police at a driver's license checkpoint now i've checked every source and yes driver's license checkpoints are illegal dui checkpoints the supreme court in tennessee has deemed legal but not driver's license checkpoints if there's any any attorney in tennessee that wants to help me clear this up in the comment section please let me know let's take a look driver's license checkpoint you got your license on you uh a driver's license checkpoint yes sir uh is that legal do you have your driver's license on you uh i prefer not to show it okay pull over there pull right in front of my car for what to get a citation for what was the citation for for not giving me a license uh i don't have to give you a license if i'm not suspected of a crime man pull over in front of my car please if i get a citation right now yes sir please how you doing sir good job you're great for the highway it's a driver's license checkpoint okay so we can see your license with you i don't think that's legal sir it is legal and unfortunately we're not gonna be able to let you drive from here uh without seeing it okay well i'm not gonna show you any identification sir these are illegal okay hey you sit tight for me for a second okay yes sir going to give me a citation and not letting me leave from here wow sir we were yes sir sir hey sir all right as we explain as i had already explained this is the driver's license checkpoint that's right um and we need to we're gonna need to see your driver's license to prove that you are a valid operator to operate on the roadways within the state of tennessee yes sir and unfortunately unless you show proof that you have a license we're not really able to let you leave from here okay well the fourth amendment says i don't have to provide any of that sir you took a note to the constitution to uphold that fourth amendment did you not sir i'm not going to somebody check points are legal in the state of tennessee i need checkpoints they are not legal you cannot just stop somebody and demand to see their id under penalty of you know prosecution you can't just sit here and demand to see my id when you don't suspect me of any crime whatsoever you can't hold a checkpoint just to sit here and ask people for their identification for no reason whatsoever there's no reason for this at all okay what we'll need to see is your driver's license sir i'm not going to show provide you any driver's license we can't let you leave from here without it uh well i mean that's what would you do if i didn't have a driver's license sir would you let me leave here then and write me a citation if i did have a license i didn't have it with me then what would you if i did have a license and didn't have it with me would you still let me leave if we were able to change it yes we would so that i'm not providing you with any identification today sir not for a driver's license yes sir i do okay if that's what you want to do i'd be more than happy to have my time in court with both of you guys or whoever here okay okay all right and and the the particular reason why you don't want to show your license as well the fourth amendment sir yes sir i have the right to travel in pain all right listen i was with you up until you said you had the right to travel of course you have the right to travel but you don't have the right to drive that would be a privilege so you need a driver's license i don't have the right to be secure my person's in effect sir i'd like to just be on my way actually if you're not going to charge me with a crime well here's the deal if you don't show a license you will be placed under arrest okay then i guess that's that's what we have to do here at the next month is this your vehicle sir if i'm under arrest i'd like to invoke my right to remain silent you just said that you were gonna arrest me i said if you're not gonna show up you said you were gonna arrest me no i didn't say you're under arrest okay forward to my mom please and then i mean the same you do not yes you are for what reason now because you fought crime can i talk you're refusing to show a driver's license is that a crime this is a driver's license unless i'm
