Why are you arresting me? Why are you arresting me? >> What is That's not mine. >> Okay, >> that's not mine. What is that? >> Yeah, I'm so stupid. >> Yeah, it was pretty dumb. >> Late regrets can sometimes be nothing more than an attempt to gain sympathy. Some shoplifterss think they can escape the consequences by putting on a convincing act only to realize that they cannot fool experienced officers. Here are the times when Walmart shoplifter thinks she can steal without consequences. Beginning with this strange woman. Was her bizarre behavior just an act? >> You don't have ID? You go to jail. Do you have any ID on you? >> Do you have ID? >> I do. I'm a police officer. Does she rather wear a Louis Vuitton than being sick? >> I don't know what she wants, but she's safe. Oh, >> on the 30th of September 2025, officers approached a woman suspected of shoplifting at Target. From the way she had covered her appearance to her evasive and resistant behavior when officers approached, everything only made the suspicion against her even stronger. >> Either you get processed by them or you get processed by me. Your choice. Yes or no? Okay. >> I don't know nothing. >> Put your bag down. >> Put your bag down. Are you going to resist, too? I'm not ready. >> Okay. Did you not understand what I said? Okay. Let go. Let go. >> Please. >> You okay? >> We're done with being nice. >> I'm not okay. >> Do you want to go to jail tonight? >> Yes or no? Cuz you still have a chance to walk away. What are you not understanding in that part? You're not free to leave. Have you been arrested before? It's a simple process. >> I just got my handle with me. >> Because you're not complying. >> Oh, I don't understand. >> Oh, you don't understand? No, I don't. >> Okay. You're being detained for shoplifting. >> For what? >> Inside the loss prevention office, the woman continued to play innocent in response to every accusation the officers made. But was it all just an act? >> I figure that out. >> You're trying to figure that out? These people are professionals. >> I don't know what they are. >> You don't know what they are? And there you merchandise in your bag that you didn't pay. >> Yeah, I am. And I will. >> You had a chance. You have ID on you. Do you? >> Yeah. Do you have ID or not? >> Yes or no? This is a simple process. Trespass and you walk out, but you don't have ID. You go to jail. Do you have any ID on you? >> Do you have ID? >> I do. I'm a police officer. Are you not understanding this process? >> They're grabbing me >> because you're not complying. >> They grabbing me. I ain't doing nothing to you. >> I ain't do nothing to them. >> Okay. Because you you need to pay for merchandise. Spread your feet. Are you understanding a shoplifting? >> No. >> You're not understanding that? >> Okay. >> You never been arrested before. You don't have a warrant, anything like that? >> Do you? >> Do you? Do you? Do you? >> The woman appeared to be acting erratically, speaking in an unstable and inconsistent manner. Or perhaps she simply did not seem to care about how serious the situation was. >> What are we looking for? >> You're under arrest with that. We're looking for your ID so you can get processed. How much merchandise is it? >> We're getting a toll right now. >> It's a simple process. You still can walk out with a trash bag. Are you understanding? Okay. Spread your feet cuz I'm going to take that bag. I don't want to damage your bag. Let go. Have you been arrested and fine? Okay. Let go your bag. Let go your bag. Okay. Put your Put your bag down. Put your bag down and face the wall. What's going on, man? Are you okay? Are you all right? Could you please get off my arm? My arm is really hurt. My arm is really hurt. My arm is really hurt. Spread your feet to please get off my right arm. Please get off my right arm. Please get up off my right arm. >> Okay, stop moving my right arm. [snorts] >> Stop moving around. >> Please get up off my right arm. >> Okay, I'm going to I'm going to search you real quick. >> Thank you. >> Is she wearing anything? Okay, now have a seat. You're looking for something. You're looking for a visit vacation. >> Yeah. Sit down. I didn't tell you to sign up. Sit down. You tell me where it is. Sit down and I'm going to tell you one more time. >> I only need to show you. >> Okay, I got it. It's called Search Incident Arrest, man. >> Where is it? What's your name? >> What's your name? Where's your name? >> That you. >> Where is your name? >> Take your mask real quick. Okay. >> Okay. Does any any of this belong to you guys? No. This is her mom. Can I take it out? >> Okay. You're under arrest for stealing my arm. >> She then suddenly came up with a story about her friend and [snorts] claimed that was why she had stolen the items. But her lack of remorse only made the excuse even harder to believe. >> Do you have any disability? >> No, but my friend do and she near. >> Okay. >> She need the item. >> She need the item. Is that what you sto What you stole? Yes, cuz she need She's sick and she about to die. >> She's scared. >> I'm serious. Going all the door. She don't feel so good. >> She went through some surgery and I don't know. She had an immunization shot and now she swear she don't feel so good. >> I don't know what else to do for her. >> I don't have money. I try to get a job. I don't know what to tell you. Before you tell me this is her. >> This is her arm. We're almost done. I'm not asking you for sympathy or empathy. I'm just letting you know what's going on. >> Before you tell me anything, I'm going to read you your right. >> It's okay. It's okay. >> You have the right to remain silent. >> Anything you say can and won't be used against you in the curb. >> Yeah. Federal Way don't want me in that court. They don't want me in court. >> So, you stole because of your friend. >> Yeah. She She's really sick right now. >> What What surgery when he had surgery? >> I do right 100 times. Look who your president is. I can hire him, but they won't hire me. I could go in the store and buy my friend something before she died. >> Additionally, another reason the officer found her story hard to believe was that she had a designer pair of glasses, something she could have sold for a significant amount of money to buy what she needed. >> Supposed to pay for the merchandise that you get. That is not yours. That's Louis Vuitton for your information. >> Is it real Louis Vuitton? >> I'm about to figure it out. Then if it's real, you should sell it to your friend's medicine if you really care about her, right? >> I was going to give it to her so she can wear it for your information. >> Oh, she'd rather wear a Louis Vuitton than being sick. >> I don't know what she wants, but she's sick, so I don't know what to say. I don't >> I'm going to issue you a trespass and mail you a ticket. Is that better than going to jail tonight? Or do you better please mail it to the federal responsible to the mail for incident? Does that make any sense to you? Do you want to you want me to take you to jail tonight or not come back here for 3 years? Which one? >> I can tell you if you mail me to the address on my identification, it's not going to work for me. >> You told me that address. You said you'll get that mail and that address. Okay. >> She will be responsible if you feel alive. >> All right. I put everything right in your bag so when we're done, you can walk out of here. Okay. What is the amount? 6382. I should worried about the murderer that told me he's a murderer. But let her go. Go worry about him. Worry about him. >> Where can I find the murder? >> Around here. Around here. That's for sure. Around here. I seen him at 412. And he said he was a known murderer. He said, and he said, "Go left or go right at 412 when I miss the bus." And then when I see the bus, >> in the end, the woman was charged with retail theft. The lesson is that a difficult situation does not excuse breaking the law. If the woman truly needed help for her friend, there were legal ways to seek assistance, but choosing to steal and then showing little remorse only undermined her own explanation. Next, this woman blamed her circumstances after being caught red-handed. >> Came down to start a new life down here, but also to help my dad take care of my mother. So many situation lines like I cannot be another sight, please. >> On the 16th of February 2024, officers [snorts] were dispatched to Walmart after receiving a report about a woman acting suspiciously while shopping. When they arrived, loss prevention staff pointed out her behavior as they reviewed the surveillance footage. >> She's just browsing through electronics right now. >> Cart. >> Yeah, the cart's on this camera and I'm just following her on the right. That book bag was full, too. >> Yeah, it looks too full to be like I mean it could be her book bag, but I think she may have loaded it before. Yeah, before I started watching. >> You guys don't, right? >> Oh, no. Oh, your pants. >> You want to put gloves on? [laughter] >> No. >> What? >> I want to put gloves on. >> Or how do you want to >> This is remember those years ago where they used to come with those big pans >> and they used to conceal the meat >> between the legs. [laughter] >> I was like, "Oh my god." They put spare ribs on the side. >> Yeah, that's gross. I But that's what they did. >> Yeah. >> They gave him baggy pants. >> I like, "Wow, how in the world you put something called >> Yeah. I don't I don't even know how to make it fit in there." >> Yeah. >> Tie it or something. She's been stuff inside her pants. >> Is that female? >> It is female. She's got a whole shopping cart full of stuff, too, that she left. And then she's walking around eating stuff also. Afterward, the woman was taken to the loss prevention office where the merchandise she had attempted to steal was valued at more than $750. Having been caught red-handed, she began to show regret. >> With you, ma'am, all I have is my last department of transitional. >> Okay, just hold this. my phone. You took it and send it to me. Unless the pictures I took the pictures. >> Is there any way someone smoke a cigarette? >> No, ma'am. You are currently detained. >> I'm definitely not here. Like if I sat there and looked up on Walmart app, the other stuff I did to scan, it probably would have been over. Once it hit 759, I was like, there's no point even going. I mean, you guys can go like as fully to get an actual like amount of it, but that's me. That's how I do things. I don't know how Nikki does it. Um, >> so I'm in recovery. I came down in June. >> And recovery of of what? >> Suddenly, she began sharing her life story. Was this an explanation for why she had stolen, or was she simply trying to make herself look pitiful to gain sympathy? came down to start a new life down here, but also to help my dad take care of my mother >> and fingers crossed by there's really no resources down here for any help. >> So, and my children so >> Okay, my partner, he he's about to uh >> I don't want to die. I want to have two children that I need to be with. I just can't go on living like this. >> Hey, can you run a name and date of birth for me? See if you can find anything Massachusetts related. Anybody else? >> No. >> While officers searched the woman's personal belongings, store employees also shared another detail about what had happened. She had previously expressed an intention to harm herself. >> Anything yet? I was just waiting for you to get here to do your thing. 32. >> Apparently, what they heard her say was that she was going to blow her brains brains out, but she told me that she was using her and that she really didn't mean it. She has kids, family, and stuff like that. So, >> did you say that? >> Did you say you're going to blow your brains out? >> I did. >> Why is that? And I came down here to start over and my mom as well. So I came down to help my dad take care of my mom and gohead. >> Have you been arrested here? >> Never. >> Do you have any kind of promotion? >> Yeah. Right now we're doing another investigation. Can they call someone else? >> The city's busy. There's no available officers. >> The officer explained the consequences she would face for her actions. It seems she had not thought about them when she committed the theft. [snorts] And now [music] tears of regret came too late. >> And you can't come back here. We already >> go home. >> No, don't come back to Walmart. >> Even though you didn't mean it and you told it to them and when I asked you like why why' you say that? We still have the good faith baker act. >> I'm still in a situation like I cannot be another safe. Please don't put me there. >> Okay, but you said it. >> I did. >> So it doesn't we're not medical professionals or psychologists, physiologists, people like that. And we have the good faith bank rule that if you said something like that and now you're denying it. >> I mean I don't want to go to jail. >> Nobody wants to go to jail. But you still committed a felonious amount of retail. You guys don't yell at me. Don't laugh at me. Please don't laugh at me. Wait, >> we're not laughing at you. Daddy, >> how does that work? >> Because you did a felonious amount. on a felony amount. You reached over 750 which is the what indicates >> you guys. >> So you went over that limit. So it's a felony amount. So from here you went straight to jail. >> They have their own medical staff there. And if you just let them know what medications you're that that is between you and the jailer. >> In the end, Elizabeth was charged with grand theft. Think about the consequences before stealing. Regret after getting caught will not undo the crime or prevent the consequences. Next, officers also busted another organized ring that specialized in stealing and reselling windows. >> Rogan, but I found windows. So, you said it was doctor's appointments, but I see windows written here, so I'm just >> That was >> This looks like his You're helping load stolen goods into the back of the U-Haul. >> How supposed to know they stole it? >> On the 8th of December, 2023, officers received a report of a theft at Home Depot. What initially seemed like a simple shoplifting case turned out to involve an entire organized operation behind it. First, here was what happened when they arrived at the scene. >> Stay in front of the car, man. In front of the car. >> Stay right there. >> Keep your hands up. >> Keep your hands up. Switch hands on the van. Keep your hands on the van. Okay. Thank you. You got her. I'll take him. All right. Keep your hands on the vehicle. Put your hands behind your back. What did I do? What did I do to >> What did I do? >> You're being detained right now for suspicion of theft. >> Oh, I didn't do nothing. >> Hang up. >> Okay. >> All right. We got two in custody here. >> He was trying to call the third guy, I'm sure. over here. What you talking about? >> Lean up against this. Lean up against that. Freddy, do you want >> Let me check with Let me see what he's doing. >> Hey, what do you got? >> You have more windows. >> He's filling up more windows. >> Lean up against the car, please. These two suspects were believed to be acting as lookouts and assisting with the getaway while another suspect inside was actively carrying out the theft. The officers tried to confirm the identity of the third suspect over the radio. >> So Eagle, he's uh making his way up towards the front of the store. He's going to walk out of the west entrance, >> which is closest to the garden center. Not the garden center itself. The one that's got the Home Depot riding on top of it. They'll have a flat cart full of windows going on. >> Me, too. >> Can you follow me? >> Okay. He's definitely involved though, right? >> Hey, his phone should be ringing. He knows he's being followed in the store. He's on the phone trying to call that number. >> All right. The uh guy in the store knows the gig's up and he's walking out empty-handed and we have PC to arrest him. >> Do you want me to just put him in the car? >> Do you have it? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Yeah. Yeah. We'll we'll address all your stuff as soon as we get this under control. Okay. >> Okay. >> I told you it's >> going to be the black male that just walked out. He's got a shirt hanging off his shoulder. He's walking uh northbound in the parking lot. The third suspect eventually revealed himself after his plan failed and he walked out empty-handed, but that did not mean he was innocent. Officers stopped and arrested him shortly afterward. >> Hands up. Turn around. Turn around. Walk backwards. Come back to me. Walk back to me. Keep coming. Keep coming back here. Coming. >> Chill. No. >> All right. We got to make custody. >> What would you like to say? >> Okay. I was doing this. Yep. >> Okay. I leave and I and I um I was helping them. I got caught before. So um I was making a big load and wait to come so everybody could You know what I'm saying? >> Oh, you knew we were coming. >> Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am. Okay. >> Cuz they wanted when they arrested me. Mhm. >> Just work with them. They didn't want us. The little >> food. >> They didn't want us to >> just go back over there. >> No. Why didn't you call us? >> I I can't cuz I have a certain person that I contact with Home. >> Yeah. Your friend. >> No, no, no, no. With Home Depot. >> Can I put him in here? >> Which Home Depot? The only thing I would call was to make sure that I was here already. And And if he said if he didn't say nothing, then I show. So, I saw the other guy in there. I said, "Okay." >> Well, you should have called us. >> No, I could call y'all. >> I know. You were calling your friend. >> No. >> Completely contradicting the man's excuse, officers found a notebook in the woman's pocket. It was a major discovery that helped expose their theft operation. >> So, she's going to have uh a notepad. >> Uh-huh. >> This is just your doctor's. >> Yeah. >> The guy over there had one, too. I know it was just his stealing list. So, I just want to make sure. >> But anyway, >> just your doctor's >> Oh, windows. I thought you clean. >> That's him. >> Windows. So, you said it was doctor's appointments, but I see windows written here. So, I'm just >> That was >> This looks like his. So, I just wanted I just wanted to make sure just doctors. >> Let me ask you. >> Back to the first man. He began denying any involvement in the incident and tried to shift all the responsibility onto the other two suspects. So, um, what's going on is we received a call that there was someone in Home Depot stealing today. Okay, that's how we got the call. No, did I say who? I didn't say who. Okay. Um, so with that information, we obviously came here. They said that they were in a U-Haul, i.e. this this U-Haul right here that we were looking at, right? And they said that there was a young male helping the other male load up windows um into the back of the ukulele. First of all, these are just roommates to you, just from what I'm gathering. Is that correct or not correct? >> I can't I don't even know. I that's all I don't even know. >> You don't know if they're roommates? >> No, I don't I don't stay with them. >> Okay. So, do they stay with someone you're related to perhaps? Is that possible? >> Yeah, probably. Yeah. >> Okay. Do you know the what's the guy's name over there? Do you know it? Uh older guy. You don't know it? Did he tell you to come to this Home Depot? >> Yeah. >> He told you to come to this Home Depot? >> Did he tell you for what? >> No, he was just like, "Can you take me?" I like, "My uncle got a U-Haul." Uncle like you take. Yeah, I'll take him. No problem. >> Took him. But I ain't know what the hell was going on. Like you talking about I'm still I ain't stealing. You ain't seen me steal. I'm in the car. >> I hear you. But here's the issue. You are in this U-Haul with these people that are actively committing crimes. Okay. So, you're helping load stolen goods into the back of the U-Haul. >> How supposed to know they stolen? You can help. Okay. Just slide them in on you. >> You I don't I don't mind. He going there shopping, not me. I don't have his receipt, none of that. That's him. Turning to the final suspect, he began revealing the truth about the operation behind the thefts, explaining the notebook that documented the window sails and the U-Haul driver's involvement. Okay. >> Do you want to tell me that? I know you mentioned over there you told him. Do you want to tell me that? >> Yeah, cuz I think he didn't understand what I was saying. Trying to get I talking so fast and I wasn't ready for >> nervous. Yeah. Yeah, I get it. >> But I'm trying to do the right thing now. Okay. >> Situation where I'm disabled. I live in a room house and unfortunately the Roman house is corrupt. So what they do is they they make you do things and they keep me at bay. I just got a phone after a year and a half because I got robbed of last time. Guy told me at Home Depot or whatever office they called him inside. They said um we'll we'll take care of the charges. We don't want you guys. We want the ring leader. >> Who are these people to you? They stay in the room >> just like me. Yeah. They stay in the house. Does he does the young boy stay there? >> Yeah. Everybody stay out. He has the house on lot. >> Who? Uh >> who owns the house? >> Zed owns the house. >> Zed owns the house. >> Isn't said Kino's uncle? >> Yeah, of course. Kino use his family. >> Kino does or said >> uses his family. >> Why did you guys choose this Home Depot? >> I choose it cuz I had Ken here before. >> Gotcha. Where uh where is he selling these Windows app? Uh he's right now he's got a regular customer but he usually going to offer up and and um but because um because um the other girl that did Diana she had so many customers that when she passed they still come back too. >> Did uh did Kino know what the deal was when you were coming up here? >> Ask him where he's still >> ask me. Yeah she listen she told me she >> Yeah. resting or something. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's trying to distance himself from everything because he's thinks he's just far enough away to not get in trouble. >> Hey, whose bag is this? >> What is it? >> Um, >> yeah, sure. They can say they didn't know, but everybody knows. >> Antoine was charged with organized retail theft and grand theft. Kino and the female suspect were also charged for their roles in the theft operation. Being the driver or a lookout does not automatically remove responsibility. When evidence shows that several people knowingly worked together, even a supporting role can lead to serious charges. Next, this Gen Z Pokémon fan broke into a store and stole $12,000 worth of Pokémon cards >> to see what he wanted. So, he knows Pokémon. >> Mhm. >> He didn't take anything else from that side. >> I'm so stupid. >> Yeah, it was pretty dumb. On the 21st of May 2026, deputies were dispatched to the store after receiving a report of a theft that had taken place. The suspect was believed to have broken in overnight and stolen approximately $12,000 worth of Pokémon cards. For more details, listen to the store owner's account when deputies arrived at the scene. >> All right. Thanks so much. Bye-bye. >> It's not him, bro. It's not him. >> How you doing? All right. I'm well. >> Said that you have to come like this. 3 3:00. >> Okay. >> Had like a chainsaw or a jigsaw. Started going through it because it's impact glass. >> Yeah. >> Started working his way in there and then went back. Looked like he went around there. I don't have cameras on that side. So that's a blind spot. >> Okay. >> Came back with like a like a hammer. Did the rest. >> Small hole. Got himself in like Spider-Man. >> Does some sort of barrel roll and just starts doing doing some damage. Thank god we do put a lot of stuff in the back. >> Okay. >> So, there's a lot of stuff that they didn't grab, you know. >> Um, >> but they did. >> They did a good enough job. >> Really? >> A lot of stuff. >> I know. What's up? >> Um, we're trying to like >> I mean, I don't think it's crazy. It's probably 10 to 15 grand worth of stuff. >> Really? Okay. >> You know, but and thank God like, "Hey, we're gonna do >> same thing. Same window." >> Okay. Yeah. I mean, he tried to do his job, you know, try to cover it up, but it's real small. Uh, there is some blood on the glass, which is a good thing. Okay. So, I don't know. You know, where is that? It's uh see Joe, did you cover the blood up or is it >> Additionally, the store owner noticed that the suspect did not take items at random. He appeared to understand the value of the Pokémon cards. >> That's how I knew it wasn't just a hammer. And then when I went back, I saw him literally with a jigsaw. Hi. What's up? >> Thank you for coming. >> And he did 10 to 15,000. Did he know what he was going for or was you think he was just looking at the stickers? >> Uh, no. He definitely didn't look at any stickers. He didn't have time. He came back here. >> Uh, grabbed a couple of things. Like, he did look to see what he wanted. So, he knows Pokemon. >> He didn't take anything else from that side, which is other stuff. He knew, but these were in the back. It's like $1,000 that was locked up. We put tags on the stuff that was in the back. >> And then maybe you grab one of these. I'm not 100%. Maybe grab one of these. And then he just came here and took these trays that were full with cards like that and just dumped them into like kind of like one of those Aldi type bags, you know, like those uh environment free >> kind of bags. He had two little shopping bags, >> did [snorts] his thing, went through here. Weird thing is I talked to ADT about it. >> I mean, I know if that's a glass sensor, it won't go off cuz they're impact windows. They're not the shatter ones. But if it's a motion that should have went off and then I have a motion over there, but he never went as far as here. >> After reviewing the surveillance footage, officers identified the suspect's vehicle, tracked it to an address, and went there to search the home. [snorts] >> How are you? >> Fine. >> We're just making sure your dogs are not aggressive before we came and knocked on the door. >> One of them is. >> Oh, they are? Okay. >> Yeah. Well, the the big one. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Um, >> but they're in the house. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Do you need to come in or? >> Yeah, if we could. >> Sure. >> Can they come out the dog door? >> No. No. No. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Come on in. >> So, I'm Detective Remo with Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. >> Yeah. >> This is my partner, Detective Mace. >> Hello. >> Hi. >> You Miss Dolly? >> Yes. >> You? Yeah. Give me a hand. Take those pockets. >> Is that a knife in his front right >> or a gun? >> Is it a gun or a knife? >> It's a knife. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> You're being detained right now. >> Okay. Just relax. We have a search warrant for your house. >> Okay. >> We're going to explain everything. >> Yeah, we'll explain everything to you. >> To get things situated. >> Clayton, the suspect behind the crime, was detained. Officers then explained everything that had happened to his mother, who appeared to be the most shocked and confused at the moment. >> Um, in which Clayton broke into a business this morning at 3:00 a.m. >> Okay, >> that that's my son. Um, he used a chainsaw to cut through a hurricane proof window >> using the Jeep that you own. >> Oh. >> To get there and from. And he stole a bunch of Pokemon cards. >> Oh [ __ ] >> So, >> oh my god. >> Um, we do have a search warrant for the house. He cut himself up badly going through the window. So, we have a search warrant for his DNA as well. >> Okay. But um we're just trying to do everything as safe as possible so the dogs don't have no harm or anything like that. >> Right. >> Um you said your husband's the only one other one inside. >> Yeah, he's Yeah. Um you guys are welcome to come in. >> Okay. Um if I >> get us >> Yeah. If I if I return everything and um >> I don't know. >> Okay. I don't know. That's a question for the bald man. >> The bald man? >> Yeah. Can I >> He's in tr Well, let's let him talk to mom and then uh >> Can I talk to him? >> Yeah, give him a second. Let Let him talk to mom and explain what's going on cuz she's a little nervous. So, >> yeah. I'm so stupid. >> Yeah, it was pretty dumb. >> He appeared remorseful, but not necessarily because he understood that what he did was wrong. Instead, he seemed to believe that returning the stolen property might be enough to earn forgiveness. >> Okay. >> So, we're uh like I said, that's what we're trying to get as majority of the property back. >> Okay. Um I can um I can give you all the property back. >> Okay. >> And um I can tell you where the chainsaw is. I can um give you my clothes. Okay. >> Everything. I just want to, you know, I don't know if I need a lawyer or if >> it's it's entirely your right. >> I can make a deal. >> Unfortunately, we don't make deals and can't make a deal right here right now. Um, we have what we have. >> Mhm. >> And there's, like I said, an abundance of evidence in regards to what we have and why we're here right now. >> Right. >> Um, it is entirely your right to an attorney as he read you your rights. Um, so that is entirely your choice. Whether you want to tell us more or not, it's up to you. Like I said, we're we got a search warrant and we're going to go looking for everything regardless. >> Afterward, his mother admitted that she had noticed his injuries. She also persuaded him to reveal where he had hidden the saw. >> He was washing his hands and and he said, "I cut myself." And I didn't see his hands, but he was telling me that. It's not a mistake, right? It's a choice. It's a choice. You can't You can't sit there and tell me doing something four times is a mistake. >> I don't remember you trespassing me from here, though. You guys have a good night. >> Bus stop is right there. >> I'm I'm going to walk down just down the way. Have a good day. >> The blackhaired woman was charged with assault and disorderly conduct. The disorderly conduct charge was later dropped while she pleaded not guilty to the assault charge and the case remains ongoing. Escalating a confrontation instead of letting police handle it can make an already difficult situation much worse. Staying calm and cooperating with the investigation gives everyone a better chance of reaching the truth. >> Say I need somebody with feelings. She's telling me all that's her stuff. >> Well, I can't read your mind, that's for sure. But you got to you got to look at it from our perspective. >> She's telling you that it's her stuff. >> You know, I agree with that. On the 23rd of January 2025, police received a report from a TJ Maxx store reporting that a theft had occurred. The suspect was believed to have a prior criminal record related to stealing merchandise from stores. This was what happened when police arrived at the scene. >> The past said she just pushed the car right out past the point of sale. >> Okay. >> Yeah. She she has a uh laundry bin inside the cart. >> That's where she's been stuffing everyone. Gotcha. >> So, she's either going to just push the cart or just pick up the >> Have we dealt with her before or do you guys just know of her? >> Yeah. So, we actually have two charges with her out of this store and our marshall from the street. >> Okay. >> So, that's why we kind of called you guys ahead of time cuz she already has like charges out with you guys. >> Gotcha. She took the cover off, put it in the cart. >> Okay. So, yeah, she has a magnet. So, she's like defeating uh our >> security devices and stuff. >> All right. Well, we're standing off to the side, Braden. So, I mean, I don't know if her driver is just not paying attention, but [laughter] >> yeah, she hasn't taken her phone off or anything. So, >> okay. >> I thought she was about to use a magnet. >> Gotcha. You said she's still up front by purses. >> Yeah, she's still in handbag. She just selected a a lower dollar non-tethered one. >> Okay. >> That's in her hand. There's a lot of customers in handbags, so it's probably why she got another lower dollar one in her hand. >> Can you go again with the description of what she's wearing? >> Yeah, she's wearing a What is it? A blue Nike hoodie. >> It's a blue hoodie, black sweatpants, black coat. She has a tattoo on her throat. So even the store employees clearly understood the suspect's scheme. This time she was believed not to be acting alone. At this moment the police approached those suspects and they were completely annoyed by the presence of the police. >> Yeah. >> Hello. >> Why don't you just have a seat over here for me? >> Do me a favor. Just have a seat. >> No, wait. I want to know what's going on. >> So, right now, we're investigating the shoplifting that's going on. Okay. >> Mhm. >> So, that's what's going on. >> She didn't do She didn't do anything. >> Okay, I got you. We're just We're just here figuring it out. If you If you don't mind having a seat, that would be appreciated. Thank you. >> So, what's going on? Obviously, I already looked in the car. There's a bunch of stuff in the car. >> Yeah, I took it. I took it. We just We ain't even going to >> Yeah, she asked for a ride. You know, >> she don't have nothing to do with it. I didn't. >> So, I don't know what's going on. That's what I'm >> You got to be aware that uh you can get the conspiracy charge. >> Why would I get I didn't know. took it. She didn't know anything. That's why I'm saying right now in my car the merchandise is in your car, right? >> Okay. And once again, I didn't even go in this store. >> You're the registered owner of the car. You're responsible for everything. But once again, I didn't when you give to my ride, you don't know what the hell they're in this store doing. >> You're responsible for everything inside the car. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> How am I responsible for everything? >> I don't have anything. My stuff is in my car. >> Okay. >> You have your ID on you, man? >> No. >> Yeah. She asked for a ride. I can't >> You're responsible for everything that's inside your car. You can't tell me that if I didn't know what was going on, but okay. >> Cuz you see the stolen merchand that's in your car. >> How would I know if anything stolen if she went in the store? I don't know what she's doing. I didn't go in there. I just got my mouth done. That's the only reason why I didn't go in the store. >> The woman in the pink hat avoided involvement by all means, as if she was completely innocent. While the other person began to admit involvement in a store. >> And between Burlington Cone Factory and TJ Maxx, did you go in any other stores? >> No. >> Okay. >> And I didn't. I walked in TJ Maxx and walked out. >> I got you. Okay. So, you didn't you don't have anything on you from TJ Maxx? >> No, I don't have nothing. >> I got you. Got you. I know it's cold. Just do me a favor and just keep your hands out of your pockets. That's all I ask. >> Before Burlington Coat Factory, did you go in any stores? >> Um, no. We I went to the Deer Mall. Okay. >> But that's it. >> I got you. >> I just went in the mall and came out too. I didn't go anywhere else. >> So, the merchandise that's in the car right now, >> it's from Rose. >> Okay. Any of it from different mall? >> No. >> Okay. I didn't take nothing from you. >> I got you. >> All right. Did you ID her? >> Not yet. >> Do you have your ID on you? >> Mhm. >> It's in the car. >> It's in the car. >> Is that your car? >> Yeah. >> You're a registered owner. >> Mhm. >> All right. Do you know your social security number? I'll let you read it, but I don't want you touching the back. >> Okay. >> You need my ID. >> Well, so right now >> you can't say I knew somebody was stealing. She's telling you all that's her stuff. >> Well, I can't read your mind. That's for sure. But you got to you got to look at it from telling you that it's her stuff. I got you. >> Just cuz I'm sitting in the car. I just didn't go this person. >> Faced with her friend's admissions, the woman in the pink hat showed no surprise, as if she was not unfamiliar with it. However, due to her potential involvement in the case, the police were forced to explain what she could be facing. >> So, I understand that. So, right now, you're just detained because of this entire investigation. >> She admitted to the stolen stuff being in your vehicle, so that's why we're just still here. Mhm. >> I feel me. >> We'll take it step by step. We're just not going to rush through everything. Okay. >> Where'd you pick her up from? >> From my house. >> I live in >> So, you live in Vinyl. Do you picked her up from her house? >> I'm putting my hood on if that's okay. >> That's fine. >> Yeah. Um Yeah. You want to just your car real quick? Yep. >> I'm not even parked by that store. So, how >> you guys are walking together? Both of you are just clean at this point. All right. So, we can go search the car. >> All right. Cuz you're going to be in the front. >> Well, can we go over there? Like, >> we're in the car so you guys can stay. >> So, what do we I I don't want to get in the car. I'm okay. >> So, you guys want to get in the car? Okay. >> So, what are we getting in the car? >> Search your car. >> Okay. Then after that, what's next? We'll then we'll go figure out what the value man of the shop with these items are. All right. >> You said we're getting a ticket, >> a glorified ticket. So, you guys are going to be arrested, charged on a selling service at the shop, and you'll be brought back to your car once we're done with the process. >> Okay. All right. I'm back in the car real fast. >> Shortly after, the suspects were handcuffed while another group of officers inspected the associated vehicle. The items inside clearly revealed the scale of the theft operation involved. Yeah, I just did a back of the hand to get the uh >> stuff out of her bag >> right here. >> Really? >> Good spot. >> Yeah. Could you just Yeah. Give us some space. Yeah. Well, that's up back there. There we go. Nothing. >> I'm sure that this is going to be shot as well. >> Yeah. Yeah. She's saying it's all all from uh Bronley Co. Factory. >> Tool. shoplifting tools. >> The woman was charged with shoplifting and conspiracy to commit theft. Involving yourself with people engaged in theft does not shield you from responsibility association and presence can still lead to serious legal consequences, especially when evidence links you to the crime scene or stolen goods. Next, this woman committed a crime because of her circumstances. Was that really a valid excuse? I just couldn't afford it and my food stamps at the moment and it's just been like really tough. I have a >> cold. So, what >> what's the deal? What what happened? >> On the 15th of January, 2022, officers responded to a report of a woman being detained by Walmart's loss prevention office for suspected shoplifting. But the bruise beneath her eye suggested there was more to the story. When officers arrived, she admitted everything. honestly took what I wasn't mind and I just scan and I shouldn't have and I should have paid for it all to be very honest. There's no excuse. >> Okay. >> All right. >> All right. We appreciate the honesty. >> Yeah. >> You're the first one to be honest about it. >> I mean, it's all it's all on video. It's fine. >> Really? Any reason as to why? I just couldn't afford it. I'm through food stamps at the moment and it's just been like really tough. I have a sick daughter. >> This isn't gonna help your situation at all. >> I know. My daughter is actually home right now with a awful fever and I've with her babysitter and it's just been like awful. Like we've just been going through a very tough time. >> How old is your daughter? >> She's two. >> She's two. Okay. >> So I just I'm not going to cry. >> Yeah. Just been a tough time for us and I was just trying to make her feel better honestly. But >> look at me real quick. >> Okay, we'll we'll have a conversation after this. >> Do you think she used her situation to gain sympathy as if she was preparing to beg for leniency? She even became upset [music] with the employee for calling the police shortly afterward. >> You literally told me, Tim, that you didn't call the police. Like, so that >> No, you told her. I get it. It's a job, but it's just a conversation of I even when it happened and I spoke, we talked about it. >> Look, we're we're beyond that, okay? >> Obviously, >> they have a job to do, okay? You still committed a crime, okay? >> And I'm aware of that. I'm fully aware of that. It's just the communication has been completely clear up until this point. So, that's my only issue that I'm having. >> You know, I hate it for you. >> No, that's fine. >> Like I said, I understand your situation, but you know better. Yeah. >> And he got caught and now you got to face the consequences, right? So, look, like I was saying, it's not a state charge. It's a city ordinance, which means it's not going on your record. Okay? Problem is now you have an established history. Okay. So, if you do this again and you get caught, it's going to be pulled up. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I think so. >> So, your daughter's too. What's your daughter's name? >> Alyssa. >> Alyssa. Okay. Are you in Roswell? >> Yeah. >> You are? >> Okay. Do you have any family in the area? >> Where you from? >> Pennsylvania. >> Pennsylvania. >> She repeatedly wiped away her tears, but they weren't tears of remorse for what she had done. Instead, she remained upset, insisting that the employee had lied to her. >> This is your This is your come to Jesus moment. Okay. No, it's not. It's very aggravating because this guy told me that I was waiting for a [ __ ] manager. No, I am going to blame him because he lied. I'd rather him have been honest and be like, "Okay, they are going to come. That's why you're waiting instead of me having to waste my money on an Uber that sat outside for literally 15 minutes and now you're telling like and now you're here." Like this is what's my problem. Like instead of that, I would have cancelled it. [snorts] Like it's just I don't like when people like if you're going to be honest, I'm already in a situation. I told you the truth. Like I [snorts] don't understand why you telling me that. I'm waiting for a manager that literally never showed up and now you guys are here. That's my issue. Like, and I feel like I have the right to be upset because I'm being lied to about something when I've been completely honest up until this point. Like until this point, I'm still honest. Like you I knew that I did something wrong. Like that's what I don't understand. Why not just be freaking honest? If your guys are going to come, then fine. I can let my babysitter know who I'm literally trying to get home to so I can go to the hospital to take my daughter. Now I have to go to court and spend extra money that I literally don't have. Like this is very aggravating. She still couldn't escape the consequences of her actions. While her difficult circumstances appeared to be genuine, she clearly could have chosen a different path to overcome them, couldn't she? The officers also offered her advice and guidance to help her move forward. [snorts] >> As far as that goes, look, I'm going to tell you this. There are things that you can do. There are shelters for women, and they'll take in kids, too, with you. Okay? I don't know who did it. I don't know if it was family. I don't know if it was ex-lover or current lover, whatever. But there are resources out there for that. Okay? And there are certain things that you can do like if you ever wanted to file a report wherever it happened, you can file report there and then you can take that report to a magistrate judge and magistrate court and start the process for a temporary protection order. Okay. All right. Hey, look at me. Look at me. I know it's hard. I know it's hard. Hey, but there are things you can do. There are resources out there for you. All right. And the quicker you can get out of whatever situation, the better life will get for you. You're going to you're going to have to bust your hump for it, but you want to try to get out of that. Okay. and let's let's try to get out of doing this kind of stuff because this isn't going to help you at all. It's going to make things more difficult than they already are and you need to do that especially with a sick 2-year-old. Okay. [clears throat] >> Okay. Let's get you out of here. >> There's your license. >> And you're also you're not being trespassed from the property. You just have to wait 24 hours before you can come back. Okay. >> [snorts] >> With just $51.59 worth of merchandise, she was charged with shoplifting, but was not banned from returning to Walmart. She was also released shortly afterward. What do you think about this case? [music] Do you believe the officers made the right decision? And how would you have handled the situation if you were in their position? Don't forget to share your thoughts in the comments. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground, bro. Watch out. On the 19th of April 2026, police were dispatched after an emergency call reported that a man had intentionally vandalized a smoke shop. When officers arrived, the suspect showed no signs of stopping, forcing them to move in and stop him immediately. >> He's trying to ignite with the light and he's throwing everything on the floor. Yo, police. What are you doing? >> Oh, man. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. >> My teddy bear. >> Get on the ground. >> My teddy bear. Get on the ground. >> You're under arrest. Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground, bro. Get on the ground. Don't walk near me. Get on the ground. >> You're under arrest. >> Get on the ground. You're under arrest. >> Sorry, bro. >> No, you're good. >> I need to go to the hospital. >> Oh, yeah. >> Obviously. won't lift your feet up. >> What's your name? >> Khalilu. >> Khalik. >> Khalu. >> Khalilu. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> When confronted by the officers, he remained completely calm as if nothing significant had happened. It was clear that he was not in a normal state of mind and he soon admitted to using an intoxicating substance. >> Did you take anything today? >> I smoked weed. >> You smoked weed? Okay. >> Have you ever had a weird reaction to weed? Yeah, I had a gun before. >> You had a gun? >> Yeah. >> Where is it? >> It's not It's not here. I don't have it. Okay. >> You can strip me if you want. >> All right. Stand up. >> Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. >> I'mma double lock these. >> Yep. >> Yo, I just got bags. >> Snows. [clears throat] I needed a bait. >> All right, stand in front of my car. We're going to finish searching you. Okay, clearly spread your feet real wide for me. >> Pepper spray, man. Sorry, brother. >> I'm feeling pretty good, though. >> It didn't have that much of an effect on you right now. You did good. Now, >> keep your feet spread for me. All right. Adrenaline. Yeah. Once >> that adrenaline goes down. Spread your legs a little bit, bro. A little bit more. His erratic behavior made it difficult for officers to escort him back to the patrol car. However, his attitude suddenly shifted and he became unusually quiet. Though that still did not make the investigation any easier [clears throat] here, turn around and sit with your feet out. Turn around now. Just sit. Just sit. Not all the way in. Just sit right there. Okay. >> All right. Watch your head. All right. Just stay like that for a minute so you get some air. Okay. Yeah, we're good, man. >> Now, I was actually like robbery. So, >> yeah. No, we're good. Thanks, bro. >> Do you guys smoke vapes? I don't smoke vapes no more. I smoke black and brown. >> Wrong place, right time, I guess. >> That was a perfect shot. >> Damn. [ __ ] on my face, too, bro. >> Yeah. We're going to go get you washed up. All right. >> We have to smack. >> What's that? >> Smoking. >> No, whatever. >> Yeah, whatever you smoked, man. You might have had some K2 in it or something. >> Something. >> Do you remember what happened? >> No. >> No. Black. >> Yeah. >> Shortly afterward, the officers returned to the smoke shop to assess the extent of the damage he had caused. >> Leave the Leave the door propped and maybe turn a fan on if you have one. >> Just give I have a AC turn off that. >> Yeah, that's fine. Just give us a running total of how much damage. >> Yeah, good luck with that. >> [laughter] >> Check out that over there >> all the way [clears throat] in the back. >> Yeah, come check that out. >> Uh, and I'm assuming all your cameras work, >> so we'll be able to get a copy of the whole video. Okay. >> All right. So, this officer is going to go through everything with you. >> Um, we're going to need a running total of >> the damage. >> I mean, I'm sure it's going to be several thousand. Just the MacBook alone is what? How much? >> 1,500. >> 1,500, right? Plus all your product that you're out of now. Your stands, your glass. [clears throat] Let's start with whose shop is it? >> Okay. Can you give him his information and then we'll get your guys' information and then maybe we can call you information. >> Smells like the boardwalk. >> Just a little sting. [cough] >> I've been I've been ripping cayenne pepper. >> Oh yeah. >> So it's kind of like just giving me that extra, you know, like >> Yeah. >> This part right here. What was he trying to light on fire? >> Yeah, what was he doing? >> Yo, uh, let him get the intro. >> Outside, the employee also gave a full statement about what had happened from the moment the suspect first arrived. >> I [clears throat] called you guys at 3:05, right? And he came in around 2:50, 2:45. >> Okay? >> And then he came in and he started asking for weight, right? The clear ice. And I was like, "You want money? I'll give it to you." And he was like, "I don't have money right now. Once I get it, I'll give I'll give it to you. Just give me the wave." I was like, "Sorry, I I cannot give it to you right now." He was just get the money. I'll give it to you. Then he started arguing with me and I told him, "Just leave other cops." He was arguing like continuously. So then he sat on the counter >> on the counter and he was grabbing a a cookie packet and he was leaving. He used to come before but like >> Oh, he was he was a customer. not regular customer but once in a month or twice in a month he used to come in and he he used to have money right then I used to give him things but now today he came in and he was like just give it to me just give it to me I don't have money I'll give it to later and I was like just get the money I'll give it to you and he even told me like if you don't give it to me there's a word that starts from K and ends with L. >> Oh >> I before that I told him if you if you don't leave I'll just call cops stop right he was like Just don't call them. Just give it to me. I'll leave. You know, like I cannot give it without money. >> Right. >> In the end, the man was charged with criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, resisting [music] arrest, and shoplifting. One reckless outburst can destroy property, endanger others, and leave you facing multiple criminal charges. >> She was in the store shopping some items concealed. >> You've been convicted of retail desk. >> Yeah. So, you need to make sure that >> on the 7th of April 2025, police were dispatched to a Kroger after reports of a theft. The woman suspected of the crime panicked so badly when she was caught that she could not stop eating to keep herself calm. Here's what happened when officers arrived at the scene. >> Hello. >> Appreciate your time. Thank you. >> This she was in the store shopping, collected some items, concealed them in her purse, stopped her, and then she neared the foyer. >> Okay. Okay. She did purchase a few items in the bag of her items. Um I don't know if she's in right now. Um she's been cooperative since she's been up here. Got her information. She does have a photo identification. I completed the in house retail pet report and I did issue her trespass as well. Okay. >> She's not she's advised that she's not allowed to photo property any >> um >> I'll make you some copies of those. >> Okay. >> Can I see your ID? >> Right. right here. >> And there I know. >> I know. >> Thank you. >> Supposed to go upstairs right now. >> You got anything else in your purse? >> No, thank you. >> Her emotions had already become an indirect confession to the theft. However, they also made it difficult for officers to gather a statement from her and it seems she had no intention of stopping her stress eating. >> She has had a previous conviction for theft. >> Any amount of retail theft is a felony. >> Have you been convicted of retail theft? >> So, you need to make sure that you need to make sure of that. So, what would you do? >> Ask this much. >> Yeah. But what would you ask them for? to run a CQ. Okay. So, >> Marian 39, can you run a CQ on Aaron and advise if there's been any theft convictions in the past? >> Okay. >> Sorry. Yeah. Your seat don't just fine. >> Okay. Well, she's got to check it. She's in training, so that's why I'm trying to teach her up. So, >> are you still staying at America's Best? >> No, I stay at my grandpa. >> Huh? My grandpa's. >> Where's that at? >> Your >> How'd you get here? >> This is a chosen value without tax. >> Okay. I was here. That's >> Thank you. >> Porsche's house. >> Porsche who? >> Huh? >> Where's that at? >> Okay. >> What apartment is that? From her neat clothing to her tidy hairstyle, she did not look like a shoplifter at all. But appearances can be deceiving as officers discovered this was not the only time she had stolen that day. >> So they said, "Can you check her?" Because >> I forgot her name. Shane, >> so apparently Walgreens, sorry. Walgreens just called and said that she was stealing stuff from Walgreens. >> Okay. You want me to snatch her up? >> Open tomorrow. No, I [clears throat] mean, but if you can just >> I've got her information. It's Shane something. So, the guy on the bike that I got earlier from this, >> that's his girlfriend and she's standing outside behind Kroger just tripping balls. >> Yeah. Well, apparently she apparently when we walked in, one of the ladies was like, "Hey, this lady on the side of the building, they called and warned us that she would come over here and steal a bunch of stuff cuz they just kicked her out of Walgreens for stealing." So that might be a good little foot stop. >> She was honoring me. >> Yeah. Hey, do you have any needles in here that I'm going to get stuck with? >> That bag I just bought. >> Okay. >> I don't have any. >> Okay. We're going to get you a refund on all the items that you purchased here today. Okay. They're not going to take the needles at the jail. they're going to throw them away. So, I'd rather you get your money back than >> Thank you, Mom. >> In fact, the woman was not unable to pay for the items or facing any immediate lack of money as officers soon discovered she was carrying a noticeable amount of cash among her belongings. >> Stick I'm going to stick the change and the cash in your purse. Okay. Or in your wallet. >> I'll run to the pharmacy real quick. >> Thank you. All right. So, >> if you want, go ahead, take her down there with you. >> Okay. >> Um, and you can start scratching her out a ticket for uh possession or I'm sorry, just go ahead and get her for retail theft. >> Okay. >> And it's going to be I'll show you the charge. Just But just start here. just started thinking about her. >> Shortly afterward, she was escorted outside and continued expressing her belated remorse. >> All right, be careful down these steps. Okay. >> I wish I had break my head. >> Here, I'm hold on to you so you don't fall. >> Okay. >> I've always been cooperating. >> Yeah, you're doing that. >> I just don't want you to fall. I'm already on pre-al services and they're not going to let me hang on. Let me check this really quick. I don't >> All right. Go ahead, sister. All right. Sit back just a little bit. There you go. Great. >> How long you been out? A >> week. I was supposed to go to pretty foul services tomorrow. I didn't make it. >> All right. Well, we'll let them know you're here. >> In the end, [music] the woman was charged with retail theft. One bad decision can quickly lead to serious consequences. Trying to cope with stress through harmful choices only makes problems worse. Taking responsibility early and seeking help is always better than risking your freedom.
