That's 110% truth. I have no intentions to steal. Whatever I have, I'm going through. And like I said, it's selfch CHECKOUT >> at Walmart trying to catch me shoplifting when I'm not shoplifting. >> What's in there? >> Huh? >> What's in there? >> White residue. >> That's not mine. >> That's not yours. You were holding on to the keys right now. From what seemed like a simple shoplifting case, officers uncovered even more secrets behind the suspects. Whether it was evidence that this wasn't their first offense or contraband they were carrying, every discovery only added more charges. You'll see it all in today's video when dumb shoplifterss think they can steal at Walmart. Beginning with this case where the woman's denial failed to convince anyone. >> I don't think she got any going through. I have no intentions to steal. And that's the 110% true. >> That's 110% true. >> On the 10th of June 2024, police received a report from Walmart about a shoplifting incident. The suspect was believed to be a woman who had intentionally used the selfch checkout to skip scan items. But what she didn't know was that every move she made was being watched behind the screens. >> Or the kitchen. I don't think she got anything on the bottom. Let me check. >> Yeah, she has a big locker, too. >> She told me last time, "Are you mad? Did you work at Walmart?" I said, "Girl, you can't give me a job." >> As soon as the woman confidently pushed her cart out of the store, believing no one had caught her, she was stopped. You want to do this? Just take them in there with him. You do with me this way. You all want him to do trespasses too? What do you want? >> Trespass off. Okay. What exactly? So the shot flipping trespass or just trespass? >> Yes, both. >> As soon as she was seated in the loss prevention office, the woman immediately played the victim, explaining her circumstances in an attempt to deny what she had done. >> I'm just going through. I have no intentions to steal. And that's the 110% truth. That's 110% truth. I have no intentions to steal. Whatever I have, I'm going through. And like I said, it's selfch checkout. I mean, everybody >> seen some of yours. You use like different tags. Try to use different tags for me. >> When did I do that? >> Oh, I don't recall the date, but yeah, I did some. >> So, do me a favor. Hang out here and then I'm going to get your trespasses and then we'll come around. after CJ like where are you sending not I don't mind but policy you >> with no shame showing on her face nothing she said convinced the loss prevention staff or the officer they therefore placed her in handcuffs temporarily to continue the process >> come here real quick >> you're going to go with these ones here >> excuse me stand Put your hand out. People are out here screaming, yelling. I'm like, I don't know what to do. Like, I'm sorry, man. Like, I got nothing to help you out with. And then like AC like I don't know why you shoot over it. >> Oh, no. That's the thing is it's still alive. >> Oh, it's alive. >> Yeah. It's like Well, I'm coming out of It's like terrible situation out there. >> That's the only thing I I could offer. >> Yeah. So, I show up. I pull in the parking lot. Like, I see people like this like what's going on like what's up? And this cat is like >> his little paws are like and they're like 10 minutes like they're like this and I'm like I'm like I want to touch that thing. They might laugh. >> They said we were stealing. >> You have an necklace on or anything? Yeah. >> Okay. Go with you. Go over here to the back of the car. I'll make sure to put your stuff in a bag. All right. Have a seat for me. Oh my god. What is that? That looks great. Okay. Hop in. And then I'll get on the other side. >> Afterward, their receipt showed a total value of $100. Police approached one of the two suspects to ask how they wanted the refund handled and learned that they had an EBT card. >> Hey, [snorts] quick question. So, they were asking about the groceries. Do you want somebody to come by and pick them up or do you want them to refund it to your card? >> Um, probably just refund it. I don't think >> just refund it. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Would they would they be able to do that though cuz it's through uh the EVT. Would they be able to do that or No, >> they should be able to. I can ask really quick. >> Yeah. If they can do out just >> in the end, Madison was charged with shoplifting and trespass. No matter how confident someone feels at selfch checkout, cameras can catch every item that never gets scanned. Denying the obvious only makes the consequences harder to avoid. Next, the woman was revealed to be a professional shoplifter minuteby minute. >> Don't go in your pants. Just >> I'm not going in my pants. >> You were just going in your pants. >> I don't have anything in my pants. >> I know you didn't pay for it. So, where'd it come from? >> CVS. Good boy. >> On the 3rd of October 2024, police pursued a woman after she attempted to flee Target following an alleged shoplifting incident. She even tried to remove the items while her escape was failing, which immediately made the officer suspicious of her behavior. >> Why are you taking off your sweater for? Put your sleeves back on. >> Put your sleeves back on. >> This is not even yours. >> That's it. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Stop. Stop. Stop. Arrested. >> What do you want done here? >> Uh, basically referred to if you guys need her information. >> Take her. You want her arrested? You >> don't have any? >> No, I don't have any. That's a t-shirt. >> Everything as soon as you But I gave it back to you. >> Don't tense up, please. >> I gave it back. >> Yeah, like I was trying to stop her and she just took out. >> But I gave it back. >> Your car. >> We got to not custoain now. Yeah, I have two strokes. >> Two strokes. Take them out for me. >> And she also like stuffed a bunch of stuff in like >> That's it. Sure. >> Here. How about you put your hands behind your back right now? >> All right. >> I'm playing like >> Stop. >> Okay. >> Why you pull away from me? >> I didn't pull away. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> I don't know. We can get one over here. Stop. Stop. >> And I have >> Okay. Can you stop moving? >> I have nothing. >> While recovering the merchandise from the woman, the officers found another suspicious item which could have resulted in additional charges against her. >> You head over to the target. Put it up right where you want to. >> I give it 2700. Whoever is the closest. >> Come on, baby. >> What's in there? >> Huh? >> What's in there? White residue. >> That's not mine. >> That's not yours. You were holding on to the keys right now. Get another piece of >> I think I might have one. >> What's in there? Is it coer? >> All right. 27. >> I know you have a long time. Is it co hero? >> Yes. >> We need to know so we're safe and you're safe. Is it co hero? >> That's correct. >> Correct. Correct. >> I don't think there's no more in there. >> There's some in there. >> There's some in there. >> You got any more that I need? >> No. >> Okay. >> Going to come over here and we're going to find it. >> Is there more in the car? >> No. >> No. Are you sure? >> When was the last time you used it today? You're sweating your ass up. I'm listening to you. >> I was running. I was trying to see who's going to beat you. >> He's going to beat you. Stop. Stop. Don't go in your pants. Just >> I'm not going in my >> You were just going in your pants. Don't be >> I don't have anything in my pants. I have >> Keep your hands. Try going into your pants. >> In addition to the merchandise recovered from her, the officers also found items from another store, raising suspicions that this was not the first theft she had committed that day. They confronted her about it afterward. That stuff is there's some TJ Maxx stuff in there with tags on. You can see why we have a little bit of a harder time accepting the buildings for your kids when you've got tracks. That means any money you do have is going to crack. >> Those are not only I don't care. It doesn't bother doesn't affect me one way or the other. Okay. >> The officers also suspected that the woman was hiding even more. So they considered searching her vehicle. >> Yeah. Listen, we're going through the car, okay? Car's getting towed from Wilson. None of us want to get hurt. We want fentan. >> We're going to fight no matter what. Tell us in there, make it easy, and then we'll treat you kindly. >> You're going to be out in a couple hours. >> It's a drug charge or a retail charge. You're not staying with us very long. >> And you get out free of charge just with a court date. >> Is it open? >> It's open. chest to >> pull the hood. >> No, I was there's a ton of [ __ ] in there and then I want to be able to get all that >> for >> maybe three crack pipes. But the other people they left >> other people have crack pipes. Okay. >> How many more rocks are in there? >> No rocks, sir. >> No. How many bags? >> Nothing. It's >> There's some liquor in there. And uh >> it open >> the pipes. >> The liquor open? >> No. >> No. Where'd that come from? I know you didn't pay for it. So, where'd it come from? >> CVS. Which >> one? >> From Target to TJ Maxx and even CVS, those were the stores the officers linked to the items they found. Although she still tried to hide the truth, the officers had already figured everything out, including which store she had visited. >> You don't know. >> You're probably not going to get charged with this stuff. I would rather just get it back to where it came from. I don't I can't guarantee that. But which CVS? >> Harlem. What? Harlem's a big ass street. >> Maybe 111. >> That's 111th. And Harlem is rich is border. >> No, I think 11th. Harlem's worth. >> It is. It is worth it. >> There's a firehouse. That's it. It was like CVS >> 111. >> Is it Harlem or Richland? I don't >> CVS 11, right? >> Nothing. Is it our TJ Maxx 11 TJ Maxx >> by Marianos? >> That's the one. Oh, okay. >> That's right. Remember I was that little >> I don't know. >> My HomeGoods. >> I don't remember. Yeah. >> The TJ Maxx. We're talking about the TJ Maxx, not the CVS anymore. >> Yes. >> So TJ Maxx that you went to and you took those items are on 111 Cicero >> by Marianos and HomeGoods and the Cooper Hawk and all that stuff over there. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> How long ago do you have? >> Uh maybe about an hour ago. >> Today? >> Yesterday. Yesterday. >> Today. >> Yesterday. >> Yesterday. >> Oh, yesterday. Gotcha. >> Yeah. >> Last name. And >> the woman was charged with retail theft and possession of cocaine with the investigation also linking her to suspected thefts from TJ Maxx and CVS. One theft can quickly turn into multiple charges when additional stolen merchandise or illegal substances are discovered. Hiding evidence only gives officers more reasons to investigate further. Next, this 19-year-old pregnant woman was surprisingly cheerful after being arrested. >> Cuz I'm pregnant. I just found out I was pregnant today and I was [ __ ] I haven't even been stealing. Is >> that your first time? >> No, it is first time. >> I'm sorry, guys. I'm literally just kidding. >> On the 22nd of September 2025, police were dispatched to Kohl's after receiving a report of a theft that had just occurred. Three people were believed to have been involved and had just left the store. But the real surprise came from the third woman. First, here was what happened when officers arrived at the scene. >> Excuse me. Where they at? >> The retail. >> I don't know. That's why. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Hello. >> Who's racist? Me. >> Oh, not you. You just walk on. What you mean? >> Exactly. I just showed up. Are you guys waiting for >> Yeah, I'm just waiting for a picture. >> Okay, just hang out here. >> How can I help you guys? Okay. Hello. >> What you mean, >> Ashley? >> Feel like I've met you before, have I? >> You might cuz of my ex. Aiden to Philly. >> Oh god. >> He's my ex for a reason. >> You got bad taste. He's He's the reason he's in King County cuz he tried to kill. >> I'm sorry. >> And I'm sorry this is happening, but >> here we are. >> Are you okay? I see you shaking and stuff. You all right? >> Cuz I'm pregnant. I just found out I was pregnant today and I was [ __ ] I haven't even >> I'm just asking cuz I see you shaking. Okay. So, >> if at any point during this >> you need medical attention for whatever reason, just let us know. Okay. So, even the police seemed to recognize this woman, but when they asked about it, she tried to change the subject while in reality, loss prevention had quickly recognized her from a previous theft. >> We're going to go back to the PD. What's going to happen when you get that product out? You're going to go back to Police Department. >> Okay. How many time have you gotten a conviction for retail theft already? >> Uh, yeah. >> From where? >> Um, Walmart and Crystal Lake. >> Okay. >> And it was a $50 thing. Um, I stole it was literally a ankle bracelet cuz I got run over and I stole two vitamins things. >> Yeah. After he's done with this, we take you back to the PD. We get you processed. >> Okay. Are you still living out of Mckenry? >> Um, no. I'm kind of homeless at the moment. >> Okay. Do you have a car here? >> No. >> No. You're just here with the friends. >> Okay. >> So, want to show you? Um, she's got more stuff than just these two items. She says she claims she was not behind, but I've never left my eyes on her off camera. >> But did you check the show? >> Hold on. Hey, hey, hey. Behind you. >> And this is her. >> I I know you got a lot of stuff going on right now, okay? And I can sympathize with that, but right now there's nothing else to do right now. We're not going to argue with them. Do me a favor. Just don't argue with us about anything. We're going to try and get this done as quickly and as simply as possible, and then we see where we go from here, right? But if you start bickering and arguing with everybody and whatnot, I'm not saying you're going to, but I want to prevent that from happening. Does that make sense? Okay. >> Earlier, the woman had claimed that she was pregnant, but it turned out that there was no medical confirmation behind it. She was only guessing. Was she simply using it as an excuse to gain sympathy? >> And she's like, I have a feeling you're pregnant. And I was like, and I'm 30 days late on my period. I was like, >> sometimes parents just know. And you'll learn that at some point, >> which I don't know. just keeping right close to my life. >> Well, today hopefully is the day that you start changing things, right? >> Like fixing things for your life cuz you got a reason to now, right? >> Yeah. >> I'm not saying you're a terrible person or anything. None of us are thinking that. It's just a matter of now. We've already gone so far. Now, it's just we have to do the steps that follow. Okay. >> I'm going to take the items out. >> You want me to step out? You want us to turn around? What do you want us to do? Oh, here. >> We got a female officer here. Okay. just hang out right here for a second. She's got product. >> They be like all extra fancy and I'll be like >> broke my promise. >> Huh? >> I broke my promise. >> Fine. There's another retail theft. >> There was one earlier today. You guys were here, right? >> Yeah, but [music] no. Q just called out another one. >> While waiting to confirm the value of the merchandise for the charge, the officers answered all the questions from the two people outside. >> We don't know. Yeah, >> we don't know because say it all depends on like what comes back from her record. Um, normally if it was just simple that she just stole from here and this the first time then yeah, she get processed and then released. >> I don't know if she does or doesn't. So, >> then I'm assuming maybe she gets released, maybe she doesn't. I I don't know. >> Okay. >> It depends on a few things. So, for right now, I would give you an answer. >> I got these now cuz he's had a way to get these. I just go outside real fast and have my vape >> for right now. Do me a favor. Just hang out here. Okay. It's I don't know if they're going to have to any questions for you guys or if they want you guys to just hang out. Um >> well, he told us that we could >> I don't I don't know. I'll check with them in a minute. But uh is are you guys if she does get released today, would you guys be the ones to pick her up? >> Pick her up. She >> Okay. She has her phone with her. >> Uh no, that's why we were >> Where is the phone? You have it right now? Yeah. >> Okay. Why don't you give me that? Does she have anything else with you guys that she's going to need? Wallet or anything like that? Just the phone. All right. You guys are good to go. Wait till we find out what happens with her. >> We won't know until we get back to the PD. So, you guys can go to the PD and hang out there until we're done. But I am going to I am going to grab the purse from your car though. >> Okay, got >> the woman's face showed no sign of guilt at all. As if she was already used to doing wrong. She even joked around afterward. >> She said, "I don't know if I'm happy to hear you know that or not. >> My parents are both are felons for like that. So, >> I'm going to advise you to make smart decisions. You're fairly young, right? So, you know, >> actually, I've been on a pretty good track until just now. Swear I've been trying. I got a new man. I'm taking up for a car. I'm getting >> You got a baby on the way. >> Oh my god. Not trying to play right now. >> I have my first OB appointment in two weeks. >> You're what? >> My first OB. >> Oh, >> is mom going to go with you? No, my boyfriend is >> Is it his kid >> or Aiden's? >> Okay, >> I guess we'll find out >> just because even if it is Aiden's Even if it is Aiden's. Let's make some smart choices and still not go back to him. >> You do you make your own decisions, but you make your own decisions. >> How do you know Aiden? Like every cop I talk to you know. >> Yeah. And for terrible reasons. >> Yeah. So I actually the reason why he just got 72 counter charges was um he like me he was threatening to other stuff. So I safety I reported it. He threw me out of the car unconscious after I just crashed with my friend. >> At this point after confirming everything that had happened the officers made their decision. Although the woman accepted it, she still showed no sign of shame. hand. >> You know the drill. It's not your first time. >> No, it is. First time's a charm. >> Just kidding. I'm sorry, guys. I'm literally just kidding. >> Sorry. >> I'm not going nowhere. >> It's just the way we have to do. >> All right, I'll I'll search you out there. Okay. >> Make sure you have >> Yeah, >> I got it. >> All right. So, he's going to do a pat down of you. Not an actual search, but he's got he has to do a pat down you of >> my gloves on. >> I got it. I got it. >> So, what happens? I just go to the police department and you guys put it on. >> So, it all depends on your record, what you have on there and everything. >> You said my pass I have one. >> I know. I know. It all depends on what the state's attorney wants to do with it and where we go from there. >> Wait, so am I staying? Where am I going now? So, you're going with us right now to Alan Police Department. Right. >> Right. >> So, like I explained to you, you're going to get processed. Okay. They're going to get you your charges and everything. Since you have prior, we don't know if it's going to be I know it's the misdemeanor charges. We don't know if because you have priors, they want to upgrade it to felony charges. I don't know. They have to talk to the state's attorney and see where they're going to go with it. Okay. >> Oh my god. >> I I I know it sucks. I know it's a lot of information for you to just process right now, but for right now, there is nothing else that we can do. It's just we still have to take you, we still got to process you, and then we'll see where we go. In the end, Ashley Meyer was charged with one count of retail theft for merchandise valued under $300. Excuses and a lack of remorse could not change the facts. When someone repeatedly chose to break the law, they eventually had to face the consequences of their own actions. Next, this woman even acted as though her theft was nothing serious. She filled her soup, pulled all the big bills, puts them in a single bag. >> That wasn't very slack. [clears throat] >> On the 22nd of January, 2023, police received a report of a theft involving $26,000 at Target. The suspect was allegedly one of the store's own employees. When officers arrived at the scene, the loss prevention team explained every detail of the incident to them. >> So, what is she supposed to be doing? >> So, what she's supposed to be doing is she processes the safe. She writes it all down on this little piece of paper and then she's supposed to go through each one of these bags individually and put all the money from the bag inside of this machine. She should have no money on her whatsoever. >> Okay. >> No money comes out of that that that office. >> Okay. What does she How have y'all caught her? What have y'all seen? Yeah. So, here we can go in my office and I can vote on that video. But essentially, we got an email from our investigation center um 2 days ago that this team member was flagging for um like shortages in our cash office process. >> Um you want to do that or you want to watch it? Your choice. Um, so we have obviously we have all the evidence and they ran out for you, but essentially while she's doing the cash office process, she is um filtering like she's pulling the high bills from those bags, >> putting them and keeping them in a bag, rolling that bag up, concealing it into a cardboard box, and then when she's done with the cash office process, bring that box to the restroom, emptying it on her person somewhere, and then throwing that empty box away. So yesterday we did a full review of everything. Um and we even like pulled the trash bagged and tagged up there. Um so we can confirm that she left with cash and we needed it in the bathroom. Um she's been doing this. We only have video retention for 30 days. So in the last two >> the $26,000 in losses over just 30 days was hard to believe, but it was all carried out by just one person. Target employees had even recovered the surveillance footage as evidence. >> Um I told back you vacation. >> Yeah, we moved all of his cameras and they come back and his office is just >> I love you cuz we did all the time >> cuz I ended up calling you guys cuz I lived with JBP before and under their jurisdiction all employee theft they have to get a warrant before they can even talk to somebody. So, I have to make sure you guys could actually come out here. >> Oh, yeah. If you got proof, we can >> I was like, I don't know what your jurisdiction does. >> Oh, yeah. >> So, she filters through, pulls all the big bills, puts them in a single bag. >> That wasn't very slow. Not at all. >> Big bills. >> Oh, no. >> There. >> Are you guys checking out today's? But we had yesterday's >> where do those bags come from? >> These are all from different registers. So this >> Okay. So those are those are pulls from different >> Yes. Everything is labeled according to the register. So today's actually Yeah. She decides there's there >> but she'll go through each bag and filter it. So then she transfers it into this bag which is registered at 82. >> Okay. >> Pulling it into there. >> And then put it inside this cardboard box right there. And then she'll leave the cash off when I go to the bathroom. >> There we go. >> That's the bag. >> Yep. So when she puts the bag right there, that's when she This is where you're going to watch it. Right here in that box. >> Yeah. So there's >> a box on there. >> So the penny box is where she's going to stuff it. But now we're going to you're going to see I got this. >> They then explained how Target planned to obtain the woman's confession. >> She goes in the bathroom. >> Puts one in her purse. She goes out for a smoke prank. >> She goes out to her car. >> Okay. This is where she jumps right. Yeah, >> it's either in her car or she holds on to it for the day. But we can't. >> So if she walks out right now, she's going to have a box. >> So yes, what we're going to do in the box right now is what I'm saying. >> So she's going to the cash. >> We're going to let her go in the bathroom and we're going to let her throw it away. As soon as she throws it away, Target's going to pull her to do our interview. >> It's a whole process. Depends on how comp there. It's >> consensual. Um, so my goal, I'm going to be interviewing her. My goal is to get her to admit to it. She might, she might not. >> Um, have a whole certification on how to get her to talk to it. So, we'll see. Um, >> her ways. >> Yeah, you guys have your ways. I have >> There's the bathroom. Um, so I'm going to get a attempt to get her to admit to the theft. Um, she might get it, she might not. And then at the end of my conversation with her, we will terminate her employment. And then at that point, we'll turn it over to you. Um, you guys are welcome to hang out in the office. I don't know if that's going to be a 5-minute conversation or an hour conversation. Really depends on how long how much she wants to talk. While waiting for the suspect to go to the restroom, the officers spoke with the store manager, who revealed that she did not seem to be well-liked by her co-workers either. >> Crazy. >> Are you serious? >> She's literally I've never I'm like a pretty good person. >> I hate her with every she quit today. She's like my assistant. >> She hates me. >> I'm a pretty solid person. >> All right. love everyone. She's just like >> whenever I have to like coach other performance manager. >> Yeah. >> She immediately yells like yells like can sit down please and like tries to bolt it on my mouth. This is Evan mouth at somebody. >> Like what is that going to do? >> Why? >> Just piss somebody off. Make me mad. >> Yeah. >> My backyard. >> That's what you know like how much she's probably >> cuz she's worked here 10 years. >> That's >> and she's she's like the HR admin. She works in HR. She's part of >> she's playing a guard like assistant. >> After that, they approached the woman in the interview room and immediately handcuffed her. But what was even more surprising was her attitude. As if her crime was nothing serious. >> Can you stand up for me? >> Don't turn off the amate. >> No. Turn around. >> Turn around, please. >> Turn off, please. I can't believe this is happening. >> Let me know. Okay. >> Is that too tight? >> I don't know. >> Give me one sec. >> Got the watch on. Whatever. >> Please don't do this. >> All right. Turn around for me. You got anything that's going to stick me? >> No. Turn around for me. >> Turn around, please. >> Turn around for me, please. >> I can't believe this is happening. >> Being detained. In the end, the woman was arrested and charged with secondderee felony grand theft for stealing approximately $26,000 from Target over a 30-day period. The lesson from this case is that abusing a position of trust can quickly turn a workplace theft into a serious felony. No matter how long someone gets away with stealing, surveillance and careful evidence collection can eventually expose the scheme. Next, this woman thought she was entitled enough to simply deny the theft. But can you stop doing so tight? You're embarrassing me. And you're doing extremely tightly. If >> you think it's funny and you're going to kick out of me, I work my ass off. I'm >> good. So, >> on the 26th of May, 2023, officers received a call from Walmart about a woman suspected of skip scanning at the store. They had no idea that this woman would leave them with an unforgettable encounter. Here's what happened when they arrived at the scene. >> Step out that she passed the point of sale. No, we can have her for a stop. Unless I can get her with theft now with her skip scanning. >> If if if she's skip scanning and she's putting stuff in the buggy. I mean, it's kind of articulatable if she's >> Oh, yeah. Good then. That's all. >> She's putting it in place. >> Yeah, she's putting it in the back, but she's not skiping everything. Just some stuff. >> So, I'll do is I mean, at this point, that's that means >> my criteria is like concealing or storing away. >> Okay. So, we all right, we can get One of my friends right there. >> The officers approached the woman while she was still carrying out the suspected skip scanning, catching her off guard with their sudden arrival. >> Hey, ma'am. My name's Dr. Police Department. I need you to go ahead and put your hands behind your back here. Okay. >> Why am I under arrest? >> It's up to you. Go ahead and put your hand behind your back. No, you need to tell me why I'm going. >> Don't resist. >> Stop and shoot me. >> Hey, if you resist >> loosen your hands up. What am I doing? Wow, I've been checking out that cuz that's what I was saying as much and see if you >> No, I'm really checking out >> this whole time buying stuff. I have money. Is that the issue? >> I know she has money. >> Do you want me to show you my debit? Where's that? Oh, let's do this. >> Where did they get that damn phone at? >> Is this their buggy as well? >> Is yours? >> Yeah, I went and got another buggy to put the stuff in. >> We're go ahead and we're going to walk to the office over here and >> Okay, but can you stop doing so tight? You're embarrassing me for yourself. You're doing extremely tight. You're under my authority. >> Okay, but I'm going to give you the most highest respect just like you're giving me. But second, >> some respect and we're going to walk you off. Okay, this isn't enough for a debate. We're going to walk through. >> It's okay. Wait, I didn't steal. Not and I leave the store and nothing stepping out. Though >> she was embarrassed, worried that everyone would look at her like a criminal even though she had actually been stealing. But her composure did not last long as she soon became the one who escalated the situation. >> Let go. Stop doing it. Excuse me. >> I promise you about to go to the ground. >> No. You're about to get in trouble and lose your thing. I know my rights. You're detaining me and it hurts me >> and there's no reason to you for you to be that aggressive. I'm sorry if you have problems at home, but I ain't getting >> then I think this is I'm sorry. >> I don't know. This is all a part of what she was gaming prop. >> Yeah, you'll see a lot of crazy, >> huh? And I'm getting arrested when I have $600 in my account. That's what blows my mind. >> Yeah, that really bothers me that they that had to go down like that. You guys could at least wait until you thought I was at the door or something. I hope I'm not Oh my god, I hope my phone's not over there. Yeah, I did pray that. >> Inside the loss prevention office, the woman became even more uncooperative. >> No, but you don't need my ID until you're telling me why I'm being detained. >> I told you you're being detained for what? >> Pending investigation in the shop. You're not giving me your name? >> No, I refuse. >> So, you're going to catch a resisting charge on top? >> You are resisting my rights. This is my right. And I hope you practice practice and I will be making a big ordeal about this. Let me go, please. >> At this point, you are under arrest. >> How? >> Shoplifting. >> I never shoplift. >> We're not going to talk about it now. >> No. Yes. Prove to me how I shoplift >> on video. You're shoplifting. >> Where does it show? I shoplift. >> You skip scan. Come on. >> How did I skip scan? Show me. You cannot arrest me. I refuse. You need to call YOUR BOSS. CALL YOUR YES. Call your supervisor. >> Boss of the car. You're going to call your supervisor. How are YOU GOING TO TELL ME YOU CAN'T ARREST ME WHEN I DIDN'T DO NOTHING? >> What seemed like the breaking point was not the end of it. She continued to escalate the situation when officers placed her under arrest, even becoming physically resistant. >> You just watched the whole video. Let's go. You guys are hurting me. >> It's okay. If you would stop doing too much, YOU WOULDN'T BE HURTING. >> You're wrong. I didn't even steal your circuit. >> I just told you I didn't check nothing. You couldn't find one item that I stole and you're still hurting me. Who does that? >> Oh my god. I swear that's my cigarettes. >> Why are you in my pockets? No, you have no right to search me. No probable CAUSE. YOU HAVE TO BE SEARCHED. >> YOU ARE BEING SEARCHED. >> NO, I'M NOT GOING to jail because I didn't do anything. >> I don't know where you got the idea that this is on your terms, BUT IT IS NOT. >> IT'S ON MY TERMS cuz you're you're misusing your rights. You're misusing your privileges when I didn't take nothing. >> It'd be different if I took something, but I didn't even finish getting checked out. I swear you started me so much trouble for doing this. is not okay how you guys just treated somebody like that. You guys are looking You're looking for a reason to put me in jail. That's it. That's horrible. That is so horrible. My wallet. Am I lying? My liner and my makeup. My phone was at the register. I need my phone, too. >> For me, can you please go get my phone? >> Huh? The blue one? >> Yeah, I think it's an office. >> Oh my. Cuz I shouldn't be going to jail. I didn't make nothing. >> You guys [ __ ] up for this. >> If you think it's funny and you're going to kick out of me, I work my ass off for my money. >> So, >> so what am I being arrested for? >> Even inside the patrol car, she continued to let her arrogance take over, shouting and venting her anger uncontrollably. >> Like, we have like legit legit. >> Okay. >> I will call corporate. I promise. I hate him so much. I hate the cops. I didn't even get to finish. Check it out for them to call me stealing. I'm not going to let this get away. You're not getting away with this on my son's life. You will not get away with this. I will do whatever it takes to make sure each and every one of you guys will pay for this. You think I don't know the people that run Tallahassee enjoying its three four weeks without pay. I >> think it is crystal. >> Yeah, it's crystal. >> There's children that are missing and dying every day and here you are at Walmart trying to catch me shoplifting when I'm not shoplifting. Now you're saying I got drugs on me. What the is wrong with you? I swear I'm going to law. Oh boy. You're saying I have drugs on me? Where the did I get drugs from? That's not why you guys are arresting me. So now all of a sudden I have drugs on me cuz you guys can't find a reason to arrest me. Oh boy. I wonder how this is going to hold up in court. It's okay. >> In the end, the woman was arrested for shoplifting and resisting arrest. This incident shows how denying wrongdoing and resisting officers can quickly turn a shoplifting case into a much more serious situation. Instead of cooperating, her continued hostility and resistance only made the consequences worse. >> You passed the last point of purchase. >> It wasn't the last point. We was at the first. >> We know the back. >> All right. >> I'm scared, driver. Don't want you flying somewhere. [laughter] On the 4th of February 2025, officers responded to a report of a shoplifting incident at Walmart involving two women suspected of stealing merchandise. [music] When they arrived, both women were escorted to the loss prevention office. But instead of addressing the allegations, they quietly scrolled through their phones as if they had nothing to worry about. >> Do you have any receipts or anything or no? Do you have any receipts? >> You pull them up. Hold on. Let me get my wallet up out of here. We'll get it. We'll get it. >> Okay. Oh, you can have my truck. I received messages because I've been working for these two for the longest. Go >> ahead. Okay. >> We'll just help search and then you guys do your thing. >> Okay. >> Where's He's supposed to be in here, too. So, I can fill up all these receipts. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. That's He's not here today. >> Oh, bro. He just called me. I know your head. Yes, he did. >> Okay. Well, you got money. >> I got the receipts. You came in here, too. You already know. >> All right. Well, at this point, there you guys are going to be detained for suspicion on >> retailation. Yep. >> Okay. We never walked out the door, so we know the rules. >> Well, you passed the last point of purchase. >> It wasn't the last point. We was at the first point. We know. >> Okay. Well, I'm not going to argue with you right now. I'm just going to read you the guys rights. >> I'm not going to argue. >> No, we're not arguing with you. >> You have the right to remain silent. What was on her phone that seemed to matter more than the allegations against her? Moments later, she offered [music] the answer herself. >> This interview anytime. Do you understand? >> No. But can I say something? >> Yes. >> I wasn't working all the text messages. They let me come in here. >> Yeah. Huh? Look, I got the proof, baby. Look. Do you understand what I'm saying? >> No, I understand what you're saying, but I'm just letting you know I was able to come in here freely. >> Soal business walk out of here, too. I've been working for I've been coming here for years. Yes, sir. Right now, baby, I got to look. No, I have nothing on you. Just have a secret. >> But push the messages. That's all they told me here to get. >> So, if we look at the cameras, we're not going to see you guys stuffing your jackets with any merchandise. >> No, I have no jacket. Is that not even our jacket? >> That's not our jacket. I don't know who jacket that is. They're just >> Oh, that's it. Go through all of them. And when they say item, are you related? >> Yes, I am. You are. Her name is Got a list for her, too. I have nothing. I've been working on >> and he just called me three times. >> You hear me? >> And it's because it say boss lady. Of course, >> she's boss lady. That's >> right. >> And then if you go to my can tell you I've been working for them for 2 years. Okay. So >> 2 years. Yeah. Of course he would. >> Exactly. So he must just got off work cuz he just thought >> the woman in the white hoodie remained remarkably calm, convinced she had found the perfect excuse to defend herself. Meanwhile, the loss prevention team insisted the evidence told a completely different story. Are >> you sure that >> they never even >> Hey, they still have more stuff. Check out. >> They never scan any of this. >> What did they pay for? >> What's up? >> What did they pay for? >> You didn't pay for >> Okay. I work here. >> Work here. Work here. >> You can't take nothing on my phone, baby. I bet that phone bear. >> It's fine. >> It's a big ghost with a sign. >> Oh, I got it. Oh, okay. I got it. >> So, it looks like they were in Davenport, too. >> Mhm. And they got a hit there in Davenport for them. >> Davenport. I have nothing. >> Almost. Which person? >> My name is Kishha. >> Kisha. Almost. How much? What's your last name? >> My last name is Craig. I have nothing. Craig. >> Yes. Sounds good. >> You guys have a name? >> No. No, I don't. I don't. >> But that's my name though. >> My name is Take it down. >> In fact, the two suspects claimed they had been helped by Walmart employees to steal the merchandise. Officers then separated the women for questioning and one of them tried to shift all the blame onto those employees. [music] >> What are you guys doing here? >> Um them like I was trying to explain why she was talking. I have nothing to lie about. They already know what's going on and everything. The crazy thing about it is >> they called us. We wouldn't have ever been in here. Her name is but her name in my phone is boss lady. If you scroll through my phone, all that cat food and sorry I'm not racist, but they call people food. So it's like salami beef. That's all her food. I don't know why she playing dumb as the little the lady that just took the cards. >> Yeah, >> I know her too. She's in my phone as well. Identify me as a cousin. Remember I said that's my cousin. >> He's he's His name is Big C. He just went to my home. He just called me three times. I have no reason to lie. I wouldn't have never been in here. And S called me to come in here. I They've been calling us and telling us to do this for the longest. So like I told them, if I'm going down, y'all going down, too. Cuz I would never come in here without your permission. She right there. She moves people around for us. I just want No. No. I'm not aggressive. I'm not aggressive. [laughter] I'm not saying. So you're saying that you guys call from here with the stuff that we got and that whole stuff that we got. Yes, sir. And I had no reason to lie or I would have never been. To continue verifying the story, officers interviewed the other woman separately [music] and asked her the same series of questions. >> You're emerald, right? >> Yeah. >> Like, >> yes. Okay. >> So, what are you guys doing here? >> Um, we got a call and said that we were able >> He said that we were able to come in here. He needed a few things. Well, they needed a few things. Me, few things. Then we can also come in here and get some things for ourel. >> Okay. >> So that's why we're here. >> Are you supposed to pay for that stuff? >> I mean they just we're going to wave the door so we can go through and do what we need to do. >> Okay. Just leave. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Without paying for stuff. >> I mean some stuff we pay for some stuff they just let us go through there. >> Okay. Does this happen? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> You feed the messages. >> How how >> you went through the phone, right? >> Yep. I saw the phone. >> Okay. >> Okay. Last time was >> We got the phone today. We just got a phone bill. >> Yep. No, I'm saying before this time. When was the last time I had that? >> December. >> December. >> Okay. So, would you say it's like once a month or a couple times? >> Both women gave the same story, though it was unclear whether they had coordinated their accounts beforehand. In [music] the end, their claims were unsupported by any credible evidence, and officers made their decision accordingly. >> Yep. >> At this point, you're going to be under arrest. >> Everybody back real quick. I'm flip back. Oh, sorry about that. No, I just realiz did they tell you you were no trespassing? >> No, they said from Elmore and this is Rock Island. >> Nothing to do with saying that >> Elmore. We cannot go and it was 24 hours this year. >> I'm sorry. I can't see. Sorry. >> No, you're not. No, I already was so bad. >> Hold on a minute. >> No, I did not. >> Sorry. I'm sorry. I'm trying to see what I wear glasses, so I can't see the picture. >> No. No. No. Restriction. He just told us. Um, >> we cannot go back. Basically, >> you want basically the second door that we went out of, that was the door they stopped us out. And what she said was, I don't know the lady name, but what she said was, "Everything in our hand, hand it to her. We're not being detained. If we give everything back, they called the police. We waited for the police. We gave everything back. They let us go. They told us that we was barred from airmore and that we cannot return to >> Kimberly." They said, [clears throat] >> they gave us paperwork. They said nothing about her. >> So why did they put you in for $1,500? Huh? >> No, we had we had purses. That was it. Something was It was the money purses. She mad at her. That was it. >> Hold on. Hold on. Let's go back. >> All right. >> I'm a scared driver. I don't want you flying somewhere. [laughter] >> In the end, both Lakesha and Emerald were charged with felony retail theft. [music] A story is only as strong as the evidence behind it. Blaming others or repeating the same excuse won't outweigh surveillance footage, witness [music] statements, and the facts. When the evidence tells a different story, the truth always catches up. >> Exactly. Like serious. Well, you have a cast on your arm. >> Exactly. And I got scraped up knees, too. >> Oh, we got white powder, everybody. >> All right, we'll keep it away from your face. >> On the 25th of March, 2024, officers approached a woman in the Walmart parking lot in connection with a theft that had occurred at the store. Surprisingly, she quickly admitted that she was the suspect, but she did so with a completely cheerful attitude. >> Good. >> Awesome. >> So, what's up? >> Okay. Is this your car over here? >> No. >> All right. All right. Would you come over here with me? >> Where? >> Over in this way. >> For what? >> So, we're doing an investigation right now. Apparently, somebody walked out with a >> car put in a random car. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, that was me. >> Okay. Would you come over by the car with us? >> Whose car is it? >> What do you mean? >> Whose car is it? >> I don't know. >> Me neither. >> Okay. All right. So, where's all your stuff you took out of the store? And >> I just put I put it in a random car that was open. >> In a random car that was open for what? >> What do you mean for what? Because y'all come y'all was coming. >> Okay. So, you just put all the stuff in a random car you didn't know? >> Yeah, it's a game I was playing. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> What for? >> Um, just for the hell of it. >> Okay. You got any ID on you? >> No. >> I left it in the car. >> Which car? >> The random car? I don't know what car it was. >> What color was it? >> Um, silver. >> Silver. >> Right. Something like that. >> So, you left your ID in some random car? >> Yeah. My whole bag. Oh my. >> All right. Makes sense. >> What kind of bag do you have? >> Um, what kind of I think it's a Michael car. Can you please not stand behind me cuz you're making me nervous. I was here the whole time. >> You were? >> Yeah. He's in the car. >> Well, I'll be damned. >> What was your question? >> What kind of purse did you have? >> It's a Michael Kors purse. Can you go get it for me? >> What kind of vehicle were you driving? >> It's like gray or silver or something. >> What kind of make model? >> Um, I don't know. >> The woman seemed to have turned the situation into a game designed to make things [music] difficult for the officers. She showed no sense of guilt and even went on to explain how the game was played. >> Because y'all were coming and I just ran up to the car and put it's a game that we play. It's called 21. It's basically you go and steal all the [ __ ] that you can steal and then you get out without getting caught. Well, I did it one other time than this time, but I got caught this time. So now I got to figure out where my purse is and where my merchandise is because now I got to give all the merchandise back to Walmart. >> Well, it's not really a game. >> It is a gameft >> to you. That's theft of the state of Florida. >> It's fun, too. It's really fun. >> Oh, going to jail is fun. Okay. >> Well, I suppose. Am I going to jail? >> Well, we'll see how much stuff you took. >> It's a lot of >> So, where's where's the car at? >> I don't know. Okay. >> What's your name? >> It's >> Okay. >> And I don't find it funny. I'm just very bubbly. >> Okay. Did you Is the car yours or are you renting it? >> I don't know whose car it was. >> It's just a random person. >> It's just a random car. Yeah. Like if you walk up to this car, you feel me? It's cuz I know it's going to be closed. You never know. You just got to try it out. >> Clearly, she had no intention of cooperating with the officers or helping them locate the missing merchandise. At that point, the officers decided to handcuff her. And strangely enough, she seemed almost happy that it was happening. >> Put your hands behind your back for me. >> Sure. You want that? >> What's wrong? >> Broken. >> My pinky is. I'll be careful. >> Oh, wait a second. >> All right. We'll get that. We'll get that. >> We'll get Stop. >> You have leg checkers. >> Uh, I have a hobble. >> Hey, I have a hobble. >> You do? >> I actually have flex. >> I was just trying to grab my phone. >> You have We can do flex. >> Yeah. >> Y'all going to put me in shackles? Are you serious? Well, you have a cast on your arm. >> Exactly. And I got scraped up knees, too. >> No one said they're going on your feet. >> So, what are y'all putting shackles on me for? >> You got a cast on your arm. >> Oh, >> it's too big for regular handcuffs. >> Oh, okay. >> Look at that. Flex cuffs. >> So, just going to stick these back here. >> All right. Is not too tight for you? >> All right. Let's get anything on you. Just >> that was >> No, I don't have anything on me. >> Okay. So, you're not under arrest right now. You're just being secured so we can conduct our investigation. >> Okay. Do you have anything else on you um >> like on you, in you, anything like that? >> Do you have anything that say you do go to jail that if you go into the jail and they find it on you later, is there anything like that? >> No. A tampon that needs to be changed. You just asked me that question. Well, you keep that. I'm going to ask the same question. >> My boyfriend's car, but my boyfriend doesn't know that I steal >> and he doesn't know that I put all this in the car neither. >> Okay. >> So, I'm going be really in trouble with him. >> But that's that's the thing. >> So, what kind of car is it? >> I don't remember cuz it's a rental. We just got the rental car. What color? >> Oh, you said it was someone random. >> Yeah, I know. I lied to you. >> Her her boyfriend rented the car. Without realizing it, she admitted details that pointed officers toward the vehicle containing the stolen merchandise. Taking advantage of her attitude, the officers continued questioning her to gather more information. >> Dollar value. You stole from >> probably a lot cuz I took a lot of. >> Okay. >> So, basically, you got to put everything in the cart and ring it up and find out the value of it. And then what's the next move? >> And then I then depending on the dollar amount is if you go to jail or not. Well, I'm pretty I'm pretty sure I'm going to go to jail because it's a lot of >> Okay. >> So, what's what happens after that? >> Well, if you're over that dollar amount for felony, >> then you will go to jail for felony amount of shoplifting. >> All right. You'll be booked in a Flaggler County inmate facility. >> Okay. >> And then whatever you do from there, bond out, whatever, it's up to you. >> All right. Can I please call my boyfriend? >> Not right now. >> Okay. Can I talk to the other officer? >> The Deputy Sanford? >> Sure. She wants to call her boyfriend and I said no. >> Can I ask why? >> Because right now we're conducting an active investigation. >> What is the investigation I just told you? >> I still have to confirm everything. >> He doesn't know that I stole it. >> Okay. >> So, he's going to get the car. I'm like, "What the is this?" >> Well, we we're we're with the car right now. There's >> Y'all are? >> Yeah. >> What car is it? >> It's a rental. I don't remember what car it was. >> Okay. Well, we know what we know. >> All right. But yeah, can you turn the AC on? >> I I will. I rolled the window down for you. >> All right, bet. >> Just with all this plastic, it's hard sometimes to get air back in. >> If you're wondering whether this woman's mental state was normal, she soon claimed that she had mental health issues herself. But should her claims really be taken at face value? >> I have psychological problems. Like I have mental issues like bipolar, anxiety, depression, all that and schizophrenia. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So, do you have a [ __ ] attitude in me or YOU GOOD? CUZ YOU ASKED ME QUESTIONS BUT IT LOOKS LIKE YOU got a attitude. Are you good? >> Am I yelling at you? >> BUT YOU GOT AING ATTITUDE WITH YOUR LITTLE PISSY ASS. Blink blink. >> I'm not yelling at you. >> Okay, but you got an attitude. >> This is just how I am. >> Well, then change it cuz you meet people like me off duty. >> Okay. Is that >> Okay. No, it's not. BUT I'M JUST LETTING YOU KNOW HOW THE REAL WORLD WORKS. >> IT'S NOT. >> OKAY. CUZ YOU'RE A HARD ASS WITH THAT. BUT YOU NOT WITHOUT IT. YES. >> What's in the bag, sir? >> Clo the [ __ ] DOOR LIKE THAT AGAIN. YOU STUPID. You are noting hard and that's not youring purpose to be an officer. That's all a lot of >> clearly few people with genuine mental health conditions would openly admit to having them. And the truth about her condition soon became clearer when officers located the vehicle and began searching it. >> Oh, we got crystals. >> We got white crystals, gobblego pipe, and a safe >> dude. That's white. This has white crystal in it. >> Like small small amount, but there's white crystal in it. >> We're going to go with this >> meth. >> And another one. >> Well, don't break it. I'm going to put this on the car. >> Maybe it's not schizophrenic. You're smoking. >> Oh, >> patches. >> What is that? >> Yeah. Uh, Subasi. >> It's her name. >> What's the date on? >> Oh, so that's hers. I mean, we got weed in the front. We got probably meth in the back. >> This is good, though. She's >> She's got her name on here. So, I mean, whatever's in the back, I would attribute to her as well. >> But it didn't stop there. Officers also found a hidden safe inside the vehicle, and everything inside suggested that the woman could be involved in selling illegal substances rather than simply using them. >> There's nothing in there. I'm muted. I'm muted. So, we're good. >> So, >> all right. Signal zero right out. >> And there's a baggie underneath there. >> What is this? >> Is that a lightsaber? That's a That's a >> Oh, >> I'm rolling. >> That's nice. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> All right. Fun box. >> Oh, we got white powder, everybody. >> All right. We'll keep it away from your face. >> What do you mean? >> So, you want to >> Don't inhale it. Trinoline. This is one of those boxes that Sergeant Weaver found behind the license plate one time. >> Yep. Uh >> kind of. >> Yep. Yeah. It's uh hide a key. >> If I was a bet woman villain. >> The woman was charged with retail theft, methamphetamine trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. >> [snorts] >> This case shows how quickly a seemingly simple theft investigation can escalate when officers uncover additional evidence. Cooperating with law enforcement and thinking carefully before making statements can prevent a situation from becoming even more serious. >> I made them trespass because they've been caught stealing. This is the second night she's came up here yelling at me. >> Mom, I hate you. You >> That's not very nice. I don't give a >> On the [music] 21st of May 2025, police received a call from a Circle K about a disturbance after two people refused to leave the property when their vehicle ran out of gas. Officers approached to explain the situation, but their attitude clearly showed they had no intention of cooperating. >> Hello, ma'am. >> Yes. >> Officer Lou with the city of M Police Department. Y >> we got a call over here at Circle K and they're advising that they need to close and you're refusing to leave. I think it's probably because you're out of gas, right? Right. >> Okay. Let me see if you're allowed to maybe leave the vehicle here right now. >> I have the gas can. >> Okay. Do you have vehicle? Do you have gas in there? >> I'm waiting for my mom to come. >> Okay. >> Hello. >> Listen, I don't know what you're trying to do, but >> I am sitting at Circle K with no gas. >> Well, it's not my fault. >> No one said it is. It's not my fault about anything in your life and how you need mental health. >> Okay. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. I'm going to send the um mental health coordinator over. I wish you would. >> Okay, ma'am. I'm not here to argue. I just want to make >> sure they're here so they can evaluate you also. >> Okay, listen. I need gas. You're going to help me or you're not. Told my friends figure it out. >> She says she's not going to help you. Okay. >> Nancy. >> Okay. >> And how much about me could you talk to my friend? >> I'll be right back. I'm going to ask him do they want this vehicle towed from their lot cuz it doesn't look like you got anything. >> I have a let me go ask. Okay. >> Mom, you don't have a daughter. After making sure the suspects had no intention of doing anything crazy, they returned to the store to hear what the store representative wanted. >> Hello, ma'am. Officer Louis Mount Police Department. I think you were here the other day when I was here. Okay. So, they're out of gas. She apparently she I don't think she's going to get any gas. >> No, my sister's in a store upgrade right now. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, do you want Are they allowed to wait for gas or >> No, I need them trespass because they've been caught stealing. Okay. >> This is the second night she's came up here yelling at me home her home. >> Okay. So, what about this? Their vehicle is stuck here. Do you want to call a tow truck? I don't I can't call one for you. It's on your property. >> But do you want to call a tow truck to have their vehicle towed somewhere? >> Okay. Yeah. I'll have the I'll call my boss >> cuz I can't tow truck. >> Their vehicle stuck. But you know what I mean? >> Yeah. >> It was a hard like I wasn't going to call but cuz she kept like still trying to yell at me and talk at me. I'm like this [ __ ] is just >> I'm aware we we've dealt with her numerous time. That was the first time I dealt with her, but the other officers dealt with her multiple times. >> So, I'll Do you want her just trespassed or the son as well? >> My boss. >> Both of them. Okay. Well, we'll we'll go ahead and trespass them. If they refuse to leave, would you like them arrested? Okay. >> According to the employee, it turned out these suspects were far from firsttime troublemakers. Police relayed the store's decision to them, but it seemed their ego simply would not allow them to accept it. >> Hello, ma'am. So, I understand that you don't have any gas. Okay. She's calling the tow truck, but for right now, she wants y'all trespass from this property. Okay, >> she's not trespassing. Listen, I already spoke to the manager. Him and I are like this. >> I understand that, but she wants you trespassed. Okay, >> I don't care if she's nobody. >> Why don't you call have her call the manager of the store? >> Is this vehicle research to you? >> No, it's just my mom. >> Oh, okay. >> But why don't you have her call, >> ma'am? Cuz I don't have to tell do what you're talking. >> Yeah. So, the gas can is here. I just need to get some gas, not to try and tell my car. >> The store manager was on the phone >> and I'm the assistant and we are both saying that you have to leave. >> Okay. >> Did you hear that, ma'am? >> All right. Fine. Yes. >> Okay. She's saying if you don't leave the property, we're going to arrest you. Do you understand that? >> Oh, I didn't do anything for you to arrest me. Can I speak to uh >> No, she doesn't want to speak. Okay. So, I'm going to ask you now. She is the man. She's right now. She's an authorized person. Okay. So, I'm going to ask you to leave the property. I understand this is your vehicle. >> Your car. It's your mom's car, right? >> No, it's in both. >> No, you said it's You said it's not under your name. >> I said it's in both names. >> No, you said it's your mom's. >> You know what? You need to start recording stuff. >> I'm recording. Ma'am, >> I said it's in both names. >> Ma'am, we're not going to argue with you. Okay, so now >> arguing, >> sir, that's you as well. Okay, so you got to leave the property. The tension escalated unnecessarily, and if you ever find yourself in a situation like this as a suspect, it is better to simply leave as instructed because any reckless action or words can quickly spiral everything into chaos, just like what happened next. Yeah. >> Where's my car, please? >> No, you're going to break my door. >> Step out. Hey. Hey, Matthew. Leave the property. Leave the property back. He is leaving. Leave the property. >> He's not He's not leaving. He's walking towards that sir. Leave the property. He's going to be arrested. LEAVE THE PROPERTY. MA'AM, BACK UP. BACK UP. >> DON'T YOU TOUCH MY son while you're back. You just threw that in my face. It hurt my goddamn. >> You are GOING TO TOUCH YOUR SON. >> OKAY. >> People who fight beat up wife. >> You mother. >> You mother. If you slam my son's head, you're dead. >> Mom, get my phone. >> Matthew, why would you do that? >> You're You're dead. >> Hey, man. >> I'm not leaving. All right. I'm going off the property. >> No, you're not. You're going to jail, too. >> No, I'm going off the property. >> You got some handcuffs. >> No, you're hurting me. >> Hey, you might have grabbed me some handcuffs and then >> Adam, I'm going off the property. >> I didn't do anything. >> Yes, you did. Drop your phone. >> I didn't do anything. >> You better stop resisting. >> Break my arm. >> You better stop resisting. I'm not trying to. I'm trying to >> Mom, I hate you. You >> That's not very nice. >> I don't give a Mom. And that's it. >> Yeah. Just ask her for her. You're done, Mom. >> I just >> Stop moving. >> I can't move. >> Stop. >> Stop moving. Stop. I need you to stop resisting. Okay. You need to stop resisting. >> I'm going to have a heart attack. >> Well, you better stop resisting, ma'am. I'm not trying to have you have a heart attack. >> Help me. >> Matthew. >> Matthew. >> Okay. >> Same for my 33. >> Yeah. >> Or 38. came. >> Black people are going to jail. >> After yelling at the police, causing disorder, and making racist remarks, she showed no sign of shame for her behavior. Instead, she immediately began trying to use a claimed disability to complicate the situation further. >> And my son's disabled, so if you touch him, you go to jail automatically. >> Okay? >> Black, yellow, white, it don't matter. >> And you broke my arm. >> Okay. I can't. >> You don't have ID with you, right? >> I just want to stand up. >> You have ID with you? >> No. He's putting pressure on my back. >> Well, we don't want you to lean up. That's the thing. >> I don't I can't breathe. I have heart issues. You dumb ass. >> Okay. Well, what do you want me to do? We have >> I want you to let me stop. You're standing up, but you have >> hurting me. We're not trying to I didn't get a chance to call. You're pulling up my dress. You're looking at my ass. >> You are throwing a lot of things at us right now. We're not trying to >> I didn't do my son dropped his phone cuz of you. Now, you can buy him a new phone. Okay. >> Yeah. >> What's your first name? >> Boogeyman. >> Are you refusing to identify yourself? >> Just leave me alone, man. >> It is going to change because I didn't do anything wrong. Neither did my son and he he's on SSI. He's disabled. You guys are going to be arrested for this black man. >> Huh? >> Actually correct. >> I know that it's correct. This guy looked at my ass. >> This guy looked at my ass. >> Okay. But remember >> I know I got a nice but >> actually incorrect >> and then whatever right >> they calling my car >> I'm doing it >> it's illegal >> shot your car >> they were ultimately charged with trespassing and resisting an officer what began as a simple request to leave a property escalated into criminal charges all of which could have been avoided through basic cooperation and compliance with the law. >> Making an example out of everybody >> so that people stop stealing from their store. >> Don't make me an example, please. I literally prepared myself yesterday. >> I literally did my hair and everything yesterday. >> On the 1st of January 2024, police were dispatched to a residential neighborhood after receiving reports that a suspect from an earlier Wawa theft had been spotted there. The suspect was believed to be the 18-year-old girl involved in a string of thefts committed with her group on different days. This was what happened when officers approached her. >> Hey, how's it going? Detective G, the sheriff's office. >> Yeah. >> What's your name? Gigi. >> GG. How old are you, Gigi? >> I'm 18. >> 18. Got a minute to talk? >> Yeah. >> Reason I'm here, I'm investigating some thefts that occurred out of the uh wall out on steroid 64. You got a boyfriend? >> Yeah. >> What's his name? All right. Who's that? >> That's me. But >> you and >> Yeah. >> Okay. Who's this guy? >> I don't know who that is. >> Come on. Yeah. >> Help me out. Help yourself. >> Deonte, maybe. >> Deonte who? >> I don't know his last name. >> Where does he stay? >> I don't know. >> You got a phone number for him? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. Who drives this car? The uh blue Impala. >> I I don't know. I've never seen a car before. >> You never seen that car before? You were there that night, >> but I have not seen that car. I don't know where that is. >> Okay. So, you and him were stealing stuff. So, I think that you probably know who it is. Is it Deonte? >> Yeah. >> Okay. What's his last name? >> I I don't know his last name. >> Why are you guys stealing beer and stuff from the gas station? >> I don't know. >> You don't know. >> Just being stupid. >> Hey, that's you, right? >> Yeah. >> That's also you, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Well, I appreciate you being honest with me. Is that you, too? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> The young woman indirectly admitted to the theft by acknowledging that she had been at the store. At that point, she also gave officers additional information about the other members involved. >> Who's Who's these guys in the back? This girl and this kid with no shirt. >> Um, that's she's rich. >> Yeah, >> I know who she is, too. >> Damn. You just know everybody. >> Yeah. You want to know why? Why? >> You want to know why? Cuz when that big party happened out there on Damn Road and all that [ __ ] got stolen and Johnny >> stole a gun from the house. Yeah. So, I investigated all that. So, now when I got these cases, >> what do I do about this? Like, I have to pay them back or something. >> What kind of history do you have? >> I don't have a history. >> You have no criminal history at all? >> Well, I got in like a fight, but that was it. So, who are these pe Who are these people in the >> What's their last name? >> I don't know. I [music] have no clue. >> So, who do you think this girl is? >> I don't I don't know. It's or I have no clue. I don't like that either. >> All right. [laughter] >> I'm trying to find a picture. >> No, I I don't know who that is. They still didn't seem to feel much remorse for what they had done, but their attitude quickly changed when police warned them about the consequences they could soon be facing. >> You guys need to stop stealing stuff, okay? It's going to lead you down a path >> that you don't want to go down. >> We talk about it a lot, actually. >> Now you're going to get in trouble. They're cracking down because it's a problem at that Waw Wa especially. >> Yeah. As well as 64. >> Yes. 64 in Lakewood Ranch. Um they want all you guys prosecuted. Um, so kind of is what it is. You're probably going to catch a theft charge. >> Are you for real? >> Yep. But it's a it's a petty theft. It's a misdemeanor. So, um, like you're not under arrest right now. Anything like that? >> I'm not going to get arrested. >> I I I honestly can't tell you whether you will or not. I got to look at your history and and see if you qualify for like a diversion program or something. If not, you're probably going to have a warrant for your arrest and then you'll Yeah, you'll have to go to jail and then get booked out or you you know processed and released. >> No, >> for a petty thing. >> I can't like pay them or nothing. >> Thanks. What do you want to do? >> Well, I I don't think they're interested in doing that cuz um like I said, it keeps happening. So, now they're trying to like make an example out of everybody >> so that people stop stealing from their store. >> Don't make me an example, please. I'll never do it again. >> Okay. Well, thank you, sir. >> You too. >> Yep. Thanks. >> Police didn't stop with those suspects. After tracing the vehicle seen at the scene, they tracked down another suspect connected to the theft. Just like the girls before him, this young man showed no sign of remorse at all. >> I'm testing your honesty right now. Okay. >> Yeah. The tat. Um, if that's his head, then Yeah. >> Here's the blue Impala. All right. So, just so you know, I'm not lying. >> I'm telling you everything I got. That Gigi, >> I think so. Man, >> who's this girl with a black tube top? >> I'm not sure. >> Not sure. >> Not sure. I've seen her before. Don't know her name. >> Come on. >> Don't know her name. >> Need your help. All right. How about this girl with the glasses? >> The girl with the glasses name is Carissa. >> I appreciate you being honest with me. Obviously, you know, you identified yourself from there. [snorts] It's a petty theft. Okay. It's a misdemeanor. It's the lowest level of offense. You're probably going to have a warrant written for your arrest. you'll end up getting arrested or well you could turn yourself in but [snorts] um Wawa wants to prosecute everybody because it's an ongoing issue. >> All right. You got any questions for me? >> No. >> How about you, Dad? You dead? >> Yeah. >> Okay. You got any questions for me? >> No. >> All right. My my suggestion is one, just don't steal at all. >> And and two, I'd probably quit going to the wall up there. Yeah. I wouldn't I wouldn't go back if I were you. And I know it's uh kind of become a bit of a teen hangout lately, but they're watching hard and they want to crack down. So, >> all of the suspects questioned by police mentioned another person involved and days later, officers managed to track that suspect down. Unlike the others, she at least appeared to show some regret for what had happened. >> Um uh we should be honest, we were all drunk one night and we went there. I did take two cases of uh twisted teas, but >> Okay. I mean, why are you doing that? Just cuz you can't >> cuz you're not old enough to buy it and >> Yeah. I mean, like I have the money and if they want us to pay them back or >> whatever the case may be, I'll do that. I just I'll never do it again. I haven't done that. I haven't grown the seats. >> Okay. >> Let me show you some pictures. So, that was that's GG there, right? >> Yeah. >> All right. And then that's you obviously, right? >> Okay. kind of unmistakable with the tattoos and everything. >> Stop stealing. >> Don't steal. Period. >> And and definitely don't steal from Wawa anymore cuz they want to prosecute all you guys. You're not under arrest. I'm not taking you to jail today. I appreciate your honesty. You're probably going to have a misdemeanor warrant at some point. You can either turn yourself in at that point or just wait until you get arrested. But um >> what happens if I turn myself in? Do I get like >> I mean you can turn yourself in at the jail once you have the warrant and they'll book you in and then you you you'll have a bond and you'll be able to get released. >> Okay. >> I appreciate your honesty. Thank you. No more stealing. >> No, sir. >> I know you guys. >> How were you? >> Oh, thank you. >> Although she had been warned beforehand, the first woman, Giovana, still showed no sense of guilt even when police arrested her. What happened? >> We're just looking to talk to someone. >> I own this. >> Oh, is GJ here? Get >> these kids out of here. >> Steal stuff. >> Hey G stealing [ __ ] I'm just calling my mom. We can't have What am I being arrested for? >> Your warrant that you have. Mom, >> they're busting me right now. >> Why did you even answer the door? >> I let them in. You can't have people with warrants living in these rental houses, dude. >> And I was going in either way. The address is on. >> Mom, new shoes back in there. My house. >> You walk around. Is >> the front door open? >> Yeah, it is right now. >> Hey, can you get her a pair of shoes? You want to put a job on or not? >> Mom's on your parents live here. >> Yeah. >> Do you have anything on you? >> No. Nothing at all? >> No. >> Um, sorry. >> Okay. >> I'm going to I'll sit in the back there. >> Thank you. >> Am I going to have a bail? >> Yeah. Like my mom can bail me out today. >> Yeah. You'll be there for a little bit cuz you're an adult. >> You'll be able to bail out. >> My mug shot better not be on Facebook. I swear. I'm putting it on, bro. I literally prepared myself yesterday. >> I literally did my hair and everything yesterday cuz I thought I was going to get arrested yesterday. I was preparing myself to get arrested cuz everyone was saying I had a warrant. So, I was like getting ready for it. >> All the suspects were charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft. What did you think about these suspects? >> Didn't even know that. Like, I bought I bought some cupcakes. I came home. She was running to the parking lot. On the 23rd of January 2025, police received a report from Walmart about a woman who stole a propane cylinder and a heater, leaving without paying, even as an employee tried to chase her down and stop her. Based on the description, officers quickly intercepted the suspect's vehicle. Here was what happened next. Early in the county are out at 21st in Hammond. Definitely an older Buick. >> I lost visual >> bike deployed. Vehicle's moving eastbound 28. Coming up on traffic coming up to county. occupied wheel blown out. >> Yeah, that's good. >> Car stopped at the tracks occupied. Wheel are blown out. >> The woman recklessly fled, even blowing past police vehicles with her tire already destroyed. Officers quickly caught up to the suspect and what happened next turned completely intense. >> Stop where you're at. >> Come back further. >> Come back further. >> I can't hear you. as fast as I can. >> You're going to kill me. [crying] >> Hey, can you just make sure your truck's locked here? >> Hey, uh, that girl. >> Yeah. >> Did you run across the train? >> Okay, thank you. >> No problem. No, we need Is this the car we're looking at here? >> Yeah, >> if the train will clear, but we need someone across the other side. She think she got it over the train. >> What? >> She got over the train. >> Yeah, it was stopped for a second. >> I beg her TO STOP. IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ME. HOW? What did I do about the victim? >> The person detained at the scene turned out to be a man believed to be the suspect's boyfriend. He repeatedly shouted that he was the victim. And his story even made it sound like this case may have taken a kidnapping turn. >> Does that all make sense? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, obviously you were wondering, obviously you're not driving, right? She fled from the police >> and I I screamed at her, begged her to stop. That's my dad's car. My dad's car. He's going to kill me. Yeah, that's a felony. Okay. >> He's going to kill me. >> Also, she was they were doing a whole stealing. >> See, I didn't even know that. Like, I bought I bought some cupcakes. I came out and she was running to the parking lot. I had no clue what's going on. That stuff was already like like I seriously had no clue. >> Like, I would have never let her in there. That [ __ ] pissed me the I want nothing to do with her. She also took the car. I kept telling her, "Stop. I I'll press charges on that." >> Sure. You keep saying she. What's her name? >> I told you Natasha Stone. >> Natasha Stone. How do you know who to talk to? >> I know her from Ashlin. >> Okay. >> She's actually my girlfriend, but not no more. >> And where does she live? >> In Ashlin. >> In Ashlin. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I came over here to see my kids. >> Okay. It's all right. >> Well, I tell you what. I'm going to I'm going to look up some stuff real quick and we'll try to get you on your way. Okay. >> I don't even know what I'm going to do. Like my dad's car is [ __ ] >> You don't have no rewards or anything like that. >> No, but this is up. My dad's car is [ __ ] >> The woman was believed to have abandoned the car and fled the scene on foot, forcing officers to split into multiple teams and continue the search. >> Occupants in the garage, make yourself known. McDonald will find you and he may bite you. >> So, how do I how do I put a note? >> What is it that you wanted to press start for >> for taking the car? I Well, not taking her. She she had permission from my dad to take the car, but I screamed at her. Stop. I I I don't know why she whether she wanted to flee. I said she didn't face her consequences. She [ __ ] peeled off. I screamed the whole time. Stop. Stop. Stop. Go. Good. Good to go. Yeah, you're good to go. If you see if you see a native lady wearing jeans, dark jacket, and white shoes, give 911 a call, please. >> All right. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> I mean, I had I as you I had my runins with a lot, but the thing is I grew up like I I I had two kids pass away two years ago in a tragic car accident. And it's like the last thing I want is anybody around me that's negative. I [ __ ] just she's been telling telling me all these lies about how she's changed and she's she wants to be better and she's going to do better. >> A short time later, police received a call from a local resident reporting that a strange woman had broken into their home, matching the suspect's description exactly. That was the moment officers made it clear to her that there was no escaping anymore. Pennsylvania ran towards the alleys. Oh, our footprints aren't here. Oh, yeah, they are. Can I get it? >> Yep. >> Yep. >> Don't see anybody. Oh, here we go. Hi, police department. Hi. >> Uh, is your garage right back behind your house? >> Yeah, >> the door is wide open. >> Okay. >> Um, we uh we had someone fleeing from us. We found them. We apprehended them. Um, they may have been in your garage back there. So, I'm just letting you know the door is wide open. >> Okay. All right. Thanks. >> Yep. >> The woman was charged with shoplifting, felony fleeing from police, and resisting or obstructing an officer. Crime only gets worse when panic leads to more bad decisions. And running from responsibility often turns a small crime into far more serious charges for everything. You didn't pay for that. >> I had Let's go. I paid for you. >> Hey, shut up. >> On the 9th of May 2025, police received a call from Walmart regarding a theft that had already taken place. The suspects were believed to be two men who attempted to stuff merchandise into backpacks without any intention of paying. At that time, officers waited for the moment the suspects left so they could move in. Excuse me. >> Hello. >> Yeah. Protection. You have [clears throat] >> No, it's in your bag. Let's go. I paid for it. >> Let's go. >> We know where it is. We saw you do it. >> It's in your bag. Come on. >> We saw you do it. It's on camera. >> No, it's too late now. >> No, that's great. It's too late now. >> Should have paid for it when you had the chance. >> Okay, >> I paid for it. The receipts for everything. >> Let's go in here. >> No, I didn't miss anything. Let's go in here. >> No, I'm just saying you can look at >> That's awesome. We're going to go in there for the stuff that you put in your bag. >> No, look. I'm serious. There's Look, we're going to do this in here. >> Look, everything's on this. We're going to go in here. This is everything on here. >> We're going to go in here. >> Why do I have to go? >> Because I'm telling you, >> if that's not on there, obviously, I'd pay for everything. You didn't pay for that. >> I have. >> Let's go. >> The suspect tried to explain and clear his name. But what he needed to do was follow the officers and handle everything calmly. But immediately afterward, everything went in the opposite direction. You did not. >> Hey, stop. Hey. Hey. Hey. No. Hey, stop right now. >> Yo. Hey. Hands behind your back. >> Stop. No. I have my little brother in the car. No. I have my little brother in the car. No. No. I'm sorry. I go in here. I said my little brother. I go in here. I was just letting you know I have my little brother in the car. >> I have my little brother in the car. That's it. But I will go in here with you. I'm willing going. >> You need to stop now. Are you willing to take? >> I'm sorry. Yeah. Put your hands behind your back now. >> Okay. Hey, sir. Stop. >> Hey, STOP. >> I I put my hands behind my back. >> Get on the ground now. Get on the ground now. On the ground now. Get all the way on the ground. >> Do not move. >> You are under arrest for obstruction. >> The officers had to attempt to detain both individuals at the same time, which created a difficult situation, allowing the man in the gray shirt to escape. Amid the confusion, he was later brought back into the loss prevention area. His name? His name is Jam Brandon Tracy, sir. It's my husband. I'm Benjamin Lober. So, >> all right. >> I wasn't going to have anything further than it >> Let's just start with your name. >> Benjamin Link. >> Do you have your ID on you? >> I think he had he had >> Is it in that wallet? >> Uh, wallet? I don't have a wallet, sir. But >> it's >> No, you have a wallet right there. >> Uh, it should be should be. If not, it's it's probably in my pocket and you're welcome to take a look. Does he have warrants? Like why did he run? No, >> he just he's we've never had really the greatest interactions with gentlemen before, but like it just just naturally like he just >> All right. >> That was his explanation for his earlier chaotic behavior. However, when confronted with the reason he had been stopped in the first place, he no longer seemed willing to deny it. The reason that I'm arresting you is because when I was trying to arrest him, >> you got in my way and were pushing me out of the way. >> My kids want to trade voicemail. >> Shortly after, the man was released with a court date along with his partner. Both suspects were charged with shoplifting and resisting arrest. Trying to justify wrongdoing or resist officers only escalates a situation that could otherwise be resolved calmly, turning a minor theft case into additional charges, like resisting arrest.
