Come here. Come here. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Stop resisting. Get back. Stop moving. Stop resisting. Stop resisting. I'm sorry. You will never see me again. And I know y'all don't care for me. I'm sorry. Just relax a little bit. You are grabbing me, yanking me, moving me. Come on. I will tell you exactly >> With season shoplifters, their actions showed no trace of guilt. They even prepared plans to deal with the police, from fabricated stories to chaotic resistance, but every move only led to their own late regret. These are the worst shoplifters you could ever encounter. We are This is Law. Don't forget to like and subscribe. Starting with this woman, a shoplifting incident ended with her being arrested for a different charge. >> I don't have it in my car. You guys saw. Let me the [ __ ] go. >> No. You are under arrest. >> I'm not. >> On the 26th of April, 2024, police received a report of a theft at a gas station. The suspect was believed to be a woman who had fled to her car immediately afterward, but before leaving, she was stopped by officers. Here was what happened next. >> Hey, ma'am. Throw your car in park for me, okay? Will you step out and talk to me, please? I'm Officer Cornellson. >> I I paid for my bag. >> Okay. Let's just uh let's talk about it, okay? We'll talk about it over here. Okay. Will you step out? Okay. So, um first off, what's your name, ma'am? >> Carol. >> What's your last name, Ms. Carol? >> Parker. >> And do you have a license on you? >> No, I don't. >> All right. Here's what we're going to do. Instead of having you messing around, uh just looking through the car, let me get you to step out, okay? >> All right. It's not in here. >> That's okay. Just let me get you to step out. Okay. So, you're saying that you didn't take it? >> I didn't. >> Okay. But you said you paid for it? >> Uh-huh. >> Do you have your receipt where you paid for it? >> She didn't pay for it. She was going to get a vape and I stopped her to >> I just paid. >> Make her pay or return me back. >> Notice that even before the officer asked anything, she immediately claimed she had paid for everything, showing she already knew what was going on. Instead of proving her innocence, she seemed ready to rely on another option. >> I'll pay again. >> So, do you have it or do you not have it? You don't have to look. >> I don't see it. >> Okay. So, you didn't walk out with it? >> for it. >> All right. >> She walked out with it. We got her on the camera. We got her on the video. And I >> Okay. Um if she gives it back, if she pays again, >> Yeah, that's fine. >> are you guys going to press charges? >> No. >> Okay. All right, Ms. Karen. So, if she pays, you're not going to press charges? >> No. >> Okay. Ms. Karen, step into the store, okay? >> Sure. >> I hold up my power. >> Yeah. [ __ ] >> Do I have the cigarette or vape? >> You already had it. >> You don't have that. >> No, I don't have it. >> Ma'am, you walked out with it. >> I don't have it in my car. You guys saw >> let let's go this way, all right? Here's how Here's how we'll we'll run it. Ms. Karen, do you mind since they're saying that you walked out with it, and they're saying that they have video of you walking out with it, do you mind if I look in your passenger compartment? Okay. So, I'm going to hand you this. I'm going to have have you step with this officer and stand right here. Ms. Karen, hey. >> I'll pay. >> Oh, hold on. Don't get back in the car. I'm going to have you stand with this officer, okay? I'm going to search your passenger compartment for the vape. We'll see if we find it, okay? So, just hang out with this officer. >> I'll >> Here you go. >> Thank you so much. I appreciate you. >> It was clear that based on the woman's condition, it was highly suspicious that she might not have been sober, and the officer quickly noticed it and raised concerns about it. >> And how much wine have you had today? >> Not much, but >> Not much? >> Uh-uh. >> How much is not much? >> I've had a glass. >> You've had a glass, okay. Have you taken anything else? Okay, cuz what I'm observing is that you're slurring your words, you're very unsteady on your speech, and you almost rear-ended somebody when you were trying to pull out. >> Okay. >> So, >> when you say a glass I'm a mild down the road. >> I understand that now, but you still can't drive intoxicated, okay, which is what what I'm getting to. You understand? How much is a glass? >> It's 4 oz. >> 4 oz? Okay. What kind of medication do you take? >> I don't take any. >> No medications? Or do you take any other anything else that would cause you to be a little unsteady? >> No. >> Nothing like that? Okay. Um so, here's the thing. If that's the case, that's fine. Would you mind if I check your eyes just to make sure that you are safe to drive before I let you to pull out of here? >> Okay. All right. Um do you have any type of head conditions or anything else like that that would impair you from following my finger? >> No. >> Nothing like that? You have any injuries with your balance, hips, anything like that? Okay. Um what we're going to do, let's get you right over here, and then I'm just going to check you and make sure you're good, okay? >> Although she claimed she was completely fine, the officer still decided to conduct sobriety tests on her, and at that moment her condition became even more obvious. >> Instructions, eyes on eyes on. >> Huh? >> With my finger. See it? Just follow it, okay? Just follow with your eyes, okay? Don't move your head. >> All right. >> So, return back to the back to where I had you, okay? I'm going to get you into a starting position, and I want you to stay in that position until I tell you to begin, okay? So, get right back on the line where you were. Left foot on the line just like you have it. Right foot in front of the left foot. In a heel-to-toe fashion just like I'm showing you. Can you do that? >> [laughter] >> No, let me get down. >> Do you have balance and any injuries? >> I have uh >> Hold on, Ms. Karen. Ms. Karen. >> The woman tried to avoid the officer after realizing she had failed the test, and at that point the officer had already decided on the next course of action. >> I'm going to get in the car. >> Uh that's not what we're going to do, okay? >> hands behind your back. No, you're not putting me >> Ms. Ms. Karen, please don't, okay? Let's not do that. >> Put her in here. >> Let's not do that. No, ma'am, we cannot, okay? Cuz you were driving under the influence. >> arrest. >> Sit down. Don't jump to any conclusions, okay? Ms. Karen. >> Yeah. >> Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. No, no, no, no, no. You cannot drive home. >> I'm driving home. >> No, you're not, ma'am. You are way too intoxicated to drive home. >> I'm not. >> Yes, ma'am, you are. You can't even walk in a straight line. Grab her arm. >> It it hurts hurting very badly. >> Just hold on, okay? >> Can you please let me out of it? >> No, ma'am. Cuz you have driven here very intoxicated, okay? Um I'm going to have to do this. >> Can you please let go? >> No, ma'am. >> I'm driving home. Let me out. >> Even though her wrongdoing was already clear, the woman refused to accept it, continuing to refuse arrest and even showing an uncooperative attitude. >> Ms. Karen. She slithered right on out of those. Put the Put your >> Let Let the [ __ ] out. >> No, you are under arrest. >> I'm not under refusing >> Well, if you keep refusing arrest then we're just going to have to go back and forth with you and then that's going to cause you an even bigger headache. >> I'm refusing arrest. >> You can't do that, ma'am. >> I am doing that. >> It's okay, these aren't going to fit. >> I'm refusing arrest. Let me go. >> No. >> I'm refusing arrest. >> You can't refuse arrest, ma'am. >> No, you can't, unfortunately. >> I can refuse arrest. Please let go. >> No. Now you're going to jail for DUI and obstruction. What the hell was really going on? >> I refused arrest. You're killing me. >> Well, because you just slipped out of my handcuffs, so now I got to get them tied on you. No. Walk this way. Please don't make me carry you. I really don't want to do that. >> Can I get my vape and my keys? >> I will get everything for you, okay? >> I refused arrest. Why are you still arresting me? >> Cuz that's you are you can't do it you can't refuse arrest, ma'am, okay? Just like you can't drive intoxicated and you can't slip out of handcuffs. Uh we'll get your keys and everything, okay? >> The woman was charged with DUI and resisting arrest. This case showed that a small crime like shoplifting could expose even bigger problems and one bad decision could quickly lead to far more serious consequences. >> [music] >> Next, the woman realized that her remorse had come far too late. >> This is a grand theft auto case. I can tell you what they stole from this store and what they didn't, but I didn't have to do it. >> Those dictate how we do things with enforcement, okay? So. >> On the 22nd of December, 2025, police stopped a car in a shopping center parking lot after suspecting it was connected to a shoplifting incident. The moment officers approached and opened the the seat door, all the evidence already appeared to be clear. >> What can I tell them about? >> Step out of the car. >> I said turn >> Just just tell me all the stuff you got. Is that stuff all right there? >> No, that's all the No, that didn't come from here. No. I didn't bring >> You only get one shot at this. >> No, that's why I came back to the car. I didn't get one shot at it. That's why I came back to the car. >> You brought stuff out. That's why we're here. >> No, that's my bag right there. My black bag right there. I didn't get one shot of it. Not one. I'm going to tell you the truth. Not that I didn't get one shot of it. >> Where your friends at? >> They're there. >> Doing the same thing? >> I don't know. >> You don't know? >> I came out. I didn't get not one shot of it. >> If you got anything on you you shouldn't have. >> Uh right here. Can you see if my inhaler's in here? In the inside. In the inside. >> Okay. Okay. >> Yeah. >> You can't be shopping there right now. You don't need to right now. >> No. No. No. >> Come on here. Come on. >> Yes, sir. >> Anything on you you shouldn't have. >> No, let's go. >> Okay. >> Do you know what she got? >> In a black bag. >> Okay. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. >> Come back here for me though. >> Yes, sir. >> According to the investigation, this woman was only one of three people involved in the theft with two others still inside the store. Under pressure from the police, she began admitting to a few things. >> I'm just saying I I told you what I took I only took one thing. But it wasn't from this store. It's from Five Below. That's all. >> Okay. >> I have nothing in my bag. That's all the thing I have in my bag. That came from Five Below. That's all the thing I had. >> That came from Five Below? >> Yep, Five Below. >> And I'm sure you didn't pay for that either. >> Yes, I did. Somebody else paid for it for me. >> Okay, where are all these clothes from? >> I didn't take none of them clothes, though. >> Yeah, you did. >> Okay. >> It's all in the black bag. It's all on video. So, now you're just going to go to jail for it, so here's your notice to appear. >> I'm going to get a notice to appear. >> Well, you were going to if you were honest with me. Since you don't want to be honest with me, I'm >> No, I'll be honest. I'll be honest, please. Can I be honest? >> You're going to try. You're going to try. We already tried to be honest with you. >> I don't know. So, please. Because it's my grandson's birthday. >> I tried helping you out twice now, and you still just want to lie to me. >> I I I I got >> We're too busy for this. >> I am listening. Please, I don't want to go to jail. It's my grandson's birthday. I can tell you what came from this store and what didn't, but I didn't know I didn't do it. >> Okay. While the woman cried and regretted her actions, her two friends appeared, both completely unaware of the police presence. >> You guys belong to this car, right? >> Yeah, that's what I was looking for for my five year old son. >> Yeah, well >> We're looking for teeth. >> Yeah, well, she's in custody. >> Why? What was she doing? >> With all the stuff that you guys handed to her, she walked out and stole it, so she's >> I didn't have that. >> I don't know. You just tell me what they told me. I don't know anything about >> Okay, well, I got my >> I believe all of you guys dropped this. >> I didn't. Not me. >> Uh-huh. >> I didn't drop that. >> No, we didn't have that. We didn't have that. We can go back and look at the camera. >> Yeah, so right here, you guys end up going over there. >> No, I No, it's probably fell out that cart so, but we I had promised that cart that I just had. >> That cart? >> Yeah, but I promise you. You can go back and see I paid for what I had in my bag. No, that's not >> Hey, question, did you see a little purse thing on the ground here when you walked through here? >> No. >> No, you see them drop it? >> I just moved that I was just moving that cart. >> Was there anything in that cart? >> No. >> Did you take anything out of that cart? >> Sir, there wasn't nothing in it. >> Did you take anything out of it? >> No. >> No? Okay. Okay. You said it just came out that cart, huh? >> Huh? Yeah, I >> This guy here just said that nothing was in there. >> No, I didn't say that cart. I said I had a cart it must've came out of. >> That ain't paid for. This ain't paid for. >> I'm sorry, sir. I will go back and pay. >> That's not paid for. Both of them were quickly searched along with their bags of merchandise, and it was at that very moment that the second shoplifter in the group was revealed. >> All right, I got a minute. >> Okay. >> You just sit tight. >> All right. >> He's out here. He's about to pull up, so. I just started making a pile on the ground, brother. These ain't paid for. Come here, ma'am. You ain't going nowhere. >> I'm not. >> No. So, what did you pay for? Let's Let's just be honest here. >> I'm I'm going to be honest with you, sir. I paid for this, sir. I didn't know she was coming in doing >> But you didn't pay for all this. >> This is my purse right here. >> I understand. You This case This came out of your purse. >> No, this didn't come out of my purse. This was This was in my purse. >> This fell on the ground right here where you were. >> I'm I don't think so. I'm sorry, sir. It's Christmas time. I'm so sorry. >> Yeah, let's go through it. >> Well, I bought these shoes. >> That's fine. >> I bought these shoes. >> Yeah, I know that. >> I bought this bag. I got this. >> I know that. >> And I got a Roblox card, and I bought this soda. >> Oh, where's my Roblox card? This is all Can you get that? >> I didn't I didn't >> That's my daughter's and And then I can open my bag. I don't have nothing in it. Yeah, like Or we can go back and look at the cameras. I didn't hand her anything. I I didn't hand >> Somebody did. >> I didn't I didn't hand her nothing. I have everything right here. See, I I got a Roblox password. >> Yeah, well, she didn't. >> Well, I'm sorry, sir. >> That's the the cuff >> 12.99 at the bottom. >> So, I'm going to jail? I will pay. >> I don't know what you're going to do. >> I'm I will pay for it. >> And then the shoes? >> 12.99 >> at the bottom, that ain't mine. >> The $12.99? >> There ain't no $12.99 on here. >> During the inspection, officers discovered another suspicious bag lying on the ground. The police then confronted both suspects about it. >> Jail. >> Hold on, that's what I'm saying, all right? >> These are my >> That purse >> no, don't touch anything outside of there, okay? >> That purse was left in that car. I didn't take that purse. >> Well, why was it on the ground when you walked up? >> I told you it was that left in that car. I didn't take that, sir. >> That guy pushed that cart away and it went down there. The cart it went down in the cart on the ground. >> It must have I didn't take that. I didn't You can It's going to show on the cameras. I didn't take that. It was already in the bottom of the cart, sir. I wouldn't lie to you about that. >> was on the ground. It wasn't in the cart. It was on the ground. I picked it up off the ground. Right where you guys were. >> Cuz I wanted it on my cart because it wasn't mine. I didn't take it. >> But you left the store with it. >> know that I That's what I didn't know. That's why I was asking my friend, "What was that that was left in my cart?" I didn't know. >> So, you're saying that was in your cart when you left, but you didn't know that was in there. >> Whatever I will pay for it, sir. I'm sorry. I I know better. I know better. >> We're going to do this thing. So, you guys know her outside of this T? >> Yeah, that's all I know her from. Straight nobody knows her. Just probably like a month. Not long. >> About Ms. Williams, how long you know T? >> I don't I told you I don't know her at all. >> You don't know her at all. Okay. >> And I'm so sorry for this. It makes y'all job >> I'm sorry. >> I'm sorry. I know better than this. I have I have two little girls. I know better than this. >> Yeah. I've been doing this all night. >> Huh? >> So, I've been doing this all night, place to place with people. You ain't never have to see my face again, all right? >> I love my life now. I'm so sorry. >> From mentioning her birthday to bringing up her two daughters, it seemed this suspect tried to gain sympathy and it did not stop there. She pulled out every excuse she could to show her belated remorse. >> I'm working at a nursing home. I'm a CNA. I don't >> So, it looks like one of you two threw it on the ground. >> I did. I'm sorry, sir. >> You did it? You threw it on the ground? >> I just I'm sorry. >> Okay. I guess what? There are cameras, man. >> Yeah, I'm not I'm I'm sorry. Whatever, I'll pay for it or whatever I have >> Our job >> I know. I know. >> Our job is to find out this stuff, you know? That's I've been doing it 12 years. She's been doing it longer. So, I mean We don't We don't try to be We ain't trying to be hateful, you know? >> Yeah, I just want to make it back home to my kids. >> I I get it. I get you're scared. Totally get it, right? You're scared and you make mistakes, but I feel like mistakes are we can get beyond that. You know what I mean? But, like the more like our job integrity is everything. You tell me one lie and we got a problem, you know? Like Cuz then everything you say after that's a lie to me. You know what I mean? >> So, I'm sorry. >> I'm not even trying to cut breaks. >> Cuz I'm going to jail. I'm sorry. >> We're going to book you and do it. Huh? We're going to book >> Please, I will pay you whatever. I'm so sorry. >> Despite her attempts to gain sympathy, a crime was still a crime and the outcome could not be changed. The officers then bluntly explained the consequences she could face. >> I'm listening. Okay, there's the law and then there's our policy and our general orders, okay? Those dictate how we do things with enforcement. >> [laughter] >> Okay? So, we're going to figure it all out here in a minute, okay? Sometimes totals have something to do with that. How much things are worth. Okay? >> [snorts] >> And if you if you're if you end up going, I'll let you talk to them, don't worry, okay? But, right now, I'm just going to keep on going. >> Yeah. >> That's got to get added to my stuff. That was >> No. >> Is that How did >> It's separate. >> I didn't [laughter] take >> I really understand. That's why it's separate. You have the stuff that you took. That's going to be the other stuff that I was taking, okay? >> You guys were at TJ Max earlier? >> Yeah, we did. >> Okay. Well, should have Well, we'll see if they'll be calling about all this, cuz this is from there. >> She got that from TJ Max? >> I didn't know she even took nothing from there. Oh my god. >> 23, bring them out to the car. >> [laughter] >> Is that what I'm going to jail for? >> Hold on. Hold on. >> [laughter] >> Is that what I was going to jail for? I will pay >> Okay, it could be could be two things. Right, you got We got two options here. We can take you to jail, or we can or we can issue a notice to appear in court. >> Okay. I'll show up in court. I will pay whatever >> Okay, I get it. All right. You got a couple. That is a factor into that, you know? >> The women were charged with shoplifting and were issued a notice to appear in court. If she failed to show up for the court date, an arrest warrant would be issued. Trying to gain sympathy with excuses could not erase a crime. Honesty from the beginning might have made a difference, but repeated lies only made the situation worse. More astonishingly, the next robbery was carefully planned by the store's own employee. >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. >> Is that You told me >> It was It was using a robbery. Yeah, I mean, it's We can't >> On the 18th of June, 2025, according to surveillance footage, a woman who worked at a T-Mobile store allowed her boyfriend to enter the staff room. And when the store manager walked in, a robbery unfolded. This was what happened at that moment. >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Relax on the ground. I mean, if they all need to do is just Just relax. That's all you got to do. I ain't going to hurt you. Now, what else? What else? Where are the money at? Huh? >> Do you Do you want me to get up? >> Where is it at? >> It's in the the drawer up front. >> How much How much would normally be in there? >> 150. >> 150? >> That's it. >> I'm going to find your ass, man. >> The keys are You see that big black holster behind that desk on the left? >> Uh-huh. >> It's behind there on the right in the corner. You'll find the keys. >> Come on. >> No. >> If I find nothing, I'm going to fire your ass up. >> I'm not dying over this. >> Right after that, the manager was forced to hand over cash and a series of merchandise from the store, and the police quickly received a report and arrived at the scene. >> You cover front, I'll cover left. >> Store employees, line up. Yes. Yes, uh bathroom. All right now. >> Just hold it, Brian. >> He is saying that they do work. He just doesn't have access to them. Once you guys are done clearing the business, uh I'd like to bring it back. Just idea how the All right, we can come back to work. I just want to say I wanted to kick this out. Employees only or if that damage has been there. There's no shoe mark. >> I get here early every day, and I'm just opening up the store. I went to the back. We had had call in saying that they were coming in to get a iPhone, so I'm putting all our packages away, checking our safe to see if we have the iPhone and things like that. So, I start the time delay, and when I start every time I start the time delay, I tell my watch to start a 10-minute timer. Then, a customer came in, so I started working with the customer. She was talking about our internet's not working, her friend's internet's not working, and so I just go push the buttons and once I step in Tell me to get on the ground. >> Where was she at? >> Right behind the door. >> From the final footage of the suspect fleeing, the police quickly traced their lead, and at that moment everything became extremely tense. >> Hands up! >> Put your hands up. >> Put your [ __ ] hands up right now! Turn around! Anybody else in there? >> No. >> All right. You got cover? Who else is with you? Don't move. >> There's somebody else in this home camera. >> Radio, one detained. All right. Yeah, we're not playing that. Where's the gun at? Stop. Don't move. You don't move. Right out to this car. I'm asking you one more time, if you have a gun on you, you better tell me where it's at. >> no gun. I didn't even do nothing. I don't know what y'all got going on. >> Yeah, well, hiding inside of a store like that, that don't make no sense, right? >> I mean, it's a barber shop. >> Yeah, no, not so much. This will go with us. You'll get it back or no. >> I don't understand. >> You own a blue car out there? >> Huh? >> You own a blue car out there? Yeah. You got to come out and talk to us. We I'm going to be honest with you, it it was used in a robbery, so armed robbery. That vehicle was used in an armed robbery, you stole. >> I'm wanted in an armed robbery? >> Yep. I'm just going to be I'm going to be >> You have me on camera in a >> No, no, no. I said the vehicle was used in an armed robbery, and so you're driving the vehicle here, we got to talk to you about it. >> Hold on. Wait. >> Yeah. >> This woman was the store employee herself and while falsely denying any involvement in the robbery she even came up with a story about her boyfriend borrowing the car. >> Did you let anyone borrow your vehicle? >> Did I let somebody borrow my vehicle? Yeah, I did. >> Okay, who who >> Tyreke. >> Who's Tyreke to you? >> Um this this boy that I've been talking to. >> Was he with you today? >> No, he wasn't with me. I just came over here to get my phone. >> Did you drive that vehicle here? >> Oh, I don't know what police department come over to. >> Okay, so what part did you come from what part >> I don't know until you get here. >> Yeah, I drove here. >> And that and that's your vehicle. >> You said my car was used in a robbery? >> I'll be honest with you I said we're trying to be honest with you. Is that the story that you want to go with? Yeah, we have awesome cameras that cover each intersection and attract your vehicle. So we know where you've been. Right, so like you want to tell us like again which way you were coming from? >> I don't know where the store was at. >> So why why was your car coming from back where like the robbery? >> When? >> What What time What time did you get your car? >> I got my car at 12:16 she texted me that I was coming over already. I got my car at 12:16 cuz she asked me was I still coming and I said I'm on my way sorry I'm coming at >> At 12:16 he picked you up? >> Yeah. No, that's when I was driving on my way here. >> You were driving here? >> Yeah, at 12:16. >> What was the last time you had your car before that? >> Uh last night. >> So you had your car the entire time from last night to now? >> Yeah. >> Till 12:16? >> Yes. >> So were you were you in the T-Mobile in Solon? >> No, I haven't been in there. >> So we look at the cam So we're we're looking at the cameras. We're not going to see you we're not going to see you in there? >> No. >> That was her story but with the evidence confirmed by the cameras the woman eventually admitted a little about the person who had borrowed her car. >> You The best part right now is just to be honest about everything because you can either not be in trouble or you're going to be in a lot of trouble. I can't really make a promise right now but >> Huh? >> You let Tyreke drive your car? >> Yeah. >> Then you were at T-Mobile in Solon? >> Is that Solon? I don't know where that was. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> That's my purse? So, you got it out of my car? Yeah, it is. And you said it was in there. >> Yes. >> Okay, so this is not my >> I'm sorry. I just needed a clarification. You don't know that guy at all? >> No, that's not right. >> You know >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> That's not right. >> So, you guys were at the store in Laurel today, mistakenly? >> No, I went to the store in Laurel, yeah. >> Today? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> But a robbery, though? My car was used in a robbery? >> I'm from Bedford. All I know is the guy that robbed you. >> So, he was the robber, he robbed me, too? >> He had your He had your purse. >> If he was from Bedford, he used my car for a robbery? >> You're going to be in no trouble. You can cooperate or you can not cooperate and be in a lot of trouble. Staying calm and cooperating could have prevented additional charges and a far more serious outcome. Worse, the next theft went far beyond an ordinary shoplifting incident. >> 10-50, he's driving off the road. >> Why do you have to be like that, man? >> Why do I have to be like that? >> you have a [ __ ] seat? >> I am trying to get in, man. >> On the 22nd of February, 2024, police received a call from a Fleet Farm store reporting that a theft had occurred. Civil issue, JD Byrider, who's the leasing company, says, "Who cares? We don't want to sign complaints. We're just going to go repo it again from her." And I'm like, "Well, obviously, you're not in trouble. You can take her out." And here if that's fine. >> In the end, officers only proceeded to repossess the vehicle and the woman was released at the scene. Nevertheless, she was still charged with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle and obstruction of justice. Her actions showed that arguing and refusing to cooperate only made the situation worse and that when a legal dispute over a vehicle arises, honesty and cooperation with the police are the only ways to avoid turning a civil problem into criminal charges. Honesty goes a long way with me, okay? So, I appreciate you being honest. Um did you not see me standing here? >> Okay. >> Okay. So, they want to press charges for the theft, okay? So, I'm not going to take you to jail. All right? >> All right. >> But, I So, um >> If they press charges, what happens? >> Well, you're going to get So, I'm not going to issue you a cite today cuz then I'd have to book you and release you, okay? So, right now, you are under arrest, though. Okay, just so you're aware of that. Um I'm going to Where is your I'm going to search your bag here cuz this is on your person. All right, so it's not in here. >> I just said I wasn't going to be arrested. >> You're not. Just Hold on. Okay. So, I got to figure out who she is. >> You need something else in that bag there. >> Yeah, exactly. So, um >> Plot thickens on this one. >> Yeah. So, >> I have to work on scanning all that stuff. There's quite a bit in those tubes. >> And I'm just assuming a 3-year trespass on this as well. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Okay. And just so you're aware, you're being trespassed from this Red Myers for 3 years. If you come back, you're subject to arrest. Today's date is the 29th of July uh the 2023. So, if you return by July 29th of 20 uh, 2026, you are subject to arrest. >> Yeah, I'll just take the, uh, the, itemized >> At this point, attention returned to the man she referred to as her sugar daddy as the store employee shared information that strongly suggested the woman might have been involved in an organized retail theft operation. >> All right. So, long story short, >> stand over here. >> uh, this gentleman is here. I called him on another suspicious vehicle that was here that he went and cleared. >> Okay. >> When he came back and was addressing me with what happened, he's like, "You just straight walked out." My apparel associate was behind her. He's like, "Hey, this jewelry just fell out of her purse. She hasn't gone through check stand." And he proceeded to follow her out over between the two red vehicles over there and he's like, "What's going on?" She's like, >> Yeah, I didn't pay. >> What did she say? >> She She's like, "Yeah, I didn't pay for this stuff." >> Pay for what? Do you know if she checked? >> Oh, yeah. They're They're counting it up now. It It's a big I mean, there's probably over $100 just in alcohol alone in the cart. >> Okay. I'll work on this. >> All right. So, what do we What was our grand total? >> $916. >> Well, this was less than it had to be, so >> Plus another 22, so we're looking at 940, 930? >> Okay. >> 940. >> Okay. I'll take that. >> So, yeah. We'll call it 940. >> Should be a felony, not a misdemeanor. >> Um, >> Here you go. >> All right. >> Are these the ones that you see? >> I don't know. You can just take them. Um, >> Do you have this guy's ID? >> Yeah, I know. I got her ID. So, she had another her ID in her purse that for a male. She says it's like her boyfriend. She's calling him her sugar daddy. Uh, and, uh, so I don't know. I got to figure out if she can have that or not have that or whatever. >> Did this happen while you were here for the other guy? >> Dude, she walked out with my car right there. Uh, like, I'm just going to start parking like like in front of the doors cuz I like parking >> Yeah, cuz I called him on a suspicious vehicle, right? Yeah. And he he had just cleared that vehicle, came back over to give me the follow-up on it, and we're standing there, and my fellow associate is following this lady up like, she didn't pay, she's going straight out the door, jewelry is falling out of her purse. >> Okay. >> And my fellow associate is like, four pieces of jewelry fell out of her purse, and jewelry is And so, he followed her out and was like, >> What's going on? >> Yeah, she was like, so she's like, she's like, I paid for everything. >> Naturally, the woman's outcome was now subject to change due to sufficient evidence, and police informed her of this development. >> Okay, so just due to the amounts, um, a little bit of a game change. I know, um, >> I've been here ever since. >> Hold on. It's going to be what's called a book and release. So, you're going to get driven to the jail, you're going to get processed, okay? And then you're going to be released directly from the jail, okay, with all your property. Um, but you you did take almost a thousand dollars worth of merchandise. >> Oh. >> All right? >> Wow. >> So, just due to the the volume, all right, uh, that's what we're going to do, all right? That was a lot That was a lot of items, all right? So, I'm going to have to have you go and take out a stock out for me. So, she needs the walker to walk. >> She needs to be searched. >> Um, no, I haven't. I haven't searched her at all. Do you Would you object? >> Let's have Jennifer come, since she's working. >> Yeah. >> We'll search. >> Okay, so I'm not saying anything. >> All right. >> She asked for a female officer. >> Okay. >> Okay, good. >> So, we're going to get a female officer here to do a search for you. Go ahead and get comfy, we're going to close the door until then. >> Is this collapsible? >> Yeah, it is collapsible. >> It's not like I can put it in my line, like >> In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting. This case showed that acting calm and cooperative did not erase dishonesty, and early lies only made the consequences far worse in the end. Do not blink, because in the next moment, chaos returned once again with this woman. >> Somebody brandished a firearm on me and my a a ten-year-old child. >> [screaming] >> Like, ow! You guys My daughter just ran! My daughter! Help! >> On February 14th, 2025, police received a 911 call from a woman who alleged that a man had brandished a firearm and threatened her at Walmart. Here was how the story unfolded as told through her own account. >> Hi, so I was like coming into the store, right? And then I noticed like two people that have issues with. And I'm like on a little push cart. I'm going and like they're trying to have a conversation with me. I don't want to have no conversation. I'm going to get groceries and go home. >> Okay. >> And then she's like lagging behind. I'm like I don't want any problems with these people. And like I had seen him like when he was standing there, he was like this with his hand in his pocket like trying to pull something out. And I'm like, "What the hell is going on? Come on." And then when he got probably like by the meat, like the fruit and the meat, the bread, she was like, "He pulled the gun out." And I was like, "Why would you just tell me that as soon as we get over here?" Like so I just >> What part of the What part of the store did that happen? >> Right up at the front. >> At the front over here? >> by the alarm, something right [laughter] there. >> Did he say anything when he pulled the gun? >> Um, he was like >> Or did he just like go like this? >> Is that what he did, right? As soon as As soon as he said something to me, I ignored him because I have problems with this person. So I'm like not even allowed to talk to them. >> Is he still in the store? >> I don't think so. I was on the push cart and out the >> Do you have a photo of him? >> Uh I might be able to look up like them on Facebook. >> She recounted the incident in a highly dramatic manner, but when she was questioned further, suspicion gradually surfaced as she failed to provide clear details about her own story. >> Did he like make a threat towards you when he pulled the gun out? >> I don't know because I'm screaming at her to come on. I'm screaming at her to come on cuz obviously scared at that point. So I'm like, "Can you come on?" >> Is this your daughter? >> No, it's my husband. >> Husband's older? >> Husband's not here. You know, my kids are at home. I'm just here to grab some juice, get some eggs, and >> Of course, yeah. But you didn't see the gun. >> No, I did see him. I seen him trying to pull something out. That's what I just said to you. I seen him trying to pull something out. >> But you weren't able to identify what it was? >> I can tell you exactly what it looked like. Black black holster, black end where his hand was. I can tell you exactly what it looked like. >> We can check if there's a no contact order. >> Yeah, I know for a fact there is. I had to sign it. >> All right. Wait, do you have your ID on you? >> Yeah. >> Thank you. >> Up to that point, the woman appeared cooperative, but her demeanor shifted noticeably once police >> uncovered certain details in her records. >> Okay, so you don't have a protection order with anyone. The protection order states that you can't possess firearms. That's what it says. >> No, I have a no contact order with him. I know I do. >> No, you don't. I just ran your name. >> It's not underneath that name. I've been married since then. >> Okay, but when we >> my supervisor, please? >> He's not going to come out for this. When we run this >> he's not going to come out for this? >> When we run this, ma'am, this number right here, your social is linked to that. >> When you get married at the DMV, you get a new driver's license identification number. I know that for a fact. I have my old driver's license and that one, my new one. Police car and supervisor, or I'll call the non-emergency number and request >> you need the supervisor for? >> Because you're not doing your job. You just told me I have a I don't have a no contact order, and you said just because it's not in that >> He's going to tell you the same thing. >> Um somebody needs to come up here right now because he's trying to tell me I don't have a no contact order, and he wasn't even going to try to ask or have any explanation. He's just trying to shrug me off. So >> She made an additional 911 call simply because the situation did not go the way she wanted, and that very decision led to consequences she never intended. >> What is my emergency? >> Yeah. >> Uh somebody brandished a firearm on me and my a a 10-year-old child. He's here now. >> We were already here. Put the phone down. >> Are you the supervisor? He's not >> Put the phone down, Alyssa. >> I'm on the phone with non-emergency. Please. Somebody help. Record this. Please. >> Just walk in straight. >> Wait. >> Chaos erupted as the woman insisted on portraying herself as the victim, and the disruption she created continued even as she was being escorted out. >> I didn't, babe. I had my arms out. >> Feed me. >> What's the matter? Oh, you're hurting me. Please, I have a bad shoulder. I have a torn rotator cuff. Please. Please, you're hurting me. I'm serious. Please stop. You're hurting me. And you guys tried to slam me. I was not resisting. I was on the phone with I was on the phone with an operator. I have a torn rotator cuff. >> You resisted arrest and that's why I'm here. >> resist arrest. You guys did not tell me what I was going to Wait a second, please. God, please. I requested a supervisor and they said a supervisor was on the way. >> You don't call 911 for that. >> I didn't call 911. I was on the phone with the regular department and they transferred me. I was on the I was on the phone with the non-emergency. He transferred me. >> That's not what dispatch >> Yes, it was. He transferred me. I have it in my call log. It's all here. >> Okay, county has live 911 which he it shows who's calling >> And I was transferred >> time it's calling. >> I was transferred to them. >> She claimed she had been threatened and insisted her shoulder was injured, yet even that seemed insufficient as she soon latched onto another issue. >> Please sit. >> I need a supervisor, please. I can't go to jail. I just had a newborn. >> Get in the car. >> I just had a newborn. My uterus. Please. >> Get in the car. >> [screaming] >> Please. I just had a baby. The charges were later amended to resisting an officer without violence and misuse of 911. This case showed how exaggeration, inconsistency, and misuse of emergency services can quickly turn a claim of victimhood into serious legal consequences. Worse still, the seasoned thieves deliberately played dumb to mask what they had done. >> I'm saying they believe y'all to be some serial shoplifters. >> Oh, hell no. >> Hello. I I usually like um sell stuff, resell, and there was too much, so I just said I was just going to leave it. >> On February 19th, 2024, officers responded to a call from Target after two suspects were suspected of attempting to shoplift, but abandoned everything when they realized they were being watched. This was what unfolded when police arrived on scene. >> Yeah, it's cosmetics. >> Yeah, that's I told them like you didn't record. >> Okay, I'm going to use these scratch tickets. Anybody can give you criminal trespass. >> Right. >> Right after officers issued the trespass warning to the suspects, they directly confronted them with the store employees' suspicions. The suspects immediately reacted with firm denial. >> I'm saying they believe y'all to be some serial shoplifters. >> Oh, hell no. >> Did you leave the car in there? >> Huh? >> Full of stuff. >> We saw you guys taking some items. >> And then you just left ditched the car and took off. >> Um no, I was driving the car. I don't have my ID, but I can give you my name and everything. >> You got something on you? >> Yeah, sure. >> So like I said, I'm not really trying to make this a big deal. >> No big deal. >> This is one of the things that I guess they have footage of one other store. >> Uh so they just came from the Canton store. Uh it's two TVs from that location. >> Can I get the mention of my name? >> Get her code 540. I'm going to call Canton. Hey, y'all chill for a sec. >> Okay. >> What's your first name? >> Uh Iyana. Canton. >> On 575? >> No, we literally just just came here. >> If we if Did your car have two big TVs in it? >> No. >> Every allegation was immediately denied, yet suspicion only intensified when officers began questioning why they had abandoned the merchandise inside the store moments earlier. >> But but why did you ditch the car before you came out? >> I was going to I was actually cuz I know I I I usually like um sell stuff resell and there was too much so I just said I was just going to leave it. >> Um all right, we're trying to figure out if they have TVs in that car. >> Yeah, Catch said there's two 32-in TVs. >> There's? >> That's what Catch said. >> Do you know where he is? >> I don't know, I haven't seen >> Um on phone. >> Did they file a report in Canton for those TVs? >> And what kind of TVs were they? >> Uh >> You said they had shoplifting at the 8 in Canton? >> No, no they didn't. >> Uh according to my people >> There's two TVs in that car. >> They saw them walking out 30 minutes ago. Did they file a report? >> Uh that's what he's trying to do right now. >> Yeah, if they say they got you on surveillance taking stuff. >> Well >> I mean I know. You guys just want to like complain or >> I mean we were just waiting on you. >> And they didn't take anything here? >> Uh they grabbed all the fire sticks like they were going to like they usually do. >> Okay. >> And um they ditched them right there inside I'm assuming when they saw you guys. >> Okay. >> Their denials failed to steer the investigation off course and as the situation shifted in a different direction, officers moved in and placed the suspects in handcuffs. >> Uh we're just waiting on a phone call. Okay. All right, we'll see you here in a little bit. All right. >> Take your hands out of your pockets, please. >> Okay. >> Put your chest up against the wall over here. Do you think you can't take your purse off for me? >> There you go. >> Thank you. I'm not trying to pull on them. I'm going to pull your hair cuz I don't want to put your hands behind your back for me, please. >> Can I tie my hair up? >> That's fine. So, K9's on their way to come get you here. >> Okay. See that? >> I'm going to pull your hair up just a little bit. I don't want to pull it. >> That's fine. >> We can put two cuffs off on there if one is not good. >> I can roll my sleeves up on my knees. >> It's fine. We'll we'll manage. >> We're going to put them in the Yeah. Um >> You want to come and get me? >> Yeah, they're going to come and get you. >> All right. >> Just hang out here for me. I'll put one right here. >> 10-39 2 times. Advise 10-50 is on the way to our location. >> We get two sets on you so it's a little more comfortable for you. >> You have anything on your person? Knives, explosives, hand grenades, weapons, RPGs, land mines. You'd be surprised what we found, so. >> He could He's only asking cuz when we get the tail if there's anything in there. It's a felony. We don't want to add on more charges or anything like that. >> I just need to check for weapons is totally fine. >> And then I'll say Turn around. Face Face the wall. Face the wall. Lean up against it for it, officer. >> In the end, both of them were charged with felony shoplifting. When denial becomes the first instinct instead of honesty, it rarely stops the truth from catching up. Actions leave evidence, and once suspicion turns into investigation, the outcome is is already set in motion. What do you think about cases like this?
