Welcome to Facts or Frauds. Are you Mr. Hannah? Yeah. All right. This is case number 2024 CR 420. State of Kansas versus uh John Hannah. Mr. Hannah, it looks like you've been charged with a one count of sexual battery. That is a That's a class A misdemeanor that can carry up to a year in the county jail and a fine of up to $2,500. Um So, let's talk about how you might want to handle your case. Um this is just the time just to uh let you know what your charges are. Um Did you get a copy of the charges against you? Of course not. I haven't even been found guilty on the on the sanction the write up while I'm in here. Well, of course you're not going to be found guilty yet because Well, I mean I don't mean to interrupt you, but that's the procedure. And I mean we can talk to the Department of Justice about the jurisdiction of the case as well. We can go we can take it to that extent, but you can go ahead and continue. I would like to and I would like to challenge the jurisdiction on the charge. I want to state that for the record as well. Do you continue? My I'm my apology. Mr. Hannah, I'm going to run this court, not you. And you can start off with the sovereign citizen crap about jurisdiction and everything else if you want to. I'm saying I'm not that. I'm just saying but um But you're not going to get it. the Department of Justice as well cuz I know who the director of Department of Justice is, right? That's That's just fine. You can do whatever you want. I'm What are we talking to him now? Anyway We're waiting on an indictment on you. Then you've been charged with one count of a sexual battery, class A misdemeanor. Uh are you going to have an attorney represent you or do you want the court to appoint somebody to represent you? You can appoint me one and I have I'll have an attorney later on when I find one. Okay, I'm going to go ahead and give you a hearing date on the misdemeanor control docket. Your next hearing is going to be November 18th at 9:00 with Judge Webster. Uh that can be by Zoom. Mr. Canfield, what's the state's recommendation on bond here? Your Honor, in addition to the sexual battery against a deputy, the defendant also has been convicted of aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery, and aggravated escape from custody. So at this Those aren't all those cases. The state's recommendation will be a $7,500 cash or surety bond. Those Those charges aren't even on my record. Oh, but they are on your record, Mr. Hannah. They are on your record as well as that hold for the United States Marshal Service. I believe the detainment or the uh Very well, the court's going to go ahead and set the bond at $7,500 surety. He may be facing a grand jury now. If you can uh sounds like you can afford your own counsel, so uh I'll let you go ahead and see about doing that. Uh if you can't afford it when you get around to your next hearing, and ask the judge to appoint counsel for you. But I've given you a your next hearing date. You know what your bond is. Um you'll need to stay with the sheriff until such time as you are able to execute your bond. And so we didn't address the jurisdiction uh issue either, right? The fact that you The fact that you're where you are and I'm where I am means that I have jurisdiction over you. me. I'm putting my hands Don't don't start with this. Sorry. I'm not you aren't we we can we I'm good. I can leave now? What What did you just say before that? I said I mean you can't establish your your jurisdiction of residence, but uh am I good to leave now? Yes, you're free to go now. Have a good day. All right, you got to give them credit.
