Little after 4:00 here on Saturday. One week after we had a real [ __ ] show down here. And I think the word got out. One of the great things we're seeing is there's a lot of families out on the beach and that's the way spring break should be. You know, how much you try to put the word out, there's always one or two idiots that go along the way. We just arrested a juvenile for smoking weed and drinking on the beach in possession of a stolen firearm. It doesn't matter what you do. You got to get the word out and obviously as we're going around we have some of our typical local ne'er-do-wells camped out along the seawall there passing their fifth around and they're being taken into custody as well. But all in all we think the message is out. We are far from over with this. I know there's meetings with the state attorney's office next week to see if we can charge last week's promoter with felonies. And we are also working with a local attorney and our business community to start filing lawsuits for what they lost. The flash mobs that went into stores and cleaned them out, the canceled reservations, all of those things. We we're not going to be held economically hostage by a bunch of scumbags. There's no other way to run this community. So we're we're going to be innovative and creative. We think it's important to protect this community and again, this is what it's about. Families on the beach, couples on the beach, no mayhem, no cloud of weed, no firearms, nobody shooting, no beat downs. This is what it should be like. Oh, and one last thing. I want to thank the Daytona Beach Police Department, my deputies and the Florida Highway Patrol for being out here today to make sure that there was a strong, firm, but yet fair way of doing business.
