Stop. Stop. >> Stop. Get on the ground. Get on the Get on the ground. >> I have tons of money on cash. I'd like to purchase. >> Sit down. Have a seat. >> She said she wants to purchase the items. >> I'm I'm I'm not a thief or a criminal today. Apparently, I am, but I'm not a thief or a criminal. Felon, >> I'm a famous person. Are you crazy? I'm a felon. How can I be a famous person and be a film? >> From tense arrests to moments where officers had no choice but to use a taser, it all started with customers who thought they could leave Walmart without paying. But the consequences cost far more than the items they tried to take. These are the cases in when dumb shoplifterss try to leave Walmart without paying and it backfires fast. Starting with this woman, what began as a simple theft quickly became much worse. Is this yours? >> That's ours. >> Uh, yeah, that's ours. But she left that in the cart. >> On the 22nd of March 2023, police were dispatched to a Walmart location after receiving a report of a theft that had taken place. What seemed like a case that would be easy to resolve quickly turned into a tense struggle. >> Hey, ma'am. Can you stop right there for me? >> Oh, sorry. Sergeant. >> Yes. >> All right. >> Can you just go ahead and turn around for me? >> In trouble? >> Yeah, you're in trouble. Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> We'll talk about Stop. [snorts] Stop. Stop. >> Stop. Get on the ground. Get on the Get on the ground. >> Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Yes. >> Put your hands behind your back now. >> Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Don't hurt me. Please, please, >> for one detained. >> I won't fight. I swear to God, it will. Don't move. Don't hurt me. >> Okay. Please don't >> roll over onto the side towards me. >> Sit up on your butt. >> Yes, sir. Don't hurt me. >> Stand up. >> Yes, sir. You'll have to help me up. >> I am helping you up. >> Don't help it. >> I'm not. >> We're going to walk. Can you push that for me? >> Yes. I'm not left the store with anything. I have money. >> Concealing items within a store is stealing. >> No, it's not. >> Yes, it is. >> No. If I'm going to buy them, I've been in bags and I go at the store, sir. You can wear stuff out of the store if you want to. If you need to >> concealing items within a store is stealing. >> Am I allowed to take them in my >> You've already stolen it. >> I haven't stolen anything. I'm not left, though. I understand that. I have money. I'm not >> right now. You're under arrest for resisting and ling. >> I didn't mean to resist you. I was just I was scared of you. >> When you walk away from me, actively resisting. Okay. >> I did not know that. Please don't do that to me. I did not know. They then began checking and confirming the suspect's merchandise, but the employees statement showed that the situation was far from simple. >> Still has a bag on it. >> Yep. >> And fresh spray paint all over it. >> She spray painted it in the store. >> Yes. Inside the aisle and then put That's why I grabbed these so I knew which one she did. So I was right behind her when she was doing it. >> Did the cameras pick any of that up? >> Unfortunately, that aisle. No. >> Okay. >> Unfortunately. But I have her grabbing the backpack and then or the purse thing and the clothing and going from apparel into the back bathroom. >> Can you And did she have other items on her hand when she went back there? >> Uh, it was some clothing. It was like a pink shirt. Uh, I want to say it was a black shirt or something like that. >> Okay. Did she throw this down when you guys started following her? >> No, she threw it into the uh car. >> Oh, this is the one she ditched. >> Yeah, that's the one she ditched in the back bathroom. >> In the bathroom. Okay. >> Yeah. Holy [ __ ] There's a lot more in there than I thought. That might be some stuff. >> Did you check the bathroom for tags already? >> Let me call Jen. >> Go ahead. >> No, it's got like all over. >> Tons of money on cash. I'd like to purchase my name. >> She said she wants to purchase the items. >> My name. >> Just so you know. >> You're under arrest for resisting already. Anyway, >> okay. Well, I'm not shutting the door on you yet. >> Okay. Just slide slide in. I'll have to go to the hospital. You good out here for me? The woman claimed that she had money and could simply buy the items to resolve the situation. But when the merchandise was checked again, the damage she had caused made that explanation seem unreasonable. >> That one I believe is going to be hers because it's got like makeup and crap on it. >> Yeah, it looks kind of old. This stuff, this stuff's got tags. T75 Good. >> Goodwill. >> Goodwill. Okay, so >> yeah, >> there was a pink shirt she had. I know. I saw the pink shirt >> and she had something else in her arms in the bathroom. >> Well, this one's got a ripped tag on it. >> Okay. So, overnight team lead is looking. >> Oh, it doesn't have an actual tag. It just has the little medium. >> It might be Goodwill, too, though. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I'm going to say this one's probably Goodwill cuz typically ours will have like a UPC on it. >> This looks like This stuff's Looks like she took the bag. She wanted the bag. >> Yeah. >> Right now, this stuff looks like it's all hers. Yep. >> There it is. There you go. There's the pink shirt. >> There it is. That's what I saw. >> And there's the >> Yep. That's going to be >> these. Yep. >> This >> I think this is a set. >> These look like her shoes. >> Yep. I never noticed that she had new shoes on. >> I have no idea. >> This yours? >> I can scan it and see. >> I'm not seeing a barcode label on it. >> Oh, there's no barcode. No, it's not ours. >> Okay. Um, this bandana. I don't think that's your guys. >> I've never seen that being damaged. >> That's a fairly used brush. >> Still got the packing in it. >> Yeah. [laughter] >> So, as far as the bag goes, uh, we call this vandalism. >> Yep. >> These items will go for stealing. Do you want to come look at the shoes she's wearing or do you have >> that? >> That's not going to be ours. I don't think that's ours. >> I don't think that's ours. >> It's a little torn up. >> Yeah, that looks really be yours. And this stuff. Okay. So, that's what she was grabbing cuz I was backtracking her while she was in the back bathroom. So, I was like, "Okay, she went in there and I see the tags on everything." So, I was backtracking her still. >> Well, she's putting it in Walmart bags. We'll go ahead and list the food items. >> Returning to the woman, she began denying that she had resisted earlier. And she had no hesitation in giving an explanation that was even harder to believe. >> No, sir. I did not know that you were an officer. I didn't go outside. All I see was your face. >> You didn't know I was an officer? >> No. And then you grabbed at me. I moved. And then when I seen that you were a cop and you grabbed hold on me, I stopped and just submitted to >> You didn't stop. You pulled away from me. >> I didn't know you were a cop until I submitted to you. I'm puke and [ __ ] Why' you hurt so bad? >> You sell those? >> No. Okay. Uh I need to get her bag out of your office. Yes. >> Oh, she trespassed, too. I would love it if she were trespassed, too. >> She's not trespassed, but that's her. It's her second event. >> She's stolen here before. >> Not our store, but uh Seventh Street. Okay. Do you have like a case number associated with that picture from the police department? Uh >> that I don't know cuz this is from 2 years ago. >> Was she stealing there? >> Yeah. They got $49 back and didn't recover $21. >> Okay. >> Yeah. I don't want to touch that either. >> I ain't touching it. >> Can't say that. I blame you. >> Yeah. No, it's just that one event. >> Do you need a photo for her for trespassing? >> Well, I'm going to trespass her tonight because second event now. >> I hear you. All right. I'm going to get this back out to my car. You need to wait with her there for a minute. So you can talk to her? >> Yeah. >> No, no, no. You You're now trespassed. You weren't trespassing a minute ago, but if you come back, you will be. Okay. You can't go back in there. >> Okay. >> Oh my god. >> Yeah. >> Can you see my >> I'll take a picture of you in just >> Thank you guys. >> Thank you. Your your charges are misdemeanor stealing, vandalism, and resisting. >> I want to buy. I didn't mean resisting. All I see was your black face, your your badge, or nothing could shine. >> You stopped and looked at me. Okay. >> I didn't know you were a cop. She said, JPD, >> I need you to show me where the tooth. >> She suddenly began playing the victim with the officers, making the situation more complicated. Police eventually moved her handcuffs to the front, but that certainly could not change the outcome. I'm a woman. >> Shut the door. >> I have to shut the door. I can't drive you down there with the door open. >> And the only other option is I call the jail van out here and they put you in a restraint wrap. >> You know what the wrap is? Don't torture me. >> I don't want to torture you. It's not torture. It's a It's a lawful way of restraint. So if you if you won't let me drive you in this car, the only option is in the jail van in a restraint chair or a restraint wrap. And I don't want to do that to you. Okay. >> You don't feel like running. >> Okay. I don't want to do any of that to you. Okay. I'm going to close the door, then I'll roll the window down. >> You go against you. >> In the end, Tammy was charged with misdemeanor stealing, vandalism, and resisting [clears throat] arrest. The lesson: denying what happened does not make the evidence disappear. When store employees and surveillance evidence reveal what actually happened, making excuses or resisting can only make the situation worse. Next, this casting director still had plenty of dramatic performances, ready to win the officer's sympathy. >> Google me, you'll see. I made 137 movies. I I don't It's not a felony. >> He's already got cancer and anxious and on medication. I can't help him. >> He's got stage four cancer. That's why I'm losing my >> On the 3rd of November 2025, police received a call from Walmart about a woman they had detained after she attempted to leave with $90 worth of pharmacy merchandise. But what was even stranger was that she admitted what she had done while her attitude toward the officers was the real problem. >> Call the police. >> I wish you wouldn't have called the police. >> They have the right. I >> I offered to pay for it. >> So I got this uh woman considering she's nice on the floor over the um uh pharmacy. And then I continue um watching her through the floor until she got to the s area where she paid for some stuff. She paid for that, >> but she didn't pay for this. >> Okay. >> Um but she last she passed the last bonus. So without paying for the mission, I detained her and when I brought her here, she said that she wanted to pay for this. >> Okay. >> Okay. I'm just going to explain that. Um >> real quick, we we we can have this conversation. I want to read you something. It doesn't necessarily mean that you're under arrest or anything, but you're not you don't feel like you're free to leave, right? >> No, I don't feel. >> So, I got to read this to you. Okay. And then we can have whatever conversation that you want to have if you choose to have it. >> Okay. So, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. >> She appeared embarrassed. But was it because she had been caught or because she actually felt guilty? Even the reasons she gave for her actions seemed to reveal the answer. >> I'm on medication. My husband has four kids. I'm going to a lifestyle. The medication I take causes blood to me. I will stop taking it. I just I have never stolen before. I It's my husband. [music] >> I can't answer this now. >> Just Just >> can I call you right back? I'm going to listen. I'll call you right back. >> He's going to kill me. I I just want you to know that I I can't get rid of this. I have money. I am famous. I can't have this paper. I'm a casting director. I made 136 movies. I have the money. I have never stolen anything. And the only reason I did it was I took the medication I shouldn't take because of my anxiety. I offered to pay for it the minute he caught me. I was honest from the beginning. I just don't want to go to jail. I can't go to jail. My husband's sick. Um and my business, if I go to jail, I could lose everything. Google me, you'll see. I made sure I >> I don't It's not a felony. >> No, >> it's not a felony. >> It's Rita, right? >> Yeah. Rita. >> Rita, do you just have your ID for me? >> Sure. >> Thank you so much. >> At this point, she demanded to pay for the merchandise to erase the mistake she had made. But it seemed she still hadn't realized that the store's decision might no longer be in her hands. >> I shouldn't have done it. Look, I could pay for anything. >> Please, just let me pay you more to go. Please have some compassion. I'll never come in this store and do it again. >> Well, I believe they'll probably also want you trespass from me. >> I'll never come back to the store again. Never again will I come back to the store. I I just can't get arrested. I was arrested once in my life when a guy beat the [ __ ] out of me and I stabbed him 11 times and I went to Riker's Island to save my life. I cannot go back to jail. Not enough of this. >> Can you please tell me what's going to happen? I'm so nervous. I'm want to double check with everything here >> for the call. Thank you. >> Listen, I was honest from the get-go. I did not lie to him because I knew what I was doing was wrong. I go to church every Sunday. I go to Bible. I know I should. I know I shouldn't. I'm not a criminal. Apparently today I was >> Mr. What's your phone number for you? >> 911. You can just Google me and find every number I have. >> I have 5 minutes. You can Google me and get >> Is the address on address? >> That's my address. Please don't send anything there. I'm not telling my husband. >> He's already got cancer and anxious and on medication. I can't tell him. He's got stage four cancer. That's why I'm losing my >> Suddenly, she started bringing up her personal circumstances. Was this a script she had pulled out from her experience as a casting director? She was also putting on quite a performance in her role as the innocent one. >> Can you please tell me what's going to happen? >> What do you think's going to happen? If you come to the store stealing stuff, you think? >> Yes. Yes. You're going to go to jail for that. Okay. Have you been arrested here in Curry County before? >> Are you a felon? >> No. >> Okay. >> You are, but you get a bond. Okay, your bond for this is going to be $150. You have to pay 10% of your bond to get back out. If you have $15 on you, you call bondsman, you can get right back out, okay, within a couple hours. >> So, that's the deal. I'm not here to >> This isn't even a felony. >> It's a misdemeanor. It was 86. You can't give me a break. >> No. Here in Florida, we don't do that. >> No. Be so mean. >> I'm not being mean, but you're coming in here. >> The way you're speaking to me, you could have a little compassion. At the end of the day, it's conscientious decision that you made to come in here and steal. I did do that. Yes, I did. I for >> I could have lied. You have it on camera. Why would I lie? >> I hope you wouldn't, but I would also hope that you wouldn't steal stuff. >> Okay. Um Okay. >> I have a >> Okay. Simple as that. >> I have a you could put me in here. >> Yep. Then we're going to go to the jail house. You're going to get fingerprinted the Naples jail center, which is airport in 41. You're going to get fingerprinted. You're going to get a photo. And then you're going to get it. Get on the phone. >> I have $15. Don't worry. >> Okay, you can call the bondsman. >> I don't need a bond. I'll just pay the whole $150. >> You'd be on in a couple hours. You'll be given a court date. Make sure you show up to that court date. Otherwise, a warrant's going to be put out for you. Okay, >> honey. Google me and you'll see who I am. I always show up. >> Good. >> I have a lot to lose. >> Okay. >> I'm I'm I'm not a thief or a criminal today. Apparently, I am. But I'm not a thief or a criminal. I'm a hardwork. >> Then you're going to arrest me. If you could have a little compassion. >> Okay, stand up. >> Stand up, please. >> Thinking everything had already been decided, Rita started worrying about what was waiting for her. And her endless questions only made the situation more tense. >> Can I hold it down first and then we'll we'll take it out. Okay. >> Can I hold my phones? >> Can I hold my Let him know what's going on. >> Are you going to strip search me? >> Oh my goodness. Calm down. Face me. Put your hands in front of you. Are you going to strip search me when I get to this precinct? >> That's up to the jail, but I doubt it. If you're not a felon, you haven't been there on any felon. I'm a I'm a famous person. I ain't crazy. I'm a felon. How can I be a famous person and be a felon? How can I make 131 movies and be a felon? I'm licensed and bonded in New York City. What are you kidding me? I'm trying to explain why I did this. And look how mean they're being. >> Put your hands up like this. >> Somebody tried to kill me. It was the only other time I was in handcuffs. >> This could have been avoided. >> Well, it could have been avoided. You could have been a little nicer, too. >> Don't steal stuff. >> Do you have a mother? Do you have a mother? Do you have a mother? >> Do you have children? >> I'm sorry. >> I'm sorry. Okay. Forgive me. You also trespass. If you return to this Walmart, you'll probably again [ __ ] >> We're going to go this way. Right down this hallway here. This way. >> I'm a 60-year-old woman. You never heard anybody. Is this personal or you had to do this? >> Did you have to do this? You could have just let me get in the car. I wasn't going anywhere. I have a mama. In the end, Rita was charged with petite theft in the second degree, a secondderee misdemeanor under Florida law. Admitting your mistake does not erase the consequences of your actions. Once the decision has moved beyond your control, excuses and pleas for special treatment may not change what happens next. Even worse, the next woman didn't just steal, she also attacked an employee. >> What are you doing? >> Nothing, bro. I wasing hungry, so I came to get some food, >> bro. Oh, but you got to be. >> And then the lady grabbed my >> she smacked me and that's why I I grabbed her purse. >> Okay. So, >> I said, "Don't touch me." >> On the 7th of August, 2024, police received a call from a Dollar Tree reporting a woman accused of shoplift, but the situation took a more serious turn when she was accused of striking an employee after being caught. Here's what happened when officers arrived at the scene. right there. >> He's trying her to drop the bag of the merchand Daniel. Oh my god. >> [ __ ] This >> the [ __ ] >> What are you doing? >> Nothing, bro. I was [ __ ] hungry, so I came to get some food. Bro, but you got to >> And the lady grabbed my [ __ ] and I have bruises on me, bro. Like, >> okay, just relax. We'll talk in a second. Okay, this one is here. I don't know. You got anything on you? >> No, I'm going >> Nothing in your bra or anything? >> No, I don't have a bra on. >> All right. >> The suspect remained calm and denied the allegations against her. But according to the store manager, what happened was completely different. >> Mhm. >> Okay. What happened? And you you're uh what are you? Store manager manager. >> Okay. >> I was sorry. I was coming through my aisle because I'm working in the toy section. >> Yeah. >> And I was coming to my aisle again and I saw her putting the cat food inside her bag. >> Okay. >> And I said, "Miss, miss, what are you doing?" And she walked to aisle one. And that's when I told her, "Take everything out of your purse because all that belong to my school, >> right?" And she said, "No, let my purse go." I said, "No, give me my stuff." And I let your purse go. >> So you grabbed her purse. You were trying to stop stop her from stealing. >> Yeah. And the customer, the one she just woke out, I said to her, "Thank you. No, I'm out of here. I'm out of here." I said, "No, you're not going to leave." And she can tell you to you guys come here and steal. >> Sure. >> And then my employee stay with no hours because all these people stealing in here. >> Yeah. >> I told her and she said, "No, no." And that's when my other girl start calling you guys. >> Okay. >> And she's still refusing to give me the merchandise. I said, "Just take the stuff out of your purse and I'll let you go." >> Okay. >> She didn't want to do it. And then she tried to walk out and the lady stopped her again, said, "No, you're not leaving. She's asking you to give her the merch and I give it to her." >> Okay. >> When you show up, she start taking stuff and throw it in top of the shelf. When she's See, you guys got here. >> Okay. >> But it didn't stop there. The manager then made an allegation that the woman had assaulted her, taking the situation to a more serious level. >> She smacked me and that's why I I grabbed her purse. >> Okay. So, >> I said, "Don't touch me." I said, "Don't touch me." >> Did she swatch you away or did she hit you? >> No, she hit me with her hand >> where >> when she did like this, she hit me here. >> Okay. >> And that's when I said, "Don't touch me." I said, "I just want my merchandise." >> Got it. That's it. Yeah. My other assistant saw everything when she was calling you. She was right there behind me. >> And then she dropped the the black. >> Daniel Boas Tree Ridge frequent. >> Yeah, she dropped the black bag. >> BCSO has a case on her for like a $15,000 string all over the county. Something called Yeah. Look at her. >> They were looking for her yesterday. >> Look at that. >> I've arrested her. Everybody's arrested her. >> What you guys were there for yesterday? >> Yeah. >> And I'm telling you. >> No, no. I got it. >> Sure. >> Yeah. >> That was primary. So, I was trying to tell >> you good. I >> I was right here and I I know who she is and she's connected with the SO cases from yesterday. So, I'm going to call them and fill them in. So, >> the woman appeared to be running out of excuses and there was little anyone could say in her defense. Another witness then came forward and gave their own account of what they had seen. >> Tell me in your own words what you saw. >> Okay. So, I was right here on the back walls. >> You were here, right? Okay. >> I was stopping at the back to school stuff and I saw her come in with a big purse this way. She didn't know that Marisaw >> was behind her following her, suspicious about it already. Saw her I saw her put another thing in her bag. She didn't know the lady was behind her and she caught her and she's trying to grab the bag from her and tell her to drop it. Drop it and drop it and she won't. So there's like another lady I guess she's in the tire. This officer trying to stand in front of her while the other ladies behind her >> and then I kind of she's kind of like tugging on her purse and she shoved. Mera saw I didn't see her hit her but I saw her shove her. >> Okay. So she pushed her their her hands. >> I saw her keep pushing me. >> Okay. >> So I went ahead and I was like you know what? I never called the police before. They got the wrong person down the street. I'm not false identifying somebody again. So, I locked the door and I stood in front of the door. >> Well, oh, I remember that. That was funny because the clothing description you gave was the exact same as the guy we stopped. >> And I was like, I felt so bad. >> That's okay. It happened. We let him We let him go. That's all right. >> He hasn't been back since, though. >> Oh, well. All right. Anything else you can remember? >> No, that's all. >> All right. Thanks. >> She was caller. Back with the suspect, she appeared emotional and remorseful, but it seemed that her regret was more about being arrested than about what she had done. >> You okay? >> What's wrong, honey? >> I don't want to go. >> All right, sit up for me so I can chat. Okay. Listen, remember I talked to you last time said next time it's going to be jail. >> I know. >> I I I couldn't have been more clear. >> Okay. >> Yeah, >> I know you're hungry. Okay. And if all you were stealing was food, >> but makeup, I mean, all that stuff, you know, >> that's to make money. That was to make money. >> I know. >> So I can get something. You got to turn this thing around, Danielle, cuz every time you steal, now it's a felony. I told you that last time. >> Okay. Um, we got a detective that wants to talk to you about some other stuff. Are you willing to talk to him? >> What? >> Just some other cases around and um if you cooperate with him, it might help you on this and everything else you guys going on. >> So, I don't want to waste his time. And if if you're willing to talk to him, I'll tell him to come up to the station and see what we can do for you. >> I'm being arrested. >> You're under arrest. Yeah. >> You have a spider in your beard. >> Are you Is it Babe? >> It's right there. >> Thanks. >> In the end, the woman was arrested for retail theft and accused of striking a store employee during the incident. Stealing may seem like a simple offense, but resisting or using force can quickly make the situation more serious. Once confronted, cooperating and handling the situation calmly can prevent a bad decision from becoming an even bigger problem. What do you think about this woman? Next, this woman showed no shame at all when she was taken into custody. >> Show me your hands. Go ahead and show me your hands. Go ahead and show me your hands. You're going to get tased. I'm telling you now. >> You ain't caught me [ __ ] >> We saw the camera. >> You lying. >> That means I caught you. >> You lying like a >> On the 2nd of November 2023, police received a report of a theft that had occurred at a Family Dollar store. The suspect was also identified as someone who had previously been trespassed from the store. But before meeting the suspect, listen to what the officer had to say because it shows that this situation was even more serious. >> It's Johnson. He dying as hell. You You want to do >> fine as a mother? You just have You don't want to come. It's ass Johnson. It's S Johnson. You want to see the goddamn police patrol car to >> That's part across the street. He said you show >> Hey, y'all saw where this lady went, man. >> 21 advised. I'm on the signal five. >> What up? What up? >> How you doing? >> I'm doing good. Yourself? Hey, it's going to be um same girl that me and uh me and Willie already dealt with. She understands she's banned. So, we just going to go ahead and console. >> I shot through Katie first. Uh I didn't see her. Last time I saw her, she was hanging out um in or around Yamocra. So, I'm pretty sure she probably might have caught a ride, came here and did what she did, took off. Y'all take care. All right. >> So, it turns out the officers were already very familiar with this suspect, meaning they could not simply let her off this time. They then approached her. >> Show me your hands. Go ahead and show me your hands. Go ahead and show me your hands. You're going to get tased. I'm telling you now. Go ahead and show me your hands. Don't do nothing crazy. Not do nothing crazy. You ain't got to be right there. Don't do nothing crazy. You better drop the bag. >> 21 Bravo one. Give you what you need with that call. >> 21 Bravo one. Um it was a call that Guard City was originally out with signify between a semi truck cab and a >> gra [bell] You give me a case number for the call cuz I've already female officer. >> Yeah, we'll get him. >> 231. >> While waiting for the female officer to arrive and search her, the woman continued to react, making even the detention far from easy. >> Time for a piece of work, man. >> Not if you not supposed to be where you're not supposed to be at. >> Hey, >> hey, watch out. >> Hey, watch out, >> man. Stop playing with me. >> Now you want Hey, let me go. >> Watch out. You better chill out. >> Let me go real quick. Choking me. >> Let me go. What's up? What's up? What's up? >> Take these off here real quick. Take him off. >> Come on. Sure his ass. What's up? Show him what's up. Come on, man. >> What's up? >> Number one, they're not coming. Number two, it's just going to be a bad idea for you anyway. So, they staying on. >> Man, I can't smoke a cigarette. We standing right here. >> Huh? >> No, not smoke cigarette. This [ __ ] still made it. >> Don't tell him nothing. >> Oh, my expenses. What the is you talking about? >> I tell you, look better than me. Your account got >> If you look at it, I bet you don't look at him. Look at him. So now we got to get to the DA so you don't get bonded do all this other extra stuff. That's what we got to do because for some odd reason you do what you want somebody else >> and you're banned. That's crazy. >> My cigarette says I'm not going to >> I don't know how you get mad at us when you keep stealing >> like it's my fault stealing if you go steal. >> You didn't catch me upset. >> You ain't call me [ __ ] We saw the camera. >> You're lying. >> That means I caught you. >> You lying like a >> That means I caught you. >> You're lying. >> How do you think we found you? >> After determining the value of the items, police continued working with Family Dollar to decide how to proceed. And even though the store was not particularly interested in pressing charges, there was still one issue the woman could not avoid. >> So yeah, the throw is $20 and then the gloves 125. I'll pay for those. But the rest of the stuff has to go back though. I'll bring back to y'all. Is that cool? >> Yeah, it's fine. >> Okay. Um, >> you got the drug lady. >> No, I didn't get the pipe that he uh was talking about. She had >> the back. >> This right here. This is her personal bag. She has Popeyes. So, obviously that got to go in the trash, but she can't go in the property. >> Um, >> I'm on the phone with them right now. So with uh family dollars. So they aren't really they aren't inclined on pressing charge. But the thing is >> criminal trespass cuz she's banned. Um and obviously the >> crack we need we need to get the shoplifting on here because chronic pain. So they I'm not trying to force them to but we >> No, no, no. She I didn't say they wasn't doing it. I'm just letting you know. Yeah. So the bag as far as uh I got to go through this. >> All right, ma'am. I'm going to be back down there in a sec. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> In the end, the woman was charged with criminal trespass and theft by shoplifting. Being banned from a store means returning can create additional legal consequences, especially when another theft is involved. Repeatedly ignoring those restrictions can turn a simple shoplifting incident into a more serious situation. Even worse, this woman seemed to show little concern about the consequences of her own actions. >> Let go of me. The dogs coming. Stop. >> Hi. >> Where are my dogs? >> There's a dog and a cat over here. >> I need my dog to come with me. That's my problem. >> On the 24th of March 2023, officers approached a vehicle with a license plate matching the description of one involved in an incident at Walmart. But when questioned, she did not seem willing to cooperate easily. >> I need your ID because you were just involved in a theft at Walmart. I was not in a Walmart. So, >> okay. They gave me this exact plate. >> How do you know it was me? >> Okay. They gave me the exact vehicle and plate description. >> Anything. I didn't see you anywhere. I just came out here to let my dog out. >> I need your ID. >> I don't have an ID. >> Your vehicle is not back here a little bit ago. I know you just pulled. >> Yes, it was. >> Yes, it was. Cuz I watched you come around. Yes, it was back here. >> Okay. What's your What's your driver's license? >> I don't have a driver's license or ID. I don't need to give you anything. I did nothing wrong. You did? I didn't. >> You're being stopped. >> I'm not being stopped. I'm sitting at a property. >> Okay. You're not free to leave. Let me make that really clear to you right now. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Um >> So, you're going to have to identify yourself. >> For what reason? >> I just told you >> because you thought I was stealing from Walmart. >> They called out your exact plate. Okay. Show me. So, you were just there. You first told me. >> I wasn't just there. No, I was there a little while ago. And I have a receipt. >> How long ago were you there? >> I don't know, 20, 30 minutes ago. >> Let me see the receipt then, please. Do you have any identification on you? >> After admitting she had been at Walmart just 20 to 30 minutes earlier, she continued avoiding identification, making the situation even more suspicious. >> 104, she's wearing a white sweatshirt with uh superheroes on it and black and white pants. >> We're looking for two packages of wear. It looks like >> 104. She's uh not being exactly cooperative at this point. >> See, here's all my receipts, all my shopping that I did. I don't need to check out at the checkout. I check out on my own. >> They're looking for specifically two packets. >> That's what I check out on my own while I'm scanning. That is what it is. >> I'll be there in a second. >> All right. I need you to identify yourself at this point. Do you have any sort of ID on you whatsoever? >> No, because there's no reason to stop me. Nobody else identified me. I didn't >> You are You are stopped. You just match the description that I gave them. Okay. So, you're not free to leave. You have to identify yourself. >> I just gave you my receipt showing you that I'm dead. >> Okay. >> Things I was Yeah. >> By this point, things have become more serious as the suspect continued avoiding questions, especially when asked about the stolen items, making her story increasingly difficult to believe. >> Do you have the items that they're asking for? >> I have the items that I bought. I bought uh spray and some um some fries. That was it. So, if we were to search the vehicle, >> I'm not allowed to search my vehicle. Excuse me. >> So, if we were going to search the vehicle, would there be there would there be the underwear that they're talking about missing? >> No, you're not. There's no underwear in here. There's a bunch of [ __ ] in here, but no underwear. >> Okay. >> Like I said, I don't have to be in the store to give them a receipt. I shop on my phone. All I do is scan it. Then, I'm going to go to check out. It scans all my stuff. >> Possibly born in 1980. >> Were you born in 1980? No. >> I thought Terry had a name. >> No, I said >> thought Terry had a name. >> I have a couple different options. Let's try and narrow it down. >> You >> do you have anything with your name on it and your date of birth? >> I just told you my name >> so I can identify 89. It was born 91. My birthday's >> next time if you ask for my information, make sure you ask for my date of birth and not just my shut my door please so I can put the window down. >> Not at this point. What are you looking at? >> What? >> Step out of the vehicle. >> No, my dogs are in here. You're my service dog. You cannot take me anywhere without him. >> I'm I'm going to take you. >> You can't take me anywhere without him. >> The situation continued to escalate as her lack of cooperation turned into clear resistance, forcing the officers to take more direct measures to restrain her. >> Seriously, ma'am, >> stop. You cannot take me without my service dog. >> You can either step out on your own accord. >> You're not listening to me. >> You can either arrest you're under arrest. You can't take me without my service dog. >> Stop. Stop. Let's go with me. Stop. God damn it. Stop. >> Hey. Hey. >> Stop. Go. Stop. >> Relax. >> Let go of me so I can get him down. It's going to bite you. Let him go. >> Let me go. >> Stop resisting. Put >> your hands behind your back. You're under arrest. >> For what? The vehicle. In the vehicle. >> In the vehicle. >> Can you just help me? Can I help you put him in there? >> God damn. >> Just relax. Make this easy. >> I don't want you to go with me. >> Come on. Okay. >> Are you okay? >> No, I'm not. >> What's wrong? >> Do you need an ambulance? >> Do you need an ambulance? >> I need a kick. >> You don't need an ambulance. >> Why do you care? What am I want? Excuse me. >> Well, cuz you weren't being cooperative and they said you stole some stuff from Walmart. >> I didn't steal anything. >> Okay. >> I already took you. So, what makes me off? >> Well, the other officer that's up there watching video told us to take you into custody. >> Okay. For what? >> I I just said, >> "Can I help get my dog to the car, please? >> Can we roll you up here? >> Let's get you up." >> The only thing the woman needed to do was cooperate, but she failed to see that. instead bringing her pets into the situation and making things even more complicated. >> I'll get you up. >> I need to have somebody come over here and get a [ __ ] dog. >> I'll grab you on this arm and then push your leg. Okay. >> Hi. >> Where are my dogs? >> There's a dog and a cat over here. >> I need my dog to come with me. That's my problem. >> Uh, you're a big boy. You want to hop up in this car? Come on. >> Looking at resisting then. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> There's no reason for you to search in there. I don't give you any consent. >> But you're under arrest. >> I don't care. There's no reason. I need Listen to me, please. >> Yep. And I need you to listen. >> I need my dog. >> We're going to go over here. >> Listen. >> Nope. If you're not going to listen, >> I'm listening to you, but I need somebody to come get them. >> So, I'm going to try to explain it again. >> Can you please come get my dog? Okay. Oh, my boyfriend. He's right upstairs. >> Okay, we can do that if you start acting. >> They have to come with me. You're not understanding. That is my service dog. >> But they don't go to jail. >> I can't do that. I cannot go without him. >> Well, they don't allow dogs in jail. >> That's too bad. He goes everywhere with me. You're still going to work. >> Panic. >> We gave you the chance. If you >> We didn't give you the chance. I asked what you were doing. >> Yep. >> There we go. There we go. Yeah. We don't We don't want any problems, right? Yeah, I got the stolen property. You can put them back in there. >> Once things had settled down, an officer explained to her boyfriend that she had been arrested for the Walmart theft, leaving him with little more than helplessness. >> Manager Rinquist, officer from the Marshall Police Department. So, um, did your girlfriend drive like a dark blue minivan? >> She She was using mine. Yeah. Why? >> Okay. So, uh, she just got arrested for a retail theft for something she did at Walmart. >> Um, >> I think she has my wallet, too. So, if I can have that back, that's that my cart and stuff. I mean, can I go down and get all that? >> 10. Do you want to grab a shirt? I don't care if you go shirtless, but it's kind of cold. >> I'm just going down grabbing the keys and my wallet. >> Okay. >> And then I'll wait till you guys are done and then I'll grab the dogs. So, whenever you guys are done doing what you're doing. >> Okay. I appreciate it. I know this is not ideal. So, >> hi. >> Hello. >> You Andrew. >> Yeah, she went buck wild there. What's up with that? >> I have no clue, man. >> She She doesn't like She doesn't like authority. Police, especially police officers, she doesn't care for them. >> Do you want to get the dogs out of there now? >> I can get the dogs out now, I guess. >> Come here. Come here. Come here. Come on. Oh, she got him on this little bitty leash. What the hell? >> Come on, buddy. >> All right. >> The woman was charged with retail theft and battery to law enforcement. [music] Refusing to cooperate can quickly turn a simple theft investigation into a much more serious situation. When officers give you a chance to explain and comply, resisting only adds to the consequences. Next, this man only made everything even more chaotic. >> On the 28th of February, 2026, police received a report about a man at Menard's who was hiding merchandise in his clothing and leaving without paying. When he saw an officer, he ran back inside the store, forcing police to chase after him. We're not stealing the >> stop now. >> I didn't steal nothing on the ground. >> I didn't steal nothing. >> Help me. >> Sir, >> get on the ground. [laughter] >> Fold over now. >> What am I being arrested for? Hey, >> what am I being arrested for? >> I don't know. I'm sure you're yelling. >> No, I'm not. >> No, I'm not. >> No, I didn't. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Hold over. >> Hey, my shoulder, dude. >> Give me your boss. Boss, boss, listen. Give me your hand. >> I'm going to take you to a rollover. >> The struggle [snorts] became chaotic, but as it continued, he began changing his approach and portraying himself as the victim of the situation. I'm trying, boss. Okay. Okay. >> My hand now. >> I can't breathe. >> I can't breathe. I can't breathe. >> I can't breathe. >> Oh my god. down. >> Oh my god. My inhaler. Set them up. >> I need to help my heart. Shut the up. >> Come on, dude. >> I can't breathe. >> Please. >> We got one detained. >> Okay. Please. >> I can't breathe. Dude, >> you're talking. Shut the up. >> Roll him on his side. >> Don't move. >> I'm not boss. >> Stay right there and shut the up. Immediately after successfully detaining him, officers began searching him. But an important detail raised their suspicion that another accomplice was waiting for him. >> Did they recover what he got? >> I didn't know I shut down. We left with this today. $57. >> I didn't steal that. >> Did you walk up the north? >> Well, we got it on camera. So, you're >> only took this one cuz you didn't have the one you normally take. officer. >> Hey, if you say another word, dude, I swear to God, I've had enough of your to many times. >> Rolling that way. >> Sorry, guys. >> No, you're not. Could it be that he was using the second pair to hide the stolen merchandise? But officers actually found something else, leading to even more charges. >> Of course, someone >> Huh? What's your last name? >> What? That's some milk, too. >> It's Viagra. >> Viagra. >> You came out of that bag. >> How do you spell your last name? >> I promise. >> It might be Viagra. >> Hey, how do you spell your last name? >> Can I say that? >> No. My name is >> You have to change your pack to Heartland and walk outside and run out. >> I see doctor. Well, when we're giving you orders and you're not following it, that's what I gave it to you. >> When you're tased twice, you still don't get it. >> I couldn't get my arm out. >> In the end, the man was charged with retail theft, resisting a peace officer causing injury, aggravated battery to a police officer, and aggravated battery in a public place. Illinois law provides that resisting a peace officer that proximately causes injury can be a class 4 felony. A simple retail theft can become far more serious when someone chooses to resist arrest. Fighting officers and continuing to struggle can lead to additional charges and consequences far beyond the original theft. What do you think about cases like this? Trayvon Patterson faced charges including robbery, failure to comply, having weapons while under disability, drug trafficking, receiving stolen property, criminal damaging, theft, and resisting arrest. Monique Raglin was charged with possession of drugs, and an outofjurisdiction warrant. This case shows how quickly an attempt to flee from police can escalate into a much more serious situation. Running from officers, especially in a vehicle, can lead to additional charges and put both the suspect and innocent people at serious risk. On the 25th of March, 2026, officers received a report from a victim whose wallet had gone missing at a bar. CCTV even captured her calling Jennifer into the bathroom to avoid the cameras. That was why Tiffany was still lying and denying everything because she believed she was not carrying any evidence. [clears throat] >> Oh, he told me about the cameras. Yeah, now I know. >> Well, I sure hope you know. You >> Oh, yeah. That's what I'm saying. I know. We have tons of cameras everywhere. I wasn't even there when people were there. I don't have anything. Please check everywhere. I'll get my purse. You want my purse, too? I got that, too. Take my purse. Uh, we'll hold off for right now. >> Do you know what happened with the purse? >> I have nothing. Nope. I have no idea what happened with the purse. >> Okay. >> I know. It was pulled out of a garbage can. >> What time was that at? >> I have no idea. When they whenever they came back. >> Was that before or after we talked with you guys? >> Um, that was >> I didn't look >> I think she pulled it out her or the other girl pulled it out right before you guys got there. >> The other girl other bartender. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Said she saw somebody pulling out of a garbage can. >> Okay. >> She then tried to shift all the blame onto her coworker, but what the CCTV showed was enough to tell the story. With the evidence in front of them, officers proceeded to arrest her. >> I don't know what happened after that. I don't have it. >> Gotcha. Do me a favor. Go ahead and turn around for me. You already been under. >> I don't have anything though. I don't have anything, you know. I sure hope you still don't have it. >> I don't have anything. I don't have anything at all. >> You don't want to tell me where it's at, though? >> I I'm telling you right now, I don't have it. I don't have anything. I have nothing. I'm not stupid enough to >> You're surprising we have 15. >> Can you just carry my kids see this, please? >> Your husband is coming back out. >> I know, but I just don't want my kids to see that. >> They won't. >> I don't have I don't have anything. >> Let's walk this way. >> I have nothing. We'll bring it home. I have nothing. >> Any landmines I should be aware of over here? I saw the one walking up. >> We're just going to go to the opposite side of the car. Okay. >> Jennifer and Tiffany were both charged with two counts of theft over $500, but less than $10,000. Denying the evidence and shifting blame did not change what the cameras showed. In the end, both suspects were held accountable for their actions. You pregnant? >> Yes, I'm pregnant. >> You're doing all this stuff? >> I can't breathe, sir. >> On the 15th of January, 2023, officers responded to a report of a shoplifting at a Bath & Body Works store. By the time they arrived, the suspect had already fled. So, they began gathering information by interviewing the employees who witnessed the incident. [music] >> What happened? >> Um, we came in, grabbed a basket, um, filled it up, grabbed another basket, just her usual. I did not physically see her when she was on the floor. Haley, do you want to explain to him like the process today? >> She basically grabbed one basket, came up this way, and I know she was on this candle while grabbing stuff. >> And then when she filled up that basket, she grabbed another one from over there, and then went back to fill more. And then she grabbed some gift sets on her way out. >> And she had our wall flower wall. Um, >> and you you physically saw this happen, like all of us her like what she grabbed and everything. Obviously, it's a lot. All right. Um, you mind if I get your information though since you actually witness it? >> Uh, you have an ID just to make it easier on me. >> All right. So, what time did you did you see her like come in and you see this occur? Just a ballpark. It doesn't have to be exact. >> I say I put 4:47 on the report. That's about when I told u my manager and supervisor she came in and they proceeded to call the police. >> Mhm. Um, >> you say she left four minutes after that. >> So, probably like >> So, she did all of that in 4 minutes. >> Yeah, she's very quick. She'll It usually takes her longer now to walk out the door since she's pregnant than to come in and grab the stuff. >> Gotcha. So, at 4:47, she came in. She What did she do when she came in? So, she immediately grabs her basket and heads straight to our regular candle wall. >> Um, she filled up that one with those candles and then she grabbed her second basket from over here >> without leaving. Like she she had she was like double handing it, I guess. >> Um, she got that one. She went to the second candle wall and grabbed a few candles. >> Um, and then our wallflower wall where she grabbed some of the fancy plugs up there. H. >> Shortly afterward, officers located the woman at a nearby store. At first, everything seemed routine, but they had no idea she was about to do something completely unexpected. What the car? Why? Why you messing with me? 1500. You call it already? >> Yes. >> Oh my. >> Are you pregnant? >> Yes, I'm pregnant. >> And you're doing all this stuff? >> I can't breathe, sir. >> Okay. >> All you want to go. >> Let me take off. Do you want me to talk? >> Yes, please. >> The woman's attempt to flee only reinforced the suspicion that she was guilty. Yet, after her escape failed, she immediately switched tactics, acting completely innocent as if nothing had happened. >> Can you get my phone, please? >> This yours, mine. Put it in hers. >> Okay. >> Can you get my phone, please? >> Where'd you drop it? >> In the lake. >> Yeah. Well, >> what? >> Maybe you shouldn't ran. You should have thought of that. >> Yeah. What am I being charged with? We have two two charges pending for that. >> Two charges pending for that. >> Yeah. >> How do I have two charges pending for them? >> Well, that's life. >> Anything else in your pocket? >> No. >> Unless you want an extra charge, I'd suggest you start being honest. >> I don't have anything in my pocket. >> Like a checker. >> That's not an open line with a female yelling. Good. Go ahead. Sit down. >> You tell them I have two. >> Well, how do I have two charges? >> We'll talk about something. >> All right. Put your sit in. >> We're going to have rescue come and check you out. Okay. >> How do I have two charges? Put your other leg in. What the hell? >> Turn off camera. >> In fact, this wasn't the woman's first shoplifting incident. The officers soon confronted her about an earlier case that had taken place on Friday the 13th. >> Friday the 13th. Since you're going, >> so a couple of days ago, >> you get to choose whichever one you want. >> You remember that day? >> Mhm. >> All right. >> Wait, Friday the 13th. >> This is Miss >> Friday the 13th. Did you go do bath and body work? >> She had a warrant for her. So they spotted her and they were walking out with her decided to run. >> She tripped under her over her own. >> So I already I have a warrant. So you you do understand you were caught on video inside the store that day. >> Oh, you said was I in the store >> on Friday 13. Were >> you in the store in the lower abdomen? >> She said it's not very painful at all, but she wants to get it checked out. officers who >> she isn't has handcuffs. >> Hey delegation is you took 25 $800. >> I didn't pay no $25. >> You did not pay for any of that. >> I didn't take $25. >> I mean pay for something. >> Again, you're on video. That's your answer. >> I didn't take $25. >> Did you take any camping? >> How about one? >> No. You steal anything? >> The woman was charged with retail theft. Every lie, [music] excuse or failed attempt to escape may delay accountability, but it cannot erase the truth. In the end, evidence speaks louder than words, and repeated bad choices only make the consequences more severe. I'm not I'm not [ __ ] >> On the 15th of [music] September 2023, officers were dispatched to a Walgreens after receiving reports of a woman suspected of shoplifting. When they approached her, she appeared completely calm, as if she was ready to face the officer. >> I'm officer Bana with Barney Police Department. The reason I'm contacting you is employees have seen you unpackaging some stuff and putting stuff in your purse. No, I didn't. I'm back in 11. You can look. >> Okay. Do you have an ID on you, ma'am? >> No, I don't. >> No, I don't. >> I've not done anything wrong. >> Okay. >> No, no, look. No. What you're doing is you're accusing me of something. Now, can I tell you something? I've not done any No, I'm not. Listen to me, please, sir. I've not done anything wrong. I'm showing you my back. >> I No. Listen. Please. I have not done anything wrong. >> What is your name now? >> No. You can tell me to leave the store. Listen, sir. >> Call your No. Call your supervisor. Call your super No, call your bag. >> No, no, no. I'm not going to put my bite. I don't want to fight. I'm not going to fight you. Call your supervisor. >> I'm going to detain you because of the way you're behaving. No, you do not. I'm You ask you to call your supervisor. I'm not in any type of way. >> You can ask me to leave the store. No, listen. I'm going to identify. No, you do not. You have no right to identify me. You can look in my bag. >> Don't want to fight you. >> Please don't. Please don't. I'm not. I'm We can walk. We're walking. She gradually escalated the situation with her uncooperative attitude. Her actions that followed even led to a charge [music] of resisting arrest. >> I'm not resist. Yes, you are. Stop. Stop. I got >> Andrew helping >> Andrew. Hey, did you do anything wrong like that? You don't do anything >> wrong. >> Get your hand off of his hand if you're not doing anything wrong. >> That's why I had you. >> Yes, I did. Okay. By the way, >> I do. They're yours. Do you want to pick them? No. No. >> Okay. >> Do you have any injuries? Yeah, I do. I need medic. >> Okay. >> She was then escorted outside to prevent further disruption inside the store. Instead of showing any remorse, she appeared to play the victim in an apparent attempt to avoid further questioning about the incident. >> So, when they inventory that we'll get her name? >> Yeah. >> And what was your complaint as far as needing medics? Ma'am, >> I can't breathe. I got slammed by my face. >> You can't breathe? >> And like she do got his ice. Okay. So, I >> Do you have any medical conditions we should be concerned about? Okay, ma'am. What's your first name? >> Alison. >> Allison. >> Alise. >> Al i Z E. >> A L I Z E. Okay. What's your last name? >> Okay. What's a good phone number for you? >> I don't have her name. All you do is identify her. >> What's your name? Can we start off with that? What's your name, ma'am? So, Bananao did use force. He's in there sweating away. We have two individuals. She's the one that he got into use of force with that other female that showed up. They had like a bit of a miniature conversation in front of us. So, she's actually being detained also. I don't know what crime we have yet, but uh she's complaining of being slammed on her face. Okay. >> She was opening food items like chugging milk and had possibly concealed stuff in her purse. Had been in the bathroom for like an hour, I think. Meanwhile, officers began questioning another woman believed to be her friend. Her attempt to help her friend resist the officers ultimately led her into this situation. >> Lady right over there that we have to >> she's your friend. What's her inter >> What's that? >> Tiff. >> Tiff. Is that short for anything? >> You just know her as Tiff. Okay. How long have you known her? >> Um, quite a while. quite a while. >> While officers were questioning the other suspect, the original shoplifting suspect suddenly did something outrageous that instantly sent the situation back into chaos. >> Hey, it's Tiffany Pope. Why? It's not >> obviously fine then, right? If you're running around. >> Okay, better in my car. And that right there. Keep an eye on him. Ma'am, >> hey, I'm gonna open the door real quick. I'm Sergeant NZ. >> I just wanted to ask you a couple of questions. Are you willing to talk to me? >> I'm fine. >> Are you willing to talk to me? >> What's up? >> Uh, what happened inside? >> Um, I didn't want to go to jail. And so, um, >> here I am now. >> Okay. Um, why didn't you want to go to jail? >> Cuz I hate jail. >> Okay. I knew I had warrants and he started asking me my name and I hadn't done nothing wrong. >> Okay. Did you like try to walk away? Did you Did you >> Yeah, I tried to and he stopped me. >> How did he stop you? >> He like blocked me with his body. >> Did he Did you ever Did he ever identify himself as a police officer? >> Yeah, he didn't. He did nothing wrong. Can you just take me to jail, please? >> Just a couple more questions and then you can then we can get you on your way. Um, did you know he was a police officer? >> Yes, dude. I knew he was a cop. >> Okay. All right. Um, are you hurt in any way? >> I'm fine. >> Any injuries? anything? >> Please. No, we couldn't go fine. >> Okay. Um I do have Well, so I do got to take a picture of you. Um and I'll have the officer do that once he gets to the jail to take a picture of you. Okay. >> Thank you. >> Her actions only made the evidence against her even harder to deny. At that point, officers explained the charges she was now facing. >> Venmo card in your name? >> No, it's my friend Max. >> Your friend Max? >> Okay. And that was in the purse? >> Yeah. But the purse belongs to >> What's her face? >> Yeah. >> What's her name again? >> It's I I just call her a bit. I I don't um her name is I don't know her name. >> Okay, >> got it. I'll look into that. >> There's still a bunch of other felonies. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, the shoplifting, I don't know. You don't contest all that stuff in court, but try and take my taser, headbutting me, you know, it's nothing personal. I'm not upset about it, but you know, it's a crime. We're going to go in. Um, we're going to do things peacefully. If you run, you try to fight me, it's not going to end well for you. >> No. Why would I do that? I'm wearing cuffs. >> Well, you tried to run away from us when you're in cuffs. >> Well, that's cuz I thought that um chance I'm not going to jail. In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting, lararseny, fourthderee battery upon a peace officer, thirdderee felony disarming a peace officer, concealing identity, and resisting arrest. Trying to flee, [music] resist officers, or hide information can quickly lead to additional criminal charges that carry far more serious consequences than the original offense. >> Get down. [screaming] Drop it. Drop it. Drop it. Let go of the locked up. >> Let go. >> On the 5th of October 2025, officers were dispatched to the scene at around 5:00 a.m. after receiving a report of a domestic violence incident between a married couple. But the officers had no idea the situation was far more complicated than they expected. When they arrived, the wife came forward and gave her account of what had happened. >> Is he gone? >> Yeah, he took my van. >> Soon's pure from >> And that's my mom coming. What happened tonight? >> What is it? >> What happened tonight? >> We were laying down in the bed. >> Yeah, >> you're going to be coming. >> The wife was confirmed to have suffered injuries after her husband assaulted her, choked her, and even nearly bit off her ear. The officer's immediate priority was to ensure she received medical assistance. >> Is your van registered to you, or is it registered to me? Everything is not in the fox. He's holding up. Either that or into Warren. >> I don't know where he would have gone. >> I could have he doesn't have family in the area. >> No. >> What's he on probation for? >> It was um >> I'm going to jump in here real quick. I got to take your photos. >> It was resisting the rest. Um, and then it was a DV. I told them not to do anything. >> Can you pull your hair up for me a little bit? >> He did try to choke me. But >> you might not believe it, but investigators determined that the incident began after the husband became intoxicated and insisted on driving. Fearing he would get behind the wheel in that condition, his wife tried to hide the keys, but she was ultimately unsuccessful. At around 10:00 a.m. that same day, Walmart reported an active shoplifting incident. In a shocking twist, the suspect turned out to be the same husband involved in the earlier domestic violence case. >> Hey, quick stop. Please stop. >> Get down on the ground right now. >> Turn the around. Hey, >> I willing shoot you, mother. I'm getting down, bro. >> 90 deployed. One resisting. >> Drop the knife. Drop the knife. Throw it. >> I need cars right now. He's got a knife. >> Get down on the ground. >> Throw it. >> Throw it or you're going to get shot. >> $50. I don't I don't >> but this is nothing at the end of the day. >> Listen, I don't want to do this. I'm not trying. >> I know. Could have been a ticket. It could still be a ticket. All >> lie. It's not going to be >> I can't. >> With their firearms drawn, the officers repeatedly warned him to drop the weapon as he had completely lost control of the situation. Moments later, he also admitted to what he had done to his wife the night before. >> Go. I bit my wife's ear off last night for cheating. >> Okay. >> Yeah, >> you're good. >> I wanted to buy her juggler. She's pregnant. >> They want to kill the baby. >> Now it's I've already thought I've already thought all night already thought about all night. >> Huh? It's already done. 15 years that >> Hold on, man. know everybody in this fight, bro. >> What's up? >> I'm not done. >> He already tried to hit me once with the the screwdriver. >> I didn't really >> Yeah, I did. I I get him once. >> He was deliberately escalating the tension, but not because he wanted to fight the officers. He knew exactly what he was doing. And moments later, he made a shocking move. >> Get down. Drop it. Drop it. Drop it. >> Let go of the gun. >> Let go. Throw it. Let go. Throw it. Let go. Throw it. You throw it, man. >> Throw it. >> Throw it. Throw it. >> Throw it and it's over. Throw it and it's over. Drop the knife. Let it go. Let it go. Let it go. Let it go. That hurt. Let it go. You crazy. >> Let it go. Crazy. Got you. I got you. I'm already doing 15 now. >> Oh yeah. Punch me in the face. >> Let it go. >> Punch me high. >> Let it go now. >> Can we get his legs controlled? >> Let's get his legs controlled. >> The officers quickly took him into custody. Even in his condition, he showed no remorse. Although he admitted he was still intoxicated, he was fully aware of what he had done and understood exactly what he was about to face. >> I don't want to kill you. >> Dude, I told you I don't want to hurt you. >> Did I Did I try to hurt anybody? >> Was I moving the knife toward screwdriver? >> Was I moving the true virus toward anybody?
