He's just walked into a killer's secret [music] body dump. >> And he's My son is not here. >> Is he Is he >> He's dead. He's dead. >> He thinks he's lost his son forever. Instead, he's about to discover that the son he's been searching for may be hiding something far more horrifying than he could ever imagine. >> Hello. Hello. Uh I don't know. 1630 LC Drive. Hello. >> [snorts] >> [ __ ] 1630 LC Drive. >> dead in my trailer. >> Okay. >> Uh 1630 LC Drive. >> Spell the street name for me, please. >> Uh uh L S I E Hello. >> Okay. Is Are you with the patient now? >> Sensing the urgency in the call, cops respond to the LC Drive, having no idea of the horror waiting for them. >> Copy. Come out and talk to us real quick, sir. Will you step outside for us? Is there anybody else What's going on? Is there anybody else in the home with us? >> Like what? Who? Where's the guy live that owns the trailer? >> That's Jeremy. >> Mhm. >> Okay, it's this house down here. >> The sight of officers at their doorstep catches the neighbors off guard. There's an immediate sense of alarm followed by relief when they realize the police aren't there for them. But the officers have come looking for Jeremy Aguilar, the man behind a disturbing 911 call made just minutes earlier. >> I am outside the I just walked into my trailer to look for my son and there's a kid dead in my trailer. I >> How old is this person? >> I have no idea. He's young. But probably Oh my god. >> About how long >> Oh [ __ ] >> And he's >> My son is not here. >> Is he Is he >> He's dead. He's dead. He has no legs and no arms. I don't know what the [ __ ] >> As officers search the adjoining house, they check for any signs of Rowdy, the son of 911 caller Jeremy, or anyone else who might still be inside. >> Unified police department, if you can hear me, make yourself known. >> Make yourself known. >> Unified police department. >> You hold those stairs, Val. >> Police department. >> I got the hallway, B. >> Got it. >> Let me just clear this. >> Okay. >> Police department. >> This one is good. Val, if you just hold right there, Chris now go down. >> Got a open door to the right. Open doors to the the left and >> I think there's three or four. >> Okay. >> There should be one kicked in, that's the >> There's multiple guns in here not secured. >> Okay. >> Police department. >> Ammunition. >> You good? >> Police department. check this out. >> Got you. We haven't cleared behind you yet. >> Back here? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> I'll do this door then. >> Clear. >> The house appears deserted. Officers find no sign of Rowdy or anyone else inside, leaving them with more questions than answers. >> Uh yeah, possibly, yeah. Possibly, yeah. I didn't see it, so you'll have to ask Bang, but it sounds like uh there might be some dried blood and stuff in one of the bedrooms, and a T-shirt. >> As police activity around the house intensifies, officers find the T-shirt discarded in the trash. Meanwhile, a concerned neighbor approaches the property, seemingly with some information to look into. >> I got it. >> What's up? >> My grandson was in that house. >> Okay. >> His name is Nicholas, but they call him Nick. >> Let me get it. Let me get it. Hold on for me. Does he live here? >> No, he lives We live on the corner down here. >> Can you give us a description of him? >> The neighbor then reveals that Nicholas, better known as Nick, is just 15 and a friend of Rowdy's. They live down the street, and earlier that morning, her Ring camera captured Nick leaving home and heading toward Rowdy's house. But now, he's missing, and repeated calls to his phone go unanswered. As she searches for a photo to show the officers, another officer pulls Rowdy's father aside for a private conversation, hoping to piece together what has happened. >> I That's my trailer. >> Okay, the trailer that's back there is your trailer. >> my son and him go in there and smoke cigarettes, and they get high once in a while. >> Okay. >> Marijuana. >> Okay. >> So, when Oh, this is his house. >> Sorry. It's It's all He >> Yeah. It's a bad thing. It's bad. >> We're just talking for a second. We're okay for now, but We need to talk to >> I will. Uh >> Sorry, go ahead. >> I where was I? I'm sorry. I'm a little lost. >> I totally understand. So, you own the trailer and you said your son and him, who do you mean by him? Nick? >> I think it's Nick. That's who I think it is. >> Who you think is in the trailer? >> Because I thought it was my son. I keep going in my head that maybe it was my cuz they have They have curly hair and that kid had curly hair. When I turned him over >> Those who know Rowdy describe him as a troubled teenager. He has dropped out of school and has been struggling with his parents' divorce. Although he works alongside his father in the family's concrete business, he has recently been missing work. Jeremy, meanwhile, says that the last time he heard from Rowdy was about 2:30 p.m. But since then, Rowdy has seemingly vanished. >> I know that >> Okay. >> I'm guessing that they got pretty drunk cuz I have a bottle of half gallon of tequila that was missing out of my bedroom. >> Okay. That he broke into. It was a different >> Yeah. No, yeah, you can tell. Trust me. The the door was broken into. But anyways, um and a bottle of peach schnapps was gone. >> Okay. >> Peach Crown. And they were on That was on his bed. The the the box. I saw that box on the bed. >> On Rowdy's bed? Okay. >> Um >> When Jeremy returns home, he discovers that his bedroom has been broken into. The state of the room suggests Rowdy had been trying to hide the fact that he'd stolen a bottle of liquor. Angry, but intent on confronting him, Jeremy sets out to find Rowdy. His search eventually leads him to the trailer where events take a far more disturbing turn. >> We're here to help you, okay? We're trying to figure this out. >> was all in the 228 to 245 range. >> Okay. >> But, so I asked him to put the package in and then I got came and I got home >> Mhm. >> I walked in the door and I was like, "Okay." So, I I knew something was off. And as I walked walked in, walked I walked into my office cuz I wanted I have a 3D printer going on. I wanted to see it. And when I walked by, I saw the crown on the freaking on his bed, a box crown. >> Okay. >> Crown, peach crown. It's like, "Son of a [ __ ] I left it I I my head I thought I left the door unlocked." >> As officers examined the body, they noticed distinctive tattoos that match Nick's description. The victim is confirmed to be 15-year-old Nick. And what began as a search for a missing teenager has now become a murder investigation. Attention quickly turns to Rowdy, but the officers don't have to search for him for long. By chance, they spot him in the parking lot of a nearby Target, giving them their first opportunity to confront him. >> Does that feel better? How do the handcuffs feel? >> Okay. >> We'll be right back, okay? >> That feels [ __ ] fantastic. >> By 8:00 p.m., detectives are ready to sit down with Rowdy for an interview. They want answers, but Rowdy has no intention of simply sitting around and waiting for them. But, at the very next moment, Rowdy does something unexpected. >> Hey, hey, hey, hey. >> I just I'm sorry. I don't like being alone. It freaks me out. >> Okay. >> I'm sorry. >> I'm right here. How'd you get out of that? >> I don't know. And my hand is >> It's killing you? Okay. Okay. >> This clearly shows Rowdy's aggressive personality and the detective realizes that interrogating him is not going to be an easy task. >> [gasps] >> I'm going to wait till my partner gets back before we talk, okay? Yeah, you don't like being alone, huh? A lot of people don't like that. I get that. I don't know how, but he like pulled that off the wall. I don't know how he did that, but >> I was just freaking out. >> He just doesn't like being alone, so he came out like right when you walked out the door. So, I have no idea how that happened. We'll just stand here with him real quick and >> And you can't do that. >> Soon the detectives come to interrogate Rowdy and from there things start turning darker. >> So, let's start at the beginning. Kind of give me the rundown of your day today. Like what you did today. Like >> at my friend's house. >> Whose Whose house is that? >> Just a buddy of mine. >> What's his name? >> His name? >> Well, yeah, I need to Her name. >> Is it a girl? Yeah. >> Dolores. Dolores? Okay. How long were you there? >> Just for a little I was in the morning. There in the morning and then left, started walking home. >> Okay. So, from what time in the morning were you at Dolores's house to to now? >> Probably like 9:00 in the morning to I don't know what time it is right now. >> Uh it's 8:20 p.m. >> 8:20, so I probably left around 7:30. >> 7:30 p.m.? >> Yeah. >> And you got there at what time today? >> I got there at 9:00 this morning. >> So, why why did you think I mean how how do you injure your hand? >> How did I injure my hand? I was helping them cook food and I cut my hand. >> Yeah? Okay. All right. And then um so what what kind of food were they cooking I guess? >> of food? >> Yeah. >> They were making ribs. >> They were making >> cutting the ribs. >> Yeah. >> My hand >> Almost slipped didn't it? >> Blood is clearly visible on Rowdy's pants, socks, and shoes. If he was really at his girlfriend's house making food as he claims, one question stands out. Why hasn't he cleaned himself up? >> Rowdy at this, you know, here's kind of the we don't have you in custody for a reason. I mean we don't have you in custody for no reason. Okay? Do you know why we arrested you today? >> No. >> You have no idea? >> No. Cop just said you fit the description and just puts me in the car. So. >> Okay. All right. Um do you know uh Nick? >> Nick? >> Yeah. You don't know anybody by the name of Nick or Nicholas? >> No. >> No. It's kind of a big guy. >> I don't know him. >> You never met him? >> No. >> No. Okay. >> Maybe I knew a Nick in Taylorsville. When I used to go there but >> Yeah. Like what do you mean? Like Taylorsville High or >> Yeah. >> Are you not in school anymore? >> Uh trying to do online. >> Are you >> Trying to set it up at least. >> Okay. Okay. So, what are the um let's back up a little bit. I want to talk about what what are the thoughts that you're you're saying you're having some thoughts and you need to get some help and >> Well >> You're actually I don't I don't know what what what kind of thoughts we're talking about here. >> I wasn't saying any thoughts. Family problems. >> Oh, what's the problem with your family? >> Well, my dad's an alcoholic and he drinks a lot and my mom she's never really there. >> Yeah. >> And uh she doesn't actually help me out with whether it be work or just trying to sit online. And my dad is just kind of a prick. >> Yeah. They can do that sometimes. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Is that all Is that all you you need help with? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Okay, so you you don't have a a friend named Nick who comes over to the house or does anything like that, hangs out with you? >> Never met him. >> No. >> Mhm. >> So Rowdy we we found we found Nick. Okay? We found Nick in your dad's trailer. Okay. Who? >> Who's Nick? Like what You keep saying Nick. >> Right. Okay. We know that you're friends. We know that you know him. We know that he came to your house cuz it's on your Ring doorbell. >> Investigators now have concrete evidence linking Nick and Rowdy. Jeremy's Ring doorbell footage captures the two teenagers entering the house together that very morning, confirming that they knew each other and had been together just hours before Nick's death. >> We know these things. We're not asking you these questions, okay? Here's the thing, I'm going to treat you with respect. Okay? I want to get your story. I want to know why what happened. Okay? >> I wasn't there. >> Nick Nick, unfortunately, is is deceased. Okay? >> I I don't know who this Nick you're talking about. I wasn't even there. I was coming home. >> Okay. And so if I talk to Dolores, she'll tell you she'll tell us that you were there all day. >> She did, yeah. >> Okay. >> I talked to your dad. I talked to Jeremy. >> Okay. >> So he told us all about it. >> Never met him. Like Nick, I've never met Nick. I don't know who this Nick is. I was coming >> That's not That's not what Jeremy said. So we talked to your dad. >> Okay. >> I mean you know This doesn't look so good, man. I mean got a we got a person that's dead. >> There's a major problem with Rowdy's account. Several hours of his timeline remain unexplained, leaving investigators to question where he was and whether he's hiding something far more sinister. >> Let's back up to what you did cuz I need I need like an hour by hour. So, I need at at 10:00 >> woke up at her house. >> You woke up at her house. >> Yeah, I slept over. >> the night. >> Yeah, I was sleeping. >> Okay. >> That's why I was coming back so I can get some like change my clothes. >> Okay. >> My backpack I have clothes in there and I was going to switch them out. >> Okay. >> It's really dirty. >> Okay. >> That I was there at 9:00, woke up. >> Mhm. >> Like around 10:00 like you want hour by hour. Okay. At 10:00 we had breakfast, she made eggs. Not When I say she, her mom did. Her mom made eggs and bacon and then after that the next hour we were just watching a movie. It was uh the new Mortal Kombat movie. The new one that just came out. It's actually pretty decent. >> So, what video are you watching? >> And then till 11:00 kept watching that movie. >> Mhm. >> And then around 12:00 we had she made a sandwich for me. I don't know why. >> What kind of sandwich? >> Just a bologna. >> Okay. >> Bologna and cheese. >> Okay. >> And then around 2:00, we just kept watching movies. Watched The Office on Netflix. >> So, what time did she make you the sandwich? >> 12:00. >> 12:00. So, we missed the we missed the 1:00 to 2:00. So, what what happened at 1:00? >> We just kept watching Office. >> The Office? >> From 12:00 to 2:00. >> Okay. All right. >> And then around 3:00, we started having the idea of making ribs and wings. We got the wings out, we had to wait an hour for them to thaw out and then we kind of started them at 4:00. >> Okay. All right. Um So, now we're at we're at 5:00. What did you do at 5:00? >> 5:00 that's when I started walking back. >> Okay. Where does Dolores live? >> She lives on somewhere on 54th. I don't know the exact street. Couldn't tell you that. >> All right. And where where did the where did the police arrest you at? >> Right right at Target on Redwood. >> Okay. And so it took you 3 hours to walk from her house on 54th to Target on Redwood? >> Took me 3 hours? >> Well, yeah, cuz it's 8:00. We took you into custody at about 7:00. >> I thought you said it was around 6:00. >> No. No, it's about 7:00. Uh 7:00 about 10 minutes to 8:00, maybe quarter to 8:00. Maybe 20 minutes to 8:00. >> 7:39 to be exact. >> Yeah. >> The detectives now change their approach. The focus is no longer just on piecing together what happened to Nick. They need to get Rowdy to confront the evidence against him and reveal what really happened that day. >> Okay. We investigate, you know, people that have had violent things done to them. All right. We found this guy, Nick. Do you know where your dad's trailer is on the property there? >> Mhm. >> You don't know that trailer that belongs to your dad that's like behind his house? >> That's his trailer? I actually didn't know that. I thought it was the people's right across the house. Like the big white house. I thought that was their trailer. >> Oh, you thought it was their trailer? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Never used it. >> No? >> Mhm. >> Never been in there? >> No. >> No. Okay. All right. So, um have you ever been uh you've So, you've never stepped foot in that trailer at all? >> No. >> No, never? >> Never been in there. >> So, there shouldn't be anything of yours found in there? >> Mhm. >> Rowdy, I'm I'm I'm having a hard time with your story, man. I am I'll I'll be honest with you. I'm going to be straight with you if you're straight with me, okay? >> Of course, yeah. >> All right. >> That's the one thing >> I would I would I would I wouldn't lie to you. >> Well, I Believe it or not, man, people lie to the cops all the time. And in this situation, I completely understand why you would. >> I I No, I would never I would never lie to a cop. I Okay. My dad's always told me to never lie to a cop. >> Okay. Well, based on the investigation that I'm looking at right now, and based on the the things I'm seeing, >> Yeah. >> I think you're kind of lying to me right now. Okay. I'm not I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm not trying to be mean. >> I I never said you were. >> Here's the problem, is that there's there's a young man, okay, he's fortunately not much older >> How old is he? Holy [ __ ] >> Yeah, he lost his life, okay? He lost his life in that gray trailer. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> All right. >> According According to our witnesses According to our witnesses, you're the last person to see him alive. Okay? According to >> All right. >> his family According to your family, >> Okay. >> he was at your home. Okay? >> Well, I wasn't there today. I was at my mom's house yesterday. >> We already talked to your dad. >> Yeah. >> Your dad already told us you were there. Your dad already told us that you called him several times from home. From the LC address. So, we already know all about it. Rowdy. So, we want to know what happened tonight. We want to know You know what I want to know? I want to know where Nick's body parts are. Where are his body parts? >> I don't know what you're talking I don't know what you're talking about. I >> I want to know where his Nick's body parts are. >> I never met Nick. I don't know this Nick. >> All right. I want to know I already talked to Jeremy, and he already told me that you hang out with Nick in that trailer all the time. >> I didn't even know the right Dutch trailer. >> I disagree because your friends with him on social media, okay? You're friends with him on on a lot of your social media. >> Like what? >> Here's the other thing, too, is is that your cell phone, okay? You left it. >> It's not my phone. I have a I have a new phone coming in. I have a I have a new iPhone. >> You know how I know it's it's your phone cuz your dad told us. Your dad told us this is Nick's phone. >> your phone number, and it and it rang from inside the trailer. >> Well, that I That's not my phone. I'm getting a new iPhone from my from my sister. You can call her. >> Rowdy. >> I'm not lying to you. I promise. >> Rowdy, come on, man. >> I promise. >> you think that he deserves at least >> Of course, if it if it is a dead person that >> is dead What do you think should happen to the person that that did this to to Nick? >> What do I think should happen to him? >> Mhm. >> I don't know. I what >> I mean, that's the thing, man. Is that >> know. I couldn't >> Don't don't you think when when you prefer that if if the situation was reversed, if we had the person that we are pretty sure did this, okay? >> Mhm. >> Would come clean and just own own the mistake? >> And we don't know what happened. >> We want to get your side of the story. That's it, man. >> I don't know what to think. >> We don't know what happened. We we We know what we found in there. >> Yeah. >> Okay? And you know, we just want to we want to get the truth. We want to know what happens for not not only for not only for Nick, but for his family. >> Yeah, of course. And I'm telling you the truth. I would never lie to you. I don't like lying to cops. You can >> Okay. >> My I'm surprised my dad has told or said that that's my phone because that was my old phone, but I haven't used it. I've never like I barely use it. >> Okay. >> Like I said, I've been getting I'm getting a new iPhone. >> So, that How do you know what the phone is that we're talking about then? >> Cuz you brought up a phone. >> Mhm. We said it's your phone. But you pretty much have an alibi already made up for it. You pretty much have an excuse as to why your phone would be found the scene of murder. >> I never said why it would be there. I just said that I have a new phone and that was my old phone. >> Look at your socks, dude. >> It's dirt. >> Uh that's blood, my friend. >> That's blood. >> And it comes down. >> comes down. >> Blood. What happened to Nick? Don't know. >> Don't treat us like we're stupid. >> I don't know. I Why would I do that? I have no reason to do that. I swear. >> Is this a serious >> Yeah, of course it's serious. I don't know who Nick is. I've never met this Nick. I was never there. I was at my mom's house, and then I went over to my ex-girlfriend's house today. >> The detective understands now that Rowdy is not going to break easily. So, they change their approach to confront him. And here, things start to crack. >> You know, we we look at trying to help you or you know, and hold people accountable, okay? Do you believe that people should be held accountable for the things that they did wrong? >> No. >> You don't believe that people should be held accountable for the things >> Sometimes. >> Sometimes? >> It depends on what it is. >> Sure. Well, give me some things that you feel like you shouldn't be held accountable for. >> Well, depends on the situation. >> Sure. >> Like, say if you're with some friends and you kind of get peer pressured into doing something. You don't really Yes, you have full control over your body, but everybody kind of just kind of hard not to fall under pressure for some reason. >> Sure. >> Especially for me. >> Yeah. >> I don't know why. >> Is that kind of what happened today? >> You know, it's it's not it's it's it's it's a lie, dude. Come on. >> It's not a lie. >> Seriously, it's a lie. >> It's not. >> Okay. All right. I'm just telling you, man, when I when I prove you wrong, I hope someday we can sit down and have this conversation again. >> Me, too. >> And you tell me exactly what happened, cuz I know you did it. >> told you what happened. >> We want the truth. >> You want the truth? >> you the truth. >> No, you're not. >> Yes, I am. I would never lie to you guys. I I've always been >> right now. >> I've always been told to tell the truth to cops. >> So, tell us the truth. Tell us what happened, dude. >> You're not. Yes, I am. I'm not lying to you. >> Where are his body parts? >> I don't know. I've never I have no idea. >> Once I get up and walk out of this room, that's your last chance, dude. I've got a few more minutes of patience, and then mine's going to be exhausted, and then that's it. So, once I walk out once he walks out it's going to be the last chance you got. >> For what? >> To tell your side, to tell what happened. >> I already told you how things happened because of that. >> Yeah. And if there's a reason it makes more sense to us, and it makes more sense to the DA's office who's going to who will be filing the charges. If you just sit here and tell us no, no, no, no, no, but we already do know because we can prove things, then it just makes it look worse for you, man. I just I mean, you can tell me whatever you want to. You can You can tell me you know nothing, but I already know what happened because I I was at the scene, and I already saw the proof. So. >> I don't know anything. >> Okay. It's up to you, man. This is the when the the the couple hours that we have to talk to you or that Jeff has to talk to you cuz Jeff is a very caring guy. So is Mitch, actually. >> Yeah. >> And uh and this is the only opportunity you're going to have to to give your reason because after they book you into jail or wherever they're going to book you tonight, DT or whatever, I don't I don't know what they're going to do. >> Yeah. >> It's done after that. Then you have no chance. No chance. >> Okay. Well >> It's going to happen. So. >> I did it. >> Say that again? >> I >> I I'm here for you, man. This is the best time to talk about it. >> Finally, Rowdy begins to crack. He admits that he met Nick that day, but he refuses to go any further. For detectives, it's a small break through, but the most important questions about his involvement and execution remain unanswered. >> There's a reason, but there had to be a reason. So, why did you do it? Why >> I didn't do anything. >> You just said you did. >> No, I didn't. >> Dude, this is the time. >> What do you mean this is the time? >> Because if, after we book you in to DT, because we already have the evidence at the scene, we're not going to have a chance to talk again, and the DA's going to think the worst. I don't think you're a bad dude. I think something bad happened, okay? And I And I understand that, and but the DA's office, because you haven't told us anything, is going to think the worst. They're going to think that you're some animal or something, when you're not. Something bad Something bad happened, and you were trying to probably make the situation fixed or something. I don't know. That's kind of how I look at it, you know. >> Okay, well Can you bring him in here? >> You can tell me if you want to, or do you feel better with him? You can just tell me, it's okay. >> Well, I um I was hanging out with him at and it was a I only met him once. >> Mhm. >> And I should have told him that, but I didn't. And that's the only like I've only met him just like during school. >> Okay. You should have told him what? >> That I've met him like once. I I only told him that I've seen him. Never said that I've met him. >> I know that you were there, cuz I can prove you were there. It was not me, I'm not the one doing the case. But the people The investigators that are working the case, they already have the proof that shows that you were there, that shows what That actually shows what happened. >> I wish I could help, but I can't. >> you just a minute ago you said you did. And but then And then you kind of backed off, and then I was taught maybe we had some kind of a breakthrough, and >> Yeah. >> you're going to be honest with me, because I mean, I People tell me false stories all the time, and it's not I mean, I'm used to it, so. >> People never told me false stories. >> People tell me false stories all the time. >> People want to be I think you know, I've never actually felt what it feels like to be alone. >> Really? >> Like really alone. You know, I've never felt that. >> Well, then how did you feel that today? >> No. I just had it just now in the room. Yeah. >> [snorts] >> Did you feel alone when you were with your friend in the trailer? >> I was never with him. >> Well, I know you were, but I just I wonder if that had something to do with what happened is you felt alone and things got out of hand or something. Maybe he did something that was not good. Maybe he did something that irritated you. I don't know. That he shouldn't have done that. Maybe the whole thing could be his fault. I don't know. >> Well, >> [snorts] >> I don't know what to tell you. >> Yeah, I think it probably was his fault. And that's the thing is that I can't I can't make I can't change the DA's mind at all. Even Even though I think it was probably his fault and something weird happened. >> This is what happened. I was in the trailer with him. >> [sighs and gasps] >> And I don't know why, but I feel like I was being recorded. Mhm. Like I felt like he was like recording everything I said. And when I realized that, I kind of got mad at him and I yelled at him. >> Mhm. >> [clears throat] >> And he so like he got really pissed off just like out of nowhere. And he grabbed a knife. And he kind of like jabbed it at me. Like but I missed it and I caught it with my hand. >> Oh, is that where that [snorts] cut's from? >> Yeah. >> Oh, okay. >> And then I saw another knife and I thought he like I genuinely thought he was trying to kill me, so >> Mhm. Okay. I can understand that. Then, I told you >> reason why I didn't come clean at the first start cuz I was freaking out. I didn't know what to do. >> Right. >> And I just left. And then, after thinking about it over for a while, I realized maybe just coming back [snorts] to the scene is a bad decision. >> Okay, so after he grabbed the it started getting crazy and grabbed that knife and came out Yeah, it cut your hand. And you you found another one? You know, you found another one? >> there was two. >> And so did So, did you know, in defending yourself, did you Where did you Where did you What did you do with the knife? Cuz you were defending yourself. What did you do with it? >> I just swung. >> Swung at him? Where did it hit him? Do you remember? Okay. Did he just go down or Did it happen a few times? Or is it just just one time? All right. Well, see, I told you >> Rowdy has been trying to portray the killing as an act of self-defense, suggesting he had no choice but to do what he did. But detectives shift their attention to what happened afterward. If Rowdy truly believed he was defending himself, why didn't he call 911 or seek help? Instead, the evidence suggests that he might have tried to conceal the murder and cover his tracks. >> I don't know. Well, I mean >> The part that I'm talking about now is the part that is that were the people in our scene our friends people can really prove that you did something afterwards. And it was it because you were afraid of someone finding him there? Were you cuz you getting rid of certain parts? Is that what happened? >> Yeah. >> So, how did How did How did you actually get his like different body parts off? Well, how was that? What did you have to do? >> Nothing. >> What do you mean? No, but how did you get those parts off though? I I already told you what we know. I mean, they've got they already have the stuff at the scene. And you've already told me that what happened. So, I mean, I understand trying to to be I understand being scared and trying to maybe get rid of what looks so bad, but in reality it's not that bad because you had to defend yourself. Huh? >> I didn't do it. >> I don't know. I understand the trauma, man. >> I don't know what I actually did. >> What did you actually do? >> I watched you do it. >> Oh, you did? >> Yeah. >> So, what Why did I >> It's like a video in my head. >> Okay, so you So, you saw someone else do it. Was it specifically me or somebody just somebody else? >> Someone kind of looked like you. >> What did that person do though? >> They were crying? >> Yeah. Well, yeah. >> I can understand that. Okay, and that person that was crying, did they Are they the ones that tried to get rid of those little both body parts? Is that what the person that you saw? >> Well, I don't know anything about body parts. >> But while the interview continues, investigators make a major breakthrough outside the room. A search of the Aguilar property leads them to black and white garbage bags in a field behind the house. Inside, they discover more of Nick's remains. With this new evidence in hand, detectives return to Rowdy with even more pressure to explain what really happened. >> It's time to tell us what happened. >> We found his body parts now. I couldn't tell. >> Okay. So, the last part of the puzzle is put together. We just recovered all the parts. Okay? So, now now you really put yourself in a bad position. >> Rowdy continues to stick to his version of events, refusing to give detectives the answers they're looking for. Meanwhile, an officer enters to photograph him and collect DNA swabs, adding another step to the growing investigation against him. >> Let me take a photo of it. Looks like you've got some injuries yourself, huh? >> Mhm. Yeah, look at his hands. >> If you can just turn that way. Okay, and then just keep on turning around. >> A doctor then draws a blood sample from Rowdy and checks his blood pressure. As he waits to be taken to jail, Rowdy begins making comments that offer a glimpse into what he believes may have triggered the attack. Potentially revealing more about what happened between him and Nick. >> You ever thought about doing military stuff or >> Yeah. >> Cuz you're like >> I would want to, but I'm just I'm kind of scared of dying. >> Huh? >> I shouldn't really say kind of. >> I'm almost terrified of dying. >> Huh? >> So, not knowing what's going to happen after. >> Ah. You have any beliefs about what's there and what is not there? >> So. So. >> By the time officers take Rowdy to jail, they have enough evidence to pursue a murder charge even without a full confession. Investigators have recovered a knife from the trailer that matches the other knives found inside the Aguilar home. More importantly, it is consistent with the weapons used to inflict Nick's 26 stab wounds concentrated around his head and neck. The Ring doorbell footage helps investigators piece together the timeline. At 10:09 a.m., Nick and Rowdy enter the house together. By 1:20 p.m., Rowdy is seen leaving in the blood-stained t-shirt later recovered from the trash. Just 10 minutes later, he carries black and white garbage bags into the field behind the property. Inside those same bags, investigators discover Nick's remains. Somewhere in those 3 hours, Nick is murdered, and the evidence points directly to Rowdy. In September 2025, Rowdy pleaded guilty to aggravated murder with a mental health condition, a charge carrying a minimum sentence of 25 years in prison. Yet even as the case moves towards its conclusion, one crucial question remains unanswered. Why did he kill Nick? Rowdy never reveals his motive, leaving investigators and Nick's loved ones without a complete explanation of why he killed his own friend. Thanks for watching.
