the car. >> Please don't touch me. Please don't touch me. Please don't choice me. Please do not touch me. >> I know my right, sir. [music] >> Hold on. No, I'm not turning around now. >> Theft is a crime, not a privilege. Yet, some thieves don't realize it. Once the police arrive, that illusion collapses, and the outcome is never what they hoped for. >> You're obstructing. >> THANK YOU, JUSTICE. All right. My mom is on the phone. >> I don't care. I got this. Turn around. >> My cousin was trying to detain me and I didn't do anything. >> Don't forget to like and subscribe to keep us motivated to bring you more content. Here are the moments from when shoplifterss act entitled until cops step in. Let's start with this pair arguing over each other's crime and acting like the cops weren't there. >> But you're on probation. >> They're not going to release me. it. I don't know. I'm not sure how much you >> I like how every cop wants to be rude to me when I'm being blat. And then they let the person that did the most. >> On July 25th, 2025, police received a report of a theft at a Kohl's store. The suspects, a man and a woman, had allegedly fled after committing the crime. When officers arrived at the scene, they found two individuals matching the description in the parking lot. Let's see what happened next. All right. >> Can you step out? >> Hey, my man. I saw you. Can you come back here? Yeah. Come back here. Hi. You know why? We might be here. >> No. >> Okay. >> Um, you're on camera taking stuff. Okay. >> Um, I think I >> That's fine. Uh, I didn't say anything's going on right now. Can you go talk to my partner over here for one second? >> Over here. Hey, >> what's up, man? You good? Can you step out? >> Were you just in cold, man? >> Be straight up with me. >> I'm not going to lie. What happened? >> I didn't take nothing. I didn't want nothing. >> Okay. >> So, I was looking for my friend. She >> Who's your friend? >> All right. >> I didn't take nothing though. I >> The man denied any wrongdoing. Even though the officers hadn't accused him yet, he obviously knew why they were there. The woman responded the same way, offering a denial of her own. Okay. Do you know why we might be trying to talk to you? >> No. >> Okay. Please don't try to play dumb. >> They'll call for everything. Okay. Do you know why we might be going to call then? >> No. >> Okay. Were you trying to take stuff from Kohl's? >> No. I didn't have a wallet. That's why. So, I only had cash and I only had $6. >> So, what what do you mean by that? I just put gloves on when I talk to people. Don't worry about what I'm doing right now. Okay. So, what do you mean you only had $6? >> Cuz I was going to buy me something, but I didn't have no money. >> So, did you put it back? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Where would it be in the store? be by the by the charging station. >> Okay. Do you have your driver's license on you? If not, I'll just take your name now. Okay. >> You got anything illegal in the car? >> No, not that I know. >> Do you have a license or no? >> Yeah, I have a license. >> You got nothing illegal in the car? >> No. No. >> So, you're saying you don't have anything on you? You guys didn't take anything out? >> Okay. >> Were you putting stuff in anything? >> No. >> No. You didn't grab anything off uh counters or any clothes or anything? At this point, even after their denials, both of them kept giving statements that raised even more suspicion. The woman tried to sound confident, but her words came out uneven. >> I got maybe like two things. >> Sorry about that. I need to >> She took you think. >> Um, not that I'm aware of. It's cuz like we're kind of separate, so I don't know. >> She has walked in together, then decided to walk out separate. >> No, no, no. We like she had walked in first. Um, I had You could see like I had pee right there and she used the bathroom and then I walked in half. You know what I'm saying? >> Okay. So, where would the merchandise be? >> It's in the car. It's all the way by the clothes and stuff. I didn't steal anything. >> Okay. Okay. So, there's nothing in the car. What did you take from inside? >> Nothing. I put it back. I only had cash. I only had $6. >> So, there's nothing in that car that was from Kohl's. >> Cuz we're going to check. Just let you know. >> It's not my car. So, you could search the car. >> Okay. There's nothing in that car from Kohl's. You can look at each other all you want. We're going to figure it out. And we see we have the cameras. So, I I rather have you be honest with me so I can make this process easier and we can get this over with. All right? So, you got to do what you got to do. But what but once we do find out, then we're going to make sure that I'm going to take this investigation to the fullest of it extent. >> It's all good. >> Huh? >> No. >> No, >> it's all good. >> No. I You want to look at each other? It's fine. We're going to figure I'll figure it out for myself. I don't want >> I'm asking you. >> I don't I didn't walk out with nothing. Whatever. It's in the car. Okay, that's fine. >> Mom's gonna >> That's fine. That's fine. I'm just gonna I'm gonna go go ahead with the I'm going to go talk to Cole's. >> I'm going to watch the video again cuz I already saw >> She confidently allowed officers to search her luggage, but the truth began spilling out from the back seat. Let's see how the suspects reacted to that. >> How do we pronounce your first name? >> Nilros. Okay, so remember when I said they have amazing cameras? Okay, you're on camera leaving with the bag. Okay. Is that the bag in the passenger seat over there? In the back seat. >> Be honest with him like you just told me. >> I'm going to grab that. Okay. >> No, I didn't say you. I'm going to grab it. Okay. I don't think this happened. And um I >> Is there anything else in the car that we're going to see? >> No, but not that I'm aware of. You said what? >> Okay. >> I'm I know, but I have a son. I didn't want that. >> Then that's another [ __ ] thing. >> I know, but I'm not I'm not the wrong one. I didn't even I have my son my son's birthday's in two months. I have my sister's anniversary next month. >> You just repeat the >> So, what happens if I'm on probation in a different county? >> Probation. >> That's again, that's two probation. That's two violations. That's dead. They're not going to keep letting me out. >> It depends what the amount is. So, I'm on parole, friend. I literally get off in September. I'm on papers. I I'm not too late to join. I'm not going to see my son. >> The moment those bags were pulled out was the moment these suspects grew worried together about their fate. Like even the officers were fading from their sight. >> But you're on probation. >> They're not going to release it. >> I don't know. I'm not sure how much you told. It was a lot. It was a bad >> So what usually happens if you're on probation and they >> Everybody has a different case. >> I was just going to say they're going to stay probation. sit 2 years. Mark, this is secondary. That means I got to sit 2 years after. >> It doesn't matter what you guys who wants to take charge of who does it. We're going to watch the cameras. Both of you guys did it. Both of you guys come in. One of you guys did it. One of you guys comes in. It don't matter which you I mean, whatever you all discussing right now, it don't really matter. We're going to see. >> I was with her, but I didn't I wasn't like her up. >> We're going to watch the cameras and then we're going to see what happens. My mom said hi Jay going. >> Thank you. One more. >> Yeah. I got to think about this like before coming over here and doing it. Especially over here like this probably the worst spot to come around and do something. >> It's cuz we didn't like Can I talk to you again one more time over here? >> So everything became clear and the officers made their decisions for the suspects. From that moment, the woman started showing how mad she was about what had happened. Hey. Okay. This what we're going to do. Give me a phone and let's put your hands behind your back. Okay. No, cuz you're technically in custody. So, I'm hanging it up once we're done with it. >> How am I in custody? >> Cuz you're going to jail. You're under arrest. >> How am I? >> And at this point, I'm not going to tell a lie when I'm I'm 2 years 2 years signed my life to probation. And you're telling me I just I'm going to catch another case and you're getting off in 3 months. You're getting off parole. You could sit in a joint. You could do a program for a month and you'll get out. compared to me. I got to sit faithfully two years down there not doing and nobody helps your mom with your brother. Everything comes on me. I do everything to support help and do everything. That's why I'm [clears throat] sitting here looking at him. I'm not taking no blame for nothing cuz you were on camera, too. Not doing this back and forth. He I like how every cop wants to be rude to me when I'm being blat. And then they let the person that did the most of the work just have his phone. no can cuz like you're against women just say that. >> I don't think that's what it is. >> I feel like it is. I really do because it's a lot of men officers that done that to me and it's always the other person that gets more freedom and everything. He had his phone most of the time. Most of the time I even did I had my phone. I talked to the person that own the car. He snatched my phone, put on the phone say you're getting you're detained. That don't make no sense how if I'm detained he's detained cuz at the end of the day he walked away from me. I stood and just >> Gotcha. I understand too. >> The man didn't escape the same fate at this point. Whatever he tried to earn sympathy wouldn't change anything. Um I had lost half of my siblings and that anniversaries next month. >> You know I is there any way like it's cuz I didn't want nothing. >> Right. But you're you're on video my man doing that stuff. Okay. Does that make sense? >> You have anything else on you that's going to post me or hurt me? Guns, drugs. >> I I was being honest with you. I had >> you you were honest with me after the handcapes came on and you said you took one thing and I I kind of meant like I grabbed it and like >> you want him to take the bag with you. >> Okay. One more time. >> I was being >> you Yeah, but do you remember when I originally started talking to you, you said no, you didn't do anything. You had no idea what I was talking about. >> I I wasn't kidding when I said they have good cameras, man. Okay. And then let me say one thing, right? But but when when I when we asked questions, I promise you nine times out of 10, we know the answer. Okay. It's not It's not to see if you're going to lie. It's just a serious partner. I told him I told you I had put just one time. I put some stuff in the back. I told you that it was just one time. Remember? >> That's literally all I did. >> I I got you, man. But you're still on video doing it. Okay. And when I asked you, you said no originally, and then right now is when you said I'm going to be honest. I did one. >> Both suspects were charged with retail theft. Crime always catches up. They thought a quick theft would stay unnoticed, but all it brought was arrest, charges, and a ruined future. Next, this fancy woman got so drunk and completely forgot she had STOLEN ANYTHING. [screaming] >> HELP! HELP! HELP! HELP! >> If you're intoxicated, you're intoxicated. >> I was >> Okay, well, now you're going to jail. >> On May 6th, 2025, employees at a Circle K dialed 911 after a furious woman grabbed items, refused to pay, and sped off into the night. Officers quickly tracked her down and the moment they reached her window, it seemed she had already shown a lack of respect. The >> reason you're pulling me over? >> Yeah, I'll explain it to you as soon as I see your >> No, I could. >> I actually know my right to >> I need to see your driver's license, please. >> I will be calling my father again. >> Okay. >> I give you my license. >> I need to see your license, please. >> It's okay. I'll be making sure I contact my father before I let you violate me. >> Okay. >> I know how this works. Hey, Dad. I'm being pulled over right here by the house because he's not explaining to me why he's pulling me over, but he said he can cuz he can like he wants to. Yeah, I don't think so. I told him I knew my rights and he said I didn't. So, >> okay. Well, listen. Are you my father? >> Okay. Well, right now you're you're obstructing. Okay. >> And I told you that I will tell you the reason why you were stopped. >> I sure did. I told you as soon as I see your driver's license, I will tell you why I stopped you. And then you started. >> Okay. I need to see it and I need you to hand it over to me, please. >> I'm showing him my I'm showing him my >> clearly with the excuses she made up and the way she behaved, she had no intention of making things easy. Instead, forcing officers to respond with a much firmer hand. Put the car in park and shut the car off. >> Thank you. He has my driver's license and his hand is leaning into my car. >> Okay. Step out of the car. >> Oh my god. >> Dad, >> put the car in park. >> Dad, he's ripping me out of my car. >> Step out of the car. Step out of the car. I'm not doing this with you. Step out of the car. >> Dad, my car is in park. He's ripping me out of my car. >> I'm I'm being detained. Yes, you are. >> For what reason? Please don't touch me. Please don't touch me. Please don't touch me. Please do not touch me. He's being I'm being ripped out of my >> What? What? Don't you understand? >> I'm being ripped out of my car. >> What don't you understand? Ripped out of my car. >> Because you're BEING DETAINED. >> BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT COOPERATING. >> WHY AM I BEING RIPPED OUT? >> Why don't you understand what's going on? >> Why am I being ripped out of my car? >> Cuz you're obstructing. I'm notice I'm being >> You're starting official business. Get out of the car. >> Get out of the car. >> Justice. I'm being ripped out of my car. Please call. >> You have to step out of the car. >> Please call Alexis. >> You have to step out of the car. >> My phone is being detained. >> You have to step out of the car. >> I don't have to step out. >> You are under arrest. >> You are under arrest for obstructing. Get out of the car. >> I'm under arrest. >> I just told you. >> Under arrest. >> Get out of the car or you're going to get tased. >> Why am I under arrest? Why am I under? >> Her own resistance dragged her straight into this mess. Yet, she acted like a victim, screaming for help while it was obvious she was the last person suffering any real harm. >> Why am >> I told you? >> You're obstructing. >> THANK YOU. JUSTICE. SOMEBODY CALL my sister. Call my dad. Call my mother. Call my father. >> GET BACK MY WALLET. >> Somebody please help me. Help me. Help. [screaming] Help. Help. Help. Help. Help. Help. [screaming] GET IN YOUR CAR NOW. GET IN YOUR CAR. NOW, HELP. [screaming] HELP. HELP! HELP! HELP! [screaming] HELP! HELP! HELP! [screaming] HELP! HELP! >> WHEN THE woman was taken into custody, the officers clearly explained the situation to her, and everything was fully confirmed by the store employees through another group of officers. >> Okay. Well, I'll tell you now why I pulled you over. Okay. I pulled you over cuz we got a call from the Circle K that you shoplifted from the Circle K. Okay. And they and whatever it was that you stole, you apparently threw out the window. Okay. Okay. Well, my friend >> Well, you said you don't want to talk to me. Okay. So, I'm telling you 8:21 right here. I'll be out of circle. Okay. What's up? >> What's the gist? What happened? >> She All right. Literally, what do I have? He was talking to her friend. She got pissed off about it. Was holding up my selfch checkout. So I told her I was like, "Can you please move over check out?" I was being nice as as I could. >> She just kept going off with the bad and that. I know who she is from the bar >> over here. >> Yeah. And she just kept going off and she kept getting mad cuz he wasn't paying for her. Literally. >> You didn't want to pay for her stuff, >> but he paid for her friend. >> No, because lit literally or whatever, she was talking to a dude already on the phone as it is. >> Uhhuh. But that's when her friend was pretty much saying, "Oh, I'm going to pay for your stuff." Cuz me and other friend already had a like connection after this. So, I don't know what happened like or the other person, she got mad. I don't know. I wasn't even >> Did she take anything? >> Yeah, she took four things, but I think I got it on the camera for >> Okay, >> this is her walking out. It was a chocolatecovered pretzels, three guacamole, and I think two hot fries. >> Okay. >> But she threw two things in the parking lot. >> Did you grab those? Is there any cameras outside? >> Yeah, that was her. And then she came back >> and that was her friend there. >> On her side, the woman did not take the explanation lightly. Her attitude and behavior only convinced the officers that she was under the influence of alcohol. >> I said, "Why did you pull me over?" cuz I didn't travel. >> Okay. How much have you had to drink tonight? >> I had a shot from the bar next to the school and I went over there to get a water and a snack. >> Mhm. And you took those without paying for them? >> My friend paid for the snack. >> After you took them, >> she paid for them. I thought I was going back to my car because they were being paid for it. >> Okay. Well, right now you are >> right now you're under arrest for obstruction for resisting arrest. >> Okay. >> All right. And then I'm going to take you back to the station and run you through field sobriety test because I believe that you're intoxicated [crying] >> because this isn't normal behavior. This is the behavior of somebody that is intoxicated. >> Because I live right. I don't care where you live. >> I don't care if your house was right there. >> My house is >> If you're intoxicated, you're intoxicated. >> Okay. Well, now you're going to jail. Do you have any other questions? Okay. >> I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. I see it. In the end, she was charged with theft, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, and DUI. Her case proved a simple lesson. Lying, resisting, and acting out never changed the truth. It only added more charges and destroyed her freedom. Next, this woman valued her job so much that she resorted to stealing. >> I'm a single mom. I'm just trying to get I just started and I'm just trying to make a good impression. >> Okay. >> And so that's why I'm saying I'll never come back again. >> Oh, no. I got >> On September 16th, 2021, police were dispatched to Home Depot after a report of a theft at the store. Upon being approached, the female suspect immediately defended herself, but did not provide any evidence. >> All right. >> I paid for it all. >> I'll never come back. >> Oh, that's not what I'm worried about. If you paid for it all, where's the receipt? >> He has it. >> He has it? >> Yes. >> Let's walk in there and find out. >> Okay. I don't I'm going to be late for work. >> Uh, well, no, we're beyond that right now. All right. You're just going to have to be late, unfortunately. But we got called. We're going to investigate something. You will get a report if you need to go back to work as an excuse for whatever it is at work. But right now, we are investigating the possibility of a crime. So, >> I just don't want to go. >> We're going to figure everything out right now. Okay. You're just going to have to say sight. >> Can I just sign something down? >> New Like I said, we're we're This isn't a bargaining deal. Like, we're in the middle of an investigation. Okay. So, lost suspension inside. Apparently, he has a receipt. I haven't identified her yet. Okay. >> You have a driver's license on you by chance, ma'am. >> I promise I'll never come back again. >> And that's all well and good, but like I said, we got our process to follow right now. >> Can you just ask them that or never come back again? >> We'll figure that out. What she insisted on was that she would never return to the store, which is also what the store required if she had indeed committed a crime. However, when the police questioned her about the matter, she responded in a very roundabout. >> So, what's going on today? Tell me everything. >> I'm a single mom. I'm just trying to get I just started trying to get >> Okay. >> So, that's why I'm saying I'll never come back again. >> Oh, no. I got you. So, >> when um When you came into the store today, what did you come in the store for? >> You had the paint brushes. >> Paint brushes and grease, which I and the wipes. What do they wipe the Mr. Clean wipes? >> Okay. What card did you pay off of? Did you use a card or cash? >> Card. >> Card. You have the card with you? >> Yes. >> Okay. Are you able to pull up the bank statement saying that you paid for that stuff right now? >> Yeah. He's got the receipt. >> I know. And I'm having that officer go and get it, but I'm trying to >> I'm trying to find out what exactly you used. And your bank will reflect that you paid. How much did you pay? >> It was like $35. >> 35 for paint brushes. >> Yeah. >> Grease Lightning. And it was right there. >> That's everything she didn't pay for. >> What? What? Let me see the receipt that she did. >> Yeah, I'll get >> it. It's just stupid. >> Tell me about this Ryobi 8 volt drill, a handheld sprayer, quick change cleaning kit, cabinet cleaner. >> Oh, that with the brush. I think brush thing. Okay. >> Although she didn't formally admit it, the receipt and her lack of denial spoke for her. Everything was further confirmed by the store employees. What >> we got? It's a female. >> Wait. Yeah, we have we have her outside right now. >> She's a known shop. So, she's known to come in here and um pick up a whole bunch of merchandise and then she picks up shopping boxes, the moving boxes. And then she would actually hide the merchandise in between the boxes and then go to self check out and only scan like two of the boxes and small items and then walk out on her own power tools. >> Today when we saw her on the floor, >> it is what it is at this point. We can't change the past, but we're here. We got to figure it out. You may be telling me the truth for all I know, but I can't take you at your word at the moment. >> No, I I >> I know. But again, I can't let you go. We're there's nothing up for debate right now. I can't tell you that we're going to sign anything. I can't tell you what we're going to do until that officer gets back to me with what he saw and what they said. >> The woman thought she might be able to plead her way out. But it wasn't that simple with that amount. And suspicion still lingered in her bag. >> Detained. Okay. You're not under arrest yet, but you are detained pending this investigation. And because you are detained, you are not free to leave. Okay. I'm just being completely upfront with you. That's exactly how it is right now. There's people here that are alleging that you sold $490 worth of items. That's why I have an officer in there looking at video camera footage. And that's why I'm asking you what we're going to see. >> We have $49 of the drill. I guess for the drill >> tools are expensive. Like one drill could be 150 bucks. Tools are very expensive. >> I didn't realize that. >> You may not have realized it, but that's essentially what we got. >> By chance, is there any other items that you have right now in that bag that doesn't belong to you? >> Could we look? >> Yeah. >> All I have is my cigarette. >> What about this? >> That's mine. That's mine. >> Do you have a receipt for it? >> Well, no. I have in my car. I actually have more paint in my car. I actually have more paint in my car. That's just I was getting for work. >> Why would it be in your purse? >> Cuz I was going to carry you in to work with them pay versions and everything. >> I promise you, if you look in my car, I have paint in my car. >> Now, she wanted to settle the payment even though she could have done it from the start. Surprisingly, the underlying reason for her misconduct was her genuine care for her work. So, all of those items are paid for. >> Yeah. >> But there was a list of other items besides the drills that worked. >> Yeah. The scotch. It just scotch things. So, I didn't want to have nothing. I was trying to do like I said, clean up the store and get things. I mean, I can pay for >> Okay. But why didn't you? cuz it like I said mom and I haven't got paid yet. I was trying to >> If you were buying the stuff for the purpose of maintaining your workplace. >> Yeah. >> Why didn't your workplace give you the money to buy it? >> Cuz I was I was trying to kind of show initiative, I guess. >> I got you. Okay. But but you you're telling me that you >> Okay. You're telling me that you purposely neglected to pay for those items? >> Well, no. I actually um I actually went to um pick one if you if you look at the boxes. I went and get and um I honestly wasn't trying to pay attention, but the um honestly the Scotch Guard I did know, which I can pay for. I'm being honest. >> Okay. This is the best job I've ever got. >> At this time, the police made their decision, including the outcome she had hoped for from the start, hoping this would teach her which actions truly benefit her life. >> All right, ma'am. I just need you to sign this form. It's a criminal trespass form. This basically states that you're no longer welcome on the premises. If you're ever called on the premises again, obviously this is grounds for automatic arrest. Okay. Let's walk over here so you can sign on a flat surface. All right. Other than that, I'm going to need you to do me a favor. I'm going to put your hand behind your back. >> No, unfortunately I'm going to have to take the bag off. >> Can I at least call my job? >> Well, we'll we'll figure all that out shortly afterwards. All right. >> Can I can I bond out or whatever? You're going to be released on Satina right now cuz we're having issue with the jail right now. So, we're going to get you fingerprinted and then we're going to bring you back over here and then you'll be able to go home. >> Mhm. >> In the event, you know, something like this happens and the arrest is more effective where you actually would go to jail and that's something that has to be dealt with for the state. We have to make sure that whoever is going to be able to come over and take care of the child in your absence clearly. But again, this is clearly something you need to really look at yourself at when it comes down to taking care of your child, taking care of your family, taking care of yourself, cuz isn't that really the life that you really want to live? Clearly, the woman was charged with retail theft. Even when someone genuinely cares about their job, cutting corners or stealing will only bring trouble. Honesty and following proper procedures are what truly protect your career and personal life. in this case escalated from a simple traffic stop into the apprehension of a suspect caught shoplifting. >> All y'all come in like this for legal. >> I told you why. I literally just told you. >> So you went in there, you didn't have the intention to take anything, but you saw that the road was open and decided to not pay. >> On February 11th, 2024, police on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. But things surely didn't end there. Now, watch the suspect's initial attitude and leave your comment below. Hey, how are you? >> How you doing? I'm off the Simsville Park Police Department. The reason I stopped, you had your cell phone in your hand when you're driving around. >> Oh, no. Cuz I'm uh trying to get directions. >> Okay. >> Get your driver's license with you. >> You got your license with you? >> Yes, she giving it to her. >> Oh, she got it. Okay. This is you. >> Yeah. I'm trying to get uh the e-wave 290. >> Gotcha. Gotcha. Gotcha. You guys stopped by Juul just now, >> huh? >> You guys were stopped at Jewel just now a little bit ago. >> No, I was at Jules. >> You weren't stopped at Jules? >> It was I stopped at >> Yeah. Were you at the Jules? >> No, I wasn't in the Jules. >> 3 to 26. I see. >> Okay. Can you do me a favor and turn off the car for me? >> Why? because I'm asking you to turn off the car for me. Okay, >> everything's cool. >> All right, do me a favor. Can you step out for me? >> Clearly, this suspect had no intention of cooperating when confronted by the police. But based on additional information gathered about the vehicle, the officers had to take a more assertive approach. >> What? >> Can you step out for me, please? >> Ask me why now? >> Because I'm asking you to. Okay. >> We have lights. I'm asking you to step out because this car was seen leaving the jewel of the scene of a retail theft. Okay. You have proceeds in your car that are consistent with that of somebody committing a retail theft. So that's why I'm asking you to step out. So please can you step out of the car? >> It wasn't You said our car was considered at a jewel. >> Yes. >> So can you please step out of the car? >> Just going to the e-way. >> Step out of the car. I'm I'm not asking you again. Isn't it Y'all y'all come in like this for what we >> I told you why. I literally just told you I need to get out of the car. >> I'm saying what do we do? >> I told you. So go ahead and >> just put the cigarette down, please. Put your hands behind your back. >> Okay. >> We'll get it figured out then you right. >> Huh? >> Nothing sharp on you or anything that's going to focus us. Why don't you walk back here with me? Officer over here. Okay. >> Just walk back here with me. Okay. >> What's your name? >> All right. Do me a favor. Hands behind your back right now. Be detained at this time. Okay. >> Yeah. The driver was handcuffed shortly afterward and during the detention of the other occupants in the vehicle, [music] the driver revealed several lies of their own. >> Yeah, you know, >> what's that? >> I got my receipt already. >> Okay. You just told me you didn't go to the jewels. So now you're saying you do have your seats for the jewels. >> I have I have anything on you. You going to book me or stab me? >> No. >> What's this? >> Okay, I'll get that back. I don't need that right now. >> What's this? >> Keys. >> Okay. Have a seat right here. >> What's that? >> Can I have a seat? >> Can you have a seat? Yeah. If you want to sit on the car, by all means. >> I might have to get the manager for a show up. >> Yeah. >> Did you hear that part? >> I heard that part. or if you want to we take photos. Just a photo identification good, you think? >> After the police thoroughly inspected the vehicle, they collected information on each suspect. However, the details were verified rather loosely as if identities were being concealed to hide prior criminal records. >> That's my This is yours, >> right? So, you're driving the car, right? >> So, you're parish. >> Yes, I'm parish. >> Okay. Can you confirm your address for me? >> No, I don't stay down here. >> Where you stay at? >> Where at? J. You >> got a middle initial. Okay. Huh? My >> man. What's your name? Caleb Simpson. >> Simpson. >> 83. >> Caleb Simpson. >> 6183. Fair. >> Spell your first name. >> K. >> Do you have a middle initial? >> J. >> What's your birthday? >> I have an address up there, but I don't say it. >> Where? Where are you staying at right now? >> Technically homeless. >> Oh, you're technically homeless. What's on your Do you have an ID issue? Do you >> What's on your ID? >> Huh? >> Victor 2, I have a file for you and a name broken. Ready? >> Nothing. Nothing. >> I get my Last is Simpson. Common spelling first of Caleb King a Adam Lincoln e boy. >> You got picked up on the train. >> After confirming statements from the suspects, it turned out that only the driver had committed the theft. Now it was time for the police to make their decision and for honesty to come into play. >> All right, Tasha, right now you're under arrest. Okay. >> For retail theft. I mean, I'm going >> have you stand up. >> Come on. Push up. >> Hey, Schultz, can you uh assist me over here? >> This officer is going to search you. Okay. >> Right over here. >> Do you have anything I need to focus on? >> Just take a few steps. Check >> two. I got we got Victor. You can show one of custody once we can find a file for Tasha or whatever real name is. >> All right. So, how what exactly did you take from the jewels? >> ID. >> How much? How much medications? >> A lot or a little? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Did you put it in a bag? in the uh uh give back. >> The suspect even admitted that they knew how things would turn out, yet they seemed to commit the wrongdoing very casually, simply taking the items without much thought. >> All right. Did you go in there with the intention to take those items? >> No, not in. >> So, how did it end up that you walked out of the store unintentionally? >> I knew it was going to be much. >> So, you you knew it was going to be more. I'm sorry. I'm just paraphrasing. I had a hard time understanding you. >> I cut my horse. I paid no not with his attention but and uh basically the door was but over. >> So you went in there, you didn't have the intention to take anything, but you saw that the door was open and decided to not pay. >> Am I right? Or is that that's I'm paraphrasing what you said. >> Basically. Okay. All right. So, you went in there and then you gathered all the items in a bag that I'm assuming you brought with. >> Did you bring the bag with you >> to get >> to get back? Did you bring that in from your car or did you have that or did you take that from the store as well? >> You brought it with you? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> She's good. >> After apprehending the theft suspect for added caution, the other individuals were also confronted with the consequences of their own actions. >> You This is your car, you said? >> Yeah. Chicago. Uh, you're under arrest. Okay. So, give me >> I need another uh search >> cuz this car is coming back stolen. >> So, you're under arrest also. No, no, don't pull away. We're not going to play that game. You're under arrest. I just notified you. >> You are also under arrest. We'll figure that out at the station. >> Go. Okay. >> I'm going to read to your right. Okay. >> I don't even know where I'm at. >> No, Caleb. I know, man. We'll explain it all. Okay. >> Yeah. >> So, and you may not have known, but we're going to figure that out later. Give you a minute. These signal sex too, not for uh reported missing. >> Huh? >> Reported missing. >> How old are you? >> Are you missing? >> Somebody reported you missing apparently. >> Probably my mother. >> Okay. >> How long you been giving? >> Give your mom's number so I call her and let her know you're okay. >> I don't know, Mom. >> I'm sure CPD's probably got it. >> That's where I'm going. >> We can just take him back and have him sit in the lobby. >> Like missing suicidal or something? I didn't hear. Not crazy. Well, sometimes people feel upset. >> Didn't want to go home. >> All right. Long walk to Chicago anyway. >> How about this, dude? So, what we're going to do is going to get you to PD. You're in like essentially protective custody. Let us figure out what's going on. Come with us. Stay warm and let's figure it out there. So, instead of figuring it out out here, it could be another damn hour at least back to the train station. >> Oh, I here I'll make a deal with you. If [ __ ] turns out, we're, you know, we're going to figure it out. You're going to be on your own. I'll take you right back to the train station. What do you mean? >> Well, I got to I got to call CBD right now. I can't let you go. >> In the end, the driver was charged with retail theft and their initial traffic violation. Remember, even small, seemingly minor actions like ignoring traffic rules or trying to evade responsibility can quickly escalate into serious legal consequences. Worse yet, this woman even pretended to be innocent after being caught red-handed. >> What if I go to jail for it? >> I'm not resisting. >> See, how this works is you can't take stuff from inside and not pay for it >> and take it out and then return it. >> On January 21st, 2024, police responded to a Walmart after reports of a female suspect boldly loading two shopping carts and attempting to walk out without paying. Upon arrival, she was stopped by staff wearing a confused expression. >> What do I go to jail for? >> Do not resist. >> I'm not resisting. >> Put your back. Put your bag there. Put your bag there. >> Right here. >> What am I going to jail for? >> You're under arrest for shoplifting. But these are supposed to be for returns. >> They're supposed to be for See how this works is you can't take stuff from inside and not pay for it >> and take it out and then return it. That's called fraud. It's called stealing. That's how that works. >> You kind of have to pay for stuff before you return it. Well, >> I got the mail. I think um 54 and 56. Can I set up my stuff, please? Can I turn off my stuff, please? >> A seemingly innocent question came from her despite her deliberate wrongdoing. The officers had to explain to her once again as things were far from that simple. >> No, that's not how it works. >> I'm not being sarcastic. >> No, I'm not being sarcastic either. You're an adult. You can't steal stuff from the store, two cart loads full of stuff, and then say, "Oh, I'm in handcuffs now. Now I want to return it." >> Okay. Is this your driver's license in here? My driver license is not in there. >> It's not in here? >> No. >> Okay. >> I wouldn't think so. Can I make a call for the car? >> No. >> You have anything with me sticking her needles in there? >> No. No. >> Yeah. >> Um, hold on. >> I'm going to go with you so that way we can get the receipt and uh you'll go to the office. At this point, the woman figured she couldn't plead with the police, so she turned her attention to the store's loss prevention staff, but she still hid some of the suspicious items in her bag from them. >> We can pay for our cash that already, you're done with that. You stole the bags to begin with. >> No, that's my bag. >> No, you stole these bags to begin with. Your sticky hands got into my That's my stuff. Look, there they are. You even have more in your own personal bag that you just said is yours. >> That is my personal bag. >> I'm in. >> Put her in your car and then he can go in his car >> and then I'll get everything started and go from there. Yep. Just start getting IDs and we'll go from there. I'm recording so 93. >> All right. Perfect. Uh, I'm going to go outside, check on my guys, and then I'll come in and get you guys uh information so that way you can start doing the >> send me the link and all that. >> We'll do all that. >> Yeah, perfect. >> After confirming the value of the merchandise stolen by the woman, the police decided to escort her outside. >> Yeah. Or I can get to >> No, but then if you have the keys, they won't be able to get it. So that's why I'm asking. >> Well, I'll get I'll call the toe and then they'll get the keys. We'll give the keys to We'll give the keys to the toe. >> They live around the corner. Can I pick it up, please? >> Listen, you guys here committing a crime, right? You really committing a crime. We can't we can't be we're not going to be assisting you with your with your what you want to do cuz you're committing crimes and now you want to not tow your car. Feet >> me not to tell my car. I'm just asking politely if they can help pick it up. >> H can they? >> No. >> Sometimes they allow it. >> What is this? Is this a pocket that goes into Sometimes they allow it. That's why I'm asking you. >> Allowing what? >> Because they won't have a car. >> I don't I don't know what you're asking me. >> If my people think if the car owner can't come pick up the car, >> we'll figure that out. >> I'm being very respectful. I know. I know. Yeah, I know. >> I'm being very respectful. I'm not trying to disrespect you. I'm just asking if it's the possibility that I can call. >> Okay. We'll see. We'll see you on depending on how how you cooperate from here on out. Okay. >> Okay. No problem. >> The suspect was fully aware of her crime, but showed no cooperation in the investigation. Instead, she continued making demands for herself. >> Can you um call my husband off my phone? >> Huh? >> Can you call my husband off? Like, can you do it? Like, just go to the contact and tell him I can just say, "Come pick up the car." >> Like I said, I'm going to figure that out at the end. Your car is the least of your worries right now. Literally, your least of your worries. You should That's the last question you need to be asking right now. There's a lot of things we got to figure out first cuz obviously you committed a crime. So, Tell me something. >> That's what I'm ask I'm ask for my >> So I'm going to ask I'm going to ask you once and once only. Okay. About what happened and you need to tell me the exact truth. If you don't tell me the exact truth, that's going to be on you. >> Okay. >> So tell me from from exactly what happened, what you stole, everything from literally where you were. >> Towels. Towels. >> Huh? So what time you who do you come here with? >> I came here with my god brother. >> Okay. And what cars? This is a white Chrysler. >> A white Chrysler. Okay. And uh it's it's in a park in the parking lot right now. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So then you parked in the parking lot with your god brother god brother and what's his name? >> Junior. >> Junior. Okay. Junior. And then after that you guys What happened after that? >> I went in and I um grabbed some towels. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Grab some That's it. So you're telling me all you did was grab some towels. No other items. >> No, it's it was mainly towels. And um >> so you you're you're admitting to stealing these these towels. >> I'm compromising with you. >> Okay. I know. I'm not trying to be >> No, no, no. I'm just I'm just I want to understand that you're you're admitting to you're just saying that you're just it's I want you to understand this is a crime. Like you understand that's wrong, right? >> The woman was charged with felony grand theft. This case shows that deliberate theft, no matter how cleverly planned, always carries consequences. Attempting to manipulate others or hide evidence only worsens your situation. In the next case, this woman was a true queen of excuses. >> I'm sorry to tell you that I'm a regular citizen. I'm on the phone with my mom. I didn't do anything wrong. >> Your ID? >> I don't have an ID, sir. >> Because you're trying to detain me and I didn't do anything. >> Sir, please be gentle. I just got searched. >> On February 27th, 2024, police received a report of a woman committing theft at Walmart and fleeing the scene. When approached as a matching suspect, she immediately defended herself, showing complete refusal to cooperate. >> This is over my belongings. >> Keep your hand out of the bag. Put it down. Put the phone down and give me an ID. >> An ID for what, sir? >> Ma'am, I will place you under arrest. And he suspect I didn't do anything. >> Okay. They told me at Target you you stole a bag of stuff. >> I didn't steal anything. So, >> okay. Don't argue with me. Just give me your ID and we'll figure this out. >> I didn't steal anything, sir. I'm sorry to tell you that. I'm a regular citizen. I'm on the phone with my mom. I didn't do anything wrong. >> Your ID? >> I don't have an ID, sir. >> I do not have an ID. Ma, can you come to um first place right here cuz I'm being harassed by an officer. What is your name, sir? >> Sit down. >> What's your name? The woman clearly asserted her rights as a citizen, acting as if she could question and challenge the police herself. >> Why have you got a 94 in? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Yeah, cuz I'm being harassed. I literally just can't like literally just came out of first watching out. Officer Justice, what is your badge number, sir? >> Sit down, >> sir. What is your I know my rights. I know my rights, sir. >> Turn around. >> Hold on. No, I'm not turning around. No. >> This was a reckless move, setting the stage for a dangerous chase on the street with an outcome far from what she hoped for. >> What the hell? Can you help? >> Stop running. >> All right. >> Sir, I didn't do anything wrong. >> Can I call my mom? >> I didn't do >> Sir, I didn't do anything wrong. >> I have a two kids. I didn't do anything. >> We'll have her in customs from FedEx. >> Sir, I didn't do anything wrong. >> Put your hand behind your back. >> All right. My mom is on the phone. >> I don't care. I got this ran >> because I was trying to detain me and I didn't do anything. >> Sir, please be gentle. I just got served. >> That's your fault. >> She created this situation herself yet continued to resist, making everything more difficult. Her denials now seemed utterly meaningless after her flight. Hey, man. Get off. Stop talking. You >> stop talking. >> I didn't mean to tell you to stop. Where am I? >> Stop talking. Turn around. >> My phone. >> Turn around. >> Ow. My phone. >> I'm not worried about nothing. >> Sir, I didn't do anything wrong. >> Up and in. >> Can you please give me my phone? >> Sit down. Sit down and then. >> Can you please get >> sit down and then? >> Sir, please. I will cooperate. I just want to talk to my mom. You're not talking to no one. You're under arrest. >> All right. >> Let me go get my sunglasses. I drop him across the street. >> Oh, that's all I ask. That's all I asked. >> Please, ma'am. Can I just please call my mom? She have my phone right there. I just need to let her know what's going on. >> But first, I need you to pat you down. >> Okay. Ma'am, can I tell you the reason why I ran? >> Yes. >> It was a clumsy excuse. When the police began questioning her about the incident at Target, the woman already had a story ready for herself. >> Were you not just at Target? >> Yes, I was in Target. >> Did you do anything at Target? Be aware. Don't lie. Because there are cameras everywhere. >> Yes, ma'am. >> So, if there's a reason why we're interacting with you, it's because there's a reason. So, think about what you did at Target that would have had us look for you specifically because you're very specific. You have red braids. You know what I'm saying? So, why what did you do at Target? >> I just met up with my friend at Target. She handed me a bag and I came in here first to use the bathroom. Soon as I came out, the police >> friend handed you a bag at Target. >> A Spanish a Spanish friend that's in that just came from Target. >> You don't know what was in that bag? >> No, ma'am. It was all I saw was on top was a a black coat on top. He asked me for my ID. I told him that my ID was I didn't I don't have >> your ID on you. >> My ID should Yes, it's right there. Right there in my bag. >> At this point, the police contacted the suspect's mother to report the situation, but what they discovered made it clear that the woman's story differed significantly from what the cameras had recorded. >> Um, your daughter, we just stopped her and detained her because apparently she was stealing at Target. They were looking at her right now. They were looking at her through the cameras as she was placing things into her bag and she walked out of the business with all the stuff that she had stolen. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, I will call you back as soon as we make a decision or we figure out what's going on. She started running from the police and that's how we got involved. Okay. >> Hey, where's your LP lady? >> As police speak to my mouth, she just got out of surf when she got my kids. I just want to talk to her. >> Okay. That's going to be up to the arresting officer to make that decision. >> But what am I getting arrested for? >> Right now, you're being detained as far as like pending a further investigation. >> Okay, I understand. I ran. I have I have anxiety, bro. He asked me for my ID. I told him that it was in my bag and he was trying to basically put the handcuffs on me, so I just like ran. Bro, I never been in jail other than last like two months ago over my baby that dust kick. I got a job at Wawwa as a customer service associate. I I have two kids, but I'm 25. I know what I have. >> Based on the evidence collected, the police made their decision regarding the suspect, which was further confirmed when additional items were still being carried. >> You're going to charge >> with the theft. So, after I get a total for everything, it's going to be your grant on the total of everything. >> All right. >> There is video been positively identified. Everything's done and we will charge you as well with the warrant and also obstruction. ran from the police now clear precise verbal commands stop running off to Justin when he had contact with you. So with all that now you're stack poly charge. >> Next time you'll be better just sitting there dealing with the the problem and being done instead of elevating all these charges. >> Okay. So sit tight now. I'm going start in a few. >> So what was the what? >> I don't know yet. They're confirming for me. I didn't check. I'll let you know though when I'm done. Yeah, you photographed both bags. She dumped the the battery bag inside the purse watch trash can >> and then I decide the little Target bag. So, I'm going see on camera which bag was she using? >> Well, she picked up the the bag inside. >> Yeah. So, she probably used this. >> So, she dumped it inside first watch. >> Well, that's part of Target has a tag on. Finally, the woman was charged with pett theft and resisting without violence. Lesson learned. Always cooperate with the police. Resisting or running only makes things worse, turns [music] your excuses meaningless, and adds more charges. Up next is a thief all too familiar to the police. >> They just said, >> "You're not free to go. >> Don't stop. >> STOP. GET away from me, >> on February 9th, 2024, police were dispatched to a grocery store after reports of a repeat shoplifter returning once again. He was like a regular customer, except this one never liked to pay. >> Heather, come on. Let's go. Where? What do you mean? What happened? You know you're not supposed to be here. You saw me come back in. I >> don't start soda. >> No, you're trespassed. They don't want you here. And they can refuse service and trespass anyone they want. >> Yeah. And they want to press charges. So, >> no, I'm just leaving. >> No, you're not free to go. >> Yes, I am. They just said >> you're not free to go. >> Heather claims she was just buying a soda, but staff [snorts] had already reported her for frequently showing up to beg for money and harass customers. The suspect repeatedly challenged the patience of the female officer. >> Not doing anything, bro. >> Sit down. >> I'm going to leave. >> Heather, I don't want to. No, excuse me. Heather, don't start. >> Come on, Heather. Get away from me. Heather, get away from me. >> Get down, Heather. >> No. Heather, stop. >> Heather, stop. >> I'm not doing anything wrong. Heather, get down. >> No, I'm not doing anything wrong. Heather, >> stop. Can you just hold her? >> I'm not doing anything wrong. >> No, I'm not doing anything wrong. >> Yeah. >> The struggle erupted right in the middle of the grocery aisle. Heather screamed and fought fiercely, forcing multiple officers and even bystanders to help restrain her. >> I'm not doing anything wrong. Heather, >> there's no need for this. >> I'm not doing anything wrong. No. Ow. >> Get down, Heather. >> No, I'm not doing anything wrong. Heather, >> no. >> Heather, come on. >> No. >> I don't want to get in a fight with you, Heather. >> No. >> Come on. >> I'm not doing anything, bro. >> Heather, >> I'm not doing anything, bro. >> Just get her leg so she doesn't come back up. >> I'm not doing anything, bro. >> Tyler, please. >> No. Turn around, please. >> No, I'm not doing anything wrong. Stand up and go talk to me. >> No, >> I'm not doing anything wrong. Heather, >> I'm not doing anything wrong. >> Sit here. >> What do you want me to do? >> All the other unit should be pulling up. >> Just hold her feet so she doesn't get up. >> There you go, sir. >> Turn her around. >> Heather, turn around. >> Get her doing anything, bro. >> Get her feet. >> I got her. >> And then we'll start doing anything, bro. >> We'll turn it to the left. >> No. to the left. >> I'm not doing anything wrong. >> Heather, turn. >> I'm not doing anything wrong. >> No. Start. >> Despite screaming, "I didn't do anything wrong." Like a broken record, Heather was still handcuffed and dragged out of the store. Watch how it all ended. >> I'm doing anything wrong. Just sit down like right there. >> Sit inside. >> Sit. I did not do anything. Bro, >> it's actually this trash. But this so I can actually count it for him. You can throw that. That's just trash. 75. Oops. 75 85. >> In the end, Heather was officially charged with trespassing and resisting arrest, facing up to 90 days in jail and hundreds of dollars in fines. After watching Heather scream, "I didn't do anything wrong," on repeat while being dragged out. Do you think the officers handled it just right? Leave your comment below. And now, watch a dangerous all female theft crew. >> Please stop. Stop. Please. >> Put your hands behind your back. Whoa. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Why you wearing my wig? >> I'm not running. He hurting me >> on the ground. >> You hurting me. >> On August 3rd, 2024, in Glen View, Illinois, police launched a breathless chase when a group of suspects boldly stole a van loaded with thousands of dollars in merchandise. Watch how they deal with these stubborn ones. The scratch has been >> 57. A vehicle has a blown front left tire. I'm not chasing anymore. It just pulled into the Willow Creek Church parking lot area. >> Ignoring police orders, the stolen van tore through the streets until a sudden tire blowout forced a sharp turn into a church lot. The real chase began here. 57. I got for C3 boy. Please stop. Stop. Please stop. >> Stop. Stop. >> Okay. >> Come here. >> You got me. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Pregnant. Can we walk up here? Just walk me up here. I'm good. I'm not going to walk. >> You're going to be adjacent to the uh little creek shremer lot. >> Okay. >> No. Put your hands behind your back. >> Excuse me, sir. >> Put your hands >> Please don't grab me. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Please don't grab me. >> Right here. >> So, we figure out what's going on. >> My arm is broke, too, and I'm pregnant. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> My right. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Where's everybody else at? >> Hey, jump the fence. >> Are you good here? >> Yeah. Let me >> I'm not going to drive. I'm not going to. >> Okay, you're not free to leave right now. >> Okay, can you let me go? >> Have a seat. >> A female suspect tried to justify herself by claiming she was pregnant. But police still handcuffed her while two accompllices had fled. Her later statement unexpectedly revealed a long list of the theft crews crimes. >> Why are you guys running? >> Cuz you I'm trying to figure out why you pulled me over. >> Were driving. >> Not me. >> Who were your two other friends? >> You got to find them and ask him. >> So what are you guys doing in the area? >> My phone. >> I'm not going, sir. I cannot run from that. Put >> You're not going in the car right now. I don't know what's in there. I haven't searched it yet or anything. Just come up. Just stay right here. Hey, can you just check the car and make sure nobody else is in there? >> Nobody in there. >> I don't know that. >> Nobody in there know. >> Was it just you three? >> Yeah. What y'all pull us up for? >> Why? >> Yeah. >> Cuz we had a shoplifting call in progress gave this vehicle which is involved in prior incidences >> prior. >> Yeah. >> I ain't know. But no, >> I'm not saying it was you. I'm just saying this vehicle. >> Do you have any type of ID on you? >> Why you searching the vehicle? >> There's a bunch of clothes with tags on it. What do you think? I was I I'm I can't tell you nothing about it. >> The suspect's statement and evidence showed the vehicle was linked to multiple prior thefts loaded with merchandise still bearing tags. At first, she appeared cooperative, but in reality kept trying to slip out of the handcuffs. >> Yeah. Right now, the car is secure. Uh there's a bunch of items with tags all over the car. >> You good with her? >> Mhm. >> I ain't going nowhere cuz man, >> you promise, right? >> I'm about [laughter] people still run even when they're handcuffed. It's already >> No. Get You got to No, cuz I don't want you grabbing ANYTHING CUZ I >> WHAT AM I GRABBING? >> I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S BACK THERE. >> Ain't no Come on now. >> You just said you didn't want to sit down, right? >> Yeah, but I don't Now I don't feel good for that. And I told you I was pregnant. >> Okay, and I get that. I asked you to sit on the curb. You didn't want to do that, but now you're sitting on here. >> This is low. That's really what it was. I really should have sat on the seat. That's That's people personal belonging. It don't make no sense for me to tell no lies at this point. I need you to stop trying to get your arm >> outside the cup. >> First of all, >> okay, look. You're literally squeezing out of it. >> No, I wasn't. First of all, it's five of y'all. I am 6 months pregnant. I'm not running nowhere from y'all. I'm not going nowhere. I'm right here. Y'all got me. It's okay. I'm not going. I didn't even notice that until you seen. I'm not going nowhere. Where am I going? What's I'm 250 lb. Y'all probably You probably 35. Ain't no outrunting you. Her attitude afterward forced police to stay on high alert. >> Owners or I'm sorry, management inside the store saw you stick bottles down your pants. Now, we're not Do you want to go in handcuffs? A Jeep Journey. >> A Jeep what? >> Journey. >> So, a Dodge Journey. >> Yeah. >> What color? >> Gold. >> What? >> Gold. >> Gold. >> Yeah. I didn't know what she was doing. She sat in the back. I seen I'm supposed to park right here. And she said, "All right, well, just move the car." And then, >> did you leave the car down there or >> Huh? >> Did you leave the car down there? Yeah, I got it. >> It's down there. Okay. I told her, you know, you can't park right here. And then I called. I said, "You about to get pulled over." And I said, "What you doing? you all right? Oh, that's what is that where the handcuffs came from? >> 750 ml. But that's 12 medium size bottle light alcohol. >> It's too >> Yeah. >> Ah, you're under arrest >> for what? >> For complicity. >> Things changed, buddy. >> Under arrest for I didn't do anything. >> Explain all that to you back at the station. >> I didn't know she was about to get do anything. >> Turn. It's going to not feel good. >> In the end, Kiana Pennington was officially charged with theft. resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. What started as a reckless attempt to hide liquor turned her into a criminal facing serious, undeniable charges. Next up, a shoplifter who stayed shockingly calm even after being caught red-handed as if confidence. >> I've got to talk to my friend who is paralyz. On February 28th, 2025, officers rushed to a Walmart in Carbondale after reports of shoplifting. Kelsey was caught stuffing items into bags without scanning. Surveillance caught it all. Now watch how she tries to justify the unjustifiable. >> Hi. >> Hi. >> They didn't tell me they told me I was speaking with them about the reaction. I guess it needs to be speed as well. >> Yeah. Yeah. I'm working detail today specifically for shoplifting, retail thefts and whatnot. So, we'll >> I'm going to get your information and then we're going to go from there. Okay. >> All right. 2012 go with my [ __ ] friend right in the wheelchair. >> Say that again. >> I get to go with my crippled friend that's in the wheelchair. Right. >> Well, let's get your name and information first. So, go ahead. Take a seat for me. Do you have 90 on you? >> Yes. >> At first, she appeared calm and cooperative, acting as if she had nothing to fear because she'd done nothing wrong. But soon, she began using her disabled friend as an excuse for everything. >> So, we saw what we thought to be concealment and electronics, but we didn't have confirmation on it. We saw concealment again and pets. Didn't have confirmation. Couldn't see the product actually entering the bag. uh whenever she got to the SCOS, we watched her scan a few items and then put everything else into bags uh without ringing it up. Once she exited her last point of sale, so we made the stop and then uh we just filtered through the receipts that she did have for the stuff uh that we washed her just put directly in the bag, pulled it off the shelf, put everything back and uh they're getting the training receipt right now from it. >> Okay. There wasn't anything taken directly estimated amount. So, I just talked to uh newspaper and he told me that it's at least over $300. >> Walmart staff reported that the stolen merchandise was estimated to be worth over $300 and a detailed list of fake receipts was being printed out. Confronted with the evidence, Kelsey still tried to come up with clever, seemingly reasonable excuses. >> The machine that I rang most of my stuff up with, they said that it wasn't cash, that it was card. So, by the time we went back over there, whenever she did that, I didn't have time to ring up anything else in my cart. >> But you had eight items on your receipt and you had way over more eight items. So, you should have known. >> And I And I could have >> But you didn't. >> If I could have done it with No, no, no, no, no, no, no, ma'am. Let me talk. >> No, you're going to stand up. >> Let me talk. Turn around. Turn around. Am I going to come on? We need to talk and figure some stuff out, but you're not going to talk over us right now. Okay. >> Okay. I'm not telling the truth. >> Okay. Well, they have video of everything, so that'll make it easy. All right. >> Face the wall for me, Kelsey. >> All right, Kelsey, you want to take a seat for me? >> Mhm. >> So, Kelsey, you are under arrest for retail theft. Okay, they have the itemized receipt and it looks like it was over $500. All right, so that is a felony amount. So, you will be going back to the police station with me. Okay. >> Kelsey was handcuffed on the spot. The actual amount stolen totaled over $500. When she learned she'd be held in jail over the weekend, that calm demeanor quickly turned into agitation. >> Been at the police station where probably to jail >> for the weekend? >> Most likely. Yeah. This is a felony arrest. I know, but I don't have any of my medication or anything. Okay, I'll notify the jail. Do you have your epipen? Is that correct? >> No, it's not epipen. I take like 30 minutes. Okay. >> Okay. I got to talk to my I've got to talk to my friend >> who is paralyzed. He's going about to be the one to go to my house. >> Okay. Well, we'll get in contact with him, right? >> Yes. So, what made this all of a sudden me being in jail all weekend? Because this is a felony. Nope. Sit down, friend. Can I put my paper? Um, don't mother. >> Okay. >> You just broke my thumb. >> Oh, no. All right. What did you want to put in there? >> My receipt. Okay, I'll put in a >> She claimed to be the victim, panicking over her medication and blaming officers for being rough. But that act fell apart fast when her long history of theft came to light. >> This is not her first time. She stole $4,000. She's >> trespass. She just breached a trespass. That's another charge. >> I think a criminal trespass it to is 3,900. >> So is that like all the Walmarts together? Is that just branch or >> you really really my phone? >> I need to talk to him about my medicine. >> Okay. forget your medicine. >> No, you guys don't in Murphy'sboro. And he then you don't ever give it to me and then I just seize for nothing but an hour a week straight. Can you tell me? >> She kept begging to speak with Jim, claiming she needed her medication and had to talk in person since he had no phone. But officers soon discovered Jim was also banned from Walmart, making her excuse even weaker. >> He has no phone. I have to speak to him verbal to verbal. is that guy that was with her. He also has prior to with Walmart. He also is trespassed. Okay. Um I don't know if the man is paralyzed. I mean, he was moved. >> Do you want me to try to find him? Try >> that. He was at the service desk. >> I wasn't caught shoplifting. I was trying to use the machine. It was broken. That's why I had to take it to the card reader. Don't work. I used a scan gun. If your scan gun is not working when you pull the trigger and is right over the bars, that is not my fault. >> On the way to jail, Kelsey insisted she didn't mean to steal, blaming a broken scanner. Moments later, she collapsed from chest pain and began seizing, forcing officers to call for emergency medical aid immediately. >> See, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say? Kelsey, you awake. Here you go. Why don't you sit up for me? Okay. Blue. Finally, Kelsey was officially charged with felony retail theft and criminal trespassing as she had already been banned from Walmart for prior offenses. Her attempt to play the victim only deepened her troubles, turning a petty theft into a serious criminal
