I want to take this opportunity to point out some outstanding police work that is occurring in volusia county here by our deputies every day I read captain's reports or hear things on the radio and it doesn't cease to amaze me of the talent the ability the caring ability that we have and most of all our ability to arrest the bad guy deputy James James green rolls upon a suspicious vehicle discovers the male in the vehicle is overdosing on heroin and administers two doses of narcan to save his life deputy michael van zout responds to a medical haul pine arrival he discovers a male and distress and overdosing and administers two doses of narcan both deputies save the lives of these individuals recently we saw where we're making headlines once again for an incident where a complete scumbag with a total disregard for law enforcement and even his own son is in a stolen car with this four year old and a 15 year old runaway when deputies do a great job and usually the tag reader stop the car box him in this guy decides he's going to Ramis and deputies follow the policy they didn't use deadly force they didn't fire at a car they then use their cool-headed tactical paws and then with the help of Sergeant Cochran and all the other deputies they were able to stop stick the car and take this guy into custody and what did we discover on the front seat of that car was a four year old deputies had no idea that that four year old was in the car by using that tactical pause and following our policy we didn't indiscriminately fire into the car and endanger the life of the four year old instead we saved the life of the four year old it took a scumbag father to jail and then we saw sergeant Lee Cates along with that deputy Steven cram nur and Bradley Shield behind the Brat open and scrub your name but you guys are serving paperwork when a mail comes charging if you were to flashlight screaming shoot me shoot me shoot me and you guys read that situation deploys your taser and took them to jail these are incidents that I want to highlight because they happen every single day you don't read about them in the news journal you don't see them on the evening news but yet our deputies are out there day in damn doing what our policy says preserving the sanctity of human life making sure that we all go home safely and we give that bad guy an opportunity to go to jail safely I can't tell you how proud I am you know every time I turn around the the level of service that we provide this community is outstanding and I wish there was a way that I could recognize each and every one of you every single day for what you do we're trying our best you know I just go to bed every night and pray for your safety for this office and for this great country that we live in so take care and stay safe I got your back god bless you
