[snorts] Yet, all that bravado came crashing down the moment the police stepped in. The outcome would unfold in the video when Walmart shoppers think they're untouchable ends badly. For every wrongdoing, we provide educational stories. If you enjoy them, like and subscribe to catch the latest videos. Starting with this foolish customer. She believes she could fool the police with childish lies. >> I believe you shop with >> Am I being detained? >> You are, ma'am. >> What am I being detained for? >> For shoplifting. >> Apologize. Okay. >> Okay. >> Yes. I took took something with >> On June 13th, 2024, police were dispatched to a shopping mall after receiving reports of a theft. The suspect was a woman who had stuffed clothing from the Nike store into her bag. To verify the situation, officers collected all statements from the employee. So, it's the lady here behind you, but she's checking out at this point. She has her bag, but she doesn't conceal it in her bag. >> What was it? in her bag. >> So when Jake opened her up for her, he looked her back was open and I guess and he saw stuff in her bag. >> The uh the purse. >> Yes. >> But we don't know though at all. Is there >> He might have gotten it on video. I don't know. He went to >> What kind of stuff would it be? >> Men's Nike clothing. I'm pretty sure. >> Okay. J, did you have it on video? >> 1518. >> I'm okay. >> Like, what kind of stuff would it be? >> Uh, it was in the men's 19 section. >> Shirts or tell you. I'm not sure. >> Shoes. Okay. When we got here, I'll talk to her when I go. >> At that moment, police noticed the suspect seemed ready to leave upon seeing them. So, they quickly gave chase. It seemed she appeared completely unaware of what was unfolding. >> Hey hun, >> come here for a minute. >> I'll come down with you. >> So you have to walk back up. >> Yes. >> How are you? >> I'm good. >> I'm talk to you at the bottom. How are you? >> I'm fine. >> You do have a female. >> For what? >> All right. Where was the mail at? >> This is crazy. I'm a dip. If you come to me, I'm a double. [clears throat] >> Oh my god. I really don't have I don't have to talk to nobody. So, I'm >> You do have to talk to us. >> What do I do? >> Uh, we believe you stuffed stuff in your purse and walked out of the dicks with it. >> No, I have not. No, I have not. So, do do have do you have me on camera doing that? >> We do. >> Okay. Can you show me? >> We'll get to it. >> Yeah. ID on you. >> Do Do I have ID on you? >> We don't have to go that far. Yes, we do have to go that far because I I haven't I [laughter] haven't touched nothing. So therefore, can you can you show Can you show me on camera? Then I took something. >> Here's where we're going to start. >> The woman didn't even seem surprised by the accusations. Her immediate defensive excuses only made her actions appear more suspicious and even her stammering at this point. >> I believe you shoplift. >> Am I am I being detained? >> You are. >> Yes, ma'am. >> What am I being for? >> For shoplifting. Theft. >> What did I What did I take? >> We don't know yet. We got >> some green items. >> Some green items. >> Nike items. >> No, I have not. >> Okay. Well, you still have to tell me who you are. >> Soon as soon as I walked up, the lady was like, "Oh, um, are you paying for that hat?" I said, "The head that I the head that I walked in here with?" >> Why would I be paying for a head that I walked in here with? >> Okay. >> I'm being I'm being pro I'm being profiled for what? >> What's your social security number? >> Am I being What am I being detained? >> You are being detained. >> Because of what? >> Because of a theft or possible theft? >> A possible theft. Did you see me? Did they see me take anything? Did you guys >> That's why we're here, ma'am. >> Did you see me on camera? >> That's why that's why we're here. We just don't come here and talk to random people about >> Okay. So, this is this is how it can go. I want to be cooperative today, but I'm asking you. Did you see me on camera? >> Detained. >> We're investigating a theft. I need to know. Did >> you see me on camera? Take anything. >> We'll get to that. I need to know who you are. >> My name is Cameron. >> Honey, cooperate with us. We'll cooperate with you. It's It's Even if you did, it's a misdemeanor. We don't We're not here. But if you don't work with us, we're not going to work with you. We've got a few options that we can do. >> I understand that, but sir, I did not. So, the fact that >> Okay, so listen. >> I don't even know about that. >> Cuz that's that's that's what I'm thinking. You you got something to refer. Hey hat that I came I walked into the store with they didn't say anything to me. They didn't stop me. Hey, did you have anything? They didn't say anything to me. So that's >> me. That's fine. We don't care about the hat. We don't care about the hat. Okay. This is all we This is all we're saying. We got information that you put some stuff in your purse. >> No. >> From that changing room. You're on video of doing it. We're here to ask you. >> I'm on video stuff in the changing room. Is there >> Clearly, the woman made things more difficult by demanding proof from the video of her taking items. Yet, she refused to show what was in her bag. Do you have anything in your purse that there shouldn't be? >> No. >> Do you mind if I look? >> No. Do you have anything stuck in your clothing? >> No. If you if you can if you can show me on camera that I took that I that I took anything from out there. Yes. I'm not I'm not I'm not doing that. >> We're not. >> Copy. We're going to have her detained. Step over here to my car with me, please. >> For what? >> We're not done here. >> Let's go. >> I'm trying to do this easy. >> Okay. Let me Can you >> So, at this point, you're not making calls. You're coming with us. >> Can you Can you call Can you call your supervisors? I am the supervisor. >> You're the supervisor. >> And you're sitting up here. You're sitting up here telling me I'm detained because of what? >> Because of a theft. Possible theft. That's what we're here investigating. We're trying to do this easy. >> Okay. >> I mean, we're not here to We don't just come here and harass people. We don't even want to come here, >> right? But I'm trying to figure out why. So you >> need a female. >> So you guys, >> go ahead with it. >> What? What? What? What? What? Cameron Patrice died female out of Cincinnati. >> She's suspended and showing out of Indiana, South Africa. >> That's clear. What for? >> Do I have anything as far as like, you know, do will they get in trouble for accuse me of something that I have that I have not took it? >> No. They get stolen from pretty often. They're pretty good at this. >> Okay. Well, that's that's them. But I'm actually >> So, what we're going to do, we're going to set your bag on the hood of my car and you're going to have a seat in the in the back of my car while we figure this out. >> No, that's not >> You're being detained for right What am I being detained for? >> This was the third time the woman asked this question and all her actions seemed only to prolong the situation, preventing the police from securing her bag. >> Stuff stuffed in your shirt bag. >> But you can't tell me prove then prove it. Give me your bag. Let us and we'll be done. >> You can't you you No, you you didn't you didn't tell you didn't show me. >> Give me this phone. Give me your bag. Do not pull away from me. Give me your bag. >> Why are you taking my This is This is This is wrong. Are we Are we being recorded? Are Are you guys a process? We're going to a process. >> Okay. But this is wrong. We're going to go in and verify the cameras right now. You're going to be detained until we're done. >> That's all we're doing. >> Okay. So, why are why are you taking my purse? >> We're not taking your purse. But you can't go in the back of that cruiser with >> We don't We wouldn't If you were a male with anything, you don't go in the back of a cruiser with anything. >> Why do I have to sit in the car? >> Cuz we got to go look at the video. >> Why can't I come get the video video with you? That's our job, not yours. >> I've never I've never been through ever to wear a date. >> And we're trying to be real nice with you. I mean, we're not trying to be rude. If you just if if there's nothing in that personality, we're done. We're done. >> I've never been through this situation to where >> you're not answering the question. >> Okay. >> Give me your purse and you're having a seat in the back of your car. >> I'm going to go with the camera. Like I said, there's several ways we can do this. >> Sir, can you not Why you Why you grabbing me like that? >> I'm not grabbing you anything. >> They Why are y'all taking my purse? >> Your getting set up here. >> Okay. >> You don't have anything on you, do you? >> No, I don't have anything on like knives or anything. >> No, not on. No, I don't. The woman desperately tried to deny everything and the situation began to unravel further when the police discovered items commonly used by thieves to bypass security alarms. >> Why would you have it in there and I don't understand it? >> Because that's from that's a barbecue >> to block the things that you walk through. >> No, I was getting No, that's from the barbecue. >> Did you pay for these items? >> They're not from the store. So, I was going up there trying to put trying to put things together. The lady even seen me. >> Get back in the car. >> I'm sorry. I apologize. >> We know you're being nice. I know you're nervous. We're trying to make this easier. >> The lady even seen me take my like >> The lady saw you put these in her purse. >> No, not put them not put it in my purse at all. >> They have you on video putting these in your purse. >> They don't have me on I can promise you they don't have me on video because I brought them in here with me. >> Well, we're going to go in and verify that. >> Step out and turn around and put your hands on you. >> I'm going to go in there and see what we got. >> Why you put five handcuffs on? He just said >> why you put handcuffs on you? >> Because you're lying. >> I sir I'm not. I promise you. >> Step out here. >> I promise you if >> just put your hands behind your back. Okay. If you if you go in and see the video, you'll see that I've not had >> I have I have my partner in there right now looking at the video, and he just said that you're on video placing those items in your purse. >> No, sir. I have not. I promise you. >> So, let's see if this woman's promises hold true. By reviewing the surveillance footage with the loss prevention team, it seems she may have broken them. >> Anything? Correct. >> No, kept on getting >> a female with the brown or burgundy shirt. She's on camera place some clothing items in her black bag, >> but she does like hide hangers back here, which I actually think that she had pocketed. >> She gave a sensor tag to one of our employees after she came out of the room and claimed it popped off. >> Yeah, I said [laughter] that happened. >> That didn't happen. >> Not suspicious at all. Can I please say something please? Please please please apologize. Okay. >> Okay. >> Yes. I took took some things but all of the things were not from this location to be exact. So once the lady was like oh uh are you going to pay for that? Are you going to pay for that sun visor hat? That's what threw me off of her. That's what made me was like okay I'm about to I'm about to just leave. So that's >> and the woman confessed to everything yet refused to take responsibility for her actions even as the item she was wearing had to be confiscated by the police. Is that it? >> That's it. >> All right, you can cover yourself back up. >> That works. >> That's it. >> Okay, >> that's it. >> Put your hands when you're back again. Okay. >> Okay. >> We'll fix your shirt. >> It's this like it's just the back out. Yeah. >> Oh, the front part. Sorry. Yeah. All right. Have a seat. >> Okay. >> Uh the way you were when we first started talking to you, he wants you to go to jail. You will you will have a bond. Okay. So, you can call somebody and they can come get you out through a bondsman for 10%. The suspect was charged with theft. Refusing to take responsibility and attempting to manipulate the situation only made matters worse. Cooperating with authorities from the start is always the safer choice. Escalating even further, the woman effectively chose a bitter outcome for herself. >> No, I'm not going to jail FOR ASKING YOU FOR YOUR BADGE NUMBER. >> YOU'RE GOING TO JAIL >> FOR asking you for your badge number. >> Get out of the car. On November 10th, 2023, police received a call from Walmart reporting a woman who had been trespassed but showed up on the property. Even after being warned, she had no intention of leaving. As officers approached, the situation instantly escalated as she was completely unwilling to cooperate. >> All right, I'm not going. >> You are trespassed from here. You come back here, I take you to jail every day. >> Well, use the other one. >> Do not come back here. You tres >> management just trespass you. If you come back, you go to jail. >> Come in your stall. It's been money. >> You come back, you go to jail. Ma'am, you've been trespassed. >> Talk for him. >> Shut the up. >> You told me not to talk. So I ain't >> You were trespassed. >> You know that don't lie on me. >> You were trespassing. You need to leave. You need to leave. Did I not? >> You need TO LEAVE. >> SO WHY ARE YOU TALKING TO ME LIKE THIS? >> WHY ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? >> SO YOU MEAN TO TALK? just said you trust me. >> Do I want to spend my money? >> You cannot. >> I Yes, I can. You don't have paper. >> Then come back AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. >> I HAVE APPOINTMENTS. >> Come back and see what happens. You have a good day. You trespass. You come back ABOUT MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. >> There's other >> Walmarts. You come back, you go to jail. >> My schedule appointment. >> I AM NOT TRESPASS. WHERE'S MY PAPERWORK? >> It's on body camera. >> Give me my paperwork FOR MY >> THERE'S NO PAPERWORK. You come back, you go to jail. >> WHERE IS MY PAPERWORK? YOU NOT GOING TO SEND ME TO JAIL? NO. HOLD ON. WAIT. >> It was clear that the woman was seated in her vehicle, moving around and arguing. She could have left calmly, but she chose not to. When she stepped out of the car, the situation quickly became more complicated. >> Uh 22. >> I need paperwork for that. >> You need >> I need paper. You're not going to take me? >> Yeah, you can send me a 45. >> I'mma sue you. >> And now you're going to go to jail. You don't Hey, you don't leave. You're going TO GO TO JAIL. I DO NOT CARE. >> YOU HAVE PAPERWORK. >> YOU ARE TRESPASSED. >> I NEED PAPERWORK FOR MY >> YOU'RE GOING TO GO TO JAIL. >> You're going to go to jail. You're trespassed. >> You want me to be trespassing, sir? >> He already said it. You trespassed. >> And I need paperwork for that. >> You get no paperwork. >> Yes, I do get paperwork for that. >> Listen, >> you guys want to press charges? >> No. >> If you don't get You want me to get trespass? >> Let her know she's trespassed. If you don't leave, you're going to go to jail. >> You are trespassed from this Walmart. If you do not leave, you're going to go to jail. I need paperwork. >> YOU DON'T NEED PAPERWORK. >> YES, I DO need I need paperwork for trespassing. >> You were going to go to jail. >> I'M NOT I'M NOT BEING BLISTERING. I'M NOT BEING VIOLENT. >> We're done. >> I need paperwork for my trespassing. >> You're going to go to jail. >> You're not going to arrest me. >> You guys want to You guys want to press charges? >> She's refusing to leave and she's >> refusing to leave. >> Then leave NOW OR YOU GO TO JAIL. >> I'M SUING. >> THEN SUE. LEAVE OR YOU GO TO JAIL NOW? >> I'm suing you. >> I'm s >> You can me all day. I >> you come back, I take you to jail. >> Um, what's your badge number? >> 35206. >> CAN YOU WRITE IT DOWN FOR IT? >> LEAVE. >> NO, I need your information. >> The woman had indeed succeeded, but only in testing the officer's patience to the limit, which immediately led to exactly what the police had warned her about, but in an extremely chaotic manner. >> Leave right now or you go to jail. >> What's your badge number? >> Get out THE CAR, SIR. GET OUT THE CAR. I I HAVE THE RIGHT TO ASK YOU FOR YOUR BADGE NUMBER. >> DON'T TOUCH ME. DON'T TOUCH ME. YOU DON'T TOUCH ME. >> YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. >> DON'T TOUCH ME. >> You are going to jail, >> sir. I just asked you for your badge number. >> You're going to jail. >> All I needed was your badge. >> I'm going to need a statement. I'm going to need a statement. You're going to jail. >> NO, I'M NOT GOING TO JAIL FOR ASKING YOU FOR YOUR BADGE NUMBER. >> YOU'RE GOING TO JAIL >> FOR ASKING you for your badge number. >> Get out of the car. >> NO. GIVE ME MY KEYS. Give me my keys. >> You just earned your ticket to jail. >> Give me my keys. No. I >> Ma'am, I'm going to pepper SPRAY YOU. >> DON'T PEPP YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO A WOMAN. YOU CANNOT DO THIS TO A A WOMAN. >> YOU UNDER GET OUT OF THE CAR. >> YOU CANNOT DO THIS TO ME. >> GET OUT OF THE CAR. >> YOU CANNOT DO THIS TO A WOMAN, SIR. You can give me my key. YOU CANNOT DO THIS TO A WOMAN. YOU CAN'T >> YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. STOP. YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. >> YOU CANNOT TO A I'M not doing anything. >> I'M GOING TO CHARGE YOU WITH RESISTANCE. >> I AM NOT RESISTING. >> PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. I AM NOT. I'M GOING. >> PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND your back. >> Officer Jo, >> put your hands behind your back. >> Only thing I did was ask you for your badge number. >> Can you >> ONLY THING I DID WAS ASK YOU FOR YOUR BADGE NUMBER. >> PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> The only thing I've asked you for your badge number. That's all I asked you for. >> You're going to jail. >> Only thing I asked you. >> What are you looking for? >> I'm not GOING TO HURT YOU. >> OH, the only thing I've asked you for is your best number. >> I'M GOING TO CHARIZE YOU WITH RESISTANCE. I am not resisting you. >> She offered no physical resistance. She simply refused to comply with the officer's orders, making it difficult for them to act. Even at this point, she believed that her rights were being violated. >> Follow me. You're not supposed to do this to a woman. >> You are going to jail. >> I'm not supposed to do this to a woman. >> You're going to jail. >> You're not supposed to do >> I gave you multiple warnings. >> You didn't give me warnings. >> THEY GAVE YOU WARNINGS. >> WHY ARE YOU HURTING ME? >> Stop moving. >> Why are you hurting me? >> Stop moving. Relax. >> STOP MOVING. STOP. >> WHY ARE YOU HURTING ME? YOU NOT I'M NOT MOVING. >> I'm done talking to you. You're going TO JAIL. >> WHY? I'M NOT MOVING. WHY ARE YOU HURTING ME? >> YOU'RE GOING TO JAIL. >> Why are you hurting me? >> Where's your Where's your ID? >> I JUST TRIED TO GIVE IT TO YOU FOR you to trespass ME. REMEMBER? WHY ARE YOU HURTING ME? WHY ARE YOU HURTING ME? YOU KNOW I'M NOT. YOU KNOW I JUST TRIED TO GIVE YOU MY ID. >> IT'S TOO LATE FOR THAT. It's too late for that. >> It's too late for that. >> YOU'RE GOING TO JAIL. >> YOU HAVE A WHOLE DASH CAMERA ON. >> I just asked you for your information. Give me my keys to my vehicle. >> YOU ARE GOING LISTEN, YOU WANT ME TO DRAG YOU? >> MY BELONGINGS AND MY KEYS TO MY VEHICLE. My belongings and my keys to my vehicle. Are you serious right now? Are you serious right now, DUDE? I HAVE THE RIGHT TO ASK YOU FOR YOUR BADGE NUMBER. >> I gave you MY NUMBER THAT INFORMATION. >> I GAVE you my badge number. >> I did not write it down. >> I did not write it down, sir. >> I did. I was trying to log IT IN MY PHONE. SIR, WHY ARE YOU WHY are you yanking me around like this? >> Why are you yanking me around like this? >> I am going to sue you on my word. I promise you on all >> You can sue me all you want. I don't give a damn. >> There was absolutely no recognition of wrongdoing. The woman did nothing to improve the situation. In fact, she shamelessly yelled at those around her, portraying herself as the victim. >> Y'all cannot DO THIS TO A WOMAN. I'm going to pull up to her car ID in the car. >> I need I need my ID. >> Can one of you guys transport? >> Let me just pull up to her car and get her ID. Okay. >> I need my belongings. >> I got voicemail. >> I have worked too hard for this. ARE YOU NOT GOING to give me >> my sir? My car is left. I have >> He's going right now. He's going right now. >> He's going to get all that. >> I HAVE WORKED TOO HARD FOR THIS. >> Can we take it down a notch, please? >> I don't want to roll the window up, but you're giving me a headache. It's way too early for this. >> Can I get my ID? >> We're going to get We're I got another officer going to do that. We lock it. >> Yes, we're going to do that. We're going to do that. >> Work too hard for me. >> Okay, we're going to do that for you. >> All year, y'all. >> I am. I said take it down. I'mma roll up. >> All efforts to calm the woman's outburst seemed to fail, forcing the officers to explain once again why the situation had escalated in the first place. >> Okay, regardless of how you feel that it was given, okay, if he gives it to you verbal and you don't move at that point, it is trespass after warning. Regardless of if you feel or not that is correct, that is the law. Okay, you are in a private establishment. You could be trespassed for no reason whatsoever being on a private establishment. And if you refuse to leave or you don't leave on command, that is trespass after warning. Therefore, you are under arrest. Okay? I know this officer and I it doesn't matter how you feel about how he talked to you. Okay? It unfortunately it is what it is. Okay? If you feel disrespect If you feel disrespected, I'm I'm sorry for that. Okay. The the the part the part about yanking if you don't if you don't comply which I saw you weren't >> ma'am ma'am you were you were you were bracing yourself the whole time. That officer had to basically drag you. >> Okay. You're going to get it. It's going to be on the it's going to be on the rest. >> Why would you arrest me for asking you? >> I can't answer those questions again because I came 5 minutes after the car >> and then then I'm telling him that I'm homeless and I have children and I worked really hard. Unfortunately, unfortunately that doesn't remember we talked remember we talked about >> Hey, remember we talked about I'm going to roll the windows back up. We're up here. Okay, we can talk normally. >> His father, >> so I understand you got five kids, but unfortunately it doesn't it that doesn't change the fact that you >> It was truly absurd using her children as an excuse to avoid consequences when this entire situation could have been avoided from the start. Moreover, it was clear that her visit to the store had never been a calm one. She was like loitering in the parking lot coming in to use our bathroom to like shower and stuff. So yesterday I made contact with her. She was super rude and nasty to me. She's like, "Why are you talking to me? It's my job." So she was super short with me. I advised her, "Hey, you can't hold her here. I'm not allowed to." So today, as I'm kicking everyone out like I always do when I work in the morning. >> Yeah. >> I see her car. So he's working off. I'm like, "Hey, you mind coming over there? Help me out. Trust just verbally trespass her. Get her out of here." parked over >> super Nazi right away with him cursing at him, calling him names and everything. And then she just wouldn't leave. Like told her like a 100 times she's like, "Hurry up and just leave. Just leave." And then she just kept running her mouth, cursing everything. He's like, "If you [clears throat] don't leave, you're going to jail." And she's disrupting the business out of the parking lot. We got an event going on. So she was refusing to leave. We have press charges. Yeah. >> And then she didn't want to get out of the car. She was resisting him and everything. Was fighting with him. There you go. Did it >> for herself? >> Exactly. >> She was subsequently held overnight at the police station. And even the next morning, her anger showed no signs of abating. >> Yo, you met me before. >> We got off on the wrong start. >> N we didn't. No, we didn't. With this fake resisting arrest when you know I'm talking to you asking for your badge number, you yanked on me. You turned my vehicle out and yanked me out of my >> for asking for your badge number. >> Because you UNDER ARREST. >> NO, I WASN'T UNDER ARREST. You made me under arrest because I asked you for your badge number. Officer Joseph, >> you made me under arrest. You know my name. You know my name because you GAVE IT TO ME. I DON'T KNOW YOUR BADGE NUMBER. >> 35206. >> I need Oh, it's going to be on my paperwork now. Don't worry. I got >> It's under I asked you for and then you arrested. >> You want me to say it slower? 35306. >> No, you don't have to say it slower for him. Don't talk for him. >> Patrice, do you have anything? >> I don't have anything on me and I didn't even want him touching me and touching on me. >> Okay. >> He searched me already. He wasn't supposed to touch on me. I don't I didn't feel comfortable with him even touching all on me. >> Okay, man. >> I DONE BEEN ABUSED BY Y'ALL ALREADY. >> YOU JUST STEP RIGHT UP. >> And I'm suing the out of y'all. >> I hope you can help. >> I hope I do, too. >> I can help you. >> The city. The city. >> The woman was charged with trespassing and resisting arrest without violence. Stubbornness and refusal to follow lawful instructions only escalate conflict. Cooperating from the start is always the safer path to prevent chaos and legal consequences. Next, let's meet untrustworthy customers. >> This is mine. >> Why was this in your purse? >> I had it in my hand with my wallet. >> Did you pay for this somewhere? >> I probably threw one in the car. >> And then these ended up inside your sweatshirt. >> Yeah. >> On March 1st, 2025, police were dispatched to Walmart after receiving reports of an ongoing retail theft. The suspects were believed to be two individuals acting together. Upon arrival, officers immediately stopped them, finding both in a state of visible panic. >> Hey guys, stop right here. Okay, let's walk back inside. Let's walk back inside. Okay, >> walk right back inside like 3:15. We'll be out with you. >> We just got to verify something. Okay, we're going to walk over here to the corner. >> Did your card decline or something? >> No, we pay cash. >> You guys pay cash? Yeah. Just just stay right stay right here. Okay. >> Okay. Do you have any weapons on you? >> No. >> Okay. >> Can I just make sure you don't have any weapons on you? >> Here's a receipt. I'll take this over here. Turn around. >> What do you got in here? Do you mind if I look? Don't reach. Don't worry about charger. Don't reach. All right. You got your wallet on you or anything? Can >> I have your ID? Can you throw it out for me? >> Where you guys from around here? >> I'm from Alak. >> Let's go to the LP office. Okay, >> I'll I'll I'll take the cart. Okay. >> Both individuals spoke in rushed, frantic tones, revealing their anxiety, and the situation became problematic when officers began questioning the woman separately. >> Cuz you had your own handheld basket. >> Yeah. Yeah. And then once it got like full cuz he was p throw in it then he just took the basket and threw it in the cart. >> Okay. So who put the the purse in in the carts? >> Would have been him and then the basket but I got >> Was it in your basket first though? >> Deon, is there any like cont or any thing from the store in your purse here? No. >> You mind if I just check? Don't reach. Don't reach. Do you mind if I check? >> I say yeah. Do mind. I was going to say. >> Do you want Can you just show me that there's nothing from >> I was going to say there's literally nothing in here. Why? Why can't I check the rest of this first? >> Cuz I mean, I just don't see the really need necessary. >> Well, I want to make I want If you're saying you didn't steal anything, the only way for me to prove that >> this is this is there. >> This is This is there. >> Yeah, but that's about that's it. >> Okay. I need to verify there's nothing else in there that belongs to the store. So, I need to search this first. That's what I'm saying. >> No, I'm telling you like I'm I'll give you everything that's in there. >> Okay. Can you show me? >> Yeah. I'm going to say this. I'm giving you >> this is from there, too. >> Yeah. But that's that's it. This is mine. >> Why was this in your purse? >> I had it in my hand with my wallet. >> So, did you pay for this? Okay. >> So, other than that, like I'm telling you, everything else that's in here is mine. >> It was then that unpaid items were found inside her bag. Yet, her face remained calm with a hint of unease, suggesting there might still have been more items concealed. >> Can you start pulling stuff out and putting it on here then? Are you saying there's nothing else in there? doesn't see anywhere bad. This is mine. My >> This is not from Walmart. >> It's from Walmart, but it's the one on Walkgan. >> You paid for it >> in Walkan. Yeah. >> Okay. This this everything else is like vape, cigarettes, more vapes. More vapes, keys. I don't know. >> As I said, ain't nothing else in here, bro. I promise you. Like, >> can you open this up? >> Everything else that I bought is in there. >> But you bought What's that right there? What's that? >> That's from >> Can you pull that out? >> Yeah. I was going to say that's from Waggan. I was at the Waga Walmart yesterday with with a buddy. >> Same guy. >> And you purchased this. Do you have a receipt from this? Uh, he should have the receipt. >> Stop reaching your purse. Take this out. I I I'm not going to look into it, but stop reaching for something. Take this out and just put it on the ground. >> Okay. I say I'll promise you they sell the same thing at Walmart. I got it at the Walmart walking and I got the same thing at Walmart. >> Okay. How much did you pay for this? >> Yeah, it was like $59. >> $59? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Clearly, the woman had nothing to substantiate her claims. Even about what happened that day, she remained confident in her story, unaware that she had already drawn attention. >> All right, so walk me through what happened today, who put what in the cart. >> Everything. So, everything that got put in a cart was I had a basket that had my stuff in it and that when the basket started getting overfilled, he put the basket in the cart. >> Like the handheld basket? >> Yeah, like the handheld basket. He dumped it in the cart. >> All right. And then did you who paid for what? Who paid for what? >> We paid for it to set like together. So like I scanned all >> and then mine was $62 or something like that and then he scanned all the rest of his stuff and it was $88. >> All right, Deon, be honest with me cuz they have cameras on each of those selfch checkckout registers. When we watch the video footage, am I going to see you skip scanning any product, anything? >> I like I said, I I everything I scan I put on there. And if I didn't want it, I told him to take it off and I handed it to the guy. >> To which guy? the the one that was standing the worker. >> Yeah, the worker. He took every one of them. >> How did these end up in your purse? >> I was literally walking with my wallet like this. So, like I had it like this. >> No, no, don't grab them. >> I'm No, I'm just saying like if I had it like this, I was walking like that. >> And you put these in your purse? >> Yeah, I put all of this like that. >> Why did >> I Where did you get this stuff? >> The makeup aisle. >> Okay. >> I wasn't even like I couldn't even feel it when I'm like sitting like this. >> Okay. >> You can't feel that. But I was going to say it's like5 $6. Did you put it this stuff in your purse with that stuff right after you picked it up off the aisle or when you were walking out? >> What? Well, an aisle. >> In the aisle. Okay. >> I'm pretty sure. >> What's that? >> If you go to the towel aisle right now, >> I guarantee you the package for that quartz he was talking about in there. >> And it was the cord he was concealing in your guys' cart. >> Uh-huh. I guarantee it. Because he threw something up in the pallet tower was like, "Oh, I don't want this anymore." And it looked like a box. >> So, you saw him conceal? No, but I didn't think it was a key. I thought he just threw the box strap and was like, I don't want this anymore. He put on the face. >> So, where did you where did you get this from? >> Walk. >> Walk. How about this? >> Walk. Walmart. >> Okay. >> The woman's account clearly contradicted what the cameras had recorded. To verify the facts, officers then approached the man where another issue emerged. >> Charles, right? Do you go by Charlie? >> Yeah, Charlie's fine. >> Charlie. Okay. I know you've been asked a lot of questions, but here's your opportunity to just be straight with us. Just let me know what happened today, who took what, and what exactly happened. >> Just the phone chargers, but I thought they were going to be already paid for. So, that might was my violence mistake. As far as everything else in the park, I'm just a guy. I was just standing there. >> The phone chargers? >> Yeah. >> The packaged phone chargers or the unpackaged one? >> The packaged the ones that were in there. >> The loose ones. >> Yeah. I think I >> Okay. So, how how did they come un loose? If they >> I open them cuz I was going to see if they fit the phone. >> When did you open them >> in the store? But I thought she was going to take care of paying them. >> Okay. That doesn't really make sense to me if you're going to pay for Where's the Where's the package? If you un >> I just threw it cuz I'm lazy and didn't want to throw it. I just put it on a shelf. But I thought she had another one so we could scan too. >> How do you think the store was going to figure out how much these were if you didn't have the package? >> Cuz I was going to have I thought that I had another box in here. >> Okay. So, you're telling me you took off the package. Where did you hold these? >> Where were these at? >> They were in my pocket. I was checking them on my phone. >> Okay. Do you see how this looks looks to us? >> Yeah, I know. I'm take the package out. >> I will pay for anything. I >> Why did you put this Why did you put this in your in your pocket here? >> Cuz I thought it was already paid for. >> At what point did you put it in your pocket? >> When I was walking in the store? Cuz I thought >> Out or in? >> No, it was in the store. >> You were walking in the store and you concealed these in your pocket? >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> Okay. It seemed their story had been rehearsed in advance as they actively shifted blame onto each other, but such excuses only deepened suspicion. >> He's out of your pocket at the register. >> No, I thought the box was in here still cuz I thought I put one box in to [snorts] scan two of them. >> Okay. But you threw but earlier I did throw on the shelf is I was like I just want to be lazy but I said all this other bottom. I didn't know that that was not scanned. You said you could look at the scanner. I was just standing there. But I'll pay for whatever is not paid for. I didn't know the >> So, we're a little bit past that point. Um, and you guys are getting a >> um So, just to make sure I understand it right, you and Devon came in the store together. Who drove? >> Deon. >> Deon. Okay. Is her car out there? Yeah. >> Is there anybody else out in the car? >> What type of car is it? >> What color? >> Gray. >> A license plate off here? >> No. >> Okay. So, you guys come to the store together. What are you trying to get? Like >> I just came here for my phone and I seen the jacket and I was like, "Okay, I'll get the jacket." >> Are you guys going around the store together or are you guys just going separate ways? >> Uh, kind of like half and half. >> Half and half. Okay. Don't Don't answer that right now. I got to talk. >> Put it on. >> You're fine. Okay. So, you're in the store. Who picked up these from the shelves? Who when they were boxed? Who? >> I did. >> You did? Yeah. >> Okay. And then you said you unpackaged both of them. >> Yeah. And I thought I throw a box in the truck in the cart. >> Okay. and you put the other box on the shelf somewhere >> and threw one of the cards >> and then these ended up inside your sweatshirt. >> Thus, despite refusing to admit wrongdoing and framing everything as an unintentional accident, they ultimately could not escape the law. >> Okay. And you're claiming you thought she was going to pay for them. >> Yeah. Cuz like I said, I want to do I come in here shop a lot, too. And I know I don't steal. >> Okay. >> Okay. And this is all the stuff that was not not paid [clears throat] for. >> Okay. Who submitted payment into these into the uh selfch checkout? >> She did. I just gave her I gave her 80 bucks for what was mine? >> Okay. >> You know, you were doing a quick math thing. I gave her $88. >> You gave her $88 in cash? >> Yeah, cuz it was 80 and then she put her cash in and there was still like 7 something [snorts] 863 left. Yeah, >> you guys both came into the store together. You're telling me you concealed these in your I know you're saying you just did you wanted to pay, but you concealed these in your jacket. >> Walmart has video footage and they're showing us that $91.86 worth of stuff was not paid for. Okay. So, at this time, you both are going to be placed under arrest for retail theft. We're going to go back to the police department, do some processing, and we'll figure it out from there. Okay? So, I need you to turn around, put your hand hands behind your back. >> Both of them were charged with retail theft. Refusing to take responsibility and hiding behind excuses only makes the consequences worse. Honesty and cooperation from the start are always the wiser choice. Next, the illegal man tried to outsmart the police, but it ended badly. >> Where were you right before this? As in within the last hour. On November 7th, 2024, police received a call from Walgreens reporting a man secretly stealing gift cards and replacing them with counterfeit ones. When officers approached, they stopped his vehicle as he attempted to flee, but immediately encountered their first communication barrier. >> Were you just inside? Were you inside the store? >> No. >> Hey, question for you. Was that guy in the store? >> Yeah. >> Where was he in the store? >> That's where we're going. We're checking it right now. We just started business, but um >> so he was by the gift cards. >> Okay. They told me he walked around. >> Yeah. >> Did like a whole walk and then he went to >> my coworker Greg. He just like stared at him while he was looking at them. He said didn't see him do anything to get first, but then the guy just walked out. That's when >> the man's denial directly contradicted the employees statements. At that point, to support the store's report, staff presented concrete evidence. So, uh, we have the guy detained outside right now. Yeah. >> He went to the graph in Walgreens. >> I I was on the phone with the manager and he's like describing what he looks like and I'm like, "Wait, he's >> he plays gift cards in the store." >> Yeah. So, that's why I was checking my cameras to see. >> Yeah. That's been the new thing lately. Apparently, as people put in the store, >> customers come back and stuff obviously. >> Yeah. >> Cuz they do such a good job. >> You never catch anyone. So, this is so exciting. >> Are you able to see on the cameras? Uh, that's what I >> if he puts any gift cards out. >> Um, it's going to be hard. I can ask my front cashier, too. >> Okay. >> I was just >> So, cuz that's what they had on camera in crafting is that he's like taking gift cards and putting them out. >> Yeah, he was definitely down that aisle when >> I said people looking cuz he I think he thought I was suspicious. >> He's outside right now. I saw him before he left. So, >> I know. I saw we were watching the camera and I saw you pull up your eyes. I called graphs and I'm like, "We got them." >> Yeah. All right, we'll get it figured out. Is there any way to know what like numbers you guys already have here? >> No. And they're sneak. Like they do such a good job. I can call graphic and see which on these were tampered with. >> Okay. Yeah, >> but they do such a great job. It's >> ridiculous. Returning to the man, officers continued attempting to obtain a statement from the suspect, whose simple answers nevertheless raised serious suspicion. Where were you right before this? As in within the last hour, >> go. Did you make any of their stops >> at any of their businesses recently? >> No. >> Where was the last place that you stopped? Okay. What you say? >> I asked him if like he went anywhere else besides here. He said he was in Chicago and then he said that uh asked did you stop anywhere else in the last hour? He said I went somewhere. I don't know where it was. >> In reality, the man was part of an organized criminal group operating illegally, moving from store to store to commit theft. The counterfeit cards he swapped in were so convincing that even employees struggled to tell real from fake. And I put a tampered gift card. You come in as a customer. You buy this gift card. >> Yeah. >> This $100 is now in my pocket and you are out $100. >> How do you get Do you just steal the gift card to start? >> Yeah. They come and they steal the gift cards, they go home, they tamper them. >> Okay. So, these aren't loadable amounts. There's already money. Like there's these if you buy them. That's only one value with these ones, right? >> Yeah. I mean, I don't I don't know if they've tampered the ones. I don't think they do those cuz it would be low money >> potentially. >> So, we're looking like $1,500 each if we can figure out which ones were tampered with. >> Yeah. But like I've had two cases in my store in the last month >> of tampered gift cards. >> Yeah. >> Hi. >> Did you guys do like the reboot thing >> with your gift cards? >> Like the reset? The reset? >> Yeah. Okay. >> So, >> so they just pulled off all the ones that are open. some that looks essentially weird. Was this one one of the ones? >> That was one of them. Yeah. >> Yeah. This one actually has a fingerprint on it. >> Most of them didn't have that new update. Most of them were the old ones with the like tags at the top. >> So something they pulled off. >> That was weird. >> So what's pulled off on them? >> The tags like >> like the tags. >> Oh, that like sometimes like that pin number will be scratched off. >> Won't hold like a tank. And like these are the updated ones that have the red part, but then like the older one >> doesn't have this red part and it has like a tab that you pull off. >> Thus, through the matt of their professionalism, officers uncovered the subtle differences hidden behind the gift cards. Moreover, the team outside identified new leads that helped bring the case into clear focus. >> Double bag there and a double bag there. He stuff that down in there just now, too. >> Oh, perfect. >> That wasn't All of you still won't face vehicle. Hang on to this. >> Yep. That's okay. We'll put it right here just for a minute. You put your hands up. >> All right, ma'am. Thank you so much for your service. >> The uh >> I have plain deal. >> Oh, and he stuffed that duffel bag down since we got here. Thank you. >> All of you, come over with me to my car. >> Good work. >> We'll get it >> right over here, sir. >> Would you be able to add him to the police? >> Thank you. Even before removing anything from his bags, officers realized the man's story was a lie. What truly shocked them was the sheer number of counterfeit cards involved. >> Go look in that bag. Pick it up. >> Just fold it. >> Yeah. There's like hundreds, sometime thousands in there. >> Yep. Let's call DHS. >> Wait, can we go over and open it up? Go. >> You didn't do anything. >> You didn't do anything. And then just close it and walk away. No run thing. >> That's a pretty good scam. >> This back one's full full, too. >> How did this start to come out of grafting? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. They had them on >> They saw him doing it in grafting. Yeah, I know. >> I was trying to do photos where everything is. >> Taking all the evidence from the car. Ultimately, he had 1,87 gift cards in his possession and was charged with three counts of uttering a forgery, three counts of unauthorized use of an entity's identifying information or documents, and one count of financial transaction card forgery. Organized deception and rehearsed lies may delay the truth, but they cannot prevent it. Criminal schemes always unravel under careful investigation, and the next case showed the consequences of protecting a criminal. You better stop. >> Get out of the car. >> I swear to God, it was Let's just >> On February 25th, 2022, police responded to a reported theft at Walmart. The suspect was known to have committed similar offenses before and had prior trespassing violations. Upon arriving at the scene, the situation immediately descended into chaos. >> HEY, PLEASE STOP. YOU BETTER STOP. Get out of the car. >> Get out of the car. Get out of the car. >> 304. >> 304. Are you at Walmart still? >> Yeah. Had a vehicle just run from me. Uh, looks like they're going out towards the loop. It's a white. Looks like a Chevy passenger car. >> First digit. >> They're going out towards four street >> Impala. It's >> going to be a Chevy Impala. Look like a black female driving. >> The subject evaded and resisted. >> The female has a violent um leopard. will get charged too soon. >> So, the driver in the vehicle also cooperated by fleeing with the suspect. At this point, police and store staff were able to clearly verify and confirm the events. >> Cuz now we're going to follow this whole who who saw everything. >> Well, they were all doing it. He went So, I think um Brady got the selection on the speaker. By the time I met up, he had the speaker next to the backpack and then I watched him take it out of the packaging and put it in the backpack. And I think Marshall seen it as well. We can do a statement, right? Yeah. All right. >> I got to head to work. Um >> Yeah, don't worry about it. >> But I just got to get everybody who saw info. >> Okay. >> Was everything recovered or? >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> Where' she drop the stuff at? >> Oh, it was a female. >> No, it it was a >> I think it was a female. >> That's a female. I thought it was a dude just cuz it was huge. >> Is this? Yeah. >> Serious. >> Look. Oh, wow. That's a female. >> That's a female. >> They must be lesbians. >> It has to be >> or family. I don't know that. I look like a dude >> at first. From my point of view, yes. I could not tell. And I was not going to keep looking either. >> So, everything was recovered. >> Yeah. >> Where did she ditch the stuff at? >> Right at the uh right at the entrance right there. the guard after she spout 157. >> She left [clears throat] right there. >> She dumped the cart after all the sales ran. >> You got that >> everything in the bag. Yeah. >> Yeah. We need >> When I went after her. >> Yeah. Look at that whole thing. >> I almost got her. >> I got >> Good job. >> What's the 1337? And I've got all his stuff here. It's a >> remote start. >> What is that? >> Everything they're trying to steal. >> That's all his >> The suspect's identities and the vehicle's license plate were confirmed. Based on this information, another team intercepted the car as it arrived near the suspect's residence. >> Hello. Can you roll the back window down for me? >> All right. >> Okay. >> Yes. I just came from Walmart. >> Yes, ma'am. You sure did. They just tried to attack me. >> You had an officer. >> Yes, ma'am. He just tried to attack me when I took off and he scratched me at 157 resisting an officer and evading the scene is not how you solve that problem, right? >> Well, I was scared. Like I had six people on me. >> They're doing they're doing um a shoplifting scene. >> I went in there to go get a camera. I had my doctor. I have a sneaker and I have a pair of boxes that belong to my brother that is in that bag. >> Okay. >> That was already in the bag when I went to Walmart. >> All right. Do you have your license with you or an ID of some sort? >> No, ma'am. I'm I was going around the corner to go talk to my mom, but I live. >> Okay. What's your name? >> I'm on probation. That's why I ran. I got scared cuz I did I before I went to jail and got on probation, I got in trouble for shopping. Okay. At that Walmart and I was told not to go back cuz that's the only Walmart that had my license. The woman went to a location where she knew she was trespassing. Her excuses seemed entirely unconvincing. And shortly afterward, she also had a separate story written. >> In the store, all I did was go straight to the auto. I asked the man if he had the light bulb. He said, "They don't have my light bulb in." I walked out to electronics to see if cuz my phone is broke. >> So, I tried to see if they had a phone like a unlock phone for straight talk. Okay? >> And the lady said they didn't. And the only one they had was the 11 and I was in the car. After that, I went out the uh garden center. Whole bunch of people started coming at me, scratching me, pulling on me, and I got scared. So, I I got in the car. Okay. And then the officer had his hand on his gun. I got scared. I got I'm on probation. I said, "Okay." Well, we made a series of not so wonderful decisions. Okay. So, now we're going to have to kind of work it out, okay? And figure out what's going to happen. What's going on? Do y'all know who lives here? just where you pulled over. >> I pulled over around this corner over here. I live straight up the road. >> Okay. Okay. Yeah, they were able to get the license plate on the vehicle and that I just left your house while you're driving. >> I just got scared. That's all it really was. >> Okay. Everything. I was just scared. >> Okay. Okay. >> I'm on probation. >> And you said you're on probation for shoplifting? >> No, ma'am. I'm on probation for a DWI. >> DWI. All right. Well, hang tight. I'll be right back. Okay. What is your name, darling? Yeah, she didn't have nothing to do with me. I got scared and I told her to drive. >> What's your birthday, Miss Washington? >> The female suspect surely knew that her actions would cause serious trouble, but in reality, she had no idea that she was also bringing additional problems onto her friend. >> Okay, Victoria. All right, I have a question. Can you >> Yes. Can she uh drop my car off with my sister and take my car? >> No. Is she going to? >> She doesn't have anything to do with >> Yes, ma'am. because you when the officer >> I'm going to do again. >> Shortly afterward, more stolen items were discovered in their vehicle. >> Okay. >> And she admitted to it. >> Yeah, she admitted to it. I got on BWC. >> What the driver have to say? >> Uh, she said she didn't know what was going on. She was scared. All this other stuff. I got some Walmart Wrangler pants in a bag in here. Yeah, they they saw her little certain thing. It's got to be over over 100. It's going to be There's a 750. >> Okay. I had like a Every time he closes something I think they're hitting your back seat. Okay. So, we got um car freshener, red hoodie that is torn where he grabbed her arm. So, >> the >> Yeah. So, I'll take a picture of that where it in the end, the suspect was charged with theft and resisting arrest and the driver was charged with evading arrest detention. Avoiding, resisting, and deliberately withholding information only makes the situation worse. Cooperating with authorities from the beginning is always the safest choice. Continuing to drag acquaintances into the mess. Grab this queen of trouble. >> Raven. Raven, just stop. If I'm trusting, that's fine. Raven, just stop. I don't HAVE TO COME AT THE >> NO, I'M NOT GOING TO. What is your problem? LIKE I SAID, >> on August 4th, 2023, officers received a call from Walmart regarding a disorderly woman. They immediately arrived at the scene where the chaos appeared to be ongoing with no signs of stopping. Stop. I need you to stop. What's up? >> Step over here. >> Like, stop playing with me. Like, for real. I came from laundry detergent. What's going on? >> She literally I said excuse me to her husband. He moved out the way and everything. She talking about, "Oh, blah blah blah. You said this to my husband, blah, blah, blah." I said, "No." I said, "Excuse me, he moved out the way and everything." >> She the one I went by. >> I'm not going anywhere. So, >> I don't have to. That's fine. That's fine. Like I said, I asked her husband to move out the way. I said, "Excuse me, he move out the way." She talking about, "Oh, she talking about, "Oh, well, you didn't have to say that blah blah blah to my I turned around." She talking about She just started like saying like the most. >> Okay. >> I came here to find you. That's it. >> So, get physical or what's >> No, it's nothing physical. It's just words. >> Just words. >> Yes. Just words. It's nothing physical at all. Nobody put their hands on each other or nothing like that. So, can I leave, please? Can you get your hand on my car? You got ID on you? >> No, it's in the car. >> No. What's your last name? >> My last name? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Now, can we get this going so I can um get my my shopping? >> No, ma'am. We don't dictate this situation. >> Okay, that's fine. But um can we get this going, >> dude? Talking to the lady. >> You don't dictate. So, you're going to keep >> I can do something about that and we can go back to my car. >> That didn't have to happen. >> She didn't have to say [ __ ] at all. >> Clearly, she believed she was the one being provoked. Yet, when the officers tried to resolve the situation, she offered no cooperation at all. >> Okay, I'm going No, no, no, no. I'm going go ahead and get you a bathroom and everything. I'm going go ahead and get your bathroom. I'm going to need your bathroom and everything. >> Let's go to the front of the store. >> This going to have to be written down. >> This going to have to be written down >> because at this point, you got you you approached me but not her. And she's the one who started it. You don't know what started all of this, but she approached me but not her. It's fine. >> No, it's fine. >> Like I said, what is your um Longird. Cloud97. Longird. You can do this in front of your son or we can do this. >> This is not my son. This is my nephew. Okay. You're you're you're just assuming things when you don't know what's going on. So, like I said, >> well, you're more >> in tune to getting my >> No, cuz she's not in a shopping place. When I come over here to look for laundry detergent, you're not going to do that to me. So, like I said, Longberg, what is your badge number? >> 597. >> 597. Thank you. Anything else you need from me? >> Yes, ma'am. >> What is it? Most likely you're going to be trespassed from the store if I don't >> Okay, listen. Listen. Yeah, that's that's fine with me. >> Okay, that's fine with me. Like I said, um I will be having your badge number. And also, >> you already have my badge number also. No, no, no. Also, um >> I will be um Pellis. >> Does it look like I'm Pel? >> No, no. Pineellis, are you Largo? Are you Pelis? Are you Clewater? Are you Largo? Which one are you? >> No, you can. >> Cuz at this point, you approached me. No, no, no. You approached me. It's safe to approach the other lady. How was that? Because has ever been aggressive. >> She completely saw herself as the victim. And even when the officers issued a trespass warning, she showed no concern and continued to accuse the staff with others around her. >> I said I said, "Excuse me." So, her husband, he moved out the way. He didn't say [ __ ] at all. >> He moved out the way. >> So, why so why is he here? That's what I'm saying. >> We got to go for a disturbance. We had four people call. Like I said, you approached me, but you did not approach her. >> I've already explained that to you. >> Like I said, what's the problem? >> I've already explained that to you. >> No, you're not going to You're not going to do that. >> Okay, you can take most likely there's going to be this >> for why you're having an altercation in front of the child. >> He was not He was not right there at the point. So, how? >> She was with your child. >> He was not right there. >> He was literally a whole freaking He wasn't even by me at this point. This lady is argue with me and he want to talk about a DCF case. I'm walking with a toddler. Okay. >> I'm walking with a toddler and this lady literally say something out her mouth like just crazy. I turned around and I said like what what is your problem? Like what's what's going on? So she going to talk about oh you want to say this is my husband this and that blah blah blah. So I told her I said I asked your husband to move out the way and he moved he moved out the way with no problem. That's what I'm that's what I'm getting at right now. He moved out of the way with no problem and he literally he didn't say nothing at all. She the one who was was standing on the side talking at her mouth and I turned around I said like what is the problem like what what like what do you really have going on? So then that's when just all that stuff I came up here looking for laundry detergent like that's just just that period. >> She kept repeating her version of the story unable to stay calm letting her anger spill over to the point that even her friend had to step in to try to calm her down. Where is the lady? >> THIS LADY STARTED. DID NOT APPROACH HER. DIDN'T APPROACH HER AT ALL. >> KEEP your listen. But listen. Okay. So, I have a question. Yes. >> Well, what's going on? Why you approached her? >> Because she was the aggressor from what I did with I didn't hit no. >> No, but it doesn't matter. >> Okay. So, why? So, why? So, what? So, what's going on? Because if she didn't hit no one, then she didn't do anything. >> It's still crimes that it's not no crime with. No, it's not crime. It's not no crime. But this is going on to figure out what's going on because I can't leave this place. >> I can't leave. So I'm trying to >> No, you cannot. >> Raven. Raven, calm down. Just calm down. We don't got to get [ __ ] from out of this place. I don't >> right now [laughter] if she goes to jail OVER RAVEN, STOP IF I'M >> NO. RAVEN. RAVEN, just stop. >> If I'm trusting, that's fine. I'm still trying to stop. Listen, Raven. Raven, stop. I said if I'm trusting >> listen but okay so she okay so where is the other people because you ain't talking to them >> she's got the issue right now so I know >> she has the issue because she has the issue because you're approaching her about something that she didn't do >> okay >> she she can she we have to call mama she are raven like >> the woman's argument had completely disrupted the surrounding customers so she was escorted to the loss prevention office essentially Her anger was just relocated. >> I'm not going to have a seat. I'm good. I'm done standing up. Like, >> where's the other lady at? >> What's up? >> Where is the other lady I got into it with? >> I don't know yet. We have officers looking. >> Okay. So, why do you just have me in here? Whole family crowding around me and I'm by myself. >> WHERE THE SHE AT? >> GET THE >> NO, I'M NOT GOING TO. WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM? LIKE I SAID, now >> where IS THE LADY I JUST GOT INTO IT WITH? Where is the lady I tried to do with? Where is the lady I got to DO WITH? Y'ALL HAVE my sad. I have not done [ __ ] to this lady >> at all. You're pulling my hair. >> Cuz you're resisting. >> Yeah, but I'm not resisting [ __ ] You like I said, I can put the bag down now. >> No, you're good. You're good. >> Like I said, y'all want to approach ME A BLACK FEMALE, BUT DON'T WANT TO APPROACH HER. SHE SAID SOME DUMB [ __ ] HER MOUTH. Go ahead. Put them on nice and snug. Like I said, PUT THEM ON NICE AND SNUG. >> This was the outcome for the woman after she deliberately chose to stay and cause a scene. Yet, it seemed she refused to accept the consequences of her own decision. >> Y'all won't look at nobody else but a black female. I swear to God, y'all won't. Like y'all don't understand that [ __ ] THIS LADY STARTED WITH ME ON HER DUMB ASS MOUTH. Like all I did was come like I didn't even touch her AND SAY [ __ ] TO HER. I didn't touch her AND SAY [ __ ] TO her shop. >> What's your name? >> HE KNOW MY NAME. HE GOT IT. >> I'M ASKING. >> HE HAS MY NAME. >> WE DON'T NEED TO YELL, RIGHT? >> First off. First off, that's not my name. MY NAME IS RAVEN. >> OKAY. HE KNOWS MY NAME. >> HE KNOWS MY NAME. LIKE I SAID, YOUR BATHROOM AND EVERYTHING. [laughter] I swear TO GOD, I CANNOT SIT DOWN. >> I CANNOT SIT DOWN AT ALL. >> You're going to sit. >> No. >> All right, here you go. Damn it. I SWEAR TO GOD. I SWEAR TO GOD. >> I SWEAR TO GOD, BRO. RIVEN, knock it off. ALL RIGHT. >> WRONG WITH Y'ALL. >> WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? >> LIKE I [screaming] SAID, >> CAN I HEAR YOU? >> EVERYTHING [snorts] HAD COMPLETELY spiraled out of control irrationally, and even the actions of her accompanying family member became an issue that the officers had to address. >> I CAME HERE to with me. Close the door. >> You don't want to listen. >> I want to listen. I was telling her to calm down. That's what I said. Calm down. Calm down, bro. >> Yeah. Well, we told you not to knock it, yell. >> I can hear my daughter yelling. I'm telling her to calm down, bro. That's what I'm doing. Telling her to calm down. >> Let me double this. >> But can I ask you a question though, sir? >> In one sec. >> Now, I got to Now, we didn't do nothing wrong. >> You did something wrong. She did something wrong. >> What did she do, sir? back in there with her. So, >> well, can I ask you what did I do wrong, sir? >> Yeah, let me just >> I have nothing. That's my work bag. >> I'm just getting off work. >> The woman was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and was also trespassed from Walmart. Refusing to cooperate and insisting on playing the victim only escalated the situation. Accepting responsibility and complying with authorities from the start would have prevented the chaos and legal consequences. What do you think about cases like this? But worse, this woman was so professional in her scheme that she even had help from someone else. >> Who is Who is Cheryl Willard? >> That's my teacher. >> Who is it? >> Is she the one who made the payment? >> Um, driving suspended and retail. On July 31st, 2024, police received a call from a woman named Carol reporting an unexpected $1,500 charge on her credit card for no reason. Around the same time, a Mercedes dealership reported a woman with a history of fraud returning to pay for services via Apple Pay. Here's what unfolded next at the scene. >> So, can you tell me what's going on? >> So, we got uh a credit card dispute for fraudulent charge on Friday. >> Okay. for customer whose car was actually in for service. >> Okay. >> As of now. >> Okay. >> Um so I was working through that car owner claimed fraud. Names didn't match that whole shebang. This morning she paid online and it wasn't 5 minutes later we got a call from a lady in North Carolina saying, "Hey, you just hit my credit card for 1534.92 or whatever it was. I live in North Carolina. Never been in Illinois. none of this drives. So we went looking the invoice dollar amount and the payment match that invoice for that same client again. >> So >> so she was in in June that credit card got disputed as fraud. >> So her car Okay. So she's essentially using she's done this twice now where it's been >> this is the second time where it's it appears to be stolen credit cards >> credit cards to pay for service for her actual vehicle. >> Correct. Correct. It's her vehicle. Okay. But there the name like the one in June the name didn't match. >> Uh the one today I won't I won't see the name till it batches at night. >> But a lady called from North Carolina gave me phone number name. She like if you need anything feel free to call me. I'll dispute it when it posts but I got to wait till it postp. >> In fact the address of the defrauded woman matched the address of the woman who had called the police earlier. At this point, the dealership informed them that they only accepted cash and the suspect claimed she had already paid using her sister Skyler's card. >> I don't know. I will call her, but that doesn't have nothing to do with me. You know, they have her name and information. When I dropped it off, they know that. But they could have just told me that. You know, they calling the police and stuff. This I could have figured this out. >> I think I think it might depend on how the car got declined. Sometimes those show up as just a decline charge, like your car doesn't have money on it. And sometimes it shows up as >> You should have just said that. >> I know. But sometimes it shows up as fraud, which they won't tell you that because if someone's trying to defraud them, they're not going to tell you. >> Okay. >> Right. Like that's why we I take calls here all the time for these. >> Oh, really? >> But you can't like still they're still out money. So you can't take the car. We got to we got to resolve this. Otherwise, you're taking a car without paying for it. There'd be a service. >> Okay. So let's do this. >> I have to get to work. So how fast is this? >> The quickest way is going to go back there, too. Cuz what I don't want to see happen is that if you were to drive off with the car under the understanding of payment, then they start looking at this. It's like a theft of services cuz they still don't have any money. >> If they whatever they don't figure out, I will pay for it, but I'm going to need my car. This is my car. >> Okay. >> If you wanted to pay if you wanted to pay for the whole thing and they get square with her later, you can do that, too. That's actually probably the quickest way to get out of here. The police recovered documents containing all the information linked to the card she had used, including her sister and a person named Carara. From that point, multiple family identities emerged, but things didn't go as she had planned, and the officer's suspicion kept growing. >> This is a longer conversation, so we might want to go inside. I'm just being I'm being honest with you. >> I got to get to work. What? Why can't call her? >> I know. No, Jasmine, you're the one that's here with this. We need We need to talk. >> I don't Look, I got to get to work. I'm not sitting here dealing with that. I'm not going to lie. I don't have nothing to do with heard. Jasmine, I'm I'm telling you right now, if you if you drive away, I promise there's going to be a criminal charge against you. >> For what? >> Because I'm looking at the documents that they have and they're showing me it's way more complicated than what you were explaining to me. >> So, let's go. What's your sister's name? >> I'm Who is Who is Cara Willard? >> That's my teacher. >> Who is it? >> My auntie. >> Is she the one who made the payment then? >> I think she used my auntie card. Okay, that's does your auntie know? >> Here, let me I'm going to tell you exactly what happened, okay? Like this is just moment by moment. You come here for the service. >> You you have your sister come and pay for the card. This card gets used and then if Cara will your auntie. >> Yeah. >> She calls here and then says my card was just used here. I don't know why. >> Oh, she must tell. >> So she said this is a fraudulent transaction. She called here right away. >> That's why we had to resolve it. Look, I'm telling you, there's a simple answer to this. >> To confirm the truth, the officers called Cara, and it turned out she had no idea who the supposed relative even was. >> Okay, Cara, I So, we're we're here at the dealership. The car was used for someone that was actually picking up a vehicle. Do you know anyone in Illinois at all? >> I No, I don't know anybody. And it's so It's kind of weird. Apple carts don't have Apple. So, [clears throat and cough] so like you have a physical card. It doesn't have a card number on it or anything. And you have to have like that person's access to their Apple ID and everything. So, it's kind of weird that the charge was used in person and not online. >> Well, it was it it was an online purchase, but it was someone who was making their payment online. They said that a family member was making a payment. That's why that's why I'm trying to put all this together. Oh yeah, someone would have had to got my online my my virtual card through Apple. They would have had to get that information. I haven't made a purchase on that card in a little while. >> All right, Cara. So, it sounds like you're going to probably obviously you need to make the report with your local department as well if you needed to, but you're kind of involved in this police report too at the same time right now. How do you spell your last name? And also they um because I had to reset my Apple ID, all of my information, Apple made me and they um >> so they also changed my card number and everything because of all this just so it's not used again. >> So it became clear that Cara had nothing to do with the suspect. And as time went on, the woman's story collapsed under its own contradictions, especially when she started mixing up the very names she had invented. Okay. Your sister, where is she at right now? >> She lives in Quincy. >> Okay. Is this her? Is this her driver's license? >> Okay. How come there's no record of that? >> I I ran this driver's license. There's no record on her license at all. I can't I can't even find a name. Well, look, >> you're driving her car because >> this is the way it involves you, too. So, okay. And how do you And you pay her. >> No, I don't pay her. I have like a app that I pay through the Colonel like five something a month. >> Where's Where's Where's Cara live? >> Who? >> Where's Cara? Kira, that's her answer. I don't know. She just I called her in front of the other officer. I said, >> I think I think we might be having some crosswives cuz I don't think who I talked to on the phone that reported their car is >> and that's what I'm saying. I think she lying to me. >> Who? >> Skyler. Skyler. Because I asked her like so when I said I do the money, who car did you use? Yours or your boyfriend? But what did you do, Skylar? Don't lie to me cuz the police is here looking at me like I'm crazy. >> You're in the hot seat right now. >> And I'm in the hot seat. Yeah. And you don't And I'm grown. Don't lie to me about nothing cuz it's not that serious. She like, "I I swear I use TTK blah blah." So I said, "So why are they saying that it's a lie?" Like I said, I can come pay that Friday, but y'all going to have to do that other >> At this point, the officers told her to call the sister she claimed was named Skyler, and that phone call only raised more red flags. The hesitant voice, the awkward pauses, and the shaky statements from the person on the other end all deepened the suspicion. >> Hi, >> Skyler. What is going on? Cuz they trying to say that >> let's look here. You're you're on speaker phone with the police right now. Neighborville police. Is this Skyler? >> Yes. >> Skyler, what's your last name? >> What's going on? >> Skyler, what's your last name? >> Girl, tell us my last name. >> Johnson, how do you spell it? >> J O H N S O N. >> Okay. Skyler, is it S K Y L A R? >> Yes. sister's here at the car dealership cuz she was trying to pick up a car. She is here because you told her that it was getting paid for it, right, Jasmine? >> Yeah, she did. >> And the payment was then called in by somebody else saying that my card was used here and that person doesn't live in this state. So, right now, your sister's sitting in the hot seat for this and she's pointing to you. >> So, what did you do? Did you What? What? What is it that you did? Just you want me to take your speaker? >> My boyfriend I use my boyfriend card. I don't know. I What's the problem? >> What What's your boyfriend's name? >> Skyler. I don't have time for this. You about to have me in trouble for some stuff you did. I sent you the 750 and I trusted you with my money. If I knew you was going to do some crazy stuff, I wouldn't even did all that. So, just tell what's going on. Just Just say it. I mean I I don't you got me looking crazy. I don't have time for this. So what did you do? Who car did you use? >> I'm telling I use my boyfriend card. >> You didn't use your boyfriend. >> Skyler, you didn't use your boyfriend's card. I know that. >> Compared with the police report, every detail, the phone number, the Apple ID, the identification she provided completely failed to match. It was obvious this call had been thrown together in a panic with no real planning behind it. This was a blatant case of using a fraudulent card to pay for vehicle services, but her stubborn denial still didn't end. >> The other thing that adds into this is that none of the birth dates that you or Skyler gave to me come back to anybody. >> I never gave you >> What you mean I gave you my birthday? >> Oh, when she was No, Skyler. Skyler's birthday. >> Listen, I just like I told >> you told Skyler to give me the real birthday on the phone. You said it out loud what it was. It's the one that's on her driver's license. It was used when we bought the car. >> No, I don't know. I her birthday a couple days after mine. Look sir, I'm not trying to give y'all no problem. What she done did with her car before it was mine. I don't know what she done did. That has nothing to do with me. I just know I paid her. I came to drop it off because I done messed up the tire or she messed it up. >> I'm just going to tell you like they are pulling every bit of financial out of here. They're pulling everything from the car, 1500. I'm not paying for nothing else. >> We're past that. We're past that. >> So then what is it? I didn't do anything as FAR AS WHAT SHE GOT GOING ON WITH THIS CAR. THIS IS NOT MY FAULT. >> I'M TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW. I'm telling you right now, if there is if there is stuff about this that is fabricated or false or whatever it is, the it's going to collapse. It's going to collapse when they get this off. >> Listen, and that's on her. You hear me? That is on completely on her. I don't My daddy last name. >> Jasmine, when I when I ran your driver's license, it shows me the last places that it ran and I saw that Will County probation ran. Are you on probation for them at all? >> Yep. >> Okay. For what? um driving on suspended and retail. >> She was finally put in handcuffs and she was charged with multiple counts of credit card fraud, identity deception, and attempting to obtain services through a stolen financial instrument. Lies only dig a deeper hole. In any financial investigation, honesty from the start is the only way to avoid harsher charges. Before we meet the next thief, take a look at this delusional woman and her false sense of power. >> Well, no, no. I'm about to call my Facebook because see I'm not sure if two people came. >> You can do whatever you like on that. >> These are not real police. No, you're not. I bought my own stuff. >> On January 26th, 2025, police received a call from Walmart reporting a woman suspected of being trespassed. Upon arrival, the woman immediately demanded to call 911, even with officers right in front of her. Keep watching to find out why. >> Call one call. Oh, hold on one second. I'm good in you. I'm going to call 911. >> I'm I'm right here. >> No, I'm calling 911 >> for what? >> Because how you doing, honey? >> How are you? >> I'm good in you. Happy Sunday. >> I'm just trying to figure out what's going on. >> I know. I'm calling 911 cuz too because I don't want somebody might hurt me because I'm here shopping and I can buy all my stuff in cash. But I'm calling now. I'm going to call cuz I don't want I want to [clears throat] make sure I'm safe cuz I don't know who you are. >> I don't know. I'm shopping. >> 911. Where is your >> Good morning. Hi. I'm at Walmart and um there's a a guy that's here that's ugly. >> The the um so I don't know. He's saying he's a a Neapville police officer, but I'm not sure. And I'm worried because I'm just a woman and I bought my groceries in. >> Okay. Is this your Yolanda? >> This is her. But >> does the officer have a uniform on and a vest that says police on it? >> Um, yeah, it does. But the thing is is he I'm not sure if he's an American citizen, though. >> Yeah. I'm standing in front of her. You could tell her by name so that she could hang up. >> That's officer. I'm going to disconnect. >> Okay. But you know, let me hold on. Let me call my >> The dispatcher even knew her name, suggesting this wasn't her first time, clearly showing the woman's abuse of power. And it didn't stop there as she continued to play the victim in a different way. >> I'm about to call my Facebook because, see, I'm not sure two people came. do whatever you like on that. >> Okay? Cuz I'm like two two people two people came up to me before and um the the thing is is hold on. Let me let me let me do my Facebook thing and I'm just going to >> You can do whatever you like. Listen, you were a trespass from here. >> No, I'm not a trespasser. Hold on. Hold on before you before you say that because that's not true. >> Well, it is true. We have confirmed that you have been trespassed from here whether you remember or not. So, there's going to be two ways that this goes down. Walmart management trespassed you. Okay. >> It is confirmed in our system and through their system that you've been >> the systems are down. That's No, that's okay. >> Morning everybody. Good morning. I want y'all to be on Facebook with us. This is Miss M. >> Yeah, this isn't going to go the easy way. Frank, she's not cooperating. You might as well. >> I want to make sure y'all get on here and see this. I came up here to go shopping this morning. I got all my groceries. I bought >> Yeah, that's you're going to have to come in here. I bought all my Listen, I bought all my stuff. >> She refused last time was issued a ticket and then >> No, no. I bought all my stuff. Okay. Like with my money there. >> Let's come here and figure this out for now. And then we're >> uh I just want to make sure on here. This is uh he says his name is Officer Bucky. But I'm just making sure that we get on here. I'm tired. It's Sunday. I want to go home. I don't want to mess and bother with y'all. But I just wanted to make sure that I logged in and told y'all. If she could confidently deny the allegations, she shouldn't have acted so fearfully, especially while the officers were patiently handling the situation. Yet, clearly, this drawn out drama also became a major issue for the police. >> I'm tired. Well, listen. I not a trespasser, though. >> Okay. Well, you've been issued a citation before. >> You're going to be issued another citation. And if you do not leave, you will be placed under arrest and you will go to DuPage County Jail. >> Oh, but you I don't see that's what I'm trying to tell you. After you get two citations, then then you go to DuPage County Jail. Okay. >> I go to Dupage. >> So, is that what we're gonna Which way do you want to go? Would you like another citation? >> No. No. This is what I'm saying. >> And to leave peacefully, or would you like to get a citation, not leave, and then go to >> Dupage County? Citation for >> the citation for us for trespassing to Walmart, which you've already been issued one prior. >> The Neighborville Police Department. No, they're defunded. There's no money going there. >> That's fine. It's still my job and I need to take care of that. Okay. Okay. The thing is is if y'all not being paid to do the job, then you're not >> I am being paid to do the job and that's what I'm here for. And right now I'm helping and serving Walmart. You have to verify that you're being paid to work for Neapville Police Department. You have to verify that you have a visa to live in the United States. You have to have um >> Where are we going about this? This is nothing to do with the situation that we're dealing with right now. >> Yes, it is. You have to have a birth certificate and you have to have a social security card. You can't just come at me as a United States citizen and say, "Hey, I'm a police. You You got to get out of here. We don't our I >> No, you were told to get out of here several times prior. This isn't how it's >> She acted this way because she believed her US citizenship gave her the right to do so and dismissed the police, questioning his own citizenship. Now, notice how her attitude shifts once backup officers arrive. >> Would you like this to go with a citation? >> You doing Mr. Franken? I like your eyes. You're a nice looking guy. >> This is a thing. No, no, no. This is This is my thing. I'm just letting my face letting everybody know. >> Wait, wait. This is You're going to stop or you will be arrested. >> No, no, no. You're going to let it go. Hey, hey. No, no, no, no, no. See, you will be arrested. No, no, no. This is my stuff that I No, no, no. I'm No, no. We're going to talk about this cuz this is my We're going to talk about it in the jail. >> This is my Hey, >> you're going to talk about it to jail. You are You are going to be going to jail. I bought >> Can somebody help me? Let's go. >> Somebody from United States. Please, can y'all help me? Cuz this is not right. >> Hey, no, no, no. Cuz our police department, you are going to jail. >> The police department. Okay, I'm not going to >> You are going Hey, hey, no, no. This is not a request. >> No, no. These are my groceries and I'm going with them. Like, >> no, no, no. If you Hey, touching me. You are under arrest. No, I'm not under arrest. No, I'm not. You are being told you are under arrest. >> I am not. These are not. >> You are being told you are under arrest. >> Getting charged with you are being told you are under arrest. >> You are being told Stop. Drop this now. >> I got this one. I know. I still got my office with cash and it's my money and my >> You are under arrest. Stop resisting. You are resisting. The neighborhood police. >> You are resisting. >> These are not real police. >> This wasn't about real authority. This was her deceiving herself as the outcome didn't go the way she expected. She continued making herself the center of attention in the store. Still playing the victim. >> And whoever's at the Natureville Police Department, it doesn't matter. This is my stuff. >> I We will We will discuss that when we get to the jail and I will speak with my stuff. I do not engage her. out of Walmart. >> No, I don't. >> What are you doing? You guys are Y'all not authorized to do it and you're not going to get away with it. You're under arrest. >> No, I'm not. No, I'm not. You're not. >> First off, you can't arrest people for buying groceries. >> I bought all of my groceries. Every single last one of them. >> I bought every single one of my groceries. Can somebody listen? Call my mom for me. Call somebody for me. >> Your feet up. Hey, that's all my stuff. Y'all can't just sit there and do that to a lady. >> No, >> this way. >> You were given a chance. It's over. >> This way. >> Okay. I Those are all my groceries that I bought. >> And we'll we will we will find out. And if those are, I'll give it I'll take care of the receipts right in my bag. >> You know what the thing is is I'm here to help. I'm actually one of the people who's here to help everybody from their countries. I know that people in their countries are not getting food, but they need to tell Putin that he needs to stop places and then people from other countries will get their food. >> The woman was charged with criminal trespassing and resisting arrest. Believing that citizenship grants the right to break the law only leads to legal consequences. Cooperating with the police from the start would have prevented bigger trouble. >> What's going on? >> Nothing. Hm. >> You you wanted to uh use her credit because it was better than yours. That was my understanding. >> On March 18th, 2025, police were dispatched to a car dealership after receiving a report of a woman attempting to buy a car using fake documents. Upon arriving, they coordinated with staff and realized this was her first time coming there. >> Is he out there outside? >> They've done this in the past, too. You said >> she knows more. >> You've done this. She's done this in the past. >> I'm sorry. >> She's done this in the past. Personally was working on the last case. >> Okay. Okay. We'll talk with her and see what's going on here. Is she trying to buy a car then? And >> she credit card. >> Yeah, she just filled that out. >> Okay. >> So, apparently she bought a car a little while ago under one driver's license and that was her real driver's license. That's the real one on the left. >> There was no real one. >> This is the first day. This was fraud. This was fraud. This is the new one that she's trying to do now. >> Okay. >> The previous put in her cruiser till we figure out >> that sounds good. >> We'll get this. >> At that moment, police immediately approached the woman who had been sitting in the back since their arrival. She remained unusually calm and suspiciously quiet in front of the officers. >> Can get your uh first name for just want to make sure everything is okay here. >> Can you stand up? Put your hands behind your back first. >> So you uh looks like you just wrecked here to them trying to buy a car and a fake identity. So, that would be forgery. Uh, so we're gonna have you just we're gonna have you ask you some questions here. Um, but if you can just stand up, put yourself down for a second here. And then we're gonna have a >> put yourself down. >> Yep. Put yourself down. Put your hands behind your back. We're going to >> put them down. I don't know. >> Something like this. Uh, >> misdemeanor. It typically we can give summons for. So, we'll see what we can do. Okay. We'll get your stuff. >> I'll be right back in and talk with you guys. >> She trying to purchase a car >> just as a precaution. >> Yours. >> Even when placed in the patrol car, the woman showed no signs of distress over her situation with an almost innocent demeanor. She explained the truth behind the name that wasn't hers. >> So, uh, what what's going on here? >> You just explain if you wanted to. You said you want to talk with us. If we can just explain what's going on, we can try to figure it out and see if get you out of here real quick. So, what's going on? >> Nothing. >> Nothing. >> Hm. >> I just wanted a car. >> You just wanted a car. Okay. Have you been here before? >> A long time ago. >> A long time ago. Okay. Did you try to buy buy a car then, too? No. >> Okay. And what name did you use then? >> Larry's. Larry's? Not your own? No. >> Okay. Wait, who's Larry? >> I don't say Larry. >> Oh, who? You said whose name? >> Clarice. >> Oh, Clarice. Okay. Uh, who's Clarice? Is that your mom or something? Or is that is that just another name you have? >> Family friend. >> Family friend. Okay. So, so why' you use her name? >> We got a business together. H >> you have a business together. >> Oh, you guys have a business together. Okay. Um, and how long you guys been doing that business? about five years. >> Five years. What you guys do? >> Transportation. >> Oh, transportation. You guys work on cars and stuff together. Okay. Okay. Um, let me move the cruiser real quick. >> She provided extensive and detailed information about the owner of the documents, claiming it was her friends. Her expression remained unchanged, which only made her story seem more credible. So, you're saying you are in a uh company with you're in a business with your friend Clarice and you guys have been doing stuff for 5 years together for transportation. >> Mhm. >> Okay, cool. Um just that doesn't sound illegal at all. So that's um you want to just explain that a little bit more and you have any like I don't know anything you show them that that you work with her or uh phone number for her that I can call >> a phone number >> or just I don't know something I can use to try to confirm confirm what you're saying right now. >> I got a phone number. >> You got a phone number for her? Okay. Um, what's what's the name of your business? >> Just a van to go. >> H >> Just a van to go. >> Just a van to go. Why? Why' you use her name and not yours? >> Just because her credit was better. >> Her credit's better. Okay. Was she here with you at the time of the purchase? >> No. >> No. Okay. So, you used her name instead of you used her name as your as you though. So, you said you were Clarice when you were here. >> Okay. You said you did. Okay. >> But her story quickly unraveled when police discovered items in her bag. It was clear she was experienced in this scheme. And among the items was something that made the situation even more serious. >> A white male, black coat, and dark hat with a hammer. >> Do you know what this is? You don't know what that is? I got it out your purse. You going to be charged with it. What is it? I >> honestly don't. >> You don't? >> You're going to be charged with it. Whatever it is, so just might as well tell me what it is. >> I don't know. >> You know it was You had it, right? >> No, >> it's yours. >> It was in your purse. >> Like I said, it's not mine. >> Yeah. Okay. Got drugs, too. >> Drugs in her purse. >> It's a mess. Yeah. Then two more identification cards. Huh? >> Did you? >> Yeah, we already I already did it. I put in the freezer. >> Did she went with that one? >> No, she won't admit it. It was in her purse with all this other stuff. >> I bet meth. >> It looks like meth. Her eyes her eyes got looked like, oh shoot, I got caught type of look on her face. >> At this point, police questioned her about the small red bag. Yet, she remained unusually calm and still unusually quiet, just as she had from the start. Perhaps she had already stealed herself for jail the moment the handcuffs went on. >> Meth. Okay. Did you get it in Akran? >> Mhm. >> Are you willing to tell me where you got it? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you have a phone number for somebody? >> You do. I'm not going to jail. >> I mean, you're going to have to go to jail. We don't have a choice. >> Cuz you've got a felony warrant out of another jurisdiction. >> And then what you got going on here? This is the second time you've done this here. I'm being straight with you. Do you use meth? Is it for somebody else? Okay. Do you know how bad drugs are in Akan right now? You have any idea? They're like people. Okay. I just care about not telling somebody their kids not coming home because they use up meth. You know what I'm saying? So, and we have to do that a lot recently just because they're starting to cut those drugs with like horse tranquilizers. So, it's not been fun. >> All right. I'll pass this along and see what they can do for you. All right. >> Okay. So, he said I'm going to jail. The woman was charged with forgery and possession of a controlled substance. Trusting that using someone else's identity and carrying illegal substances seems harmless only leads to serious trouble. Cooperate with authorities early to avoid escalating consequences.
