On the 4th of February 2024, officers approached a woman suspected of being involved in a shoplifting incident at Walmart. As soon as they made contact, she immediately denied any wrongdoing, as if she already knew exactly why they were there. >> Can you spell Nikia for me? >> I said, "What's the problem?" >> Can you spell your name for me? >> Okay, but what's what's the problem? >> We got a call about shoplifting. >> I wasn't stealing. Strangely, when she was detained, she showed little concern about the items she claimed to have paid for being taken away. In fact, her panic only made the situation more difficult and complicated. >> Man, you hurt my arm. >> No, you're hurting your arm. >> No, I'm not. >> If you relax, >> man. She seemed fully aware of her actions and employees later confirmed the stolen items were still on her. in the pink shirt that she's wearing in order to Here's a bag that she wear. She doesn't have another one. Another shirt, I guess. I don't know how we have her uh her sweater. >> Yeah. >> All right. What I need to do for me to sign right here. I'll be right back with you. Yellow copy. The stolen merchandise was valued at $145, which did not meet the threshold for a felony. So, she was released with a citation and ordered to appear in court. In the end, she was convicted of shoplifting. What do you think about this case? Don't forget to like the video and leave a comment below. Next, this woman became furious after realizing that hiding at home still couldn't keep her from being arrested. >> Oh my god. Let me get my [ __ ] Let me get my >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Y'all going lie, mother. On the 21st of February 2024, police received a tip that a woman suspected of being involved in multiple Target shoplifting incidents had been spotted at this location. When officers arrived, the license [music] plate linked to Camry led them to another wanted suspect. This was what unfolded at the scene. >> Hey. >> Hi. >> How are you? >> Good. How are you? >> Uh, I'm Detective Franco with the police department. Um, is there a girl that lives here named Camry? >> Mhm. >> Is she here? It's my daughter. Is she here right now? I need to talk to her. >> Go get my folder and I'll ask about him. She's still >> Yeah. >> Are they actually going to press charges? >> Yeah. >> Hey. >> Hey. >> Are you camera? >> Yes. Hey, I need to talk to you about some incidents at Target. >> Um, >> that you want to see? >> Huh? >> Okay. Faced with the surveillance footage and evidence, they looked remarkably calm, as if this had happened before. Shortly afterward, the female suspect started asking questions to redirect the conversation instead of letting officers investigate her. >> So, who who brought y to my house? Be honest. >> No, I brought myself. Like I said, I I >> Who gave y'all my address, though? My address don't show up to none of them. What car did you see come to the store? >> Well, it's not registered to you, but when I look up your history, I I have this. >> So, what about the car I was in? Like, what's like at the end of the day like what is it? Like, cuz I know how they say the car >> that one car is linked. I I linked, you know, to a whole >> So, do it got anything like what I got going on? Do it got anything to do with the cars? Like, do y can y'all be able to talk to them? >> I haven't found everybody yet, but uh >> So, who who car you seen? >> Uh, it's a one registered to some lady that lives in Madison County. It's a like >> Well, don't go bothe. >> So, you don't know who that other girl is in that? >> No. >> Whose truck is this right here? >> That got nothing to do with this. This truck just got bought the other day. Okay. Well, here's the thing. You do have an arrest warrant, not for the shoplifting, but for a traffic ticket. So, we're going to put you >> Oh my god. Let me get my >> So, regardless of whether she admitted to the shoplifting or not, her existing warrant meant she had to be arrested. At that point, the situation quickly became even more chaotic. >> Oh my god. Let me get my >> limit. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Y'alling lying mother. I told you not I don't know. >> Let me see the warrant. >> She has a warrant. >> Let me see the warrant. >> What's your lunch? >> Where's the warrant? Where is the warrant? >> We don't have to provide the warrant. >> No, just the you do. You can't just come lock me up without warranting out no [ __ ] We have to wear. >> We are not. Go inside and get her. She was like she's asked >> cuz I told you not to open girl. I can't open on them telling you that stinking goddamn it ain't got nothing to do with that [ __ ] ho >> man. Come on. >> Hey, let me lock these things. >> You a liar. >> Listen, the warrant did pay we see some violence here. >> No, we're recording. >> Pull away from us. >> Y'all some lying, [ __ ] That's why you waited for a moment in the house to [ __ ] lie. >> But calm down. >> Listen. >> I know. Let me lock these so they don't look tighter on your >> mothering. It's all right, >> man. Come on. Come on. >> I'm trying to Come on. Come on. >> I am trying to stop that whole man. Come on. See nothing. No. That's what I'm saying. >> From her mother's reaction. This hardly seemed like the first time she had dealt with the police. Moments later, a man stepped outside, further complicating things. He was the owner of the vehicle tied to the active warrant. >> Let's talk about who car. See, this is not no Jerry car. This one's registered to him. It is. >> I don't see no warrant for nobody. I don't see no >> But this is He's not in there. >> Exactly. >> We're going to go ahead and go. Let me get that shirt. You have no light boxes. >> They won't. Hey, they won't let you uh take him back in there. But you can take you can take the shirt and put it on her. >> A jacket you want to give her for now or a sweatshirt or something? >> That long sle bring back to me now. Like what is your problem with J? What? What? What's up? What? What? >> The guy who owns his truck has a warrant. >> For what? >> He has a warrant. >> For what? >> For criminal activity. >> What? >> That's what warrants are for. >> Pretty sure that's the guy I saw on there that could have been in there. >> He's not. >> Is he in here, Jeremy? >> No. I just say no. >> Hello. >> Don't step in. Tell me. >> Hey, sir. Cuz mama don't know her wife who owns this truck here. >> Junior, you ain't got to talk to this mother. You don't know him. >> You want me just slide it over? >> Give me that long sleeve shirt. >> Junior, go get the long sleeve shirt for my mom. >> Well, that's the guy I just saw. I >> tell I'm telling you I ain't got nothing to do. >> Would you tell Junior? Tell her. Give me that long sleeve shirt. Junior, close the eye. >> The one that got a child. Put your hand. >> It's still showing active, my man. Yeah, double check. I'll talk to you. We'll take care of. >> In the end, Camry pleaded guilty to obstruction on the 18th of April, 2024, and was sentenced to 24 hours in confinement. She later pleaded guilty to the shoplifting charges and was sentenced to 5 years of probation, ordered to pay $1,483 in restitution and $100 in fees. Her boyfriend was charged with abandonment of a dependent child, but the charge was later dismissed. No plea was entered and no sentence was imposed. Don't let past mistakes turn into bigger consequences. Ignoring warrants, resisting arrest, and avoiding responsibility only made the situation worse and led to even more charges. Before moving on to the next shoplifter, take a look at what this intoxicated woman did. >> Wondering, um, what card should I give you? Um, can you check if I gave you a card? spit on you. >> Okay, >> I promise I won't spit on you. >> I did a fresh bucket. >> Good. >> On the 4th of May, 2022, police were dispatched to a bar after receiving reports of an intoxicated woman who refused to pay for services. The situation seemed simple at first, but the amount she had racked up was far from small, and the staff pointed that out as soon as officers arrived on the scene. >> Can't make a payment. It's over a $500 tab. This that I ain't doing [ __ ] So, she needs to leave on top of that, but obviously >> y'all would like to get y'all's payment. >> Yeah. >> Are you going to pay a $500 check? >> Yeah. >> If you want to, you know, pay a checkup. >> What's going on with you? >> I'm doing okay. >> You got an ID with you? >> Let me see it. All right. >> Yes. Thank you. >> What's What's going on with you today? >> Nothing. Okay. It seems that you you might have been had a little too much today. >> Little too much. >> Yeah. So, you know, in state of Florida, when you have when you overdrink, they have to stop serving you. By law, they can't keep serving you. Otherwise, they can get in trouble because you can get sick. >> 12. Well, I I don't want to get too close cuz you know there I don't want you to your bag full. >> Well, can you come closer to me? >> I'm You can't hear me? >> I can't come closer. >> I don't want to come closer. Okay. Stand here. All right. Listen. So, you can't have any more alcoholic beverages. Okay. But if you can have at this point, it's water. Get yourself back to, you know, to where you can get your back teeth together. >> Yeah. >> Build up a tab. Yeah. >> All right. >> I paid for it. >> I have. >> You can ask him. I have. >> The woman insisted that she had already paid because she had handed her card to an employee, but in reality, there was an issue with the card. At that point, the officer explained the situation to her. >> Okay. So, basically what's happened is they tried to use your card and it got declined because they think that it's fraud, the bank. So, what you have to do, which I don't know if you can do that now in the state that you're in, is contact the bank. It's not going to work. You have Apple Pay, they can they'll accept Apple Pay. So, if you want to utilize that, that would be the thing to do is utilize your Apple Pay. So, let's take care of the bill and then let's see if we can get you. >> I have my card and my license. >> I have your driver's license. I don't have your Apple Pay. You can't use Apple Pay with a ID. I I need this, >> sir. Do you hear me? >> I hear you, but do you hear what I'm saying? >> I do. >> What did I say? >> You said that they're not allowing me to pay my card because you're saying >> No, no, they're not. It's not them. It's your bank. Your >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Your financial institution, not here. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, >> you have my card, sir. >> No, I have your ID. >> I don't have your card. And I can't use your card. I don't I don't want your card. >> I obviously I would never give it to you. >> Right. Okay. So, >> the woman insisted that she had already paid because she had handed her card to an employee, but in reality, there was an issue with the card. At that point, the officer explained the situation to her. >> Here's the deal. You got to pay your bill. >> I don't mind. >> Okay. Well, >> do you mind if you ask her, "Where's my card?" >> Yes. Yeah, you know the >> Yes. Do you mind if you look on my card? Are you serious, officer? Are you serious? >> Ask her. Where's my card? >> I'm not going to ask her that. >> Daddy, shut. Yeah, you should. You should do it. >> Excuse me. In about two seconds, you going to get I'm asking this officer. Excuse me. I'm asking this officer. What's the turn around? I can I can pay the bill. >> Come on. Put your hands behind your back. >> You're under arrest. >> All right. You want to put your shoes on or no? >> I do. >> Okay. Go ahead. I gave you an opportunity. You don't want to listen. So now you're going. >> Will you tell me your name? >> Come on. >> No, we're not going to do that. >> I'm just putting my s. Come on. Hey, my stuff is over here. >> Stuff is in my hand. >> No, my jacket. My jacket is like right back here. My jacket is just right back here. I'm not going against you, sir. My jacket is just here. >> The woman was completely intoxicated, causing her behavior to become increasingly erratic. As a result, the officer handcuffed her to keep the situation from dragging on any longer. Even then, she continued making things difficult. Oh my god. >> Why are you taking me on? >> Have a seat. >> I got you. Got to have a seat. Come on. There you go. All right. Listen. What I do with that ID? When we don't listen. We got to do what we got to do. You know, >> she told me that she has a flight today cuz she's blacked out. She's not going to remember this. >> She's not going to remember. >> She's going to have missed her flight. She can't get on a plane like this no matter what. They're not going to let her in the airport like this. [laughter] I know. >> They'll be calling. They'll be calling us in a minute. >> I just had your situation to escalate. >> It doesn't. So, we just got to >> sober up. We don't have any ties to the community, so you got to go to jail. Let's turn up the air so you can get yourself some air. >> I was giving you all the air. >> There you go. Why can't you breathe? Well, stop panicking and we'll be all right. >> Who's hurting you? How about the bill? Are you guys pressing charges for the bill? >> He's not going to charge. He's going to write it off my tax. >> He won't be able to write it off my tax. >> I got all my hair in my face. >> Take the hair out your face. All you have to do is move. All you got to do is move your head. >> Throughout the entire transport, the woman never stopped causing disturbances. And by the time they arrived at the police station, officers had to take precautions against the behavior she might display. >> Okay, >> you can step out. You can step out. >> Step out. I got you. I'm not going to let you fall. Let me know. I got you. I got you. Got plenty. Yeah. I'm not gonna let you fall. >> She wanted to use the rest one, but I guess that ain't gonna happen now. >> Check your cuffs. Okay. >> Take the handcuffs off. >> I want to make sure they're all right. All right, I can fit one fat finger in there. This one I'm going to fix. I want to fix this one, too. >> I need a fresh taste. >> Give me put it back on me. >> Yeah, I know. >> I need I just need a fresh breath of air. >> Okay, let me do this first. Okay, let me fix this cuz it's really tight on your wrist. Okay, >> thank you. >> All right, hold on one second. Okay. >> Okay, hold on one second. I'm trying to loosen it. Okay. >> All right. Now, I'm going to lock it so it does not get tighter on. >> I just need a fresh. >> Okay, I'll get you that. But let me lock it so it doesn't get tighter on you. Hold on one second. I want to lock it so it doesn't get tighter on you. >> You're trying to help me. I need a fresh breath again. >> I will, honey. >> Put this bag back on there. >> Okay. I wanted to make sure that was not tight on your wrist. Okay. And this one. Let me make sure it doesn't tight on your wrist. I'll give you a fresh breath. But I don't understand this. If you spit on me, I'm going to slam you. >> I'm not going to spit on your wrist. Okay. >> I promise I won't spit on you. >> I need a fresh breath. >> Good. The intoxicated woman was charged with seconddegree misdemeanor disorderly intoxication. However, a few weeks later, the state attorney's office decided not to pursue the case and the charge was dropped. Her cash bond was returned. Excessive drinking and uncooperative behavior can quickly turn a simple situation into a legal problem. Next, this woman believed she could outsmart the store's surveillance cameras. You can see right there. She's only paid for the TV, the tide, the hefty. You I'm putting you in handcuffs. >> Why? >> Because you are. >> I'm good. Because y'all take us so it's not mine. >> On the 23rd of April, 2024, police stopped a woman as she attempted to leave after being suspected of shoplifting at Walmart. Officers quickly approached her, but she used every unbelievable excuse she could think of to avoid the situation. >> Yeah, just for now. >> Okay. Can I talk to you? >> Yeah. No, we're going to Trust me, we're going to figure it all out. You got your DL on you real quick? >> No, I don't. >> I had just bought this car. >> Okay, just here. Sit down. Relax for a second. Okay. >> I have a flesh eating bacteria, sir. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Yep. I see. >> And I had came here to get this stuff. >> Okay. >> I just bought this car. The dude that I bought it from went to jail. >> Okay. Problems with >> We'll go Let's go in the AP office. >> Well, no, cuz I didn't do nothing. >> Well, you know what? Fine. >> Well, here's here's what we're going >> I don't want my car to stuff cuz I need my stuff. >> All right. All right. I will try and help you as much as I can. I don't want to touch somebody. I have a flesh in their neck, too. >> I got you. All right. >> That's why I don't want to do that. >> Well, >> well, you're going to have to wait here for somebody else get here and sit with you then. So, >> that's fine. That's fine. I ain't got no problem with that. Can I smoke my cigarette? >> Yeah. >> A flesheating bacteria infection was certainly a bizarre excuse to avoid the investigation, but the woman failed to keep up the act as she soon admitted it herself. >> Hey, so what's your uh what's your first name? >> Maria. I have a warrant in Collinsville, but they told me all I had to do was come in and that's what I planned on doing yet tomorrow. >> Maria, what's your mail? >> Before I went into the hospital. >> What's your mail and >> I don't have one. Sorry. >> What's your last name? >> I don't got no lighter. >> I got you. You got a phone number? >> Um, >> okay. Let's figure I'm going to figure out what's going on. >> I didn't steal nothing. >> Okay. All right. >> Copy one. 27 29. If you paid attention, she brought up the theft before the officers even mentioned it, which only further suggested that she knew exactly what she had done. Meanwhile, Walmart's loss prevention team had even more information about this suspect. >> All right. What's up, man? What's going on? This is >> Did she actually get the stuff or >> Yeah, the girls the girls know. >> Okay. I just need some mail to get here. >> Yeah. >> So, what did she buy? >> She's looking for light. >> Yeah, it looks like >> she got the TV. >> Yeah, it looks like she got the TV. She got a bunch of stuff. other stuff like the vacuum and ties and stuff like that. >> What did she not pay for? >> That's what I believe she didn't pay for. The girls know uh >> we got to find out. But this is what she did pay for. >> Yeah. Okay. Correct. >> All right. >> 135. Who's uh responding out here? Becca. >> This is a This is a fun one. All right. Just kidding. What we got? >> So, she paid for this stuff. She come to She all the time at this time. Thank you. >> She had way more on something. >> This her third time this week >> that she stole? >> Yes. She only got caught today. >> Well, they got four items on her. >> She pushed out a uh a TV on Sunday. >> Well, the TV she's got a TV on there. >> Yeah. No, no, she she bought a TV today, but I'm saying >> she pushed out Sunday a TV. >> Okay. >> So, do you have video of all that and everything? >> Yep. >> Okay. I'm trying to get her coming in because she saying she came in with all that stuff. She did not >> she's what? >> She said she came in with all that stuff in her room. >> So, it turned out this was far from the first time the woman had shown up here. Shortly afterward, officers reviewed the surveillance footage to verify the value of the merchandise and the items she had taken. >> Probably around $3 $400. >> Okay. >> About to get that together. >> I guess I can just >> Well, what I would do is confirm's warrant. Yeah. >> Transport meet a council officer at Hollywood Heights or something to her out of custody of this. >> She wanted McDonald's anyway cuz she pushed that on him and like $800 for that. >> Go ahead, please. >> Okay. Call your Wi-Fi paper. >> So, is the case from this weekend from this store or council store? >> No. No. This is us right now. The vacuum and the cricket materials are today for the case you were referencing that you had a case on it from was it Sunday. >> Is that this store or this store? >> What are we going to do with his car? Leave it here. >> When she's done sanitize your car >> and then whatever she touches and looking also sanitize and if you need help, I'll go back to help you clean. cuz that's that stuff is super. >> Back to the woman, she was unable to prove ownership of the items they found. It seems she had already prepared excuses in advance, but they were the same familiar claims often heard in countless shoplifting cases. >> Some of those stuff that y'all got is my stuff that I got from a different store longterm receipt. >> I can't get the receipt when I bought them weeks ago. them vitamins of mine and one of them are open. They came from Walmart in Grand City. I can show you one of them. The dudes like my [ __ ] down. >> If they wasn't on the receipt, they shouldn't be in that bucket. >> I'm sit down. We can find out yours. >> They are mine. >> Here. Set it down. >> Clean my own car. >> Set that down. >> Thanks for no thanks. >> Here. Look. Stand up. Stand up. Turn around. >> No. >> You I'm putting you in handcuffs. >> Why? Because you are going >> because y'all taking stuff that's not mine. >> Okay. Well, we'll figure that out. But you're you have to stand up. Put your hands on the back. >> Stand up. Come on. >> Why y'all putting me in jail? >> Well, I'm going to take you to the apartment and we're going to interview. I'm going to book you there and then >> What's going to happen to my car? >> I'm not going to tow the car. >> Can I move you somewhere else? >> We'll take that. >> We have the car. >> No, I don't. >> I don't have anything. >> You have anybody else over here? >> No. >> No. Listen, can I call somebody to come? Hold on. Can I call somebody to come get it? >> Yeah, you can. Can I use the phone? I don't have a phone. >> She seemed far more concerned about her car being towed than the crime she had committed, as if she had already accepted that she could no longer deny it. Even after being placed in the patrol car, she showed no sign of remorse whatsoever. >> Well, you got to do that. Here, I'll tell you. >> I just want to smoke a square, man. I ain't trying to >> Where are your cigarettes anyway? Where your cigarette? >> They in my glove compartment right there as soon as you open them up. >> I'm not trying to run. I don't care about none of that [ __ ] How about >> I'm pretty sure I ain't going to move your hands to the front. That's fine. I'm pretty sure I ain't going to trouble. >> You're not getting any more trouble, right? >> No, I'm not stupid. >> Oh, you got double lock in the middle. >> There you go. Take that right here. That's how easy that was. It was right there. >> Yeah, you got you got stuff. You know we can't. >> Yeah, I know y'all can't do that. >> All right, just hang down right here. You stand right by my car by the door and I got this. We're good on this girl. >> I think my lighter is right there. Where's your ladder at? So >> you So you you uncovered her and she got it. Do you need something a female? >> No, I'm good. That's okay. Yeah, I just She's getting her cigarette, so she just >> Finally, the woman was charged with retail theft. Taking responsibility for your actions is always better than making excuses. Repeated dishonesty and theft can quickly lead to serious legal [music] consequences. Worse, this teen stole his mother's car, causing major consequences. Nobody's shot under the car. Nobody shots under the car. >> 35 is almost on his head. >> I don't know what to do. >> Just take a breather. Let's I know it's rough, but take a breather. Okay. >> On the 16th of May, 2023, police received a 911 call reporting a horrific crash. The caller, who was also the driver, admitted he had crashed his mother's Porsche into a ditch after losing control at high speed. This was what happened when officers arrived at the scene. >> Who's inside? Who's inside? Nobody shot them to the court. Nobody shot through the car. >> 35 is almost in his head. >> Give me traffic. >> Yeah. >> Zack. Zach. We crashed. >> Stay here. Stay here. Where is he? >> What's his name? >> What's his name? Okay. >> Stay in my car. >> Oh my god. Go. Jump. >> I can't I can't be alone right now. I can't >> just jump on the pants. I don't want you near the fire. >> The situation became tense as the driver's friend was in grave danger. He panicked, prompting officers to do their best to keep him calm and under control. >> Yes, it was. It was my fault. >> Just relax. Take a breather. Take a breather. Take a breather. Take a breather. Okay. Take a breather. I have just blood on my hand. >> Just relax. I just blood away. Just take a breather, man. >> I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Just wait here. >> The driver was identified as only 20 years old and had taken his mother's car without permission, essentially stealing his own mother's vehicle. Minutes later, firefighters were dispatched to the scene to help manage the emergency. >> Oh my god, dude. Are you >> I'm fine, dude. Are you okay? That's what matters. >> I saw this car coming out >> after I left the neighborhood. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, but he wasn't driving reckless or anything. >> I don't know. >> Okay. He's He's trapped in there. I tried pulling him out. >> That's fine. >> Yeah, he was in the car. copy location. >> I'll just stay back. >> Yeah, dude. No, let's I I know it's a lot. Let's go over here. Okay, >> let's try to get a little >> Is this This is yours, right? >> Yeah. Yeah. He'sing dead, bro. >> Come over. Passenger witness. >> He was in the car with him. >> He was in the car with him. Tell them to still and they're going to have to check him out. >> Yeah, we already told him. >> I've noticed since kindergarten. >> No, no. I'm I'm fine, dude. >> I know. That was the reason. >> I don't know what to >> Just take a breather. Listen, I >> I know it's rough, >> but take a breather. Okay. >> What the >> Remember that if you ever find yourself in a similar situation, panicking only makes things more complicated. In some cases, staying calm and remaining still can be an effective way to help. Meanwhile, the fire crew worked intensely to extinguish the flames and bring the situation under control. However, looking at the aftermath, it is easy to understand what had likely happened to the passenger. At that time, officers also approached nearby witnesses to gather more information and better understand the situation. >> Hey, boss, did you give him a did you give him a ride up here or no? >> Oh, those people behind us. >> No, behind us, not me. >> All right. When he went back to the campsite, wherever you guys were, what did he say? >> He said the car flipped and his friend is sucked in it. >> Okay. And then he came to help him and we drove him back here. >> We didn't. >> The car behind you, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Cuz the reason is somebody died. So FHP is going to come here. >> Um and they're probably going to ask you guys the same questions. >> So I'm basically trying to ask you the question so that when FHP gets here, I can just relay that to them. Um you have your driver's license on you. >> Yeah. >> All of you guys were like hanging out as a group over there. >> We don't know those people. >> No, no, yeah. Yeah. I'm talking about you two and the the people behind you guys. And >> your name is >> Yeah, >> I know you from what? >> Yeah. Huh? >> You were the one that was driving on on 419 that day without a license in the back. Wasn't that you >> 3:00 a.m. in the morning? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> I kne I knew I knew this car looked familiar. >> Hey, it's now low in the wheel. >> Yeah. Well, I see you riding with a plate now. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Sorry. I was running like she asked me. >> No, you good, man. You see why we did what we did, right? Because of some of this right here. You know, that's exactly why. All right, boss. Um, so basically, I'm going to tell you the same thing I told him. Somebody died in the accident. Um, FHV is coming, so they're probably going to want to ask you guys questions. Just basically same thing I asked you. No worries. >> The driver, a 20-year-old male, was ultimately charged with vehicular homicide and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. A single reckless decision behind the wheel can escalate into irreversible consequences. Respecting driving limits, understanding responsibility, and staying calm in emergencies are essential because panic and careless judgment can turn a survivable situation into a tragedy. Before moving on to the next thief, let's take a look at this lying Karen. >> Yeah, I want him to run and we're going on vacation right now. We're leaving for vacation. My ex-boyfriend be waited. Mom, be arrested. Mama, be arrested. >> On the 12th of August, 2024, police were dispatched to a residential area after receiving reports that a man violating a protection order had appeared there. But things did not go smoothly when the officers encountered Micah and Elizabeth. >> Nicholas here? >> I don't I don't know. I just got here myself. >> Okay. Is it all right if I go to the front door? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> What's your name, sir? My name's Micah. >> Micah? >> Yeah. >> Okay. We're just here to talk to Nicholas and uh Elizabeth. >> Is Elizabeth here? >> I think so. Yeah. >> Police department. >> Hey, Elizabeth. >> Yeah. >> How are you? >> How are you? >> Uh can we talk to Nicholas? >> He's not here. >> We just saw him go inside. >> He's not here. >> We just watched him walk inside. >> He is here. >> He's not here. >> We I'm not going to argue with you. I just saw him walk inside. >> But he's not here. I don't know who you saw walk. I think I saw Jeff walk inside. Is that Jeff? >> Yeah, but you did not see me walk inside. Nick's at Sarah's house. >> He's okay if I go inside and check? >> I No, you're not coming in my house. >> Not going in your house? >> No. >> Okay. Well, we definitely just saw him walk inside. >> No, you do not. I'm telling you, he's not here. I I wouldn't lie to you. You might walk inside. You do not see that walk inside. >> Well, Micah just stated that Nicholas is here and he just walked inside. >> M. He did. And I did not say that. [laughter] >> He definitely told me he did. And we've seen a picture of Nicholas and we just saw him standing right here by his car. >> Well, Nick's not here. >> Whose car is this? Whose car is this? >> That's my car. >> Let me ask you a question. >> Yeah. >> You said Jeff's here. >> Police attempted to test the woman by using misleading statements to see whether she was lying. However, her responses only reinforced the impression that she had been prepared to deal with law enforcement. At that point, the officers changed their approach to a more direct and straightforward method. >> I'll just be honest with you. The way we're going right now is we're probably just going to end up writing a search warrant and we're going to have to get into your house that way. >> Well, if you come back with a warrant, you can come in my house. >> What? >> Jeff's here. Jeff's here. Jeff's not here. >> Jeff's not >> okay. So, she's saying that Jeff's not here. So, then who what guy that walked inside? >> Can you go bring him inside there? >> Who was in there? >> Not here. >> Is is Nick? >> No. >> Then who who what man just walked inside? >> I didn't see a man walk inside. But I was in my room. >> Stop. I was just in there. >> Well, I observe Nick walk inside. I know he's here. >> Oh, I don't know. I didn't see him. >> I haven't seen him. I've been in my room. >> What's your name? >> Elizabeth. >> Elizabeth? >> Yeah. >> Hey, Nick. We know you're in there. Please come out. >> There's nobody in my house. >> We know he's in there. We just saw him walk inside. >> I'm telling you, Nick is not here. >> We're not. >> I promise you, if you want to talk to Nick, you need to go to Sarah Miller's house. He's at Sebell's house. >> Here's the thing. I don't I don't want to argue with you a ton, Elizabeth. >> I don't want to argue either. >> We are three grown men who were parked right there. >> I understand that. >> We saw a white male with long blonde hair just like Nick >> walk. I know what you're saying, but you're lying. >> I'm not lying to you. >> Oh, hold on. We saw him physically walk into the house. >> I don't know who you saw, but it was not Nick. >> Wait, but what you're saying doesn't make sense, right? It was clear that the entire family had coordinated to hide the man, further proving that a neighbor of theirs exposed the truth. >> He's on the top back here by my windows by my living room. >> He's in your >> He's in my backyard. >> Yeah, but is it like a deck? >> It's not a deck. It's a patio. It's flat. It's like >> Do we have permission to go back there? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> She's saying that he's in the backyard in your backyard. >> Can we access it through here? >> Let's get two more. Can I just say, would you be interested in pressing charges against him for trespassing? That's all right. >> Um, crazy. >> We're at in our backyard. >> Do you go around? He's up here on the back side. So, it's like hiding. >> He's hiding behind my chair. >> But then he like Do you see him? >> Yeah, I can see my >> Can you take a picture of him? >> Yeah, my niece is up there right now. information on a subject that is >> We're going to the back. >> Let's go. >> Nick, you're under arrest. >> Come here. Right there. Stop. You're under arrest. >> Come to me. [screaming] >> Turn around. Face away from me. >> If you do anything, force will be used against you. Walk back towards the sound of my voice. >> Keep going. >> 44. We have right now in the mail right now. The man was arrested and the woman quickly became aware of it. However, what followed was a reaction filled with disappointment and frustration from her. Get over here. >> What's going on? >> Interested. For >> the first time ever, I'm going to keep my mouth shut. You guys You guys are pieces of [ __ ] Hope you know that. >> Okay. Do you want to provide a statement or anything? >> Yeah. You guys are ass [ __ ] and you should all that's my statement years. Yeah, I'm aware of that [ __ ] >> Okay, >> you have the worst I've ever done. I hope you all get shot and killed tonight. Every last one of you. >> I hate you. >> Stay away from him, please. >> I'm not going to go anywhere near him. I know the rules. >> Well, you're going in his direction. >> I can go over the world of my country. You just up my entire life. >> Yeah. >> Do you understand that? back to your car. The boat looks like >> Why the didn't you run? I bought you all kinds of time. >> You're trying to get him to run away. >> Get him away. >> Yeah, I want him to run. Dude, we're we're going on vacation right now. We're leaving for vacation. My ex-boyfriend had a car being with his daughter. His daughter's right there. We're going on vacation. Like 10 minutes, we wouldn't have been here. >> How would you like if someone shut up with your with you? Why haven't ruined your vacation? >> I have no contact. if against your will that you've gone to court multiple times to get rid of and they just won't do it because they're stupid. Do you understand that you're ruining our life? The woman still did not realize that her actions amounted to concealing a crime and she would certainly face consequences for it. At this point, the officers proceeded with enforcement action. Elizabeth, >> come out here and talk to me real quick. >> What's going on with your friend? >> With what? What? >> Your friend. >> Elizabeth, she's got DS. She's not supposed to be here in the first place. >> Yeah, >> you guys should have arrested her when you were here the first time. >> She got Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait, wait. Mom, I'm being arrested. Mom, I'm being arrested. >> Mom, I'm being arrested. >> And I lost my cuffs on the last time. >> Mom, I'm being arrested. Come get Haley right now. >> I'm not resisting. I'm not going to resist. >> Mom, I'm being arrested. Haley, grandma's on her way. >> Haley, grandma's on her way. I promise. >> I'll go take statements. >> Tell her grandmy's on her way. Get her. Tell her to get her cell phone. >> She's in there screaming. Her cell phone's in the car. Mom, I can't tell her anything. They're taking me to the car. I can't tell her anything. >> Okay. Well, let's ask the officer to tell her to get the cell phone. >> No, I don't want to talk to her. >> Ma'am, all we're not leaving, okay? >> We're not leaving yet. We need you to come here as soon as possible. That's all. Don't worry about anything else. Don't worry about granddaughter yet. We we'll stay here with granddaughter until you arrive. We just need you to be as soon as possible. >> You do not need to hear my daughter. >> It will be. It will be. I guess >> I'm sorry I threatened you. I I was >> The woman was charged with concealing an individual in violation of a protection order and obstructing law enforcement during the execution of their duties. Deliberately hiding or protecting someone who is violating the law does not improve the situation. She is currently in the corner of the store. She also has a bag of description of that bag. She deflected them on the other side of that wall. came over here and was looking around and that's when she started taking the hard tags off. >> And which one was taking the hard tags off? >> The girl that's giving you >> The store's accusations alone were clear enough to point toward guilt and police took action, but it was obvious the women were not going to make it easy. >> They're right here. Come here. >> What? Cuz I'm moving. Stop. Okay, >> we're not playing these games. >> Okay, I'm sorry, sir. Stop. Okay. Okay. Okay. I'm not going to move. I promise. We don't have anything. >> I said you're detained. I said don't do anything. >> Okay. But why is we getting arrested when we don't have anything? >> Because you're taking the sensors off and I caught you before you walked out. She's going to have a magnet on her somewhere. Unless she stashed that somewhere, too. >> Sorry. I don't have >> And how are you taking the sensors off? >> I don't take anything. >> Not you. >> That one. >> And once they were taken outside, officers checked her information and realized the name she provided did not match the identification they found. Watch her explanation for this discrepancy. >> Right there. >> Yeah, that's why I told >> you I never had a mag, sir. >> My dad go No, it's Kia. I have two names, sir. Both of them will pull up. >> And you said you said 81 or 9. >> No, I'm sorry. I I said 91. I think he got 82192. I said 91 92. >> 821 of 92. That didn't even close. >> That's 9192. >> 91 of 92. All the way in. >> Am I going to jail? Can you be honest with me >> right now? Yes. >> Why? >> Okay. >> I don't know if it's going to be for retail theft right now. Possession of the theft device. I will get that to you. Okay, right now you just got to cooperate with me. Okay, so now >> Okay, wait one second before I sit down. Can I please just make one call off my phone right now? >> Please, because my my daughter is at work and I just want her to know what's going on, please. >> I promise you this. If I take you to jail, I'll give you that call. >> Okay. >> No, I don't want to go to jail. >> I said if I'll give you >> Please don't take me to jail. >> I know. Have a seat. Okay. >> You have nothing in your bra? >> No. In the end, the women were charged with retail theft, possession of a theft device, and obstruction for providing inconsistent identification information. When denial replaces cooperation, even small actions can quickly turn suspicion into serious charges. Next, two girls, but two completely different fates. >> She threw the box right there, and then she goes back. Ameilia goes back and make sure that >> please get the tucked my girl. >> On the 17th of April 2025, officers received a report from Walmart after two suspects were caught shoplifting inside the store. But it quickly became clear these suspects were far from simple. Here's what unfolded when police arrived at the scene. >> Hi, I'm Officer Lucia Albuquerque Police Department. You guys are both detained, not free to leave in regards to the shoplifting, and then you're a runaway. Okay. How long have you been away from CAFD? >> I'm underway. >> Are you in CFD custody? >> Yes. >> Okay. They have you as missing. That's why I'm saying. Okay. >> Who are you supposed to be with? [laughter] >> I I'm I live in a housing program. >> Do you have a what? >> I have a housing program. I live like >> I'm sorry. >> I do a program through Cyd. >> That's right. >> I'm not missing. My housing manager is outside right now. >> Okay. I don't know. I'm just telling when I ran you that's the information that popped up. Maybe they meant to take you out and they didn't. Yeah, you didn't know me. >> So, the cops just got her. >> Are you APD? >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> I'm just waiting for my partner and I'll take it to my car real quick. >> Who are you talking to? >> I found the glue. That was it. [snorts] >> Dude, I need to get off the phone. I got to go, Josh. From the trembling, stuttered words of the woman who had been reported missing to the tearful regret of the other girl, both eventually admitted to what they had done. Soon after, officers made their decision. Okay. So, stand up face away from me. I'm going to place you in hot cups. Okay. Face this way. >> I'm trying to get these up. That's why the rest of us is just that you have. Okay. >> Robert, who are you talking to? >> Okay. Did you guys drive here? >> No. >> She's right outside. >> Okay. >> Is she? >> No. >> Oh, she's here hugging. Okay. Like I said, just when I read your information, I was showing that you were missing. Maybe it's old. I don't. We'll figure it out. Okay. Anything on you that I need to be aware of? Anything that could hurt? Okay. You want to walk up to maybe I'll be All right. I'll be right back. >> And then here to the right. Okay. >> When we get to my vehicle, I'm going to conduct with just a pat down. It's just for weapons before you sit in my vehicle. Okay. >> What's your first name? I'm >> the other girl was identified as a 17-year-old reported missing. So, the guardian from the program she mentioned was called to the scene to handle the situation. >> Ceiling. Okay. >> She showed me the receipt. It's 27. I used to work last prevention. So, um I kind of explained to her I understood like the they saw them. They have them on video. >> Did the Did the juvenile call you? Is that how you guys got here or how did you end up? >> Yeah. Yeah. So, the juvenile called Well, actually Amelia called me. Fair enough. Um and she was saying that um they were they were calling APD and uh so I don't know if you know Amelia's black >> Yeah. >> story. So we just got her out. She just reported a pre-trial out today. Okay. >> And um so I completely understand that what they were saying is they wanted to see Terry. Right. Right. And >> well I actually haven't talked to them yet. I just didn't know. So basically when I ran the juveniles information she was coming back as a a runaway. >> Okay. some way so that way I can get her out. >> So she's on our program um center. So we run with partnership with CP and we are responsible for these students. >> So we are but she's under >> interesting. Okay. >> So she's >> Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. >> Yeah. Just so you know you're not missing. >> This way. This way. This way. Thank you. >> You have a phone with you? >> No. >> No. Okay. >> That's fine. Just don't smoke in there. Okay. >> Do I Do you have to close the door? >> I have to. Yeah. >> Huh? Yeah, of course I do. >> So, they're both in the same program in the same facility. Okay. Yes. And so how did they get her? >> So they uh she went to pre-trial and they were uh they I dropped them off, >> but I had no clue. I had no idea because our center Yeah. Cuz our center is down the street. So I took her to pre-trial. >> Back inside the store, a loss prevention employee provided footage that would become nearly impossible evidence for them to deny. >> Right. Um they were, you know, we have two females coming in with bags. I started watching them. I right away noticed Amelia um just from the vlog stuff like that. Um they went and made their way into cosmetics after cosmetics. Amelia selected some eyelashes and some glue and then they walked out of cosmetics went into Home Lines and they went into a corner and they started opening up the packaging. She gave the eyelashes to Amelia or to I'm sorry to Elise. She grabbed the eyelashes, concealed it, and then Ameilia got the box and threw it. And then um in that little corner, she concealed the glue. So when we brought him in here, she said, "I didn't take anything." Um it was all my friend. When we did the pat down, they had the stuff that we observed them selecting. So >> she was like looking around. Oh, it's her again. She threw the box right there and then she goes back, Ameilia goes back and make sure that she like stuffs it in the back. Um, so at that point when they go to the front, I have my partner take over camera and then that's when I I put the packaging already back at customer service, but I went back to the floor and grabbed it and it was empty. >> Okay. >> At this point, officers approached the woman who had initially acted remorseful, but the involvement of her accomplice only added even more charges against her. comfortable talking to me about what happened today? >> I don't know. I don't think so. >> Okay. So, >> sorry. It's just cuz last time they took me away. >> Okay. So, we won't then we'll we'll we'll take that as a no and then we um I won't ask any questions in regards to what's going on. Um I will be contacting your pre-trial officer just to see what our next steps are going to be in regards to you. you are going to be criminally trespassed from the property um per their request and then we also have the shoplifting portion of it as well. Okay, >> watch your knees so I can close this. So, you are going to be placed under arrest in regards to the shoplifting and the contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Okay. >> Yeah. Please talk to the cruel police. Don't do anything. >> So, in regards to your pre-trial officer, obviously he's not here. I had to talk to the supervisor. Okay. The supervisor is not putting forth any type of additional criminal charges. He just has to put in a petition to the judge and the judge will decide what happens. Okay. [laughter] >> Um please [gasps] can we talk to him? >> Talk to him. >> The free. >> We can definitely try to give him a call, but that's not going to change the outcome of today. Okay. >> Charges. The 17-year-old girl was trespassed from Walmart and released back to her guardian, while the other woman was charged with felony shoplifting, criminal trespassing, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Many offenders believe acting remorseful or shifting the blame will lessen the consequences, but in the end, their own words and actions often become the very thing that makes the charges even worse. Next, this woman even tried to steal her own car. >> Get on the ground now. Get on the ground. I'm going to give you two more seconds. Get on the ground. >> So, fill me in. What what happened? [laughter] >> How did it escalate to this point? You [music] know, >> on the 22nd of January, 2026, officers were dispatched to an impound lot after a woman attempted to steal her own vehicle that had previously been impounded for an earlier violation. The moment they arrived on scene, the atmosphere immediately turned tense. >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. You're going to get changed. Get on the ground now. Get on the ground. I'm going to give you two more seconds. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. What's wrong with you? What's wrong with you? >> Where's the car? >> Are you stupid or are you stupid? >> What did I do? >> Give me instructions. You follow us. >> Okay. Give me a second. >> Don't start reaching. Please do not start reaching. >> All right. Come on. >> Okay. >> Shortly after the woman was arrested, an officer approached the employees on scene to clarify what had happened. And it appeared that everything leading up to it had been completely brazen. >> You need medical attention? >> Uh, >> they can't do anything for the pepper spray bud. >> All right. >> Walk me through what happened. >> I should have on camera. >> Perfect. Let's see. >> Yeah. Uh, >> you want to move it up? He wants to get through everything. So, um, >> I open the gate. >> I left my truck right there. What was that? >> With the car attached. >> Uh, no, no, no. I was leaving home. I just got here to go to work. Uh, I give me my motorcycle. So, um, >> I was pulling the that white trailer over there. You guys, that's my trailer. I was bringing the motorcycle. >> Okay. >> But I left my truck there. >> Oh, I didn't see her coming in. >> Okay. Um he called me cuz he was going through that gate. He's like, "Yo, I think there's somebody in there. They were you." I'm like, "No." So I go back. I'm walking back. I noticed that um she had the car was parked behind the blue Honda right there. >> Okay. >> So she moved over here, but she cannot go out and my truck is there. >> Yeah. >> Because truck open. She hop on my trucks. She rested all the wings. She moved it like these people on the scrap metal place. >> She right there in the middle. >> She left what in the middle? >> Uh my truck like she parked it right there where that white semi is at right now. She got in your truck and moved it. >> She got in my truck. She I I lift it off. No, my bad. Um, she reversed it and then drove it right ahead into the into this grab metal place. And then by then I say that she's moving my truck. So I'm already running. She's running back. She passed by me. I clo I close the gate. She drove to the gate. Uh, she hit the gate. I >> With your truck. >> No, no. With her car. >> With her car. >> She left my truck over there so she could go with her car. Um, obviously I closed the gate. She hit the gate. She tried hitting the gate twice. She opened the door. She got out with the pupp and was just I'm right there between the gate. And I didn't close the gate all the way. >> According to the employees, she had slipped in right behind them when they were not paying attention, showing that she had planned it in advance. But by their account, what she did inside the impound lot was anything but discreet. >> When she sees that my truck is there, she runs my truck. >> Okay. >> She backs it up, hooks it in the scrap metal place. So while she's doing that, I'm running. I I recently broke my leg. So I I run like >> So I'm like bumping over here. >> As I'm running to the gate, she runs back. >> Well, I close the gate. >> Yeah. >> So she she get back in her car. She runs. She hits the gate twice >> with the blue Honda. >> No, with the the back. Um but I'm I'm standing between the fence and the gate holding like this. Yeah. >> So I'm totally here. So she opens her driver's side, goes like this, and just press she prefers things. >> Okay. Um, did you give her I know. Stupid. Did you give her permission against your car? >> Did you give her permission to privacy you? >> You want to press charges for both? >> Yes. >> Okay. Um, did she pay for her car to get removed here? >> She never went to the office from my understanding. >> Okay. Um, can you show me which one's her car? >> Uh, it should be. >> Back to the suspect. She showed not a hint of guilt on her face and even seemed strangely proud of what she had done. >> Hey, what's going on, man? Monster pass OPD. >> Um, your memory from over there. So, from where? >> Oh, back there. >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. All right. So, I'm going to just read your rights. Just give me a verbal yes or no. Um, if you don't want to talk to me, you don't have to talk to me. I'm just going to ask you some questions. However, they it could be incriminating questions. Okay. So, so fill me in. What What happened? Okay. >> How did it escalate to this point? You know, >> because I was at apartments moving out. >> You're going where? >> I was at apartment >> moving out my stuff out the apartment like moving out. Okay. >> So, I parked the car and back then, open up the trunk, then was putting the bags, >> okay, >> back and forth. But the bags were on the ground. So, they came and closed the trunk and took the car. >> Okay. >> The major people sitting outside. I said, "Why y'all let them take my car?" They was like, "They weren't supposed to touch your car." So they called the company and was like, "Um, can y'all bring the car back if y'all apartment?" They said, "No." So I said, "Okay." So they was like, "Well, you can't get your car because people only get it back." So the rental car people called and was like, "She can get it back. Just let she allowed to get it back." He told me, "Oh, no. They said you can only get your stuff out." So I called the rental car people. They said no. He told us that it's their policy and they not giving nobody back the car but I said, "Okay, well I just need my stuff." From her story, she also admitted that she had entered the impound lot on her own. Yet, she still tried to avoid the fact that she intended to take the car, even beginning to justify why she was facing such accusations. >> Okay. >> So, I didn't go over there. I was pressing the button. So, I see the my car. So, I tried to get my stuff. >> You're pressing what button? >> The key. >> Oh, okay. Okay. >> So, to see if the car was even here. >> Yeah. >> So, I see the car was there. So, I went over there and it was another man in his car. another man in his car was blocking the um thing. So I went inside the car and got my bag out. So he came back and was like, "Oh, you moved my car and cut off my car and then ran and then shut me in the gate." I said, "I was just trying to get in my bag." He was like, "Oh, no way. You going to go to um you going to go to jail for trespass and all the other side. I just wanted my bag." >> Where were you at? Were you inside already in the lot? >> Yeah. Okay. He was the gate was open. >> So he was like, "Oh, you going to go to jail for trespassing." I said, "I just needed my stuff." And I was like, "I already um talked to the people. They said I can just come and get my stuff." He was like, "No, you got to go um to somebody else like I guess the office." And I was like, "Well, I tried to talk to somebody." And he told me to get the >> I really don't want to deal with y'all. I just want to get my stuff. Yeah. >> And he was like, "Well, you're not getting nothing really." So they started slamming the game. >> The bag with the the money in there. Okay. Okay. >> So he was like, "You're not getting nothing really, so you can put all the stuff back." So I was like, "Well, I just want my bag." And he was like, "Well, you got your license." I said, "Yes, in the bag." So the other man came back that told me to get away. He said, "Don't give her [ __ ] Don't give her nothing." So I said, "Okay, I'm not going to play this game with y'all." Well, I'm just going to go. They said, "You're not going to go." So they start closing me in the gate. So I med I did mace um the man that was holding me the gate. Okay. >> The man pulled out a gun and put it in my face and was like, "Get back." Or some like, "Why you got this gun in my face?" >> Yeah. >> He was like, "Oh, because you trespassing." I said, "But why you got a gun in my face?" >> The woman was charged with battery and burglary. Trying to take matters into your own hands can turn a personal dispute into criminal charges, proving that force and reckless choices only make the consequences worse. >> Listen to me. >> On my law, on my way. >> I did everything that told him to do. He going to manhandle me. >> Stand up for me. >> Man, you suck. >> Don't let him touch. Please don't let him >> I don't want him to touch me. On June 23rd, 2025, police were dispatched to Bosau after receiving reports of three suspects involved in shoplifting. Upon arrival, the suspects were still in the parking lot, completely unaware of the unfolding situation. >> Excuse me, sir. >> Hi, I'm officer I'm officer SC. I'm with the Eaton Town Police. >> I need I need her backpack. I need all this stuff in the car. >> Just to let you know, since it's being recorded, okay. Hello. Nothing of his. >> You don't have anything of his? >> No, I'm not. I don't. >> Okay. All right. All right. We're going to figure it out. >> You see it? >> Can I see the bag? >> Can he see the bag? >> And there was like a big blue uh chair that you had slung over your shoulder. Where's that? >> Got a lot of pills in here. >> Whatever's yours. Just find yours and take what's yours. >> Exactly. >> All right. I got plenty of plans. The lady I sit there and tell you we need to register and pay for this [ __ ] >> Guys, guys, guys. All right. We called here. We're going to figure this out. >> We're going to figure it out. Okay. We're not here to give you a hard time. We're just going to give >> us a hard time. >> No, we are not giving you >> I've been nothing but polite to you, man. >> The woman's arrival escalated the situation, forcing the officers to work hard to calm everyone present, though their efforts seemed largely ineffective. >> This profile though, I'm stealing something bugging, bro. >> We're going to figure it out. >> My job is to my job is to protect you and make sure that everything is correct. Okay? So, let me just take care of it and if he's wrong, we'll determine that. Okay. >> All right. A friend of mine just came picked me up. >> That's fine. Guys, do you have ID with you? Does everyone have ID? >> Do you have ID with you, sir? >> I got ID. >> Okay. Can I see your ID, please, sir? >> You want to see my ID? >> You're invol You're involved in a You're involved in the a shopping? >> I'm not involved in nothing. I'm with I'm not involved in nothing, bro. Sir, I'm not sir. Sir, listen to me, >> sir. I know my law. I know my rights. >> I know my rights. I came to the store. I bought something. I bought what I bought. I'm not involved in nothing. I don't have to give my name. If you want to go further with that, you can. I don't I got Look, I got a big ID on me. >> Yeah. >> It's right here. >> Okay. So, sir, listen. >> I got big idea on me. I'm not I ain't hiding nothing. Hold on. >> Yeah. I I didn't >> I know. I got big money on me. >> All right. So, listen. I I didn't accuse you of anything. Okay. I'm investigating the crime. I got I got money right here. >> I don't have to steal. That's profiling, bro. That was >> the man tried to justify himself by showing the money he had, but of course that offered no excuse, nor did the woman's subsequent statements. >> Um, so he's going to determine how >> but he said we took out and there is the book bag. He went through the book bag. Nothing's in the book bag. Sean stuff coming from the police point of view. They called us. We're just here to try to figure out what's going on. >> I understand. >> So we're going to see what >> you can talk to, >> ma'am. So just get my Where's my phone? >> Ooh, I dropped my phone. >> We're trying not to make this a big deal. >> All three of them for what? >> She walked out. The uh woman with the yellow shirt walked out of the comforter. >> I didn't know honestly. I just >> I watched you do it. >> Yeah, but I didn't know it was >> You watched them tried to stop her in a bag and then >> No, she didn't. >> No, she did not. >> No, she did not. For what? >> Thank you. >> Well, we're going to figure this all out. So, >> why am I stepping out the car for? >> Because it's an active investigation. You might be placed under arrest. We don't know yet. >> I'm not put I'm wear >> anything else. >> She took this blue bag. >> Yeah, I did. >> She put that cup was mine. To clarify, the woman confidently denied any wrongdoing because she had used the blue bag to steal, but then left it inside the store before exiting. This gave her the confidence to challenge the officer so boldly. >> But I never came out the store with that. >> That stuff I never walked out the store with. >> He had this in his bag and she had all this. >> But I never walked out the store with that [ __ ] >> All right. >> At all. >> I didn't walk out another store with none of that. >> This was in his bag. Okay. But we didn't go through the We didn't go through the bag just yet. He just He just forfeited that to us, >> right? >> Okay. >> And this was in this black bag. >> I never had that. Uh the >> Yes, I did take the three bags of chips. >> Bag. >> Okay. >> She picked this up out of the display, put it right over her shoulder. They walked out. You put this concealed it. >> That's when I already used >> and the girl in the shirt picked this up off the selling floor and walked out with it. >> Okay. All right. >> But it never came out the store. >> My point is it never came out the store. >> What? >> I stopped you outside the store. >> It didn't come out the store. It never moved out that door. >> Tell the truth. >> The woman was even certain about a black bag that hadn't left the store. Clearly aware of the stolen items inside. It seems she had a keen understanding of what legally constituted stealing. >> All right. >> Once you walk out that door, then you're stealing. >> Sure. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> All right. Uh guys, listen. Everyone, uh you're stealing that. >> Guys, listen. You're being placed under arrest for shoplifting. Okay. >> Stop. >> Nothing walked out that door. >> You're being placed under arrest for shoplifting. >> I never got back. >> I'm telling you. Just put your hands behind your back. It's going to place. >> I know you're not. I know you're not. I will take care of you. >> Bring this. >> Let her lock. >> First of all, do not tell me. >> She has to lock her in. >> Right now. >> Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> Let me just say I am. Please don't grab me. I said I will. >> Put your hands behind your back right now. Turn around. >> All right. Can I Can I turn around? >> Turn around. >> Let me go then. Turn around. >> Let me go. I know the law. >> Turn around. >> I know the law. Turn around and I'll turn around. >> Turn around. >> Be nice. >> Turn around right now. >> Be nice. >> Turn around. >> Be nice. Don't grab me. >> Don't. >> Why is he doing >> Why is he doing that? I didn't do nothing to him. >> Relax. >> I didn't do nothing. >> Relax. >> Relax. Camera was showing. >> Turn around. Relax. >> Stop resisting. >> I'm not resisting. I'm not doing nothing. But you >> I'm not even resisting. I'm just scanning. >> Put your hands behind your back. Put your hands on. >> When I tell you to do something, you got it. >> You It's up to me. You're hurting me. >> You're hurting me. >> Don't move. >> Don't hurt me. >> Don't move. got hurt. Stop pushing me. She's not listening to me. I'm not pushing you. >> Yes, you are. Calm down. Calm down. >> She swatted the officer's hand when they tried to detain her. Yet immediately afterward, she positioned herself as the victim. Acting as if she hadn't resisted at all. >> Try as hell. I didn't resist. >> I know you didn't resist. >> I didn't resist. >> I saw that, sister. >> I didn't resist. Get the my purse. You ain't ask. >> You ain't ask. Now get out my purse. >> Just be silent. You ain't ask. >> Be silent. >> Get out my purse. You didn't ask. >> Be silent. >> Just help. >> And I didn't resist. >> I didn't resist. >> And you know I didn't resist. Why you taking my apart? >> Ma'am, face the car. Don't move. >> No, you face the car. >> Don't resist. You're lying. [clears throat] >> Kick open your legs. >> Ma'am, kick open your legs for me. >> They're open. They're open. >> They're open. My legs are open. I'm not going to spread them as wide as you want. I ain't got no gun or nothing. I don't I'm not violent. I'm not a violent person at all. >> Okay. >> Ask anybody about can I get my glasses off the ground? >> Right there. >> Right there. >> Right there. >> Thank you. >> Can I get my purse? >> Bring it over with us. It's all coming back with us. Come on. >> I want my purse. >> Go get it. >> One might think she would start cooperating at this point, but no. She was completely different from the other suspects. fully aware of how to make things difficult for the officers and acted as if she had every right to do so. >> Stop pulling me. Stop. >> Well, then just walk. >> I'm walking. But he's pulling me. >> Walk in a straight line. >> Why you got to pull? >> Walk. You got nothing. >> What are you reaching for? >> I have nothing. >> What are you reaching for? >> [ __ ] out of here. >> Stay right there. Stop. >> Get off me. I have nothing. I have nothing. Officer, I told him I have nothing and I have nothing. Get off me. Get the off me. Get off me. I have nothing. >> Get in the car. >> I say I have nothing. >> Get in the car. >> Can you not pull my arm? >> Get in the car. >> Thank you. I will. Can I get up? I can't get in the car like this. >> I'm 25 years old. Who the you think you pulling on? and pushing on. Don't push me. Don't push me. >> Get in the car. >> Don't push me. >> You are. >> Even back at the police station, her rage remained intense. Peach, I did nothing. Completely contradicted by the stream of insults she hurled. >> I did everything that told me to do and he going to manhandle me. >> Ma'am, stand up for me. >> Man, you suck. [laughter] >> Don't let him touch. Please don't let him >> I don't want him to touch me. >> Ma'am, stand up. >> Don't let him touch me. >> Stand up. You can't. I don't want him bothering me, touching me. He can't handle me enough. >> All three suspects were charged with shoplifting. Meanwhile, this woman also was charged with resisting arrest. Trying to hide theft and challenge the police only makes things worse. All three suspects refused to cooperate, but surveillance video proved the truth beyond doubt.
