hi I'm Mike solberg assistant chief with Mesa police department and I'm over the community engagement and employee Services Bureau today I wanted to talk to you a little bit about our bureau rero consists of three different divisions the Human Resources Division the employee services division and the community engagement division the Human Resources Division consists of our training are hiring our Police Academy which also includes our range we have our off duty under that division as well as our Reserve Program and we had all hiring and all training for new employees and foreign service training as well the employee Services Division consists of our volunteer in police service program as well as our human resource management program in addition doubt our labor relations with the Mesa police association we handle that with in that division as well the community engagement division handles our forums our community forums and I'll explain that here in a second in addition to the community engagement Bureau we have our school resource officers we also have our Explorer program and our Mesa program the forums I want to talk to you a bit more about the forums because that's a good opportunity for the community get involved with the police department of what we do we have numerous forms we have a Hispanic forum an African American forum an Asian forum a Native American forum youth forum a senior forum a disabilities forum a non-profit forum as well as a business forum so there's numerous opportunities for the community get involved not only with what's going on with within the police department but also within the city in addition of those forums there's also opportunity to volunteer with the police department through our bits program as I mentioned earlier and also we have our citizen police academy we have two academies once a year we just graduated class 55 last week and we will have another class starting in the spring of 2016 so if you're interested in any of those opportunities please go to our website we have those opportunities listed there as well as the community forums and if you have any further questions feel free to give us a call
