Put your hands on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. >> You got to stop drinking, Ashley. You need to sit in jail for a while. You're a danger to the community. Stop moving around. >> Like she's holding like this stuff in the other hand. Like that's also like she's not going to scan actually. >> Because she shoplifted from Walmart. Um she went in with her and the two kids. >> As times advanced and the value of money kept rising, so did the greed of certain individuals pushing them to commit reckless acts like filling an entire cart without paying. But how would it all end? Stay tuned for today's video. Woman caught stealing an entire cart full from Walmart. We are This is Law. Don't forget to like and subscribe. Starting with this woman, she grew even more anxious when she got caught. But was it real or just an act? >> She got away on us. I don't know what happened. >> This is the I just want >> running around. No more running around. No more running around. And I'm going to place you in handcuffs. >> On March 16th, 2025, officers received a report of a shoplifting incident at a local supermarket where the suspect was believed to be a woman who attempted to skip scan several items. But to understand the situation in greater detail, it was best to hear directly from this employee's statement. >> Actually, it's >> Okay. >> She scanned some stuff, didn't and we like we had a receipt, checked everything. The thing that she didn't scan are right over there. It came out to like $102, which I believe over 75 we need to call the police guys, so that's why we did. Uh and that's all. >> So it was over over $100? >> $102.62, I believe, exactly. >> $102.62? >> Yeah. >> I got her ID. I don't know if it's a legit ID. Like it's an identification card. I wouldn't even be able to tell if it is legit. She spent a copy of >> Are you guys Are you guys following through with the the charging with a state offense today? >> Well, you got to ask the manager. He's right over there. But yeah, I would double check with him. >> Yeah, yeah, right here. >> Oh, good. I got to get up and take a picture. >> At the same time, officers received information that the woman had attempted to leave, prompting them to quickly pursue her. But what shocked them was her attitude. >> Yeah, where are we going? Come on. Why are you trying to run? Come on. >> I'm just so scared now. >> I understand. I understand your point. But there's no reason to run. >> Please, I got to go home. I got to go home. I got to go home tonight. >> Unfortunately, let's stand back up, okay? Let's go Let's go back over here on the curb, all right? Yep. Let's not go too fast now, all right? >> I got to go home tonight. >> All right. Let's hang out over here, okay, miss? Miss? >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> It's all right. Just to let you know you're being recorded audio video on our body cameras, okay? >> All right. I'm so sorry. Please. >> It's all right. It's all right. You got your ID with you, miss? >> I don't know what I did with it. >> You don't know what you did with it? >> No. >> I think you just had it a second ago. >> did. Please. Please. >> You mind looking for it? >> Please let me go home. Please let me go. Please let me go home. >> So unfortunately, at this point, that's kind of out of our hands, okay? >> Please let me go home. Please. >> It's all right, miss. >> I know we're past that right now. I'm sorry. >> Please. I am so sorry. Please. >> Now, you mind You mind looking for that ID? Take your time, you know, enjoy your cigarette. >> Please let me go home. Please let >> Nope. Nope. Nope. >> I know I'm not going to I didn't think that. I didn't think that. I'm not running anymore. I'm not running. >> Sit down. Sit down. >> I I am going to be patient. >> Okay. Okay. Sit down. >> going to be patient. I apologize, you guys. I apologize. Please let me go home. Please. >> Unfortunately, we're past that point, okay? I believe based off of shoplifting policy, you are going to have to be placed under arrest today for shoplifting, all right? >> Please. >> It was clear that she knew exactly what was happening, yet she still tried to push the entire cart out of the store. That made her panic seem confusing, as she even appeared to use it to make things harder for the officers. Where are we going? Where are we going? >> I I just need to breathe. I just need >> No more running around. No more running around. >> don't touch me. Please don't touch me. >> No more running around. I'm going to place you in handcuffs. >> I don't want to run around. >> All right, sit down. Sit down. All right. >> Okay, here we go. I'm very cordial with you. Like we >> Enjoy your cigarette, all right? You going to work with us now? >> Yes, I am. I'm sorry. >> Okay, so where's the ID? >> I apologize for stealing. >> Okay, I understand that you apologize, but your word's past it. All right? So, now we just have to We're trying to get your ID. Where's your ID? You got your ID on you? >> I'm going to find it. I will find it. I got to find it. Again, I apologize. >> I think they scanned it. They They might have it. >> They They scanned it. No, thanks. No. Please, I I apologize for everything. I am I am sorry. Please, let me go home. Please, let me just go home to my baby. Please, I have a baby. I am sorry I wasn't running running from >> Where's your ID? Do you have it? >> I got to be scanned. It's It's in there. If you guys want to go back in there, I'll I'll go back in there. >> Do you got any pictures of it or anything? >> Uh they they have a picture of it inside. >> The woman took advantage of her condition to refuse returning to the store to resolve the situation, which made the officers suspicious that she was creating an opportunity to escape. >> Yeah, I promise you I won't run. I promise you guys could You could hold me down. You guys could hold my hand. I just I don't want to go to the hospital. Please. >> All right. >> Please. >> Get handcuffs on her. >> It's all right. >> All right. >> Please. >> Uh we are going to put you in handcuffs here, okay? Listen, we're going to let you sit here. All right, we're going to work with you. But, we got to put you in handcuffs. >> Okay? Just cuz we're we're concerned about you running away. >> All right. >> We're very concerned about you running away. I know you're telling me that, but you did just try to run away, correct? >> I didn't know you guys were going to call. I didn't know the cops were here. I thought everything was done. They said they were calling the cops. I really didn't believe them. I didn't know who the cops were here until you guys came outside. >> Okay. Well, it's still it's not okay to run. So, he said >> just wanted my ID. He wanted me to sign something and then that was it. And then he he scanned everything. That was it. That was it. >> we're going to keep you out here. Okay? We're going to keep you open air, fresh air. We're not going to enclose you nowhere, but we are going to put you in handcuffs, okay? I'll I'll hang out with you, though. We'll let you do one more cigarette, all right? >> At that moment, another officer worked alongside the loss prevention employee to gather evidence related to the incident, but based on the employee's statement, it seemed this was not her first time. >> All the time. And always does late transactions, always late. >> Mhm. >> I was today, I was like, I don't know. I said this is wrong, man. Yeah, she she didn't want to come in the room. >> All right, you can hear? >> Yeah, she didn't want to She was like, I feel uncomfortable and um I was like, all right, it's not you know, I'm not I'm not going to force anything. >> The scanning is going in the red bag, right? >> Yeah. >> Right now. >> Well, like she's holding like this stuff in the other hand. Like that's also like she's not going to scan it. She's just going to bag it. >> Actually, yeah. >> She got two items in the left hand. Yeah. >> Is it busy today? >> No, it's been pretty good. >> Returning to the woman after everything had been clarified, the officers quickly moved forward with their next course of action. >> Take about half an hour or something like that, all right? >> I can I call my sister and tell her to come >> I'm going to go talk >> I want to talk to her. Her sister is over there. >> All right. We're going to go in the car over here. All right, far away. >> Okay. >> All right. >> We'll go We'll get the groceries to you. >> Yeah, pick up. >> I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. >> You're all right. >> Can I take them to the pickup or to the 7-Eleven? >> Yeah, put it in 7-Eleven. I'm just going to I I got to ask her sister real quick. >> Please stop. Please don't leave. Stop. Okay, please don't leave. Don't leave. Driver's license. >> Okay, come here. >> Come here. >> We're going to go on this side, okay? >> I don't know what one. >> I know. I know. We got you. All right, one sec. One sec. Don't run in the street. All right, I don't want you to get hit by a car or anything. I know it's like an empty parking lot, but >> I don't know where to go. >> And you got nothing in You got no pockets, all right? >> have no pockets. >> All right. All right, just stay right here. You're okay. You're okay. You're okay. >> I'll open >> One sec. One sec. All right, we're going to just pat you down with the back of our hand, okay? >> Okay. Okay. >> All right. Just face the car from me real quick, all right? You have nothing >> on you, right? >> Okay. >> I know. We should be clearly seeing you got no pockets and stuff, so you're good. >> A short time later her relative arrived and it seemed she had an explanation for the woman's condition. >> Was it something or >> She's schizophrenic and she is a god. >> I mean, I just have a 4.5 >> Okay, now are you concerned with her mental behavior at this time? >> Earlier she wasn't responding. Like she went off on her own. We shopped. she did her own shopping, I did my shopping. In the store she called me and she's like, "I'm going to the register. I'm going to pay cuz I want to go outside and smoke." I went and got dino nuggets and I was like really slow. I actually got Well, he left on a skateboard, but he helped me cuz I didn't know how to do it. I just moved here from New York. How to do the self-scan everything. >> [laughter] >> And then the guy told me she's She stole and then knowing this is like a shock to me. Like I did not expect this whatsoever. I'm like I looked at the guy like, "Who would want to steal at this hour at night?" I'm walking out and I was in complete shock cuz it's her. >> I get you. Now, now, is this behavior new or has it happened before or >> She's always had a little behaviors, but stealing is something new to me. >> No, I get you. Now, I'm more concerned with her her mental stability. >> In the end, she was ultimately charged with shoplifting. A moment of panic or desperation can never justify dishonest actions because the consequences will always follow, no matter how hard someone tries to avoid them. Next, we came to the chaos of a woman who believed she was entitled to it all. >> Roll over. >> Wow. >> Sit in the car. >> I thought I was minding my business acting like an adult already. Please don't touch me. Please don't touch me. >> On the 30th of March, 2024, police received a call from a Target store after a woman caused a disturbance there, but it didn't stop there as the employee's statement revealed there was much more that needed to be uncovered. >> Yeah, she's She's been like kissing people's babies and has all her >> your merchandise right there. >> Oh, she has your merchandise on? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> She has your shopping cart. >> How many times have you asked her to leave? >> Three times and she runs away saying I'm harassing her. >> She has your cart right here. That's her right there in the all blue. >> [music] >> Hello, police department. >> Huh? >> Hi. >> Hi. >> So, the store has asked you to leave. Could you please remove that merchandise and leave? >> I can't leave. I can remove my merchandise. >> Thank you. >> And then you can leave. >> Yeah, and then the next thing you know they It was the first time. They called the police on me again. >> Tell her to Drop the purse. Take the shoe off. >> This You don't know what's mine. >> It's got the tag on it. >> You don't know that. And my shoes are over there. You don't know what I know. >> are your >> Perhaps she believed she had the right to use items she hadn't paid for, because when she was caught, she didn't seem to care. But her actions only made everything more tense. >> I didn't do anything wrong. >> Listen. I'm not submitting to >> to get down on the ground. On the ground. >> tell her that then. >> Stop. >> I'm not going to jail. I didn't do anything wrong. You can do this to my child, too. Really? >> Roll over. Roll over. Roll over. Here. Hold on. Pull that arm this way. >> Come on. >> 110, we're fighting. Here. Hold on. Here. That one went under her body. Hold that one. Women's clothing. >> Ow! She [ __ ] bit me! Stop it! You're hurting me, you stupid jackass! Stop it! >> I got to fill out this one. I'm trying to put these back. >> Stop it! You're hurting me, you stupid [ __ ] >> Stop fighting. >> Who's fighting? >> You are. >> How so? >> You literally almost bit my >> I'm fighting! You're literally making me! You better have a key to my [ __ ] car. >> The police truly struggled just to get the handcuffs on the woman, but it seems she refused to submit as she still used her mouth to lash out her anger. >> Stop. You cannot throw me up in the back. >> That one? That one? >> Pretty sure she [ __ ] herself. >> Yeah. >> Get your knee off me. >> You okay? >> Yeah, she hit my finger. >> Get your [ __ ] knee off my [ __ ] ankle. >> Stop. >> You're hurting my wrist. When you break it, I'll let you know who did it. Okay. >> Well, you need to stop fighting us. >> You need to stop making me. >> You're We're not. >> Oh, you certainly are. You started from the start. Soon as you walked up to me, you [ __ ] started harassing me. No, I'm not going to cooperate. If you were so cooperative, you wouldn't have [ __ ] wrestled me down to the floor. >> Listen. >> I have property in that [ __ ] truck. >> Listen. >> In the truck. >> Stop. >> In the truck. I have property in the truck that you have the key to. >> Okay. >> The four truck >> to give you one opportunity to put your hands to walk out of Okay? If you don't, you're going to go in a route. >> with my property. >> Okay. One opportunity. We're going to stand you up, okay? >> So, the woman had successfully refused her chance to leave easily and grew even more arrogant, believing she could make demands of the police the entire way during the escort. >> No, you're lying to me again. Stop it. You're hurting me. Why are you doing this? >> I think they just It's >> Stop it. You're hurting my wrist. Don't break my wrist again. Don't break my wrist again. I have an x-ray that can prove my wrist has been broken. You want to break my wrist again? Go right ahead. Are you not a male? That's a male. >> She's requesting a female. >> I didn't request a female. I said you're not a male. And that's that's a male. Exactly. I don't want to say word either. Okay. I'll get the clothes off the jail. Oh wow at the jail. I'm getting arrested for I think she pooped herself. Who called the medic? Oh wow wow wow don't touch my butt. You think I pooped myself? Feel like a god damn baby. Why are you twisting my wrist? I told you you broke it once already. I have an x-ray that can be You need to stop. Stop. You need to stop. You're the problem. And everyone's going to stand around while this happens? I hope someone has a captain. It's not funny. Don't touch me this time. Act like an adult. Wow. I thought I was minding my business acting like an adult already. Please don't touch me. Please don't touch me. I feel so violated really. I might poop myself. Then get in the car. Who the hell are you? Don't touch me. Don't get my face. At that moment the woman realized nothing was going her way so her frustration became obvious even as if she believed she had the right to be upset with the police. What's your name? Where are you from? You just told me I can hear him. What's your name? No name. All right, I'm just going to have to get my fingerprint area your finger. So Sarah. Okay, Sarah what? What's your last name? What? What's your last name? What did you say? What is your last name? Canady. Can you lean forward real quick? I got to get your get your thumbs. You got to get my thumbs? If you could just push your thumb like that. So your right thumb? You don't have to do anything. I didn't do anything. I never did. So I have to push down. >> I never did anything. I never had a chance to. >> Cyrus >> I could not. >> It's not working. >> Do you have anything on your fingers? Sorry, this is There's no reason your fingers is not picking up. There you go. Okay, let's see the other one. >> No, I I don't know what the extent was of this. >> What's that buzzing thing on your left hand? >> It just gives me confirmation that it registered. >> Yep. >> I'm alive. >> She was charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, and battery on police officer with additional outstanding warrants further worsening her situation. Actions have consequences, and refusing to take responsibility can quickly turn a minor situation into serious charges. Next, these two women still had deeper secrets behind their theft. >> Are you guys coming up with our species? >> Yeah. Let's deal with the red spider did you? >> Did you come in and you were like maybe I could kind of look like a Target employee kind of thing? >> No. >> On December 9th, 2025, police were dispatched to Target after their loss prevention team detained two women for shoplifting. Upon arrival, both were immediately asked to lay out all the evidence in a deeply embarrassing manner. >> Put them on the on the desk, please. Okay. Are you guys coming up with our species? >> Yes. >> You guys are? >> Okay. >> What's you guys' first names? >> Um >> Caitlin? What's your first name? >> Do you have an ID? >> Huh? >> An ID? >> Um student card. >> Student card. What do you do? Do you have any ID? >> Um no, I don't. >> What's your name? >> It's Tristyn. >> Say it again. >> Tristyn. >> Tristyn? >> Yeah. >> How do you spell that? >> M I S T >> M I S >> Yes. T R I >> T R I >> Yes. >> And then your last name? >> Lopez >> Lopez, spell that for me. Right after recovering a table full of stolen items, the store employees began questioning the reasons behind the women's actions. >> Um Is this for personal use? Are you guys doing this to >> Personal. >> It was it just for Christmas or >> Yeah, no, mine is personal. I just I recently lost like all my stuff in a car accident, and so it's like really expensive to like replace makeup [ __ ] so >> Sure, yeah, totally understand. Yeah, makeup is not cheap. >> Embarrassing, but no, it really is. >> I I hate this is a step in the right direction. I appreciate you guys. >> I really do. >> Um Okay. Have you guys ever been caught for shoplifting before? >> No. >> Okay. >> It's not typical for either. I knew I still felt something that I shouldn't have. >> No, I appreciate you. Thank you so much. Thank you, thank you. >> That's everything. >> So, this is everything that was on you. Okay. There's nothing else. >> Clearly, up to that point, both appeared cooperative. However, the investigation showed that only the woman in the red sweater attempted to take items and pass them to her friend, raising serious suspicion that there was more behind the situation. >> So, this is everything that was on you. Okay. There's nothing else, for sure. Okay. And then Mistry And this Let's deal with the red sweater. Did you come in and you were like maybe I could kind of look like a Target >> No. >> No, okay, just coincidence. >> I just like I only honestly didn't even plan on taking anything, but then when I figured I could hide one or two, I was like, well, I need more stuff, and I'm not going to like want to do this all the time. This is like >> Of course, yeah, it's it's not a situation anybody's proud of. So, again, I I appreciate you guys. It's it's not the funnest thing in the world. Um but I'll just get down to the the basic stuff that I need from you guys. Um the first portion of it is, all I need from you is your history. If you do me a favor, it's just you don't have to necessarily put down everything that you're putting in your clothing. All I just need from you here is just in your words what happened. That's it. For that orange line, I'll have you do the same in a second. And just to let you guys know, obviously this situation comes with a trespass. First offense, I'm just going to give you guys a year. Okay? It's not going to be indefinite. You guys can come back after a year. So can you do me a favor and let's not do it again, okay? >> And that was what the store based its decision on, judging from the women's actions. Yet it seemed the woman in the red sweater intended to take the blame for it. >> It was not something that she typically would have done, or even then, or I typically would have done, but I couldn't get everything I needed, so I had asked her if she would do me the favor and like she wasn't really comfortable and I feel really bad, but honestly this is not like in her character. Like those were all items that were stolen. >> Okay. I'll I'll make sure to note that in the document. >> All right. Thank you. >> Um, like the fact of the matter is though, >> I mean, we are >> Yeah, no, I understand and she's capable of making her own choices. But I I just don't >> Just got to be in better circumstances. >> Yeah. What day is today? >> Today is the 9th. Just have a couple of things for you to sign real quick and then whatever. I'm sorry. Um, so all you're putting, you don't necessarily have to put everything that you put in inside of like concealment. All that I need you to do there is just in your words what happened. Okay? Um, over the situation, it can just be a couple of sentences. It doesn't have to be anything crazy. It's whatever you want to put on there because that will be a document that um, does go to court. >> Can I get a total amount for each? >> Sure. See and then can I get a total amount for each receipt? That's what I'm going to go grab right this second. >> And then I'll um, I'll send you a link for the video chat. >> At this moment, police quickly uncovered some information about one of the women, revealing that her record was far from clean as she had previously claimed. >> I >> Uh, she has a warrant, so she's going to jail. >> For what? >> Shoplifting. >> That's the thing with that. I was here yesterday and we were talking. Yeah. >> If it's >> telephonic warrant, they're not going to look up whether or not you have a warrant sometimes. Because it's telephonic warrant even then. And then if they don't have access or they're not specifically looking for the warrant, they won't let you know. >> They will search my name. >> They will search your name, but like I said, if they're not specifically looking at whether or not you have a warrant. >> No, that's what they told her. They said, "We're looking to see if you have >> Where was this? >> Um right here at the district. >> Yeah, the district court doesn't have access to NCIC. >> What's that? >> National Crime Information Center. >> And then I called my pre-trial services yesterday and they said that I have >> They don't have access to NCIC. They have to be a law enforcement officer to have them. >> Do you know like if it's um like a missing person? >> Search warrant. >> All right. >> And for Ms. History and for Ms. Kayla. >> For Ms. History Lopez, your total amount shoplifting today was $390 and 95 cents. >> Um um >> What's that? >> How can I go about paying >> Uh the other one is $44. Uh the 4107. Yeah. >> How can I go about paying you guys what what I owe? >> Um so it's it's going to be entirely up to corporate. My job is just to get you guys to come back here and to cooperate. When you guys do cooperate, I'll let >> Ms. Your total amount is 4107. >> And it'll be up to them. So you guys haven't made a big stink. You guys have been super cooperative with them. >> And it seemed neither woman could take responsibility for the other as both were certain to face consequences at that moment. >> Uh just so you guys know, you guys are being trespassed as we already mentioned, but you're also being trespassed by us. So if you guys do come back here, you guys will be automatically arrested. >> Okay. >> No, no, no. I'll just have you just keep your hands up here so that way it doesn't touch your body. >> Yeah, they really Yeah. Really? >> You can turn around. I'm just going to search you up here. >> All right. >> You're going to the jail, too. >> Oh, I didn't know. >> Yeah. >> Really? Um yeah. >> [snorts] >> Why? >> I don't I he was wondering. >> Well, he's not here, so really makes it impossible at this point. >> Yeah, it's possible. >> Also, the and your ankle breaks. >> come off. It's permanent. >> Your ankle bracelet? >> Yeah, totally. >> Okay, I'm just saying because at the jail they're going to make you try and take it off. >> I know. I've dealt with that before. They're not going to be able to. It's permanent. >> Okay, I'm just letting you know. It's a simple thing. >> I don't want this off. This is my engagement ring. Yeah, I'm telling you. I'm not going to be the one that's keeping it. I'm turning it into DCFS. >> I'm just letting you know. >> You let them know that. Well, I'm letting you know, too. Cuz I put it in your hand. Is that your phone? >> Yes, it is. Cuz you guys broke my phone last time. >> Is that your ticket? >> Yes, it is. Yes, it >> Can you just do me a favor and put your hands away from your body? Put your hands back away from your body. >> Both women were charged with retail theft with one also facing additional consequences due to an outstanding warrant. A single poor decision, even if influenced by someone else, still carries personal consequences. Taking responsibility early is always better than facing heavier outcomes later. Next, this woman's situation became so bad that it required the presence of her own mother. >> And she paid for about $25 worth of um like groceries and stuff, but she tried leaving with about $300 of unpaid items. >> What did you do with him? >> I didn't even I didn't even bring it with me cuz I said I want my money back. >> On the 6th of April, 2025, police stopped a vehicle on the road after suspecting it was connected to a theft. As soon as they approached, the woman immediately showed an uncooperative attitude. >> How long am I She said it was a paint. How long am I detained? >> Well, right now you're under going to be under arrest. So, that's why you're getting out of the car. >> I didn't steal anything. >> Okay, well, we're going to figure that out. >> But then by this time it may be too late if I if I get arrested. >> option at this point. >> Well, so Tiana, here's the deal. I've watched all the video by Florida State statute, okay? You walked out of the store without paying for items. >> I did not walk out. >> Okay. >> I did not go outside outside. I was not outside. >> Okay, you passed all points of sale. That's what that means. But, the situation was far from simple as the woman was believed to have committed the act alongside younger individuals, forcing officers to work with the suspect's mother to ensure their safety. Now, Keana is detained, okay? The reason why is because she shoplifted from Walmart. Um she went in with her and the two kids. Um she paid for about $25 worth of um like groceries and stuff, but she tried leaving with about $300 of unpaid items. All right. So, um whenever we showed up here, they gave us a description of the vehicle, they gave us a description of her. Um we've obviously located her right here, which is just within a very short distance of Walmart. Um and since then, she's been less than cooperative with us. Um but, she was wanting for uh her kids if in the very least if you would be to take your children for and stuff like that. >> Can I get the kids, please? >> Yeah, we'll make sure that you get the kids and stuff like that and get everything taken care of. >> got that fire. >> I don't know. >> money. >> Right. >> You know, I'm a I'm an insurance broker. I make over $100,000 a year. I got money. >> You know, I I honestly don't know. Um do me a favor. What we would like for you to do is I think that the kids will probably be calm enough with us if what we can do is we can just have her step out. We can take care of stuff away from the kids, okay? Because we don't want them seeing all this that's going on. She does have to go in handcuffs, she does have to be patted down, go in the vehicle and stuff like that. We'll let you come in and start taking care of the kids and stuff, right? And then we're Huh? >> Is my car here? >> Um yeah, we'll figure that out. So, I don't think the vehicle is registered to her. We'll get that stuff lined out, but let us get this squared away and then we'll either decide if the kids need to come to your car or if you're taking hers or what what's going on exactly, okay? Returning to the suspect, the officers tried to explain what they were trying to resolve, but she seemed more concerned about herself than anything else. >> We're going to try to be as respectful as possible with you and your family here, cuz these are your kids, right? Okay. What we would like if possible, and if you will agree with it, is we would like for you to turn off the car and step out and walk back here with us. Okay, so that way we don't do anything in front of the kids and we don't have any issues. Is that okay? Are you a good with agreeing with that? All right. >> How long am I She said I was detained. How long am I detained for? >> Right now you're under going to be under arrest. So, that's why you're getting out of the car. >> I didn't steal anything. >> Okay. >> Well, we're we're going to figure that out. But then by that time it may be too late if I if I get arrested. >> an option at this point. >> Well, so Tiana, here's the deal is I've watched all the video. By Florida state statute, okay, you walked out of the store without paying for items. >> I did not walk out. >> Okay. Well >> not go outside outside. I was not outside. >> Okay, you passed all points of sale. That's what that means. Tiana, this officer wants to ask you some more questions whenever we get done with this, okay? Soon as we get these in and you're secured in the back of my car, I'm going to have your momma go up there with the kids, okay? >> The officers successfully detained the woman, and only after some persuasion did she finally present her side of the story. >> Well, I went back to the They accused me. I came in there. I went back to the um register. I checked my gift cards. Um a woman helped me in the front. Yeah, a woman helped me in the front. I checked my gift cards, and then I returned something, and then I left. >> Okay. >> I didn't steal anything. >> So, let's let's let's start back from that, okay? When did you come When did you decide to come to Walmart? Was it this morning? This afternoon? Was it spur of the moment? >> Um I was coming from the Villages, so um you know, I just needed to stop by. >> Okay. Where do you live at? >> I live in the Villages as well. >> You live in the Villages. Coming from the Villages, living in the Villages. And you came here to this Walmart. >> Yeah, because I was getting ready to have a gathering. >> Like a family gathering? Okay. All right. It's fine. So, you stopped by Walmart, do some grocery shopping, right? >> Mhm. I got I got like a few things. Yeah. >> Got a few things. What was a few things? >> Um so >> What was the stuff? >> Uh peanut butter >> Okay. >> bread, peanut butter, um I got some juice. And um some chips for the kids. >> Okay. About how much was all of that? >> Um roughly about maybe a little about 40 bucks, roughly. >> 40 bucks might be a rough estimate or something like that. Okay. She was not even certain about the amount she had paid, despite admitting that she made a payment, which immediately led officers to question her payment process. Well, okay. In the beginning, which one did you go through first? >> Self-scan. >> Self-scan first. Okay. So, you you got the stuff, right? And then you went to what? Customer service or like a normal >> Uh customer service. >> Customer service. >> The machine the lady came over to help with the machine, but it wasn't It wasn't functioning. >> Okay. All right. So you did that and then you tried to leave, right? Cuz you were done. Went to the doors. >> No, I went to the customer service. >> After After customer service, yeah. Yeah, you check your you return an item, you check your gift card balances and stuff like that, and you walk out. You and your two kids from this Walmart. You got stopped inside the vestibule past all points of sale by a large man in a gray shirt that identified himself as asset protection, right? >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, you followed him? >> No, I didn't. >> Didn't what? >> I didn't follow him. >> You didn't follow him? >> No. >> Okay. Did you follow somebody else? >> Yeah, I followed this woman. I kept asking her like, "What's the problem?" And >> Okay. >> she wouldn't tell me anything. >> Wouldn't tell you? >> After a while I said, "Um you're not going to tell me what's the problem?" And they said, "Yeah, just come with me." And I said, "I'm not coming with you anywhere." >> Okay. >> I said, "I'm not coming with you anywhere." >> Mhm. >> And then I walked out the door. >> And then you walked out the door. Okay. So, what about the items that you paid for? Did you What did you do with them? >> I didn't even I didn't even bring it with me cuz I said I want my money back. >> Okay. That was her entire story, but the suspicious details did not stop there as officers began pointing out more inconsistencies. So, it it it your story's starting to fall apart here. Who on earth goes into the store Hear me out. Who on earth goes into the store, does that, goes back up, and is following this, you know, an employee, and then tells customer service, "Hey, I want my money back." but then just leaves without getting their money or taking the items that they paid for. I mean, I I do a lot of grocery shopping. Malcolm, you do a lot of grocery shopping. I've never had that happen, have you? Okay. >> He stated I wasn't going to get my money back, so I said, "Okay. If you're not going to give me my money back, I'll just do a dispute." >> Okay. >> That's why I stayed there. >> Okay. All right. So, let me ask you this. While you were loading your shopping cart full of items, and you only paid for approximately $25 worth with supposedly a gift card, I believe is what it was. Or was it What kind of card did you pay with it for? >> Um a gift card, yeah. >> A gift card. >> All right. Some of it was like cash. >> Okay. Some was gift card, some was cash. All right. So, it's kind of a combo deal. >> So, real quick before y'all go on, do you actually have a driver's license? Yes or no? Cuz I just ran I just ran you, so yes or no? >> I >> Do you or don't you? >> I don't have it. >> Okay. No, do you actually have one, period? >> Oh, no, ma'am, I don't have it. >> Oh, no wonder why you don't have it. >> Okay. So, here's the deal. You loaded up approximately $295 worth of merchandise in your cart. You tried to pay for $25. You tried to walk out with $270 and 99 cents worth of unpaid merchandise. I have the itemized receipt. We do have it on video. You passed all points of sale without paying for it or attempting to pay for it at that given point, which means that at this point you've committed a retail theft. >> So, in addition to the theft charge, she was also charged with driving without a license, but it did not stop there. Through the mother's statement, officers realized that the name she provided also seemed to be problematic. >> Who does the car belong to? Is it Kayana, Keana? Kayana? Okay. Kayana? No, that's >> That's her. >> That's her. Kayana Speer. >> Right. >> What did you tell her your name was? >> Uh >> Keana Speer. That's the registered owner of the vehicle. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, this is this is her. >> Yeah, this You're Keana Speer. >> Yes. >> Kayana Speer. Okay. And the the vehicle isn't registered to you or owned by you, is it? >> Yeah, it is. >> Oh, it is? Okay. >> You do realize that's an additional charge. You gave me a false identity. >> What did you say your name was? >> Keana something. >> Okay. Yeah, at this point Kayana, Keana, however you pronounce it, I'm sorry, either way. Um So, at this point our hands are tied. We even if there was a chance that we could have given you what's called a notice to appear, which is ultimately what we would have probably done in this situation since you had your two kids with you, had you been stopped and been, you know, pretty compliant with us and stuff. Um you would be given just a court date, as a matter of fact, and um you would still be able to, you know, probably go to Walmart and do everything else that you needed to do, and it wouldn't have been a big deal, but >> she was charged with retail theft, driving without a valid license, and providing a false identity to law enforcement. Even a small lie can spiral into bigger consequences when honesty could have prevented it all and one poor decision can quickly turn into multiple charges that change everything. Next, we move on to this deceitful woman. >> And I like, wait a minute, my purse gone. And I went to went turned around went in the car wash and it was gone. What the [ __ ] is going on? This I was I was actually doing the right thing. >> On January 7th, the police received a call from a woman reporting her purse stolen at a car wash. Upon arrival, the victim provided some information about the suspect involved. >> And I left because my phone kept going off saying that the car was being used right here in Wally's and but when I got here, the man said that it was the one down the street and I went down there. They got a lot of cameras in there but the man said that they can't watch their cameras till after 3:00. >> Did you turn the car off? >> Yeah, I turned the I did. I turned the car off but my social security card is in my purse and my driver's license and I just got a job so they waiting on my background check and stuff. But there was a lady at that car wash when I was there this morning. It was before 8:00 and she looked like she might have been homeless, white girl and she was changing clothes in the car so I I know she was homeless. But my purse is yellow. And you going to notice a yellow bag just sitting over there. Time I turned around and went back, she was gone, my purse gone. >> All right. You got your You have your ID, do you? >> I don't have nothing. I'm driving I'm riding dirty right now. >> All right, what's your first name? >> I know my I information though. >> What's your first name? >> Casey, c a s e y. >> The victim expressed clear suspicion even providing reasoning for suspecting the individual was homeless while recounting the events that had occurred. >> Oh, it was sitting between the vacuum cleaners at the car at the car wash. I was vacuuming my car out and I drove off and I turned around to go back to get it. She was gone, the purse gone. I literally turned right back around. But I think she must be homeless because she was in like a SUV, like a red SUV, and it had a bunch of stuff in it, like clothes, curtains. She had the the curtains and stuff covering the car so she could change her clothes. And the the the SUV that she's pulling, I mean that she's driving, is pulling a trailer with like some lawn care stuff on the back of it. I'm almost certain that girl got my stuff. Thank you. I went down there. They said that the cameras can't be watched until after 3:00. >> That's the way it was. >> Yeah, that's the way it was. Thank you. >> All right. Um What color was the SUV? >> Red. Like a burgundy red color. I would say burgundy. >> Okay. What she look like? >> White girl. Um white girl. I can't remember the color of her hair. She got blonde hair. White girl, blonde hair, dirty cuz she looked dirty. >> What was she wearing? >> I don't remember what she was wearing cuz she was like kind of behind the other set of vacuum cleaners. I couldn't see what she was wearing. >> Okay. >> got blonde hair. >> And I was the only person out there? >> That was the only person I'm telling you it was early. My son had a haircut appointment. >> What What time was this? >> Probably like 7:00 something. In the 7:30 area. >> More seriously, the victim suspected that the purse theft had a deliberate purpose, noting certain behaviors that raised red flags. >> She hit my Target card. Oh my god, I need to turn that card off. >> a credit card? >> Hell yeah. It's my Target credit card. >> And what else? >> Um my Target card is in there. All of my credit cards. My my Capital One credit card. That's the card she tried to use. She did not try to use my Cash App card or she, he, whoever. They tried to use the Cash App credit Capital One, and they tried to use my Wells Fargo card. >> So, Capital One, Cash App, and Wells Fargo? >> Uh-huh, and it's a SRP card in there. I don't know a lot down there cuz that's where I keep the majority of my money in. She literally >> Is it Are these Wells Are these credit cards or debit cards? >> That Capital One card and the Target card are credit cards. >> So, you said she tried to use >> She tried to use the Cash App one already for $175. >> Mhm. >> She tried to use the Capital One card already. And she tried to use the uh Wells Fargo card. And it's it's still showing at Wally's. >> Let me see. >> See it? I I cut I um I cut the card off already. She Wally's in Hillsborough. This is Wally's and there's a Wally's down there. >> 6101 uh 7101 or 7103? >> Shortly after, the police quickly located the vehicle described by the victim. The items found inside confirmed that it was indeed the car they were looking for. >> I mean, it's an older model burgundy SUV with a trailer. What appears to be a bunch [music] of junk in it, but no tag. Female, um yellow purse by chance? >> A yellow purse in Is it there? >> I don't know what the address is. >> 10-4. Does the yellow purse say "the tote bag" on it? >> A short time later, the police approached the suspect at a nearby house where she appeared completely bewildered by the unfolding situation. >> Hey, how you doing? You come on talk to me. >> Yes. >> I just stepped out here for me. >> Okay. >> All right, I have a question. Um who's the who drives that burgundy SUV? >> I do. >> Okay. You want to step out in front for me? We got her right here. >> I did. Did they steal it or I just bought that time? >> Uh no, ma'am. Um this is a reference to a uh theft that happened at the uh car wash. >> No, I just found no. No, no, no. I just found a lady's tote bag. >> Okay. >> And um everything is still in it. >> Okay. >> And it's right in the passenger seat. >> Okay. >> Yes. >> Um >> Everything is still in it. I was her name was Casey and I was going to get in contact with her as soon as I got here. This happened probably an hour ago. >> Did anybody else touch this bag? >> Not that I'm aware of. There was a Mexican guy there in a white car. >> He said that she got >> No, can I have a picture of it? I mean, I went through you know, her license. >> Okay. Do you have a bill of sale or anything? >> Huh? Nothing. Yeah. What? No, that's how I found the lady's purse at the >> [clears throat and cough] >> car wash. At the car wash over there. >> Although the woman denied any wrongdoing, based on the evidence and prior descriptions, the police proceeded with their actions. >> I don't know what I mean, I really don't know what >> Just just yes or no. >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. So, the reason why we're here obviously because of the purse. >> Right. >> Um but there was also some transactions that were made. Um >> It was one of them. >> It was It was multiple. >> Uh-uh. >> There was some transactions that were made at the the gas station. >> Okay. Do you know anything about those transactions? >> I I tried to get the gas off of the card. >> All right. We're going to take your purse off. >> But >> Take your purse off. >> Wait. What? That's my phone, officer. >> Do you have anything in your pockets or anything like that? >> No. I was [ __ ] with >> Turn around. All right. Turn around for me. >> What the [ __ ] My phone was out. I was actually doing the right thing. >> 7103 dispatch. No tape Miranda read. One female in custody. >> I literally was doing the right thing. Why am I going to jail? Why am I going to >> to jail, sir? >> What? Why am I going to jail? >> All right. So, right now you're going to jail >> Please help me. >> You're going to jail for theft. >> It was on the It was on the thing. Y'all Y'all can see the camera. I didn't steal from anybody. >> And then financial transactions card. >> Finally, the woman was charged with theft and unauthorized use of credit cards. Leaving valuables unattended can quickly turn into a major loss, and even brief moments of inattention can lead to someone else exploiting the situation. Always secure important items and act promptly if they go missing. Don't blink just yet, because what followed was another wave of pure chaos. >> Don't tell me I'm a [ __ ] baby back. He He tweaking. I'm really sorry. >> Tell me what happened. >> Okay, so what happened is I was supposed to come in and the issue was was that I needed to get the court of motor oil or whatever for the truck. >> Okay. >> And I kept saying like in I wrote it I wrote it down, and I wrote it down as 5W20. >> Okay. >> Because, you know, it's always 10W20 or like 5W20, whatever. But, um when I was over here, I was like, "Hold on. I need to go see if that is the correct one, cuz I don't want to spend all this money and have it not be the right oil." And then when I got to the car, I asked my friend, she's like, "No, see, it's not 5W20. It's 20W50." >> Okay. A long story was used to justify the mistake in her behavior, but in reality, officers also discovered additional suspicions while checking her bag. Okay. Is this one yours, too? >> Huh? >> Is this one yours, too, as well? Your purse? >> Um no, that one's hers. >> Hers? >> Yeah, that one's hers, and that's the one that had all the information written down of what I needed. >> This is her purse? >> her purse. Yeah, that little the Yeah, that thing That one's hers. >> This one? >> Yes. >> So, I can ask her that real quick? >> Huh? >> I can ask her that? >> I mean, I guess. >> in She's at the front of my car. She's detained with me. >> Why is she detained? >> That's not your problem. My problem is this yours or is this hers? Will she say Who's When we ask her, is she going to say it's yours or she going to say it's hers? Or is it nobody's? >> It's nobody's. >> If it's nobody's, it's abandoned property. >> Yes. >> It's abandoned property. >> want to I don't want to get any I I allowed you to search my purse. I allowed you to look through my property. >> Look, I'm asking, okay? >> Is it yours or is it hers? Or is it just nobody's? Or was it here before we got Was it here before you got here? That's what I'm trying to ask. >> No. >> With that many offenses, officers reached their conclusion about her actions. >> Oh, wait. Wait. Why am I getting like arrested now? >> Put your hands behind >> Okay, why? >> We're detaining you at this time because you are going to be charged with shoplifting, and then also trespassing. And you're not coming back on private property. >> Wait, why did you >> Are you lying about your name, Layla? >> No, I'm not. Am I going to jail? >> Well, until we figure out who you are, how long have you been in here for? >> I've only been living uh a few years. I went to college here for a little while. >> Okay. Your ID is not in here. >> No, sir, it's not. >> Cuz if you're lying who you are, you are going to jail tonight, right? If you're lying who you are, you're going to go to jail no matter what. If you tell us who you are, and stop lying, you probably won't even go to jail. If you have a petty petty warrant, I don't care I don't care about petty warrants. All right? So, be honest with us, please. You're not. I can tell you're lying. I've been doing this for a bit now, and I know when people are lying, all right? There's not anything on with your name in here. So, I'm just going to ask you one more time, what's your name, and what's your date of birth? This is the last chance you get. You want to go to jail or not? This is how simple it is. You need to tell me who you are, and stop playing games, cuz I'm done. Okay, I'm the sergeant. My name is Chris Baker. I have people here who are in the middle of a business, okay? And this is ridiculous. Start acting your age, and take responsibility for your actions. Okay? Tell them who you are. Legally. Can we do this outside? Yes. Thank you. Yes. Yes, we'll do this outside. Any more games, you're gone. So, what's your name? Makayla? Okay, why'd you lie? Sit down. Sit. Do you have warrants? So, why would you lie if you have no warrants? What's the point? We're going to find out who you really are. >> The woman was charged with shoplifting, criminal trespass, and possession of a controlled substance, in addition to being booked on an existing warrant for a probation violation. Sometimes the biggest mistake suspects make is believing a long explanation can erase clear evidence. Instead of being honest from the start, lying about identity and making excuses only deepens the trouble and turns a minor situation into multiple criminal charges. In the next case, the woman wanted to pay, but it was already too late. On the 13th of May, 2022, police received a report from Walmart about a theft that had occurred, and the suspect [music] was believed to be a woman who had intentionally skip scanned merchandise, at which point officers quickly approached her after observing her past the final checkout area. It was strange that she claimed she was heading to pay even though she was already near the exit, and even while being escorted, she still showed clear irritation about being arrested. I'll pay for right now. All right, ma'am. So, right now you're being detained on suspicion of retail theft. Okay, we're just going to go to the asset protection office and get it all squared away, okay? >> Okay, fine. It has a I'll pay for all of it. I'm sorry. I just want to pay for it all. >> You're getting All right, I'll meet you in the office. >> I'm sorry. I know that I mean, I don't know why but but I've got the money. I'm going to pay for it all. >> The question was raised, if she truly intended to pay, why did she not do so before leaving? And shortly afterward, loss prevention staff also had their own separate conversation. >> This is uh if you want to throw this in her wallet when you get a chance, this is her gift card that she paid for it. >> Can I pay you for it? Me? >> Yeah. No, unfortunately I am not. >> Come on. >> Yeah, she took a switch out of the shorts and one of the shirts. >> What? >> Put a different ticket on it. >> I watched her take one of the shorts switch off the ticket. >> Please, please. Let me pay for it and I will give you all the money in my hand. I've got over $800 on me. I have a problem. I And I've been hiding No, with this and I know I need help but I will pay for all of it. >> She put that in the the right in front of me. I will pay for all of it. I promise you I will pay for everything. And it was my headache. And I will pay well. I have a job. I'm going to help clean up this mess. I I have a big >> What's wrong with your wrist? >> Oh, I have a big arm. >> Oh, okay. >> A burn? >> Yeah, it has to be. >> It seemed there was no longer any denying her guilt, [music] and officers escorted her outside to the police station to proceed with the next steps. >> Any back pain? >> Keys are in my purse. Gangster. >> I can't leave. I don't have keys. >> You got a heart on you? >> Yeah. And you have my old wallet to our >> Yep. We'll get them checked out. Reach inside and you can give who's at home. >> My boyfriend. >> He can drive your medicine up here, right? >> I'm going to have him bring the arm. >> Now, if you have previous retail theft convictions, go ahead and third stool on the left. Before you sit down, I'll take the handcuffs off. >> I'll just have my ID. I can make tonight count. I'm on. >> Illinois law says your second offense after previous conviction is a felony level offense. Can you bend your elbow for me? There you go. >> She was charged with retail theft. Her actions showed that claiming intent means nothing without proof, and once trust is broken, consequences follow no matter how many excuses are made afterwards. >> Oh, my baby is crying. Never cry. And I just said, "Damn." >> Taser. Taser. Taser. Get over What did I tell you? >> On September 5th, 2025, police were dispatched to Dick's Sporting Goods after receiving a report that a theft had occurred. As officers approached, the suspects moved out into the parking lot and firmly insisted that the accusation was false. >> You uh tried to say I was stealing, but I wasn't stealing. >> Okay. I saw both you guys running out of the uh the store. >> Cuz I was going with my son. I was cleaning. He said something to me. He said, "You were stealing." I said, "You set the police on the way." I said, "What I steal?" >> Okay. You got IDs on you? And then you got receipts for stuff you purchased? >> What's an I don't have no ID on me. >> You don't have an ID on you? Okay. You don't have anything on you. Nothing? Driver's license? Nothing like that? >> No, sir. >> Okay. Ma'am, you got an ID on you? >> Yeah, what you mean on me? >> Well, you got a warrant in the seat belt, so I need your ID. >> You got the phone? >> Both suspects >> Yeah, so All right. We can make this one of two ways here, okay? So, you guys can cooperate with me. >> I'll cooperate. I'm talking. >> Okay. You don't have You don't have any any identification on you? >> If observed closely, the driver even started the vehicle and pulled away from their parking spot in an attempt to leave. And this action only made the police grow even more suspicious. >> You got nothing on you. Can you give me your first name? >> Um >> You got Keep back there making faces at >> No, what outfit? >> I saw your puppy back there earlier. I saw a dog back there jumping around earlier. >> No, you didn't see my damn thing. >> Oh, okay. You know this guy? >> Huh? >> You know this guy walking up? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Can you see him? >> I think he's got a receipt. >> You got receipts for me? >> No, I don't have no receipt. >> You got nothing? There's no merchandise in this car? >> You probably you got to be honest. >> Come on. Be honest with me. >> I I got merchandise. Can you please let me go? I got my baby in here. I do got some merchandise. >> Okay, hold on a sec. >> I bought some stuff in there, though. >> Okay. My bad. >> I had bought outfits in there and I had took the outfit in the bag. >> Okay. Can I see those, please? Where they at? I saw him walking up. >> He is getting out. >> He is getting something, man. >> I got to make sure. >> Leo got no what was the black and white one was mine. >> Okay. So, this is You did not take this bag, right? You took the bag inside? >> He Yeah, he trying to say I took the bag, but I didn't take the bag. >> Ma'am, I'm going to go look in here. >> Yeah, go in there. >> I'm going to put her out in the front. >> But I told you it's a outfit in there. One is mine. >> The woman admitted that there was merchandise in her vehicle, but her attitude showed no trace of remorse. On the other hand, store employees firmly confirmed the wrongdoing with clear evidence. >> How you doing? >> Did they take anything or >> Yeah. >> Yeah, okay. >> Yeah, so that black that big black bag she has, that is full of stuff. >> It's full of stuff? >> Yeah, she did not walk in with that bag. That's what we We verified that she didn't have the bag. That's what we >> Do you guys know what all she took or anything like that or >> We We didn't see her actually conceal. We just saw her with the bag full of merchandise. We checked camera to see if she walked in with it. It's She didn't walk in with it, so she know We know she got it here. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> So, that guy in that red hat, he's walking towards him now. >> Yeah, okay. >> He was in here around a bunch of shoes. He was watching him, too. >> Did he take anything? >> We don't think he took anything. He gave us everything back. >> There's two of them, right? Two black females? >> There's two black females, yeah. >> There's one with a denim jacket. >> Okay. >> That one. >> So, a black bag, did it have a Is it a Nike or anything like that? >> It's Korea, it's won't be branded or anything. It's like built in almost. >> Okay, has that cork pattern. >> And it has stuff inside it. You saw them put stuff inside it? >> Yes, we saw them put stuff inside it. We just don't know exactly what it was. I know it's most likely Nike. >> All right. And that bag was stolen as well? >> The bag was stolen as well. >> Yeah. >> I'll be right back. All that's stolen? Bag and everything inside it? >> Yep. >> That bag is not theirs. >> She did not come into the store with the bag. >> So, the woman knew she had been caught red-handed, yet she showed no shame over it at all. At that point, each stolen item was already being confirmed by the police. >> Did you know what it was? >> What is that? >> Did you know what it was? >> No. >> Can I leave it here? >> Yeah, I'll I'll I'll follow up with you if you want. >> I mean >> It's going to be hard to follow up with you. >> These are all like baby ones, so I'll probably post them on online anyway. This is 80 as well. Which >> Was there a tag on the bag? >> There was something right here, but this is still there. >> Okay. >> It's still packed in there. >> Yeah, it's They said that was stolen. She didn't come in with it. >> Okay. >> I'll just put them in the bag in here. >> Actually, close it up real quick. >> Do they want it back? >> I'll ask. I don't know. I was hoping they'd give us a receipt or something, but I don't think they will be able to do that. But, we have the merchandise, so >> The bag is and whatever the bag is here. >> Back at the suspects, the man believed to be connected to them deliberately escalated the tension as events unfolded. Forcing officers to issue repeated warnings. >> [snorts] >> Stay back there. Stay back there. You just got to do me. No, you won't. You'll get off the scene. Go back Go back there or go Go to jail then. Either way it's fine with me. You're just getting too close, man. It's all right. It's I understand. You're just getting too close to what we're doing here. I know, but I need him to stay back. I know. I know. It's fine. We're not saying you did anything. I just need you to stay back. You need to stay off the scene. All I need you to say I know. I understand. I I wouldn't let you and anybody walk up here. I wouldn't let anybody walk up here. In contrast to the man's frustration, the woman appeared unfazed, acting as if nothing was serious and even believing she could simply walk away. You don't have any physical You have any like you got >> I just told you I'm one of y'all and I'm telling y'all the truth. >> I'm I believe you. It's just we're not getting anything back. You got You got a credit card or anything? I just got to confirm it's you. >> If you're going to let me go. >> It depends It depends on what the warrant is. If we got PC, let's just do it. Okay. >> What he say? >> Come on out for me. You're good. You got to come on out anyway. >> Step on out. Who is the sergeant? >> Right there. >> Why? >> So, put your hands up for me. Turn around for me. >> Man, I ain't even lying about my and my birthday. And told you the truth. To get handcuffed is crazy. >> Next stop is the police station. You got anything on you, ma'am? Who we talking about? We talking about Rebecca or Faith? >> Oh, my baby is crying. Never cry. And I just said damn. And my birthday. You told him the >> You can put that up. >> Oh, what the [ __ ] >> So, listen. I appreciate you being cooperative with me. >> When she was placed in handcuffs, she tried to use her child as a plea for sympathy, but it did not work. And based on her behavior, officers suspected this was far from the first time she had done this. >> So, this stuff your stuff your stuff is over $400. That's a felony, okay? >> I know it is. I would >> You you've done this before, right? >> Yeah, I'm being honest with you, though. I could get a citation. >> I understand that. And I I appreciate you being honest with me. Do you understand the severity of this? But, I got a couple more things. You saw me turn my lights on. I saw you run out. You didn't stop. >> Because I was trying to park. And my baby and I and I was trying to figure it I was trying to figure out to call somebody for my baby cuz I knew I had I wasn't going to run. If I was going to run, I would have just sped off. I wasn't running. >> Okay. So, when when are the warrants from, you know? >> Glen Carbon Hills. They is Glen Carbon Hills. And Flossmoor Heights. >> And Flossmoor Heights? >> Yeah. Yeah, these two out here in Illinois. >> You got any other tattoos? >> What are they? >> So, I'm trying to confirm this is you. >> Yeah, they on my arms. >> Nothing else on your person? You got the one in your pocket? >> Yeah, this one right here. It just got my baby name. >> Okay. >> Immediately after the female driver was taken into custody, the woman in the passenger seat was quickly approached and faced a similar fate, and she clearly did not take it well, either. >> Do you hear me? Just step out of the car for >> What am I stepping out for? >> Please get out of the car. >> I I don't have I didn't have anything on me. >> Step out of the car. >> Okay, why did I have to step out for? >> Get out of the car. Get out of the >> I ain't doing nothing. What were you saying to you? Yeah, go ahead and sue us. >> I am. >> You're here. >> Why did you snatch me out of the car like that? >> snatch you out of the car. We asked you twice to get out of the car. You're telling me no. You're here. >> I'm not arguing. >> Let go of this arm. >> I'm not arguing with you. >> Telling you to get out of the car. >> You better pick my [ __ ] up. >> Woah, hey. You got anything on you? >> Right there. >> Did you say there was one? >> This is mine. This I I have nothing in my bag. I Did you see me going out grab anything, touch anything? No, you do not. I have nothing. >> Got a second one on your person? >> Exactly. I'm throwing the Damn, watch. On me. Watch. I ain't I ain't got to tell you nothing. >> Let's go. Let's go. >> Are you going to shoot us, bud? >> Turn around, get on your knees. >> Turn around. >> Please. >> No. >> Just make it easier on yourself, please. >> No, cuz I'm doing too much. >> We are not doing anything. >> Oh my god. God, God, stop doing too much. >> What did she do? There's a toy. Let's see if I'm right. >> At this point, the man who witnessed everything became extremely agitated, and the situation spiraled into chaos as he completely refused to cooperate. >> Oh, y'all do anything >> Are you pulling out a toy, bud? >> I ain't pulling out to do [ __ ] >> Turn around. Do it. Do it. Taser, taser, taser. Get over here. What did I tell you? What did I tell you? You talked your way into that, didn't you? Talked your way into that, bud. Come out here and just mouth off to us. We're going to find out who you are real quick. Yeah, go ahead. We're going to find out real quick. What does that mean? What does that mean? Huh? I can't expect to that one. Oh, yeah. I've had enough of it. They're mouthing off to us. You came up trying to pick a fight with us. You why? Why? I did. I pulled it. Right. Yeah. Fair enough. Had enough mouthing off for the day. >> In the end, the woman was charged with felony retail theft, while the man was charged with obstructing an investigation. Arrogance and refusal to cooperate only made the consequences worse. Proving that attempting to intimidate police or deny clear evidence never led to a better outcome.
