You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation. >> I was traveling eastbound on the US60 when alert came through my computer, an ATL from DPS alerting me of a wrongway driver. Asked for a call for service for that and began heading that direction because I know the dangers that those wrongway drivers pose. Did you tell me the traffic stop? >> Shortly after I saw the headlights approaching about a mile out, I knew that vehicle had to be stopped. [music] >> The driver yielded to my lights and sirens, thankfully, preventing a serious collision. Uh, but the driver did not stop then completely. They tried, they attempted to reverse away and drive around me, uh, causing me to have to use my vehicle to forcefully stop them in the middle of the freeway. Hands on top of your head now. Hands on top of your head. [music] Stay right there. I asked her if she knew what was going on. Even after I had [music] stopped her, she had no idea that she was driving wrong way. Do you see how you're going the wrong way? >> Nobody's on this street. >> Well, because I had to hit you and we stopped everybody. >> Yes. You kept hitting me >> cuz you wouldn't stop. I told you to stop. Okay, I stopped, but then you kept hitting my front of my car. >> I thought you were going to drive and hit one of these cars going this way. >> I would never do that. >> With holiday season [music] approaching, please be cautious about drinking and driving. Utilize your ride share services, your taxis, your friends and family. I've seen the destruction that DUIs, especially wrongway drivers can do, and we want to avoid that with as [music] much as we can.
