[Music] [Music] hi I'm Lieutenant Ben Kina with the Mesa Police Department Traffic Division before stepping off the curb practice these safety rules of the road when crossing the street use the crosswalk if there is no crosswalk cross at the intersection remember you have the right of way while in the crosswalk if you cross anywhere other than a crosswalk cars have the right of way and you will be at risk of injury drivers expect pedestrians Crossing at intersections not in the middle of the street at the crosswalk use the push button to activate the timer signal you can start to cross once the signal displays a green walk symbol look left right and check for traffic in all directions especially for cars turning right on red if the red don't walk symbol begins flashing continue to cross the street until you reach the other side do not stop or delay inside the crosswalk never start crossing the street if the flashing or the solid red don't walk symbol is visible remember cross on green not in [Applause] between as population and traffic volume increase the Mesa Police Department's primary goal is looking at ways to improve roadway safety however you can do your part in assisting us with this very important task please follow and Obey all traffic and safety rules of the road [Music] [Music]
