Hi, my name is Dan Butler. I'm the human resources commander for the Mesa Police Department. Human resources consists of the Mesa Police Academy, the Mesa Firearms Range, and the hiring and recruiting teams. I wanted to give you a quick update as to what's going on in the human resources section. Uh currently, we are anticipating hiring based off of retirements. Uh we generally lose anywhere from 18 to 20 people a year that we don't expect to lose. We call those unexpected losses. And we also lose about 20 through normal retirements. Based off of that, we project out in the next several years, we're going to lose anywhere from 60 to 80 police officers. Those police officers are going to be replaced with police officer recruits. Uh starting in January of 2016, we're going to hire 15 police officer recruits. And in July of 2016, we're going to hire another 25 followed up by a 25 person hiring in January of 2017. In addition to that, uh, at our range facility, we have a tower that was built in the late 60s and early 70s. Uh, that tower is being demolished and it's being replaced with a state of art 4600 foot armory. U, we anticipate that armory to be completed in February of 2016. Those are just a few of the things going on in human resources with the Mesa Police Department. Uh we are accepting applications for police officer recruits starting in September um for those policemies and we will test quarterly here on out for the next several years.
