Hey, >> settle down. >> I know. Settle down. >> Settle down. >> He's not hurting. >> On the 25th of February, 2025, while an officer was on duty at a Walmart, he suddenly noticed a disturbance unfolding inside the store. A customer was reportedly assaulting a Walmart employee. The officer immediately rushed over to intervene and bring the situation under control. Hey, you're you're under arrest. Stop. YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. >> WHY AM I UNDER ARREST? >> Put your hands behind your back now. >> Got to resist me at Walmart. >> How am I resisting? HOW AM I RESISTING YOU? >> You're under arrest. >> How am I resisting? >> Stop. >> How am I RESISTING? HOW AM I RESISTING? I'm over at the >> Why are YOU CUSSING ME? YOU'RE NOT DOING ANYTHING. >> DON'T pull your arms back. >> I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING. >> Stop doing anything. >> Stop it. >> TWISTING ME. I'M NOT doing anything twisting me. >> Stop it. >> I know. >> The woman clearly had no intention of cooperating, making it extremely difficult for the officers to place her in handcuffs. As a result, they were forced to take her to the ground to gain control OF THE SITUATION. I'M GOING TO DIE. I'M GOING TO DIE. I'M GOING TO DIE. [screaming] I'M GOING TO DIE. >> WILL YOU PLEASE STOP? >> WHY ARE YOU LEAVING ME? >> CUZ YOU'RE HURTING. ATTACKING THE GUY. >> I'M NOT ATTACKING HIM. >> STOP IT. DAMN. >> WHY ARE YOU ANGRY? WHAT is wrong WITH YOU? >> WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? >> Give me your other hand now. >> Okay. >> GIVE ME YOUR HAND. >> STOP. GIVE ME YOUR DANG HAND. >> WHAT? STOP WHAT? WHAT THE ARE YOU DOING? STOP WHAT? STOP WHAT? >> STOP WHAT? >> STOP. >> STOP WHAT? >> STOP WHAT? >> OKAY. STOP RESISTING. STOP IT. RESISTING. >> GIVE US YOUR LEFT hand now. [screaming] >> I'M NOT RESISTING. I'M NOT RESISTING. [screaming] LEAVE ME. I'M NOT RESISTING. I HAVEN'T BEEN THIS WHOLE TIME. PLEASE STOP. >> I'M NOT I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING. PLEASE, WHY ARE YOU HURTING ME? PLEASE, WHY ARE YOU HURTING ME? >> I'M NOT RESISTING. >> WHAT DO YOU think about the officer's response? Do you think it was reasonable in this situation? Don't forget to leave a comment and share your thoughts. As for the woman, she appeared to use the events that followed to portray herself as the victim. >> I didn't get on. >> You're literally hurting me. YOU'RE LITERALLY DOING IT ON PURPOSE. THAT'S WHY YOU GUYS RESISTING. WHY ARE YOU HURTING ME? I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING. WHY ARE YOU HURTING? >> JUST SETTLE DOWN. >> I KNOW. Settle down. Just settle down. It's not hurting. >> HE'S NOT HURTING. YOU'RE sensing up. Stop. >> No, I'm not. He's my fingers. >> STOP. >> OH MY GOD. I'M NOT RESISTING. WHAT AM I DOING THAT'S RESISTING? What am I doing? Thank you. Please. Can you stop? I'm not doing anything. >> Stop. We're not going to stop. >> I know. So why the [ __ ] are you guys HURTING ME? I KNOW. SO WHY ARE YOU HURTING ME? >> NOBODY'S HURTING. >> YES, YOU ARE. YOU'RE A LITTLE TYPER. YOU'RE NOT SEEING. >> What is wrong with you guys? >> No one sees THIS HURTING ME. >> NO ONE SEES HURTING ME >> for what? CUZ I PAID FOR ALL my how stupid you sound the whole season. Have a seat. Slow as >> Have a seat. Seat. >> There we go. >> Please get that off. Hurt me for what reason? Took my car. >> I took a spot. >> All right. What do you got? >> Anybody want to meet? Uh, so she was physically pushing and and like >> she was >> No, no, I know her, but to who? >> An employee in there. >> The officers then returned to the loss prevention office to hear the employees side of the story. It turned out the incident had stemmed from another act of wrongdoing by the woman. >> Able to reimburse her for that >> um aggravated assault. >> Is it a >> or aggravated theft? Yeah, >> depending on Was he were you trying to stop her from stealing merchandise? >> Yeah, I think >> so. So, you saw her scanning at the self checkouts. >> Yeah. >> And then you said that she can scan everything. She said, "Yeah, but I think can I see your receipt?" I asked, you know, angry. So he asked for receipt and then you asked her can I see your receipt and she said she angry and >> then she started hitting you out of nowhere just grabbing you hitting you. >> Yes I am why you hit me. >> Yeah we we'll do aggravated theft and um >> depending on if he wants to do charges for assault we can do assault. If not I'm going to do disorderly conduct then interference. Hey, >> the suspect's family members arrived shortly afterward. Instead of helping deescalate the situation, they showed up with an equally confrontational attitude. >> The baby was right in our house. The baby's sad. Everybody's sad, but everybody just got the only sad. Like, why are you all doing all that to her? >> She's breathing just fine. >> Why she said step back there? >> Shut the [ __ ] up. >> Step back there. >> That's why your hand's bleeding. Cuz you're a [ __ ] She's standing back here. She's not hurting anybody. >> Murdering here. So, as long as she stays right here, you're trying to size her up. She's not a 411 size woman. >> Murderers. >> Hey, this is private property. If you like, you can leave. You guys are >> I don't need to. I'm here for a reason. What are you here for? >> My sister. >> No reason. Correct. >> Cuz y'all are murderers. >> No reason. >> Murderers. >> Can we have your badge number? What's your badge number? I already have everything else on recording and I'm gonna take a picture of that too cuz we're that's this is exactly why we're doing I'm about to do a lawsuit now because of all this. We were trying not to do that because of that. Yeah, exactly. Cuz he's a you ain't going to fight nobody else. You ain't going to fight no man without no badge on my whole family's going through so much cuz y'all >> because of us. Okay. >> Because of us. Okay. Ma'am, please stop blowing her smoke on her face. I mean, that's going to happen. Just like you guys have to say, >> you're literally trying to be a little girl. It's really cute. I had >> the woman was charged with aggravated theft, assault-causing bodily injury, and interference with official acts. No matter how minor the original incident may seem, responding with violence, refusing to cooperate with officers, and resisting arrest will only make the situation far worse. Staying calm and handling the matter through legal channels is always a better choice than allowing emotions to turn a single accusation into multiple criminal charges. >> Made you want to do it today? Like what happened? >> I don't know. running low on cash. >> Yeah, >> remember she had the ground beef on them. >> She never even attempted to turn it to scan. She scanned the ground pork twice. >> On the 9th of January 2025, police received a call from Walmart reporting a woman who had completed her purchase at a selfch checkckout and was heading toward the exit. However, store security noticed suspicious activity during the transaction. Here's what happened when officers arrived at the scene. >> Sits over here. Never attempts to scan him. Rosa, right now you're under arrest for retail theft. Okay, just so you understand that. I got to read you your rights. It's like TV. Okay. >> Am I going to have to go to jail? >> Uh, no. >> Am I going to have to go to the precinct? I mean, I might have to go with you guys. >> It's a possibility. Yeah. >> So, if you watch the next one, she has two receipts. Only one gets scanned. Set to the side. The Kit Kats get scanned, but the more expensive candy at the bottom does not get scanned. >> Rosa, what's going on with this? >> I'm sorry. I you know it this is not the norm for me. >> Yeah. >> I'd never been in trouble for this. >> Well, what what what made you want to do it today? Like what happened? >> I don't know. Running low on cash and I was trying to get groceries and trying to pay for the majority of it. >> Yeah. Let me uh You got the receipt for the actual receipt for this? >> Yes. >> She had it right here. But your copy here, >> can I see that one? passed off. >> Yep. >> To prevent the suspect from overhearing the investigation and coming up with excuses, [music] the officers spoke privately with the loss prevention employee about the specific actions she had taken. >> So, she's if she's doubling up on items. >> Mhm. >> So, like these two tater tots. Did she take something? >> She No, she scanned them both. She knows exactly what she's doing. >> Yeah. >> So, she scanned both of the tater tots, but the ground pork, remember, she had the ground beef on the bottom. >> She never even attempted to turn it to scan it. She scanned the ground book twice. >> No contract. >> Um in there, if you keep watching the potatoes, she sets off to the side. >> Yeah. >> And she never even attempts to scan them. >> So some of these are doubled up. So she paid more. >> Yeah. So the ones with the stars. >> Yeah. >> She had two tater tots. Uh the ground pork, the one with the stars. We are refunding her. >> Oh, so you're doing a refund? >> Yes. Cuz she's she and that in place of the ground beef. >> Okay. >> So we're refunding. We That's why we had to star by it. Those are the ones she did double up. >> And then she uses EVT >> to pay for it. >> Yeah. >> Don't bring it back when I watch the video, but she can't bring them back. >> Okay. I got to get to walking out. I'm not additive. >> Okay. >> The suspect's actions were confirmed to have involved intentionally using cheaper items to fraudulently pay for more expensive merchandise. Moments later, the surveillance footage provided clear evidence of what she had done. So these she has two. Like I said, if you watch the screen, looks for the PC, finds it right here. Scans it once, puts the handheld down to get back. And right here, one gas X gets scanned. The other one doesn't. Scans the Pepto. Scans the one gas X. And no attempt to scan that second gas X. Okay. Rosa, is this just like normal groceries for you? Like home home stuff. Okay. >> Oh, here's a shampoo. So, I'll show you. >> So, >> so right here, this the orange bottle is the cheaper bottle. Scanned it. Scanned it again. As you see, that one never got turned. >> That's a double up, right? >> That's the 20. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> So, we had to refund those. So, >> but you guys got that. You got that right. What you're going to do? >> Yeah. She just needs a receipt. She'll scan it and then >> it'll pop the other double up. Grab that and then you can get them to copy. >> Thank you. >> And then like I said, the chocolate milk she scan one didn't scan the other. The white milk scan one didn't scan the other. >> So there'd be similar item that's cheaper on this. So there always be two items but one would scan and one wouldn't. >> Not in all instances. Um like I said the duct tape. She had two duct tape. Scanned the clear one, didn't scan the darker one at the bottom. Um, the deodorant. Uh, I didn't actually see the deodorant. I seen that was before I started watching her, but it wasn't on the receipt. >> This evidence made it difficult for the suspect to deny the wrongdoing she had committed. The officers then explained what she would likely face as a result of her actions. >> Uh, Rosa, what we're going to do, we're going to go to the station. Okay. Uh, I'm just going to fingerprint you, take a picture. All you're doing is getting a ticket and then you're leaving. Okay. It's just a misdemeanor ticket. You'll get a court date and be okay. >> When do I have to get fired? >> Uh, that'll be determined at the court date. So, nothing crazy. You're not going to go down a counter or anything. You're just going to go station. You have to sit in like a booking area. We'll do all our stuff and get you out of there. >> Our customer paid vendor machine. So, I don't want to run low. >> Where is it? >> They get back in electronic. >> It's not in the car. >> No. >> Okay. like 30 minutes. >> It says it's 1:18. It should be fine. Should be fine. >> Okay. >> Okay, cool. I'm going have you stand up. Okay. I got to put you in handcuffs. You're going to stand up and >> they just walk out. >> No. Okay. [music] Handcuffs. So, turn around. You just leave all that there. We'll take all that with you. >> And then, do I have to come back and take my cars? >> Yeah. I'm going to let you know sometimes with these we tow the vehicle. I'm not doing it. you've been straight up with being honest, but just understand that that that there's a possibility. Okay, this continues. >> She seemed remorseful, as if this was the first time she had ever done something like this. What do you think? Did her actions look more like those of someone experienced rather than a firsttime [music] offender? And if you've ever wondered what it was like to be held at a police station, this was it. >> Call your son and then uh get you in and out of here real quick. >> The cover. >> You might. Yeah, you might have to go more than once. So, you can either plead guilty, take the fine, or plead not guilty, and then you go through the trial and everything. >> I think believe you have to show uh like proof of income, and then if you're under a certain income, they'll assign you a public defender. That's how it goes. Okay. Rosa was charged with retail theft, a misdemeanor, for intentionally underringing merchandise at the Walmart selfch checkckout. Trying to save money through selfch checkckout fraud can end up costing far more when it leads to criminal charges and a court appearance. >> Can I drive here? I can drive down to go to court. >> Unfortunately, no. >> Anytime you don't live in Florida, does it like go in the newspaper and stuff? >> It goes online. >> On the 13th of July 2025, police received a call from a retail store reporting a woman engaged in shoplifting while she was shopping with her family. This was what unfolded when officers arrived at the scene. Oh, hello. >> You should be. >> Hi. >> Hello. How are you? >> Tired. >> Since 2:00 in the morning. >> Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry. All right. So, these are the items that she concealed into her clothes. We watched her select everything and put everything inside that purse. Um, is this her ID? No, she's in my bag. >> Yeah. Um, so they've been really cooperative. I thought that she was a minor at first, hence why the family is in here. Otherwise, they would have stayed out. Um, but yeah, they've been really, really cooperative. >> She's 18. >> Yep. Just turned 18. Yep. >> I'll let you talk to her. Um, my printer's broken, so I've got to write the affidavit. I'm sorry. >> Yeah. >> Trying to find the Dum. >> Yeah. Lake 324, Lake 65, South Carolina deal. The woman standing there appeared to be the primary suspect in the incident, and she was acting unusually cheerful as if nothing serious had happened, which led officers to question whether she had any prior criminal history. >> She ever been in trouble before? >> No. >> No. She almost got kicked out of our house by her stepdad for getting a speeding ticket. Like, >> okay. >> She has. >> Do you all live here in Florida now? >> No, we're visiting my parents. We're supposed to leave tonight. I think I'm meeting my mom for like a early dinner. All right. So, she's 18. This is family. They live in South Carolina. Leaving tonight to go back to South Carolina. >> She just turned 18. >> Mom, correct? >> Yes. All right. So, what what I was just being really dumb. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Everything she asked for, put it in the buggy. Like, we were just trying to get out of my parents house cuz it's 75°. But they're like, "It's freezing in here. Let's go to the store. Get it. Get it. Get it. Get get what you want." >> Okay. So, you can see what I'm in your purse there. >> Yes. >> You can look at my purse. I'm going to I'm going to search you, too. So >> she eventually admitted to her foolish actions, but she did not appear to feel any remorse. And at that point, the officers decided to detain her. >> Turn around. >> Am I getting arrested? >> I have to detain you. >> You have tiny wrists. 324 like I have female detained. All right. Have a seat here. Am I doing this? So, here's the thing. You're not a resident of Florida. So, I can't issue her a notice to appear because you live out of state. So, she has to go to jail for it. >> Can I drive here? I can drive down to go to court. >> Unfortunately, no. There's >> anytime you don't live in Florida, you have to go to jail for the offense because our notice to appear is for like if you were a resident here, it'd be different than if you don't have a criminal history. We can >> appear to Jacksonville. I didn't give you one of those forces. >> Yeah, you have to live. >> Can we use like my grandma's address or anything? I'll drive. >> The young woman seemed to realize the seriousness and showed some remorse, but she was more worried about her reputation, asking to drive herself instead of being handcuffed. Officers then explained to her parents the option of bonding her out. >> Tires. It's going to just be a misdemeanor offense. I think it's a$5 $500 bond. If you use a bonds salesman, you just pay I think the minimum is 100. So, it' be $100. So you could go literally right up there. She post her bond and she'd be right back out. But she is going to have a court date. She's going to have to come back for court. Um the whole deal. So um you know if she was still a juvenile, it would have been honestly the same scenario. >> How long did she stay if I don't come bail her out >> until she bonds? She bonds out or time served 30 days, 45 days. So >> we can't just family stupid. >> She has family here and they want to bomb her out and pick her up. But >> no, they're going to do that for that. They're like heavy church people. >> They're not even >> You're under 21 in the state of Florida. You also cannot be >> That That's not mine. That's my mom's. Okay. It's in your possession. So, I'm just telling you that you can't have that in the state floor till you're 21. Okay? So, it'll go to your mom. But >> her concern for her reputation over her wrongdoing became even clearer when she was placed in the patrol car, showing no visible remorse for her actions. >> Oh my god. I feel so bad. I'm actually going to jail. Oh my god. I've never f so badly in my whole life. Whenever you get your mug shot taken, does it like go in the newspaper and stuff? >> It goes online. >> So, the only reason I did get arrested is just because I'm not a resident of Florida. Well, you can be arrested regardless, but we try to work with people when they have no prior criminal history, you know, you don't have any previous thefts. If you have two previous thefts, then you have to go to jail and spell them. Um, but since you had no priors, if you were a resident here, then I probably just would have gave you a court date when you could have left it. Still considered an arrest, but it's considered a non-escopio, which means we're not actually taking you to jail because you're not a resident. And the reasoning is a lot of people who live out of state, if I give you that notice to appear, we'll report it and let you leave. >> In the end, she was charged with theft. The case shows that a moment of poor judgment and lack of responsibility can quickly escalate into legal consequences, turning a simple mistake into a criminal record. >> I'm not going like the machine the >> How old are you guys? >> I'm 21. >> So, you were responsible for making sure all the items once again? >> Yes. Why were there not items that >> On the 5th of August 2025, police received a report from Walmart about two women caught stealing from the store? The suspects had loaded an entire cart with merchandise and attempted to leave without paying, but they were stopped before getting away. This was what happened after they were taken to the loss prevention office. >> Well, you see over here, >> where do you need to be? >> All right, that'll work. >> Yeah. Um, do either one of you guys have IDs on you? >> Yes. I'm I'm not like the machine the thing. How old are you guys? >> I'm 21. We have I can already tell you that we have no criminal record. >> Just Yeah. One second. All right. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in the court of laws. >> You guys understand? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Both. Okay. Yeah. We're here investigating no retail theft. >> Retail theft? >> Yes. >> What's your name? >> My name is Mia. >> Okay. >> Mia. Why don't you step outside? Shortly afterward, Mia was separated for individual questioning about why so many items in the cart had not been paid for. It seems she already had a story of her own ready to explain everything. >> Who's scanning the items? Who who is scanning? Who is bagging? >> I was scanning. She was bagging cuz we had two different cards. >> So, you were responsible for making sure all the items got scanned. Yes. >> Why would there not be items that Why are there Why would there be items that are in here that are not scanned? I don't know because once again, you can ask a young gentleman that was helping us. Every single time I scanned, it would alert him that it wasn't being scanned and I would rescan it. >> That's because it has it has something on the scanners that can pick up if there's if there's two items going at once. So, were you scanning two or trying to scan two items at once? >> No, I would like sometimes I would pick up like a cereal box and then cereal box under my arm, but I would scan scan. >> No, I'll be I'll be straight with you. We are out here every day pretty much. We This is not the first time we question somebody like you like this. We do this every day. By the time people are not being truthful with us, I don't think you're being truthful with us. Here's our other issue. It's all on camera. So now is your opportunity to tell us what's really going on. >> Like I said once again, I'm a college student. I'm just now getting back into school. I live down here. I'm not trying to mess up anything >> because we have you on video safety items. to your friend. >> Actually, yes, I was. Once again, you can ask a young gentleman right here. He even stood next to me while I was scanning items. You can ask the young gentleman that was at selfch checkout. I was scanning items and I was I'm not trying to steal. I'm not trying First of all, the last thing I want to do is go to jail. I I understand that. Like, you may hear the same story almost every single day, every other day, every week. I understand that. But I'm telling you right now, I was not purposely unscanning, like not scanning items. I was scanning items, giving it to her. I would literally sit there. She remained completely calm and told her story with remarkable composure, as if she had nothing to fear. However, [music] the officers still had to explain the situation she was facing. >> Tying everything up, at very least, there's no shrimp that was bought. There was no ground beef or there was only one of the two ground beefs that were scanned. So when you pass the last point of sale, it's a retail theft that you that you guys committed because you guys were scanning, bagging items together. >> I will pay for things, but if there's anything that's not on the receipt, you can put it back. We don't need >> So produce and goods like that can't go back. The stuff like the shrimp, the beef, all that stuff, especially can't be resold. It's contaminated by it being loose. So that's not something that they can do. >> Okay. So, go pay for it. >> Huh? >> We'll pay for it. >> You mean paying for additional stuff that I wasn't paid for? >> Yes. Anything that wasn't paid for to my knowledge cuz >> that's typically not how we operate. Yep. All right. So, I'm going to have you stand up. We're going to put you hand behind your back. >> Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. We have people out there like, "Okay, first of all, once again, you think that we knew, but I'm telling you right now, we did not know. >> You went past without paying for these items. This is a retail theft. I need you to stand up, put your hands behind your back. All right. >> So, you're going to arrest yourself. So, >> Meanwhile, another officer spoke with the second woman, Nona, who also denied any involvement in the theft and insisted she had done nothing wrong. >> How do you pronounce your first name? >> Nana. >> Nana. So, what's going on? >> I don't know. >> I don't know. Were we scanning all the items, paying for everything or Yeah. Um, >> so when you were scanning, was it one item at a time or were you all >> I mean, so and you were bagging? >> Yeah, the scanning was >> What was the plan to purchase everything? Was it all going to be on the link or or separate? >> Her card or your card? >> Your card. So, what did you guys end up doing? >> Um, we paid I think like 28 or $30 on my car and the rest. >> Have you ever got anything like this before? Ever been stopped before suspected retail theft? Remember which card you used? That one. >> That one. Okay. If you just want to stand up real quick, I'll just check your pockets and everything. Can you face the bench for me? Thank you. >> Okay. Appreciate it. So, are you working anywhere or you go to school? >> Okay. So, you just got hired here? >> Yeah. >> So, you were under the assumption that she was scanning everything and you were just bagging it. She said nothing about >> we're going to steal this stuff or has she ever done that around you before or talk about it? So, we're going to bam you guys from this location. So, I didn't see the full video footage. I'm going to have them ask you some more questions cuz I saw more than than what I saw. you're you guys are being watched the entire time that you're being that you're checking out. So So if I look at the video footage, it's going to show every single time she either scanned it across the top >> or told you to scan took it from her and put it in a bag. >> Mia, Donald and Niona Bird were charged with retail theft after leaving Walmart with more than 70 unpaid items valued at $446.2. surveillance footage, the receipt discrepancies, and the unscanned merchandise provided evidence that the items had not been properly purchased before they passed the final point of sale. Taking merchandise without paying and then denying responsibility only makes the situation worse when evidence clearly exists. A moment of dishonesty can lead to criminal charges, court appearances, and consequences that can affect future opportunities. >> She paid for something starts walking around the store and >> Yeah, she only paid for one shirt. >> No, >> you're nervous. You're like a pro at this. You've done this like five times. >> I'm not stand. >> On the 1st of June 2023, officers received a report from a department store about a woman caught shoplifting. The suspect allegedly concealed multiple items inside her bag before attempting to leave the store. To better understand what happened, let's hear the employees statement from the scene. >> What's up? >> So >> So >> she's So >> no, >> that's it. >> That why we're here. >> Yeah, [laughter] >> say less. All right. >> Matching up with >> But there's the thing though. So she has some stuff >> from other stores. >> No. >> So she So she came first >> from us. She left dropped it off in the car. Came back. >> Okay. >> Yep. >> Okay. >> Hello. >> Hi. >> All these fragrance bottles. >> How much you looking at? >> 972. >> 972. >> Girl 972. and she's taking offense for us. >> I just don't know if I we've made a police report before. >> What happened? [laughter] >> All right, I'm going to go read her and I'll figure it out. >> She could steal the slippers and um the white pants into inside the fitting room. I was there because when she came out the merchandise was gone, but she didn't she wasn't feel sure about it. So, I was like, "Okay, let's just let her be." But that's why she pursuing her bag. Yeah, she put it all in the pink bag. >> The red one. >> Oh, yeah. >> Did she buy something, too? >> Yeah. So, she paid for a couple of things and then >> where the merchandise check and >> she takes that one, puts it in the bag. >> She paid for something, starts walking around the store and >> Yeah, she only pay for one shirt. >> No, >> that's it. about you right now. >> And then she has it and then she can still do it. >> The surveillance footage had already made the evidence crystal clear. Officers then approached the woman, but the most disappointing part was her cheerful admission of guilt. >> So what happened? >> I take away the perfume. I love perfume. >> Mhm. Stupid decision. >> And why? Not the love. I know this man nice. Sometime I buy cuz I miss card. Sometime I buy and sometime I take them. >> Okay. >> So you've done this before? >> Yeah. In this store? >> Yeah. >> That's what Yeah. Just take them and spread them. >> In fact, although she had already admitted to the theft, the stolen items had still not been recovered. She showed no intention of mentioning them until officers specifically asked about them. >> Do you have keys? You care about look? >> Yeah. >> Emergency. >> They have you on video surveillance putting other children's clothes into the car. >> Now they left. Yeah, >> they left. Okay. Whose car is that? >> That was my car. >> That was your auntie's car? >> But what happened with all these other things that you took? >> The shirts, some pants. >> Oh, they left with it. >> They already took that with them. Can they come bring it back? >> Otherwise, what's going to happen is they're going to be accessories after the fact. No, I got that. I paid for that. >> Okay. And what about all these other things? >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. Can they bring that stuff back? >> Can you tell them to come bring it back? >> You have to bring it back. >> Yes. Did you buy it? >> No. >> Otherwise, they're going to catch felony charges. You don't want that. >> Making this harder and harder on yourself. >> We asked you earlier where the keys are. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. On the 19th of March 2024, officers stopped a woman as she attempted to leave the Hooters's parking lot after she was accused of throwing a drink in an employes's face. Here's what happened next. >> Hello. How you doing? >> I'm okay. >> Good. So, obviously you know why I pulled you over, correct? >> For what? >> What? What just occurred in the Hooters? >> I don't know. She pushed me. >> She pushed you? Okay. Give me a sec. Let me get your ID while you while we're at it right here. Thank you. >> 311 from 312. You're eating your food. >> She pushed me and I hit her back. >> What was the reason why she pushed you? >> I don't know. >> You don't know? So, she just randomly just went up to you and pushed you for no reason. >> As I was exiting on the door. There was no words exchanged or anything like that prior to the push. >> I don't remember none of that. >> You don't remember none of that? >> No. >> Okay. All right. Well, we're going to try to figure this out. Okay. >> I figure it out. >> Yeah. So, just don't go nowhere yet right now. >> Shortly afterward, the woman admitted she had done what she was accused [music] of, but instead of taking responsibility, she repeatedly tried to shift the blame onto others. >> Exactly happened. What kind of ears did your grandma have? >> I'm hearing impaired. >> You're hearing impaired? Do you need a hearing aid? >> Huh? She tried to portray herself as the victim and blamed the employee for the incident instead. The officer calmly listened and appeared to go along with her account, encouraging her to continue talking. In doing so, she unknowingly provided a more detailed admission of her own actions. >> So you So you were trying to walk out with a drink you were supposed to walk out, >> right? >> But so she was telling you you couldn't walk out with that, correct? And then she pushed you. How did she push you? With her hands, she elbow. >> Okay. And I threw a drink at her and she swung at me and we was fighting. >> Okay. >> So, she escalated all that. I mean, I'm asking him a question. Are you able to get the ID without getting out of the vehicle? >> Okay, thank you, sir. >> While the woman appeared to believe she had convinced the officer with her version of events, the officer took action based on the evidence gathered. However, the suspect's refusal to cooperate quickly turned the arrest into a chaotic confrontation. >> All right, Miss Johnson, step out of the vehicle for me. >> No. >> Can you please step out of the car for me, please? I'm going to ask you one more time before I pull you out. I already told you because you're going to be placed under arrest battery. Okay. >> Yes, ma'am. Okay. She was accused of getting into a physical altercation with [music] an employee. When the officers arrived, she denied all of the allegations, but her attitude was anything but calm. >> Are you guys okay? Uh, she attacked my bed. She was throwing glasses and everything. >> Okay. >> Okay, ma'am. >> No. No. You will not act like I'm the problem. >> I'm not. I'm not. >> Okay. Call one. I'm done talking. Call one. Call a sergeant first. >> Excuse me. Call a sergeant first. >> The officers decided to split up with one group questioning the woman while the other interviewed [music] the restaurant staff to gather their statements about the incident. >> She hit me so bad. He threw away a lot of stuff inside the restaurant. She put to a lot of customers and the manager here. She don't have money to pay. But he have a little issue because she don't have to. >> She was super nice at first. She got her hour and a half. She got a drink. Then she like met a couple who was sitting in the corner. They got in conversation. She got another round of drink and the guys bought two rounds of shots for her. So she got before at least I don't know here she got two shots. Two drinks. She in her tap was only two of her drinks. One of her uh food her meal. She was acting nicely. >> I witnessed it all. I don't know what happened. >> Okay. >> There was no everything was great. There was no tension nothing. Eventually couples left. She also asked for a check. Start getting abusy. I'm running around. I give her a check. She give me the card. I run the card. Card charge only 10 bucks because there's my system says it's insufficient funds. I bring it back. Said, "Can you please check your card? Maybe some kind of mistake. You know what happens." She's like in. I'm like, "Darling, I'm not working just with you. Please check your card. I'll be with you in a second." I'm coming back. She was giving me cards. I'm running again. Now it's charging 14 bucks and it's still not enough to cover the whole bill. I was like, "Sweetheart, please make sure." And she's like, "You need to slow down." I'm like, "Sweetie, once again, I can't stay with you." She's like, "I need to check my bank. I need a Wi-Fi password." I explained to her how to get our Wi-Fi. Spent a couple of minutes making sure she finally going to get connected. After this, I was like, "Okay, I'm going to go." She's like, "No, you need to stay with me." I'm like, "Once again, I got other customers that are looking right now at us. They waiting for me. I'm going to go back." After this, she started yelling, "I need to come back." I went and escooled her to make sure that she's going to be all right because once again, I got bunch of customers. As soon as he came to her, things escalated. I haven't heard what was happening. And I just see she started yelling at him, throwing stuff at him, throwing glasses, almost hit couple of the customers with the glasses. Like she was throwing stuff around everywhere. >> Back with the suspect, her confrontational attitude continued. However, unlike the employees accounts, she insisted that she was the victim of the incident. >> Look at my hair. Touch my hair. >> What's wrong with my hair? What happened? What happened? >> Touch my hair. >> I see it. I see. >> Touch it. >> Okay. If you're not touching my hair, I'm not talking. >> Can you touch my hair? >> Hang on, man. >> Do you Okay, [ __ ] both of you guys. >> Okay, ma'am. I don't know what happened. He's coming. >> So I told the guys, call the police because she start throw away everything like saw the paper we have in the table. >> I don't know. I feel so >> Yeah. Are you okay? >> Yeah. I'm so like I don't know. So nervous. >> Yeah. It's okay. You know, we're here. >> Yeah. So especially with the customer up front. >> I talked to the GM. He's the owner. >> Okay. And I don't know, she's getting mad because but honestly, it's a lot of glass. You want to see the customer see that lady see a lot of >> customer. >> You don't want to touch your hair. >> No, because you refused to touch the evidence. >> What happened to your hair? >> I specifically asked you to touch my hair. >> Are you touching my hair? >> Nobody's touching your hair. >> Okay. Well, good day. >> Nobody's touching your hair. >> We'll wait for your boss. >> So, we don't even know. >> Can you tell that my hair is wet? >> Can you tell that my hair is wet? Can you see that my hair is wet? This person threw a drink at me first, the employee of the restaurant. He hit me with a glass drink upside my [ __ ] head and I fought him back. >> So, she admitted to her actions and explained why she did them. Meanwhile, witnesses inside the restaurant also confirmed her behavior. >> Trying to calm down with meal. I'm not coming at you, right? So, I am calm. When When did this all start? >> I am calm. It just started a second ago. Why you yelling? Are we yelling at me? >> I'm I'm not yelling. I'm a motivational speaker, so I'm elevating motivational. >> And at the end of the day, I'm going to be clear for your body camera in hopes that it's on. >> So at the like I said, turn towards the be to the title of the restaurant. Do that first. >> Do that first. >> We already did that. Do you have a job? >> So senior patron. You have the I'm not corresponding with you at all in former fashion. No, only your superior. She went feral on him >> like a cat. She almost I mean I'm not kidding. She almost killed that woman with the long brown hair. We were sitting right next to her. I mean that that was like like Trump. It was like right by her head. >> Do you know what vehicle she drove through or >> the Jeep in the front? >> That's hers. >> Yeah, cuz she was going to get in it and I started screaming. She's got >> so the officer has all this. >> Yeah. >> Two kids out front. [laughter] >> The management officer does not want her to come back in. >> While the employees, witnesses, and the available evidence all pointed to the woman as the one who started the incident, she appeared completely unaware of that. Instead, she continued portraying herself as the victim, delivering her claims in what came across as a theatrical, self-pittitying tone. >> Because he was pointing towards the door and then I said, "Hold on, wait, I have enough money. Just give me a second." >> And then next thing you know, a drink is upside. >> Really? >> Yes. >> And you were standing at the time. >> And I was just standing there right by the >> He had already >> Now, did you throw anything at him? >> No. >> You didn't throw anything? >> No. So if I >> Not until he threw something on me. >> So before Okay. But you did throw something after. >> No, >> you didn't throw nothing. >> After the entire incident, I didn't know what to do cuz my anxiety was triggered and I just blacked out at that point. >> You don't remember? Just cuz everything was just a blur after that. >> He hit me with a drink. It went in my eyes. It went in my hair. It's all over my shirt. >> So we don't get hit by this. >> And that's why I kept asking, can you feel my shirt? Just touch my shirt. >> Yeah, I see. Oh, it's so I can see. No, you're touching the side of my shirt. >> I'm not supposed to touch people. You know what I'm saying? >> No, you guys put people in all type of detain. >> No, I would never. >> You detain people. You do everything. Touch my shirt. >> Touch your shirt, man. I'm sorry. >> Because you don't want to do your job. >> Why is that? Why you saying that? I'm >> Because why wouldn't you touch my shirt for evidence? >> Because that's not You don't >> Evidence is important in every case, especially when law enforcement is called. So, I will be activating absolute internal affairs on you not wanting to touch evidence. I'm soaked and I'm wet. >> At this point, the woman realized the situation was not unfolding the way she wanted. She decided to [music] take matters into her own hands by putting on a pair of glasses to appear more credible, then started live streaming on her phone while lecturing the officers [music] with her own interpretation of the law. >> I had to defend myself in order to make it out safely. >> And now these officers are here. I've asked them to touch my shirt. I've asked them to touch my hair. I've asked them to help me prove that I'm soaked because I am drenched in a margarita that I did not drink. >> Go ahead. >> So, as a result of that, >> um, I have complaints across the board at this point and we're going to make this public because, you know, Superwoman don't deserve this. I don't deserve this. You know, you guys know my family. You know who I am. You know what I do and all over me not paying fast enough? This happened again. >> You know, stay over here. >> You know that I stood away. All excuse me. >> No, I'm not going to excuse you. Listen to me. You are detained at this point. And if you do not listen to me, we're going to go in handcuffs. Okay. Step up. That's fine. Come on. Step up, guys. I'm going to be taking a picture and a video of the title of the restaurant. Ma'am, >> and this guy is on his white supremacy shirt. >> You're going to go in handcuffs in a second if you don't stop. >> You can't put me in handcuffs if you wanted to. You know why? [snorts] Well, let me tell you why you can't put me in handcuffs. >> Because I have not done anything wrong. Defending myself is not a crime. No matter how bad your white ass wanted to be. >> Mhm. >> Uhhuh. >> There. Are you done? >> No. No, I'm not. >> Are you done? Me either. That's why we are still recording for the next 15 minutes and then I can start it over. Listen, move your finger. Your job is to move your mother finger because you work for me >> and I don't deserve this. >> I don't deserve you and I don't deserve this. >> Of course, nothing the woman did changed the outcome of the disturbance she had caused earlier. At that point, the officers decided to take action. >> You have not seen the beginning of the video. All right. >> Do you understand what I'm saying? >> And it's not the it's not the truth. What has happened here is not the truth. >> Okay. >> And what he saw is not the truth. >> And I'm telling you to grab the beginning of the video. >> We will. >> And you're not grabbing the beginning of the video. I have the right to defend myself >> in court. Yes, ma'am. >> No. He hit [laughter] me first. >> Oh, you mean out here? >> No. Video something different. It's not true. >> It's not true. >> Do you know that I have managed to get five police officers fired in my career as a result of this poor policing? >> Do you know that? >> You know that. >> Sure. Absolutely. >> I need to go to the hospital. I'm going to the hospital. >> All right. Come on. We'll get you checked out. >> Thank you. I am absolutely so done at this point. And this is Oscar. >> Oscar wa're. >> I spreaded them once. >> I spreaded them multiple times. >> My hair is wet. My bob is wet. My shirt is wet. He hit me with a drink. He should be going to jail. >> All right, I'm going to have >> You guys are so racist, >> ma'am. >> You're racist. You're racist. >> Can you listen to me for a second? cuz I'm not finished and my previous flawed, imperfect record that is also not true has resulted in you guys making this poor decision. >> If you thought the woman's arrest had brought the situation to an end, unfortunately, her arrogance said otherwise. Even inside the patrol car, she continued causing problems and moments later, she ended up face down on the ground. >> This is my son. You're doing this to my kids. GET OUT. DON'T TOUCH ME. DON'T TOUCH ME. OH MY GOD. >> I'm sick of you. >> Everybody, it's good. It's good. >> I'm sick of you right here. >> I hope you try your family side. Your mother, your sisters, your cousins, your children, your parents. >> Ma'am, you just caught another charge. Okay. >> No. >> Yes, you did. >> I didn't catch a charge. >> Yes, you did. >> No, I didn't. I'll beat it. I'll beat it. I didn't do anything. And I've explained that to you guys, but you refuse to hear that I was assaulted first. So, I'm suing John's Creek because of this. >> MARK MY WORD. I'M SUING YOU GUYS INDIVIDUALLY. I'm suing you because I did not start this. I was assaulted. I was assaulted. And they just wanted to save the moment and you fell for it. [snorts] >> How's that look? So, >> there's room in there. >> It's fine right now, but I promise you >> I'm worried about this one. >> Do you understand [laughter] how minor this is and how I'm going to make it to my kids? >> Okay. >> I'm going to make it to my kids. >> All right. Right there. >> I'M GOING TO MAKE IT TO MY KIDS. I'M GOING TO MAKE IT TO MY KIDS. Watch me. >> Watch me make IT TO MY KIDS. AND YOU GUYS HAVE TO ANSWER TO THIS. >> You have to answer to this. You're going to have to [laughter] answer to this. >> Girl, he hit me. twist so we can get it on right side. >> Otherwise, it's going to hurt you. >> I'm not doing anything wrong. >> The woman was charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction of law enforcement officers, terroristic threats, and escape. Refusing to cooperate, ignoring repeated lawful commands, and escalating an already chaotic situation only leads to more serious consequences. Staying calm and allowing officers to complete their investigation gives everyone a fair opportunity to present their side. While disruptive behavior and additional violations often result in extra criminal charges, >> not today. >> I only got a pack of that because they stole from me. >> On the 17th of December 2025, police were dispatched to a store after receiving a report that a woman had stolen multiple packs of cigarettes. She was also believed to have left the scene with a man in a white van. Here's what happened next. >> So, what happened? >> Okay, I have it on the camera back here if you want to come back. >> And she asked for a case of Swisser sweets, which I said I only have a 15 pack. >> Mhm. >> And then she asked for two cards in Newport shorts. Do you want These two are they came in together. >> Okay. >> I don't know if he took anything. >> I believe they were in a short van with no windows. >> What color? >> White. All white. Looks You know how the little work bands? >> Yeah, I think I know who that is. They live off Tree Bridge. Um, the guy driving was a light-skinned black kid, curly hair, and white passenger. Nope. I think they jumped in the side of it. >> Can you just run that back a little bit? >> Yeah. Sorry. >> Based on the information provided by the store, officers located the white van in a nearby area. As soon as the suspect noticed the police, she immediately became alarmed and took off running, triggering a foot pursuit. >> You come here. >> Yes, you. >> Don't do it. >> Come here. >> Hello. >> Cuz you. >> Why? >> 94. >> Why me? Pursuit. Black female green shirt. Not today. >> I cannot breathe. >> Don't move. >> I cannot breathe. >> Don't move. >> Oh my god. >> STOP. RESIST. >> OH MY GOD. >> YOU'RE GOING TO GET IT AGAIN. Please, sir. I can't breathe. Oh my god. I cannot breathe. >> STOP RESISTING. PUT YOUR HAND BEHIND your back. Now, >> you should know that resisting only escalated the situation significantly. [music] And the woman's actions had just proven exactly that. At this point, the officers tried to calm her down and persuade her to cooperate. >> Leave them down. Sit up. All right. >> Don't stand up. Stay right there. I got you. >> What? >> Lean up against the wall. >> Don't stand up. Just lay right here. >> Just stay there. >> Why'd you run? Just moving around. Yeah. Okay. >> What's wrong? >> No, I'm not talking to you. >> This is crazy, bro. >> This is really crazy. >> Oh, don't steal, >> son. >> Don't steal and then you won't and don't run from the cops. >> That simple. Ironically, after everything she had done following her attempt to flee, she acted as though she had no memory of stealing the cigarettes. >> You said what? >> At the tent, they saw her leaving the white van that's always here. >> Who? >> The store clerk that you just stole from. >> I'm serious. >> Yeah. Well, now you're going to jail. Don't steal. Don't run. >> Don't run. He said it's a mis. >> It was until you kicked me. >> I didn't kick you. >> Yes, you did. There's two bags. They're not from here. >> Two matching bags. >> She comes in with the blanket. I can't verify the bag. That's the thing. So, and then the next page is your book. I'm just going to try to pull all this stuff out and maybe shove it right back into it. I guess I can. >> The amount of stolen goods was so large that the police spent a significant amount of time recovering them. Returning to the suspect, she appeared deeply remorseful and her accomplice confessed the purpose behind their actions. >> Try to get some stuff like this video. I'm >> just trying to gather items and then p it off. >> Yeah, cuz we homeless, man. Okay. Have you guys been caught doing this before? >> Yes. >> At Walmart and other locations? Yes. >> When was the last time you guys have done this? Two. Two years ago. >> Two years ago. >> Yeah. Do you have a nationwide ban on Walmart? >> Um I was told I could come here cuz they had to personally banned us. I had talked to security and they said that their Walmarts was separate than the other Walmarts. >> Okay. All right. I'll have to double check on that. But it does that show that you have a nationwide ban on Walmart. Okay. Well, both of us are just her. You have one that has to be served which just got served to you. >> Cuz I if I known that I wouldn't have even came here. But I was told this Walmart was different and they had a band. He I can't I don't know the guy's name. He's real tall. He works here. >> It turned out this was not their first time. Shortly afterward, the total value of the items they had taken was determined. >> [laughter] >> I just start real quick. [snorts] >> You don't have to stand just get both of them sub total is 585. So threshold 300. All right. So that's what we're finding out right now. Right now um from our supervisor on leather what we're going to do. >> All right. >> Is there any way back to I mean I can I can see where you're coming from. >> It should be noted that they had even been trespassed from the store. Yet, they still attempted to enter and commit the illegal act. At this point, [music] it was puzzling to see the woman unable to cope with the pressure of her own actions. So, right now what we're finding out is if one can we issue notices to appear where basically you just go to the police department and um get photographs, [snorts] fingerprints there and release you with the court date or is it something that you'd have to go to to jail and then you would stay there until you saw a judge? I'd say fortunate for you guys if you do go to jail Saturday. >> I can't go. So there's there's court there's holiday court tomorrow because of the holiday and Monday. So at best you can sit there or worse you sit there till tomorrow more tomorrow morning. If you're not there, you want to just uh you want to just put your hands behind your back. >> No, I'm going to get it for you. Okay, just put your back. >> Hey, don't give up, man. Just I mean, we got Okay, $3 won't do this no more. Don't give up on me, man. Please don't give us a wagon. Okay. They won't give them away. >> You guys will get phone calls once you get there. >> I can't call her. So, I'm just going to text her real quick. >> No, once you get there, you'll get phone calls on their their ping. >> I don't believe you. You don't have to. You're allowed, but let this be the bottom, right? >> You got to hit the bottom before you go back up, right? So, let this be the bottom and then everything just got to make better decisions, right? And I get I say that from >> I said >> it's easier said than done. I get that. But we just encourage you to tell us now. Otherwise you if there was anything illegal or something like that and you were to take it into the jail, that's additional. >> The woman and her accomplice were charged with theft and the woman additionally faced a probation violation for her prior offenses. Repeatedly ignoring legal boundaries, even under the guise of necessity, only leads to more serious consequences and legal trouble. >> Get out of the car or you're going to get tased. >> Cedric tip, >> shut bite me. >> I'm not going to bite you. I'm trying to let you from my head. >> On the 24th of October, 2025, officers responded to a call reporting that a victim's phone had been stolen by his ex-girlfriend. Upon arriving at the scene, the victim immediately provided a clearer statement about the situation. >> Which one of y'all called? >> But she came to my house and uh told me that uh cuz they just had left. >> Mhm. >> Okay. She >> Where's your house? >> Right here. >> Okay. This is your house. >> And she pulled after she after they left, it wasn't like 5 minutes at the most. Yeah. >> She come back. I spoke to Marty basically. She comes over, she picks the phone up, she leaves again with it, and she's uh basically saying she's not getting back once it's passcode and everything else to it. So, it's it's pettiness. >> Yeah. We not even together. We got a child together. >> So, I think he finally has made contact with her on the phone. And I know that you said all you wanted is your phone back, right? >> All I wanted my phone. >> Okay. So, here's the deal. >> I just talked to her. She says she's in Thomas. She's coming back to bring you the phone. >> Do you want to wait to see if she ready? >> Not so much. I ain't got no trouble but to wait. >> Okay. Well, I'm asking you cuz like she's saying if we go the route of putting it as a stolen item, putting warrants on it, it doesn't mean you don't get the phone back. Now you got family violent warrants there though going forward. Okay. That that's that's a big thing. >> This was the officer's temporary decision at the time. And they also provided a more detailed explanation of what they were going to do. >> You tell just call 911. and they'll get a hold of us that way. >> The other thing we do is they're they're flip-flopping. >> What what we're trying to reiterate to you though is like if once once it's all said and done and if we go forth and we leave here and we take these warrants, we are not dropping the warrants. If she comes back 3 hours later and says, "Here, baby, here's your phone." That doesn't mean we're going to drop the warrants. The warrant is still going to be out for her arrest and she's still going to go to Spalding County Jail when we find her or when Thommpson goes and picks her up. >> [cough and laughter] >> I don't know, like he was saying if that's really the route you want to go, but if it is, a decision needs to be made. >> I talked to the phone. It sound like you more or less just want your phone back. >> Yeah. >> And we can't force her to do anything like that. However, >> make a phone call. Tell you don't bring the phone or what, brother. You going to have to go with down the road. >> So, what what led us to her taking the phone? Did you witness it all? >> I would. >> Okay. So, you tell me what happened. >> Okay. I seen her in the auto zone cuz she called me earlier and said her brakes were messing up. She was already in the area. >> Yeah. >> So I seen her at the AutoZone. I said, "I'm sitting over here at grandma house. Come over here and chill with." And she was like, "All right, I'm going to come soon when I get done paying for the breaks or whatever." >> Mhm. >> And when she got here, I was like, "Take me to the store." And I got you got cameras at the store. Her dropping me off at the store. >> Mhm. >> But I left my phone. I was in I was sitting in the car with her on the phone with my partner and I was like, "My phone about to die. I'm going to put it on the charge and I'm going to go to the store." >> Yeah. >> That's how she knew my phone was in the house. So when we when I got to the store and she dropped me off, she left. >> Uhhuh. >> But when I came back to see where my phone said on the charger, it was gone. >> Mhm. >> And I was asking her like where my phone at? And they were like, she came and got it. Said that you said give it to her, which I never said. >> Did you see her actually physically take the phone? >> Yeah. Okay, I'll get it to >> Y'all got any more questions for me? >> I did. In this case, even if the woman returned the stolen phone to the victim, she would still be arrested because the victim had already decided to press charges. So, as soon as she showed up, the officers proceeded to stop her. >> You and Miss Michaela, correct? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Go ahead and step up. >> I just gave her his phone. >> It doesn't matter. >> Cedric, call my mama. Call my mama. >> Hey, go ahead. Step it up. >> No, I just get out of the car. >> I just gave him his phone. They told me that I didn't have an active warrant. Cedric. Cedric, >> get out of the car. >> Let me get somebody to call my mama. pregnant. You can call him. Hey, you can call him in a minute. Get out of the car. >> Okay, >> get out of the car or you're going to get tased. >> Cedric tip. Call my mama, bro. They just took me over. I just went to jail FOR A STATE PHONE. CALL MY MAMA. >> Put your hand behind your back. Put your hand behind your back. >> Why is I'm going to jail? You're not telling me. >> I done told you, girl. You knew what it was for. He told me that I wasn't Hey. UH, CEDRIC, CALL MY MAMA. CEDRIC. >> CEDRIC. >> Call my mama. >> Stop. >> What is you tasing me for? What am I going? 48125. I'm crazy. Stop. >> I don't care. I'm not hurting you. You out fool on the side of the road. >> Why would you Why would he send me to jail for this? >> My boy, can you drive my car around there? Put it in the car, please. 40. >> The woman refused to cooperate, causing the situation to become more tense. At that point, she only tried to make excuses, but nothing she said could change the outcome. Take a seat. >> He took my phone and broke it. >> Take a seat. Take a seat. Get in the car. >> I want to see the warrant. I want to see the warrant. >> Get in the car. >> I WANT TO SEE THE WARRANT. >> I want to see the warrant. >> No. I want to see the warrant. Move. Face me. I want to see the warrant. I'm pregnant. Move. >> Get in the car. >> Sir, can I see the warrant? >> Get in the car. Can I see the white? >> Get in the car. >> Get in the >> Hey, DO NOT KICK ME. >> NO, CUZ Y'ALL PUT YOUR HANDS ON ME. Y'ALL CAN'T DO THAT. >> Felony obstruction. >> I don't know. I didn't get a chance. >> No, nobody's going near the car. If you come any further, you'll go to jail for obstruction. I'm not doing this. an impact monitor does have the warrant. >> They told me that I didn't have warrant. Can I please see the war? >> Give me just a second. >> Can I please see the warrant? >> You've kicked me. Your days of speaking are over. >> Can I please? >> Yeah, I'm good. She kicked me, but now she's got a felony. >> Even after arriving at the police station, her behavior did not stop. The difficulties continued and she was even willing to play the racism card. >> You got to get out. >> Stop. >> Don't. I'm not going to touch you. You don't have to do that. Stop. >> You're going to stop banging your head. >> I'm protecting you from hurting yourself further. >> Please just stop. Just let me move. >> No, ma'am. >> Please just stop. This is racism. Stop. Sir, I'm not hurting myself. Just leave me alone. Just stop. I'm not going to hit my head. Just leave me alone. I'm pregnant. Stop. Like, you cannot touch me. Stop. >> I can and I'm going to. Ma'am, sit still. >> No. >> Be still. >> No. Leave me alone. Y'all are being racist. Stop. >> Ma'am, stop. >> Shut bite me. >> I'm not going to bite you. I'm trying to let you from my head. >> Well, now we're going to be uncomfortable cuz you're not going to bite me. >> I'm not going to bite you. Hey, >> y'all may want to spit guard. She's trying to bite. >> Oh my god. You going to make up anything. I'm not going to bite you. Move, bro. >> She's trying to hook herself in the seat belt. Grab that seat belt. Hey, deputy, grab that seat belt, please. Don't let her kick you. She's already kicked her off. >> She's not going to kick her cuz he's black. >> She was charged with theft, [music] battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest. Taking responsibility early can prevent a bad situation from becoming much worse. Refusing to cooperate and lashing out at others often leads to more serious consequences than the original mistake. Can I talk? >> I did. I did it, dude. Got I did it. What I'm saying is >> for the shoplifting today, CVS today. Oh, burglary tools as well. So, yeah. And I'm going to I'm going to make sure that >> on the 20th of December 2025, police approached a man connected to a shoplifting incident at Kohl's. Not only that, he was also suspected of being responsible for several previous thefts. But when officers confronted him, he acted completely shocked. >> You're being charged for all the other instances. my guy. Yeah, 100 times. You're the guy >> for four separate guys. I got you, dude. >> From what? From where? >> We'll talk about when we get back to headquarters. >> From where though? That's why >> I haven't been here for I >> I haven't even been here for my guy. >> I'll show you the camera if you want. >> I haven't been here for that reason. That's what I provided with you today. >> Yes, sir. I'm not talking. >> That's the one that uh here. No problem. You You'll have your day. I'm here for now. Confirmed on that because you were sh. >> You can say whatever that is in the past. You came in with this bag. I'm not leaving your personal property here if it's yours. >> Make sense? >> Yes. >> Is any of this yours? Is any of this yours? >> None of this mine. >> Okay. What about the one that you're not pointing to? >> Which one? >> The one that you distinctly didn't put your foot towards. >> None of this is mine. >> It's yours. >> This bag. This This thing right here. >> That's yours. >> This right here. The I got a receipt for it in my bag. He picked my receipt up. >> But it's yours. >> Yes. >> Okay. Well, pick the receipt up from No problem. >> I got a receipt. >> I see change and everything in there. That's fine. The items found inside the fitting room came from multiple different stores. He stubbornly denied everything, but each denial only raised even more suspicion. >> The sensors that are underneath these Listen, I'm going to give you an opportunity to be a man about it. >> Yes. >> And you have pliers on. I heard my partner. >> Yes. >> Did we cut these? Did we cut these off? >> I swear to you, I didn't. They don't got that here. >> Okay. >> They over had that hair. >> No problem. I'm saying this the jackets. >> Ain't nothing cut off though. There's Santa's right on the bottom. >> And you look at the jackets. No, it's nothing cut off them. That's not mine. Nothing cut off them off them jackets. >> Nothing. There's one right there on the arm. There's one on the arm. Nothing cut off or something. What are we doing? >> I just came I just walked in here. >> I just walked in here. I just talked to that man. asked for the No, nothing is I drove with my brother. My brother dropped me over here. It's a Honda. >> That's not mine. I didn't cut nothing in here. >> You didn't come in a white Kia? >> No. No white. >> I apologize. I'm just >> I swear to you, I didn't put them in a Honda. >> I swear to you, I didn't. >> All right. Come on. Walk them out. Those are the same style jackets as the other. >> Same style. Same tags. >> Yeah. >> Broken off. Put them off. [snorts] >> He's under. >> He was clearly identified as being connected to previous theft incidents. His relentless attempts to act innocent even forced the officers to explain exactly why he had become a suspect, >> which is whether you debated or not, a similar mo to what was done by the suspect prior. I see you stealing jackets in the past and going into a dressing room with three jackets. >> Is it fair to assume he might be doing it again? >> Is it fair to assume that? >> So, let me be clear. >> We are not doing any of this. We were called here for service. >> Absolutely. I understand. >> There was eight bottles. That's all my brother. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 years. >> I don't I don't I know it's so easy. I don't have that on my ch my jacket. >> That's cuz I was with my brother. He was dropping me. I said I got to get a jacket. It's Christmas. That's all. >> Yeah. I haven't seen Old School X in a minute. >> I know that was >> Oh, there's A1. A bops. >> It's only I know that for a fact that was a cuz he just told me that. >> What? >> Old school X, bro. I haven't seen that in a minute. right? No. >> The man even tried to shift the blame onto another man who was with him. In reality, he showed no signs of being able to afford the items himself. And what the officers pointed out afterward only reinforced that fact. >> I just you could you could keep saying whatever you want to say, man. You can keep you can keep uh >> you have no wallet. You have four bucks to your name. You have no credit card. You have nothing on. >> I have my phone. >> He has my phone. >> Okay. He has my phone. Google just did it on if you can see on my receipt 30 minutes ago. >> When's that receipt? >> Today. What time? >> A little bit 20 minutes ago. >> Yeah. Okay. >> What time is it? >> An hour ago. >> Where's the CD? Do I got to have the dog go through the parking lot? Do you have a car here? >> I swear I don't have a car here. >> I don't I don't have a car key. >> Is your brother in the lot >> that I don't know. He just kid walked in here. >> What kind of What kind of car is going on here? >> Did you shut when you behind the green? You don't use? >> No, I do not. >> Don't take it as an insult. I just need to know to go through withdrawal. >> Lift your feet. See the bottom of your feet? I have nothing on. >> All right, we go. We're going about to move in a minute. >> At this point, the officers laid out the charges he was facing. But instead of showing any remorse, he only escalated the situation, making things even more tense for himself. Well, today >> for the shoplifting today, CVS today. Oh, burglary tools as well. So, yeah. And I'm going to I'm going to make sure that I'm going to put it in into the into um in the county for detention. >> Come on. >> Are you serious, bro? >> Come on. >> I told you last time I gave you a huge break. You gave me a crazy huge break. You did. Now, now you're here again doing the same. Stop. Don't say anything. >> Doing the same exact goddamn thing. in the town that I told you don't come do this and I gave you a huge break. Did I not? You gave me So, guess what? Guess what? That's it. There's no breaks. >> I came here. >> There's no breaks. You're done. You go. >> It's going to be on the right side. >> We're good. What numbers are you? >> They're not on. >> They're not on. What? The heels are not in 37. >> Yeah. >> Try to slide your foot in. >> 24. >> Slide it in. >> Slide it in. Push down. >> 21. >> Slide it in, dude. >> You good? >> Come on. >> Even if that is true, I see you guys. I will >> meet up without fuel for the summer. >> Even if you didn't come here today to steal again while I think the last >> I got you on camera >> like a couple days ago. >> In the end, the suspect was charged with multiple counts of shoplifting connected to five separate incidents at Kohl's as well as possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia, burglar tools, and an active outstanding warrant. [music] His repeated thefts, constant denials, and decision to return to the same store despite previous warnings only led to more charges and harsher consequences. Ignoring past mistakes often turns a manageable problem into a much bigger one. >> Hey, how's it going? You want to come you want to come talk to me? >> Yeah. >> What happened to your finger? You okay? Do you need Do you need paramedics to come check you out? Is your finger okay? >> You want You want to come talk to us over here? I guess they said they don't want you here anymore. >> I'm done. >> The suspect operated the water gun despite a hand injury, even putting her mouth on it, posing a blatant biohazard to anyone sprayed. To prevent further risk to the public, the officers wasted no time taking decisive action. >> We're just going to go 95 to the 96. [laughter] >> Now watch right here. >> Come here. >> Just dropped >> here. I don't want you to fall, okay? For your sake. >> There you go. >> Hey, we're just some handcuffs here to detain you. Okay. >> I got it. >> Just relax. >> You're good. >> Listen, just relax, okay? We don't want that falling out, okay? So, we're trying to do this as nicely as possible. Just relax, Melissa. >> It's all good. >> Yep. Just sit her up. >> She's going to be okay. All right. >> Her mental state was visibly unstable, leaving it doubtful whether she even comprehended the gravity of her situation. Unfortunately, her detachment from reality only made it significantly more difficult for the responding officers to manage the escalating crisis safely. You going to stand up? Are you ready? One, two, three. Can you go rap? >> No, I don't have to go wrap. We can just if we can just get her in the car. Okay. She's not like crashing. She just blinked. >> Hey, Melissa, we're trying to do this for you the best way possible. All right. Listen. Listen to me. You're not giving us much of an option, though. You're not giving us much to work with. And I know you can stand cuz when we got here, you were standing on the table. >> Yeah. Good job. >> You want to have a seat? It's my security tag. >> It has stolen. >> I think that's why we're going to have to go on the raft. Unfortunately, >> I say if we could have got in the seated position, I could have got the seat belt on. [laughter] I need you to at least sit up. Okay. Roll over to your side. Can you work with us a little bit? >> I I have to hold you up. We need you to sit up. Can you at least do that for us? For a brief moment, her calm demeanor made it seem as though the encounter would end peacefully. But that was far from the case, as she soon engaged in reckless conduct that only compounded her growing legal troubles. Do you understand why you're in handcuffs right now? >> What am I in? >> Do you know why you're in handcuffs right now? >> Why? >> Do you understand why you're in handcuffs? >> Understand what? >> We're just trying to help you out. >> Okay. >> So, what's going on? >> It is Melissa, right? Come on. Not the boots. I just shine them. >> Hey, you see how calm I'm being right now? >> Just relax. >> Okay, >> just do it. We're getting there, buddy. >> Hey, we tried, Melissa. We tried to have you stand up and do this more dignified, but >> guys being very patient. So, let's [snorts] relax. >> Hey, we're on your side. I don't want you to throw up. >> What? Huh? >> Stop. So gross. >> Oh, what do I mean? >> Did she pop? >> Hey, >> she popping a nose. >> Come on. Come on. >> Alexa or Melissa? >> We're trying to, but you keep moving on. Fueled by a toxic mix of intoxication and rage, the woman's behavior became increasingly volatile and entirely uncontrollable. With all verbal commands completely ignored, the officers were forced to employ physical tactics to safely restrain her. Can you lift your head up real quick? Going to help you out. Okay. So, this way. I'm trying to hold her hands away from you guys. sit her up and then we'll put this on. There we go. Two. Okay, go ahead. Drop the door. >> You guys have like sanitizer wipes. >> My boss is coming right now with all the sanitizing stuff. >> Okay. You >> hold on, S. I think I got a hood in the back. Let me grab it real quick cuz that's not what I'm trying to do today. >> I don't cuz I don't have my bag. Hey, >> yeah. >> In your bag. Do you have one? >> What? At what point do we say we're trying to seek help? But she's >> just got Let's just Okay. >> Are we having fun yet? >> The whole way. >> Her heads up. >> The woman was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance. >> [music] >> Losing control of your actions while intoxicated or in crisis can quickly turn a manageable situation into serious legal trouble. Cooperating with officers and accepting help early can prevent things from escalating. >> Oh, the clothes. The clothes. You tying the bag of clothes. So, >> how are y'all doing? On the 15th of April 2024, officers responded to a Walmart after receiving a report of a theft in progress. A woman was allegedly attempting to carry out a fraudulent return by taking merchandise from inside the store and trying to return it for a refund at the customer service desk. At the time, every one of her actions was clearly captured by the store's surveillance cameras. >> She thinks she is so good. and going to deny it. Deny it. Deny it. >> Deny it till you die. I said this was easy cuz >> No, she had selected them toys. What I said I just said I saw she was fixing the bags and bags all that stuff and toys. >> Did you have anything when she came in the store? >> No, but that's that just the whole cart is fraudulent returns. >> Not a register register. Um talking to you on her th Mhm. Well, she still killed that drink. She paid for the drink. The list said she paid for the drink. She right about register two and three. Well, between four and five. She left the basket. She get another drink. Look like Yeah, she grabbing another drink. Well, I wonder how long this lady will be in there, though. Well, she can't walk out with the pool, so she might as well go put the pool up. Putting [snorts] everything in bags and bags and bags. >> The woman was observed continuing to collect more merchandise without any intention of paying before heading toward Walmart's Garden Center exit. Officers immediately moved in to stop her, and the situation quickly escalated. >> Put the phone down. For what? >> For what? >> I'll do it. >> Oh, come back position. >> You have the right to man on anything you say can. It won't be easy to get you in the court of law. You have the right turn. Turn. You got four ter anytime during investigation. You can stop answering questions while I present. Do you understand your rights? >> Don't throw me down. >> I don't understand your rights. >> I thought you understand your rights away from me. >> No, I I wasn't even leaving the store. What do you >> understand the rights that you just raised? >> Yes. But I wonder why just did that to me. >> I told you guys and you need to put you against them. Oh, what do I do? >> What's in charge? >> The woman continued to act innocent, seemingly unaware that she had been under surveillance the entire time. What do you think about the fact that she was also receiving government benefits while allegedly shoplifting? She admitted that herself as officers attempted to gather information about her. Where's your license? Is it wallet? >> No, it's that's probably the closest thing I have so far right there. >> ID. >> No, I don't have another >> father-in-law. >> Why? Because someone tried to steal beds. Well, you're going to be taking taking a charge for that as well. >> It's all prescribed. >> It's not a prescription bottle, which makes it illegal. >> So, I stole by >> you have to carry you have to carry prescription prescription bottle prescribes you. >> Okay, that's why your not >> Huh? >> What's your name? garage. The way you beat up over me like that was not fair. >> Oh, the way you resisted. >> I did not resist. I was trying to tell you I hadn't even left the store. >> Oh, how you had even left store. I was asking before I to come and please let me try to see if everything you can look and see from [ __ ] on. It was clear that the evidence of the woman's shoplifting could no longer be denied. As for her earlier resistance, the officers explained that her actions could also lead to additional legal consequences. when he when an officer tells you inhale and they pull away that's resistant and at that moment >> but I didn't even realize like I always pull it away all the time >> it doesn't matter if you realize it or not the moment that you start to pull away it makes it look like you're going to run right that's what we think so that's why you got to escort it to the ground >> but like you know on the ground >> yes because at that moment the moment you start to resist at We have to for our safety and yours, we have to get you a hand >> because we don't know what you're going to do. >> Oh, yeah. >> Do you have somebody that's here to pick you up? >> So, there's nobody here right at this noise. No. >> What about the chick that was filming you? What about the chick that was in the SUV right across? >> Darren Ray was charged with theft, prohibited acts, resisting an officer, and a bench warrant. Choosing dishonesty over responsibility can create far greater consequences than the original mistake. Cooperating with law enforcement and respecting legal procedures is always the better path than resisting or trying to avoid accountability. Two times my size, lady. I'm not a fighter. Yeah, I'm going to say that. >> On the 27th of September, 2023, police received an emergency 911 call from a Circle K store about a theft that had occurred. But the situation was far from simple because surveillance footage revealed something far more shocking. Hold on. Go ahead. No. Now I GOT you out. [ __ ] now. Oh my god. According to the report, these women were questioned about their shoplifting and reacted with violent behavior. And even when officers arrived at the scene, the aftermath was still clearly visible. >> It smells like there's alcohol everywhere. This lady trashed my store. She came behind the counter. >> Literally came behind the counter and attacked her. >> Okay. >> And there's it goes on and on throughout the store on our way out. All right. Are you injured anywhere, ma'am? >> Like, >> I don't think so. I have little cuts and scrapes. My glasses are broken. >> Do you need EMS? >> No. >> No. Have you ever seen this person before? >> I'm pretty sure she's come in before. Yeah. Okay. >> The lady trying to steal. >> It's all on camera. >> Let me question. Was she in Was she trying to steal? >> Yes. >> And you confronted her? >> I asked her where are the cans of alcohol that she had cuz I watched her take it out of the door. So she put them in the colot cup that's down here after she threw it at me because they smell like alcohol. It's all over the machine. She poured them in there. >> Yeah. So when I asked her where the cans were, she got all defensive and then was like, "Say alone." And then she threw the cup at me. Sorry. She threw the cup at me. >> Okay. >> And then she came around the corner and >> she hit me. So I hit her back. >> Okay. >> And a customer, a male customer that was trying to buy stuff came around the counter along with her little friend >> and had to pull her off of me. And then I told her to get the out and leave. And she kept running her mouth. She went outside, came back in, went outside, came back in, tried to trace me around the store again, and I kept walking away from her. And she kept calling me a scared. I'm not scared of you. I just don't want to lose my job. Not to mention, I'm 4' 11 and you're like what? 5 6 foot away from me. I'm tiny. I don't want to be beat up by nobody. >> What did you think about the employees response? Was it justified or not? Let's watch as she explained in detail what she was thinking at that moment. >> Same when they were bringing their those cups in. >> Um cuz I had seen her go over there cuz the doors make a ding ding when you open them. So when they opened, I looked over there and I could see her and she had two cans in her hand. Walked over to the Polar Pop area on this side of the counter. >> So then when she came up with her friend, she had two Polar Pop cups but no cans. So I already knew I'm not dumb. I've worked for Circle K for seven years. I know how this works. So I was like, "Where's the cans of alcohol?" And she goes, "Oh, I didn't want them anymore, so I threw them away." And I said, "Well, can you go get them so you can pay for them?" And she goes, "Why don't you go get them?" And was in my face. And then picked up the cup and she was like, "Say I won't like to throw it at me." Which she [ __ ] did. And I was like, "I'm not saying that you won't." I was like, "I just want the cans. You go get them." And she threw it at me. And then she came around the counter and >> yeah, >> chaos. She hit me. I hit her. I might have hit the friend and the poor customer that was there cuz my glasses were off. So feet, fist, everything just >> Okay. When they came back into the store, did they say anything or >> the the friend didn't come back in, but she had come back in and she had went over there, which I'm guessing she was looking for her stuff. Um, she came back over there. I was running her mouth and I told her, I'm sorry for my language. I told her, "Get the out. like just get the out. Go away. And then she came back up to the counter and then started walking this way like she was going to come back over behind the counter. >> The friend? >> No, the girl that. >> So then I stepped over the on the floor to go that way and she called me a scared which you're two times my size lady. >> So these women showed no remorse at all even after the argument ended and one of the suspects even dropped her keys but sent her mother to retrieve them instead. I don't know what happened cuz I was home. So she text me and said she just got in the fight. >> Okay. >> So I'm like okay. >> She said I just got in the fight to the circle cave and the lady think that me and the girl was stealing >> like that. And I'm like she say I might be going to jail. >> Okay. So I was like, "Okay." >> Okay. >> So I don't know what happened inside the store. I don't know if she was in there stealing. I don't know. So >> gotcha. >> I was home. >> I mean, >> if you if you do get a hold of your daughter, her best bet is just come talk to me. All right. He has my case number and go from there. >> Yeah. >> You know, you know what I'm saying? If if if if her side of the story is different to what I was told, then I can write her statement what's going on. But from you just telling me saying that she got into a fight into into the store, I need her side of her story. Okay. >> Okay. >> But like I said, I gave him I provided him my name with the case number so owner of that of that of that key can come to the PD and claim it. >> Okay. She said, "Ma, I don't know if I will be going to jail, >> okay, >> or not, but I just I'm just letting you know that I got into a fight with a lady at Circle K." We know what Circle K, >> okay? >> Cuz she ain't seen the thing. Didn't say. >> So, so called the police. She called somebody. She called the Okay. She called the police on me cuz she said that I was stealing, which we wasn't. We was going to pay for it. Me. The suspects later turned herself in and was taken into custody. Come over here. >> On February 20th, 2023, police received a complaint about a drunken man causing a disturbance in a store. Upon arriving at the scene, a posit they also learned he had used store products without paying. >> Can you come over here and talk to me for a minute? For >> what? >> Cuz I got a complaint. >> How about you walking in here with an open container? >> I did. >> And making and making complaint or making people feel >> I didn't mean nothing. I was just mad because I asked her a question and she act like she couldn't answer my question. >> Okay. All right. Stand up for me. What? >> Where's that open container at? >> It's over here. >> Where's it at? >> It's over there. >> There. Are you serious? You going to drink it right in front of me, man?
