Hey adrenaline junkies, welcome to Police Chase. Today we're kicking off a brand new series, when people messed with the wrong cop, where every dumb move instantly triggers justice mode. All right, let's dive in. On June 12th, 2025, just before 5:00 p.m., the Mesa Police Department Real Time Crime Center in Mesa, Arizona, USA, alerted officers of a stolen vehicle near Power Road and University that had previously fled from officers. The air unit tracked the truck from above while detectives in unmarked vehicles closed in on the ground. >> Northbound 72nd Place. >> The stolen truck traveled east on Broadway towards 72nd Place where officers deployed a grappler device, but it failed to connect. The suspect then drove into a residential cul-de-sac, made an abrupt U-turn, crossed through a residential yard, and came face-to-face [music] with responding officers before ramming directly into an occupied police vehicle. >> Ground. Get down. Hey, put your hands up. Hands up. Hands up. Hands up. >> Put your hands up. >> An officer-involved shooting occurred at the moment of impact. The two 17-year-old juvenile suspects inside did not immediately comply with commands to exit, prompting officers to deploy a diversionary device and fire pepper ball rounds to gain compliance. Both juveniles were taken into custody. >> Let's get out of the car. >> Let's go. >> Hey, put your hands up. >> Neither juvenile was shot. The driver sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries from the collision. No officers were injured. Two 17-year-olds stole a truck, rammed a police vehicle, and still had to be pepper-balled out of the car before it was over. The vehicle they chose to drive into was occupied. >> So, I step to your right. So, I step to your right. Keep coming back. Walk back. Walk back. So, I step to your right. So, I step to your right. I step So, I step to your right. >> On July 11th, 2024, Flock cameras in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, alerted officers to a stolen maroon GMC Sierra being driven in the area of Ephraim and Azle Avenue. When officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver fled, driving recklessly and ramming a police unit before spike strips brought the chase to a stop in a parking lot near NW 28th Street and McKinley Avenue. >> The police are going back to Jacksboro going southbound. Stolen qualities. I need a ramp level. >> The driver exited the stolen truck carrying a long gun and immediately carjacked an innocent bystander nearby, taking control of their vehicle. He then exited the second vehicle, appeared to hold the firearm to his own head, and refused all commands to put the weapon down. Five Fort Worth police officers opened fire striking the suspect multiple times. He was transported to hospital in stable condition. The suspect was identified as 28-year-old Joaquin Guzman and faces charges including unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, aggravated robbery, and evading arrest. No officers or innocent bystanders were injured. A stolen truck, a carjacking, a gun held to his own head, and five officers who had no other option left. Guzman walked out of that parking lot in a stretcher instead of a body bag, which was not guaranteed when he raised that weapon. >> Don't move. >> On August 29th, 2025, during the early morning hours, Wisconsin law enforcement agency statewide received a crime alert from the Dane County Sheriff's Office requesting assistance locating a stolen white 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe connected to a homicide in Mazomanie, Wisconsin, USA. Shortly after 9:00 a.m., a Marinette police officer spotted the vehicle in the city of Marinette and attempted a traffic stop. A high-speed pursuit followed. Sheriff Randy Miller deployed tire deflation devices on US Highway 41, but the driver evaded them, lost control, and rolled the vehicle into a ditch in the town of Peshtigo. Officers Parker De Los Santos and Andrew Bonjean made contact with the sole occupant as he exited the crashed vehicle. He walked away from officers, ignored all verbal commands, and was observed carrying a sharp-edged weapon. >> Let me see your hands. >> I would wait for that. >> Hands. Show me YOUR HANDS. >> HANDS. >> SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. SHOW ME. SHOW ME YOUR HANDS NOW. >> AREA 51, I GOT A KNIFE. >> Can you talk to us, please? >> You're supposed to execute me. >> Just drop the knife, man. Just want to talk. Just want to talk. >> Get on the ground. On the ground. >> Don't move. DON'T MOVE. DROP THE KNIFE. >> PUT IT DOWN NOW. >> DROP [screaming] THE KNIFE. >> THE OPERATOR advanced on officers with the sharp-edged weapon. Sheriff Miller deployed an electronic control device, and both officers discharged their duty pistols. The operator collapsed immediately and was given emergency medical care on scene before being transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. He was identified as 23-year-old Andrew Lloyd Collamore. >> knife, man. Just want to talk. Just want to talk. >> Get on the ground. On the ground. >> Don't move. DON'T MOVE. DROP THE KNIFE. >> PUT IT DOWN NOW. >> DROP THE KNIFE. >> PUT IT DOWN NOW. DROP THE KNIFE. >> No law enforcement personnel were injured. Collamore had survived a high-speed pursuit and a rollover crash, walked away from officers after the wreck, and still chose to advance with a weapon. The alert that started in Dane County that morning ended on the shoulder of a highway in Marinette County. >> [snorts] >> Do you have a med kit or anything like that ready in your truck? >> [screaming] >> BACK! >> OFFICERS IN FLORIDA, USA, HAD pulled over 20-year-old Andrew Gibson on an outstanding failure to appear warrant. Gibson was cooperative and the stop was calm. What happened next had nothing to do with him. >> Step out of the vehicle before me, boss man. >> Oh my gosh. >> Are you good, man? You can leave the black amount right there. Put your phone over there, too. >> I just came off of work. >> bro. We'll talk about it. >> Just let me face that way. >> Face away from us. We'll talk about it right now. Ain't no biggie. >> Can I call my mom real quick, please? >> We'll talk. We'll talk. We'll talk. >> But, boss, I did not know I HAD A WARRANT. >> [screaming] >> ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES. GIVE ME RESCUE RIGHT NOW. >> Behind them, a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Alexandra Berregan drifted and struck the back of the patrol car. Officer Julian Garcia was standing between the two vehicles and was crushed on impact. His left leg was shattered. Fellow officers immediately backed the vehicle up, applied tourniquets, and called for rescue while managing both the suspect and the impaired driver simultaneously. >> GO BACK! >> [screaming] >> OFFICER, YOU OKAY? >> [screaming] >> GIVE ME GIVE ME RESCUE RIGHT NOW. >> GARCIA WAS AIRLIFTED TO HOSPITAL WHERE HE underwent multiple surgeries. Doctors were forced to amputate his left leg below the knee. Berregan was taken to hospital where her blood alcohol content measured 0.31%, nearly four times the legal limit. Gibson, the original suspect, survived without life-threatening injuries and was taken to jail on his outstanding warrant. >> His leg is completely broken. >> [groaning and screaming] >> Here. Here's my tourniquet. 6120, tourniquet applied to the left leg. >> leg. >> Juju, juju. >> My leg. OH, MY LEG. I'm sorry. I I am so sorry. I I I'll I'll sit down. >> Barragan faces multiple felony charges including DUI causing serious bodily injury to a law enforcement officer. Her case remains open with ongoing hearings more than a year later. Garcia was awarded the Purple Heart, underwent months of physical therapy, and returned to duty in [music] 2025 alongside the same partner who had been with him that night. He went to work that evening to stop a man with a warrant. The driver who changed his life had nothing to do with that stop. >> I'm so sorry. >> I know. >> I I'm sorry. >> Just relax, ma'am. >> Put her in the Just put her in the back of my car. >> Okay. Can you see okay? Can you see okay in the front seat? Please. >> On December 6, 2024, St. Louis police officers in St. Louis, Missouri, USA observed a black sedan displaying a fictitious vanity plate near Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and Goodfellow Avenue. When officers activated emergency lights and sirens, 20-year-old Martez Chadwick immediately floored the accelerator and fled through a red light at high speed. >> [screaming] >> Further down the road, another officer attempted to deploy spike strips. Chadwick swerved into oncoming traffic to avoid them and slammed into a stationary vehicle causing serious physical injury to the uninvolved driver. Both vehicles were disabled in the collision. Chadwick exited through the driver's side door and was detained at the scene. >> KEEP YOUR HANDS UP. GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. >> Just you in the car. Get on THE GROUND. >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> NO. >> GET ON THE GROUND AND >> I CAN'T GET OUT. I'M SCARED. >> Get on the ground. >> I'm on the ground. >> ground. >> I'm on the ground. >> I'm in your face. >> I'm on the ground. I'm scared. I can't see. >> Just the front seat? >> Yeah. You know, please help. >> Yes. >> Please, no. >> Shouldn't have ran, man. Shouldn't have stopped. Get him. >> [screaming] >> Help me. >> A search of the vehicle recovered a Glock 17 equipped with an illegal full auto switch. The uninvolved driver suffered a broken leg. While in custody, Chadwick repeatedly asked officers to retrieve [music] his dental jewelry from the vehicle. Officers reminded him that a person was in hospital with a broken leg because of his decision to run. >> Can I get my grill out of here? >> There's nobody in the car. >> It's a grill. >> A grill? >> Sir, has someone read you your rights? Can you get my other phones? >> Yes, someone read you your rights. >> No. >> Out of the question. >> No. >> Okay. >> Then it's all her phones. >> I I don't give a [ __ ] about that. That's not what I'm talking about, okay? >> Please. >> So, you got to understand all the [ __ ] that you just caused. And you want people to do you >> Chadwick was charged with aggravated fleeing a stop or detention causing physical injury and unlawful possession of an illegal weapon. Records showed he had three prior arrests for felony fleeing. His first concern after the crash was his dental jewelry. The person he put in hospital with a broken leg did not appear to be a concern at all. >> Okay. Don't act stupid. Take some accountability. >> Okay. Okay, sir. Can you tell them to please just get the grill out of the car? >> I know, bro. You're you're under arrest right now for felony fleeing. >> On June 3rd, 2023, a Georgia State Patrol Trooper was running stationary speed detection on Georgia Highway 204 Eastbound near Veterans Parkway in Savannah, Georgia, USA, when a gray Dodge Challenger was clocked at 88 mph. The Trooper activated emergency equipment and the Challenger immediately accelerated away, hitting 134 mph as it approached Rio Road. The Challenger weaved recklessly through traffic, turned off all its lights in an attempt to evade, and ran multiple red lights across Abercorn Street, Harry S. Truman Parkway, East President Street, Bay Street, and Victory Drive. The last speed check recorded 138 mph. The driver brake checked the Trooper twice during the pursuit. The Trooper notified dispatch of his intent to use a Precision Immobilization Technique at the first safe opportunity. >> Pit, Reagan pit. >> Southbound on Harry S. Truman Parkway, the Trooper positioned alongside the Challenger and executed the Precision Immobilization Technique. The Challenger rotated counterclockwise, struck the concrete median barrier, and came to a final stop facing northbound in the southbound lanes. The driver, identified as Tariq Jordan, was taken into custody without further incident. >> Open it outside. >> I'M BEING LOUD. I'M TRYING TO >> OPEN IT FROM THE OUTSIDE, YOU DUMB ASS. >> COME ON, PUT YOUR HANDS UP. PUT YOUR HANDS Get on the ground. >> GET ON THE GROUND! >> GET ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW. ON YOUR FACE. >> ALL RIGHT, ALL RIGHT, ALL RIGHT. OKAY, my leg, my leg. >> Shut up, [ __ ] >> Jordan had the odor of marijuana on his person and breath, exhibited bloodshot eyes and raised taste buds consistent with recent use. He admitted to smoking marijuana approximately 1 hour before the stop. He refused the state blood test. A small amount of marijuana was recovered from the vehicle and destroyed on scene. Jordan told the trooper he fled because he had recently received a speeding ticket and did not want another one. He ran at 138 mph through a city to avoid a ticket. The charge that followed was considerably more serious than the ticket would have been. On June 22nd, 2024 at approximately 9:44 p.m., Arkansas State Police Trooper Wright was notified that West Memphis Police was in active pursuit of a gray Dodge Caravan displaying Mississippi license plates on Interstate 40 eastbound in Arkansas, USA. Trooper Wright finished a traffic stop and intercepted the pursuit near the 280-mile marker, taking over as primary unit at 9:46 p.m. The Caravan was weaving through traffic at speeds exceeding 100 mph with complete disregard for other motorists. Trooper Wright executed a tactical vehicle intervention at the 283-mile marker at 9 hours 46 minutes and 25 seconds p.m. The vehicle slid from the left lane into the center lane and began traveling backward at approximately 80 miles per hour. The driver opened his door, apparently waiting for the vehicle to stop when the Caravan struck the center concrete barrier and the driver was ejected through the open door onto the roadway. Loveberry was transported to Regional One Hospital for injuries sustained from falling out of the vehicle at over 70 miles per hour. Tito T removed the Caravan from the roadway and a wrecker service impounded it. He opened his door at 80 miles per hour expecting the car to stop. The car did not stop first. That decision cost him more than the pursuit ever would have. On August 16th, 2024 at 3:10 p.m. Deputies in Forrest City, Arkansas, USA were already in pursuit of a red Dodge Ram pickup speeding recklessly through Washington Street. The driver, later identified as Andre T. Hunter, was weaving through traffic and ignoring signals with complete disregard for public safety. Arkansas State Police Trooper intercepted the pursuit near McDaniel Avenue and took over as primary unit. When it was safe to do so, the trooper executed a tactical vehicle intervention. The Dodge Ram left the roadway, rolled over, and came to rest disabled in a ditch to the east of Washington Street. Multiple officers from the St. Francis County Sheriff's Office and Forrest City Police Department formed up and conducted a high-risk felony takedown on the overturned vehicle. >> [screaming] [screaming] [screaming] >> Commands were given to Hunter to exit the vehicle. Upon exiting, Hunter was observed drinking from a can of Busch beer. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Forrest City Medical Center due to complaints of shoulder pain. Hunter faces multiple charges including driving under the influence and related traffic violations. Officers had drawn weapons, surrounded an overturned truck, and issued felony commands. The first thing Hunter did when the door opened was take a sip of beer. There are not many ways to make a worse first impression after rolling a truck in a ditch. On February 1st, 2024, a Marion County Sheriff's Deputy in Silver Springs, Florida, USA, responded to the Forest Shopping Center after a woman was reported attempting to steal another woman's car keys. When the deputy arrived, the suspect approached his patrol car as if she were the one who had called for help. As the deputy walked around to the back of his vehicle to speak with her, she jumped through the open passenger window and drove away. >> No. [ __ ] STOP. STOP. STOP. SO FAST. SHE JUST GOT IN MY CAR AND TOOK OFF. Eastbound on Highway 40 passing the sub-station. >> The woman drove the stolen patrol car into oncoming traffic, ignored all traffic signals, and reached speeds up to 125 mph, nearly causing multiple collisions. Deputies deployed spike strips ahead of the vehicle, but she spotted the police presence and turned around, nearly losing control. Miles later, while trying to pass a semi-truck on the shoulder, she lost control and crashed into a pickup truck. >> WOO! >> THE COLLISION WAS CATASTROPHIC. THE SUSPECT was trapped in the patrol car. Three occupants of the pickup truck were confirmed unresponsive at the scene. Both vehicles caught fire, requiring fire extinguishers from arriving units. Two occupants of the pickup truck and the suspect were pronounced dead at the scene. A third occupant of the truck was transported to hospital in critical condition. >> She's right there. She's right here. She's right here. Get them. Get them. Get them. Merrick, I got the police cruisers on fire. >> The stolen patrol car was destroyed along with the pickup truck in the collision and fire. Three people lost their lives because one person decided to jump through a car window and drive a police cruiser the wrong way down a highway at 125 mph. None of them had anything to do with what started at that shopping center. >> Mine's unlocked. It's unlocked. It's unlocked. It's to be on the right. Do we have any any vision any contact talking? >> On June 7th, 2023 at approximately 5:20 p.m. NYPD officers in New York City, New York, USA attempted to stop a 17-year-old male riding a moped near Shore Parkway and Bay Parkway. The rider refused to stop and fled. The rider lost control of the moped at speed and crashed into a roadside traffic barrier sending him off the bike. He fled the scene on foot immediately after the crash. Officers pursued and took the rider into custody at the Bay Ridge Promenade within the confines of the 68th Precinct. The moped sustained damage from the collision with the barrier. The rider faced charges pending from the incident and the matter was placed under internal review by the department. Refusing to stop for a traffic check ended with a crash into a barrier, a foot chase, and an arrest on the promenade. The moped did not survive the detour. On July 28th, 2025 Missouri State Highway Patrol Corporal McDonald spotted a white Chevrolet Malibu on Interstate 435 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, USA displaying expired registration belonging to a different vehicle. When the trooper attempted a stop, the driver, James Trigg, accelerated to 100 mph and fled northbound. Records later confirmed two active Jackson County warrants for tampering first degree and possession of a controlled substance. >> Registration in Kansas City car in 2024 and 1985 meters. >> 5 Do you have my 9? >> 10-4, I'm in pursuit. Yeah, I just tried to TBI him. I need to check the vehicle. We're northbound 435 at 70. It's like a >> What was your original charge? >> Registration. >> 10-50 12-50 93 12-28 in pursuit northbound 435 from Eastwood Trafficway. Chevrolet passenger car registration 8 break George 4 John 5 George >> Northbound 435 from 70. Still operating traffic. The vehicle I tried to TBI >> I just want to go northbound from Eastwood. I just want to go northbound. >> Trigg later stated he fled because of those warrants. Trigg repeatedly brake checked the patrol vehicle to block tactical vehicle intervention attempts. On Truman Road, he braked hard causing the trooper's car to strike the rear of the Malibu. Trigg regained control and merged back onto Interstate 435 continuing to flee. Trooper Craig arrived as secondary. The pursuit continued past Interstate 70 toward the US Highway 24 exit ramp. >> 13-05 939er 435 in front. >> 13-05 10-4 >> Right lane >> driver, still northbound 435, we're passing 23rd Ave, speed 90. He's slowing again here. All right, taking the exit to Truman. Still trying to TVI, he's slowing it again. I had almost lost control of the eastbound Truman. 10-50, he just brake checked me. Back northbound 435, he brake checked me. I 10-50'd into him. >> Copy. >> Northbound 435, he's coming up to 24, he's still brake checking me, speed 60. Someone's coming up behind me if you can call it. >> 4. >> On the exit ramp to US Highway 24, the trooper executed a successful tactical vehicle intervention causing the Malibu to spin out, cross a grassy area, and come to rest blocking the ramp. Trigg fled on foot toward Interstate 435 before falling as troopers closed in and was taken into custody at 1:32 a.m. A needle was found in his pocket. >> THEY LOST THAT [ __ ] YEAH. [ __ ] I GOT TO TELL THE OFFICER. >> SEE HIM? >> DUDE. >> HANDS OUT OF POCKET. >> WHERE ARE MY GLASSES? WHERE ARE MY GLASSES? WHERE ARE >> YOUR GLASSES ARE THERE. >> MY GLASSES ARE OVER THERE. ASK MY GLASSES, MAN. >> Your glasses >> are over there. >> I got your glasses, they're over there. Put your other hand behind your >> Trigg was charged with aggravated fleeing a stop or detention as a felony on top of his existing warrants for tampering and possession of a controlled substance. The Malibu displayed plates that did not belong to it and Trigg had two warrants already waiting, Running added a third charge to a list that was already long before the pursuit started. >> Yeah, don't come back to your car, guy. >> Man, I got a police report on that. >> That's unfortunate. What did you run that on? >> On June 29th, 2023, in the early hours of the morning, Lakewood Police Department officers in Lakewood, Washington, USA located a stolen Kia connected to an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven just hours earlier. During that robbery, one of the suspects had been seen on camera attempting to fire a gun at a customer before it appeared to jam. When officers found the Kia, they initiated a pursuit. Both suspects in the Kia were juveniles. The 15-year-old driver fled at high speed through the Tillicum neighborhood and onto the Freedom Bridge, where the stolen Kia collided with a semi-truck at full speed. The impact ejected the semi-truck driver from the vehicle. He fell beneath the Interstate 5 overpass below the bridge. >> STOP RIGHT THERE. STOP. STOP. ON THE GROUND. >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> OKAY, I understand we're getting fire here. Okay, get on the ground. >> I'm on the ground. I have no good luck. >> Officers and arriving units found the semi-truck driver, 57-year-old Bogdan Vetrov, beneath the overpass face down with the windshield on top of him and fuel leaking nearby. Officers moved him on a carrier, began CPR, and continued until fire and EMS arrived. Vetrov was transported but did not survive. Both juvenile suspects were taken into custody at the scene. Officers also recovered a firearm from the stolen Kia. >> Who's where? >> Underneath the stance, so they're underneath. So, if somebody goes down and comes back, he's tucked underneath here. >> Okay. No. >> Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> Put your hands behind your back. I'm with you, Cole. We've got one in the passenger. I'm just holding cover while he cuffs him up. >> What's that? >> I'm just holding cover while he cuffs him up. >> We've got officers heading down I-5 to get that driver. >> How many people were in the car? Okay. >> The 15-year-old driver was charged with vehicular homicide and unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle and received a juvenile sentence of up to 9 months along with nearly 50, $0 in restitution. The 16-year-old passenger was charged with taking a motor vehicle without permission. Vetrov was a Ukrainian immigrant and a father of seven. His family later filed a $26 million wrongful death claim against the city of Lakewood, arguing the pursuit should never have been authorized under Washington law. A stolen car, a jammed gun at a 7-Eleven, and a bridge at the wrong hour. Bogdan Vetrov had nothing to do with any of it. On September 22nd, 2023, at approximately 9:05 p.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, were called to the 2200 block of South Shelby Street following an armed robbery at a Dollar General. >> Two people, guys, and he's doing something. That front seat passenger is doing something. He's reaching for a What are you doing? >> He's trying to get THE DOOR OUT. >> SWAT OFFICERS LOCATED THE VEHICLE IN THE 600 block of South Missouri Street and deployed a grappler device to prevent escape. As the device immobilized the vehicle, Williams pointed a gun out of the passenger window and fired multiple shots at the officers' vehicles. Three officers returned fire at Williams and Morris. Both were struck and transported to hospital in critical condition. Williams later passed away at the hospital. As officers approached Morris, she told them she was pregnant. The stolen firearm Williams used was later recovered AT THE SCENE. >> GET ON THE [ __ ] GROUND! RIGHT NOW! GIVE ME YOUR HANDS! >> MORRIS WAS LATER charged with armed robbery for her alleged role in the incident. The firearm Williams used to open fire on officers had been reported stolen in 2022. Detectives have been tracking Williams across a string of robberies. [music] The grappler stopped the car. Williams made the choice about what happened next. >> MA'AM, GIVE ME YOUR HANDS! GIVE ME YOUR HANDS! >> DALTON, I got him covered. Please place him in handcuffs. >> On the ground! >> Taser, taser, taser! >> On October 14th, 2020, Naugatuck police officers in Naugatuck, Connecticut, USA, responded to a shoplifting call at Stop & Shop after 33-year-old Jerrell Day of Waterbury attempted to steal over $200 worth of beer. The incident was upgraded to a robbery after an altercation occurred between Day and store staff. >> Shut it off! Shut the [ __ ] thing off! OR DIE! SHUT IT OFF! >> DETECTIVE WILLIAMS APPROACHED THE SUSPECT'S car and ordered both occupants out. The car took off striking a police cruiser while fleeing. Officer Kehaus pursued and found the vehicle crashed into a pole a short distance away. Day fled on foot and Officer Kehaus chased him down before deploying a stun gun. >> Crash, crash, crash on the online. Fail, fail. You better [ __ ] stop! You better [ __ ] stop! On the ground! On the ground! >> [ __ ] I'm sorry. >> Taser, taser, taser, one down. On your stomach! ON YOUR [ __ ] STOMACH NOW! >> Officer Kehaus deployed the stun gun causing Day to fall. When Day did not comply with orders to roll onto his stomach, Kehaus deployed the stun gun two additional times. Supervisors later reviewed the footage and referred the matter to the office of the State's Attorney which directed Connecticut State Police to investigate whether criminal charges were warranted against the officer. >> Sorry! PUT YOUR [ __ ] HANDS YOU'RE GETTING ANOTHER RIDE. You're getting another Taser, put your hands behind your back. >> I got you. I'm really sorry. You know what happened. >> Put your All right, you're getting another [ __ ] ride. >> please. >> Put your idiot body ON YOUR [ __ ] BACK NOW! >> ON October 30th, [music] 2023, Officer Kehaus surrendered on an arrest warrant and was charged with intentional cruelty to persons and third-degree assault. He was released on a $50,000 bond. Day was charged with attempted second-degree assault, third-degree robbery, assault on police, illegal possession of a weapon in a vehicle, second-degree larceny, reckless driving, operating under suspension, and evading responsibility and was held on a $200,000 bond. The police cruiser Day struck while fleeing sustained damage. Two people left that parking lot in handcuffs. One a robbery suspect, the other the officer who caught him. >> All right, stand up. >> I got you, sir. >> Let's get up. Use your legs. >> I'm trying. >> Try hard. >> Take him three times. Get him. >> Shut up. >> On a Tuesday afternoon, NYPD officers from the 32nd Precinct in New York City, New York, USA were attempting to take 22-year-old Elvin James into custody. James was wanted in connection with an attempted murder and was carrying an illegal loaded semi-automatic Polymer 80 ghost gun in his waistband when officers moved in. A struggle ensued and a crowd gathered around the officers. During the arrest, 19-year-old Tamani Crum, an acquaintance of James, began interfering and struck a detect- The detective fended off the interference and struck Crum with an open hand. Two additional females were also involved in interfering with the officers during the incident. James was taken into custody along with the ghost gun. Crum remained conscious and was transported to a nearby hospital at her request. The detective's use of force was placed under ongoing review by the Internal Affairs Bureau's Force Group. Crum was charged with obstructing governmental administration. The two other females were similarly charged with interfering with police. James was taken off the street with a loaded ghost gun that should never have been there in the first place. The crowd that gathered around the officers during the arrest only complicated a situation that was already serious enough on its own. >> [screaming] >> On June 17th, 2022, investigators in Walton County, Florida, USA developed 35-year-old Dallas Francis as a suspect in an armed robbery of a Circle K in Miramar Beach captured on surveillance the day before. When officers attempted a traffic stop to question him near Sue Lane in northern Walton County, the vehicle fled at high speed. During the more than 50-mi high-speed pursuit, Francis fired multiple shots at pursuing deputies and troopers while throwing large amounts of cash from the vehicle. The chase stretched across county lines involving Walton and Okaloosa County deputies and Florida Highway Patrol troopers before Francis forced the confrontation himself. Near the 53-mi marker of Interstate 10, Francis exited the vehicle from the passenger side and opened fire on deputies and troopers. Officers returned fire and Francis was struck. He and passenger Mary Yard 30 were taken into custody and transported to Okaloosa County Jail. >> Francis was sentenced to 50 years in the Florida Department of Corrections with a 20-year minimum mandatory sentence for attempted second-degree murder of a law enforcement officer with a firearm, two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, grand theft, and fleeing and eluding. He robbed the convenience store, led a 50-mile chase while shooting at officers and throwing cash out the window, then stepped out of the car to keep shooting. 50 years is what the courts decided that was worth.
