I'm Kevin Kazmaier antenna makes a police department one of my job functions is working with the Mesa police department bomb squad recently we have an incident out at phoenix-mesa gateway airport where a subject put this in a checked luggage and it was found by TSA and we got a call for service out there we run into a lot of explosives in Mason and throughout the state one of the things we run into our military ordinances this happened to be a non-functioning grenade that man purchased at a antique store you can find these at gun shows and I'm sure surplus stores the big thing that we are concerned about from the bomb standpoint is if you find something suspicious please don't touch it leave it alone call the police department and it will come out and determine where they need to call it the bomb squad some other functions that we do is we have we respond to suspicious packages where somebody's left a briefcase a backpack in an unusual place and we will come out and determine whether it's actually a suspicious package or not we have kids that make up the devices and put them in mailboxes that they'd like to see them blow up we have even though most fireworks are illegal in Arizona we still have people that bring things in from other states front of mailboxes or or do something else with them that we are called out for so if if there is a resident or someone I know that I've been involved with calls where people you'll have an maybe a widowed wife who will find something her husband shed after many years dynamite that looks very old or or as you said ordinance or old firearms or things like that in that type of a setting what's your best advice for them when they come across something like that if it's if they have an idea what it is it's nice to convey that to the officer but the first thing you want to do is call for police service to come out and determine that see what it is we do a lot of the calls for service we have are from the widow or something that husband was into mining or something and he had some old I am I playing around old blasting caps and we do run into that quite often in the state of the bumps quest throughout the state and country running again once again the biggest thing is don't touch it don't move it especially if it's old dynamite or blasting capsules are very dangerous if they're very gold and call for police to come look at it and they will get in touch with the bones fun to come out to determine the best course of action to take for those items so you're saying I mean some people may even be tempted depending upon where they find it too I want to move it real quick to to a safer area and then I'll call the police and you're you're advising against that just leave it where lay and clear the area exactly the safest the safest place work is right where you found it because it has a function yet so that is the best place to keep it until people with some expertise to come there and determine what it really is
