This [ __ ] just pissed me off. Lose my JOB FOR SOME DUMB [ __ ] THAT I DIDN'T evening do. >> You're going to be released tonight. >> I still got to keep coming back here. >> First of all, I didn't switch any parts on anything and I'm going to sue Target. Oh, heck no. Uh-uh. No. No. No. I'm going to I'm going to you all, sir. >> Get on the ground. >> For what? >> Get on the ground. >> What am I? >> I told you why. >> Get on the ground. >> I didn't do anything. committing malicious acts. Thieves often think they're safe when no one is around. What they don't realize is that hidden cameras are quietly observing. Whether they run or not, the police can catch them on the spot. Here are all the times shoplifterss were caught red-handed by the police. Don't forget to like and share. Starting with this innocent woman, she thought pushing the items back would make her crime disappear. >> Car off. >> Now turn the car off. Let me see your hands. >> Come on. Come on out over here. >> But push me. No. >> Okay. You had a cart, right? Full of stuff. Did you have a cart full of stuff? >> Yes, I did, but I didn't touch any. >> On November 26th, 2024, officers received a call about a woman who tried to run after a failed theft at Target. When they approached, she drove off, but her escape ended when police stopped her car. >> Keep going. >> Turn the car off. >> Turn the car off. >> Now, turn the car off. Let me see your hands. >> Come on. Come on out over here. Come on out of the car. Out of a car right over here. >> Hold on. Stay right over here. What's going on? Put your phone out. >> Hold on. >> 43. >> Have anything. >> Okay. Well, you just at the Target. >> Okay. And I didn't walk out the door with it. Then the lady tried to push me. No. >> Okay. You had a cart, right? Full of stuff. Did you have a cart full of stuff? >> Yes, I did, but I didn't touch anything. >> She had a full shopping cart, but claimed she never touched anything. Her story was full of contradictions and it turned out she was trying to blame someone else. >> Soon as I saw her, I turned right back around. I didn't go nowhere. >> Okay. You didn't leave uh the the uh >> No. No. And I don't have nothing. The lady got the cart full of stuff. >> Who's the lady? >> The the lady at the door. I'm in Target. I'm by myself. >> You weren't with anybody else? >> No. >> Uh Miss Can you do me a favor? >> Yeah. Come over here. >> Sidewalk here. >> You don't want to get hit? Uh, do you have any knives, needles, anything like that? As of right now, seeing as that your demeanor is pretty cooperative, I'm not going to put you in handcuffs. As long as you remain as far as violent, >> I'm not if you did do some wrong here, there may be some repercussions in THE ACT, MAKE YOUR SITUATION WORSE, >> but if you do anything that's going to be suspect here, you're going to anger. So, I'm going to give you benefit of the doubt. >> Okay. I just want to get home to my kids, so I'm sorry. I didn't take anything. But but there's a little beforehand before you get home to taking the kids. Maybe you go in the store, start thinking about thieving. Maybe you get caught up and get called out and you decide not to do it >> or you know. So here's the thing. We're going to know has an eye in the sky. It's going to be I left the whole cart. I did not touch it. >> And now she claims she left the entire cart and walked away. But even if she tried to abandon everything she had attempted to steal, that didn't erase the crime. >> You going to leave? >> And then I thought about it. I said, "No. You got the cart. >> What the? So, you went to Target, you got a bunch of stuff in the cart, and then you were about to leave the store, right? Where'd you leave the cart at? >> At the front. >> At the front. Where? At the front. >> The lady got the cart. >> Okay. Did she pull it from you? >> Huh? >> How'd you get the cart? >> I I pushed it to him. >> You pushed her in the cart. >> I said, "Here, you can have it." >> Okay. >> Listen, I'm going to look at the Target video cuz at the end of the day, I don't believe you said nice, but I'm going to believe the eye in the sky. It looks like you're working in concert with somebody. >> I I know. I said Oh, no. I actually said I was coming. I was trying, but once I said >> I appreciate I I I told y'all I gave them the part and >> that was it. >> But but but what I'm concerned about I appreciate your honesty about admitting to wanting to take stuff, but you didn't do it cuz you got stopped up. Did loss prevention kind of start talking to you or make contact with you at the door? >> I thought. So, she ended up admitting she was the one who pushed the cart toward the exit. And at that point, the officers made their decision on how to handle the case. >> So, what's going on now? >> We're going to figure it out. >> Well, in about a moment or two, Target is going to positively or not positively identify. >> Should they positively identify you, they're going to make a decision whether they want to proceed with the complaint or not. >> It's well within their right to make that determination. I'm facing, >> huh? You're just facing that way. >> Stay like this. >> Yeah. Turn around like this. So, now turn towards the officer. See the white shirt? >> Yes. That's the one right there. >> Okay. Okay. All right. Just stay over here. She still acted like she hadn't done anything serious. So she tried begging the officers for mercy, but to them that was never an option. >> Please don't take me to jail. I got to get to my keys. I didn't take anything. >> Okay. Okay. Just keep your hands out your pocket with them. I understand. >> I understand. There's nobody else in the car, right? No. >> You've never been arrested? Yeah. Not even in Wisconsin. >> Okay. What do you What's your business out here in Illinois? >> I used to stay out here. >> You used to stay out here where? >> Um in a village right off 12th and Roosevelt. >> 12th in Roosevelt. Okay. >> Very elected to sign. Good news. Bad news. Bad news is is you're going to get hooked up in handcuffs, transported to my state temporarily, but you're going to be out hopefully within the hour because hopefully you're going to stand right now. Not right now. Not right now. We need you to take this off. So, so just so you know, camera audio work everybody. Okay. >> So, I'm not going to get back >> and I didn't take anything. >> What about my car? Can I park my car? >> So, what's going on with my car? >> Car's going to be towed. >> Can I call? >> According to procedure, her car had to be impounded once she committed a crime. It was one of the consequences of her own actions, yet she acted confused about it. >> All right, sir. Come and take her in. Um, >> are you using >> uh Yeah, she said they were. Let me just check for Can you stay right here? >> No, they're not. N she's got to have her feel. >> Yeah. >> Can my sister please come get my car? >> No. >> Why not? >> That's not how it works. >> It wasn't and nothing even was inside of my car. >> Doesn't matter. That's not how it works. 450 area. >> House keys and phone are going >> everything else is staying in the car. >> In the end, she was charged with petty theft. Trying to walk away didn't erase the crime. [music] In the real world, actions have consequences and pretending to be innocent never changes the truth. Next, it was the same returning items [music] story, but the truth behind it was far worse. >> I work for the post office and I'm going to JAIL FOR SOMETHING. I DIDN'T [laughter] even know that was in my younger days. >> They could potentially upgrade this charge from a misdemeanor. On March 6th, 2025, police received a report from Walmart about two women who allegedly stole merchandise and fled in a vehicle. Officers tracked the suspects down and spotted their car at a nearby gas station. But when confronted, both women immediately [music] denied everything. Hello, my name is Officer Fresher. I got a body camera on. Uh, you just reported uh stealing from Walmart. Uh, the loss prevention reported that you guys just left the scene of a retail theft. What's going on with that? >> I didn't do no stealing. >> They told me that um I'm sorry. >> Yeah, they tried to stop you guys and you guys just got into this vehicle. >> Me cuz I wasn't buying nothing. >> This is the officer. It's me. >> Okay. >> He told me that I didn't pay for the penny liner and some cough drops. Okay. >> I gave it to him. >> Okay. >> Cuz I I >> You weren't pass the final point of sale without paying for it. That's why they try to stop you. >> Oh, but I I did give it to him. That so it doesn't that doesn't negate the fact that you committed retail theft. Retail theft is if you take anything past the final point of sale without paying for it, it's a retail theft. Okay. >> She still believed that returning the cart would erase the crime. But it wasn't that simple. Once Walmart confirmed everything, officers made their decision. >> Ma'am, can you shut off the car and step out, please? >> You're being placed under arrest for retail theft. Okay. Can you set your phone back and place your hands behind your back? >> Go ahead. Turn around for me. Put your hands behind your back. >> I didn't steal that. >> Put your hands behind your back, ma'am. >> I did not take >> Just put your hands back. >> I was not. >> Ma'am, put your hands behind your back. >> She wasn't with me when I walked out that door. >> I was not I was not with her. >> You bring your bring your other hand behind you back. >> I did not do nothing. >> Y'all, man, y'all just [ __ ] Please not that tight. >> I'm not trying. I'm I got to make it a little bit tighter so that your hands aren't flipping around in there. >> Oh, well I got in my phone. I'm cool. Thank you. >> This is crazy. If I I got a whole drive, >> ma'am. I'll have you step over here. >> Do this. I work for the post and I'm going TO JAIL FOR SOMETHING I CAN'T even read your >> If she had thought about her future before doing it, she wouldn't have been facing the risk of losing her job. The driver looked devastated after being caught. Yet both women continued to deny everything. Will be used against you in the court. She >> crazy. >> You have the right to talk to have. >> Can you tell us what we being charged with? >> Retail theft. >> A manage. >> I'm officers body on. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say abus >> mama. You don't even understand. I'm >> those rights job. What was something I didn't evening do? >> Ma'am, >> do you understand those rights? Do you want me? >> Okay. >> All right. So, your statement is you did not see anything. >> I did not touch a puppy, sir. >> Okay. >> She was not with me, sir. She didn't know anything about it. >> Ma'am, do you understand your rights that I just Yeah, I do. >> Okay. What's your name? >> So, there's a uh a list of stolen items on any steak. >> I didn't touch nothing. >> You didn't touch any steak? No, >> nothing at all. >> No, I'm in the store with her. >> No gain laundry detergent. >> No, not me. That everything that's in there, that was her. >> Was her? Okay. >> Yes. That had nothing to do with me. >> And my daughter was not with me. >> They said she was >> She was with me in the store, but after she paid for after I paid for her stuff, she left. >> Okay. >> So, she was >> Do you have anything on here I need to know about? >> No. >> You got any pockets on you? >> No. >> Okay. If y'all looked at that camera, y'all would see she wasn't with me. She was with me at the register. That was it. >> Better go to jail for something I work for the post office. I don't have to stealing nothing. I'm only downhill business. >> Do you remember the mother insisting I did give it to them? At this moment, that statement meant nothing. Once officers searched their vehicle. >> Chance total weight 2.59 lb of tomahawk rilock. Can you see if you can find a receipt for for anything? >> A receipt of for anything that they purchased. >> She's saying that her daughter did purchase some stuff. No. >> Oh, I'll just ask her if she's got the receipt. Is that today? That's the 6. >> Yeah. Yeah. All right. Is this a list of confirmed stolen items? All right. All right. Go ahead. Fake eyelashes. Do you find the fake eyelashes yet? Z. All right. We haven't found that yet. Uh, yep. Got that cough drop. Got the holes cough drop. Got the patty liner. Oh, no. Correction. I got the I got the I got the holes. I got the uh eye Oh, I got everything right here. Okay, I'm going to reiterate. I got a thing of of I got Tom Lock rib eye gain. I got pink oil moisturizer hair lotion. I got fake eyelashes. I got false cough drop. And I got panty liner. I got everything on the hood of my car. Yeah, that's fine. Um, everything else was paid for that. They did. They scan the rest of them. Did they pay for the lemon pepper? >> It's confirmed. The lemon pepper was paid for. I I got it in here. It was the SNAP benefits was used on it >> on the lemon pepper. >> On the lemon pepper. Yeah. >> Okay. >> Yeah, they got the lemon pepper uh receipt and everything except for the large dollar items. Okay. Uh so they both acted together in stealing all these items. >> At this moment, they were forced to be honest. Yet the driver refused to take responsibility. even though she had been one of the first to deny every accusation. >> Okay. All right, ma'am. The items that I put on the hood of my car, those are the items that were stolen that were not paid for. And they said they they they tried to contact you guys. >> Excuse me. And you both went running out the store. >> I didn't run out the store. I didn't even know that they was contacting us cuz I had paid for all of my stuff. The rest of that stuff belonged to her. That's not mine. I didn't I told her, "Don't do it." I said, "Ma, they is watching you. I paid for all of my stuff and I I left. I start walking out because I hadn't already paid for my stuff." >> Okay. Would the video show you holding any of these items? >> Um, the stuff that I paid for, the stuff that that's in the car that >> No, the things on my hood in my car. >> Oh, no. >> None of those items were handled by you whatsoever. Not even in the parking lot. >> No, the state. She told me to grab that when we was in the store, but other than that, I put it in the car. >> Okay. >> Other than that, I don't, you know, I >> You're going to be released tonight, but you are being charged with retail theft. I want you to know that. >> I didn't even do it. I didn't I >> You guys acted together and you paid for your items. You guys both failed to pay for those items that are on the hood of my car. >> Have nothing to do with me. I >> If she had been honest from the start, the outcome might have changed. But by covering for her accomplice, she ended up in the back of a patrol car, regretting her own choices. >> Is our ordinance for violation of >> I have to pay. I got to GO TO WORK TOMORROW. MY kid is here. Like I don't This is why don't this is why? BECAUSE I HAVE NOTHING TO do with that [ __ ] >> Ma'am, I'm going to grab your phone. >> The [ __ ] just pissed me off. I didn't lose my JOB FOR SOME DUMB [ __ ] THAT I DIDN'T evening do. >> You're going to be released tonight. Can I grab your >> I still got to keep coming back here. >> You guys were together in the store and you were taking the items. >> All right. Uh so he has a ban sheet for Walmart. Okay. So you're permanently banned. You can't go back forever and ever and ever. Uh if you do, you'll be cited for trespassing. Here's your copy. I'm going to put it with your items. Um, and then obviously they get their coffee, too. Okay. >> At the station, the regret continued. The mother tried to calm her daughter with simple excuses, pretending the situation wasn't serious, even though reality was far from that. >> She could make me lose my job. I've been working hard to keep myself together. >> Even though you wasn't with me, you know, you ain't walked out that door with me. You paid for your stuff and left. They can't just say you you was in there. They You didn't know. And you know you did. They know you did. They'll see it on camera. >> Just don't. >> You run with me. >> When you paid for your stuff, you left. >> And you know that. So don't >> I do know that. >> Okay. And the camera show it. You didn't know I was taking no damn detergent. You didn't know that. You was gone. Okay. You know that. Don't act like that. >> All the stuff I pay for charging me some [ __ ] that I need. >> THEY CAME OUT TRYING TO GET ME TO MR. >> I know what they trying to do. Do you hear yourself? But that was my stuff. You know that was my stuff. You paid for your stuff. >> They don't give no about that. >> Okay. So they going to charge us for one deodorant, one one wash. >> Yes. One tomah one wash of powder. Yes. >> And it was MINE THOUGH. YOU WAS GONE. >> OKAY. WELL, TISHA, they can't charge both. >> Both women were charged with retail theft and permanently banned from Walmart. Sometimes covering for someone else only destroys your own future. Be honest. Walk away from bad decisions and never risk your freedom for the sake of loyalty. Another family story unfolded. Police caught one suspect. Then two more appeared. >> Apparently, it's a whole family affair. She was putting stuff in her backpack. Mom's putting stuff in her backpack. Grandma's putting stuff in her backpack. >> Car. And I don't have anything. I don't see anything what they're putting either. On November 29th, 2024, police were dispatched to a Target after reports said a young girl had been caught red-handed stealing merchandise. But it didn't end there because her family was nowhere in sight. First, here's what happened when officers arrived at the scene. >> How's it going? >> Hey, >> what's up, Taylor? >> Hello. What's going on? This is what she took. >> Yeah. So, her parents tell you what briefly. >> Yeah. So, this young lady had this stuff inside of that green bag and a backpack over here. >> Okay, >> she just decided to walk out. I stopped her, escort her back here. More information revealed. She's with mom and grandma here. >> Mom and grandma did not see me bringing her from point out to here. >> Okay, >> so they're completely out of the loop on that. On camera, the mom is putting stuff in her bag/backpack as well. I don't know if she walked out with it or not when we escorted her back here. That's where our focus went. Looks like the mom is potentially walking around looking for her who's obviously detained here. >> Okay. >> So, >> how old are you? That's alcohol. >> I don't drink that. My parents do. I don't drink that. I don't drink that. I don't even drink anything. >> But you put it in your backpack. >> My grandma. My My mom first and then my my mom first and then my grandma did. They both put that in. >> They put it in your backpack? >> Yes. [clears throat] >> I just don't drink this. This is my mom and my dad, but my grandma doesn't really drink it a lot of alcohol. She doesn't drink a lot. >> There's some suspicion that there's some reason. >> There was a much bigger problem coming from this family. At that moment, the other suspects had no idea what had just happened. Now, watch how the mother reacted the second she crossed paths with police. >> Danny, come on in here. >> Got him off. Step on in here, >> huh? Does that look familiar? >> Looks familiar. >> Yeah, it looks very familiar, doesn't it? >> All right. Why don't you go ahead and have a seat? Actually, go have a seat right over there. >> You got any ID on you? >> No. >> You don't have any ID? >> No. >> Do you have a driver's license? >> No. In the car. >> It's in the car. Okay. >> You want [music] me to stay here? >> Yeah. If you want to stay here, I'll go get grandma. >> You don't have anything on you? Wallet, anything? >> What's up with this? Three gifts. >> You're going to gift it to somebody? There's a lot of wine. 60 bucks on this wine. >> It's a movie. So people just And I heard you're from New York, right? >> New York. >> No resale activity. >> Oh, no way. No way. No. >> It's just unusual for someone to get that much wine. That's why we're asking. >> No. No. This is just a Christmas gifts for friends and family and office. >> It didn't stop there. Officers caught the grandmother in the parking lot as she pushed $380 worth of stolen goods. Their reunion was anything but pleasant. Hello, Miss Tamara. >> Yes. >> How are you? >> I'm fine, thank you. >> You need to come with me. >> Uh, >> yep. I have your I have your I have Yolina and your granddaughter. Come on. You can come with me. I'll take this. Come on. >> Okay. >> Come on. Don't go right in these doors up here. Come. Come with me. >> Oh. Oh. This way. >> Come here. I will push the cart. You come with me. Excuse me. All right, let's go. Stand right over there. Stand right over there. >> All right, so here's the rest of it. And let's see if there's anything else that's uh >> Yeah. Do you guys have any receipts for anything today? Did anybody pay for anything at this store today? >> You didn't pay for anything? >> No. >> So, you just walked out with all this? >> This is the from the from the store. >> You didn't pay for any of it? >> No. We just because of the wallet was in my car. That's why. >> That's not a really good excuse. >> That's what I did then. >> Yeah. >> You should have waited inside the store with the stuff though. >> That's It's my fault. I'm so sorry. >> Is this your backpack or was this backpack belong to Target? >> No, this is not a Target backpack. I >> I don't think that's a crazy question to ask. >> I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. No, it's not. >> It's not from Walmart. Police believed it was an organized theft, so they separated the family members to make the investigation easier. >> Money to pay for the items? >> Really? No. >> No, you don't have the money. >> Of course, I can afford like three bottles, >> but not this that kind of champagne. >> Oh, yeah. It's really expensive, which is makes it even worse that you're saying you can't afford it, yet you're going to steal it. So, all right. Hold on. >> Do we have video? I said hold hold on. No, it's too late for that. Hold on. >> I'm going to put the >> Okay, please hold on. >> I'm so sorry. >> Do we have video of grandma putting the things in the bag also or just her? We do. >> Grandma partially put it in the the glitter bag as well. >> All right. Sounds that weird way. I know they're your family, but them asking you to do things that are wrong like that's going to get you in trouble. >> I understand. >> Do you like do you want to go to jail? Cuz that's what happens. And then you're going to want goes to jail. I've been there before. You don't want to go. cuz she has a wallet in a car and uh I stay there and she go back to pay. That's what she told me. >> So why were you putting things in your granddaughter's backpack? >> What's that? >> I didn't mean this to happen. I mean I don't want to go to jail. >> I understand. I don't want you to go to jail. So you put them in your granddaughter's backpack. >> Just only Yeah. One bottle. >> Even one bottle. >> Me one bottle. >> Okay. >> Because >> why did you put it in the backpack? Why didn't you put it in the cart? >> Because she doesn't have a car. That's That's what's happening. >> Huh? >> She uh she's walked with me. She doesn't have a push car. I think I don't right now. I don't remember. But >> you don't remember why you were putting >> Because right now I'm so nervous. No, no. I I put in a in a in a bank. Yes. For my for my granddaughter. I put because she doesn't have a pushka. I think she's uh you know anyway she's a pay from the box. Sometimes sometimes I put it and uh go to registry and took everything. >> Even with clear camera evidence, the grandmother still tried to spin a terrible lie. When officers hit her with direct questions, she had nothing. Just the same answer every time. >> Let me finish. All the stuff that was in the bag in the cart that you had with you out at the car, none of that was go to bed. Come back to >> Why did you take it out of the store? >> This I don't know. It looks like >> that's stealing. >> Why you say it's stealing? >> Because you have Let me finish. Because you have things that belong to the store. You walked out of the store through your car with the stuff. >> No, I was without anything. >> When I found you at the car >> because she put she uh have a car. I walk without anything and she told me, "Wait, I have to go to see the granddaughter." That's what she told me. >> When you were at Walmart, what did you get caught taking? >> Just fruit. Nothing. Yeah. >> How long ago was that? >> I think last week. I'm not sure. >> So, what kind of food were we used to have? >> Strawberries and cucumbers. And um the only thing I can remember is that. >> But when I found you out, let let me When I found you out there, >> Yes. >> you had the grocery cart. Yes. >> And you had the bag that had all the wine in it. >> But I didn't know that. have all wine or something there. I didn't know that. I don't know. I don't see what she's was in the in because I was in the bottle. >> So, you're saying she put everything in the bag? >> I just want I put my granddaughter one barrel. What she uh That's it. Nothing else. >> After some time, a female officer arrived and police finally made their decisions about the fate of this entire family. In the end, this was the real answer to the grandmother's story. Except for me, I didn't take anything >> except the backpack that was on your back when you walked out of the store. Forget about that. Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. There's video of you walking out with the backpack on your back with a bunch of bottles of wine in it. >> Just only one b one. Only one. >> Stealing and stealing. Don't apologize to me. You didn't steal from me. >> Hang on a second. >> Hold on. Get her. >> Who's coming? Her dad. Okay. So, I am going to give these to all three of you. These two are going to go with you to the jail. I'll explain what they are. Okay. >> Okay. >> Thank you so much. >> You understand that? That means in the parking lot. That means in the store. Anywhere. Nowhere at Target. All right. >> Come on. I'll put her on the passenger side. And watch your head getting in. Watch your back. Finally, Tamara Keatley was charged with misdemeanor counts of petty theft as well as contributing to the delinquency of a minor. A small crime drag the whole family down. Bad choices don't just ruin you, they ruin everyone who follows you. In the next case, if you want to see remorse at its worst, watch this woman. >> So, see that? Look at that's a big black hole that she scanned. That's a small white little cup that she scanned. >> I'm going to sue Target. >> Oh, heck no. Uh-uh. No, no, no. I'm going to I'm going to sue you all. >> On August 9th, 2023, police received a call from Target reporting a woman with over 30 prior thefts who showed up again. The moment she walked in, employees shadowed her every move. When officers arrived on scene, the staff laid out everything they had witnessed. >> Hey guys, >> what's up? >> Got a lady. She ticket switches stuff. She she ticket switches like um she ticket switches using sock barcodes usually. It's a little bit >> um >> what was it based on? >> Like 2400. >> Okay. >> We have a name for her. I'm not sure if it's 100% accurate, but we have her as Thema Grant. >> Thema Grant? >> Yes. >> That's a old name. >> Yeah, she's old lady. I don't feel bad for her, though. She's She knows what she's doing. Like, she's been doing this for a while. Like, just to give you some insight. $2,400 in the back. >> How many? 32 incidences. >> Yeah. So, she's been doing this for a while. >> She's been in here for like 30 minutes. I'm expecting her to head to the front soon. >> Is she a nurse? >> I have no idea. I know the last time she came in though, she was wearing scrubs. So, that's kind of how I picked up on her today. I was like, "Okay, same scrubs." >> She's she's been hitting us forever. Like, her incident started 2020. So, she's been doing it for 3 years now. I think she's doing the switching in there where she's changing the barcodes out is what she did. She selected like an abundance of those, >> but she just tape them on. >> Well, they're sticky is what it is. So, um, those 50 cent cups and the 50 cent bowls, like the little plastic ones. >> She selected a lot of those. So, what I'm thinking before, what she's probably doing is taking the barcodes off of those and putting them >> putting them onto the apparel items that she selected and the other stuff so she can pay 50 cents for those. Her checkout tricks were fully exposed. She used a 50 cent plastic cup barcode to pay for multiple high-priced items, and the cameras captured every second of it. >> So, oh yeah, she's taking we're good. >> So, see that? Look at that's a big black bowl that she scanned. That's a small white little cup that she scanned. So, we're good. >> Let's just wait till she passes off point. >> Can you guys tell the difference? So you see that's a big black bowl and this is like a small white cup. >> Mhm. >> And then you should see her do it here again >> and the little paper bowls. Yeah. So she's still doing the cup. So we're good. We just need her to leave now. Perfect. This is wonder with the cup. >> She dumped them. She left them like um >> There she go. >> She left them where she dumped the other stuff. >> Hey, I'm sorry to bother. Um so I have Thumbler right here at the POS. She used ticket switch. She switched barcodes. She scanned everything in. But her card might decline. It looks like she's struggling to render payment. If that's the case, the police are saying they have enough to like charge her with shoplifting because she switched the barcodes. But what should we do to proceed? We can. >> Yeah. Try as long as the police want to. Um I'm I'm willing to prosecute on that. >> Okay. Okay. All right. Thank you. >> All right. Bye. >> Hey. So, she's still at the POS and she's been at the POS for 20 minutes now trying to render payment and offer. >> Remember the first time I got my baton? I went home and I played with it. >> When she tried to pay, her card kept declining. Officer stepped outside and moved in immediately. You could say she was completely stunned. >> Hey, ma'am. Drop your phone for me. >> Uhhuh. >> Drop your phone for me. >> Yes. >> You're under arrest right now. Okay. Place your hands place your hands behind your back. We'll tell you as soon as you're uncuffed. what I did. >> We'll tell you as soon as you're cuffed. >> What did I do? >> We'll tell you just let me get some handcuffs on you and then um >> we'll bring you back and we'll explain everything. >> Yeah. >> Sorry. >> What did I do, sir? >> Well, I'll let you know. Just let me get these cuffs on you real quick. >> Don't want to mess up your watch. >> Mhm. >> What in the world did I do? >> We'll explain. Just give us a second. Would you like me to grab your cell phone for you? >> Yes. What did I do, ma'am? >> So, let's explain it in the office. Okay. >> You going to move it over there? >> Did you want me to disconnect the call? >> Yes. >> What did I do? >> I'll check your purse, Miss >> Okay. >> So, >> the loss prevention officer is going to explain everything to you. >> Yes. >> Um, we're just going to sit down, have a conversation, and >> he'll explain everything. >> Right. cuz I didn't do I mean for y'all to come up and just handcuff me like that in front of everyone and I didn't do anything. >> Even though the cameras captured everything, the woman insisted firmly [music] that she had done nothing wrong. Once she was brought into the loss prevention office, she grew even more stressed over what they had seen. >> So switching switching the barcodes switching the barcodes of an item is a crime. >> I didn't switch no barcode. >> We have you on camera and we have >> What did you sir? You didn't see me switching nothing. I didn't switch no barcode anywhere. >> Yes, ma'am. Sir, show me, please. >> I have I have it right here. They They've seen it. They >> sir. No. Uhuh. You You need to show me. Show me. What did I do? >> You don't need to show. Okay. >> Show me. What did I do? >> You switched the barcodes of the items that you rang over. This is just the barcode. >> Sir, I promise you I DIDN'T SWITCH NO BARCODE. >> I We have it on. >> Sir, I didn't switch no barcode. >> What's your name? >> Yes, but what I'm saying is arrested for what? >> Shoplifting. >> Shoplifting. >> Please sit down. Sir, show me proof that I shop with anything. >> I just told you, >> sir. I didn't I No, I did not. No, I did not. >> Okay, have a seat for me. >> That Oh, heck. Well, uh-uh. Um, the only thing I did, I went and I bought what I had. I I was trying to get my money off the chime the whole time. >> What's your name? >> The woman showed a clearly upset expression at the repeated accusations. She seemed to feel that it affected her mentally and as a result she uttered words hinting at legal action. >> How you under arrest? First of all, sir, look here. First of all, I didn't leave out the store with anything and I didn't change no I didn't change no prices on anything. The only thing I did was scan what I had. >> When you were scanning things, they were it was coming up as a white plastic cup. >> Listen, I scanned what I had. You're not going to sit up here and tell me that I shoplifted anything. Okay. >> I stand the stuff that I had. >> That's something that if you wish to fight it in court, you can fight it in court. >> Oh, I'm definitely going to fight this in court. Okay. >> I'm definitely going to fight this in court now. >> So, we're not going to prosecute on this. We're just GOING TO PROSECUTE >> PROSECUTE. I DIDN'T take anything, sir. >> Sir, I SWITCHED THE BARCODE. >> FIRST OF ALL, I didn't switch any barcodes on anything. And I'm going to sue Target. >> Oh, heck no. Uh-uh. No. No. No. I'm going to I'm going to sue you all. I'm going to sue you all because this is not fair. This is not right. Nope. >> Okay. >> And then to have the police to come and handcuff me at the register around everybody. >> Okay. >> Oh, heck no. Uh-uh. >> All right. >> Didn't even DIDN'T EVEN BRING ME BACK HERE. Didn't even bring me back here. You're going to come up there and handcuff me in front of everybody. >> Okay, man. >> But she could not sue others for her own actions. And that was true. Meanwhile, she began to partially admit her behavior, thinking it was simple enough that she could plead for leniency. >> Oh, I'm definitely going to get me a lawyer. >> I'm not talking to you because I didn't because you didn't do anything to me. >> Okay. >> You didn't or you stood back. >> You're the reason why we're here. >> Listen, it doesn't matter, brother. He's the reason. I'm talking about what you all did. Kenny just banned me out the store. >> Was doing that, too? >> I know that, but Kenny let me go. That's up to them, but I don't think they are. >> Sir, that's that's all I'm asking. Sir, >> please, sir. Please. Cuz this is going to be on me and I'm going to lose my job. I work at the hospital and date surgery. Please. >> I Please, sir. >> He's got to keep his job, too. >> I I understand that. But this judge, it's their call. Please, sir. I won't step back in here. No way around it. Please, sir. I'll lose my job if this is on it. Please, it took me so long to get this job. >> Please, sir. I'm just begging you. Please, just what? Just please. >> I just can Can I just pay for the stuff and you please, sir? And let me go. >> I can't. Unfortunately, we have 33 incidents of you doing this >> from here. I do, >> sir. No, you Sir, I've never been Oh my god. >> You've never been to this store before? Is that what you're saying? >> I always shop in here. I live right down the street. Okay, >> sir. You have never caught me in no shoplifting or anything like that in here. >> In the end, she was charged with shoplifting for that incident and permanently banned from all target locations. Lesson: No matter the tricks, excuses, or please, the law sees through deception. Attempts to evade responsibility are completely feudal. Unlike the previous woman, these girls did not even recognize the seriousness of their crime. >> Jail. >> I'm going to jail. >> You're going to adult jail? Yes. I'm going to >> you guys. >> So, I might have to sleep there >> possibly. >> Oh my god. With like old people like I mean like old like really bad people. >> On July 3rd, 2024, law enforcement responded to a Target in Florida after loss prevention caught two young women stealing over $1,000 worth of cosmetics. When officers arrived, the girls were escorted to the loss prevention office for inspection and processing. >> You guys got to start emptying everything out. How old are you guys? >> 17 18. >> Yeah, it was just makeup. >> Whose purses? >> Huh? >> Whose purse is which? >> It's just two purses. It's not >> Well, from the store. >> This stuff is whose? Mine? Hers? >> Okay. >> 17 and 18. Great. >> Minor. That's good. >> Well, these things are popular. >> R. You guys are technically under arrest. You are getting searched. Okay. So, before you stand up, if there is anything hidden on you now, take it out. >> Well, I have my lip gloss, but this is mine. I just have a >> and nothing else. >> No >> positive. Okay, put that down. We're going to have to confirm that that's yours and we'll go from there. >> Okay, >> stand up. Turn. You have anything? There's nothing in your bra, right? Okay. You don't have any pockets, right? >> No. >> No. All right. Get down. Easy enough. Excellent. Stand up. Same thing for you. Nothing in your bra. Shake it out. Turn around. No pockets. >> Nope. >> Have a seat. >> Do you guys carry glossier? >> Chris. >> Glossier. No. Okay. >> Their ages complicated the situation, prompting the officers to make separate decisions for each of them. Notice the blonde girl's reaction to the consequences. >> All right, so you guys, you're going to juvenile detention. You're going to the main >> jail. >> I'm going to jail. >> You're going to adult jail. Yes, >> I'm going to jail. >> You guys are being arrested. >> Criminal. >> You guys are You guys are being arrested with >> You guys are being arrested with a felony because you guys came in with the intention to shoplift. That was your only attention. You guys work together and your total amount is over 750. Now, if your total amount combined was 500, it's a different story. But because you guys total amount is 750. >> Wait, do I have to like sleep in jail? Like sleep there? >> It depends on they might give you a bond. >> Have appearance. >> What's a bond? >> What? Like what is I don't I don't understand. >> A bond is where they'll let you go out with a court date, but they still process you and that might take some time. >> So, I might have to sleep there >> possibly. Oh my god. With like old people like I mean like old like really bad people. >> Exactly. Just like her. She seems to think she's part of some hidden camera show. So she feels excited at the moment. Even with her anxiety, she remains surprisingly optimistic. >> Okay. You're technically going to custom. >> So I have to get cuffed before I use the bathroom. >> Yes. How can I use the bathroom then? That's why I just said I'm letting you be handcuffed in the front to use the restroom instead of the back. It's much easier to be able to reach to the sides, pull yourself down, and wait. Okay. >> I'm going to do that for you. Okay. >> All right. Go ahead and stand up here. Let's take this off. We'll put everything in. >> We haven't called yet. It doesn't hurt you. I'm going to put this right here. Okay. Mhm. I can't take this off. >> I think it's going to happen. >> Um, yeah, you're have to discuss that with the jack. >> Normally, all jewelry comes off. >> I know. >> Okay. >> Take off this phone. >> I don't know. It's possible. >> So, the worst phone call in my life. >> Let's hope that is the actual worst phone call of your life. >> I don't even have a call. I think my dad will be more understanding. >> I'm coming. I can't [snorts] >> I know my mom is very scared. >> She was given the chance to call home and report what had happened. After showing some distress to her parents, it's clear she's also enjoying the moment with her friend. >> So, how long are we like supposed to stay? >> Are you depends on when somebody wants to come pick up? >> Nothing's good. I got into trouble [snorts] >> in Target >> cuz I was shoplifting and I just got arrested. for her. >> Her is different. She has to be um seen by a judge and given a bond or >> um what's the address of this Target? >> 500 North Congress. >> 500 North Congress. And I need someone to pick up my car for me. [snorts] >> I don't even know where to go. I know he wants to talk to one of you guys. >> I don't know about what >> anything else. >> Um, am I going to go with a munch and everything? >> Yep. That's how it works. >> Wanted person. not part of a costume. [snorts] >> Like I actually just can't I don't I keep crying again. >> I can't cry about it. Like I'm just so pissed off. >> Have you ever had this on? >> Yes. It's disgusting. >> Any time. >> You do not need to go to the bathroom. >> Oh, I was just about to say >> cuz I am your last chance. Yeah, I was about to say to you like go before so I can do this. I got to be >> I told you. >> Yeah, [laughter] >> company beforehand. >> The blonde girl's attitude toward her wrongdoing is striking. Even now, she fails to grasp the seriousness of the situation. >> Oh my god, it's my mom. Did I wrong? >> I know. I know. Mommy, don't cry. It Do I sound like I'm laughing? Mommy, tell me something that hasn't been explained to me already. Mommy, I'm well aware. Mommy, I trust me, I am the most stressed out right now. Mommy, because what do you want me to do? Break down and crying for the fifth time? Okay, Mom. Mom, dad is calling me. My dad is calling me. Can I answer? Hello. >> I'm sorry. The address again, please. >> 500 North Congress. >> 500 North Congress. >> Google Target Lake Park. >> Girl, I'm going to be in an orange jumpsuit. >> Orange, by the way. They're like navy blue. >> I need to be in navy blue. Like, oh my gosh. >> Mommy, don't do all of that. Mommy, don't you think that a night in jail is a freaking punishable offense? Well, getting handcuffed if a cop is a punishment. >> You don't think so? >> 34 384 33 >> Hello. >> Hello. >> Beautiful. >> Wait. Hello. >> I have one. >> For you or for me? I'm embarrassed. I had to walk to the bathroom. >> The girls rode in separate vehicles to different destinations. Yet until the very end, they seemed to be enjoying the experience. >> Excuse me. Um, excuse me. Excuse me, >> Samantha. >> Yeah. >> Any song you want to listen to? >> Are you for real? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um, >> um, don't by Bryson Tiller. >> Is this like don't shoplive? >> Yes, exactly. That >> next song is write my wrongs. Like >> Who the Listen to this? [singing] I am on a whole another level. >> Changed the song. Oh my god. >> They were charged with felony shoplifting. Trying to hide your actions rarely works. Honesty and taking responsibility early can prevent minor mistakes from turning into serious legal consequences. Next, this man was even caught red-handed attempting to cash a massive check. >> On the ground. On the ground. I'll pop you. >> I'mma light you up, buddy. I'm telling you. >> What do you mean? >> I don't [clears throat] I can't really can't say too much. I mean, do do you owe people money? >> On August 8th, 2025, deputies were dispatched to a bank following a report of fraud involving a man attempting to deposit a suspected fake check for $1 million just days after opening his account. Upon arrival, bank staff detailed all their suspicions to the officers. >> All right, so it's televated and I have a check that this guy presented, but I guess this kind of runs deeper. Usually, it's just like someone running into a scam, but I guess this guy's actually like stolen the identity of another individual. Um, my loss prevention manager wanted me to call her while you guys are here, so let me call her real quick. >> Do you have any information on this guy? >> She's going to have everything for you. >> Okay. >> I guess she does know like a true identity. I guess they have to use facial recognition or something to track them down, but I'll let her kind of get into all that. I don't really know much more than that. >> But when he presented this last night, I was like, "Yeah, we're holding that." That's probably fake. >> He just opened his account six days ago in the red by a dollar and he deposited his million dollar checks. >> He's in jail. >> Were you here when he came in? >> Yeah, last night. >> Was he wearing anything covering his spikes? It didn't. >> Um, he was wearing a hat and sunglasses. Room sunglasses. >> Yes. >> Were you able to um provide him with the image of the check? >> Um, they have I thought I was giving them the actual check. >> Yeah, you can give it to them. >> Okay. Yeah. So, they have the check and they have a color affidavit. >> Perfect. Um, do they have any questions for me as to the situation? >> They were asking me if we have any information on this individual, the one that walked in. So, I'm just going to move my phone over to the deputy here. >> The bank also provided additional information about the incident and confirmed that this was a case involving serious wrongdoing. >> First running with him, never seen a guy before. He just thought he was going to come in and he established his business I believe on 618 of 2025. It was registered on Sundays at that time. Um, [clears throat] and then he just established these business accounts here. I'm not even sure if this is a real business. Not even I guarantee you this is not a not a valid check. Um we're not able to confirm it tonight either way, but we definitely know for sure that this is identity theft. >> Okay. Um so [clears throat] you said 61825 he opened an account. >> Uh he opened the account here on now that was when he uh registered the business on Sundays. He established the account here on and I'll give you that date. August 1st, 2025. >> Okay. >> In Hayes City, Florida. >> In Hayes City. So, he opens the account with his driver's license is excuse me, is Miami and then uh >> the driver's license is Washington. >> Oh jeez. Okay. >> A week later on August 15th, 2025, deputies approached the suspect when he appeared again at the Speedway gas station near the bank. He showed no awareness of being caught and ignored the officer's orders. >> Out here. Out here now. >> Outside. >> Hold up. I didn't do anything. >> Get on the ground. >> Why? >> Get on the ground. >> I didn't do anything. >> Get on the ground. >> I didn't do anything. >> Get on the ground. >> Inside. Speed boy. >> On the ground. >> On the ground. I'll pop you. >> I'm going light you up, buddy. I'm >> What do you mean? >> You move. I'm going light you up. What? Light up, sir. I didn't >> get on the ground. For what? >> Get on the ground. >> I told you why. No, I didn't. >> Get on the ground. >> I want to know. Why are you What? What? What? >> Get on the ground now. >> What did I do? >> Get on the ground. >> Sir, I didn't do anything. >> Get on the ground. >> I didn't do anything. >> Get on the ground. Tell him you go get lit up. >> I didn't do anything. Why are you >> You hear me? Minute you move, you get popped. >> Why are you going to pop me? I didn't >> You move and you can't get popped. Go to that door. >> The man stubbornly insisted on his innocence. Since this was a million-dollar case, the deputies had to take the arrest very seriously. >> I didn't do anything. I didn't do anything. Are you recording? I didn't do anything. >> I didn't do anything. >> Okay. >> Need another side. Listen, I'm going to roll on your side. I want you to tuck your legs so we can sit you up. >> Yes, sir. >> Ready? We're going to just sit you up to me. So, grab this one. Ready? You want to use your leg? We're going to push it. Ready? One, two, three. ID on identify. >> At this point, the man still refused to accept what had happened. calmly. He denied having resisted in any way. >> Okay. So, what's going on here? >> Can I ask what am I being charged for >> right now? You you resisted us cuz we detained you based off of what was going on at the bank. >> I didn't resist anything. I didn't resist anybody. >> As far as the sergeant was giving you commands to stop and you didn't listen. >> I didn't I didn't understand why I was even being >> I didn't understand why I was even being offered, you know, pursued. >> Tell me what happened with the check. Um, I'm not sure, sir. I'm just a normal guy. Like I said, normal guy. I don't know what may or may have been the case with anything. So, I have no idea what's going on. >> Zach, can you >> You're telling me you don't you never tried to deposit a check or anything >> a while back under the name Greg Cooper? >> Is that your Is that your actual name, Greg Cooper? >> Um, like I said, sir, I have no idea what's going on. I just want to know why I was being detained >> right now. You're you're being detained for resisting and we're trying to figure out what's going on. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Just do me a favor, swinging. You're not under arrest at this time. We'll let you know. >> After attempting to argue against the allegations of resisting the officers, fell silent when confronted about the bank check incident at Mid Florida Bank. When you came up here uh beginning of August, uh you have that business account, Cooper Legacy Builders. um you had that $1 million check and so I'm I'm I'm the one who went to the bank. I IDed you. We saw you on camera. The bank IDed you. That Washington driver's license that you have and everything. So the reason that I'm talking to you right now is is I just I just want to know what why why were you doing that? Like >> do you need the money? Are you in trouble in any way? >> I mean a million dollars is a lot of money. I'm sorry. >> I [clears throat] don't I can't really say too much. >> Can't say too much. I mean, do do you owe people money? >> Oh, >> I just I personally I've never seen a check that big. So, I just I just want to know what you're going you're swinging for the fence first time. Just want to make sure you're not in any trouble or you don't caught up with the wrong people. >> I can't You got to speak up a little I I just I I don't I don't I just >> Yeah, you can just talk to me. Just just tell me tell me why you came up here with uh with the million dollar check and tried to deposit it. And I mean there's there's got to be a reason for it. I I understand being in trouble financially, right? I I do, believe it or not. I've I've had my fair share of ups and downs and I've needed money in certain situations. So, I just want to make sure that everything, you know, wherever you're from is is okay. There's not going to be people looking for you. You're not. >> Although he did not explicitly admit it, the man's silence suggested partial acknowledgement and the deputies offered him some advice. And that's fine. People make, you know, people make mistakes. I'm not saying, you know, you're not a you're not a bad guy. You know what I mean? I can't even see your eyes. You got got your shades on. But, you know, you don't seem like a bad dude. just seems like you made a bad decision and you, you know, kind of got a lot of uh little things stacked up here. So, like the fake IDs and the everything else. And so, I mean, it is what it is, man. >> The suspect was charged with uttering a false instrument, schemed to defraud over $50,000, possession of a fake or altered ID, and use of another person's identification without consent. The lesson here is that even when someone tries to deny their actions, evidence can quickly expose the truth, showing that attempting a highstakes fraud carries serious consequences. Next is the case of a bank manager who ended his 15-year career in utter disgrace. >> I'm here to arrest you. You're under arrest for grand theft scheme to defraud. On May 30th, 2025, Palm Beach police were called to an IHOP restaurant after discovering that general manager Mark Schwarz had vanished with thousands of dollars. The situation escalated when customers began filing complaints. Here's what happened. >> You are, what's your title? >> Area director. >> So, um, total of 7,000 $7,340.50. >> Correct. >> All right. So, uh, the person that was here as a manager, managing >> general manager, >> uh, I'm being told his name is >> Mark. It's spelled M A RC. >> Okay. >> Schwarz. >> The suspect was identified as 43-year-old Mark Schwarz, the restaurant's financial manager. When officers spoke with the area director and accountant, they discovered six bank deposits worth over $7,340 were missing. And what they suspected next was far more serious. Okay. So, the 27th he was supposed to come to work, >> but uh on the 26th he called you. >> He called about 12:30 a.m. >> Okay. He called you uh about what time? >> Uh 12:30 a.m. >> 12:30. And he say his mother passed away. >> His mother passed away and he will be leaving to the Carolas. >> Okay. Did you say North Carolina? South Carolina. >> I think he said North Carolina. >> North Carolina. And then I sent another one this morning. Good morning. I'm begging you to call me. >> Okay. >> Emergency deposits missing. But in the meantime, I'm calling >> in between and he is not. >> So you have you haven't had any any answer from me? >> No. Okay. >> Zero response. >> Okay. >> Through phone or text. It's like he completely >> Not a problem. So >> stop communicating. From May 26th to May 30th, Mark was repeatedly absent with various excuses. And when questioned about the missing deposits, he cut off all contact, leaving them no choice but to call the police. Mark had a clean 15-year record despite once delaying a bank deposit. >> May 10th for how much? Remember? >> Um, it was 1252. >> 1252. >> 1252. And was the also delay? >> Um, there was a six 6 day 7day delay. Six day delay >> making it to the bank. >> But then it made it. >> It made it. But it made it. >> We don't know how. >> No, he brought it. >> He's saying he left it in his vehicle. >> Okay. Six day delay. Uh he claimed it fell into the crack of his seat. He >> as >> Oh, he fell down in the seat >> like in between the cracks of his seat. I I just need him being held accountable, you know, and it's a it's a shame because he and I go way back and he's a nice guy, but I just don't what it what's right's right. What's wrong is wrong. >> After weeks of searching, police finally found Mark Schwarz at his home. He seemed genuinely surprised, as if the unexpected gift was being caught far sooner than he ever imagined. >> Mark Do you have a word with you, please? >> You have any weapons on you? >> No. >> Okay. I'm here to arrest you. You're under arrest for grand theft scheme to defraud. Throw it out. >> We're going to be involved. >> I know you have a daughter. Is she inside? >> Yeah. But >> how's the shoulder? We got one one white male type of thing. >> Is it better? >> Yeah. I'm going to take this watch off. >> Okay. >> Who's in the house right now? Nobody. Nobody with you? >> No. I don't know. It's all my The investigator presented video evidence showing Mark taking the cash envelope from the manager's office. Realizing he'd still be taken to the county jail, Mark grew shaky, asked to call his wife, and begged that his children not see him being arrested. >> Said no one's in the house with you. No, I have >> one of your daughters 18. >> You have the key key to the house. >> Hotel is open. >> Knock on the door and let them know. You want to give him any uh stuff? Please don't. >> You're in custody. You're under arrest for grand theft and scheme to defraud. Okay. >> Hey, it's me. Um, the cops just came and arrested me um for talking about uh grand theft through IHOP. Um, don't tell the girls. I don't know where I'm going now. I'll contact you as soon as I can. Thank you. Bye. >> Great message to leave, >> huh? Great message to leave. Yeah. Mark Schwarz was formally charged with felony grand theft and felony organized scheme to defraud, serious financial crimes carrying potential years in state prison, and thousands of dollars in fines. From a respected manager to a convicted thief, his downfall proved how one reckless decision can destroy an entire career built over decades. Next, watch how a mother-daughter duo turned a simple refund into absolute chaos. BUT ANYBODY [screaming] who >> Hey. [screaming] >> On March 13th, 2025, police were called to investigate a hit-and-run accident after a woman reportedly fled the scene of a crash. Both the [snorts] suspect and the victim contacted authorities, but what happened next shocked everyone. >> Stuff mark. Yeah. >> He cuts through the gas station, pulls out the other side, goes by my friend, the wolves house. They're outside in the front yard. I'm yelling, "Hit and run. Hit and run." They're like, "Oh, great." Had I not seen him, he would he would have crushed me. >> He was behind you or on the side of you trying to think too late. >> It's too late. I was actually here when he cut in and I hammered the brakes and went back up on the curb. So, he goes like that. >> I don't know. I'd like to see the other guy's car. They called in as well. They're wondering why they were being chased by a a truck. >> Yeah, cuz they cut me off. >> But that's why I want to see another truck. All right. So, let me uh let me do some uh digging. Get the telephone number. They're a party. See where they're where they live and where they're at. Yeah, it's >> The witness said the woman's truck cut across the gas station, caused a crash, and quickly fled the scene. When officers arrived at her home, she immediately offered a series of conflicting excuses. >> Came out I came out of Advanced Auto Part um uh whatchamacallit and then I came back into the gas station. So, I was literally making like a U-turn into the gas station and he was in the far >> lane right here and the light was red. So, >> I see that's that's crazy nonsense. All right. So, he's saying this side of the car is what struck his car. I don't see where this side of the car >> I hit his car. >> That's what he's saying. >> I was behind He was behind me. >> There's no damage on this side of your car. He's saying that you >> No, he definitely hit me. I just talked to him. >> He did say you did pull into the gas station and he bounced out the other side and then he was like, "What?" >> Well, because he was still following me. I thought he was going to stop. You know what I'm saying? And then he and then he was coming and I was like, >> "I don't know what's going on." You know what I'm saying? I got my baby in the car. So, >> you're saying where? >> I'm not sure. He I just talked to him at the um gas station. >> The only thing that I would notice is this right here. The woman insisted she had been hit from behind, repeatedly changing her story and blaming the other driver. She confidently claimed that the camera would prove her innocence. However, when officers reviewed the gas station footage, the truth was completely the opposite. >> Reviewed the video with you? >> No, she didn't. It was just me. >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah. So, I was just telling her like, >> "Okay. All right." But how do you know she went into the other lane? >> I mean, like it's on the camera now. She turned into I told her like, "Hey, it looks like you turned into his lane." But she said she came out of her. You went to the other lane and came back in. [laughter] >> You can't do that, boss. You can't go out to that lane then come back in. >> Yeah, that was all day long. You know, >> you got to be a happy camper. [laughter] >> Thanks, boss. Appreciate it. >> On the camera, you know, she said she came out of You went to the other lane and came back in. >> I looked at the video. >> Uh-huh. >> It's not It's not benefiting you. >> Why not? He hit me from behind if he hit me. >> Ma'am, you're in the other lane. You crossed in front of him. Okay. So, you can't do that. >> Uhhuh. >> All right. So, what I need is your license and insurance to the vehicle >> from for him hitting me from behind. >> I need your information. Now, you left the scene of a crash. We're not going to go down this leaving the scene of crash. >> Are you being serious right now? >> Being serious? >> Okay. Give me a second. I'm going to shut this door. I have somebody in here. >> I I need >> Okay. Yeah. >> Uh-huh. Yep. >> When asked to provide her documents, the suspect became evasive and refused to cooperate, then played the call my mom card, trying to turn the incident into a simple misunderstanding. >> Look at this. Look at the video. Look. Look. Look. HE WOULD HAVE HIT ME FROM THE BACK. BRO, ARE YOU SERIOUS? Are you serious? >> Mom, listen. >> Tell her to come home. >> Talk to this man. >> You're going to end up going to jail. >> Videos don't lie, ma'am. Trying to make it easy, ma'am. You're the one making it. You're the one. Videos don't lie. YOU KNOW I AM. YOU KNOW I AM. I'VE NEVER VIDEOS DON'T LIE. NOBODY SAY YOU'RE IN TROUBLE. DON'T DO THAT. >> GO MAKE THIS MORE THAN IT NEEDS TO BE. >> YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'VE BEEN THROUGH. >> DON'T MAKE IT MORE THAN IT NEEDS TO BE. >> YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'VE BEEN THROUGH. >> All right. Go get your children. Come on back. Go get your children. Come on back. >> N you better come talk to this. >> Yeah. Tell she can show up. She can look at the video. >> Not even talking to you. Even with clear evidence and witnesses against her, she kept shouting that she was innocent and being discriminated against. Officers patiently allowed her to pick up her children, but the situation quickly escalated afterward. >> I'm calm, but this is not going to get turned around on me. I can't be scared of a white man in America because I be like, and then he comes and he tries to turn this around on me. Like, it's >> miss. Please come here. JUST SAID TO GET MY IDENTIFICATION, DIDN'T YOU? >> OKAY. >> I You said you didn't have it. So, I >> I was talking to my mom. She said the insurance. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Is it still state form? Ask your mom's still state form. >> Do you want me to get it or not? >> Insurance information. >> Listen, now that Bro, I can't stand, bro. I swear to God. >> Police tried explaining over and over, but the woman just screamed, argued, and dragged things out until they had no choice but to step in. And that's when everything truly spiraled out of control. All right, let's let's go. Let's do this. >> That's what I'm saying. >> Put your hand in your back. >> WHY? THEY'RE NOT ARRESTING ME. MOMMY [screaming] for no reason. >> No. No. No. No. PLEASE. [screaming] >> WHY? NOW YOU'RE ARRESTING ME, MOM. WHOA. WHOA. WHOA. My bro, bro. >> He's back. Leo, >> get on MY MOM, BRO. >> NO. PLEASE DON'T DO THIS to me. I didn't even do anything, bro. I won't. Please. You don't have to hold me. You don't have to hold me, dog. You don't have to hold me. >> Just relax. Just relax. >> Don't do this in front of my kids, dog. I didn't even do anything. Ma'am, how many times did we give you two years? >> Get my phone. >> Get my phone and call Granny. >> GRANDMA'S ALREADY ON THE PHONE. >> GET OFF OF ME, DUDE. >> For real. Get off me. >> The chaotic struggle erupted right in front of the young children inside the house. Both mother and son were restrained. Their refusal to calm down, forcing officers to struggle as they escorted them to the car. I I didn't charge at you, bro. >> Why are you pushing me, dog? Have a seat in the car. What's with you, bro? >> Get in the car. >> I'm not going to play GAMES WITH YOU, DUDE. >> MOMMY, >> STAY IN THE CAR. >> PLEASE. PLEASE. [screaming] PLEASE. I Please. >> VERY SIMPLE. YOU TRIED TO COOP. Oh my gosh. [screaming] >> Tried to cooperate. Oh my gosh. >> JESUS. >> OH MY GOD. >> WHAT ARE YOU DOING? You're making this worse than what it is. You've made this worse. You just pulled. You made it worse. >> I DID THAT. >> ALL THE WAY AROUND. >> I'M NOT EVEN FIGHTING YOU. >> GET IN. >> GET IN. HAVE A SEAT. >> OH my god. Did you break my to >> You made this worse than the one that needed to be. >> You pushed me. >> You pushed me, bro. >> Nobody pushed you. She's fell in the ground. >> Police later showed the grandmother the video evidence, confirming that both her daughter and grandson were at fault. Their late remorse could no longer undo the charges they had brought upon themselves. >> I'm going to show you the video. Okay. I was trying to be very cordial and polite. You're on the phone the whole time. You heard it. I gave her plenty opportunities. All right. I wasn't trying to take it down the path of leaving the scene of a crash, which her daughter did. All right. I was trying to keep it simple as a simple short form crash. She couldn't accept that she was at fault. Okay. Now, when I talked to her, I told her the other party is claiming that she hit him. Okay. That turned out to be the truth. All right. So, I'm going to show you the video so you can see what went on. And I'm I'm being very very very cooperative and very courteous and give you the whole answer. All right. So, and then once we went to take her and cuss it cuz she was continuing to playing games with us. I don't have all time. Your grandson come running out and charging us. >> Charging at us. >> All right. He didn't know. He >> actually runs into the other officer. >> Yeah. Runs into the officer. [laughter] >> Stand right there. >> Stay right there, buddy. In the end, the woman was charged with two counts, leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage and resisting an [music] officer. Her son was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer. What seemed like a minor traffic incident turned into a heartbreaking family tragedy. A bitter reminder that running from responsibility only makes things worse. >> Turn around. Turn that way. Like I'm a black man for real. >> Okay. Well, I'm a minority, too. >> Yeah, but but we not but we not talking about you. We talking about me. >> On February 16th, 20124, Florida police rushed to a Subway restaurant after reports that an employee had stolen thousands of dollars from the safe. When confronted, the suspect remained eerily calm. Was the stolen money really used for charity? Let's find out what actually happened. 6 in uh roast beef and cheese with Swiss. >> Mr. Smith, step away. Turn around. Turn that way. Turn that way. Turn that way. Face that way, please. Thank you very much. Ladies, it's going to be a moment for your sandwiches. I do apologize. Is in no way, shape, or form reflects poorly on Subway. I hope that you guys do crash and you enjoy your meal. Thank you, sir. Come on, please. Any knives or anything on your bun? >> No, no, no. Someone will be right out to help you. No, she >> Lewis Smith, a trusted employee loved by customers and relied on by his boss enough to handle the store safe, took advantage of that trust, quietly stealing for months, racking [snorts] up a $10,000 loss that would shock any owner. >> And you are the owner? Yes. And what is the address of the subway? >> 1241 Southern Boulevard, sweet 2 L. Okay. And um what day did you notice the shortage? >> Um should have been Well, I've noticed the sales been down for a while, but last uh let's see two Saturdays ago would have been the third I went to the store and there was, you know, I opened the safe expecting there to be money and there was none. So that kind of got me thinking. store owner Jake reported weeks of unusually low sales. When he checked the safe, the cash had nearly vanished and every voided transaction matched Louiswis's shifts. Confronted with the evidence, the suspect claimed he did it for a reason. >> Two weeks. >> Mhm. >> All right. You have been voing out transactions, taking cash from customers, and it doesn't go into cash >> the till. Wow. >> You've been pocketing the money. So there's a lot of video matching up with all your cancellations. So your boss came to us and said, "Hey, I have Mr. Smith has 86 voided transactions over a twoe period, which is far above normal, >> right? >> So there's an aotted amount of voided transactions. You bring up the applesauce or whatever, you're going to avoid it out. You're avoiding a whole transaction like three subs, two subs. And then in a video when we correlate the transaction to the video, I understand like rent rent's expensive, >> right? >> A lot of shit's expensive, >> right? >> And I understand that working a job like that and then you also just got out of prison a couple years ago. >> Yeah. >> So it's hard to get a job that's going to pay. >> But it ain't got nothing to do with that. No, cuz cuz if that's the case, [clears throat] if that's the case, I would have been back in prison for real. The investigation showed Lewis repeatedly cancelled transactions, pocketing the cash like nothing happened. When confronted, he talked about fate and fairness, staying calm, completely unfased by the thought of going back to prison. >> Nah, it's it's not that cuz it's like since you guys got camera footage, you could go back and I've haven't stole from him. Feel what I'm saying? Like, >> so in the last two weeks, have the universe changed for you? Where are you? No. What I what I mean by the universe meaning whatever someone does, they either going to have to accept it or run from it for real. >> Oh, that's everything in life. >> You know, I I've haven't been treated fairly sitting up here and making it a race issue. >> Okay. >> You know what I'm saying? But at the end of the day, like I'm a black man for real. >> Okay. Well, I'm a minority, too. >> Yeah. But but we not but we not talking about you. You talking about me. >> I understand it. I'm minority. But what? >> He complained about low pay and claimed he did it for the people. Proudly calling himself a modern-day Robin Hood, except no one benefited but him. >> I get it. I'm for the people though, man. I'm for the people, man. I'm like, it is what it is. >> So, is the Was the money going to the people? >> I'm for the people. Yeah, you damn for sure. For sure. >> You're like Robin Hood. >> Um, >> you're doing some Robin Hood Robin Hood, right? >> You taking money from people got money and giving it to the people? >> I guess. I guess >> in the end, Louiesie was charged with grand theft and organized fraud, totaling $10,000 in losses. The court sentenced him to 5 years of probation and ordered full restitution to the store. Greed often hides behind excuses that sound noble. No matter how you justify it, theft is still theft, and justice always finds a way to take back what was stolen. And now, let's watch how a welfare check turned into felony. >> Shut the idiot. Get the my house. >> Turn around. Turn around. Turn around. >> For what? Are you in my house? >> Yes. >> Yes. >> On April 7th, 2024, officers conducted an emergency welfare check at an apartment on Boulevard East, New Jersey, after neighbors reported yelling and strange noises, fearing someone might be in danger. Upon arrival, the resident refused to cooperate, barricading herself inside and locking the door, escalating the situation quickly. She's not She's not going to answer anymore. She She's like, "No, >> I'll make her dog bark until >> Open the door. We're going to take it down." >> Okay. >> Police, open up. >> Do you hear her? >> She not She locked She just locked the door. >> She just locked the door. After multiple warnings and requests to cooperate, the suspect's mother finally opened the door. But as officers stepped inside, they were immediately met with the daughter's arrogance and hostility. Okay. Come on, pooch. >> Who's in here? >> You're not allowed to go in the house. Get the out of this house. >> Hold on a second. >> GET THE OUT. >> WE GOT WE GOT TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS SAFE HERE. >> GET THE OUT OF THIS HOUSE RIGHT NOW. GET the house. Get out of the house. Goodbye. Goodbye. Goodbye. Goodbye. No. No. No. MOMMY. What are you looking for? For what? For what? >> We got calls that there was guys here trying to break in. No, no, no. >> THERE IS OH MY GOD, LOOK AT THEM. >> Officers tried to explain they were only conducting a safety check after reports of a possible break-in, but the woman completely lost control, hurling insults and openly challenging law enforcement. >> Get the out of my house right now. Get the house. >> I'm going to ask I don't care. I'm going to ask the house. No, I'm not doing here. Get the idiot. Get the my house. >> Let us explain to you here. >> I know you got the my house right now. >> Instead of cooperating, the 31-year-old chose to put her hands on an officer. A foolish decision that would soon cost her dearly. >> Thing is something something definitely happened. >> Okay. So, look for it. >> Look for it so I could sue all you mother. We're doing it. >> We're not doing anything wrong. >> Look for it. Look for it for No, actually, you're not going in my house. >> We have to check. >> Look, I don't care. >> Is there somebody in there or No, >> no. Take your hands off. Take your hands off. YOU'LL BE UNDER ARREST FOR TOUCHING DOGS. All right. Turn around. Turn around. >> Turn around. Turn around. Turn around. >> For what? Are you in my house? Stop. >> No. >> Stop. My house. >> My house. I got her in cop and I have no cops. >> Yo, get her down. Just you got her already. >> Yeah, she able. >> I will. I will. Able. Able. I am able. >> Step on me again. Able. >> Step on me again. Step on me again. Step on me again. Step on me again. >> She a step on you. >> Yes, she did. >> You kicked her. >> Yes, she did. You kicked her. She step on me. >> She didn't step on you. Now, ma'am, look. Listen. Breathe. We're going to help you. >> Get the out. We are going to help YOU GET >> IN MY HOUSE. >> Even after being restrained and handcuffed, she kept thrashing and cursing, forcing officers to use stronger measures to pull her out of the apartment. >> Let's go. >> No, you're not making up. >> I'm not getting enough money. >> PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE. >> WHY YOU OPEN THE DOOR? WHY? YOU TOLD HER TO OPEN THE DOOR. >> YOU'RE DEAD. >> YOU JUST LISTEN TO ME. >> Then you have to listen. >> I don't give a >> She put her hands on office door. >> They were in my house. They were in my house. >> Can you guys stop? Please. >> She's not. She's not responding. >> Can you just listen? Listen. >> Ma'am, she's under arrest right now. Ma'am, right now you're you're impeding our arrest. >> You're going to be under arrest, too, if you stay. >> A family member tried to intervene, but was warned they could also be arrested for obstruction. Things could have ended peacefully. The officers gave her every chance, but her relentless defiance finally pushed their patients to the limit. >> No, she wants to get dragged on the floor. Drag on the floor. >> Stop kicking, man. Oh, look. They're looking, right? >> Get the elevator. Jonathan, the elevator's down. >> Okay, that's it. That's it. WHY AM I ON THE RIGHT? WHY AM I UNDER ARREST? >> WHY AM I UNDER? >> Why am I under arrest? >> Why am I under arrest? >> SHUT THE WHY AM I under arrest? [screaming] >> Why am I UNDER ARREST? >> CLOSE THAT DOOR. IT'S fair to say the officers had to put in serious effort just to get her back to the station while the woman stayed fully in character, playing the bullied victim the entire way. >> Drag me, please. >> Do you want to act like that? >> I don't give a Who's going to come? >> Stand up. >> You already been dragging me. Shut the >> Because you're making this harder for us. >> No. Who's making hard anything? Go work for doing your Yo, go work for your [ __ ] >> Going up out of nowhere. Why don't you call him? >> Yo, you're such a liar. >> You're going to get fired. You know that, right? >> I'm not trying to get you fired. >> You're going to get No. Who is Why? Why? Why would I get fired? You're going to get fired. >> I don't know. I'm probably dying. In the end, the woman was charged with third and fourthderee assault on a police officer as well as obstruction of law enforcement. What began as a simple welfare check spiraled into a chaotic nightmare, all because of ego and senseless defiance. And she ultimately paid the price for her own actions.
