Come here. >> Did you just put that in your pocket right in front of me? >> Wow. As kids, [music] many of us dreamed of having superpowers. Even now, some adults still think they're invisible while shoplifting or have magical pants to hide stolen items. But once they're caught, chaos erupts. >> I ain't got to tell you my name. Let's go to jail. >> Okay. I'm about to go on my mama ON MY M FOR YOU. >> NO, >> because you done up, >> bro. I don't care. >> What happened to them in the end? You'll find out in today's video. When shoplifterss think their full cart theft is just another Walmart trip. We are This is Law. Don't forget to like and subscribe. Beginning with this woman who had a magic pants >> watching you stuff items into your clothes that are not paid for. Is this true? >> Uh yes. Is that okay? On the 5th of June 2024, police stopped a woman who had pushed an entire cart of merchandise out of the store. The situation became even more suspicious when she was suspected of hiding multiple items inside her pants pockets. She wasn't even embarrassed as she openly admitted it. This was what happened next. >> Hi, ma'am. Ma'am, I need you to stop for me. I need you to stop for me. Okay. >> Can we go back inside, please? >> No, >> ma'am. I'm officer at all department. I'm going to be frank with you right now. Okay, >> ma'am. Yeah. Okay. The Walmart staff here said they've been watching you stuff items into your clothes that are not paid for. Is this true? Uh yes. >> Okay. Do you have items concealed on you right now that you have not purchased and left Walmart store without purchasing them? >> Yes. >> Okay. And where are those items concealed at? >> Here my pant leg. >> Okay. What are the items that you took from Walmart? >> Uh pair of pants. >> Pair of pants. What else did you take? >> The woman took a moment before giving her answers as if she was debating whether to lie or not. Immediately after she pulled out each item one by one. Uh, a couple envelopes of uh, tuna, I guess. >> Okay. >> Okay. Separate these. >> What all is in that bag there that you put in there? Those bars of some sort. Yes. >> Okay. Hand that to officer at all, please. >> Okay. I'm going to remove this card from you right now. Okay. Do you have an ID on you? >> Okay. Can you provide me with that, please? >> What's the reason you're taking these items? >> Hi there. Who Who's going to be assisting? >> I've never done it before. Oh, do you want to get a bag? Put that in. >> Oh, yeah. You're fine. >> Yeah, I just >> And where's the receipt for all these items? >> Okay. Okay. So, you can't steal items from retail establishments, a class A state owner. So, you are being placed under arrest right now for retail. Is there anything else on you that we need to know of before we transport you? You can leave your purse off cuz you're going to be placing handcuffs here in a second. Okay. [music] Do you have anything else on you? >> I I'm going to end up searching you, so it's better to provide anything that you have on your on your person. Just set it right there on the top of that fridge. >> Queen 400 59251674. Queen 400 59251674. >> Is that your cell phone? >> Yes. >> That's not Can you hand me that, please? >> That's not stolen. >> Okay. I'm going to have the Walmart staff check these bags to make sure that everything in here is accounted for that's been paid. Is there any other items there? >> The evidence had now been clearly laid out. At this point, handcuffing her was unavoidable. Okay. All right. Have you face this wall here? Officer Doggo is going to search you and make sure you don't have anything else on you. Do you have anything else going to poke, stick, or harm any of the officers here? >> No. >> Okay. Nothing else that you're aware of that's on you that should not be on you. Correct? >> No. >> Okay. What is What is this for you? >> Short for long. >> Is it just the pullup? >> She said she stole pants. She put those >> Do you have any other any other pants? Is that Is that what this is? >> I have a disposable underwear on. Okay. But you said you had pants that you had taken. >> Oh, they fell down my pant leg. >> Okay. Um I I found them. >> More large items were still found in the woman's pants, further confirming that she had been quite experienced in this act. While the officers were determining the total value of the loss, she also admitted to what she had done. >> You've scanned if you've scanned. >> I scanned everything that I've seen. >> Okay. >> That way I can take a picture of all of it together. >> So this is actually we're missing three bars to make two boxes. >> How long you guys feeling? How long you been coming here? >> Okay. How long you been coming here putting stuff in your clothes since you believe they're overpriced? How long's that been going on? quite a while. >> Yes. >> Is this something too? >> No, some should probably be put somewhere. I found it up here. >> Okay, thanks. >> That was with >> That's nice. I'm sorry. >> What's the high pants? Finally, >> the highest item >> $21.98. >> This is the >> What is it though? What item is it? >> The pants. >> The pants. Okay. >> Looks like that. That's evidence on >> Did you get a training machine already? >> No, he's working on it. >> Training machine. >> You guys have two seconds. >> All right. I'm going to take this to u my squad and start loading it up. >> That's fine. We don't matter. >> The total value of the stolen items was estimated at $67.96. With this amount, it did not reach the threshold for a felony charge. So, the police made a specific decision regarding her case. >> Make sure you leave Walmart property. As of now, you are banned from all Walmart properties. You cannot return to any Walmart in the United States where you'll be charged and arrested for criminal trespass. Okay? That's a lifetime ban. You cannot go to Sam's Club, Walmart, anything that's owned by the Walmart Corporation. You're no longer allowed at. Okay? So, go ahead and follow us. We're going to go out to a sper. Okay. >> That's all we're going to see in this property right now. You'll get all >> heading back to >> Can you take Can you take this with you? >> I just don't want to miss it. >> Yeah. You got anything? >> Yeah. The only thing was if we didn't get the form the banner banned her, so we'll just do that. Um, I'm gonna get a few names. I don't know if they put any names. Are there any names of the callers in there? >> Just one. >> Okay. I believe >> she was charged with retail theft. Her actions show how a moment of poor judgment and dishonesty can quickly escalate into criminal charges. Even when the value seems low, the consequences remain real, and accountability follows once intent and evidence are established. Next, a simple shoplifting case earned this woman several more charges. Can >> I get your name real quick? >> I ain't got one. >> Give me your name or you going to jail. >> Let's go. >> JOSEPH FROM WESTLAND. >> OH, Sergeant G. YOU TALKING SOMETHING ABOUT >> ON THE 29th of August 2025, police received a report from a grocery store about a shoplifting incident that had [music] occurred. When they arrived at the scene, the loss prevention department raised their suspicions, but the woman denied everything. You grab your bottle. >> Did I grab two? No, >> you grabbed one. >> It look like I grabbed two. >> You moved them around. >> I didn't move nothing around. You >> grab You grab your one. >> Cuz you can't move nothing around with that one in front. Did I grab two? >> There's a little bitty bottle right there in front. So, how did I move anything around? Let's play checkers and check. But if you want to call police, go ahead. >> I mean, they're already here. >> Hi. >> Okay. Hey, let's go. Come on. >> Hold on. Just hold on. >> Come on. So you wonder though she did. >> So >> she did pay for the tea lemonade. Actually just >> that none of that was paid for. >> Do you have your >> camera for that? >> That you didn't pay for that? >> Do you have your receipt on you? >> And since we want to see all this, too. >> There we go. >> That's paid for. That's paid for. You paid for this. I watched you pay for that. >> Okay. And she said everything else. So she stopped. So I'm going based off her words and what I heard. I want to see that one. I want to see. >> She said for the stuff that you just have in your bag that's right there where I can see. >> The signs of theft became increasingly obvious. Yet the woman showed no signs of guilt. She even calmly ate and drank, making the situation even more tense. >> All right. Do you have an ID or anything on you? >> No. Can I get your name real quick? >> I ain't got one. >> Give me your name or you going to jail. >> Let's go. >> So, what's your name? >> Oh, you think I'm playing? >> What is your name? >> I'm not playing. >> Why? Why do you want to be difficult? >> You said give me your name or we're going to jail. >> Why aren't you give me your name? >> Come on. >> What is your name? >> I ain't got to tell you. >> Why you playing all these games? What is your game? >> I ain't even got an ID and I'm telling you the truth. Let's go. >> Then what is your name? You don't have to give me an ID. >> I got to tell you my name. Let's go to jail. >> Okay. >> The woman made her choice in an arrogant manner, but she had no idea the officers were not playing any games. They truly meant it. And moments later, chaos erupted. >> First of all, >> stop. >> First of all, DON'T PUSH MY stomach in. >> Stop. >> YOU JUST PUSH MY GODDAMN STOMACH. STOP. >> YOU JUST PUSHED my stomach. >> GET OFF MY STOMACH. >> YOU HIT MY RADIO. >> Get off my stomach. >> That side button. >> Get off my stomach. G >> 209. Pick another one. >> Get off my stomach. >> Roll over. >> Get off my stomach. >> Roll over. >> You just push my stomach. >> Over. >> Come on. >> Roll over. >> You got to Come on. >> Stop. >> Come on. Get off my stomach. >> Then roll over. >> Roll over. >> GET OFF MY STOMACH. >> ROLL OVER. >> Get off my stomach. >> Please roll over. >> I can't breathe, you idiot. >> Please roll over. >> Get off. Get off my stomach, G. >> Just roll over. >> Get off my stomach. Get all the way off. >> Roll over. I'm not on your stomach. The officers even warned the woman with a taser, but her ego only fueled the confrontation. Nothing seemed to calm her down, and she showed no shame as the struggle continued on the floor. >> You just off my stomach. >> Just move. >> You just pushed my stomach in the counter. >> I did because you wanted to resist me and you were going to go in handcuffs. Ma'am, you take your foot off there, please, cuz I don't want that to fall down. Oh, >> push my damn stomach. Get off. Oh, get off my ass, Suji. My mama, get off. You tired? Get off my stomach. >> Just >> get off my stomach. >> Get off of me. >> Stop. Please stop. >> Get off me. >> Y'all want to play today? >> I ain't got time to play out here with >> I don't want to do this. Just roll over. >> Get off me. >> Roll over. >> Get off. Hey, sis. Get off. >> Please roll over. >> Get off of me. >> Please roll over. >> Get off my >> Please roll over. >> Off. >> Please roll over. >> Hey, listen. Listen. Just roll over. >> Off my stomach. >> Roll over. You're going to get tased. >> Roll over. You're going to get tased. >> Roll over. >> It ain't work on that table. >> Roll it over. Yep. General, I would go look up. [laughter] Hey, hey, just hey, you're going to get HEY, LISTEN. >> TASE ME IF YOU WANT. >> HEY, >> I want some food, G. Joseph, West. >> Oh, Sergeant G. I want you to >> I swear to God. >> Immediately after being escorted outside, the woman's walk of shame began. But she had no intention of making it an easy one. >> You better tell me things right. Huh? >> You don't know. YOU ARM. You breaking my arm. >> Not broken. >> My arm is already broke. >> Your arm's not broke. >> No. Y'all not supposed to carry NOBODY LIKE THAT. LET PRESSURE OFF MY >> ME AGAIN. >> YOU BREAK MY ARM. >> YOU BREAKING MY ARM. >> Got him. >> I got her. >> YOU BREAKING MY ARM. >> I GOT HER. >> HEY, chill out. >> Relief. Push off. You >> get in the car. Get in the car. >> Get in the car. >> You going to push my stomach thing? >> Yeah. >> You know what? You know what? You got to do a good job, man. Seriously. >> Oh my god. >> Seriously. >> Seriously. >> I don't have her name or anything. >> Beat your ass back home. >> Can you just stay here? He doesn't break my squad car. After successfully arresting the woman, the officers continued investigating the employees account of the incident, giving them additional grounds to pursue further charges against her. >> All right. Um, can you just tell me what happened? Like why you got called? >> Saw her in our department. >> Yep. >> Um, she had a lot of luggage. >> She grabbed a bottle of the three olives whippy vodka off the shelf. >> Okay. >> And then walked with it out of the department. So, I just kind of followed her out and she zigzagged through the aisles. Um, and then eventually made her way up to the register and paid for juice. >> Okay. >> She didn't pay for the bottle, but put it in her purse. >> So, that was in her like the like that was like a book bag. >> It was in like a I don't know a large bag kind of that was on the back of her luggage. >> The back of the luggage. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, it was in that and then that's when you >> and that's she checked out with her juice and then she left and that's when I come up to her. She had a receipt for the bottle and then she started arguing with me. She's like, "Well, what about all this other stuff in my bag?" And she started pulling out things and I said, "I didn't ask about any of those things." I just asked about the bottle. And then she just kept arguing with me about the other things in her luggage in her bag. Okay. >> And that's when I called Chris over. >> Okay. All right. And I He took over from there. They were back here and then I showed up. >> Yes. >> Okay. Do you have an ID or can I just get your name really quick? >> Yeah, >> I can just get your name. It's okay. All right. So, she was in there all of her bags. Keep an eye on her. And then where did she check out at? Did she check out on this side or >> like it was over here? It was over. >> It was over here. Okay. And you saw that in her bag? >> Yes. >> Okay. Did you happen to grab it and take it back or I did you did? >> I was going to take a picture of it real quick. >> The woman was ultimately charged with retail theft, battery on a law enforcement officer, obstructing, and resisting arrest. Arrogance and refusal to cooperate can turn a minor theft case into multiple criminal charges with far more serious consequences. Worse, Walmart was thrown into chaos because of this employees behavior. >> BRO, LET ME GO. [screaming] >> STOP. MOVE. I'm going to call my mom. >> I'm going to call >> I'M GOING TO CALL MY MAMA. >> On the 19th of September 2025, officers were dispatched to a Walmart after reports of an ongoing disturbance. Even worse, the person causing the disruption turned out to be an employee of the store as she refused to return her company uniform. This was what unfolded when officers arrived at the scene. >> Well, listen, y'all. Just find yourself. >> Please stop touching. Please stop touching. >> Give them the stuff. What are we doing? >> Give them the stuff. >> If you walk out of the store, you're getting arrested and that's going to be that. >> Okay. >> You got Oh, >> come here. Now you done. >> Now you done. >> The woman completely ignored the officer's commands, effectively turning the situation into a resisting charge. Moments later, the officers took action to put an end to her behavior. >> Stop, bro. Stop. Bro, stop talking. [laughter] Stop touching me, bro. >> Stop. >> Bro, move. >> MOVE, BRO. [screaming] LET ME GO. I SWEAR TO GOD. LISTEN, >> baby girl. >> BRO, LET ME GO. [screaming] BRO, I BRO, LET ME GO. >> BRO, STOP. >> BRO, let me, >> BABY. GIRL, >> I SWEAR YOU GOT to let me go. >> Just listen, GIRL. >> YOU BABY, JUST LISTEN. WILL EVER BREAK ANYTHING TO GOD. YOU GET A [ __ ] CASE, BRO. >> COOL. That was fun, wasn't it? For no reason. >> Bro, bro, LET ME GO. AND YOU TOUCH ME AND I'M LIKE, [screaming] BRO, LET ME GO, BRO. LET ME GO. YEAH, BROTHER. LET ME GO, >> BRO. I'M LIKE, YEAH, BROTHER, LET ME GO FOR A ISSUE AND take these com. >> Bro, let me go, >> baby. >> Bro, let me go. Oh, let me go. >> Let me go. >> Come on. >> You got to listen to it, >> bro. Let me go. >> Are we really going to do this right now? >> Bro, we all get this cuz let me go. >> We gave you every opportunity to get the best vac. >> She clearly did nothing to make the situation any less chaotic. In fact, she showed little concern for the charges she was facing, seemingly believing that her age could serve as an excuse for her actions. >> We're not booking her. >> Stop. >> Move. I'm going to call my mama. I'm going to call headphones. >> I'M GOING TO CALL MY MAMA. I'M A MINOR FOR YOU. >> NO, >> because you done up, >> bro. I don't care. I'M A MINOR AND Y'ALL JUST DID ALL THIS. >> GOOD. WHY YOU GET ARRESTED? >> I don't care. >> Get in the car. >> Give me my phone. Get in the car. Get in the car. Stop picking me. >> Stop picking me. >> Get in the car. >> AND THEN Y'ALL Y'ALL JUST DID ALL >> GET IN THE CAR. >> I GETTING A TICKET. >> OKAY, BRO. STOP PULLING ON ME. >> Am I going to get in the car? Y'ALL GOT ALL THIS [ __ ] RIGHT HERE. STOP PUSHING. >> CLOSE THE DOOR. >> GET IN THE CAR. >> BRO, WHAT THE DON'T YOU SEE ME IN THE CAR? >> Jesus Christ. >> God damn. In reality, refusing to return the vest could easily have led to a theft charge. Yet, she remained confident that being a minor would shield her from the consequences, even going as far as ordering the officers around. >> Give me my phone so I can call my parents. >> We are going to call your parents. >> No, you are not. Give me my phone so I can call my parents. Listen to me. >> No, I'm not trying to hear none. I'm not trying to >> I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU'RE TRYING to hear. Okay. >> Okay. So, stop talking. >> We are trying to call your parents. >> No. How you going to call my parents? You don't even know my parent number. >> That's why we roll down the window. You see? So we can talk if you want to talk. >> I don't want to talk. Y'all just did ALL THAT FOR NO REASON. >> WELL, you have to call your mom or your dad. Whichever one. >> You all did all that for no reason. Y'all could have been that a PARENT OR GUARDIAN. >> It doesn't matter. >> It does not matter. >> Listen to me. No. Hold on. >> It does matter. >> Oh, you know the law. I do actually. >> Okay. Well, you don't. So, that's the thing. We gave you every opportunity to leave. Every opportunity TO LEAVE. >> I'M GOING HOME. DON'T YOU SEE? THE UBER booked though near to go. >> They needed the vest. That's all they need. >> I'll go give IT TO THE STORE MANAGER. The head of the store. >> The head of the store. I literally said that five times. I was coming back tomorrow to talk to the lady. I said that. I said that. And I said I was done talking. I'm not talking to y'all. I'm talking to your higher ups. >> They didn't want to talk to you. They needed the vest back. That was it. >> I said I was going to talk to their higher ups. It's nothing for me to to eliterate with them. Literally, >> all they wanted was the vest. >> Okay. And I told you, okay, but they WERE GOING TO GET THE BEST. If the lady YELLING AT ME, YOU'RE NOT LETTING ME TALK, OKAY? CUZ THERE'S NOTHING TO talk about. It's nothing to talk about. And then you're if you're giving me a ticket, no need to book me for a ticket. You know how many tickets I didn't got? >> She showed no remorse and seemed completely unconcerned about her fate. Meanwhile, another group of officers met with the store's loss prevention staff to determine what had started the incident in the first place. >> Terminated and then went to get the the best in the name from her and she refused to do it and give it and say that she was going to give it to her keys, but I told her it doesn't work that way. >> So, that's when we ended up here. >> Yeah. Yeah. cuz then she stormed out of the room and >> Rob is she like yelling or >> um it was quiet until we got to the back. >> So and that's Yeah, that's when in the back room she started telling me that it ain't it ain't my property. It's not Walmart's property because this is from another Walmart. >> She's never worked at another Walmart. It's the only Walmart she worked at. >> I'm going to go finish writing up her termination before I leave. >> Yeah. get that done. >> Well, and she wasn't listening. I said, "This is the exact reason why." >> The girl was charged with theft and disorderly conduct. Refusing to take responsibility only made the situation worse. What could have ended with a simple return of company property turned into criminal charges because of unnecessary defiance. Next, these shoplifterss from an illegal Venezuelan migrant group proved to be no better. [ __ ] >> My phone. My phone. You speak English now. >> On the 11th of March 2025, police received a report from a shopping mall about a theft that had just occurred. The suspects were believed to be a group of Venezuelans who had fled with armfuls of unpaid clothing. Moments later, a tense pursuit unfolded as officers raced to track them down. >> GIVE UP NOW. COME HERE. [ __ ] >> Good boy. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Okay. >> Good boy. >> Yeah. OKAY. OKAY. >> SURE. YEAH. Where's the team? Don't ush >> There's still one more in there. [snorts] >> Yeah. Uh I think we got two three. Huh? Do >> we still have any more up? be looking for you boy. >> Huh? >> True. Huh? True. What? >> No. The suspects were determined to have scattered immediately after their theft had succeeded, forcing police to split into multiple teams to track down and capture them one BY ONE. >> PUT HIM UP. >> NO, NO, NO, NO. Put him up. >> No, you're not. >> Get down. Get down. >> Sorry, man. You know, sorry. No, no, man. >> Radio 9341. I got one to chain here in front of Jared. >> Hi, friend. You know, you know. >> Shut up. >> Copies in front of Jared. >> Be quiet. Be quiet. You're not. >> Okay. You know, >> I know you don't know. >> My friends, >> don't play with me. >> I know. You know my friend. >> My friend. No. >> Where's your boy? >> Hey. >> Where's your boy? >> Be quiet. No. >> Okay. 44. Stay where you're at. >> I got him, guys. I appreciate it. >> My phone. >> My phone. Oh, you speak English now. >> Hey, >> the other one took off. The third one? >> Yeah, the other one just took off. Yeah. >> Clearly, they fully understood English, but deliberately used the language barrier as an excuse to avoid revealing the whereabouts of the third suspect. Shortly afterward, both arrested suspects were transported to the police station for further questioning. >> Okay. >> Please, you understand the rights that I read and that you had in front of you. Compendo. Did you compendo? >> Okay. That's why this is in Spanish. Here you compendo. >> Yes. >> You understand? >> Hey. Why you guys have that individual? >> Yeah. Nordstrom Rex. They just stole like a ton of merchandise. It was about three males. >> Just Just is he the only person you got? >> Uh, we got another one, but we are missing one. And he looked like he drove off in a car. All right. >> Huh? >> Huh? >> You're not going to run. >> Oh, career. Career. >> No. Yeah. See? Okay. Yeah, right. Yeah, you already ran. Okay. >> The suspects were separated for individual interviews and with the help of translation tools. The language barrier posed no challenge for the officers. At that point, they began questioning them about everything. >> Is the merchandise you guys took in the car or did you throw it somewhere? >> Where are you from? >> Colia. >> Do you have any immigration hearings set up? How much did you guys take from the store? >> And I actually eat seven shirts and treasure. >> You You took that from the store. >> Three of them. >> Seven. >> Seven. [snorts] >> Shorts. >> Three. >> Three. >> Three shorts. Seven shorts. >> Yo. >> Yo. Yo. shoes. >> One piece of one shoes. Okay. >> Any of the stuff you're wearing from the store and all the items you took are in the car. this auto. >> No. >> No. [snorts] >> The suspects were ultimately charged with retail fraud and theft. Never assume a language barrier will protect you from accountability. Investigators can use translation tools and other evidence to uncover the truth, making honesty and responsibility far better choices than deception. Next, this mother even tried to shift all the blame onto her own daughter. >> You had nothing to do with that? >> No. >> Okay. So, she she knowingly knew what was going on. Okay. >> On the 18th of March, 2022, officers responded to a Target store after receiving reports of a theft involving an older woman and her 22-year-old daughter. Here was what allegedly happened. According to the store employees statement, >> security not obviously a child. The mother is right here on the other side of the beam >> with the black shirt. Uh but the card total card amount that was pushed out was just over $1,500. >> So mom mom had mom. >> So mom was not with her. We only apprehended the [music] Kelsey as her child because she was one. >> How old is she? 20 22. She was born in 2000. Oh, so she's an adult. She's an adult. So, I'm not sure if you guys have anything about [music] that. >> Okay. >> So, was mom and her shopping together or >> they were both together, but your daughter was the one pushing the carts when they exited the store, so >> Okay. Does she Does she know what's going on? >> I came out here to try and talk to her. Then I saw these guys down here. Okay. Immediately afterward, the officer approached the mother involved in the incident. She appeared to deny any suspicion raised by the store and insisted she had nothing to do with the alleged theft. >> What's going on today? >> Nothing. >> So, no one was trying to take a card outside. >> My stepdaughter. >> Your stepdaughter? Okay. >> You had nothing to do with that? >> No. >> Okay. >> Okay. Well, hang tight here for a second. I'm going to go talk to her. Okay. Okay. >> Do you want to press charging for >> Okay. It's okay. >> No, I know. I I just got I got to ask that just so it's on record. >> Yeah. >> This is all the stuff. It was only one car, but this is >> Okay. So, one last thing from me. >> This is statement >> basically says you're not allowed in this for a year. >> Did she make it out of the store? >> Yeah, she made it all points. It's like [music] right in that vestibial area. Definitely grabs you after it. >> Okay. Okay. What's your name? >> Keep K E L S I E >> S I E >> W I N. >> Sorry. >> G W I N. >> Day >> July 25th, 2000. So, what's going on today? >> The suspect quickly realized the situation was far more serious than she had expected. At that point, she began admitting the truth and acknowledged her role in the theft. >> So, she she knowingly knew what was going on. >> Okay. So, is is she in the same situation that you >> or Okay, >> they're about to move. >> So, I have to figure out. >> So, she knew she knew what was going on the whole time you were doing this. >> Okay. All right, Kelsey, stand up for me, please. You don't have any weapons or anything on you, do you? >> What? >> I don't. >> Okay. You don't have any drugs or anything that get you jammed up? >> Double lock these so they don't tighten on you. Okay. >> Missing person that just came in. Did she give you a name for that color? >> Is this your possessions here? >> Okay. Is >> this yours? >> Thank you. >> The daughter admitted that her mother had been with her throughout the entire incident and knew exactly what was happening. However, when officers questioned the mother about it, she completely denied any involvement or knowledge of the theft. >> Now, what is your role in this? I am hurt >> and I was just giving her rides today. She's been homeless for like a year and a half and I thought she had the money to pay for it. >> Okay. Now, did you tell her to leave with the stuff without paying or >> No. >> So, what at what point did you see her leaving without it? Or were you trying to leave too? >> No, I was on my way out and she was still back there shopping. I didn't even know that she was right behind me. >> Okay. So, like as you're tell me where you were when you were on the way out and where she was >> when you found >> I was almost outside and then >> I just heard a ruckus and turned around and they were there >> and that guy was there. I thought she was paying for something. >> You thought she was paying for it? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> All right. So, >> well, I mean it I've never been in trouble before. >> Okay. Well, um, she's going to be going to jail >> for the theft of the $1,500 worth of stuff there. Yeah. Now, I I miranda you because I wasn't sure what your involvement was in on it. >> She remained calm and showed no concern for her daughter. It seemed she was simply trying to avoid being tied to the theft. However, the loss prevention team had evidence linking her to the crime. >> Yeah. Yeah, I don't I don't have enough to uh place that other woman under arrest, but >> So, she's up that's her Judy up front. >> Judy was up front. Um >> they made their way through this bypassing all of the check lanes. She was maybe 10 8 ft in front of her. Uh but because she had the unpaid merchandise, that's >> okay. >> And I did try asking Kelsey. I said, "Did your stepmom put you up to this? Was she like trying to coersse you to do this? And it was a no. >> I was thinking she was way farther ahead. >> No, it was just maybe 10 ft if that. >> And that's how she walked through in front of her the whole store. >> Yeah. While they were shopping and putting stuff in the carts. >> Okay. Um I don't know. [clears throat] Um, not necessarily split off, but Judy had walked towards the door and then walked back to Kelsey and then they walked out together. Kelsey was charged with thirdderee theft and two counts of probation violation after attempting to steal more than $1,500 worth of merchandise from Target. The mother was not arrested at the scene, but investigators continued reviewing the evidence and considered possible charges against her for her alleged involvement. If you knowingly take part in a crime, surveillance footage and witness statements can expose the truth, no matter how carefully you try to deny it. Next, she wasn't a shoplifter, but the level of complications she created was something else entirely. >> V. >> Your last name's not three V's. >> Yes, it is. >> You have no idea when you >> But I have no [ __ ] idea. >> What? >> Okay. >> You're not going to do it. The suspect, a woman who had reportedly been banned from returning multiple times, continued showing up anyway. This was what happened when officers approached her. >> Did you just put that in your pocket right in front of me? >> Take out what's in your pocket. >> Did she take that from you guys? >> Come over here. >> So, >> come over here. We didn't have to go here. >> So, can you let go of my arm beautifully? >> It's too late now. >> Get the out of my bag, bro. >> Too late. >> She became extremely hostile when officers searched her bag. And what they found inside was certainly a reason why. >> Get out my bag. Get out my bag. Get out my bag. >> Check to see if that's stuff from 7-Eleven. It looks like stuff from 71. >> Yes, it's the [ __ ] 7-Eleven. >> Thank you very much. There's nothing to do there. It's so bro. What do you want to do with socks? Like I she almost was like I know the deal. This is what I'm going to do. >> Yeah. Like you'll see like even it was too male like me and your size. >> She was like in port and just ran out. And just to kind of give you just to kind of give you what she would have had to do before I show you this video. So, when I got like close by the door and I was looking like trying to find a shirt to match the uh pair of shoes, like to match the same color cuz my son already had the shoes. We was all trying to match. So, boom. By that time, I think a lady had came across me. you like, "Can I help you?" I was like, "No, I got everything like I'm I'm fine." >> Mhm. >> So when I was coming like towards the front going to bend and go like towards the right. >> That's when he came. He was like, "Where you going? Where you going?" I'm like, "What is you talking about?" >> And then that's when he started like trying to grab on me. So I jked him like, "What the fuck?" And then when I when I seen him like when he kind of like grabbed me, I did like this and I ran out the door. And like I was just telling him, "I seen y'all two park." Like when I got my lift, I seen y'all two parked over there. So I'm like, "You racially profiling me while I'm running?" Like, "You racially profiling me?" He was like, "Fuck that. [ __ ] that." Like while we was running. So I'm like, "What the fuck?" So I finally went like in the little door cuz I thought I seen like I thought that's why I had came in and looked for y'all. So I'm like, "I'm licking. I'm licking." Then I didn't see nobody. And then I'm like, "What you grabbing on me before I got the money to pay for my stuff? You just ran for no reason." I said, "Now you going to go down for racially profiling me." And then that was the end of it. So, you ran out of the store with the stuff, not paid for it. >> In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting. This case showed that denial and playing the victim could not erase clear evidence once actions were caught on camera. The truth spoke louder than any excuse. >> Gathering her stuff, >> drinking her drink, and now she's going to walk out. Okay, she's the market. >> Okay, well rest as of right now. >> On the 28th of January 2025, police approached a woman standing outside a shopping area after receiving reports that she was involved in a theft inside a store. Officers immediately took action to make sure no escape attempt could happen. >> All right. Face the fence, please. >> What's up? >> Okay, we can talk about it now. What's up? >> Yeah, I got you. Hold on. Give me one sec. >> Okay. Well, we can talk about it right now. >> Give me one sec. >> Oh, no. She gets her stuff like that. We're just going to go to my unit. >> I was following her because they said that she took my purse for the front cuz they let you make you make you do your stuff. So, I work my best. She like she took her back. So, I was following her like my bad. She wouldn't listen to me. I'm like, she >> Any weapons on you? Any knives? Anything like that? >> All right. I'm just going to pat you down real quick. Would you believe us if we said even the food she abandoned on the ground had been stolen, too? So, let the employees here lay out everything she had done. >> That's our $5 items. >> Oh, okay. >> And our $3 items. headphones, paper towels, >> paper, >> some of our Valentine stuff, food, opened a Coke, drank it, left it there. >> You still have it here? >> The Coke I just emptied and threw in the trash. >> Okay. You got that video footage? >> Yeah, absolutely. >> Can we pull it up? >> Yeah, we were just watching it. >> Oh, no worries. >> We wrapped around the building to think like maybe they left some of the stuff. Um the female in the pink jacket's claiming she paid for some Reese's peanut butter for one thing. >> Okay. All right. So not not worried about that thing. >> Yeah, she did pay for one things and those are their personal items that they left here. Try a bit. >> All right. It's the one It's the one in the red that walked out with everything. >> Okay. Not the one in the pink. >> No, but I mean she was they were together. >> Okay. >> Um So, she's acting right here. Hold on. >> Where'd it go? Why do they all look the same to me sometimes? Okay. >> There we go. >> Yeah. We're coming up and another officer was coming here with me and then he saw him down the street by the the blues. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. And then he she walks out our front door right about she's getting there. >> Oh no, she hasn't picked up all the bags yet. She's still gathering her stuff, >> drinking her drink. And now she's going to walk out with them. And her bag's right here. The other girl's bags right here. And there she is. The evidence of her theft along with the employees statements had already made everything crystal clear, hadn't it? But the disappointing part was that she never admitted to any of it and even came up with a story to deny the whole thing. >> Time to exercise these rights and not answer my questions or make any statements. Do you understand you? All right. So, you want to tell me what you guys were doing in store? >> I was looking around. I thought she she said I have a I got my my I guess her money. I don't know from the chicken's money every month. So I thought she was looking around as she seen the camera. We're looking around everything. I stayed stuck in the carts reading the cards, you know, and I was looking at the cards and I don't know what she was doing and everything and she was chat everything and then she's like, "What do you want?" I was like, "I went to recess and then she she got in the bag and then I said, "What are you doing?" She said, "I don't walk." I'm like, "Oh, I don't know." I walked back. >> So at no point, you didn't put anything in her bags. >> She told me what I wanted and I said I wanted recess, right? And that's all. And then I walked away and then she said, "We're going to go and she she ignored me." She went like that and then she said my purse and I started talking to the people. I was like, "Oh, I have nothing to do." I went like that. Like I have nothing to do. That's when I saw her and I got my recess and I went and pay for my rece. I walked and I told her, "Where's my bag?" She said, "She took your bag." I was like, "What do you mean she took my bag?" She grabbed your bag. So that's why I went after her. She took my bag and that's all. >> Take nothing on me. squirt. >> Okay. The reason you're asking is I did watch the video footage and I did see you put items into the bag that she was carrying. >> I didn't put bags in the bag, man. >> Okay. So, why would I see you wearing the same exact jacket you're wearing? Cuz they were on the floor. >> Wearing what? >> Wearing the same jacket that you're wearing. >> Mhm. >> She failed in her attempt to dump all the responsibility onto her accomplice. And at that point, officers began recovering the stolen merchandise to determine the total value of the damages. Okay. You have tights in I didn't realize she grabbed that much either. She went for it. >> She put her friend more. Her friend's definitely going. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. >> Oh, really? >> A little more. So, she she might be a minute. Maybe two days. Let me let me >> No worries. At least get her in real quick and then I think the other officer has the other female info. There you go. >> Perfect. Thank you. >> Yes. >> Back with the suspect, the woman still refused to admit to any of her actions, but her emotions at that moment were already speaking for her instead. Oh, >> I'm sorry. >> I don't I was right into the >> Okay. Well, as of right now, I'm just taking you for the warrant. Okay. All right. As of right now, as it stands with the video footage and everything, she's going to go with for the shoplifting. Okay. >> Do you know her? And like I said, I'm not taking you for the shop with you, but you do have to take my daughter to the hospital. Oh, >> I'm sorry, ma'am, but just got to handle your business and you'll be right out. Okay. All righty. Trying to open. >> All righty, ma'am. Can you step out real quick, please? Unit, you have any weapons on you? Anything that'll stick or poke me? Anything in your bra that needs to come out? >> I don't think so. >> Okay. Cuz you are going to be going to jail today. So, if anybody gets th you already know that's going to be another charge. Brenda Zamaripo was arrested on charges of retail theft and was also taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. Her accomplice was also charged with shoplifting. Surrounding yourself with people who commit crimes can easily drag you into the same consequences because once the evidence is there, denying responsibility will not erase your involvement. >> Careaker though, I do everything for him. >> This ain't about being heartless. Okay. >> No, I know that. >> This is going in the report. >> I'm caretaker. Sorry, >> you don't want to make this. >> On the 19th of May 2024, police received a call from Walmart reporting a theft that had occurred with the suspect identified as a 42-year-old woman who deliberately pushed an entire shopping cart filled with multiple unpaid items out of the store. This was what happened after police arrived at the scene. >> That's first. Yes, ma'am. Can you bring the person here without opening it, please? >> Do you mind just got rid of my um gloves? Do you have any extra? >> Thank you. >> Huh? Oh, never mind. Come here. All right. >> Obviously, the reason Hi. >> What's your name? >> Yeah. >> Did you all drive together? >> Yes. >> All right. Cool. I'm going to have him go hang out in the car when she doesn't need to be a part of it. >> Um, >> can you just grab his receipts? whatever he has. >> All right, cool. Start with that. Take the daughter and take her to the car. >> Okay. >> All right. Um, can you do a favor? Grab his phone number. That's it. And, uh, and then >> Thank you. >> So, it turned out she had committed her wrongdoing while out with her entire family. Yet, she showed no remorse as the police continued to find additional items inside her handbag. >> I'm going to give you the benefit of doubt. to be honest with me. >> I'm always going to be honest. I'm not going to lie. >> Is there anything on you in your bag? Anything else that's on pay for? >> There's probably something in my bag. >> Anything on you? >> No. >> Are you going to do a quick cut down? >> That's my face. >> That's cool. All right. Anything? No. Cool. Cool. >> So, can I go first? Sure. You said there's no paper. >> All right. That >> All right. This What else? Nothing else. >> Do you have ID? >> No, I didn't bring my hand. I can verify your credit card. >> Yeah. >> Hall 512. That's my room. Katrina. Sorry. Sorry. I don't know how I ended up with this tiny no looking thing. >> I couldn't that sometimes. >> All the evidence of the woman's crime was completely clear. Yet, she still seemed unable to grasp it. Even at this point, she continued asking naive questions about whether she was actually going to be charged or not. Um, >> I don't like to lie to people. Yes. >> Why? >> Okay. >> Can you please give me like a notice look? >> No. >> Can you get all >> This is the thing, man. >> I was going to be honest with you guys. >> I was honest. >> I know you were, which is that's also going to be a factor. >> That's going to be a factor. >> You know where their car is. >> Why do I have to go to jail? My baby's in the car. >> Please, sir. The woman tried to make herself look pitiful by begging through claims about caring for her family, but in reality, it was far from the truth. Police quickly began noticing signs suggesting her condition may have been connected to drug use. >> Ask you a question. I want you to be honest with me. >> I will. >> Are you Are you a drug addict? >> I'm a ex drug addict. I'm an exuser. I'm a recovering addict. >> I know because I saw your picture and >> No, I know that. I'm a recovery. I go the method clinic now. >> My baby. >> She's going to search you. I take care of them >> because the fact that you know about a notice that appeared isn't >> I know I've been in do me a favor. >> From the way she spoke, she clearly showed familiarity with the police process, proving this was far from her first encounter with crime. But this time, officers had to fully explain the seriousness of the offense she had committed. >> Hey, but this is But you got to stop doing this type of stuff. >> I've been in trouble in a long face. This is not personal. >> I know. >> I'm not mad at you. was not personal, but but but the good circumstances of them being at home like I take care of them. Sir, >> he said he's working on it. >> Want begging you, sir. >> She was ultimately charged with petty theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after stealing nearly $185 worth of merchandise while shopping with her family. Her repeated offenses proved that ignoring small crimes only leads to bigger consequences, especially when your own family is forced to witness the downfall caused by your actions. Next, the woman's lies collapsed as she was forced to confront the truth. >> You don't want to go nowhere. >> In the first degree, the forgery is is is felony. >> Yes. >> All right. Go ahead and face the car for me. On the 7th of January 2024, police were dispatched to Burger King after the manager there discovered that the cashier had been stealing money from the cash register. When approached, the female suspect displayed unusual behavior as if being caught had caused her mental state to become unstable. Want to talk here? That's fine. You don't want to go nowhere. No. >> Okay, that's fine. Um, who you on the phone with? Oh my my roommate. >> Your roommate? Okay. Okay. So, our detective is going to come talk to you. This is the advice that I'm going to share with you. This is the second time that Clay's name's come up with counterfeit money. Um >> Oh my god. >> He purchased a a moped from somebody with fake money. >> I'm not getting arrested. >> Once you talk to the detective, okay, I'll be honest with you. He's gonna be more interested in clay as far as the money portion of it, but the theft from the Burger King. There's not much I can do about that. >> I'm gonna read you, Miranda. >> That means I'm getting arrested. >> No, it just means that at this point, >> you feel like you're getting arrested. >> You feel like you're getting arrested and I'm questioning you. So, >> at this point, you're detained. You're not free to leave and I want to question you about the investigation that you have quite a bit of working knowledge of which is the only reason I'm reading you a random so you're not under arrest. The woman blamed a friend of hers claiming that he had given her counterfeit money without her knowing. However, based on earlier comparisons and evidence, the police verified the actual truth. >> Tell me about he he owed you money. He owed you $150. He actually ow owed me money for a a bike that he probably got from somebody else, but I never I never um I never >> I never got the um He never got the bike. >> Okay. All right. So, he came here. How much did he give you? >> I didn't even count it. It was It was supposed to be 100. It >> was supposed to be 100. So why would you give him change though if he owed you 150? >> I gave him change for for the um food. >> Food? Yeah. >> So he gave you $100 and I'll pay 20s. >> Yeah. >> And one of those 20s you used to pay for food and gave him change with that. >> So then you did give him some change for whatever food he ordered or something. Okay. However, you then took you lifted the cash register back up and you took a different set of $20 bills >> and you then counted those bills. >> Mhm. >> And gave it back to him. >> Mm-m. >> Yes, you did. >> No. Oh, I didn't. >> Yes, you did. >> I didn't count I didn't care. Only thing I gave back to him was the change. No, I you gave him change and then you lifted the drawer back up, grabbed another stack of 20s from the other side of which you put it at. So, it looks like you knew you were putting the fake 20s on one side, taking real 20s out from the other. You counted it and then gave it back to them. >> Oh, sorry. I didn't do that. I didn't do that. I I only took I I I put the money in there and then I took gave him the change for the for the burger. That's not what I saw on camera. >> The woman once again denied her actions, but her behavior only further raised suspicion that she was lying. >> So, let's go. I'm just telling you exactly what I saw on the video is not adding up to what you're telling me. And the math doesn't add up either because I I know how much money in counterfeit bills was. >> I did not know that that that money was counterfeit. That's all I'm saying. I did not know that the money was count. >> Right. But it's it's just hard to believe that because like I said, if if he you're saying he owed you $150, he showed up with $100, paid for a burger, you gave him change. If he owed you $150, you would have you would have taken all of that money because he still owes you money at that point. He still owes youund or 30 something dollars. No. >> So, if he's here for the purpose of giving you money he owes you, >> it doesn't make sense that it's ever going to go near the cash register >> because I was at the register when when he gave it to me. That's why. >> Yeah, but no, but you put the money in the cash register. The money that he's here to to give you that he supposedly owes you. You put it in the cash register and then on top of that you gave him money from the cash register from the other side. So different $20 bills cuz I can see it in the camera. You put it in on with your left hand over here and when you open up you take it from the right side and you count it and you give it to them. So if you're telling me what you told me earlier is that you took the $80. Not only did You retrieve fake money from Clay, give back real money. You took $80. On top of all that, >> she used her own panic to avoid answering the police's questions. Shortly after, a detective was called to the scene and the value of the loss was also clarified. [snorts] >> So, this one transaction that we're talking about where the money came back from the bank account was how much? >> 180. >> 180. It was how much? >> $180. >> $180. That was fake. [laughter] >> So, >> and it was definitely the same >> counting the bills from him because they were all the same serial number, same copies of the same $20 bill. So, it wasn't a random event that it was it was 180 coming out of Clay's hands. >> And the problem that we're having that he's having is that transactions on video. So we could see what you did as far as putting money in the till and taking other money out and giving, you know, giving it back to them doesn't doesn't equal up to the transaction of that for the food. So clearly you are involved in the theft of actual money. Okay? So what we're trying to do is give you an opportunity to talk to us and be honest with us about what's going on. so we could focus on what's really going on and who's really behind all this. No, you're fine. >> Okay. >> With each detail that was uncovered, the pressure caused the woman's lies to fall apart. At that point, she admitted that she knew it was counterfeit money. >> You knew that the money was counterfeit that he gave you. >> Not when he gave it. >> Well, then why did you take other money in lie of the money he gave you? I don't know, sir. I didn't know the money was counterfeit. No, I didn't. >> Well, then why would you swap it over? >> I don't know. >> Cuz you just told me that you you took it cuz he owed it to you, but you didn't take the money he gave you. You took the score's money and left and then gave them his money. >> So, that's a transaction right there. A switcheroo that you just basically told me you did. And now you're trying to tell me you didn't count. Have you been arrested for this type of stuff before? >> Never. >> Anything? >> Um, am I have I been arrested? >> Do you have a history? >> Have I been history? >> I'm on pre-trial now. >> For what? >> Or um uh possession of XD pills. >> Okay. Drugs. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Nothing like this before. >> Jonathan, >> how long have you known Jonathan >> or Clay? Oh, >> a year. >> Not even a year. Probably. >> The woman's actions now appeared conclusive. At that point, the police made a decision regarding the charges she would face. >> All right. You be placed under arrest for death by taking in full of first degree. Okay. >> What? >> What? >> Well, the theft is obvious. We We just went over this. Okay. We just explained everything and where we're at and everything. So you go ahead and step out of the booth out. >> I'll get your phone. >> No, no, no, no, no. [laughter] You're fine. You're fine. >> Okay. I call my friend and tell me that I'm going back. >> Um once you get once I get in the car cuz you're not on probation, so you'll get a >> charges. you charging me with >> uh theft by taking misdemeanor and um forgery in the first degree. >> The forgery is is is felony. >> Yes. >> All right. Go ahead and face the car for me. >> Separate your feet. >> Please don't do that. Is it way to happen? >> Got to talk to your lawyer and whatnot about it. Hold on. I got to patch you down. You got nothing in your pockets? Oh man. [laughter] No. The woman was formally charged with theft by taking in first-degree forgery for her involvement in handling and redistributing counterfeit money. Trying to shift blame onto others does not erase personal responsibility, especially when evidence contradicts the explanation. >> [music]
