He just got a stabbing and I was like, "What the [ __ ] you doing, man?" I ran over there. I ran over there. I touch like touched her neck to feel her pulse, you know, cuz she was kind of like, you know, like you're going, there was just blood everywhere. And like as I would touch her pulse, whatever, she like leaned up and like scratched the mess out of my face. I grabbed her hands and she was just like, "I love you." This is Richie Wilder. His ex-wife, Angela, is dead. And this is his current wife, Cindy, and she is in denial. >> I think it's just people get so wrapped up on everything. Like, just move on with your life. Like, have you ever heard one of Taylor Swift's [ __ ] songs about a breakup? [ __ ] move on with your life. Like, [ __ ] >> Like, Adele is just as bad. I'm going to call you a thousand times. No, [ __ ] don't. And by the end of this video, you'll see how both of them unraveled. >> But he's also been having sex with her since at least >> Well, I want to see proof of that. Do you have it on video? >> I don't have it on video. I've got tons of Oh, it's her in front of me. >> I don't care what she [ __ ] says, >> Sydney. I think we have We have her on video, don't we? >> We have Joanne on video. >> We interviewed her in her apartment. >> I don't want to see a video of them saying [ __ ] I want to see a [ __ ] video of them having sex with my husband. That's what I want. I don't believe you until I see that. >> That's That's ridiculous. >> You're about to watch two people try to lie their way through a murder investigation and then you'll see the moment they realize they can't. >> 911. What is the address of your emergency? >> 51916th Street. I just got home. My back door has kicked in and my girl ain't answering the phone. >> 5191 16th Street. What direction? >> Yeah. >> Northwest. >> Uh northwest. right across from uh Longfellow Elementary. >> Okay. What's your name? >> My name's Christopher Jackson. My son's inside with her and everything. I'm about to go in and see what the [ __ ] is going on. >> Okay. Why don't you just wait for officers? I'll get him over there. >> All right. Thank you. >> When police arrived, they found Angela had been stabbed 44 times, but their child was safe and asleep in the next room. >> Right here is one sec. Oh, yes, sir. >> Yep. >> Hello. Hi. Are you Richie? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Hi, Richie. My name is Detective Christ Matias. This is Sergeant Detective Dave Griffin. >> How are you, Richie? >> The police department. Um, what's your last name again? I >> Wilder. >> Wilder. Okay. Um, I'm not sure what patrol told you or the officers told you when they came up to the house to get you. >> I needed to come down and answer questions. >> Did they tell you what about? Well, I had some got some messages today, text and Facebook messages, and then I saw on Facebook that something happened. I don't know. I know my uh wife when she drove my to school today, she saw some cars out there. And then my neighbor, who also goes to the same school, called me and said that uh there was tape out there. So, >> when we said out there, you're talking about >> my ex-wife's house. >> Angela's house. >> Angela's house. Sorry. >> Okay. Um Yeah. So, we just want to talk to you about what's going on and and see what you have. >> Formality. Everybody gets Miranda Miranda, right? So, you understand that, right? So, I'll read it to you. It's Miranda War. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. Would you like to talk with us about what we're looking into? >> Yeah, I want to kind of know what's going on. >> Um, well, we don't really know >> except for what the news is posted to. Sorry. >> Okay. What did the news post? >> Um, I messed the word up. Uh cuz the my neighbor sent me the article. They said um that 7:21 somebody called the police and that's uh how do you say it? Susceptible um suspicious death. >> Okay. That's what the news posted. >> Mhm. >> Oh, and you saw that where >> on Well, my neighbor sent it to me. It was on that uh was it KX News on Facebook? >> Okay. Okay. Um >> cuz some people were commenting so I was trying to figure out what was going on. But >> right, >> that's the last post they did. That's what it was. That's all I got to see. >> Have you tried contacting your ex-wife? >> Uh, no. That was my first thought. But when my wife first went to the school or dropped my daughter off, she said there were police cars out there. Like, no offense, my ex-wife. I assumed that it was like her playing games in a sense. Like, I kind of was expecting to get a phone call or the cops come to my house to accuse me of something or investigate something or does that make sense? Like >> or you'd have to explain to me why you got that vibe. I guess I don't know you guys well enough. >> Oh, sorry. Just from the past like was it she called social services quite a bit. It says that we're doing this or doing that and social services they come over the police will come over and investigate it and then um where they talk to us and talk to kids. We're mainly and then it just it didn't go anywhere. So >> no offense to my ex-wife. That's how Richie warms up for what sounds a lot like the psychological equivalent of a smirk before a stab. It's a classic misdirection, and it won't be the last. Richie Wilder is about to recount how he learned something was happening at Angela's house. He brings up his current wife, Cynthia Wilder. And trust me, you'll want to remember that name. >> And are you married right now? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Okay. What What's your wife's name? >> S. Well, do you want to what she goes by or her name? Um, what's her name? Her legal name? >> Cynthia. >> Cynthia. Okay. Um, where's Cindy at right now? >> Uh, teaching school. >> Okay. Where does she teach at? >> Louis Clark. >> And what grade does she teach? >> Kindergarten. >> Kindergarten. Busy lady. >> I didn't. >> Have you been in touch with Cindy this morning about coming down here to talk to us? >> Yep. I just uh cuz she contacted me about the cop cars and then I when Janelle told me that there was a ribbon around the house. I didn't know what she meant at first, but the police tape or whatever. Then I texted like, "Hey, something more going on. There's police tape or whatever around the house." And then um oh, and then the when the detectives came to the house said, "Hey, can you come down?" I told her, I was like, "Hey, I'm going to get the kids Janelle just in case you get off work by the time I get home and throw away Janelle. I'm going to go down and then we'll answer some questions." And who's Janelle? >> That's our neighbor. >> That's your neighbor. Okay. >> So, what time did your wife call you this morning? Do you remember? >> She Well, when she takes to school drops, she always calls me. >> Mhm. >> Just talk to She goes to get coffee or goes to school. >> What time does she drop off? >> Around 8ish. >> 8ish. Okay. >> And Cindy's always the one that drops off. Okay. >> She drops her off, I pick her up. So, cuz she doesn't usually get out of school when she's has her kids get rid of it. It takes a little longer. So, >> okay. I'm going to take I'm going to write notes while we're talking because I can't remember everything. A lot of stuff I got to stuff. >> If you have to, you know, re ask, it's fine, too. >> So, do you know anything about Angela? That's why we're at her house right now? >> I don't except for what I read on the news or what the news said. >> Okay. >> I don't know. >> Have you called anybody or asked any questions at all? >> I did. I asked a coworker contacted me said, "Hey, what's going on? So, I was like, I don't know. And I don't know >> your coworker or >> my coworker. >> Where do you work at? >> Uh, Trinity Hospital. >> And what do you do there? >> A CNA. >> Okay. >> There's a lot of tangled history here. Full of failed relationships, betrayal, and custody battles. And if you caught our last episode with Christopher Jackson, you know this wasn't some random act. Quick heads up, I'm giving away some killer merch to my subscribers. Keychains, stickers, even a Stranger Stories LED light box. Uh, it's free to enter. Just click the link in the description below. Now, let's get back to the case. >> When's the last time you talked to Angela? >> Oh, I can pull up the email. We only talk through emails. >> Okay. So, we don't we don't have any contact through text when we're not really supposed to or through uh phone calls. >> And why is that? >> Her and I didn't have the best marriage and then or the best divorce. So, the judge Well, we put it in our divorce decree that we would only contact through email to kind of help like the whole he said, she said, you know, like if we only do phone calls, then I could say, "Oh, um, she said this." she can say, "Oh, he said this." And it's a battle with uh with text and email and it's written down and you can see what the other person says. So, because we've been to court on and off quite a bit >> and so that way it's like documented in a sense. That makes sense. So, and then um 2013 the judge is like just email. Don't even >> he's like you can text but email's probably the best way to go. That's how we contact you. There's just through email. That's been consistent since 2013. >> Yes, ma'am. Okay. >> I get some text messages from her here and there, but I just ignore them pretty. >> And what were you guys going through court for? >> Always time. >> Any any of the times that you went through court? Why all of a sudden you have court involved? >> Oh. Um >> your marriage? >> How do you say it? Like um I don't know. She always accuses us of things if that makes sense. And then, or maybe not. Um, how do you explain it? >> It's always about the kids. It's always about Custy and the kids. The voice in the background is of Angela's kid, who was in the house when the killer attacked, while Richie sits in one room being questioned. Christopher, Angela's fiance, is in another room at the same station holding the boy, who will never see his mother again. like uh September 9th or not Sep September 2013 we went to court pretty sure it was September August but I hadn't seen my kids in 3 months cuz she filed a no contact order on me saying I was harassing her cuz in the email she put um I was giving her some information she's like don't email me again so I I was like well you need this information so I emailed her again I was like here's the rest or whatever applied so she came down the police station filed a no contact order for harassment and they put it, you know, um not put out me, served me the So, we never even saw each other. So, it kind of worked out for the best. And uh >> so, >> was there no contact order in place? >> There was >> there is there was >> there was >> until when? >> Till we went to court in September 2013 because she even though she put no contact order, she was still texting me and emailing me and texting me. So, the judge was like, "Ah, I'm not going to." >> So, what's happened since September of 2013? uh just the same like random emails of like, oh, you're doing this wrong or this is wrong or I'm going to take you to court. Oh, you violated this and taking you to court for this. Pretty much it's how it works. So, some sometimes I respond, sometimes I I just leave it all alone. There's no point. >> What did you want? You >> I want to know the last time that you talked with Angela. >> Okay, quit loading. What email service do you use? >> Uh, Gmail. >> Gmail. >> Yep. >> Does she use Gmail as well? >> She uses Yahoo. >> Yahoo. Okay. >> So, the last time we would have talked cuz she did the last reply would have been November 12th, 2015 at 11:58 a.m. was the last uh email I got from her. >> What does that email say? >> Uh, you want the beginning? It's like a threepart chain. >> Go ahead. >> If that's okay. >> Well, what's it about? Oh, so she just sent me this link saying from Huffington Post for divorced moms say signs dad is a narcissist. >> Narcissist. >> Narcissist. There you go. >> And then uh like I said, sometimes I reply, sometimes I don't. This time I replied, I read the article. I was like, I'm glad I'm glad. Cuz they thought she had borderline personality disorder before. >> Who's that? That >> um social services. >> They kept trying to test her and they kept going non-conclusive. Mhm. >> And then the bishop that we're at church with at that time said that he would like help her with everything she had going on. So So the source says, "All right, well, if you're going to take it, we're going to drop it." So they dropped it. So >> Okay. >> Um but it was just I just So she sent me the article and I just I put, "I'm glad you found an article describing you, Russ, and your mom. Maybe you can use as a guideline to change. I doubt it, but good luck." Probably the classiest email. And then her and that was my reply. And that was at 7 that morning on the 12th. And then she replied, "It was to help you improve things, but I stop taking everything as an attack. When they get older, if you don't improve, they won't talk to you anymore. So, stop attacking me and actually read it." Especially the last paragraph about the and dad. That's the main point. So, >> that was the last email she sent to you. >> She sent me and I never replied. >> And that was at 11:50. >> That was 11:50 a.m. >> a.m. >> on 12th, 2015. >> The last email exchange between Richie and Angela was sent on November 12th, 2015. just one day before she was killed. So, their communication wasn't exactly ancient history. Their communication was still active and very much tense and unresolved. And in a murder investigation, one day ago is the kind of timing that raises every possible red flag. >> When's the last time you saw Angela in person? would be well I would say Sunday 5:00 p.m. Chris and I do the exchanges to keep it mutual or nights or a fiance I think is what it is. Um we do the exchanges you know I'll like be in the store to bring the kids or vice versa. >> Okay. >> Um she just sits in the car. So I mean >> and why is that? Why did she sit in the car and not come out and and exchange the kids with you? >> Because in the past we've had issues. She just uh I think um I think things got dramatic like uh we did an exchange at the school one time and she just like blew up and I got the text message and she just said a bunch of derogatory stuff. >> Which marketplace were you guys at on Sunday? >> Um it's what do you call the one off 20th Avenue, the big they call it the big one. Yes, ma'am. >> That's when we always do the exchange at 5:00 p.m. Unless there's an emergency. >> Um, and then even if there's a holiday, we usually do it in the parking lot there. So, >> and is it a weekly like one week the kids are with you? Is that how it is? >> Yep. One week, one week off. >> What kind of what kind of relationship or friendship would you say you and Angela have at this point? Not a good one. >> Tell me about that. >> We definitely don't have a good one. Sorry. >> Um, we were talking about your relationship with Angela. >> It's not the best. >> Okay. Why is that? >> There's a lot of like um contention like um how to explain it. We like we got divorced um not on good terms. my divorce. I filed for divorce. We've just always been in a sense kind of like not I don't want to say battling like I say it like we just don't get along. That makes sense. Like she has a >> I don't know what any of this makes sense until you tell me what you don't know what you're talking about because it's you and Angela, not me, you and Angela. >> I know. So, >> um like her parenting styles and my parenting styles are completely different. >> Okay. Um hers are more manipulative and things to that nature. It was kind of like yesterday was kind of nice because um uh what do you say kind of chooses sides like you know she wants to please one parent wants to please the other. >> Mhm. So like yesterday finally sit down talked to she goes I don't know who to believe I don't know who to trust because like I'll say one thing your mom says one thing it's completely different and so or how you I don't know >> what did you mean by that you talking about something in particular >> uh just like any anything like like I like we always use I don't know from council we always use the skies an example. I don't know why, but like if I walk outside outside or outside and I say, "Oh, the sky is blue." And I was like, "Oh, no. It's purple." You know, she's not outside to see it. Who you believe? >> But there's a reason though that brought this up yesterday to you. There was probably something I would assume there was something that was said or done she was confused about and didn't understand and that's she brought it up to you. >> Is that correct to say? So, what happened? >> Oh, no. Yeah. We talked about uh because I asked I was like are you still I told our rule is you don't have to hide anything. You don't have to lie. So if your mom asks you something you know you can answer or whatever but only thing I don't like is don't go over there and you'll be like oh I I I hate them. Their house is horrible. They come to my house say her house is horrible like the two-way thing. >> So um yesterday >> like I need to talk to you. My mom says, "You're stopping her." And I was like, "Well, like what do you mean?" She goes, "Oh, well, she says that Cindy would go to her work and park like in front of her car and then when Cindy would or when Angela would come out of work, she'd flip her off." And so I told I was like, "Well, we can look at this logically." I was like, "What time when your mom was working like what times would she work during the day?" I was like, "What time does Cindy teach during the day?" I was like, "So, just logically, is that possible that Sydney would park there all day and do that?" Like, "Well, no." But I don't know who's lying, who's telling the truth, you know. And I was like And I was like, um I was like, "So, we're not stalking your mom. We're not going to start. I don't have time for that, you know." And and then that just rolls into the I don't know who to believe. Um, I try to use logic on things, but some things you can't use logic like she doesn't know the facts or whatever. So, >> where does Angela work? >> She was working at Marketplace Foods. >> Okay. It was How long ago did she stop working there? >> I don't know. Um, >> but it's in an email cuz she said, "I stopped working at Marketplace Foods." I know that. >> Okay. >> One thing becomes glaringly obvious in Richie's interrogation. He almost never answers a question directly. It's a tactic we often see in deceptive behavior. Distance from the facts without fully committing to a lie. But then there's his wife, Cynthia. A very different behavioral profile. She's evasive, yes, but not in the same way. She doesn't ramble. >> We have some questions for you. Um, we have Richie down here. See him? Okay. Um, do you know why we have Richie down here? >> No clue. No ideas whatsoever. >> Nothing off the top of your mind. >> And that's what we want to talk to you about. We know a lot more about Cindy and Richie Wilder than we ever wanted to know. We know a lot about your personal life from your electronics and from people that we've talked to. And again, it's a lot more than what we wanted to know or that anybody should know, okay? But we're we're talking about the death of a human being. Whether it was a human being that was liked by you or not, it's the death of a human being. Okay? And we want to visit with you about it, and we want you to be honest with us this time. But we know that you do. Okay. >> You you told us that you know that you do actually when it comes back around to it. >> We have a >> you lied and I can show that you lied. >> Cindy, we have a lot that we want to share with you, too. That may be a surprise to you or it may not be. That's that's up to you, but it's stuff that I would think that that you would want to know. >> Are you okay with that? >> Stuff about me? >> Stuff about Richie and you? >> Both of you. I mean, when he says, "The last five weeks, I've gotten to know you and Richie Wilder really well when I didn't even have to talk to you. I know more about your guys' life than I I care to know. And I don't, you know, I'm I'm kind of 50/50 on what your relationship, your marriage really is like, either behind closed doors or not. I talk to >> who did we talk to? We talked to a lot of people. I bet you we have at a minimum 30 different statements. >> From family members, people I work with, >> everybody. >> Um, what's Cindy's relationship like with Angela? >> They avoid each other. >> Why is that? just like to keep the peace because most emails are about Cindy or about and so they just like like Chris and I do the exchanges because we seem to um >> I don't know we just I don't we don't I don't want to say we get along. We don't really talk but like we keep it cordial. >> Mhm. >> So that's just how we keep it. So she never has a reason to be around her or >> Has anything ever happened between Cindy and Angela? >> Mhm. >> Verbally or physical argument? >> Nothing. >> Okay. Did you know that Angela was pregnant? No, >> we didn't know. >> She was. >> When she was murdered, she was pregnant. >> How long was she? >> I don't have the exacts, but we have confirmed with our medical examiner that she was pregnant. >> Was it Christopher's? >> Christopher Jackson's. >> Mhm. >> Are you thinking that it might not be? >> Mhm. And >> why is that? >> Because I know her history also. >> Okay. >> She cheated on Richie with Chris while he was at basic training. While Rich Reggie was at basic. >> Yeah. I mean, this was before they got divorced. >> He's She's always been cheating, right? The whole their whole marriage. >> It was Christopher's. >> The baby was Christopher's baby. Regardless of who Angela Wilder was, that baby >> will never see the the world >> and they wanted kids. They wanted more kids. They wanted >> Oh, cuz they're five passenger tiny ass clown car proves that they want more kids. >> Do you hate Chris? I don't even know, Chris. I see him on Sundays. Used to see him on Sundays when he picked up the kids from Richie. >> And and hate I know is a strong word, but So, so to be fair, Chris has done nothing to you. >> He's trapped because he I don't know what he saw in Angela, but started [ __ ] her and got pregnant with I don't know whatever Christopher's little baby and then got trapped up here in North Dakota. He [ __ ] didn't want to be here. Who [ __ ] wants to be in Min, North Dakota? >> Who >> are you from here? >> No, I'm from the [ __ ] smallest town, Bulo, which is even worse. Moved up here for college. >> Okay, >> so you're essentially trapped here, too, >> right? >> Well, I mean, after going through college and I got a job, plan on being here for a while, my job. >> But you guys, did you talk about moving back to Alabama? >> Oh, god, not to Alabama. She doesn't even pause before insulting Angela. And look, disliking someone is one thing, but when that person dies and detectives come knocking, when you want answers to, why, how, who, instead, Cindy's energy goes straight to hostility and contempt. >> Well, I'm curious about this. You're really angry for example, okay? I'm not >> I'm not angry at anybody. I'm angry at this whole stupid situation. >> Every time Every time that Every time that Richie shared an email with you, just forwarded an email from Angela to you. >> He never forwarded them to me. >> I read them right off of his phone or he sent >> He sent them to you >> on phone. >> I have Yeah, that's that's what I mean. I'm going to say every time your response was a variety of dumb [ __ ] >> dumb, stupid [ __ ] fat [ __ ] [ __ ] crazy, psycho [ __ ] >> Yeah, cuz it's crazy. All the things in those emails are lies. >> So, you didn't mean it. You didn't want Angela around either. Obviously, you got to you got to you got to get the kids back onto a schedule every time you pick her up. 960s constantly. You're abusing, right? That's what they'd say. >> Yeah. >> And where' they come from, Angela? And piss you off. I knew you were pissed off at it the first time we interviewed you. >> I'm pissed off at about a lot of things. Am I going to go kill my mom because of the shitty child I have? Am I going to go kill my sister because she doesn't know how to be a [ __ ] mom? >> We're not talking about your mom or sister. We're talking about the ex-wife of your husband. >> Do you have anything in common with Angela? >> Married Richie, had a kid with him. >> And at some point you'll both be the ex-wife. >> If you look at it that way, I guess he's going to leave me. I think eventually he would have >> eventually. Yeah. Had this not happened and your guys' lives went on, there's no way that you're I mean there's no way that that would have survived that relationship. You would have eventually been the ex-wife and it could just as easily be you. I mean, if he had had it in him to do this to uh Angela, he certainly could do this to you, too. Because eventually, you know what? You're going to be the dumb [ __ ] that he's having to deal with now. And you're going to be the dumb [ __ ] and the crazy [ __ ] [ __ ] whatever else to the other woman. >> Nothing ever happened between her and Angela directly. And yet, every chance she gets, she throws shade. She talks about Angela like she's the villain in a story that Cindy herself wasn't even a part of. That kind of unprompted hostility is rarely neutral. >> So yesterday asks you this question about not knowing who to believe yesterday. So Thursday >> Thursday. >> Is this the first time that she brought that up? >> No. >> Okay. Tell me about that. When you brought it up before >> it probably comes up every once a month and once every two months. you know, like hesitate like I want to tell you something, but I don't like just tell me say something. Um like, oh, my mom said, um that when I'm 18, uh Chris can adopt me. I can have Chris adopt me. I don't have to be with you anymore." And I just I'm like, "Oh, okay." I was like, "Well, I don't know the law on that, but I mean, you got a long ways to your 18, you know." She goes, "Was that true?" I was like, "Well, I don't know." You know, I have to find out. So, just it's like little stuff like that. >> Have you ever shown up to Angela's house unannounced? >> No. >> Never. >> No. >> Okay. Has Angela ever showed up to your house unannounced? >> No. >> Okay. That's Chris. >> No. >> Cind. Go ahead. >> Oh, no. It's not Cindy either. Cindy. >> Okay. Go ahead and say what you're going to say. Sorry. I was just going to say when we lived on base, like when we were going through our divorce, it was pretty rough because the kids and I were living in the house. So, she come knock on the door at night and I would have to call my first sergeant and be like, "Hey, she's knocking on the door." He's like, "Just ignore it." I'm like, "Okay." >> Um, can you think of anybody that would want to cause harm to Angela? >> Like, not top of my head. I mean, she's she can be hard to get along with and she likes to threaten people, but >> what do you mean? >> Uh, like, how do you uh sorry, I trying to word like like good example like she'll be, you know, like if you're on her good side, then you're a good friend. She'll help you out, you help her out, whatever. But like the moment she thinks you're not her friend, she'll like um like threaten like mainly threaten you with court. Like there's been people in the past like uh if they're, you know, they don't agree or whatever. She's like, "Oh, well, I'm going to get your kids taken away. I'm going to sue you and this is going to happen." She's even done it to counselors. >> Has she ever said that to you? >> Oh, yeah. >> When's the last time she threatened that? Well, her new thing now is threatening that the kids are going to um when they're 18, they get to move away or I mean that they're not going to love me cuz they hate me and that Chris is going to adopt it when they turn 18. Um >> what did she tell you that? >> Let's see. So, yep. The last one was about the parent teacher conference. Um, that's when she said right here, you control the kids and call them both names and they hate you. So, >> what day was that? >> That was uh November 5th, 2015. >> So, that was recent. >> I mean, the email is a lot longer than that. It talks about Cindy. >> Sure. Have you ever made statements to Angela about taking the kids away from her? No, I usually >> even out of anger or frustration. >> No, because it rolls into something worse. It always does. Like if I if I uh It's like if I say you're if I say you're stupid and she'll come back with a worse one and then it like just builds. It just gets worse. Like I don't know. That's why a lot of times I just don't even reply. If even if it's nasty, I just leave it at it because if I reply, then I'm gonna get an even nastier email >> back essentially. >> Most concerned or innocent people being interrogated would ask why. Why am I here? What's this about? But Richie is too busy creating fictional side questions to answer direct questions. >> Um, did you work last night? >> From 7 to 11? Yes, ma'am. >> Okay. And you did you drive to work? >> Yes, ma'am. And you drive from work? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Where'd you go after you left work? >> Uh, straight home. >> Can anybody tell us what time you got home? >> Cindy. >> Cindy can. >> And was she awake when you got home or was anybody off? >> She was laying in bed, but when I come in the room, she always wakes up. So, >> okay. Did you ever leave to go anywhere in the middle of the night? >> No. >> Have you ever done that in the past? >> No. >> Not at all. >> No. >> Okay. Detective Goodman, do you have any questions right now? >> Um, have you ever been inside her house? >> No, sir. >> Never? >> No. >> Tell me a little bit about the domestic uh that you guys had on base. >> Oh, on base? Uh, she abused >> twice. I reported her both times. >> How did she abuse >> uh she hit in the face once was for not closing the front door. The other one um was we were walking through base housing and she uh was like interrupting her. You know we I just you know um well I was trying I don't even know what she was trying to tell. She kept interrupting her and every time she would interrupt her, you know, ends up yell at yelling and then finally she just hit her and I was like, "Oh, we can't can't do that." So, >> what did that cost between the two of you then? >> A lot of tension. >> Okay. >> A lot. I ended up the second time at the same time I ended up filing for divorce. Okay. >> Have you ever been arrested? >> No. >> Never? >> Oh, you mean with her? >> Way back way back in the day. I was >> Okay. For for what? >> I was in might have been 2007. 2007. >> Okay. So, when you said no, you were meaning you've never been arrested other than >> Yeah, other than I'm saying why touch with her. >> Okay. So, you've never been arrested for anything other than issues that you've had with Angela. >> Oh, I'm sorry. Let me reword that. I apologize. I've never been arrested for any issues with Angela. I got arrested in 2007. Something completely different. >> What was that for? Um it was a domestic uh dispute or we said. So >> with who? >> Um it would have been my girlfriend's sister. She was bipolar offering meds and attacked uh my girlfriend. So I grabbed her off and she attacked me. So >> yeah. Then she called the cops and then they came and arrested me. Then she dropped the charges or it was dismissed. >> So you were arrested that one time and that's the only time you've ever been arrested in all of your life? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Have you ever been investigated for anything? Oh, when I was on base. >> What for? >> Uh, domestic abuse. >> And who conducted that investigation? >> Jag. >> Jag. >> Okay. What was the basis of that investigation? >> Uh, she said that I um like choked her twice. Uh, cuz we separated in 2011 when I filed for divorce at the second incident. And then she asked if she could go home for Christmas. She's like, "Everything's changed. I can we can work this out." So, I brought her home in December of that year. in 2011 and then um it was the same old same old and then next thing I know I'm getting investigated by my first sergeant and then by JAG for allegations of abuse against her and so then we went to court marshall in the military court marshal >> so you got charged >> yes well yeah we went to court marshall um got charged with uh two counts of assault and then the sentencing was like they gave me like bare nothing >> give you what >> like like uh the minimum cuz you can get like jail time, you can get tons of rank taken away. You can get um you can get a lot of there's like a lot of punishments and all they did was they pretty much you know took a stripe and said here's 60-day hard labor which means you're a janitor for like 60 days and then they gave me a general discharge. So you don't have a dishonorable discharge with the military >> because main reason because afterwards the jury wrote letters. That was a four person jury. They wrote letters stating that they made a mistake. So we took it to the base commander and he's like I can't it's too late. I can't wave this. So he's like I'll tell you what I'll give you a general discharge. >> There are plenty of rumors floating around in this case. Stories that can't be confirmed. But one thing was proven. While serving in the military, Richie did attack Angela. According to Angela, she had just discovered that Richie was cheating on her again, something you'll soon realize he's more than capable of. When she confronted him, Richie didn't deny it. In fact, he made her sit on his lap, admitted everything, showed her the messages from the other woman, and promised for the third time that it was over. But when she stood up to walk away, he grabbed and choked her. >> Did you choke her that time? >> No. >> She didn't have marks on her neck or anything? >> No. >> That photographs were taken? >> There was a photograph taken, but I didn't put my hands on her at all. >> And the photograph showed marks on her neck >> supposedly. Yeah. I didn't get to see them. >> Who took the photograph? >> Uh, she did. That's what they said. >> Cindy is all in. Whether it's blind loyalty or saving her own skin, she's determined to side with Richie. But the detectives are about to drop something that hits her where it hurts, even if it doesn't show on the outside. >> I don't mean any disrespect by saying this, Cindy. I'm I'm a little bit confused about your relationship with Richie. I know he's your husband, but I'll tell you what, he doesn't you don't fit the criteria of the other women that he's sleeping with. is not a cheater. Do not accuse him of that. >> We don't have accuse him. We have proof >> from emails from Angela. >> No. >> No. >> We're not talking about Angela. We're talking about Jennifer. We're talking about >> worker that we watch her kids sometimes and she cooks food. >> Okay. I I was afraid that that might have been the story that you were doing. >> I did too. This is Jennifer, right? >> Yeah. This is Jennifer and this is Jennifer Lynn Padilla or she also goes by Jennifer Lynn Wong >> or or JLo is who he calls her in his spell. >> Yeah. >> We sat right in front of Jennifer just like we're sitting in front of you right now and Jennifer told us about the sexual relationship she's had with Richie since the beginning of the year. >> Well then that's awesome. Congrat. >> We're not We're not trying No, we're not trying to to to offend you or piss you off with that information. We're not >> because I know it's not true. And you're trying to rattle my bones. >> Okay. You want to know what else? >> We can pay. We can play the recordings. >> We can show you. >> Recordings at their house, recordings at my house, recordings at their work. >> Cindy, we wouldn't do this if we didn't have proof. I'm not out to throw people under the bus. I'm not I don't want to. >> So, it sounds like that from exactly from day one. >> No. No. >> I can understand >> if my ex-husband died, I'm sure I would be the only suspect in that situation, too. >> We haven't had one suspect. We We've checked into other people, but Cindy, I can >> Where's Chris at in all of this? He just disappeared? No. >> No, we know exactly where Chris is >> the whole time. We know where Chris is. >> Okay. And I can understand you saying you're just trying to rattle my cage. That's totally I would be thinking the same thing if I was sitting in your seat. I I honestly would. But we can and I am so so sorry to say it because I I was under the impression that that you knew about some of it. Um but by seeing your reaction, I don't think you did. Okay. And what I I mean there's more than one. Jennifer and Richie were were uh trying to have a baby or she thought she was pregnant even at one point. Um >> twice twice two months back to back she thought she was pregnant. >> And and as Detective Matias shows you some of the other photos, you're going to see the type of women that that he's been hooking up with. And that's what I that's I didn't mean to disrespect you. That's what I >> That's why you went to LA school and ask inappropriate questions. He's [ __ ] years old. >> Nobody went to school and asked me appropriate questions. I've got that interview, too. No one asked inappropriate questions. I didn't. He was there. >> What do you think? >> If dad kisses other women, that's completely inappropriate. >> That's not what the question was. >> What was the question? >> Now, you have to remember, too, it's an adult asking, you know, I'm sorry. I don't remember. Okay, that's not the question I asked. We got information. We had to follow up. Okay, you did >> information from who? Her daughter who thinks she's a [ __ ] fairy. >> No, it came from an adult >> that they work with follow up on it. >> Okay. >> Cindy's tough. Or at least she plays the part. But right now, you can feel the cracks forming. She starts questioning the detectives in hopes of trying to regain some control. >> Here's here's the thing. I'm being completely honest with you. I wouldn't throw pictures in your face. I wouldn't say this stuff. >> Well, it's just a picture of her. I can say that on Facebook. I >> That shows me no proof that she slept with my husband. >> I have no proof. I have messages after messages after messages after messages. >> That doesn't tell me that they slept together. There's people at the hospital that knew they were sleeping together. >> Did they see? Did they record it? >> Your husband talked about it through text message with >> that doesn't prove [ __ ] That's text message. If you want to look at my phone conversation I had with other men. >> No, she's [ __ ] ugly. >> That's Joanne. She She's at the hospital. You met her at the hospital. You know who this is? >> No. >> That's another one. And that's not it. He's got relationships with all three of these women and they're together as recent they're recent relationships. >> Not because of text messages. >> No, she was we sat down and talked to her in person. She sat in that chair. >> 100% sexual. That's all it was. She doesn't really give a [ __ ] about Richie other than >> sleeping with him. >> You know what? Richie lost his job because of these little [ __ ] >> Richie lost his job because he lost control of his anger. We have his employment records. We know what happened. Yeah. Because >> not because in your words, not because of these little [ __ ] >> They love him. >> Mhm. >> They love him. She She is still loves him. >> Yeah. Because her ex-husband was a [ __ ] psycho. >> They got married for her. >> Do you know that? >> Yeah. >> What does he pay for? What do you >> Well, I don't know. She's He's helped her out with car, with rent. >> Paid us food. I help people out all the time. >> Okay. But he's also been having sex with her since at least >> Well, I want to see proof of that. Do you have it on video? >> I don't have it on video. I've got tons of Oh, it's her in front of me. >> I don't care what she [ __ ] says. >> Cindy, I think we have We have her on video, don't we? >> We have Joan on video. >> We interviewed her in her apartment. >> I don't want to see a video of them saying [ __ ] I want to see a [ __ ] video of them having sex with my husband. That's what I want. I don't believe you until I see that. Sydney, that's that's ridiculous. We we have these women talking about having sex with Richie >> and he talks about when they had he goes into detail about the sex they had with them. >> Absolutely. And in person, we've heard it from them. It's not a coincidence that at least three people that I have pictures of have been having sexual relations with their husband. That's just not you don't that I mean back to back. He hid their number in his phone under a male >> under JLo. No, >> I knew that >> she's Steven in his phone. Stephen. This is Stephen. Does this look like Steven? This isn't Steven. Steven's one person or multiple people. >> This is Steven. >> Okay. >> This girl is saved in his phone as Steven. >> Okay. And he deletes all of his messages. >> I don't look through his phone. I don't give two [ __ ] >> I trust my 100%. >> Well, then you're wrong. And we're not doing this to piss you off, okay? This is Richie. We've we have dug into his life and we've looked at him under a microscope. This is your husband, okay? We're We can play you recordings of of us talking to these women. We'd be happy to do that. We can show you videos of recordings that we've done. We can show you and have you listen to recordings of all many of his co-workers that say, "Yeah, I'm aware of that. Yeah, I'm aware of that. I'm aware that he's doing that. Yeah, he's in a relationship with her. She works down in >> You know what? If you went to my previous employment, people would probably say I was having an affair with other people, too. People like to [ __ ] talk. >> Well, they never said that. >> You went to people at my old job. >> Yeah. >> The group home that I used to work at. >> No, I'm talking about Roosevelt School. >> The last school that you were at. >> Nobody said that. >> Are you having an affairs with other men? >> Currently, no. Were you then or >> never since I've been married to Richie? >> Okay. Well, he is busy. He's very busy away from you. >> And I feel I'm going to tell you I feel very I feel bad for you. I again I'm going to reiterate five weeks. Five weeks I've gotten to know you and Richie. Okay. He is lying and lying and lying to you. And I hate that I have volumes and volumes of evidence of that. and it just kept coming up because I see Cindy as someone that's always home with the kids or at work or um it's just you your your circle is just so small. Cindy doesn't get to do all the fun stuff Richie does >> because I choose not to. >> Cuz you choose not to have affairs which is the right thing to do. >> Doesn't have this wild crazy life that you think of either. He used to work 12 hour shifts and then he >> made time. No, >> he made time after work to have sex with these women. >> This part doesn't directly tie to the case, but it tells you everything about who we're dealing with. The extent of Cindy's loyalty and delusion is unbelievable. And it mirrors Richie's own traits, obsessive, controlling, and unyielding. >> And I understand and I saw it. I didn't have to talk to him. I didn't have to talk to you. I saw what he was doing to you over and over again. Why is he deleting his text messages? He doesn't want to get caught. >> I don't look in his phone anyway ever since. >> I'm not saying you had to. You didn't You didn't have to look in his phone. >> It's a trust thing. >> So So you understand a whole different life. >> It deletes them from you, but when we run the forensics, it brings them back up. We see the deleted content. And >> I feel for you. I feel for you. I see that the kids are a struggle all the time. I absolutely I saw that day in and day out for you. I see the struggles that you've been having. I know you were trying to get pregnant. I know you're pissed off that people around you are pregnant. I feel for you. And it's absolute [ __ ] that he had this whole other life. How is that fair? That's not. and you're at home taking care of your child with Richie and these two other children, then I'm sure you do love and care about. But how is that fair? He is a manipulator and he has been for a very long time. And I think you do love him and you care about him because he's your husband and he's the father of your children. But he has been living a complete other life and it's not their >> their lives. vibes. And you know what made me sick about Jennifer is that you know Jennifer. You know where Jennifer lives. You know that Jennifer watches your children. You know that Jennifer makes your food. >> You know her children. >> You know I attended parties. You know Ivory, >> your daughter. Yeah. >> Yeah. The birthday party at Oak Park. I think it was Oak Park. >> And all along he's been sleeping with her on the side. She two months in a row. Two months in a row, she thought she was pregnant. And I'm going to tell you this, he was happy about it. How is that fair when you're trying to get pregnant? >> How do you know he's happy about it? >> Because I could see the writing. >> He was never pissed. He was never pissed. Jennifer told people at the hospital that she wanted to get pregnant by him, that she saw them being >> Yeah. There was also people wanting to buy his sperm at work. I don't know anything about him. >> I see Richie abusing everything he has in his life. >> He's taking advantage of everything. >> The sperm donor story might sound strange, but it served a purpose. If someone ended up pregnant, there'd be no scandal, no suspicion, and no questions. Just a pre-written script in a plot that was already unfolding. Now is when the detective would ask a question that's going to be absolutely crucial. >> What happened to your face? >> Where? Right. >> You get a scratch in your face. >> That's from my >> on your nose. >> No, that's from Well, no, this not my son. This is just a pimple, but this one's from my How old is >> Okay. And how did that happen? >> We play wrestle/play fight and sometimes a tiger and claw me out. long fingernails sometimes. So, >> when did that happen? >> That happened yesterday. >> Okay. Tell me about the the scenario of what what you guys were doing when that happened. >> Oh, just in the living room. I usually get on my knees and we kind of play around and get him attacked and I pretend to eat. >> The thing I don't want to hear is usually >> I mean, tell me exactly what happened. >> Oh, okay. No, that's fine. Yeah. >> Uh, we were just playing in the living room. I was on my knees. you know, I was, you know, I usually I was chasing, grabbing, you know, tickling him sometimes or I pretend to like like and uh usually when I'm that close like start clawing instead of like, you know, pretend punching. So >> that was yesterday at what time? >> Um probably around or around 10 10 or 11. Okay. >> Cuz usually >> yesterday morning or >> yesterday? Yeah. because they take a nap around 12:00. So, >> okay. >> How about your thumb? Would you do that? >> That I jammed the mess or um I jammed it like the door got slammed on yesterday with all that wind. So, >> which door? >> Uh if you face it, if you're looking at my car, the driver back door. >> Okay. cuz we went grocery shopping after I picked up and then when we came home from grocery shopping, what I do is when I get the kids out, I un I go from the driver back door, I unbuckle and get them out on that side, unbuckle and I I grab with one arm and just it's easier to do that reaching pull down and I had my hand like this on the car and the wind just smacked the crap out of my hand. You consider yourself a smart man, Richie? >> Depending on what it is. >> Okay. You can certainly put two and two together, right? From from the news that you heard and from talking to your neighbor and looking on Facebook and everything. >> Um, you said yes to that. >> Well, yeah. I mean, I know. >> So, what is the two and two that you put together in in this situation? >> Well, somebody passed away. I know that. I just don't know who. Okay. Who do you think? >> Well, if I'm here, it's either little one or Angela. >> I don't think you have to call me. >> Why do you say her or Angela? I mean, why do you why do you say >> Well, Angela cuz she's my ex. because uh I current background of domestic abuse against so >> so you think by putting two and two together you think that either Angela is dead or the is dead >> yes >> and how do you come to that >> that >> so you know that something took place at at Angela's house. >> Yeah. >> I guess that's what I'm getting at. >> Oh yeah. Yeah. No. And then you said >> are they the only two that live there? No, Chris lives there, too. >> Okay. >> But I have like no relations with Chris. >> Okay. >> So, >> Well, what if we said there was something wrong with Chris? I mean, what's why do you rule him out? >> Uh, just because I don't have any relations with him. Like, I don't know. I guess um >> you got a pretty pretty big relationship with him. He's dating the mother of one of your children. >> That's true. But if they broke up tomorrow then I would never. >> But I mean and he delivers the kids to you. I mean you said that in the interview here. >> Oh yeah. >> But so does he and he lives there as well. You said right? >> Yes he does. >> So why are you ruling him out that there could be an issue with him? I don't know. I just like I don't know. Like I said, I just there's no like there's no connection to me between him and I know he goes to exchanges and they're together, but like I said, if he um I don't know if he they >> let me give an example. I like to give examples. That's right. >> People that live next across the street from me. I don't know who they are. Okay. >> Um there it's a man and a woman that live there. Uh, if all of a sudden I was suspicious that one of that something happened there and there's somebody that's deceased there, um, I wouldn't just say, "Yeah, I think the lady's dead over there." >> Yeah. >> Unless I saw the man. >> Yeah. >> You know what I mean? So, I'm trying to trying to figure out why you're why you came to the conclusion that something happened to either or Angela. There's a reason the detectives ask about who was in the house. Because if Richie is the killer, then he already knew exactly who was inside. Angela and her child. Christopher wasn't home. And that's a detail you'd only know if you were already watching. >> Are you understanding me or am I not being clear? >> I I understand you. I'm trying to I don't think I'm being clear. I'm trying to figure out how to say being clear. Um, like I know he's a part of their life, but like him and I don't have a connection. I don't know that makes sense. >> It's not making any sense to me because I'm and I don't mean to sit and pick on this. >> No, it's okay. I figure it out. >> Again, with my example, if I knew there was five people in the house and I knew that one of them was was dead. >> Yeah. >> One of the five people that lived there is dead. >> Okay. Then I would know that it's either one, two, three, four, or five. >> Oh, >> I wouldn't say, well, I think I out of the five and there's one person dead there. I think it's either one, three, and five. >> Um, I I wouldn't come to that conclusion because I have nothing else to base that on. You know what I mean? >> So why why are you leaving out Chris? I guess mainly just guessing I guess I don't >> guessing that either something happened to or >> or Yeah. >> Okay. So that's why like I don't know I just know like if the news is right suspicious death so somebody died. That's the first thing like when I read that and then like um like I said some people have been messing me and stuff and talking to him like if it didn't it involved him I don't like I don't think y'all would be here. Like I don't know. I just >> Why not? >> Well like I don't know. Like I said, cuz he's not like we're not I mean I know how you're saying we're connected but to me like we're not connected cuz like I said they broke up you know if they broke up today then then he's gone. I never see >> if they did. Yeah. But they didn't break up today. >> Yeah. >> As of right now you know that three people live in that house. >> Yes. >> And you know that uh they have a relationship. >> Yes. >> And you know that he acts as the father figure of that house. >> Yes. >> Okay. Um, help me understand that. Why are you ruling him out? [Music] >> I don't know. I guess just trying to make a guess. >> Cuz you said, "What do I think?" So, I was trying to like guess. I guess >> that's not the case. I mean, we're doing an investigation here and and obviously this is serious. We have you down here. >> Yeah. >> And and I'll tell you, Angela's dead. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. And the only person that we think could have something to do with this from the information that we've gathered so far >> Yeah. >> is you. >> Yeah. >> So, what do you know about that? >> Know about what? >> About Angela being dead. >> Nothing. Just what you said. There's nobody around here that has any beef, any issues with her. >> She's not even from this area. >> Oh, yeah. >> Um the the only people from what we've gathered so far that are in her life >> Yeah. >> are her kids. >> Yep. >> You, Cindy, and Chris. >> Yeah. [Music] So, that's what brings us here today. Oh, >> okay. >> I'll tell you what. What? There's a lot of fingers pointing right at you. >> Well, yeah. >> Cuz I'm her ex-husband, right? >> Well, you're her ex-husband and you guys have a volatile relationship. >> Yeah. >> Your history? >> Yeah. We don't have a good history. >> And I'm suspicious about the scratch on your face. I'm Any other suspicions that I've had >> other than you? >> Yeah. >> I've been able to put to bed, >> if you will. >> Um cuz we have had other suspicions. We don't >> we don't try and get tunnel vision on these cases. We try and look at the big picture. >> Um but it's right now it's it's narrowed down to you. Did you hurt her? >> No. >> Now, this should have been the moment. The detectives are no longer tiptoeing around it. They're practically pointing the finger. If Richie didn't react when he heard she was dead. If he didn't react when his story was challenged, then this was the moment to push back. How how can you prove to me that that uh I'm looking at the wrong person? Um well, I I don't know when this happened, but I know yesterday I was with my kids and Cindy came home and we had dinner and I went to work and I came home and I slept and I woke up this morning. So >> say that again. >> Like yesterday I was with the kids, okay? >> Cuz I watched the kids all day and then Cindy came home, made dinner, we ate dinner, then I got ready for work, went to work, worked all, you know, worked my four hours and came home and then slept and said he was me while we were sleeping. This woke up twice last night and the guy woke up once. pretty damning when you call family members and they're obviously upset because her family members aren't here. So, yeah, >> I haven't talked to them in person. You know that. >> Yeah. >> Um pretty damning when they say through their tears, Richie. >> Yeah. Nobody. >> Richie. Richie. Richie. >> And And really, there's nobody else. I mean, unless you can can shed some light on it. But right now, I think something happened. I don't know what it is. I don't know why it happened, how it happened, but I think you can fill in those blanks. >> I can I think you can. >> Do you have a temper, Richie? >> When I was younger, I had a pretty good temper. Do you have a temper now? >> No, I keep myself in shape pretty well. >> Ju just as we sit and talk about this that you know how a person the look in their face >> Oh yeah. >> changes and mine might even change just talking to you too because >> because I I just angry is not the word. But I I just feel different when when we're talking about this because I strongly believe that you know more than what you're telling us. >> And if I did, I would tell you. And and it may be something that's that's not good for you. >> Yeah. >> But I just told you that the mother of your is it child or children? >> Children. >> Children. Yeah. >> Two children. >> Children is dead. And no matter how much you hate her, she's still half the blood of your children. >> And I don't believe that you're that tough just to say. She's not. Well, I'm not saying it like that. >> Well, that's what I'm getting. >> I work at the hospital, so it's a poker face. >> You got to have it every time somebody pass. >> But she's not hospital patient. She was in your life for many years. >> I know, but I have children for you. >> I know. It's just how I made myself. >> Doesn't mean when I go home, I won't. >> Well, I know that's not true. Should show up showing you go to Long Fellow. >> Yeah. again. >> Okay. So, other than that, is that going to show up in any time? >> So, you had nothing to do with Angela's death? >> No. >> Nothing. >> Not planning it, not organizing it at all. >> Nothing. >> Did you kill her? >> No. >> No. >> No. >> Okay. And and you have no when I said fingers are pointed at you, you have no fingers to point anywhere. >> I don't get in her personal life. Like my only my >> in her personal life. >> But but I don't get in her I'm only with the kids. I try to stay out of her personal life for a reason. >> But you know who her kids are around and who she's around though. >> Not really. I really don't. Only thing I know is what my mother tells me. Didn't tell me a lot or not. >> You know, I try and think of people that that would benefit from this. And again, it brings me back to you, but it also brings me to Cindy. >> Do you think she killed Angela? >> No. Cindy's like 4' 11. >> What's that have to do with the >> She's small and she's like, how do you say it? like timid, I guess you would say. >> Cindy might be small in stature, but don't mistake that for fear or timidness, but she knows exactly how to hold her ground. >> Were you with him when he did this? >> I was at home. >> Okay. So, did he stay at the house at all that night? >> Yes, he came home after work. >> Leave the house that night. >> No, he didn't. I was up several times with the kids and he was out cold. >> That's not true. >> True. >> And let me tell you this before you say anything else or we go further. Don't dig a bigger hole for yourself >> because you're in that hole with Richie right now. I will tell you that. Don't make it bigger and deeper. >> And understand that we're used to people digging holes. Everybody does it. But the deeper you go, the harder it's going to be to get out there. So you've told us one version which parts may be true, but it's not the complete truth. We know that it's written all over your face. And you know what else is written all over your face? >> You look tough. And by that I mean you look like you're worn out. >> I am the same tired and worn out. >> You want to teach 20 kindergarteners a week before [ __ ] Christmas? Okay. >> But but but a month ago, five weeks ago, when we sat with you in the principal's office, you looked the same way. >> I I looked like this since I was probably six years old because my mom's [ __ ] every guy with a belt. I had to take care of my kid, my my kids, my brother and sister all through high school. I move away to college. What does my sister do? She drops out and gets pregnant. What does my brother do? [ __ ] He's been in and out of juvie since he was 14. And guess where he's at again? He's in [ __ ] jail again. He just got out two days before Thanksgiving. >> Okay. And how old are you? >> 25. >> Okay. That sucks. That sucks. And I'm sorry that you've had to live that life. And I'm sorry that you're having to go through this. I truly am. But everybody hits bottom when they're in a situation like that. >> Oh, this is not bottom. >> Well, I think you've hit bottom. >> Far from bottom. >> The detectives say something that finally lands. And they're right. what was coming for her would be the real rock bottom. >> But I mean, again, she's somebody that doesn't like Angela and now Angela's dead. >> Yeah, but not Cindy. >> Not Cindy? >> No. >> How confident are you on that? >> 100%. >> I know my wife. I just like >> you know you think of something like this that happens >> and it's not it's not always bad people that do this. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. They made a horrible decision at at a certain point. But it's not always your your gang bangers or street thugs or people like that. >> Yeah. >> I mean you see that a lot. You see it on TV. So, I mean, it could be something maybe that Cindy's just tired of dealing with all this pain in the ass custody [ __ ] Yeah. As much of annoyance as Angela is, like it still like doesn't benefit she passes away or passed away like it doesn't benefit us like you think. I don't think. >> Well, you don't toss the kids back and forth anymore. Yeah, but then we though like I mean if you would have said Chris I mean either way it's going to be hard. This is your mom. I'm not biological dad. >> I know that. >> I adopt like this isn't something that's going to go away in a month. It's going to go away in a year. It's going to for the rest of her life cuz she already feels abandoned. feels like, you know, uh, I didn't want, you know, just confused because, you know, come to my house, you know, I adopted her, her biological dad, she knows she was adopted, so kind of has issues with that. Mom, you know, you know, a few other things before, so, you know, it's just not going to be good. >> But now, Angela's not going to anything. But >> it doesn't matter. I'd rather deal with that than like trying to talk about this. Like I said, we were going on like yesterday was a huge breakthrough. We were about to go on a good path. I just I felt it. I felt so much positive. We're using logic. We were just breaking it down. Like, why can't I go back to counseling? I'm like, I want you to be in counseling cuz then there's there's there's not me and mom. It's a middleman. somebody like last time that kind of um if I said one, mom said another two opposite things, the counselor helped, you know, figure out, you know, in a sense who's lying or what's uh going the right with becoming a normal kid. >> If Richie really is the killer, that makes this crime even more disturbing because he didn't just take Angela's life. He knew what he was doing to the kids. the very kids he killed Angela for. >> Anything you can think of that we didn't talk about or cover? >> Anything you want to tell us at all that we didn't talk about? >> Okay. Anybody that popped in your mind that want to cause any harm to Angela? >> I mean, I've seen her and Chris argue before, but the kids say he's a really good guy and he's like really nice to them. So, I mean, unless she pushed him over the edge, that would be my my only like thing. But the kids just said, "He's such a nice guy. I don't think you do something like that." >> Okay. >> Um, there's things that we want, >> okay, >> from you. Excuse me. Uh, we talked about the polygraph. You said you're willing to do that. >> Yeah. Um, that's something that's going to take some time to set up, but okay. I'm certainly willing to do this. We I think it's an important deal. Yeah. >> Um, but we can set that up. Can you come back in at 8:00 tonight? >> I got to work tonight. >> Um, I I don't >> circumstances. We've got a person in your life that's dead. >> I know. >> Can you make arrangements to come in at 8:00 tonight? >> Yeah, I probably work. >> Okay. And um we'd like to look through your phone. >> All right. >> And your vehicle. >> Okay. >> And your wife's vehicle. >> Okay. >> Okay. I'm assuming you saying okay, you're cooperating with with us on that. >> Oh. Oh. You want to search and whatever? >> We want to search through them. Are you consenting to that by saying okay? Um, we're looking into all possibilities of what could happen right now. We're looking at you. I mean, your >> uh >> information that we have is pointing at you. People are saying, "Richie, >> um, I I want to collect your clothes. I want to collect your shoes. I want to collect your DNA. I want to take pictures of your your scratch on your face. Um just in case. I don't know. You you had an explanation for that. >> Yeah. >> Um at this point, am I going to sit here and and get in your face and say you're a liar? No, I'm not. Um but I'm still we're going to look into this and we're going to find out what happened eventually. >> Oh, yeah. >> Um the easy way or the hard way. >> Oh, yeah. But I mean it would certainly if you know something about this or you were involved, like I said earlier, your demeanor seemed to change with me when we were talking about that. When we were talking about you being involved, if you were involved or know something, now's the time to tell us. >> I know nothing. >> Okay. Well, then if that's the truth, then I don't know why you wouldn't cooperate with us because you seemed the only emotion I saw out of you was when you started to talk about your kids, especially about um saying, "No, this isn't the easy road. This just put me on the hard road." >> It is. It is a hard road. >> Well, then I would I would think you'd be cooperative with that. Obviously, we're not going to strip you down and and send you home or out of here naked. I mean, we'll make arrangements for that, but do you consent to give us the items that you're wearing for now? >> When they searched the vehicles, something immediately stood out. Cindy's car was spotless. Too spotless. Richie's, on the other hand, wasn't. That contrast was enough to raise eyebrows and pressure. In the interrogation rooms, the detectives tell Richie to strip. Every mark, every scratch, every bruise will be documented. And for someone who insists on innocence, he is remarkably calm. As far as your clothes, are you okay with us taking your clothes? >> The only sweatshirt I got, though, like the only jacket that's not rated for 60. Okay. Um, >> how about your cars? I'm not too concerned about your clothes right now, but >> Okay. >> Um, are you okay with us looking through your your vehicles? >> We are going to destroy them. >> No. I mean, if that's that's one thing that TV portrays. >> That wasn't TV. That's real life. >> Okay. You've had that experience? >> Yeah. I got no I got >> I didn't grow up in a good neighborhood. And so since I was white and not a white neighborhood, every time I got pulled over, they searched my car. I'm like, "Well, if you got nothing to hide like you're saying, then we'll just search your car." And they searched it and they would destroy it. >> And then there's a few times like, "Oh, what is this?" I'm like, "I don't know because I'm trying to get out of this neighborhood." >> Okay. It's interesting to hear you tell that. I mean, it's opposite of what you normally hear. >> Yeah. So you hear the race race car going the other way but >> no there's no white people in my neighborhood and then you know yeah so sorry if I'm paranoid just between movies and I just you know >> yeah that's something that I can assure you too that we're not going to destroy your car. I want to make sure my name's clear. I want to make sure Cindy's name's clear. And like um I want to cooperate, but I don't want to get like how do you say like not racial profile obviously you're white, but like um I don't know. I just had some bad experiences. >> I understand that. I mean, especially if you can basing it off of TV is one thing, but basing it off personal experience is another. So, so I find some in my car and I'm like, "What are you talking about?" You know, not even when I was younger. They're like, "Oh, what's these baggies?" I was like, "I don't have baggies in my car." It was a 1970 Impala. Like, I kept it clean because it was a classic car. >> Are your cars fairly clean now? >> Uh, no. Um, red one's not really. It's like It's my work car. The other one we try to keep kind of clean, too. >> So, it's the red one that you take to work all the time. >> Yes. when he drove here >> yesterday as well. >> Oh, yes. Okay. >> For the next 30 minutes, they go in circles. Richie doesn't confess. It's a psychological limbo. One that buys time, builds ambiguity, and keeps everyone guessing. >> The if you consent to the search of the Honda, >> Yeah. >> Um then yeah, I think we would get to it a little bit quicker. Um no guarantees. I mean, there's we've got other things that we need to do as well. >> Yeah. >> Um, but I think we'll just add it to the search warrant >> because again, like I said before, I don't know fingers have been pointed at you and >> yeah, >> and then we also brought up Cindy, too. So, just to cover our bases, we'll add it to the search war. >> Despite all the dodging and deflections, Richie was arrested. His fingerprints matched and Angela's blood was found in Cindy's car. The same car driven either by Richie or Cindy. >> We've arrested Richie for the murder of Angela Wilder. >> You tell me. Cindy, we've been doing this investigation now for five weeks. We >> We haven't been sitting here doing nothing. We've been putting in a lot of hours. We've been working with a lot of other agencies and people and the evidence when we talked to Richie before the evidence or he said the evidence will show the truth or something similar to that >> and that's that's he was right. He made us he made us go the long way around. But that was right. We have evidence backing up the fact that we arrested you. Okay. And we also know that you know more than what you told us on day one. Were you 100% involved in this? Were you standing there when she was killed? I'll be honest with you. I don't know. >> I was at home. >> Okay. what you know about it. >> I know what you've told me and what I've seen in the paper and on the daily news app on my phone. >> Yeah. But there's information that you know that has certainly got your mind going >> and your at the very least your vehicle was at the crime scene. We know your vehicle was there. your vehicle. I understand you both own it, but you drive it. >> Well, most of the time I drive it, >> right? >> Were you driving it that night? >> No. >> Okay. There's blood on the passenger door of that vehicle that belongs to Angela. How did that get there? >> You're positive. It's not >> positive. >> Absolutely positive. 100% positive. >> Well, I don't know why her blood would be on my car door if she supposedly died in her house. >> Because who killed her was in your car. That's how >> the man that I don't think gives two shits about you, Cindy. He may care about you again as being the mother of his children. But other than that, you saw the three pictures. That's why he's >> attracted pictures of three Asian women. >> Yeah. You want to know how I found them? Through the phone numbers I found on your husband's phone of sexual talk and conversation or I've sat in front of them and they've told me about the sex they've had with your husband and I can narrow it down to the exact days and times for that conversation with the text messages on his phone. it. You don't want to believe that, Cindy. And that's understandable, but it's the truth. That's the type of person we're dealing with here. Did you help him with any of the evidence that relates to this crime? >> I was at home. >> Okay. But did you use your vehicle to haul any of the evidence that was used in this crime? >> No. >> You have this evidence. What evidence? >> Scientific evidence. And when I say that, that means DNA. You can't mess with DNA. You can't change it. You can't take it away >> that you got from our house when you searched it without a warrant. >> We have DNA evidence. >> You gave us consent and that's >> because we're harassing us. >> No. No. >> But but it's not from your your residence. We have DNA evidence that we took from the Honda. We have DNA evidence that we took. >> Of course, there would be Rich's DNA in my Honda. >> Of course, Rich's DNA is in there. Whose DNA shouldn't be in the Honda? >> Whose blood should not be in the Honda? >> Nobody's blood has ever been in the Honda. >> There is blood. There was blood in the Honda. >> Whose blood do you think was in the Honda? >> I don't know. >> I'll tell you. Angela's blood. >> Where was it? >> It was in the Honda. We're giving you information. We are >> not out here to hang you. >> This is real information. >> Huh? This is real information. >> We don't We don't This This isn't a [ __ ] time. Somebody's in jail for murder. We're not bullshitting you. >> We're not telling you the truth. >> And again, I'm going to explain again. It's DNA evidence. It shows exactly who it belongs to. And it's not the only DNA evidence. That's part of it. Do we owe it to you to tell you these things? No, we don't. But we want you to tell us what you know. That's why we're sharing these things cuz we know you know more. >> She was pregnant when she was murdered. >> She was pregnant when Richie killed her. Don't say that >> it's the truth. That's the evidence that we've gathered. >> What evidence? >> It's scientific evidence. Was a weapon used. >> We cannot change >> the scientific evidence. It's solid. >> I want to know what the evidence is. You're accusing my husband. Absolutely. >> Of cheating on me, of having sex with these three women, >> and now of killing Angela. >> What do you want to know? >> Yeah. >> I want to see her dead body. I want to see exactly how grave >> she's she's been buried. She's been laid to rest. >> She doesn't even hesitate before throwing shade at a dead woman without a shred of proof. But when it comes to her husband, even with overwhelming evidence of infidelity, she's suddenly all about denial and loyalty. That kind of double standard doesn't come from logic. It comes from blind allegiance or fear. >> Well, I want to see a picture. I want to know exactly. >> And again, she tries to regain control by demanding to see the arrest warrant. It's the classic move of someone clinging to rules when the walls are already closing in. And I'll tell you what, when we picked them up today, he wasn't a bit surprised. >> He didn't respond like you're responding to us. He didn't respond. I mean, if somebody showed up and and told me that they have an arrest warrant for me right now for murder, I'd have a lot of questions and I'd be saying, "You know what? You got the wrong guy." >> You know what he said to me? Said, "Okay." >> And he knew we were coming. I think you both knew that eventually we were coming. Is that fair to say? >> You weren't surprised to see me at the school. When I told you in the classroom door that you're going to come with me down at the police department, you didn't ask one question. You weren't curious whatsoever. Because I know from watching TV that anything you say is against you even before your mind. >> No, I don't think it's that. >> I don't. I think in the back of your mind, you knew that you would be down here at some point or you would see us at some point. I I think you knew that. >> What could be used against you if you did nothing wrong? >> Well, that's what I'm trying to figure out. >> I can tell you right now, if you did nothing wrong, you're not in trouble. you know that Richie murdered his ex-wife and he killed the baby that was inside her stomach. >> And it may not, we may not be able to see that it was physical, violently physical between you and Richie, but at some point I think you would have caught on to his other life. And I don't think you're one to hold back when you find out something like that cuz you got pissed off at him when he didn't have his wedding ring on at work. >> He doesn't even have a wedding ring. He's never had a wedding ring from our >> You were pissed. You You You made a comment about all these chicks wanting him. Need to get a wedding ring on that finger. Okay. I think you would have eventually found out about all his extra women on the side and you would have told him how pissed you were. Richie doesn't like that. He doesn't like to be confronted about his stuff on the side, his ladies on the side if he was still on the side. And eventually it would have got physical. And he'd already lost his cool at work. That had nothing to do with any of those pictures at all. Nothing. That was on his own valition. He did that all on his own. >> More than once. >> He lost control. I can I know twice. Once Trinity knows about. I know another time because he talked about it with somebody. The detectives are getting under her skin. You can see it. But the outcome was not what they were hoping for. Instead of cracking, Cindy redirects the conversation. And now the focus moves to Angela and Richie's marriage. And the version that Richie fed her >> at him or words are different than physically hurting someone. >> Yeah. And when they live together, she would slap him. She'd slap [ __ ] didn't close the door properly. Years old. >> Is that okay? It's not. But that doesn't mean we cause harm to people and physically hurt them or get arrested for it. >> And you're hearing that. You're hearing that from Richie, right? Have you ever witnessed any of that from her? >> Witness Angela >> being slapping him or >> No, because anytime I see her, she's sitting in her vehicle, >> right? And that was on Sundays during the exchange, right? This just Chris and Richie would exchange the kids, right? >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> I know Angela was mean. I've seen that. I've read it. I've seen it. I've heard about it. I know about it. I know she could be mean. I've read the emails. Regardless of how mean of a [ __ ] somebody can be, it's it's not okay to kill. >> When Yeah, I believe that too. Right. >> And but the thing is is you're angry with her. It shows so much by the responses you have. They're just words. >> And that's >> when I say stupid [ __ ] like in those emails, it's mostly like sarcasm. Like >> and you can tell me that, but the way I'm I I read it and I'm not I'm this is physical evidence I'm reading. Read through a lot of it. That's how I know you guys so well. It's angry. And I'm not I'm not holding that against you. I can understand to be pissed off at her cuz she keeps throwing [ __ ] at you guys. >> Well, that's all it is. It's just [ __ ] It's her perception of the world. It's her >> and I feel that she's gone. >> We are still dealing with it. She's going to be in counseling for the rest of her life. >> Richie made that happen. Richie killed her mom. Who >> would have been in counseling regardless of Angela being dead or not. Okay. >> You say Richie did it. >> Who was going to counseling time? >> Now mother's dead. >> It changes the game a little bit with counseling. We may have been in the being going in that direction as it was. It's 10 times worse. And Richie just let it happen cuz he's selfish and he thought about his own him. He thought him. That's all. That's it. That's all he's ever thought about. He put on a good show. He was nice to you. He was sweet to you. He did show that he cared about you. So >> Richie did something horrible and you know it. And it's time that you step up, Cindy, and be the mother that you never had. A lot of pe a lot of people learn from from their parents. A lot of people learn good. Most people learn good. Many learn bad or experience bad. and you've experienced bad. And I'm not saying that I can only imagine that you took that bad and thought, you know, I'm not going to be that way. But it's time to it's time to be honest with us and to decide that you're going to you're going to change because you need to change, too. Be fair. Be honest. >> I don't know. I don't know anything else. That's what it is. >> You may think, "Oh, maybe this isn't that big of a deal or anything." And it probably isn't, but it would satisfy me to the point to where uh you're at least telling us what you know, >> but you're not telling us that right now. Why'd you do it? >> I don't I still don't know that he did do it. >> He did it. We don't need to say that again. We don't you don't give an arrest warrant and put somebody in jail for murder when you don't have the proof that they did it. You don't do that. This isn't TV. TV's close to how things go. That's pretty close, but this isn't TV. We're in real life. I'll say it again. This isn't just stuff getting thrown together. Everything is in order. And that's why he's in jail for murder. >> He did it. Why did he do it? >> Because he hates her. Because Because of money? Because of the children? Why? >> You're asking me a question I don't know. >> I am asking you a question that I know you know. what your mom did growing up from what I know just from you spitting out a minute worth of information on her is not right. What Richie did here is not right. Somehow you need that needs to come out. Those kids need to be raised to be happy. That's about it. A person just needs to be happy. You can live on a small amount of money and be happy. Let's take a second to just You have information on this without saying telling me anything on it. Let's just be fair and with each other. You have information that you can tell us. Correct. No, you must. I just can't imagine a relationship that would go through the beginning of this investigation to where you wouldn't be asking questions, you wouldn't be sharing information. There was a time that you woke up that morning and Richie wasn't there. >> And from your personality type that I picked up on, you're not one to just let it slide. You asked him or you knew where he was going and what he was doing or you asked him where he was, what he was doing. Tell us about that. >> Now, the detectives are zeroing in on something deeper into her unresolved trauma about her mom and her childhood. And you can tell they hit something raw because Cindy keeps bringing it up without being asked. When I was up with the kids, he was at home last night. When he wasn't home, it was before I came home from work. This is your opportunity to tell us right now in person what you do know. But I'll let you know that if you talked about it through an email, if you sent them a text message, you talked about anything through Facebook Messenger, anything. And there's slew of other things that you look into on either of your phones, we're going to find it. And then when we do find it and incriminates you into this, we're not going to give you the convenience of walking through the school without handcuffs on. When we get to that point where we can put you in with this crime, >> we're going to come arrest you tomorrow and find out. >> We're not there's no convenience to it. >> Story didn't end there because Richie had a different version of events, the one he'd been saving. >> Richie, remember us? Detective Matay, Detective Goodman with the Met Police Department. Um, this reporting present is your attorney, K Rosenquist. Um, and because you are still in custody, I'm going to read your rights before we talk about anything or anything is discussed. Okay. U, you do have the right to remain silent. Anything you say, can will be used against you in a court of law. You have any rights in mind if you wish to talk with us? >> Thank you, sir. >> Okay. Um, Detective Goodman and I understand that you want to speak with us. And it's my understanding that you want to share your involvement in this crime, in this homicide. >> So, start from the beginning. >> I I' I'd like to see you start from I mean, if there was a plan, when did this plan start? Who came up with the idea? Where were you at? Just kind of start with that. I would give you a starting point and then just kind of go from there. Okay. >> Um, so, uh, let's see. It would be Angela had to go out of town for emergency meeting uh or e I'm sorry emergency funeral or something. So she left uh I got the kids from her early. So I had them for a week and a half and she came back and she had them for you know a week and a half. That was the agreement. So, her week and a half when she got uh my week and a half to her week and a half and then when I was getting them back from them on her week and a half, uh Chris brought them brought to the school. That's where we were going to do it cuz it was the middle of the week. And uh >> was this something to do with like Chris's grandma or somebody's grandma down in >> I have no clue. We we didn't discuss why she had to go out. She just said it was an emergency and then she just said that there was a funeral. Okay. >> I I don't know who's who um like what what it was for. >> When was that? Man, >> if you don't know exactly just roughly if you remember something that was going on in your life or >> I'm I'm trying to think cuz it was just it was out of the blue and it was weird. Um >> All right. So So you're at the school and you kind of said that that was the start of things. >> That was the start. Um uh Chris was supposed to give me and then I was you know um so he was up there with and um his kids and um we both were kind of waiting like where the lobby/ the front of the school is right there the entrance to Longfellow. And while we were waiting, um, Chris said he kind of came up with an idea to like where I could get full custody of my kids and he could get full custody of his cuz I guess they were, you know, having some issues which, you know, didn't surprise me. Um, >> did you know about the issues at this point or did is that when you went into this? >> That's kind of he didn't go into the issues. He just stated they had issues. But from my marriage with her and then her ex-husband's marriage with her, you know, I just, you know, it didn't surprise me if they had issues. I just I didn't pry into their personal life cuz that I try to keep my life separate from hers because um it's pertaining to the kids. I didn't want to know about it. >> So So that day at Mom Fellow, you you find out they're having issues and you're not surprised because you've had issues with them. >> And just you know, she's I just I don't know. I just wasn't surprised about it, you know, and um >> he didn't go into the issues at all. >> He didn't go into the issues. He just said they were having issues. And but he said he had a plan that I could get full custody of my kids and he gave full custody of his. And um so I was like, "What do you mean?" and he gave me two photos and one photo was uh um um them all would be um Chris, Angela, and in front of a sign for Yellowstone Park. And the other photo, I didn't know what it was at first. It was like a uh looked like they were on a going on a roller coaster or something, but it was Angela and you know and the kids in the photo. And I was like, "What is this?" And he's like, "Well," he was like, "Well, I I'm going to give you these photos." And then I give you these photos. Uh it shows proof that we've taken them out of state, which is not, you know, it's getting started divorce decree. I was like, "Okay." You know, I don't understand why you're just randomly giving me photos, you know, but he said >> this was that day at Longfellow. This is that day at Longfell. And so he's like he's like, "Here's the photos." He's like, "Um, he thought that she would, uh, or he handed me the photos and he said, you know, um, this proves that, you know, we went out of town or whatever." And he's like, "I'll testify to that if you help me out, you know, for custody issues." And I was like, "Okay, what do you like? What do you want?" He said he thought that she was cheating, you know. Um, and that didn't surprise me either. And so I was like, "Okay." I was like, you know, like, "How am I going to prove that she, you know, how am I supposed to approve she?" And he said when he goes to work that he thought somebody was coming over and that she had said that somebody would, you know, was coming over and she was cheating on him with. So he said, he's like, "The plan was," he's like, "Well," he's like, "I'm going to be at work one night. I'm going to call you and then uh have you come get me. We'll get over there." He's like, "And we'll catch him in bed and then you can testify against or testify for me in court against her that she's cheating on me and having some strange guy, you know, at the house cuz the kid was there." And then in turn, he would testify for me and then we both get full custody cuz I know I know he wanted to move back to Alabama. I know he wanted to go back to um uh the Birmingham area. >> Let's say for argument's sake this version of Richie's story is true. Then why wait? Why didn't he mention it sooner? Why not say it before the cuffs went on? Why did it take a jail cell to remember the truth? >> He So, you know, we were going to testify and, you know, I get custody, I get doesn't mean she'd be out forever, you know, but um he would have his kid full time and could do what he wanted and I could uh you know, have my kids full time, you know, and that would kind of help with, you know, everything going on. So, I was like, "Yeah, sure." You know, cuz that, you know, you're going to help me, I'm going to help you. That sounds good to me. And he um he he gave me a phone. It was like a cheap flip phone. And he says, "This is what I'll call you on that way, you know, if um that night where I can just call you on the phone and we can hop to it." And I was like, "All right." You know, it works for me. You know >> what did he mean by we can hop to it. >> Like uh you know we can do we can go catch this person cheating. That's what I'm assuming hop to it when he said it. >> Catch catch Angela cheating. >> Yeah. Catch her catch her in bail with somebody and I didn't know if he was going to take photos like I was just going to be like just a witness witness or you know what was going to happen. So >> and this was uh again you guys are standing in the entryway at Longfellow and >> this all took place in one meeting. >> Yes sir. You didn't have multiple times that he talked about this? >> No. >> Okay. >> So, >> okay. So, where did this phone that he gave you, whose phone it was that? >> I don't know. It was just a cheap phone. It didn't have anything in it. I mean, text messages, contacts. It just was like a cheap phone. And >> where is that phone now? >> Uh, he took it. So, >> when did he take it? >> Well, that night. >> Okay. The night that Angela was killed. >> Okay. So, he had it with him. He well uh yeah he took it with him. I can keep going through the story and explain it if you helps. Okay. >> Um but anyway so then um I remember uh oh so I didn't hear anything from him. So I honestly you know I didn't think anything was going to you know go down or I figured he just would re you know went back on his plan or you know I I didn't know. I figured he just got scared. I I don't you know I just thought I was like well at least I have two pictures and um but he he called me that night. It would have been around see cuz the kids got like 1:30 1:45 but he called would have been around around 2:00ish is when he called. >> And what number did he call you from? >> Uh I don't know the number. I just know it was like 701. It was either a 240 or a 340 number. >> Okay. >> And did you recognize the number to be Chris's phone or >> No. Well, no. I just um I don't really know what his number is. I They keep telling me that he kept they kept changing their numbers, so I never knew who number was what and whose phone was what. But um >> Had you ever talked to him on that phone before? >> On his phone? >> Yeah. on that flip phone that he gave you. >> That was the first time >> but that phone ever rang before. >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, all of a sudden it's it's just like the call from the >> That's why I figured he just wasn't going to do it cuz there wasn't a call or a text or you know he never said anything else any you know exchange you like nothing like that. It was just so I figured he just was like BSing me or you know um went back on his plan or you know I I didn't know. >> So the call So was up about 1:30 1:45. Were you up with it then? >> No. My wife I started to get up. My wife's like I'll do it. So she went and got up with put back in bed >> and then so about 15 minutes after that around 2 a.m. uh the phone rang. >> Yeah. Or Yeah. vibrated. Yeah. Okay. And was Sydney still awake when the phone rang? >> No, she sleeps hard. >> Cuz like we don't know the kids get up until they come in the bedroom and like wake us up. >> Okay. >> Well, tell me about the phone call. >> So, he called me and he said, "Hey," he said, "I'm going to" He's like, "I'm pretty sure the person's there." He's like, "I'm going to call Angela." And you know, cuz I guess uh I'm assuming in their phone calls like or their conversations like I guess she would, oh yeah, I'm you know, doing this or doing that. I don't just by what he said, but he um so he called my or called that phone and he uh he's like, "Hey, I'm about to call Angela." He's like, "I'm pretty sure that guy's there." He's like, "Why don't you come down and get me and then, you know, we'll head up and catch him in the act." So, I was like, "All right." So, I just threw some clothes on real quick, you know, got in the car. Um drove to Walmart. Um >> what car did you get in? >> The um uh the Pilot. >> Remember that car? The one that was spotless? This is the same one that's now under a microscope because sometimes the cleanest surfaces hide the dirtiest secrets. >> Why the Honda Pilot? You don't normally drive that, do you? >> No, not normally. >> Why did you get in the Honda Pilot? >> Oh, well, my car is kind of crappy and he's a big guy and plus my car is like super loud. you know, if we're going to catch somebody having sex with somebody, you pull up in the driveway like, you know, okay, dude might run out the back door or whatever and you might not see them. >> So, you jumped in your car or in the Honda Pilot then and then went to Walmart. >> Went to Walmart. Okay. Um uh and then I got to Walmart probably around see it would have been around like 2:15ish because uh you know he said he'd already talked to Angela and he's like yeah he's like whoever's cheating on is there with her. So I was like all right. So I'm like cool we'll get there you know and you know in my mind I'm think we'll get there and we'll catch you know we'll see it and I can you know witness or whatever. Like I said, I I didn't ask him if he was going to take pictures or anything. I just assumed he had it planned out like what he was going to >> Did you see him with the camera or his phone out or anything like that that would indicate he was going to try and record this? >> No, when he got in the car, he was just, you know, in the car. Um, and then so we got in, so we drove back to his house. We uh you know got out of the car, went he unlocked the door, we went in and we you know uh I just followed him uh went up some stairs and went through like a living room cuz there a light on or whatever and then he opened their bedroom door and I just stayed at their bedroom door cuz I was just >> So he How did he open the door get to get into the house >> with a key? >> Okay. And then you walked in and and describe that again for me. there was a living room or like >> tell me exactly what you saw when you >> Oh, okay. Well, I cuz I was following him and uh cuz I never been there before so I didn't know we were going but we walked in and then we went up some stairs and then we went through a room. I think it was the kitchen cuz like I was falling but it like had tile or something on. And then um we went through like I'm assuming it's their living room, the light on and the couch and stuff. And then we went um I turned the corner and then he went to the room on the right and he opened the door. That was like their bedroom. There's a bed and a dresser and stuff in there. >> So he opened the door. >> He opened the door. >> Okay. Where were you at at this time? I was still behind him and as he was going in the room, I just stood at their bedroom door cuz I was supposed to be just a witness to see um who this person was that she was, you know, supposed to be cheating. And when we opened the door, there was like some, you know, the cover was pulled over and there was somebody here and like somebody here. You could it looked like there was two people in the bed, you know. So, as soon as he opened the door, he went around to uh it would have been the far side or whatever. And as he went around to the far side, he uh like grabbed the cover, you know, and I'm thinking, "Okay, he's going to pull back the cover. We're going to see who this person is, you know." And um so as he pulled back the cover, he like he grabbed her. And of course, when he pulled back the cover, the first thing I noticed, there wasn't a person on the left. That was a body pillow. You know, you know what I'm talking about? body pillow, >> one of those long. >> Yeah, it wasn't a I thought it was in person. So, I was like I was like, "Oh, man." I was like, "So, in my mind, I'm thinking, oh, you know, we um she was just lying to him and getting him worked up, you know, she likes to do that sometimes or a lot." And so, I was like, "Oh, well, she just, you know, lied to him, whatever." But when he round when he went around to that side and he pulled the cover back, he grabbed her and he just started like, you know, like making a motion and there blood there started blood. So I'm assuming he was stabbing her. And of course my wife's not my ex-wife's not somebody that just gives into things. She, you know, she doesn't like just roll over and, you know, do whatever you want kind of person, you know. So of course she went to fight back and like he drove her off the bed and kept just stabbing her. And uh sorry. Um he just kept stabbing her and you I was like, "What the [ __ ] you doing, man?" I ran over there. I ran over there. I touched her neck to feel her pulse, you know, cuz she was kind of like, you know, like, you know, there was just blood everywhere. And like as I would touch her pulse, whatever, she like leaned up and like scratched the mess out of my face. I grabbed her hands. She was just like, "I love you." >> Richie claims that after stabbing Angela, she said, "I love you." Not, "What are you doing?" or "Please stop, but I love you." And then he doubles down and says she was just the kind of woman who didn't like to give up. Well, yeah. She didn't want to give up on her life. >> And he just starts stabbing her more. And I was like, "What the [ __ ] are you doing?" So I walked out of the room into the living room and he came like I know he was like it was violent. It wasn't anything that was like he wasn't like it was just violent like anyway. So I walked in the living room and I'm just like thinking I'm like what the what's going on? You know there's nobody in the bed. I just like I I don't it doesn't make sense. you know, we're not we're supposed to be catching somebody so we can use things in court, you know, and he's just going crazy. But I walk in the living room, he goes in the living room and like, so like I I start walking towards him cuz I'm like, you know, I'm like, you know, you know, screw this. You know what I mean? This dude's crazy. And he's like, he's like, if you [ __ ] tell anybody, he's like, I'm going to kill your wife and I'm going to kill your littlest one. And I was like, "What?" And he's like, "Yeah." I was like, "You're not going to kill anybody, man." You know, I I just I was getting I was getting mad, you know, cuz things were just going crazy. And I was like, "You're not going to kill anybody, man." And he he was like He's like, "Yeah, I am." He's like, "I'm going to kill your wife." He's like, "Plus, if you do something to me, this is my house." He's like, "What do you think it's going to look like if you and I get into it and the cops show up and you're at my house and your ex-wife's dead in the next room?" I was like, "I, you know, I don't know. I just I just stopped." And he's like, "I'm serious." is he's like, "You try anything?" He's like, "I'll just call the cops and you're in my house with me and my and you you're attacking me with my ex or with your ex-wife and she's dead." He's like, "What do you you know, what do you think they're going to say?" And I was just like, "Fuck, man." I was like, "I don't know what to do, you know?" And he's like, "I'm serious." He's like, "You say anything?" He's like, he's like, "They're going to [ __ ] die." And he's like, and then when he calls us, he's like mine. as he tries to describe Christopher, but if you watched the last episode, you already know his version doesn't match reality. You've seen Christopher. Does he look like that? In fact, this sounds more like projection than description. >> He went to the kitchen and grabbed a rag. It's a red rag. I remember that specifically cuz there's so much blood in the red. He grabbed that and he had a I watched him. He had a like a knife, like a pocket knife, and he folded it, put it in a rag, and wrapped it up. And then uh I uh he wanted the phone. So I gave him that phone, you know, the one he gave me. And then I like we got back to the car in the car. It was pretty like I'm sorry. Before we even got to the car, we were coming out the house and as we came out the house, he locked the door from the inside. You know what I'm talking about? >> Did you go out the same way that you came in? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> And he locked the This is the back door. Sorry. We went in the back door, not the front door. >> Okay. I I am assuming it's like a back door, right? Um but he locked it, he shut it and he said man he's like he's like we got to make it look like somebody broke in. So he kicked the door in and then he pulled it back shut. You know I'm assuming it's shut or whatever. And then we I just I didn't say anything. I just walked over to the car. We got in the car and he's like I'm serious like if you say something. He's like I'm telling you. He's like I'm going to [ __ ] kill your wife and I'm going to kill your kid. I'm thinking in my mind I just saw what he did to my ex wife. There's no way, you know, I want him doing that to my wife. My wife is 4'11, you know, and uh she's little and there and and my ex-wife couldn't fight him off. He's a big guy. How's my wife going to fight him off? You know, I just got a lot of things running through my head. So, I took him back to Walmart and right before he got out, you know, dropped him off at the same spot right before he got he said the same thing. You know, I'm just threatening my family. >> And you you're you're wearing the same clothes or you were wearing the same clothes that you had on in the house. Yes, sir. >> Did you have blood on you? >> Uh, my hands like not like covered, but my hands had a little bit from where like I went to touch your neck and like grabbed her hands, you know, cuz I remember seeing it and I remember just driving with my wrist cuz, you know, there's blood on my hands. >> Did you have to clean up at all? >> I did. >> Where did you clean up? >> I uh my sink in my bathroom >> at back at your apartment. >> Back at my apartment. >> Okay. How about your clothes? Did you do you still have those clothes? Um, well, yeah. Y'all y'all took the pants. >> Okay. Those were the pants you were wearing >> and that jacket. >> There's a lawyer in the room, but you wouldn't know it by how things go. He might as well not be there. >> Um, did she What do you remember her saying um >> like when >> when when she was still alive? I mean, what I mean, when when she first realized that something was up? Well, I mean, when he went over there and pulled the covers and just started going after like she was just like like just yelling like it was mainly just all yelling. So, it was just I don't know. It just happened real fast. And like I said, it just was going crazy and just dragged her off the bed and kept going. And then when I went over there and grabbed her hand or when I went over there and went to check her pulse and uh she kind of reached up and scratched me, you know, cuz I I figure maybe I don't know. She don't know what, you know, obvious. So, I grabbed her hands and then that's when she like like looked at me and she was like, "I love you." I was just I don't know. It was just weird. And then he just like kept stabbing. I was like I just let go and just backed up. So, it was just >> You You said when he first started attacking her, you saw that there was blood when she was up on the bed. >> Yeah. Cuz I cuz like when he pulled out of cover and you know was like going forward like I stepped forward cuz I was like what's going on? you know, because I like I assume he was gonna pull back the, you know, pull back the blanket and then like the first thing I saw was the body pillow and I was like, "Oh, it's a body pillow. There's nobody here, you know, she must be playing with it." And but he was like going, you know, um going crazy. I just it was just weird. >> Other than a standard body pillow, can you describe that? Did have a pillowcase on it? Um >> I don't know. It was just uh Could we take a break for just a second? >> Sure. >> I'm sorry. Can we step out for just a second? Sure. Okay. I'm trying to you're you're telling us uh what what you're you're saying or claiming is your story of what happened and I'm trying to verify >> some additional information that you're adding to this investigation and that's Chris. Okay. >> Um so so that's what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to me knowing the case, I'm trying to verify in my mind uh the information that you're giving me. That's why we're asking a lot of questions. >> Yes, sir. >> Um tell me about the discussion between you and Chris once you're back in the car. >> Well, he just when we got in the car, he just threatened me again and it was pretty much like awkward silence the whole way and then before he got out of the car again, he just he said it again. So, >> you said made a threat again. >> Made a threat again. >> What did he say? He just say, he's like, "I'm serious." He's like, "If you tell anybody," he's like, "I'm going to kill your wife and I'm going to kill your little one." You know, your little one. >> Okay. >> He never said their names. He just kept saying your wife and your little one. >> What time did you get back to your apartment? >> Uh, it was close to three. >> How do you know that? >> Um, cuz I remember I came in and um I could have sat in the car for like 30 seconds to a minute. like I just kind of couldn't believe what everything would happen, you know, and then um I, you know, just looking at the clock on the um uh on the dashboard or what do you call it? Just looking and I was like, I man cuz that's when I realized like everything happened so fast, you know what I mean? Like really fast. And then I uh got out of the car and went upstairs and then I went to the bathroom and was washing my hands and you know I usually sleep nude or in like basketball shorts and um so I just um washed my hands real good and you know I I kind of got back in bed and then got up again and may I may have woke her up I guess when I came in and you know she got up again and came in the room and and Cindy woke you she woke you know and I up Well, I was already awake, but folks send you up and then I'll get up and wait and got them. So, >> so you were gone for about an hour then? >> About an hour. >> Okay. And you know, sitting here today and whether you want to implicate Cindy or not, she had to know you know you were gone. >> Um, and you can refuse to answer that, but I mean it's a slap in the face I think to us that to say that oh no, she didn't know I was gone. I never told her anything and if she did, she never told me. >> Okay. >> So, she's never questioned you on, you know, I woke up and you were gone. What What was up with that? You told her a different story or anything? Okay. >> We don't know for sure who drove, but Cindy knew. That much is clear. She stalked Angela. She was aware of the plan. She may have even facilitated it. What happened was horrific, but what makes it worse is what happened after. And after Richie came home from what he had done, they had sex. >> We don't have to give you any more opportunities. There's nothing written that says we have to after today. We don't have to ask you why, how, what, when, where, everyone. Is this going to trial if he chooses to to for it to go to trial? >> This isn't fair that you're in this situation. I could be wrong on that. Maybe it maybe it's more fair than I feel right now, and I'm okay being wrong with that, too. But it's my gut feeling right now. it. There's been so many times that your mind has been to that point that puts that look on your face of do I say this or don't I say this? Should I just tell him this or not? >> And that's why I'm telling you that this is your opportunity. We're not going to let this go. However today ends, we're we're not done. Well, I just want you to know if I ever die, don't even don't even don't investigate it. Just [ __ ] I'm dead. move on with your [ __ ] life. >> No, >> honestly do that because >> if that ever happened to you, just like it happens to happened to Angela or and it happens to many people around our world. >> I can only speak for the city of Mina. I don't care who you are. >> I am going to bat for you. >> You're a human being. You're a person. It doesn't matter what your history is. It doesn't matter who and why. Nobody deserves to be killed. >> Why would you deserve that? >> I don't know. I just I think it's just people get so wrapped up on everything. Like just move on with your life. Like have you ever heard one of Taylor Swift's [ __ ] songs about a breakup? [ __ ] move on with your life. Like, [ __ ] >> Like, Adele is just as bad. I'm gonna call you a thousand times. No, [ __ ] don't. >> I know. Just move on. >> Somewhere between discussing homicide and guilt, Cindy decides it's the perfect time to name drop Taylor Swift and Adele. Just when you thought this interrogation couldn't get stranger. >> I'm very I I I mean, you brought that up. If you're ever found dead, God, I hope that's not ever the case. I think you're I I don't know you that well, but from I I think you're a decent person. You became a teacher because you wanted to help even though that they're driving you [ __ ] crazy right before Christmas. >> Yeah. and a mom. I think you I think they frustrate you, but I think you you do your best at a mom. I really do. And being a mom is stressful. I am a mom. I know exactly how it is. It's a heavy load. Mhm. and and you have to be mom to these these kids there if you want >> to do that. You're going to have to be there. So don't lead us in the direction that we have to. >> But if somebody sat my wife down and said, "Yeah, told her that I'm in jail for murder." She would be devastated. She wouldn't act like I'm not surprised. And that was your response. >> No, I'm I don't believe you. That's >> what What do you What do you need? What do you need, Ted? >> When he walked by you this last time, he was on his way to the jail. He's He's going to jail. He's booked in. He's sitting in the jail cell and he's not getting out. He's staying there. And if you really don't know and if you really don't if you really weren't there, how convenient of that was for him to use your vehicle to go there and do this. >> He didn't give a [ __ ] >> He put you there with him. >> We're at a point where you can start to live your life the way that Cindy chooses. to live it. Not the way that Richie chooses. And you may sit here and think that and go, he doesn't choose. I do what I want. I do this. I'm the besides this and that. But >> no, >> he is a manipulator. We know that >> he's he's got you at home taking care of the kids. And he's got you working. And he's he he he puts you right where he needs you to be so that he can do his thing. He gets to work out, gets to work. He gets to have during the day off so that either grandma can watch the kids or Janelle can watch the kids. Who watches the kids so you can go do something? When's the last time you were out with friends? Or did a hobby that you like? You don't like to drink alone? Not many people do. It's weird. When's the last time you got up and had a good time? I know you wanted to spend time with Richie away from the kids. >> I also don't like leaving my kids with babysitters or even with family. I don't like that. >> I can understand that. But Richie never made a point to try to be with you and go do something. I don't like telling you all of these nasty, horrible things about your husband that you didn't know. I don't like doing that. I don't. Whether you believe me or not, I don't like doing that to people. But you need to know, and I need it to be very clear, that he did not care what he was doing. He was taking care of him. No matter what need he was meeting, friendship, working out, physical, health, sexual, you and again, we're not trying to do that, but is it painful to see the pictures of these girls? They're just pictures of their face. That doesn't tell me anything. >> Well, it tells me a lot. It shows me what he's attracted to because to me, I look at them and gosh, from a distance, they look like sisters. They're very similar. Their builds are very similar. I don't really know what to make of all that either, but it's We don't do it to hurt you. We do it so you know the truth. You're very young, Cindy. Very, very young. You can you have time to to live a happy life. You have more than enough time. You're you're barely an adult. And I don't mean that insulting. One thing that bothers me sitting here talking to you is is how hard you're digging and it makes me wonder if you were involved more than than uh what you're what you're telling us or if there's something that you can get in trouble for here. I think that's been made obvious in the TV and the movies too. When you say you watch all that stuff, you know that you can get in trouble for different things that are just related to the crime. You know what I mean? >> Yeah. I suppose >> accessories >> you cover up for somebody. >> Conspiracy. >> If you had a conversation and you know details about someone's involvement, he lied. So there's multiple things that can come back around and pull you down with them. >> I don't have anything to tell. >> I don't believe you. So you can if if you don't want to talk now, I I beg of you to please reconsider. >> After wrapping up the formal interrogation, the detectives engage in a few minutes of casual conversation just to see if anything slips. But Cindy repeats what she's been saying from the start. She doesn't believe Richie did it, but this is what she says next. >> I I want to see the weapon. I want to see a fingerprint on it. I want to see where it stabbed her. I want to see pictures. There's I don't have any information at all. I don't have any evidence. This is >> We gave you a lot of We got We gave >> This is your word and three pictures of women. >> If it was my word. Oh, you're talking about his his sexual affairs. Oh, I don't give two shits about that right now. I'm more concerned about my husband being in jail for a murder. And you say you have it was a knife. Well, where is this knife? Were his fingerprints on this knife? >> You know, Cindy, in the perfect world, we'd have a a video of every crime that happened. We'd have >> superhero. She had surveillance of her house. >> When did she say that? >> In a text message. she said or not in text cuz they don't text. In an email she said, "Oh yeah, I see every time you drive by my house, blah blah blah." >> Well, let me tell you this. If she had surveillance of her being murdered, we would have picked up Richie right away that that day. >> Um, the man just threatened my wife. I'm sure not going to tell her that she's being threatened. That's just more stress on her. She's already kind of a stressed out person. and and C Chris's what was Chris's uh motive for >> I don't know >> for doing this >> I don't know he never said and you know um >> well you talked a little bit about a motive about a discussion >> well I mean >> long fellow >> yeah they they were having issues you know so that's why we were supposed to you know I was going to witness for him he's going to witness for me and we were going to you know go to court and test on his behalf of uh all my all my dealings with her you know and and things like that Mhm. Um, and of course that she used, you know, had some strange person in the house, you know, uh, with her kid and that I, uh, they was going to testify for me and, you know, kind of back each other up, made a sentence supposed to be. >> Okay. So, was it over custody then? >> Yes, sir. >> This might be the only time we hear something close to the truth because what's being said here is the motive. >> Um, the phone that he gave you, do you remember the the make of it? Um, a black flip phone. They reminded me of like those uh cheap Verizon phones, you know what I mean? >> Did it say Verizon? You know how some of them say Verizon on them or um it might be like a Verizon track phone or >> I think it said like LG. >> Yeah. >> Um and how long did you say you had it again? from the time he gave it to me till that night. So >> 3 months or a month? >> It would have been No, it only been like a week or so. >> Okay. >> If he gave it to me in November, it only been like a week or so. >> Okay. So we we can we can have two weeks in that time frame. >> Yes, sir. >> Um did you ever have to charge the phone? >> Yes, sir. >> And where did you charge it at? >> Oh, I charged it when Cindy was at work. I just charging on the kitchen counter up on the aisle or the not the aisle. The counter. >> Okay. The island. >> No, not the island. No, sorry. >> Just the regular. >> Yes, sir. >> Where's the charger at? >> No. It might It's might still be in the laundry room in a bag cuz I have a bag like electronics in it. >> Okay. And that's where you kept it. So that's where it should be. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Um, >> do you have any issues with us going and looking in your apartment for that charger and those pictures? >> Yeah, that's my wife. >> But you're okay with it? >> Um, I I don't I don't care. >> I don't know why you're looking at me. >> Oh, I don't I don't The whole warrant thing still gets me confused. Okay. >> I don't care. >> You don't care? So if she's good with it, you're good with it. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> At this point, it's not just the the lawyer is ineffective. He's not even trying to help. >> When we first interviewed you, Richie, why did you not tell us this? Well, one because he kept threatening my family and I was worried that if I told y'all and then you went and talked to him and then you know nothing happened and he was going to carry it out cuz I just watched him like it was violent like seriously violent and like just there it was just bad. And so I figure if I told y'all and y couldn't do anything about it or he didn't or whatever, you know, what's to stop him from doing something to my family, especially if I'm at work, you know? I mean, he already did it once, why wouldn't he do it again? Especially if you already made the threat a bunch of times. Plus, no offense, I told you I didn't trust you. I just I don't trust police from being young, you know. So I And then uh also, I was kind of waiting on getting a lawyer. I didn't know I had to um be arrested to, you know, get a lawyer uh cuz I don't have any money. There's no way I can, you know, afford um one. And so, uh >> you were read your rights that day before anything was ever discussed with you. I know you were aware of the lawyer. >> I I know that, but I mean like um uh he can't get an appointed lawyer until he's arrested is what he's >> and he knows the law, and I don't know the law. to me if you would have asked. >> I didn't know that. I thought I had to get one myself. >> You do, but we would provide it away. >> Oh, I didn't know that. >> We asked you that that day if you'd take a polygraph. You said you would, and then you decided not to. Um, and that's that's you're right. Um, we obviously wanted to know if you knew more about this and if you were if you were lying. I mean, it's fair to say you lied to us, right, in the first interview. Yes, sir. >> Okay. Is it fair to say you're lying to us at this interview? >> No, sir. >> Okay. Are you willing to take a polygraph? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Nobody else knows anything about it? >> No, sir. >> Nobody else was involved in it? >> No, sir. >> Anything that you can think of that you think is important? I mean, we try and ask all the right questions and everything, but nobody's perfect. Anything that you think of that that we missed that we should have talked to you about? That's all I can think of. Unless I have any questions or anything I'll think of. >> Up until now, the detective has been patient and measured, but that's about to change because now it's time to get direct. >> I have a question. Okay. I know from your admission that you were there, but I I it doesn't fit. This what you're telling us does not fit cuz I know that Chris did not leave Walmart between the during the hours that you say that he did. I know that 100%. He did though. >> He did not. I've I've verified that. I got very little sleep last night because I verified that you were involved in this, Richie. Obviously, you've told us some truths, but not everything. I told you everything that happened. >> No, you didn't. Chris did not leave Walmart during those times. >> I know he didn't. I picked him up. >> I know he didn't because I watched him on video. I watched the minutes click by. I just watched that at >> last night. >> I watched him at work. We saved all that video for a reason. I was given more video last night that I need to turn over to the state's attorney's office today. Video that I didn't even know >> that that they had still. >> You're in a in a tough situation. I mean, it's I don't know if you did this on your own or if there was somebody with you, but it wasn't Chris. It makes sense to you. I mean, I I don't know. I'm being honest with you. I don't know if somebody else was with you. I don't know if there's somebody else that that killed her that uh that you're putting Chris's name on. Um, is that possible? Maybe. But but you're giving us details that that that indicate that you were there. And I think you killed her. >> I didn't kill anybody. >> I think you killed Angela. I didn't. >> The detectives pressing harder. Richie's unraveling and the lawyer is still pretty irrelevant. >> Who did that? Cuz you were there. >> Yeah, I told you Chris did. >> You either killed her or you're our only eyewitness. >> I didn't kill her. >> Then who did? >> I just said Chris did. No, >> you can't make it fit when it doesn't. >> You can stop anytime you want. >> It's I I'd like the the honest truth. Obviously, >> you can stop anytime you want. All right, I'll stop. Okay. I appreciate you talking to us. >> The lawyer only chimes in when Richie makes eye contact. This interview is revealing far more than the first one ever did. Cynthia didn't break in the interrogation room. Richie, still trying to pull strings from the jail, was busy manipulating cellmates, but Cindy had been trying to move on and rekindled an old flame. In a moment of misplaced vulnerability, she told him everything, including the fact that she and Richie had been planning Angela's murder for a year or more. But what she didn't know was that he was wearing a wire. And finally, the master plan of this evil couple was out in the open. Richie Wilder was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole. But that wasn't the end. After a failed prison escape, he was handed an additional 5 years. In November 2017, Cindy Wilder entered an Alfred plea, admitting no guilt, but accepting the evidence was enough to convict her of conspiracy to commit murder. By May 2018, she too was sentenced to life without parole. Angela's children now live with their maternal grandmother.
