fua Sheriff Mike Chitwood here on May 16th of this year at 10:15 p.m. my deputies conducted a car stop for a traffic violation off a Provence Boulevard the driver acted like a complete jackass and was subsequently arrested for refusing to provide his driver's license and cooperate with deputies upon getting out of jail he then came to our substation in Deltona and filled out a sworn affidavit alleging he was punched kicked choked physically abused and cursed at the body camera footage you're going to see absolutely refutes everything that he put into that affidavit maligning my deputies as a result he was arrested charged with a felony and is being held on $50,000 Bond hello Shar office you got your driver's license on you okay I pulled you over because your tail lights out the one on your left your left tail light it's completely out all right I need your D license and your registration because I'm asking you for this a traffic stop yeah I'm not giving you a verbal warning I'm telling you all right so this guy not wanting to identify he's not going to step out of the vehicle I can tell you that right now he's recording uh his tail lights on B and he's going to be recording you he's one of those I'm car with's office go and turn that down do you have your license registration and insurance for the vehicle you the supervisor do you have the license and insurance for the V are you the supervisor go ahead and have are you the supervisor are you failing to identify yourself on a legal traffic stop I asked for a supervisor another is being no I a supervis you're refusing me a supervisor refusing to identify refusing and you're refusing over a freaking tail light out and you refusing to supervis you send you send another one to waste money listen it's a legal traffic stop all right so I pulled him over has his tail lights out and the second that I walked up he starts arguing he's not wanting to give me his driver's license not his registration he's pulling the whole oh there's no reason you're stopping me did he give you his stuff nope you want to speak to the supervisor who are you I'm the supervisor so do you have your driver's license in registration supervisor with your that help you no no I don't how do I know you're the supervisor show you right there everything okay well I'm the supervisor I'm Sergeant 11 with the Sheriff's Office how can I help call the police station do you have your driver's license and registration call the police station get out of the truck I'm verifying I don't care you're the supervisor I just get out of theu assure your residents when we mess things up and we're wrong we're going to discipline our deputies and in some cases even arrest and fire them that's my pledge to the community on the flip side of that I have to apply that same standard to the community if you want to align my deputies if you want to destroy their character if you want to try to commit unrest in this community by absolutely lying we're going to out you and we're going to arrest you come on one of not do I got a lawyer I arrested why am I being don't resist stop it no I'm not running nowhere what's going on you're War fore arrest for perjury what's pery what is that mean he's making a false statement are you kidding take please perjury for what that's just what the warrant's for you'll have to talk to the courts
