Do you Can you give her a description to me? What she look like? >> She had a uniform. >> She had a uniform >> that they wear there. >> She Do you remember what her uniform looked like? >> No. >> Okay. All right. That's okay. Do you remember what she looked like? >> When she was young. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Cute. >> Okay. >> She opened the truck door. So, she opened the truck door and then grabbed your purse. >> Okay. >> At the hospital, the victim stated that an employee who appeared very friendly had helped her to the car, but suddenly opened the door, grabbed her purse, and ran away. Shortly after, police reviewed camera footage showing the suspect struggling with the elderly woman, causing her to fall to the ground. >> Sir, >> I didn't rob nobody. Sir, can I call can I call my lawyer or somebody when you get to jail? You can't set insurance. Put your thumbs up towards the back. Okay. >> Got out in robbery. Like this is crazy. Police identified the suspect as 21-year-old Walmart worker Latrea Johnson. Handcuffed within seconds, the suspect immediately played the victim, claiming innocence and insisting she was being racially discriminated against. >> My god. Oh my god. I didn't do anything. She said my Listen, do you have anything illegal on you? Any kind of drugs? Any contraband weapons? Anything like that? >> Yes, sir. I do. >> What do you have on you? >> Just marijuana. Just marijuana. Do you just not have a card for it? >> I don't have it on me. >> But you do have a card. >> Okay. Anything else like any kind of needles or meth? Anything like that? >> Where's Where's the marijuana? Just so I can put this in my bag. Yeah. I'm sorry. Can I please call somebody like >> Yeah. Whenever you get to the station, they'll give you some. >> Sir, is this right? Like she can literally put I She took my my cell phone, my cellular device. Is this even >> Well, you'll get to whenever they get to the station, you'll get you'll get you'll have an opportunity to tell an officer everything you want to say. >> This is crazy, Joe. Just because she white and I'm black. I got to go to jail. >> That has no >> I got to go to jail. This exactly what it looks like. Like I She took my phone from me. She took my phone. >> Oh my god. >> The suspect appeared panicked, crying uncontrollably as she admitted possessing marijuana. At the police station, she began crafting a seemingly convincing story, claiming the elderly victim was actually the one to blame. >> It tells you, you know, if when your phone goes a certain distance, you know, it rings beats or whatever. So, I'm like, it's still in the bathroom. So, I'm looking for it. And as I get up, you know, as I'm checking, I'm like, um, you know, I'm I'm not asking her. I'm just looking and I'm like talking to her >> cuz I just know she we helping. We going all around like find her car, find her car. And I'm like, "Ma'am, my money's not in my thing." I'm like, "Um, I mean, I don't mind buying your items or whatever, but I'm literally homeless. I was just going to help you. You said you didn't want it no more, so can I just have my money back?" First, she was going to give it to me, then she said she wasn't. So me being me, I hug. Well, we hugged and I grabbed her purse. I'm like, "This is I just need my money. Can I get my money?" She first she was going like she was willing to give it to me and then she just was like, "Give me my purse. I'm not giving you my money. I'm It's my money." She just kept saying, "This my money. I'm not giving you a [ __ ] a [ __ ] thing." And this and I'm like, "Ma'am, this is I just I see my money in the back of your wallet right there. That's my money." It was like $60 something dollar. I'm like, "This is my money right here, ma'am. I'm homeless. I was trying to help you out. Like, can I just get my money back?" She didn't want to give it back. So, I took it back and I had my phone already, you know, and it fell out. So, I'm like, "Yeah, I It fell out and she fell. That's what happened. She fell out. It fell. Everything fell out and it we tussling like kind of, you know, over the wallet. I mean, over the purse and she fell." And I helped her up. I'm like, "Ma'am, get up. Come on. get up. I'm going to call the police on you. She like, no, no, just give me my purse. So, I'm like, ma'am, get up. She like, no, just get in my purse. Just get in my purse. And I'm like, I'm going to just call the police. So, instead of me calling, well, I wasn't on the phone with the police. I was telling her I want to call the police. So, I'm as I'm m I'm mad by this time. So, I threw her purse. Okay. Johnson tried to defend herself with a tangled story, claiming the elderly victim took her phone and money. But could an old woman really do what she described? >> This is your chance to tell me the truth. >> A right hand, >> so I see you going out the lawn and garden. Okay. And I see you go out the fire exit and I see you walk behind her. She's got her purse strapped around her shoulder. I see you guys walk through through the um the parking lot to the truck. Yes, sir. >> Okay. We see all that. Okay. >> We were talking about all the >> right. I see that. Okay. Then I see you get to the truck. Here's my issue. >> Yes, sir. >> When I see you walk back, >> I was running >> and you have her purse. >> Yes, I did. Yes, I know. I said that. I said I had a >> No, you didn't. I just asked you if you just took your belongings. You took her purse. >> Well, well, I said in the middle of before you asked me that, I said I took her purse. I took my Well, I took my belongings. threw her purse everywhere. >> Okay. And where'd you throw her purse at? >> I just threw it. I was mad. I honestly don't know. I was just throwing stuff. I was just throwing stuff. I don't know. >> So, I see you throw it into a trash can. >> Yes. >> Okay. She's got She has got a pretty big size wound at the back of her head. >> I know. I'm >> Okay. And And you And you left and you throw her purse into a trash. Okay. With her phone in it. Yeah. >> Okay. So, let's let's get real. >> I swear to God. >> Let's get real. >> I swear to God. >> When pressed for details, she kept changing her story, admitting, denying, then blaming the elderly victim. Even after officers confirmed they had seen the evidence. >> So, I'm helping her find her car. When I help her find her car, we get to the car, I'm looking like we still try like being nice to each other. We She tell me about her interiors, her car, all that. And I'm letting her. And at the end of the discussion, I'm like, "Ma'am, can I can I get my can I get my money back? Like, we can hug about it." We even hugged and everything. I'm like, "We can hug about it. I'm not going I'm not going to, you know, hold, you know, be accountable. I know you kind of elderly, all that." So, she laughing and she's smiling. And then I got my money back. I I shouldn't have grabbed it out of We shouldn't have been touching like that. I shouldn't have made her fall, but I got my money back. And I was mad cuz she got said nick dis all type. She got the cust cussing me out. So instead of me giving her a purse back, I just ran off with it and I just threw everything everywhere or not through what's the name of the trash. >> In desperation, the excuse of racism became the only thing Johnson could cling to, only deepening her shame. In the end, Johnson was charged with first-degree robbery, aggravate, and possession of a controlled substance after officers found nearly 23 in her bag. No excuse can justify cruelty. Once you choose violence and lies, the law will strip away every mask you hide next. Watch how a 7-Eleven turns into a crazy circus stage in just one night. >> Out. On August 25th, 2023, police quickly responded to a report from a 7-Eleven in Moran County where a former employee nicknamed Marijuana Aisha returned, stole items, and acted like he owned the register, turning the scene into pure chaos. >> She has to be a clean she had behind the counter stealing stuff. She has her. >> Okay. Okay. Take everything out your pockets. Put it on the counter. >> Aisha, please take it out. >> Officer. Aisha, take it out. Alisha, >> put everything on your in your pockets on the counter. >> Hey, everything out your pockets on the counter, please. >> Can I have to? >> Okay. Let me see those. >> All right. So, and I asked him to give them to me and he rejected it. So, why am I >> Everything out of your pockets on the counter >> give me an Aisha. When officers arrived, they found Aisha arguing stubbornly, refusing to put the items down as ordered. Her defiance making the atmosphere grow increasingly tense. >> Our situation, >> what would you like to be called? >> I would like to be called me. >> Me? Okay, let's go out to my car, please. I really don't want to take you to the ground in the store. >> You don't need to. >> Okay, let's go. >> You don't need to touch me either. >> Come on. Drop the pot on the ground here. >> Put the pot on the ground. >> Here. >> Put the pot on the ground. Give me >> I will punch you in the face. >> If you punch me in the face, you will get tased. Put the pot on the ground. Put the pot on the ground. I am not playing with you. >> I noticed. >> I am not playing games with you. >> And I noticed. >> Give me the pot. You're about to get tased if you will stop. >> I suggested you stop. >> Would you stop? I suggest you just call up the cops. >> Put your hands behind your back now. >> Why are you doing this? >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Why? >> Are you sure you're about to get tased? >> You told me I wasn't being arrested in there. >> You're about to get tased. >> You told me I was Stop right now. >> Give me the pot. >> You told me I wasn't being arrested in there. >> Keep it clear. Tas me. >> Back up right now. >> I need an answer. >> Everything out of your pockets. >> You told me I wasn't being tased. Clearly, before being escorted out, she was caught with a bag full of stolen items, clutching a potted plant-like treasure and even threatened to attack an officer. Arrogance fit for a self-proclaimed queen of 711. >> Hey, you told me I wasn't being arrested. Why are you threatening to tase me? >> Get down the ground right now. >> Here you got one a taser. She's not cooperating. >> She's sick. Don't taser her. She's sick. >> Put Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> Turn around. >> Turn around. Put your hands behind your back right now. >> Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. You're going to get tased. >> Sir, I give to my brain. >> Turn around. You're going to get tased. >> Either you can work on me or you're going to get tased. >> Yeah. >> Are you going to work on me or not? >> I'm working with you, Aisha. The suspect showed no fear, defying every warning. With eyes locked and body tensed as if ready to strike, tension exploded. Officers had no choice but to move in. >> I'm not playing games because you're not listening to what I'm telling you to do. >> Why are you threatening? >> Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> Aisha, listen. Aisha. Aisha. 66. >> Cut it out now. >> Aisha, roll over. >> I said he wants the girl. You have to tase her. >> She's fighting me. >> Aisha, cut it out now. >> Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> I'll turn around now. >> 66201. [Applause] Aisha, back up now. >> Back up. >> 110. Can you get some water in her eyes at least before you drive off? >> Unbelievable. She seemed bulletproof, completely immune to both taser and pepper spray. The one-on-one struggle had officers powerless, forced to call backup. Luckily, she finally gave in or they'd still be wrestling her. >> Police in trouble with police brutality and all type of stuff. >> I gave her so many chances. >> You at least gave us my shoulders. >> Get in car now. >> Your shoulders what? My shoulders are hurting. Get in the car. Put the handcuffs in front of me. >> Get in the car now. My shoulders are hurting. >> I don't care. She had every opportunity to do what I told her to do. Get in the car. In the car now. >> Put the handcuffs in front of me. >> No, I cannot hurting me. >> Get in the car. >> The drama didn't end there. Aisha was finally arrested after repeated defiance, but her aunt kept blaming officers for brutality and spouting religious ramblings, leaving officers shaking their heads. >> Get in the car now. >> In Jesus name. In Jesus name. In Jesus name. In Jesus name. >> Can you stop? Please. Please. >> She need help. >> Well then she should have listened to me. >> I gave her every option I could to >> Yeah. >> Ma'am. Come here. You have pepper spray all over you. >> You have pepper spray all over you. >> You do. >> You have pepper spray all over you. >> Holy Spirit will cover me. >> The Holy Spirit will cover me. >> Jesus is not going to take the pepper spray off. They'll take it away. He's my savior. >> I get that. >> The truth only emerged later when they returned to the store for staff statements. >> I called her, told her what was happening. She called her auntie. So the auntie comes like 10 minutes later. 10 minutes later try to get get her under control. Help. >> Well, at what point did she come behind the counter? So she runs back here to grab cigarettes. How many does she grab? >> She grabbed these, two of these, and one of these. And then it was a pack right here. Four total. >> Yeah, four total. She goes back from a pack of cigarettes. walk back there and lights it on the grill. >> She put a cigarette on the grill. >> Yeah, it's a literal dog. And I was like, "Yo, you got to stop it." >> Everyone confirmed she used to work there. Aisha walked in like she still owned the place, singing and spreading items everywhere, then grabbed four packs of cigarettes and lit one on the grill. A smoke and fire spectacle no one expected. >> Call your mom and call anybody. >> I said to stop now trying to >> get your hands off of her. Please over here fight and argue with me and my daughter. >> Don't let it escalate. Please don't escalate it. Don't escalate. Don't. Please. In Jesus name. >> Go in your car. >> Y >> because thousand people are here you need to respect. Yeah. What's the problem? Okay. Outside the store, the suspect's relatives argued and shouted, turning the scene into a midnight Florida flea market, where chaos seemed to be the local specialty. >> I don't get the right to have my wife and I'm going to come in. >> Okay. Why you so mad? Because he all sleep. No, that's >> I already name it. I already called her earlier. She said she was going to sleep. So I was like, "Nobody mess with her." And then went ahead and called her and then white Stephie mad cuz Stephanie your manager. She's here. I was just talking to my girl. >> Have you What have you been diagnosed with? Do you know? I was diagnosed with um >> that's that's the only thing that's what I was diagnosed with. >> Also telling me to go see a psychologist. >> Okay. >> Um I haven't been able to find one because I guess my insurance doesn't cover the one that I went to go see. I have to pay for that out of pocket. But >> So you haven't done that yet? >> I haven't gotten a job. Um, >> in the end, Aisha was charged with theft, petty theft from the counter, and resisting law enforcement. She faced the consequences of her reckless actions under the law. No matter any illness or condition, breaking it carries consequences, and excuses will not shield anyone from being held fully responsible. Next came the embarrassing moment when they were caught red-handed by the police and got a serious scolding. >> What's up? The people in Zara think you all took some stuff or something like that. >> Never mind. literally save me like that right there with you. Just drop my camera, man. Stop. >> On April 12th, 2025, the police responded to a retail theft at Zara Beachwood Place Mall. After investigating, they discovered that this group's crimes went far beyond petty theft, involving multiple more serious offenses. Here's how it unfolded. >> How are you? Good. Good. What's up? Somebody took some stuff, it sounds like. Yeah, >> they got out there looking to see if we can find what I just need to know. Are you going to sign a criminal charges and uh All right, I'm going to help them look at them. >> Okay, >> thank you. I have this I of everything that they stole. >> Oh, okay. >> I don't know. >> You were just able to tell on camera or something like that. >> Um, so we have a device that tells us every time something leaves our store, >> it gives us the pictures of what it is and the time. >> Okay. So, if you want, you could take a picture. It's these items. I think I just had somebody steal two items just a second ago. >> Oh, no kidding. Wow. >> Yeah, but I I missed them. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Let me take a picture of it. Yep. >> Oh, no kidding. >> Okay. So, it might help you if you like. >> All right. And it was a what they said blonde wig. Two black females. One in a blonde wig. >> Mhm. And there was how many um black males? >> Okay. All right. We can't find them. >> Okay. Zara employees confirmed that two female suspects, one wearing a blonde wig, along with two men, had stolen merchandise. The store had evidence and the officer began tracking the area, locating the suspects within minutes. What's up? Wonder what's up. The people in Z thinking all took some stuff or something like that. They're like they're like real mad about it. If you got anything on you, that's their property. It's >> from Zara. >> We didn't say [ __ ] We didn't tell you what they're talking about. I guess they got this device that knows like when someone leaves out with property being paid for. >> Did you have anything that looks like that if I >> Oh, no. Uh-uh. >> Okay. You mind if we double chase it in there? You mind? >> No, we put everything back. I would go in there and show you. >> I didn't take We didn't take nothing, sir. >> I tend to believe honest people. I'm just trying to figure out why they're trying to say. >> I don't know. We can go in there. Look. I swear that would go back to >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, you did not take nothing. I ain't touching nothing. Do you mind if we get in your lunch? >> Yeah, they're pretty. Yeah, that's what they said. >> I just met I don't know. >> No, really? >> No, I put it back. I don't know. Do you remember? >> I never touched that. I was going to find >> Okay. So, you were messing with this product and you put it back on. >> No. No. I'm being honest. >> Okay. >> Of course, no one admitted to stealing. The female suspect and her accompllices acted calm, but the more they tried to defend themselves, the more criminal mistakes they revealed. Do you mind if we look in there and see if there's a winner? No. >> No. >> Well, if if they're alleging it, then we have probable cause to search your bag. I mean, we all >> I mean, you're you're telling us you didn't. >> How old are you? >> 17. >> This is from here. Okay. You got any ID? >> No, I don't have ID. >> You say you're 17? >> Yeah. >> Like 100%? >> Yes. Okay. >> See what they want to do? >> Where Where's the rest of >> I don't know. That's all I have. So, I'll be honest. >> All right. Whoever's got the rest of the stuff, we're trying to do it all like for real. Like, >> okay. I'm just trying to like avoid them doing too much with like if we give it back, they might be like, "Oh, here." >> Yeah. So if there's like literally anything on on you anything in your bag there you might look in there. They might be trying to do that. Is that right there? >> The police suspected the suspects were lying. The deeper they investigated, the more evidence emerged. Yet the suspects kept making excuses, turning this into far more than a simple arrest. >> How old are you? 31. And you're 17. >> You got a piece of paper. I'll just write down my pad on the car. You have no idea. What's your social security number? >> I don't know my social. >> What's your first name? Joseph. >> And this is 100% like everything. >> Yeah. Ohio. >> Okay. I just want to go back. >> What's your birthday? May 24th, 1994. >> Ever have an ID card in Ohio or driver's license? >> No. >> Nothing in Ohio? No. >> You ever been arrested? >> No. >> What about you? You >> The suspects kept giving conflicting info on their names, ages, and social security numbers. Some had prior warrants and carried stolen items, forcing police to handcuff them immediately. >> All right. All right. You're being detained. Put your hands behind your back. Okay. Okay. Put Put your cell phone away. >> I can I can tell you what my name is. >> I've asked you several times and you're playing games. >> You have warrants for your arrest? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> All right. That's not him. I've got him. What are you What are you reaching for? >> God damn. >> What is this? >> My AirPods. What the [ __ ] Get out, please. >> Listen, man. You got two points for your Russian. You're lying about who you are. Okay. Red's going to win. >> You got two. Red's going to win, but you're going to get You have charges with us. >> Okay. That's nothing else. That's a knife. >> That's Why do you keep That's not a knife. You just took it out my pocket. >> Yeah. It's my key ring. >> You turn. You know what I mean? You turn. >> I'm sorry. What is that? >> It's my It's my key. >> No. A bottle of beer opener. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. >> Yeah. The feel of it. >> No, it just could be one of those. Uh uh take the bag. >> That's for beer. Look at the top of it. That's for beer. >> Well, it would have magnets on it. >> That's But that's where I bought it from stand right right over here. >> The suspects kept lying and police found more stolen tools in a sharp object showing their calculated preparation. >> You don't want >> Yeah. So they said video exists. We can't look at it though until they like lost prevention sensitive. He sounds like falsification at a minimum. Is that what happened? Okay. And they're 100% willing to to prosecute. Okay. Uh he's got warrants. >> Oh tools here. >> Oh yeah. Take the magnet. This is a magnet. This is the hook here. And that magnet is right here. >> So there will be video one of the employees when the system went off. when the dust system went off, looked up and saw that they were exiting at that time. And these are the two that had the property on their person. Uh we haven't identified her, but she's back anyway, right? >> Yeah. >> How you stealing all right there? My camera, man. Stop. My phone. >> You got my phone. >> Where's my phone? I need my phone. >> All right. Can I call my mom? >> No. Where's my phone? >> In there. >> After a thorough investigation, the suspects were arrested for theft, falsifying information, and possession of criminal tools. They now face jail time, fines, and restitution for the stolen items. No excuses or tricks can bypass the law. Everyone is held accountable. Next, watch this pregnant marathoner show off her while getting caught red-handed by the police. >> Stop reaching. >> Stop reaching. Get out of the car. >> Grab me. I'm scared. I'm 7 months pregnant. >> On August 18th, 2025 in Palm Coast, Florida, police responded to a theft at a local smoke shop. The suspect fled in a silver Mazda, sparking a chase and an immediate order to stop. Here's what happened next. >> She has a felony warrant out of Vermont. It's violation of probation reference, I believe, robbery. >> Hey, out of the car. Out of the car. >> I'm coming. >> Put it in park. >> I am. I'm coming. >> Put it in park. Step out. >> I will. Just a second. Please >> stop reaching. I'm not. >> Stop reaching. Get out of the car. >> Don't grab me. I'm scared. >> Okay. Get out of the car. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Please. I need to tell my partner. >> Stop. No. Put your hands behind your back. Stop. Stop. You're going to get tased. Do you want to get tased? >> No, you don't need to do that. I want >> Okay. Please don't put >> Stop. >> Sir, please >> stop. >> The car's on and >> I know it is. Julia 30 flagger female. >> I'm 7 months pregnant. >> Okay. Well, well, you need to start listening then. >> Police ordered her out, but Taylor claimed to be 7 months pregnant to avoid arrest. When restrained, she cried, begged, and still fought back defiantly. >> Okay, this isn't your first time dealing with the police. >> What do you mean? >> What do I mean, Taylor? >> I haven't dealt with the police. >> Taylor, really? >> I just got to Vermont. I don't know anything. >> You just got to Vermont. You're in Florida. >> I'm I know. I mean, I'm from Vermont. >> Yeah. Yeah. They're in the car. >> Okay. >> I just don't want to be sick. I have water. Can I please just take them? >> What? Calm down. First of all, okay. Okay. If you're going to be sick, I can call paramedics here. >> Though she played weak, Taylor's criminal past soon surfaced. Robbery, assault, probation violation, and a warrant from Vermont. But as she was escorted to the car, she made a foolish move that added even more charges. >> I need to tell my boyfriend I'm leaving, that I'm getting taken. We >> We'll take care of that. It's unfortunate. Now you're going for escape. >> No, please. I'm just scared. Ow, my wrist. My >> Then you shouldn't have ran. >> I'm sorry. I'm scared. Anybody the police? >> I know. I'm just so scared. >> Moments later, her boyfriend stepped out, acting indifferent, even denying he knew Taylor, leaving her alone, surrounded by police. It's >> not your key. You said that's not your key. I'm the sergeant. I'm the sergeant. You said this isn't your car. We want to get the keys to the >> This isn't your car. Who was your girlfriend? >> That's not my girlfriend. >> Taylor's not not your girlfriend. >> I have no idea who who is that. >> Finally, Taylor Crowning Shield was charged with theft, resisting arrest, attempting to flee, and violating a federal warrant. Her excuses and tears couldn't save her from facing the full weight of the law. Next, let's watch this romantic couple turn Christmas into their own shoplifting holiday special. >> Hey sir, how you doing? Do me a favor. Put your hands behind your back. You're being detained. >> What? >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Food item, so I'm going to throw it out. Okay. >> On December 17th, 2022, Athens police were dispatched to a local Walmart after a couple was caught on security cameras shoplifting inside the store. Here, what's happened next? Hey. >> Hey. Come on. All right. >> Hold on. We got officers. Hey sir, how you doing? Do me a favor. Put your hands behind your back. You're being detained. >> What? >> Put your hands behind your back. >> You're being detained. >> Close. >> You got him. >> Good. The man was arrested on the spot while his female accomplice tried to run but was quickly stopped at the exit. Both were soon escorted to the security office. Talk to him. >> She's in up here. All right, >> I got him. >> Come on over here. >> The reason we're stopping you is for suspected shoplifting. So, let's go over here. >> Okay. >> This is all I got. >> I got you on camera. >> Yeah. >> Me? >> Yeah. >> Yes, you. Let's go right. Let's go up here. I'm going to the front. >> He's already been detained by an officer. >> Mr. Smith, anything that's going to pick me? >> Not just that. I was walking around >> involved 100% correct. >> Video homeless and homeless. >> Even in handcuffs, the man kept arguing. He was just wandering around and hungry. Yet officers found his clothes stuffed with stolen goods. A poor excuse that only made him look guiltier. He's >> right here. >> Yeah, there's a buggy around the corner. >> What's that? >> It's against skin. You're going to want to keep your gloves on. >> Yeah. You got anything on you? That's this. >> Like I said, >> I know you lift your shirt up. I just want to make sure. >> Go ahead. Thanks, man. What >> are you carrying on about? Closers, bro. I'm coming. >> You probably just feel strike cuz you have all in your back. >> You're pregnant? >> Yes, sir. >> Police recovered a pile of stolen goods hidden on the man while his partner tried using a pregnancy excuse to avoid arrest. But with hundreds of dollars in stolen items, there was no sympathy left. and having these rights of mind. Do you wish to talk to us now? >> I'm saying can't be my husband. >> Okay. Well, I just need a yes or no if you want to talk to them. >> Is that a yes? >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. So, obviously we're out here for, you know, a call for reported shoplifting because I understand. I hear what you're saying, but you know, there's a difference between you just being present in the store and cooperating with him. Okay. At any point, uh, did you all come up here to shoplift? We had food stamps. He supposed to be coming up here and get some water cuz the medicine take my asthma. I have to have water. >> Mhm. >> We on the urge of moving cuz she's going to his mom house. >> Y'all already search. No lights on. >> I have not touched that yet. >> You know what I'm saying? >> While officers were filing the report, a strange woman walked in with a dog, causing chaos and forcing police to deal with yet another problem. Surveillance later showed she'd hidden items under her coat and her dog had attacked the guard. How many convictions you think? >> Do you know if Robin guard from here? >> Four. Okay. >> Hey, do you know if Rob from here? >> Wish she was, but I haven't had a good reason to yet again. >> Fair enough. >> All right. Why don't she's >> participating in business? That's fine. >> I should have had her barred when we took our one yard across the street, but they didn't do it that >> lobster tail. She pays for her stuff. So, as long as she pays for her stuff and keep feeds her mouth shut, I don't care. >> I had to tell her she can't bring her dog in here anymore cuz she can't control it. >> She usually has a dog with her, but he barks and snaps at everybody who walks by her. So, I don't know what she's done with her or she had two dogs at the beginning of the year. From what I understood, they're dead. >> Probably just put them under her coach. Came in here with a dog. >> Yeah, I hate her. We've had words many times. >> Okay. >> So, just waiting for her to snap one more time, then we'll have her. >> You're right. She had it hidden under her jacket. >> I should listen. Please fine. Uh >> yeah, I don't need you to finish. >> All I need No, I got to go out here to >> After nearly 20 minutes as the couple showed signs of being high, police gathered enough evidence with hundreds of dollars in stolen goods, leaving them no room to argue. You mean like you would fight? Say you saying you never got caught saying you never >> No, I'm saying no. I want >> I asked you how many shopies you had. You said I'm fight like [Music] >> Huh? >> Yeah. >> But he had that tag. He said it was cigarettes. >> There's something else. >> Let's get you all on to the jail. You're being arrested for shoplifting. Okay. Is this his wallet? >> Yeah. There's >> lawyers. >> No. So, that that's actually against county policy and uh none of us are getting fired for your convenience, ma'am. >> I'm going to throw it out. Okay. >> The couple was caught with hundreds in stolen goods, resisting arrest, and a long criminal history. Felony charges and a storeband serve as a harsh lesson for reckless greed. Next, meet the nurse who looked down on the elderly and confidently stole their belongings. >> Going to need a different story. >> It's light around here. >> I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. On August 14th, 2024, officers were dispatched to an elderly home after reports of multiple thefts, including money, checks. Here is the series of events leading up to the nurse's arrest. >> Hello. How you doing? How much yourself? >> Not bad. >> Yeah. Holly Holly. Holly. >> So, this is Anna. She's >> officers met the manager and the elderly resident who filed the report, >> but early testimonies made it seem like a simple case of forgetfulness. [Music] You can hear >> Hey, how you doing? >> Nice to meet you. >> Nice to meet you. >> All right, so I'm in >> when I first moved in or did >> Yeah, when she first moved in. >> How long has she lived here? >> Four. Have you talked to her yet? >> Yeah, I talked to her. >> Okay. I was saying >> so I was just comparing everybody's stories and everybody's giving me a different story. >> It's light that around here. >> All right. All right. No problem. I appreciate your time. >> I know. I'm glad. >> Yeah. >> Hello. >> Hello. And you are >> Mackenzie. I'm the health and wellness director. >> I got to list what she told me she's missing. >> Yeah, that's more than welcome to file a police report if she wanted to. So what? >> Cuz I'm kind of confused cuz everybody's giving me a different story. Every single person has given me a totally different story than her. Um what exactly has she said she is missing? Totally. >> And that >> she has $20 mill. >> Yeah. You guys don't have the kind of rampant theft going on. >> No. >> Like the other facilities. >> Okay. She she said that yesterday. give us a chance to go in there and actually help her look for it. >> At first, it was just a mix of inconsistent witness statements. But nearly a month later, on September 11th, 2024, police returned after another patient reported $75 and a checkbook missing. Despite the victim's dementia, repeated thefts raised suspicions of an inside job. >> Hey, what's up? How you doing? >> Hello. >> Emergency Lou Vanilla. >> I'll be right back. >> Yeah. I apologize to bring this to your attention. Um, Mr. Vanilla has short-term memory issues. His daughter came in on Friday when laying and she left him $75. She put it in a drawer in his room. Now, both his $75 and his checkbook, we don't know how long the checkbook's been missing. And he may have misplaced it. It may have gotten thrown away. We don't know. >> You guys already went to his room. >> We did. Mackenzie and I both. And then the next >> How many people go in and out of his room? >> We have about 20 staff. >> 20 staff. All right. Does he have access to a safe there? >> Uh, his particular room, I have to double check. I do not know. We didn't even know she had left the $75. And it's in a weird drawer. Didn't even know that little chest had a drawer. It's not obvious. I'll show you. >> Okay. It's a >> staff admitted that up to 20 people had access to each room and there were no cameras anywhere in the facility. Identifying the thief seemed impossible, forcing police to question everyone and even contact victim's families for clues. >> Molly, you look too, didn't you? You look You look for the money, too. >> Hi, how are you? Good. How are you? >> Thank you. I'm sorry you had to come back. >> No problem. >> Report. >> Okay. Are there cameras in the hallway? >> No, we don't have cameras in this building. >> No. Okay. All right. All right, I'll reach out to the daughter, but like the daughter is allowed to go in there with, you know, she come in when he's not here or anything like that. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> Yeah, we have about 20 associates. They are background screen, but you know, I can't guarantee somebody wouldn't take anything. So, we we've not seen this trend. We have people that misplaced things. Like the same day we had the money come up missing president was lost her her gold necklace, we found it. It was in her one of her little cards from her scooters. So, >> that's what we were hoping it was a $75 in the checkbook would show up. After a month of investigating the nursing home and interviewing relatives, key clues slowly began to surface. >> But I I will say my dad is also uh he's he's lost a lot of stuff and I don't want to I don't want to accuse anybody of stealing uh because I don't know what happened, but I know he's he's lost numerous things over the last year. >> Is that due to the dementia? Well, probably he lost uh TV rope, remote control. We got him cable. The next day he we come back to Jersey. He had thrown the remote control in the trash. He lost it. We had to scramble and get another one. He had lost an APM card. Um I I cancelled that. >> The truth was finally exposed. Behind the thefts was a nurse who once seemed caring and devoted. She had exploited the trust of elderly patients with dementia to steal their money and belongings. >> Hold on. This is belongs to the job. >> Okay. Do you have anything on you that can poke or stick? >> No, just my >> I'm going to have to search for you. >> Yeah. Okay. Take your legs inside. [Music] >> She's good. Going >> to face this here. >> Put your hands together like >> that's the easiest way. >> You got to stand still. Put >> this one over this way so that it doesn't Police arrested her right at work. During the search, they found several suspicious items. The nurse kept saying, "I am really sorry." But of course, only after she got caught. >> I'm sorry. >> All right. Want to have a seat in this car. Walk right here. >> I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. >> Have a seat in the back seat. >> She was charged with two serious crimes. Exploiting the elderly and grand theft within a care facility. The court sentenced her to four years in prison and one year of probation. Starting with two women confident their receipts would prove them innocent. But that illusion quickly came crashing down. >> What do you mean told you we just literally just paid? >> Stop by the bars and they didn't even pay for the chips. >> On December 3rd, 2024, officers quickly arrived at a Target store where a clever receipt switching theft had just taken place. Here's what happened next. [Music] We're going to have you come over here, too. >> We'll talk about that, but we're explaining to you right now. You're both being detained. Okay. You're not free to leave. We're going to have to get your information, figure out what's taken cuz the business told us that. So, >> no, that's bull. [Music] >> I don't know what you expect me to do. That's what they've told us. >> What do you mean told you? We just literally just paid. I got you, but not for all the items. >> Officers came face to face with two suspects as they tried to push their card out. One of them boldly claimed she'd already paid and had a receipt. >> But watch how her confidence fades the moment an employee steps in. >> We went over to customer service. >> Stop lady. >> They didn't pay for the chips. What do >> you mean we didn't pay for the chips? I have my receipt right here that she paid as well. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, she did. Nice try. >> Well, you want to go over there too? >> I do. I just saw you. Come over here. >> A Target employee pointed out they hadn't paid for several bags of items, leaving her speechless and trying to walk away, but it was already too late. >> Hey, I think you got confused about where you're free to go. Okay, you're not free to leave. Turn off back under arrest. >> For what? >> Shoplifting. >> Oh, you [ __ ] lead off the dors. Okay. All right. Both women were escorted to the store security room. Shortly after, during questioning and a search, officers uncovered multiple pieces of evidence revealing just how professional these two women really were. Is >> this your receipt? Got like three things. What's in the house? What's this receipt? >> What's this receipt? [ __ ] one. >> Which one? >> He said this one, right? >> Yeah. >> This one was good. We didn't see anything with that one. Don't forget about this one. >> That's not mine. >> It's not yours. It belongs to Target. >> Hey, what does that have to do with mine? >> Slow today, aren't they? >> No, that's literally not mine. >> Yeah, I know. It's Target belongs to their bank. That wasn't in my >> That was her bag. >> That was in her bag. It >> was in her bag. >> Officers searched their bags and found several suspicious receipts along with a pouch full of unpaid cosmetics. The suspect quickly denied owning it and blamed her friend instead. >> Why'd you guys come in today? Just needed stuff personal use. You selling it? >> Feed the kids. >> Feed the kids. >> Cuz I have no cash. I need to feed my kids. What are you going to do? Sell makeup to the kids or >> just to confirm the buyer. >> Who you selling it to? >> Who's your buyer? >> She said she has a buyer. Just whoever wants it. >> I rather just do that than sit there and actually like I said wrong, but I don't want to be sleeping around. Yeah, I do. >> And like I don't have a job. So yeah, I'm in the process of getting my identification and everything as well. She tried to justify the theft as a desperate act to support her kids, but her past crimes exposed the truth she couldn't hide. >> All right, so both of you guys are just going to be under arrest. Felony shoplifting. Um, you have a felony warrant that we're confirming right now. So, I'm just kind of want to give you guys that update >> cuz I can't lose anything that I have right now. If I do, I'm going to lose everything and I can't lose anything. And I'm not trying to be bad. I'm not trying to be bad and I'm like literally taking care of someone right now. And that's how like I get a little bit of my money instead of sitting there sleeping it on or anything like that. >> Officers determined they were repeat shoplifterss reselling stolen cosmetics. One had an active felony warrant as she was led to the car. Tears and excuses followed, but the law left no room for sympathy. In the end, both suspects were charged with felony shoplifting, possession of a controlled substance, and conspiracy to commit a felony. A bitter ending for those who tried to defend themselves with humanitarian reasons, yet chose the wrong path to survive. Next, this woman had just left prison and thought she could escape despite all those lessons. >> You were going to pay for some of them, not all of them. >> So, were you? >> No. Oh, I was going to I was going to I was going to pay for that. >> Please, Lord. Please. I don't want to go to jail. Shout, Lord. Please. Please, Lord. On May 31st, 2023, police received a call about a suspicious woman stuffing nearly $1,000 worth of clothes into her own clothing. She believed she would only pay for some of the items before leaving until officers confronted her. >> All right, ma'am. Let's put that down. Okay. >> Huh? >> I'm Officer Cornelson. Let's go ahead and put that down. Okay. >> What was I talking about? >> Set the rest of your clothes down. I'm going to talk to you over here. Okay. >> Okay. [Music] Ain't nothing on me. Okay. Everything fell. Like these are mine. I'm just going to check out. >> What shirt? >> Your the shirt that you just lifted up. >> What shirt? >> You talking about these? >> Yeah. >> All right. You're padded right here. >> Well, that's that because I had I wasn't going to steal nothing, sir. I promise you I wasn't. >> The woman claimed she had no intention of stealing anything, but her next actions disprove that claim. >> Let's put it all down and let's go talk to her here. Okay. >> Okay. Let's go. >> Sorry. I went off. >> Okay. >> Like I was >> Come on out here. >> Let's come talk. >> I'm going to check it out. Please go me. I don't want to jail. >> Okay. >> I know. I'm going to go, >> but I've already asked you twice. >> It's okay. So, >> let's just leave what we got and let's go talk over here. Okay. Is there anything else on you? >> There's a >> Oh, yeah. I'm sorry. >> I was going to say all this all I promise you. That's why I ain't went out the door yet. Like I was so scared. That's why I acting like I was looking for a phone because I like >> Anything else? >> That's it. I said I want to go to the dress. >> I want >> What? Over here. >> I said I want to go to the dress. Take everything off. >> Hey, your left butt. >> I [ __ ] I got four kids, y'all. I I can't even feel y'all. I've got >> right here. >> Huh? They're hanging >> right here. >> No, don't go. >> I'm not I wasn't right where I made my phone. I promise you I wasn't going to go out the door. That's why I was skipped by the phone. That's why I was not >> 494 to 84. >> Is that it? >> Let's see. >> Come on out here. >> 84. >> That's not That's not what we're saying. Okay. That's not what we're saying. >> Me, y'all. >> Look, that's not what we're saying. >> It seemed like a habit. This was not her first time being caught for such behavior. And though she claimed she would pay, she chose to hide the items instead of buying them openly. >> Sir, I don't want >> What were you kids? >> What were you in prison with before? >> What were you in prison for before? >> I was in prison for shoplifting, sheriff. >> Okay. And I learn I don't know why I learned my lesson. That why I really tried like acting like I was looking for a phone or whatever. You know what I'm saying? I act like a phone cuz I was so scared, y'all. I was so scared. E >> this ain't yours. >> Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. >> You were You were taking the clothes. Why? >> Huh? >> Why were you taking the clothes? >> I had like basically was my intentionally I was intentionally trying to pack something for my baby. >> You were going to pay for some of them, not all of them. >> So, were you >> No. Oh, I was going to I was going to try I was going to pay for that. At this point, no display of sympathy could win her leniency. The officers had already made their decision. >> There's stuff on me, sir. Oh, God. I did. >> Oh, God. I did. >> God, I did. Y'all, please, Lord. Please. I don't want to go to jail. Shout out, Lord. Please. Please. Lord. >> Look, I stuff out. >> There's a lot of people around. >> So, she had a bunch of merchandise in her uh >> Let's not keep yelling. There's a lot of people out here. Okay. pants and in her shirt. >> Let's not keep going because this is just going to make more people stay. >> I'm gonna have to have you go ahead and do a search for me. >> So, you're under arrest for shoplifting. Okay. It is a felony. >> Okay. [Music] >> 94 central 1095. >> How many times? >> Three. >> Yeah. So, those are four. Four convictions. >> Oh, please. Let me ask you this. Okay. >> We've already searched you. I already know that you ain't got nothing else on you. All right. So, let me ask you this. >> Are your kids here? >> Did you come alone? >> I got dropped off. >> You got dropped off? >> Something going to come get you? >> Is there any person any personal property that you have with you? >> I don't think so. >> No. >> My money. >> Your money? Where's that at? >> In my bra. >> In your bra? >> Where was it in your bra? Cuz I didn't feel any money in your bra. >> It probably dropped out at the waist. Well, we can I'll send an officer over there to look for it. Okay. Right now, you are under arrest for felony shoplifting. Okay. Let's go out. Let's go out here. >> In the end, she was charged with felony shoplifting. Clearly, that no matter the excuse or display of sympathy, repeated theft becomes a habit, and the law will not overlook it. Starting off with a thief who thought stealing doesn't count until you walk out the door. >> So, right now, you're just getting detained for shoplifting. Okay. >> I'm not buying stuff. officer. >> On May 17th, 2025, police rushed to Walmart after a call reported a familiar thief returning, confident to pull the same old trick. Let's see how she paid the price this time. Hello. How are you? >> Hey, ma'am. So, right now, you're just getting detained for shoplifting. Okay. >> Oh, no. I'm buying stuff. >> Okay. So, right now you're just being detained. You're not arrested or anything. So, as of now, you are >> But I'm trying to buy >> Do what? >> I'm buying some stuff. >> Are you buying super glue? >> Yeah, I'm buying some stuff >> in your purse. >> Yeah, super glue. >> But I ain't walked out the store yet. I'm feeling vi. >> When confronted by police, the suspect insisted she was just shopping and hadn't left the store, as if that made her innocent. Unfortunately for her, she ran into officers who weren't buying it. You happen to have an ID on you at all? >> No. But not >> in your purse or anything? >> I'm saying >> you have a driver's license on you? >> No. Okay. >> But >> did you drive here? >> I had caught a ride. But I'm saying like when you go to Kroger's and Publix, you can put stuff in a bag >> in in a in a dedicated shopping bag that has been bought by them. It's a recyclable bag. That's your purse that has all your other personal items in it. >> It ain't nothing ain't nothing. It's empty. Ain't nothing in there but my phone and my money >> with your personal items, right? So your purse, your little phone, and then everything else in there. So with the statute, it is concealing items >> but >> in a bag. >> I went, what's your name? >> All right, we're going to go ahead and head over there so you can talk to him and everything. Okay, >> walk us. She tried to justify herself by claiming stuffing items into her purse was no different than using a reusable bag at Kroger or Publix. A dozen lies followed, including about her ID. >> Um, so Miss is stating that, you know, obviously, hey, I'm going to buy these. Um, I was just putting them in my purse uh till I go to check out. Um, >> so it's probably here to dispel any kind of confusion as to why this is shoplifting and, um, if you'd like to press charges, ma'am. >> Yeah. So, um, did y'all get everything out of the >> Yeah, there's like a dozen items that were in the purse. >> So, I mean, you have a cart. So, the cart is what the what's, you know, let's be real. I mean, honestly, you have a cart. That's what the cart is for, not your purse. You don't put the items in your purse. And if you were just doing that, why you you do it so secretly like that? That's not how people shop and get their >> That's not secretly on right there on the island. >> Okay. Um well, yeah, I want to prosecute. So, we'll let the um the judge decide. That's fine. So, the judge may agree with you and the judge may say, "Hey, she was just putting it in her first." When the store manager confronted her, she kept pretending she intended to pay later, even though a dozen items were already hidden. That only strengthened their decision to prosecute her. >> I can't pay for I was going to pay for the stuff. Like, I wasn't going to walk out the store with the stuff. >> Okay. And you can tell the judge that. That's fine. >> But I'm telling you, like I really don't I got my child outside. >> Is your child in the car, Jody? >> Yeah. Like I was going to pay for it for the car. Can I just pay for it? >> J, which car is he in here? Is she in? Cuz we got a bigger issue now. Where's your What car? You said you were dropped off here. >> No, I had caught a ride. >> Is Do you have a child outside, ma'am? >> Yeah. Yeah. With my ride. I don't know if that >> The shocking part came when she admitted a child was waiting outside in a car, but her excuse only made police wonder what else she was hiding. Come on. Can I Can I talk? >> You know, you're actually bar. You're not supposed to be here. Come on. >> Okay. The next thing. >> Jody. >> Ma'am. Okay. But I'm trying to talk. Can I >> You don't need to talk to her. This is our business. >> Okay. Okay. >> You're bar for this location. Come on. >> Okay. >> Jody, come on. >> Stand up, please. >> Just ring those up and get a receipt. >> Right. But you weren't supposed to be on the property to begin with. I thought they said um OK. I was barred from OK. >> Well, you stole from them, too. So, you're bar from them, too. I would assume caught in both places. So, how >> come? >> There's nothing else to talk about. >> When exposed for being previously banned from Walmart over theft, the suspect still tried stalling the officers as if she had the right to negotiate her foolish repeat offense. So, will I get out tonight? >> Probably. >> We'll take a look at your criminal husband and everything. And if you you know, if they give you a bond within your right to >> I will have a bond >> to I I'm not sure. Once you get to the jail, just ask them. We'll let you know. As long as you cooperate, we'll get you on the phone to get you out of there. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Do you know how long it might take? >> I mean, here in Athens, it's usually pretty quick. Like 24 hours or less. 24 hours. >> I mean, that's a day. >> I don't want to do a day. >> I don't know how many counts that you have, whether it be a misdemeanor or a felony. I think it's up to like four. You have to shoplift like four or five times before it's a felony. >> On the way to the patrol car, she begged for same day release. Still delusional, but it was already too late. In the end, she was formally charged with retail theft and criminal trespass. This case is a reminder. Stealing isn't just a mistake. It's a choice that leaves a permanent mark. No excuse, no delay can erase the consequences. And now, let's meet a woman who proved just as bad as she couldn't be honest even in the end. >> That's the United >> I just watched it. On September 6th, 2024, police received an urgent call about a woman stealing a large haul of merchandise from a Target store. Officers rushed to the scene and waited at the exit. The moment she appeared, she came face to face with the consequences of her actions. [Applause] >> Hey, police. How's it going? Put the bags down. >> I didn't do anything. >> Oh, brother. Put your bags down. This is everything I came in with. >> Put your bags. >> I did not do anything. >> I didn't do anything. >> Drop your bags, please. >> I didn't do >> Let's take Cordel. Okay. Just put your back. >> Why are you >> Could you take off as well? You have to. >> That is [ __ ] >> Take your backpack off. >> That is >> Take your backpack off. You're going to go in handcuffs with your backpack on. So >> this is >> it is harassment. >> What do you want to do? >> Stop. I didn't even do anything. >> Go away. So you have >> Is this Is this Is this you guys? >> No. So the bag she's sitting on is ours. But there is >> No, I came in with all this. >> I'm going to cut this backpack off you. If you don't >> You aren't getting touched. Stop. I'm not even doing anything. >> I am not doing anything. I am not doing anything. >> Clearly, the woman refused to accept the outcome and only made things harder. Officers struggled but eventually managed to get her in handcuffs. >> You are breaking the law. >> This is mine. >> Please. Just stop. >> Give me your other hand, ma'am. >> I'm good. You're good. If you want. >> I wasn't doing it. >> Stop resisting. >> I wasn't. >> I was singing all my stuff. >> That's all I was doing. It's your first party. [Music] >> Right after that, police searched through her bags and quickly realized this wasn't the only store she had hit that day. >> I don't think she had this water bottle when she came. >> There's a pink one as well. >> Oh, whichever one she had when she came in, I can tell you it's mine. That's the one she had when she came in. I don't think so. That one's >> This all yours? >> Yeah. This is >> the husky stuff I think is probably Home Depot. >> Yeah, this is probably all Home Depot. >> Uh if it's not if it's not yours, I was going to put all your merchandise here >> for a photo. Um >> this is like all this is mine. This is a tag this year. >> Okay. All anything that's not yours, I'll take off. >> Are all these?
