Hey adrenaline junkies, welcome to Police Chase. Today we're kicking off a brand new series when people messed with the wrong cops where every dumb move instantly triggers justice mode. All right, LET'S DIVE IN. >> GOT TO BE RIGHT HERE. >> WHO ARE THOSE PEOPLE? [screaming] >> ON June 23rd, 2024 at approximately 5:55 p.m. 5:00 p.m. in Los Angeles, California, USA, Los Angeles police officers responded to a report of a man allegedly carrying a knife near Adams Boulevard and St. James Place. After arriving, officers quickly realized the situation required immediate backup as additional units rushed toward the scene with emergency lights and sirens activated. Every second mattered. What seemed like a routine response was about to become something far more challenging. While responding through the intersection of Adams Boulevard and Gramercy Place, one patrol vehicle was involved in a serious traffic collision with a Toyota Corolla. In just a brief moment, the focus shifted from reaching the original call to handling another critical emergency. >> You good, man? >> Uh I'm sitting start with one. >> You're good. >> Paramedics quickly arrived and transported the Corolla's driver, Regino Oraya Jr., to a nearby hospital with severe injuries, where doctors provided intensive treatment. The officers involved also sustained minor injuries, received medical care, and were later released. Incidents like this remind us that even when officers are racing to protect the public, unexpected dangers can appear without warning, changing many lives in an instant. >> [ __ ] Partner, you need some help. Hey, hey, PUT YOUR HANDS >> [screaming] >> ON MARCH 19, 2024, AT 9:18 p.m. in Paramount, California, USA, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lakewood Station responded to a welfare call at a residence on Indiana Avenue. As the patrol vehicles moved into position on Artesia Boulevard in Long Beach, Acosta [music] suddenly shifted into reverse and accelerated backward, colliding with the front of a patrol vehicle. The powerful impact left both vehicles unable to continue. >> Hey, put your [ __ ] hands up. Hey, [ __ ] >> Yeah, the car is seized. Put your hands up. >> Put your hands up. Put your HANDS UP. HEY, PUT YOUR HANDS UP. >> HEY, HE'S GOT A KNIFE PUT HAND. >> HEY, HEY, DROP THE KNIFE! DROP THE KNIFE! >> MOMENTS LATER, DEPUTIES SAW HIM STEP OUT holding a knife. Despite repeated commands to drop the weapon, [music] he continued moving toward the deputies, forcing them to react within seconds. >> Hey, you guys good? >> Drop the knife! >> Hey, drop the knife! HEY, DROP THE KNIFE! HEY! Drop the knife, bro! >> Deputies immediately provided emergency medical assistance while waiting for paramedics to arrive. A knife with a blade measuring approximately 3 in was later recovered at the scene. One deputy received treatment for injuries sustained during the collision, while no other members of the public were reported injured. >> Drop the knife! >> HEY, DROP THE KNIFE! HEY, DROP THE KNIFE! HEY! Drop the knife, BRO! DROP THE KNIFE! >> ON JULY 11TH, 2026 at 8:13 a.m. in Austin, Texas, USA, Austin police officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting that a man riding an electric scooter was allegedly threatening runners with a handgun near West 5th Street and North Lamar Boulevard. At approximately 11:07 a.m., officers located a man matching the description near the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail. When they ordered him to stop, he abandoned the scooter and ran. During the brief foot pursuit, officers observed what appeared to be a handgun and repeatedly instructed him to drop it. >> Gun! Gun! Gun! >> According to investigators, the man did not comply, and as officers closed the distance, he turned while still holding the firearm, forcing an immediate response. >> Take cover! Take cover! >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. >> Hey, y'all hurt? >> No. >> Oh, [ __ ] >> Let me see your hands. >> All right. >> All right, let's >> Officers quickly secured the scene and immediately began providing emergency medical assistance until paramedics arrived. The individual was later identified as 29-year-old Emmanuel Diaz. No officers or members of the public were reported injured during the incident. Looking back, it's hard not to wonder how differently the day might have unfolded if lawful commands had been followed from the beginning. Sometimes, a single decision made in just a few seconds can change the course of many lives. >> Do not move. >> I got her. I got >> Daddy's right here. >> Daddy, right here. >> Daddy, don't go. >> Who Who are those people? >> On July 30th, 2023, in Shorewood, Wisconsin, USA, what began as a reported retail theft at a Metro Market quickly developed into a dangerous police incident. Surveillance cameras captured a woman leaving the store with a shopping cart full of unpaid merchandise before running toward a waiting getaway car. During the escape, a store employee was pushed against a wall while trying to stop her. Responding officers soon spotted the suspect vehicle and immediately began following it. As the pursuit continued along Capital Drive, the getaway car collided with a pickup truck, forcing it to stop. >> Still going westbound on Capital, just struck a struck a truck. Still going westbound on Capital. Vehicle's disabled. Set up for A HIGH-RISK STOP. >> TURN OFF THE CAR. >> TURN IT OFF THE CAR. >> 924 TO SHOREWOOD SQUAD, someone get westbound to this vehicle. It's probably going to take off again. >> I'll move up. I'll move up. >> Officers quickly surrounded the vehicle, but instead of cooperating, the driver, later identified as John, refused repeated commands to turn off the engine and step outside. The tension grew even higher when officers learned that a 4-year-old child was sitting inside the vehicle. >> Put your daughter down in the car. Put I you will not get shot. Listen to us. Listen to us. Sir, listen to me. Put Just listen to Okay, I get you're scared. I get you're scared. Please. Lay Lay down on the ground. That's fine. Lay down on the ground. >> As officers carefully negotiated, the situation took an emotional turn. According to investigators, John held his young daughter close, making it difficult for officers to safely approach. Officers remained calm, speaking to him with patience while encouraging him to think about his child's safety. After several tense minutes, he finally agreed to let the little girl go first, allowing officers to bring her to safety before peacefully taking both suspects into custody. >> So, let her down. So, let her down. >> Can she at least sit next to me? >> No, no, no. Just let her down, John. >> John. >> I'm If I let her go, she's going to fall. Can you Please, if I let her go, she's going >> I got it. I got it. I got it. I got it. >> Put your hands behind your back. Daddy's right here. >> Lay down, go. >> Who Who are those people? >> I don't know. >> She's telling me to calm down or something. >> What's the matter? >> [screaming] >> I'M GOING TO WORK. >> WHERE IS DADDY? >> OH, MY GOD. >> CAN YOU AT LEAST BRING HER HERE? >> WELL, I'LL HAVE HER talk to you here in a minute, okay? We still got to talk to her, too. She's not listening to us, all right? >> The child was safely reunited with her mother while both suspects later faced multiple criminal charges related to the incident. The female suspect admitted responsibility for the retail theft and obstructing an officer, while John accepted responsibility for several felony offenses, including fleeing from law enforcement and reckless conduct during the pursuit. Looking back, the stolen merchandise was worth far less than the emotional cost left behind. Every decision made that day could have changed a young child's future forever, reminding us that protecting those we love should always come before trying to escape the consequences of our actions. >> All right, get mom's info here. >> WHERE'S MY DAUGHTER? WHERE'S MY DAUGHTER? >> YOU NEED JUST GOING YOU OUT. Right here. Do you a Right in the back there. I'll let you out. Come here. >> It's okay. >> On April 30th, 2024, at approximately 5:41 p.m. in North Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a weapon at a residence on West Street. The victims told officers that a man they knew, later identified as Terrea Young Truitt, had stayed overnight at their home before leaving early that morning. Not long afterward, they realized several personal belongings had disappeared. Attempts to contact him by phone and message went unanswered. Later that afternoon, as the victims returned home, a red passenger car suddenly stopped in front of them. Young Truitt stepped out, accompanied by another man, later identified as Braden Crum. According to investigators, both men were carrying firearms. A heated argument quickly unfolded near the driveway. Investigators say Young Truitt pointed the firearm toward one of the victims and then struck her once with it during the confrontation. Just as emotions reached their highest point, the sound of approaching police sirens echoed through the neighborhood. Realizing officers were arriving, both men rushed back into the vehicle and attempted to drive away, leading officers into a pursuit. Officers later recovered a firearm believed to be connected to the incident, and both suspects were taken into custody as the investigation continued. The victims documented their injuries and chose to pursue legal action. Looking back, what started with a night of trust ended in fear, damaged relationships, and serious legal consequences. It's a reminder that when conflicts are answered with intimidation instead of reason, everyone involved can pay a far greater price than they ever expected. On May 11th, 2025 in West Memphis, Arkansas, USA, Arkansas State Police received a bolo for a blue Hyundai Elantra believed to be connected to a reported robbery. While monitoring Interstate 55 near the Tennessee state line, troopers spotted a vehicle matching the description and moved in to verify the license plate. >> We tried to pit. They're in Tennessee now. What do you advise? >> Even before emergency lights were activated, the Elantra began accelerating well beyond the speed limit. Once officers confirmed the license plate, they initiated a traffic stop, but the The continued across the bridge toward Tennessee, weaving through traffic at speeds approaching 100 miles per hour. During the pursuit, officers also noticed unusual movement from a passenger in the backseat, raising concerns that the situation could become even more unpredictable. After receiving authorization, troopers carried out a second tactical vehicle intervention, successfully bringing the Elantra under control near the 9-mile marker in Memphis. The vehicle spun into the median before coming to a stop. One passenger immediately ran from the scene, while the driver stayed with the vehicle and complied with officers' commands. The fleeing passenger was later located inside an abandoned house nearby and was taken into custody without further incident. Investigators also recovered an airsoft gun believed to be connected to the case. The driver, identified as Joe N. Carter, told investigators that he had continued driving because he felt threatened by one of the passengers. Both individuals were later transferred to local authorities as the investigation continued. Looking back, this pursuit crossed state lines in only a matter of minutes, yet it also showed how quickly fear, poor decisions, and reckless driving can place countless innocent people at risk. Sometimes, choosing to stop and cooperate is the decision that protects everyone on the road. >> Okay. >> On June 4th, 2025, at approximately 5:50 p.m., just minutes later, officers located the pickup and attempted to conduct a traffic stop near 5th Street. Despite the flashing emergency lights and sirens, the driver continued forward without slowing down. The pickup passed several safe places to stop and gradually increased its speed as traffic became lighter. With rainy weather and a more populated area just ahead, officers knew every extra mile could increase the risk for innocent drivers. >> Show me your hands! SHOW ME YOUR [ __ ] HANDS! SHOW ME YOUR [ __ ] HANDS! >> To prevent the pursuit from becoming even more dangerous, officers carried out a tactical vehicle intervention just south of the Highway 225 intersection. The maneuver caused the pickup to rotate into a grassy shoulder, where the driver, later identified as Jeremiah Webb, jumped out and ran toward a nearby wooded area. Trooper Corey Earls immediately pursued him on foot, repeatedly ordering him to stop. Moments later, Webb gave up and was safely taken into custody without further resistance. >> What the [ __ ] was that? >> I don't know. Yeah, maybe that's my truck. That's my truck. >> I didn't I didn't ding it up too bad, man. Ignorant ass [ __ ] >> told you to get up? >> Boy, you thought you was slick, didn't you, man? >> Hey, you got someone to pick this up, buddy? >> Yeah, I'll get somebody. >> Okay. >> They told me to do it. >> Yeah, I'm going to find out who you're affiliated with, you punk little [ __ ] >> They told me to do it. >> Hey, can you get the pickup? >> get up. >> The pickup was later returned to its rightful owner, bringing the incident to a safe conclusion. Looking back, the entire pursuit lasted only a few minutes, yet it carried the potential to affect many lives. A single decision to ignore lawful commands turned an already difficult situation into a dangerous one. Fortunately, thanks to a measured response from officers, the vehicle was recovered, no bystanders were harmed, and the incident ended without further escalation. On April 7th, 2021, at approximately 9:00 p.m. in New Mexico, USA, state police responded to a roadside call involving a group of teenagers suspected of underage drinking near a residential neighborhood. What appeared to be a routine investigation would soon become a lesson in how attitude can shape the outcome of an encounter. >> Well, we're 18. >> So, my mom can drive it, and I can drive her car. Is that cool? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Actually, no, cuz you were in the car. Actually, none of you guys can drive. >> None of us? >> Cuz there's alcohol in the car. That's why. >> even if I have a license? >> are just going to have to leave the car >> No, no, no, no, no. Let's let's try to get somebody. Let's try to get somebody to come get the car. >> Yeah, my mom's coming with her car. >> Officers contacted the group and located alcoholic beverages in their possession. Most of the teenagers remained cooperative and followed instructions. However, one 18-year-old woman reacted differently. According to body cam footage, she repeatedly challenged the officers, raised her voice, and refused to cooperate, drawing increasing attention from people nearby. >> Come Come here. >> No, sir. >> Come here. >> I'm just Sir, I'm just asking you >> Tired of you, okay? You argue too much, you're going to get in my car. Yes, yes, yes. >> No, sir. I'm just asking you a question. >> Sit down in the back. >> Sir, I'm just asking you a question. >> Sit down in the back. >> No, I'm just asking you a question. >> Despite repeated efforts to calm the situation, the verbal confrontation continued. Officers remained patient, giving multiple opportunities for the young woman to comply. As the situation showed no signs of improving, officers ultimately placed her into custody in accordance with procedure. What could have been resolved with a brief conversation gradually became far more complicated because of a series of emotional decisions made in the moment. >> Stand up. >> Sir, please. >> Stand up. >> Please, sir. I'm going to be out of here, sir. Please. >> I should have put you in cuffs the first time. Do I need to tie you? >> Please, sir. Just >> Why are you hitting yourself? If you hit my car, if I hear one bang, I'm going to add extra charges. You see, you know? I'm going to add extra charges, okay? The young woman was later charged with underage possession of alcohol, while the incident became another reminder that respectful communication often leads to better outcomes for everyone involved. Looking back, the officers never raised their voices beyond what was necessary, choosing patience over confrontation. Sometimes, the biggest difference between a warning and a much more serious consequence begins with something as simple as the willingness to listen. >> All right. >> Good. >> Right here. >> You're going to take coconut to the kitchen. >> On April 25th, 2021, Georgia State Patrol troopers in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, located a stolen Isuzu NPR landscape truck traveling southbound on Interstate 75 and 85 near Fulton Street. When a traffic stop was attempted, the driver fled. The suspect drove recklessly through metro Atlanta, weaving between lanes and nearly striking multiple vehicles as troopers continued pursuit onto Interstate 75. The truck pushed through heavy traffic as troopers worked to find a safe window to end the chase. >> Near Central Avenue, a precision immobilization technique was executed. The truck rotated, left the roadway, struck a barrier wall, and overturned. The driver, Tyrell Williamson, was taken into custody without further incident and transported to Grady Hospital for medical clearance before being booked into Fulton County Jail. >> [screaming] [screaming] >> The stolen Isuzu NPR sustained significant damage from the barrier impact and rollover. A stolen landscape truck on an interstate ended with a barrier wall, a rollover, and a driver who needed a hospital visit before he could be booked. On February 3rd, 2024, at approximately 9:19 p.m., a Virginia State Police Trooper on Interstate 66 in Virginia, USA, received an automated license plate reader alert for a stolen 2016 blue Hyundai Elantra out of Prince George's County, Maryland. He located the vehicle and waited for backup before initiating a stop. The Hyundai refused to yield and fled. >> Found him that way. I'm going up on 66. Traffic pursuit going that way westbound 66. >> Going that way westbound 66. >> I'm calling for a supervisor on the radio. I'm going to 311 on crossing to get four vehicles in a rolling roadblock if traffic allows it. 311 on the right. Yeah, traffic allows it, that's fine. >> [music] >> All right, we're about to slow down. Slow down. Slow down. >> Officers attempted three-vehicle containment maneuvers across the pursuit. During all three attempts, the Hyundai deliberately rammed Trooper King, striking him four times in total before nearly hitting a civilian vehicle. The pursuit reached 100 mph through moderate to heavy traffic. Trooper Corvin, PIT certified, took over as lead vehicle on Interstate 66 eastbound. >> I'm going to 311. >> All right, he just struck 1254 again. 326 just crossed over 66. Just made contact again with 1254. That's four times now almost struck my vehicle. >> After the Nutley Street exit, Trooper Corvin executed a precision immobilization technique that sent the Hyundai into the express lane where it struck the Jersey wall and rolled back into the main lane. The driver, Shestari Ladonja Gamble, was confirmed wanted. The Hyundai was totaled, its steering column ripped out, and started with a USB cord. >> I cleared that exit. They PIT'd him. He's uh All right, he's in the main lane. He's uh >> Get the [ __ ] out! GET THE [ __ ] OUT! OUT! PUT YOUR [ __ ] HANDS UP! >> TROOPER KING'S patrol vehicle sustained damage from four deliberate collisions. Gamble was charged with felony eluding, grand larceny auto theft, driving without a license, reckless driving, a Fairfax felony failure to appear warrant, three counts of felony hit-and-run, four counts of assault on law enforcement, a misdemeanor hit-and-run, and destruction of state property. She told fire and rescue she was 4 months pregnant. Four rams, a Jersey wall, and a steering column started with a USB cord. The plate reader found the car. Everything after that was Gamble's choice. >> Get her up. >> Get on the ground. >> On October 13th, 2022, at approximately 1:10 a.m., Trooper Joseph Killian in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, observed a black sport bike with no license plate on Asher Avenue. He activated lights and sirens and notified dispatch that a pursuit was underway. The rider, later identified as Gaylor, immediately accelerated to approximately 100 mph. Gaylor ran multiple red lights and continued at high speed through several intersections before abandoning the motorcycle and fleeing on foot. Trooper Duncan pursued and deployed a taser. The first deployment had no effect. Duncan deployed the taser a second time. >> [music] >> And 4:30 coming up to South Interchange. That's probably All right, now coming up on Allen Street. He don't quit. He grabbed out. >> The second taser deployment ignited Gaylor's clothing and he became engulfed in flames. Trooper Duncan ran to his patrol vehicle to retrieve a fire extinguisher and put out the fire. Once the flames were out, Gaylor was placed in handcuffs and a North Little Rock officer cut his melted jacket from him. EMS transported him to UAMS due to the severity of his burns. >> Air 4 On the ground. >> Shots fired. Put your hands behind your back. >> Gaylor was charged with felony fleeing in a vehicle, fleeing on foot, failure to register a vehicle, no liability insurance, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, failure to stop at a red light and driving without tags. A sport bike with no plate, no insurance and no license ridden at 100 mph through red lights at 1:00 in the morning. The taser that stopped him was not the ending anyone expected. >> DROP IT. >> ON OCTOBER 25TH, 2024 at approximately 10:07 a.m., Carmel Police Department officers in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, USA received calls about 27-year-old James Marshall moving through the neighborhood in tactical gear carrying pepper spray, a knife, a 3-ft crowbar, and what appeared to be a rifle. Police Chief Paul Tomasi, Sergeant Gerald Maldonado, and Officer Renee Guevara staged outside his residence and spotted him on the sidewalk. >> Come out, police. You're Come out, police. You're under arrest. >> Less lethal fired. You're under arrest. >> He's breaking into a He's He's breaking into the shed. >> Get on the ground. Get on the >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> [screaming] >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> NOW. >> SERGEANT MALDONADO fired beanbag rounds to subdue Marshall as he moved toward the sidewalk. The rounds had no effect. Officers chased him into his backyard where he continued to ignore commands despite being hit with additional beanbag rounds. Marshall then charged at Sergeant Maldonado with the crowbar raised. >> You're the [ __ ] >> DROP IT. >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> ON THE GROUND. >> NOW. GET ON THE GROUND. >> ON THE GROUND. >> GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. >> OFFICER Guevara fired five shots from his service pistol [music] to protect Sergeant Maldonado. Marshall was mortally wounded but continued advancing. Further beanbag rounds and a taser proved ineffective. 40 seconds after the shots were fired, Officer Guevara tackled Marshall and officers placed him in handcuffs. It was later discovered Marshall was wearing ballistic body armor that stopped at least one bullet. >> On the ground. >> You're going TO GET SHOT. >> DROP IT. >> DROP IT. >> DROP IT. >> DROP IT. >> DROP IT. >> NO, WE DON'T WANT to kill you today. >> They still want to kill >> No, we don't want to kill you. >> ON THE GROUND. >> DROP IT. >> ON THE GROUND. >> MARSHALL WAS TRANSPORTED TO HOSPITAL. A BB rifle was recovered at the scene. He had called a family member before the incident. He had armed himself, put on body armor, and walked into his own neighborhood. Five shots, a ballistic vest, and 40 seconds of continued resistance after being hit. The gear he wore tells its own story about what he expected that morning. >> Put it down. PUT IT DOWN. >> ON FEBRUARY 5TH, 2026, around 7:30 p.m., a Coolidge police officer in Coolidge, Arizona, USA, stopped to check on a vehicle parked along Palo Verde Avenue. He spoke with a woman about damage to her car, including a shattered windshield. The conversation was calm. Then her estranged husband, 54-year-old Francisco Canales Aguilar, arrived. Surveillance footage later showed he had been carrying a machete when he left his nearby home and had called a family member to say goodbye before driving to the location. >> Sir, put it down. PUT IT DOWN. PUT IT DOWN. >> [screaming] >> AGUILAR EXITED HIS VEHICLE holding the machete and walked directly toward the officer and the woman. The officer issued repeated commands to drop the weapon. [music] Aguilar did not stop. The officer fired his weapon. Aguilar was pronounced at the scene. The investigation was turned over to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office. >> 998 998 998 >> Where's the knife at, bro? Where's the knife at? Right there? >> He had called ahead to say goodbye. He had picked up the machete [music] before leaving the house. Every step he took that evening pointed in one direction. The officer standing between him and the woman at that roadside had no way of knowing any of that until it was already in front of him. >> On October 2nd, 2025, at approximately 5:55 p.m., IMPD detectives in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, were executing a felony warrant investigation in the 900 block of North Grant Avenue. They surrounded a detached garage where 36-year-old Cartineal McBride was believed to be hiding. McBride had active warrants for unlawful possession of a firearm as a serious violent felon, unlawful possession as a domestic batterer, theft, robbery, and driving while suspended. >> Keep your hands up. Walk towards us. Yeah, she did. Walk towards us through the fence right here. Walk towards us Walk towards us through the fence. I understand that. Walk towards us through the through the fence. There's police officers on both sides of that garage. >> McBride exited with hands raised and initially complied. Detective Vert explained the reason for his detention. When told to turn around, McBride said, "I'm not doing none of that." and began reaching. Detective Hunter deployed a Taser. McBride ran and fell. He then rolled away from detectives and began reaching again. >> Towards me. >> No, what's going on, man? What's going on? Why? What did I do? >> Cartineal, you have warrants, okay? That's what this is about. Turn around. >> Man, I'm not doing none of that, bro. >> You're about to get Tased. >> Detective Jones discharged his service weapon. Detectives Vert and Hunter also discharged their weapons during the second reaching movement. Additional officers arrived with a ballistic shield and safely approached McBride. He was placed into custody and provided medical aid before being transported to Eskenazi Hospital IN CRITICAL CONDITION. >> KEEP YOUR HANDS WHERE SEE THEM OR YOU'RE GOING TO GET SHOT. >> DOWN. DOWN. >> MCBRIDE CAME OUT WITH HIS HANDS UP, THEN CHOSE NOT to comply the moment he was asked to turn around. He had warrants for weapons offenses before detectives even arrived at that garage. The hands he raised on the way out were not the same hands he used once the commands continued. >> GET OUT OF THE CAR. >> On January 5th, 2025 at approximately 3:15 p.m., Rock Island Police Department Officer Brett Taylor in Rock Island, Illinois, USA spotted a maroon 2013 Ford Fusion with heavy tint turn into an alley. The plates returned weapons cautions, a fled vehicle report, and an active warrant for 21-year-old Jacarda Jackson. Taylor located the vehicle parked at a vacant home and initiated a traffic stop. Jackson fled on foot before returning to the vehicle while it was still running. >> Hey. Come here. Come here. Come here now. >> 215. I got one running. >> Stop him. SHOW ME YOUR SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. STOP. GET OUT OF THE CAR. >> OFFICER TAYLOR broke the driver's window with his baton and attempted to pull Jackson out. A passenger pushed the gear into park, but Jackson pulled it back into drive. Jackson drove forward, then reversed, then forward again with Taylor hanging onto the door. The car struck a street sign before spinning to a stop at the bottom of the hill. The vehicle carried six occupants, including a 3-year-old and a 6-year-old in the back seat without child restraints. >> Park. Oh shoot. >> Put it in park. >> Put it >> in park. >> Shoot you. >> PUT IT IN PARK. Put it IN PARK. >> I'LL SHOOT YOU. >> PUT IT IN PARK. >> I'LL SHOOT YOU. >> STOP. STOP. >> WHEN THE CAR HIT THE SIGN AND TAYLOR FELL BACK, he discharged his weapon five times, striking Jackson in the glute and lower torso. Taylor then moved Jackson from the vehicle and administered CPR along with another officer who arrived to assist. Jackson did not survive his injuries. Taylor was treated at a nearby hospital and released the same evening. >> 215, shots fired. >> No weapons were found on Jackson or in the vehicle. Two children sat in the backseat without restraints throughout the entire incident. An active warrant, a running car, and a driver willing to drag an officer down a hill. The two youngest people in that vehicle had no say in any of what happened around them. On August 9th, Michigan State Police in Detroit, Michigan, USA, were conducting an unrelated traffic stop when they witnessed a shooting take place at a nearby park. The two suspects fled the scene in a white Ford Escape. >> Go. Follow that car. We're behind the car now. That's priority. Gun. Across the street. Two suspects. >> Officers initiated a high-speed pursuit of the Ford Escape through Detroit's west side streets. The pursuit continued at speeds around 70 to 80 mph as troopers tracked the vehicle through multiple roads and monitored tire damage while searching for a safe position to end the chase. >> [music] >> Coming up to Joy Road. >> All right, looks like we are going to be through Livernois. >> Near Livernois Howel Street, officers executed a precision immobilization technique bringing the Ford Escape to a stop. Both suspects exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended by responding officers shortly after. A firearm was recovered from the vehicle during the post-pursuit search. Officers witnessed the shooting themselves at the start of the incident which meant the pursuit began with a direct eyewitness account already in hand. They saw it happen and they followed. >> From high-speed pursuits to moments where decisions go too far, these real stories remind us that every action carries consequences.
