Here. >> Stop. >> I'm going out. They're in front of >> Help. Bait help. >> In every theft case, officers had to brace themselves for anything that might unfold. Lies, shouting, even attempts to flee as situations often [music] spiral beyond control. But the ending was never kind to offenders. All of it captured in this video when cops [music] had enough of these Walmart shoppers. This video is made purely for educational stories, and we do not intend to mock anyone. Like and subscribe to support us in making more videos. Let's begin with these foolish thieves. >> That's our liquor. We're trying to get drunk. We know I'd be wrong. >> I met right here. >> You take that shirt from the Five Below with you. >> No, I didn't. How did you end up with stolen? >> On June 12th, 2025, police were dispatched to a Five Below store after receiving a report of three suspects caught shoplifting. Even more concerning, they had left a young family member unattended outside. When approached, the suspects attempted to flee but were quickly intercepted. >> Signature from you right here. So, you're both getting noticed to appear for retail theft. For her, it's going to be a felony for you to be determined. See the sign right here. So, I'll show you a little faster. We're both going to have court together. June 27th, 2:00 p.m. Kana >> because you guys were honest. I'm going out on a limb here and I'm giving you guys notice to your appearance. But if you don't go to court, they're going to put a warrant out. >> Yeah. Huh? >> What do you mean? >> Huh? >> Oh, >> yeah. I'm going to get that back to you. Hold on. >> According to the report, the suspects abandoned the merchandise and fled as soon as the police arrived, leaving no room to deny their actions. At this point, officers emphasized that what she had done was far from minor. >> Well, this is going to screw probation. You're getting >> still. >> No, I'm just like you just I was being >> That's our [ __ ] We trying to get drunk. We know how we gone. >> So you you and Julia have worked together probation official happy about she's not going to be no happy but this ain't retail retail is closed. You know that >> this is not retail. >> I've been doing this for so long you can't understand. I stopped. I stopped. I stopped. prison. >> You think you don't send people to prison? >> I know somebody >> happens. But if you want to push your luck, go ahead. >> No, I No, no, no. Push my luck. That's why I looked. She has my own idea. That was >> But you're at a point now where you've done this so many times that it's now retail and retail stuff is not just closed. It's >> a [ __ ] >> Yeah. UAL retail like I'm >> if you want to hop back in the car. >> I got my hands. >> Thank you. >> The wrongdoing didn't stop there. When officers searched the suspect's bags, they discovered items far beyond a match of popcorn. Yet, the suspects seemed completely unconcerned about this. >> Yeah. Criminal law. Go. Look up. Illinois criminal law. Amazon. Amazon. >> Amazon. >> Barnes & Noble. Look up Illinois criminal law. Just read it. Tell you like can't steal can open weed. She thinks a fouryear-old in a car. >> No, I'm just telling you what they told you. >> There you go. If you guys want to switch seats, >> then this stuff's just going to go into evidence. Drive without a wife. >> I get my shirt out of there. They don't. >> Although the theft had been admitted, the man remained adamant about certain suspicious items. His attitude growing increasingly tense. >> They don't go with that that shirt that bad. That's all I'm saying. I paid for that shirt. >> Where'd you pay for it though? >> Oh, I What you mean? I got multiple shirts. >> Just tell me where. >> Huh? My I I paid for them from a guy that I met right now. >> Did you take that shirt into Five Below with you? >> Who? No, I didn't. >> How'd you end up with stolen items? >> Cuz she put it in there when y'all was pulling up. >> Okay. It's your shirt. It's my shirt. All new guys shirt. >> Is this shirt worth arguing about right now or >> Yeah, that shirt $200. >> My ass. Look it up. Scan the tag right there. >> This thing better say Gucci on it. >> Hey, no. It say God speed. Scan the tag. You can scan the tag. It's going to tell you how much it cost. Scan that tag. It's going to tell you how much it cost. >> It still got the tag on it. >> I know. Scan the tag. It's going to tell you how much it cost. >> Where'd you buy one? >> I told you I bought it off somebody. >> I bought five. >> I bought five of them. >> No. You guys are done. All right, I'm doing you guys a favor. I'm not impinging your car, which is >> Take my shirt, too. Taking a shirt with a tag on it. >> Literally got everything out of it you can possibly get. >> I ain't going to lie, that shirt don't got cuz I paid my money for that. >> I ain't That shirt don't got nothing to do with Favalo or none of that property, man. >> She put She put her merchandise. I ain't going to lie. >> Good thing is you got four more of them in the car. >> You guys got to leave. All right, we're done here. >> Okay. In the end, both of them were charged with retail theft for concealing and removing merchandise without payment. Trying to cling to stolen items only escalates tension and worsens consequences. It serves as a reminder that honesty and cooperation with authorities can prevent further legal trouble. Next, the woman showed what resistance truly looked like in multiple ways. >> You're under arrest. This isn't Burger King. I can't get you to your way. All right. Stop calling me. >> If you were to call me, you're making us hard. >> I DON'T GIVE A SENSE. >> On August 27th, 2025, police responded to a report from Target regarding a female suspect who clearly engaged in shoplifting during her shopping trip. At the scene, before approaching the suspect, officers reviewed surveillance footage with store staff and waited for the right moment to act. Where'd she go? >> Fitting rooms. She just concealed the mother thing. 10 for she's walking towards the exit right now. It's going to be a black female dreads, blue top, blue jeans, and 10 shoes. She's walking around now. >> Stay here. They got it. They got it. She ain't going to go. She saw the cop car. >> Affirm two black bags. Orange bag. She's walking out. Hey, hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hey. >> Yeah. The store called >> The woman clearly noticed the police but deliberately ignored them. The moment officers moved in, she abruptly turned and walked the other way. Yet, that decision only pushed the situation into even greater tension. Just stop. Just stop. Just stop. Leave your detain. You want to get locked up. I'm trying. >> You're under arrest. Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> You're under arrest. You want [laughter] >> I just watched >> Put your hands BEHIND YOUR BACK. ALL RIGHT. ALL RIGHT. [laughter] [screaming] >> We got >> We got cuffs. >> Get off of me. Get off of me. Get off. Let's get that. Do not kick us at the end of that. All right. >> You're going to get charged with resist. >> No, you're going to get charged with resisting. Don't make it worse. Don't make it worse. >> Get off of me. Y'all got char. >> And now we got you cuz you're under arrest and we didn't need to be like this. >> Get off of me. >> Stop moving. Stop it. Stop it. while I resist it. I resist it. You have to make me >> what? >> Get off of me. >> Stop. >> Get off of me. >> Just make sure that's uh >> Get off of me. >> Yeah, we're good. >> I gave >> I just watched you JUST gave How? I didn't leave the store with it. [screaming] How? >> YOU JUST WALKED OUT. I DROPPED THE STUFF. >> I WATCHED YOU ON CAMERA. >> I DROPPED THE STUFF. They were clearly nothing more than irrational excuses, venting anger at the officer's actions. Everything would have gone far more smoothly if she had simply done what the police instructed. >> Have the stuff. >> You didn't even say nicely like, "Oh, I'm sorry you got me." You just threw it on the ground and tried to walk away. You could have been like, "All right, I'm sorry, officer." Again, listen, you have the stuff. >> That's still legal. >> Okay. Anything in your pockets? Okay. >> This is my stuff. >> Okay. But you're under arrest. >> Give me my phone. >> I got it. >> Where's my bag at? Where's my phone? >> Where's my phone? >> Yeah. Personal private account. >> Of course. Oh, now you're >> I don't care. >> You say that now. Sick. >> Let me see. >> Okay. >> You have a phone? H >> I don't think we have anything. Chrissy, your phone or anything? >> First you slap my phone on my hand. >> You got it? >> Yeah. Sorry. Get off. >> You're under arrest. This isn't This isn't murder. You can't get your order. I >> don't care. I don't care. >> Please sit in the car. >> No. >> Sit in the car. >> No. >> Get in the car. You're under arrest. snow. It's >> going to make it even worse. >> Everything seemed to become unnecessarily difficult. >> I don't care, she said. But in reality, she cared deeply and was visibly upset by everything that was happening. >> I'm going to grab I need to grab everything. I don't know if you guys want to transfer her now or just We got her. So, she's not going anywhere now. So, >> why the are you dragging me? Like what the >> police? >> She appeared calmer once inside the patrol car, but upon arriving at the police station, everything reverted to square one. Her resistance resurfaced, even more intense than before. >> You going to be cool? You mind stepping on out? >> 135 headquarters. >> Ma'am, you mind stepping on out? Okay, >> ma'am. I don't want to pull you out of this car. Can you mind just stepping out? >> I'll be clear. I'll do an alarm. >> All right. >> Stop pulling me. >> Stop pulling me. If you were to talk to I don't give a y'all SITTING HERE AND GRABBING ME. NO, I'M ANGRY BECAUSE Y'ALL GRABBING ME. Y'ALL COULD HAVE CALLED THE FEMALE OFFICER. NO, IT'S NO WAY. SO WHY SHE WASN'T GRABBING ME? WHY Y'ALL GRABBING ME? WHY SHE WASN'T GRABBING ME? IT'S NOT YELLING. STOP YELLING. You're talking to me. Stop. >> Just leave me alone. Just get off of me. >> I can't cuz you're going to be with us for the next couple hours. the wall. The wall ma'am, please do. You do need to know your law. You need to study a little bit. You need >> I don't need to study nothing to know that a male officer is not supposed to be touching a female. >> Okay. Whatever. >> Okay. Whatever you want. >> Yeah, I know. I know. >> That's why you're under arrest. >> I don't care. >> Of course not. >> Yeah. On the bench. >> I know. >> What she search? >> This could have been handled much much differently. It's It's gonna go so smoothly if you just have maybe that you just >> I dropped the stuff. >> It doesn't matter. But you start walking away from our officers. >> I WAS NOT WALKING AWAY. I DROPPED THE STUFF. >> Have a seat, ma'am. Please. >> I don't want to sit down. >> Well, it's it Listen, this is going to go either really smoothly and get you out of here as fast as you can or you're going to be difficult and it's going to make it 10 times longer. So, can you just have a seat, please? Please. I'm asking you nicely. I've said please probably like three times so far. >> It was clear that the officers continued to treat the suspect with as much respect as possible. Yet that restraint seemed to make her believe she held the upper hand, leading her to act as if she had the right to be difficult. Have a seat. Please. Please sit down. Don't square up with them. That's that's a battle you're not going to win. Have a seat. Please have a seat. Have a seat. Sit down. >> Why you got to make this difficult? >> You're caught. >> Stop playing the games. You're caught. We I watched you. >> I didn't say I didn't do nothing. >> I watched you. >> I didn't say I didn't do anything. >> I said protection was watching you for about a good 20 minutes. >> I didn't say I didn't do anything. >> Okay. Well, again, we call you. You're calling. So, >> please cooperate us and we'll get you out of here as fast as possible. >> The way you act is going to depict this whole thing. Okay. I'm being nothing but polite to you and you're making it 10 times more difficult. >> Is that how you want this to go? It's >> fine. Just sit down. >> It is what you're making. >> We're trying to >> sit down. >> Trying to be quiet. >> Listen. Just stop. It's done. It's over with you. >> I'm trying to be nothing but play with you. >> You got a cup? >> Yeah. I'm covered. No, cuff her first. >> No, I'm taking >> Cuff her first. And if she's going to keep her hands behind her back, so be it. >> Move her down. >> She doesn't want to listen. >> Just problem. Just stop. It's over. All right. Just stop. >> The woman acted as if this were some childish game of emotional defiance. Silence can sometimes signal cooperation, but not here. There was no shame, no remorse, and no acknowledgement of her actions whatsoever. to cooperate with us. If we take the handcuffs off you, you're not going to start fllaying around and trying to hit us. Okay? This is trust between me and you right now. Okay? Let's make this work. Turn around for me a little bit. the other hand around. Do you want to sit or you want to stand? Listen, like I said, whatever happened out there happened out there. Let's try to turn that around and go in the right direction. Let me ask you, are you 18 years old? Yes. Okay. So, if so, give me a second. Water. >> [clears throat] >> I'm not I'm not going to ask you why you did what you did. Whatever you did, it happened. Okay, that's in the past. Whatever happened out there happened out there. Okay, so let's reset while we're inside. >> Once the woman was in the best possible condition, police still failed to obtain any further statement from her. With no cooperation at all, they were forced to make decisions based solely on what they had already established. You'll probably just get the two charges for shoplifting depending on what the degree. How much was it? >> 480. >> So at this point Kevin just go. >> So you've never been arrested before. >> It's a shoplifting >> and you have a resisting charge that you're going to get as well. Exactly. >> We'll see if we can get you out of here on a summon and and we're done. Okay. For today does not have to come to court. Actually, it'll be uh sent out to the superior court in Freehold cuz it's indictable crime. It's an indictable amount that $400 something dollars. Okay? So, you're going to get correspondence from Freehold, the Superior Court. They have to go after them. They'll most likely remand it back to municipal court here in D Falls where we hold our court. Okay? I'm just being straightforward with you. Okay? Just let's let's be honest with each other. You're honest with me. You give me your information. I'm trying to be the same way to you. Okay. Do we have any questions? No. >> Do you have a driver's license? >> I can't deal. >> You don't have Have you ever gotten any kind of ID from uh the DMV? >> Never. How'd you get the target? >> She was charged with shoplifting, resisting arrest, and obstruction for providing information. Defiance and silence only made a minor mistake spiral into serious charges. Cooperation could have ended the situation quickly, but pride and resistance turned it into a lasting legal consequence. Just as bad, the attitude of these shoplifterss was equally reprehensible. >> But you have to give me the chance to pay for that. >> You had the chance. I didn't had a chance >> had the chance to pay out there when kept asking I'll give you all her information. They left >> so they had a chance. >> That's basically kind of what they said. So >> on March 4th, 2024, police received a report from a gas station regarding two suspects who had stolen items from the store. When officers approached, both appeared visibly shaken by the sudden arrival of law enforcement. >> We need three police officers. >> We don't need three. We definitely need someone to go to Bogart. Uh, >> let him talk. He's going to talk to you about some plays right now. >> So, you guys are coming from over, right? >> Yeah. >> All right. Do you guys have IDs on you? >> I ain't got a lot of you on me. >> You need your ID on you? >> Yeah. >> Look at it real quick. >> Is this? So >> that's water. >> Just water. >> Is there alcohol? >> At that point, the officers decided to handcuff the suspects for temporary detention. But the situation quickly escalated as their attitude only fueled the tension. >> How did I commit? It's a ticket. It's easy. >> Let's go. For real? Like for real, bro? >> Yeah, for real. I've explained it to you five different times in multiple different ways. Have I not pay for my [ __ ] >> And I've explained to you multiple times you walked off the property la past the last purchase of sale. >> You going to arrest me? I'm paying >> It's retail theft, >> bro. What? Bro, this [ __ ] goofy as hell. And my all my stuff in there, too. Like, y'all going to arrest. >> We'll get that figured out later, >> bro. Do you have anything on you I need to know about? Anything sharp? Anything that's going to poke me? Anything that's going to blow me up? >> I didn't give you permission to search me either. >> Search incident to arrest. Doesn't matter. Y'all lost some bull. How How are you doing this if I'm offered? Like, y'all just want to arrest somebody. Bro, I've already explained it to you. >> The man never admitted his actions. Instead, he shifted the blame onto the officers, even resorting to increasingly irrational excuses in an attempt to justify himself. >> If I'm trying to pay for it, you should when when death occurs, you still have to give the person the prop the chance to return that item or pay for that item. You can't just arrest somebody off of that. When theft occurs, you have to give somebody the chance to return that item or pay for that item. I'm trying to pay for what you're saying. >> I'm trying to pay for it. >> Do you understand? If you go to Walmart and you don't pay for something, you walk out that door, it's a th >> bro. And when when the police call, they have pour in a cup and you walk out the store with a cup of alcohol. That's a >> But you have to give me the chance to pay for that. >> You had the chance. >> I didn't have the chance. We're not We're not going to discuss it out here. You can discuss it in court. >> I'm saying if you take the phone I'm saying if you take the phone right now you >> bro Can I talk to you? >> You guys boyfriend girlfriend? >> Yes. If you take Can I Can I talk to Can I talk to you though? >> Like bro, if you take the phone off >> you have any previous history? I don't know. We don't know. Well, then I don't know if you have >> In reality, the man and his girlfriend made no attempt to pay at all. They took the items and consumed them immediately outside and officers documented the scene as evidence. >> The furthest I got with that was I don't have to tell you. So, Do you want to take these lids off and just take a picture so that there's something liquid inside? >> Where that is? team 29. Both of them uh she's working on video right now. Both of them take their little drinks. Both of them grab alcohol. Both of them dump it in different cups. Both of them had the chance to pay out there when uh have to ask him. I'll give you all of her information as well later. Um they refused. They left. So they had a chance. >> That's basically kind of what they said. So >> and she said she was prosecute for sure. [snorts] >> Those were the wrongful actions uncovered by the police. Yet, the man showed no sense of guilt at all. Instead, he appeared almost amused as he rode in the patrol car to the police station. >> What's up, man? >> Living a dream. Why you don't do that [ __ ] though? >> Behind the car. Behind >> through the door. >> Through that door. Last bench on the left. >> Hey, >> let's go. >> I'll get those cuts off in a second. that ain't >> myself. >> He just gave you and he know what CD it is. They were both charged with theft. Denying wrongdoing and wearing confidence as a shield only made the consequences worse. Refusing responsibility [music] did not change the facts. It only ensured that the lesson would be learned the hard way. Next, the thief tried to show his cleverness, but it clearly wasn't enough. >> What did he say his name was? Hey. Hey. Hey, >> on March 8th, 2025, police responded to a report from a local supermarket about two suspects filling their carts with items, but with no intention to pay. Then one of them fled. This is what happened next when the police arrived at the scene. >> Is that him? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> What's going on, man? I'm talking to you. What's going on? What's going on? >> How about Espanol? >> Espanol City. >> Okay. Where's the other guy you're with? No, no, no, no. Where's the other guy you're with? >> Yeah. Where's the amigo you're with? >> Yeah. Yeah. Where's the amigo? >> Here's the thing. The door's locked. You're not going anywhere, right? So, we're just trying to figure out what's going on. >> 56 and 70. You speak Spanish. >> Hold on. Hold on. Give us a minute. We're trying to investigate something. Don't leave. All right. We got to investigate something. All right. >> 916 from 917. >> Clearly, the man understood everything the officers were saying. Yet, he continued to feain ignorance, pretending not to know anything, deliberately making it difficult for the police to handle the supposed language barrier. >> Do you speak Spanish? Yes, sir. >> All right. Maybe by the hunting uh bank sign right here. >> Yeah. Espanol. >> I guess this is one of Yeah, this is one of the subjects. Can you ask him what's going on? What he's doing? >> Ask him where his friends at. >> Is this one of them? Hey, he keeps trying he keeps wanting to leave. Do I have anything to hold him on or >> he's being trespassed? >> Trespass. All right, for sure. So, he said that he got dropped off by what car? A truck. >> A blue truck. >> A blue truck. Yeah. >> You just got dropped off. his Mexican boss left him. He's saying that he got dropped off to do uh what's it called? To buy stuff and now he feels offended because everyone's following him and all that stuff. >> What about the other guy that was watching? >> He said that it's he met him here. >> No, he said this just so I have this correct. He got dropped off here by his boss in a blue truck. He met another subject here. They both decided to load carts full of merchandise. And I just right. You got his no. He said he don't have an ID. Date of birth. >> Even when communication was no longer an issue, the information still seemed completely unclear. At this point, the officers issued a formal warning based on the store's decision. He says he's new here and this is all he >> So, he's going to be trespassed. Okay. Verify his identity cuz if we can't verify his identity, >> we're going to have to uh verify his identity. Um got his date of birth. We got his date of birth. He's saying he feels uncomfortable that he doesn't know. He's saying that he hasn't committed a crime. He wants to leave. But he's committed the crime of trespassing. Tell him he's trespassing. We have to give him a warning that he can no longer be here. Okay. >> I already gave him the warning though. So >> Okay. >> So he's trespassed, right? >> Okay. >> He's being trespassed. to verify his identity before we can. >> Okay. Trespassing, right? So, what >> at this point, the backup police team had also arrived to assist with the situation, but this seemingly only heightened the man's frustration. >> He says that uh he doesn't know his phone number, the info he gave me, his name, date of birth, and address. He says he lives the guys who dropped him off is Juan Rodriguez, who also lives at him, lives with him. He says the the black gentleman that was in here before he doesn't know him in here. He was gonna pay for all those stuff with his zel, but now he's offended and he wants to leave and he's not going to he's not going to buy the items anymore. He's just going to leave. >> We explained to him that he >> that he's trespassed. >> Yeah. >> They'll be explaining to him that they've been reported by other stores and he says that he wasn't there. >> Okay. He's saying that he was just going to buy it with zel and he was going to do it. >> Okay. >> He's saying he's a hard worker. >> Okay. So, >> where's the other guy? >> We still can't find him. You think he's still somewhere in the store? >> We searched the whole store, the band, everything like that. We can't find him. We could do one more walk through with someone who knows this store better than us if they like, but we try and start. >> The officers decided to pursue the investigation to the very end, making the man realize that escaping would be unlikely. As a result, he soon took a reckless action that quickly spiraled out of control. >> What did he say his name was? >> Hey. Hey. HEY. 70 is running. We're running towards the street towards Shanero. Hey. Hey. In the piece. Back up. Hurry. Hurry. >> Sorry. Shoulder. >> I got him. You got him. >> Bro, you good. Though he did not admit it, his act of [music] fleeing spoke for itself. Now there was no way for him to deny his actions. >> You got anything else on you? >> I thought I got him better than me, but then >> he had all the momentum going. >> That hockey stuff already, man. >> He had all the momentum. >> Good morning. 120 in Somerset over Henry 12119 Henry 1219 120 >> We got a camera roll in here 120 Okay. [snorts] >> Of course, this is going to be some great video. He came right out the door and he's looking at me. I just go, "All right." And I just like freaking popped him as hard as I could and we slammed him, but he had all the momentum. >> Started running from inside the store >> and then I Yeah, >> he was there. I had him over by the cash register away from the door. Then when I went to go look at the photo, >> they migrated right towards his door. >> As soon as Sergeant went to go get the picture of him, >> yeah, >> he bolted. >> The man was charged with obstruction, resisting [music] arrest and providing false information. The man's attempt to escape spoke louder than any denial. His actions left him with no way to dispute his wrongdoing, serving as a clear lesson on how trying to evade responsibility only escalates consequences. Next, the lesbian couple ran, lied, and [music] tried to disappear. What ending did it lead to? >> Oh, so I'm going out. They're in front of >> Hi, Catherine. How are >> you? Put that down. >> On August 25th, 2023, police received a call from Target reporting two women involved in theft who tried to flee the scene. Upon arrival, officers swiftly confronted one suspect, sparking immediate chaos. >> Stop. >> Down there. >> Do it down there. Stop. >> I swear to God. Going down there. >> Stop. >> Down here. >> Stop. >> Come here. Here. >> Stop. >> Babe, babe, >> I'm going out. They're in front of >> Babel help. Babe, help. Babe, help. Babe, help me. STOP. >> FOR WHAT? FOR WHAT? BABE, help me. Babe, help. >> I'm out with her in front of the four. Stop. Put your hands behind your back. >> Okay. Okay, babe. Help me. >> You're making this way worse for yourself. >> I'm not biting do anything. >> You're making this way worse for yourself. >> Can I get it up, please? Real quick, please. I can't breathe. Please. >> Good. Turn around. >> Make it up, PLEASE. GET UP, PLEASE. QUICK. >> Making this way worse yourself. >> Where are you coming from? >> Marshalls. >> Marshalls? >> Yeah. >> Where else? >> Mar. Marget. Marshalls. And I went to Sierra. My fiance was at Target. That's who that's who you're looking for. Wearing a white shirt and and gray shorts. That's why I was telling you. >> They said a female. >> Yeah, that's her. It's It's a female. She has short hair, white shirt, gray pants. That's what you're looking for. >> I think that's not me. That's >> Yeah, that's what I know right now. >> Down there. The woman fabricated the existence of another person to shift the blame. But this raised a question. If she were innocent, why did she run when confronted by the police? >> Yeah, but when I told you to stop, you started running away from >> Okay. >> Nothing. I I went to the to Marshall. She You're looking for her. >> I don't want to say you know that you're looking for me looking for car around here because >> Yeah. Pull it pull it in the parking. I'll walk over. You got any warrants? >> No. >> Not that you know of. No, I don't. >> Where you from? >> Gordon County. Where you live down here? >> Um, I'm living down here right now because I'm homeless. >> So, I'm moving down in there with my fiance and my and my friend. >> What's your fiance's name? >> Her name is Catherine. >> Catherine. >> Um, last name is Henderson. H A N D E R S O N. She's right down there in the room. That's who I heard her 105. I heard her calling for the woman outside of Target calling for her. And I told her to just stop and like just stop, but she kept going. But you were looking for me. You're looking for her >> for real. >> Oh, you can't run regardless. >> I understand. I was wrong. I was there. >> At this point in the patrol car, she realized it was impossible to change the truth with the police. And that's when she confessed. >> If you're lying to us that there's a receipt on here, it's not going to do any good either way. It It's over at this point. So, do you really have a receipt on here or do you not have a receipt on here? >> I have a receipt for for part of them and not all of them. I'll be honest with you. >> All right. All right. So, there is certain things that you paid for and certain things that you didn't. Yes. All right. All right. Do you want Do you want to pull that up? You don't have to show us. I'm just going to be honest with you. >> It's up to you. We're going to go to the store and we're going to find out. >> I'm just going to scan and they're going to tell us what was taking all this wasn't. >> You'll just speed things along if if you want to show us, but it's totally your decision. We're not going to go in your phone unless you give us consent. >> Okay. Well, I can show you what was and what was if you want. >> No, that's all right. >> Okay. >> We'll hold off. We'll just take her over there. >> Just go all over there. >> At least you're being honest, though. >> Yeah, I appreciate that. I know. I know. I got you. I got you. It's not the end of the world. >> All right. We'll just >> She doesn't have ID on her either. That's the only other thing. >> I'm sure we'll find out. >> Yeah. Yeah. Looking back, her actions were executed with swift, deliberate calculation, suggesting this was likely not her first time. Police quickly raised the same suspicion. >> Have you ever been arrested for shoplifting? >> Um, a while ago, like 10 years ago. Um, I had I went and filled out paperwork for public defender yesterday. >> You went to what? I went to Neptune and filled out paperwork for a public defender yesterday for something for a charge I didn't get I didn't get arrested for. [laughter] Um I'm waiting to see the judge for that. I had to I have court for that in December. Um yeah, but that's from I didn't get arrested for it. I saw the judge via Zoom last week and she said, "You have until Thursday to file paperwork for a public defender and then we go from there." And I went and did that yesterday, but I haven't been charged with anything like it yet. But like I said, I didn't even get arrested for anything. I haven't shoplifted in. They said they had me on camera doing something, but I didn't actually get like like an officer didn't come and pick me up is what I'm trying to tell you. Since 2013. Meanwhile, by the store, an officer arrived in time to verify the report and locate the second suspect with the entire process clearly [music] captured on surveillance cameras. >> Hello. >> Hey, how are you? >> Good. So, we got the one of the two. We got the one that had the black bag. >> So, she has merchandise in here. So, she wasn't being 100% truthful with us, but she said some of that is hers. That she had a receipt, but doesn't have She said it's on her phone, but she doesn't have it with her. Is there a way you guys can tell? >> Yeah. So, she's saying she bought a few things and stole the rest. So, I know for sure what was taken. >> I mean, she never goes to the register, but I'll be able to find that stuff. I can run it and find no transaction by her. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She didn't even go to a register today. All right. Then she stole it all. Yeah. I mean, if she didn't even go to register, >> let her go to court and figure it out. >> Did this one steal anything? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Not sure who we were like physically watching today. >> Okay. Really? >> Yeah. She was the one we saw like this is going to be her. >> Let me I'm just going to put a quick description out on her. Is that Is that a female? Is that like a female? >> Female. Short hair. >> Yeah. >> They're the two that ride the bikes down the highway and they go into Asbury and then they come back. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. >> Right now it looks like uh The other suspect's going to be a short white female with short hair, white t-shirt, and a backpack. Possibly stole some undershirts. She slings the card around. Backpacks off. Everything is in. >> Well, this is what we're watching in real time. >> Yeah. The items were then recovered and returned by police. Though they appeared simple, their combined value was far from small. >> You still need the total for the person with the backpack. >> Yeah, >> I'll just grab her to look like. >> And then I got you a case number, too. >> I got I got it for you. >> Okay. Thank you. Don't worry. Here you go. Thank you. >> I thought I had >> Thank you. Thank you. The stuff that she didn't pay for was her her three lighters, >> a box knife, and like a >> That's like her stuff. >> That's her That's Yeah. So, she's clearly uh >> I don't think she used that knife to cut anything. >> Nope. Nope. Nope. I think it just at the bottom of this ready. There's something. >> Okay. Um, let's go through this. Um, That's just one as well. That's cool. This is what you bought the other ones. So, >> I was way off. >> Yeah. >> One pairs are 26 bucks. So, it comes to like $144.95. >> Sounds. Shortly after, police approached a house based on the suspect description, hoping to locate the second woman. But when the door opened, the person inside was not who they were looking for. >> Yes. >> Hello. How are you? >> Good. >> Is Catherine around? >> Who's Catherine? >> Catherine? White girl with short hair? >> Not that I know of. >> Not that you know of. >> Not that I know. >> Is anyone else in there with you? >> No, not that I know of. I just got in here. I was next door. So, >> okay. Is this We should take a quick look. We're just looking for C. can't give you permission to do that. >> Is this your place? >> No, it's not my place. >> Whose place is it? >> It's A1's. >> It's A1's. >> Who's A1? >> He's a good friend of mine. >> Okay. >> But I can't give you permission. >> Okay. >> Do you know where the girl with short hair? Does she stay here or stay? >> I don't know. >> All right. >> All right. >> Well, be a shame. I just Here's the thing. There was a minor thing that happened. Uh, we're just trying to end it right now. Otherwise, we got to put a warrant out for her. She going to go right to the county jail. It's a little thing. If she's here, boom, boom, boom. Summoned on her way. But we don't find her today. She got a warrant. She goes right to jail. So, you can >> All right. Okay. Okay. I just We just got to leave this a little bit. You can you can close her right there. >> It was clear something was being hidden in the woman's statement. Even her request for time to close the door was clearly meant to speak with someone inside. The truth came to light shortly after. >> What does she do? What does she do? >> I mean, if she's not like family, we can't really say, but I can tell you for sure that it's a it's a minor thing. Disorderly person's thing. Not the end of the world. I think she knows. >> Hi, Catherine. How are you? >> Want to put that down. Thank you for coming out. We appreciate you down. Make sure you didn't do anything. Okay. >> Just a minor thing at Target. You know what it's about. Do you have any drugs or anything on you that's going to hurt me? Poke me. >> Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. >> All right. You good, Case? >> Yep. So, we just want to ask you a question. Where's the bag that you took that we saw on camera? Where? >> Back here. >> Where? Over here. >> Back in the by the Oh, over there by the dealership. >> By the dealership. If I drove you over there, could you show me where you threw it? >> I mean, kind of. I threw everything like I threw it loose. >> Yeah. Okay. I didn't want to be caught with it. >> Just put your hands together like you're Brian. >> You have any warrants, Catherine? Nope. >> You got any warrants? I don't know if I've never met you before. Been arrested before or not. >> It's a shoplifting. It's not the end of the world. Get you out in a summon and go to court. All right. >> All right. >> Appreciate your cooperation. Good luck to you. >> All right. >> Both of them were charged with shoplifting. Meanwhile, the first woman was also charged with resisting arrest. Trying to outrun the truth only made the consequences worse. Panic, lies, and flight turned a simple theft into serious charges. Worse, remorse never existed in this woman's mind. >> Okay, what will be the charge? >> Grand theft and scheme of fraud. As of now, one count of grand theft and scheme of fraud. >> But there's going to be more counts of [music] grand theft coming down the road once they can go through everything and atomize every individual transaction. On November 8th, 2022, police received a report from a Wind Dixie store regarding an internal employee theft. It was revealed that the employee had been stealing lottery tickets through multiple methods since early July. To understand the full scope of the scheme, investigators reviewed the detailed statement provided by the store manager. >> So, what's happening is we have an associate um Okay, we've started seeing some lottery shortage over here. For instance, ticketing online. Um it started back around beginning of July. Um and it's gone on till present. So >> since July lottery cards >> lottery cards playing online tickets. >> Yes. >> Okay. You want to go back in real quick? >> Okay. You said >> I don't know what's going on so I can I don't want my keys to be stuck out the door and >> I know. Well, we don't I don't know what's going on yet. So let me talk to him and we'll go from there. Um, so I have her on video, you know, select the tickets mainly at the liquor store. She would just scratch the bottom to see if they're a winner or not, discard them if they weren't, cash them if they were. And there's also another process on the cash register to aware. Um, like if somebody brings up a winning ticket, we can key in instant lottery redemption and then put in the dollar amount. Then we pay that out. Well, she figured out that she could do that even without a winning ticket and everything's still balanced on the back end in our world. But then when we got the bill for the lottery, then obviously we were like, okay, well, we paid out more redemptions than what we received. >> And so that's when all this started to so we're looking at um total that I can prove that she >> was $10,653, something like that. >> And to clarify further, the prime suspect was the woman who had just stepped out through the door at the beginning. Her behavior showed no sign of remorse. Instead, she even attempted to eavesdrop on the investigation, [music] prompting officers to step in and stop the disruption. >> They're all active because we're all, you know, freaking >> I don't know what's going on for a cup. >> I will tell you. We're trying to figure that out. I'm trying to figure out what I have. Okay. I'm going to figure out if we're taking a not taking a >> I will let you know. Once I know, I will let you know. Okay. So, can you sit down for me? >> I don't want to lose my kids again. I have a seven and a child in school right now having an asthma attack. >> So, let them figure out what's going on. >> Just take a seat for me. They'll figure it out. >> You know, they'll they'll let you figure. >> So, I just can't just go home. >> Why? >> Because the allegations I guess we have going on against investigating this. >> Okay. Well, now that they did their investigation, now they could tell us what they have going on. He had to talk to somebody else to finish going on. >> Well, they're providing us a verbal statement. What's been going on since July? Okay. So, we It's not more like you just stole a candy bar. Okay. I guess there's a question about almost $11,000 worth of lottery tickets. >> Okay. >> The woman was already wearing a backpack, claiming she needed to leave to pick up a family member. Clearly, she showed no concern for her alleged wrongdoing toward her personal matters. Instead, I just saw that she got up over there and he moved back. So, >> how could you jump? Cuz she told me to make a phone call. >> So, I'm trying to think of who can I call to get my kids and the school. >> Her children are about to get out of school. So, she was >> But I do need to >> That's what I'm trying to figure out cuz people manipulate. >> So, I'm trying to think who went around my house. >> I'm trying to figure it out. >> That's what I'm trying to >> So, while we're doing figuring out stuff here, so you figure out what's going on. So, if you've had some police stated that they were just talking to me about this 2 month story, >> I will gladly ask you. Don't worry about that. But I'm telling you right now, I'm going to be talking with them. We're going to figure out what we have going on. You have until by the time we come in here and talk to you about what's going on to figure out a ride for your family, for your kids, and stuff going to jail. >> There's a possibility. >> Why? >> Because apparently you stole almost $11,000. like the Cory and Charles that run this store, they had a conversation with me and they wrote me up for. >> But let me, like I said, let me figure out what they have over here. Just get somebody see if they can pick your kids up just in case if you do happen to go to jail. >> Think I'm trying to think who can I call. My family don't stay here. They say it's Georgia. >> Okay. Well, you need to figure out a family friend or somebody or else I can call my friends child services. >> So, can I call y'all? um one of the police officers that used to work with you guys. >> Used to or does tell you about the meeting we had? >> Hang on. >> At that moment, the woman was allowed to use the restroom, but before officers could put proper safeguards in place, she rushed away. Her sudden move immediately raised suspicion, prompting police to chase after her. >> Where she at? >> She's coming. I don't know where she's at. >> Please don't run from me. Slow down. Slow down. Slow down. Slow down. Slow down. >> In the bathroom. >> I'm not trying to. >> Okay. So, what's going on? >> So, basically, here's what's going to happen. Okay. They refusing you of making having some type of >> what you saying is well listen you saying there's my number but you don't have it on video that is speaking to me with videos. >> I'm just saying like I said that's allegations as of now. Okay. We haven't conducted our investigation. So >> come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. You're making a big deal. She could have calmly complied with a private body search, yet instead chose to turn it into a public and complicated scene, showing no sign of guilt whatsoever. >> We have her. She might be We're getting in trouble. Yeah. >> Investigation. Turn around. >> You got anything on you? You got to cut. >> Let's go. Let's go back to the bathroom. >> No, cuz I trust by the back door. >> You're coming back there. >> Watch the bathroom. >> We're going back through those black doors right there. Okay. >> To the bathroom. We're not going to the bathroom. We're going through those black doors. >> You're not just relax. >> I am tripping around. Only thing on me is my ID he took in my phone in my glasses. Only thing in my boobs are is my my teeth. She's seven months and I'm still breastfeeding. >> Oh, okay. >> Y'all thought I actually would have something on me. >> I'm sorry. I don't trust police. I watch the movies and I Shortly afterward, police received the store's final decision and informed the suspect. Even then, her attitude remained striking and hard to ignore. >> That's what we're sto. It's over a,000. It's over 750. >> Okay. So, what's going on? >> One counter and uh well, that's the statute for um I don't know. That's it. It's a very simple scheme. >> Yeah. >> And it's not it's not as complicated as >> I don't understand why I'm getting stuck with this, but okay. All righty. This is what's happening. Okay. You're going to take a ride to jail. Okay. So, sit down. >> Come on. >> Who do you need to call? >> I don't have nobody to go get my kids. So, come on. You catch me. >> Hang tight. We have some some things that need to be handled over here. So, have a seat. >> Okay. What will be the charge? >> Grand theft and scheme of defraud. As of now, one count of grand theft and scheme of defraud, but there's going to be more counts of grand theft coming down the road once they can go through everything and and atomize every individual transaction. So, every transaction is a theft. So, I'm going to have a felony charge. >> Yes. >> Two felonies. >> But it's one count now, but it's going to add up. >> Okay. So, I won't even get no bun. Okay. >> The woman offered no cooperation to help the situation move forward. Instead, she made matters increasingly difficult even during the process of escorting her into custody. >> My arm. >> Okay. Well, I'm trying to put your arms. Like you're praying like this. Like you're praying. Stop pulling from me. Hang on. >> Please put your hand behind your back. >> Okay, >> stop pulling. Do you understand that? >> Down the stairs. I don't walk down the stairs. >> Doesn't matter. You're pulling from me. >> You don't do anything that I don't tell you to do. Do you understand that? >> My hand was on your couch. >> I do that car. I'm not happy just >> No, I'm not happy. I just cleaned it. >> Excuse me, sir. >> Angel. >> Sir. >> Angel. >> Excuse me. >> Finally, the woman was charged with fraud and grand theft with her bond set at $4,000. Refusing to cooperate, showing no remorse, and complicating an investigation never protects someone. It reinforces suspicion and turns a manageable situation into a far worse outcome. Next, another pair of shoplifterss and their chase was just as chaotic. GET OUT THE [ __ ] GROUND. >> ON September 25th, 2022, police received a call from Walmart reporting a theft in progress by a male suspect. According to surveillance footage, one man had stuffed a canvas bag full of merchandise while another acted as a lookout. Meanwhile, officers waited outside, quietly watching every second of the pair's checkout routine as the trap closed in on them. Let me know if he blows past. Is everyone with him or just him? Blue bag's still in and it looks like it has stuff in it. Oh, he's got more than one blue bag. >> Okay. Okay, which one? All right. The moment these men stepped through the exit, officers moved in to block their path. But what they did next was something the police never saw coming. >> How's it going? We can go in here and talk. You're going to walk in there. Stop. DON'T [clears throat] Stop fighting. I want to just stay down. >> Just watch. The remaining suspect lingered nearby, watching everything unfold while his partner erupted into violent resistance, even bolting for the doors in a desperate [music] attempt to escape. [clears throat] 88. Where you at? [ __ ] STOP NOW. GET ON the ground. >> Get on the [ __ ] ground. >> Put your hands behind YOUR BACK. HURRY UP. LET me talk to you. Get the guy out there. You >> 97 on the west side of Walmart. >> Hey, look. Look, let me be telling you something. >> Put your hands behind your back. I support him. Please, [snorts] which way you go? >> I don't know where. >> Yep. >> Put your hand behind your back. >> Put your hand behind your back. Get it. That chase had caused a lot of difficulty for the officers. While the remaining suspect believed he was innocent because he had paid for his own items, even ignoring the police's commands, >> man. You said you were walking your friends. Take off. >> I know my girlfriend. >> Take off. You've been following back and forth with this guy. Go. I know you're with him. >> Leave. >> Okay. I pay for my I got money in my >> Leave. >> All right. You can walk around and away. >> Touch me too. [ __ ] wrong with you, ho? >> I'm telling my girlfriend to get a car key. >> This he was with him. >> Yeah. It was just a scuffle inside. >> Yeah. >> You need to walk away from me, man. >> You need to go >> waiting for my girlfriend, man. >> You're staying right with me everywhere I go. >> No, I'm going this way, [ __ ] Get my girlfriend for the car key. What's >> wrong with you, man? >> You want to head to the store? This one's not. >> You want him in the store? >> No, he's trespassing. >> Just come outside. >> Why? >> Because we're done with you. >> Hey, look. My girlfriend. >> Hey, look. I'll resist, man. Look. >> They got me right here. They're handcuffing me, too. >> Stop. >> They're right here. Just let grab this car. >> I'm running outside. Okay, we're going outside because you're handcuffing me for no reason cuz I want to go get you. >> Oh my god. What? What is that doing? >> And you decided that you didn't want >> There she is. Man, >> their act of stealing and covering for each other had sparked the entire incident. And the attempted escape had dragged both the officers and the suspects into a situation none of them wanted. Well, I'm glad you you had the intention cuz not not everybody's trying to help us out here. >> Screw that. And I couldn't believe that staff was telling me, "Don't get involved, sir. Don't get involved." When I saw that arc swing around going for that guy's gun, I said, "Fuck if I'm not going to get involved." >> I feel bad actually now that I didn't because I that >> I was standing right there. I mean, there's no reason whyisted in pinning him down. >> You did more than sir. >> Sir, is there anything that hurts on you? Anything you know is injured? bleeding. >> My head, >> your elbow, your head. >> Anything hurt on you? Anything torn, broken that you know of? >> No. >> No. >> That's all right. >> No. >> Was that chill the [ __ ] out? >> Well, then sit up. >> [ __ ] Hold on. My hands are [ __ ] [ __ ] >> Sit down. >> You want to act like a kid? That's cool. I'll treat you like a kid. >> Like a [ __ ] [ __ ] fool. Put your feet in. Hold on, bro. My hands, you idiot. >> This is them walking out together at the same time right here. >> Okay. Cuz if it's felony, we can hit him with conspiracy to commit as well, >> then. Yes, cuz he was for sure on the way out. >> Okay. All right. Yeah. Just make sure. Yeah, we include him in all the video footage. And uh I'll talk to the sergeant and we'll see what we can do. >> He's got five pills. >> Oh, yeah. Metros, obviously. and um several bits of powder. We're waiting to get the final amount, see if it's felony or not. Also, >> get his name and I'll do links and title. >> Okay. >> Uh 75207 was the total before taxes. >> How much before taxes? >> 75207. Still felony. [cough] [clears throat] >> There we go. Finally catching my breath. [laughter] He was charged with shoplifting, conspiracy to commit shoplifting, resisting or obstructing an officer, trafficking in controlled substances, and possession [music] of controlled substances. Deliberately stealing and covering for an accomplice only leads to legal trouble. Cooperating with police from the start could have prevented the situation from spiraling out of control. In the next case, you'll be shocked by how much money an employee stole from her own boss. add $8,000. Yeah, this just in my mouth. I'm like, it hurts me a lot. On September 14th, 2022, police received a report from Plato Closet about an employee who had stolen over $115,000 from the cash register. Officers arrived immediately, and it seemed from the manager statement that she still had no idea she had been caught. >> Um, have you said anything to her? No, absolutely not. >> No, sir. >> Okay. Um, now the video surveillance. Um, so I noticed there's the 14th of this morning. >> Yep. >> And if I got that correct, you can't pull up any records or print out. Are you able to print out anything from the registers? >> From maybe yesterday, but not today. >> Okay. So, nothing from today. So now I know some registers like you can't do a finalized report up front, but you might be able to print like a >> Yeah, I can probably I can probably call Laura and get it done and she might be able to do it and send it over to me. >> Gotcha. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Now those cameras are the 14th and 12th. What happened to the 13th? >> There was two days there. Were you able to get a third day? >> Is today the 14th or the 13th? >> Today's the 14th. >> It It was the 13th and 14th she did. Not on the 12th. Did I put the 12th? >> We'll just ask. I thought Yeah, you wrote 12 on the envelope. So, all right. So, the date is wrong on the envelope. So, it's today and yesterday >> and yesterday. >> Okay. And did you go back to look at anything on the >> on today's >> was she working on this? >> On the 12th. Um, >> no, there wasn't there wasn't any discretions on on that. >> Okay. >> Yeah, there's no discretions on that. As far as if you look at those sheets that I gave you, I think it wasn't just the 13th and the 14th. I think the 12th is clear. >> Okay. According to the investigation report, she had created numerous fraudulent transactions in the system with total losses exceeding $220,000. At this point, police approached the woman while she still thought she was just working her usual shift. >> Hey, how are you? >> Good. >> Deputy Ly, mind if I talk to you for a few minutes? We go in the back. >> Sure. >> All right. I'll let you lead the way to the office. >> Go ahead. You >> uh Oh, dang. I don't have the >> Oh, he doesn't. That's all right. You just step out. >> Yeah. >> I wanted to talk to you cuz I have video surveillance. >> Okay. About the past couple days while you've been working doing these buys. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And you take these buys. I see you on camera taking cash, putting it in your pants. Do >> you want to tell me a little bit about that? >> Uh yeah. Um >> to be honest with you, like we're we're in a part right now to just fix it. So just being honest and helping us do the right thing and figure it out is the best way to move. Does that make sense? Like we've already been looking at this all morning. So >> we're not here to we're not here to get you to tell us everything. We know a lot already. So that's why we're just asking for you to be honest, right? So that's important. >> Yeah. >> Upon hearing the allegations, she even appeared calmer than her manager. Though in reality, she was anxious and trying to act composed. Her halting and hesitant words gave away her true fear. >> I just been having some stuff that I don't want. And uh well, majority of it is yeah, I shouldn't be taking money from him. Um for two times I have done that. Um the other times um >> now have you brought where is this stuff that you brought in? >> Um it's already like out on the floor. But it's just been like two purses and a pair of shoes. But anything else I >> You said honesty has been a big year >> cuz I've watched the video surveillance. It is you're not bring you're not bringing anything in the store. the la the last like probably like I want to say two weeks ago I have been I I brought in two purses and a pair of shoes but um for the rest of the part the rest of the times I haven't. >> So you would say only twice is that am I correct only twice you brought in actual merchandise swapped it out? >> Yes. Yes. But the other the rest of the times you have done these transactions, you just scammed the register. >> Yeah. >> To think that there was a buy done. >> Yes. >> More than 200 times. >> More than 200. >> Yeah. >> I wouldn't say that. >> Less than 200. >> I I don't even think it's 200 times, but I'm pretty sure >> 100 times. How about How about this? It seemed this woman underestimated the scale of her own scam as she had no idea of the total value she took or simply took items without paying attention to their price. >> How much money do you think you take? >> About I want to say a thousand. >> You want me a thousand? >> Yeah. >> Cuz I have all the documentation. I have paperwork dating back until January and I see all the and it's totaling way more than $1,000. You're doing a couple hundred. You're doing hundred something dollars a day. >> How much did you take today? >> It's like 150 I think. >> Is that typically what you drink in a day? >> Yeah, I would say. >> Is it always over 100%? >> Yeah. And you say that you've done it at least 20 times. So if it's over 100 and you've done it 20 times, that's 2,000 right there. And that's a rough estimate, right? See what I mean? How that adds up? >> So where is this money? >> Um I have it. >> You're saving it. You have it? >> Yeah. >> You have all the money. I I I don't know how much it would be. >> If I were to say $16,000, >> would that be about what it is? >> Yeah. >> Do you think you have all that $16,000? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I know this makes me look like a stealer. Like I'm stealing money. Like I mean that's like the most thing you could probably ever steal from somebody. probably makes me look bad. It makes me look that I steal things, but I don't. >> So, she was aware of the actual value she took, but tried to downplay it.
