I have really bad. >> Are you kidding me? You cannot put your hands on me. Are you stupid? >> Hey, turn. Are youing stupid? >> These shoplifterss prepared a perfect plan to carry out their theft. But what was the result? They were betrayed by their own accomplice. Forced to fight back to escape the charges, and crime was never something that brought luck. These were the moments when shoplifterss pushed their luck at Walmart. Every moment was recorded, turning each case into a tense, gripping story. We are This is Law. Don't forget to like and subscribe. Start with shoplifterss turning on each other when the plan fell apart. >> Are they coming back or what? >> I'm assuming it'll leave you high and dry. Yeah. >> Yeah. I was had the stuff that we had, you know, purchased. She had the stuff. I don't know what extra that she did. But >> on May 17th, 2025, police received a report about a theft committed by one woman and two men. From surveillance footage, it showed that at first the two men selected items to shop, but later only one man went outside to pay. And afterward, when placing the items into the vehicle, the man handed the receipt to the woman so she could meet the second male suspect to select identical items listed on the receipt and used that receipt to deceive the staff. But they were not fooled. While the woman was taken to the loss prevention office, the two male suspects escaped and shortly after that, police arrived at the scene. The van that she was in also just left. >> Yeah, it was a Feed America van. >> Oh, what? >> It was a Feed America like little man. So, she was with two other people. They both two guys selected the same things. One paid for the items, handed the receipt off to her. She came back in, handed it to the other guy, and then tried to walk out with all this. So, while we had her in here, she called the >> Which way did the van go? >> What? >> Which way did the van go? Feeding America van >> 753 to 739 >> should be a white feed America van that possibly just left that's involved. >> Anyway, >> do you have an ID with you? >> No, I just gave her my name. >> Okay. >> What's your first name? >> A Y E S H. >> A Y E S H. >> Mhm. Middle initial >> M. >> Last name >> Simpson. >> Simpson. >> Mhm. >> All right. So, right now you're being detained for retail theft. Okay. >> I'm getting a ticket. >> What's that? >> Ticket. >> Depends. What kind of criminal history do you have? >> Oh, I don't have one. >> Have you ever been arrested before? >> Uh, long long long time. >> It might have been because she had faced police before. So, she remained completely calm at that moment. And additionally, the staff confirmed that the total value of the merchandise had slightly changed. >> So, are you saying it's over 500 again? >> Cuz these four items that were on the initial receipt were already 440. So, there was these items plus even more. >> They didn't pay for those >> what she walked out with. >> Okay. >> No. So, the cart that she tried to walk out with had this plus more. >> Oh, plus more. Okay. >> Cuz it was like they were going to >> Oh, she's getting that info right now. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I see what you're saying. I see what you're saying. were trying to walk out to show a receipt that was paid for, but >> Okay. >> The first set of things were the seconds that was not. >> All right. So, we're waiting to come for her to come back with >> the actual first. >> Okay. >> All right. Can I just grab your phone and that napkin I'm going to put over here on the table? >> Oh, this the guy call back. >> Hello. >> Yeah, I'm uh in here. They uh saying that um they seen you pay for something and I came in with the receipt. So um yeah, they saying um that they seen you stuff stuff or something in the uh what was that in in the bag or something. So and I was walking out with the cart. >> You guys want to play it? I'm going to come back. >> It was 713. >> H >> 73 >> and Oh, they said the uh price came up to uh $713. >> I don't I don't know. They saying it's over $500 or whatever. >> No, I'm sitting right here in the office. >> Her failure to tell the men to return and resolve the situation only further proved there was no misunderstanding here. Everything was intentional. So, the police temporarily placed the woman in handcuffs. >> Are they coming back or what? I'm assuming they'll leave you high and dry. >> Oh, there it is. All right. Just stand up for me and face the ball and be placed in the right now. Okay. You got anything uh Anna you need to know about? >> No. >> All right. Don't reach for anything. Anything that's going to poke or prick me or anything? >> Uhuh. >> Okay. And this was this cart right here. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Um there's a bag of stuff that was concealed in this. It does not come in there. >> So it was uh >> all that stuff. >> All this fishing. >> All right. Cool. >> Um Mountain Dew down here. These little Mountain Dew little guy. So happy for >> these bowls too. >> Yeah. There's still a >> return still security day. >> If you were thinking those men had escaped successfully, you were wrong because the police were not about to let any suspect slip away very quickly. The suspect vehicle was stopped. >> Hey guys, how are you? >> I'm Officer Clemens, Germantown police. Are Did you guys just come from Walmart? Not. >> How many people? What's that? >> Menards. >> Menards. Okay. Were you at Walmart earlier? >> Yeah. >> You missing a a person? >> Yeah. >> You're not? >> Okay. Was it just you guys? >> You aren't with female or another male or anything? >> No. >> Okay. Um Yeah, cuz they reported the theft and we're out with I think another individual. I think somebody else is still there and they said that this man was involved. So that's why I'm stopping you. Just seeing what's really going on here. You guys aren't necessarily in trouble if somebody's still there, but I need to find out what's really going on. So, cut the >> Did you I mean, you got groceries, it looks like. Did you buy them at Walmart or what? >> No, this the uh >> Salvation Army. You uh do it for church. >> Okay. Yeah, that's fine. But were you guys at Walmart or not? >> No, we sure >> I'll take a look at your ID box. >> His hesitant, faltering words only made everything more suspicious. And little by little, he could no longer keep lying. >> We dropped her off, man. >> Okay. All right. No, no issue. If she's She's the one If she's the one that's stealing, then it's on her. I don't If as long as they say that you guys weren't stealing, I just need to We need to figure out what's going on. >> All right. Just give me a second, guys. Okay. You >> good here? >> Yeah, I think so. Do you want to How do you want to >> I just want I want Price. >> Yeah, I understand. I got an idea. I'll just finish up your The He said that they just dropped the chick off. They denied it at first, but just confirm whether or not they were stealing. All right, Penny. So, I mean, my partner's over there talking to the girl and they watch the camera. Um, you can turn around and face if you want. Um, I'm not here to give you a hard time. All right. I I give people the benefit of the doubt. That's why you're not in cuff. You've been decent with me up until this point. Okay? I just need you to be straight. All right? >> So, we saw the receipt thing where your your buddy bought other stuff, she grabbed a receipt, came back in with you, and you walked out with the stuff. Does that sound right? >> No, that I didn't have nothing to do with that. >> Walmart is literally looking at the video right now >> saying I walked out with the stuff >> with the Well, your the girl had the receipt and brought it back into the store and you had a bunch of stuff with you. >> Yeah, I was had the stuff that we had, you know, purchased. She had the stuff. I don't know what extra that she did, but >> right, >> you know, she had the stuff for the receipt. I don't know whatever extra she did. I don't know. >> How is she related to office? What's her role here? >> Uh, she's just, you know, a friend and, you know, she she's supposed to been, you know, grabbing stuff and, you know, I didn't know that she if she did anything extra. I don't know. >> Does she work with you guys or she's just along for the ride, too? >> Although they were fully aware of what had happened. The men tried to shift the blame onto the female suspect, not realizing that the police already knew everything. >> So, my partner's still reviewing the cameras. Um, you guys were clearly all in cahoots. You guys are passing receipts off, passing carts off. It sounds like you're both concealing some stuff in the bag that she's got there. >> No, she she was with she was I didn't say she wasn't with us. She was with us and she was supposed to be getting getting the stuff, >> right? >> Cuz he's saying that he doesn't know what she was doing. >> She definitely did not conceal it. >> She definitely did not conceal it. >> He was the he she literally got the cart in grocery and was only in grocery with the cart. He was within the fishing sporting with the cart. >> He passed the cart to her in grocery and then she tried walking out of the store with the cart. So he was in fishing with the cart and the items and then passed the cart to her in the grocery aisle. So he he's involved. >> Okay. >> And she came and got the cart. No, cuz she was shopping with us. >> Sure. >> No. And that's why I said anything extra that she did, I don't know. >> Okay. All right. Well, >> I didn't I never told you that. I I wasn't You know, I didn't know. >> You said you didn't know she was doing extra stuff. >> I didn't know that she was doing extra extra stuff. That's what I told you. And I kept it I kept it real with you. >> Yeah. You've been totally decent. So, now I needed to be decent with me. Okay. Right now, I needed I need you to turn around, put your hands behind your back. Okay. Not going to give me a hard time, right? >> The two men entered guilty p to one count of retail theft. and the woman entered guilty pleas to retail theft as a party to a crime, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony bail jumping. A staged receipt and shared lies only made the fallout worse. Deception always leaves a trail, and someone always cracks. Next, the shoplifter was an irresponsible mother. >> Password right here. >> Okay. >> My daughter was putting stuff in the scanning the stuff. The book stood up under under my purse. I forgot to pay for it. That's it. I didn't see it. On the 22nd of October 2024, police were dispatched to Target after receiving a report of a woman who hid three items under her purse and made no attempt to pay. And upon arrival, an employee revealed even more troubling details. >> Good. Hi, how are you? >> Good. How are you? >> Receipt on this side. Just some stuff was tucked under her purse in her car. She just never made an attempt to scan the stuff. These are the items here. Three items. A book, shorts, and a water bottle. We do have prior on her. This is our case. We have about 21 incidents for around $650. We can file on that separately. That's just what we got her for today. That's it. >> Okay. Do we have an on or? >> Yeah, she's saved all the video. She'll send that over to you. >> Perfect. Can I take a look at it now? >> Hey. Okay. Not ready to report. >> Okay. Okay. Do you still have your kids with you or are they >> Yes, I have kids with me. I forgot to pay for that. That was here. That was here. My daughter was taking stuff out of the car. I forgot to pay for that. >> So, even with 21 prior incidents, she still insisted she forgot to pay even after the employee firmly stated it was intentional. Furthermore, the employee had camera evidence to support that claim. >> First thing they stand for. >> That's all good. So, right now, there's a book under this purse and there's a water bottle under that. And the shorts are right here. Okay, they go right on top. I forgot to pay for them. >> They scan the food. Everything else is good. Mouthwash is good. They uh >> bag the water bottle right there. >> That's not scanned yet. I'm giving you the chance to let them know so you can kind of figure stuff out with your kids. >> I forgot to pay for that. >> Well, I I'm I'm not going to sit here and argue with you. It's It's clear as day on video, so I'm not going to argue with it. So, I'm giving you the chance to talk to your kids to figure out a situ So, you can let them know and then we're going to be on our way. >> What's the matter? Uh, it's eight pants, a water bottle, eight pants, a water bottle, and uh, it's like a total like 70 bucks. >> She continued to hide behind excuses about her memory, yet at the same time refused to cooperate with officers, prompting them to finally make their decision regarding her. >> Um, about this process, >> what this is, >> why is she monitor? You guys want to play around? >> No, it's not. I don't want to view. I cannot view. >> I And I and I do apologize, but unfortunately you have to. It's just it is what it is. Um, unfortunately, you committed a crime and and we have to be processed and fingerprinted, photographed, everything. And then you'll be released. >> No, I didn't commit a crime. I forgot to pay for this dash. >> Okay. >> Oh my god. All right. Just turn around for me. Thank you. >> Just don't. >> What's that? >> Oh, don't lift. >> Okay. Okay. In addition, she initially kept her identity hidden and refused to provide any ID, but it turned out she had been carrying it all along. And only at that moment did officers finally uncover it. >> No, I'm not giving anybody your >> All right. So, can you open my wallet? >> Okay. >> My son, my car, key. Do I look this way? >> This you? >> That's me. >> Okay. Sounds perfect. Look at that. Was that hard? What are you trying to hide for? >> I'm not trying to hide the issue in my car. I took it out the other day. >> Okay. Thank you. I got her ID. >> I got her right here. >> I got her ID. >> Yeah. >> City. >> Uh, Kings. I got Kingsburg. Okay. >> Excuse. That's her sp >> or is that is that just a state return? >> That's state return. >> Okay. >> In this case, the woman was formally charged with shoplifting. Accountability, honesty, and cooperation from the start are often the only ways to prevent a bad situation from becoming far worse. Next, meet the rogue Wonder Woman with the guilty rope. Mad mad mad m. On the 9th of September 2023, police received a report of an assault in progress at a grocery store. When they arrived, police were shocked because the scene went far beyond anything they imagined. >> Is she still here? >> Yeah. You can come in there with that fake ass. Don't buy that. Can I have a 101? >> Ma'am, >> they fully recognized she had severe psychological instability. Even her actions grew more insane when police tried to stop her. Lock the door. >> I will smack this. >> All right. All right. M. Give me the rope. M. >> Get the GET ON THE BOAT. >> GET ON THE BOAT. >> GET ON THE BOAT. GET ON THE BOAT. I swear to God. >> Okay. What's wrong? >> The rope around her neck became her own weapon. And with the officer's assistance, she was finally placed in handcuffs. But that did not mean she was going to stop. >> Hear me my whole life. I'm 34 years old. >> Y'all robbed me in Atlanta. I called the police in the projects in East Atlanta. >> I swear. >> Listen. >> No, I'm not. >> Y HOW Y'ALL DOING IT? >> THIS HOW Y'ALL doing it? >> Just relax. In the end, she faced charges including assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest, making criminal threats, and theft related offenses. No matter how intense emotions become, violence and threats only make the situation worse and lead to serious consequences. Losing control in a critical moment can turn a bad situation into a lifealtering one. Next, another suspect believed the fault lay with her PTSD, not with herself. >> Grab it. I have the receipt. I just want to grab it, but I have the receipt. I paid for it. Me? I just I've been in trouble for freaked and I don't know why. I have really bad PTSD. >> On October 9, police approached a woman at a fast food restaurant on suspicion that she had shoplifted at a nearby retail store. Her stammering, fearful tone only made everything more suspicious. >> What's going on today? >> I I I just got I just the stuff I paid I picked up my daughter's order and I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. Like I picked up like I I I hear me. I'll call my daughter. >> Hold on. Don't call your daughter. Show me what it is. She He She put me the pickup person. I'll call right now. >> Hey, go make please. >> I'm sorry. Okay, let me calm down. Let me calm down. >> Trespass from there. >> I said it was good after a year. No, >> no, I swear. >> I have to pull it off. >> I swear to God, I said it was good for a year on my kids life. I swear. >> Hey, can you show me what the medicine was? >> It's okay. >> Go stand at the back of the car. Let's talk over here. Yes. Hey Sarah, can you send me Can you send me the copy of the receiving email? All right, send it to my phone right now. All right, let me >> What's in there? >> Yeah, let me see. >> While checking her bag, the officer also looked into the issue based on her account. It seemed that the more it was examined, the more tangled it became. >> I don't see any medicine in here. What are you talking about? >> I don't have any medicine. >> You Okay, so you went there to get her medicine. >> No, I went there to get her oil stuff. I have the receipt for this stuff. I didn't get in my car and I just >> Do you have the stuff? >> No, I don't have anything. No, I have nothing. >> So, what are you talking about? You got this stuff. >> I got I paid for my >> Take a deep breath. Hold on. >> I paid for instance at the counter. >> You paid for what? >> My instant syringes. I have the receipt somewhere. I was I never got I call it I just grabbed it and I showed I have the receipt for it. I did pay for >> Oh, you got to slow down. You talk too fast. I can't hear you. >> So, you saying you have the receipt? You said you got insulin needles >> that you you paid for them in there at the pharmacy counter. >> Please move pay for those. I had to go pick up for the oil and the I think filters. I don't even know what it was. I honestly didn't even look. My daughter had me picking up the other stuff. I left my stuff there before and I just went and grabbed it and I had the receipt. I just went and grabbed it, but I had the receipt. I paid for it. >> Okay. What other stuff? You got to talk to me. >> It was just It was just the eye stuff. >> The The eye stuff. >> The doggy stuff and I left >> and the doggy stuff. >> I called home and I have the receipt. I paid for it. >> What receipt are we talking about? >> Are you joking? >> Yeah, children. >> In addition, her story did not end there. The woman claimed that she had purchased the items there, but why did she not take those items with her? >> Did you leave the store without paying for something? >> No, I I left everything there. I didn't go >> Okay. Where'd you put it down at? >> Right at the store. I left it at the door. >> You left it at the door? >> I left it there. But I did pay for it before. I just didn't get I left it on. Okay. >> I left some shipping. >> Everything got left at the store. You don't have anything on you right now. >> Ma'am, no. Nothing. Should I pay for my daughter's oil? Everything's over there. Okay. >> So, if you left it at the store, then that's not a crime. >> Did you drop it when they called your name and told you to stop? >> She's like, she's scared of me. I just I've been in trouble for her before and freaked. And I don't know why. I have really bad PTSD. >> Okay. But you were already out of the store when they tried to stop you. >> No, I'm still in the store. >> You're still in the store when she tried to stop you? >> Okay. All right. >> Can you hang out with her for a second? >> Okay. I really need to know whether they're just >> to gather additional details. The officer returned to the store and collected statements from the employees and they told a very different version of events. >> Garden center of course was not. And then I turned and I looked up and all I see was my short red hair and I was like, "Okay, I know who this is." And I was like, "Ooh." I was like, "Oh my god, maybe not." Fine. I was like, so I ran over this way and I hit behind the aisle. I called the sheriff's department said, "Hey, look, I got in here trespass." I said, "She going to go fast so we can hurry up." I said, "She's in our store right now." Well, where is she? We're talking blah blah blah blah blah. And then I'm still on the phone with them. She's walking just going really fast now like a lot of items. She's going down like the pharmacy is. She >> Does she have a cart? >> She did have a cart >> and she's throwing stuff in the cart. >> She threw vitamins in there. There was more oil and stuff in there, a filter in there. The dog looked like they're bones. She came over there went to pharmacy. She got picked up I want to say needles in needles or something from the pharmacy. Put them in the bag. Um, she might have bought them here. I'm not sure. But then she was coming this way and I was like I was like she was like she's going out the door. >> So you watched her put the vitamins in the bag attempt to conceal. >> Yeah. So she went this way and she didn't put the bones in the bag. She just left them in there with the big bag of dog food and everything else. I was like, "Okay." So then she went up this way from the pharmacy and she started heading out to the money with all her desk protection. She bought some paid merchandise. >> Uhhuh. What do you What up merchandise? Um I just uh I was like, "Bam." I was like, "Come on." I said, "I'm going to go over here." >> And she's like, "Oh, but she ran." >> So, you were outside on the right. >> You were in here. >> They also revealed she was a familiar face. 36-year-old Nenah repeatedly in trouble before. So, every detail strengthened the case against her. Yet, she was the only one who failed to see it. >> The door when I was like, I I was like, "This is stuff that was old. I showed every like I wasn't trying to hide arrives. Everyone went around." >> You said the stuff was old. What do you mean? What's up? >> There was the dog and then my eyes stuffed and um the little treats and the stuff from the other day um that I left in the car. But I but I told the guy I did tell him was like stuff and I'm scared like I'm sorry I'm freaking out. Like I'm for real. >> Take take a breath though. Okay. >> I paid for everything. So it was all like I said. >> Where's the receipt for the rest of it? >> I have it. >> You have it with you? >> Okay. When she comes back out, we'll let Did you already let her know? The other deputy. Okay. >> But I don't think I'm saying anything. I I the guy at the door, the guy stopped. He scanned my receipts. I said this from the other day. These are the stuff that I got that I left here. >> I wasn't like hiding. >> Why? Why'd you run? >> Because Because I knew that I didn't go to the customer service. I knew I did it wrong, but I paid for it. I don't know. I'm a idiot. >> Just do me a [music] favor. Nina, look at me. Do me a favor. Take a breath. Okay. You don't need to have a panic attack for for something that may not be nothing. Okay. >> I did. I really didn't do it. >> Well, that's why she's here. She's got to go talk to them. I'm She's the This is her zone. This is her call. I'm just here trying to help out. Okay. So, she's got to go in. >> I didn't freak out like this. We did something. >> Finally, the woman was convicted of petty theft and trespass. She was sentenced to 180 days in jail for theft and 16 days for trespassing with credit for time already served. Her repeated lies and prior trespass only strengthened the case against her, ultimately leading to her conviction and jail sentence. Before we get to the next shoplifter, let's take a look at this chaos. >> Your hands on me. >> I can't. >> No, you cannot. >> Okay, >> are you kidding me? >> Hey, turn. >> Are youing stupid? I don't give a >> On June 30th, 2024, police were called to a store at a gas station after a woman caused a disturbance there. When officers arrived at the scene, the woman clearly displayed unstable and erratic behavior. >> Okay. I'm pretty sure it's about time to change it. >> I'm not getting into that. Okay. >> Every incident had its cause and shortly after the woman revealed the reason behind her behavior that day. >> So, what started the issue? >> The issue is that I drank two cups of wine. Two cups of wine. Okay. Then where was this? At your dad's house. >> Well, today when I was over there, my my boyfriend. >> So, today you were in Jasmine before the [clears throat] >> balloons and my older sister. I've never thought that I'm like a bad person. Women tell me first. And it it just gets to me that oh, she can drink. She could get to my parents house, have two or three um cups of wine, drink it. Losing control for a few minutes can cost far more than the argument that triggered it. On June 30th, 2021, officers received a report of a woman concealing merchandise inside a store at Universal Studios Orlando. How old are you? >> You're 17. You have identification. >> Just Just >> Where's your dad? >> Right there. >> No, call him. Now, where's your mom? You probably would have been out of here like 20 minutes ago. >> Yeah. >> Where are you from? >> Where are you from? All right, that's great. All right, I'm done. She didn't even >> You obviously don't understand what you're doing. >> Mommy, please calm. Hurry. >> Okay. >> This young woman clearly had no intention of cooperating. It forced the officers to speak bluntly in an attempt to get through to her. >> What did I tell you? >> What did I tell you? >> Stop the yelling. >> Yo, she was >> Don't talk about freedoms after you got shot. That's the only thing that's going to help your situation out. So, I would advise you to make a deep breath and stop talking until you're asked the questions. >> We're going to get your mother. >> Is there anything we can get present? Is you're a minor and she's going to verify who you are and then open that. Anything in this bag paid for? >> No. Is anything in this bag paid for? What? That's it. Hey, this isn't food. This is a toy. We already talked about being honest, right? No, you cannot have those taken off >> because they're still conducting an investigation. >> The lies were delivered in desperation as the officers had already known almost everything. Although the woman did nothing, that very refusal to cooperate only made the officer's process more difficult. >> Let me see how tight they are cuz I they're probably underneath your shirt. That's why. Stand up. Turn around. Stand up. Turn around. >> Have a seat. >> Take this off. How does this come off? Take this off. >> Take this off. >> Let go of it. >> Let go of it. >> What? What? Have you not learned anything yet? >> Holy cow, girl. >> Listen, like I said, if you didn't run and have everyone chasing you around the park here, you would probably been out of here like >> The lies were delivered in desperation as the officers had already known almost everything. Although the woman did nothing, that very refusal to cooperate only made the officer's process more difficult. >> Stay wild. >> That's not what his question was. Listen to what he's saying. You're 17. >> Where do you live at? Your mom was going to tell us anyway. Why can't you just tell him? You're more than likely end yourself up in jail. >> All I'm asking is a simple question. Where do you live at? >> California. >> You live in Texas. Okay. >> You're not a juvenile. Now you're lying. >> You're not even a juvenile. Oh, you're amazing, girl. >> What's that? >> She's not even a juvenile. I heard him say >> she's not She's not a juvenile. She's 20 years old. >> All right. >> So, >> well, >> that's that's not good. >> You just made that. You turn this into a piece of paper into a whole lot more. You are an adult. This is not baby time. You're not a juvenile. You are an adult and you have to take responsibility for your actions. And now you have to tell us where you live. Tell us your real name or it's going to get worse. You are an adult. You're an adult and they're pressing charges. >> The young woman did not seem ashamed at all. Her behavior made it feel as if this was far from her first time. Even worse, her parents immediately tried to find a way to cover for her. >> That's That's not good. >> You just made that you turn this into a piece of paper into a whole lot more. You are an adult. This is not baby time. You're not a juvenile. You are an adult and you have to take responsibility for your actions. And now you have to tell us where you live. Tell us your real name or it's going to get worse. You are an adult. You're an adult and they're pressing charges. [music] >> You don't have her ID? >> I don't, sir. I only have my weird here for vacation. >> Can I just pay for everything, sir? >> No, she's going to go to jail. >> Can Can I pay for everything, sir? I don't know why it was so easy for her. She should have asked me. >> She should have. And then she should have also ran out and ran away from the loss prevention officers. It's just she got scared. I don't know. >> Well, and then she lied that she was a juvenile, too. So, she she went and turned this into a big thing when it wasn't going to be a big thing. >> So, what can I do, please? >> Uh, we're going to give you information where you can bond her out of jail. >> Can we please? >> You can just wait over there. >> Can I just please? >> You can't talk to her. She's an adult. >> Please, sir. Can I >> You got You just wait on the bench and they'll give you the information where she's going and everything and the phone number. >> Can I pay for anything? >> No, they're not going to let you pay for everything. No, dude. You're going to jail. That's it. You're going to jail. That's the end. >> Go this way. >> Ultimately, she was prohibited from coming back to Universal Studios after stealing merchandise valued at over $200. She later agreed to take part in a theft prevention class through a pre-trial diversion program so that the charges against her could be dismissed. Lying to avoid consequences only made everything worse. Taking responsibility early could have prevented the situation from escalating and turning a minor mistake into a serious legal problem. Upon arriving at the scene, officers approached the suspect while she was completely unaware that she had been detected. >> Hello, ma'am. >> Hello. >> Hi. We need to talk to you for a minute. >> Okay. >> I'll hang on to this. Okay. >> All right. Can we go over here real quick? >> Yeah. Your friend asked you to bring her over here or >> Yeah, cuz her car needs to be um repaired for the brakes and something underneath the bottom. >> Oh, I don't know. >> You don't know what she's doing in there? >> No. Okay. >> Um at this point, you're not free to leave. Okay. And we are going to be asking you questions that are uh incriminating in nature or could be incriminating in nature. So, I'm going to read your Miranda warning. >> What happened? She didn't try to stick the plate that way. >> What happened? >> You didn't try to stick the plate up. Not like that. >> Yeah, it's not that cuz this would have been totally different if we had, you know, but >> I see you guys are like two cars, three cars. I seem like another car. >> Four. Well, because mine is over there. >> With these rights in mind, are you willing to talk to us? >> Yeah. >> All right, perfect. Like I said, I don't have any questions right this second, but um except for some I guess preliminary stuff, but um what are you uh what are you doing today? >> Um I was just trying to cash a bond that I received. >> A bond that you received? Okay. Where'd you get the bond from? >> Um I actually got it from my cousin. >> Yeah. I don't know the whole story, so that's why they're trying to figure out, you know, how >> And do you know where she got the bond from? >> Um no, I don't. Okay. Um, I know that it was from my grandmother who passed away and she just gave it to me and told me that I couldn't do it. >> Just as previously reported, these individuals attempted to come here to cash their bond, but the document turned out to be problematic. >> Same thing, Ar same checks. >> Yeah, they look like they're printing them off a printer thing, but what's getting them caught up is this. You got a check dated for 92 and you were born in 96. >> Um, and are you going to families or are you coming from family? >> So, um, I well I was home and then I was going to my and I was actually on my way back home >> cuz she hit Daytona, Orange Beach, a couple of other stores and they all denied her and she came here. Yeah, >> so right now I don't know. I just read you those reds, you know, so I can ask specific questions. Okay. Um, for now, I don't see why we can't let you go unless they, you know, have a different story to tell or what else. So, we just got, you know, call saying that she wrote was in this part. So, that's why, you know, you're not freedom. It's up to you. Whatever. >> No, it's not for me >> because what is this? >> The female driver appeared completely tense in response to what the officer presented, causing police to question whether she knew anything about what was going on. >> Who's the person driving? And uh >> that's baby. >> Baby. Whose baby do you >> She's my friend. >> Your friend. Okay, I got you. Um was she with you all day or how did you baby her baby? >> Um she picked me up from my home. from your house. Okay. So, she went to your family and everything. >> Okay, I got you. All righty. The >> Lana. >> Uhhuh. >> Lana. >> Lana. Yes. I explained to her why we're here. I don't know if officer do explained it to you. >> Yeah. So, we're working a fraud. So, we're trying to make sure either prove that a fraud did occur or did not occur or at least, you know, find the probable cost. >> What though? >> Uh, what she was trying to cash. So, um, >> was it a check? >> Huh? >> A check. >> It >> I don't think it was a check. >> What do you think it was? >> She said it was from her great grandma or something. >> From her great grandma? >> Yeah. Okay. I got >> her mom gave them all. >> Okay. Did you say where she got it from? Like specifically? >> No. The original plans for for me to go get a outfit cuz today is my 30th birthday. >> A happy birthday. >> Thank you. >> The female driver also presented a story similar to the other woman, suggesting this may have been prior collusion. At this point, police confronted the suspect directly in an attempt to extract the truth. >> Case that we worked this our shipped in particular with these pretty much exact same checks. Um, >> it's an ongoing investigation and then people just keep coming to the same TD Bank with these same checks and they just keep getting arrested. >> Okay. >> I've never been in trouble. >> I understand. Um, there's a first time for everything. Okay. So, it's time for you to be very honest about where the check came from and who gave it to you, where'd you get it, stuff like that, because you're looking at some pretty serious charges right now. You know that it's not real, right? >> No, I did not know it was real. >> You didn't know that it was real? >> I promise you. >> Okay. So, who gave it to you? >> Her outside. >> Yeah. >> What' she tell you to do with it? >> She told you to cash it. >> Okay. How did you guys end up linking up today? Like, what was her birthday? >> It's her birthday today. So, >> today's her birthday. Okay. It's her birthday. So she was like, "Hey, do you want to hang out?" She was like, "Um," she was like, "I have this thing where you can move to." And I was like, "Yes, is it like being?" And she was like, "Yeah, like it's perfectly fine." >> Just like when you have counterfeit money, you can feel the difference in the paper. >> Okay. >> I'm going to show my son. >> Okay. >> When we ask her, when we take her and put her in handcuffs right now, >> what is she going to tell us happened? Is she going to tell us you knew it was fake or is she going to tell us? >> She I don't think she's going to tell you she knew it was fake. >> She's going to have some reason why her your name is on it. >> She used the number >> cuz right now she's saying she has no idea where it came from and that this was all your ID. I'll be honest with you. That's what she's saying. >> It's not my ID. I've never done anything like this. I don't I don't do >> understand. I got you. The suspect then confirmed that the driver was involved in the incident and officers immediately began questioning her about the matter. >> Where there was some personal information being exchanged to put on these checks so that they could be cashed something along the lines of it's legit blah blah blah. >> So >> from me or from her boyfriend? >> She is saying that they came from you. >> Her boyfriend. >> Okay. Why would she tell us it was you? Maybe because she's >> Well, it's her boyfriend. She's been on the phone literally all day with her boyfriend. >> I got you. >> So, if you look at her call logs, she's been on the phone all day with her boyfriend. >> I got you. >> I'm just telling I'm just wanted to ask you because that's what she's telling us. She's telling us that she didn't know they were fake. That she cashed them because you told her to. >> So, what about her grandma giving them? I'll try to figure that out myself because apparently that's all a lie. >> No, I just think she's trying to cover up for her boyfriend. >> I mean, she she is providing incriminating information about herself, >> right? And implicating you by saying you gave him? >> No. >> She So, you did not give her these checks. You don't know anything about these checks? her her I know her boyfriend does that type of stuff, but she told me that that was from her grandma that she was going to come with me for my birthday. >> I got you. >> Okay. Um >> I think her boyfriend >> and I've never met him yet. Like I've seen him on FaceTime but she has earphones in. So that's how she was communicating with him all day. Serge, what was that email again that she gave you? >> The story then introduced another suspicious man. But when police asked her to contact him to support her statement, she immediately changed the subject. >> I don't want to go to jail. >> I understand. >> I cannot go to jail. >> I understand. >> Like seriously, I cannot go to jail. >> I understand. >> My daughter is going to be devastated. >> I understand. Listen, like my sergeant has explained to you at when I initially >> I know how this plays out. They're going to come back and they're going to put my hand behind my back and I'm going to go to jail. I don't know that. I don't know that for a fact because here's here's >> I know you guys ran my name. I'm on probation. I know you guys know that. >> What are you on probation for? >> Um from 2019. I have 156 days left. >> Okay. >> She told us her email was this. So I want to see something here once you're done on the phone. >> So she confirmed that her email is just an email. >> Mhm. >> That's not it's not enough to put her behind it. >> We need to see more from this email. Oh, >> I cannot go to jail. >> I got you. So, >> I cannot go to jail, >> right? That's what we're trying to figure out. >> She's a Look, whatever she said about me, that's cool. But she's a good girl and it's the boyfriend. I that that I know for sure. >> Do you have any information about this boyfriend that we'd be able to >> I just know that it's like Gucci or something, but I don't know no real name. I don't know him. >> I need proof that that came from that email. Like a >> No, not that one. The Yummylicious. cuz she's denying the little baby. >> You don't follow him on social media? You've never met him before? Nothing like that. >> Do you know anybody that besides her that's associated with Gucci? >> Anywhere that could lead us down a breadcrumb trail to >> who is Gucci? >> Gucci's calling you. Okay. >> What What's is is it from a phone number or how's he calling you? >> Through telegram. >> Through telegram. Okay. It says so Gucci. >> So Gucci. Gotcha. >> Okay. You want to answer and see what he says? >> I'm scared. >> While the female driver continued to insist on her innocence, the woman inside confessed to everything. And that was the moment police knew exactly what they had to do next. >> Oh snap. Can you go back to it? It's >> Yeah. >> Oh, she must have deleted it. Did she have her phone? >> Well, it's on my body, but >> I don't know. >> Yep. She on her phone right now. If she deletes it, it goes off of your phone, too. >> The fair name back. She probably delete everything. Can't get rid of our messages. I know that for a fact. >> All right. This is ours. >> Yeah, that's ours. You're going to jail. >> You're deleting things. >> No, I'm not deleting anything. Joe, >> I just saw everything I need to sell. >> But I didn't delete anything. I was sitting here googling the boy's name. >> I understand. We'll look at that and we're going to try to uh figure that out. But I saw everything I need to see on tele. >> She deleted it as we're reading the group chat. Everything wipes off. >> Did you not see when he was calling me on inst? >> I saw, but based on the information he's saying, I'm telling you from >> Could you all tell us the truth? So I don't I have no sympathy for us. >> Based on the script, both women were charged with uttering a forged instrument in check fraud. The driver already on probation was taken into custody without bond. While the investigation continued to identify the male suspect believed to be the mastermind behind the scheme, lying and trying to shift blame only made the situation worse. Taking responsibility early and avoiding illegal shortcuts could have prevented serious consequences. >> That's fine. I'll never come back. I swear. >> Yeah. And it's not just here. It's like >> I only left the office one time. I'll never come back. I swear. >> Okay. You might have to go see a judge then. Okay. >> So listen. >> On October 23rd, 2025, police received a report from Walmart about a woman suspected of shoplifting. Here's what happened when officers arrived at the scene. >> You want to talk to her first? You want to talk to me first? >> Doesn't matter. I mean, >> so I came across her. I noticed that she was kind of all over the place over in apparel. So, I started to watch her. Um, and then I got her over into shoes where I seen her like she had merchandise in her purse. Then she went over into um one of the shoe or one of the aisles where the purses and stuff like that is and the headbands and stuff. >> I'll tell you everything I did stuff by. >> So, just the jewelry was hanging. >> No, no, no. We got the rest of the stuff. They're still trying to get the >> They're trying to get They're trying to get barcodes for everything right now so they can do receipt. >> All right. Um >> um yeah, I guess I'll just talk to you then. Uh let me >> You're doing that. I'm going to go out there and see if I can help with that done because it's taking them forever. >> Okay, perfect. Since we're back here and such, I'll read you your rights. >> I'm getting arrested. >> I don't know. We have to talk to them. But for right now, you are being such. So, you have the right to violent anything you say can be against you in the court of law. You have the right to have an attorney and have present while you're being questioned. You can decide at any time to exercise your rights. >> I know, but I do. And I'm really messing me up. >> Sorry. [laughter] You don't present any time if you would like before you answer any questions. Um, you can decide anytime you not talk. >> The woman appeared completely unreorseful and there was a reason for her attitude. According to her statement, she did not consider her actions to be stealing. >> So, yeah. What What happened? >> Been honest. Okay. So, I've been going through some stuff. I got all my clothes going. I literally just left court. You know what I'm going through. I'm sure he ran my name. I cannot get in any more trouble. I do not steal. The one time I was, "Oh, I'm going to take a few trips from Walmart cuz I have no clothes to get bought." I took three tank tops, a necklace, some face stuff, and a lip gloss. >> Okay. How did you take it? Like, you have a cart? >> No, I stuck in my purse. >> Your purse? >> I'm see I gave it all back. >> Okay. Did you take the tags off things and such? Okay. >> But I gave it all back. I even told him where the tags were. >> Okay. >> 62 status. >> 104%. Where are you living at? It's like >> Let me off this one time. I'll never come back. I swear. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, come with me. Grab your stuff. Yep. >> She completely downplayed the situation she was in. And even with her previous experience of being arrested, she seems surprisingly optimistic about the next steps with officers. >> And then I'll bring you back here. Did you drive here or what? >> No, my friends picked me up. >> Okay. Can they just pick you up at the station? >> You can't just drive me a ticket. >> I You have We have to do fingerprints and stuff. It's a class A. >> Last time I got arrested, they didn't do my fingerprints. >> Mhm. What's our drill? >> It's a couple months. >> Okay. Well, yeah. Our fingerprint machine went down, so it makes sense. Um, yeah. So, I'll take your purse. I'll put it up front with me. Uh, you don't have anything on it, do you? >> No, I don't. I promise. >> Okay. Let's start your phone right now. >> Can I message somebody and tell them? Yep. I'm going to have Wi-Fi. >> Yep. Tell them to just come down to the station. It won't be long.
