Yes. >> On the 30th of September 2024, officers approached two women shortly after they exited a retail store with a baby stroller. However, the truth was that some merchandise had been concealed underneath the stroller. The officers immediately arrested both women. >> Do not resist. >> Do not resist. I'm telling you right now, do not resist. right now. >> I got this. I got this on. >> Stop tensing up, y'all. >> Fancy off. I'm telling you right now. >> Be fancy up. I'm telling you right now. Which channel they gave us? Try those fish. Try those fish. at home. >> She appeared worried about her baby, but in reality, there was no child in the stroller at all. It seemed she was simply using it as an excuse to make things more difficult for the officers. >> Where's the baby? >> My baby. My baby. My baby. >> Where's your baby? >> My baby, please. >> My baby, please. Please. There. Where's her baby? ID. >> Okay. Okay. Location. Okay. Good. Yo, you have that PR ID woman. going through the window real quick. item. >> Yeah. Stroller, but nobody. >> After that, the loss prevention officer arrived at the scene and pointed out their actions based on what he had observed on the surveillance footage. >> Well, they went in the f with two pair and came out with nothing. >> Okay, gotcha. >> So, you can actually see >> my my understanding is that the one wearing all black make the concealment right underneath the stroller. >> Uh, yeah. Let me see. >> What did the other female take? Uh, I didn't see her take anything. >> Was she just pushing? >> No, she's pushing through. You see her take those items over >> some kind of duffel bag, but she's right there doing it. So, >> yeah. >> And then she arranges the bag, covers it up. So, >> Okay. >> And then she's the one walking out with pushing the stroller. Okay. Okay. >> They both and the two glasses. Sunglasses. >> Yeah. Let me >> Yeah. All right. Kelly, >> we didn't have a case. So, that's not ours. >> Uh, no. These are not ours. >> Okay. >> These are guests. So, she may have them on or in her bag. >> Oh, this right here. >> Yeah. So, she had these in her bag. A large amount of merchandise was believed to have been taken from Louis Vuitton, including sunglasses and clothing. The suspects were then separated for questioning, but neither seemed willing to admit to what they had done. foreign. She doesn't know which one's hers. Just try to press a little more to try to figure out what's what that she took. You want to take them in or you can just go look at the cameras if she wish. So, is there something called American? >> There's an American. >> She's saying those are her glasses. She didn't pay for those. She to go back to both stores to pay for these items. That's what she said. Have the fun for something wrong with the car. The plan became clear to the officers. One woman concealed the merchandise while the other helped by pushing the stroller and taking it out of the store. Meanwhile, their vehicle was also searched as officers suspected it contained more merchandise from other brands. >> Oh, but they don't want to prosecute either. >> Yeah, you can see the tag right there. >> Looks like a tag. >> It looks like a Lacass tag, >> but you can see you see how right here there's a hanger. You can see a piece of >> Yeah, I see that. >> No, blue. Yeah, blue polo. It looks like >> it's not really >> It's not really there, but >> Yeah. >> Can we make sure there's not a baby in there? >> Yeah. Where is the baby? >> Well, after she's complaining about now to pick him up. >> Yeah. >> Um, do me a favor. Snap a picture of the uh of the tag. >> He's already got it written down for you. We already ran it. Make sure you get >> that. We just want to notate that on the report. >> Um >> at some point we need to get the uh purse off of her. >> Yes. Yes. We definitely uh got to keep that in mind. Ma'am this way. In addition, officers found a wallet on the other woman showing that she did not have enough money to pay for the merchandise. The officer counting the cash in English also revealed that she clearly understood English. >> What we do is in front of the cameras, we count it in front of her. Okay. Okay, >> ma'am. We're going to count the money in front of you. Okay. Is this all the cash you have? See, >> see. All right, ma'am. Seenora, count them out in front of you. Okay. 1 2 3 4 5 100 20 40 60 80 90 92 93 94 95 5 95 Yes, ma'am. Okay. >> Yes. >> So that's what you want to do every time this comes up. Okay. But from there, this is your phone number. Okay. What is What is this? >> Is this In the end, the two women were charged with theft and organized retail theft. The lesson is that knowingly helping someone remove stolen merchandise can still make you legally responsible, even if you never personally concealed the items. And when surveillance clearly captures your actions, denying your involvement may not make the situation any better. Sir, I didn't know >> like we was stealing like what pressure head we were stealing. >> I know it's neither one of you two, but it's a new credit card. >> What is that? >> I don't know. >> On the 26th of February, 2026, officers stopped a vehicle after suspecting the people inside were involved in a theft that had occurred at a local Menard's. Things seemed even more suspicious when as soon as the officers approached her, she immediately denied several things at once. >> What's going on? >> Thank you. >> Oh, no. I just what? I just went I went to Menard to find me a furniture um cleaner, whatever. I didn't find one. I left out. That's it. >> All right. We don't got nothing from >> Okay, I get that. Who Who is trying to buy something at Menard's? >> We going to buy a We didn't get a chance using what? Using credit. >> No, we going to pay for it with our money. We just got our taxes. >> Okay. >> I got Did you get both our IDs? >> You got my ID. I ain't go up in there and touch nothing. She didn't have an ID, but we got we >> did try to pass. >> What the [ __ ] >> Where's the ID that you guys ripped out of her hand? [clears throat] >> I DIDN'T I WAS TALKING TO HER. I DIDN'T GO TO NO register or nothing. >> Huh? >> I didn't go I didn't go pay for nothing. I didn't go to no register. >> That lady is nothing. >> I didn't go to no >> [ __ ] We was stealing like what precious man we was stealing. >> No, you're good. I'm just gonna right here. >> All right. They're going to come and do some kind of show up. I wasn't over there, but they got video of everything. Okay. >> If you use some kind somebody else's ID to try to purchase something, it is what it is. Okay. We're going to figure it out. Um, but that's why we're here. Okay. So, um, it's not the end of the world. It's not nothing crazy. Somebody snatched an ID out of somebody else's hand. >> No. Y'all can search this whole car. Search everything. I don't have nothing. All right. We may end up doing that. And we may end up taking everyone to the station. [laughter] >> For what? >> For an investigation. >> An investigation for Okay, I'm fine. >> All right. Perfect. >> After the suspect stepped out of the vehicle, the search began and the woman's identity became even more suspicious when officers found documents bearing the name Kesha Smith. Oh, got nothing in my car. My keys be up in here. My baby go f down the street and that's why I was on my way. >> I went out pick up a wall off the floor. I don't know. >> I like >> I don't know. >> Who's this? >> What's your name? >> It's Damon. I'm going >> Danielle. What? What's your name? >> Angelica. >> Okay. >> Who's Kesha Smith? >> Kisha. Who? That was a contract been coming up. >> That was somebody else. >> Yeah. >> So, who bought stuff from Menard's using Aishha Smith? >> That was for pickup. >> Okay. >> Not me. >> Neither one. Nobody here. But the receipts in your purse for Aishha Smith. >> That ain't my purse. This one. That's yours. Okay. I love it. So, where's Kesha Smith's ID? >> Ain't no Kha Smith. I thought the lady's name was Patricia. >> See, I ain't trying to play games. >> The The lady's sale name was Patricia. >> All right. I'm just let >> you know why we're Okay. All right. What's this? For stealing stuff. >> You know what? If you didn't know, what the officers had just found was a tool specifically designed to remove security tags from clothing. Just having it could leave the woman facing a charge for possession of burglary tools, which could carry up to 5 years in prison and $5,000 in fines under Florida statute section 810.06. But what the officers found didn't stop there. >> Who's this? Is that your card though? What it say? >> I know it's neither one of you two, but it's a new credit card. >> What it say? >> I don't know. >> [ __ ] >> Who knows Ivan? >> I don't know. No Ivan. >> Nobody knows no Ivan. Someone applied for a credit card in Ivan's name. >> That must have came in the mail. Don't you think if somebody applied for it, they would have went and used it. >> Might not have got a chance to yet. Who's Booker Ray? >> Two different people applied for credit cards with stuff in your car. >> And it's neither one of you two car. >> Whose car is this? >> It's in my I mean that's this my car but I don't I ain't applying for nothing. I don't do that none of that type of stuff. Somebody in your car is not it's in your car. >> We're not stupid. >> I'M NOT TELLING YOU. I'M BEING honest with you. I'm honest with you. >> All right. You guys are on mad at us. >> I know you guys are on though. When you mad at us? >> No, I'm not mad at you. >> All right. I can't wait to go back. >> It's just annoying having to deal with this stuff all the time and them people playing stupid. >> What officers found in the car suggested they had uncovered a larger fraud operation, but the suspects never admitted anything, leaving officers to rely on the evidence and their suspicions. >> All that up in there, that's mad. That's my insurance. >> Okay. >> I ain't fried on no insurance. Hey, you all together. >> This is crazy. >> I know it is crazy. We ain't trying to deal with all this either. >> But you both know why we here. >> Yeah, but we didn't do nothing. We could We look If we could have We didn't do nothing. >> We literally left out, sir. I'm telling you. >> I know you left out. >> I'm telling you the truth. You told me to be honest. We >> But the intent is there. The intent is there. >> No, we First of all, we ain't to do nothing cuz they won't let you attempt to do nothing. was already on like on us type. I'm being honest. >> Why was they on you? >> Why were they on you guys for me to be honest? >> Yeah, >> I did. >> All right. >> I'm just saying don't act don't act don't act like you know we don't know why we're here. >> I'm being honest. >> Okay. >> We literally walked out like >> went in there. >> I left out. That was it. >> I just I'm being honest. [ __ ] You told me to be honest. Be honest. >> Okay. >> We ain't got nothing. We ain't touch nothing. Like what? Like what? >> Who's this? You got another one. And you you said this everything inside here is yours, right? >> Who's Karen? Another Visa card. >> That's not Karen. >> Trey ass. >> No. >> A [ __ ] >> That's not Trey. This is a female. >> No, that's Trey. That's her [ __ ] >> Ain't nothing ain't nothing. Ain't nothing. >> Another one. >> Who said that? Another one. >> What? >> [laughter] >> DJ. >> Oh, that's my DJ. >> You're Angelica Ray. >> Yeah. >> All right. >> And if you forget that's my daughter. >> Okay. >> That's my >> officers could only confirm three IDs while the identities on all the other documents remained unknown. So they decided to detain the [music] woman and take her to the station. I'm 43, too. I >> No, you're good for a minute. Just relax. Okay. >> I ain't even did nothing. >> Yeah, you've been cool. Just relax. [snorts] And what guy were you guys with? >> The other guy that was with you guys in the Jeep. Like I say, we know a little bit more than you guys think we know here, right? Is we didn't just show up here by chance. Who's the guy that you were with in the Jeep? >> I I was I came in my own car. I came up there. >> I understand that. You came with her in the car and the guy in the Jeep was also with you guys. So, right now you're not in handcuffs, so everything is going smooth here, but I'm asking for a little cooperation. Who's the guy that you were with? Let's figure it out. >> I don't know him. >> You don't know him? Okay. >> We have another guy's name, Trey, that was on some old city car. I don't know if that's the guy. >> I'm being I'm being like, I'm trying to sort this whole That's why you're not in handcuffs right now, right? Cuz we're trying to sort this man out here on the street. Say what I'm saying? >> Daniel Maxwell. The difference between going to house and going to the police station, not being able to pick up your kid and getting your car towed. It's a little bit of cooperation, right? >> Okay. >> I mean, take my car. >> It's a possibility. >> What I But what did I do? I didn't need to do much. I went into that bathroom. >> So, that's why we're trying to figure this out. Okay. >> Okay. You could take me back right then. >> You guys got cages. >> The woman clearly wasn't innocent either. She kept complaining and expressing her frustration, but the officers eventually showed that she would face the same fate. Central 26 25 stops. Can you >> I ain't even had nobody out. >> Well, we're going to have to figure it out. >> Other people's cars in your car >> on what? This This is crazy. I ain't nobody's stuff. I went up in the sto I'm just I went up >> I'm going to give you two pairs so it's comfy for you. Okay. I'm going to give you two pairs of handcuffs so it's more comfortable for you. Okay, >> just relax. This is what's happening. Okay. >> Oh, really? >> But what I'm going You could >> because you're not new to this. >> You could I promise to God on my baby. So I came up here. >> This is your car, right? >> Yes. Can I call my people? My baby. My baby calls at the station. >> Where's When's your baby supposed to be picked up at >> at 4:30? You can go take me back to this store and this lady will tell you. I ain't walk up to her. I I walked out. I ain't go to no. >> Other people's identities and cards inside your car. It's your car. >> It's not mad though. >> Investigation right now. not going to get up to >> contact all these people. >> This is crazy as hell cuz I >> suck. I agree. Nobody wants to deal with this. You think we want to deal with this too? But you guys both on. So that's why we're here. >> Well, I'm on my voice. I got a purse full of money. I went in there and buy something. >> You want me to put her in my car? >> All right. Just let me know. Oh, that's my purse right there. Nothing in that purse. Anything in there that >> Can you give me my wallet with my card and all that stuff on there? >> Yeah, you can take >> You want me to take her? >> Huh? >> We're going to bring it to the station. >> Okay. >> In the end, both women were charged with retail theft and multiple counts of ID and credit card fraud. The lesson is simple. Denying everything won't make the evidence disappear. When officers find multiple IDs and credit cards belonging to other people, the truth can quickly catch up with you. >> I got this. >> Stop. You're not free to go. You're going >> Okay. Okay. Okay. >> Stop. I thought you I thought you I thought you >> sir. Please give me a chance. I will pay the double triple. >> You had that chance, >> sir. Come on, man. >> On the 7th of July 2025, police received a report from a Walmart store about a theft that had taken place. A man was caught on camera wearing sunglasses and a ski mask, seemingly trying to hide his identity. He repeatedly stuffed merchandise into several large bags with no intention of paying. He even deliberately ignored the officers when they ordered him to stop. >> Hey, come here. You're not free to go. >> Yes, please. >> Hey, stop. >> Stop. You're not free to go. You're going >> Okay. Okay. Okay. Stop. I told you. I told you. I told you. I failed. I stop. I pay. Sir, >> go with you. I can I cannot pay. >> Put your hands behind your back. I got to pay. >> Put your hands behind your back. I swear to God. >> Put your hands behind your back. You know what I did? I did this. >> Stop. >> I told you what happened last time. >> Turn around. >> I told you what happened last time. >> Turn around and put your hands behind your back. >> They stole my bike. >> I don't care. Turn around and put your hands behind your back. Do you want to go on the ground? >> No. No. I I go down. I go down. Okay. I >> turn around. Hands behind your back. >> Both hands. >> Stop. Don't move. No. No. No. Hey, you know what? I too. >> Yeah, you're going to pay then. Why'd you run? >> Yeah. >> Don't move. >> Stop moving. >> I'm not I'm in the morning, sir. >> Sorry. >> I'll be right back. Just meet me in the office, please. >> It's all right. I said nothing. Thanks. Hey, thanks for my buying. I said I got you. I tell you my back. I >> I don't care right now. >> Don't answer. Hey, I'm walk. Yeah. No, I I'm really sorry, bro. Hey, >> it wasn't that serious. It didn't have to be this big. I know. We made it that big. >> No, I know. But you know, I tell you, too. That's what happened. >> Okay, we'll talk in a second, but hold on. He clearly knew that he was doing something wrong. Yet, he showed no shame at all. Even in the loss prevention office, he continued making his pleas without the slightest hesitation. >> So, right now, you're under arrest for theft third and obstruction. Do you understand, >> sir? I can pay, sir. >> I do. You understand? >> Sir, >> do you understand? Yes or no? >> Sir, I'm working, sir. >> Okay. You are under arrest. You understand? >> So, please give me another chance. I say I never have a problem in here, sir. I swear to God. Come on. >> Your chance was to stop when I told you to stop and you took off running through the parking lot. >> I got scared, sir. >> Well, >> please. Hey, I just started working, sir. I swear I got I got the money to pay. Hey, please believe me. You can check my I give him my ID and and check it out and I have no problem with with the police and anything. >> Uhhuh. >> Hold on. >> Give me a chance. I swear. Sorry. >> So, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against unicore law. You have the right at this time to talk to a lawyer and have them present with you while you're being questioned. If you can afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed represent you before questioned if you wish. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and I answer any questions or make any statement. >> Do you understand each of these rights as I've explained? >> Yes, sir. I understand. >> Having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to us? >> Sir, please give me a >> I need a yes or no. Do you want to talk to us? >> Sorry. Here. I don't hear what you're saying. Sorry. Can you repeat it one more time? >> Do you want to talk to us? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> At the moment, the man appeared very cooperative with the officer, but in reality, he kept trying to avoid the issue. He even brought up a previous incident to turn the accusation back on the store. >> I going to say really sorry, April. Hey, you know what? >> Do you have any idea on you? >> I was telling the officer last time I I come here, I did my bag outside and someone stole my bag with on my >> Okay, that's not what we're That's not what we're talking about here. We're talking about you shoplifting today. >> Oh, yes. Yes. I got ID, sir. >> Where is it? >> On my back. On my wallet. >> On this side. >> I sit down. >> Yes, sir. >> Is it okay if I get your ID? >> Sure. Sure. Sure. Sir, >> you have all this money and yet you decided to run. >> Hey, I I going to put some money on my cash app. >> Run it. >> What's your first name? >> Oscar. >> What's your date of birth? >> 5685. >> Yeah. >> Please give me one chance. I just start working. I swear I got him. I tell you double whatever I pay, bro. I pay you whatever. Double double for that. Come on, man. >> Man, come on. Can you pull here? >> Victor Edward Robert Adam Roberts Oscar? >> Yeah. 565. >> Oscar, have you ever been trespassed from here before? I don't think so, sir. >> No. >> You got any weapons on you or anything like that? >> Yeah, I think I got I got a taser. No. Uh, it might be on my on my Yeah, on my right. Yeah, right there. Right there. >> Pretty much. That's That's what I have. >> No knives or nothing. >> No. No. No. No. What's this? >> I don't know. >> You don't know? It's in your pocket. >> Uh oh [ __ ] Yeah, I know. I know. >> Oh, you know exactly what that is. Oh [ __ ] >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I know. I know. Yeah. >> When all of the man's attempts were dismissed by the officer, that did not mean he would stop. A familiar plea often used by criminals using difficult circumstances as an excuse was also brought up by him. >> You don't got to tell me anything, >> sir. Please give me a chance. I will pay the double triple. >> You had that chance, >> sir. Come on, man. Give me a chance. I start working, sir. >> Awesome. >> They're going to fire me. >> Well, clearly working didn't improve what your life because you're not you're still stealing >> and you're still running away from us. >> Come on. Hey, >> $14. Oscar, how much money do you have in your wallet right there? >> Well, more $14. Yeah. >> Give me a chance. I swear I got for my mom. I got my my mom my mom is safe. >> Seems as though you've had a lot of chances and you're still not learning from them. So, >> my mom is safe and I got to help her, you know. I got my wife and my my kids, too, you know. Please, boss, give me a chance. I will never do it again. I swear. >> Ironically, when the man used his family as an excuse to get out of trouble, the officers discovered that he had a criminal history involving his own family. >> Let's see if he's done it before. >> You ever been stopped by the Federal Way Police Department? >> For who? >> The Federal Way Police Department. >> Yes, sir. >> You have for what? >> Um for um my probation. I didn't go to my probation. >> Mhm. >> I got arrested last that the last time that I got >> So you got arrested on a warrant last time. >> Uhhuh. >> What is the warrant for? >> For u viol my correction. >> What were you on probation for? >> D domestic violence. >> Domestic violence. >> And they got some time but they let let him go. They you know our brother by by the >> Oscar. What color is your hair? Black. >> Excuse me. >> What color is your hair? Black. black. >> Yeah. And do you know what the difference between those people are Oscar and you is they stop and they come into the office, they get a trespass and they go on their way. >> It would have been that simple. >> All you had to do is stop. >> Okay. Okay. Just one example. >> I would I wouldn't be out of breath right now if you would have stopped. Yeah. >> How far away you do you think I can run with the stat? >> You want me to measure? It was about 50 yards. Any involvement? >> Huh? >> Any involvements? >> Uh, about 70 >> possession stolen property, assault, PSP. >> That was the time they I think that was the time. >> Order violations, weapon offenses. I don't want I don't want to hear. I don't >> Awesome. Great Oscar. I don't care. >> You remember I told you to send my back? That was the time. >> Okay. You've you clearly haven't learned your lesson ever. You've been to jail multiple times. I mean, a plethora of times. And yet, here you are still doing the same thing, saying, "I've learned. I'm going to learn. Please give me a chance. Give me a chance." How many chances have we given you? >> A ton. >> So, I don't believe one word that's coming out of your mouth. >> 70 arrests for criminal offenses. That was the number the officers discovered. Yet, the man still showed no remorse. He seemed to treat the whole thing like a walk in the park, continuing to beg for another chance right up until the very end. >> What did I tell you you're under arrest for when we got in into the office? >> For run. >> What what what were the charges that I told you? >> For running. >> For theft three. >> Oh, theft three. Yes, sir. >> And what was the other one? >> And >> and obstruction. >> Obstruction. >> Because you ran. >> Right. We're not here today because of the decisions we made. Yes. >> We're here because of the decision you made. And you're being held accountable for that decision. >> I am a mistake. So come on, man. Please. One more chance. For real. You're not going to see me again doing this. I swear to God. >> You got any weapons in any of your bags or anything like that? >> Uh, not really. I got a my hand. >> You have a hammer and which one? This one >> and that one. >> What about in all this? The weapons in there? >> Just clothes? No. No. My clothes. >> Just clothes. >> Yes, sir. the door. You know, >> you got any more drug paraphernalia anywhere in any of this stuff? No. >> No. No. >> Oh, no. Not that I remember, sir. >> That not that you remember? >> Yeah. Yeah. I only >> Oh, there's another pipe. >> Oh, yeah. But that's I'm not going to throw That's can go to the garbage. I don't really >> Oh, I can go to the trash. >> Yeah. Throw the garbage. The other one, too. For real. Like, you know, I don't need them, you know. >> Yep. All right. Stand up. >> Roll out this way. Can >> I grab that? >> [clears throat] >> All right, we're going to go ahead and sit in here for right now. Okay, >> sit down and I'm going to seat belt you. >> All right. >> Okay, Oscar. So, here's the deal. He's going to cut you a sight and you're going to be released. Okay. So, you're going to get a court date on that site. If you do not show up to that court date on that site, a warrant will be issued for your arrest again, just like all the other ones. Do you understand? >> Okay. So, you're going to get on your way with just this trespass and that site. >> Okay. Then to the court. >> In the end, the man was charged with thirdderee theft and obstruction. What do you think about the officer's final decision? Given the man's history and behavior, do you think this was a deserved outcome? And is there anything else you noticed? Don't forget to like the video and leave a comment to let us know what you think. >> You Natasha, ain't you? >> No, sir. I'm not Natasha. >> You're not you. Natasha. >> No, sir. >> Yeah. >> What's your daughter's name? STREET. >> On the 7th of November 2025, officers approached a woman suspected of involvement in a shoplifting escape. Do you know >> the address? >> Mhm. I don't I know it's the great house sitting at the corner cuz I just moved in with them so I don't really know. >> Although she appeared cooperative in providing information. The woman was actually quite familiar to the officers who even knew her real name to uncover her criminal history. Do you got a warrant on uh Natasha Nash? >> Natasha Nash. >> I think this looks like her. She's giving me a different name but a >> little more than others. >> She ain't Myique. Yeah. It's going to be her. She pro she probably about to take off on me. I'm going to see if I can get her. I'm going to try it. All right, Kimble. >> Yeah, right. Hold on. >> I'm on Crowd Street right here. I'm with her. All right. Look up at me. >> Yes, sir. Okay. >> Yes, sir. I'm standing there in the shade. >> Okay. Okay. >> Okay. I got you. All right. You Natasha, ain't you? >> No, sir. I'm not Natasha. >> You're not. You Natasha? >> No, sir. >> Yeah. >> What's your daughter's name? >> I don't have no daughter. >> No daughters? >> No, sir. I don't have a son. >> You don't have a son? >> Yes, sir. I'm not Natasha. >> All right. You got any You got any proof of ID? No sir ID. >> Zero proof ID. Why you got chicken in your pocketbook? >> Cuz I had my bug my bag had bust and I on the way back. >> But you still got that back there. >> I just I just kept it cuz it was heavy. No. >> Where did you get it from? >> I went to Harvest. I just came from Harvest to go get some food. I went got some buns and the fries and chicken and but I my bag got bought so I put my stuff some of the stuff over here cuz I was walking through the bag. But >> yeah. Stand right here just a second. You you don't stay on Glendale? >> No sir. >> Not no more. >> No, I never stay. >> What's your husband name? >> I don't have no husband. I'm not married. >> Not married. >> I've never been married. No sir. >> Yeah. >> Thus, the woman deliberately concealed her identity, even denying being a mother or a wife. However, shortly after, she began to change her statements. >> Right now, you're being detained. >> For what? >> So, you just stand by that here for just a second and I'll get you on your way. >> No, I got I wonder why. Because it's >> Yeah, because you are you appear to be someone that we're looking for. >> Oh, no. I don't know who that is. I can't say mean I'm not do the person you look for. I got >> Stand by just a second. Man, my kids is over there, man. Sir, and I know, sir. >> I stay right there. I don't even know what this is. Glendale right here. See, I I don't even know. Uh-uh. How y'all detaining me and I don't even know. Let me call my kids. This is crazy. I don't understand. >> Stand right here. Wait with me. Get out of the road. Get out of the road. >> Come on. They trying to detect. >> Uh I'm trying to look for a picture of her. She She definitely appears to be her and she's walking off and everything like that. It appears to be Natasha Nash and she's walking off. >> While the [snorts] officers were attempting to verify her information, the woman displayed multiple suspicious signs and shortly after a tense pursuit ensued. She's right down street. Hey, HEY, HEY, HEY. GET OUT. GET OUT ON THE GROUND. DO NOTHING. >> GET ON THE GROUND NOW. NOW. GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND NOW. >> NOW. ON THE GROUND. >> GET ON THE GROUND NOW. GET ON THE [screaming] GROUND. >> WHY ARE YOU HOLDING ME LIKE THAT? WHY? >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> MY KIDS. >> GET ON THE GROUND NOW, >> SIR. I DIDN'T DO THE GROUND. OH, SO HARD. >> OH, I didn't do nothing. >> I got behind the behind the old Mexican restaurant. >> Anybody get in here? Put your hand behind me. >> This very act of fleeing made everything worse, and it implicitly admitted that she carried guilt. Yet, she still showed no remorse and continued to portray herself as the victim. Get us starting to run. Stand up. Have asthma running. >> Let's go. >> I hear a taser pro. >> Get a red light, but I >> Yeah. You smoke and you just run. You do that. Stand up. >> Stand up. >> Okay. Okay. Sir, [screaming] >> stand up. >> Yes, you can. >> Hey, you about TO GET IT AGAIN. YOU just stand by. >> I'm going I'm going to do this. >> Stand up, Natasha. >> Yeah. Sit down. >> Right here. Sit on your butt. >> Hold back. Right here. >> Sit down. Right here. Sit down. >> Sit all the way down. I got you. Go ahead and roll with it. >> It was evident that the woman had nothing but deception. And shortly after the medical team arrived and confirmed that her condition was merely a ploy and you know you know I always give you ample opportunity. I always gave you >> 82. >> This old man I was coming out the red lights old man pull over. I had to go through the courthouse for grass. >> Happens like every time. >> Perfect. >> Um she uh she run from Crowder Street. got right here. I shot her with a taser. One probe hit her jacket. One probe hit her um left uh left leg. Uh she didn't hit the didn't hit the ground or nothing like that, but it got her attention enough for her to stop running. >> So um she was good on breathing uh for the 75 yard sprint there. >> My chest hurt. >> Yeah, my chest be hurt too if I ran that far. >> You have any medical problems? took the sun over there. >> Yeah, she got it. >> I'm good, man. >> I'm Yeah. Yeah. >> Need you to take some short deep breaths cuz it's just your heart rate's a little elevated, but everything else is good. >> All right. Well, I'm going to put you in the truck and do a 12 lead, but if it's normal, I'm going to let you go with them. Okay. That's where we at right now. You need a >> Yeah, if you don't mind. >> I don't think 144. >> Nobody's laughing at you. You're >> laughing at him. Heart rate. >> My heart rate's higher than yours is. >> But I said, you know, I don't never get you no problem. So, YOU KNOW, >> YOU AIN'T never gave me no problem. That's why I can't understand why you run from me. >> In the end, she was charged with retail theft, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice in addition to her active warrants. Running only made her situation worse. Honesty and accountability from the start could have prevented far more serious consequences. >> You have the receipt for this stuff. >> Yes. >> Okay. I'm sorry. I apologize. I really didn't. I scanned my brush. >> On the 17th of January 2025, police received a report call from Walmart regarding a suspected shoplifting incident. The suspects were believed to be a woman and a man who had failed to pay for all the items they had taken. These were the events that unfolded as police approached the suspects. >> Please. >> Okay. >> Okay. We're going to walk back to the asset protection office. Okay. >> Okay. >> It's all right. Right now, you're beyond the rest of retail back. >> I paid for everything. You do. >> We're going to follow them. Okay. >> I I had to pay for my Are you kidding me? >> Hey, don't play games. >> I'm not. >> Okay. So, we're going to follow them to the asset protection office. Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. We can >> um Can I at least get this paid for so we can take my truck? >> You can worry about that here in a minute. Okay. >> Okay. So, hold it then or how does this work? >> Did you pay for that yet? >> I'm trying. I'm getting it. My card's locked. I can't get it unlocked. So, my friend's taking care of it. >> Leave it. We'll We'll take care of this. >> All right. Perfect. >> I'll see you in a minute, I guess. >> Yeah. >> Why is he coming to >> Hey, don't worry about it. Don't be mauy. >> Oh, I'm more than that cuz I have receipts for everything. >> That's perfectly fine. Both suspects denied the allegations that were raised. And even after being taken to the police station, they still showed confidence as if they had been prepared in advance. >> Okay. >> I don't mind. I got one on here. >> It's okay. You got your receipt for the transaction. >> Which one? I did a couple. I have several receipts. >> You also need the receipt you grabbed off of the register you walked. >> Oh, that's fine. I just grab grab that for fetch cuz I use a fetch point. One second. It's not >> did you drive here? >> No. Did you drive here? >> Okay. >> Hey, there's stuff in there. >> Okay. And where? >> What is in my purse? >> Perfume. >> That's mine from Bath & Body Works. So, please look again. >> Yeah. We don't steal [ __ ] We >> It's from Bath and Body Works. You >> have the receipt for this stuff? >> Yes. All right. Good news. I've never been caught for stealing a thing in my life. >> Oh, this was the one I took off for the fetch points for the records that I pulled off the register. That was this one. Okay, there you go. Then I got these are these. >> Okay, these this is not one here. This is this >> we were just paying for the dog food, the oil change, the candles, >> and then there was other stuff. >> This is the stalker. Receipts were presented as if they would clear her of the accusations, but in reality, additional stolen items were brought out, forcing her to change her statement. >> What was tax switched? Very obviously. >> Yeah, I I'll admit that. >> I'm feeling so you can say I didn't feel all you want, but >> Okay. No, I didn't. One, I wasn't going to say that. I didn't do that, but he had no part of it. He didn't even know what was going on. >> He was with you the entire time. >> No, he wasn't. That last half, you can watch. He walked back the entire time. >> Good. Went back to >> Ma'am. Ma'am, what's your first name? >> Abby Malo. >> Abby, please stand up and come over here, please. >> Okay. Put your hands behind your back. Reach out. >> Okay. >> But really, he had nothing. She had no idea I was going to do it. I promise. Not that my promise means anything, but it doesn't. This way doesn't tighten up on you. Yep. >> Anything else on your person that's going to hurt me publicly speak to me? >> I believe so. >> The man buried his face in his hands, seemingly ashamed of the woman's lies. However, she was not and instead began offering apologies without showing any real remorse. >> Oh, that one I honestly totally never forget. Sorry. I got this. All right. >> You got 11 out of 14. >> Okay. I'm sorry. I apologize. I really didn't. I scanned my brush. >> I scanned those. >> Was that your Dodge truck out there, sir? >> Yeah, it's fine. >> Okay. I I'll make sure. I just >> Yes, we just got it literally a day ago. Actually, no, it was later today. It was last night. We're not going to be able to pay till tomorrow. And >> why are we tax switching today? >> I'm not paying for everything. >> I honestly some of the stuff I really did forget. I really didn't mean to take. I will be 100%. The tax that I honestly did do. >> Okay. >> And I'm sorry for it, but I >> do. We have the money to pay for everything. >> Yeah, I can take care of it. I was trying to pay for it whenever you told me to later. >> No, I know that the rest of that stuff, but the other I do. I can pay for it. If you'd like me to pay for it, I'll pay for it right now. >> I was just I'm just curious. Um anybody do you have cash or credit cards to pay? Can I have my card? Well, Nate has my cards. >> Okay. >> It was clear that what she said were only late apologies after being caught as she had initially tried to avoid responsibility. Now, let's continue and look at her own self assessment. Was it truly sincere or not? >> Honestly, it was I wanted to get a couple of things I needed. I shouldn't have. >> I was wrong anyway. >> What were you tag switching? >> Just some little stuff that I shouldn't have even that was stupid to do. 110% wasn't worth this at all. But before you try to say I was stealing a felony amount, can you please double check back there with what they were scanning? >> I'm going to go eat my food. >> Did I send you back? >> Thank you. >> Yeah. No, I'm just saying you're charging the felony. Like it was there was stuff being scanned back there cuz that was $156. I had a hund of it paid already and then the stuff got stopped. The perfume and stuff in there is my Doath and Body Works. That was truly not a mistake. I meant to pay for that one. >> But that was truly a like I didn't mean to. >> That's >> I meant to pay for it. >> Truly. >> I got to get paid for assistance. >> Um I tax I paid for some of it, right? >> They're only going to charge you for the thing you did not pay for and the things you tax switched. >> Okay. >> Based on the woman's behavior, the store also made its decision regarding how to handle the case. Um, you are formerly trespassed from all Walmart owned property. That includes Sam's Club, that includes Murphy's Oil, that includes all Walmarts in the world. So, you can't go to Carbonale and start shopping. If you get caught stealing in Carbon, you're going to get charged with Burg. >> Okay. >> So, you are definitely charged. >> Okay, that's fine. Can somebody talk to me like really about business and like just about it real quick? Cuz I paid for a 100 of that stuff and I'm trying to see what's qualified and how that works. today. >> What? >> I paid for 100 of the stuff back with me. So, it was 100 cuz I need 53 back at the automotive counter of the stuff I was trying to pay for which would be like oil change, would be the dog food, would be the candles, would be, you know what I mean? That stuff. And there was a Sally's plaque and something else is a misdemeanor >> and >> Okay, fine. Um, your other stuff that you paid for, we'll just give it back to Nathan. That way he can have it. Okay. >> Okay. Perfect. But the hundred was taken off at the register and I owed $53 still on that balance. And that's when he told me, "Okay, don't take it. Don't worry." >> The woman showed no sense of guilt from the lesson. And even while being escorted away, she only cared about herself. >> Not on this way, please. an eight. I don't know where it is. Excuse me. Can you get my hair out of my eye? It's right there in this eye. It's just Can you wipe my forehead? Are you allowed to touch me? I have no diseases. >> Thank you. >> On this side, everything in it. Can you call him by chance to have him ring my phone? >> He's going to be able to get you out tonight, but Wait a second. >> In the end, the man was believed to be innocent, while the woman was charged with retail theft and permanently banned from Walmart. This situation showed that making excuses after being caught did not erase wrongdoing. And avoiding responsibility only made things worse. True accountability mattered more than empty apologies. >> You have kids? >> Yes, I have five kids. >> Are they with you? >> No. >> Are they being taken care of right now? >> So, this was Sunday. I can show you today, but this is Sunday. She did the same thing. She selected >> on the 5th of June 2026. Police received a report from a Shopright store about a woman allegedly leaving with $548 worth of unpaid merchandise. When officers arrived, store employees also provided them with detailed statements about the incident. >> Her in the liquor store with a full cart, it was $500 and some dollars. I went tracked it back real quick and it turns out she came from an aisle after making a se couple selections right out the door. So, she got to her car and she was loading it up. I had gave me enough time to go back and watch her and see that she didn't go to a register. So, then when I got to the car, she didn't have a receipt and then she said, "I think I forgot to pay." So, she said it's her first time, but I just went back on her on Sunday and I have her doing the same thing on Sunday. >> Okay. You have a driver's license? >> Yes. >> Do you have a receipt for how much >> the is 524? But I'll get the paper for >> one in the past. Okay. Uh for the one in the past, do you you have the video you can pro? I I have the this is I don't have it done. I mean, I don't even have today's done yet because I'm uh I I went back cuz she said she's never done this before. So, I wanted to see if this was a one-time deal or if this was more um it turns out she was here Sunday and did the same thing. So, here if you look at Sundays, >> your kids? >> Yes, I have five kids. >> Are they with you? No. >> Are they being taken? I'm sorry. I You came here by yourself, right? Okay. >> Yeah. There was no one else in the car. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So, this was Sunday. I can show you today, but this is Sunday. She did the same thing. She's selected. Uh she has a full cart. She has the kids with her, which I didn't think she would do anything with the kids, but so she's going to come out of the aisle and she's right here and she goes into the liquor store. >> Okay, this is idea. >> Yeah, I have it. >> This is last week, though. >> This is last week. I can show you today. I just wanted to show you that she's been doing >> It turned out this was not the woman's first time doing this. And the total value of the merchandise was soon confirmed. >> I just need the receipt for today. >> He He went out to get you the receipt. They had to ring it up. It was $524. >> And as far as you said Sunday, >> I'm just going to need the the value for everything on that. >> It's going to take a while. So, can I It's going to take a while to put together. >> Okay. >> Uh because we have to reenact the whole thing and then shop the order. And I have a feeling we're going to go back. It's going to be a lot. So, you want my guy to put it all together all the times and then reach out to you with all the video and the and the receipts. Um, well, we need we'll handle today first and then and then if you can't finish for the previous ones, we still have identified her and then we can handle that separately. Okay. >> Exactly. That's what I figured we'll do today. So, I can burn the video for you and drop it off. I don't know what time you're on till, but I can do that today for you. >> He's getting you the receipt. >> Okay. >> 52437. The system froze rescanning it to give you actually give you the paper, but that was when it you see the total on there. They're going to redo it. So, I I just need to reiterate before before we're done here. She left with $524 worth of alcohol product, went to the car. You stopped her before she departed the store >> before she left. Yeah. >> Okay. >> Asked her for a receipt and she could not provide one. Okay. >> And uh which I already knew she didn't have one because I watched her. I just went back and reviewed video real quick and she didn't >> I'm 35. >> 35. Okay. So, we're going to take care of this part and then uh I'm going to have some paperwork as you know just for you to fill out and then uh yeah, we'll be on our way. Okay. >> Okay. Did you want to see today's just for your >> Yeah, if you want to show me. >> Sure. All right. So, uh, let me just go >> uh the exit. >> Yep. Let me just Well, it's going to be a little bit because she went to the liquor store. So, I got to switch >> with the theft involving more than $500 worth of merchandise and evidence that it was a repeated offense. She could face thirdderee shoplifting. Thirdderee shoplifting can be charged as a thirdderee felony, which can carry up to 5 years in prison and $5,000 in fines under Florida law. Meanwhile, officers and store employees continued reviewing the surveillance footage for evidence. >> Okay, so this is her in the liquor store and I'm going to go back and show you selection and everything. So, this is her buying. She bought a bottle which is in the car and then today I will fill it. I will get you in. >> So, a purchase was made today >> for the liquor and that's not included that I left that in the car. She did pay for that's not part of the 520. That's >> not part of the 500. Yeah. Okay. So, that's her going out with the product. So, now when I backtrack it That was a 501. That was today, right? >> That was today. At 501 is when she walked out. So, she goes in, she purchases a bottle or she gets a bottle, she purchases it. Now, I'm just going to spin around because when she walks in, then I just have the time that she comes in cuz everything's good there. Okay. So, 557 or 457. >> Hey, Dad. >> Hey, how are you? Good. >> Hello. >> Receipt. Hi. How are you doing? Receipt. >> I just want to reiterate this doesn't include the bottle that she did pay for, right? Yeah, that's in the cart. >> Okay, so that's the cart right there. >> Okay, >> she comes along the back. She's going to go up the pet food aisle, which is right here. You see her coming up. She going to go any registers. I have her right there, and that's when she goes into the liquor store, and she picks up her selection. And the food can't be purchased in the liquor store. >> So, here she All right. So, I'm switching over to here. So, now she waits in line for the liquor. She gets up to the liquor, pays for it, and then front end. I think it went faster, right? Yeah. This should be her. Yeah, that's her going out. Everything captured on camera provided police with evidence that could establish the crime, speaking louder than any admission from the suspect. With the evidence in hand, they made their decision shortly afterward. >> You are going to be placed under arrest for shopping, I think. Okay. Do you mind just taking the bag off? >> Yes. >> Do you want to lock out your phone so you don't >> Yeah. Would it be okay if I pulled my husband? >> We could do that. I had quarters. We're not going to do it right now. >> I don't know. >> Here. Well, I'll take it. It's fine. You just got to take the purse. You can just put your hands on your back. >> Anything else in your pockets or anything like that, man? >> Which Gina? >> Is this too tight for you? >> No. >> You got smaller wrist. I'm just I'm just making sure they're not hurting you. >> All right. She is the right form. So, I'll come back for you. >> I just need you to roll this up. You're open >> here. Just I need you to face your wrist out. Probably be a little less or a little more comfortable that way. This way. Gra. >> All right, we're make a right. Yep. I'll be right back. >> Is that police car right there? We're going to go to that. We want to wait. We're going to go on the opposite side. Okay. Wait one second. >> Will I be outside today? >> Yeah. Wait 2 hours maybe. >> Here. I'll take you. You got a fleet? >> Yeah. Can you just pop? Can you open? H I got >> Thanks. Go. >> I'm just going to reach. Put your seat belt on. >> All right. Should be like 2 hours. Okay. Thanks, bro. >> Just make sure you search this. Oh, what? >> You said what? >> Just make sure you search us now. All right. >> She had enough money to pay for groceries. Jeez, it's a lot of cash. >> I'll get the statement and everything else for you. >> You sure? Just the statement in the vine and then it >> Yeah, I'll get the vine statement tab stuff for you. >> Thanks, bro. >> Uh, are you with us? >> You get the print out? Yeah, I'm staying over tonight. Uh, what was the total amount? >> I have in my pocket. I got to look. It was like five. It was just over five. >> Okay, so I was trying to mark the other numbers. You good? >> Yeah, I'm good. Just when [snorts] it seemed the case would end there, store employees investigated further and discovered that her history of similar behavior did not stop at just two incidents. >> You guys have a history. I'm guessing a prior. >> Yeah. >> Looks like she'll be able to go back and find other. >> Yeah, if you guys get it all together t tallied up. >> It's going to take a while. >> See those? That's the other day when she went out. >> Her car is in the lot. I took a picture of it. It's still there. The plate near your place. >> Didn't see you running this morning. Now I know why. >> Yeah, I was here. I've been since 7:00 a.m. I'm here till 10:30 tonight. So, working a double again. Yeah, I usually run over every year. Where's her car parked at? Straight back on the left. Where the necklace is? >> Second or third road. Not that far out. You >> mind if I peek at her driver's license you have on the phone? Just so I can write down information for you. >> Thank you. >> Uh what's this? 1500? >> Yeah, I thought it was 1500. What's the uh phone number for here? Do you know the main? >> Yeah, I do. Uh I just got to look it up. I don't usually use it, but uh >> Well, yeah. as you guys get it, just give us a call once you have it all together so we can all put it together and the dates, the amounts and the separate dates. So, I'm seeing multiple things here. I don't know if that's all the different things, >> different days, >> different days. So, she's here, but if say for example like you have June 5th on there or I'm sorry, that's you have the 31st and you have May 8th if it's two. Just have the amounts for whatever days. >> Oh, yeah. That's how we do. We break it down by day for you. We'll give you different uh times and everything. Whatever. Today will be a bit, but today I'll get this done. What time you guys on till? >> I'm on till 11:00. He's on till 1:30 a.m. So, >> I'll get done before then. >> Perfect. I appreciate, guys. Thank you. >> In the end, the woman was charged with thirdderee shoplifting. Repeated theft can quickly turn a seemingly minor incident into a much bigger legal problem. Surveillance footage can also expose a pattern of behavior, making it much harder to dismiss the incident as a one-time mistake. So, you lied to me when I asked you your name. You said, "Why do you think I'm calling you Suzanne? I don't know your sister's name." >> That is >> You just told me you came with Suzanne. You are a liar. >> On the 21st of November 2024, police received a call from Fifth Third Bank about a woman who had attempted to withdraw $3,690 using a fake ID. And the officers had no idea that this was only the beginning of a web of lies. Even from the moment the officer first approached her, she already appeared confused and unsure of what was going on. >> What's going on? >> Nothing. >> What's going on? >> I was trying to make a withdrawal, but they won't let me. >> Okay. Is it your license you're trying to use or somebody else's? >> No, hers. I mean, mine. They got it. They got it. >> Is that fake? >> All right, let's go inside and check it out. 10. I'm 1012 with the fe now. >> Are you by yourself? >> Yes. >> My husband's a drop me off. Just come back. >> Okay. >> That or I could. >> Either that or what? Or I can take it over to my daughter's house. >> Okay. >> Babe, so you you have that license is good or it's fake? >> No, it's good. I just got it redone because it expired and I got to renew it. >> Okay. Whose account are you trying to get money out of? >> Mine. >> Your account? >> Ryan Stanley. >> We just called the client's in Illinois. The real >> That's That's impossible. >> The client is in Illinois. We just called the client. >> Okay. >> On their cell phone. >> So whose ID is this? >> That is Suzanne Pierce. >> What's your name? Suzanne Piers. >> Okay. Well, they're saying they closed their account. >> Who? >> The client. The actual client of the bank account that you're trying to get money out of. >> You couldn't talk to them cuz I'm that I'm that person. How could that possibly be? >> Because you're trying to draw money out of account that they they appear as fraudulent. So, they called the actual owner of the account. >> Although she denied every allegation against her, it was clear that the bank had solid grounds for its suspicions. She's a little bit older than him, but she also said that um she's been getting calls with her home phone number all day, like these calls and weird stuff. And she did know that phone number. So she did know it. >> Yeah. And the driver's license on my system is exactly the same number. So that's an actual duplicate of some sort. That's the information I have. I just have the one I have is expired and that one's not. >> Okay. >> It's the same number and the same and she knew the home phone number. >> So she's saying it might be her sister. Well, she initially said she could be my sister and I said, "Does your sister smoke?" She's definitely a smoker. She goes, "No, I don't believe so. I don't think they're being fraud." I said, "Someone has your exact license number ID is fake." >> Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you can tell cuz they printed they printed Land of Lincoln over supposed to have like these engraved, you know, they print way. >> So, I did verify the car. It was absolutely not. >> Okay. We're probably going to want need to talk to her for a minute. Going back to the suspect, the woman came up with several excuses for what happened, but her story kept changing, only raising even more suspicion. >> You have a sister. >> What? >> Do I have a sister? >> Yes. >> What's her name? >> Why? >> Huh? >> Why? >> Because we're investigating a crime. Are you trying to draw money out of your sister's account? Your sister saying the owner of the account saying it might be your sister. >> Just don't be stupid. Like, come on. We're not here for no reason. We know. We know the answers to the questions that we're asking. That's why we asked him, "Are you trying to draw money out of your sister's account?" >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. It was We had an argument a couple weeks ago. She said it would be fine and now she says no. >> She did give me permission. Now she's changing the mind. >> We're going to figure that out. >> So the answer is no. You don't have permission. >> I thought I did, >> but you just told me she changed her mind. So that would indicate >> she did, but we were in an argument and a lot that would indicate that >> if we're yelling at each other and saying, "Yeah, I'm never going to talk to you again. Don't grow my >> That's a little different. That's a little different than taking money out of an account, right? >> No, the whole the whole thing she went talked to me. She said, "I'm not loaning you money anymore." >> And then the next time next thing I know, I'm talking to her like we're friends. >> So I talk to my brother and I say, "Hey, it's okay to take $4,000 out of my account." >> Yeah. But no, no, stop, stop. But then I say, "Actually, no. I I don't like that idea." But you, because your siblings assume, well, she said it was okay. I talked to her a few days later like it was nothing like >> but you just said she changed her mind. >> She did and then we talked. >> So you're going with the answer that best suits you? >> No. >> Okay. >> I assume that she acted like it was no big deal. >> You ever do you drink? >> No. >> Do you smoke? >> Smoke what? >> Anything? >> Cigarettes? Yeah. >> Okay. You ever gotten really sick off smoking cigarettes and said, "I think I'm gonna quit smoking." >> Mhm. >> But then you started up again? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Does that seem as serious as, "Oh, you could take money out of my bank account, but no, don't. But then you're just going to do it anyway." So really, >> that's not what that's not what I'm saying. >> You just said that. >> She seemed unable to remember what she had already said, which only made it more suspicious that she was lying. Even her own name became inconsistent. >> Suzanne, spell that. >> Spell Suzanne. >> S U Z A N E. You >> got a Florida ID? >> Who do I know? >> What state? >> I'm not from Florida. >> Okay. What state? >> I didn't bring it with me. What state? >> Illinois. >> Okay. You said Suzanus. >> Why do you think I'm calling you Suzanne? I don't know your sister's name. That is That's >> You just told me you came with Suzanne. You are a liar. >> No, I made >> You are Well, that's a liar. That's what a liar would say. Sally, is it? >> I've never said >> My name's Cody. >> Well, he had the ID. He came out. >> I should have just known his name. What's your date of birth? And don't lie to me. What's your date of birth? >> July 8th, 1968. >> What day of the week were you born on? >> I think it was a Friday. >> Yeah. What day again did you say it was? July 8th. >> July 8th. What year? >> 68th. >> 68th. Okay. And that was on a Friday. >> I don't remember. I think maybe >> I think it was what? >> I think it was on a Friday. >> Yeah. Who really knows? That was so long ago >> when I I I don't even know what day my daughter was born. >> Okay. All right. So, spell your spell your middle name for me. >> H E N R I E T A. >> Okay. And your last name again. >> M I L L S. And >> what was your maiden name? P I E R Z >> Pers. So, what's on your ID? Suzanne, I'm sorry. >> Sally Henrietta Mills. >> Yeah. >> She showed no signs of guilt whatsoever. Instead, she began to portray herself as someone who had been pushed into the situation rather than someone who had willingly taken part in it. >> Yeah. So, she doesn't the owner of the bank account doesn't even have a TD bank account. So, >> I was explaining to them that >> I don't know. I I felt a little pressure into this. And I know that sounds weird, but I I tend to let people. >> All right. Well, who? I don't know. I have >> Are you by yourself? Are you by yourself or just somebody with you? >> No. >> Did he Did he leave when he saw me pulling? >> She was on the phone. >> Yeah, he probably left when he saw me pull in. >> I wasn't trying to call anybody. He just >> This is a common thing that we do with all the time. I really honestly was going to say this day is like I mean I was like come on you >> well who's trying to pressure you into doing this your husband >> it's not like really pressure but it's f you pressured but I mean if you were to ask them they'd say we have problem but it is kind of like come on you know >> you're an adult you can make >> I know and I have a problem with that issues with that you can talk to my daughter about that >> and my son >> Sounds like you're hanging out with the wrong people. Yeah, >> because now you're going to go to jail for something that they want you to do. >> So, how does that work? >> I mean, >> we put handcuffs on you. You go in the back of the car, then you go to the station, and then you go down to jail. >> I understand that. But about bail or >> getting in touch with my children or >> should you're going to go down to jail. You're going to it's it's a felony to pass >> fake fake IDs and stuff and try to do that and then you're gonna have a bail. >> I didn't make that. >> Okay. But you can't you can't take somebody you can't take an ID and use it's it's still even though you didn't get any money it's still it's lose the caller. >> She continued to pretend to be innocent in a completely unbelievable way but it was becoming impossible for her to escape the consequences when the officer finally decided to take action. >> Can you make a phone call? >> Yeah. So that that'll depend on your your appearance of the judge and depend on what charges you're facing. >> When am I going to see the judge? >> Well, it depends on the charges you're facing. If you do not work at the jail, we cannot give you any of those answers. We are street cops. We're not jail cops. >> That's why I was telling you that correctional deputies will have better answers for you. >> Yeah. >> Put your hands behind your back for me. Put your hands on your back for me. Appreciate it. >> Let go your 115 reference 53. Big deal. Come on. This way. Ow. You're good. Come on. Can you grab that for me? >> I know. I'll be steady on my feet. You're good. >> I will not let you fall. I promise. Stand right here. Watch out for the door. Take a seat for me. My seat belt's going to move for you. >> Am I going to get >> Yeah, it's going to move for you. >> No, I mean get in cuz I'm like >> Yeah, you're not sure. All right. When we get to the station, I'll get those handcuffs off you. Okay. >> In the end, the woman was charged with forgery, [music] uttering a forged instrument, fraudulent use of personal identification information, and providing false information to law enforcement. [snorts] The lesson is simple. Changing your story and pretending to be innocent only makes the situation worse when the evidence already contradicts you. Even if someone else pushed you into a crime, you are still responsible for the choices you make. When she came in here, uh, my initial thought was she's a threat, so I pepper sprayed her. >> On the 20th of July 2025, police received a report from a Walgreens in Savannah about an altercation between a customer and an employee involving the use of mace. Officers arrived at the scene to get more information from the manager's account. Okay. So, apparently like um her sister has been causing a ruckus with her all day [laughter] >> and like called corporate saying like all bunch of like crazy to corporate and what she's saying I'm not entirely sure. >> Um she came in here, walked around the store, came over here, started making like ripping things off the shelf, corn chips on the floor. We're in the process of cleaning the oven. Um there was a spat altercation between two of them. >> Um she sprayed mace on her sister to get her away from her. >> She sprayed mace? >> Yeah, she did. >> Okay. Did she attack her anyway? >> Uh all I know is like she like was causing a ruckus and so like the complete story I don't know. She can come over here and talk to you guys about it, file the reports that she needs to file. >> But I don't need the girl coming back in here in the story. his phone. >> You talk to her. You don't have access to the cameras, right? >> Oh, you do? >> Yeah. Smell it, right? >> Yeah. >> It turned out that the employee and the customer were sisters and they had already been arguing with each other before, which the employee later confirmed. >> So, exactly what happened? >> Okay, so um from 1:57 exactly. All day I've been getting text messages. She's been posting on her Facebook just coming for me. Um, yesterday was my my niece and nephew's birthday. So, I don't know if that would start it all when she seen me. Um, and prior to all of this, um, we had a run in, well, we had a debacle basically where, um, we got into it. We were living together, we got into it, and, um, it resulted in her boyfriend breaking into my apartment and he assaulted me. >> Did you follow this apartment? >> Yes, I did. So there's already report on file should be for that and um we haven't talked in a while. Um this is our first time even having conversation since then which was probably back in November. And when I was getting these text messages at first I wasn't going to answer but now she's just like tech like she's just been texting me. I have responded back. you know, I was just, you know, talking stuff about each other. And >> was there like what were the text messages? Was it just like name calling? What was >> Yeah, just name calling. Not really like too much, but she was already a threat to me because like from when I was a kid on up. She was used to assault me then like beat me up, all types of stuff. We've gotten in fights, plenty of them. Uh, even if you look at her history, she has a lot of family battery because of, you know, everything we've been through. >> Did she text you anything recently that was like threats towards you? >> I really don't know because like it's just a lot. It's a lot like spammy. So, I really don't know. I'll have to sit and read. >> Okay. >> But, um, yeah. So, when she >> This could have been a family argument, but when it happened in a public place like this, it was clearly something that deserved condemnation. The employee even went on to admit what she had done at the time. >> The thought was she's a threat. So I pepper sprayed her. >> Okay. What happened before you? >> She was just uh she has a video. Um she was recording me and she's walking up to me. So I started walking up to her and then I pepper sprayed. >> That was it. There was no like verbal dispute. She didn't touch anything in the store. >> Huh. >> She didn't like walk anything. Oh, I really don't know. Like, well, actually, yeah. So, when I seen her, I was just doing my job and then she was walking towards me and she was recording me like this, like, >> you know, she's walking towards me with her friend or whatever. He was a male and and she was just saying, um, oh, look, it's like taunting me basically. Um, saying, look, it's me, basically. And then I'm walking towards her and then I decided I was going to pepper her because I don't know what she was going to do to me. So it was just >> you felt threatened. >> Yeah, basically I felt threatened. So >> and then after she got sprayed, how soon did she leave after? >> Second. >> How soon after she left after you sprayed her? Um, she went and she knocked some stuff off of the um, >> was it because she was like reacting to getting spray? >> No, I don't think it actually got in her eyes. I think I just sprayed her enough to like it where she backed up like she knew it was mace, but so she didn't come towards me any longer. >> How did you actually get her eyes? >> I don't think I did. No, >> I seen it like on her arm more so. But the question remained, if this was a conflict between family members, then why did it happen inside the store? Officers raised the same question with her shortly afterward. >> Was there like a something that happened a day prior? >> You said the birthday party that you >> Nothing happened at the birthday party. Nothing. Um I really don't know. >> She'll just come up here today. It has to be something. >> You were texting with >> I wasn't texting her. See, at first she had me blocked after her boyfriend broke into my apartment, broke my phone and all of that. >> Well, let's we're trying to get today. >> Yeah, she had me blocked in the past hours what interactions, phone calls that led up to her coming here. >> I can show you and she text me today. This is what she text me today. >> I like I said, I did text back. So, we exchanged words. So you guys text messages >> or arguing over text >> basically. Yeah. Or arguing over text >> from over text message. I'm going pull up type of thing after. >> Now she didn't say she was going to come here. I didn't know that was like >> that's what happened. Text messages exchange and she's like, "Okay, now I'm going to go see her." And she came. >> Yeah. I guess in her head, yeah, she said, "Yeah, I'm going to go see about her." I guess. >> Okay. That's all we trying to figure out. We just want to know >> what led up to it. is >> the man she was with. You don't know him? >> I seen him for the first time at the birthday party yesterday. >> Okay. >> And you guys, I'm assuming you fought before. You fought >> and it's been going on for how long now? >> Um, since November. >> Since November. >> All right. We going to try to get the footage of what happened in here. It's going to help us understand how it happened. Shortly afterward, the officers reviewed the surveillance footage to better understand the actions of both women, which could provide stronger evidence to support the allegations. >> This aisle is walking. >> There's her sister right there. >> That's where I asked what like where what that sound was, what happened. And I was like, "You have to go because I'm going to call the cops." Well, I recorded the whole thing is her response. >> Okay. So, it happened out of >> you. All is you're going towards her right. Sorry guys. >> Meanwhile, the officers unexpectedly discovered an active arrest warrant connected to the female employee herself, which shifted the direction of the investigation. >> We're going to u go to records. She has a warrant. >> Who knows? The daughter. >> That's the daughter. >> Yeah, she has a warrant for battery. >> So, now we have We got more moving part. >> All right, Yuri, do you mind coming outside with us? >> All right. And dad might want you to stay over here real quick. All right. Did Hey, did did anything happen in Chattam County with you or anybody? >> Guys, I know. No, >> nothing happened in Chattam County. >> Like, what? Can you fill me in? Like, give me some insight. >> I'm just trying to see. I know. If something happened, police were involved, you would know about it. >> And who? >> If something happened and police were involved, you would know about it. >> I mean, only thing I could think of is um the situation with my sister. Uh, her boyfriend broke into my apartment. >> What happened? >> Uh, her boyfriend broke into my apartment. He assaulted me. I had a I had a um a report sent out on the guy, but is this like involving like me being in trouble or something? Like cuz if that's the case, I'm unaware of it. >> The woman was taken off her shift and brought to the police station. Shortly afterwards, she was charged with domestic battery in connection with the incident involving her sister at Walgreens. She was also terminated from her job at the store. >> [snorts] >> Family conflicts should never be allowed to escalate into violence, especially in a public place. Seeking help and walking away is always a better choice than turning a personal dispute into a criminal incident. >> OH MY GOD. >> WE'RE GOING TO GET YOU HELP. OKAY. We're going to get you help in there. Get you a good IV going. On the 27th of August 2024, officers received a call from PBlo Cantina after a woman showed up and became aggressive. As soon as they arrived at the scene, the staff immediately warned them about her condition. >> So, uh there's the lady. She's had a little bit too much to drink and uh she's falling over on tables and uh she's spit at us and you know trying to fight with some of the co-workers and we can't do anything because we're not you know security or anything like that. Where she at? >> And just as the staff had warned, her intoxicated condition quickly became obvious from the very first moments the officer approached her. >> How's it going, miss? >> How are you today? Do you need medical attention? Let's come outside on top. Now what? >> Come on, let's go outside. Okay, let's go. Come on, dude. How much has she had to drink? >> Trying to be nice about it. Let's walk outside. We'll help you outside. s. >> She looked like she was in a dazed and unaware state, but in reality, she knew what was happening and had no intention of cooperating. Even when her friend tried to convince her, she refused to listen. >> You got two options. Either we can walk, we can escort you out and walk with you, or we can carry you out. Which one's it going to be? >> Huh? You know, [laughter] >> you know, >> okay. >> Okay. >> Come on. All right. >> Don't stay back. Let's go outside. >> All right. >> Come on. >> Let's go outside, Lord. >> Well, they've already asked you to leave, so we have to. Okay. Huh? >> Are you intentionally like trying to whisper or you just can't tell all of a sudden? >> 77. Can we get fired for staying outside? >> Let's go outside. Come on. You want to talk to the fireman? >> Well, I'm not trying to touch you. I'm trying to get you to leave. >> I'm trying to get you to leave without touching. See, unfortunately, they don't want you here anymore. So, we got to go. >> So, unfortunately, >> so unfortunately, >> yes, that that word means I know what it means, but >> no. >> No. >> No. >> No. >> No. >> You're not going to go outside with me? >> I'm not going to go outside with you. No. >> With her leaning back as she talked to the officer, she showed a dismissive attitude toward them. But that position also made it easier for the officer to approach her and put an end to the situation. >> Huh? >> Stand up. >> Stand up for Oh my god. If you >> What's she doing? >> OH MY GOD. >> WHY IN THE HELL is he wrong with you? Why are you doing this? Oh my god. You I do not I do not I do not stop over no mother. You >> got >> baby boy. You >> no what is wrong with you? Why? Why? >> Come on. SIT UP. >> NO. >> SIT UP for me. >> Do we have a >> I don't have any. >> Hey, you need to sit up. You ready to sit up for me? >> You ready to get up? >> Just grab a potato. >> We're just going to grab her right here. The woman was completely unstable in her own awareness and behavior. Even as officers escorted her outside, she continued screaming out incomprehensible things. Here, walk back towards me. >> I will NOT >> I have loved you. Please God, [screaming] I have loved you. >> She uh she ped herself. Watch out for that. >> I have loved you. May I have loved you? >> I have loved you. I have loved you. I've loved you. I've loved you. >> Go straight back for me. >> I've loved you. I've loved you. I've loved you. I have loved you. I'm >> about to lose my temper on you. >> I HAVE [screaming] LOVED YOU. >> STOP. >> YOU NEED to stop. >> All right, I'm done. >> You could love you. >> Move your foot. No. >> After everything that happened, her friend stepped forward to speak with the officer, and he seemed to acknowledge that her arrest was justified. >> Four shots of tequila. >> Just four. >> And then some beer. >> I'm going to go with four bottles, maybe. >> Four. Yeah. >> Yeah. I'm >> Yeah. I apologize, sir. But >> ain't your fault, man. >> I brought her up here to supposed to help. She is supposed to have Good evening and I apologize. >> Giving you the option to get out. Come on, >> Lori. LORI, WE'RE going to get you help. Okay, we're going to get you help in there. I'm not either. >> Okay, then. Sounds good. >> Over here. >> What? What? Mommy, spread my leg. Stop. >> Please. >> Okay. Please don't touch me. Please don't. >> We have to keep touching you cuz you ain't listening. >> I ain't doing nothing. You won't go down this road again. >> Please don't touch me. >> Please don't touch me. >> Get out. >> Please. Why are you Why are you dragging me out? >> Because you're we're you're making this. Please don't touch me. PLEASE. >> In the end, Lorie was charged with two counts of disorderly [music] conduct. The lesson here is that excessive drinking can quickly turn a simple situation into a serious legal problem. Refusing to cooperate only made things worse and ultimately led to multiple charges. I'm going to make sure he [music and singing] >> on October 27th, 2024, police officers were dispatched to a Dollar Tree after receiving reports of a suspect involved in shoplifting at the location. However, upon arriving at the scene, officers also had several other suspicious pieces of information about the individual. I'm looking for an old job that he had. Not at this store specifically, but old job. >> Is this based off your previous? >> I don't know. He probably hired something. >> Okay. When you were grabbing something, when we stopped you, you going to throw it in the back? I don't know what you're allowed to ask. >> Okay. Put her in handcuffs. She go put her in handcuffs. Put her in handcuffs. Handcuffs. >> You come up even one step on us, you're going to jail. >> Do you understand? >> Yes. >> What? >> No. No. Listen. >> BACK UP. BACK UP. BACK UP. BACK [laughter] UP. STOP. STOP. >> Stop resisting. >> Stop resisting. Stop resisting. >> You don't listen for [ __ ] >> Can I get the phone? >> That's my phone. >> Somebody over here. >> I'm going to put it in the car. You stay here cuz you you will listen, right? You're going to go stand back here? >> Yes. >> It was her resistance that ultimately led to her being temporarily placed in handcuffs. And perhaps the reason behind her deliberate obstruction became clearer once the vehicle search was carried out. >> Yeah, I know. Wait, I want to see. >> What DSW store were you at? >> Right here. >> The one in Aberville. >> Y [snorts] bringing products if you want. >> You just went on a shopping spree today, huh? >> Oh, okay. >> Okay. Transport you and uh take you in and you're going to be processed. >> Why? >> For obstructing. >> I didn't obstruct you. >> I asked you 17 times to get out of the car. >> Hey, he said that he's going to process me for obstructing officer. Yes, that's correct. >> It was clear that the sheer volume of merchandise in the vehicle of the two women was far from ordinary and officers attempted to approach the more cooperative woman to understand the situation. You >> like to explain just exactly how you acquire all these goods and do these returns? >> No, it's not. No, it's not goods and returns. Okay. We have some stuff we were taking back to get some other stuff. I have receipts for everything. >> 13 ring back. Oh, I mean that ain't you know >> and some stuff was was Jessica's cuz I dropped her off. She went to Whole Foods. But everything got receipts. >> So what's the scam? >> What do you mean what's the scam? >> This isn't above board clearly. >> No, absolutely not. What you had to exchange today that she had some shoes and she exchanged and got something else. That's it. >> That's just a simple exchange. >> Yeah. >> Merchandise in the store. >> No, no, no. Well, there's receipts for stuff though. I got receipts. So, I'm going to ask you. I want just stay on the sidewalk, but come on over here with me. >> So, which store did that TJ Maxx bag full of school supplies come from? >> Now, stay at that. I don't know. I don't know where they I don't know about that. >> So, you didn't make that purchase? >> No. No, I didn't purchase >> or return or whatever it was. >> No. >> Okay. What What business did you have at uh Dicks just now? Um, well, she had a um she had a backpack or something that she was trying to she was exchanging to get something else. I end up spending we spent well sister spent $300 or something. I don't know what happened. So, it was just a simple exchange as far as I know and then end up spending more than what she wanted to spend. That was it. >> Okay. So from what I understand you there was nothing was actually paid for in the long run out of pocket. There was there was returns made. You guys or whoever made the she made the transaction. They weren't you guys didn't actually >> No, no, no. She Yes, we did purchase. You did purchase. She had a um >> she herself hesitated when telling her story and even when she did it was far from clear. She then continued by giving statements that shifted all the blame onto the other woman. I think her baby daddy gave her that bag of stuff. It was some stuff that she had. He had for somebody had got I don't know for school. So that's why she had that stuff. But yeah, we didn't but we didn't go to the office store today. >> Okay. She's going to be charged. Okay. There is no fans but about it. She's she obstructed. She didn't listen. >> That's not always the case. >> No. That's correct. So, it's just it's not all looking good. So, everything that's in here >> I'm taking. >> No, no, no. Wait a minute. >> DW later. >> Everything in here. >> No, I took everything. I got receipts for you. >> Everything. I'm taking the receipts as well. Everything. I'm taking all the merchandise. I'm taking all the receipts and >> and uh conducting additional investigation. >> Oh, come on. No. No. This is back to school. >> This is back to school. >> So you were in Bowling Brook, you were in Napville, you you've been all around >> shopping, >> running hills, been everywhere. >> I've been running hills. >> Not in a while. >> No, >> last year. >> In reality, the officers understood the situation the moment the car door was opened. They gave the blonde woman a chance to come clean, but her response forced them to reach a conclusion. >> I'm going to be honest with you. All right. >> You're going to go to jail. >> Why? for the backpack. >> No, let me I got a receipt. I have a uh on my not >> on that bank charge. I have it. I have it on my confirmed it. >> No, on the bank statement so I can show you. They charge Dick Dick 40. >> I can show you the receipt just now. >> They charged $157 and another $157. >> Being honest with you. So, you're going to go to jail. I don't want you to cause a scene like her. >> What am I going to jail for, though? >> I told you. It's simple. It's a misdemeanor. You'll be on your way. But I didn't go I didn't go to I >> and then you can dispute it at court and say no that's all a big mistake >> that's totally that's not fair to me though >> I like you cuz you're kind >> but you see the white hairs on my face. I shaved a couple days ago so you might not see them as much. >> I don't see why I see white on your face. >> Yeah, >> but I just want you to know that like I said you are going to go today. >> Why would I go though? >> But I just told you >> I didn't take anything. >> Let me let me be let me be kind to you because you've been kind with me. >> Right. Okay. But it's not looking good overall for what y'all have been doing. >> Right. But Right. >> All right. You got me. >> You got You understand what I'm saying? >> Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am. >> No, she doesn't have anything to do with that backpack. >> I was dealing with that girl at that store. >> All right. So, I'm going to put you in handcuffs. Okay. Are you going to kick and scream and and shout like I didn't take anything from this? >> Honest I I want I want to continue to be nice to you. I want I want >> I understand that >> the woman's tone grew tense once again upon learning she would be arrested but the outcome was already set and it was disappointing that she still failed to recognize the wrongdoing of both of them >> and as above board and as as as kind as I can to you okay but I just let you know okay cuz I'm not just going to grab your hand like I had to grab hers >> I'm not going to jail for a backpack >> I'm like speaking another language it's English right back >> she's explained it >> it's English okay I'm going to grab your arm Okay. Any other hand, please. Thank you very much. She, I can assure you, is fine. I think she's just causing hysteria. >> Oh, wow. I can't believe that. >> I didn't take anything from there. >> All right. Well, like I said, when you go to when you go to court. Okay. >> Both women were charged with retail theft with one additionally facing a charge of resisting arrest. Actions driven by dishonesty and resistance only made the situation worse, showing that taking responsibility early could have prevented far more serious consequences. >> You stop right there. Stop. All right. >> Step out of the vehicle, you're fine. >> On the 9th of September 2025, officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report of a theft. The suspects, believed to be a man and a woman, had fled on foot. As soon as officers arrived, the chase immediately began. >> You stop right there. Stop. All right. Where'd he go? >> Get over here. We probably have one detained. The female, the male subject ran I think he went uh westbound towards Arco 320th. >> I got you. >> I think I broke it. There's got your own hand tight. >> Thank you. >> Got her first thing. Let's see. Okay. >> All right. I'm Let's walk her back to the vehicle, please. >> Cool. >> Sounds good. >> The remaining male suspect was believed to have successfully escaped. At this point, officers began gathering information from the woman. >> Uh, what's her name? >> Shi. >> How do you spell that? >> S H A W N A E. S H W N A >> S H A W N A E >> N A E like that. >> Yeah. >> Okay, gotcha. Would you be able to uh ID them? >> Okay. And uh provide a statement, too. All right, sounds good. And then at any point at some point, you should be able to kind of get an estimate of what they took, right? Like a receipt. Okay, sounds good. We'll be over there in a second. Okay, bye. Julio 42, we are code for open the air. >> No, I cannot. Not until we're done. >> The mask, please. I'm super hot. >> Take an ID, though. I'm supposed to go over there and show up. >> I'm running her name right now. Go ahead and put your feet in, please. I'm going to shut the door, but I'm going to open the window. >> I'm going to go see what she threw over there. Okay. She like threw a bag on the floor. carrying backpacks. >> What's up? >> Look at the guy carrying a backpack. >> Yeah, he was. I think uh Hispanic male. >> There's a gray backpack. I think >> there's a backpack down there. >> Yeah. Better get over real quick. She threw it. >> She threw it. >> Yeah, cuz they I pulled up right here. >> Yeah. >> They're walking up on me. They saw me turn lights on. Immediately booked it. We had seen them earlier. >> Yeah, >> cuz they're also shoplifting. Yeah. Trader Joe's. >> So down here. >> Officers suspected that this was not the suspect's first offense. They also confirmed that the woman had tried to discard the stolen merchandise while fleeing, allowing officers to later recover some of the items. >> Did you get the merchandise still? >> Yeah, I got some of it right here. >> Oh, right here. >> Yeah. took off his shirt. >> You did? >> That's He was wearing >> the orange one. Yeah. Yeah. >> Hispanic male. >> This guy short hair. >> How old? 35. >> I'd say 30 35. Yeah. >> How many pants are you wearing? >> Uh, I don't remember. >> Yeah. >> Oh, you got her. So, >> yeah, we're good. Got one. So, >> yeah. >> And some of the merch back, but we're going to do until show up. >> Yeah. Thank you. At this time, you are not free to leave. You do have two warrants, one for 5,000 and one for three 3,000 out of two different counties, just so you're aware. Okay. Uh well, at first he was just going to contact them, but they they do want us to go over and do a field show up. Um they said they could recognize him if they saw him, but after I IDed her, I just found out she has two warrants. Um, but yeah, they want to build show up. >> Where is it? Oh, I said, did you find something? >> She threw it. Yeah. >> Okay. >> Got you. What's up, LT? >> Um, no. I turned my lights and sirens on cuz I was driving in the parking lot, saw them, and I had seen them. I recognized them because they're also >> Back to the suspect. She became increasingly erratic, showing clear signs that she appeared to be under the influence of something. >> Step out of the vehicle. >> Sha, you're fine. You need to go. I don't play that game. So, stand up. >> Stand up and keep your head up. >> Yeah. Thank you. Thank you. >> All right. Step set back into the vehicle. >> Sha, look at me. At this time, you're being held under arrest for theft three and obstruction. Having these rights in mind, do you wish to speak to us now? Okay. I'm going to put your seat belt on before we go. sit up all the way. The recovered merchandise was then returned to the store while an employee continued to provide a statement about what had happened earlier inside the store. >> I got this back. I don't know if it's everything, but >> Oh, yeah. >> We'll see. >> Oh, I think that was his letter. Maybe all his stuff's in there. >> He just right there. >> Sweet. >> All right. I just need your ID real quick. >> All righty. All right. What did you see today? Um what did you see him shoplifting? All that stuff like start to finish. >> Okay. So, I was back here and then associate said that they had a suspicious character in the store. Um I go out there and I it was the male that I seen first. M >> um and I customer serviceed him. I asked him, "Do you need help finding anything?" And he said, "No." And then he was like, "Well, I need a 31 by something in the jeans." And I told him, "Oh, right now we have we have just have the 29 is the smallest." And he said, "Okay." And then he goes, "Well, where's the slims? Our slim is the one that gets really deaf with the trackers in them." >> So I took him there and um I showed him the 32s that we had and he goes, "Okay." And he grabbed two pairs of those. Um, and then he grabbed a hoodie and then he grabbed some shirts, wrapped them around his arm, was shopping a bit, like browsing, and then came into the women's section. And I was in the men's in the front of the store. I looked to my left and I seen a woman just staring at me and I was like, "Oh, they're together." >> Mhm. >> So then as he's going to the women's, he can't find her. So he's like in um in like I read his mail. He's like, "Where is she?" like [music] he was looking for her. >> Yeah. >> And then they go to the back and then he comes back. I stayed up at the front. He goes back to the front and he seen me and he he went to the back looking for them. He went into men's active. Uh the associate said that he was there and that he had more stuff in his arms. She had I seen her come to the back. Um she had a lot of stuff in her arms and then they ran out the back. In the end, the woman was charged with felony shoplifting and obstruction in addition to her two existing warrants. The man was later found and was charged with the same offenses. Trying to escape only made the situation worse, especially when the evidence and stolen merchandise could be recovered. Running from the scene does not erase the crime. It can lead to additional consequences. >> I'll be out with a 65 in progress tit. But then you chose to run, break a door, >> and not even give me a chance. >> On the 1st of December 2024, officers were dispatched to Walmart after receiving a report about a man who had switched his shoes with a pair of shoes displayed for sale inside the store. He was later approached by an officer as he left the store, but what he did next was completely unexpected. Buddy, we have a talk. Um, you switch your shoes, man. Come on. Do a favor. Step right in there. >> Step in the office. Dude, don't listen. Hey, >> if you want to let ME >> I'll be out with a 65 in progress. Taser deployed. Even his earlier act of stealing was no exception. >> I don't understand what the hell I did. >> Loss prevention. Observe you swapping your shoes. >> I swapped my shoes. >> Yes, they have your shoes in loss prevention. So, you're giving me my shoes back. That's what you're telling me. >> Well, at this point, you passed all points of sale. Then you wanted to resist, >> dude. No, I did not. I can't like I can't like you got to lift me. I can't stand. >> I can't lift. >> His fake innocence was becoming completely obvious. Or perhaps he genuinely believed his own story because he then strangely started portraying himself as the victim. >> I don't like, hey, you're being detained for shoplifting, potential, potential shoplifting, and if you had if you had cooperated and gone into the office. >> You just shot me with a taser, my friend, because I'm not going to go into a a corner with you. But >> what's your name? >> Mark. And that's what I came here for is not cooked fried chicken. So I was mad. >> Oh, I thought he was. >> So they saw him swap the shoes. We went to go confront him. And I I'm I'm I'm much younger than you, but I never read an book and then white and black got along. >> Really? >> Never. >> That's weird. >> The officers also clearly recognized that she was not in a stable state of mind, but they still tried to continue the investigation. However, once again, she remained fixated on playing the race card. >> So, can you do you mean someone who's in or what? What's your last name, Michelle? >> I don't know. >> Okay, you're just going to get going get another charge. That's fine. >> Well, no. >> Well, no, it is. It's a fact, actually. >> Well, you're white. I'm black. >> Yes. Correct. It doesn't make a difference. >> It makes a huge >> No, it doesn't. >> Huge. >> Why? Why are you discriminating? Because I'm white. >> Huge. Why you Why you being discriminated? >> I'm getting I'm getting you telling me you did that and I'm not. >> No, Minard is telling you you did. I'm just enforcing the law. >> Well, I'm a huge fan of Bernard. >> Not no more. >> Number one fan. >> I'm sure you are if you if you steal from them. >> I am like Arizona. >> I bet you are. But you're white. So like is Hispanic or black? >> Nope. >> So you're telling me there's no one who's a Hispanic or blackist? >> Correct. >> That's not fair. When black and white never got along. >> Never. After some time, the woman finally admitted to what she had done, although there was, of course, no shame or sense of guilt from her whatsoever. >> You can have a seat now. Cover. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. What do you mean? >> Um, when the arrested officer came, he it was a cover present. Did you take it? >> A cup? Oh, you're the the sleeping >> sleeping bag that you took to the store, >> right? Where did you take it? >> It's back at the store where it belongs. Cuz you didn't pay for that. That's why you're here. It was paid for. >> It was not. >> It was not paid for, Michelle. That's why we're here in the first place. >> Okay. >> So, you that's back at the store. Who owns it until you pay for it? They own it. Just like the bag of Doritos and the and the cup of cheese sauce and the Mountain Dew that you ate without paying for it. >> I think so. >> You didn't pay for it, though. That's how I feel. >> You can't take things from people and not pay for them. >> Yeah, that's right. >> That's right. >> You didn't walk into home. >> Okay. Well, then you'll be able to tell the judge that on your court date, but Mard says that it's theirs. >> Okay. Well, tell that to the judge, not me. Okay. Because >> Yep. Sergeant. >> In the end, the woman was charged with retail theft and obstruction. The lesson is simple. Claiming to be a celebrity or playing the race card will not erase the consequences of your actions. Cooperating with officers and taking responsibility is always a better choice than making the situation worse. >> Drop it. >> Were you trying to steal this stuff? >> I can't breathe. I can't breathe. On the 22nd of May 2023, officers were dispatched to the parking lot of Farmfleet after receiving a report of a disturbance involving a man and a woman inside the store. They were reportedly threatening to punch employees while both were identified as having a prior history with law enforcement. Here's what happened next. >> Yeah, there's an issue. >> What's that? >> Stand in front of my car. >> What is the issue? >> You threatened two employees. >> No, I didn't. >> Stop. Get back here. Get take your hand out of your pocket. >> Hands on the car. >> What am I doing? >> Hands on the car. You're detained. >> For what? >> Hands on the car. Do you have any weapons on you? >> Yeah. You're reaching your pocket. You got brass knuckles. You're threatening to hit people. You got a grinder in there? Yeah. And you got a switchblade on you. >> Hey, I told you I had pretty >> Where's the girl you were with? >> Why? >> She didn't do anything. >> She's still with you. So, I'm going to You >> leave her alone. >> You got anything else on you? just watch and let me know when she comes out. I'm >> going to relax, okay? But you're going to talk to me. What's going on today? >> They were following me around in the store and I asked him to please stop and they wouldn't. And so and then he started making smartass comments and that's when I freaking was like, "Dude, if you keep following me around, I feel threatened." I literally said that. I got a video recording of him being being a smartass. And I told him I said, "I'll just start pressing charges." I said, "I'm going to open up a case like and and I told him I told him I said, "Quit following me." Cuz he's like literally like closer than me and you are right now. >> And I that's what I told him. I said, "Dude, if you don't get out in the face, I'm going to knuckle dust you." >> Okay. >> And I I admit to that. >> So you were upset because you felt like they were following you because of the way you looked and >> Yes. >> Okay. Like they were profiling you. Hell, this is the second time and like I've done nothing. I've never seen I know >> that makes sense to me. >> I I apologize. I have a hard time with authorities cuz I I was raised on the streets. >> Okay. >> So, I apologize. >> See, I've never met you before, right? >> Okay. So, we're cool, right? >> He quickly admitted to causing the disturbance. Seeing the man's cooperative attitude, the officer also took the opportunity to continue investigating the reason behind his statements. >> Need to get your side of the story, boss. I mean, there's a reason that you threatened to punch someone, right? >> Yeah. Like, and I know it wasn't right. That's why I started to walk out to see they kept on me. When I when I feel caged and trapped, I I tend to lash out. >> Can you see why I take the >> Yeah. >> the means that I do when you start walking away, you put your hand in your pocket, you end up having brass knuckles, a switchblade. >> Yeah. I apologize. >> Okay. >> I apologize. >> Who's the familiar with? She's not in any trouble. I'm just curious. >> Cara. >> Cara. You guys have no contact or something or you guys are good. You guys are straight. You're convicted felon. What are you doing with the knuckle dusters in the switchblade then? >> We've been jumped at school park before you keep >> What's going on? >> You guys need to go inside at all. >> Yeah, we still got to go find her. Yeah, if you want to stay out here with him. He's not really being very cooperative. So, I can run inside. >> You see why that heightens my concern though when your hand goes directly into the pocket that has weapons in it? >> Okay. I wasn't trying to be a dick about, right? I have a reason for it. >> I appreciate you being >> Yeah. They said they're going to watch for her to come out, but she hasn't yet. >> Yeah, we can break it down. We can figure this all out. What's her name? >> Dakota. So, obviously, we got some stuff to figure out and we'll go from there. >> Meanwhile, one officer went to find the other woman. She was reportedly carrying two bags filled with merchandise and heading toward an exit, prompting the officers to immediately give chase. >> Hey, ma'am. How are you? Hey, stop. Stop. >> She's running. Drop it. >> Drop it. >> OH GOD. OKAY. OKAY. OKAY. STOP. STOP. BABY. >> I stop. I STOP. >> STOP MOVING. STOP. >> STOP. >> STOP. STOP. >> STOP. [screaming] RESISTING. >> God damn it. Please stop. Please. Please. No, PLEASE. >> CARA, are you good to sit? >> Are you injured at all? >> No. Are you >> Can you bend your legs so we can sit you up? >> I didn't hear what you said. >> Why'd you run? >> Can I sit you up in this chair? >> Because I got scared. to get over. >> Can I sit you up? >> I'm going to sit you up, Cara. Okay, you can sit in the chair. I need your help. You got to get up. >> Come on, Cara. Don't do this. >> Please ask me. >> Look, can you can you work with me a little bit? >> Just sit. Just sit. Just sit. [laughter] >> Please. >> He's detained right now. So, >> where is he? >> In my car. >> Why? >> Cuz you guys were causing issues in the store. >> Oh, he was he was causing issues, too. >> Well, they work here. They're allowed to follow you guys through the store. >> I don't know. That's hard. Hell in here. Come on. >> Were you trying to steal this stuff? >> The merchandise had been placed inside bags lined with aluminum foil, which could potentially bypass the store's security alarms. This made it difficult for her to deny her shoplifting. >> Okay. Is that what you guys came here to do today? Was to steal a bunch of merchandise? You on probation, bond? Anything like that right now? >> I'm not on probation. >> What are you guys stealing the stuff for? >> Typical. >> For drugs. >> Cash. So when they called you out on it for stealing stuff, they were right. >> And then Dakota threatened to punch him. >> Who's the employee? Can we have the employee come back here that was threatened? >> He only threatened to punch because of the way. >> I can send him down here. >> Send him down here if you can. Thanks for blocking that door as long as you did the best. >> You're all good, man. You can only do so much. >> No. Do you want to ask her any more questions? I'll go get your car and bring. >> Okay. Well, thanks for coming out. >> What's that? >> I don't want to go to >> You said the ran. What was I supposed to do? >> Stop. >> I ran and I got scared and I got scared. I didn't want him mad at me. >> You want Dakota mad at you? >> Have fun. >> Well, it's just starting. >> Were you there? >> I got caught up there. I'm dealing with him, too. >> Were there items in the purse as well? >> There's one. >> How did you and him get here? The >> bus. The bus. >> You doing okay back there right now? Uh, we got some stuff to deal with with Cara, so sit tight. Why are we getting in the car? >> To go to jail. >> Why? >> For resisting. >> For resisting >> and theft and your bonds. >> I didn't go to the I didn't stealing. I didn't get out of the store. I was still in the store. >> Where were you headed >> to hell if I don't pray? >> That's not what I meant. Yep. I I'll let if you're cool with me the whole time, I'll let you see him before we go. But you got to be cool. Don't try to do anything. With the merchandise valued at $990 before tax, she could face a theft charge. But according to the employees, she had a prior history at this store, making the allegations against her even more serious. >> I ran into this guy 3 weeks ago doing the same thing back there. >> Yep. >> And he went off the handle on me. >> Put his backpack out of the way and he heard me say that. He comes around the corner and he starts dropping NFL. >> Perfect. I'm go find my spot. I'm going to search you and then I'm going put you in the back and we'll head down for harassing you and stuff like that. I see if you need help out like >> Hey, I'm search on your breast regions with the back of my hand. Okay. Back of my hand only on camera right here. >> Just trying to claw underneath him a little bit more. Then he he said, "How would you punch?" And I said, "That would not be a good move." Then he backed up a little bit and went away and then it escalated again in like 10 minutes with Mitchell on the middle of the floor. >> I noticed her over in my apartment and I could tell she was kind of sketchy. So I kind of followed her for a little ways back into sporting one point. Yeah, I was waiting at the end of an aisle. He came walking down the aisle. I just asked him if there's anything I could help her with. >> Where'd you get the shoes, Cara? >> Okay. And I'm They just look awful new. told me like uh no if you weren't following me to pursue harassment or whatever. Press harassment charges on me. >> We'll just go sit in the back. Okay. >> Yep. I told you we would. Yep. You're going to go in the car and you we'll drive up to him. >> But then I followed him over back to my apartment open. Hard lines here. And I called another bigger guy to be over there in the apartment with me in case anything happened. He saw me again, followed me into one of the aisles, threatening to knock me out. Put your butt in first. Then you put the window down as you drive. Okay. >> If you notice the woman's constant drinking, that was one of the signs often seen in people who use heroin. And on the way to the police station, her passing out seemed to prove it. >> Cara. Hey, sit up. Cara, can you sit up? Cara, sit up. >> Sit up. >> Are you okay? You can't just be bending over. Can Can you lean out the door a little bit at least? Car, do you want to get out? Yeah. >> What happened? Do you pass out easily? Do you pass out a lot? >> I never done that before. >> Never done that before. Did you use it all today? When did you use >> They have first responders coming to check her out. I guess she passed out, but she should be fine. You guys didn't use anything today, did you? >> No. >> You guys didn't use meth, heroin, or fentanyl at all? >> No. >> Okay. Don't I'm not asking to charge you with it. The only reason I'm asking is because if I can tell those guys that it might be an overdose, we could help her more. But if you're saying it's not an overdose and >> she thinks she's overdosing. Said she used both heroin and meth. She was uh good until we put her in the squad. >> Seems to be a kind of a new trend which >> people back in the squad. >> I know. >> She was she was had no issue running through farmer tweet. >> Don't fall. Don't fall. Get on the cart. >> Come on. Come on. Back up. Back up. Look at that. Move the car and move up. >> Okay. I got the keys done. >> In the end, the woman was charged with felony retail theft, intentionally concealing merchandise, party to a crime, bail jumping, and misdemeanor resisting or obstructing an officer. All charges were repeaters. The lesson: trying to hide stolen merchandise or run from officers only makes the situation worse. And when substance use becomes part of the picture, the consequences can quickly go far beyond the original theft. >> Just need to talk to you. Just stop for a second. Just stop for a second. Right. I'm pretty sure to talk to you. >> You guys rented it. Somebody rented it though, right? >> On February 3rd, 2023, the police received a call from a Hertz store reporting a fraud scheme carried out by a woman. The suspect was believed to have used a fake ID. Upon arrival, the employee also provided a brief statement about the incident. >> Say it again. >> The driver's license she's presenting is showing that it would be fraudulent in our system, >> which is what we've been seeing. She just made the reservation. When I asked for a second form, she had to go get it from her brother's car. She's trying to leave. So, we've been seeing a lot of um people fraudulently obtaining driver. >> That's the one right here. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. 333. >> The female suspect appeared to be attempting to leave, forcing the police to quickly intervene and stop her. >> Ma'am, you need to stop. Ma'am, we just need to talk to you. Just stop for a second. Just stop for a second. Right. We're just here to talk to you. All good. All right. Go. Come with me. All right. All good. I was just going to talk to you. >> Which one? >> Um, they said the ID was fake. Somebody gave me ID. >> 450. We were unable to copy what you said. >> They asked me to give them a run on their name. >> Where? >> Okay. >> And they was like, they gave me their ID. So, I did. I didn't know was I was going to get in trouble for it. Like real bad in trouble for it. So, you use somebody else's ID? >> Okay. Do you know who it was that you used the ID? >> Um, I don't know the name. I >> mean, the person who gave me the ID. >> Okay. So, you got it from somebody you know? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Were you trying to rent it from? >> Mhm. >> Okay. All right. Do you um They took the ID from you? >> Yeah, the people got it. >> How come you're not using your ID? >> Um I don't have a license. >> You don't have a license? Okay. You know, you can't have a car. I'm sorry. Okay. >> Are you or you with somebody? Um, I was in Uber. >> You Ubered in here? >> Mhm. >> Where is your ID right now? >> Um, in my purse. >> Okay, let me I'm going to have you put your hands on. Thank you. No, you're good. You can put your hands down. I just don't want them in the pocket. I'm cold. >> I know. I know it's cold, but we got to keep your hands out. Okay. >> Okay. Why don't we >> I'm going to >> go to our office where it's warmer. who talk to a girl. >> From the suspect's responses, it became clear that she was working for a fraud organization. Shortly after, a search of her person was conducted. >> Close. Okay. You got anything in your purse or you're just need to worry about moving anything? No. Just charger my car. All right. Don't reach in the pockets. It's all good. No, no, it's okay. Don't reach in the pocket. You can hand I don't want to step on this foot. >> So, you just started a open hand. >> Yeah. >> Okay. at the beach. >> Maybe get a copy of that, right? Really? >> Yeah. So, what were we going to do at Helping Hands? What was your new position? >> I don't want to. >> Well, did you commit a crime? >> I don't I'm a crime. >> Okay. Where is your real ID in this? >> Somewhere in there. >> What name will we find when we're >> All right. What was the name on the license that you gave? I don't know. >> Okay. So, your friend gave you is not your friend's ID though either. >> Okay. >> At the police station, the woman appeared to admit everything once she realized the situation, but her personal information and other documents still forced the police to verify and uncover the details on their own. >> The who rented the car? >> Um, it's in the the bike. It's in the name on your the ID. >> Yeah. [snorts] >> All right. >> But you didn't you you rented it or somebody just told you to go pick it up? >> Yeah. >> I'm sorry. I >> So, is it just laying loose in here or is it in a purse or what? >> Like the side pockets over here. Here's the the we >> So, you guys rented it? Somebody rented it though, right? >> Mhm. And you said your friend, what's your friend's name? >> Brandon Gibson. >> What is it? >> Brandon Gibson. >> Brandon Gibson. >> And he said he rented the car. He paid for it ahead of time. Okay. You didn't have to present a credit card or anything? >> All right. Copy. I'm wondering if the credit card that they rented it with was also fake or that went through. >> So, you just got hired at Hoping Hands today? >> Yeah. Well, no, I got hired like last week, but I started today. >> Oh, today's your first day at Heling Hands? >> It became evident that she knew little about the scheme as she was merely being used to rent the car as part of the organization's theft operation. Even when questioned by detectives, she struggled to provide clear answers about the situation. >> I was [snorts] never told that I was just going to she drop it off and I was just going to park it outside my mom's and go to work. I'm not going to lie. >> So, you were going to park the car outside of your mom's? >> Yes, I just said that. >> Well, like you have trouble seeing, I have trouble hearing. So, please bear with me. I uh I'm a little older. I'm just trying to hurry up and go down to the jail. I know. I don't want to talk no more. I'm not going to lie. This stressing going to make me have another stroke. >> Well, we don't want you to have any kind of stroke. We don't want you to be under stress. However, we are trying to >> Okay, that's all I know. That's all I can tell you. I don't know nothing else. >> She was charged with theft of property and identity fraud for using another person's information to unlawfully obtain a rental vehicle. This case showed that blindly following others in illegal schemes could still lead to serious consequences even if you were not the mastermind. >> Ma'am, can I stop you real quick? >> Yeah. Can we just step inside? Thank you. >> I know you don't want [laughter] me to search. >> On June 13th, 2025, police received a report from Target about three women engaging in shoplifting at the store. Officers immediately arrived at the scene and swiftly stopped them, leaving the suspects in a state of visible panic. >> Hey ma'am, can I stop you real quick? >> Yeah. [clears throat] Can we just step inside? Thank you. >> You guys together? >> Yeah. >> Can you guys Yeah. Can you step inside, please? Thank you. >> What did I do? >> Who's speaking? I'm sorry. I didn't want to block the door. If you guys want to just head towards the the office right there. >> Okay. I just almost >> The women appeared confused, not understanding what was happening to them as the woman in the purple shirt was taken aside. Officers explained the situation to the remaining woman. >> So, we got a call about um individual concealing items. Um it's basically shoplifting. Um so, we're just trying to determine what was taken. Um obviously, you guys came together. Um if you pay for your items, then I document that. I spoke to you, but if she took items, then she's going to be arrested, obviously. Okay. >> Okay. But >> I don't even know. What just >> you paid for your items? >> Yeah, I just want to right here. >> Okay, that's all you got? >> I bought something baby clothes. >> Yeah, it's my shower caddy. >> Did you guys came with another person or is it just Easter? >> Uh my friend, I don't know. She went I was walking around waiting for You can hold on to this. >> The suspect was identified as the woman in the purple shirt who had been taken aside first. This raised a key question. If the two had been shopping together, why did they have separate carts? And did she know about her friend's shoplifting? Only reason I got another card is because the customer I mean the self checkout say 10 items or less and I clearly got way more than 10 items. Got you. >> So I went and got another card separated my stuff so I can pay for it. >> So if you if like I said if you didn't shop with um if they did obviously they're going to be taken back to the police department um and then we'll sort it out from there. And if you're able to if you want you can just wait for them to be processed or you can come back and pick them up. But that's what we're just dealing with right now. So you're not, you know, [laughter] >> wondering what's going to put my phone back up again. I'm >> texting my girlfriend. >> Yeah, technically you're detained. So just like keep it away in the meantime. You know what I mean? I know it's a little overwhelming. [laughter] Yeah, if she doesn't have any warrants and if she's not one for anything, then it's just a summon. So, we get her process at the police department and then once she's released, >> it's Eve. Um, >> they have >> Yeah, when you look at it's 984. When you look it up, it it should be the first one that pops up. Emp this is >> you got this. Yeah, you got the screen that I can't see. >> Oh, I'm sorry. >> No, you got it. That's it. 984 Tucker. >> What' she even take? >> Little stuff. I told mom, >> what did she pay for? She was just What did she pay for? >> So, the woman claimed she had no knowledge of her friend's wrongdoing, yet she showed no intention of cooperating with the police. Shortly after, officers proceeded to search the suspect's bag. >> It looks like the whole bag is still working. You just >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I'll take the whole bag. >> Just the whole bag. >> How do you want to do it? Yeah. You want to do it that way? It's not the bag. Okay. 2037. >> All right. Yeah, you can hang on to that stuff. >> We get there. All right, we'll meet you over there. >> If anything, you can call our main line if you have any questions, but we got to get them done with paperwork. Okay, it might take a minute. >> Yeah, we'll do um >> Can we do >> If anything, you're able to leave and come back. You know what I mean? They got their cell phones and you can pick them up later. It's up to you. While the woman in the white shirt was released after being confirmed innocent, one final woman remained, she was definitively identified as having committed the wrongdoing. Oh yeah. >> Are you okay with me? >> It's up to you though. It's just easier if I see you in kind of document on this property and stuff. I'll keep your driver's license. >> Which where did you park? Should we do >> I don't know where I know you don't search me. Search policy type thing, you know. your arms real quick. I'm just going to check your waistband. Okay. >> Sorry. [laughter] >> I do. >> Okay. Anything um kept in the front? Money? Anything? All right. Just going to shake the sides out. Mhm. Cute. All right. All got here. >> No problem. >> [laughter] >> It's >> In the end, the two women were charged with retail theft, shoplifting. Even when surrounded by others, each person is responsible for their own actions. Choosing the wrong company or ignoring suspicious behavior can still lead to serious consequences. >> All right. Well, you want to talk to me? >> Yeah, it's I Well, Target is so racist. >> No, there could be felony uh charges on something like this. So, >> a felony charge. >> Mhm. Yeah. >> On the 10th of June 2025, officers received a call from a Target store after a woman named Latoya was reported for attempting to leave with merchandise she had not paid for. To understand exactly what happened, let's hear the employees statement. >> Yeah. So, I have her trying to leave right now. >> I'll talk to you a second, miss. Okay. Right now, you're not under arrest, but you're being detained. Okay. >> Detained. >> You are being detained. >> So, that's her trying to leave. She did pay for a large portion of those items. Um, specifically what we know of, she had two Hot Wheels items that she kept under the seat there while she was checking out at the register. When they looked away, she pulled both of those items out, put them into bags. Uh, she still had a basket in there as well with some cosmetics, uh, maybe some jewelry items. She went up to guest service. She paid for a bunch of items up there, but left all those items in the basket. So, then she moved to exit through those doors there, and that's when we stopped her. Uh, we do also have a record of her with Target. Give me one second. I'll pull that up. My system is being dumbly slowed today. Didn't get back in the office. And then today's incident where she was moving with those items. >> So, it is going to take us a while to get the video together. She was in here for about 4 hours. >> Okay. >> Um >> 4 hours in one duration or over >> Yeah, 4 hours in one duration. Um the >> Do you have the receipt of those? >> Is that all this? Does it look right? >> Yeah. So, this looks right. We will double check it against the other items, but this is all the stuff that was left in that basket. Uh along with the uh is that with the two toys on it? The two Hot Wheels? Yeah, with both Hot Wheels on there. >> Um so we'll double check to make sure there's not something else, but we're going to have to I'll actually have you go back out and just ring up. >> If there's anything else, you guys can send them my way. I'll give you my email and stuff like that. >> Okay. All right, miss. Like I said, you're not under arrest right now. You're being detained. Um so do you have an ID with you? >> Faced with the allegations against her, the woman could not deny what had happened. But instead of showing any remorse, she became irritated and started accusing the employee instead. I don't and I don't even >> credit cards which you gave me for ID. >> Are you Latoya? >> I am. >> Okay. All right. Latoya, you want to talk to me? >> Yeah. It's I Well, Target is so racist. Um when I was in the soon as I came through the door, that girl with that uh neon shirt ran to the ran to the front door and I took video of it. Um when I walked up to the front, no one was there. no asset protection, no nothing. And so I was like, "Oh, okay." So then I recorded him and I recorded her walking up to that door and I'm like, "Oh, so now they're profiling." And so I went to that register, register one. And I don't even know what he's talking about with the Hot Wheels cuz I did my total was uh $219. >> Mhm. And so, um, when I was at the register and I had a a basket and so the lady at the register was acting antsy that she wanted to go to lunch and the other older lady was like, um, you can go ahead and go to lunch. And she was like, what you going to do with that basket? I'm like, I'm going to guest service. And so she put everything around the basket and nothing in the inside. So I went to guest service. I had two baskets full of clothes already waiting at guest service. And so, um, >> what kind of service are you talking about? >> Over here at the service desk. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So, >> this is for for merchandise that you had in your cart. >> Um, that I was going to pay for. They had things on hold, like uh my kids clothes on hold. >> The woman then tried to tell her side of the story to justify what had happened. But the more she explained, the more the officers realized that her story simply did not add up. >> So, um, I rolled up to guest service. I did the first basket. Um, and then the Indian girl woman came and I asked her to get two kitty pools for me. And so she got two kitty pools and then she I guess she decided to help the other girl. And while she was helping the other girl, she just put the pool right on top of my basket and I was check out the basket. She just put the pool right on top. There were no bags there. Like nothing was just sitting wide open from register one. >> Mhm. So, when I went to guest service, um, bring up all my clothes and my houseear stuff. >> Okay. But typically, you're supposed to pay for all the stuff over there at the register before you go to the place that's probably right next to the exit, right? >> She was complaining about going to lunch >> register one. She didn't want to work anymore. >> So, she >> So, so you walk past >> H. >> So, you just walk [clears throat] past and say, "Okay." >> No, she she asked me about my basket. She said it was okay to take it to customer service. >> Okay. >> Cuz it was already in the basket. So >> when I was at gas service after she got the pool, she just put it [laughter] right on top of my basket. >> And so I paid for everything thinking that I got the damn basket [snorts] cuz I'm working with the other lady. >> All right. So what happened after? >> So um after I'm going to go get into my car and these two people. >> Okay. So suddenly it went from the service desk to getting into your car. >> I paid for my stuff at customer service. >> Okay. What about the other $180 that you didn't pay for? >> $180. >> Yeah. That's what the receipt said. >> Of what? Could I see? >> Looks like Looks like there were various toys, other things that we had there. >> It was everything that was inside. >> Let me see. >> A bunch of the cars we didn't get paid for. >> I understand if you went to customer service to pay for the rest of your stuff because of some other situation if that's $20. >> The black jacket. >> The black jacket is $15. >> That's the clearance price for it. >> We're just negotiating for the >> It's not even on here on clearance, though. She still stubbornly tried to act innocent even after the officers explained what she had done wrong. She did not seem to feel any remorse. Even after admitting that some of the merchandise had not been paid for. >> So there's some things that you're disagreeing that you stole, but some things that you did walk out with. >> Yeah. So I I don't know how she she forgot what is the HH basket cuz that white basket she's supposed to have scanned. Is that what's on there? >> Okay. What do you remember walking out with that you didn't pay for? >> That's right. That's the the room sprays. >> Oh, hold on. But it says HH closet. What's that? >> Yeah, that's that's the brand that brand. >> Oh, okay. >> Toya, what do you remember walking out with that you didn't pay for? >> Everything should have been paid for. >> Everything should have been paid for, but but it wasn't. So, what what didn't what wasn't paid for? >> The the basket they had the makeup >> and a bronzer and a jacket that was supposed to be $15. >> Okay. >> Everything else should have been paid for. >> Okay. That's That's what we got you on video. Obviously, walking out with with merchandise that some of the women >> the basket was inside the basket for her to ring up. >> But when I'm working with the one lady for her to ring up the clothes, imagine me you paying for one thing and then a lady another lady has a big pull and she's like, I'm just going to sit it on top of your car and she just sits it on top of the car. >> Okay. [laughter] >> Okay. All right. You're obviously concealing stuff. just uh hang out with me with my partner here for one second. I'm going to be right back. Okay. >> Yeah, cuz I told him like if it's whatever, I can pay for it. Like I don't even know how that happened. >> At this point, her guilt was clear, but she still seemed to think it was not a big deal, forcing the officer to explain the situation to her once again. >> So, we're going to have to take a look at that. You're going to come with us. Okay. So, what I think should probably happen was >> for $100. >> Yeah. I mean, a dollar. We do it for a dollar. That's That's what retail theft is. Okay. Um, so real quick, you bought some food and stuff like that. It might be best that maybe you put that back on the shelf as your refund or something. I don't know. >> The food she had was from like Chipotle or something. >> Oh, okay. >> So, she brought that in with her. Uh, all the other items out there that she paid for um can go with you guys or >> How much stuff is there? She's got some plastic uh pools as well. So, she's got quite a bit, >> right? Like, that's it doesn't even make sense. Like, >> okay, >> this lady puts >> Do you guys have Do you guys have a way of holding on to that? >> We hold on to it. Yeah, we don't usually, but I can we can absolutely hold. So, yeah, this the tricky thing is we don't want to bring back. They won't do anything with it. We'll set it aside and make sure it's here. Um >> Okay. Well, I've got you real quick. >> The only thing is we can't have her come back in for it. Um >> Okay. Do you have a card by any chance? I can grab one from there. >> Okay. All right. >> What usually happens like usually they give you a ticket. Like what's going on? >> No. There could be felony uh charges on something like this. So, >> a felony charge. >> Yeah. If you've been this could be felony pointed at this point. Yep. That's kind of how things go. So yeah, sometimes we do tickets, but probably not for this circumstance. >> Well, can you stand up? Are you able to stand? >> Like this is not fair. Like is this your stuff right here? >> Yeah, this is all mine. >> Okay, I'll come with you. >> Stephen, like I would have I would have hit stuff like >> So I need you to not go into the bag. I need >> I just want to put my wallet. >> Okay, I'll put that in there for you. Let's just have you stand up. Okay. She was then escorted out, but throughout the process, she kept trying to find ways to shift the blame and minimize her responsibility. >> Um, yeah, that'd be good. That's fine. Would that be good? >> Yeah, cuz you could clearly see the the clearance tag on the jacket and you're charging $30. >> Okay. Well, the price is uh the price is what it is. The point is obviously you try to walk out with charge. That's to make me look like I'm doing something and I'm not. >> Well, you walk out with 10 cents or you walk out with $30. I mean, the point is you're taking merchandise, ma'am. Okay. I'm sorry. Well, let my room decide. >> Yes, sounds like a good idea. >> Okay, >> if you could. Yeah, that's what we're just >> Okay, we'll give you just hold on a sec. We'll give you a thing as well if you can sign that. Um, I might have my officer just work on that. Okay. >> Can I get my food and that right there? Is she charging? That's not on the receipt. >> Okay, let's just walk right now. Okay. Okay. I think that >> food officer. >> Okay. >> Unfortunately, sounds like you at the police. >> Yeah, we're not we're not going to let you eat there now. Okay, let us work through this and then if uh everything checks out. >> We might get you going quick, but we have to look at a couple things. Okay. >> No, because things shouldn't matter. >> Yeah, this that's that's going to be up to the state legislators. That's not my call. Is what you told me? So, >> I never said anything. You never read the Miranda rights. >> I told you you were detained. >> You never read your memorand rights. Okay. >> Well, you're in custody now. So, if you want to talk to me, I can read them to you. >> Nope. I'm too big for that strap. >> Okay, that's okay. Why don't we just get your leg in there and then we'll we'll work on that after. Okay. >> Do you need help? You got it. >> Well, I can't sit up with the strap. >> Okay. No, the strap is is way up here. Oh, I see what you're saying. Okay. See this? How about this? There we go. A long time since this happened. and and and no reading of my random rights. Okay. >> Well, like I told you, Latoya, you were detained. I asked if you wanted to talk to me about the situation, and you did. So, >> in the end, the woman was charged with retail theft and trespassed from Target. The lesson is simple. Trying to shift the blame or make excuses does not erase the evidence against you. When the facts are clear, taking responsibility is always better than making the situation worse. Yeah, I put some of it in my bag and then some of it right here. But >> do you remember what you bought? >> No. >> You don't remember what you bought? No. Okay. >> Um, so yeah. >> On the 5th of April 2024, police approached a woman while she was shopping in a store. However, what raised suspicion was that she had placed some items in her bag and jacket pockets, making officers suspect that she intended to steal them. When questioned, she denied the suspicion. >> Ma'am. >> Huh? >> Hi. >> Hi. How are you doing? >> Good. How are you? >> Good. What are you doing? What's going on? >> Uh, nothing. I'm just shopping. >> You're just shopping? >> Yeah. >> What are you shopping for? >> Uh, a bunch of stuff. >> All right. >> I just can't carry all of it. So, >> you can't carry all of it? >> Yeah. I have some stuff put away right now, but I'm going to >> Where'd you put it away? >> Yeah, I put some of it in my bag and then some of it right here. But >> how much stuff is in there? It looks like there's in there. >> Well, I have a lot of stuff. Some stuff's already mine. >> Okay. Okay. So, how much It looks like the bag is pretty full. >> Yeah, but I have a lot of stuff in here, but like this uh this is uh what I was going to buy. >> Mhm. >> Um >> 17. >> This stuff's mine. >> Okay. >> Uh oh. This one I was This one I was going to buy. >> You were going to buy all of that? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> And then Nope. That one's mine. >> Mhm. Uh, that one's mine. Uh, this one I was going to buy. >> Okay. >> And that's it. The rest is >> So that's all that looks like. It still has tags on it and stuff. >> I guess like the stuff like that, especially the like white lipstick or whatever that is. >> This >> um No. Well, I guess that, too. But that one right there, you see that with the tag still on it? >> Oh, this one? >> Mhm. That doesn't look like it's open yet. >> Yeah. No, this one I was going to buy, too. So, I just couldn't hold it all, >> so I just put in my bag until I was done cuz I'm not done yet. I have to buy diapers and stuff, too. >> Okay. So, So, >> but I wasn't stealing anything. >> Okay. What What's your name? I'm sorry. >> Candace. >> Candace. All right. So, Candace, listen. >> In fact, the woman was identified as having shopped at the store the previous day, and police also tried to confirm this with her. >> I honestly I don't remember if I >> do. You think maybe you were? I uh I know I bought something, but I don't remember being here yesterday. >> So, you bought something, but you don't think you were here. Where did you buy something? >> What do you mean, where did I buy something? >> Well, you said you bought something, but you weren't here. >> Uh, no. I know I came here. >> Okay. >> I just don't know what day, but I know I bought something. >> Okay. Do you remember what you bought? >> No. >> You don't remember what you bought? No. Okay. >> Um, so yeah. So, this was the stuff I was going to buy. >> Okay. >> Um, >> what about all that other stuff though, kids? >> Well, that stuff's mine. >> Okay. Even the stuff that had the price tags and still looked like it wasn't empty, like taking it >> out. I I >> Cuz the 9 West looks like you haven't even used that eyehadow. >> See that right there? The eyehadow palette. >> Yeah. >> That doesn't look Oh, I thought it was 9. You haven't even opened it yet. >> Yeah. No, because I don't open all my makeup all the time. >> Okay. So, >> do you have proof that you purchased it? >> Why? I wouldn't carry around the receipt for something I already bought a while ago. So, >> okay. >> Okay. >> Well, let's go up to the front desk and let's take everything out of your bag and see what's in there that might belong. >> Yeah. And and the jacket, too, Candace. Okay. You got to take everything out. >> All right. Let's go to the front desk. Hold on. >> Yeah. So, put that back in there. Put that all that stuff back in there that you had in your bag. Put it back. >> Well, I want to separate it because I don't want It's just going to make our lives easier. So, let's just >> Okay. All right. That's fine. >> Do you have your ID on you, Candace? >> Yeah. >> Where's it at? >> In my bag. >> Go that way. >> Yep. >> Those other makeup products in your jacket. >> She could not even confirm what she had purchased or which items she had yet to buy, raising the question of whether she really intended to purchase the items at all. Even now, verifying the items in her bag remained highly suspicious. >> This one. >> Okay. What's the idea only that you? Yeah, they're both me. >> They are. Can I see it really quick? Just make sure. >> Yeah, they stuck a hole in it. So, I don't know if you guys accept that as a valid. >> No. >> So, >> okay. >> $268 worth. Did you provide video? >> Can you check 54? Let me know how that comes back. >> So, yeah, this is what I was going to buy. Like, I'm already >> Yeah. But you understand what I told you initially though, right? >> It looks bad. >> Yeah, it does. >> It looks bad. I understand that. But I had plan on purchasing the certain items. >> The certain item. >> Yeah. So, like these I wasn't sure I was even going to purchase. So, >> uh when you guys were when you guys came in, I was kind of wondering if they would fit my daughter. So, I don't think I'm going to purchase those because they don't fit. >> So, but I was going to purchase these. >> Mhm. >> And these. At this [snorts] point, police decided to let the store determine which items actually belong to them. But before doing so, they made sure to detain the woman >> on the table. And your money down, too. Okay. All right. Put your hands money back. >> You're going to arrest me? >> Yes, I am. >> Yes, I am. >> The boxes. So, we're going to we're going to make sure everything we're going to keep your hand behind your back here. So, let's just make some she's saying somewhere from another place. Let's just make sure you don't pull that line here. >> We're also being trespassed from this Walgreens. >> Come back to this Walgreens. >> Okay. I will come back to the Walgreens. But >> all these don't want to come back. >> No. No. I know. I mean, I'm not I won't but I'm saying uh I don't want them to They sell that there, but that's actually mine. >> Okay. So, can I just really quick? >> So, that So, how can you do that? Because there's been times where I purchase makeup and that makeup's mine. So, so that's mine. >> All right. So, Candace, listen. Um, >> they don't even sell that in the store. >> Okay. All right, Candace, before let's have fun with that for a second. Okay. You're going to get searched. Okay. Do you have anything on you that's going to stick or poke me or anything like that? >> No, of course not. >> Okay. How did you get here? Did you drive? >> Yes. >> The woman was then searched. During the search, officers noticed crushed powder residue and also found that she was carrying Xanax and amphetamine. >> They were like, >> "All right. Well, have to do." >> All right. >> Yeah. Yep. >> All right. So, Okay. >> All right. So, we take her in and then we'll get the determination how much she wanted. >> Okay. >> Yeah. We're going to we're going to tally everything up that she had that's from your store. >> Then whatever we can't determine is not we'll put back in her place. >> And nothing that's going to >> No, nothing. Just my medication. >> Just your medication. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> All right. See those? I weren't I wasn't buying those those nails. >> Just leave her first year. >> Oh, leave the first year. >> That ID. >> That's not theirs. >> That's where Hold on. >> And then we'll just leave the first year and then we'll um whatever is not from here, we will >> That's just a crusher cuz I can't swallow my medication. So, I put it in the drink and I drink it. In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting. The lesson is simple. If you put unpaid merchandise in your bag or pockets, it can quickly make your intentions look suspicious. Being unable to clearly explain what you purchased only makes the situation worse. >> [music]
