That's my understanding. >> So, >> yeah, that's retail them. >> On the 29th of January, 2024, police were dispatched to a Walmart after reports of a theft surfaced. Surveillance footage showed the women shopping completely normally, but one woman in a gray shirt made the move that changed everything. She secretly slipped a bra into her bag before walking away as if nothing had happened. Moments later, police stopped the women outside, turning the situation into a tense confrontation. >> Police on the ground. Police even uncovered another violation involving the woman in the gray shirt. Yet, she showed no sign of guilt. Philadelphia. >> And you told me I was going to be detained cuz I didn't take anything. >> All right. Well, investigate that, right? >> I don't know if I understand that, but I'm just talking about >> She's a driver as well, isn't she? >> Yes. >> Okay. It just says she's suspended indefinitely. >> What does that mean? >> Oh, she's the driver. That means your license is suspended. >> How to She'll be the driver. >> Make sure she's >> Could be various things. would be insurance, registration, total fees. >> Total fees. >> Yeah. If you haven't been paying your toll be many things. >> Do they give you a ticket for that? >> Yeah. >> And also your license will be taken from you as well. >> Okay. Then how do I get them reinstated? >> DMV. >> You got to figure out whatever the issue >> says. Mhm. So go to the DMV. >> Do you have insurance? >> No, I don't have a car. This is my mom car. If someone else you shot that mean you get arrested for that. >> I mean I don't know. We got all three of you could be arrested. >> The woman's question seemed aimed at taking responsibility for the two others with her. But that became difficult after they were also seen ignoring the theft. At this moment, their family members arrived at the scene, forcing police to explain everything that had happened. Let me let me talk to the young. >> Ma'am, can I This is my car. >> The way it came out was as a retail theft where the three >> Oh. >> stealing stuff from Walmart. >> Uhhuh. This my niece. That's her mom. >> Okay. Um, which one is which? >> That's my daughter and that's my god's daughter and that's my niece. >> So, this is your wife. It's her daughter. >> This is your daughter. Okay. She's how old? 20 right now. 21 21. >> 21. >> This one right here. >> She's 22. >> 22. Okay. And then the other one back here >> is 16. Uhhuh. That's what this young lady told us. And she said she's 17. >> So that's why I was starting to explain. I just wanted to figure out who was who and play. >> So they were here >> came out as a call of retail theft, which is they were stealing stuff from Walmart. >> Okay. >> Walmart confronted. >> Did you want me to talk to you? >> I'm calling her mom. I'm asking me. So [laughter] I don't want you to lose anything in the conversation because it do. So they're coming out. Walmart confronted them at this store over here by the pharmacy. They gave up the merchandise. And when we approached, they all ran and got in the car, >> which then they wound up parking here. I don't know how we got here, >> but I know that um >> they were chased up to here. Yes. And this is >> based on the officer's explanation, the attempt to flee had turned a simple shoplifting case into a felony situation. What made it even more serious was the involvement of a minor, causing the other family members to seemingly push hard to clear her of blame. >> So, she's probably going to go >> to jail. Community service. >> I don't know if they choose community service or whatever, then that's what they choose. I mean, that's on them. >> Just over 21. That's crazy. Even if even if somebody else get you killed, you still go to jail for that. >> For what? >> Even if somebody else get you, you go to jail for that. >> If somebody else was stealing? >> Yeah. Like cuz I didn't have nothing. He talking about she going to go to jail and stuff. We didn't have nothing on us. >> That's someone's probably in there right now. Another officer watching back the video footage cuz they have they have cameras all over it. that much. Is she out on bond for anything? >> No, she never been. >> Yeah. So, it it'll be real minimal. >> What's minimal? $100. >> And I don't know what the bond schedule is right off. But it's >> Why she got to sleep? I don't want my baby to be sleeping. Why she can't get out? >> Uh, well, it has to do with first appearances. So it takes a while to process through >> 279. >> So it can take up what 7 hours just to kind of go through that system if that makes sense. >> Uh but they have the option to release on a bond if that makes sense. But there needs to be something that has to happen and we don't deal with any of that stuff. So that's >> if they get a merchandise, why did y'all even go after them? >> Well, it's still affect. >> You understand what I'm saying? So I still went through with the act of theft. Shortly after, officers held a discussion to determine what would happen to the young girl. And this was the decision they made. >> This basically summarizes that your child has committed a delinquent act, which is in parenthesis a crime. >> Um, if they were adults, they would go to jail, but because they're not adults, we're instead of taking them to the juvenile assessment center because it's such a trivial crime >> to Jack. >> Exactly. >> Yeah. >> Um, our policy states that we're issuing them this. However, this is also your guys's choice as parents. Um, you can accept this. Basically, it means within seven days, you got to call the juvenile court system [laughter] and see what's the plan. You service, write a letter, I don't know. They make the rules over here. Again, though, that's your guys' decision. And as well, they have to sign and agree with that too, saying that they're going to do that. Whatever those standards are, >> if they don't abide by those standards after you guys call and the courts will give her more punishment, whatever it may be. Um, but for our sake, we give it up to the juvenile ascent juvenile court system. >> That's just paraphrasing all of this. Okay. >> Okay. >> Um, right here is this phone number here. I wish I had a highlighter. This is barely seen. That's the phone number that you guys are going to have to call within 7 days. Okay. >> All right. if you could. Did we already grab um at least one of your yours and one of yours um ID? Cuz on a report, we also had to put that we gave them to you guys. We didn't just like >> The adult suspect was charged with retail theft, fleeing and eluding police, driving with a suspended license, and contributing to the delinquency of two minors. The moment a simple theft turned into a reckless escape, the consequences became far bigger than any of them expected. >> Oh, this was Um, she was in the store shopping. Um, collect some items, conceal them. >> You've been convicted of retail desk. >> So, you need to make sure that >> on the 7th of April 2025, police were dispatched to a Kroger after reports of a theft. The woman suspected of the crime panicked so badly when she was caught that she could not stop eating to keep herself calm. Here's what happened when officers arrived at the scene. >> Hello. >> Time. Thank you. Uh this um she was in the store shopping collected some items, concealed them in her purse. Uh stopped her and then she near the foyer. >> Okay. >> She did purchase a few items in the bag off her items. Um don't she's in right now. Um she's been cooperative since she's been up here, got her information. She does have a photo identification. I completed the in-house retail pet report and I did issue a trespass as well. Okay. She's not She's advised that she's not allowed any property any um >> I'll make you some copies of those. >> Okay. >> Can I see your ID? >> Right here. >> And there. >> I know. I need >> Thank you. >> supposed to go in your mouth. Yeah. >> You got anything else in your purse? >> No, thank you. >> Okay. >> Her emotions had already become an indirect confession to the theft. However, they also made it difficult for officers to gather a statement from her and it seems she had no intention of stopping her stress eating. >> She has had a previous conviction for theft. >> Any amount of retail theft is a felony. >> Have you been convicted of retail theft? Um, it's worth it. >> So, you need to make sure that you need to make sure of that. So, what would you do? >> Yeah. But what would you ask them for? >> To run a CQ. Okay. >> So, I'm going >> Marian 39. Can you run a CQ on Aaron and advise if there's been any theft convictions in the past? >> Okay. >> Sorry. I got your seat. >> Okay. Well, she's got to check it. She's in training, so that's why I'm trying to teach her up. So, >> are you still staying at America's Best? >> No, I haven't stayed at my grandpa's. >> Huh? >> My grandpa's >> Where's that? >> How'd you get here? >> This is a show value without tax. >> Okay. I was here since >> Thank you. >> Porsha who? Huh? >> Where's that at? >> Okay. >> What apartment is that? >> From her neat clothing to her tidy hairstyle, she did not look like a shoplifter at all. But appearances can be deceiving as officers discovered this was not the only time she had stolen that day. >> So they said, "Can you check her because I forgot her name?" Shaina. So apparently Walgreens. Sorry. Walgreens just called and said that she was stealing stuff from Walgreens. >> Okay. So, you want me to snatch her up? >> No, I mean, but [clears throat] if you can just >> Walgreens, >> I've got her information. It's sh something. So, the guy on the bike that I got earlier, that's his girlfriend and she's standing outside behind Cro just tripping balls. >> Yeah. Well, apparently she apparently when we walked in, one of the ladies was like, "Hey, this lady on the side of the building, they called and warned us that she would come over here and steal a bunch of stuff cuz they just kicked her out of Walgreens for stealing." So, that might be a good little foot stop. >> She was honoring me. >> Yeah. Hey, do you have any needles in here that I'm going to get stuck with? >> That bag I just bought brand new. >> Okay. >> I don't have anything. What's your phone number? >> 923. >> Okay. We're going to get you a refund on all the items that you purchased here today. Okay. >> They're not going to take the needles at the jail. They're going to throw them away. >> So, I'd rather you get your money back then. >> Thank you. >> In fact, the woman was not unable to pay for the items or facing any immediate lack of money as officers soon discovered she was carrying a noticeable amount of cash among her belongings. I'm going to stick I'm going to stick the change and the cash in your purse. Okay. Or in your wallet. >> I'll run to the pharmacy. >> Thank you. >> All right. >> If you want, go ahead take her down there with you. >> Okay. >> Um and you can start scratching her out a ticket for uh possession. or I'm sorry, just go ahead and get her for retail theft. Okay? >> And it's going to be I'll show you the charge. Just But just start here. Just start taking her. >> Shortly afterward, she was escorted outside and continued expressing her belated remorse. >> All right. Go ahead. >> Be careful down these steps. Okay. >> I wish I break my head. >> Here, I'm going hold on to you so you don't fall. I've always been a leopard. Yeah, you're good. >> I just don't want you to fall. >> I'm already on free trial services, so they're not going to let me out of Let me check this really quick. >> I don't All right. Go ahead, sister. All right, sit back just a little bit. There you go. >> Oh god. >> How long you been out? A >> week. I was supposed to go to pretty foul services tomorrow. I didn't make it. >> All right. Well, we'll let them know you're here. >> In the end, the woman was charged with retail theft. One bad decision can quickly lead to serious consequences. Trying to cope with stress through harmful choices only makes problems worse. Taking responsibility early and seeking help is always better than risking your freedom. On the 8th of August 2025, police received a report of a shoplifting incident at a Walmart store. The suspects were allegedly two women who had repeatedly pass merchandise to another woman waiting in the parking lot. When officers arrived at the scene, they approached the suspect as she appeared to be loading the merchandise into a vehicle. This was what happened next. Can I get around? >> I can bring it in. >> Just be advised that the two individuals inside the store were passing items to the individual that's in the parking lot currently. >> Your sisters? >> Yeah. >> Two sisters. >> Yeah. >> One individual. She's cooperating. New York Remark Golf. Remark 3097. >> Is that so paper? >> She's saying that some of the [ __ ] >> No, that [ __ ] She She said that that's not all that. Go ahead, man. Is that stuff paid for right there? Acura color. >> I've been there. The woman claimed that the items in the shopping cart had already been paid for, yet she was inexplicably pushing the cart back into the store, prompting officers to immediately stop her and investigate further. >> Give me one second. Let me hold on. Ma'am, hold on. Ma'am, >> okay, ma'am. >> I'm going to >> Okay, hold on. >> Hold on. Stop. >> I don't like I don't like having authorities. >> All right, listen. It's either you cooperate or you're going in handcuffs. Stop. We're trying to be respectful, but you got to work with us here. All right. Hold on a second. >> All right. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> Listen, now >> they're handcuffing me. >> They're handcuffing me. They're >> going to have you taking my phone. You got to come outside. >> Listen to me. >> Oh my god. You obviously know what's going on. You know why we're here. We have body cameras. Okay, >> we're going to get to the bottom. A lot of stuff. Stop moving. >> Three West Road 103 run. The other vehicle that went >> there is a gray car. No further information. >> Can you give me a second, please? I do not feel well and I suffer from health. Can I just please have to walk away? >> We're going to put you We'll let you sit in our car. Can I get my phone? >> On the other hand, another suspect soon appeared completely unaware of what had already happened to her accomplice. Naturally, she was about to face a very similar outcome. >> I never was. >> Why? >> No, I didn't do nothing. >> But I didn't do nothing. >> To me, they just described you walking out here as being part of this just you're being detained. I call your phone. I call your phone. I phone. >> Okay. Your friend in the car dictated the situation being the way it is by walking away from us and not paying attention. Handcuff as well. Just listen. Okay. >> But I didn't do nothing. Officer not saying it was an arrest. I'm saying you're detained for our investigation. >> And like I said, you can thank your friend in the car for us dealing with it this way. She could have been way more cooperative than she was. >> Just let him read you your rights and then we'll leave. >> I'm going to put you over to that corner right there and I'm going to read you your >> You got my phone? >> I got it. You got your phone over there. Is there Who's the third person? Is there another girl that you're friend with? >> I'm like, I'm >> Both women stubbornly denied any wrongdoing and refused to provide any useful information about the incident. Do you think this was something they had agreed upon beforehand? At this point, officers also began explaining the potential consequences and charges the suspects could be facing. >> Placed under arrest for chocolate. My boss just informed my partner over there. All right. >> Let my friend go. >> I don't know. I was just told to let you know that you're going to be placed under arrest. So, we're going to get you out of the car again in a minute. You want me to get my family? >> Your your sister I don't know what's happening. I think your sister's being released also. So your sister knows your sister will be able to make a phone call if you want. When you get to headquarters after we're done doing what we got to do, then we'll let you make a phone call. >> No, cuz your sister's here. Your sister's your family, correct? >> Your sister. All right. Your sisters make a phone call for you. You're not doing that now. >> It has markers. We wrote on them. They've been in the car. You can open it. >> Finally, the 25-year-old woman was ultimately charged with shoplifting while her sister was released shortly afterward. Learn this. Refusing to cooperate and denying obvious evidence will only make an investigation more difficult and often lead to more serious consequences than simply taking responsibility for your actions. for the next case. This woman practically tore apart an entire store without a shred of shame. >> All right. Yeah. I don't even know how. >> You were at their store, right? >> I don't want to tell you anything. Can you just take me into jail? >> Okay. >> On the 1st of December, 2025, deputies were dispatched to a local store after receiving reports of a woman barricading herself inside a restroom. When they arrived at the scene, witnesses also described the crazy behavior she had displayed earlier. >> Where she at? She's in here. >> She's in the bathroom right now. She's been in their attic and she [ __ ] everything up and threw [ __ ] off everywhere. >> Okay. All right. You're just You guys are just helping out basically. >> Yeah. This is our gas station. We >> They didn't really want to do nothing. I was going to drag her out of here. >> Yeah. She's in the bathroom right now. >> Yeah. But if she comes out, you don't want her to go back up here because it's going to be hard to get her out. >> Okay. Okay. All right. She's wrecked the bathroom here. >> Yeah. Okay. Well, my partner was on her way, so she'll be here in a minute. >> It's unlocked this door out of there. >> H Yes. But I'll wait for my I'll wait for my partner. >> Pretty crazy. >> Yeah. >> She up their store, though. She was throwing stuff off when we got out of here. >> She messed all this stuff up in here, too. Is that all from >> She's up there in the attic with the pipes. Hopefully, she didn't break nothing. >> Okay. Do you know who she is? >> This lady cracked up. >> Is she white? Yeah, she white probably 30s 40s. >> Okay. >> Early 40s. >> She's wearing like a black or gray sweater. >> I couldn't see her. She was just yelling. >> She was just kind of cut behind and throwing stuff on. >> But you don't want them to come out and get back up there if they can get her out of the room. >> I know. Yeah. >> These witnesses seemed completely familiar with the disruptive suspect. They even knew this was not her first incident and raised several suspicions about what might have been behind her condition. soft. She She'd come in four or five times, you said before. >> Yeah. >> And she she wrecks her bathroom and says a little bit and goes off. >> Okay. >> Never this bad. >> Okay. >> Yeah. She must have I've dealt with her. I was just down here yesterday. I'm pretty sure. >> Yeah. But I bet you she got some mess from somebody and Yeah. Now she's all spun up even worse than she has yesterday. So, >> but what little bump? >> Yeah. >> What What do you do? Do you take him to jail or do you >> She's definitely going to go to jail just based off whatever. >> That's not up to me. I just take him to jail on record. >> She'll be by next week. It ain't That ain't >> Yeah, that's out of my hands. >> Well, you you you don't just take her somewhere else. >> No. No. Especially not She doing this? >> Yeah. Well, I'm going to take her somewhere else. She going to do the same thing somewhere else, you know. >> Pretty hot today. >> Yeah. >> Run a little hot. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> I told her I give her 100 bucks to come down. She wouldn't come down. >> Oh. from the ceiling. >> Yeah. Well, if she's [ __ ] restored, there a bunch of stuff off that >> once once I have her detained, I'll talk to the store owner and get >> all the information, have them go up there. >> A lot of damage, pulling pipes and weird stuff off. >> Yeah, I agree. >> She quickly became the focus of the deputy's attention, but the restroom had seemingly turned into her personal fortress, forcing them to take decisive action. [snorts] >> Ashley, sheriff's office, come out the door now. >> You're under arrest. You're under arrest. Come out the door now. >> Yes. You're under arrest. Come out the door now. >> Ashley, you're under arrest. Come out the door now. >> Is going to be used against you. >> You're not going to arrest me. >> Yep. >> Okay. Hang on a second. >> Yeah, you do understand. >> No, I'm not. >> Okay. She completely destroyed the the back room in the store. >> It [snorts] seemed that she had calmed down after being arrested. But the moment she was escorted outside, she turned the area outside the store into a chaotic scene with HER VOICE ALONE. >> BABE, [screaming] HELP. DAD, HELP. DADDY, HELP. They're arresting me. Help. Help. Help. >> THEY'RE ARRESTING ME. DADDY, HELP. [screaming] HELP, DAD. DADDY, they're arresting me. Help. >> Face the car. >> They're going to hurt me. >> Ashley, nobody's going TO HURT YOU. >> HELP, >> ASHLEY. Nobody's going to hurt you. >> Yes, you are. >> No, I'm not. Sit in the car. >> Yes, you are. >> I don't want any of her stuff. >> We don't even know if it's her. She's been going around stealing people's stuff for the last couple days. Do you mind opening that door? Actually, is the light turned on in there? >> Is the light turned on in here? >> How's the light turn on? >> This one's I think Oh, it's a lot. Let me just listen to me. >> I know. I know. I got >> I got to get some pictures. I appreciate it though, man. Thank you. >> Looks like she stole >> Okay, you're you're good, dude. >> Awesome. Thank you. All right. Well, I don't even know how. >> You know what? It's pretty uh pretty wet and nasty. Pulled off. >> There you go. >> This one's >> Yeah, somebody's in there. >> Someone's in there. Now they're out. >> The scene inside the store revealed the full extent of the damage the woman had caused. And that very destruction made it difficult for the deputy to determine the value of the damages at that moment. >> Maybe >> I'm going to give you I'm going to give you uh my card and a case number and then I want you to call me back. >> Do you think it's over $500 or $400 worth of damage? the the items actually broke cuz just cuz you just cuz you tip something over doesn't mean that it broke. >> You know what I mean? >> Can Can you Can you hear me? >> Yes, I hear you. >> Okay. So, just because stuff's tipped over doesn't mean that it's broken, right? So, I need him to go through and determine what she broke. And then I need an exact dollar amount with the items that she broke. I'm going to give him I'm going to give him my case number and my card. And once he's done, he's going to have to call me and let me know cuz I have to put that in the report. Um in the meantime though in the meantime, he he's saying over $400. >> No, not over. That's more than that. >> Well, I know. >> I need an exact amount. At this time, though, in order to take her to jail, I need to know. Is it over $400 or under $400? >> So I think it's like more than like you said maybe,000 not 100. >> Okay. So I I Okay. Can you Can you listen to me? >> Uhhuh. >> Are you listening? So >> it has to be if it is over $400. >> Uhhuh. >> Okay. I need to have an exact amount with a breakdown of what she broke. >> Okay. >> Back with [snorts] the suspect. She showed no remorse or embarrassment for her actions. Almost as if everything she had done was an intentional attempt to get herself sent to jail. >> You were at their store, right? >> I don't want to say anything. Can you just take me into jail? >> Okay, that's fine. So, just letting you know. Oh, >> I don't want to talk to you anymore. Just take me into jail. >> Um, when you were in the bathroom, >> I just want to go into jail. Stop talking to me. >> Okay. Well, just letting you know that you're under arrest. >> Okay, stop talking to me. >> Felony vandalism. >> I didn't do I didn't vandalize. I own the store. So, get me out of this car. I don't want to talk to you anymore. >> I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU ANYMORE. >> You don't need You're not a judge. So, leave me alone. >> And also, uh, >> stop talking to me or delaying our investigation since you weren't listening to us come out of the bathroom. Okay. So that's why you're under arrest right now. Okay. >> Step out. >> Do you have any uh >> no >> weapons or drugs hidden on your person? >> Okay. Well, if you don't tell me now, it's going to be felony charge if you have anything. >> I don't have anything on my >> I'm letting you know. It's the same thing I have to tell anybody. >> Great. >> They're going to put you in a body scanner if you have anything on your first. >> I know. I I understand that. I don't have anything on my person that I know of. >> Now you know. >> The woman was charged with resisting or obstructing an officer and felony vandalism. Actions have consequences and creating chaos only turns a bad situation into a far more serious legal problem. I >> mean that's that's you. >> It might be, but I don't have jacket. I don't have a jacket like that. >> Those are the same followed you and then you're saying you dropped it at the corner before you crossed the street. >> Okay. All right. Cool. Sounds good. On the 10th of February 2025, police received a report of a shoplifting incident. The suspect, a woman, allegedly fled the scene while continuously dropping stolen items along the way. Every lead eventually pointed to a nearby motel. Here's what happened next. >> Okay. All right. >> Okay. 10 minutes. Okay, Dad. Okay, >> unknown race female black jacket with a dog. >> So, right now you're just being detained. Okay. I don't know if it's you or not, but there was reports of a theft at Safeway and the individual watched the female >> another person by that description maybe. >> Okay. >> All right. Cool. Yeah, we'll just get a cigar. That's good. You're wearing black jacket and you have a dog. So, thank you. All right. Yeah, sure. We're just hanging out right here. Thank you. Thanks. Yeah. >> Hey, Pers. So, uh, who stays in 18? Did you recently just see her walk? >> No, but I do know that she does wear a black jacket and she also has a small dog. >> Okay. >> Um, >> was she wearing a face covering? >> I'm not sure about that. Um, the only other woman, there's a lot of women with dogs around here. Okay. So, we have a couple of them. Uh, face mask. >> Um, so I'll I'll write down the numbers. >> Okay. >> That I can't remember. >> Do you have immediate access to like review the cameras? >> Uh, do you know what time it happened? Like when she came >> like 5 10 minutes ago. >> Yeah. Like right before he got here. >> Okay. Um, >> the people at the motel were very cooperative in helping locate the suspect, especially one woman who was not involved in the case at all. However, she listened closely to everything that was being discussed around her. >> I was walking past and not expecting to see someone wearing a black jacket holding a dog. I was like, "Okay, >> there's that." >> And he's like, "Well, I can think of a few people then." >> I know. >> They might have gone past here. Well, I don't know. I guess if she saw them come here. I don't know. >> Yeah, it sounds >> They all kind of blend once you've been in the corner. They all kind of >> Yeah, she went into a room. >> Yeah. >> Oh, wow. Okay. Well, >> yeah, those guys don't mess around. >> Yeah. No, I know. I know. >> I know. I've seen them. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. [laughter] Depending on what manager is working there, they're they're they get after it. So, >> I still remember like this is like 6 years ago back at WCO. Yeah. >> Like I witnessed this guy get took down by crazy >> not mess around with WCO. It's like they have the craziest cameras, too. And like >> they're security guys when they're on duty. It's like >> they handle business. It's >> like a fulltime job for them. >> I like going there because they have everything like packaged ready to go for us. It's like they have the video, they have their statements. It's like, "All right, cool." >> They know what they need. >> It's important. Super important. >> The Starbucks I I got Starbucks. >> In reality, the woman helping police identify the suspect was actually the suspect themselves. Officers described her carefully to give her a chance to confess, but she did not admit anything. [music] They then presented the evidence and formally accused her. >> Okay. >> I mean, that's that's you. >> It might be, but I don't have jacket. I don't have a jacket like that. >> Those are the same pants. Same shoes. >> Okay. >> Same dog. >> Okay. Look. So, I didn't take anything out with me except for my Starbucks that I paid for. >> They said that you took deli food. >> No, no, no, no. I promised you that I didn't take deli food. All I had was my Starbucks and that's it. That is all. I have no reason cuz look, I know better. Like I just said to you, I know better. I know how it is there. >> Okay. Well, our partner's watching video. >> Yeah. No. Yeah. >> He has probable cause and you're going to be under arrest for theft. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. Let's have you step out and >> go through the process here. >> Is my dog Oh, >> is your dog okay in here? >> I don't know. That's up to them. It's not up to you. So, >> I just want to make sure. >> Oh, yeah. >> Sorry. Is she a patient? >> Yeah, she'll be fine. All right. Stay right there. >> Just put your hands behind your back for >> So, my partner does have probable cause for step three. Okay. >> Those fit. Okay. >> Yeah. Yeah. Thank you for harassment. >> Okay. So, right now you're under arrest for the theft. Okay. Um, my partner's over there right now going to review video and all that and then he will come over here. So, yeah, she's under arrest for the theft. I'm just going to be upfront and honest with you right now. If you don't have any outstanding warrants or anything like that, >> then um you'll likely just get a citation and be on your way. Um, so >> I don't have any. >> You don't have any? No, I do not. >> Okay. Do you want to go to your car and then do a search and then we'll get your information and all that good stuff? >> Immediately after, officers returned to the motel to confirm everything and verify the exact moment she had appeared there. >> Oh, I see. Okay. All right. Um, >> same dog just wearing a a shirt. >> Okay. Yeah. >> So, she says her dad is living here or staying here. >> What room? >> He stays in number 16. Sorry. So that's kind of why I was confused because she's his dad is or her dad is right next to 18. >> Her dad's next to 18. >> So he's 16 and then the person I thought might have had the do that fit the description was in 18. >> Okay. When did what way did she come in from? >> So she came from the security footage. It seems like she was coming in from that direction >> of her. >> Where did she come from? The room up here. Oh, I didn't see her like come like this way, but um I can still review the footage because I I think she did come in through this way. >> How far does your cameras go down? Does it go like all the way down to the rooms? >> But we don't have any cameras that face directly at the ones. >> So, you wouldn't have a camera that shows like room 16 where she might have entered. >> She didn't go in cuz um she doesn't have the key to the room. And he's recently changed the locks because he said that people >> Well, he might not let her in. >> No, he's not there. >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah. So, nobody's let her let her into the room and then she came in asking me if I would let her in. >> Yeah. >> Returning to the woman, she still seemed unwilling to be honest about what had happened. But under pressure from the officers, she was forced to admit the truth. >> Okay. So, we established that you were at Safeway. >> Yes. >> And your claim was that you got you got Starbucks. Is that correct? >> I got Starbucks. What did you get at Starbucks? >> Uh, white chocolate mocha. >> White chocolate mocha. Did you get any food? >> No, I was going to, but I She said the system wasn't working or whatever for the >> Okay. Did you go anywhere else in the store other than Starbucks or did you go just into the Starbucks? >> No, I did. I went to the deli. You went to the deli and then I proceeded to the deli and then before I left I dropped it because I knew that I shouldn't walk off with it, so I dropped it. >> Okay. What' you grab at the deli? >> Uh, Jojo's. >> Jojo's okay. The the potato things. >> Yeah. >> So, where did you drop it at exactly? >> By the by this corner. Not on the corner roadway by the corner here. >> Okay. So you took the Jojo's from the store though. You exited all and then you dropped it. >> But I dropped them on the property. Like I dropped them still in the parking like >> so before you crossed the street. Correct. >> Okay. But you walked >> as when she asked me to drop it and then I dropped I didn't hear anybody behind me. >> Yeah. >> And then when she asked me to drop it, I dropped it and then she just kept following me and I was like you asked me to drop it. It's there like and then she left. She disappeared. So I don't know where she went. >> Right. So again, just recap. Yes. >> Jojo's. >> Yes. >> You walked out from the deli. >> Yes. >> Pass the exit. Yes. >> The manager followed you and then you're saying you dropped it at the corner before you crossed the street. >> Okay. All right. Cool. Sounds good. All right. Hang tight for me. Okay. >> Thank you. >> Yep. >> It did not stop there. Officers also went back to verify the stolen items she had taken. And from that evidence, they confirmed that she was still being dishonest. I have the jacket and bag over here at 22. Yeah, it's all sitting right here. Perfect. With the dog, the jacket, the bag that she was leaving with, her coffee sitting right there on the bottom, the bag. >> Yeah, the Safeway bag that she had in her hand. And I don't know whose purse is. >> I didn't see her with a purse. really quick. >> Yeah, >> you've been really good. Yeah, >> you've been nice. Yeah, >> I appreciate that. >> Yeah, >> but we found your the jacket that you were wearing, your dog's coat, and then the [snorts] reusable bag. And then there's also chicken tenders in there. Hot chicken tenders from Safeway. >> Okay. >> Did you take those as well? >> No, >> cuz they're so hot to the touch. And they have the Safeway. Well, they're in your bag that's right here. >> Okay. I dropped them at this at the stop sign there. I thought I dropped everything. Okay. Well, you had just told me the the Jojo's, nothing else. >> Well, that's just it. I had >> Not that it really matters. It's still a theft three, but there's there's hot chicken tenders in in your bag or whatever. I was just curious what what's up with those? >> I don't know. >> You remember taking those two or what? >> I don't honestly. All I was worried about was the fact that I dropped him at the corner, so I don't know. >> I don't think I had anything else. >> In the end, the woman was charged with thirdderee theft. Her attempts to deny the obvious only deepened the case against her, showing how continued dishonesty can turn a minor incident into a more serious legal consequence. What's even worse, you won't believe what the next man was responsible for. >> GET DOWN. DROP [screaming] IT. DROP IT. Drop it. >> Let go. >> LET GO. On the 5th of October, 2025, officers were dispatched to the scene at around 5:00 a.m. after receiving a report of a domestic violence incident between a married couple. But the officers had no idea the situation was far more complicated than they expected. When they arrived, the wife came forward and gave her account of what had happened. >> Is he gone? >> Yeah, he took my van. >> Soon's pure media. >> And that's my mom coming. >> What happened to my >> What is it? What happened tonight? >> We were laying down in the bed. >> Yeah, >> you're going to be coming. >> The wife was confirmed to have suffered injuries after her husband assaulted her, choked her, and even nearly bit off her ear. The officer's immediate priority was to ensure she received medical assistance. >> Is your van registered to you or is it registered to? >> It's me. Everything is in the fox. He's holding up. Either that or worn. >> I don't know where he would have gone. took his phone up to the cracked window. >> He doesn't have family in the area. >> No, >> he on probation for >> it was um >> I'm going to jump in here real quick. I got to take your photos. Um, it was resisting the rest. >> Um, then it was a DV. I told them not to do anything. >> Can you pull your hair up for me a little bit? >> They did try to choke me, but >> You might not believe it, but investigators determined that the incident began after the husband became intoxicated and insisted on driving. Fearing he would get behind the wheel in that condition, his wife tried to hide the keys, but she was ultimately unsuccessful. At around 10 a.m. that same day, Walmart reported an active shoplifting incident. In a shocking twist, the suspect turned out to be the same husband involved in the earlier domestic violence case. >> HEY, QUICK STOP. Please stop. PLEASE >> GET DOWN ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW. HEY, >> I WILLING SHOOT YOU, [screaming] MOTHER. >> I'm getting down. >> 90 deployed. One resisting. >> DROP THE KNIFE. DROP THE KNIFE. >> I need cars right now. He's got a knife. >> Grounding thing. >> THROW IT. >> THROW IT OR YOU'RE GOING TO GET SHOT. >> $50. GREAT. >> We got one at gunpoint, one's running. One black mill. All black with a black Detroit beanie on. >> Listen, bro. It ain't working, bro. >> It ain't working. >> Hey, take a deep breath. It's a ticket. >> It ain't working. >> It's a ticket. >> It's a ticket, brother. It's a ticket and you're out of here. >> It's It's not that big of a deal. >> It's fine. You are fine. >> Mine's been made up since last night. >> I promise you it's not the end of the world. I promise you, dude. This is no big deal. >> You don't know me in that. >> I don't I don't >> But this is nothing at the end of the day. >> Listen, I don't want to do it. I'm not trying. >> I know. Could have been a ticket. It could still be a ticket. All >> lie. It's not going to be >> I can't. >> With their firearms drawn, the officers repeatedly warned him to drop the weapon as he had completely lost control of the situation. Moments later, he also admitted to what he had done to his wife the night before. >> Yo, I bit my wife's ear off last night for cheating. >> Okay. >> Yeah, >> you're good. >> I wanted to buy her juggler. She's pregnant. They want to kill a baby. >> Now, I've already thought I've already thought all night. >> Already thought about all night. >> Huh? 15 years that >> man know everybody in this fight, bro. >> What's up? >> I'm done. >> He already tried to hit me once with the the screwdriver. >> I didn't really >> Yeah, I did. I I get him once. 32. >> He was deliberately escalating the tension, but not because he wanted to fight the officers. [music] He knew exactly what he was doing. And moments later, he made a shocking move. GET DOWN. DROP IT. DROP IT. DROP IT. >> LET GO OF THE GUN. >> LET GO. THROW IT. LET GO. THROW IT. Let go. Throw it. THROW IT, MAN. Throw it. >> THROW IT. THROW IT. >> THROW IT. AND IT'S OVER. THROW IT AND IT'S OVER. COME ON. >> Throw it. Throw it. >> Throw the screwdriver. >> JUST THROW IT. >> DROP THEING KNIFE NOW. DROP IT. >> DROP THE [ __ ] knife. Drop it. >> DROP THE KNIFE. KNIFE. DROP THE KNIFE. Let it go. Let it go. LET IT GO. LET IT GO. That hurt. Let it go. You crazy. >> Let it go. You're crazy. Just try got you. I got you. I'm already doing 15 now. >> Oh yeah. Punch me in the face. >> LET IT GO. >> Punch me high. >> LET IT GO NOW. >> CAN WE GET HIS LEGS CONTROLLED? >> Let's get his legs controlled. >> The officers quickly took him into custody. Even in his condition, he showed no remorse. Although he admitted he was still intoxicated, [music] he was fully aware of what he had done and understood exactly what he was about to face. >> I don't want to kill you. Dude, I told you I don't want to hurt you. >> Yeah. Did I try to hurt anybody? >> Was I moving the knife toward screwdriver? >> Was I moving the true virus to anybody? I was tagged. I couldn't move. >> Dude, it locked my hand up. It >> doesn't matter. >> You're on top of me. Bam. Bam. Bam. As they're pulling the trigger, >> dude. You should have heard me, bro. You should have killed me. Now I got to think days, days and days later. Now it's going to be days and weeks. And I got to think about how my daughter's been to >> Why would you want to die when you have kids, man? cuz he got turned on me, man. >> They're lying to me now. I ain't never lied to you before. And I caught her up. >> Listen. >> Listen, brother. >> You can fix your life, man. You can fix your life. >> Oh, yeah. Behind bars. What's going to happen? 15 years. >> Why would you get 15 years? >> Why would you go back? 9 years old. Attempted murder on a cop. >> Attempted murder on a cop. >> They admitted to the knife. >> So, you got a knife then? You got a knife now or you got a You got a screwdriver now. >> Then I actually forcibly tried to I didn't try to do anything. >> I just said I said I don't want to hurt you. Just kill me. >> So you went to prison for it? Attempted murder on a cop. >> In the end, Garrett [music] was convicted of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder in the East Point case. Assault with intent to do great bodily [music] harm less than murder in the Sterling Heights case. And second offense, domestic violence. Instead of accepting responsibility, the suspect continued to make dangerous choices that only worsened the situation. No matter how difficult life becomes, staying in control of your emotions and making responsible decisions will always lead to a better outcome. Even worse, this next shoplifter managed to cause far more trouble in just a single day. >> Stole you had that [ __ ] up here. >> Remember the two waters in THE RED BULL? >> [screaming] >> ON THE 4TH OF APRIL 2026, police received a call from a Casey store reporting a disturbance involving a woman who had previously been caught shoplifting elsewhere in the area. She arrived at the store showing signs of being completely [music] out of control. This was what happened when officers arrived at the scene. >> She here or she loves >> she's here. >> Regular customer woke up to go to work and she was in his car. She was in Wait, what was it? She was in someone else's car. >> Yeah. So, he brought her up here because she swears she knows somebody here. Her ride left her here. >> I dealt with her this morning at Love. She was stealing stuff from Loves. >> Oh, >> yeah. She's tweaking it on the invoice, talking to herself. >> Oh, yeah. She's got Yeah, >> she's telling customers she wants to >> like she's right inside. I let her plug in her phone. I bought her a Gatorade just to shut her up for a minute, but she a hot mess. What >> you doing? I think you were getting smoked. I asked her, ask her and ask the There was a lady outside smoking you. Yes. Literally ask these two. They ringed it up. They ringed up everything that I had. >> Okay. This the issue is that you not paying for stuff this time. >> I'm banned. Yes, I know. I was telling them about that. I watch your videos. >> You're not banned from here, but you're causing issues here. >> Whose car were you in earlier? >> One of my friends. >> Who's your friend? >> Okay. She openly admitted that she did not care about the seriousness of the situation. In reality, however, she was facing more than just one offense. The officer quickly brought up the shoplifting incident from earlier that morning. >> Mission of probable cause. Don't play this game cuz you don't know. You have no idea. I could have arrested you this morning at lunch. >> Tell me a very very good like tell me something that I actually did. >> You stole that [ __ ] up here. >> Remember the two waters in the Red Bull? Remember that? >> My mom. It's still not yours. >> Okay. My mom works there. >> Your mom doesn't work there. >> My mom was part of She's part of the >> Okay. All right. So, what's the plan for the rest of the day? >> And you're just going to keep walking around town. I'm taking you somewhere. >> I'm literally I'm about to go sit somewhere where I can actually stay. >> Where? >> Not store. >> Huh? >> Not store. >> There's nowhere in Atinson, Illinois where you're going to be able to just stay without causing trouble. >> And I don't cause problems. >> Where'd you get that vape? Don't like my What the is he matter for? >> She didn't have that earlier. And last time you last time you showed me, you had 67 cents in your bank account. So, how can you afford a $15? >> [ __ ] can just No. I've never seen anybody like that. Especially with like these. That's always been my head. That's been like that. I don't care about that. I was thirsty. So, I came in, I bought a couple of drinks, and I got out. >> She paid for everything. >> She asked me if I wanted a receipt. I always say no. That's where I [ __ ] up. That's where y'all get me up at is >> quit cussing. You're in public. Go outside. >> I'm a grown ass woman. >> Yeah, exactly. So, you can talk like one. So, quit cussing. I don't want to talk. You're acting like >> I will talk about how I went about anything and anything I said. That is I I'll talk about how how I talk about. >> Is that your charger? >> The court is hers. >> Court is hers. >> Yeah, the court is No. Why you not about to tell me what to do? >> Quit cussing. I already told you. Quit cussing. >> You're not Are you my mom? Are you my mom? Am I under 18? >> No. Exactly. So, I can do whatever the I want. >> Although reports described the woman as unstable, the moment she tried to use her age as an excuse to avoid responsibility, it became clear she knew exactly what she was doing. After some persuasion from the officer, she eventually agreed to leave the area. >> Anyway, I'm just trying to have my people come pick me the [ __ ] up. I have nowhere to go. I'm stilling trying to figure this [ __ ] out. >> Okay, so obviously I I told you I would give you a ride. Which way do you need to go? towards Chicago or towards Quad Cities. Do you not want to ride? >> All right. Don't come back to Casey's or you'll be arrested. >> I told her to come back here. I'm going to arrest her. So, >> okay. But yeah, a regular customer brought her here cuz he woke up. >> Oh, sorry. Unless you're busy in his truck. >> I'm hungry. >> Do you know who that was? I don't know his name. And he said that he didn't want to call the cops cuz he didn't want to look like nothing. So he and she swear to God she knew. >> She does. She She's She's got mental issues. I mean, obviously >> obviously >> if she comes back here, give us a call. >> Okay. >> I'm just going to keep an eye on her though and just be in the area. >> Hopefully she it'd be ideal if she'd go to the hospital with me voluntarily, but she's not going to. >> Yeah. >> What seemed like the end was not. About 30 minutes later, police received another call reporting a woman trying to break into a pickup truck. When the officer arrived, he found a very familiar face. >> Don't touch it. Go away. HE >> GOT MY MOTHER. >> THAT IS MY MOTHER. >> IT'S A GUY. >> BRO, they told me that they can give me >> Go or you're going to go to jail. >> Bro, you're being >> I don't care what I'm being. [screaming] >> You're under arrest. >> Please. PLEASE STOP. SO [ __ ] [screaming] my stomach. >> [screaming] >> officer. What she failed to realize was that she was now resisting arrest. >> Stop grabbing my hand like that. You literally squeezing me and just burst out of my stomach with your biggest, bro. Like I said, first of all, literally right now I can't [ __ ] the utmost respect earlier. >> I know that. But when you threaten one of us, things tend to get escalated. >> Well, that's not what Sorry. >> Taser. >> That's a taser, too. >> Can't have that. >> Do you have ever protect yourself? But >> Dang. >> It's another felony. Well, we have to search a bag cuz we get a nice little contra any weapons that go into the jail along with drugs. Okay. Do you have anything? >> In the end, the woman was charged with terroristic threatening, resisting arrest, drug possession, and unlawful possession of a taser. Actions that seem minor can quickly escalate into serious criminal charges. Taking responsibility early, and cooperating with law enforcement can prevent a bad situation from becoming much worse. Threats, resistance, and reckless behavior often create consequences far beyond the original offense. Even worse, the next theft was organized, and the people behind it were all from the same family. >> Whatever they took? >> Yeah, I put it on. >> I got my receipt for all my stuff. >> Okay. >> You got video of the whole thing. >> Yeah. How many you saw? They got video. On the 8th of June 2025, officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a theft committed by familiar faces who had repeatedly carried out the same scheme at the store. Upon arrival, the suspects remained completely calm, as if they had already prepared themselves for the situation. >> Down. >> Yeah. >> You roll them all down. >> You film from Publix. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. want community right there >> where you pulled out of. >> Okay. So, why are we getting a call for you guys out of there? >> Yeah. >> Wow. >> Five people in there. You put me in the car. >> Yeah, I'm put four cuz there's five of you and two of us. >> Don't want you running off. >> Oh, I closed the door. >> I ain't taking nothing out of that store. >> The woman who was arrested was believed to be the oldest of the group and the mother of the other suspects. And just like their mother, they showed no remorse for their actions. >> License, ID cards, nothing? >> No. That's actually not how that works. But >> I'm a I'm not answering that. >> Well, you got to tell us your information. >> You don't got to answer what's called incriminating questions, but you do got to answer our questions about who you are or else that's another charge. So, pick your battles here. There's one there's one more in the car. I got one in the car. I got one in the car. going up right here. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. What? >> Can I sit outside? I can't breathe anymore, sir. >> I'll cut the I'll cut the ear on for you. All right. Have a seat. >> Can I tell you what happened? I ain't take nothing out there. The kids must have took something. They called me and said that the man was following them and I came out the store. I walked out the store empty-handed. I didn't take nothing. >> You should remember that this was not her first offense, but everything she said was simply an attempt to shift the blame onto her children. She had already prepared a story to justify herself and prove her innocence. >> All right. So, you were saying what did the kids text you? >> No, they called me and told me that he said take something out of their bag. I said, "What you talking about?" And then they was like, "Well, just come on." I was like, "I'm not coming out there right now." Cuz I had a whole basket full of stuff that I was in the bottle with my weight cuz I was getting my baby. >> They was like, "Just come on." So I went out the store and they they was like he was following them and I was like, "All right, I got to go." So I left. I didn't I walked out of that empty-handed. Y'all could check the cameras at that store. I walked out of that empty hand. >> Yeah. Cuz they called in about everyone walking out without paying for it. >> I didn't walk out with them. >> They walked out by You walked out separately? >> Yes, I walked. >> They say two people left at a time and two other people left. No, the two two of them left first. >> Okay. So, one in the car. One in the car. Do you have receipts for stuff you paid for in the car? >> Okay. What in the car is not paid for? >> I I don't I have >> you whatever they took. >> Yeah, I got my receipts for all my stuff. >> Okay. All right. Just watch the leg. I'm just going to take care of it. >> Meanwhile, officers reviewed the surveillance footage of what had happened and everything told a very different story from the one she had described. Take a look for yourself and let us know your thoughts on this mother in the comments. >> All right, I got all the beauty products. Basically, they took a lot of them, right? >> Yeah. Yeah. They the black bag was full. >> Yeah. They they basically loaded it in the cart first. They went down another aisle. As they're going to the other aisle, they stuffed it from the cart in their black bag which was sitting where the baby area is of the cart. And he just started like bars of soap, Irish Spring. for one. >> Yeah. >> They just literally went from one end of the aisle and started chucking stuff >> into the cereal aisle. The cereal >> and then and then they went >> Yeah. And then they went into the cereal aisle where they started chucking the stuff in the cereal aisle into the black bag. >> So >> they loaded the cart. They put it in the cart. Then they walked to the cereal aisle with a cart. As they were in the cereal aisle, they open the black bag and start put their beauty products in there kind of concealing like they were shopping. >> Yeah. And they use that aisle to conceal the hide where they're as they were loading stuff into the back. They didn't probably see them. >> Okay, sounds good. >> And then looks like they went to the back where the uh the refrigerators were. That's probably where they got the rolls. >> Okay. >> All right. Thanks. >> Today at 400. >> Yeah. So they just publish on North Lake and stole stuff from there too probably. >> Yeah. You said they were going through the health and stuff bag. >> Yeah. Then they dumped it all in there. >> Shortly afterward, the stolen merchandise was recovered from the suspects and officers explained what would happen next. >> I'm also sending Gardens PD over to the North Lake Publix where you guys just came from like an hour and a half ago to see if you guys from there too. cuz I know you bought donuts there. This is the only receipt you have. So, I highly doubt you went there, got donuts, and then came over to this Publix to buy candy with no receipt. So, also, all five of you going in there is a felony. It's not miserable anymore, by the way. It doesn't matter how much you have. You can candy bar together and get the felonies. >> Two or more. That's your mom. >> Perfect. She'll go for even more felonies. You're contributing to speed to a minor. Ael a felony >> felony felony >> felony I can't get enough >> organized scheme to defraud >> it's second degree felony punal by up to 10 years in prison >> I don't get how y got [laughter] >> things >> you got video of the whole thing >> one Yeah. How many you saw if they got video? >> Huh? >> How many you saw if they got >> I saw today's video and I saw pictures from the other times. >> In the end, all of them were charged with felony scheme to defraud and the mother herself was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Involving children in criminal activity only multiplies the consequences and can lead to even more serious charges for everyone involved. If you want to see more cases like this, let us know in the comments. >> Doesn't matter if you're skip scanning items, concealing items, swapping tags, still considered shoplifting, still considered fat. >> Can you even see the sticker on it? >> Yeah. >> She only scanned one. >> Mhm. >> On the 24th of April 2025, police were dispatched to Walmart after reports of a shoplifting incident. The suspect was believed to be a woman with a prior history of theft, but this time she had allegedly brought a family member along to help carry out the scheme. Here was what happened. According to store employees, >> the one that did the time switching on this part. So, but um they they did both like they underrang a sweatshirt like together like they were right there. The mom was trying to insert her car and she looked at her and the lady the other girl just grabbed it and put it in a bag. So, they were there the whole time for all of it. I mean, I can pull up the video. That's fine. Whatever you want to do. >> I was going to say this is going to be awesome's call. So, the it's a mom and daughter duo. >> Supposedly, >> uh, yeah, supposedly mom and daughter. Daughter apparently has a really bad attitude, which I'm sure we'll do great with. >> Great. >> Um, he must have forgot the butter or something. >> But, um, do mom, they've been trying to catch mom for a while for tag switching. Apparently, they went up to the register and mom was on the phone while daughter was scanning stuff, but they were right there together the whole time. And then mom goes to pay for everything and like they kind of do a little switcheroo with the the sweatshirt that they under rang. So, there is some tag switching in this one that they're assuming was the mom, but it was actually the daughter ringing up everything. So, it's going to be >> boss Hey. >> So, it's going to be one of the >> I don't even know if she's a Let's go get IDs first and then we can figure out if >> Immediately afterward, officers approached both suspects who had already been taken to the loss prevention office. From the looks on their faces, neither of them appeared to realize the serious consequences that were about to unfold. >> How old are you? >> 21. What's your name? >> Lexio. >> Do you have an Arkansas driver's license or ID? >> Do what? >> No. >> You've never had an ID out of any state? Okay. So, what state is it out of >> here? Arkansas. >> It's out of Arkansas. Okay. So, do you have an Arkansas driver's license or ID? >> Not Not on. >> Just in general. Okay. All right. Perfect. >> This comes back to not you. You're going to jail. I'm just >> ID. Yeah. >> Thank you. I forgot this was concealed in the mom's medication. >> That was not paid for. >> Well, Chris is saying that the mom's taking all the >> You can't take charges. >> No. The tag switcher, right? >> Mhm. >> So, the mom >> that was on here. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Was anything skip? >> Oh, nothing. >> This was skip. This was skip. >> This was tag switch. The young lady was scanning. It's about that one. >> Yeah. >> So, they used multiple theft methods from skip scanning to switching price tags, further proving just how experienced the motheraughter duo had become. While the daughter smiled and seemed convinced she could still get away with it, the police made a decision that caught her completely by surprise. >> Oh, stand up. You're going to jail anyways. Come on. >> Hold on. For what? >> Stand up and I'll tell you now. But >> Jesus take first off. >> What did you do? >> I'll we'll explain it. >> So in 2023, you were charged with theft of property and found guilty >> right in Little Rock. >> So any any subsequent theft after that within 10 years >> is automatic felony. Automatic felony. Doesn't matter if you're skip scanning items, concealing items, swapping tags, still considered shoplifting, still considered theft. >> Do you have something on you? >> So, today you'll be charged with a class B felony. >> What is that? >> Felony, >> not a misdemeanor. >> Yeah, it's it's a a higher charge. So, she's going to go to jail and have to >> theft of property. >> Stole. You can even see the sticker in it. >> Yeah. >> She only scanned one. >> Mhm. >> What ma'am? County Jail. >> Clearly at 21 years old, the woman should have understood the consequences of her actions. Perhaps following her mother's lead had made her overlook what she was truly risking. At that point, the police explained the consequences they were ab. >> You were saying about her that she could get bail fund or you say another word monetary. So I don't know if it's going to be like a a bail like it could be, you know, like they they could set like a $1,000 bail or make you pay money or they could do a signature coupon meaning she just has a sign promising she'll show up in court and they'll let her out. I don't know which they're going to do. with this being your first felony at >> with the bond like okay I'm not sure how bonds work but like can you do that like in payments or like you have to do like one big thing like one >> no if you can't afford it all at one time you have to get a bondsman you have to put something up as collateral to them and they'll pay it for you so you got a car or something like that or house >> usually about how much is the bond like a rough estimate >> for a for deft property what I don't know probably $1,000 >> honestly I truly don't know >> and they may o you just boot you Yeah. >> The signature on where they make you promise to show up in court and then they let you go without any money. >> Pretty sure they're going to make her see a judge. >> They will with a felony. She has to. >> Oh yeah. >> Yeah. Cuz they're at 213. They're not even at capacity. >> What's capacity? >> So what happened? >> 225. Huh? >> Oh, I was asking for what happened at that time. I didn't know. >> Oh, well she is an adult. >> Is it mom, right? >> Yes. So, this is a ticket for theft of property shoplifting less than $1,000. Okay. >> So, your coordinate >> still gets to go home. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. She'll get to go home. >> And technically, your driver's license is expired. You need to go get a new one. >> Uh, I'm waiting on my passport so I can get the new driver license. >> I got the real ID and I will be >> So, I'm waiting on my passport. >> If you get pulled over between now and then, they're not going to care. I'm just telling you. It's fire already. >> We all know that when someone commits a crime, they not only face legal consequences, but may also be required to compensate the victim. Walmart has its own trespass policy for offenders. But just take a look at her attitude. >> This is a >> trespass. >> Trespass meaning that you can't go to any Walmart, Murphy Station, anything with the Walmart signature on it. Sam's Club. Doesn't matter. You are trespassed from all of them in the state of Arkansas. Actually, it's everywhere. Yeah. You're you're trespassed from all of them >> even overseas. >> So when >> uh forever can never come back. If you are found back here, you can be charged with commercial burglary if you commit another crime. >> I can't go to the gas station. >> Nope. >> You will be >> If I go to the gas station, I'll >> You will be arrested for criminal trespass. If you steal from there, you'll be you'll be found guilty of commercial burglary. >> That's kind of absurd. I can't pump gas at a certain gas station. You can go to any other gas station. >> Don't be a thief. It's not that hard. >> Wasn't talking to you. >> I don't care. Um, so this is >> the 21-year-old woman was charged with felony theft of property after a prior theft conviction within the previous 10 years, while her mother was cited for shoplifting under $1,000. Every choice has consequences, and ignoring past mistakes only makes those consequences more severe. Taking responsibility early can prevent a moment of poor judgment from becoming a life-changing problem. Next, two women who both tried to run, but the outcome did not end well. >> Can I get my receipt, sir? Right here. I'm going to get my receipt. You don't have to touch me. >> Going to go right there. >> Okay. I'm going to get Okay. Keep going. >> On the 24th of June, 2024, police were dispatched to Target after reports of a theft in progress involving two women who allegedly attempted to push shopping carts out of the store without paying. When officers arrived at the scene, this was what unfolded. >> Is she the other one? >> Yes. >> Ma'am, >> hold on, please. >> Okay. >> Yes. I understand. Please stop. >> Stop doing nothing. >> Stop. >> Y'all doing the most. I don't >> Can I get my receipt, sir? Right here. >> I'm going to get my receipt. You don't have to touch me. >> You're going to go right there. >> Okay. I'm going to get Okay. I I just I just came. I'm not with her. >> Okay. Do you have your receipt or no? >> Why do you have to go to your car? >> Because I got it on my phone, sir. >> Okay. Then show me on your phone. >> Okay. >> Two separate things. >> I don't know what they have going on. >> Two separate things. Okay. >> That's what I'm saying. >> That's what I'm asking you. If you >> I don't have I don't know what's going on. >> Stop and listen to me. If you didn't steal, do you have a receipt? My Yes, I have my receipt. But I'm trying to figure out why he running after me. I don't even I don't even know. >> Where is your receipt? >> It's in my purse. But I'm still I don't even know them. >> Let me have your receipt then. I'll get you out of here in 10 seconds. >> Why would you want to know? >> Okay. Give me a second. I'll give you like what the hella I'm going to give it to you, sir. >> Stop and give me the receipt right here. >> Please shut out. I'm going to give it to you. It became clear this woman never truly intended to hand over the receipt as she immediately tried to move away toward her car, forcing officers to stop her. But moments later, the situation suddenly escalated when she unexpectedly took off running, triggering a chaotic pursuit. >> Stop. >> What is she doing? >> Oh, you give us traffic. >> Get down. You have to do that. I'm telling you, I'm going to give it to you. I'm going to throw up. Keep going. >> Get out of here. >> Stay down. Put your hands behind your back. Get >> out of me. Put your hand behind your back. >> I'm going to give it I'm going to get >> Stop. >> I'm going to give this to you. >> Stop, >> bro. Get out. You want to move? >> Put your hands behind your back now. >> Get up. >> I'm going to give it to you. >> Give nothing [music] now. >> Damn. Y'all doing them all. >> We're detaining one now. >> Whoa. I'm going to give it to you. Y'all doing too much. >> Keep your hands there, >> bro. I'm going to give y'all the receipt. >> Yeah, there's another black female. 23 description. >> I'm going to give y >> What's the other one? >> She was over there in a brown dress at the >> I'm going to give you the receipt. >> We got the one with black pants and a burgundy sweater. >> Whoa. I'm going to give y'all the receipt. >> Shut up about the receipt. She kept claiming she was trying to show police the receipt, but she had just walked out of the store, so why would she need to go somewhere else to find it? Meanwhile, the other woman was believed to be fleeing the scene, only further proving the theft was real. >> About $800. >> Okay. And you guys want to prosecute, please? >> Absolutely. >> You know where the other one went? >> Uh, she took off when she started running, so she went off west side. >> Are you okay? >> Yeah. Just passes over there. I'm finally gave you the receipt. >> We're past the receipt at this point. You understand that, right? Well, >> we're walking back to the front now. My car parked on the left side. >> They're over there if you can grab them. >> What? Ray, did you see what way she ran? >> No, I left her when I saw you fighting. I give you the on her feet, bro. >> She's wearing a gray uh cardigan or sweater. >> She has long black hair >> and then um >> gray sweater, long black hair, one around. >> Yeah, she was pretty slow over there. And then I left when she was fighting him. >> I wasn't fighting him. I was trying to get you the receipt, but he grabbed me. >> Shut up with the receipt. >> What you mean shut up? Take her to the car. Put her in the car. Did they leave on a vehicle or >> or not? >> Uh I I don't know. We we didn't get a chance to talk to him. >> Uh black. >> Uh I don't see where it is just from prior incidents. That's the vehicle they had been using. >> The woman arrested moments later was taken to the patrol car, but she did not make things any easier as she immediately began using her condition to complicate the situation. >> Hello. Can I breathe? I don't want to be closed in. Well, we got AC rolling. >> I was literally going to give him my receipt and he grabbed me. >> Okay, you could have g him the receipt. >> That's what I was trying to do, but he grabbed me. >> Okay, like I said, stay to that. Okay, you stick to that one. Cuz he tried to run. Why? >> Because he tried to grab me. What is he grabbing me for? >> That's what I'm trying to figure out. What is he grabbing me for? >> Right. Put your feet in. We got the AC running. >> You mess going to come over here and work on another thing. They've taken from here before or back to back >> in here. >> Yeah, >> this one particularly. Okay. >> Okay. >> Are you okay? No injury. Thank god you're so fast. What's what's hurting? >> My elbow and my my toe. >> Okay, so that's what Did you fell or how did that happen? >> Yeah, cuz he tried He threw me down. >> Oh, were you running away? >> No, I was just trying to get the wrist. Yes, I I was teaching to grab me. >> Oh, you ran away. >> Yeah, cuz he was trying to grab me. >> Cuz you didn't stop. >> Okay. The woman deliberately acted like a patient in need of care, but she had no idea all of her actions had already been confirmed by the loss prevention office. >> I can't breathe. >> That's the one that's missing. >> No, that's the one I fought with. >> Oh, wait. No, no, no. >> I'm sorry. You're right. You're right. >> Yeah. Can I just give your first and last name? >> I can't breathe. >> Can you tell me your first and last name, though? Sorry. All right. Shoes, too. >> I got one receipt. Um, he's working on the other one, but I saw something. >> Were they Were they together? >> Yeah, >> they always come in. >> Yeah, they will push you in two separate parts. >> You're not able to tell me your name. >> It's fine. If you don't want to, you can just say, "I don't want to tell you." >> You don't want >> My chest. My chest. >> Just say you don't want to tell me. It's fine. That's all That's all I need to hear. home. >> So, she starts backing up. So, I come around the car. I said, "Stop. Show me receipt. I'm going to show you a receipt." She kept backing up. I said, "Stop." So, that's when I grabbed her wrist. She pulled away. I grabbed her sweater. It came off and she took off running. >> So, I ran after her. I'm slow as hell. My trainee caught her. So, we got her down, cuffed her, and that's that. >> Yeah. Know, good work. That was just That was crazy. I've never seen anything like that in my life. >> Walk, >> sir. for these handcuffs is tie on my arm. Ow. >> Both women were charged in connection with the theft after attempting to flee the scene. Some people believe running away will save them from the consequences, but in the end, it often only makes the situation far worse before moving on to the next theft. Change the mood with this chaos. >> You have no reason to touch me. >> No, I'M A PASSENGER. LET ME GO. >> NO, >> YOU'RE NOT J. STOP. STOP. STOP. >> On the 19th of March 2026, the police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after the woman inside was involved in a traffic violation. But from the very first moments, she showed no intention of cooperating. >> Hello, buddy. >> How's it going today? >> All right. What's the problem? >> Good. I was pulling you over for now. Wearing the seat belts all on, buddy. It >> was not on. >> We got 4K cameras. It was 100% not on. I was watching. >> All right, buddy. >> All right. Got your uh license with you? It's right there. You >> really going to tell me it wasn't on? >> I'm not going to stop being a gift. >> Okay. >> Seat belt. >> Yeah. You can think it's petty if you want, but it's still the same. Don't need a lie. Uh, you still live in that? >> I am. >> Perfect. >> Can I go then? Because I live down the street and I want to. >> No, but when we're done, you can go. >> Dude, I'm not the driver and I'm wearing my seat belt. >> I'm telling you can't leave. So, no. Sum it up. >> All right. Uh, do you have insurance on the car, sir? >> To me, from here. >> What's that? >> You have insurance on the car? It's in there, isn't it? >> Attitude for no reason. >> I don't feel good and I want to go home. I feel in the back. >> Okay. Sorry your driver wasn't wearing your seat belt. That's our fault. >> That's not my fault either, though. >> No, it's not. But you're involved in the trap stop. >> You got to get up with a lot of people. >> I just got a ride from the food pantry. My food's in the >> Okay. You can't leave. >> Okay. Then call your supervisor. Ask him the rules because I'm still >> The rules are the law. >> I'm not doing anything. I'm at >> and you're not free to leave on a traffic stop right now. Okay. >> Yes. called us a daytime supervisor on the shift. >> Well, no, you wanted a supervisor. So, I'm getting her a supervisor. >> I'm talking to him now. So, >> I know. I'm just letting you know. He said he didn't want problems. So, >> I'm still on duty and you want me that way. >> Can you roll your window up real quick, ma'am? >> Oh, no. It's hot. >> Okay, we're going to run the dog. So, you're going to roll the window up. >> It's It's a risk. >> I demand a supervisor. >> And a supervisor is on the way. From requesting a supervisor to placing her foot on the vehicle door while speaking with the officer, she clearly demonstrated that she was in a position of power. She even knew how to put herself into a victim position. >> You will not >> Huh? >> touch me. >> What? >> You will not touch me. >> You're going to be searched. >> Why would I BE SEARCHED? I'M A PASSENGER. CALL I WANT AN AMBULANCE THEN. You have no reason to touch me. >> NO, I'M A PASSENGER. LET ME GO. >> BREATHE. >> NO. Let I just need to take A DEEP BREATH. I HAVE Parkinson's disease and I want TO GO HOME. HE GAVE ME A RIDE FOR THE FOOD PANTRY. YOU WON'T TOUCH ME. YOU WON'T TOUCH ME. >> NO. NO. [screaming] NO. YOU'RE TAKING DEMANDS of me. It's not fair. >> No, we're not taking >> I can't hear you. I'm sick. Literally, I'm sick. Please. No. I'm not listening. >> Come on. >> Thank you. Where's my heart? My hat. >> Okay. So, you're going to come back here with him. >> My shirt. I'm leaving. I'm going home. >> No, you're not. You're not. or else you're going to be placed under arrest. >> Okay, stand over here. >> You can see that the officers treated her carefully and in a relatively calm manner, but she responded in the opposite way. The situation escalated to its peak when her resistance during handcuffing turned everything into chaos. >> NO, YOUR HANDS BEHIND. [screaming] CALL THE AMBULANCE. NO, I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING. [screaming] >> WE HAVE RESISTING VIDEO. UH VIDEO [screaming] [laughter] YOU'RE NOT KICKING. >> I'M NOT KICKING YOU DOWN BEFORE you hurt yourself. Calm down before you hurt yourself BEFORE YOU HURT YOURSELF. SORRY. Please stand up. STAND UP. YOU'RE going to touch me. DON'T TOUCH ME. >> STAND UP. YOU'RE GOING TO HURT YOURSELF. We don't want you to hit your head >> sitting on me. Do you have >> We need to stand up. Yes, you can. I'm gonna help you out. >> Three, two, one. Up. >> Stand up. >> Stand up. >> Stand up. >> Let my LEG GET IT. WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR BACK? Calm down. Calm down. Help me. >> Watch this bag. >> Help me. No. >> TAKE THE BAG OFF. >> NO. STOP. >> NO. >> NO. >> YOU'RE GOING TO GET TASED. [screaming] STOP. YOU'RE GOING TO GET TASED. Put on YOUR STOMACH. >> WHY YOU HAND ME OUT? YOU HAND ME BEHIND [screaming] YOUR BACK. >> WILD. >> The officers struggled to handcuff the woman while the male driver also showed suspicious behavior. Fearing that he might interfere, the officers were forced to issue a clear warning. >> You can lean against car and record all you want, but first off, she's instructed to get out. And obviously, she's doing >> and I told her what she was before you posted her. You guys, you guys actually promote that with your knowledge of how you handle your public. >> It's your fault. Yes. >> It's all our fault. Okay. Uh, will you lean against my car like we're told you? >> Yeah. >> I'm only going to tell you one more time. I'm not You're still the one that my car cuz I'm in this car. >> You're still the one that's pulled over. >> You're still the one that's obviously being searched for narcotics. >> Work to pay your guys. >> Okay, sure. Put your hands way back. >> What have I done? I'm talking to you. I'm sitting on the car and you're arguing with me. What have I done to you? >> This is simple. I'm tired of telling you what to do. >> I'm sitting on a coat. What do I do to this dude? Well, we're going to figure that out here in just a minute. >> You don't listen. That's the problem. >> Sitting on the car literally. >> No, you're not. You're the one that's on the traffic stop, right? >> 15-year-old daughter. Do you remember that? >> Okay. I don't really care what you tell me what I mean. Turn on. Spread your feet. >> Okay. I just three times now we're ready. >> It's okay. >> Yeah. >> I know. So, let me get this right. Were you the one pulled over? >> Correct. Were you on trap stop? >> Correct. And were you the one sitting here just running back and forth like you think you on the show? I'm standing here by this when they come up to the car having a problem and I backed off the car. Mom, >> how about you be helpful instead of sitting there being the problem all the time? >> I didn't. >> No, you're not. You're going back and forth sitting here trying to talk. >> It's ridiculous. >> I've done nothing wrong here. >> Okay, >> I want to adjust your legs. >> I don't want you in this position. >> It might have seemed like handcuffing her would calm the situation down, but it didn't. Instead, she continued to make things more difficult and escalated the situation further, even engaging in more erratic behavior. >> I DON'T BEND THAT WAY. I DON'T. >> THIS IS THE NORMAL way of late. >> Ma'am. Ma'am, >> we're trying to stop you from hurting yourself. >> All right. >> These are backwards. These are backwards. These are backward. >> I have heart disease, please. We're trying. You're not listening, MAN. >> I DON'T HAVE THE MUSCLE CONTROL. >> WE'RE TRYING TO HELP YOU OUT. ALL RIGHT. THREE, TWO, ONE. There we go. >> Perfect. >> Come over here, please. >> My glasses. Please don't step on the stand by this when they come over. You >> stand right here. >> I can't hold myself up. You don't understand. >> No. >> All right. Are you Jenny? >> No. >> You're not Jenny. >> Yes. YES. >> STOP. >> WELL, YOU are not real bright, huh? >> What the Okay. 3 2 1 I can't I can't >> Yeah, I give you just give random people rides or how do you even know her? >> I've known her for quite a while, buddy. She's sick. >> Do you think she intentionally injured herself to try to present herself more as a victim? Of course, the body camera footage will serve as evidence against that claim. Meanwhile, the process of getting her into the patrol vehicle was also made increasingly difficult by her resistance. >> I can't. >> Ma'am, >> I'm going. I'M TRYING. I CAN'T. >> ALL RIGHT, THEN. WE'LL GET IN, MAMA. HERE. >> LET'S GO AND get up. >> It's this one. IT'S THIS ONE. I CAN'T DO IT. I CAN'T DO IT. YOU'RE PEEING. >> I can't do it. >> I can't. >> Okay. Okay. >> Pick that up. >> I can't. WHAT ARE YOU DOING? THESE ARE BACKWARDS. MY HANDS are backwards. >> Nope. >> She didn't have meth on her. So, is there going to be anything on you down your pants or anything? What? >> I don't know what she had on. What's that got to do with me? >> Wait, you're the driver of the vehicle, right? That's your >> food pantry. I left work with tumble. >> You should know who you're giving a right to. >> A friend. A friend who smokes methamphetamine. What? >> So what? >> The woman was charged with possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest, and obstructing law enforcement. [music] Resistance during a traffic stop only escalates the situation. What starts as a minor violation can quickly turn into serious criminal charges if a person refuses lawful instructions or continues to argue with officers. Cooperation and calm behavior are what prevent the situation from getting worse. Before moving on to the next thief, take a look at this chaotic confrontation. >> Get down on the ground. >> I need a go get my stuff. On the 26th of August 2024, a distress call crackled through the radio. Officers hit the road expecting nothing more than a routine fender bender. What waited for them at the scene was anything but routine. This is what happened through the eyes of those who were there. Obvious >> people were fighting and I rolled up there at the signal for I don't know who was at fault or whatever. Okay. >> Obviously, I'm on for I'll stay with you for a minute. Yeah, >> I was just driving by and taking >> Yeah, >> I know you had a lot going on, but me and the gentleman behind me, we were in the car over in the lane and >> she hit him first. >> Okay. >> He was been over looking at the accident and she came up behind me and just >> Okay. Would you mind hanging out for a second then real quick? We're going to try to get >> right there. I got my daughter with me though, so I can hang up for a little while, but I can give you my card. >> Yeah, that's fine. >> Uh I'm just going to loop around. >> You got to loop around. >> I don't know. >> I couldn't tell you who was at fault or what not. I mean, obviously it's probably Yeah, obviously that and then I don't know if one single one or what whatever. >> I don't know, but she's walking off. >> She is. She's on the other side of the light there. >> Um, >> she's I don't know if she's that far. >> I don't know who's the driver. >> Have something to stop her or what? >> A man stood nearby believed to be related to the suspect. He talked, he explained, he gestured, but nothing he said made any real sense. The question hung in the air like smoke. Was he protecting her or buying her time to disappear? >> You want to She better go get my little cousins. >> Who's driving? >> She was driving. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> But uh she she got to go get my little cousins from from school cuz we supposed to be picking them up right now. We late to pick them up. >> Yeah, she's got to come back cuz it's it's that's for the >> I have to go walk to go get her. >> What What's her What's her What's her first name? >> That's me. >> Destiny. >> Yeah. >> You know Destiny's last is she the owner of the car there? Is Whose car is that? That's >> my sister car. What's Destiny's last name? I'm I'm not even going to try. I'm I literally like that's not >> Can you call her cuz she's got to come back here for the the crash. I got to get her info for the crash in court. >> Is this going to affect me or my record or anything? That's all I want to know. Um >> were you driving? >> No, but you're good. >> She just >> They said you got to come back, bro, before you get in. >> Officers turned their attention to the victim. What she described was brief but brutal. A moment that unfolded in seconds on a busy street yet left a mark that wouldn't be so easy to forget. >> Happened. >> It was she came in. She was from the farm lane. Then like I stopped, let her in. >> This closest lane or the >> she was from the farthest lane. Go starting out and then she cut me off but I just stopped and let her go in and the girl lived out the window and then she kept coming in from this lane and went. >> What do you mean? >> Right. Like she came from the far lane and then came over to the closest. >> Gotcha. And then she like kept riding up even I was like oh that's gonna be close to the thing. So she rode up right up against his car and then tried cutting him off. >> Okay. >> And then really left no option for him if he hit her car and then that she starts getting out immediately gets out of the car screaming you hit my car. You hit my car and then basically attacked him and starts beating him fighting on him. And I mean he really didn't have much choice but to like >> defend >> himself. Came up on side and went up on the curb and it hit us. Oh. >> And then when she went to the front of us, she slammed on bricks. >> Okay. >> So then that's when he was like >> So she went on the the sidewalk over here. >> Oh. >> And she came up the curb and must have went on the sidewalk cuz it was number one. >> 15 minutes later, the suspect returned to the scene. But things didn't get any easier. Her family stepped forward and took over, convinced in their minds that they were the ones who had been wronged. The atmosphere shifted >> and y'all did nothing about it. >> Ma'am, I just got here. >> She got off her. I'm just trying to understand what happened. >> I don't know where she has zero understanding. >> Where's she at? >> Is she coming back here? >> Are you pressing Are you going to arrest him for hitting her? >> Well, yes. Well, I have to get her starting the story. >> Yes or no? >> Well, I don't know. >> It's not a yes or no. We we we only have one side of story. >> You see the marks on her head though and it didn't happen because of the accident. So for you to let somebody hit her, it don't even matter. What's your badge number? >> 52. >> And what's yours? >> You say you just walked up. >> You wasn't here when it happened? >> No. >> Okay. But you were here, correct? >> No, I wasn't here when it happened either. I showed up then she walked off. >> His badge is number 52. >> And who are you? >> I'm the parent and I'm also the owner of this car. >> Oh, okay. Perfect. >> So I'm both. Do you have your uh ID so I can send you information from the crash report? >> You can do this right here. I wasn't driving. >> Well, there's two people attached to the car. So, >> I'm an >> I'mress. >> I'm the first. >> Well, that's my thing. Like, she left for her safety, y'all. >> No, she didn't. No, she No, she didn't. >> Don't let her get by. >> She's on the She's on the way back. >> Okay. She's right here. She's coming. >> Oh, perfect. All right. With her family surrounding her, she finally stepped forward, standing face to face with the officers. Bold as ever, her mouth told one story, the evidence told another. And between those two versions, only one was the truth. >> I was trying to go get them, but they're already at another school. >> Got to go get him. >> Okay. >> But he hit me. >> Well, what brother? What happened with the traffic crash? >> That's what happened. He hit me. >> Okay. >> He hit the back of me. >> Where? Can you show me where by chance? He had a big truck. They >> see us in the back. I don't know where. We just pulled over. He was in the room. >> A little chop. It was like a little >> It was literally nothing at all. >> But that's it. Yo. >> Okay. >> Yo, >> damn, bro. >> Supposedly the officer that saw was off duty. So, >> got my phone so I can take some some pictures real quick. That is it. I just go get my >> I call my dad and I call my mom when it happened. >> Mark is daddy on the phone. >> Yeah, me right now. >> I called photography. >> Yes, sir. >> Then the officer spoke just one short sentence, but in that single moment, everything fell apart. What happened next was something no one saw coming. >> I'm just let just let you know what's going on. Right. So, I have three witnesses who were involved in the crash. >> Right. >> And who hit who? >> Who hit who? >> To find out here. >> Oh, okay. But you arresting one person. >> So, I'm just I have three witnesses who weren't involved with either one of y'all. >> That'll be part of Not him. No. >> No, ma'am. >> Who else was there? There was nobody else there. There was there were three people over and gave me their information and so that'll be on the police department for you. >> They can come over. >> Well investigation. >> So right now I'm going to ask you to put your hand supervisor. >> So you put your hands behind your back and you put your handcuff and push in the back of the car. >> Get that on the ground. >> I need to stop on the ground. I >> already said that. >> Come on. What are you going to do? Stop. >> Stop. >> Three different witnesses that >> stop. Just stop. Just stop. >> Right there in the middle of the street in front of everyone, she refused to stop. Even as officers moved in, nothing came easy because it wasn't just her they were dealing with. Her family made sure of that. >> You making it worse. >> Mom, you're okay. Stand my stuff. Stand up. >> Listen. Get my >> stand up and get in the car. You can get another charge. >> Okay. >> I got it right here. >> No. My car and everything. >> My girlfriend is coming too. >> Okay. But you got to get up. >> Get up. You have a damn car. >> Okay. Get up. >> Like, okay, just get up. You don't have nothing in no. >> They got it all. >> Yeah, he got it in his hand. >> The money car. >> Yes. >> Coming. >> All right. >> Car up on that >> car right now. >> All you got to do is get in the car. We'll let you go. >> You don't have to be in my hand like that, [ __ ] >> I do because you're not listening. >> All right. You're going to catch another charge. Okay. You want another charge for resistance? Get in the car. We'll let you speak. We'll let you call me. >> BUT YOU'RE NOT. YOU'RE BITTING MY HAND. >> YOU'RE NOT LISTENING. >> YOU GOT TO GET IN THE CAR. >> I will, but you're not. You're beating my hand. Stand up. >> Get in the car. >> Just stand up. >> Get in the car. >> Just get in the car. >> Where is she? >> Just get in the car. Don't follow that other >> The woman was charged with battery and resisting arrest. [music] Trying to run from responsibility only made the situation worse. When multiple witnesses and evidence pointed to the truth, denial and resistance only led to even more serious consequences. >> Yeah, she's got baby clothes and things and stuff. >> Yeah, dude. I went to Casey's now. What is going on today? For what? >> My daughter. >> Okay. How's your daughter? >> On June 9th, 2025, police received a report from a Walmart store about a woman committing theft. Officers quickly arrived at the loss prevention office. This was what police discovered through surveillance footage. It's been sealed liquor and a bag. She also she put pregnancy test in her bag and then went to the bathroom and used it. >> Oh. >> Came out. Went to the bathroom and used it. >> Yeah. >> Where's she at now? Still the bathroom. >> We assume that's what she did with that. But no, she's towards the front now. >> What she look like? >> A white girl with a brown jacket and like she is. Yeah. >> What? Uh liquor. >> She put in a bag. Watch. >> Yeah, that's how she scanned. Yeah, she's got baby clothes and stuff in her. >> Yeah, dude. I went to Casey's now. We found her like >> right where the call originated from. >> Yep. >> All right. All right. You guys going any >> ma'am? It was clear the woman ignored the loss prevention staff's attempts to stop her, continuing to walk away, forcing police to intervene and stop her in a more tense manner. >> Stop right now. >> What? >> Behind your back. >> What? >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Stop resisting. >> I'm not resisting. >> Then relax and put your hand behind your back. >> I'm not resisting. Can I PUT THIS? >> STOP MOVING your arm. >> Stop. You're going to get charged with resisting. >> I'm not resisting. I'm promise. I'm just trying. That is literally the definition of resisting. I'm >> just trying No, I'm sorry. I'm just trying to put this in my pocket. Can I put my my wallet or my card in my pocket? >> No, we need to cuff you. So, just chill out. >> Stop moving. >> Stop pulling away. >> I'm not pulling away. >> You were. >> I'm not. I get my phone. >> No, don't reach for anything. >> What are we doing here? >> You got a key? >> Yeah, I need it. >> All right. Go back in here. All right. So, before anything else goes further, I have to read you this. Go ahead and sit down. It's going to be a minute. Take a seat. >> I'm okay. >> Okay. Before we ask any question. >> Her demeanor subtly suggested she acknowledged the situation. Yet, the underlying reason behind her actions appeared even more irresponsible. >> Yeah. >> What is going on today? For what? >> My daughter. >> Okay. How old is your daughter? >> 10 months. >> What were you getting for? >> Okay. So, what's in this bag? >> In my bag. >> Okay. So, then where is the formula and everything else? Why is it in your other bag? >> Because I'm an idiot. >> Did you steal it? >> I mean, >> I mean, typically when people shop, they put items in a bag such as this. So, did you steal it or did you not? >> I was trying to. I didn't see how >> Well, you did. the instant you walk past the final point of sale, which in this case would be that selfch checkckout register, that's retail theft. So, you don't have to leave the building. So, did you steal? I mean, we've already cut to the chase. It's in a bag that's obviously not a normal bag items are placed in. They're not meant to be comfortable. >> It's cutting off my circulation. >> And when we saying stop, stop, most people say, "Oh, what's going on?" You just tried to ignore us. So, did you steal or nothing? I mean, we've already gone this far. I need you to verbally tell me yes or no. >> Well, you already know. >> You what? >> So, you already know. So, >> well, I I'd appreciate it if you've been honest with me up to this point. Why don't we just cut to the chase? Yep. To what? >> You got items in here that aren't paid for. Correct. >> I do. Yeah. >> Yep. To what? >> What >> you said? >> So, you stole. Okay. >> Because the woman had concealed merchandise in her jacket pockets and pants in multiple places on her body, police proceeded to review the surveillance footage to determine exactly which items had been taken. First one is her concealing this pregnancy test. See little white box >> and then it disappears when she's in her bag. >> And then uh she'll conceal the other items. >> So what all in the bag that's not paid for? Ma'am, >> what all is in the bag that's not paid for? >> I don't know. Nothing went in my small pocket, but I have a heart in there. Well, I'm not talking about the small pocket. I'm talking about the book bag. So, you don't know what's in there? >> Well, I just said I have a carton there and I have food in there. >> Okay. Did you pay for the food? >> Yes, I brought to my house. >> Okay. Are there going to be pregnancy tests or brought this from your house? >> Okay. So, then how did the clothes, the iPhone case, >> and the other items get in there? They disappeared. >> Hey babe, what's up? >> I'll call you after. >> Is your ID in this bag? Cuz I need that. No, don't have a roomie. >> Hey, what's your name? And if you lie to me about your name, I'm going to charge you with obstructing. >> Where's that at? >> Okay. Can you unlock it and >> give me that screen? >> Let me know. >> So, we we got two options here. [clears throat] >> Be able to confirm your identity. >> During the search, officers found a substance suspected to be cannabis in her possession. But since she was not of legal age to use it, they needed to question her further about its origin. Okay. >> Was this in your bag? >> Yes. I got that like 3 days ago. >> Okay. Where was your bag at when you drove here? >> In my car. >> Like where at in your car though? >> In the back seat. >> So I will address this later. >> I wasn't driving if that's what you're asking. >> How'd you get here then? >> Um my friends. >> Your friends just dropped you off and there's in the parking lot or >> they're in the parking lot. >> Okay. Why didn't they come in and shop with you? >> They didn't want to. >> Okay. So, if I go out and talk to them, are they going to tell me that you told them something along the lines of, "Hey, drop me off. I'm going to take so and so items and then come back." >> I didn't I didn't plan on stealing anything. >> Okay. Well, that's a pretty fair amount of items to accidentally scan. >> Yeah. >> Thus, the situation was quickly resolved thanks to the suspect's cooperation, and her offense was determined at that point. >> So, I'm going to explain this to you. I'm going to have you sign it once you're out of cops. Okay? So, you're getting issued an NTA for the offense of retail theft. So, you're going to have a mandatory court date on July 15th at 9:00 a.m. >> Okay. Nope. Taswell County and Peac. >> So, if you don't go to that, they're probably going to issue a warrant. I'm cutting you a massive break because you're 20. I could also do the resisting. I could also do an ordinance violation >> for the possession of the cannabis. I'm taking >> I didn't even know that's a thing. >> You have to be 21. It's like alcohol. So, I mean, you have to be 20 to use it. >> I know. It's just it helps my mental >> I gota do you have a Are you prescribed it? Do you have a medical card? >> But no, but >> instead of giving you all these other ordinance violations and resisting charge, I'm just going to take that because you're not allowed to have it. You're still going to have this court date, but in the future, just don't. If somebody says stop and it's the police, you better stop. We don't just do that to random people. We always have a reason. All right, ma'am. So, I got to take that picture everybody I was telling you about. >> All right. I'm doing your left hand first. >> Okay. >> Once this comes off, you're putting your left hand on top of your head. Okay. >> Can I put my card in my pocket? >> The woman was charged with retail theft and issued a notice to appear in court. Additionally, the suspected cannabis in her possession was confiscated due to underage possession. Though no further charges were pursued, her actions showed that ignoring warnings and making impulsive decisions could quickly escalate a minor mistake into legal consequences that followed her long after the moment passed. Worse, what began as a simple shoplifting incident spiraled into a chaotic situation. >> Pay for everything. You didn't pay for that. >> I have. >> Let's go. I paid for you. Hey, stop. On the 9th of May 2025, police received a call from Walmart regarding a theft that had already taken place. The suspects were believed to be two men who attempted to stuff merchandise into backpacks without any intention of paying. At that time, officers waited for the moment the suspects left so they could move in. >> Hello. >> Yeah. asset protection. You have merchandise. >> No, it's in your bag. Let's go. >> I paid for. >> Let's go. >> We know where it is. We saw you do it. >> It's in your bag. Come on. >> We saw you do it. It's on camera. >> No, it's too late now. >> No, that's great. It's too late now. >> Should have paid for it when you had the chance. >> Okay. >> I paid for the receipts for everything. >> No, let's go in here. Go ahead. Let's go in here. >> No, I'm just saying we can look at >> That's awesome. >> Okay, >> we're going to go in there for the stuff that you put in your bag. >> No, look. I'm serious. There's >> Look, [clears throat] we're going to do this in here. >> Look, everything's on this. >> This is everything on >> We're going to go in here. >> Why do I have to go? >> Because I'm telling you, >> if that's not on there, obviously I'd pay for everything. You didn't pay for that. >> I have. >> Let's go. The suspect tried to explain and clear his name, but what he needed to do was follow the officers and handle everything calmly. But immediately afterward, everything went in the opposite direction. >> You did not. >> Hey, stop. Stop. Hey. Hey. No. Hey, stop right now. >> Yo. Hey, put your hands behind your back. >> Hey, I have my little brother in the car. >> No, I have my little brother in the car. No. No. I'm sorry. I go in here. I just have my little brother. I'm going in here. I was just letting you know I'm my little brother. >> I'm my little brother in car. That's it. But I will go in here with you. I'm willing go. >> You need to stop now. Are you willing to take? [clears throat] >> I'm sorry. >> Put your hands behind your back now. >> Okay. Hey, sir. Stop. >> Hey, STOP. HEY, STOP. HEY, >> I went I went to put my hands behind my back. >> Get on the ground now. Get on the ground now. On the ground now. >> All the way on the ground. >> Do not move. >> You are under arrest for obstruction. Where did he go? >> The officers had to attempt to detain both individuals at the same time, which created a difficult situation, allowing the man in the gray shirt to escape amid the confusion. He was later brought back into the loss prevention area. His name? >> His name is Jam Brandon Tracy, sir. It's my husband. I'm Benj. So I don't know how that stand, but I hope like I hope nothing like I have haven't like where like to pay for that like we're just trying to pay for >> and look now instead he's going to have a warrant out for his arrest because he didn't stop. I told him he's not free to leave >> and I was I was just trying to get him to calm down. I was trying to see if he could stop. I feel like if I could like at least hope we calm down, it would have been more workable and reasonable and I understand like my my SL interference was probably not the best choice but I wasn't afraid to have anything get any further than it. >> Let's just start with your name. >> Benjamin, >> do you have your ID on you? >> I think he had he had it. >> Is it in that wallet? >> Uh wallet? I don't have a wallet, sir, but it's >> No, you have a wallet right there. >> Uh it should be should be. If not, it's it's probably in mine in my pockets and you're welcome to take a look. >> Does he have warrants? Like, why did he run? >> No, he just [clears throat] >> he's we've never had really the greatest interaction with you gentlemen before. But like it just just naturally just >> all right. >> That was his explanation for his earlier chaotic behavior. However, when confronted with the reason he had been stopped in the first place, he no longer seemed willing to deny it. The reason that I'm arresting you is because when I was trying to arrest him, you got in my way and were pushing me out of the way. That's obstruction. And I told you to stop or you will be arrested, right? And you kept doing it. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. So, that's why you're under arrest right now. Yes, sir. >> All right. I'm going to go write you a citation. >> Yes, sir. >> And I'm going to see if Jamon is who you say he is. >> Yes, he is. He is. >> Yes. >> He's got a tattoo on his radiator. He's >> I can tell you all the tatto. >> All right. All right. I'll be right back. >> It's jamming. >> Yeah, I'll let you talk to him. See if he comes back. >> Say anything else. I'm hang dropped again. >> Do you know his phone number? >> Uh 2538. Hold on one second. 7695. Yes, sir. My kids [laughter] want to show the voicemail. >> Shortly after, the man was released with a court date along with his partner. Both suspects were charged with shoplifting and resisting arrest. Trying to justify wrongdoing or resist officers only escalates a situation that could otherwise be resolved calmly, turning a minor theft case into additional charges, like resisting arrest. >> [music] >> Next, this woman pushed her luck by trying the same thing four different times. >> Right here. You're going to go back there and we're going to talk. We're not going to stand. I mean, you're this. >> Wait, can I just pay for it? Please. Can I pay [music] for it? Please. I can pay. Please. Please. Please. Can I pay for it? Please. >> On the 24th of May, 2026, officers received a report from Target about a repeat shoplifting suspect who had returned and was committing the same [music] offense again. When they approached her, she still tried to remain calm, as if that could hide what she had done. >> It's going to be truthful. Go back in the store. Okay. Right here. Right here. >> Okay. You're going to go back there and we're going to talk. >> We're not going to stand because we're telling you go to the office. Okay. All right. We're trying to be cool with you. >> So, we can talk right here. We're going to go to all four. We're going >> or we can put you in your head. >> I appreciate If there's if there if there is stuff in there that's stolen, it's it's good to be truthful about it now. Okay. Or it'll make it worse. All right. You might not be able to work with you or something. >> All right. >> Okay. >> I'll let you talk to them if you want. I don't know. I don't know how to do this. >> You start to >> Okay. In your purse, there's molecule stuff. >> Piercing products. >> Okay. So, I'm not looking in your purse. So, I'll take it out. >> No, you take it out. You put it in there. >> Grab your purse, take it out, and give it back to them. It's not yours. >> All of those were since um the >> She then returned the stolen merchandise. If you thought that meant she was remorseful, it didn't. Drawing from her past experience, she showed no sign of embarrassment and instead immediately began [music] pleading for another chance. >> 19. >> Okay. >> These are the ones that go back. >> I'm going to go to jail. >> I mean, yeah. >> Wait, can I just pay for it? Please. Can I pay for it? Please. I can pay. Please. Please. Please. Can I pay for it? Please. Please. Can I pay for it? I'm not going to call if I get my phone though. >> You are going to >> knock it off. >> I just gave you the phone. Why you doing all this? >> Because you're pulling it back away from me. Turn around. >> Wait. Okay. Can I talk? >> Turn around now. Okay. Hold on. Let's not touch this. Put your hands behind your back. Okay. Before we get resistance, you understand me? >> Okay. You don't got to be so rough. My head's behind my back. >> Okay. I just said All right. This seems like an ongoing issue. The [ __ ] needs to stop. >> Thank God. You pay for the stuff. >> No. Especially when you have multiple priors of this stuff. The people are just going to give you chances of buy stuff. >> What's today? >> Sunday. >> Sunday. >> Do you have anything in your pockets? Any other merchandise that I need to know about? Okay. >> Okay. >> Take a seat. >> Her attempt to deny everything quickly fell apart because she assumed the officers knew nothing about her previous thefts. She was mistaken. Moments later, they laid out the full record of her past incidents. >> How you going to tell me? >> Okay, they have you on. >> They have technology. I'm saying got me on camera though. But I never sto They're able to track every item that comes in and out of the store and if it's in your possession walking out with it, it rings it up as sto >> you pull all my stuff together. >> Do what? Sorry. >> All my stuff together. Everything that's um in that basket. >> Does any of this purchase in that bag? I just paid for it. Purchase >> all this. Okay. So, >> I'm taking all my stuff stay together and that bag in there. I check there too. Ain't nothing in that bag. She can check if she wants. We'll match it up with her sheets real quick and then and if if it's purchase and purchase. >> No, I'm talking about the Xfinity bag. I'm giving her permission to check the Exfinity bag. Nothing in the Xinity bag. >> I just brought that in from Xfinity. I just brought a Wi-Fi box. She didn't >> Okay. You told me there's no nothing. >> I'm permission to check. I didn't put [ __ ] in there. >> I mean, if this is from X-Men, it's not here from here anyway. So, I can't even >> I understand there. I just make sure there's no Target stuff in here. >> You come out vaping my first suit, bro. Not eat it. [snorts] >> Where you staying? >> All righty. Um, >> where's all that stuff? >> Britney's driving total possible as well. >> I'm not worried about that right now. Sorry. 26. >> The woman showed no sign of accepting responsibility for what she had done. At that point, the officers carefully explained the situation to make it clear that nothing she said would change the outcome. >> Once you walk past the last point of sale, it's over. You walk past those registers, there's no chance to pay for it anymore. >> You committed a retail. >> If you would have just sat there, >> it's still on. It's still on. >> It's common sense. You're You know what's right and wrong. Okay. It's a learning experience, but obviously you have a [ __ ] ton of fires of doing this. It's just going to only get worse and they obviously know who you are, so it's not really >> Just not let me come in your store. >> You want to trespass? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> Trespassing. >> I know you're formally trespassing. You come back, go to jail for that. Okay, >> I hear you. I know what trespassing is. >> I still got to say, >> you know how many people come in and out of here and how hard it is to watch all the people that come in here? >> No, >> they're not. >> Cuz she need a better job. She not a secret shopper. I watched her the whole time watching me. >> Thousands of people walk in and out. She didn't lose her two days ago. >> What's your What's your first name? >> What was the total for the other cases? >> I think you told us >> this is today online. >> Okay. >> I have these ones. These are all three that were filed. In the end, the woman was charged with three counts of felony retail theft and one count of retail theft. Repeated offenses leave a trail of evidence that becomes harder to escape over time. Modern retailers can connect separate incidents through surveillance and inventory tracking, making it far more difficult for repeat offenders to avoid accountability. Taking responsibility early is far more productive [music] than denying evidence that has already been documented. Worse still, this woman seemed to believe she was some kind of influential figure. Can I hear you? >> Can you hear me? >> You're slacking off. You better get to work, DINA. WHY ARE YOU AT WORK, DINA? You need to go to work, Dina. >> On the 2nd of July, 2024, officers approached a woman named Diana after receiving reports of her disruptive behavior inside a store. At that point, she was even accused of using merchandise that she had not yet paid for. This was what unfolded next. Hey, >> stop. Do you remember talking to me before? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You're detained right now. Okay. Um, are those >> those your shoes? >> You hear me? >> Can I hear you? >> Yeah. >> Can you hear me? >> Mhm. >> Can you hear me? >> Let's walk outside. Okay. >> I just want some catfish. >> Where's Lance? >> Lance, go. >> I just want some catfish. >> Can I get some catfish, please? >> What happened to your feet? >> Can I get some catfish, officer? Hey sir, did you say these are y'all's shoes? >> Yeah, you can check them off. >> Her behavior clearly showed signs of instability. [music] However, she still appeared aware of her actions as she soon created further chaos by arrogantly relying on what she believed were her rights as a citizen. >> Hey, come this way. >> Why are you touching me? Why is he touching me? >> I don't need >> What did I just pass? What threshold did I just cross over? >> Listen, you have their shoes on. >> The judge. >> Were these stolen earlier? >> NO. >> THE JUDGE. HEY, STOP. HEY, STOP. STOP. STOP. STOP. 13. >> Pineapple wins. >> Hey, stop. >> Pineapple wins. >> Do you want to press chargers for all that goods? Okay. Hey, what did you take? Dina, are you Dina? Do you have drugs on you? >> Did you take something? >> No. >> Are you sure? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Cuz you seem intoxicated on the substance to me. I know you uh have done cocaine before. Is that what you did again? Okay. Uh I'm going to go out here. I have another officer coming. >> Um can you I guess verify these shoes. Can you find where that tag is? Yeah, I'll go. >> Okay. >> She was then escorted to the patrol car and things appeared to become much easier as she seemed to have finally calmed down. You >> can sit right here. You don't have to get all the way in, but that way you're not leaning on a hot car. Okay. Do you have any weapons on you? >> No. >> Can I feel on the back side right there? >> No. >> Well, I don't want your hands to be near it. Okay. I'm just patting you at the back of my head >> if you had anything on you. >> Okay. What is What is going on? Um >> he's not feeling right. >> Okay. Why? >> Because [screaming] >> Okay. Did you uh drink today or take any drugs? Are you having any sort of medical condition? Can you look at me? Okay. I I'm worried about your your safety. Okay. SO, [screaming] >> I'm hot. >> Okay. >> I'm going to die of dehydration. Can I search your bag? >> Yeah. Okay. Can >> I have one of the drinks in it, please? >> If it is sealed, maybe. Unless you just stole it from HB. >> Did you steal them from HB? >> I accidentally did. >> Okay. Well, then I'm not going to let you have that because you stole them. >> Okay. And that wouldn't be right for me to allow you to steal the property. >> What about these shoes here? What's >> that white stuff on my shoes? >> This is part of the cake that you were throwing all over the ground. Is it? Can I lick it? >> No. >> It turned out she had not calmed down at all. She had merely taken a brief break between her irrational outbursts. Shortly afterward, officers began gathering statements from the store employees about the incident. >> When I was on the phone with dispatch, uh, they said, "Do you want to see?" I said, "She hasn't done anything." And we warned her and she stopped. I said, and then they hung up. And right when they hung up, then she stole the that stuff. And then he caught him outside, but I hadn't gotten to talk to him yet. So he just did the well check and let him go. And then by the time he came to me I was like oh they stole a whole bunch of stuff. Crap. Like they didn't tell me that. What you call it? I said yeah. They already >> I got you. No worries. Uh do you have your ID? >> Yeah. >> By this point the woman had been taken to the police station. She seemingly anticipated that footage of the incident would end up on YouTube someday. So she began introducing herself in a bizarre attempt. >> I work for my name is Dina. I am under their surveillance 24 hours. Seven 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I am under the surveillance of Texas, USA. You looking over here? >> Hi. >> Hi, [ __ ] I WAS FEELING SO [ __ ] BORED AND Y'ALL DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH yourselves with yourselves when you're so bored that you want me to go through all of this [ __ ] so you CAN WATCH. SEE YOU NEXT. YOU'RE A cotton 90. >> I don't take letters away. I add letters. I JUST ADDED 55 N. >> I CAN SAY WHATEVER WORD I WANT TO SAY BECAUSE [screaming] I AM DINA JUN AND YOU DON'T [ __ ] KNOW ME. >> DINA, sit down. >> Girl, what are you stealing for? >> Girl, you know I just be playing all the time. Don't you ever be playing? >> No. No. Have you been here before? >> No. She has. >> Finally, the woman was charged with theft, criminal mischief, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and failure to appear. Every decision you make in public can quickly escalate a minor situation into multiple criminal charges. Taking responsibility early is always better than creating more problems that only make the outcome worse. >> Crime. That's the only reason I'm >> Yes. That's why the police are talking to you. >> I know. I walked in, the dismantle was uh hit for my um trail mixing because I told her I didn't have any money to afford it. >> On October 5th, 20125, police received a report of a theft at a store with the suspect being a woman who fled immediately afterward. When officers approached the woman casually walking on a nearby street, she appeared completely confused upon encountering the police. >> Hi, good morning, Orlando Police. Hello. How are you? >> Where you coming from today? >> Huh? Where'd you come from? Before I saw you right here on the street. >> On the street? >> Yeah. Right here. You were walking on the street. I was right here on the street. I'm saying, "Where were you walking from?" Were you coming? >> Where was I walking from? >> Yeah. >> Give me the description of somebody that committed a crime. That's why Okay. >> Publix. >> Oh, Publix. Okay. Hold on one second. Okay. >> Just waiting on a photograph to come up. But you fit the the clothing description of somebody. >> What did I do? >> That that committed a crime. That's the only reason I'm >> Yes. That's why the police are talking to you. >> What do I do? >> Well, I'll explain everything to you once. If if you're not the person, then you're going to go on your way. If you are the person that you meet detained. >> Yeah. Somebody gave your description. Okay. >> Oh, what did I do? >> I will explain that when it's important for them. >> Hi. Hey. >> So, just to give you an idea what's going on. Okay. >> I got a call from the knowledge general. You just happened to I'm not saying it was you. >> No, I was trying to maroon colored shirt on it. That's all. >> Yeah. Maroon colored shirt and black and black pants. I was the first we got >> we know it's not you. You're about your day. We're not >> I was not at the Dollar General. I'm just We're just doing an investigation. That's all. >> The dollar There's no Dollar General here. >> Dollar General. >> Yeah. Right from where you came from. Right down the street. >> It's all right. Just give us >> No, that's the DMI something. >> Yeah. >> Dollar General. >> Oh, that's Dollar Tree. >> Yeah. >> The woman denied all allegations, claiming she had stolen nothing. But the story she later told raised suspicion. Just hang out. What's your first name? >> My first name is Amara. >> Amara. Thank you so much. I appreciate your cooperation. >> Yeah. Yeah. Um I walked in that this man said he was going to uh pay for my um trail mix cuz I told him I didn't have any money to afford it. >> So he let me know that he was going to pay. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Cuz I was just letting him know, you know, I'm a little bit hungry. >> Okay. >> And he was like, "Oh, that's fine. I got you. I'll just give us one minute." >> Yeah, that's okay. >> Where are you from? Um, you know, I'm receiving. >> Yeah. So, you left. >> You just happen to have the same shirt on that. >> No, I didn't take anything. >> No. >> All right. >> Yeah. >> Get those proteins in. >> And Sean, I was telling him I just went for first press. I didn't see anybody down that way. You're good. You're good. Appreciate it. >> Yeah. You didn't have your ID on you just to say >> No, actually I don't have any uh photo ID or anything. I'm trying to get uh working >> because actually I'm homeless at the time. So I I um I went to the identify place to see if I could get a new ID. I want to start working soon. >> Okay. Are you doing yourself? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. So, you're saying you >> Yeah, I didn't get anything to drink. >> I I got like unfortunately just there might have been someone that had a maroon shirt on that walked in. >> No, this is burgundy. >> She claimed that an unknown man had paid for her items and she simply left. But was that explanation truly credible when even her identity raised red flags during the police investigation? >> A >> Yeah. An awesome >> Brian. B R Y A N. >> Perfect. >> I was born December >> 99. Good year. Good year. My 2K never happened. >> Tele. >> Yeah. I don't have anything to drink. >> Okay. Like I said, I misunderstand. >> Can we go back there or >> Okay. because I didn't take anything to drink. >> Just give us an hour away. If it's not you, you're on your way to bigger, better things. >> Okay. Okay. [laughter] Bravo 127. >> Can you just confirm that's how you spell your name? >> Yeah. I M A R A >> I M A R A. >> I >> Yeah. Just want to confirm that first. Oh, left and right for the Yankees. >> I think the first name spelled wrong. >> Okay, spell your first name. >> Yeah. I >> I >> M >> A >> R A. >> Yes. Amara. >> In reality, the woman insisted that she had no money. Yet, why had she entered the shopping area without buying anything at all? And her history of wandering from place to place while being homeless seemed even more bizarre. How long you been in Orlando for? >> Uh for like 3 days. >> 3 days away. >> No, I was in Fort Lauderdale. I got had got uh transported to Fort Lauderdale. So I was in Fort Lauderdale for a little bit, but I wanted to come to Orlando. >> I don't know cuz I never been to Orlando. >> Okay. >> So I never got a chance to see it. >> Awesome. Welcome. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> It's exciting. >> It's a good time of year, too. It's starting to cool down. Yeah, winter is is coming up. >> Well, we didn't say winter. Winter's still like 3 or 4 months away. >> Oh, >> yeah. I don't have anything to drink in my backpack. You get I have anything to train. >> Where's your ID out? >> No, my ID is actually out of Maryland, but I I don't have enough money to get another one. >> You got to hear me out on this, right? Yeah. >> You've been really cool with me and I'm trying to be cool with you, but I understand something. >> I asked you, is your idea out of Florida? And you said yes. >> Yeah. My ID is out of Florida. Yeah. >> Out of Florida. >> Out of Florida. >> Outside is like what state? So Maryland. >> Oh, yeah. Maryland. >> Maryland. Okay. All right. >> No, but I haven't lived in Maryland in years. >> I know. But that's the last place you had to go. >> Yeah. But but no, I mean it's it's really hard to get money nowadays. So >> I as soon as I get like you know enough money I'll get my state I need my Florida state I need >> you don't need >> everything about the woman was riddled with suspicion so police soon decided to detain her and take her to the station to clarify the matter >> yeah sure of course >> let me hold this for you thank you >> oh I'm getting arrested >> that's correct >> okay >> let me rephrase >> you can check my math sir I don't have it >> I don't have the the juice or No. Okay. Oh, no. No. No. build that in. >> Yeah. Yeah. Okay. >> Nothing else on your right that we need to know about, >> huh? Huh? Nothing on you that we need to know about? >> Oh, no. That's just my headband. I'm just going to do my hair today. But >> at the jail, she admitted everything and was charged with shoplifting. Her case showed how a web of lies only made things worse, turning a simple situation into serious consequences that could have been avoided with honesty. Worse still, these shoplifterss made everything far worse. All because they believe the donated items were theirs to take. I think I I bumped him with the car and then he got mad because that and punched her in the her rear view. >> It's for donation. I didn't even Oh, that is for donation. >> Okay, but you didn't have it. >> On the 9th of June 2026, officers responded to a reported vehicle collision. The collision was believed to have been caused by a man attempting to block the escape of shoplifterss who had stolen from a store in Key West. Here's what happened when officers arrived at the scene. [snorts] >> All right. I work here. My boss works here. Okay. >> I was sitting inside of the store. >> All right. I'm Can I have you step over here on the table? >> Absolutely. Absolutely. >> Who? >> Her friends forced her to back up cuz we were trying to get them to stop. Okay. I'll talk to you when I >> Let me talk with you guys separately. >> I accidentally bumped him with the car, but he punched the window out. >> All right. Come here. >> Yeah. Absolutely. I know. >> So, you're driving this car. >> Okay. So, you're driving. >> Hello. You're driving this car? >> Yeah, I was driving my friend's car and I just went to She I was waiting outside for them and she came out. She said, "Let's go." But I guess she was arguing with this guy when I went to go reverse. Like I think I bumped him but then he >> Okay. >> He got mad cuz I bumped him and then he punched her window out. >> Okay. So you bump him possibly going in reverse. >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. >> Everything was completely chaotic. Everyone claimed to be the victim. The [music] woman accused the man of smashing her car window, but it seemed the man had a reason behind the whole story. >> I parked the truck. That car been there. Uh, so I'm inside, you know, helping my guy, whatever, whatever. So, I'm sitting in the store sitting down. There's people by the door. I see those two ladies. I said, "Excuse me, wait one moment. You did you pay for your stuff?" "No, this is No. No. Can I see your bag?" "No." Started booking. They jump in the car. Me and my boss. My boss says, "Get their license. Get their license." So, I walked past the car. The car didn't start. You could hear the car trying to start. >> Uhhuh. >> But she couldn't get it in time. So, I got behind it trying to take the photo. >> Stop talking over here. >> I tried taking a photo. As you can see, I was behind the vehicle. And there's my boss for evidence showing them that we were trying to get their attention. >> She refused to roll down the window. They were trying to leave with stood the items. If you were donating, why are you rushing inside of a car and trying to pull off if you're donating? That's the part I don't understand. >> So then you're standing behind. >> I I I stand behind to get >> And how fast was she coming back when she got you? Like >> she stomped on it. >> Okay. >> At first she was nothing. And then she came back. >> Okay. >> And we made contact and I don't know how I got out of it. I think my boss pulled me. Um, and that's when I ran over to her window. >> Meanwhile, another officer approached a witness who was also the store manager to find out who the real victim was. >> Walk out to the car, gets a motor running, and the other girls run out the run out the door with items without pay. So, Cedric's all like, "Wait, wait, wait." And they go to get in the car. Cedric runs behind the car to get a picture of the license plate. And I'm standing out the window telling the lady, "Stop. You need to stop. I need to talk to you. you need to stop. And they hit him with their car. >> They hit who? >> Cedric. >> Okay. >> So, Cedric got mad cuz they they hit him and so he gashed her window. And who was >> I didn't mean to do this. >> Okay. All right. It was these two. >> I'm the blondest driving. The lady in the blue and white pants >> and her. >> No, she's my employee. >> She's your employee. Okay. >> All right. Yeah. >> The other two girls in the store, I guess, are the ones that ran out with bags full stuff. And then they said, "Oh, we we brought the stiffer to donate." What other two girls >> that are in the vehicle? >> That are in the vehicle. Okay. Um, >> she was the get one driver. >> Sure. Sure. Do you have a ID? >> Me? >> Yeah. >> Just for the report. >> Those two ladies are the the the corporate. She's innocent. It wasn't her fault. The girls set her up because she she had no idea they were going to steal. She had no idea. >> Was in there with them or she was in the car? >> She was in the car the whole time. >> Okay. Then the girls rushed in there and that's why she's panicked because of her friend. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Or whatever. I'm not sure if that's >> You don't know what happened inside the car, but they rush and try to get >> Yes, sir. Got >> back with the suspects, the woman had no idea her shoplifting had already been discovered. She continued to cling to the vehicle collision, trying to portray herself as the one who needed help while ignoring the crime she had committed. >> Good. You didn't see anything? I I was outside. I was waiting for them. >> So, who was struck by a car? Someone said, >> "Um, I bumped I I did that." He wasn't struck. I kind of I kind of bumped him. >> Were you in this vehicle? >> Yeah, I was driving. I was waiting for them and she's like, "Doulie, you drive." So, I said, "Okay." >> Okay. >> And then, but I guess they were he went to the to see her tag or something. I didn't know that he went back to get her tag to get her tag. So, I reversed. I I I think I I bumped him with the car and then he got mad because and punched her rear view out and that's why his hand is bloody. >> So you were backing out of this spot right here and he ran behind you. >> Yeah. >> And then you bumped him and then he punched the rear view. >> Yeah. And then he punched the rear view. >> The rear view or the side view? >> The the driver's rear view. The side rear view. I mean right here. >> Right here. So on this side. Okay. >> That white one right there. >> Yep. Okay. I got you. >> But I I I swear I didn't mean to bump him. He said he's okay. The boss lady is inside. Um, >> she's one of the employees. This is the boss lady, but I'm trying to see if Wright's taking primary or you taking primary. >> Yeah, cuz retail. >> Yeah. So, I don't That's what I don't That's what he's saying. He's saying that they >> It's a retail gone bad and they were trying to get away. He was trying to take a picture of the car and he got hit by the car. So, they're working the crash aspect. >> Okay. Do they know what was taken? >> No, because they haven't seen the bags yet. They know that two bags of stuff were taken, but they don't they can't itemize it until they see >> Well, there's the >> Did they come in with anything or >> No, no, they didn't come in with anything and they just ran out with stuff. It's like one girl got in the car to drive him. Well, they ran out and hopped in and I ran out this door. I'm like, "Wait, you need to wait. I need to talk to you. Wait, he's behind your car. Wait, wait, wait." And she just punched on the gas and hit him. >> Okay. >> So, even the collision was caused by the suspects trying to flee. But their crimes didn't end there. As officers approached their vehicle, they detected a suspicious smell coming from inside. >> Do you have your IDs with you? >> Yeah. In the car? >> Marijuana in the car. Huh? >> No, I don't have marijuana. >> I can smell it. >> No. No. Listen, I have a marijuana card. Yes, sir. I did. >> I can smell the marijuana as soon as that door open. Either way. >> Can you run me? So, what what happened? The three of you guys here, you guys all came here together? >> Yeah. >> And then did she So, she stays in the car? >> No, she went shopping. >> She went shopping where? inside the Salvation Army. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And then you and >> Carla >> Carla also were inside shopping. >> Yeah, all three of us. >> Okay. And did you guys purchase anything? >> Yeah. >> What all did you purchase? >> Um it's in a bag. There's some clothes and like knickknacks. >> Who who did you purchase it from? >> The Salvation Army. >> I know. But I'm being told that from them that you didn't pay anybody inside there. >> Yeah, she did. There's a there's a receipt. >> There's a receipt. >> There's a receipt inside of where >> in a bag in there. >> So she paid for >> Dolce paid. Yeah. >> Doulce paid for >> her belong purse. So I didn't get anything. >> So you didn't get anything at all? >> No. >> So you didn't leave the store with any bags? >> No. >> You left with nothing. >> Just my purse. >> Just your purse. And there's nothing. There was nothing put inside of your purse. >> No. It seemed the woman was desperately trying to avoid responsibility for what had happened, but it was all for nothing because officers soon uncovered the whole truth that he took. >> What jacket? >> The jean jacket you had on when you left. That's the item from inside the store. Where's that other bag that you grabbed? Full of clothing items. >> There it was my bag. It was not full of clothing items. >> You put clothing items in them. When I asked you how many bags did you have inside the store, you told me one. You had two bags inside the store. And you had a black shirt on with your one little bag and then you put a jean jacket on from inside. Okay. All right. Step out for me. >> So you stole the jacket. >> Mhm. >> I stole a jacket. >> Why? >> Behind your back. >> Now you're under arrest. >> Why did you do that? >> What a car. Let's see. >> Huh? >> Yeah. Time to think. >> You said I had a a stand up. >> You're arresting me? >> Yes. Have a seat. Watch your head. Just about everywhere nowadays on camera. He might have worked something else out with you if you guys just would have stopped and handled it with him in the beginning. >> This is the bag you want, right? >> Yeah. >> There's nothing illegal in here. You don't have any medical marijuana, nothing like that? >> I don't have >> lighters or anything? >> No, I don't even have a lighter. >> Okay. >> I'm sober. >> Where's that bag that she took? >> I really don't know. You guys were all in the same car together. It's >> in the car. >> Did she like dump it out in the car? >> I don't I don't know. >> They're more than likely going to want to have you guys trespass, but I'm hoping to get them back their their items and see what they want to do from there, but can't make any promises. Where's the bag with all the stuff? >> With what stuff? All that's in the There's not >> Would you dump it out in the back seat? >> All that is for donation. I didn't even All that is for donation. plus one. >> Okay. But you didn't have it initially and then you had it and it was items were going getting put in there. Okay. So I mean >> in the end both suspects were charged with Laroseni. Their cases are currently pending. What do you think about these women? Which of their actions do you think they deserve to face the greatest consequences for? Let us know in the comments below. Next. A man ended up behind bars over nothing more than a parking space. >> Proper jacket. Turn around. Nope. You're not free to go. Spirit of tank. >> So, I'm under arrest for expressing myself >> in an illegal manner. Yeah. >> I didn't touch him. >> Okay, great. >> On the 1st of February, 2026, officers received a report of a disturbance at Walmart, reportedly sparked by a dispute over a parking space. Upon arriving at the scene, officers immediately began investigating the incident based on the victim's account. somewhere. >> They're looking for the mail. So, >> okay. This guy, what did he say to you? >> What happened? I was waiting for him to get and there's two of them, right? >> He threatened you. >> Yes, sir. >> The victim is a male. Okay. But I'm inter. And both people moving out. He was waiting for one. I was wait one. I went into one. >> I I went into one and he went into the other one. Right. He jumped outside so young. He said, "Man, get back in your [ __ ] manic. I can have my foot." You hear me? You see, he said, "I want this parking." He reached down like he said, "I'll pull up, shoot your ass, you mean I'll punch you in the mouth." And I got scared. I said, "Come on, sir." I said, "You want me a switch? I'll switch." He yell. >> Would you be able to identify this person? >> Yeah. Oh, yeah. >> Do you know what kind of car he was driving? >> Yeah. I got a picture. It's right there. And I got the license plate. >> Can you show me? >> Yeah. a black puffer jacket with a mail. >> Black puffer jacket with jeans. >> He's coming right now. >> I see him right there. Okay. >> Meanwhile, another group of officers located the suspect involved in the incident and immediately took him into custody for further investigation. >> Hey man, you're detained. Hey, right there. Puff jacket. Turn around. Nope. You're not free to go. >> You're detained. We will explain that to you here momentarily. >> How about you explain it to me now? Uh >> what am I being detained for? >> For harassment. >> There's no harassment for what? >> You just asked me the question. I answered the question. >> Who did I harass? >> We're going to figure that out. >> There's nothing to figure out. I'm the one being cuffed. >> Hey, who asked the question? We're answering it. >> So, who did I harass? >> We're going to figure that out right now. >> There's nothing to figure out. >> We're going to confirm it with the person that was harassed. >> That's how it works. >> Who did I harass? Do you have a weapon on you? >> Um, does it look like I have a weapon? No, >> I don't know. That's why I'm asking. >> I have zero weapons. Okay, we're going to make sure you don't. We get a 911 call. >> Somebody cuts me off and I'm harassing him. >> I didn't want anything. >> There's nothing to answer. Why am I being done? >> You're under. >> You ask me questions. >> Official statement, but you're official statement for what? You should know that responding to allegations with anger rarely makes your defense more believable and can even lead to additional charges. But this man didn't seem to realize that as he continued arguing throughout the escort process, making it anything but smooth. >> How do I harass somebody when SOMEBODY CUT ME OFF? I EXPRESS MYSELF and laugh. >> I have to I have the first amendment right, don't I? I can express myself. I didn't touch him. All I did was get close to him. >> That's not harassment. Make >> sense? What? >> Why in your sense? >> We're going to search you. >> So, I'm under arrest for expressing myself >> in an illegal manner. Yeah, >> I didn't touch him. >> Okay, great. >> He cut me the off. >> That's good. It's over a parking stall. Correct. >> Wait, stop. >> Let go. >> Give these to my wife. >> For a guy who's under arrest, you sure have a lot of demands. >> If I get arrested with those two, she has to say, "Here, that's not okay with my new baby. Period. >> Ask my wife. Can you answer it? >> That's my wife. Can you answer it, please? >> I'm in the process of >> Can you answer it, please? That's my wife. No, >> she >> Yeah, she has my baby. >> Oh, man. You guys chumps, man. This is a dumb [ __ ] that I have to tolerate today cuz somebody cut me the off. >> Evidently, you guys search that side. >> No, I didn't. >> Okay. The swap. >> Yes. >> How do you illegally express yourself? How do you legally express yourself? >> Legally or unle? >> I didn't threaten him. >> Okay, great. >> So, why am I under arrest? >> Do you want to give us a statement about what happened? >> Yeah, it's easy to give a statement, but what am I under arrest for? >> Okay. >> Harassment is when you consistently do something. I stated what I needed to state. I parked my car and I walked inside. >> The man aggressively demanded his right to free speech. Yet, when officers began questioning him, he was far less willing to cooperate and explain what had actually happened. >> [ __ ] else to do. >> What's your first thing? >> I'm already under arrest. Now, you ask me my name. Of course, I'm going to ask you your name. Don't watch TV. >> Several children. >> You grab my wallet. Look in it. Oh, okay. Here's the thing. >> Before we go any further, I don't know you. You probably don't know who I am, right? >> I don't. So let's >> Well, I do because there's two ways to go about this, right? Is this the crime of the century? >> Do we have to treat it like the crime of the century? No. Okay. Like this officer or like that officer said, right? You could get a citation. You could be on your way providing you don't have any warrants. That part I don't know. >> I don't do any warrants or say provided I wouldn't have any. >> Because believe it or not, >> to a white boy, >> people have a lot of warrants sometimes. >> I'm not that guy. Do I look like I'm the guy to go to jail? >> Don't know >> exactly. >> Talk to talk to me like I'm your white boy. >> Talk to >> talk to me like I'm a white boy because I don't have >> from a brown boy to another brown boy. >> Yeah. Talk to me like I'm a white boy. Educated. I have all of it. I don't really be in trouble. >> No one was said I'm not. >> This is stupid. Put me in a bathroom car for what? Some white man cut me the off. I express myself and leave. Then this ass decides to call the cops. That dude. I still say that dude. >> Okay, >> that dude. But calm down. >> No, I'm pissed. I'm the one cop. You want me to calm down? That dude. >> You can calm. >> Meanwhile, another officer approached the woman who was also believed to be a victim in the incident. And she confirmed the man's behavior as well. >> All right, ma'am. My name's Corporal is okay. Um, my body came reporting. I just want to [snorts] understand what's going on. Like, do you know what happened? Um before we were driving up here and we were waiting for the handicap because we have handicap stickers and the guy I guess came behind us and our parking spot and he just got a piece to move cuz we've been waiting for 30 minutes and he's like no and they just I don't >> that's all [snorts] >> that's how well then you know pulled back out and he got out start yelling. >> Did you hear what happened? Did you hear what people were saying? >> Not when he was at the car. No, because I was in the car but when we came out here then that's when he was >> when he was what? You know he's upset. >> Yeah, I hear you. You don't remember what he said when he was upset when he was outside the car? >> Yeah, he was just like, "You need to move your car." Like, >> I hear what else did he say? Anything else? >> I mean, there's other people out there that heard it. >> What did he say, man? >> No, he was just yelling like, "This two words." He was mad. >> He says two words, but I kind of need to know specifics, right? Because this could be the very difference between like all right like where does >> he didn't threaten you like he just like or if you anybody else if they wouldn't think that if it was anybody else they would have punched you but I'm walking away anybody else they would have punched you he didn't say I'm going to punch you here. >> Okay so this officer is going to take your statement uh essentially what happened there and then question just as a question. >> Moments later a witness also stepped forward and provided additional statements that further reinforced the allegations against the suspect. The gentleman was sitting in his car waiting for the parking [snorts] space. >> You say gentleman, the >> the black man. Okay. He had his right signal >> turned on. Somebody was in this space, but there was also someone in the other hand that space. >> Okay. >> Initially, I thought he was waiting on him, >> but I saw his signal and I said, "No, he's not waiting. He's waiting to turn right into that parking space." >> Got it. >> Okay. All of a sudden, the guy in the yellow truck swooped up. >> Okay. >> And he was upset, the black guy was. and he went and said something to him. So was telling me he needed to move out. Gotcha. >> The guy in the other car went and got him to settle D to go back to the car. The guy who's in handcuffs right now. >> Okay. >> Her husband, >> she was he was upset that someone came to settle down. >> Settled him down. He went and got in the car. >> He went and said some other words to the guy, let him know, "You shouldn't leave. You are being disrespectful." >> And then he walked up. Got >> him. Him and his wife came into the store. Gotcha. So, so the the black guy was upset. Was the white guy super upset? >> You know, for I couldn't tell really what he was doing. He was sitting in his car. >> Gotcha. >> And when they walked off, the white guy got out the car and he had his phone and he was tell I think he was telling him he was recording and he had his phone up. >> Ah, okay. It's good information. Um, did you hear like anything specific that the black guy said? >> He told him he was being disrespectful and that he should move out of the parking space. In the end, the man was cited for harassment. A moment of anger over something as minor as a parking space can quickly turn into a criminal case. Staying calm and walking away is always better than letting frustration escalate the situation. Next, the woman valued her reputation more than her own wrongdoing. >> Me? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Oh my goodness. >> For grand theft from theft from Target. Um, but I would have to place you in handcuffs, put in the back of my car >> to walk out. Can I walk to your car and then you put me in? >> Yeah, we can do that. >> Is that okay? On the 12th of February 2025, police were dispatched to the woman's workplace, which was believed to be connected to a target theft case. At that moment, the woman was completely bewildered by the presence of the police. >> Hi. >> Hi. Are you waiting for me? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Um, want to go somewhere a little private? >> Uh, we need to go to the hallway. >> Sure. Sorry. This all open everywhere. And our AC is broken. So, >> it's going to be hot in here, too. >> That's fine. I just I'm trying to spare whatever here. So, >> okay. Arrest. >> Me? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Oh my goodness. >> For grand theft from theft from Target. So, there's 10 to 18 different times that you have found a target and paid for items and then did not pay for items and they all have you all in video and photos and all of that. So right now we are here because you have we have PC for your arrests. >> Okay. >> So So what does what do I like? Can you just kind of tell me what to do while we do this? >> Yeah. So I'm telling you that right now. I'm >> I'm don't want to embarrass you in front of your company. So I'm trying to be nicer about it. >> Of course. >> Um but I would have to put you in handcuffs. Put you in the back of my car >> to walk out. Can I walk to your car and then you put me in? >> Yeah, we can do that. Is that okay? She was embarrassed when she realized she might be handcuffed and taken out, but showed no real reaction to the theft accusation. She then shifted to concerns about her family, which delayed the investigation. >> So, I can't call anybody now. I just I'm not trying to do anything beyond this. >> Cuz my kids I do have kids. >> Yeah, I I did go to your house. Uh your son >> was homesick with the flu. >> It's okay. I I did ask I didn't know if you were home. >> He's older. >> Yeah, you're fine. >> He's middle school, right? Yes. >> Okay. He looked middle unless I asked. >> How old is your youngest? >> Seven. And he's probably just getting to the clubhouse. >> That's from the clubhouse. >> Yeah. But like this meeting that I was just in that I got pulled out of as soon as it was over. I normally go home. >> You got anybody else that can go there for at least the evening? >> Do you have your husband, boyfriend? >> Yeah. I mean, I can call my if I'm allowed. I'm giving you >> We're giving you the opportunity to call somebody to go to the house for the kids. >> Yeah. Right. So I know he's not home now, but he's like, you know, at work, so I just let him know. >> Okay. >> It's a little different of a situation where other people are >> looking to call somebody and hurt us. So >> So people are like that. >> To this day, the woman appeared calm and smiling as she faced everything. But in reality, she had caused $3,000 in damages through multiple thefts. And when she called her family, she told a concealed version of events as if trying to preserve her dignity. >> They said for theft at Target for selfch checkout. >> So, >> no, I'm not pranking you. >> That's probably not the norm. So, he probably he or she I just >> Okay. >> But because I they had gone to the house and Dave was there. So I told them like Scarlet and Jameson are probably getting home from school right now. So So they don't call DCF because the kids are home alone. Not because we did anything wrong. >> Okay. He said he'll leave now with fine. Do you have anything here that you need to take out? um like a purse. Um like my car key. >> Should I leave them here? >> I would leave them. >> I don't know. I would have to go up with you and I like trying to not >> No, I can leave my car here like tonight or till later. As long as you're fine with that. >> Shortly after her walk of shame began, but she showed no real shame for her actions. Instead, she was mainly concerned about how her co-workers would look at her. >> Yeah. And then you get different clothes. Got it. Ready? >> Good. >> Obviously, my car is right there and doing it as discretional as possible on the far side. Just I know all my co-workers. >> Yeah. Um, >> the only way you can get in more trouble now is if you took off running. So, I don't think you're going to do that. So, >> I would not do that. So, how long does somebody have to stay? >> Um, well, you can bond out as soon as the booking's done. Um, you can, which will just take a few hours once they get you booked. All the paperwork's done. It usually takes a 2 hours. >> So, as long as you have the funds to bond, you can bond out this this afternoon. >> Go home the same day. >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. Like I could >> You don't have any priors, right? >> No. >> Okay. Yeah. So like I could go like to work tomorrow or people don't do things >> should be able to do as long as you have to have the money to be able to bond, >> right? And then people can like kind of live in normal until thing. Okay. >> I can do all normal things. It's just right now is the >> this is the moment. >> This is the moment where we unfortunately moment. >> You've been really cooperative. I'm not going to handcuff you in the back handcuff you in the front. It's policy. I have to handcuff you. So >> whatever. I don't want to. >> Yes. So, I'll you sit down and hand you in the front and then I'll give you the jail and you literally just get booked processed and you're going to get the opportunity to bond or have your husband or call him and he >> Yep. And then he can work on that and then >> How do you know how much it is? >> Um I it'll populate in mind, but they should tell you. >> Oh, they'll tell you. How do you know? >> The woman never truly admitted her actions, but her concern about her own fate quickly replaced any acknowledgement of wrongdoing. The officer then explained what she could potentially be facing next. The problem is is that you're okay. The problem is with that is that I can't give you an NTA a notice to appear because it's above a misdemeanor amount. So, >> is that a felony? >> Yeah, that's the problem that I can't just take you with a notice to appear for you just to see the judge. So, it would be like an arrest without arresting you and taking you to the jail. So, the reason why it's different is because of the level that it's at. So, or I would be >> What is the level that it's at? Um, I'd have to look at the amount, but I know it's grand theft. >> What is that like? What's the What are the >> It's uh like above 750. >> $750 is grand theft. >> Yeah. Sounds like a low amount for a big thing. I know. >> I wonder if I'm going to get fired if someone looks it up. I don't know your policy. Like, if it's a felony, like a felon. >> No, no, no. I'm sorry. I just don't know. >> You're just getting arrested. That's it. You're not char. You're not convicted. You are not. The judge does not say you are guilty of everything that you did. You just what we have is probable cause with evidence that you committed the crimes. But it is the judge that is the one that signs off on whether or not you are guilty of a felony or do they take your clean history and do they break it down? Do they give you diversion? Finally, the woman was charged with grand theft of up to $3,000. Trying to avoid accountability or shifting focus away from wrongdoing does not erase the evidence. In the end, responsibility must still be faced and consequences come regardless of denial or distraction. Next, the shoplifter even stole the horsedrawn buggy itself without showing any shame. >> What did I do this time? >> Huh? >> I said, "What are you going to do this time?" >> Come on. Come on. Gig's up. Hey, if you guys watched the video, you should you could have seen how horrible it was. >> Well, it took off pretty quick. >> On the 20th of January, 2024, police received a report of a theft. An Amish couple had their horsedrawn buggy stolen while shopping at Walmart. To reassure the victims, officers quickly arrived at the scene and explained who the suspect was believed to be. >> Are you guys from Indiana? >> Accidents cuz this is a horse and I experienced driver won't be able to handle. >> I can't even drive him. >> Not yet. No, nothing. We haven't got any calls anyway. >> But you think you know who? >> Yeah. He said to give me a description and I said, "So earlier I had a call. We dealt with a female in here who was stealing in Walmart. So we have body cameras, right? And you can kind of watch it on our computers in there." So I said, "Hey, does it look like this girl?" He's like, "Uh, yep." >> Uhoh. >> It fit. It fit. >> And she's she's homeless on drugs. And there's a car thief now. >> How could you drive a buggy? >> And another thing is she probably has the blanket still on. So that'll stick out. You don't drive a horse down the road with a blanket on. >> Yeah. >> And I'm serious. this horse in traffic. She won't be able. >> Do you guys live in Indiana or Michigan? >> Just in. >> So, would your horse know the way back home by itself? >> He might. She might. >> Going down here. We go down here river. She's very used to drive that way. >> Well, cuz I'm saying cuz I know sometimes the horses will go back to home on their own. >> I don't know if she will cuz she gets so fired up in traffic. >> Let's say she went out here and she wouldn't come left with traffic. She wouldn't be in the lines >> like he wraps his >> Where's Where's the tie up for your boogies here? Uh >> over here. So did we have did we see any tracks? >> Yes. Well, just but you >> there were other there was here so you can't really tell. >> She I seen her go to the stop sign on and that's it. >> You can I mean I know it's not somebody losing her because well she seen it anyway cuz I >> tied them twice then there's a loop that I tie them to are able to slide it down. >> In the suspect's mind when comparing different vehicles the horsedrawn buggy appeared to be the easiest to steal since it required no key at all. On the same day, police also recovered the buggy, but the woman's whereabouts remained unknown. >> Oh, do you The air pump you guys have over there. So, it looks like they walked around your building then right up to the air pump and then that way. Would a camera catch that corner at all? >> Maybe. But I'm not I wouldn't be able to get you into the cameras anyway, but I can show you where the angles are at. Yeah, cuz right at your air pump, they ended up going up to it and then turning along that fence line. So, they didn't stick back there. They actually walked along the side and then that way. Obviously, they were smart enough to avoid your front cameras. >> Yeah, >> they're It's my brother-in-law's horse. I'm just >> I heard they're on the way, I heard. So, >> I just came over here to tie them up real quick. We were all over town searching for them. >> Yeah, we were too. And we I happened to just pass that motel and I turn around. I'm on the phone with the sergeant. He's describing what the horse looks like. He's like, "He's got like a blue or gray coat with white." I was like, I'm looking at one right now in the parking lot. So, so I walked up and saw the plate start with 11. Yeah, it's been here the whole time. That's what I was told. I was about to walk up cuz I was checking to make sure they weren't still in there. And I was like, I don't know if I can pet this horse or not. Like, if it's going to calm down if I walk up to her, it's going to freak out and run away. >> Our buggy got stolen and we don't have anywhere to go. >> Came pretty close >> cuz I was like, well, I said, worst case scenario, if your brother can't help you out, it's like, I will drive you back to Ship Shuana. >> Yeah. Immediately after the police had returned the vehicle to its rightful owner, they used the information previously provided by Walmart to be able to locate the woman. It appeared that she had anticipated their arrival and deliberately evaded them. >> Uh, well, how about the energy? Where'd she go? >> Outside door. >> There's an officer back there then. >> Seriously, get up. >> What did I do this time? >> Huh? >> I said, "What did I do this time?" >> Come on. >> Come on. Gig's up. >> Hey, hold up. What did I do this time? I'm sorry. >> You know what you did. >> No, I really didn't. >> We have you on video. >> For what? >> You know what? >> You know what you did? How do you think you got? >> How do you think you got here from Walmart? >> You want to see my shoes? My feet. >> For real. >> Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> Okay. Look, >> I just see. That's fine. >> Okay. Can I get my shoes on? >> Yeah, we'll get some shoes. >> Okay, thank you. >> She pretended to be innocent as if she had done nothing after attempting to hide behind the house. It seemed she had prepared a false story for the incident. >> How'd you get here? >> I went and stood. Well, I went over. >> Just remember, there's video cameras all over Admiral. There's all over Walmart. >> So, what happened? Be truth. Don't Don't be a lying. >> I walked over to Dollar Tree. cuz my phones were dead. I used the manager's phone, called for a ride, sit outside for maybe half hour, went in, didn't come. They come, so I asked for another ride >> and [ __ ] they said to walk in. I'm not in town. >> So I went through the uh Wild Bills, looked in their dumpster >> and then I went >> all the way up to the bank and then [ __ ] I went over the I walked half way through uh Meyers and then I walked back all this way. Mhm. >> I went and stood out by the semis who had seen someone >> and then >> I sat there and continued and continued. Then I sat down by a horse and buggy. Waited what seemed like forever. >> Mhm. >> For them to come out and then nobody. So I went over to the country earth which was used to be nights in I think. >> Yep. sat there, waited and waited and then my girlfriend uh Stephanie Contrad came home, got a ride for her. After I waited and she had to go to Dollar General, then she did that ATM and then she dropped me off over here. >> Clearly, none of her story was supported by any evidence while the police had already gathered solid proof to confront her at this point. >> Now, I want you to back up a little bit to Walmart in the buggy. Do you not recall the part I said there's cameras there? There's cameras here. The admiral and there's cameras here >> that we already watched >> that we watched already. So, do you want do you want to tell your the true story of how you got here? >> Okay. I say I knocked on the buggy cuz both sides and then what happened? >> Got you on video. If you want to be honest, fine. If not, we'll go >> what? >> What? >> We did it this time. >> What did I do this time? >> What did you do? >> Uh, my car is out here. >> I got called. It was about 3:00 when we we talked to you at Walmart earlier when they thought you were stealing. Okay. And we trespassed you. So you left and walked towards Meyers. Correct. >> Yeah. I went to Dollar Tree. >> In the Dollar Tree. Okay. And then where'd you go after that? >> I went to look I went through behind Wild Bills or what used to be Wild Bills. >> Yeah. Marijuana shop now. The Dubai. >> I went and hit up those dumpsters which I usually do cuz you never know. We do quite find at least decent [ __ ] sometimes. But anyway, and then [ __ ] I went over to Myers and walked halfway through the parking lot. I said, "It's way too cold." >> Yeah. >> Walked back. Uh, and then >> I walked over by there and sat and waited for Well, I stood and waited for a while >> and then I knocked because I didn't know it sound like somebody was inside. So, I knocked on one side >> of of what? >> The buggy. >> The buggy. Okay. So she eventually admitted being involved with the horse and buggy despite previously trying to avoid that fact. As a result, her expression of regret became even less convincing. I could have somebody follow me or take me up there and so that way I can like to cuz I felt like I'm going to lie. I did time and just thinking like really what are you doing >> after you took the buggy? >> Yes. Like instant regret. Have you ever taken any equestrian classes or anything? >> What? >> Like classes of how to like ride horses or anything like that? >> I >> How' you How'd you know how to drive the horse? >> I didn't. >> Are you kidding me? >> No, I did. Serious. >> Did you say anything to the horse? >> Like they had a window. I I didn't. If you guys watched the video, you should you could have seen how horrible it was. >> Well, it took off pretty quick. >> No, not really. >> No, it looked quick on the camera. So, how'd you get to turn? You just pull it to the right when you want it to go right and >> I >> You mean you got it to admiral? >> How' you How' you How'd you steer it? >> Horrible. >> Like I even had Well, obviously cars go past horses and buggies, but there's a guy I want to say on Monroe goes this way, right? >> Monroe. >> Yeah. Monroe goes this way, right? >> Goes north and south. >> Yes. >> Congress. Yeah. >> And then so his mechanic >> mechanic. Yeah. I just got past Monroe and some guy was outside like he's watching at this point. He's just talking to me and he that's how slow I was going down the street. >> Mhm. I got you. >> And I'm like, "Huh?" He goes, "Your rope's hanging down." I'm like, "Oh, okay." And then finally got it to stop after realizing they have a brake pedal, which I don't know. >> They have a brake pedal? >> Yeah. But I didn't. >> So, did you just pull them to the right or left when you wanted them to turn? >> I don't know. I don't have it figured out. which I'm kind of glad I >> In the end, the woman was charged with grand larseny and larseny of livestock. Attempting to deny clear evidence only made her situation worse. Once the facts are established, dishonesty does not change the outcome and usually leads to greater consequences.
