You wouldn't have gone to jail today. >> Chose not rest. >> Oh, please do. >> Why? Cuz I want a felony. >> You want a felony? >> Yeah. >> Touch me. Touch me and you will go to jail. Okay. Now you're going to jail. >> What happens when a shoplifter does not commit their crime quietly? When theft comes with chaos instead? That is exactly what this shoplifting Karen did. So, how did it all end? Find out in today's video. When entitled Walmart Karens get kicked in the ass by nononsense cops. Every situation comes with a lesson to learn. Like and subscribe to support us and catch the next videos. Starting with this woman. She fake cried as if it would earn her forgiveness. >> Grabbing everything and then just putting into the pay attention. >> Ma'am, what are you saying? What are you saying? Please. >> On October 31st, 2025, police responded to a report from Walgreens about a female suspect who confidently left the store without paying. Shortly afterward, officers approached the woman in a nearby area. This was what happened next. >> 63 to Raven confirmed she had a black bag with her so she concealed the items in Hi. >> Did you find her? >> Yes, ma'am. Do you guys want to pursue charges? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Bring back all the stuff she stole and I will add it up so you guys have a total. >> Yes, ma'am. Okay. We're going to have an officer come and meet with you inside the store. >> That's fine. Okay, >> that's fine. I was just curious if you guys got her and I was like, "Yes." >> Shortly afterward, police recovered the woman's bag and handed it back to the store. And that was when the shocking items were discovered. >> All righty. >> All right. This is going to be fun. It's a lot of stuff. >> She got snackies, too. She came in with an empty bag pretty much. I don't know whose Spider-Man that is, though. She stole some Kinder. Like, Jesus Christ, woman. That's everything. >> All right, let's see how much we get. There was a co 16 paraphernelia and that that bag also that foil and uh >> some straws and [ __ ] >> She had a straw in her hand. >> But yeah, >> okay. It may even be felony amount as much stuff as she >> I'm thinking it is. You're still scanning it. >> Yeah. >> Okay. She was like that bagged on mine and I was like it's been property. Cool. Wow. So, we're just trying to see camera footage. >> Back to the woman, she seemed to have anticipated what was about to happen to her. And from her pleading voice, her fear was clearly evident. >> Ma'am, why are you saying why are you saying please? >> Good. >> So, amount is 769. >> So, amount $769. The judge uh may see Saturday, but I don't know if they'll let you out because it's a felony amount. So, you have to just wait and see. >> Cuz I got to do a lot of paperwork. >> I mean, I It's probably best to just tell them or ask them to watch your baby for the weekend just in case you're in there for a while. >> I don't know. Well, man, I don't like when people lie to me. You know what I mean? So that's just what it is. >> This is a a felony amount. So of what happened to the judge. All right. >> But in contrast to her current demeanor, she appeared far more arrogant when committing the wrongdoing. Clearly shown through the surveillance footage and the employees account >> around, you know, just to go around the store. >> Mhm. >> And she went straight to cosmetics and she started just like she spent like 10 minutes in that area. Okay. >> Just grabbing everything and then just putting into the is stuff. >> Yeah, she uh she made an excited utterance. Um she she didn't want to say anything. Um but she was just like she's like, "Sir, I didn't mean to lie to you." She's like, "I owe somebody money." Like, "I owe somebody money." >> Maybe because of the the paraphernalia to this and there, you know, I don't know. >> Yeah. And then she exited the store >> and then I read her Miranda and then >> she said that she didn't want to talk. >> October 1 26. >> Cool. Thank you so much. >> You're welcome. Sorry. >> You're welcome. >> So just a quick rundown of what happened. It was the manager of Walgreens that called in at 2300 Lman in reference to shoplifting described a female black zip-up jacket, blue jeans and a big black back. >> In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting, faking remorse after being caught, never erased deliberate actions. Accountability always followed intent, not tears. Next, the woman even thought that her wrongdoing was nothing serious at all. >> 323 26. Woo! Is that bad or like it's supposed to be if it's over four? >> It's over three. >> Oh my gosh. That's a felony. >> On December 22nd, 2025, police were dispatched to a Target store after receiving a report that a shoplifting incident had occurred involving a man and a woman who showed signs of concealing merchandise. Shortly after, officers arrived at the scene and planned their approach toward the suspects. >> We're going to go wait outside. There's a male with her, but they lost track of him and they don't know if he was taking anything. But, uh, loss prevention is watching her and they're going to try and stop her at the door. >> Brand new. >> We're just going to wait here. >> She's I know she's phone. I called her. >> Yeah. Yeah. She and Nick both have eyes on her, so they're going to stop her at the foyer. There's a male with her, but >> that's what she's saying if he's involved. >> Yeah. She's the one that's at least concealing and openly drinking alcohol inside the store. >> Oh, she drinking inside the store. >> Yeah. >> Cut water. >> Nice. >> So, >> Yep. We got her. Adam. >> As a result, only the female suspect was taken into custody. She appeared visibly frightened and repeatedly tried to contact someone while officers worked to recover the items she had attempted to take. >> No. No, she free baggaged a bunch of clothes, too. >> Is there a receipt in that bag? >> Where's your receipt at? >> That's her receipt. So you are being detained right now in suspension of retail theft. So we just got to go through everything. So >> digital cameras in mind. Do you wish to talk to us? >> Talk to you about what you already >> It's so if you want to talk it's going to be about everything that happened here today. If you want to talk. >> Okay. No. >> Perfect. The woman refused to be interviewed out of fear, believing she would face additional charges if she disclosed information, particularly because she was worried about the consequences of carrying marijuana. >> Somebody get charged for that, too. >> Well, for this university, weed is legal. >> Weed is legal. But so >> weed is legal. Um, we usually don't worry too much about it. Um, how you transport marijuana matters. >> You're not selling any smoke. >> No. What I'm saying? So, if you had, say you had uh a bag, you had a bag in here, and you know how you can go to any of the marts around here that usually sell weed or sell vapes or anything. And they got the uh the realable bags that you can use. You can buy from them for like >> 32326. >> Is that bad or like >> Yeah. >> Is that I thought it's supposed to be over. I thought it's supposed to be if it's over four. >> It's over three. >> Oh my gosh. That's a felony. >> Somehow have a felony on my record for forever. >> I think you can go to court. >> Yeah. >> Go to court. What? >> So you're being arrested for the felony of >> The woman completely failed to foresee the severe consequences of her actions. And even at the age of 27, she did not realize that what she did was illegal. >> Retail theft. And then did she have it inside of other bags? You said >> she was drinking cut water. >> Yeah. >> So >> what? >> Um >> No, I wasn't. Where was it? >> I didn't even have to put that. That cut water was gone. >> Um >> that's stupid. Y'all just be trying to give people charges for no reason. >> I don't know yet. I I have to >> write down this crazy thing. >> That [ __ ] not funny at all. Like what? I can't drink water. >> You can't. >> You don't care. No, that's wrong. I trying to make it hard on me. something to make it harder on y'all. Why would y'all charge me for a cup water that was gone? That's stupid. It was nothing. I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to him obviously. >> So the cup water >> So the cup water >> you were carrying it around the store and you are seen on cam on on video. You seen drinking out of it multiple times. >> Okay. >> I didn't know I couldn't like drink a cup water. >> You can't drink alcohol in public. in a store. >> Okay. I didn't know that. >> How old are you? >> 27. >> So, you've been legally drinking for 6 years? >> Not in public. Obviously, if I knew that, I wouldn't have been doing it. Don't that make sense? >> So, you're telling me for your 6 years of being legally able to drink and drink? >> Yes. >> You're telling I was drinking in public. It >> She showed no concern for the seriousness of her actions. And when officers questioned her further, her lack of understanding became even more apparent. >> So again, okay, you're telling me for six years that you've been legally able to drink. >> You've never drank in public, but today you just >> you just you just randomly decided to and then said you didn't know you couldn't drink in a public place. >> Yes. Yes. If I drink at a bar, I would take that as a public place. If I drink at a club, I would take that as a public place. If I drink at a store, I would take that as a public place. Either way it goes, I'm drinking like it would. So the difference between that they have you serving alcoholic beverages for you in public. >> Okay, that makes more sense. Like he making a serving seem like the way like I'm just supposed to know how am I supposed to know that I cannot drink in public when you can drink in public places? Like it's a bunch of public places. >> Um >> yeah, but like >> are you doing any citation portion for the uh public drinking? >> I'm irritated. I >> You're not even You're not even have anything done with the public drinking? Sorry about being rude. >> All right. >> Can I get like a gift card or something? Or even though I can't go to Target, I can have my mom go to Target and spend my money. Like I don't It's no more that point. >> If it's not going to be Christmas anymore, I'm not going to need the stuff. >> She acted as if she owned the store, demanding to return the items simply because she no longer wanted them. At that point, she was escorted to the patrol car with an extremely hostile attitude. >> Okay. Hey, what what are you talking about? She came in there being nasty to me and I can't be nasty. >> You came in there store stealing. How about that? >> Oh, who cares? It's holiday season. It's going to happen. >> Yeah, it is for your >> Oh, yeah. Great. Okay. Who gives a >> So what? He got a small ass mouth. I can talk back to him. How he talking to me? What is he talking about? It's a freedom of speech. >> You need a bigger person. >> Oh, please. He be the bigger person. He This is his job. He need to be the bigger person. a favor though. >> Yo, he ain't do me nothing to the station. You know, now you can still have money. >> He don't. >> He don't care. That's why he offer that. >> You had to start. Okay. Yeah. Thank you. >> I have to use the bathroom. I need to go. Like for real. Y'all could have let me use the bathroom up in there. >> Next to her in the office is what she paid for. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> I'm going to put I'll put it down in front property. You guys want to send me your key? >> All right. Um, there's also like a a hitter that just needs to be tagged. >> Damn, I have to use the bathroom. >> They let you do that. They let you do that uh when you get down to the county. >> In the end, she was charged with shoplifting. Her attitude showed a clear lack of accountability, proving how dangerous it can be when someone underestimates their own wrongdoing and ignores the consequences until it is too late. Next up, meet a woman with such severe deceit. Okay. >> And I don't steal. So if I need to get in trouble, I need to get in trouble. I don't steal. Never have I stolen. >> At this time, you're under arrest for retail theft. Okay. You get your hands, put them out in front of you. >> On February 2nd, the police approached a woman after receiving a report of a theft that had occurred, and she appeared extremely panicked by the sudden encounter. >> How are you? >> Good. How are you? >> Fine. You coming from uh Hibisports? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Did you have to steal anything while you're in Hibisports? No. >> May I search your stuff? Make sure that you didn't take anything related to sports. >> I mean, I didn't steal anything on the way up search >> to see if that's accurate or not. I They're They're advising that you had taken some items. >> If it's if it's nothing major, then it's not that big of a deal. But especially in today's climate. >> Yeah. No. >> So, there's nothing in there. >> No. >> Okay. So, >> all right. So, get your ID with you? >> Yeah. >> May I see it, please? >> Yeah. Oh, it's in my purse or in my car. >> Hold up. Grab it. Grab it on my car. >> Is somebody else with you? >> Um, no. I'm by myself. >> Okay. Which car? >> The black car. >> Couple black cars. That's the little Chevy. Yeah. >> Okay. Let's walk over there. >> Yeah. >> The woman denied every suspicious question from the police. As soon as she was taken to her vehicle, officers inspected the suspicious items inside her bag. arm. Those didn't just come from Hibbits. >> No, I've had these. >> You've had those? >> Yeah. >> What is that? >> They're just sweatpants. >> Sweatpants? >> Yeah. >> What's the tag on there? >> There's no bra. I've had them. >> Standard fit high-rise. >> Yeah. >> Where did those come from? >> I've had them with me. >> But where where did you get them from whenever you initially got them? Okay. >> And I don't steal. So if I need to get in trouble, I need to get in trouble. I don't steal. Never have I stolen. >> Okay, but this is the this may very well be the thing that they're quick questioning. >> Okay, so >> give my keys. Give me my ID. >> You've been arrested here before? >> No, I've never stolen. >> Have you been arrested in this show before? >> No. >> Sure. >> Yes. Positive. >> What's your name? >> Janelle. Adam. >> Look familiar. Well, >> rare Mickey's are now freaked out. Temple. Heat. Yeah. BL was in there. >> Yeah. Where is it? >> It's not in your purse. >> No. >> Did she give a 27 response with that 28? Her ID did not appear where she claimed it was, and her behavior grew even more suspicious as her search proved entirely superficial. >> Okay. >> Are you still looking for your ID or you? >> Yeah, >> I know. I have my ID now. That's fine. Don't worry about it. Let's walk over here by our squads. >> Yeah. Shortly afterward, the officers returned to the store and attempted to verify the information >> on her. >> What's that? Did she have the pants on her? >> What pants? >> They're these. She lost the tad. They size large in there with these here. That's what she should have had. >> I don't know if she got something else. >> That's what she has. That high res. That's them. She said she bought them another time. >> She did not. I watched it from her back. >> She said she left the uh hanger and the price tag and she walked me over to pants rack and that's what she got. The standard highrise. >> Okay. 70 bucks. >> Okay. Are they wanting to charge for retail back or what? Okay. >> What are you looking to have done here? It seemed everything became increasingly certain when the tag the police recovered turned out to be the key link to the item the woman had taken. >> Where's your charges? >> They do. Yes. >> Okay. Standard highrise fit. That's what that is as well. >> They're hanging right over there. >> Okay. Nike. >> Uh, yes. >> Okay. Well, um, grab a picture of it. now. Oh [ __ ] Did you see all the other stuff in her car? There's a lot of stuff in there. >> Yeah. Kind of new new looking stuff. She didn't want that door open for very long. >> Mm- squatted down first. Started walking around. Okay. Well, silly bugs. Shortly afterward, the police returned to the woman to inform her of her crime, and her attitude at that moment revealed that her earlier denials had been false. >> So, at this time, you're under arrest retail them. Okay. You get your hands, put them out in front of you there. I'm going to cuff you up front just to make your life a little bit easier. Okay. >> Yeah. Turn your wrist like that. Thank you. I'm going to double lock those so they don't clamp down on me by accident. I didn't miss anything on your person or anything, right? >> No. >> Okay. So, just so you're aware, they uh watched you put that in your purse. So, you have the right to remain silent on anything you say and will be used against you in court or other proceedings. You have the right to an attorney. You have the right to have one present with you before any questioning if you wish. You can't afford one be appointed to you free of any cost to you for questioning if you wish. Okay. Okay, I'm having a hard time with this. And >> yeah, I already got it. Okay. >> Finally, the woman was charged with retail theft. Denying obvious wrongdoing only deepened the consequences, proving that honesty at the right moment could have changed the outcome. Next, this woman tried to run and faced with a nononsense cop. >> No, you just did. Let me ask you, have you ever been to jail before? home, then guess what? You wouldn't have gone to jail today. >> On March 23rd, 2024, police received a report from Wind Dixie about a woman suspected of shoplifting inside the store. Upon arriving at the scene, the officer tried to be friendly with the woman, but she took the officer by surprise. >> Hi there. How you doing? Um, let me see your seat up there, honey. HQ 6920. >> All right. So, what we're going to do, guys, please listen. Just turn around. You can tell me after I put you in yet. We're going to figure it out. Come here. >> No, you just did. YOU JUST DID. TURN AROUND. >> Turn around. >> You just did. >> From the police body cam footage, it clearly showed the woman attempting to flee, but immediately afterward, it revealed her innocent act when the escape failed. >> Mom, I was on the call. I'm not going to run from you. >> You just did. Can I Can I call? No. I was trying to move to the side away. >> You just did, >> mama. I was going to the side. >> You just did. I don't care. If you turn around and you run, you're running. Do you understand what that looks like? >> I just want to So, you're going to go to the side. All right. You're going to go to the side by >> Can I call to the side? >> No. We're over. >> So, now I'm going to charge you resisting. >> Mom, I was just going to the side. >> No, you didn't. >> I do. You understand? record everything that happened. >> But you saw that I joged. I moved over. >> You joged. >> I was jogged. >> I moved over cuz all these people was looking at me. >> I got you. Let's go this way. >> So even if you weren't going to go to jail, you are now. >> Dang. I'm not the one. >> Doesn't matter. Doesn't matter. Anytime somebody next to me, you going to have to jump after them. They going to jail. >> I'm so sorry. I do not take my juice off my baby. Jesus Christ. Mama, please. I went to the side. I didn't get the wrong part about it before I did it. >> Immediately after her rights were read, the woman continued to defend herself as much as possible, but officers still found another item concealed on her. >> Demonstrate your rights. Come on. >> No, ma'am. You weren't just going to the side. >> You weren't. You weren't. I'm not. >> Ma'am, I'm no dummy. >> Listen, I've never been. I was not going to. Let me ask you, have you ever been to jail before? No. >> Then guess what? You wouldn't have gone to jail today. >> You wouldn't have gone cuz you would have gotten a notice to appear, >> mama. >> Do you understand that? >> But you turn around and try to take Yeah, of course I do. >> I listen. >> So, do you have anything else on you that I need to be concerned about? >> No, ma'am. Listen, mama. Ma'am, I don't have time for that. >> What's in your pocket? >> I have lettuce. I get what you're saying, mama. But I So, you have lettuce in your pocket. You didn't pay for that either, right? >> Okay. Anything else that I need to be concerned about? >> Anything illegal on you? >> What is What is your name? >> Jamaiah. What's your last name? >> I have a son. He with He's with somebody right now. Are you wearing a bra, Jaya? >> Can you stop my promise? I that part I don't understand. Everything else you said I do. >> You stole my rate. Can I call my auntie when I'm back, please? Okay. She can know what's going on. >> Have a seat, Jamaica. >> Have a seat. >> Go. Have a seat, mama. >> Immediately after backup, officers arrived to take her to jail. The woman appeared utterly pitiful, having given up after her failed attempt to escape. >> While she was pulling that mess of that hole. >> All right, man. Sit out here for me. Okay. All right. I'm going to search you this time and I'm going to search you. Um, make sure you don't have anything on you again. Uh, I'm going to ask you just to be clear. Make sure that you have nothing else on you, nothing that's gonna because once you get to the jail, if you get to jail and you have something on you that's concealed or anything like that, it becomes a felony. Do you understand? >> Okay. Go ahead and turn around for me. >> Where's the tissue at? >> I have it in my hand. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. >> On my phone and my keys in here. >> I'm going get it. We'll get it. Just come over here. Okay. >> Say Say again. I'm sorry. I don't need to wipe my nose. >> Okay. >> Um before my boyfriend get here, when I go, whatever, can I get the She said she can get the news out of my phone. >> I just want to make sure we're releasing your keys to your boyfriend. Is that correct? >> Yes. >> Okay. I just want to make sure. I don't want to say it on camera. >> With the arrival of her boyfriend, he also did not agree with the woman's actions and even stated that she was fully able to pay. >> They just say she was in there working. What the you thinking? You had money. >> I didn't smoke out. I didn't leave with the stuff. It didn't It wasn't official wasn't done. She stopped me. I didn't run from her when she asked me. She told me my cut my hand. I moved over to where we were. I wanted to go where the flowers at so everybody would see where you was. I didn't even her hands was never even off. So say I resisted. I can't outrun you. I don't work out my she get charged with sir. >> I run petty theft and resisting without violence. So both are misdemeanor. All right. what I was telling her, what I was saying to her. I wasn't here when originally this happened, right? But here's just just word of advice. Hopefully this never happens again, right? It's not a big deal. It's a misdemeanor charge, okay? It's not going to end your life or anything like that, right? You'll be out tomorrow, okay? But hey, here's the deal, right? Hopefully, they'll never be next time, okay? I don't I think you're a good person. I don't think this is like a common thing for you. Clearly, you've never been arrested before, right? Okay. But here's the thing. If you if you mess up and you slip up and you do something like that and then the police come up to you, don't resist, okay? Don't run. Don't do anything like that cuz then it just it ties her hands. I was telling her this earlier. I can't. >> Resisting mean you're trying to leave. >> No, it's called it's it's a Florida statute. It's resisting without violence. That includes running, pulling, bracing, whatever they want. I called it three times. You can get it for whatever they want. >> It's it's it's when we have a lawful reason to detain you, right? Which we do if you're stealing stuff and you do anything that we tell you not to do. That's resisting. Okay. Um the >> in the end she was charged with retail theft, resisting arrest without violence. Small excuses and momentary resistance only make a bad situation worse. Cooperating from the start can prevent minor mistakes from turning into criminal charges. Stay stunned. This lady was labeled a local nuisance. >> Why are you acting like you can't walk? You can't >> I can't walk my hands or die. >> On August 15th, 2022, police were dispatched to a bar after receiving a report about a disruptive woman. When officers arrived at the scene, chaos had already erupted simply because she refused to leave. >> Get up. >> GET UP. >> Get up. >> Going to kick you. >> Get up, you [ __ ] >> hell. You got her. >> Watch that thing in her throat there. >> Give me your other arm. Give me your other arm. >> Sit up. >> Walk to the car. >> Walk. Don't resist. Do >> you have anything on you? No. >> After the chaos unfolded, she appeared to calm down, but the resistance continued within that silence. >> You just had to be [ __ ] difficult. >> Get in. >> Have a seat. >> Have a seat. >> Hang on. I'm not taking her out. How's it going? Crow guard. OUCH. >> Get in. >> Have a seat. >> Get in. >> Get up. Have a seat in the car. >> Get in or I'm going to put you in. >> Give me this one. >> Oh my god. Look at me. God. I forgive my father. You realize I don't feel Oh, what the I told you. >> Yeah. >> The woman completely viewed herself as the victim of the incident. Yet, strangely, once again, she became silently defiant, as if deliberately waiting to ignite the chaos. >> Sit up so you can get your seatelt put on. Come on, sit up. Put your bottom in the seat. Come on, just relax. I'm putting your seat belt. >> Okay, thank you. >> Sit all the way up. Did you come here by yourself, Joyce? Okay. You don't have to talk this way. >> Did you get my horse and stuff? >> It's in the front seat of his car. God, they don't know what they're doing. Just relax. Jesus name I pray. Amen. Immediately afterward, the officer returned to the store to verify the details with staff, and it appeared that the woman's behavior was an everyday occurrence. >> Hi, what's up? I'm just going to get a recording statement from you. >> Absolutely. just step out here where someone uses. >> Are you familiar with her? >> Yes, I am. >> Can you describe her to me? >> Oh, 57, 5'8, um, blondes, straight nose, very skinny, very outlandish, wild kind of human being. >> Okay. And you asked this individual to leave the property? >> Yes, I did. >> About how many times did you ask her to leave? >> About two to three times today. About three times yesterday. >> Okay. So, she's in the inside bar area where we just walked from and you asked her to leave. She refused >> and she flips my hat right off my head. >> Okay. >> I saw that. That's okay. >> And right now, we asked her to leave as well. She refused to leave. Is there anything else that you can add to our investigation? >> Not as far as I can tell, honestly. She just she has been a nuisance at this bar since I've I've been here. I've only been here about a month. >> Okay. >> But everybody, you can ask anybody around here. She everywhere she goes, she's basically either trespass or she's a gigantic nuisance. >> Todd, we are going to be taking her down from here. All right. >> Back with the woman, the police transferred her to another vehicle and once again, we witnessed her trouble switch flip on and off at will. >> Come on, Joyce. >> Really? I'm going to do this. I know. Come on. >> Why are you acting like you can't walk? >> You can. >> I can't walk. My hands are done. >> YEAH. >> STAND UP. >> GOD, THAT HURT. >> Sit down. >> Sit in the car. No. >> Sit up correctly. >> There you go. If you lean forward a little bit, it'll take the pressure off those handcuffs. All right. I got to reach right here and grab this other one. Do you have anything in your pockets? No. >> All right. Since you're in her car, she's going to double check. Make sure you have anything on you. Okay. >> Can you check to see if >> I have some? I I have mace. >> You have mace on you right now? >> No. >> In your purse? Okay. >> She she has her purse up there. They're just making sure there's nothing illegal inside of it. >> I don't know. >> I'm just letting you know. >> In Jesus name, I pray. RED. That is so funny. Trump 2024. >> The woman was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer resisting an officer with violence and trespassing. She was sentenced to 36 months of probation, outpatient alcohol treatment, an anger management course, and fines. Even more shocking, the mother treated going to jail as if it were something she wanted. >> Are you going to take me to jail? >> Go outside. >> Just take me. >> Go outside. >> Let the >> Now let the >> I don't care. Go outside with a huge >> touch. Touch me. Touch me. Touch me and you will go to jail. Okay. Now you're going to jail. On September 17th, 2022, officers were called to Family Dollar after receiving a report of a disruptive customer. I mean, I would have told the truth regardless, but I didn't know any of this was happening. This took me for a surprise, which is why I kind of panicked a bit. >> At the end of the day, you know, the thing is like employee theft or people stealing, you know, their business. You know, they get tired of it after a while. And it's like, you might be a nice person with nice intentions, but at the end of the day, it's like they're like you you took and they're going to prosecute. >> So, so kind of >> So, what would this be like in court? >> Well, paying something back. >> You could you could they could they could instill some kind of restitution against you. Now you're really going to spend time in jail. >> As the conversation continued, the police explained what she would face. Despite this, she remained surprised by the consequences of her own actions. >> There's a possibility you might have a warrant. >> A warrant? >> How? >> I don't know yet. That's what I'm finding out. So when I hear back from the other officer comes back, I'll find out what those So that's why I ask you if those tickets were sorted because if if they weren't, then there might be there might be an issue. And then the other actions when you use the card and took the and then use that money that was not yours >> to buy. So there's two things. >> Got it. Okay. >> I'm going to take you down to the station. >> Wait, you still? >> Yes, ma'am. Can you call my person? >> Um, you can have a phone call. Um, when you can't get there, real quick. >> Wait, so why am I going to jail? >> Can you just tell me real quick what's going on? >> I already just explained it to you. >> Well, I know, but you just said that I would probably be able to go home if So, what's the But the problem is is you use the gift cards and you did it more than one time and so you so it becomes an an additional charge. It's not just the petty theft. It's the fraud. >> I have the gift card. >> Yeah, but you already use one of the cards. So if you But I have one in there that's not used. >> Where's the other gift card at? >> It's in there. >> Yeah, but he said you loaded three cards. >> So you use one of them. So the other two, I give it back. I'm giving back. It's right there. >> The woman still failed to grasp the seriousness of the situation. Or perhaps she simply could not believe it was real. >> No way that I cannot be sitting in jail right now. >> Oh man. >> And getting papers. This should have been thought about before you did the action here, >> which is >> which is true. And you admitted to and I and I give you and I give you credit for at least acknowledging that and then accepting ownership of that, but there's also still consequences for what happened. >> These just don't go these just don't go away. >> I know these things just don't go away on their own. There's a process. Okay. >> Okay. Can you at least write my cousin's number down cuz I know when I if I go there, I'm going to be calling off a pay phone and not my phone. I don't know his number. >> We'll we'll we'll accommodate that when we get to the station cuz we still got to go to the station. She's going to process you and then you're going to get booked. She's going to take you up to the county jail. You're going to get booked in there and you'll you'll wait around to your first appearance. >> Jesus Christ. The woman clearly demonstrated her lack of cooperation. Additionally, officers had previously attempted to obtain information from her and they had now recognized the issue. >> So, are you cut too hard? >> So, why are you lying to me about your name? Is this not you? Yeah, that's >> that's you. No, >> that's not you. She She's got markkins on her face just like you. So you lying cuz you got a warrant. >> No, I don't want to talk. I don't want to talk. Period. You can't make me talk. Do what y'all going to do. Do what you going to do. >> Okay. So, we're going to go to jail then. >> Thank you. >> Okay. >> She admitted who she is yet. >> She would not outright tell me that this was who she was unless she was lying about her name. She told me to do what I'm going to do. So, you going to give her the uh the ultimatum in like what are you going to do? Say, "Hey, this is a felony. If you lie about your name, last chance. See what she says." Got war. I mean, she could go felony. She disabled. >> All right. This is the deal. If you don't give me the correct name and you're hiding something, you get another felony on the way to jail. >> What do you mean another felony? >> Yeah. So, what he's telling you is that if you are doing a crime, which stealing a vacuum is a crime. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hey, hey, listen to me. Hey, whoa, whoa, whoa. Listen to me. >> The woman deliberately provided false information about herself multiple times, forcing officers to issue warnings about her actions >> to me. >> So what I'm telling you what I'm telling you. Hey, are you going to listen to me or we just roll the window back up? You want to listen or not? >> Okay. So when you do a crime and we identify you, if you lie about your name, that is called obstructing justice, which is a felony. So what he is Oh, no. Listen to me. So, what he is telling you that if you are lying about who you are because we found out that there's this other person that's maybe you that has a warrant and if you're willing to maybe be honest about it, we don't necessarily have to charge the felony, but if you continue to go down the path of lying about who you are, then it's a obstruction justice felony, which is lying about your name. So, that's what he's trying to tell you and just trying to get you to be honest about who you are. Um, we already have a photo of this other girl that we think is you. So, I mean, it's it's up to you if you want to just, you know, come off it and say, "Yeah, this is who I am. I got a warrant. That's who I am." cuz we've already kind of figured that out anyway. So that's what he's that's what he's trying to say to you in kind of different terms back here. >> I know. So do you want to just tell him who you really are so we can tell? So >> obstructing justice is a felony. >> So what am I being charged with now besides that? >> Well, the theft part, the vacuum thing. We already talked about the vacuum part. >> I'm saying they charge me. >> Well, yeah. I mean, >> he said he was going to give me no trespassing. >> I didn't owe you anything at all. suspension man. >> The black man down there. >> He tried to stop you and you >> Yes, he said he had committed the known trespasses. >> Well, but again, so part of your problem is is people are giving you chances and you're not taking them. So, he probably said to you, "If you just drop the vacuum and walk away, we'll just trespass you and be done with it." But that's not what you did, right? You walked out with why he called us. So again, now we're in this position where we're trying to prevent a felony charge for the obstruction, but you're not listening and you're not taking the warning of if you continue on this path, you're going to get a felony obstruction and you're just continuing to lie. So that's probably what he meant down there is if you just dropped it and let and then they wouldn't charge you, but you left with it. So that's why under the officer's efforts, they were finally able to obtain the suspect's real name. However, they still spent a considerable amount of time due to the difficulties created by the woman. >> Tell me what your real name is. trying to help you here. Give me your real name. Well, it it does matter because it's going to help you keep from getting the the additional charge. Okay. So So give me your give me your real name. Say that one more time. You laid the window open so you can breathe. Thank you. >> It doesn't. >> Is that the one that we think it is? >> Yeah. >> That has >> Yes. I would say that if uh she didn't have the warrant, we could consider listening. We're going over there anyway. I got to do all that anyway. It really changes nothing because it's the same amount of paperwork. >> At this point, with the arrival of a female officer, a search of her person was conducted. This time, no actions or words were expressed. Yet, her resistance was still clearly evident. >> Search. I don't care if they search you. I need to search you. They can't do a thorough search. Step out, please. >> Kyrie, step on out. I need to search you. Nope. It's our policy that we need to search you. >> I got the lighter out of your pocket already, but she's got to she's got to do a thorough search on you. >> I don't know that. This is my first time. Step out, please. >> People lie to us all the time. >> So, it's our policy. We got to search you. >> Step out, please. Separate your feet for me. >> Do a little wider spread for him, please. You have a brawl. Do the thorough surf so I'll get back in the car. Ask you have a bra on. >> What's going on? >> Got no dope on me. >> I don't know you from me, man. So, >> why would be dope? Why could you be weak? >> Okay, fair enough. >> Why have you dope? >> You mind stepping to your right? Step into your right, please. >> Step over this direction so she can get beside you there. You got anything in your shoes? >> No. You going to take him off? >> No. They'll take them off the jail. >> You don't have anything in them now. The extra trust be a felony charge on top of whatever you got going on here to me cuz I already know. >> Your camera on. >> You need to check your cuffs real quick. >> Please. Is there a whole finger in that one? Immediately afterward, the officers returned to the store to return the merchandise and confirmed that this was the second time she'd been there committing the same wrongful act. >> That was only four things. >> Yeah, I think there was something in the bottom, but >> she had like a small box. >> Um, she also has a priority for 500 in my report. >> What uh was that reported to us before? >> Uh, I think I've done an online report. >> Okay. Do you know Okay. >> Um, it was like a month ago ago. >> Okay. Would you be able to give us like date time that we can our >> It would be a leader. >> Hey, can you come up to the service? >> Right there. >> Just change. >> There we go. >> No, she's getting information. Y. >> All right. Um, what was stolen? >> Uh, yeah, it was an ice maker. Um, and then it was a mattress, too. >> Okay. >> And what's the dollar figure on that? >> The ice maker was like 400. >> Okay. Um, is there a photo for it? Check it. >> All right. >> Okay. >> Finally, the woman was charged with retail theft, an active instate warrant not issued by the local county, and possession of a controlled substance. Refusing to cooperate and lying about one's identity only made a minor offense far more serious, turning a simple theft into a situation with heavier legal consequences. This.
