That's funny. >> HUH? WHAT? FUNNY. WHAT? You were hurting me. >> What the This is crazy. >> Wow. All that I just bought. >> That's crazy. I'm getting arrested for buying something. I'm getting arrested for buying something. >> Arrested cuz you're attacking somebody. >> Attacking literally attack me. He put his whole hand on me. >> Hey, what's in this pocket? >> WHAT'S IN MY POCKET? WHY AM I getting arrested? Right after that, the officers returned to the store to speak with the employee involved in the incident. It seemed that the reason behind the disturbance was also quite serious. >> Hey there, can you break this? >> Maybe you have the other magazine. >> Yeah. >> Let's just give this to you or is this for us? What do >> you mean like break it? Break it? >> No, like pop it for an ice pack. >> So none of this is paid for? >> I don't know. >> No, I just ran through the receipt. Oh, none of that is paid for this. >> Oh, this top part. >> Okay. Are you able to reimburse her for that? >> Um, aggravated assault. >> Is it a robber >> or aggravated theft? >> Yeah. >> Depending on Was was he were you trying to stop her from stealing merchandise? Yeah, I think you were. >> So, so you saw her scanning at the at the self checkout. >> Yeah. >> And then you said that can you everything but I think can I see your receipt? I asked you angry. He asked for receipt and then you asked her, "Can I see your receipt?" And she said, "And then she started hitting you out of nowhere. Just grabbing you, hitting you." >> I guess I am. Why you hit me? >> Yeah, we we do aggravated theft. And um >> back outside, a woman believed to be a relative of the suspect appeared visibly upset about what had happened, which only made the situation more tense. She's literally coming a month ago. The baby is right in her house. The baby's mad. Everybody's sad, but everybody's just not You don't have to feel anybody that like Why you doing all that to her? I'm just saying. >> Why she said step back there? >> Step back there. >> That's why your hand's bleeding. Cuz you're a [ __ ] [ __ ] >> Nothing back there. She's not hurting anybody here. So, as long as she stays right while you're trying to size her upurized woman like >> murderers or something. >> Hey, this is private property. You can leave. You guys are >> I don't need to. I'm here for a reason. What are you here for? >> My sister. >> No reason. Correct. >> Cuz y'all are murderers. >> No reason. >> Murderers. >> Can we have your badge number? What's your badge number? >> I already have everything else on recording and I'm going to take a picture of that cuz we're This is exactly why we're doing I'm about to do a lawsuit now because of all this. We were trying not to do that because of that. >> His hand is Yeah, exactly. because he's a you ain't going to fight nobody else. You ain't fight no man without no badge on. >> But the woman acted completely arrogant, insisting that no wrongdoing had occurred at all. She even began showing clear disrespect toward the officers. I CAN DO ALL THAT. YOU ain't I'm a CNA. I can do it. What about >> I'm a CNA. I can do it. >> I went to school for that. >> Yeah, exactly. Ma'am, take a step back. >> No, he's coming towards me. >> You take one step back. >> I walk up. He walks back. >> Ma'am, right now. This is your last chance. Take one step back right now. >> Because of what the suspect had done earlier, the officers had to communicate with her through the patrol car window. However, she still insisted on presenting herself as the victim and framing the situation in her own way. over to you. They're okay now. >> He said they're okay. He told me they're okay. Now you're asking are they okay? I'm talking about the man that touched me. >> He's not. >> Yep. Right now you are. Yes. >> Right now. What do you mean? >> You're You're the only one being under arrest at this time. Hey, real quick. Do you want Taylor to take the stuff you bought? >> Why are you guys asking me to take things? >> Well, I got to hear it from you cuz I'm about to hand it over to her if if you want that. >> Oh my god. I literally said it seven times. You guys are breaking my wrist. Breaking my wrist. >> Is that a yes? Do you want Taylor to take your belongings? >> I need to know. >> Sir, can you arrest the man that touched me first? >> I I'm the guy who arrested you. >> I know. Can you arrest the man that touched me first? >> There was no assault that took place with him. >> What assault? >> You assaulted him. >> How? Cuz I tried. >> Let's answer my question. Do you want her to take your stuff? >> Okay, that's fine. >> Let's get uh All right. Let's get the going for him. Do you need to use my card? >> Yeah. The woman was ultimately charged with theft, assault causing bodily injury, and interference with official acts. It shows that once aggression and resistance are introduced, the situation can no longer be resolved as a simple misunderstanding, but instead leads to serious legal consequences for everyone involved. The suspects believe they didn't deserve arrest despite their obvious wrongdoing. >> Put you in handcuffs. >> Get your man, baby. You're like, "Damn, kid." >> Um, so I figured to tell you, but I 100% know that cuz I saw it. >> On February 4th, officers were dispatched to Georgia Square Mall after receiving a report of a couple stealing an adult toy along with batteries, which they concealed in a bag. Officers quickly arrived on scene and the following events unfolded. >> Hey. >> Hey there. >> So, what we got going on? >> Ninja. Hey, look. Everything went too bad. >> All right. Well, let's go ahead and get everything that belongs to them out of here. Everything is. Everything is. We're going to check. >> There's a lady that went to the bathroom as well. >> A lady went to the bathroom. What's she wearing? Oh, hello. >> She's right here. >> I'm sorry. >> You going to just get everything out that belongs to Spencer? >> No. I thought you >> Yeah, we don't have anything else. >> Okay. >> We don't. >> Anything else from anywhere else? >> No. >> No. Just our stuff. Personal stuff. Okay. function. >> You want to go check the bathroom? >> Yeah. I don't know if there was it was that bag, but I do know that's where my step was. >> Well, then somewhere else. >> No, that's mine. >> You have a receipt for it? >> Um, I do. >> And that's from um where actually do you mind if I stick this in the wire real quick? So, the power >> that's Yeah. >> Is that where the receipt is? Is in there? >> Yes, cuz I use the uh Google bag. >> That's fine. All those are closed. We live it all day. >> Okay. >> Up to this point, the woman had not admitted to shoplifting and the items officers were checking had actually been purchased. This shifted suspicion toward her possibly hiding merchandise while she was in the restroom earlier. She >> Did you drop something in the bathroom? >> I did not. Oh, I need to drop it. >> I need to drop. >> I promise you I don't drop. >> Okay. I I'm just asking. >> So, I don't know why she just put that stuff there. Um, so I figured to tell you, but I 100% know that's cuz I saw one in that trash, but I didn't put my hands in it cuz I don't have clothes. >> Sir, >> hold on. >> Hold on. I did drop some. Can you tell? >> Yeah. Hold on. Just Just hang out for me here. >> Clear right away with my money and everything. >> I got you. Do you think you dropped it in the bathroom? >> That's what she's talking about. >> Well, they're probably going to bring it in here. Just calm down. It's okay. >> I just thought about it's right there on the on the uh the little silver bathroom thing in the bathroom. Leave. >> There's three people in there. Just that they'll be back in just a second. I guarantee you that's what they found. Okay. >> For shoplifting. >> Yeah. >> They'll probably press charges for it. Spencer's usually does. >> I don't want to touch it. >> I just don't want to touch. >> I'm going to just spread this open just to be sure. Okay. >> You got your IDs with you? >> Um, I do not. I have >> Okay, there we go. Sir, you have your ID? I was telling all my information when y'all came. >> Yeah. Yeah. He he told me. >> Additionally, officers quickly recognized the woman as somewhat familiar, suggesting this was not his first involvement in theft related behavior. >> My car. >> Okay. How many times have you been convicted for shoplifting? >> Only like twice. >> Cuz the last time we picked you up, I think it was a couple times. >> Now, the last time Detective Franco got you, you had been >> Franco. What? Who detect Franco? >> He's the one who works all the shopliftings. Oh, but I've never been to this mall. >> Can you just give me a description? Height and >> weight. >> Looks like he does have a mustache. No, >> me. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Warrant for failure to pick up for something. >> Oh, no. They gave me one. >> Did you get a port? >> They gave me extension though. >> We're checking right now. drove. >> Well, it looks like if you do have one, you'll be taking care of that court case a lot sooner than you plan. So, >> I got to go. >> If they confirm it, then yeah. But, >> man, this >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> On both suspects faces, there was no sign of remorse. Partly because the woman had her own justification for her actions. Unfortunately for them, reality did not align with their expectations. >> I would not think I would have up to something. >> Okay. What was your question? >> Like I'm saying like I didn't walk out with anything. >> All you have to do is conceal. >> What you mean conceal? >> Put things into a bag is all you have to do. >> I didn't have anything. All I'm saying I wasn't concealing anything. >> It's it's the it's the intent to to take it. Temporary. >> All right. So give me just a second. So they are going to want to take you. Okay. So I'm going to go and put you in handcuffs. Get your baby. >> Okay. Do you want me to give you all my money? >> I don't trust it. I don't know the hell, man. >> Come around to where the security office is. >> Okay. I will blind you out, >> man. >> Let me ask you this. So, as you know that you you going to go. They going to search you. What? What you got on you? Is it anything that's going to stick or poke me or hurt me? >> I don't know. >> You don't know? You don't know if you have anything? >> I don't know. They get out of my pocket, man. Damn, man. Come on. Is it Is it in this pocket? >> I don't know. Get out of my pocket. I got all my pocket, man. >> We're going to have all charges. >> Okay. Mhm. >> Just have a seat, Ricky. Okay. >> The man was successfully placed in handcuffs. And of course, the woman soon face the exact same outcome. >> Hides or anything? >> 11. Central need criminal histories on both. >> Is anyone have to pay for this stuff? >> It's too late for that. What you need to do is probably stop shoplifting. All right. Cuz you're not really good at it. >> And also, >> Huh? I said after you called me racist >> going to ask a favor. >> No, it wasn't a favor. >> Okay. Sorry. >> All right. So, I'm going to You can still smoke a cigarette with handcuffs on if that's if that's going to happen. Okay. >> Do what now? >> Put in the front. I'm pregnant anyway. >> Can you put them in the front? My hands. >> That's why I'm going to do I'm going to do two. I'm going to do two. It's going to be a lot more comfortable putting them in the back. Okay. >> I can hold them in the front though cuz I'm high convicted. No. No. >> I got to get through her history cuz I don't know what all she's been convicted of. >> Okay. >> I ain't know you had all that open, man. >> Since you'll be transporting, do you want front or back with her? She does have an ankle that's messed up. >> She She could fall. >> Okay. Here. Go in. Put your hands like you're praying like this. >> Oh god. >> Not going to get no trouble, are you? >> No, I promise you I'm not. No, I'm not even like that. >> It was clear she cared more about her dignity than her wrongdoing. even claiming pregnancy to avoid being handcuffed while continuing to give unreasonable excuses for her actions. >> At least minimum one year. >> I don't just do it just do it to your throat. I have an active addiction. >> No, I and I get that. I'm just letting you know you don't need that at 22 years old. >> Don't need that. >> So, just I I get it's an addiction. I I've met a bunch of people that say that. >> So, I'm about to go. But what I'm going to tell y'all is if either one of y'all give him a hard time on the way to the jail, >> we going to be seeing each other again. >> Okay. I'm just saying I don't want to be pulling up to him when he pulled over on the side of the road. >> Can't even get your helmet. You got >> five pending here in Clark County right since I didn't know, baby. >> So it it's it's lifetime. It it don't matter. I told you you need to stop shoplifting. >> But I'm saying that you know what shoplifting is because you've been arrested for it. >> I would. >> So you're you're not you're not ignorant to it or naive of me. You know what's going on, man. This >> Okay. >> All right. >> Okay. >> I wouldn't be at home right now, but you wanted to show me a picture. >> No, no, no, no, no. We went and got a hotel room first, but then we came here go get some food, Chinese food. But then Spencer popped up and I like, "Oh, Lord." Finally, they were charged with shoplifting with a guilty plea, possession of controlled substances, sentenced to 90 days of confinement, and 12 months of probation. Actions driven by excuses and denial only deepen the consequences. Taking responsibility early is the only way to break the cycle. Next, let's meet this woman who became even more furious after being caught red-handed. >> I don't do this. >> Why do I have a warning? >> I'm like, wait a minute. Wait a minute. I got stuff at the home, too. That's all my stuff. >> On the 28th of June, 2024, officers approached a woman after suspecting her involvement in a theft at Kroger, where she had taken items and walked out without paying. When confronted, she gave confusing and inconsistent excuses. >> Heather, what happened? What do I mean? I got cold on you. >> Ah, >> I got cold on you from Kroger. Oh, I had the tissue underneath >> and uh I I had a a paper towel >> and I put it on top >> and then I forgot and I woke back. I said, "Oh, I forgot how much it did." Then I had the tissue underneath. >> Uh-huh. >> I give it back. >> Okay. That's not their version of it. >> What's their version? I was only in there for 5 minutes. >> Okay. Do you have a receipt for all this stuff? >> What's up? >> Did you take anything from Kroger? >> I've been had this. Yeah. Juice. I've been had this. >> You what? >> I've been had this in my cart. You already had that? >> Yeah, I had this in there in my cart and this in my cart. >> Okay. You have an ID with you? >> No. >> What's your name? >> Huh? >> What's your name? >> Why? >> Cuz we were calling on you, your exact person, for a theft in progress from Kroger. >> From the tissue. I gave the tissue back to her. >> Well, you took it out of the store. So, that's a theft. So, you can either cooperate. Listen to me. You can either cooperate with us or we'll take you to jail. All right? So, give them your name. >> I'm cooperating. I did not take the tissue out. I gave it back to >> So, regardless of whether you gave it back to them or not, it's still theft. You still took it? >> I didn't take it out the store. >> Okay. Took it past points of sale. Okay. >> I have a paper paper towel. >> Explanations are fine for after. Right now, I need your name. The woman claimed she was innocent because she had returned the items to the store, thereby indirectly admitting that taking unpaid goods had occurred. She attempted to find her ID for the officers, but did so in a careless. >> I was at a lot of store. >> Where do you live? >> Why don't jail? >> Oh, no. Why do I ask you if I want to go to jail for where I live? >> Because of what they've told us so far out there that you stole all this stuff in this bag. Okay. I'm asking for where you live. >> I asked where you live. >> Makes me think you left and you're hiding out over here on the other side of a fence. Well, it looks to me like >> I'm waiting for the bus. I've been waiting. I was waiting for the bus. I ain't trying to hide. I'm sitting down. It's hot out here. >> I don't need to be yelled at. I don't need to be doing that cuz I know I gave their tissue back. I had a bowl of tissue underneath and I had a paper towel and I placed it and I forgot the tissue. >> Well, we have a huge theft problem back. Okay. If you didn't steal anything, we'll be out of your hair here in just a few minutes. >> Okay. >> But while we're doing our investigation, you do have to provide us the information we're asking for. Okay. >> That's that's why when you giving us attitude back and we got start with you, you have to give us the information we're asking for. Okay. All right. >> Yeah. 393. >> What's that telephone number for you, Miss Smith? >> I don't have a telephone number. >> No telephone. about home address. >> No information was provided as she had no intention of handing it over and she even began complaining that all of this was happening just because of a roll of paper. >> Why would you identify it regardless of how it shakes out? >> But you hand me all this information over paper tower that I gave back. >> Okay. >> I was in there twice. I went over there and I came back. I went to go get a tissue and I gave it back. Please confirm. I drop your stuff. >> Why you grabbing me? >> You have a warrant for arrest? >> No, I don't. You got a warrant. >> Why do I have a warrant? I'm like, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Relax. >> If you don't relax, I will charge you with resisting. If you do not relax, I will charge you with resisting. Let go. Let go. >> When I tell you, I tell you to cooperate. This is not relaxing. >> I have a warrant for my arrest. >> Yes, you do. >> When I When they ran your social, they just told me you had a warrant. All right. All this could have been avoided except for the warrant. You just >> Why do we know I have a warrant? I don't know. I haven't been able to get that far cuz you haven't been straight with me. >> I mean, you didn't let me know. >> Don't move. >> You're doing it too fast. >> You're moving around. That's why. Stop moving. I'm trying to loosen them up. >> You Okay, wait a minute. Now relax. >> I have relaxed. >> I'm about ready to put you on the ground. >> Y'all always do. Hey, I broke my arm before. >> Relax. >> I broke my arm before. >> Now I can get a thumb in there. Now >> look, let me put my arms together because I haven't been through this. Okay, now let my arm go. She admitted that this was not her first encounter with the police. And because of that behavior, the officers began to grow suspicious of the items she was carrying in her bag. >> That's all my stuff. That's all mine. >> Based on your reaction and how you're behaving towards us, I'm going to say you probably stole it. I haven't been doing this job >> in school. >> I've only been doing this job for a few days. I've only been doing for a few days, but I'm going to say this shit's stolen. >> All right, relax. You find if I find a receipt, I'll be more than happy to tell you I'm I'm an idiot. Where's the receipt at? >> Not that bag. >> This bag? >> Yeah. >> This bag? >> Yeah. >> All right. >> No, Metank TJ Maxx, too. We got several tags. >> There ain't no receipt in here. >> No, he bought that for me. >> Steal. >> Yeah, he went in the car. He bought that. That's his stuff. >> Who's he? >> Yeah. >> Who? >> That's my boyfriend's stuff. >> Okay. All right. Well, we'll check on it. >> You've been out stealing. I'm not a fool. You act like I'm an idiot. >> I'm not acting like you're idiot. >> All right. Well, you are. >> No, I'm not. >> You're You've been out stealing today. >> I just seen those are my head days. >> All right. What What are they looking at? >> I couldn't hear. >> They're wanting to know how much products you've got. >> We got all kinds of stuff from >> We got all kinds of meat and frozen stuff, some cereal, some juice, some tea. We got fell off. >> And you threw toilet paper at him. So I'll just charge you with the robbery. >> You want to cooperate? >> Throw toilet paper at them. I had toilet paper under >> tossed it at him. To her. >> My guess is to get away. >> No, I took the toilet paper down back down the road. >> All right. >> Down the aisle. >> Well, you're going to get charged with theft, too. You can't produce a receipt. The officers became convinced that she had committed theft and even the items she carried were treated as stolen. While her excuses only deepened the suspicion that she was a repeat offender. >> It's all that TJ Maxx stuff. >> This all is. Yeah. >> No, that's mine. >> It's all got fresh TJ Maxx tags on it. We don't call it TJ Maxx stuff in it. >> Usually when I give something to somebody, I usually don't give them stuff with tags on it. >> BJ, he just came out. That's mine. That's oil from his >> He didn't come out with TJ Maxx bags when he bought all this stuff from TJ Maxx. He had a bag, but he gave me mine and he left. That's mine. >> I got stuff at the home, too, with categories. That's all my stuff. >> And that's my stuff, too. >> Okay. Well, that stuff's not right now in your stuff. >> That's either going back to the store or it's going in our property until you can prove ownership. >> Nice. >> Let's go. Have to see this quality. We need to hold on to that up front. Do you have anything hanging? >> Oh, no. Put that back in my bag. Just sit it back cuz I never get my stuff back. I never I never get my phone or my tablet back. Put it Just put it in my bag and keep it all together. Okay. So, it's not staying on your phone. >> It's not staying on your >> The situation did not end there as she still refused to accept what was happening, making the process of escorting her into the patrol car extremely difficult. >> Look at my shoes. >> They go with my bag. Why did you have to cut my bag? >> Sit in the car. Sit in the car. >> Get off of me. >> Get in the goddamn car. >> Now I see why you got thrown to the ground. >> Yeah. Well, throw me to the ground then. >> Get in the car. >> Get off of me. Get in the car. >> Don't kick me. Here. Yep. Get in the car. >> My shoe. >> Nope. Get in your knees in the car. I will get your shoe. >> I'M IN HERE ALREADY. I'M IN HERE. >> STOP MOVING. >> You just got INSULT ON. >> I DON'T CARE. >> YOU ALWAYS GOT TO ASSAULT. Give me my shoe. >> You don't get to tell us what to do. Get your foot in the car. Get your foot in the car. >> My shoe. >> It's going in the trunk. Get your foot in the car. I'm done arguing. I didn't put any guard to make you do this. I'll help you with this [ __ ] Thank you. >> They confirmed your warrant. So, you're also under arrest for that. >> What? For the warrant? >> Yeah, your warrant. >> You already said that, but I was asking you what for what? When was the warrant? >> I hadn't had a chance to talk to dispatch or look at my computer for that cuz you were being kind of a pain. >> Who cares now? Y'all were being a pain. He was being a pain to me. Yeah. I treat people how they treat me. I >> I stopped out and talked to you just nicely. >> I know. It wasn't about you. >> All right. >> When he came up, he was pressing me the wrong way. that >> well if you did wrong you got to get you end up with >> I don't mean treat me wrong if I did wrong I do I pay the price for the cop but don't walk up to me like you go >> she was charged with misdemeanor theft and obstructing official business lying and resisting only makes a bad situation worse taking responsibility early can prevent minor offenses from turning into serious legal consequences next woman only made her situation worse by piling on even MORE OFFENSES >> GET OUT OF GET OUT OF CROWD. TASER. TASER. TASER. >> You are under arrest. >> Why? >> That's a double question. >> On the 24th of March, 2025, officers were dispatched after receiving reports of a woman with an active warrant. Upon arrival, she attempted to flee, throwing the entire situation into immediate chaos. >> HANDS, GET ON THE GROUND. GET OUT OF THE GROUND. TASER. TASER. TASER. >> TASER. TASER. TASER. >> NO. NO. I got her. I got >> I GOT HER. I GOT HER. >> Don't taser. DON'T TASER. DON'T TASER. >> You are under arrest. >> Why? >> Why? >> For what? >> THAT'S A DOUBLE QUESTION. >> SHE'S YES. Go back to the car. Watch the car. >> For what? >> FOR WHAT? WHAT DID YOU JUST DO? >> WELL, I JUST CRASHED the car. >> YEAH, BECAUSE YOU'RE STUPID. THAT'S WHY. What are you looking to attack coming at me for? >> You have warrants for your arrest, young lady. Number one. Number two, when you see a police officer, you don't flee. And I don't even know if you don't have a license. So that's why you're in handcuffs. Okay. >> Hold on. Let me double lock them. Get this one. >> Yeah, I did. All right. Can you just stay over there for a second? >> Hey, stop yelling. >> We're going to take the car anyway. So, it doesn't >> Yeah. Stop yelling if you if you if Listen to me. I'll put you on the ground very fast. >> Why? >> Stop yelling. You're under arrest. You're not going to be yelling in public. You got me? >> Yeah. >> You be cool. They'll treat you cold. >> Officers successfully apprehended the suspect, but after everything she had done, she showed no remorse, prompting police to issue firm warnings about her behavior. >> No, no, no. >> No. No. What? >> No. No. >> Young lady, you're not going to dictate what happens. You understand? Okay, sir. >> You are not in control and you are not in charge. >> Okay. >> I know it was a little bit much, but it's all done. No hard feelings, okay? But again, as long as you act like a young lady, an adult, they'll treat you as such. Okay? But the minute you get out of control, you're going to get treated like that. Okay? Zero tolerance. You understand me? >> Yes, sir. >> All right. I appreciate that. Thank you. Cuz you did some damage to this gentleman's nice truck. Go ahead and start EMS. Reference this female. She appears to be allergic to handcuffs. Sit up. Despite having an active warrant, the woman did not stop engaging in wrongdoing. And everything became clear when officers searched her vehicle. Hey. Uh, did you see a black long sleeve shirt here that says USA and white letters on the front? C is looking for it cuz I guess she just did a theft at Walmart video. >> So black. Okay. >> Black long sleeve shirt. >> Okay. >> With USA and white letters. >> All right. I don't know what they saw with her coming. >> I'm not sure if she bought him or they actually >> So, um, do that. Let me get this guy's information so I can give him his for the crash. In the end, the woman was charged with multiple serious offenses, including possession of cocaine, trafficking fentanyl, possession of marijuana, multiple counts of possessing controlled substances without a prescription, trafficking amphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting an officer without violence, driving with a suspended license, leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, and operating an unregistered vehicle. Continuing to engage in illegal behavior while already being wanted only deepens the consequences. And resisting or denying the truth will only make the situation far worse when the evidence inevitably catches up. >> I can't I can't. followers that they were in the >> on the 2nd of June 2025, police responded to a report from a Walmart store that they had detained a 33-year-old female suspect for shoplifting there. Additional charges include resisting an officer with violence after the situation escalated during the attempted arrest. What begins as a theft case can turn into multiple felony charges if the suspect chooses to fight instead of comply. Resistance not only leads to more serious criminal exposure, but also forces officers to escalate control measures, making the outcome significantly worse than the original offense. Next, this woman pulled even more tricks. >> My stomach was just in an accident. Of course, I'm having a bad day. I'm a little white girl, so you guys don't care that you're ruining my kid. My kid now. >> On the 24th of March, 2026, police received a report from Target about a woman suspected of previous shoplifting returning to the store. This time, employees watched her much more closely. She casually pushed an empty shopping cart into the store and wandered through the electronic section as if nothing was wrong. Even with employees nearby, she acted completely relaxed, chatting and laughing with them naturally. Soon after, she filled her cart with merchandise and took advantage of a moment when staff walked away, pushing the cart toward the exit like nothing had happened. A loss prevention officer quickly stopped her before she could leave. Despite the obvious theft alarm and confrontation, she refused to admit anything and instead began yelling, accusing employees of racism. Even after police arrived on scene, she immediately tried to portray herself as the victim. >> Absent move over there. Don't be coming up to me like that. Please >> don't come up to me like that. Go over there. >> Oh, you have the kill. >> So, what? >> Um, she has multiple items in her cart. >> But did she actually steal them? Let's go outside. >> That's what I was trying to do, but then he gave me like, "Oh, now you're not going to buy anything." I was like, >> "No, I was like I was in a rush." You know what I mean? >> Does she pass the points of sale and everything? >> With the items. >> I got right there. But it was my Let's go and immediately. Let's go. >> Okay. So, you threat me. Can you just at least change? >> No, I'm not doing nothing. >> She didn't bring my personal property. The woman thought the police did not know what happened, so she tried paying for the items to act innocent. But moments later, the situation completely changed when officers took a different action. >> My Apple Watch. >> Put that back in there. >> Oh, I don't get an apology. >> Put that back in there. >> No, of course I don't. Cuz I'm >> Put that back in there. >> Right. >> Put that back in there. >> Right. No apology. You were wrong. >> Let's go. Come on. >> I'm not doing anything. >> Come on. Come on. >> Come on. Um not only that before that I I presented myself to let her know like hey I've been watching you for a while um you um you escalated the situation. She was in the back room where Tamer was only she's um and she was back there um saying she was looking for milk or something. Anyways, um when she went to go walk out, I went to stop her. Um she didn't comply and she went back to subcheck out and started creating an entire scene saying she didn't mean to walk out with the merchandise. Um and then that's when I reached out to you guys cuz it was obviously starting to escalate and she started getting very very >> back with the woman. She escalated her victim act even further by suddenly crying to gain sympathy. >> So you want like the long story or short story? I have her own video. >> Don't matter to me. >> Okay. Show us both. >> All right. >> She was charged with petty theft, disorderly conduct, and resisting an officer. Lesson: Constant lies and victim playing only made the situation worse instead of helping her avoid the consequences. Worse, the woman also lost her job as a result of the incident. Next, the woman tried to rob the bank, believing a relative had been kidnapped. >> They said they weren't going to hold they have a memo. Okay. I I don't want to go to jail or anything. >> On the 26th of November 2025, police received a report that a bank had detained an elderly woman for alleged bank robbery conduct. Upon arriving at the scene, the suspect in a panicked state immediately explained the reason behind her actions. >> Sweetie, tell me tell me what's going on. Why why are we here today? >> My is my uh husband. Um I don't know what's really going on. All I know they said they were going to hold them and until I get the money that was owed to them. They were calling through on my phone, but I couldn't still not was able to get through with anyone. >> Do you have your phone with you? Is this your phone? >> No. No. Under pressure as a mother, she had created this situation instead of calling the police for help. And at this time, she had also continued to share information about the kidnapping that her relative was facing. >> You know what? Don't call it. Just see if you can show me the number. It would Did they recently call you? >> No, they hadn't called anymore. >> When did When did they call you last? >> And and I got scared and I like I said, I don't know the number by heart. Um they they called and uh like I say on gosh when they called he asked if uh there was anything and uh and my still um maybe make sure they still get the money or else and that's all it said but it was in person and they didn't call anymore. That's all I know. >> Is James a white or black Hispanic? >> But he black >> black male. How old you reckon James is? >> About I say maybe about in his 50s or 60s. >> So he's an older fella. Everything seemed to be in a difficult situation, but things changed when the police made a call to one of her friends. >> She was coming to >> Hi, Leticia. >> Yes, >> this is Deputy Andre. I'm here with Miss Brown at Region's Bank. Did you drop her off here? >> No, I dro She was supposed to meet us at the Waffle House, Rich Reges. Okay. I need to let her know something. >> Okay. Well, we're trying. She's coming here. Y'all are y'all coming here? Are y'all her caretakers or >> She doesn't have a son. >> She doesn't have a son. >> No. >> Does she have any family? >> Excuse me. >> He has no kid. She has a brother that lives down south. >> Okay, >> I'm trying to get her right now. >> It appeared there was no kidnapping and she did not have a son, raising questions about why she was so panicked. Her friend then arrived at the scene and provided clarification. >> She wrote Sacred Heart. >> She works at Sacred Heart. >> Yeah, she's a housekeeper at Sacred Heart. >> You didn't bring her up here? No, I'm supposed to meet you over here. All right. So, she's having some kind of either a mental breakdown or cuz she handed the teller a note saying that her son is out here in the parking lot being held captive by two people and that they sent her in here to get some money. No, we were supposed to meet her at Waco House, take her to her house, and then me and her is going to go to the hospital doctor's office with my husband. >> For him or for her? >> Good. >> See, uh, she she's been with on the go >> a lot and she said a lot of things and everything. >> Yeah. And this she probably she uh got upset. Something scared the crap out of her. And the only time she would do something like that is something that scared the crap out of her. And I've seen her get scared to do something like that. >> Her friend stated that she often experienced psychological distress and episodes of panic, possibly including delusions. A police officer was then dispatched to speak with her neighbors to verify the situation. >> Yeah, Miss Brown, she was saying that uh there was kidnappers in her house or whatever. So, we were >> Huh. >> Oh, wow. >> Yeah. So, >> what did you say? >> That they had >> She said it was kidnappers in their mom. >> Really? >> They kidnapped her son, but we're finding out she don't have a son. >> She don't have a son. >> She got a son. She got a brother that that live in town. >> Yeah. All right. >> Okay. >> We're trying to figure it all out. Yeah. Thank you. >> At this point, based on the information gathered and despite understanding her condition, the police were still required to inform the woman of the truth. >> Okay. >> Can Can I be honest with you? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. You seem like a really sweet lady. All right. You really do. And and I totally get right. society, they they do you no favors, right? >> We're in it for ourselves. It is what it is, right? So, there wasn't really someone holding anybody hostage. >> I trust I I don't want to go to jail or anything. >> She was charged with grand theft involving an amount between $10,000 and $20,000 as well as fraud for obtaining. This case highlights how panic and possible psychological distress can lead to distorted perceptions of reality, resulting in serious legal consequences when actions are taken based on false assumptions. >> Yeah, that was my job. >> How long ago was that? It's weed. Where'd you get it? >> A friend gave it to you. So, do you have a medical marijuana card? >> On April 3rd, 2025, police received a report from Walmart about a woman committing theft in the store. Surveillance cameras showed her scanning her items, but never intending to pay, then stuffing them into the black bags she carried. A staff member noticed and intervened, warning her that some items hadn't been paid for. But as soon as the employee left, she resumed her actions. After finishing, she casually pushed the card outside only to be stopped by the loss prevention staff. This is what happened next when the police arrived on the scene. And I had paused the transaction to give her a chance to, you know, stop do that, not to not do that and, you know, scan everything. >> Yeah. >> But that didn't happen. Skipping was still going on and bags were being placed on top of merchandise. >> Okay. >> There was that. Then me, him, her, we made the apprehension and she was very cooperative. She came into the office. She gave us the ID. Didn't cross the scene. Didn't do anything. And here's that. >> These are the items that we made the training receipt on the first what you see in the cart >> of the items not scanned. >> All the items skip not scanned. >> Okay. And upon following further communication with her, she did have more merchandise in her on her person on her bag. So these two are different amounts, but the one on the affidavit is the total amount of both receipts. >> From a distance, it was clear the female suspect felt no shame as her actions were exposed, even while certain details of her behavior were further revealed by the loss prevention staff. >> So she accidentally scanned the cheese thing twice. that thing twice. The ruffles were not scanned. >> I'm just going to play the video and you tell me to stop. You'll see it happen. >> Scan scan. >> Scan doesn't scan. And then when I caught on to it, I had paused a transaction right there. You'll see it pause. And then the cohost went and fixed that error. But skipping did not stop and then bags were being placed on top of merchandise. And you'll see that happen right here. You ma'am. >> Sit down. >> Jesus. >> You gave him your your ID. >> The thing didn't say they got any miss on the on the thing. That's why you got that warning. First of all, I didn't know. >> Hold on. Did y'all pause the transaction like YOU NORMALLY DO WHEN HE STEALING? WAIT, >> he was checking out the service. >> Okay, they're right there. >> What's your name? Y too was in possession of both vehicles. The roadway 51 to Arnold. >> The woman tried blaming the store's equipment for the missing items, but she completely underestimated the surveillance cameras already capturing everything she had done, forcing officers to bluntly confront her about the situation. >> Before you go wild on this, I just want you to know I'm always going to take your I'm going to get your side of the story. I'm going to get their side of the story. And then there's what the camera tells. So before you start saying, "Hey, the this didn't pick up. This didn't pick up." Remember, I'mma watch the camera right on top of you showing me what you did and do. Okay. >> Okay. >> Stop. Why? >> BECAUSE I I DIDN'T OFFICER. YEAH. Chill out. >> This is why we gave you that. I said don't touch the purse anymore cuz I've already searched it. >> Nothing in there. >> I don't touch the purse. Don't cuz then the next thing is you're going to be in handcuffs. Don't touch the purse. >> I'm going to read you something before I talk to you. Okay. You have the right to remain silent. anything you was happening with what I was scanning the scanning the stuff. I was moving fast cuz she have to go to she have to catch a flight and if it didn't pick up the thing didn't alert me that it didn't pick up. >> Okay. What did you pay with today? >> I paid with my food I have food stamp card and I have cash assistance on this food stamp card. >> Okay. >> And I paid I didn't I thought y'all take Apple I mean tap y'all on tape tap. So we that's what the issue that was going on back there in the back. We had to train to have somebody to cash out my daughter other daughter the money and she had to put the >> She's asking me what happened. >> Talking about the fool. You explaining other stuff. >> I'm telling about what the how we end up having to not pay the um >> You could even see her own daughter becoming confused by the story her mother kept telling, making the woman seem even less believable. And once officers double checked the surveillance footage, she slowly began admitting to what she had done wrong. >> Doors, if you walk out them doors, it's going to be a shoplifting. That's exactly what was told to you. >> Yeah, but I thought my I thought >> you can put me on that. >> I'm so sorry. I didn't know it was $100. That's a shame. >> Almost $200 worth. And you got way too much money on that damn EBT to be not paying for this stuff. So the little What is that on the side? >> They're bottles. >> Okay, those didn't get scanned and then only one of the other things got scanned. >> The bottle bottles. They probably fill out the bottles, >> girl. They didn't fill out. You put them to the side and did not scan them at all. >> Oh, well that was my mistake. >> At this point, you just going to have to tell me what doesn't. I'm trying to look at the screen at the same time. >> You saw these and these. >> Mhm. >> That >> the cheese on top. >> Uhhuh. >> You want you want to get your paper get your stuff for your part? >> Well, I get a refund for all that stuff. >> What is that? chicken. >> Yeah, >> girl. You didn't even try to scan the a big ass bag of chicken. >> Let me see. >> You don't have to see. I'm telling you. >> I didn't scan it. >> No, you didn't scan it. You went straight to the bag. >> I'm sorry. >> Are you keeping any stuff? >> Huh? >> You want a refund if I take you to jail? >> You taking me to jail? >> If I take you to jail, do you want a refund? That was the question. 4146 414 cuz I don't have no secret anybody going to be there to put it up. >> Did the daughter do anything? >> Not intentionally. Let me say that. >> Everything seemed clear enough for officers to make their decision. But once they started looking into the woman's background, her history only made the situation far worse. >> All my tickets, tickets, tickets. Ain't no nothing criminal. Just tickets. That's all just traffic violations. What was the FTA for? The W2 here from >> Yeah, the fle for this one. >> So, it's not all that you've been you've been detained or stopped. >> But I told you I Well, you say I got a long criminal history. The long criminal history is come from traffic. Now, >> it doesn't matter. You still have a long criminal history regardless is what I'm saying. >> From traffic. >> No, you can't go until your dad shows up here. >> That's when he shows up. You're 16. And I can't let you. Yes, he has to come in. >> I'm not saying you're a bad person. You can still have a long criminal history. That doesn't that has nothing to do with it. >> Quit crying. What you crying for? >> At this point, her theft charge was already undeniable, but don't forget who she was with while committing the crime. That detail alone caused her to face an additional charge, something officers later explained to her husband. >> Yep. So, um she's going to have two charges, >> which is uh petty theft and then uh contributing to the delinquency of a minor because she had her daughter. So, DCF will be involved as a result. Okay. What's a good phone number for you? Okay. Um, they're trying to refund her now for all the stuff. Um, if it doesn't work out, then I guess she's going to come back later and figure it out. But your daughter was trespassed from this Walmart for a year and then her mom is trespassed for 2 years from here. Okay. >> All right. So, and I won't come back. >> No, they can't come back. Not to this one. In the end, the woman was charged with misdemeanor petty theft along with a charge related to contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Never assume pretending to forget to pay will fool everyone because sometimes the cameras and even the people beside you become the very reason your lies fall apart the fastest. >> I don't want to lose my job. >> Have you been arrested for for shoplifting before? >> No. >> Are you sure? Turn off me. You >> been arrested? >> Yeah. On the 2nd of March 2026, police received a report of a theft at Walgreens. The female suspect was believed to have fled shortly after, but police quickly located her at a gas station. This is what happened at that moment. >> Black right next to you. How you doing? >> Hello. >> Where's your bag at? >> Did you go to Walgreens right now? >> Are you sure? >> Okay. What are you doing here right now? We're doing here. >> Yeah. >> Waiting here. >> Waiting here. Okay. Where's your black bag? Why don't you stand up for me? Did you have a black bag on you? >> No. >> Okay. You got anything in your pockets? Did you go to Joel? Did you steal anything? I'm sorry. Not Joel. Walgreens? >> No. >> You sure? Cuz I'm going to have them come over here and then if they identify you, you're going to be arrested. So, I want you to be honest with me. If we took stuff from Walgreens, tell me where it's at, give it back to me, and we'll go from there. >> Okay. Where are the stuff? >> This is no job. >> You work here? >> Yeah. >> Why would you go steal at Walgreens? >> I'm sorry. >> Cuz my boyfriend, he stole stuff and >> Okay. Well, you stole stuff today. >> Mhm. >> You're a Speedway employee. Okay. Did you pay for these gum? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Where's the receipt for it? >> This my for my job. These are for my job. >> Let's go get the stuff. Why don't you go uh ask go talk to them at the Walgreens. See if they want if they want just their stuff back. Unless you want me to go talk to them. We'll just trespass her. Inform >> my job. >> Well, you're here. Inform them that she's a Speedway employee and she's never going to do it again. >> Let's go get your stuff. >> How can I pick it back up? >> No, I'm going with you. >> Under police pressure, she admitted to her theft. Immediately afterward, the police recovered all the merchandise. >> Okay. Well, give me the stuff that you took. All of it. >> That's all you took? >> Yes. >> Okay, let me get your ID. >> I have my ID. >> Where's your ID at? >> At home? >> Why would it be at home? You're working right now. >> Okay, let's go outside. >> 52 from 51 informing that I got all the merchandise it was taking. >> What's your first name? >> Nisha. >> Spell it. >> N I E S H A. N I >> E S H A. >> Slow down. >> E S H A. >> What's your last name? >> Grass. Am I getting charged for this? >> Well, I don't know. It depends on what they want to do. >> The woman still believed there was nothing serious about what she had done, forcing the police to explain the consequences she could potentially face. >> It's a crime to steal. You work at a freaking gas station. Somebody stole from here. If you were working, somebody stole in your establishment where you're working. What would you want to do? >> Yeah. Would you wanted one of them arrested? >> Not really, but I would have them give back. >> No, because you're in a predicament where you're the on the other side of the of the the >> I have them give it back. >> Okay. Well, I can't I can't tell you what they're going to do, right? >> What's your last name again? >> Bradfield. >> Can you spell that, please? >> B R A S S I E L D. >> F I E L D. Do you got a metal name, Nisha? >> Yes. Monet. M O N A. >> Just need to What's your date of birth? >> Oh, continue. 01. >> Yes. >> Okay. What's your phone number, Miss uh Brassfield? >> How long have you been working here? >> Not long. >> Not long. >> How long is not long? Maybe a month, two months. >> Couple weeks. >> Couple weeks. >> Okay. >> I don't want to lose my job. >> Have you been arrested for for shoplifting before? >> No. >> Are you sure? >> Cuz I can look you up and I will find out. >> I know. >> Her expression showed no sign of remorse. And she went on to shift the blame onto her boyfriend, trying to frame him as the one behind the situation. >> He doesn't even steal like my boyfriend, he sells stuff like on on the train and stuff. He sells stuff. >> He steals from people, >> huh? >> He steals from people. >> No, he like just sells. >> Sells stuff. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Deodorants and stuff. And he tell me to get it. >> So your boyfriend told you to go to Walgreens, steal a bunch of deodorants so he can sell them on the train. Is that what you're saying? >> Basically. >> Okay, I got you. A boyfriend's a bad influence. He shouldn't be telling you that. Right. >> How old are you? >> 20. I just turned 25. I'm 28. >> 25. So, you're an adult. You can think for yourself, right? You make your own decisions, right? >> Mhm. >> Okay. And this one was a bad decision. >> Yeah. >> All right. Where do you live? >> Um, east side. >> At that moment, officers explained to her that she would be placed in a patrol car. However, based on her reaction, she still seemed to believe she was not being arrested for her wrongdoing. >> We're going to have a squad car pass by over here. Just look at the squad car. Okay. All right. >> You understand? What does that mean? >> That means there's going to be somebody in the back of a squad car that going to identify you if you were the person that was stealing in that Walgreens or not. >> Okay. >> 322 changes to assistance. All right, turn off me. >> Getting arrested. >> Y. >> Finally, she was formally charged with retail theft. Attempting to minimize or justify theft does not remove legal responsibility. Even under influence or external pressure, the individual still made a conscious decision to commit the act and later faced full legal consequences once the evidence was confirmed. Even worse, the woman became furious after convincing herself that she was being treated like a thief. >> Hey, this is the problem. If you would have just left my bag, >> if you would have left beyond >> On the 20th of May, 2023, police were dispatched to a Family Dollar store after receiving reports of a disturbance. A woman was allegedly causing a confrontation with a store employee. This was what happened when officers arrived at the scene. Yeah, I just come and buy the juice for 12 134 and this is my follow me. Look at my bag and the caution is follow me right here. I finish checking follow me in the the front door if they try take my picture. I say what happened? You see nothing. Ah, what happened? Still look at my bed. Okay, this is the this is the juice one $134. >> What's you >> How you doing, sir? I'm the store manager, Christina. >> Nice to meet you. >> Um, she came didn't say one word to her, >> right? >> She was st I cashed her out. She's the one that giving me eye contact and keep looking back at me. So, I just start giving her the eye contact back while she's exiting the door. So, when I finish cash out, I just stood right here. Never asked her for her bag or anything. Didn't say nothing, sir. I just watch everybody who comes in and out. >> Right. Right. Right. >> I'm at a scene. >> And she came back in here to me. So I backed up and still over there. I'm like, "We have a problem. You watching me?" I said, "I'm in town to watch everyone in the store." She came back in here. She told me to call the police. So I went ahead and called the police. So can you please give her no trespassing for me, please? >> You got your ID? >> The employee issued a trespass warning before the officers even asked. Police also relayed it, but she did not appear willing to accept it. >> All right. Well, let's go outside. I got to get your name. She doesn't want you to come back in the store. All right. >> Come back >> ever. >> What do you What do you What do you What do you mean come back in this store? >> You cannot come here anymore is what I'm telling you. >> Okay, go ahead. Do it. >> Okay. Come on. Let's go outside real quick. >> Store. >> What? >> This store. You cannot come back to Family Dollar. This store. >> Family. I buy I buy something. You say I don't come back on Family Dollar. What? Why? What does that mean? >> You cannot come back here. >> What does that come back? I'm from I'm on the the front door. Why? I'm in the front door. She tried to take my picture. >> Okay, but this is the problem. If you would have just left my bag, >> if you would have left be my bag. >> Now, I'm telling you, you have to leave the store. If you don't leave the store, >> I will leave the store. >> You're going to go to jail. >> You don't understand. >> You are going to go to jail. Do you understand that? >> Go ahead. Yes. Go ahead. Check my bag. >> I'm not going to check your bag. I'm going to take you to jail. >> No. Come on. Let's go. No. >> Let's go. >> Do it right here. >> Let's go. >> Jimmy, do we do it right here? No, >> no. We're doing that. We're doing that outside. >> I have no idea what you just said. >> Finish. Do it. >> Okay, let's go outside so we can do it. >> Do it. >> Come on. >> It seemed like the woman was not even listening to what the police were saying. If you were the officer, what would you do? At this point, the police still had to remain patient and remind her once again, >> you understand. If you don't leave, you're going to go to jail, right? >> I don't leave. You don't understand me. I don't leave. You make trouble. >> I just come in. I don't drink. No, nothing. I just come in and I She's follow me. I stay on the front door. She say I What happened? >> You just follow me. Take my try to take my picture. >> I get that. >> Yeah. >> Okay. You're in public. Anybody could take your picture. >> What does that mean? Picture for what? >> I don't know. >> I take something in the store. >> She never said that, did she? >> She never said that. Why? Why? Why? SHE NEVER SAID THAT. YOU SAID YOU you said you said you supposed to check my picture. >> Why you supposed to show my picture? You take you take you take I'm dumb. >> Listen. >> Okay. Check my bag. >> Either way, >> you don't understand. >> All right. You want Let me get your bag. >> Okay. Give me back. >> Let me get Let me get it. >> See now you're breaking. No. Take me for 10 minutes. >> Are you going to leave here voluntarily or do I have to take you to jail? >> Jail for what? I take >> trespass after warning. She does not want you in the store. She told you you can't come back here. I finished checking. HEY. HEY. HEY. WHAT? >> HEY, WHAT? OKAY. >> HEY, WHAT? HEY, WHAT? >> If you do not leave, >> hey, what? >> If you do not leave, >> I don't take something. Hey, what? If you do not leave, you are going to go. >> No, I don't leave. Not laugh. Huh? >> She clearly refused every chance the officers gave her, causing the tension to continue escalating. The situation even grew worse when she started challenging the police back. >> You want to go to jail? >> Yes. Go ahead. >> Why? Why? >> Show me. All I'm saying what happened? I said no. Show me proof. She's refusing to leave the store. So I'm go 10:15. I just store until you see you say I go to jail. You don't have I buy something I have my in my hand. Look at the bed. This is your last chance right now. >> Okay. Sure. Yes. >> Nope. I gave you your shot. >> Okay. That's it. Yes. >> Even though she claimed she wanted to go to jail, her actions said otherwise, making it difficult for officers to handcuff her. All right. >> Do not take them back. Do not move. I probably have to loosen that one. >> No. >> Oh, yeah. >> This is my going to jail. >> No, >> you're going to jail. >> This is my I don't take it. 20 chances. >> This is my stop. Stop for a while. Stop. >> She was charged with battery, resisting arrest with violence and trespassing after warning. Refusing to cooperate, and escalating a situation with police will usually make the consequences far worse than the original problem. More dramatic step into the story of these women >> on the ground now. Get on the ground. Get on your stomach. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. >> On December 8th, the police received a report about two women stealing from a Prada store and fleeing. But surprisingly, they continued their actions at another store without knowing they had already been spotted. Here was what happened next. Hey, STOP. >> HEY, STOP RUNNING. YOU'RE GOING TO GET CHASED. YOU'RE GOING TO GET CHASED. STOP RUNNING THE other pursuit through the police. Stop running. Please stop running. Please stop running. PLEASE STOP RUNNING. 94. Please stop running. Stop running. You're going to get tased. Get on the ground. GET ON THE GROUND. >> DO not move. Do not move. Face the wall. >> Trying to pay for my foot. YOU'RE GOING TO GET TASED. GET THE ON THE GROUND NOW. >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on your stomach. >> Okay. Okay. Okay. >> Drop your phone or YOU'RE GOING TO GET TASED. COME ON. >> PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> BRO, why don't you >> put your hands behind your back, >> bro? Why don't you give me a bag, bro? >> You're not got me on camera doing anything. I got money. That girl just shot my knees. >> Stop resisting. >> I'm not resisting anything. >> The woman acted as if she was innocent, even though she had tried to run earlier. Even after calming down, she continued making different excuses, even shifting the blame onto the other woman. >> When I tell you to do something, you stop. >> I'm stopping. You scared me. She gave me her bag and started running. What you expect me to do? >> Can I get my shoes, please? I don't want to walk barefooted. Excuse me, sir. Please. >> Mr. Officer, please. My shoes. Josh, where are you? >> I'm sure. Please. This is nasty. Everybody spits on the floor. >> He got us. Do we got >> Do we >> Thank you. >> Stop moving. >> I'm not going nowhere. I'm telling you. I'm paying for my >> Do you need anything from us or No, >> please. She had my She got me the bag. I'm trying to buy my stuff. I have money. I'm not spending. >> I mean, I don't think they stole from you guys yet, but >> they've been hitting a bunch of stores. So, >> no, I HAVE NOT. I JUST BOUGHT STUFF OUT OF NIKE. >> I just bought stuff out of Nike. >> She felt no guilt at all, only cared about her own situation, and shamelessly denied everything, even when the staff had already provided evidence. >> Appreciate it. >> Where was that? In the fitting room. >> In the fitting room. >> Okay. Uh, just give us give us a minute and then we'll >> once we get more officers over here, they're gonna come in and try to see what else they had there. >> That was the other girl that just walked out deep in them. Y'all see yelling. Stop acting like we don't know what we're talking about. >> Stop yelling. Stop yelling. Blackie, stop yelling. >> Those other girls that just walked out of there just left because something was going on. I'm in there shopping. Why would I be in there that long? >> YEAH, THAT WAS THAT BLACK GIRL. YOU WATCHED THE BLACK GIRL RIGHT OUT THE DOOR. NO, CUZ HE FORCED to let him walk right out. Then he accused us. >> He ran because the police yelled stop police and you kept going while you look back at it. >> You going to see why I ran? >> You got a warrant? >> Oh, no. I'm a warrant. >> Do you have an ID in there? >> No. >> You have any weapons in there? >> No. >> Okay. >> What's your name? Yes. >> While fleeing, they had discarded a bag filled with stolen merchandise in an attempt to erase the evidence, but the store staff recovered it, ultimately revealing that they were professional thieves. >> Somebody was left over. >> Um, okay. >> Oh, shoot. >> Thank you. >> I have to miss the number. >> Let's check, shall we? >> Uh, that looks like yours. >> Yep, that's ours. >> Is that Is any of this yours? Yep. That >> this thing. Mhm. >> And probably this one, too. >> Mhm. That's ours, too. >> Okay. >> That's Old Navy. >> Old Navy. >> And then that is probably Yeah. >> Is there stuff that's >> Yeah, that's probably sold in too. >> Yeah, I would assume Adventure cuz this looks like that. >> Yeah. >> So, these are both Steve Madden. This is Steve Madden. And this is their rental. >> And then this is Old Navy in here. God. >> Old Navy. Old Navy. >> 35. >> Where's the seat? >> Oh, did they come out of sacks? >> They lost sight of them at the fountain. >> So, after they were falling still needs one need, >> can you get my purse? That purse. >> Which purse is yours? >> This my purse. >> Go get my purse. >> This person's yours. No, it's going with you. You're an adult. It's just going with you. >> From their expressions, it was clear they were angry about being caught, showing no remorse at all, even joking with each other afterward. >> What y'all talk about talking about? Y giving damn thing. >> They did that [ __ ] That [ __ ] They did. Somebody to tie the back of my neck cuz this is my thing. >> What? >> Yeah. >> Pull it up. Pull it tight. >> What? How do I do that? >> Untie. Wait, let me go down first. Untie cuz it's going to come on. >> He know you do your girlfriend's on. You know how to do it. >> You said untie. Press the thing. You press the thing to record. He press. All she said. All she said was, "Can you >> cuz you know if the straps come from around my neck then this is going to please you sit up." >> You can't blink. Your hands are cuffed. How? That don't make sense. Make it make sense. >> Is it a bow tie? >> Ultimately, both women were charged with organized retail theft and resisting law enforcement. Actions driven by denial and selfishness only make the consequences worse. Taking responsibility early can prevent a bad situation from turning into a life-changing mistake. Next, the two so-called grown-ups force their mother to get involved. >> Put your hands back. PUT YOUR HANDS. PUT your hands behind. Get >> Put your hands. >> GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF ME. I'M NOT HERE. >> WHAT are you even doing at Target? We supposed to be boycotting Target. Why are you here? >> On February 21st, 2025, police were dispatched to a Target store after receiving a report of two women shoplifting. Upon arriving at the scene, both were attempting to leave, but the officers quickly took action. Turn around. Walk that way. >> Both detained right now. You're not afraid to leave. >> Right over there. >> What's your name? >> Because you're under you're being stopped for shoplifting. Tell me your name. >> All right. Let me see that purse. >> You don't know what's out my damn purse. >> Well, we're taking it. The presence of minors indicated that this incident was far from ordinary. However, the situation quickly escalated when one woman began to resist intensely and uncooperatively. >> Hey, YOU DON'T put your hand. >> PUT YOUR HANDS OUT. UNDER arrest underrest is right here behind YOUR BACK. >> I'M NOT DOING NOTHING. COULD YOU STOP? >> PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> Could you STOP MY >> ARE YOU GOING TO LISTEN? Put your hands behind your back. >> Sher, come back here. >> Could you get off of me back? >> No. YOU'RE UNDER ARREST, >> BRO. WHY YOU PUT YOUR FINGER IN MY FACE? STEP OUT RIGHT HERE TO THIS. >> UNFORTUNATELY, the woman's acts of resistance unfolded in front of some witnesses who should not have seen such behavior. Yet, she remained oblivious, even denying everything afterward as if she had done nothing. >> Can you get Can you get THAT KNEE OFF MY BACK? >> I'll get you up now. Now, sit down and go. >> No, you're going to jail. >> Oh my god. >> Now you're getting a felony. >> A felony for what? cuz I didn't even fel in obstruction. You offered violence toward me. >> I DIDN'T OFFER VIOLENCE TO ANYTHING. I SAID YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S IN my purse and YOU PUT YOUR FINGER IN MY FACE. >> Jesus Christ. >> That's Oh, looks like they went to another Target earlier. >> Yeah, I bought that this morning. >> But that's 9:32 this morning. >> Yes, I bought me a sample of all this perfume. >> Yeah, you can. Those are my glasses. >> Um, can you run this real quick and see if she's good for you? >> Oh, you can't because >> sit down. Sit down. >> CAN YOU STOP PUTTING YOUR HANDS ON ME? >> NO, YOU'RE GOING TO SIT DOWN. >> YOU ARE under arrest. You cannot keep getting up. >> Even the other suspect showed no surprise at the unfolding events, suggesting she was likely too accustomed to such behavior. Shortly after, the police promptly informed her of the value of the items they had stolen. The subtotal is $199.99. Have you done a shop? No, this will be evidence. >> Okay. >> And he'll send me the video later. >> Cuz I have a direct link. Um, have you ever done a shoplifting before? >> Not. >> Okay. So, the total amount is going to be $199.99. You don't You don't add the tax in. >> I'm running their criminal history. >> I don't think they've probably ever been arrested for shoplifting. They said they haven't. If there's no other shoplifting on there, it'll be misdemeanor shoplifting for both. And then she's got obstruction. I think he said felony. Listen, you going to chill out? >> This is my child. >> I mean, she certainly got a strong as Hang on. >> I can't I can't Look, I'm sorry. I'm >> Let me talk for a second. Let me talk for a second. Okay. >> Calm down, miss. Please. >> I'm trying to give you the option here between a year in prison or not a year in prison. >> All right. So, if you chill out and you stay calm with us, then I'll just call that misdemeanor. Since you're so small, it's not like you're really going to hurt me. >> I think misdemeanor is probably a little better. >> Yeah. So, you'll be charging misdemeanor obstruction and shoplifting. You'll just be charging. As long as you stay chill, I'm going to stay chill. What I was trying to explain to you what a trigger is for someone putting their finger in my face. I don't >> put your finger in my face, >> but I wasn't trying to. >> And you were trying to grab your purse for me. >> The woman in black, also a mother, showed no awareness of the current situation or the reason for the incident, forcing the police to explain everything to her. >> Now, hold on. You lose control of the situation when you get caught committing a crime. It didn't have to go like that. It could have just been a simple shoplifting, but you started trying to grab something from us. We don't know what they're trying to >> Yeah, but I forgot that was in >> Well, there could have been a gun in there. I'm not going to let you have a gun. And why would I shut down? >> I didn't say you would, but we don't know that. We don't know that. But >> we're not here cuz we want to be. We're not here cuz we want to be. We're here to what you guys do. It's not like I was like, "Let me go get Miss whatever your name is and let me go mess around with it at Target." All right. We're here cuz you not I was totally going to go eat some food right now. >> What do you guys do with the merchandise? You got like sell it all. >> What am I going to do? >> Oh, don't even do that. >> Don't even play a race card when you're literally stealing out of Target. >> What am I going to sell it for? >> Unreal. >> What What was What was I >> No responsibility whatsoever. No, I'm not I'm not talking to you. >> Okay, it's felony, I guess. >> I really don't I'm not even saying anything to you. Then you just keep asking because you're playing a race. >> It's not even about Please stop talking. >> And it didn't stop there. The police quickly discovered from their records that one of the two women also had a prior criminal history related to theft. >> Well, it's your date, your name, and your date of birth. We'll we'll get to the bottom of that, but it's a >> How old are you? >> I'm 19. >> Yeah, it says 32705. It says fel felony theft by deception warrant for you. >> I'm so confused right now. I'm not even playing. >> Well, I look, I'm not going to say it's never happened. Somebody could have gave your name. Have you ever even been to Tennessee? >> One time for a trip. >> While you were up there, did you do something like stay at a hotel and didn't pay or something weird like that? >> I stayed at a hotel, but I didn't pay for the hotel. Like, >> was it in your name or something? >> No, it wasn't nothing. >> Listen, I don't know what happened cuz it's up there. They took a warrant on you. You're going to have to get to the bottom of it. >> Literally mean nothing was in my name. >> Somebody somebody took a theft by deception warrant against you. >> So listen, you'll have your chance to take care of that, but we have nothing to do with that. When we just checked your name to ensure the safety of the only innocent party, the police contacted the mother of the two women. Yet even in the presence of their mother's words, the women continued to display a disappointing attitude. >> So they were shoplifting. They were putting makeup in a purse. So she's going to jail here for misdemeanor shoplifting. >> Did you get paid today? Did you get what the [ __ ] is what you doing at Target? We supposed to be boycotting Target. Why are you here? >> Thank me later. >> Why are you here? >> You just call them nothing. >> I ain't I'm talking about today. Damn that today. Why are you in here stealing? >> Hello. Makeup. Socks and razors. >> You don't have You can't afford that. >> I can't. >> So, what? >> Well, I don't know. >> What did they have, sir? >> Just these these makeup socks and razors and I think this little perfume stuff. It's like uh maybe $260 worth of stuff. >> They were like working together, handing it to each other. So, >> they both go for shoplifting, but >> you thought you going to get away with this in turn? It's a misdemeanor shoplift in here, but like I said, it sounds like the stuff she's got up there is a little more serious because it's a felony. And >> it does say full extradition. So that that means if it says full extradition, usually that means if you get arrested in California, they'll come get you. A lot of places it ain't like that. So >> So I'm going to need you to be honest about the Tennessee thing. She's been she's been acting like she has no clue. She really >> have a clue. >> It may have been something. It could have been something. The person she was with did it and they charged them both. I was asking if she stayed at a hotel and maybe like they stayed in the hotel under a false name. >> I forgot what the hotel. >> You said it was under your name. >> No, it wasn't under >> She saying it was under her name. >> I don't even have to pull my ID up. >> Both women were charged with retail theft while one was additionally charged with resisting arrest and battery on law enforcement officers. Resisting police and denying responsibility only worsens the outcome. Compliance, even in stressful situations, can prevent minor offenses from escalating into serious charges. Next, a single theft investigation ended up exposing two more separate crimes. >> The stuff wasn't scanned at the uh scanner, and I was like, "Oh, well, my apologies. >> What are you doing, bro? Bro, what are y'all doing, bro?" >> On the 23rd of January, 2024, police stopped a vehicle suspected of being linked to a Walmart theft. However, they did not expect the situation to be far more serious than anticipated. This was what unfolded at the time. >> Hello. How you good? How you guys doing today? Good. >> Good. Awesome. Police department. Um the reason why I'm stopping today, >> there was some people at Walmart said that there was an issue. You guys um coming from that area. Um they gave this license plate and everything said the vehicle description um that was involved in some type of altercation with somebody from uh Walmart. >> Oh yeah. We had just a few items that she had supposedly scam scanned. I guess she forgot or whatever the case may be, but we left the items. >> Okay. >> And we we was trying to purchase it, but they said we couldn't, so we just leave the store. >> Okay. All right. And it may be just some type of misunderstanding or something, but >> Yeah, it was. And we I literally asked them, could we just go pay for the items? They talking about no, can you guys just leave our store? >> Okay. >> And I asked them, they told us no. Okay. All right. And so did you guys go like through a selfch checkckout or something or Okay. >> Yeah. And we literally tried to pay for the items. They wouldn't let us. >> Okay. All right. Fair enough. Do you guys have your IDs with you I can take a look at real quick? >> So they believed it was a misunderstanding rather than being caught in the act. And they admitted they had tried to pay afterward. However, that clearly violated Walmart's policy after crossing the final point of sale. At that moment, the primary suspect detailed the entire story from her perspective. >> Put some items in a shopping cart. Kind of go through that for me. What happened as far as >> um I was actually doing the scan and go on my other phone. >> Okay. >> Um I'm not sure if it died before or after we end up getting the cake because we didn't get the cake until after we paid for the groceries. >> Okay. >> Um they asked to see a receipt. I said I get to scan it and go on my phone. My phone was dead. I asked did they have a charger because it was already on my phone. >> Okay. >> They said uh we will have to uh give them our information and uh uh we won't be allowed back in the store if we don't give them our information. I said, "What's the issue?" >> Okay, >> we pay for the stuff. I'm not understanding why. They at first they wouldn't tell us what was the problem until we made it by the back door and they were like okay well since you guys keep asking because we kept asking like you guys are putting us in the room but not telling us what's the problem. >> What's the problem? They like oh well you you guys have this uh part but the stuff wasn't scanned at the uh scanner. And I was like oh well my apologies. I could rescan it, but my phone is dead. >> She came prepared with a detailed story about her phone dying and being unable to complete the payment, but in reality, police used her ID and discovered this was far from her first time doing something like this. >> All right. Um, Mitch, were you aware that she had a warrant? >> Hell no. >> You have you have a warrant for retail theft? You weren't aware of that? >> No, >> it was it was issued in July of this year. So, it looks like it's a PR warrant though. So, what'll have to happen is that we'll have to take you down to the county jail and you'll have to get your fingerprints and photographs and stuff. And what they'll do is they'll give you a new court date about like 30 days out from now. And do you are you aware of any pending cases or anything like that? >> No. >> Okay. Not aware of that at all? >> No. >> No. Okay. So, it's county too. So, I don't know what what you got going on or whatever. I haven't looked into it yet, but they just told me that she had a warrant. What the? >> Yep. So, um, are you on the phone with mom or? >> Yes. >> You still are. You want to tell mom the information or whatever or have her come down and get you or >> do you know how long it's going to be? >> Um, it just depends on how long it takes to process you. That's all. So, the faster we get going, the faster I can get you out so you can get your kiddo's birthday party. Um, they would have tried to make contact with you. You would have got something in the mail, too. >> I have not received anything in the mail. Nothing. Okay. Yeah, you you would have got something in the mail around July then. So, like I said, it's a PR warrant. So, generally the only thing they'll make you do is post like $35. It's like a it's a warrant fee is all it is is that what you'll have to post down there. >> The woman was taken into custody shortly afterward while the male driver tried to clear his name and distance himself from the theft. However, police then informed him that he was tied to an entirely different violation. So, as far as your license goes, were you aware that your license is no good? Your license is revoked. I don't know if you're aware of that or not. >> Please don't tell me that. >> Your driver's license is revoked. >> I was not aware of that. I wouldn't been driving. See, that's why I'm saying like all this [ __ ] is just a lie. >> Okay. It's been revoked since 2022. >> Huh? >> Your your driver's license was issued in 2020 and then two years later it was revoked. I don't have no acknowledgement of that because I'm not a troublemaker. I don't get in trouble and I never that was never br to my acknowledgement. I wouldn't been driving. Trust and believe me. >> So, just so you're aware, the address that's listed on your driver's license. What is that? Is that letters from the Secretary of State to that address on your driver's license? >> That's probably what it was. My mail went. Yeah. If you moved or something in the meantime, man. >> Yeah. Cuz I didn't know. I wouldn't been driving. I got a whole mom. I would have just had my mom do all the driving and had her ride us around. Yeah. I knew nothing about that, bro. >> Okay. All right. Fair enough. >> Terrible. >> Thanks for the heads up. Like this [ __ ] is >> the worst. >> All right. So, as far as the stuff from Walmart goes, man. >> It turned out nobody in the car was legally allowed to drive, forcing police to tow it. But the last passenger refused to cooperate, instantly getting himself charged, too. >> Right. >> Cuz I'm towing the car. >> So, how y'all going to get the balloons to her if she's on the >> We're going to give them to her when she comes. So, what are y'all saying? >> I need you to step out of the car. >> The tow truck is here. >> No, I need you to step out of the car so we can inventory the car. >> Inventory the car. >> Inventory the car. >> Can you step out, please? >> Do you have a warrant? >> We do not need a warrant. >> To what? >> If you want to go to jail tonight, you can go to jail. >> Please. >> I'm telling you to step out of the car or you're going to go to jail. >> Give me one second. >> You can have this phone conversation outside of the vehicle. Step out of the car or you're going to go to jail. But I'm going to pull you out of the car. >> Yo, what is he doing? Step out of the car. >> Step out of the car. Step out of the car. >> What is he doing, bro? Stop, bro. What are y'all doing, bro? Stop. >> He told you to step out of the car. Stop, man. Stop. Step. STOP. HELP. STOP. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. You told >> me to get out of the car and everything. >> Sure did. I told you to get out of the car multiple times. >> Not in the hell. >> Get a tow truck. >> You got a cuff on me. >> In the end, the woman was charged with theft. The driver was charged with driving on a revoked license. The remaining man was charged with obstructing law enforcement. Trying to argue, resist, or make excuses after getting caught only turned a Walmart theft stop into multiple criminal charges for everyone involved. >> It's just a little too high. Okay. It was like $184 worth of stuff. So, little too high for >> No, I'm just going to address him. I'll just call him dude. >> Yeah. >> On the 13th of September 2025, police received a report from Walmart about a theft incident. The suspect was identified as a woman who attempted to quietly bypass the system. When approached, the woman remained completely calm as if she performed an innocent act. >> Oh, he already run everything down. >> Oh, you have to do it, too. >> I got Yeah, this is my town. >> Okay. I don't want to fall away in there. I'm like phobic. I I don't want to be there. >> All right. So, I got to talk to them, but right now you're not free to leave. So, I'm going to need it for my report. That's why. >> No. Done for Thank you. Okay. So, because you are not free to go. Okay. >> Okay. Thank you. >> No, you are not free to talk. >> Why? >> Because I got to talk to them. I just got here. I know you've been here a while, but I'm I'm the investigating officer, your young lady. Come on. Bear with me. I got to find out what what happened. >> Nothing happened that day. And I didn't pay for all of my items. >> Okay. And that's why I'm here. >> Her method of stealing was considered quite sophisticated to deceive the loss prevention team. But she did not expect that they were now exposing her entire scheme to the police. >> Uh, so I was alerted by the self check. the hopes that she had all the food that was scanned and she was beginning to pay. It was a whole bunch of stuff that was not on the receipt. >> Okay. >> And she didn't even attempt to scan. >> Then we watched the I had him run it back and she ain't attempt to scan nothing. >> Okay. Paid $94 out of a $100 bill and um $5 on her debit card. >> $5 on her debit. Okay. Um how much stuff is it over there? It's probably like a if not 100 a little bit over. >> What is is that also food or not? >> No, it's not. General merchandise like shoes, clothes, sippy cups, paper towels. >> And who alerted you? >> Uh, a worker that works at the subject. >> What do you guys want done? >> Prosecute. >> Okay. >> And trespass. >> Okay. >> Cuz she was not cooperative at all. She tried to snatch the car away from me and asked her to come out and final point of sale. >> Yeah. When I stopped her in the best of bill on the other side, I asked her for her receipt. She gave me this one. I looked at it, glanced at it. I said, "Do you have another one?" She told me no. I said, "Do you want to come back with me so we can talk about the um pay for merchandise?" She told no. I'm trying to bring her back on this way. She got like five, six kids with her, so I'm not trying to, you know. >> Sure. Make it. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Then when she seen her speed, then she was like, "Oh, you want to go over here?" Like, "Yeah, I've been asking you to do that." >> Sure. The woman appeared frustrated about being detained, waiting for the police so she could leave, but it quickly became clear when officers arrived that she would not be leaving easily. >> Can you turn anything off? >> All right. Really quick and put it right here. Okay. >> Okay. >> Can you just turn around? Put your put your hand up. >> Oh, wait. You're put your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> So, what's going on now? >> Let me take a look. Why am I in a handcuff? >> Is this all the stuff? >> Actually, you mind taking her to my car? >> Yes. >> Thank you. >> Two mark one female custody. >> So, this is all the stuff that she didn't pay for. >> Correct. >> Okay. Hey, you did you observe any of this or you pulled up? >> When I walked up, I observed that she had all this stuff underneath >> underneath the car. So, she had stuff that she had paid for on top in bags. Was this stuff bagged or no? >> No. >> No, not bag. >> Bagged. So basically just picture all this stuff on top of you. >> Got it. Got it. Makes sense. Okay. So then you stop or you ask for another receipt. She's like, "Nah, she's kind of giving you a hard time. She's kind of being uncooperative. Sees Elmer's starts freaks out." >> Freaks out a little bit. And then you guys call us and then she told her kids to get to some van or something. >> Yeah, there's a van right there. Okay. I'll be right back. Okay. Thanks, guys. You're welcome. >> You guys have a female working or no? >> Uh, we do. You want me to check at the station? >> You're under arrest. Okay. for retail theft. >> Wow. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> It's just a little too high. Okay. It was like $184 worth of stuff. So, little too high for for a ticket. >> She showed no shame as she pleaded for a citation so she could leave. And earlier she had made similar pleas. The officer recounted those exact words. >> Kept saying, what did she say? She's like, "Man, I'll pay for whatever I didn't take blah blah blah." So, >> that's what she kept saying to you and to them. >> Yep. Okay. with you present. >> Yeah. >> Okay, cool. Thank you. So, I'll pay for whatever I didn't pay for on social. >> Exactly. And she said, um, the boyfriend was like, "Oh, you trying to like help her a little?" >> I was like, "Oh, you might have done that by accident, right?" She's like, "Yeah, cuz I have all the kids." >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> So, let me go take a picture of the stuff and receipts and um Yeah. You mind staying with her until I come back? Thank you, sir. >> Please. All right. Let me take this the receipt. >> Did she pay? Yeah, she paid for this. >> Can she come back and get her or how do you guys want to do that? Her man left already. >> I credit her. >> She paid EBT >> and she's trespassed. >> How is that possible? >> I guess we just got free shoo. >> Thank you. Yeah, please. And then uh my email, I'll send you guys an Axon link, too, >> just to double it up so we can get it to work. Okay. We also um got a way to send the whole report through to Aura. So, we'll check that out, too. >> Okay. I'm all new to this. I'm new to Dayshift. So, if you guys know the the shindig, I'm all in. >> All right. >> It could be said that despite her outward appearance, the woman was the one committing theft using an EBT card, showing no remorse at all. And she even kept smiling on the way to the police station. >> Can I pull my shirt up? >> Well, this female officer will help you out with that. >> Sorry, [ __ ] Here, move your seat belt out of the way. I didn't see it. >> Get your balance. >> Uhhuh. >> You got it. >> Where'd you put it? >> You put in the back by any chance? >> I your man. Okay. Okay. Cool. You can walk up the ramp. >> Thank you. Right this ramp right here. Your man uh what's your dude's name? >> Um your name? >> No, I'm just going to address him. I'll just call him dude. >> Yeah. The woman was formally charged with one count of retail theft. Shortcuts built on dishonesty always collapse under scrutiny and a moment of greed can quickly turn into lasting consequences. >> Do not DO IT. >> MY CAR MATTER. >> I GOT KIDS IN MY CAR. >> SO I left the cart there. >> So you left the cart over there >> with all your stuff? >> Yes. >> On the 18th of April 2024, officers stopped a vehicle after confirming it was connected to a theft at Walmart. What seemed like a simple shoplifting arrest quickly spiraled into chaos. >> Step out. >> Get out of the car. >> Get out of >> Get out now. >> Get out. >> Don't pull on me. >> Step out. Do not pull on me. >> Don't pull on me. >> Get out of the car. >> Ma'am, don't pull on me. >> Do not pull on me. >> DO NOT PULL. >> MY CAR IS NOT A CAR. IT DON'T MATTER. >> I GOT KIDS IN MY CAR. >> DO NOT DO NOT >> I wasn't I was trying to stop rob from you. What the >> relaxing? >> What made the situation even more unwanted was that other family members were also inside the vehicle causing everything to grow increasingly more difficult for everyone involved. >> What are you doing? What are you doing? You're not going that way. You're not going that way. >> Get off my mom. >> You're not going that way. >> Cuz they saying that she took some merch. That's why. >> Stay in the car. Stay in the car. Stay in the car. >> GET OFF MY MOM. >> STAY in the car. Listen. >> You're not going that way. >> Stop touching MY [ __ ] MOM. YOU DUMB. >> RELAX. I'mma put you a cud if you don't relax. You understand me? Relax. >> Tell him to get off my mom. Tell her to get off my mom. >> She's being detained right now. Okay. Till we figure out what's going on. >> Something that she didn't do. >> Cuz she took something from Walmart. Okay. >> Oh god. She didn't take nothing. Okay. We're going to relax. We're gonna figure it out. Okay. >> I hope this dumb >> We got to figure it out. >> At that moment, officers presented the store's accusation to the mother, but it was clear she had no intention of handling the situation calmly. >> Put your hands investigating a crime. >> What crime? >> Retail theft at Walmart. >> What crime? Hold on. What? I didn't take nothing from Walmart. >> Well, we got to figure THAT OUT. YOU'RE >> LOOK, CHECK. LISTEN. YOU CAN CHECK. LISTEN. >> YOU CAN CHECK RIGHT NOW. >> YOU'RE BEING DETAINED. Figure this out for theft. Someone said you stole. So that's aing lie. >> OKAY, WE GOT TO FIGURE that out. >> NO, YOU CAN CHECK MY STUFF RIGHT NOW. >> OKAY, WE WILL CHECK. >> YOU'RE ABOUT TO GET CHARGED WITH RESISTING. >> NO, you can check. I'm going to now >> But we need to detain you. >> You can check it now. >> Go check it. >> Stop resisting. >> You're going to get charged with resisting. If you continue, you need to stop. Stop. >> Stop. >> Stop. >> Stop resisting. >> Yo, tell him to stop getting to get off my mom. >> Relax. >> He told him to get off my mom. >> Relax. >> He told him to get off my mom. She's about to get another charge if she doesn't relax either. Okay, we're trying to figure everything out. >> Okay, let me tell her to calm down. >> Okay. Okay, you can do it from there. I can't get you going over there. Okay, >> stop resisting. Relax. >> I don't like how you grab me. >> Well, maybe if you if you grab you tell me where the you grab me for. >> Well, first we were trying to do a traffic. >> I need my shoe. My foot is high. >> Well, get on the grass. I'll get you your shoe. >> No, I want my shoe right now. I want my shoe. >> My shoe. >> My shoe. I'll >> get you your shoe here. >> Thank you. >> Stay right there. >> Stay right here. >> What made it even more disappointing was that after all the chaos she caused while denying everything, she now admitted the story as if there had been nothing wrong at all. >> Like I said, we're conducting an investigation that occurred at Walmart, right, for shoplifting. Okay. Unfortunately, you met the description 100%. Isn't shoplifting is when you out the store with the stuff >> without paying for it? >> You pass all points of sales and you pass all points of sale, which is all the registers, even the register by the little pretzel spot and pass the pharmacy and all that stuff. And they say they caught you on camera. All right. So, camera is not edited. You can't edit uh any video within a few minutes. You can't. Okay. Just so you know. All right. Can you explain what happened? I want to hear your side of the story. >> Yeah. I was scanning the stuff and then the the lady was taking forever to come. >> When you say the lady, you talking about the customer service rep? >> Yes. Okay. >> So, I was just standing there and I got to go to work. So, I scanned some of the stuff and then some of the stuff was left in the bag. >> Okay. Did somebody try to stop you? >> Yeah. And she told me to go rescan my stuff and I told her I can't go rescan cuz I have to go to work. So, I left the cart there. >> So, you left the cart over there with all your stuff? >> Yes. >> Okay. And then when you left, you obviously left in a particular way. Okay. And we saw it on camera as well. So they're saying that you left in reverse out of the store. >> I left it in reverse cuz she's trying to get my tag. >> Okay. >> Well, she beat my tag for. I didn't take nothing out of the store. >> Okay. But you passed all points of sale. That's the main purpose. Okay. >> So that's why they stopped you and told you to come back and they gave you an opportunity. >> Well, they need to hire more more workers. >> Again, that's rid of this this selfch check. I think it's ridiculous. She not only denied her earlier shoplifting, but also rejected the resistance that followed, as if lying had come to her as naturally as breathing. >> And you started resisting and saying no. >> It's the way that you got me out the vehicle. >> Yes. Because you you said no multiple times. >> No, I said >> when you not when you're not cooperating with officers and we give you a lawful order to stop because we're conducting an investigation. That's in a sense resisting. And then when you got violent with the other officer and you actually >> No, I didn't get violent. >> You got violent. You actually hit him. >> I did not. I didn't hit nobody. That's a lie. That is a big lie. I did not hit no officer. >> No, I did not. Don't Don't do that. Don't do that. I did not hit nobody at all. >> I didn't put my hands on nobody on camera. >> All right. Let me see the camera cuz I didn't hit nobody. >> Ma'am, DON'T. >> That's a lie. >> That's a big lie right there. >> My hands ain't going on nobody. He put his arm on his hand on my arm and dragged me out the car. And I say, "Why do I have to get out the car?" >> So why you don't why you not telling me the reason for me to get out the car? And then you pull me out the car. >> Yeah. At the end of the day when we're conducting an investigation, you >> go like that. When you open my door and say, "Get out the car." You don't do that. >> Okay. So we told you to get out the car multiple times and you denied. >> The first time he told me to get out the car, officer, >> I said, "Why do I have to get out the car?" Then he pulled me out the car. >> You don't do that. >> So we were conducting investigation. That was the main reason we we were conducting we gave you a lawful order. All right. For cuz we were conducting an investigation. That was the main purpose. All right. So, from here on out, we're going to let you know what's going to happen next. Just give us a few seconds. Okay. >> Shortly after, to ensure the safety of the suspect's family members, a guardian was called to pick them up. >> Yeah. You don't have to worry about the vehicle. Okay. >> Okay. >> Yeah. It's going to get towed. Okay. >> Oh, no. I just live just >> I know. But when when uh when a vehicle is involved with a crime, we normally have to tow it. It's just >> our policy. >> So, she got caught or something. >> Even though she's even though my name is >> is on there, too. >> Yeah, cuz she was the one driving. Yeah. >> Oh, man. >> She get >> Don't worry about it. Okay. He's talking to me right now. >> So, so she's basically um All right. So, she is going to be arrested. Okay. She is going to go down to uh Orange County Jail. Okay. Right now, they have um resisting, we have the shoplifting, and we have battery on LEO. Okay. So when we tried to do the 1050 on her, which is a traffic stop, uh we were trying to get her out of the car so we could detain her. And then at that point, I guess she made a push, hit an officer. Um and then the resisting, not letting us detain her. >> Okay. >> What was what y'all did that for? >> What were y'all doing all that? >> And actually saved this one from getting in handcuffs cuz she was trying to run over there and and help her, which I get. It's her mother. I get that. But I was, you know, trying to keep her away to avoid that as well. Okay. >> I did not raise her like this. >> She was ultimately charged with retail theft, resisting an officer with violence, and resisting an officer without violence. When someone chose to argue instead of comply, a simple accusation turned into multiple criminal charges. One bad decision could be explained, but doubling down with resistance only made the consequences far worse. Next, let's move on to these chaotic women. >> You're going to be placed into custody for battery. Okay. Okay. So, I need you to turn around and put her >> I need you TO >> DON'T RESIST. Don't resist for touching y'all. Why would I touch you again? >> That's something a tox lesson learned. >> On the 7th of February, 2026, officers received a report about a disturbance at Sam's Club. As soon as they arrived at the scene, one of the victims stepped forward and described everything they had witnessed. >> What's going on? So, I just they were um there was a black woman in a high schooler blocking away. Wait, wait, wait. I just said, "Excuse me." I go, "Excuse me." The kid heard me. They pul he moved over and then the one of girls goes to me, "You didn't say, "Excuse me, blah blah blah." Started the [ __ ] with me and I was like, "Yeah, I did." And she goes, "No, you didn't." And I'm like, "What?" >> I'm like in the middle of the aisle there and she's here. >> This aisle here, >> two aisles over serial aisle, but like I'm just right there. And she's over here. And then she's starts saying, "I'm going to, you know, who do you think you are? was swearing and going on at me. Then she came over and after me and it physically attacked me. Like she came over, grabbed my arm, grabbed my hand, tried to switch, turn take my arm back. These are like girls in her 20s. And then the other girl and there's >> This is the girl in pink that grabbed you. >> No, the girl with her. The other girl with her is crazy. >> So the pink girl took her the other girl off me and I was by myself. >> So the one in pink pulled the other one off you? >> Yeah. Yeah. But she's >> And then they just started walking off. No, they were screaming and saying, "You're saying all this racist stuff. I didn't say one racist ever in a million years." Anything they're saying. Then they're videotaping me. I'm like, "I'm gone. Call the police." During this, I'm okay. No, I'm fine. I appreciate that. This arm just came out of a cast. >> Oh, that's the kid. That's the That's the kid who was with him. >> Yeah. Hey, where's the young lady with the pink that was with you? Hold on. Come here. >> What happened between you and this nice little >> Okay, >> there they are. Uh, >> the suspects being described suddenly appeared at the scene, allowing officers to approach them almost immediately, but their attitude clearly showed they had no intention of cooperating. >> Can I need your ID first? >> I have an ID. And that's when she grabbed you. >> Yes, she grabbed my hand. >> That's what I need to investigate because if she grabbed you now, I need to arrest her. So you're saying she touched you first and she's saying you touch her first. You see the problem? >> I put my hand right here. >> I understand. I heard you out, right? All right. >> These women had no evidence proving they were the victims. And to stop the situation from dragging on any longer, officers made their decision. But even then, the women still managed to turn everything into an even bigger mess. >> Told you what happened. >> Okay, so I need your name if you're my victim, right? You're alleging she she put hands on your >> say she's the victim. >> She of course she's going to say she's the victim. She's the one who said all of us hit her. I didn't take nothing. >> So, I didn't steal nothing. >> Gotcha. >> The man denied committing theft, but what raised suspicion was his visible nervousness when officers began asking about the items. >> Okay. Where did the stuff you were turning come from? >> No, I'm saying I had stuff in my car. >> Okay. >> I'm a little upset and nervous. >> Yeah, you're good. Yeah. That's why I want you to just like calm down. >> Okay. I need to understand what happened. So, just describe it to me like I weren't there. >> All right. I was coming I was in the store. I was getting ready to turn out and and go towards the uh whatchamacallit. I wanted to put some uh money on my card so I can pay for my whatchamacallit. >> What's the what you call it? >> Uh pay for my stuff, my items. >> Okay. >> Okay. You guys didn't come up here together? >> No, we did not. >> I need you to tell me what's going on because you know that doesn't make it. Listen, >> you need to worry about me right now cuz I'm the one that's got to make sense of the >> How am I supposed to believe you for something? >> I don't know, sir. >> Just tell me what happened. Whose cars? >> Maggie. >> Maggie. >> I don't know who them is. Sir, it just was in my pocketbook. It's not a big deal. >> Just like the man, the officers also had full footage capturing the woman's actions, and she surely faced the consequences of her actions. You be in the thing. Okay. >> Let you get two, three puffs of that before we put it out. Okay. In my back seat with it. I'm not lying to you. >> Cuz you're lying to me. >> I don't. >> You got all kinds of stuff going on. We're going to have to have a conversation >> and I want to have a real conversation with you. You know what I'm saying? >> Get the lighter for me. Please. Please. >> Oh, you need a light? >> I'll let you get a puffer into, but you're going to have to go. I'm going try to get you some AC real quick. >> I need to figure out some stuff. >> Okay. >> Can you place her? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Get two, three puffs out of it. >> Yeah. >> All right. I'm just going to have you lean up against my car right here for just a second. Okay. >> I ain't going nowhere, sir. You can I run, sir. >> I promise you that. I'm not going nowhere. >> I appreciate that. Sometimes people tell me that and then they take off running. Do you have anything on it? It's going to pug me, sick, and stab me. Okay. Do you have any pockets on these pants? >> Wait, wait. I think my driver license >> Your driver license is in your pants? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Right there. >> I'm I'm not going to go. >> Just let it go. Just let my arm go and I'll stick my hand and give it. >> Okay. >> So, it was in your pants. Listen to >> this is your last chance to lie to me if you have any kind of concern. You understand that? >> Okay. Lewis Watson was charged with felony retail theft, providing a false name to law enforcement and an active warrant out of Valuchia County with a bond set at $970. Maggie Bennett was charged with felony retail theft, providing a false name to law enforcement and an active warrant out of Putinham County and was held without bond. Lying and making excuses only made their situation worse, proving that dishonesty will always lead to heavier consequences. Next, the police surprised the thief who was the store's employee. >> And he walked out midway through his shift and stole $50 while like he walked out. >> Yeah. Go ahead. >> On April 13th, 2023, the police were dispatched to a 7-Eleven after receiving a report that an employee had stolen money from the cash register. Upon arriving, the store manager began outlining the steps the suspect had taken during the theft. >> Hi, how are you? >> Good. Good. Yes, I did call. Um I had as earlier yesterday employee was on shift 2 to 10 and he walked out made a way through his shift and stole $50 while like he walked out took $50 from the register and walked out. >> Um which I don't know it's an employee theft. So is that a I don't know what it is. >> You guys pursue charges? >> Yes. >> Okay, cool. You have on video? >> I do. >> Can we get the video? >> Do you need a hard copy of it? >> If you mind, can I see it real quick? >> You can see it. Yeah. >> The employee was identified as a newly hired trainee. Shortly after, the manager continued providing additional testimony about how the theft was discovered. >> So, okay. He was on schedule 2 to 10 and he I mean as far as I was aware everything was going great and I decided I was I was on I was here yesterday and I was here since morning and I left. As I was leaving I told everybody goodbye and I left and literally was 15 minutes on my way and he asked for a cigarette break to the employee that was with him. So she let him go on cigarette break and he walked out and just never came back. And then today when we came in, we were doing the paperwork. We noticed $50 was short in the paperwork. So we would check the cameras at the time of cuz it was in the same shift that he left in. So we checked the cameras in. >> When did you notice today? What time? >> I would say so my business partner was here. She noticed it. I would say around 10:00. And then I came in and I checked the cameras and I noticed it afterwards as well. >> You guys have any like pretty um information on him, his name, birthday, license, like an application? >> So, I'll be very honest with you. I think his applications he literally this was his second day yesterday, like 8 hours in. Um so, the the issue with it is I have his address, which it's the same address as this right here. The store manager also provided evidence to support their testimony. On April 14th, the police returned to the store to confront the employee, catching him completely by surprise. >> Hang on. Hey, go ahead. >> Hey, what's going on? Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. Look forward, man. You're not going. You're good. >> Let me go with um >> Did you drive him here or y'all walk? >> Did you drive him here or y'all walk? >> Okay, we'll take what's going on tonight. Okay. We're going to talk back. >> Take our car. >> I'll lock it. >> Yeah. Hey, we How old are you? I mean, you >> Okay. >> Immediately after taking the suspect into custody, the police explained the situation to his friend, who showed no surprise at all. >> What's going on? Okay, so we got him on camera taking money from the register. So, we're going to ask him some questions and and he probably go with us. Okay. Cuz he's he's caught on camera. Um he calling his mom. He's going to explain nothing to her. So, um >> would you like to speak? >> What's going on? >> Okay. Hey, hey, ma'am. This is Deputy Van Tassel Sheriff's Office. So, >> what's going on? >> So, what we have going on right now, uh your son works at 7-Eleven, right? >> Yeah. So, we have him on we we have him on camera or the the manager has him on camera taking money out of the register. So, >> um on the 12th and we got an exact time we have him like we it's on camera dead to right and taking money out of the register, put it in his pocket and everything else happening now. >> So, we're we're asking him questions and everything. If he revokes his right to speak to us, that's totally up to him. But, we have him dead to right uh on camera. We're going to turn everything in with our investigation. He's probably going to go with us though to kind of jail. >> So, what does that mean? >> Uh, he's being placed under arrest and he'll be in the jail tonight. >> Oh my god. All right. Oh, I got Oh god. >> Um, >> he's he's 18, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, he's going to have to wait till first thing in the morning to see the judge, and the judge will give him a bond. Turning back to the suspect, the police explained why the situation had unfolded as it did, but he seemed fully aware of it himself. His expression revealed everything. >> All right, man. So, >> it's on video. Okay. Um, you good? You okay? I I know the situation, but are you okay? >> I'm okay. >> All right. So, we're about to go inside real quick. We have to get some information from your boss. Um, what were you here to get? >> What were you paycheck? >> Okay. Do you want us to get that for you so you can have it with you? >> That's my paycheck. Okay. So, we'll um we'll make sure that he can give it to us. We'll turn it in with all your stuff. That way you have it um and we'll go from there. >> All right. What's up, fellas? >> How you doing? >> All right. >> Um you want to start on the A and B or do you want to >> No, no. Whatever you want to do. So, we'll we'll give him a statement form real quick to fill out if you could. The gentleman right here, get him a case number. Um, and just use the the CCR, >> huh? Okay, I got you. >> Okay. So, I told your mom cuz he was talking to your mom on the phone. I already told her what's going on. Um, like I said, unfortunately, we don't have first appearance multiple times a day, so you're going have to wait till the morning and see the judge. Okay. >> In the end, he was charged with theft. Even a newly hired employee cannot escape the consequences of theft cameras and careful recordkeeping ensure that wrongdoing is always caught and punished. Next, a car theft case unfolded, but the chaos was no less intense. Come. >> I can't breathe. I'm not trying to run you retards. >> So, in total, there were three suspects involved in this incident, and each of them was then escorted out and placed into separate patrol cars. All right, take that off from Get in there. All right, >> I'm going to crack the window cuz the AC don't work. >> Is that too tight? >> No. >> What's your last name? Brown. >> Appreciate you, Mr. Bro, >> just lay like this. >> Best you can, man. Pull this pull this time. >> Stay relax. >> It's not as bad as a taser. We promise we we get it done to ourselves. >> Deep breath. >> One. >> Now take one. >> Now's wondering if we can let them know. Take a deep breath. >> Ready. Go. All done. Is he out? >> Yeah. Everything out. My bad, y'all. Man, my bad, man. I ain't no I ain't on no [ __ ] y'all. No, that's my girlfriend. That's my girlfriend. Uhhuh. That's my brother. That's my girlfriend. Keep on my dead body. >> I got that shoe off. Kick that kick the left shoe off. I got 32. All right. >> Let me double lock these real quick. >> All right. All right. Go ahead. Take a seat. Right after that, all three were taken back to the police station and the detectives investigation began. It seemed the suspect did not easily admit to the situation. >> I was just in the store shopping for real though. [ __ ] I ain't Look, I don't want to be on, bro. I I'll be chilling for I don't be on none of that. >> It's already after 9:00. You don't think we've required video and stuff to show you getting out of the car? You wouldn't think we had that. >> H >> you don't we have video showing out of that stolen car, you know, >> getting out of >> You don't think with the the car you got out of with your friends? >> What >> the other two that are back there with you? >> What are the two cars that back there? >> I don't. >> So, let's not everyone's intelligent. You want to talk or you want to tell us a fake story that we don't already know. >> That's fine. I mean, we're we're not going to play this game back. >> You know why? You know why you're in here? You >> No, I don't. I'm innocent. >> Nothing about a gun. >> No, I don't know nothing about that. Nothing about no gun. Y'all came in the store and grabbed me for no reason. >> I didn't have to do with nothing. Whatever. Y'all always talking about I don't know [ __ ] ain't my business, but I know I'm an innocent man and I'm ready to go back to my cell right now. >> Just sit tight. Sit tight. We didn't tell you to move yet. >> The second suspect was also questioned with similar questions, but the answers were no different from the first, as if they had planned this in advance. I don't got nothing to talk to y'all about. >> Nothing. >> I ain't do nothing. I was in the store shopping and the police came in and got us. I cooperated. Let them lock me up. I ain't give them a hard time. >> Right. >> What were you shopping for? >> I was going to give me some shoes for my kids. >> When you went to the store, who were you in the store with? >> I was by myself. >> You were by yourself? >> Yes, sir. >> You didn't get out of any car? >> No, sir. >> You walked. How did you get there? A bus. I walked. >> Do you know who those boys are? >> No, sir. I told the officers I didn't know them at all. Uh-huh. And that's the first time you saw him is once you were shopping >> and you drove this car to somewhere in Crestwood. >> Yes. >> And it's in the shopping center 127th in Cisro. >> Yes. >> It should be easy enough to find, right? Businesses. >> If my family didn't move it cuz they probably know that I'm here, they probably been calling my phone and realize I ain't answering my phones. >> So, they probably moved it. >> Thomas, should you be I don't think you're being honest with me. >> Okay, that's fine. I just the car story I don't believe it especially when you're seen getting out of the front only right the front passenger seat. So I just can't get over that that you got out of the front passenger seat whether you did or not right. I'm just saying you're seeing getting out of the front passenger seat of that car. How do I get over that? I'm here you let just let me know. >> Oh sorry I told you everything I I had to say. I don't really got nothing else to say. everything I know. I told you everything that happened. I ain't trying to be an a-hole. >> No, you're not. I'm just >> You're not. And I don't want to be a drag off either, but I don't I still have things that I just can't get around. >> I I told you everything. I don't know what else you want me to say, sir. >> In the end, all three were charged with resisting arrest, possession of a stolen vehicle, battery on an officer, disorderly conduct, obstructing justice, and unlawful possession of a firearm. Refusing to take responsibility only made the situation worse. when someone chose to lie and resist instead of cooperating. The consequences quickly escalated and led to even more serious charges. Next, the man even turned Walmart into his own marathon. >> Somebody call the police on me. >> Absolutely. >> For real. >> Yeah. Come on. >> Who did? >> Who called the police? On August 10th, 2024, officers received a report from a Walmart store about a man who had been committing theft. According to the surveillance footage, he repeatedly glanced around as if he had been preparing for something. Once he had ensured it was safe, he began taking multiple shopping bags and placing them into his cart, showing that this had been a premeditated act. Immediately after, he left the store without paying. At the same time, officers had already arrived and moved in to stop him, which then escalated into a dramatic chase. >> One's right here. Yeah, >> I was trying to see why I stopped here. >> You should just stop. >> Huh? >> You should just stop. >> I did. >> St him up. >> I ain't going to stand up like that. >> All right, roll up. >> I'm trying to. >> I know. >> Please for me. >> I got you. >> What I did though, tell me this. Why y'all was already waiting on me to come out the door? Somebody call the police on me? >> Absolutely. >> For real. >> Yeah. Come on. >> Who did? Who called the police? >> Who was waiting on me? >> All right, listen. Do I got to go to jail? >> Absolutely. >> Why? >> Cuz he ran. >> His act of fleeing had indirectly admitted his own wrongdoing. Yet, he still questioned whether he would be going to jail. Perhaps it was because he felt no real remorse. He even went as far as making desperate pleas. Please, man. I don't even from here. >> Oh, well, man. [ __ ] Father God. Damn. School, man. Hey, man. I ain't I can't say this is not but I got king people that's here with me man. Can I at least tell them? >> You'll be able to tell them at the jail. >> No, I'm talking about here now cuz I ain't going to be able to contact him and let them know nothing, man. 7157 gloves. >> The man appeared remorseful, but in reality, he was only frustrated at being caught red-handed. And now information about him began to be gathered. >> That be O. I'm just saying, man. I'm trying to comply, but I want to I want somebody to know I'm going to jail. >> You can let him know when you get down to the jail. >> Why I got to let him know when I get down there, though, sir? >> What What's your first name? >> It would have been easier if you would have just not done all this. >> I mean, >> so now we're cooperating. We're just going to finish this up and go from there. >> What's your first name? >> Sam. And what's your birthday? >> 89. These cuss are tight. >> All right, we'll check it in just a second. You have a Georgia ID, >> huh? >> You have a Georgia ID? >> I don't. >> Where's it out of? >> Where's it out of? Florida. >> Florida. What's your middle initial, man? >> It wasn't even your arm. It uh you mind skin rash? It's >> all about right here. >> A little blood right there somewhere. Hands. >> At this point, another officer had begun collecting additional evidence from the surveillance cameras and everything only made his guilt even more clear. >> That's when he went to grab bags. >> Yep. Just he he checked in there trying to see if there was a way he could get the guard center. Like I said, we locked it. That's when >> he bags his items. >> Yep. So, we don't I don't actually have him bagging items. He uh was in a blind spot. >> Mhm. >> But there you do have him not going to a register. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Hell yeah. >> There we go. That's all. >> Yeah. Um eventually, >> is there any way you can get all of those different uh >> Oh, yeah. All one disc. Yeah. >> Yeah. Get them in order and everything so y can see. >> That's going to be wonderful. >> Yeah. I got you. Yeah. So come here. >> Hold on. Go back to that one real quick. Go back a little bit. >> Who's that? >> Yeah. So his buddy wasn't a store. He actually just walked off. Um but the but technically he didn't do anything like so I can say, you know, charge him with knowing someone who did a crime, but >> Yeah. But he didn't actually help or anything. >> Yeah. I didn't Okay. >> Oh yeah. Or I would have easily told y'all. Yeah. Mhm. If you wondered why a physically capable man like him did not seek a job and instead turned to theft at this very moment, he was about to give you the answer. Probation. See what I'm saying? Yeah. Yeah. But I didn't wanted to, you know, I I didn't want to so simply was it would it would have been just a Oh, no. Cuz I had all that stuff. I would still go to jail. I can't really hear you though. >> Sam Haywood was charged with felony shoplifting for stealing over $650 worth of goods, obstruction of law enforcement for fleeing from officers, and additional charges related to his four active arrest warrants. Running from the truth only made his situation worse. Instead of taking responsibility, his choices turned a simple crime into a far more serious consequence. Next, the woman escalated the situation over a mere $2 lighter >> trying to walk out with it past me. And I was like, "You're not leaving with the lighter." And then she just puts her hands on me and then goes out. >> Stop resisting. >> Are you serious or what? >> What do you mean? >> Stop resisting. >> On January 2nd, 2025, police responded to a report from Dollar General about a physical altercation. The incident arose because the suspect attempted to take items without paying in full. For more precise details, listen to the testimony of the store employee. >> So, she's been here before. She's always up to no good at doing stuff. But usually, we don't call the cops because they don't get to her in time and it doesn't make a difference. >> But, so she comes she comes back in by the time I come up front and she's trying to pay for the liner and I'm like, "Whatever. I'm just going to let her pay for it so she can go." She doesn't have any money for it. She's like digging around and then she's like, "Can I just get a cheaper one?" I'm like, "Fine." And really, I'm just trying to get her out. Yeah. >> So, she grabs another one and she's trying to give me like change and I'm telling her like, "This is not enough to cover the lighter and she's like, "Well, didn't I give you change and didn't I give you this, give you that?" And she's just like skitsing out or whatever. And I was like, "You didn't give me enough." And um so I'm walking over there towards the lighters with her and um she's trying to walk out with it past me and I was like, "You're not leaving with the lighter." And then she just puts her hands on me and then goes out >> and she like pushes you out of the way. Okay. Do you have video of that by chance or anybody that can access it? >> Um, I can see. >> Okay. Are you the manager? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> In the report, the woman attacked the employee and even more seriously, the victim was pregnant. The manager also provided additional evidence of the incident. >> I don't know what she's trying to do here. >> And whoever called um said that, "Are you pregnant?" >> Yeah. >> Okay. How many how how far along are >> eight months? Oh my goodness. >> Yeah. >> Do you want to pursue charges? >> Honestly, I wouldn't have even called. The other lady was being a little more aggressive than me, but I mean to be fair, she shouldn't be doing stuff like that. So, >> but it's totally up to you. >> Yeah, we can. >> Okay. >> Just cuz I feel like she needs to some. She's crazy. >> Yeah. Is this her? >> This is her hair. Yeah. So, she's just grabbing and touching. I'm telling her and she's like, "I want this one instead." And I'm like, "Okay, that's fine." Like, I don't care. like just give me the change. And then at that point, she's like, "Didn't I give you some money already?" And I'm like, "You didn't." >> Yeah. Okay. But she didn't actually make it outside with any merchandise. >> No, she did. >> Oh, she did. And is it gone gone now? Like she took it? >> She took it? Yeah. I mean, it's just a lighter. It's not a big deal. But at the same time, like you just keep letting people get away with it. They're just going to keep coming in and doing it. >> And moreover, during the search for the suspect who fled after the incident, a witness came forward. She gave a statement that matched the store's account and also revealed details highlighting the suspect's arrogance. >> The lady said $144 >> and she gave her $130 or something like that. >> And the lady the the c the employee said you you didn't give me enough. And she's like here. And she like threw a penny or a dime. I don't know what it was. And she said I'll just [ __ ] steal it. So the lady goes down and the the employee goes out and she said you're not you're not leaving. >> Yeah. and she's standing there and the lady, you know, as she's going, she's pushing her and then she open-handedly pushed her. So that's when I went out and I said, "How dare you put your hands on a pregnant woman?" Yeah. >> For a lighter, you crackhead. I did. I I I was so livid. And um I said, "Over a lighter?" >> She take off towards like Town Center or something. >> Well, she went behind. So >> Oh, I see. Okay. >> Yeah. So, I don't know if she like I tried to look in the woods like there was some balloons back there, but I didn't >> we could not find her. But I'm sending out like an attempt to locate and everything like that. >> She had a silver bike. Looked like silver. >> Yeah, it looked like a pricey bike, you know. >> Um >> like a mountain style type bike, beach cruiser, what >> a bigger one. Not like a BMX or >> No, no, no. Definitely like a high, you know, high style, but >> she had something over her face. Looked like she maybe had a wig on. Yeah. >> Um, some >> I guess she the manager, the lady, she pushed said that she comes in often >> and like does this kind of [ __ ] all the time and like return stuff or tries to return things to get like beer and cigarettes. >> Yeah. Yeah, she was definitely on something, >> right? >> Yeah, she did have a Arizona um can. I don't know what was in it, but she did have that. And of lighter like >> Yeah. Well, >> for your drugs. I don't know. But I was I was furious. >> No, I get it. And that's, you know, and luckily, you know, >> and on the same day, police located the suspect's residence. She was identified as Maria Gritzy. When officers tried to make contact, she deliberately stayed inside, forcing them to communicate with her through the door. >> How you doing? You mind if I talk to you for a minute? >> Well, I need to talk to you for a second, >> ma'am. I need to talk to you for a second. Okay. I want to talk about Were you at the Dollar General earlier today? >> No. >> No. >> No. >> Can you tell me what happened there? >> No. >> You don't know what I'm talking about? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I went and got some food. That's right. >> You went to got some food? >> Yes. >> Where'd you get a Where'd you get food at? >> Uh at Publix. >> At Publix? >> Yes. >> And you didn't go to the Dollar General at all? >> All right. Um, so listen, we have we have video footage of you in the Dollar General, >> okay? So, I'm just trying to get your side of story on things. Obviously, you were there. So, what what happened? >> That's not what I said. Why are you changing the story, bro? Come on. I woke up. I just told you I woke up. >> Okay. >> I'm not going to [ __ ] get words put on my mouth. I went to the fruit by section at I'm sorry as I already forgot as sorry I just Publix. >> All right. >> Um and uh and I just walked out of Publix and I said Publix I went straight home. >> The woman denied the allegations against her claiming they were fabricated. However, as police questioned her about certain details, inconsistencies began to emerge, revealing signs of deception in her statements. >> Were you riding your bike? >> Oh, no, no, no. I just walked. >> Oh, you walked? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah. I don't I didn't go I didn't go that high. >> It's just a It's just a It's been like this since I was born. Um, usually walk >> I know you before you said you ride your bike all the way to Daytona. So >> Oh, yeah. I usually ride my uh Pial bike, which is upside down right now. >> It's upside down. >> I mean, like I'm fixing a wheel on it, but um uh it's actually at the >> Well, I'm sorry. It's >> It's Will you do a smooth swap of a tire? >> I'm sorry. I'm so tired. You don't have your bike here. >> I haven't got my bike here. >> You do? >> Oh, I thought you said it was upside down somewhere. >> No, it's upside down. I took off the tire. I have the the smell tires >> taken off and I usually put sign in there. >> Is it in the back? >> Um, yes. Yes. >> Do you mind if I just look at her? >> No, I do. I do. >> Okay. >> Police had to halt the investigation that day as they lacked grounds to make contact with the woman inside her home. On January 6th of the same year, when she appeared outside, officers quickly seized the opportunity to take action. >> Maria, stop for a second. Come here. >> What do I need? What do you say? >> I need to tell. Listen. Okay. >> I don't need to stop for your >> Yes, you do. Okay. Listen to me. What do you want? All right. So, right now, >> this is like the eighth time you guys around. >> Like you guys always stop. >> Okay. Listen. You're going to jail reference. >> For what? >> Listen. >> I'll tell you in a second. As soon as you Excuse me. >> Stop resisting. >> Are you serious? For what? >> For what? Stop resisting. >> What? For what? What do you want from me? >> Other way. Flip. >> What are you guys arresting me for? >> Close it. >> What are you arresting me for? >> We'll explain to you in just a minute. So, you're going to jail for aggravated battery. You pushed a pregnant person at the Dollar General the other day. Okay. >> I never pushed anybody out. >> Yes, you did. We have you on video. >> I never pushed anybody. >> We have you on video. >> I never pushed anybody. >> We have you on video. >> Aggravated battery. Have you on video? >> No. No. I paid for my lighter and I was trying to get out of there. >> That's another shoplifting and aggravated battery. Okay, let me see the ticket, please. >> What ticket? >> Yeah. >> I never pushed anybody. I just She was blocking the entrance. You're right. >> You put your hands on her. >> I did not put my hands on her. >> You can't block the entrance. >> Are you kidding me? >> Here, I got to move the cones a little bit. >> Other door. Other door. >> Stay right here for a second. >> I'll close it. I got to put my hands. >> Do we have video of this? >> I would like to see the video. Can I get a >> No, that's not true. You guys are >> Do you have anything on you, Maria? It's going to poke me, stab me, or anything. >> By denying her actions, she indirectly confirmed her presence at the scene of the incident. Regarding what she had done, police also prompted her to help her recall the events. >> I'll talk to you >> when you're So, you did go to the Dollar General that day. I >> it was on the second. >> I don't I don't remember when it was. I don't know. >> But you remember getting a lighter and stuff like that? >> Um >> I don't know. I don't uh I remember Yeah, I remember being for a lighter. Yeah. Yeah. But I'm not sure what the date was for it. >> Okay, no problem. But it was during the day and then you got out of the Were you riding your bicycle then? >> Uh I don't I don't recall >> by the way. But um >> So when you were leaving the store, did you push anyone or >> No, I really didn't. >> Okay. Did anybody get in front of you or anything like that when you were trying to leave? >> Um, yes. But she was blocking the entrance. Okay. Um, sorry, my hair is in my mouth and I can't even breathe. >> I'm so thirsty. Um, uh, and um, I'm sorry. I can't Can I get my hair out of my mouth, please? It's so ridiculous. Could you please >> I can't unlock those now. >> Um, sorry. I was just been working all morning. Um, I can't believe that. I would never do that. I would never do that to somebody. I would never push or hurt somebody. >> Okay. So, what happened when she got in front of you? >> I think uh honestly, I'm not sure why why they don't like me. I paid. My intention was completely right. I think I dropped 10 cents. Okay. >> Uh and I tried to pick it up and maybe she thought that I was doing something wrong. >> Is this your cell phone? >> And yes, please. >> Although the suspect claimed she did not remember the events, she recounted her actions in considerable detail, yet in a way that minimized her responsibility. Even in the transport vehicle, she continued to insist on her innocence. So, I watched the video and then I took a still shot of well you in the store via the video camera. >> And uh >> and what? >> What do you mean? >> There's no way that I would There was no way that I was pushing with my head and battery. >> Okay. So, listen. Like whether we argue about this right now or not, it's not going to change a thing. How could you make that a battery, sir? Battery is like something that you have marks or >> No, it's not. You can literally just touch someone. It's battery. Okay. It's the unwilling touching or strike of a person. Okay. >> Sure. She's blocking me. She's blocking my entrance. But how do you know? >> Okay. Nobody put their hands on you, though. That's my thing. Put >> their body on me. They put their body on me. Was Is that okay? >> I'm not arguing about it, Maria. Not happening. I already told you this is not the time to argue about it. go bring it to the judge and I'll give it there. >> I would like when I follow I mean I would like to charge that's against the law. >> Okay. >> The woman was charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant victim and theft by shoplifting. The woman's attempt to deny and downplay her actions only highlighted her arrogance and lack of accountability, serving as a clear lesson on how evading responsibility can escalate consequences. This
