three. SOMEBODY GET READY UP. GO. >> GO. GO. GO. >> GOOD. GOOD. GOOD. GOOD. We're going to get our pads on. Okay. >> Keep going. Keep going. >> Medic, come in here and relieve him. >> Medic, come in and relieve him. Compression. >> They got him over there. >> Get mom out. GO TAKE HER TO A CAR right now. Hey, somebody go get mom. She doesn't need to see this. >> Are you mom here? Let's go this way. >> Officers try to block her view. This is damage no one should have to carry, especially not a parent. This kind of trauma stays forever. >> Hey, we need a second. >> All right, let's do we got to get that off. We got We got to get this off. Take that off. >> No. Wait. Where's my son? Is he Is he alive? Open this up. >> Are you all right? Are you hot? Are you tell make it as wide as you can? >> Don't touch. Okay. Thank you so much for coming out. Don't question. It's okay. She can stay here. >> Just here. >> Yeah. >> Are you having any problems breathing? >> Where's the knife? You got that? Yeah, we have it's a it's a steak knife. It's going to be like a 6 in. >> It was a butcher knife. >> Okay. >> It was a butcher knife. >> It's a large steak knife. >> Please don't take do everything you can to help my son. I don't care. >> They're helping him right now. Okay. >> Okay. I'm sorry. >> I want to see your uh >> Did you get her phone number? >> You've seen kitchen knives. You've seen three-year-olds. Putting those two realities together is something the mind isn't built to handle. Alongside a critical life-saving effort, a separate distraction unfolds. We don't know who she is, but whatever this is, it has nothing to do with the emergency at hand. >> Don't touch anything. >> Okay. Hey, thank you. >> Yep. Thank you so much for coming out here. You want to step up for me? >> Don't push me. It's okay. Don't push me. >> Do me a favor. I hear you. I hear you. We're going to let that work. Okay. collected items. Thank you. >> Okay, collect your items. Not bad. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. >> It looks like she wants to help. The problem is help is already happening. And this isn't one of those moments where extra voices improve the situation. Besides, there are some people who genuinely helped. I just released an intense video showing the full confession of a cold-blooded murderer that was able to evade justice [music] for 40 years until he was finally caught thanks to DNA technology. You can watch his chilling confession, plus many more Patreon exclusive videos right now at patreon.com/strangertories. Plus, >> how's it going? >> Good. Here's a nurse who was on work with the baby. First, we come upon the woman screaming with the child. >> Okay. >> She heard screaming. She looked. She saw the mother holding the child. She immediately laid the child flat. Started CPR. And then the woman said, "I'm stabbed." It was a big black lady. I'm stabbed, too. She was stabbed in the right shoulder. Her mom was stabbed in the right shoulder. [clears throat] Okay. >> She worked on the baby till the spot came. >> Okay, perfect. She was doing compressions on the kid. So, we probably want to get her to witness. >> What did she do? Do >> you have your driver's license with you? >> Yeah. >> Did you see it happen? >> You just Why you came across it? Well, I parked over there originally and I got out of the car and I heard someone scream help and then I heard someone scream, "Get the out of the parking lot." So, I originally got back in my car to leave and I drove up two lanes or two lanes. and my window was down and everyone was running this way and they all had their phones to come out and oney old parents I'm a pediatric ICU nurse that rainbow there was an old lady doing compression so I said they'll take over took over for maybe about a minute and a half showed up and set back up so um those are my sunglasses on the ground I that I just want you guys. >> Yeah, you got your driver's license. >> One of the first people to step in was this nurse. But no matter the profession, something this sudden on a day that was supposed to be ordinary can break anyone. >> Okay. Jesus Christ. I do that every day, but that one was >> Yes. >> I have a 2 and 1/2year-old that I'm about to Yeah. It's [ __ ] up. All right. You have any questions? All right. I'm going to get back to it. I'll give you my card real quick in case the comes up. Like I said, a detective or someone will probably be in contact with you if you have any questions when you call. It's about it. Thank you. Thanks for your help. Yep. >> It's not lost on anyone how personal this feels. But the most terrifying thing is the fact that this wasn't a freak accident. It was a random act. And randomness is what makes situations like this so dangerous. But officers are forced to stay in investigative mode because until they understand what happened, they can't rule out the possibility of more victims. >> About 5 minutes. >> Do you have any more victims if you >> I don't know. Do >> so. We got mother and child. >> Yeah. Has anybody in the store been cleared? The whole store been cleared? >> We didn't we didn't clear the store, but everything occurred out here. >> Happened out here. She was saying that that lady followed her around to the store and then followed her out here and stabbed the kid in Yeah. and just or stabbed the kid. She tried to grab the kid away from and then she got stabbed. >> Um, so what I went right Who's Who else do you have with you? >> I don't know. I think one of them one of our guys uh >> Keith went with them. So you got two left. So here's what I want you to do. >> I would like you to go with an officer, take a blue bag and do a walk through the store. Adjust the CIA. I'm gonna I thinking referee. I know. Get their blue bags into them. All our blue bags are on the floor. No, we're not. We didn't have a crew in there to be again. I just want to cover our face. >> I got you. Yeah, that's just letting you know. >> So, all right. So, this what we got. We got statements rolling. Kids going. We got uh video rolling in the back. We're going to go collect that. Got some audio out there on the exit securing the evidence scene because the knife is in the rocks there outside. It's it's so in that two-lane exit was laying on the ground and there was just off of the shoulder there was a little rocky area and that's where the knife is. >> All right. >> Okay. >> So, let's uh who who you got bringing a camera? >> Luke has got the camera right now. He's going back to CCTV footage. >> So, if I need to get another camera, I can do that. >> Yeah. And we want to collect that knife and get get that clear. Well, if you take over the statements, here's the key. I'm going to get this lady. >> I have something else to do. This old lady is going to get this blue car out of here. >> Okay. >> At this point, officers don't yet know if this attack was isolated. They still need context. What happened, why it happened, and whether anyone else is at risk. The baby has already been rushed to the hospital, but the scene itself is still very much active. Because this happened in public, containment becomes just as important as care. >> Start going um go around to anybody else here. See if they see saw anything. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I know he's got statements on over there. Grab any of these people. If they saw if they saw something, get get at least their name and information right now. >> Right. We can get statements. We'll gather them up and get statements. >> Um if they if they didn't, let's clear they're out. >> Get them out of here. Okay. Did you see anything, sir? No. Okay. This is your car. This is my car. >> I got you. Um, >> we can't really get you out right now. So, I understand. That's why I'm just waiting. >> I know this is your car, but if you kind of want to go over, stand by that tree over there just so we're kind of farther away. I Thank you, sir. >> Did you guys see anything? >> No. All right. Where? >> Good. Good job, though. Great job. >> Thank you. Um, where are your cars at? I'm about three or four starting at the very end. >> I got you. So, if you missed anything, we're just going to politely ask you to kind of take off just so we have the area to do what we need to do. Okay. All right. Thank you, sir. >> Do you guys see anything? No. Where are you parked at? >> In the which the truck. Okay. Well, if you don't have any business here, I'm just going to politely ask you to just kind of be on your way. I appreciate. >> How old is the kid? >> I'm not sure. I don't know. I know he's younger, so very unfortunate. Um, but yeah, if you just want to go ahead and take off, we appreciate it. Thank you, >> sir. >> Got it. >> Yeah. >> All right. Where are you parked at? >> I'm over there. >> Okay. >> Go in. >> I got you. Yeah. Well, I think the store is going to be closed for a little bit. So, if you just want to go ahead >> inside or outside? >> Uh, I I'm not sure. I haven't been inside. So, we'll just have you kind of go be on your way for a little bit and then >> Middle Easter. >> Yeah. >> That's your money. >> All right. Well, I said like appreciate you stopping. Okay. Thank you, sir. >> Thank you for your service. >> We're still trying to figure it out right now. Okay. >> Just >> What's that? >> I It's I would say it's closed right now. Um I'll have you just go ahead and politely ask you to leave the area for now. Um, come pick up your medicine at a later date. Okay. >> Not even >> No. Anybody here see anything? No. Okay. Did Did any of you all see anything? >> No. That was inside. I heard first responders and I ran. I just heard. >> So, for simplicity sake, if you didn't see anything, >> I'm trying to call your phone. I don't know if I can take you. >> Okay. >> The officer repeatedly asks people to leave. When something this violent happens in public, it instantly becomes a spectacle. People gather, questions multiply, and space disappears. At the same time, the mother is guided toward a separate ambulance. >> We have a >> It's a big kitchen knife. It's like that big. I don't think she got it. Little >> Are you having any problems? >> What? Where's the knife? >> Yeah, we have. It's a It's a steak knife. It's going to be like a 6 in steak knife. She's arrested. Don't worry about that. We're going to take care of you. Worry about making sure you guys >> Did you get Did you get stabbed somewhere [clears throat] else, man? >> No. >> Are you sure you're not >> open? I'm just going to look. >> Okay. >> I was in Chinese though and I and she followed and she still looked at me and I walked past her and then she followed me to my car and something told me something was wrong. >> Are you sure? Did you see it? Did we send a cop in? >> He's in there now. Okay. >> And I tried to move him away and I didn't. >> All right, Chuck, let's get a scene going. Westlake's working on some tape for us, which is nice. >> We're going to bring our here. We're going to get you in the back of our handles. Okay. >> My phone. >> You can keep that phone. >> My phone is >> You keep your purse with you. Okay. >> Yes. And I arrested her. >> Yes. She's She's not I We did no assessments on her. We did We got the We got the child trauma and naked. I I did not assess her at all. Okay. >> Who Who got her over there? Who got We got her. Yes. Suspect over there. Yes. I stopped her with a knife. She dropped it. She put her hands. Okay. Who Who took her? I don't know. What does she need? You're pregnant. You need water or something? She was doing a case. I just don't want her to. >> Okay. >> While the scene remains active, the suspect has already been detained elsewhere. 211. I need a Carterville helping kid. These are the first couple. >> Where's your cuff? >> Who's that cuff? >> Hold on. We're good. >> All right. You want me to go to the female or >> go in [laughter] the three rows or the store? >> Copy. I will be off. You got a medit. [laughter] >> Can you believe in your heard anywhere? >> Nice right there. Oh, >> this is 34year-old Bianca Ellis, the same woman responsible for the attack on that baby for reasons that still don't make sense. >> Let's get her up. >> Pull you up. Okay. Do you have someone there with you? >> Lift you up. Stand up. Two. Stand up. >> Stand up. Come on. >> 14. All right, let's put her right back. >> I'm going check her right here. >> You good with that? >> Yeah. >> Walking back this way. >> 52 L3. I got three units myself in the parking lot. Sort of aisle. If you got EMS coming, >> we don't have anything here. Petro out in the parking lot. We're out in the parking lot. Take a crank up the AC for you. Okay, >> we got to get some tape off. >> Get tape back. >> Tape? >> Yeah. Bianca is arrested and taken to the police station. Back at the scene, officers are still working trying to locate her belongings and determine whether a statement is possible. We've got We need some tape. We've got the female. She's under arrest. We got to I want to tape this whole all these [ __ ] cars out. I want an idea who the female is. She's got a car here, too. Okay. >> You have tape. >> Did you get a statement from her? >> No, I I relay it. >> Johnson, is that woman still here? >> That's going to be >> Yeah, I know. They left it. They're throwing 53 when they could do it. If you can spot her, they're going to want a statement from her. Maybe >> we're going to go over to Gecko and see if personal effects are over there. A witness said they saw her talking on the phone and generally she had a heart sh like that color shirt, but that's not her. >> Okay. So, does she have uh Let's try to find her [ __ ] that she rolled around in a cart or a wheelchair. Are you guys going to get any videos from the store or anything? >> Yes, we are. We need to get somebody to get along. >> So, we need to They're going to Japetto preserve stuff. >> Yep. >> We need um her belongings. No vehicle. >> We got to get you decon. We got the other dude decon. >> Yeah, that's >> at the scene. And the mother still doesn't know what's about to happen to her child. Grab in the ambulance. Grab her information. You might have went on that ambulance there with the child. Yeah. We were already trying to stay away. Okay. >> Oh, it's just my shoulder to do this. Okay. We just got to do this. Okay. I'll do the lower legs. You got some. >> The mother is clearly in pain and not just from her physical injury. At the same time, officers have to turn to witnesses because the investigation can't wait. She was heavy stuff. >> Okay. >> She was heavy stuff, but I think she worked there. >> You didn't see anyone lurking around this area like maybe yelling on the phone or something like that? >> No, there was another person over here. She had a couple bags. She had a couple bags. She's white. A little bit heavy set. >> Okay. >> She wasn't doing much. >> But that's your cart though. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Yeah. You weren't with anybody else. >> No, I'm on my phone. I I got fire. I >> Hey, did we put that over the radio on the one that we found yourself here? >> This We don't think that this isn't hers. >> No, she's saying this is her stuff. No, I I didn't see it. There was a white heavy woman sitting here about a couple hours ago, but she was on black. >> Yeah, this one was black. But that ship right there when we walk by. >> I don't think so. It's empty, though. >> As this unfolds, an officer updates detectives, laying out the facts as they're known so far. hair wearing a green. >> So, some random black lady fouled a white lady and her kid out to the parking lot >> and when they were getting in their car stabbed the kid and the lady, >> but but it sounds like like completely random. >> All right. Yeah. Um, so we got there's a we got statements from a bunch of people. We got some we probably got interviews to do. I don't I doubt the kid's going to survive >> and and young like probably two or three. >> One second. >> Here's where things take a darker turn. Bianca Ellis is not unfamiliar to police. This isn't the first time officers have dealt with her. Okay. Yeah. But yeah, uh they should probably interview this chick that we got in custody. >> Yeah, I would say she's bi crazy, but we should interview her. >> Yes. Yeah, we have we have the suspect. Uh we have the knife. >> Yeah. Is that the lady that was in our jail for the last 4 days? >> Could be. Uh Ellis Is her last name? >> She's just crazy. We had her on warrants. Oh, yeah. She would not She wouldn't even respond to the judge on if that's who that is. Are >> there any other patient inbound at St. John? >> Negative. No other patient in. >> Yep. While while in our jail, but she walks perfectly fine. >> I have no idea. She wasn't. So, she got let out. She got let out sometime Friday or Saturday. >> Bring it over. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. She was not in custody yesterday. Joe was empty. >> If her mental state was already known to the police, the question becomes unavoidable. Was there a moment where intervention could have prevented this? That question won't be answered tonight. Right now, officers have too much to do. >> Your car? >> Yes, sir. >> All right. Um, >> do you want me to pull it out here and park it there? >> Uh, I've got a car down there. We can we can block out. >> Okay. West guy said West Sergeant said there's some guys people in the store did not see anything. Cars were within the tape. Are we able to get them out or do you want to leave them in for now? Um, >> let's let's leave them in right at the moment. >> Can we get her out of here? >> Just this one. >> Yeah, it's not going to make much of a difference as long as they go out. >> Okay. You want to go that way or that way? >> Well, she's she This is yours. >> This is her car. Yeah. >> Yeah. She could she could just go straight out that way. >> Got it. Couple things um on the bed. >> Got a witness who said she saw that lady over at the gecko with a card of her personal effects on the phone screaming about this that and the other. Okay. >> I don't know if we've located her personal stuff yet, but it might be over in the gecko area. >> Uh second thing is Petro's pretty shook up. So, one of our guys is open. >> Okay. >> I just want to let you know. I'm not sure if you have anybody back at the station. >> We got nobody back out here. Yeah. Um Um Yeah, that's fine. Are are you able to check a cart? Of >> course. We can get to it. We I can make I can get a handle. >> If if you could do that and take Derek with you, Derek? >> Take Derek with you. If you if you find something, he can uh he can stay and secure it and we'll tape it off. >> Okay. >> Since you know what you're looking for, >> right? >> Meanwhile, there's at least one person here who saw it from start to finish. >> Okay. In between those where those people are where that white truck there is. The white truck was there. I was sitting right there. I had I saw the whole thing. >> Okay. Okay. >> So, she walked up behind her as a lady was getting ready to start putting her stuff in. >> Yeah. >> And just stabbed. >> Did she say anything? Scream anything? >> I didn't hear anything. I had my windows down. I didn't hear anything. All I heard was just screaming and the lady grabbed their child up out the cart and that's when it fell over and they collapsed over here and the lady just continued to walk off and that's when everybody just kind of came out of nowhere. >> Y >> and I I got out the the one guy, he said, "What happened?" I said, "I don't know. I'm going to go look. Um I came about halfway and I saw her trying to get away. So I hopped in the car and chased her down. >> Okay. >> Um to almost where that that white building is. >> Yeah. >> That's when I called 911. And um like literally 30 seconds later, you guys showed up. >> Okay. >> All right. Cool. >> So the kid was in a cart in the cart. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Oh, that so it was in the cart and the cart fell over. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> All black short. All right. Did you see us arrest the lady or anything? >> I saw him surrounded. I I got the video. >> The black lady is wearing all black short hair without her. Police show surrounding. Okay. >> I saw her drop the knife in the rock and hit the ground. Can you just kind of put like maybe put something in here that like the lady that we surrounded you saw was the lady that stabbed him and dropped the knife and all that just just to kind of like tie up that little loose end. You know, >> even after hearing the story laid out, there's still no motive to grasp. There is absolutely no context that explains why this happened. Um, so a detective will most likely be in touch with you within the next couple days to kind of go over everything and get like a >> another kind of debrief debrief from you once you settle down and the adrenaline wears off and everything. >> Any witnesses that we need to have our medics talk to or anything? Just you don't have any need for pretty traumatic event. >> Are you you think you're all right? You want to talk to the medic? >> Yeah, I hear you. All right, Travis. >> Okay. >> Would you like to talk to anybody to the medic or anything? >> I need to talk to you. >> Here's my card. Travis, >> if anything comes up, you know, you have anything you want to add, you want to talk about it, whatever. You can give me a call and we'll get it figured out. Like I said, someone will probably be in contact with you. >> If you need to talk to anybody, you can just call them, call the fire department, you can ask for Captain Bman or officer. be happy to come out and talk to you or get you anything you need. >> Okay. >> All right. Well, thanks again. Thanks for the help. >> Right. >> The trauma doesn't stop at the victim. It can spread to everyone who witnesses it. And in this case, the victim was a three-year-old baby. By this point, officers have already begun reviewing surveillance footage, trying to understand how something like this went unnoticed. Let's make sure it's Riley here. >> All right. >> Here's where that white jeep was. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. She comes right up where those shopping carts are. >> Yeah. >> That's about as far as we can see on the video. Probably where Skull is. Maybe a little closer. >> But she's We'll >> go from here to there, though. >> Yeah. She walked like over on this side the car. So these cars. Yeah. >> Yeah. When I pulled up to her, she had in her hand. She just dropped it. >> Yeah. >> Probably comes out these doors. Maybe. I mean, she could have cut across, but probably comes out these doors. Just go watch some more videos. But when she come, she comes from over here somewhere. Walks in these doors. >> Very nice in her hand. >> I mean, >> it's big. Yeah. >> Along the door. >> Nobody says anything. Yeah. >> The footage shows Bianca moving through the area with a butcher knife in her hand. And still no one stops her or alerts the authorities. And that gap, exactly those few seconds are where the damage becomes irreversible. >> Just keep going over. Yeah. I mean, it's it I don't know if you saw, but it uh >> not good. >> No, which there wasn't. I don't know. I didn't think there was that much blood, but >> I didn't see that much on >> but it looked like it was enough. Did >> she put the knife on her? >> Yeah, she had it. Yeah, when I stopped it on there, she had it with her. I jumped out. She just dropped it, put her hands on it on her, though. >> I don't know. >> I didn't even look at it. More information comes in about Bianca and the question becomes harder to ignore. If she was unstable, why this child? Why strangers? Bianca was struggling with depression and had isolated herself from family and friends. Many people struggle with depression. Many withdraw from family, from friends, from the world. That pain is real and it deserves care and understanding. But the question this case quietly leaves behind is this. When someone is hurting, why does that pain sometimes spill outward turning into trauma for people who had nothing to do with it? >> All right, let's get this female IDed and let's get her run through leads. If we can find a vehicle, if how she ever got here, we can run some plates. Uh, and if that, uh, let us know here. I'll be on channel one. >> Samantha Warner come to remind me of this >> out of Cleveland. She had stopped at the station earlier. She was pushing a wheelchair with a suitcase in it. >> Copy. Does she have any vehicles associated with her? >> Dude, I just gave CPR to a baby. Man, >> here you're cover. The baby is rushed to the hospital, but despite everything that was done, he doesn't survive. The biggest thing is that the damage didn't stop with the victim. This woman has other kids who will now grow up remembering the day their brother never came back home. Bianca was transported to this police station, but there's hardly anything anyone can do right now. Bianca had a history of mental illness and she didn't respond to any questioning by the detectives. Finally, in October 2025, a Kyahoga County grand jury convicted Ellis on nine criminal counts, including aggravated murder, two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder, felonious assault, endangering children, misdemeanor theft. A jury rejected Ellis's defense argument of not guilty by reason of insanity, finding her legally responsible for her actions despite her history of serious mental illness. On October 27th, 2025, she was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. That'll do it for today.
