Officer Bob Buco, [music] Mesa Police Department. I'm the chief pilot here at the Mesa Police Air Support Unit. I started in [music] this unit in 2012 in 1994 when we [music] became a full-time air support unit for the ground guys. just made it easier for the ground guys to locate the suspects or missing people, [music] anything they were looking for or even follow vehicles that either failed to yield or just made it a lot easier to to do that with the air unit overhead. [music] The camera system, we used to have a POP 300, [music] now we've upgraded to the MX10, which is made by L3 Harris. Uh that technology is [music] night and day difference. In 1994, we leased two MD500E helicopters from MD helicopters, full-time unit at that point. We [music] had uh two pilots from another agency and then uh part-time tactical flight officers. That was basically in [music] 90 1994 and ever since then it's kind of grown. Currently, we have seven full-time members, four part-time tactical flight officers. We have a civilian administrator and two full-time mechanics. >> [music]
