YOU'RE not listening. I didn't get you and I did not intentionally try to steal anything. I was having issues over there with the scanner. This stuff is $200. Why would I take that little amount of stuff? >> Ma'am, you need to come with us. For what? Cuz you're detained for lawful investigation. Okay. >> Okay? What am I being detained for if you don't mind me asking? Um So, how much were you going to get paid for this stuff? Um I was supposed to get paid $200. Some people, whether driven by hardship or simple greed, chose the wrong path by shoplifting. Remember, a crime was still a crime. No excuse could justify it once law enforcement stepped in. These are the moments when police unexpectedly caught petty thieves. We are This is Law. Don't forget to like and subscribe. Starting with this woman who believes she was the victim. Yeah. She just literally had me on the ground and I think broke my arm. I can't Please stop it in this life. Stop. On the 16th of December, 2025, police stopped a woman as she attempted to leave a Neiman Marcus store on suspicion of shoplifting. And in that very moment, the situation quickly escalated as she immediately denied everything. I'm not a shoplifter. What are you doing? I was trying to leave. >> What did they tell you to do? >> Can I please explain to you? >> Yeah, you can explain to >> We got the officer to talk to you. >> back. I have things that I'm going to Okay, sure. >> be You'll be out the store. Okay. to return. Okay. Okay? We're giving Give us an opportunity My daughter is a diabetic. She has to be picked up. My alarm is going off right now. Can you just show me your purse? >> He just literally had me on the ground and I think broke my arm. I am not kidding you. I It hurts so badly. Like my right arm. Your right arm is My right arm hurts so badly. MY DAUGHTER JUST CALLED ME. SHE'S a diabetic. YOU ARE WELCOME TO COME TO MY HOUSE. WE'RE not going to go to your house. We're ain't going to leave until you do. You can COME TO MY HOUSE. I HAVE TO GO GET HER. A stream of excuses poured out from the woman as if she said whatever came to mind, and even when officers tried to steer the conversation back to the incident, she made it anything but easy. So, what is what they're talking about? What are It's not what I can tell you. So, what is what they think you may have taken? I don't know what they think I took. I don't know why they think I took anything. It's in the brown bag. >> No, it's in this. This is my purse. OKAY. WHY DO THEY WHY DO YOU I DIDN'T Show me the evidence. What is the evidence? Take a deep breath. >> I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS. I don't >> Take a deep breath. I don't understand this. I don't understand why they're doing this to me. I literally came in here TO SHOP MY BOSS SOMETHING. OKAY. >> I don't understand this. Listen. I'm sorry. I'm freaking out. >> Take a deep breath. >> My daughter's diabetic. She's not okay. >> Okay. I understand. Where is she? I promise you we're getting SHE'S AT SCHOOL. AT SCHOOL? AND IT'S REALLY BAD. OKAY. I I NEED TO GET HER. SHE'S NOT OKAY. >> IS SHE NOW? SHE needs to go to her doctor. I need to get her pump working. >> serious, they will take her by ambulance, okay? So, you just calm down. >> I have her insulin. >> I get that. I have her insulin. >> that. So, we just need to figure out what's going on. I don't know why they think this. Officers attempted to calm her down to ease the escalating tension, but it didn't go as intended as she quickly shifted to blaming the police in an effort to paint herself as the victim. Ma'am, relax. You're talking We're We don't know We were called here. We don't know. You screaming at us. >> hit me. Do you know what he did to me? Do you need medical attention? You think it's broken? >> I think he sprained my arm. But I first need to get my daughter. >> Ma'am, we can't do that. I I first I I first Can you take this off of me, please? I hope you got that on tape. He literally pulled me to the ground. Can you guys win it first? I WANT TO KNOW WHY YOU'RE GOING THROUGH MY PURSE. I WANT TO KNOW This is not what I've taken. This is my These are my Can you please stop? I want to know why you're doing this. Cuz they're suspecting YOU TOOK SOMETHING. >> WHY? >> AND I WANT TO make sure you HAVE THE RECEIPT. >> TO KNOW WHY FIRST. >> MA'AM. I want to know why first. >> You may have put SOMETHING IN THERE. >> WHY DO THEY THINK THAT? >> CUZ THEY HAVE cameras in the >> No, I want to know why. I did not This is mine. This is mine. PLEASE STOP IT. PLEASE STOP. I WANT TO KNOW WHY. I AM NOT ON CAMERA TAKING ANYTHING. I did not take anything. My arm hurts. PLEASE STOP IT. SHE repeatedly screamed that her arm was in pain, yet in reality, she still firmly clutched her purse, a suspicious contradiction that prompted officers to take decisive action. DON'T KICK STOP ME. THIS IS MY I DIDN'T KICK YOU. >> KICK. >> Why are you DOING THIS TO ME? WHY are you doing this to Ma'am, please >> Why are you doing this to me? >> Do not go to the purse. I bought that yesterday. I was going to return it. >> Okay. They have cameras. Stay here. Do not Do not kick. Do not >> Please I didn't kick her. That is mine. I bought it yesterday. Okay. I I took that out and brought it back. Can you please stop this, sir? I I have TO GO. WHAT? WHY? AND WE'RE ALSO GOING TO >> WHY? WHY AM I GETTING ARRESTED? For shoplifting. For retail theft. Okay? First of all, that top is mine. Okay. >> That is mine. Those are mine. Okay. >> I have Those are not from Neiman Marcus. Those are not from Neiman Marcus. What's in here? This is my STUFF I NEED TO RETURN. No one returns items without actually processing a return and simply walks out of the store. Her excuse was entirely false and she knew it wouldn't work. So at that point she turned again to using her family as leverage to beg for sympathy. >> I will go right home and you can arrest me Okay, stand up for a second. Stand up. Stand up. Can I like ask you please? I'll get them. I'll get them. I'll get them. No, no, no. I will get them. >> Okay, put your hand behind your back please. I will give you my ID. Right now I will give it to you. We're not going back. >> I will give it to you. Okay, ma'am. >> Please stop. You just said I could go home. >> No, we did not. >> I said I would give you give you my address. I said I would give you MY ADDRESS. PLEASE DON'T. I HAVE TO GO TO MY DAUGHTER. THEY'RE WATCHING YOUR DAUGHTER. ARE YOU SURE THEY'RE NOT WATCHING MY DAUGHTER? I HAVE HER INSULIN. They will take care of her. They're not going to let your daughter They don't have her insulin. The hospital does. You're going to let her go to the hospital. That is my stuff. That is my stuff. Ma'am, I'm going to take off this one, okay? This isn't my stuff. The only thing that I took was the dress and I'm going to admit that. But all that other stuff was mine. I Okay. Would you please let me get my daughter? >> an important question for you. Do you have any knives or No. No. No. No. We're going to have to >> give you my I'll give you my driver's license. I will give you my license. >> Okay, we're going to have to pat you down real quick. Okay, I will give you my driver's license. I will give you my driver's license. Please let me get her. Could you please stand up? I have to get my daughter. At this point the woman accepted the reality of her wrongdoing and began to show remorse, but it still seemed like she was putting on a pitiful act to gain sympathy. I'm sorry. It's fake. We can't do anything now. You fought with the loss prevention. Then you then you guys I will get a I'm going to be I'm going to go a go a go >> Why would you get a felony? For doing this. How much is the dress? $700 or something. I'm going to get a felony. I understand that. Okay, but I am telling you I will give you my license. You can come to my house in 15 or 20 minutes. Why? Why? We can't do that. Why can't you do that? >> go to a different municipality and and let you get your daughter. It doesn't >> I know that you guys have have have have come to people's houses afterwards. Right with a warrant, but we have you here right now. Okay, but what about my child? Your child is in good hands. She's not in anybody's hands. Isn't she at school? She She She She She's done. She just took a final. Okay, well, she's still Can I please have my bag? >> to come with us. >> And I And that is my stuff. I have to return those to the You're You're keeping my purse? Whatever. I cannot believe you guys are doing this to me. I cannot believe you I didn't do anything. Although she admitted to the theft, nothing about her behavior suggested any real shame. Even inside the patrol car, she continued to play the role of the victim. No, this is not happening to me. I'm so sorry. No, you're all good. I'm sorry that I acted that way. >> That's fine. I apologize. I appreciate the apology, all You guys You guys hurt me like I've never had a man do that kind of thing to me. Lindsay, listen. Listen to me. I I've just never been so worked up about somebody who Look at me and listen to me. Listen to me without talking. I appreciate the apology, and we're going to work with you, but you got to stay calm, okay? >> I wasn't calm because I I I I just wasn't expecting a man like that to just jump on me And that And that is Okay, listen, that has nothing to do with us, okay? >> You're right, it doesn't, but I was so upset about that. >> gone through that numerous times, and we we fully understand where you're coming from, okay? But you got to stay calm with us. okay? Cuz the calmer you stay with us, the quicker we can figure these things out. Is that fair? Okay. So just chill out. We're going to we're going to figure this out and just give us a minute, okay? Is that fair? Okay. Make sure that my daughter doesn't have to go to the hospital. >> I I understand that and we've already notified the school, okay? Can I talk Can I please explain something to you? Lindsay I've already explained it to you three times. >> then can I explain something to you, please? >> You're going to tell me the same thing that you've already told me. No, I'm not. If I can just get a hold of my husband so he knows what is going on, so he can just have someone rush her her with or someone get her her insulin so she doesn't have to go to the hospital, that would be so helpful. Okay. In the end, she was charged with retail theft. Excuses may delay the truth, but accountability always catches up. Own your actions before the consequences define you. Next, this woman revealed herself as a seasoned shoplifter through every move she made. You don't stop, you're going TO GET TASED. WHAT ARE YOU CHASING me for? >> Turn around. That fell and broke. I don't know what cologne they Yeah. On June 13, police chased a woman after suspecting her of being involved in a shoplifting incident at a mall, but what shocked everyone was her reaction after her failed escape. Keep watching to see what happened next. You don't stop, you're going TO GET TASED. WHAT ARE YOU CHASING me for? >> Turn around. Why are you chasing >> You get over here, too. If I got to take off and chase you, I'm going to tase you. Take it. your hands on her. Spread your feet. It was clear that there wasn't just one suspect. The woman recklessly tossed her keys to someone in the distance, revealing just how coordinated they were. Even the process of handcuffing her became a struggle. Give me your hands. Give me your hands. I bought that. Uh, no. It's going to be obstruction and shoplifting. I bought that. I bought that. All right, see how far away are you? This one. This one. This one. No, the other one took off. I could only get one. All right. On what floor? Notice that the officer hadn't even said anything when he brushed past her bag, yet she instantly claimed the items were hers, exposing her lie, especially when a shoplifting tool was found. That's a magnet remover, right? Yeah. I told her I was going to taze taze her. Chasing her through the lot. The other one got away. I'm a mom, too, so it's unexpected. So clearly it's been ripped off and you It was sold at Tommy John. I mean it doesn't work. That That's what I'm missing. This just came from Yeah, I'll buy you guys another 100 bucks. Probably see the Macy's or Dillard's. Yeah. We got to follow the camera to see where they just came. They I'm guessing he had a backpack. He kept running. So I'm guessing it was full of stuff, too. Code four. 95. And just get a tag if you can. If you And it seemed this wasn't her first encounter with police as both she and the person beside her started suggesting ways to avoid going to jail. So we just pay her ticket and It ain't up to me. It's up to I understand. We appreciate it, though. I'm a mother, so I know how it is. I don't I wasn't She probably was stealing. Yeah, I'm going to get up. Yeah. Okay, come on. Stand up. Stand up. Okay, hold on. Give me a second. Stand up. All right. Love you. Okay. You mind running getting a ride over around? Can you put my hood on? Put your hood on? Yeah. This one. Put your head back so I can put it on. >> Wait. I got your phone. Okay. You got my phone? Yeah, not right now. The woman was then taken to the store's loss prevention office, where she refused to answer questions while officers radioed in additional shoplifting related charges. She also has an entry to the county for knowledge preparation of burglary. Once you say no, it's no. What do you know? All right. Okay, good. Hello. Okay, yeah, yeah. Okay, I will. I head that way in a little bit. It's like this is like a magnet. Yeah. Okay, and this is what was broken. Sorry. You want um I'm just going to take a picture real quick and put it in the bag. Yeah, if you got a bag for it. >> to take a picture of her license? Oops, sorry. I'm going to wrap this back so it won't get messed up. Yes, I'll bring you back a yard. I'll Yeah, I guess I'll bring you back a yard. >> 1651316513 The woman was charged with shoplifting and obstruction. She thought she could outsmart the situation, but her own actions, running, lying, and carrying theft tools only made the consequences unavoidable. Next, the woman believed that being a nurse meant she could not be a thief. >> Well, I On November 21st, 2025, police received a report from Walmart that a female suspect had been detained for shoplifting. As soon as officers arrived on scene, the woman immediately showed her anger over what had happened. The woman kept talking non-stop, even cutting off officers just to defend herself. And even after admitting the act, she still tried to shift the responsibility away from herself. This is the one where she scanned something twice. I didn't understand that. >> This character right here is four something and this one's ten something so she just gave us that one. Well, that's fine. So, let's just give her that one and then she can pay for this one right now. And then the other ones she was holding multiple items. Yeah, and scan one. But it scanned all those items at the same time. I had those poles in my hand. So, if you look on the receipt it it beeped. It said beep. And then the receipt This one she scanned it out. And then So, when they go back if if you paid with a card or something, did you pay with a card today? >> Yes. If they go back and check old video, are they going to find same thing? >> No, I promise to God. I promise to God I did not steal from no Walmart. I have not stolen from no Walmart. I've never been in trouble for stealing. This is not something that goes on. I was on the phone while I was scanning the items and the machine was giving me an issue. You can ask the lady that's down there cuz see she kept telling him, she has the receipt. She has the receipt. I didn't come in here to y'all's store just to steal nothing. That's what I'm trying to steal you. I asked the It was an accidental mistake. I put the pants and the shirt together. It's not like it intentionally happened. You can swipe that card and go to the other stores and see I've never stolen anything. I've never stolen anything in my entire life. I've never been to jail for theft. I do not steal from you. When the employee's account conflicted with hers, she kept interrupting to twist the narrative, clearly trying to manipulate the situation, but the officers weren't as easily swayed as she thought. All right. Well, unfortunately today uh you did leave last point sale without paying for items. So, that is retail theft. So, uh you're in a you're not going to go to jail. You're not going to do anything like that, but you are going to have a charge for retail theft. You're going to have to go to court for it. Okay? Now, it seems it sounds like you drove yourself here and you have a suspended license as well. Well, I have a license in Missouri, but he's telling me the license in Illinois because I'm just moving here from Missouri. You're telling me the license in Illinois is not valid, but I've already went through this with the with the courthouse because suspended in Illinois, you still can't drive in Illinois. But I've seen a hearing I've seen a hearing officer. So my license in Illinois was supposed to be valid because I seen a hearing officer here in Peoria, Illinois over in um off of I don't even know I'm not It's by the Galesburg somewhere exit over there. I'm not from here, so I don't know the Unfortunately, it didn't correct it cuz in the Secretary of State you are still suspended in Illinois, which means >> Well, I didn't I know that. I didn't I know that they were talking about the whole time. >> We have enough going on here with your with the retail theft that if you can get somebody else to give you a ride from here, I won't write you suspended. >> Okay, I will. I will get I will catch a Uber. I'm going to catch a >> fix that with the Secretary of State. >> Yes, please. Thank you. But I won't add that to what's going on today. Okay. So, you just have your hand out here for me so I can get your paperwork. I'm all right. I'm all right. I'm okay. Then we'll get you out of here. Is there anything in your pockets that you Were you stuffing stuff in your pockets? >> No, I don't have anything in my pockets. >> So, we'll search you. You're not going to reach in Don't reach your hand Oh, I don't have anything. Listen, I'm not going to do anything. Cuz like cuz a lot of people that come here they'll put jewelry in their pockets and I don't have anything. He watched me put it in the old store. I don't have any Okay, we I just I got to make I don't feel good. The unpaid merchandise was determined to be approximately $60. So, she was released with a court summons and the officer promptly proceeded with the next procedures. This is I'm going to have you sign this just saying you you're not admitting guilt. You're just saying you understand you have a court date and you're going to show up. >> Well, can I write that on there? No. You're going to get a copy of this. Oh. Not guilty. Not admitting guilt. Yep. That's it. I can't write that on here. I ain't even going to do y'all paperwork like that. It's not admitting guilt right on your camera. Not guilty. Accident. I was on the phone and they said broke out. All right. So, this is your copy. All right. You're obviously free to go with what you had here. Yeah, I'm going to wait on my lift right here. They not They did not trespass me. I'm good here. I'm going to hold on to my statement. Thank y'all. I appreciate it. All right. I'm on my way over there. No, you're good now. You don't have my phone. Come out here and get my car. Do you have any questions or anything? In the end, the woman was charged with retail theft. Remember, small mistakes can quickly turn into serious consequences, especially when dishonesty makes the situation worse. Next, the woman believed that stealing was a psychological condition. She makes no actual attempt at the register to pay. And she just kind of stands here for a long time. Um so, like stealing is almost like a compulsion. On September 1st, 2024, officers were dispatched to an apartment after receiving reports of a Honda Odyssey linked to a theft. Upon arrival, they attempted to approach the suspect, but were met with hesitation from her family through the door. What's the problem? Just an issue with the vehicle I got to talk to her about. The officers tried not to reveal the real reason for their presence, allowing the woman to come out. And just as they had anticipated, she had no idea what was about to happen to her. Hi, what's up? Hey, how are you? >> Fine. So, quick question. Uh-huh. You the owner of the vehicle? Which one? The red Honda Odyssey. Yes, sir. The handicap plate? Yeah. >> Okay. How are you? I'm fine. Okay. Who is that? That's my niece. >> Can your niece come and step out here for me? Really? Yes. >> Okay. Blessing, they want you. Well, what's up? So, your Honda Odyssey was involved in the commission of a crime. What crime? Hey, how are you? I'm good. How are you? I think you know why I'm here, don't you? No. Yeah, you were at Walmart earlier today at 12:09 with your mom's car, is that niece? Yeah. >> With your aunt's vehicle. Okay. You know why. So, we can do this the easy way. And you can tell me cuz I already know. So, I'm just asking you to confirm things I already know about what happened at Walmart. Or we can do it the hard way. Yeah, I took some stuff. You took a lot of stuff. At the same time, another officer was already at the store clarifying everything through the store surveillance cameras. A whole big buggy with about two It was $229.67 or cents. Okay. She scans every item. She even has them like take a few items off cuz she over scans. Then when it comes time to pay, she pulls her card out. She never swipes it. She makes no actual attempt at the register to pay. And she just kind of stands here for a long time. Never actually swiped her card. And then she just she just walks straight away from the register and goes straight out the door. This is her. Did you see her getting into any type of vehicle or anything? Yeah, and we got a partial tag. It's this van right here. So, show you her getting into it. There she is. >> Uh, that's fine. She already left the store with that. I don't care about her getting into the van. >> I just wanted to show that this was how we knew it was her. And when it pulls away Returning to the suspect, under pressure from the officers, she quickly admitted everything. But what stood out was that her family showed no surprise at any of it. What's your name? Sarah. I'm Sarah. She stole a lot of stuff. Sarah, you got anything on you? Right now? Yeah. No. Okay. So, go ahead, face the wall. Can you help me get dressed? She's fine how she is. Go ahead, face the wall. She's got on my shirt. Hey, man. Hey, listen. Let her Let her get Let her get dressed. No. Let her get Let her get dressed. You can't let her go down there. Okay, so here's what we can do. Out of Out of respect for y'all, if you want to bring her some clothes, I don't want you going back in there cuz I don't know if you're coming back up. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. All right, cool. Sweatpants, t-shirt, whatever you want to do. Thank you. So, you hang out with me for right now. So, why? Why? I yeah, I could give it all back. Well, it's way too late for that. I mean, you loaded up the buggy, you bagged everything up, you scanned everything, you literally had one of the attendants take some stuff off cuz you had literally accidentally over scanned items. And then you just wait. I don't know if you were actually on the phone or not, but Yeah. you held the phone up to your ear for a little bit. I don't Like I said, I don't know if you were on the phone or not. You made a call. And then you just left. And you parked quite literally in the very first spot closest to the camera. Well, that's me. I'm handicapped, so I It was your vehicle, which is how I knew to call them. >> tell you nothing. Cuz I was going to say, I saw you. I ran I ran the tag, I saw the license photo, I knew it wasn't you. Immediately afterward, the officers proceeded to place the woman under arrest. >> All right, so go ahead, put your hands up on the wall for you. I appreciate you. So, what I want you to do is reverse your hands like you're praying, okay? Cuz that way it'll Other way. Angle it. Yep, there you go. Cuz that way these will pinch you a whole lot less and I don't want to pinch you. So, I'm going to pull these up a little bit. There you go. All right, hang tight for me. I don't want to lock these so that they don't over-tighten on you. All right. Come on. 95 radio 10-95. In fact, the suspect showed no signs of remorse for her actions and even had some rather unusual views specifically about stealing. Like for a thrill or not? They told me I was a kleptomaniac. That's right. Um so, like stealing is almost like a drug. Yeah, no, no, no. I know what Yeah, I know what kleptomania is. Who told you that? >> My therapist. Your therapist? Okay. Uh in the future you probably want to keep seeing your therapist so you can resolve that so that this doesn't keep happening cuz I don't think you want this to keep happening. No, I don't. So, this is the first time you've been to Hall County? Yes. Okay. So, >> the first time I've been to any jail. Okay. So, when you get done with this, let this be your one and done. Talk to your therapist and different therapist. He's right. Uh if you need to talk to a different therapist or something, you know, if she's not She or he, whoever it is, isn't working out for you, just try something new. Cuz I don't want this to become like, you know, whether it's here or, you know, if you move somewhere, wherever you end up, I don't want this to become a reoccurring thing for you. You get me? Cuz right now, it's not the end of the world, but if it becomes a consistent pattern, long-term, it's going to cause you a lot of problems. And I Like I said, I don't want that for you. Ultimately, the woman was charged with theft. Excuses and lack of remorse only make consequences worse. Owning your actions early is always the smarter path. In the next case, this woman stole something even more unusual. Well, let me go ahead and describe this. A lawful criminal investigation. That's all you need to know right now, okay? So, you're not free to go. Come out with us. credit card information Look at this. Open. Why Why is it open? Why is it open? Um On March 22nd, 2026, police received a report of stolen mail, and the suspect was identified as a woman carrying a large bag, taking items from her mailbox and her neighbors. Officers quickly intercepted her at Dollar Tree, leaving her completely bewildered. Hey, I'm good. How are you? Sorry, ma'am. We're at the police department. You need to come with us. For what? Cuz you're detained for lawful investigation. Okay. >> Okay? What am I being detained for, if you don't mind me asking? Well, let me go ahead and describe this. A lawful criminal investigation. That's all you need to know right now, okay? So, you're not free to go. Come out with us. All right. We're going to describe it. Don't worry about Okay. Can I call my um No. Nope. We're going to describe it. We're going to take this right here. Okay. I'm going to take your hands. I'm going to put you in cuffs. Okay. All right. And how long am I being Am I just being detained or Yep. You're being detained. Okay. It's for a lawful investigation, criminal investigation, okay? >> or We'll talk about it in a few minutes. >> Okay. All right. I'll grab your stuff. Don't worry about it. Stuff fell on the floor, sir. What's up? Stuff fell on the floor. Okay. Did Did you buy it? Uh Why is this one here? Yes, you can. Don't move it and it won't What stuff fell on the my purse And I can't You're nervous. Yes, I did. If you don't want me to care. In there? Hold on one second, Alora. You said you stuff in here? Um it was the toilet paper. How did it get out of there? I'm going to pull from here. Okay. No, sorry. It's all What stall were you in? I was in the big one. The big one. The big one. As expected, police found a large amount of mail discarded in the bathroom trash, seemingly an attempt by her to erase evidence. But when everything was uncovered, she had already crafted a story to evade responsibility. Okay, I'm going to give you the one chance to be honest cuz we all know why we're here right now. Okay. So, what in the world would compel you to steal all that mail today? You're running around here looking like freaking Santa Claus. >> Um I did not have that bag to begin with when that woman stopped me. >> Okay. Um I was actually holding onto it for a friend cuz he was actually going up the road Okay. >> and doing it. Um Who's your friend? Who's my friend? >> Yeah. Um her name is Rachel. Rachel? Rachel? I don't know anybody named Rachel. What's her last name? >> I don't know. She's redhead. She tricks. She tricks? Yeah. >> Goodness gracious. Yeah. Okay. So, that's why I gave that to to that woman. I was like, I don't I don't I You know what So so you left there, right? And 15 minutes later some other guy called and said that you were at their house. No, I stopped at the house. I can show you the house. It's right here to take my hoodie and everything off. All right, but what happened on the street when you left that lady? All this discarded property in the trash that we're allowed to go through Yes, that's it. is all the addresses that we were just at. Yes, sir. So this is mail from all that stuff. All them places. Police searched the discarded mail bag and found some items torn open, including victim's personal information. This raised serious doubts about her story that she was merely hired to do this. Uh so, you were you and this girl Rachel were paid by somebody to to bring it to the house on 8th Street. >> Yes, sir. Okay, who paid you? Um his last name was Red. Of Red? Red. Well, I'll tell you let me tell you something. Right now, you're the one that's caught with all this stuff. Look look this way for me. Huh? Can you look over at the uh the coffee shop? Okay. Is there anybody over there any of those vehicles that you see there familiar? Uh no, sir. Okay. And what do these envelopes have? People's personal Credit card information. Why'd you open it? I'm sorry, you were saying about the mail you opened it for what now? >> Um and then there's some more in my hoodie that hasn't been opened. Oh, yeah, I can see it right now. Okay. So, how much were you going to get paid for this stuff? Um I was supposed to get paid $200. >> And then Rachel the same or she get more? >> I don't know. She claimed that another friend was involved, but in reality, other investigative evidence clearly proved that this was a lie. The only problem is is that all the surveillance footage that we obtained in the last hour from all these areas only show you, Ms. Miller. They don't show any other redhead or anybody else with you. Rachel was also going down the road and getting I got the bag from her before I even got Ouch. Duke? Yeah. Yeah, no, no. Yeah, you can put your sunglasses back on. I'm trying to be as helpful as pos- You can raise it back up because I know that it's more There you go. There are a lot of pictures of this. It's the blue the blue gloves. Miss Miller, can you do me a favor? Now we can have a seat. You can rest yourself. I'll help you down. Yep. The woman faced multiple serious charges, including 63 counts of petty theft, 63 counts of fraudulent use of personal identification information. Chasing quick money through illegal actions can lead to severe consequences, and making excuses or shifting blame will not erase responsibility. Every decision carries a price. Worse, the next individual wasn't exactly a thief, yet they still created a highly condemnable situation. And he comes up here and his zipper was down, so I saw his and he had no underwear on. Well, I Well, like I said, we was just horseplaying. As far as I know, we was just horseplaying. Okay. >> Like I'm not point I'm not trying to lie to you. On June 22nd, 2024, police received a call from a convenience store reporting that their employee had been harassed by a man. To better understand his actions, officers arrived at the scene and took a direct statement from the victim. I got a call Yes. from somebody about a assault that happened overnight. >> Yes, that was me. >> That was you? Okay. >> Yes. Uh I didn't really know what to do. Okay. >> I work the overnight by myself and Yeah. >> I'm the assistant manager running the store right now, so I didn't know who to call. Okay. He's staying at the hotel. Have you seen him before or okay. >> was staying there months ago. Yeah. And he used to come in here. I used to be the full-time overnight before I became the assistant manager and he would like hit on me and whatever, try to add me on Facebook, whatever. >> Yeah. I haven't seen him in a long time. He came in last night the first time, bought something, said "Hey, what's up?" Left. Ring him up, he left, nothing happened. Second time, I was cleaning the bathrooms. I heard the bell ring. I was in this bathroom right here. Okay. >> the bell ring, I come out and I didn't see anybody and I was like, "Okay." So, I went to the women's bathroom, that's the one I was cleaning and I seen somebody go into our family bathroom. I was like, "Okay, somebody's in there." I finished cleaning the family bath the women's bathroom. Yeah. >> out and I looked around, I'm like, "I didn't hear the bell. There he's still in here. There's somebody still in here." Yeah. And I went back to the bathroom and I seen that the door was open to the family bathroom, so they were somewhere in here. So, I like went to the women's bathroom and I couldn't open the door. I had it propped with the dustpan. Okay. >> And I went to open the door all the way so I could step back in to get all the cleaning stuff out. When I looked, he was hiding behind the door. Of the ladies bathroom? >> Yes. And I was like, "What the [ __ ] are you doing?" And he grabs my arm, pushes me into the big stall, he's like trying to kiss me and I'm like, "What the [ __ ] are you doing? Get off me." From the victim's account, the man's actions could be considered an assault, but it didn't stop there. He went on to commit even more disturbing acts as revealed in her continued testimony. And he's like pushing me and I'm like up against the wall and I'm like, "Get off me." And he finally was like, "You need to be more aware of your surroundings." I'm like, "What the [ __ ] are you talking about?" And he was like, "I've been in here and you didn't see I was in here." I go, "I heard the bell ring." And he comes out here, he's just like, "What if I robbed you right now?" I'm like, I didn't even know what to say. Like, I'm panicking. I'm like, "Uh it's like 3:00 a.m." Yeah. Who am I going to call? And I'm like, "What the And he bought something and he comes up here and his zipper was down so I saw his And he had no underwear on. That he was trying to come on to me and I didn't know what to do. I panicked. I texted her. I said, "When you get here, we need to call the cops Yeah. >> staying over at that hotel." Okay. Do you know his name? James Sturgeon. James Sturgeon? >> Yes. Do you have your ID on you by chance? >> Yeah. And then he tried to disguise it as a joke. He said, "Oh, by the way, I was just joking." After he tried to touch me in the bathroom. >> Yeah, it doesn't work like that. Yeah. I told her about it. She was like, "Why didn't you call me?" I'm like, I didn't know what to do. I panicked. And about how old is he? Uh he's probably >> Like 30s, 40s, 30s, I would say. Do you know James Sturgeon? I don't doesn't ring a bell off top of my head either. White guy, black guy? White. >> When he was pushing you into the stall, >> Yeah. was he just kind of like grabbing your shoulders or just kind of like holding your arm? >> and was pushing me and Later that same day, the suspect was found at a shopping area and officers immediately proceeded to detain him. You stopped me for no reason. So, I mean, >> No, I didn't stop you for Okay. I didn't stop you for no reason. We don't do that. You see all these other people? Okay? I didn't We're not just stopping people for no reason. Okay? You know it's for no reason cuz you know what you've been up to for the last couple hours. Okay? So, I'm going to read you something and I'm going to ask you a couple questions. Do you understand those rights? >> Yep. Okay. Do you want to talk to me knowing those rights? For what? I didn't do Am I under arrest? Right now, you're being detained. Okay? >> Of course I am. Yeah. You're in handcuffs. So, right now, you're being detained. I'm wondering if you want to answer my questions cuz I got some questions for you. What's your question? Okay. Do you want to answer some questions? What's your questions? You were out at Marathon gas station on I-65 last night? No, I wasn't. Okay. So, if you're not going to answer truthfully, we're going to be done. All right. The Marathon Hold on. The Marathon gas station >> you said you didn't want You wanted >> gas station is the one by Taco Bell, right? >> No, there's a Marathon >> There's a Marathon up by I-65 by the the Economy Inn. It's called It's called Good to Go. Here Here's the deal. Listen to me. Okay? I have probable cause to just arrest you right now. I'd like to talk to you, get your side of the story, okay? But, if you're not going to cooperate and you're going to lie to me, I don't have no patience for it. Cuz I do not need your side of the story cuz I have video evidence of what occurred. All right? So, if you want to talk to me, that's why I am giving you this opportunity. If you don't and you want to lie to me, I'll just take you to jail. I'd like to get your side of the story. We can skip the The man completely denied ever being at the scene of the incident, but based on his demeanor, officers could clearly tell he was hiding something. Under pressure from the police, he eventually admitted to certain details. So, let me ask you again. Were you at the gas station at I-65, the Marathon gas station? Okay. So, what occurred when you went inside? I went to the bathroom and I The friend of mine that used to work there, we we was joking around. Who's your friend? Her name was Michelle, I believe. It's been It's been like years since I've seen her. Okay. You say you were joking around. What What happened when you guys were joking around? We was by the bathroom right there and we was joking around and we was wrestling like joking and playing around, like horse playing. And then we went I bought >> Like kicking on each other or what are you doing What are you doing? >> Yeah, just stuff like that, you know, like then I went and bought something then I left. Okay. So, what Like we was cool. We was laughing and joking right there at the counter and then I left. What were you doing in the bathroom? What was going on there? I went to use the bathroom. Okay. Which bathroom did you go to use? The family bathroom. Okay. And after that? She was right there when I walked out and then we was joking around and then we walked out towards the front and then paid I bought some combos and then and I left. And And you didn't make no other actions that I would have observed on the camera. Think about what you did. Think about the things that you did. You're You're aware? Like boy, like was horse playing around. That's all I like that's all that happened. Like I'm being honest. I'm on parole right now. I'm not trying to do any of this. I'm aware you're on parole. He claimed he was telling the truth, but if his story only revolved around harmless joking, then why had he lied earlier about being there at all? Right after that, the officers directly confronted him about his disturbing actions. Okay, is joking around to your, you know, definition of that being including taking your out? Well, it's on the security cameras out, so I don't have extra vision. Well, I mean like if it's out, it's out, right? Well, well, yeah, obviously. Like I like I said, I went to use the bathroom, so I mean >> No, not in the bathroom. They don't got cameras in there. I understand that, but I mean the only thing I could think of is if my fly was Look, the pants don't stay on zipped all the time, man. Yeah, but I watched you unzip it and take it out, so that's a little different. You're saying you have no recollection of taking your out on the inside of a gas station. No. That's a problem. Like I'm seriously not trying to charge any problems, man. Like I'm like I'm >> I know you're not trying to charge any problems. I'm the one who charges the crimes, okay? That's not what I mean, man. Like I'm trying to do the right thing. I'm on parole. I've been doing good. I got a job. Like I'm not doing anything illegal, bro. Well, that's not true, okay? Cuz that's what we're trying to talk about and it sounds as if there was there was some stuff occurring last night that's not entirely legal. Well, I Well, like I said, we was just horseplay. As far as I know, we was just horseplay. Okay. >> Like I'm not I'm not trying to lie to you. I'm not trying to do any of that. Like I'm being serious. Taking your out in public is not a horseplay. Right. I mean I understand that, but like I said, as far as I remember, like I mean I zip my pants before. These pants come on zip all the time. Well, they Yeah, you're saying they come on zip, but you unzipped them. We watched you. That's different. >> Right. I mean I I understand that. You understand? The suspect still didn't realize that officers had already spoken with the victim. After failing to fabricate a believable story about his actions, he immediately continued by making up false claims about the victim's reaction. She grabbed me up a little bit, and then I grabbed her, you know, and that was just about it. And then we walked out, we was laughing. She was laughing the whole time. So, how did you exactly grab her up? You said >> Like I mean point like Yeah, you just explain it with your words. You don't have to show me >> mean point like I didn't really grab her like point like we was next to each other and and from when she turned around, we was right there. So, I mean point like I kind of like gave her a little hug, you know, and that was that was it. Okay. And what did she say? >> her for years. Nothing, she was laughing about it. We went right back up to the to the cashier, I bought some combos, and then I left. I talked to her for a minute, I left. Were you like flirting with her? >> Yeah, we did it all the time. I used to live at the hotel. Okay. Have you guys ever had a relationship? >> Yes. Okay. And were is that what you guys were you thought you were initiating last night again? Pretty much. Like if you're up I mean yeah, that's like me and my girlfriend just broke up. So, I figured she was up there working, so I figured I'd go up there and talk to her and hang out like we used to. >> I got you. Go find some more company, I get all right. >> not trying to cause no problem. >> How did it end? I mean you so you you kind of grabbed her, you were maybe hoping to get something out of it, whatever, but how did it end then? I wasn't really hoping to get nothing out of it. We was just joking around. That's all I thought it was was joking around. We used to do it all the time. >> Well, I mean you just said you broke up with your girlfriend, so you went out there cuz you knew she was out there and that you were kind of grabbing on her and you used to have a relationship. >> said I was grabbing on her, but Or grabbing on her, I'm sorry. Didn't mean to put words in your mouth, but grabbing on a little bit. I'm We was just Like I said, as far as I understand, we was just horseplaying, man. I don't need the problems, I don't need the drama. The man was ultimately charged with The man was arrested and faced a series of serious charges including assault, public indecency, robbery, vehicle theft, parole violations, and several other offenses. Excuses and denial may seem like a way out in the moment, but actions always speak loud. What do you think about cases like this? Share your thoughts in the comments, and don't forget to like and subscribe so you won't miss the next video. Next came a woman who was not a shoplifter, yet she was just as bad. I'm calling the police on I am police. >> No, you're not. You're not the I want to go to jail. Bring me to jail right now. I want to talk to a magistrate. Well, that's it. On the 6th of June, 2022, officers received a call from a Kroger store regarding the presence of a woman who had caused a disturbance on the premises. Upon arrival, the woman displayed clear and deliberate non-compliance with law enforcement. How you doing, ma'am? Yes. All right. So, stop Stop with the smart So, they're asking me to ask you to leave. And do you have any grounds for that that's not legal? So, they are banning you from the store, so you are going to leave. Well, can you explain a legal reason why? So, No, you didn't I don't want a legal reason, please. I don't have to explain anything to you, so put your stuff back. >> legal. Get away from This way. Get away from I'm calling the police, officer. I am the police. >> No, you're not. You're not So, you're going to stop right here. What is your name? I don't give I don't give strangers my name. Stop. Is there another police? Can I see >> your name? Can I please talk to another police? Wait a minute. What have I done that you think is wrong? Okay. Let me explain to you. Have I stolen? Have I hit anybody? Have I done anything wrong? What? Okay, you're going to let me talk and explain? I'm waiting. All right, don't interrupt me again. Go. You don't give me any type of orders, okay? So, don't inter- interrupt me when I'm talking. You're right. Yes. The woman clearly portrayed herself as a powerful woman who had done nothing wrong, and it seemed to grow even more intense when the police stated the reason they had come. So, the call that we got was you were in here causing a disturbance, No. cursing people out, >> curse anyone. and stuff like that. I never said a curse word. Can you put that on the video so I can see it? I don't know. You're going to You're going to You're going to have to ask them. >> concrete evidence, and I'd like to talk to my lawyer, please. What is your name, ma'am? That's not I haven't done anything wrong, and you don't need to give anyone any buddy your name cuz that's what called the Privacy Act. The Privacy Act under the federal law >> That's That's called obstruction. >> Act. The Privacy is if you have not committed a crime, you don't need to give any officer you are the same level as me if I haven't committed a crime. You cannot use brute force on somebody who has not committed a crime. I have not cursed. Can I see it on video? Can I please see some concrete evidence? Excuse me, but what crime have I committed to warrant you guys um coming in here like a army to shoot me or something? I'd like to know in legal language what crime I have committed. Disorderly conduct. All right, what is disorderly conduct? Please define it, and I'd like to see it on video the disorderly conduct so you have proof. It's their word over mine. They are citizens, I am a citizen, so we are equal. So, I need a video camera to see what I have done. I want concrete evidence on the video camera to see what I have done. You're choosing their their words over my words, so I need it on a video camera to look at. Can I see it on video? So, what we got is a supervisor coming here. You can speak to the supervisor when they get here. >> the supervisor? He's on his way here now. >> Is he a police? Yes, he is. Okay, well, all I'm asking is in concrete language tell me the legal thing I have done wrong. She acted as though she fully understood the law by reciting every agency she knew, and she even went further by listing the rights she claimed to understand. You're a causing a disturbance in the store. >> I'm going to get my lawyer. What's your name, please? My name is Officer Carter. >> Okay, Carter, and what is your name? Can I have your cards? Zinnerman, I'll remember that. >> you banned from the store. >> Right, and I'm going to talk to my lawyer and get you fired. Okay, that's Don't touch me. You I didn't break any law. I have a right to defend myself under the Constitution, freedom of speech, Privacy Act. If I have not broken the law, you are equal to me. The only time a police can apprehend you is if you've broken the law. >> you coming. And if you don't have a video >> Let's you don't have a video prove to me that I broke a law, you are breaking the law because you are obstructing the Constitution of the United States of America. Guess what you're doing. And many police have lost their badges that way. Mr. Carter, many have lost their badges. Meanwhile, another officer attempted to gather statements from the staff and they claimed this was not the first time she had caused an incident like this. She came in and stood right here and I was walking towards her. Oh, I don't want to happen me cuz you look like you got HBO with that. You got that mask on. Then she turned around and told another customer, "No, uh-uh." And that's not the first time she done did that in here. Tell me everybody that wear a mask hates You plus a customer and it's been it's done happened before. I think So, you're not providing your name? I haven't First of all, you've got to provide me with the thing I've done wrong in legal terms. I told you disorderly All right, disorderly conduct. I need to see the video of that disorderly conduct. >> Ma'am, I told you so. You know what you've done. You're accusing me of cursing. So, can I please see it to see if I've cursed? Because you're taking her word over mine, which is illegal because we are equal. We're both citizens. Okay, here's the thing. They want you banned from the store, ma'am. Who's they? Can I have the name of the The management. >> Oh, can I have his name, please? >> You're going to You're going to get the name. Yes. >> to get a form. I want the name of the manager who's banning me so I can take it to my attorney. You will get that. You will get a letter from my attorney, sir. >> The woman demanded other people's names while refusing to provide her own and then she escalated the situation by playing the race card. And that's called discrimination against white people. You are a racist. You are discriminating against a white person. How dare you? Okay. How dare you? >> How about you provide your ID, ma'am? No, I will not. I will give it to him. I don't want to talk to you. You are racist. you're >> So, you're being racist by not No, I am not. A racist is somebody that kicks somebody out of a store for no reason for just being white. I I will talk to my lawyer about this. So, you you're causing a disturbance right now. Because you are not letting me walk. That's not a disturbance. That's called self-defense. You can't go badgering people around that haven't broken a law. Give me the law I've broken in in concrete language. Let me understand Let me understand something. I want to talk to him. Excuse me. I have to talk to him. There's two people I'd rather talk to you. >> Cuz he was the first one here. I relate better to people of my own race. I relate better. They always hit me, push me, throw garbage in my yard, push me around, cheat me, lie to me, steal my money when I do stuff. I want to talk to someone that I relate to. Can I talk to you? I can relate better to you because he's telling me that he's not going to give me a legal explanation for why he's bullying me, asking for my ID under the Privacy Act, a police officer cannot ask for ID unless the person has committed a crime. I have not committed a crime. It's between me and the manager, so you need to give me the name of the manager here so my attorney can talk to them. Ma'am, again And I need the camera. I need concrete evidence on the camera showing what I have done wrong so they can my attorney can size it up and see whether or not that is a reason for the manager to kick me out because this grocery store also has to follow business law. They cannot arbitrarily kick people out for random reasons because they don't like the person's shoes, they don't like the person's outfit. You can't go doing that to people. It seemed that amid the woman's blatant discriminatory remarks, a white officer promptly stepped in, yet the situation showed no sign of changing. Focus on me. I'm Sergeant Mustafa I'm here. Wait, can I have your name, please, in writing? Sure. Your name? Yeah, I'll give you I'll give you that later. But you're going to to to me right now. Okay? >> That's just that's not polite language. That's fine. You're not being polite to these officers. So, here's the deal. Under Georgia law, when they ask for your name, you're supposed to provide it, or you could be arrested. >> No, my boyfriend works for the CIA and he tells you go to jail. I want to go to jail. Bring me to jail right now. I want to talk to a magistrate. >> Well, that's it. Do not resist arrest. Thank you, ma'am. I want to talk to a magistrate. You do not have to freaking give your name to somebody when you have not committed a crime. That is called the Privacy Act of the United States of America, and you are breaking the Constitution. You don't give your name when you don't break a law. It's For all I know, you're going to rob my house. I don't know who you are. Thank you, ma'am. I do not know who these men are. These are mafia. These are thugs. I have not broken any law. I have not done anything to anybody, and these guys are arresting me cuz I'm white, and they are the mafia. Throughout her loud and chaotic walk, she embodied exactly the kind of disturbance described in the report, and the noise only intensified once she was inside the patrol car, where she continued to deny any wrongdoing. He's got to seatbelt you in as long as you're in a car. Okay, that's our policy. You got to sit Yeah, well, I don't really care, cuz why would I listen to a thug in a uniform? I haven't broken any law. You cannot ARREST SOMEBODY FOR NOT BREAKING A LAW. CAN I FILE A discrimination report against British by Irish? Irish people discriminate. Black and white Irish mafia discriminate against black and British. I'm British. I'm 100% British. So, I would like to file a thing against Irish people discriminating and spitting on me. I would like to fill out a discrimination against white people. Yeah, do you have one of those discrimination race racism against white That's That's a illegal thing, not a a That's like a civil, not a criminal. Well, where is the form? You have to get it from the They have them in DC. Why don't they You them here? You have to get them from the courthouse. You want to know why I got kicked out of Harpers by a blade? I said the price of the egg salad sandwich is preposterous. What happened? Why did it go up a dollar? She was ultimately charged with disorderly conduct and providing a false name to law enforcement officers. And she was permanently banned from the store. Refusing to cooperate, escalating conflict, and providing false information only turn a simple removal into criminal charges. Respecting the law and handling disputes calmly can prevent a situation from spiraling out of control. Next, meet this man, a true mama's boy. I just paid for I saw you switch ticket switching with the ticket, the sticker in your hand, and scanning the meat. The meat? I don't like thieves and I don't like liars. And that's good. Like you purposely took it and put it in the bag without scanning. No, I I went I I when I went when I scanned it when I when I scanned it it didn't come up, okay? Okay. But Give me 1 second. Take our IDs for it. Because right now you're being investigated for a crime, do you understand? >> But I'm trying to tell >> detained for the investigation. So what I'm telling the man what it is. The man denied everything in a suspicious way through his nervous fumbling, and at that moment the employee told the story explaining his scheme. As seen here, I almost stopped the wrong couple. They came out so quick that I That's why I had to come out to the parking lot. Basically, he was putting sticker under his hand of of uh baking soda. You'll see multiple baking sodas on there. And each one of those baking sodas is when he scanned meats worth 20, 30, 40 dollars each one. Like a >> So he had a fake ticket right here and just kind of you take the meat Is it paper, could you tell, or you don't know? >> Yeah, he's probably hitting it by now. And it's common sense. Like you will not find that much baking soda as as it claimed so in that cart. All right. 1 2 3 4 All right. I think that's the gentleman I almost stopped. Probably I'm telling the man what it is, okay? Okay. But I when I scanned it when I scanned it the the meat it didn't come up. So it's So Listen, we're on camera. You can say what you want to say. I have a I What I'm saying is I'm not trying to fight it. What I'm saying is take the meat, you know what I'm saying? I understand. This is not how this works. There's a misunderstanding. It's not a misunderstanding. You pressing charges for the meat? Set your stuff right there. What? Set those right there in the cart. Set those in the cart. Turn around. Put your hands behind your back, palms together. Why? Turn around. >> Turn over. Yes, you're under arrest. My money is in the bank card. So, if you were this man's mother, what would you do? At that point, the situation had been explained to her, and she could have been implicated in the case as well. >> Technically, you did steal. You did not pay for flowers. You know you didn't pay for flowers. You put them in the cart and then then they got loaded in here. Well, I had They were not paid for. Is that stealing or not stealing? >> Well, I had I said, "Here, scan this so I can put it in the basket." It wasn't done, okay? Neither was the comforter, neither was the pet, whatever that is for pets. I never went over there. Uh, I'm just telling you. So, I know there's two sides to every story and I just want you guys to come to me, too. I'm just telling you. I am telling you, if it comes up somehow that you're involved in a theft, then you will be charged, okay? That's all I'm saying. He's going to county jail regardless cuz he has a warrant and he stole here today, okay? Any questions for me? No, I'm just a little upset because you wouldn't hear me. I have to deal with him first. He wasn't looking like he was wanting to go along with the program at first, okay? So, I got to worry about him. tough and I respect you guys with all my heart. >> But, when I have two people and I'm the only one here for a minute, then I I can only deal with one at a time, right? >> that. I just wanted you to hear me, that's all. I I understand everything you're saying. And and and I'm going to review things and if it shows you didn't steal, then you're not going to be listed as a suspect, just that you were here with him and you drove. I'll bring it right back out. Does that sound okay? All right. Any questions before I go and do that? Okay. All right. All right. Flowers included. And this is his, I presume, right? Okay. All right. Well, I I mean, it wouldn't be the first time I've seen family members steal together. And like I said, I have to go on what they're telling me until I prove otherwise, okay? I hate thieves and I don't like liars. The man was charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Desperation for a few saved dollars led him to risk everything, his freedom, his dignity, and even his own mother's reputation. One dishonest shortcut exposed a larger pattern of irresponsibility. Next, the familiar customer who believed he would be forgiven once again. Hold on. Hey, what? Come here. I didn't say leave yet. Okay? I mean, thousands of dollars I stole in here on a daily basis. Hey, I We only do what they tell us to do. On December 16th, 2024, police received a report of a theft that had occurred at a retail store. And upon receiving the information, officers immediately approached store employees to gather details about the incident. Hello. Hi. What's going on today? So, I am actually calling to report a series of thefts that were discovered based off of the credit card investigation. So, let me let me pull it up. I wasn't sure when So, I have uh eight cases here that should be under one case number. And it consists of a guy who goes to self-checkout. And he will fail to scan items, um but items like doors and wainscoting and other things along that same line. Would you like me to break down each instance or When did they start? So, >> When did he start doing this? What date was it? So, it's it's it's way it's been months. Uh I just got here and I started looking at it. So, we're only going to do from 11 1 to capture a month period, which would make it uh charge then the each instance per broken down. Uh so, on the first um he uh found to scan a bifold door, a tarp, and a door uh door sills. Show you some photos. So, this is the individual in question. He's a contractor. He's actually been shopping at this store for years. The suspect was suspected to be a regular customer of the store, and because of that, he was already being closely watched by employees. So, a cashier actually noticed that this guy had a cart full of lumber, and he had only scanned a couple pieces. And, you know, that happens sometimes, but I took that, you know, I was like, "Well, that's really odd. I feel like that would would have been occurring more frequently." Mhm. So, I I ran the credit card that he had used to purchase at the end when she had corrected him and scanned all the items for him. I ran that credit card in the Lowe's system to find all the other purchases that had taken place for the last few months, and I only focused on the month within the 30 days to look at all the other transactions in which uh similar occurrences had happened. He comes in here like every other day. Um on the most recent occurrence in which he did do this, I actually saw him in person, but I it was only at the tail end. I saw him exit the building. And I uh wasn't So, what's the most What's most recent? It is So, we all uh Do we need anything else in here? I mean, he looks very familiar, actually. He's super friendly to everyone. >> he is. Which is how he gets away with it. >> The con. That's exactly what that is. And I guarantee you, do you have counterparts with uh um Target? Target and Home Depot? No, I haven't made contact with Home Depot yet. >> I would check that. Cuz I guarantee you a lot of your customers >> This is my first uh first month of the year, actually. I transferred from a bunch of other locations, and I'm After escaping consequences many times, he still believed there would be more chances ahead, but this time the police likely brought everything to an end. Well, I'm not concerned about that. So, I need to see your ID. Mr. Randolph, how tall are you? How tall are you? >> 5 ft 11 And how much do you weigh? 204 Okay. Okay, I'm just going to hold on to that. What place is It's a 51. Okay. Uh one issue with trespass? I think we got to go down here and talk to David about this. >> No, you're not. She's in charge. She makes the decision. You're being issued a trespass warning from right now. >> Yeah, okay. If you come back on the property for a period of 1 year, you'll be arrested. So, what is this trespass warning? I'm here buying stuff through my phone account and business every day. I'm going to issue you just telling you this is trespass warning. You're just going to be trespassed right now for a year. So, we just don't want you to come back on the property. Whether that's to purchase anything or not. Okay, I'm going to go back in and pay for my items. Okay, no you're not. You're You're fixing to put your stuff down and you're going to be escorted out of the store. If you come back on the store for a period of 1 year, you'll be arrested. Okay, I'm going to Immediately after being accused by police, the man rushed to leave as if fearful of something, forcing officers to stop him. Hey, what? Come here. I didn't say leave yet. Okay? Don't make this more difficult than it needs to be. Currently right now, what's happening is you're just going to be issued a trespass warning. As I said, I'm not finished with you. I'm waiting some for more information to come through. Once that information comes through and I make sure that you're free to go, you're free to go. Until then, you're being detained by me. Do you understand? Mhm. So, don't make this something it doesn't need to be. More likely, you'll be able to walk out of here in a minute. Until then, relax. We need two doctors. The proctor and the store manager said What did they tell you? They said they're talking to somebody right now. Trying to figure this out now. Okay. I mean, thousands of dollars I spend in here on a daily basis. Hey, I We only do what they tell us to do. They don't want you in here. They want to issue I got to do what they ask. Because I'm in here It's four of us work together. We spend thousands of dollars in here in a week. Just minutes later, police received the store's decision, making it clear that this would not be an easy departure. All right, so I'm going to take your email and phone number and your address. You're being placed under arrest right now for grand theft. Okay, what did I steal? Uh there's a couple different incidents in the last couple months where you've gone to scan things out in the store and you don't pay for everything you take over the airways. I'm going to bring you up to the register as comfortable as I can, okay? Okay. Um if you like, we'll go to an office here real quick and talk about it. I'll show you all the pictures and everything. Um the loss prevention officers here have done their due diligence and research. >> that for my nature. Complete surveillance video and everything. We were at the register with a copy of each receipt for each time you've scanned something at the register and compared to what's on the cart you push out the store and what you scan and pay for Turn your head. are two different things. So, Stop. I'm going to make you as comfortable as I can for you, okay? Mhm. Do you have a car here? Yeah. Where's it at? Outside by the truck. It's outside by the Here by the subway. Yep. Uh Can I have someone go and pick it up? Yep. Do you want us to take all your personal property and put it in your truck and lock it up? >> Yeah. What do you You're okay with that? Yeah. Open up the truck. Finally, the man was charged with grand theft. Familiarity and repeated success can breed overconfidence. >> Walk with you, yeah. No, you're not. Yeah, you're you're not free to leave right now, okay? All right. I just stole the stuff for Christmas and now I'm going to jail for what I did this Christmas. On December 23rd, 2024, officers approached a woman suspected of shoplifting at a store. What seemed like an ordinary case quickly unraveled into a web of concealment. Watch what happened next. >> What's going on? Sorry, are you looking for me? No. Oh. We uh Is that your van? Huh? Is the minivan yours? No. No? Okay. Do you have your ID on you? For what, sir? So, we just had a retail theft and uh you matched the description. They said uh female black with a black puffy coat. Okay, that could be anybody, sir. I'll go I know. So, here, let me just talk to you. Ma'am, let me just talk to you. >> No, you don't know what you're talking about. Like I said, I'm we're investigating a crime. Okay, what does that have to do with me, sir? We're trying to figure that out. Is that your car or no? >> It's not. It's not? What What car is yours? It doesn't matter. I don't know what You're not going to Okay, you know what? I know my rights, so Okay. Sign into a 21. I got a subject over here who refuses to talk to me, matches the description. Female black black puffy coat. >> I'm going to go to my job. You're not going to follow me to my job. I'm going to walk with you, yeah. No, you're not. Yeah, you're you're not free to leave right now, okay? No, you're not. Ma'am, you're not free to leave right now, okay? Okay, what What do you want? Like I said, can you just get Can I just get your ID? And can you tell me which car is yours? If this is a abandoned or not. >> I got dropped off. By who? By Uber. Okay. >> Just cuz you know the car goes fast, that was my Uber. Okay, can you show me that you got dropped off by an Uber? I can't show you that. Why not? How am I going to show you that? Do you have it on your phone? No, I told you I got an Uber here. My car is broke down. I got an Uber here. Now, this is ridiculous. Like I said, we're just trying to figure this all out. Enough to say. What do you want from me, sir? I'm trying to get to my job. >> what's your job? Uh I work here. I work for a client. I have to see my client at 4:00. I work for Healthcare Plus. She acted entitled and irritated by every accusation from the officers, trying to walk away and dodging their questions, which only deepened the suspicion, especially when information about her began to surface. This is me, Linda. Linda is the one that the car comes back to, correct? No. Yeah. I believe that Sign into a 321. >> Sign into a 321. Who does that belong to? You've been arrested before? No. No? Okay. Uh let me text somebody. I know I just got here, so I don't know what this other officer told you. This is a pretty easy process, okay? You either tell us the truth and we can try to take it a little easier on you. That's kind of odd, right? >> do hard as we need to. Okay. Okay? I'm going to hold on to this. >> So, you can start being honest and tell us what actually happened and we can just do our jobs, or you can make this more difficult and in turn we can make things more difficult. The van comes back to Linda. That's what you're saying your name is. >> That's my name. That's my van. Okay. Okay. So, that van was involved in a retail theft at the Jewel at 103rd and Pulaski. About 10 minutes ago. 10 minutes ago. I pulled up, the van's right there, you're walking this way. You can either come clean with us, be honest about what happened, or we can go a different route. >> I got me some lunch from there. You got lunch? What else did you take? Pizzas, I got pizzas for my um my son. Did you pay for them? No, I did not. Okay. So, you owe the store that much? Yeah. Where are they? They're right there. Where are your keys? Even after her lies were exposed, she showed not the slightest hint of shame. Instead, she quickly came up with yet another excuse while officers searched her car. I didn't get the pizzas. I did my phone didn't go through. That's that's what right there. I was just This is my Luna pants, the pizzas and some stuff you're sitting on the counter. I walked out the store. I didn't even get it. I can show you on my phone Yeah, I can show you on my phone that it didn't go through. What didn't go through? The the the stuff you're talking about, the pizzas and stuff I was trying to get. You just said you took something you didn't pay for them. It was this I said I got then I got the pizzas I forgot it didn't go through. I was going to take it out the store. You didn't go through cuz I seen them watching me and I walked out the store downstairs. Yes, the declined charge from the Jewel. Yeah, that was the pizzas and stuff. >> saying you were going to steal them and you didn't Pizzas and stuff. Yeah, I put them in the bag. I left them there. So, what did you pay for? I didn't pay for anything. So, you didn't pay for That's all you took? Right. And you didn't pay for that? No. Okay, but everything else you left there? Yes. And it I just did decline but I seen them watching me. I was going to take it in my bag. I left the bag there. It was all these bags with the pizzas and stuff in there and some Luna pants. >> Okay. What about these Aldi bags? Where did all that come from? That came from the other store before I got here. Before I even got here. All right. When the other officer gets here, we'll talk to him about what's missing and what's not. Where did you leave that of other stuff? >> In the um the uh self-checkout. Okay. It was the It was Aldi bag with the pizzas. I think I would have some uh chicken breasts. Yeah, I didn't get that bag. Okay. >> got this on the counter. She laid out her own wrongdoing with an attitude as if it were some kind of achievement, but in reality, it was still a lie because moments later, officers uncovered the rest of the stolen items. In the video, the two Aldi bags and a blue bag in case some stuff. So, they were $195. Okay. I'm going to write that up. All right. Why did you lie to us? All that other stuff was from Jewel, too. We watched the video. But you didn't say pizza or this stuff. No, what about the pop in the other bag? Can you take your bag off? I'm going to take it, too. Put your hands behind your back. Tell me this connection of your lies. I don't have nothing, sir. I just stole this stuff for Christmas and now I'm going to jail for what I did this Christmas. I'm going to let you sit in here. Just real quick. You're fine. You can sit right there. I'm going to leave the door cracked. And I'll be back. Like I said. >> happen to my car, though? I can't don't stay here. I can have my daughter come pick my car up. Your car's going to get towed. For what? Cuz you used the car in the commission of the crime. >> Oh my god. In the end, the woman was charged with retail theft. A lie might buy a few minutes, but it always costs more in the end when the evidence is already there, fall harder.
