did you know that as Jesus walked forward carrying his cross facing the midday heat the insults and blows and the weight of the cross the Roman soldiers noticed that his Pace was getting slower and slower the Roman soldiers noticed that his Pace was getting slower and slower which led them to look for someone who could assist him with the load at that moment a man who according to the gospels was returning from the fields after finishing his work was forced to carry the cross with Jesus to Calvary Church tradition says that this journey was enough for Simon of sirene to experience a profound inner transformation when you convert to Christianity when you feel the deep love of Jesus and when you decide to dedicate the rest of your life to preach these experiences sometimes we feel that our own cross is too heavy but it is important to remember that just as in the case of Jesus we have our own sirenian friends family members and even Jesus himself who promised to be with us always ready to help us carry our burden
