So she used like $10 short ticket right she doesn't have a sister. >> Hi. >> Hey. >> Hey. We got to talk to you. >> No you don't. >> The suspect in the pink shirt was Kenya 42 who was caught intentionally altering prices at the selfch checkckout. When loss prevention confronted her. This is what paid for. I just >> Okay. So, what's the misunderstanding? >> Cuz he said I under wrong, but they can't find these shorts. Like I told them, I'm going to pay for everything. She's saying I mean she's she has like the actual other ticket in her hand and she's like putting it in front of the thing, scanning it. This is Slater. >> Police compared the two receipts with the store employee and noticed irregularities, but Kenya knew how to explain them convincingly. >> Purchases or did you do a return? >> No, we just got done shopping. I spent $500 and something dollars in this. >> Okay. What? >> Well, it sounds like you didn't actually buy shorts. >> And this is what I'm telling him. I did have one pair of shorts for $5. They're in there on the counter. The other pair was army for tea. They were over there on the counter. Everything I did on this lady is over there. All the receipts, the the lounger, everything, everything is over there. Every single thing. >> So, how did how did four or five different shorts? Because for one, you're missing. This is a totally different record. These are all things they're supposed to be on clearance, I guess. So, these are all the things that I grabbed out of the store. So, that's what they rung up as. And like I told him, I got all the items right there. So, if it rung up, you see, I run it plain as day. Every single item, every one. But I'm not going to. And you see what I'm saying? So all I'm saying all you had to do is come to me. >> She claimed she had spent $500 on shopping and only made a small mistake on a few items. However, footage and receipts proved she had deliberately cheated. This was the moment the police took action. >> All right. Um we are going to have to take you into custody. >> Crazy for what? >> So you came for the missing. >> Hold on. Wait. Hold on. Wait. Stop. Don't grab it. Hold on. Wait. I'm not I'm not fighting with me. You're under arrest. >> Excuse me. Wait. You're >> under arrest. Listen. >> Stop. Because I didn't under ring. What tactic are you using? >> Put your hand Why are you ill for me? >> I got taser. Taser. Taser. Taser. >> For what? For what? Why are you tack? >> Instead of cooperating, Kenya grew agitated and acted foolishly, escalating the situation and forcing police to use stronger measures. >> Get your hands behind your back. Get your hands out of your >> What the is wrong with you? What did I do? >> What are you doing? >> What are you doing? What the are you doing? What are you doing? >> What are you doing? What? >> Hands behind your back. Keep them there. >> Stop resisting. Cut down. put you in. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Get down on the ground in your stomach, >> baby. >> The arrest wasn't easy as she seemed almost immune to the taser, forcing officers to quickly call in extra support. >> My gift card, everything. I'm not resisting. I am a prank. >> Why did you stay on my wrist like that? I'm a pregnant woman. Hold on. I don't got no problem not resisting. I can lay I can't lay on my >> tough lay on my side. I can't lay on my I'm pregnant. I can't lay on my I'm pregnant. I'm not refusing. I'm not refusing. I am a pregnant woman. >> Taser. >> I am a pregnant woman. >> I didn't do nothing. I I didn't do nothing. >> Listen, >> that's five times they tried. >> That's five times they t me for nothing, y'all. For absolutely nothing, they t me for nothing. When I say for nothing, that Oh, god damn. Damn. Then what's the roses on the G and I'm pregnant. >> Finally, Kenya was charged with two repeat offenses. Retail theft by altering prices and resisting an officer along with attempting to disarm a police officer. Her bail was set at $2,500. This case shows how stubborn choices only make things worse. The lesson: Take responsibility and cooperate with the law or face harsher consequences. Up next, see how this fashionable woman demands her rights in front of police. >> Have a seat. Thank you. >> The female officer so she can dig in my draw. >> On February 12th, 2025, police responded to a report from Alta Beauty that nearly $1,000 in merchandise had just been lost to an unusual woman. Watch how officers handled the situation. >> No, ma'am. >> Yes, ma'am. I am. >> Oh, okay. >> Come on. Let's go back in. >> Go back in inside. >> Yes, ma'am. I can't even make it to my car. >> I'm not going to run, sir. >> I know you're not alone. >> I got enough money to buy all this. I don't know where >> I'm going to buy you. So, could I No, >> the time to buy it was back there. >> You have the loss prevention office or anything? >> No. >> No. >> Is there anywhere we have that we can do this? Okay. >> Can I bring her back there or >> She insisted she had money to pay, but the store refused. Police then directed her to the security office to gather more information. >> Ma'am, >> I'm taking this stuff out. >> Okay. >> All right. >> No problem. >> What's that bag? Let me see. >> This I came in here with that. I only use that bag right there. >> That's fine. Thank you. >> I've been very nice to you. I didn't try to run from you or anything. >> What that mean? >> I mean, I feel like you can give me a warning. This is my first time doing it. >> It's not up to me. That's okay. >> I know. But what I'm saying is I'll pay for all the stuff that I have anyway. >> Again, that's up to them. What's your phone number, >> sir? He said it's up to you. I don't be want to be rude, but I know that I lost my job two months ago and I used to come in here all the time and spend like my whole paycheck basically items. Yeah, I know I was wrong and I have learned my lesson. Trust me, I would never do this again. I would never come back to your store. I would buy every item that I have in my bag literally. >> Well, you're not going to come back anyway. >> Come back. >> No, I'm saying I'm not coming back in. No, no, I'm saying I'm not coming back in. >> We have things that we could have offered you if you just came up and just try to get me out of my person. Yeah. >> Excuse me, sir. I can't hear you. >> She claimed it was just her first mistake, blaming tough times. Would that be enough to stop the arrest? >> I lose my housing. I have four kids. I don't lose my housing. >> Okay. So, you worry about the wrong thing. >> No, I'm just trying to speak to him and see if I can buy the items instead because it's the same thing. I didn't leave the store. They got all the items for all the items. >> Are you familiar with your Miranda warnings, man? >> Yeah. >> You have the right to remain silent and not answer any questions. Do you understand that? I don't understand why you're being rude and you're a man. Like what are you being rooted for if I'm trying to buy something? >> I'm not being rude, man. You have the right to remain silent. >> I'm asking you another question. I'm asking could I speak with him because he has the authority. >> This time you are not able to speak with him. >> But he didn't say I couldn't speak with him. You're saying that I can't speak with him and I'm just trying to say myself or one because my son is >> absolutely I'm no longer having this conversation. I'm letting him investigation. >> No, I understand. I'm just saying could I buy it? That's all. >> I'm going to say no because if you were going to buy it, we would have done it the first time. >> Okay. But everyone make mistakes. But okay. >> Of course we do. >> I'm listening to what you're saying. >> I'm I need you to verbally confirm whether >> I'm handicapped. So I can't like I'm mentally physically. >> Okay. So you are physically unable. Gizophrenic. >> Okay. So you're saying you're mentally incapable of giving me a statement. >> I'm not. >> Are you or are you not capable of giving me a statement? >> I am. >> What's schizophrenic? >> Gizophrenic is when you hear boy schizophrenic. >> Oh my god. Whatever. That Yeah, that. When officers read the Miranda rights, the suspect interrupted, claiming everyone makes mistakes and began showing clear signs of non-compliance. >> Okay. But I don't understand what >> you have the right to remain silent and I answer any questions. Do you understand that? >> I am slow. Like you can call my mom. You want to call my mom so she'll be able to translate to me cuz I don't have my full >> Okay. So what part of that don't you understand that? You have the right to remain silent and not answer any question. >> I don't understand none of it. >> Okay. So you're refusing. >> You're waving your >> I'm telling you that I I have a disability. >> Okay. So, hey, I tried to talk to you a want to talk to me. So, talk to you either because I don't seen too many people on Instagram get caught stealing and y'all give them a warning. I'm asking you to pay for everything that I got. So, it's even a fair like I learned my lesson. I'm blocked from the store. So, I don't understand what's going on. Could you call officer what you calling for me? >> Um, >> no. >> What you got? >> It is funny. She claimed to be slow-minded and showed no concern for what police said, but stay tuned. The surprise is just ahead. >> I need to speak with >> came back with a female born in 94 first last name. I'm put them on. >> What? >> Thank you. >> As long as you don't break them cuz they $700, baby. Okay. >> And that'll be >> Have a seat. >> Thank you. >> Police uncovered her long criminal history and once handcuffed, she began revealing her true colors. >> N mother driver. >> That's okay. I'm claustrophobic, >> claustrophobic, >> whatever you want to. You so smart, sir. You show You so smart. You shouldn't have been a damn sit back. >> You I can't sit back. My hands behind my back. >> Okay. I need a I need a seat belt. >> Okay, sir. My hands is behind my back. I have to reach across. >> Okay. And I'm sitting back. What you want me to do? >> Okay. And this is as far as we know, this is everything that she took. >> Okay. >> All right. Cool. So, everything's recovered. I'll just get pictures of that stuff that I have to listed in my report and then you have footage. >> Police gathered solid evidence of the stolen merchandise. Meanwhile, inside the patrol car, the woman kept demanding her personal rights and claimed she was being treated unfairly. >> Take the stuff off of me. >> You You can't take no stuff off me. You got to be a female officer to touch me. >> Okay, ma'am. >> Please call the female officer. >> Yeah, call the female officer, please. You're not going to search. You not going to touch You told me I'm going to take off my clothes. What the I look like. I just told you it's my it's my what you call. >> Okay. I You cannot have any loose articles on you. >> Right. >> Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. >> Guess what? I ain't killed nobody. So, I will be out clear as day. >> That's fine. >> Yeah. What you saying? You You trying to hurt a female. You must ain't got no females in your life. You >> My family don't steal, sweetheart. >> And I don't either. But I ain't going to. But like I said, I would pay for it. So that ain't stealing cuz I got the money to pay for it. You cannot touch my private port cuz if you touch my private port, y'all going to get >> Is it inside of this? >> It's in my drawers. It's in my drawers. >> Okay, so I have to warn you that introduction of contraband to a secure facility. >> Call the female officer so she can dig in my draws. >> I just told you I do not. >> The woman stubbornly insisted that having money meant she couldn't be considered a thief. Testing officer's patience with non-stop demands for a female cop. >> Female officer to check me. You ain't going to stick your p your hands in my pants. >> I didn't ask you that. >> Okay. So, I don't know what else to tell you. I don't know what else to tell you. >> All right. No problem. >> Thank you. >> And it's inside of your >> pants. >> You're inside of your pants or inside? >> My draws. My My drawers with my pants. >> And what is >> I got on? It's Apple Watch. The new Apple Watch that just came out. The black ones. >> She has She has some type of device on her. >> I believe it may be in her pants area. She said it's in her crotch area. Obviously, I'm not going to go in there. I took all the other loose items she has on there. Can you just try to get that out of her? >> Hello. >> Hi. How are you? Good. >> What do you got on you? >> Nothing. I got >> Okay, turn around. >> You can pull it the bottom. The bottom right here. >> Is that your phone? >> That's my my um Apple Watch. >> Oh, you have it on. >> Yeah. Take that off. >> Huh? >> I don't have it on me. >> Oh, okay. Right on him. I asked him for two supervisors and he have yet to give me any supervisor that I asked for. And that's illegal for you to do. If I'm asking for higher authority, that mean I want higher authority. I need a supervisor now. I'm getting tired of him. He really working my patience. I'm dead ass serious. Her defiance in past crimes strengthening the case. Facing up to 5 years in prison and $5,000 fines. This case reminds us that having money can't erase theft, and defiance only speeds up the road to jail. Next comes a case that even had the officers laughing. >> Just give me a second. I got to get off this. My ass is so fat. This is how we do it on Sunday night. >> On July 16th, 2023 in Florida, police responded to a call from Publix about a woman acting strangely and unable to pay for the items she had already used. Here's what happened. >> Good morning. >> Killed like 10 things up for soup. >> Oh, put her hand in every box of chicken that we had. So, we hadn't already. They were that harassing me. It's all over the surveillance. I promise you. >> The woman argued that her phone was dead and she couldn't use Apple Pay. She insisted she had money but needed to charge her phone to pay. Officers then assisted her. >> So, if you charge her phone, you don't pay. >> What kind of phone do you got? >> Apple. iPhone 14 Pro Max 26 >> 17th edition for me >> you have a phone charger >> 600 buy C for me and then I'll trade you something for it which one are you buying for me >> I'm not buying anything for you >> oh I can buy the charger and then >> No you get no no >> they're going to loan you a charger temporarily to charge your phone hopefully and they said no they said they said you're going to 33rd and I was like what how do you know about 33rd I see you in there. And she was like, "Yeah, catch me outside." They answer. I was like, "What?" >> All right. >> Try otherwise it's not going to fly with state attorney. >> [ __ ] all the time. That's why I got a class action lawsuit already. >> I have a feeling it's not going to end up working out. So, but we got to got to try. >> While waiting for her phone to charge, the woman kept rambling and claimed she was being discriminated against. At the same time, officers gathered evidence from store security to verify the information. Ma'am, you said that you want to get your phone charged so you can pay for the stuff you just ate. >> She said she lied to you on camera on your said there's no charges. Then she said there is >> Do you have a ID or driver's license on you? So we were talking 185 away and I never got it back. >> Opened every single one of these. >> She put her hand in every single one of these boxes. No, that she opened that same open. >> Some of them are not. I'll tell you what, the ones that are not open, let's just get rid of them. the one that she has opened and touched something. W's going to charter for those. >> What's your first name? >> I'm a YouTuber and it's um >> What's your What's your first name? >> FY Dasty. >> Dy Dasty. >> Uh how many more things in soup? >> How many things of soup total? >> I think it's going to be like eight things of soup. >> What's your date of birth, Dynasty Robertson? >> It's 2946. >> So, ma'am, just confirm we do have the money on your account to pay for I sure do. But I can't see it right now until the charge comes up. >> How much is it? >> Hold on. It looks like it's probably going to be over $100. >> Over $100. That's great. >> Okay. As long as you $100, that's fine. >> Yeah, but they they were acting like it was going to be $500,000. Like, >> no, I I don't think uh the bills generally go up that high. >> You never told me to tell them they harassed me until you guys got here after it was going to pay. >> She appeared calm when officers told her the amount, still blaming the staff, but watch as the truth was revealed right after. >> Where? So, you said 1946, I believe. >> Yeah. So, I should ask. >> So, because I don't think that's accurate cuz that would put you at like 70 years old. >> No, probably 77, actually. >> Okay. Are you 77 years old? >> That's why I have silver hair. See, you think a 21-year-old girl would have silver hair like this? >> Oh, you look great for your age. >> Oh, thank you so much. >> The whole counter was filled with soup. >> She was just ladling and out. >> Yeah. And she kept going. I'm like, "Well, at this point, we have to say something to her cuz we can't keep letting her filled up." So then when she asked her, she said that she'll feed the homeless with a $25,000 check that she's got. So I'm like, "Man, if you pay on a check, I can't take a check from that mouth." She was like, "I never said that. I'm paying with cash." >> I don't know why, but I have a feeling Apple Pay is not going to work. That's just my professional opinion. Um, >> then she just thought, "Oh, if I touched it, you can't sell it." And just open every boxes. other boxes we just ruined. >> So, okay. So, she consumed something out of each one of these boxes, though. Okay. >> Yes, they are. >> Staff confirms she ruined food items, making many unsellable. Later, with her phone fully charged. Watch how she took responsibility for her actions. >> All right, we got just enough juice. Let's pull up this Apple Pay. >> What happened? >> Deli department line 100. >> So, if you're having trouble Oh. Oh, you got Oh. Oh, >> I'm sorry. What was that? >> Hold on. Please wait. Please wait. >> Not authorized. >> Oh my goodness. Let's try another one. Don't worry. Don't worry. >> If you want to use the combination, that's also allowed. It's going to be depleted. So, we can try another card. >> No. Keep on live right now cuz they're live adding stuff to my cash app. That's why it's going to say not offer if you want to hit 17 since they're watching it live and on your iPods cuz you guys are parking too obviously. After failing with Apple Pay and multiple cards, she still couldn't pay and came up with another excuse. >> Found out how to pay it off and I have another card on here. So, I'm clearing this for $1,300 right now. >> I'm ready for you. >> And then once I do that, then I'm going to go buy a bunch of clothes. Let's see. We'll blow this guy on it as well. Okay. >> Well, let's pay for this food and we'll be done for the day. >> Hey, would you like some cuz I'm just going outside and accidentally pick it up. Free food for you. >> Once you buy it is all yours. >> I know. It's yours, >> too. % die again. >> Ma'am, do you have any checks on you? >> I don't use checks. Do you use checks? How bad? That's like a H. >> I know, but idiots use checks. >> Yeah, that's a weird question. >> Hi, welcome in. >> After vague promises and deliberate stalling, the officer's patience had finally reached its limit. >> All right, that that'll that'll be enough. >> We've satisfied this. [Applause] >> Stand up. We know you up. >> I can't no you can't do this to me. Let me get my can at least, please. >> Bane's going to come with you. Come on. But we'll help you. We will be your cane. This is what we call this how we do it on Sunday and preaching it forever. >> The woman was ultimately charged with pet theft and disorderly conduct. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail along with probation and fines. The case reminds the community that dishonest and irresponsible actions only lead to severe legal consequences. On March 8th, 2025, police were called to a local supermarket after employees reported that two suspicious men had quickly stuffed items into a cart and tried to flee. The events unfolded as follows. What's going on, man? I'm talking to you. What's going on? What's going on? >> Espanol. >> Okay. Where's the other guy you're with? >> No, no, no, no. Where's the other guy you're with? >> The amigo? >> Yeah. Where's the amigo you're with? Yeah. Yeah. Where's the amigo? >> Here's the thing. The door's locked. You're not going anywhere, right? So, we're just trying to figure out what's going on. >> Hold on. Hold on. Give us a minute. We're trying to investigate something. Don't leave. All right. We got to investigate something. All right. >> A Spanish- speakaking officer was called in to assist. The suspect claimed he was alone, but the truth was yet to be revealed. >> Hey, he keeps trying he keeps wanting to leave. Do I have anything to hold him on or >> Oh, he's being trespass. >> Trespassing. Don't take it. So, He said that he got dropped off >> by what car? >> A truck. A blue truck. >> A blue truck. You just got dropped off. He's saying his Mexican boss left him. He's saying that he got dropped off to do uh what's it called? to buy stuff and now he feels offended because everyone's following him and all that stuff. >> What about the other guy that was with him? >> He said that it's he met him here. >> No, he said >> they had this just so I have this correct. He got dropped off here by his boss in a blue truck. He met another subject here. They both decided to load carts full of merchandise and then just Right. He kept insisting he was innocent and the lack of an ID forced the officers to keep monitoring him further. >> Trespass. Okay. Verify his identity. And if we can't verify his identity, we're going to have to uh verify his identity. Um we got his date of birth. We got his date of birth. He's saying he feels uncomfortable that he doesn't know. He's saying that he hasn't committed a crime. He wants to leave. >> He's committed the crime of trespassing. Tell him he's trespassing. We have to give him a warning that he can no longer be here. Okay. >> After confirming the accomplice wasn't in the store, officers told the main suspect he was trespassing, which immediately offended him. >> So, he says that uh he doesn't know his phone number. The info he gave me his name, date of birth, and address. He says he lives at the guy who dropped him off is Juan Rodriguez, who also lives at him, lives with him. He says the the black gentleman that was in here before, uh he doesn't know him that he just came in here. He was going to pay for all those stuff with his zel, but now he's offended and he wants to leave and he's not going to he's not going to buy the items anymore. He's just going to leave. >> Can we explain to him that he >> that he's trespassed? We explain to him that they've been reported by other stores and we'll met he says that he wasn't there. Okay. He's saying that he was just going to buy it with zel and he was there. He's saying he's a hard worker. >> Okay. So, >> where's the other guy? >> You still can't find him. So um but like I don't know if you want to look at that picture on uh his screen, but I don't think it's that guy. >> Once again, he changed his story about the companion, but this time instead of cooperating, he chose a foolish move that escalated the situation immediately. >> It doesn't look like you. What did he say his name was? >> Hey. Hey. Hey. >> 70. He's running. We're running towards the street towards Panera. Hey. >> Hey. Right. >> Don't in the piece. >> Back up. >> Sorry. Shoulder. I got him. Got him. Look at your hand. Give me your [ __ ] hand, bro. Shut up. >> Got you. Trespassing, man. >> What happened, man? After just a few tenth seconds of chase, an officer tackled the suspect to the ground, taking him down before he had any chance to escape. >> You got anything else on you? >> I thought I got in better than me, but then >> he had all the momentum going. >> That hockey stuff already, man. >> He had all the momentum. >> Good morning. >> 120 Henry 12119. Item Henry 12119. 120. >> We got a camera rolling in here, >> Jeff. 120. >> In the end, the suspect was arrested and officially charged with obstruction, resisting arrest and providing false information. What was that? >> I got The suspect immediately resisted, forcing officers to take him down and handcuff him as tensions escalated. But the chaos didn't stop there. What police uncovered next was even more surprising. >> What did I do? >> What did I do? >> You guys fake ID. >> Stop moving. >> Stop moving. Okay. All right. Can I get up, please? My arm. All right. My arm. >> I want you there. This is my key. >> Your key? >> Yeah. Right here is mine. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. What are you doing, dude? >> What are you doing? What are you doing? You're under arrest. You're going to jail. That's stupid. Now stand up. How stupid could you be in the car? >> Well, stop presenting me. After escorting the suspect to the vehicle, officers returned to the dealership staff where testimony exposed the scammer's full scheme. >> What? What exactly? He just submitted a bunch of like bank stuff to show that he could. >> So, he did an online application. Well, actually, >> he called in and he had to do an online application. He did an online application, his info, but his paycheck stuff was fake. Um, I when I asked him certain questions, I could tell that he he was telling me he worked for TitleMax. You see it's a different company on there. Yeah. >> So, he was trying to remember his story, but he doesn't remember the whole thing. >> But, um, initially he took four or five different phone calls just to see I think he had some scout. Um, we called someone that he didn't see any cops here. So, he thought, "Okay." >> And then when it came in um he picked the car. He said, "We just want to do with no money down." He was going to buy that car. We already have we have an approval on it. >> But then what flagged it was he's from Connecticut. And he sent me an Ohio State ID. And I sent you guys that ID. It came back as um the ID that's on there. He claimed to be that person. >> Yeah. He came in and said, "Hey, I'm have an appointment with OG." And then that's how we identified him. I'm Jason." He says right now I'm Zach. I'm the one you've been talking to. That's how we identify. >> So he said he was Zach. >> Okay. All right. Can you throw out a statement for me then? >> Yeah. The suspect used fake papers and false info to get a car with no deposit. As officers read Miranda rights, they discovered he wasn't alone. This is how it's going to go. I'm going to read you your rights and I'm going to explain everything to you and then you can tell me anything you want to tell me. So, you do have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to have an attorney present during any questioning. You can stop answering questions at any time. Okay, I'm going to let you think about that for a minute cuz we got all the paperwork, everything that you submitted. All right, so think about that and then maybe we can have a chat. Other than that, right now, as long as you're cool in here, hopefully the air is on. It is. You're just going to sit here for a second. We got a couple things we got to do. >> All right, so push your your leg in. >> Hey, one second. Can Can you Can you go on my phone and get a number on my phone? Well, we we will take care of that later on down the line. Not right now. >> So, what's happening with them in the vehicle? >> Well, we're going to go over there and I'm going to have a chat with them, too. I need to understand what's going on here. Okay. So, watch your leg. >> He's been read his rights. You good? >> Officers then approached the suspect's two companions. Instead of cooperating, they immediately showed irritation. >> How y'all doing? >> Good. >> Good. What's going on? You guys just giving somebody a ride? >> Oh, okay. Do me a favor. Step out here and talk to us. >> You got any concealed weapons or anything on you? >> You doing the >> There you go. You're not under arrest for nothing. But then you're like, "Well, that's my friend, too." >> No, I mean, we're all friends. >> We're all friends, but we know each other from the neighborhood. That's it. >> Okay. All right. >> Not like that. I only knew him for about a couple months. >> Couple months. >> Same as him. I met him at the same time. >> Okay. It is a little warm, ain't it? Believe me, I know. I'm in all dark. So, okay. But he didn't say anything about coming to get a car or nothing like that. That's just >> going to ask when you guys drive that thing. >> I I don't even have a vehicle in the name. I don't have nothing. So, if I'm getting a ride somewhere, that's that's >> I get you. It doesn't preclude you from trying to drive though. I mean, >> I can't even drive. I don't have license. >> Well, believe me, we know plenty of people that drive without license. >> I swear to God. I swear to God. I do not know how to drive at all. I don't even I got I don't even have license. I've never drove a car. Literally, I drove a car when I was 16. I'm just like the middle. >> They insisted they barely knew him and had no idea about the fraudulent plan. But once officers searched the car, more surprising truths about the group were revealed. Heat. Heat. Who's the guy you got out there, Curtis? Is that like a fake? No. >> Yeah, I need that. Photograph that. That's That's what he used. >> Okay. It was in his door pocket. Wait, hold on. He's been handling this very well. >> Not a single tear. >> Shamelessly, the woman used her child as a shield to protect herself from the cops. This reckless behavior was a clear sign of someone not mentally stable. On top of facing theft charges, she could very well lose custody of her child. >> You have any weapons on you that I know about? >> I'm not going to jail. >> Okay. Okay. We're going to take a seat in my car. >> What are you doing? What are you doing? You're still going to sit in my car. I don't This act I don't really care for. So, no. What was she taking? >> Oh, it was a whole car. >> Okay. that whole thing. >> Okay. >> Yeah. I'm going to take some photos real quick. >> Okay. >> The woman might have been too proud to accept help paying for her items. Or perhaps she wasn't in the right state of mind to make rational decisions. Either way, she foolishly chose to break the law. >> All right. So, right now, you're under arrest for theft three and obstruction. Okay. >> Let me get her name in. >> No. What's up, gentlemen? She even refused to walk to the police car, claiming her arms hurt, as if she expected getting arrested and handcuffed to be a luxurious, pain-free experience. Let me go. Let's go to the car. She's way too in my car. I don't know why we're walking on I >> Why are you holding >> I figured you guys going to try and put her in a stair and >> Yeah. >> I want you to calm down. No, >> you're causing me physical pain. No, I'm not calming down. >> I did. >> I'm pretty sure I told you to listen to >> I have a baby to go home to. >> Well, not tonight. >> Does uh do you have evidence bags in the back? >> I think so. >> Perfect. Can you grab me one, please? >> All right. You got a grip for me? I'm going to go blow those around. Can you not hold my arm like that? >> You're going to come down. >> Yeah. But >> if you pull away like that, you have to go right back to it. Okay. >> Do you have anything in your pock stick uh poke you or hurt me? >> No. What a real piece of [ __ ] stealing cleaning supplies and baby clothes. What a [ __ ] crap. >> It's unfortunate that the woman couldn't afford basic necessities for her child or home, but stealing was never the answer. As the officers discussed the situation, her temper tantrum only escalated while being placed in the squad car. >> Can you put my vape in with my belongings, please? That is mine. I paid for it. I want it back when all this is said and done. Thank you. Here you go. >> Yeah. Appreciate it. Um, >> no. >> You want me to cut the side in your hair? >> Yeah. >> I'll take her. >> They'll take her. >> They'll take her. I'll call for you. >> Yeah, if you want to call, take it and I'll work on the trespass >> and then um I already got the photo and the stuff with just they I just need to get his statement. >> Yeah, I'll get his statement site. Send it to home. >> Stop. >> I'm never going to see my again. >> No, >> it's not in her head. I thought she wasn't. >> Yeah, >> she was a normal just adult about this. >> I thought Hobbles >> or Lego restraints. Yeah, she's going to be kicking like that. I would. Otherwise, it's going to be right here. That's going to be a lot. Yeah, let's do it. >> It was clear the ride to jail was about to be a long, miserable ordeal. So, the officers decided to take action. They strapped on hobbles, ensuring the woman couldn't kick the cage and making the trip a lot less troublesome for everyone involved. >> That's why I say mine are right here on this side in my bag. [Music] I just took a walk. >> I have a >> Yeah, I got money. >> Where's your Where's your house at? >> I'm going to tell you. >> Okay. Well, I need to know for the citation. >> I'm homeless. >> Okay. >> So, how are you going home to a baby if you're homeless? >> She's with her father. >> Okay, then she's she's somewhere safe. >> No, actually, she's not. >> Okay. He's a biological father. Okay. So, if you're going to I got real quick, if you're going to keep continue to kick that kind of stuff, I'm going to put you into leg restraints. Okay. >> Do it. >> So, otherwise, just relax and we'll go up to jail and it'll be really quick and easy. >> Oh, yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I'm never going to see my again. What are you talking about? >> It's a basic shoplift. If you would have complied with us for the very beginning, I'd have probably issued >> how [ __ ] works for black people. when we get put in handcuffs. >> Okay. >> Are you going to be Are you going to continue to kick my my >> I want to go home and see my month old. >> Okay. >> Go stop. Go stop someone who's really bad and evil. I'm getting things for my still. >> She may have had a point, but what she couldn't seem to understand was that the officers were just doing their job enforcing the law. It appeared she had a history with the police though as she angrily mentioned having been in restraints before. In >> trouble for I need a lawyer. >> You're under arrest for theft third and resisting. >> So what happened? >> So from here I will be booking you into jail where you'll be able to see a judge uh tomorrow and you'll have a bail amount to get out of get out of jail. >> Well, I don't have bail. I don't have money. I can't even call my baby dad. [Music] I'm going to chew through my Idital. I am not a mentally stable person. You don't even know who you have in the back of your car right now. And I'm also on methadone. So I will sit here and withdraw as >> they have that available at the jail. >> Do a day in for that. I have a bundle. Once again, she was making it incredibly difficult for the officers to feel any sympathy. If she just complied with their instructions after getting caught shoplifting, she probably would have received a low bond. But with her kicking, screaming, and bringing up opioid use, she only made herself look far worse. >> Babe, >> I'm in the back of a cop car and I'm going to jail cuz I'm at Walmart and I got caught stealing. >> What? I am in a cop car. I am handcuffed. I am going to jail because I got caught shoplifting. >> Where? Which one? >> It doesn't matter. The Walmart. >> No. What's the jail? >> I don't know. >> Should be going to score, sir. >> Up in De Mo. >> Thank you. Um All right. Um All right. Thank you. >> All right. [ __ ] Okay. Um, >> yes. Um, what I mean? >> He said I have to stay tonight and I have to talk to a judge tomorrow and if I don't get bail, I'm >> How much do you know? How much your bail is? >> I don't know. >> It's going to be $2,000 >> or or bond >> or bondsman. Yeah. >> Uh, thank you. Um, all right. Uh, thank you. All right. Okay. Thank you very much. All right. Where is Amari? >> Is she okay? >> He'll be okay. Just let me in. >> In the end, she was charged with theft and resisting arrest. In Washington, resisting arrest is a misdemeanor crime, which means that it is punishable by up to 90 days in jail and a fine up to $1,000, or both.
