I'm a single mom. I'm just trying to get I just started a job and I'm just trying to make a good impression. >> Okay. >> And so that's why I'm saying I'll never come back again. >> Oh, no. I got >> On September 16th, 2021, police were dispatched to Home Depot after a report of a theft at the store. Upon being approached, the female suspect immediately defended herself, but did not provide any evidence. >> All right. >> I'll never come back. Oh, that's not what I'm worried about. And if you paid for it all, where's the receipt? >> He has it. >> He has it? >> Yes. >> Let's walk in there and find out. >> Okay. I don't I'm going to be late for work. >> Uh, well, no, we're beyond that right now. All right. You're just going to have to be late. Unfortunately, we got called. We're going to investigate something. You will get a report if you need to go back to work as an excuse for whatever it is at work. But right now, we are investigating the possibility of a crime. So, >> I just don't want to go. We're going to figure everything out right now. Okay. You're just going to have to stay safe. >> Can I just sign something? >> No. No. Like I said, we're we're This isn't a bargaining deal. Like, we're in the middle of an investigation. Okay. So, lost inside. Apparently, he has a receipt. I haven't identified her yet. Okay. >> You have a driver's license on you by chance, ma'am. >> I promise I'll never come back and get it. >> And that's all well and good, but like I said, we got our process to follow her. Can you just ask them that or never come back? You know, >> we'll figure that out. >> What she [snorts] insisted on was that she would never return to the store, which is also what the store required if she had indeed committed a crime. However, when the police questioned her about the matter, she responded in a very roundabout. >> So, what's going on today? Tell me everything. >> I'm a single mom. I'm just trying to get I just started trying to get >> Okay. >> And so, that's why I'm saying I'll never come back again. >> Oh, no. I got you. So, >> when um when you came into the store today, what did you come in the store for? >> Did you pay the paint brushes? >> Uhhuh. >> Paint brushes and maybe And the wipes. What are they wear? Mr. Clean wipes. >> Uhhuh. the paint box. >> Okay. What card did you pay off of? Did you use a card or cash? >> Card. >> Card. You have the card with you? >> Yes. >> Okay. Are you able to pull up the bank statement saying that you paid for that stuff right now? >> Yeah. He's got the receipt. >> I know. And I'm having that officer go and get it, but I'm trying to >> I'm trying to find out what exactly you used. And your bank will reflect that you paid. How much did you pay? It was like $35. >> 35 for paint brushes. >> Yeah. >> Grease lightning. >> Grease lighter. And it has >> That's uh everything she didn't pay for. >> What? What? Let me see the receipt that she did. >> It's just stupid. >> Tell me about this. Ryobi 8 volt drill, a handheld sprayer, quick change cleaning kit, cabinet cleaner. >> Oh, that was the brush. I think brush thing. >> Okay. >> Although she didn't formally admit it, the receipt and her lack of denial spoke for her. Everything was further confirmed by the store employees. >> We got a female officer. >> Yeah, we have we have her outside right now. Um she's a known shopper. So she's known to come in here and um pick up a whole bunch of merchandise and then she picks up shopping boxes, the moving boxes, >> and then she would actually hide the merchandise in between the boxes and then go to self check out and only scan like two of the boxes, some small items and then walk out on the power tools >> today when we saw her on the floor. >> It is what it is at this point. We can't change the past, but we're here. We got to figure it out. You may be telling me the truth for all I know, but I can't take you at your word at the moment. >> No, I I I >> know, but again, I can't let you go. We're there's nothing up for debate right now. I can't tell you that we're going to sign anything. I can't tell you what we're going to do until that officer gets back to me with what he saw and what they said. >> The woman thought she might be able to plead her way out, but it wasn't that simple with that amount. And suspicion still lingered in her bag. >> Change. Okay, you're not under arrest yet, but you are detained pending this investigation. And because you are detained, you are not free to leave. Okay, I'm just being completely upfront with you. That's exactly how it is right now. There's people here that are alleging that you sold $490 worth of items. That's why I have an officer in there looking at video camera footage. And that's why I'm asking you what we're going to see. So we have $29 up for a drill. I guess that's for the drill. >> Tools are expensive. >> Like one drill could be 150 bucks. >> Tools are very expensive. >> I didn't realize that. >> You may not have realized it, but that's essentially what we got. >> But Chance, is there any other items that you have right now in that bag that doesn't belong to you? Could we look? >> Yeah. All I have is my cigarette. >> What about this? That's mine. That's mine. I have >> You have a receipt for it? >> Well, no. I have in my car. I actually have more paint in my car. I actually have more paint in my car. That is just I was getting for work. >> Why would it be in your purse? >> Cuz I was going to carry it to work for the paint brushes and everything. >> I promise you, if you look in my car, I have paint in my car. >> Now, she wanted to settle the payment even though she could have done it from the start. Surprisingly, the underlying reason for her misconduct was her genuine care for her work. >> So, all of those items are paid for, >> but there was a list of other items besides the drills that work. >> Yeah, the scotch work. It's just scotch sc. I just didn't want to have nothing. I was trying to do, like I said, clean up the store and get a thing. I mean, I can pay for it. >> Okay. But why didn't you? >> Cuz like I said, see how long I haven't got paid yet. I was trying to If you were buying the stuff for the purpose of maintaining your workplace. >> Yeah. >> Why didn't your workplace give you the money to buy it? >> Cuz I was trying I was trying to kind of show initiative, I guess. I got you. Okay. But but you you're telling me that you >> Okay. You're telling me that you purposfully neglected to pay for those items? >> Well, no. I actually um I actually went to hit one. If you if you look at the camera, look at the boxing. I went and hit the board and um I honestly wasn't trying to pay attention, but the um honestly the scotch guard I did not which I didn't pay. I'm being honest. >> Okay. This is the best job I've ever got. >> At this time, the police made their decision, including the outcome she had hoped for from the start, hoping this would teach her which actions truly benefit her life. All right, ma'am. I just need you to sign this form. It's a criminal trespass form. This basically states that you're no longer welcome on the premises. If you're ever called on the premises again, obviously this grounds for automatic arrest. Okay. Just walk over your desk so you can sign in on a flat surface. All right. Other than that, I'm going to need to do me a favor. I'm going to put your hands behind your back. No. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to take my bag off. >> Can you at least call my job? >> Well, we'll we'll figure all that out shortly afterwards. All right. >> Can I Can I bond out or whatever? You're going to be released on Catina right now cuz we're having issue with the jail right now. So, we're going to get you fingerprinted and then we're going to bring you back over here and then you'll be able to go home. >> Mhm. >> In the event, you know, something like this happens and the arrest is more effective where you actually would go to jail and that's something that has to be dealt with for the state. We have to make sure that whoever is going to be able to come over and take care of the child in your absence clearly. But again, this is clearly something you need to really look at yourself at when it comes down to taking care of your child, taking care of your family, taking care of yourself, cuz isn't that really the life that you really want to live? Clearly, the woman was charged with retail theft. Even when someone genuinely cares about their job, cutting corners or stealing will only bring trouble. Honesty and following proper procedures are what truly protect your career and personal life. on the ground. >> On [screaming] the ground on the ground. >> On March 12th, 2024, police received a call from a local shopping center reporting a theft in progress. The suspects had fled into the parking lot in a white Toyota. When officers arrived and tried to block the vehicle, everything became far more complicated. Run, you're getting more trouble. >> Oh, ho. You try to hit me. Did you just try to hit me? 64. They're taking a 1031 in the white Toyota. Stand by for tag. It just about hit me. I just saw him running from me from the store. I have a whole bag of stuff with me now. >> These suspects were ready to throw away the stolen goods the moment they saw the police and jump into their car to escape. But their effort completely failed when officers already had a plan to capture them. >> Turning car now. Go back towards 100. >> Vehicle wrecked out. >> High vehicle wrecked out to AMO. >> Even in that situation, the suspect still had the presence of mind to run out from the nearby bushes, making the situation even more chaotic. >> Show me your hands. SHOW YOUR HANDS NOW. Show me your hands. Give me YOUR HANDS NOW. HANDS UP. HANDS UP. ALL THREE of you. Hands up. >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> GET ON THE GROUND. >> LAY DOWN ON THE GROUND NOW. ON THE GROUND. >> GET DOWN on the ground. >> ON THE GROUND. >> Get down on the ground. >> Get down on the ground. >> We're coming this way. towards me. >> Come on. >> Who else is that? >> Okay, man. >> Keep coming. >> Put your phone down. Put your phone down. Put it down. Turn around. Turn around. Turn around. Shouldn't have ran from him. >> I saw you run. Really? I'm the guy that you >> Anybody else in the car? >> Put your hands together. Put your hands together. Yeah, there's three. Are you hurt? >> Let's give some more commands to inside the vehicle first. >> Fire County Sheriff's Office. >> All right, step back with me. Step back with me. >> Yeah, let's get down behind cover. >> County Sheriff's Office. >> I got the merchandise that she dropped. >> Oh, that's her driver right there. Yeah. Shouldn't have tried to hit me. >> What happened? >> Oh, no. What happened? I got you on my video when I pulled up to you. >> I didn't. >> Be very careful. You sell the tr You tell the truth. >> I didn't try to hit you, sir. >> No, but you dropped that bag. >> Both women showed their professionalism in every move. From fleeing in the car to playing the victim over the very chaos they had caused. >> I don't split my hand. >> Knees to your chest. >> Knees to your chest. >> All right. Stand up. Okay. >> Oh, my leg. Hold on. >> You got to stand up. >> My leg. >> Put you on your leg. >> I hit my leg. >> Hey, he hit my leg. >> When he was driving, he hit my leg. >> When he was driving, he hit your leg. >> It's sad though. aim down. >> I'm trying to take it off of you. >> Oh, okay. >> Right here. >> Lean up against the car for me. Right there. >> Oh my. >> Forward. >> I don't have a female, so I'm going to patch you down with the back of my hand. >> Okay. >> Spread your feet apart for me. >> All right. Go ahead and have a seat. Which leg is it? >> It's this one. >> Left one. Right one. >> It's this one. >> This one? >> Yes. >> All right. I'll help you put it on or put it up in there. Are you able to twist? >> Here. Come out a second. >> Ready? All right. Bring the other foot out. All right. Sit down with your first. >> All right. Okay, we'll get you looked at, but I got to get you in the car for now. Okay. >> Okay. >> Showing no remorse for her actions, the woman only cared about her own condition. Worse, she didn't think of her family until she was caught in the act. >> Why are you guys down here? You see me? >> H I don't know, Dave. >> Okay. Anyway, um is there any way I can call my kid's father and let them know what's going on? >> Yeah, they'll let you use the phone in the jail. patient. >> Right here. Okay. >> You want to tell them what you got going on? >> Yes. >> What's going on? >> My leg. I can't move it. When you wreck the car, >> which which leg you can't move? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> I feel like my head is split like I'm going to pass out. Okay. >> What kind of necklace are you having right now? What? >> Yes, sir. So far, we got uh dizziness, some head pain, and right leg says she's just having trouble breathing. >> Okay. What happened? >> Right in the house. >> Oh, I didn't know that. I'm sorry. >> Car's down there if you can't see it. >> All right. Hey, uh Paul, go get a report back on him. Thank you. >> Okay. So, how you feeling right now? We are at my s. >> All right. I'm going have to get these and we'll be fine. Okay. Should I be concerned about any violence with her? >> At that point, another team of officers had arrived at the store to gather additional statements from employees about what had happened. In fact, one more suspect was still at large. Beyond the two who had been caught >> from the front table, we just don't know. They filled up two baskets and a tote. It was a tall, skinny black guy, right? Did he have a tote? So when I was already in the car when I came out, he was driving and the two ladies were the ones that were hustling for the car. >> Yep. Yep. So it was the three of them. >> Um yeah, the guy was driving, he's the one that took all the ceilings. They were just kind of walking around the store. >> Okay. So they did come in and out. >> Yeah, they did it multi. How many times? >> So I only saw them today once. One time two baskets. That was all I saw today. That was it. But if it's the group that we're thinking of and you have them, I will give you our um loss preventions information because there's a >> I'll need just need them and and we will help. Absolutely. I just need to see if we can get uh >> this was only a portion of what they took today. So you figured they had a basket and this right? They had two of our shopping baskets. This probably filled up the half of one that I saw and then the other one was >> the one lady I think she she threw something into the car but it was like so I wasn't paying attention except for they're all I'm trying to figure out what car they're running for so I'm not I'm not really focused on what she had the one girl Amanda she dropped this like just like that and I was like oh okay and I I don't know from there if the other lady cuz I look back so I don't know if the other lady chunked something in the car so chances are there's a lot in the car maybe from this store, maybe from other stores. >> Oh, yeah. They they they make their round. >> We're impounding it, so it'll go to our lot. >> In the end, the man and the two women were charged with grand theft, possession of anti-shoplifting devices, and resisting law enforcement officers, but remained innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Even skilled criminals face consequences. No matter how prepared or cunning they think they are, law enforcement's planning and coordination will catch up. In the next case, the couple could not even control their anger. I'll ask you one more time. >> What am I getting a handcuff for? >> I'm getting arrested for being arrested for what? >> You I'm not shoplifting. >> I got news for you. >> I'm not shoplifting, buddy. >> On December 13th, 2024, police were dispatched to Walmart after receiving reports of an active shoplifting, and the suspect was said to be a couple around 50 years old. Upon arriving, officers realized it was not a simple incident, as an argument had already erupted outside. a separate shoplift shop. You're wrong, dude. Don't come up saying don't tell me what you're doing. >> No, but no one's shopping withbody about anything. >> No, I don't care. Don't >> How much is the microwave? >> Listen to your own damn self. Don't listen here. I paid for >> listen. Go. I don't know. This is ridiculous. You must fix your barcode and check your work. What are you not What are you not understanding about? >> I said I know who you're talking to. How the [ __ ] I KNOW WHO YOU'RE TALKING TO? >> I said it was a problem for you. You can't leave the store and not even know what's going on. >> You don't even know what's going on thing. Okay. >> My [ __ ] dude. What's your problem? >> Listen, just go in the car for this. Get to more. Give me the money for the microwave. What the [ __ ] are you talking about? >> Like somebody put a sticker on the thing and did all this [ __ ] >> The woman initially seemed confused about a possible checkout error. But later she still insisted along with the man that they had paid. Afterward, she also added another story. >> Another one. >> He scanned the thing. The worker scanned the thing. Everybody did whatever. I don't care how much it was. >> Came up to I don't know what it was. This is >> okay. Well, however it goes when we scan it, that's what it is. She runs it up and she too. >> I don't know. >> I don't know. She panned on her phone. Bottom line is can we get our microwave >> right there? >> Watch out, dude. I'll go pay for what is this one? >> No, he can't. I'm the camera. >> [ __ ] the camera. Let me pay for my >> So, how much did they pay for this? >> You said it was up as a dollar. So, we owe you $79 more. >> Dollar? >> A dollar? Maybe she'll get you one, too. >> Ma'am, where the [ __ ] are we shooting? >> Okay. >> This is right. Excuse me. So sir, let me bring it up. So >> No, I I don't think you can buy this anymore. >> Yes, I can. Yes, man. I'm paying for my stuff, bro. Quit trying to make them make your decision for you. >> You guys want these guys in the store or no? >> Quit trying to start stuff. Let me just make my stuff. >> I'm good at charge. >> I'm just trying for the rest. >> No, I'll charge you both for stuff. Let's go. >> OH MY GOD. WHO STOLE WHAT? >> Nobody stole anything. >> Steal nothing, bro. >> She just Oh my lord. >> Okay. In the office. He just warm up. >> The couple gave many denials, but in a chaotic manner. And even inside the loss prevention office, the tension showed no sign of easing. >> I said, "This is crazy." >> Hands behind your back. >> For what, sir? MY DAUGHTER'S RIGHT. I HAVEN'T done nothing wrong. >> I'm going to ask you one more time. >> For what am I getting a handcuff for? >> I'm getting arrested for >> Jimmy. Oh my arrested for what? >> Hands behind your back. >> Come hand. [laughter] This is crazy, man. This is crazy. Could you please rewind? Thank you. >> If you guys can just take Relax, don't even say another word. Have a seat. I will figure it out. >> No, I don't need that. No, I have a disability. >> I have a disability, man. Let's not do this. >> Okay. Behind your back. Okay. No more. >> Let me put my money outside. My daughter's going to be fine. >> Here. Hold on. Can I just do this? You don't have to be like this, sir. You don't. I'm 50 something years old. I'm just saying you don't have to. >> I know. So treat me with a little bit of respect. >> Yo, you treat me with respect. You're too pissed off at you for causing all this crap. >> I didn't cause any crap. >> Don't do that. I am onility, man. I'm not doing anything. Relax. >> You're overdoing everything. [clears throat] >> Relax. >> Well, no. You haven't seen nothing yet. >> I know. Why are you pushing all this? At this point, the man was allowed to personally view the footage of his own checkout so he could verify for himself whether his denials were accurate. >> There's the air bed on the bottom. >> Where's it at? I scan two times. Where am I at? >> So, it asked you for the warranty for the bed. When you try to scan the microwave, it gave you that red error signifying that it wasn't scanned. [clears throat] >> It said that for the pop for the soda. >> No, it didn't. It was for the It was for the microwave. It's clear right here. Look, I'll show you. >> Okay. Well, I didn't understand what I didn't understand that. I didn't understand what you're saying. I really don't understand. So you're scanning, >> but go back to me where I'm scanning the stuff. It shows me scanning everything I tried to scan >> right here. Look, check this out. >> Okay. >> All right. You're scanning. It gives you the error. [laughter] >> You decide to say it. >> No, I didn't see this. I didn't say no. >> And then you go scan the bottom. >> No, but I'm not saying cuz I don't I don't know that the bottom is my bed. I scan my bed. I didn't try to do what you're saying. That's not true. thing that if you look at it, bro. >> Yeah, but I'm just saying you can see it, man. Do what you're saying, sir. Let me talk to you real quick. I need you to understand something. We're not calling you thieves. We're not saying that you are stealing. >> Our job is that the moment that you pass that last point of sale and you take an item that's not on your receipt. Listen, it is considered theft. I'm not calling you a a thief. All I'm saying is that the moment it passes for me, whether it's on your if if it's not on your receipt, >> I didn't look at that. I completely didn't pay that no attention, bro. I thought that >> unfortunately for you, man, >> it doesn't. >> Accepting the truth proved extremely difficult for this suspect. Even as he gradually recognized the issue, he continued to complain about everything, refusing to calm his anger. >> This is crazy. >> And like I said, when you guys told me the price of it, I get it. Okay, that ain't the price. But here, pay the price. Cuz that's what I was trying to do. My intent was to pay for what I bought. I didn't come here to steal with a kid and I'm a thief. No, man. It's not true. I'm 50 something years old, dude. I like the treatment. And you're yelling at me, dude, like I'm a kid. Irritates the hell out of me. >> Who you talking to? >> I'm talking to whoever is listening. >> That's not >> You're 50s something years old. >> Don't give me the stare down, buddy. >> Just calm down, please. >> No, cuz it hurt. >> It could irk you, but just please. >> It irks the out of me. Oh, earth the out of me too. >> What? What does >> just you do? You >> people just try to >> rationalize everything. >> That's what you think. That's what you're doing. You think you're doing that. >> You think you you developed that method of shoplifting on your own? >> You I'm not shoplifting. >> I got news for you. >> I'm not shoplifting, buddy. I don't appreciate it. You're making accusations. >> I know. You're 50some years old. >> So what? What does that mean? Whoopy-doo. >> In fact, after the police reviewed information on these individuals, they learned that this was not the first theft they had committed. >> So, everybody is clear. Randy, you do have uh some history of organized retail theft, though. Saw that. >> This is a trespass warning saying that you cannot come back to this particular Walmart for a period of 3 years. Correct. I don't know what he wanted, but I mean I think >> it's better than the It's better than the alternative cuz the alternative is his is permanent, I think. Right. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Good. Sign here. That's just saying I'm giving you a copy. You don't have to sign it if you don't want it. >> There's not that says that I can't come here for 3 years. >> For 3 years. It's standard. Everybody that comes through this office gets one of those. >> No. Theirs is it's particular to this Walmart. I'm going be honest with you. >> The one of ours is for every Walmart. So you guys can still shop at a different Walmart >> just until we get this court [ __ ] handled cuz I do want to come back here cuz this [ __ ] is all important. >> I understand that. >> If you decide to break this trespass, you'll probably be facing more charges. If you decide to come back to Walmart and steal as little as I can. >> In [snorts] the end, the couple was charged with theft. Denying wrongdoing escalates conflict. Even faced with evidence, the suspect refused to take responsibility. Stay calm. cooperate and admit mistakes to avoid making things worse. But worse, this woman was so professional in her scheme that she even had help from someone else. >> Who is Who is Cheryl Willard? >> That's my teacher. >> Who is it? >> Is she the one who made the payment then? >> Um driving suspended and retail. On July 31st, 2024, police received a call from a woman named Carol reporting an unexpected $1,500 charge on her credit card for no reason. Around the same time, a Mercedes dealership reported a woman with a history of fraud returning to pay for services via Apple Pay. Here's what unfolded next at the scene. >> So, can you tell me what's going on? >> So, we got uh a credit card dispute for fraudulent charge on Friday. >> Okay. for customer whose car was actually in for service. >> Okay. >> As of now. >> Okay. >> Um so I was working through that car owner claimed fraud. Names didn't match that whole shebang. This morning she paid online and it wasn't 5 minutes later we got a call from a lady in North Carolina saying, "Hey, you just hit my credit card for 1534.92 or whatever it was. I live in North Carolina. Never been in Illinois. none of this drives. So we went looking the invoice dollar amount and the payment match that invoice for that same client again. >> So >> so she was in in June that credit card got disputed as fraud. >> So her car Okay. So she's essentially using she's done this twice now where it's been >> this is the second time where it's it appears to be stolen credit cards >> credit cards to pay for service for her actual vehicle. >> Correct. Correct. It's her vehicle. Okay. But there the name like the one in June the name didn't match. >> Uh the one today I won't I won't see the name till it batches at night. >> But a lady called from North Carolina gave me phone number name. If you need anything feel free to call me. I'll dispute it when it posts but I got to wait till it post. >> True. >> In fact the address of the defrauded woman matched the address of the woman who had called the police earlier. At this point, the dealership informed them that they only accepted cash and the suspect claimed she had already paid using her sister Skyler's card. >> I don't know. I will call her, but that didn't have nothing to do with me. You know, they have her name and information. When I dropped it off, they know that. But they could have just told me that. You know, they calling the police and stuff. This I could have figured this out. >> I think I think it might depend on how the car got declined. Sometimes those show up as just a decline charge, like your car doesn't have money on it. And sometimes it shows up as >> You should have just said that. >> I know. But sometimes it shows up as fraud, which they won't tell you that because if someone's trying to defraud them, they're not going to tell you. >> Okay. >> Right. Like that's why we I take calls here all the time for these. >> Oh, really? >> But you can't like still they're still out money. So you can't take the car. We got to we got to resolve this. Otherwise, you're taking a car without paying for it. There'd be a service. >> Okay. So let's do this. >> I have to get to work. So how fast is this? >> The quickest way is going to go back there, too. Cuz what I don't want to see happen is that if you were to drive off with the car under the understanding of payment, then they start looking at this. It's like a theft of services cuz they still don't have any money. >> If they whatever they don't figure out, I will pay for it, but I'm going to need my car. This is my car. >> Okay. >> If you wanted to pay if you wanted to pay for the whole thing and they get square with her later, you can do that, too. That's actually probably the quickest way to get out of here. The police recovered documents containing all the information linked to the card she had used, including her sister and a person named Carara. From that point, multiple family identities emerged, but things didn't go as she had planned, and the officer's suspicion kept growing. It >> was a longer conversation, so we might want to go inside. I'm just being I'm being honest with you. >> I got to get to work. What? Why can't call her? >> I know. No, Jasmine, you're the one that's here with this. We need We need to talk. >> I don't Look, I got to get to work. I'm not sitting here dealing with that. I'm not going to lie. I don't have nothing to do with it. I got hurt. >> Jasmine, I'm I'm telling you right now, if you if you drive away, I promise there's going to be a criminal charge against you. >> For what? >> Because I'm looking at the documents that they have and they're showing me it's way more complicated than what you were explaining to me. >> So, let's come back. What's your sister's name? >> I'm Who is Who is Cara Willard? >> That's my teacher. >> Who is it? >> My auntie. >> Is she the one who made the payment then? >> I think she used my auntie card. Okay, that's does your auntie know? >> Here, let me I'm going to tell you exactly what happened, okay? Like this is just moment by moment. You come here for the service. >> You you have your sister come and pay for the card. This card gets used and then if Cara will your auntie. >> Yeah. >> She calls here and then says my card was just used here. I don't know why. >> Oh, she must tell. >> So she said this is a fraudulent transaction. She called here right away. >> That's why we had to resolve it. Look, I'm telling you, there's a simple answer to this. >> To confirm the truth, the officers called Cara, and it turned out she had no idea who the supposed relative even was. >> Okay, Cara, I So, we're we're here at the dealership. The car was used for someone that was actually picking up a vehicle. Do you know anyone in Illinois at all? >> I No, I don't know anybody. And it's so It's kind of weird. Apple carts don't have Apple. So say like you have a physical card. It doesn't have a card number on it or anything. And you have to have like that person's access to their Apple ID and everything. So it's kind of weird that the charge was used in person and not online. >> Well, it was it it was an online purchase, but it was someone who was making their payment online. They said that a family member was making a payment. That's why that's why I'm trying to put all this together. Oh yeah, someone would have had to got my online my my virtual corn through Apple. They would have had to get that information. I haven't made a purchase on that card in a little while. >> All right, Cara. So, it sounds like you're going to probably obviously you need to make the report with your local department as well if you needed to, but you're kind of involved in this police report too at the same time right now. How do you spell your last name? And also they um because I had to reset my Apple ID, all of my information, Apple made me and they um >> so they also changed my card number and everything because of all this just so it's not used again. >> So it became clear that Cara had nothing to do with the suspect. And as time went on, the woman's story collapsed under its own contradictions, especially when she started mixing up the very names she had invented. Okay. Your sister, where is she at right now? >> She lives at Quincy. >> Okay. Is this her? Is this her driver's license? >> Okay. How come there's no record of that? >> I I ran this driver's license. There's no record on her license at all. I can't I can't even find the name. Well, look, >> you're driving her car because >> this is the way it involves you, too. So, okay. And how do you And you pay her. >> No, I don't pay her. I have like a app that I pay through the Colonel like five something a month. >> Where's Where's Where's Cara live? >> Who? >> Where's Cara? Kira, that's her answer. I don't know. She just I called her in front of the other officer. I >> I think I think we might be having some crosswives cuz I don't think who I talked to on the phone that reported their car. >> And that's what I'm saying. I think she lying to me. >> Who? >> Skyler. Skyler. Because I asked her like, "So when I send you the money, who car did you use? Yours or your boyfriend?" But what did you do, Skylar? Don't lie to me cuz the police is here looking at me like I'm crazy. >> You're in the hot seat right now. >> And I'm in the hot seat. Yeah. [laughter] And you don't And I'm grown. Don't lie to me about nothing cuz it's not that serious. She like, "I I swear I use TTK blah blah." So I said, "So why are they saying that it's a lie?" Like I said, I can come pay that Friday, but y'all going to have to do that other >> At this point, the officers told her to call the sister she claimed was named Skyler, and that phone call only raised more red flags. The hesitant voice, the awkward pauses, and the shaky statements from the person on the other end all deepened the suspicion. >> Hi, >> Skyler. What is going on? Cuz they trying to say that >> let's look here. You're you're on speaker phone with the police right now. Neighborville police. Is this Skyler? >> Yes. >> Skyler, what's your last name? >> What's going on? >> Skyler, what's your last name? >> Girl, tell us my last name. >> Johnson, how do you spell it? >> J O H N S O N. >> Okay. Skyler, is it S K Y L A R? >> Yes. sister's here at the car dealership cuz she was trying to pick up a car. She is here because you told her that it was getting paid for it, right, Jasmine? >> Yeah, she did. >> And the payment was then called in by somebody else saying that my card was used here and that person doesn't live in this state. So, right now, your sister's sitting in the hot seat for this and she's pointing to you. >> So, what did you do? Did you What? What? What is it that you did? Just you want me to take y'all speaker? >> My boyfriend I use my boyfriend card. I don't know. I What's the problem? >> What What's your boyfriend's name? >> Skyler. I don't have time for this. You about to have me in trouble for some stuff you did. I sent you the 750 and I trusted you with my money. If I knew you was going to do some crazy stuff, I wouldn't even did all that. So, just tell what's going on. Just Just say it. I mean I I don't you got me looking crazy. I don't have time for this. So what did you do? Who car did you use? >> I'm telling I use my boyfriend card. >> You didn't use your boyfriend. >> Skyler, you didn't use your boyfriend's card. I know that. >> Compared with the police report, every detail, the phone number, the Apple ID, the identification she provided completely failed to match. It was obvious this call had been thrown together in a panic with no real planning behind it. This was a blatant case of using a fraudulent card to pay for vehicle services, but her stubborn denial still didn't end. >> The other thing that adds into this is that none of the birth dates that you or Skyler gave to me come back to anybody. >> I never gave you What you mean I gave you my birthday? >> Oh, when she was No, Skyler. Skyler's birthday. >> Listen, I just like I told >> you told Skyler to give me the real birthday on the phone. You said it out loud what it was. It's the one that's on her driver's license. It was used when we bought the car. >> No, I don't know. I her birthday a couple days after mine. Look sir, I'm not trying to give y'all no problem. What she done did with her car before it was mine. I don't know what she done did. That has nothing to do with me. I just know I paid her. I came to drop it off because I done messed up the tire or she messed it up. >> I'm just going to tell you like they are pulling every bit of financial out of here. They're pulling everything, 1500. I'm not paying for nothing else. >> We're past that. We're past that. >> So then what is it? I didn't do anything as far AS WHAT SHE GOT GOING ON with this car. THIS IS NOT MY FAULT. >> I'M TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW. I'm telling you right now, if there is if there is stuff about this that is fabricated or false or whatever it is, the it's going to collapse. It's going to collapse when they get this off. >> Listen, and that's on her. You hear me? That is on completely on her. I don't My daddy last name. >> Jasmine, when I when I ran your driver's license, it shows me the last places that it ran and I saw that Will County probation ran. Are you on probation for them at all? >> Yep. >> Okay. For what? um driving on suspended and retail. >> She was finally put in handcuffs and she was charged with multiple counts of credit card fraud, identity deception, and attempting to obtain services through a stolen financial instrument. Lies only dig a deeper hole. In any financial investigation, honesty from the start is the only way to avoid harsher charges. >> I said if I were going to take the orange, I would have just took it. I wouldn't come to my job just TO TAKE IT. MY ARM IS IN HERE, BRO. SHUT THE OUT PREGNANT. I was you, bro. >> On November 7th, 2025, police were dispatched to Walmart after receiving a report that a suspect named Cararissa had attempted to take items out of the store without scanning them. By the time officers arrived, she had already been escorted to the loss prevention [music] office. >> If you didn't ring it up, that is considered stealing. Especially if you walked out of the store with it. It doesn't matter. >> Walked out the store. I was in I was in the dome. I was in the job. >> Okay. >> I was in the >> And you guys are ready to go for press charges on her and everything. Perfect. >> Okay. I'm just making sure you didn't already do anything wrong. >> What's your name? >> Hey, Cararissa. >> Hey, Cararissa. >> If everything's [music] go escalated. >> Hey, Cararissa. >> I don't have a right to go to court. If anything like >> Hey, Carissa. >> Hey, Carissa. You're pressing charges on me for no reason. I'm telling you that I ain't steal those products on purpose. >> The woman completely ignored the presence of the officers and asserted her rights to the staff, forcing the police to step forward to address her. But even then, handling the situation was far from easy. >> Carissa, I'm going to read you your Miranda rights real quick. Okay. >> So, you guys taking me to jail because I'm telling you that I didn't steal those items. I'm trying to tell you I didn't steal those items and Walmart's supposed to do that. Ain't supposed to ask. They even ask me. They even ask regular people. >> I will get your side of the story. Okay. I just got to read you this first before I can start asking questions and talking to you. Okay. Does that make sense? >> Do you understand each of these rights? >> Do you understand each of these rights that I've read to you? >> No. No. I'm not on your time. >> No. >> Do you understand your rights? Yes. Okay. Do you want to talk to me? >> I'm trying to tell you about this. >> He's not a cop. I'm a cop. Okay. Do you want to talk to me about this stuff or not? >> What are we going to talk about? Are you just going to just tell me my >> all of the incidents? >> That's what I'm Okay, that's good. You want to talk to me about stuff? You just want to tell me things that you just told me. Now, I got to go. >> No, I'm going to get your side of the story is what I'm saying. Do you wish to speak with me? >> Yes. I don't want to speak with you. Not in this room. >> What? in the same room as someone who just pressed charges on me and I'm telling her the same thing I just told I'm going to tell you. It doesn't make sense, you know. >> Okay, listen. This is where we're doing the interview. So, at the end of the day, I don't really care what you say. We're doing the interview in here. Okay. >> Okay. Do you wish to speak with me about this? >> Yes, >> you do want to talk to me. Okay, cool. Her insistence on her rights made even reading the Miranda warning a challenge. Immediately afterward, she didn't hesitate to voice every denial and share her side of the story. >> I'm not stealing. That's what I'm trying to tell you guys. >> Okay? >> I'm telling y'all that the stuff that me and my boyfriend rung up, the stuff that they said that we didn't take out the the bag or whatever that the lady said, "Okay, do you want do you want to keep this? Do you want to keep?" Nobody asked me that. >> Did you ever under ring any of this stuff? >> No. Talk about just put in the bag, >> right? So, you scan one thing but then slip another item in. Did you Did you ever do that? >> No. I She said that I did that with the shirt, but I could have sworn in my work from pulling up everything together. >> So, what what about the watermelon with the orange and then you didn't just scan >> the watermelon with the orange? I literally clicked the look up item. The look up thing. You don't have to scan the orange just to look it up. >> I know how that works. Okay. I worked in a grocery store. I understand what you're saying. Here's the thing. Okay. And she said that it's only 4749 cents and I can get that for free off my week. So I got the blood. >> Mhm. So but that's you understand what I'm saying though, right? >> Because these receipts are going to show the record of what you purchased. trying to lowkey take me to jail because they trying to tell me or she trying to press charges because I said I can see once all this f further goes on I can go to court to see why why was my part not >> okay here's your transaction here okay right from the incident on the 4th of October okay this shows watermelon one item one singular item >> okay why can I just pay for this stuff and you guys telling me that I took a orange like that's just an orange Okay. >> And then those shirts [snorts] and this is not and this is not on that receipt. So you did not pay for that. But that was taken. >> Okay. I didn't just Okay, I'm just going to take this. I didn't just Oh, I'm going to steal from my job. >> According to the report, the woman was actually an employee of the store. Yet, she committed this wrongdoing. She eventually admitted to it, but only after the police exposed all her denials. >> So, orange, that's 49 cents, >> right? But you just slip that in the bag and then there's all the other items. >> Okay. I'm literally on the phone and probably have so a lot going on that same day that I didn't okay it up and I >> just didn't ring up the orange. Like y'all just really getting me about that's still theft. >> Okay. I didn't mean to take it. It's I didn't I would meant to take it. >> I thought I >> I meant to grabbing it that I didn't accidentally ring it up, but I didn't just Okay, I'm just going to take this and put it in the bag. >> That's not what I did. I would not ring up anything. I would just walk out the store like regular people do. I wouldn't just ring a few things up and just take the rest. Like what's the point of me going in the store, buy anything if I'm just going to take it? >> So, you weren't stealing. >> I weren't stealing. I was buying stuff. So, why would I just >> But you just said that >> I just said that if I'm going to buy stuff, why would y'all assume I'm stealing it? >> But listen, what you just told me on body camera about the orange, >> right? about the orange >> taking it. >> I said if I were going to take the orange, I would have just took it. I wouldn't come to my job just to take it. >> There was not a shred of shame in her admission, as if it were an obvious fact for her. And it didn't stop there. Police continued confronting her with statements about stolen items, making it clear it wasn't just about the orange. >> So, you forgot to ring up the orange, so it's still theft. >> Of course. >> Okay, perfect. Thank you. >> I forgot to ring up the orange. >> Okay. I'm literally on the phone talking on the phone as I'm bringing up stuff. >> Okay. >> Like what the heck? >> And those items, if you bring up some other items that's stolen, those other items, those were there. I paid for those items. Exactly how I got >> ramen noodles. >> Exactly how I got >> a 47 cent pack of ramen noodles. >> You got here ramen t-shirts. So, you just accidentally forget to scan a big box of t-shirts. >> I've been forgetting to scan a lot of stuff. >> Oh, that perfect. Thank you for just admitting to everything. >> NO, LIKE LITERALLY NOT JUST AT THIS JOB. I'M NOT STEALING. THIS HAPPENED AT A different job. They watched me and they say, "Hey, ma'am, you didn't freaking pay for that. You just scanned this and you didn't freaking dang put that back. YOU JUST TOLD ME TO TAKE IT OFF THE THING." I'M LIKE, "OH, I'M SORRY." >> CARISSA, LISTEN. Do you have anything else? Do you have anything else you want to say about any of these incidents? >> Why Why would I have to say anything else? Because you just said you just admitted to everything. >> No, you're bringing up I admitted to stealing that Walmart period. >> You just said I've been FORGETTING >> FOR ABOUT EVERYTHING IN GENERAL, NOT JUST BUYING stuff at the store. >> Shush. Shush. >> You're putting my words together. Do you want to >> doing bro? This [ __ ] is pissing me off. >> Do you want to talk to me like an adult? >> I don't want to talk to you cuz you're talking TO ME RUDE AND YOU'RE NOT TALKING TO ME NORMAL. YOU TALK TO HER NORMAL THEN YOU PHRASING YOUR VOICE AT ME. BEFORE I EVEN STARTED TALKING TO YOU, YOU EVEN STARTED TALKING TO ME RUDELY. >> CARISSA, >> that's not how you talk to somebody. Teresa, >> from the very beginning, she used her rights to make things difficult for the police. And even when exposed, she brazenly acted as if she had done nothing wrong. By the time she was arrested, her words had escalated even further. >> You don't have to hold me like that, please. I'm pregnant. You start being like that, I will press charges on you. What's your name? No, for real. I will press charges on you, bro. They're being rude, man. They really being overly aggressive with me. And he Get this police officer name for real. >> Cuz he just bent my arm all the way back to the priest. Oh, we're not playing. >> No, you did. That's why if I'm still going to have the same arm when I get out of jail or when I go to jail. You just bent my arm all the way back to where it just felt like my finger was I couldn't even feel my hand. >> No, I did not. >> You did? Cuz I can't feel my finger on this arm. >> Exactly what you did. Like you you you did the same thing to my >> Do you have anything on you that's going to stick me? >> No, I don't want to poke. >> Okay. >> Being all rude and >> we're going to go and hang that up. >> Yeah, he's going to hang up. Let me get Can you um Peterson, can you get my purse out my out the out the break room, bro? Cuz you being rude as >> Can Can you stop moving for me? >> You can if you did ME RIGHT. MAYBE I DID YOU GET IN my jacket. PLEASE DON'T DO THAT. >> I'M SEARCHING. [screaming] >> YOU'RE GOING TO PISS ME THE OFF. YOU'RE PULLING MY JACKET WHEN MY ARM IS IN HERE, BRO. CHILL THE OUT. PREGNANT. I was you, bro. WHY IS YOU PULLING MY JACKET WHEN I SEARCHING IT? THAT'S WHY I TURNED IT OFF. YOU SHOULD HAVE CHARGED ME BEFORE YOU PUT MY CUFF ON. >> THAT MAKES SENSE, BRO. >> NO, IT DOESN'T. >> YES, IT DOES. >> You're not a cop. >> I don't give a You sitting THERE MOVING MY JACKET ALL AROUND MY ARM AND BENDING MY [ __ ] YOU F TO GET THE REAL REACTION OUT OF ME. >> I'M TRYING TO BE COOL. Straight the UP. YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE RUDE WITH ME WITH MY BELLY IN MY STOMACH. MY BABY IN MY STOMACH. STRAIGHT the >> Is this her stuff, too, or is this just Okay, I'm you guys. >> And I have the right to get your name. What's your name? K. real. >> Her claim of trying to stay calm [music] was completely false. She had been tense from the start, using every possible excuse, including her pregnancy, to obstruct the police. >> Take this off me, bro. >> No. >> Yes, bro. >> Yes, bro. >> I need you. >> Take this. NO, CUZ HE'S HOW IS YOU TAKING ME? AND YOU TAKING MY POCKET, BUT YOU NOT picking this. You How you got my jacket halfway on, halfway off, bro? And you're charging me. >> How you take my pockets BACK MY POCKETS? YOU DON'T CHARGE MY POCKETS. TAKE MY [ __ ] OFF THE CUFFS ON ME. THEY CUFF CAN'T EVEN GET AROUND. YOU GOT TO GO to make no sense. Do it. No, I'M NOT GOING TO PUT NO CUFFS ON YOU AND THEN TRY TO TAKE OUT YOUR JACKET. NO, >> YOU'RE NOT GOING TO KEEP screaming like that. Okay. >> No, you're being rude. >> He's the only one being calm, bro. That [ __ ] rude. I'M PREGNANT AS HELL. IF I FIND SOMEBODY, IF I BE YOUR WIFE IS IN THE STORE, YOU WON'T WANT NOBODY being rude to her, bro. That [ __ ] rude. >> You guys got like a bag >> like, bro, this is rude. >> We'll be at the front. Okay. This way. >> Bro, >> you supposed to do this to me before I even got outside. Bro, you said you will. When we got to the car and now you're still not doing it. >> You're still not doing it, bro. >> In the end, she was charged with retail theft and resisting arrest. Using rights or personal excuses to obstruct police can backfire. Even small mistakes like forgetting to scan an item carry serious consequences. Even being candid, these thieves believe they were merely toying with the law. >> Turn is your car off? >> Let me get both your license. You guys were both possibly IDed for a retail pack. >> Yes, this is actually not from our store. This looks like from Target. >> I think this is bad body. >> On September 11th, 2025, police received a report from Ross after a theft had occurred and the suspects fled immediately. The moment they were pulled over, the suspects had no idea what was coming, only for their smug smiles to vanish instantly. >> How's it going today? Turn is your car off. >> Let me get both your license. You guys are both possibly IDed for a retail pack. >> I'm just going to be straight up, man. Give me Give me the items back. >> Give me your ID first. I want your ID, too. Is there anything else in the car? have any weapons, drugs, anything like that? Nothing. >> Do you have a valid driver's license? >> No, I posted getting stuff situated. >> Okay. So, do is it suspended? Revoked? >> Yeah, it's suspended. >> Can you just put your bag back there, please? All right, sir. Step out of the vehicle for me. >> Let's go behind here. Go. I don't want us in the the road. Put your hands behind your back. You're being detained right now. Okay. Oh, >> you could leave it right here. We don't want you accessing it right now. We're doing a investigation. So, if you if you like it in your pocket, it's not going to be access. Okay, that's fine. >> They had no awareness of wrongdoing while driving on a suspended license and treated the theft as if it were a game, readily admitting to stealing. And the stolen goods included toiletries, clothing, and perfumes. Did you make it in there? >> I'd love to seize the car. >> Yeah, we can seize the car. >> Okay. >> All right. I'll be right back. >> Shannon, too, if they if they damaged anything cuz you guys went through that new felony, so it at this point if they damaged stuff with the magnets, anything over 500 CDP is felony. And then especially for >> they don't want to sign anything >> that and if there's any like theft detection devices we can know. >> I asked them >> how' they get >> through in the back and left. So >> did you pay for anything? How many bags did you take? >> How many bags it? >> So there's multiple bags in there. >> No, but I been that's been in the car. But I'm talking about we just went to Ross. >> What's which bag did you use? >> The Ross bag that was in the back seat. That Ross bag. Two bags full. >> I know. But the other one been in the car too as well. That's bad. The bite was I been here. But the dove you see six um dove like right there. >> The dove. That's everything that you guys stole today >> up out of there. Yeah. >> Okay. >> But I've been here the rest of that stuff in the trunk. But what we just hid in the back seat, that's what we just got up. >> And you have a suspended deal, right? >> Their overconfidence and willingness to admit guilt came from thinking they would only face a citation. But officers discovered a theft tool during the vehicle search, escalating the situation far beyond what they expected. >> Uh, we're doing things a little bit differently now, man. You're going back to the station. Whose car is that? >> Is your car you the owner of it? >> Okay, it's getting towed, just so you know. >> Yeah, this is all stolen. >> All this is from heading to >> Who knows if this is from there. >> Yeah, but I mean like we we could seize this all as evidence. I mean like right like it's and these are all >> this is all Ross 31 I have another bag from the trunk >> put your seat belt on >> I checked our stuff we only have one from yesterday they don't match the description for that one for the remainder of the Okay. >> What's wrong? >> I was trying to lift my pants. >> All right. I'll take these cuffs off and you're just going to have a seat right here. Okay. >> I know. Almost. There you go. There you go. >> 101. It's going to be a positive idea on the subject from Bath and Body Works. outside, right? >> Have him take his hoodie off, too. >> At this point, an officer went to the store to return the stolen items and verify what had happened. >> Confirming that the actual value of the goods was far from trivial. >> Thought they used a used a magnet device. Like, we have them right now in handcuffs, detained. I'm just going to call one of my guys to let them know that they utilized a magnet. >> Yeah. Let me call >> cuz they told us they didn't. And it helps >> you add one cuz I can show you in the camera too if you want to see. >> Yeah, I'd love to. Yeah. Um, is there anything else in here? >> It's your bag. >> No, that's from came with that. >> All right. Tell me exactly what happened. So, cuz I'm taking the report. >> Um, well, I was waiting for my closing cashier and I was take I was about to take my meal and I saw her like come in and like the front. I was like, "Oh, let me go to the front and tell her that I'm going to take my meal and make sure like let the other cashier also know." And once I go up there, I see them walk in. They already look suspicious cuz they stared at us. And then they give us like a look like to see if no one was no one was watching. And I was like, "Okay, like I don't want to think anything bad. I'm going to stay here and like see if they don't they're not going to do anything." >> Okay. >> And then that's when I see the guy going by the perfumes where he grabbed this one by ladies and then he goes and walks by ladies shoes, I guess, to like just walk around to see like if no one was watching. And then that's when he goes by like um by the ladies department where all the apparel is and then he goes like by the men's and then that's when he goes back again by the ladies. I think that's where he grabbed all of this by beauty and that was it. And I went by back to the office. I checked to see if he was not doing anything bad. And then that's when he took out the magnet and took out the >> that's when you saw it on the camera >> and that's what I call. >> It's all good. Yeah. Is this one for me? >> Yes, that's for you. Or as soon as you want >> and then it's No, no. You're good. And then sale. So it's >> so it's 969. >> But what is that? Before tax? >> Yes, before tax. >> The entirety of the stolen goods pointed to illegal resale as the motive. And notably, their audacious behavior was evident through the staff's detailed account. As I was walking toward the fragrances, the young lady like she made eye contact with me, but she looked really like suspicious. >> Okay. >> So, I was like, [music] "Okay." Didn't think anything of it, but I don't know if she knew that I worked here cuz I had my work bag. >> So, as I'm going through the frag I'm going past the jewelry counter over by the men's fragrances. She's in between the the fragrances between the men's side and the women's side. Okay. >> And she hand her uh the guy uh a container. >> Okay. >> And he put it in the bag. >> Got it. >> I was like, "Oh, okay." So, didn't think anything of it, but I ran to the back and I was at that time I was looking for Noeli or uh Amelio to let them know. I was like, "Hey, check the cameras." But at that by the time I got back there, she had already witnessed it. >> Got it. Dwelling. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> So I was like, "Oh, okay." She's like, "Yeah, I'm going to call the cops." I was like, "Yeah, call the cops." Cuz >> they they don't care. So that was it. >> Okay. >> Both of the suspects were charged with retail theft, possession of theft tools, and contributing to the criminal scheme. Treating theft like a game and underestimating law enforcement only escalates consequences, turning what seemed like a minor offense into serious. In the next case, the woman even mispronounced her own name twice. >> Not me. >> What did I do? >> On June 20th, 2023, police responded to a report from Target about an ongoing theft. A woman had walked out with merchandise without paying. As officers approached, she was still loading the goods into her car, unaware of their presence. >> I'm Officer Robinson with the traffic police department. I'm conducting a theft investigation. You're now free to leave this time. >> Conducting a theft investigation. >> You paying them in. >> What's that? >> They paying them. >> Someone else is paying for the merchandise that you walked out with. >> No, listen. How did I walk out with your hands? >> We're going to do this. >> Relax this hand. Hey. Hey. Listen to me. Listen to me. >> While we investigate, I'll put your handcuffs. And if we're wrong because listen, you're pulling your hand. >> But listen, >> no, no, no, no. >> You listen. First, put you in handcuffs. Make it safe for me. Then we look into the details. Thank you. >> Okay. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Just cuz I put you in handcuffs doesn't mean you're getting charged. It means it gives me time to investigate. Explain that you walked out with stuff I'm not paying for. >> We'll work it out for you. We're not just going to take you to jail. Give us a minute. Wait, can you stay 1012? Yes, >> thank you. >> The officers struggled to get her to cooperate. But the difficulty didn't end there. When they began questioning her personal information, they grew suspicious that she was deliberately [music] concealing her identity. >> Do you have an ID with you? >> Huh? >> Do you have an ID with you? >> Did you drive here? >> Huh? >> Did you drive here? >> No, my friend drove here. >> Your friend drove here? Yes. >> What's your first name? >> Tikica Wilson. >> Spell it. S H E M K A W I L O >> Don't turn it off. I'm sorry. >> Whoa. >> We couldn't turn it off. >> Don't do that. >> I'm I'm sorry. >> Yeah, I turned the vehicle off. We couldn't turn it off >> because we don't have the the key is in in in the in the girl's pocket that >> Don't worry about the car. Spell your last name again. >> Wilson. >> W I L S O N. >> What's your date of birth, Miss Wilson? >> Go ahead. >> 1202. >> 12:02. What? >> 903. >> You ever been arrested before? >> Yes. For what? >> It's been a long >> for what? >> So, I'm just standing like >> So, you've been arrested. How old are you? >> I'm 30. >> Okay. >> Her car was still running without the key. And her explanation was full of holes, raising many red flags. Let's see how she continued to justify herself when questioned about this suspicious situation. >> Having these rights in mind, you want to talk to me about what's going on here tonight. >> I want to know what's going on. We went shopping. I had to go home shopping for my baby. from my hook and >> I my friend was in there still paying for it and I came out here because the car was still running and I wanted to make sure the car was still okay and she was in there paying for it. >> You walked in business with your car still running? >> Yes. You know, you know that's how cars get stolen, right? >> But I can't cut it off here. I didn't have the key. >> How was it running if you don't have the key? >> It's a push to start but >> Yeah, but the key has to stay in the car for >> Yeah, but it didn't. It was still in his pocket. >> Whose pocket? and my friend parked it. My boyfriend parked it. >> Where is he at? >> He's at He's at the house, >> but I was already in >> the car. The car doesn't stay on unless the key is in the car. >> It was already in the middle of I was already in the middle of driving. It say no key like when you're driving. So when you turn the car off, it's going to automatically just lock. >> Okay. Well, I guess we'll have to call your boyfriend to come bring the key. >> You just going to have to That's why I came to the car and just started putting stuff in the car cuz she was in the pantry. So, whose merchandise is this? >> It's me and hers. >> So, you're sharing. So, is she paying for all of it? Do you guys split the bill? >> We split I s I sent some money to our cash app and we splitting the bill. >> So, you're paying her through cash app and she's paying for everything inside >> and her own car. >> All right. Well, I guess we'll find out. >> Were you inside? >> How was your day? >> How's my day? >> It's been extremely busy. I had to chase a burglar. At this point, officers approached the friend she mentioned to clarify the situation. And even she seemed puzzled by the circumstances, revealing clear deception in the suspect's statements. >> Are you all done? I'm with your friend outside. Have you paid for everything yet? Are you ready to go? >> Okay. Are you still working on that? >> Yeah, we'll save this one for last. >> What's wrong? >> Um, well, your friend walked out with hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise that didn't pay for anything. So, >> I mean, that's what we're doing now. >> You're paying for what? >> She's paying for >> Yes. That's what so what I'm doing to figure out what's going on. >> How are you paying for all that stuff >> with a car? What do you mean? >> You scanned clothing items. >> I was scanning her. >> Okay. >> And she went over there. >> She went over there and scanned stuff. Okay. She didn't pay for any of it. >> She know she didn't give anything to Target in exchange for hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise. She just walked out with it. Her story is that you're paying for all of the stuff that she walked >> out. She has she has her own card. I don't know. Okay. If like I don't know. >> So, she's supposed to pay for her stuff and you're supposed to pay for your stuff. >> Well, our clothes are together, but the baby formula. So, that's someone gave her the wig card to go to the store to get that. So, I don't know about wig. >> Are you paying for it? >> Or if if you are, then it's already scanned. Unless I'm misunderstanding. >> She's trying to pay for it, but his card is recently hacked or something, >> right? So, she was trying to get her friend's card so she could >> and I just literally started calling her and you walked up to me >> on her friend >> and you telling me this and that's all this like >> right >> what's going on? >> Well, what's going on is $1,400. Is any of that stuff still here? >> That's what I'm saying. >> All of it's in the car. >> It was never live in the car. That's what I'm saying. It's >> Oh, it's in the car. No, it ain't. It's in the car. >> Okay. Well, she should be in here. Returning to the woman, the officers explained what had happened, but she continued her deception, still fooling herself. >> You failed to understand what we explained to you of her. Thought >> she was paying for it. >> She didn't though. And she she told us she had no intention of paying for these items. She thought you were paying for them. That's what she just told us. Meaning you stole these items. >> Well, Wilson, >> is there an I in there somewhere? Cuz you spelled S H E M K A. That's That's Chemco Wilson. >> Is there an I in there? >> Huh? >> S H E M K A. >> It's S H A >> S H A S H A. >> Shemica. S H E M K A. K. >> You don't know how to spell your own name, so you're lying about your name. >> I'm not lying. I'm just asking like y'all sounds like you're lying. No, I'm not. I know it is hot, Miss Wilson. I'm in a full polyester uniform with a gun belt and a a vest on. >> Uh Trey, what's the last name? >> Or I'm sorry, the uh date of birth 12292. >> No, it ain't. >> Yeah, I didn't think so. >> What? >> Said your birthday is not 12292. >> Yes, it isn't. >> Said it's not. It's not. You got warrants or something? >> No, I don't. >> You know, we're very good at our job, right? She still refused to clearly reveal her information and worse, her next actions brought severe consequences, implicitly confirming her wrongdoing. >> So, here's the deal. This is how it works. If you continue to conceal your identity from us until we get to the jail and then we find out who you are when we get to the jail cuz we scan your fingerprints and they tell us, "Yeah, this is so and so. We arrest you for Stop. Stop. Are you kidding me right now? >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. >> Not me like that. >> Not you out here. I don't want to go to jail. I don't want to go to jail. >> Yeah, cuz you got warrants. >> Don't. I just don't want to go to jail. Y'all are going to be nasty. Y'all going to let me go. >> Now you're going in the car. You got to be kidding me right now. >> Unbelievable. >> Oh my god. My baby. >> Stop. I got her. Era. I got her. >> Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. >> That was ridiculous. What are you doing? >> In the end, the woman was charged with grand theft and resisting without violence. Attempting to hide her identity and deceive the officers only made the situation worse. Cooperating fully from the start could have prevented serious legal consequences. >> But you're on probation. >> They're not going to release me. >> I don't know. I'm not sure how much you >> I like how every cop wants to be rude to me when I'm being honest and then they let the person that did the most. >> On July 25th, 2025, police received a report of a theft at a Kohl's store. The suspects, a man and a woman, had allegedly fled after committing the crime. When officers arrived at the scene, they found two individuals matching the description in the parking lot. Let's see what happened next. >> Hi, >> can you step out? Hey, my man. I saw you. Can you come back here? >> Yeah, come back here. All right. You know why we might be here? I don't know. >> Okay. Um, you're on camera taking stuff. Okay. Um, >> I think I met you. >> That's fine. Uh, I didn't say anything's going on right now. Can you go talk to my partner over here for one second? >> Over here. >> What's up, man? You good? Can you step out? >> Were you just in cold, man? >> Yeah. Be straight up with me. >> I'm not going to lie. What happened? >> I didn't take nothing. I didn't call nothing. >> Okay. >> So, I was with my friend. >> She's your friend. >> All right. I didn't take any. >> The man denied any wrongdoing even though the officers hadn't accused him yet. He obviously knew why they were there. >> The woman responded the same way, offering a denial of her own. >> Okay. Do you know why we might be trying to talk to you? >> No. >> Okay. Please don't try to play dumb. >> They call for everything. Okay. You know why we might be going to call then? >> No. >> Okay. Were you trying to take stuff from Kohl's? >> No. I didn't have a wallet. That's why I felt I only had cash and I only had $6. So, what what do you mean by that? I just put gloves on when I talk to people. Don't worry about what I'm doing right now. Okay. So, what do you mean you only had $6? >> Cuz I was going to buy me something, but I didn't have no money. >> So, did you put it back? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Where would it be in the store? >> Be by the by the charging stuff. >> Okay. Do you have your driver's license on you? If not, I'll just take your name down. Okay. >> You got anything illegal in the car? >> No. Not that I know. >> Do you have a license or no? >> Yeah, I have a license. >> You got nothing illegal in the car? >> No. No. So, you're saying you don't have anything on you? You guys didn't take anything out? Okay. Were you putting stuff in anything? No. >> No. You didn't grab anything else uh counters or any clothes or anything? >> At this point, even after their denials, both of them kept giving statements that raised even more suspicion. The woman tried to sound confident, but her words came out uneven. >> I got maybe like two things. >> Sorry about that. I have one name, too. >> She took you think? Um, >> not that I'm aware of. It's cuz like we're kind of separate, so I don't know. So you guys walked in together then decided to walk out separate. >> No, no, no. We like she had walked in first. Um I had you could see like I had pee right there and she's the bathroom and then I walked in after. You know what I'm saying? >> Okay. So where would the merchandise be? >> It's in the car. It's all the way by the clothes and stuff. I didn't steal anything. >> Okay. Okay. So there's nothing in the car. What'd you take from this at? >> Nothing. I put it back. I only had cash. I only had $6. >> So there's nothing in that car that was from Kohl's. >> Cuz we're going to check. Just let you know >> it's not my car so you couldn't search the car. >> Okay. There's nothing in that car from Kohl's. You can look at each other all you want. We're end up figuring out. And we see that we have the cameras. So I I rather have you be honest with me so I can make this process easier and we can get this over with. All right. So we'll do what you got to do. But what but once we do find out, then we're going to make sure that I'm going to take this investigation to the fullest of his extent. >> It's all good. >> Huh? No. >> No. No. >> No. It's all good. >> No, I You want to help? >> Y can look at each other. It's fine. We're going to figure I'll figure it out for myself. I don't want >> asking if you want to. >> I don't I didn't walk out with nothing. Whatever. It's in the car. >> That's fine. Mom's going to >> That's fine. That's fine. I'm just going to I'm going to go go ahead with the I'm going to go talk to Kohl's. >> I'm going to watch the video again cuz I already saw >> She confidently allowed officers to search her luggage, but the truth began spilling out from the back seat. Let's see how the suspects reacted to that. How do we pronounce your first name? >> Mros. Okay. So, remember when I said they have amazing cameras? >> Okay. You're on camera leaving with the bag. Okay. Is that the bag in the passenger seat over there in the back seat? >> Be honest with him like you just told me. >> I'm going to grab that. Okay. >> No, I didn't say you. I'm going to grab it. Okay. >> Something just happened. And um I >> Is there anything else in the car that we're going to see? >> No, but not that I'm aware of. both. >> You said what? >> Okay. >> I know, but I have a son. I didn't walk out. >> Then that's another [ __ ] thing. I know, but friend, I'm not I'm alone. >> I didn't even I have my son My son's birthday's in two months. I have my sixth anniversary next month. >> You just repeat the >> So, what happens if I'm on probation in a different county? >> Probation. >> That's again, that's two probations. That's two violations. That's just dead. They're not going to keep letting me out. >> That's the thing. >> Depends what the amount is. So, there's a certain amount. I'm on parole, friend. I didn't get off in September. I'm on papers. I I'm on to the joint. I'm not going to see my son. I won't. >> The moment those bags were pulled out was the moment these suspects grew worried together about their fate. Like even the officers were fading from their sight. >> But you're on probation. >> They're not going to release me. >> I don't know. I'm not sure how much you wasn't. It was a bad >> So what usually happens if you're on probation and they >> Everybody has a different case. >> I was just going to say they're going to But sit 2 years mark. This is secondary probation. That means I got to sit 2 years after the idea. >> It doesn't matter what you guys who wants to take charge of who doesn't. We're going to watch the cameras. Both of you guys did it. Both of you guys come in. One of you guys did it. One of you guys comes in. It don't matter what you I mean, whatever you all discussing right now, it don't really matter. >> I was in the spot with her, but I didn't I wasn't like her up. >> We're going to watch the cameras and then we're going to see what happens. My mom said had Jay going. >> Thank you. One morning. >> Yeah. I got to think about this like before coming over here and doing it. Especially over here. Like this probably the worst spot to come around and do something. >> It's cuz we didn't like Can I talk to you again one more time over here? >> So everything became clear and the officers made their decisions for the suspects. From that moment, the woman started showing how mad she was about what had happened. Hey, this is what we're going to do. Give me your phone and then let's put your hands behind your back. Okay. Can you >> No, cuz you're technically in custody. So, I'm hanging it up once we're done with it. >> How am I in custody? >> Cuz you're going to jail. You're under arrest. >> And at this point, I'm not going to tell a lie when I'm I'm 2 years two years signed my life to probation and you're telling me I just I'm going to catch another case and you're getting off in 3 months. You're getting off parole. You could sit in a joint. You could do a program for a month and you'll get out. compared to me. I got to sit faithfully two years down there not doing and nobody helps your mom with your brother. Everything comes on me. I do everything to support help and do everything. That's why I'm sitting here looking at him. I'm not taking no blame for nothing cuz you were on camera, too. Not doing this back and forth. He I like how every cop wants to be rude to me when I'm being blat. And then they let the person that did the most of the work just have his phone. No can. Like if you're against women, just say that. >> I don't think that's what it is. >> I feel like it is. I really do because it's a lot of men officers that done that to me and it's always the other person that gets more freedom and everything. He had his phone most of the time. Most of the time I even I had my phone. I talked to the person that owned the car. He snatched my phone, put on the floor, and say, "You're you're detained." That don't make no sense how if I'm detained, he's detained. Cuz at the end of the day, he walked away from me. I stood in just >> Gotcha. I understand what you're saying. The man didn't escape the same fate. At this point, whatever he tried to earn sympathy wouldn't change anything. >> Um, I had lost half of my siblings and that anniversary next month. >> You know, I is there any way like it's cuz I didn't want nothing. >> Right. But you're you're on video, my man, doing that stuff. Okay. Does that make sense? >> You have anything else on you that's going to post me or hurt me? Gun, drugs? >> I I was being honest with you. All right. >> You You were honest with me after the handcaps came on and you said you took one thing and I I kind of >> I learned like I grabbed it and like >> you want him to take the bag with you. >> Okay. >> One more time. >> I was being you. Yeah. But do you remember when I originally started talking to you? You said no. You didn't do anything. You had no idea what I was talking about. >> I I wasn't kidding when I said they have good cameras, man. Okay. And then let me say one thing. Right. But but when when I when we asked questions, I promise you nine times out of 10 we know the answer. Okay. It's not it's not to see if you're going to lie. It's just the actual partner. I told him I told you I had put just one time I put some stuff in the back. I told you that it was just one time. You remember? >> That's really all I did. >> I I got you, man. But you're still on video doing it. Okay. And when I asked you, you said no originally, and then right now is when you said, "I'm going to be honest." I did one. >> Both suspects were charged with retail theft. Crime always catches up. They thought a quick theft would stay unnoticed, but all it brought was arrest, charges, and a ruined future. And now, let's see how a McDonald's [music] employee managed to lose her job on her very first day. >> Goes in there to tell me, "Oh, it's a girl 9 months pregnant here, and she ain't complaining. She working." >> That's okay. >> All right. >> All right. Stand up, Tiffany. >> For what? >> Just put your hands by your desk. >> For what? >> Stand up. >> On September 7th, 2023, police were called to a McDonald's after reports of a new employee causing chaos on her very first day. What they uncovered about this woman was far from simple. All right. Yes. The manager in here is acting up. >> Speed right up. >> They just ganged up on me. And this man right here put his hands in my face. His fingers in my face. I want the camera back. I want him arrested. >> Okay. Can you go sit over there, please? >> Can you go sit over there, please? >> Yeah. I'm going to go. I just want I want the camera back. >> Go sit down, please. >> Okay. Thank you. Can I have the longest from back here? They won't let me get my stuff. >> Go sit down, please. He didn't let you. I'm break. >> All right. I'm only going to say this one more time. Sit down. Okay. This woman is Tiffany, a brand new employee who hadn't even completed her first day. When officers arrived, she loudly claimed that her manager had attacked her while the other employees looked visibly frustrated. >> These two things right here, like she was going to hit him. All the thing he did was you better bag up. He did not touch her or anything. >> Okay. Do you all have cameras in here? >> Yes. But she has I've been trying to get her to work all day. I've been asking her nicely and everything. She has not wanted to do anything. And when I found when she I'm fed up with it as >> Where's the mail that that she went towards? >> He's out there talking to the other officer. Okay. >> Nobody's Okay. So, we've been telling her multiple times to clock out and go home. >> Okay. >> Multiple time. Now, >> now I'm on I'm on I called my supervisor to tell her to go home >> and she still right here arguing, picking fights with everybody in here. >> What's she doing to pick fights? She just >> she she just walking. >> She just carrying on. >> Yeah, she just walking around. She's just walking around. Oh, I'm tired of this. >> Nobody has touched her. We just trying to every If everybody else has to work, she has to work. Yes, I understand she's pregnant. >> Okay. >> I have a whole another employee that's going to have her baby in a few weeks and she still works like she's not pregnant. I understand everybody is different, but nobody put their hands on her. She He didn't. Was the victim really a pregnant woman claiming she was assaulted? Or was an entire crew just trying to deal with a chaotic new hire? Let's find out. >> That's exactly what it is. He just put his hands and mugged me three times in my goddamn face and I want him arrested. >> I want him charged cuz I'm going to put his goddamn hands on me. >> Okay. Well, >> and they all ganging up calling the other corporate district manager telling them bull about me. That's because they don't want me working here cuz they're ghetto over branches. >> Hey, stop. You need to calm down. >> Customers everywhere calling you to be here. >> So, the incident started because she doesn't want to work. >> Yes. And she's been asked multiple times between me and him nicely in the best in in the best way manner. That was professional way. Nobody cussed at her. Nobody been fussing at her. >> She didn't want when I asked her. So, you know what? Just clock out and go home and leave. I'm not going nowhere. I'm not going anywhere. I'm not even clocked in. She's recorded me >> and everything. So, all I've been ask her was to leave. That's all. >> And so, that's when the >> Yeah. And she started talking about I'm nothing. I'm below her and she was going to have my job. And then my brother said, "Just leave. Be on the phone with our supervisor." >> A former employee said Tiffany, the new hire, refused to work and argued with everyone. When reminded of her duties, she began yelling and smashing things, forcing them to call the police. The store manager, still seemed stunned by her behavior. I'm going to hit this all stuff like that. And I'm on the phone with the supervisor. The supervisor said, "Um, if y'all guys want to come up here tomorrow, y'all can pull the camera." I'm standing right here on the phone with the supervisor telling her to go home. She picked up three, four items, walked up to me and did just like this like she's going to hit me. She trying to pick a fight with the other manager telling let's go outside, fight, fight. And she was like, "No, you pregnant. I'm not going to fight you. You pregnant." Now, this when she called y'all and saying that I put my hands on her and I ain't even touch her m We've been telling her multiple times to go home and she would not go home. >> So, she didn't like the fact that y'all were telling her to go home. She just started acting. >> Yeah. This is her first day. >> Her first day. >> Yeah. We tell her what's wrong with me. I don't know her, bro. >> We telling her multiple times, please just go home. >> Please just go home. >> I had to tell my wife complaining for real. >> That's it. >> She's been behind the counter. If you look right here behind the counter, >> like it's a lot of ketchup right here. >> She picked up one of the little the little parts, little thing right here. >> Witnesses said Tiffany suddenly snapped, grabbed a tray, and threw it toward the manager while shouting that they were jealous and discriminatory. She insisted she was the victim while her co-workers just wanted her out of the store. >> Mad at me because um I can't remember whatever I said her. told me to go home and clock out because I said something. The manager, Javon, the one that bugged me in my face three times, his brother is Jamar. They're both cooks. He's out here. He comes to me and yells at me cuz I was stringing up my shoes. Whenever I got to work, I was putting my laces in my shoe. I was sitting right there. I had just sat down and put one one shoelace in my shoe. He comes out here and starts yelling at me. You need to do something. You ain't going to sit out here not doing nothing. You need to do something. You need to do something. The the the cook, the manager. Then his brother rolls up a fat blunt and goes outside and smoking it. Smoking cigarettes, smoking a blunt. So I went out there just juggling. I said, "If y'all are gonna pick on me, then I'm gonna talk to y'all. If y'all gonna sit out there and smoke weed and cigarettes and stuff, I'm going to write down the time and I'm going to tell the manager." Point blank period. If y'all going to pick at me, I'mma pick back at y'all. So if y'all want to go out there and smoke weed, that's fine. I'm going to record it and I'm going to say something about it. >> So she comes in there and says, "Oh, that's not your business. That's not your business. If you out there smoking weed, that's not your business. You can clock out and go home." >> Okay? so I can clock out and go home because I went out there and said to him, "Oh, because you're you're the manager's brother. You can do what you want to." Basically, you can sit out here smoke and cigarette for 5 10 minutes as many times as you want, but I can't sit down and rest and I'm 6 months pregnant. And he goes in there and tell me, "Oh, it's a girl 9 months pregnant here and she ain't complaining. She working." >> Okay. >> Picking on me because for one, I'm like, they all here ghetto and ratchet >> and that's why they don't like me. >> Stop. >> That's it. >> All right. So, what physically? >> Tiffany kept arguing that the manager yelled at her, then accused her manager of smoking weed and targeting her. But when police checked the security cameras, the truth quickly came to light. >> McDonald's. She's trying to get camera footage pulled up now. >> See, she's being pushed back to leave. >> Okay. Did she touch him at all with the >> No, she didn't actually touch him, but she >> she just threatened it. >> She threatened him. That's why he put his finger in her face. >> Okay. But after that, nothing else happened from that angle. And I was just telling her to go back. Um, you see, >> well, let me let me see this for a second. Let me watch how long this happened. Okay. And do you guys want her barred? >> Yeah, she needs to be barred. And you see right here, I'm calm and talking to her calmly. And >> when reviewing the footage, police saw Tiffany charging with a plastic tray while the manager only raised his hand to block. He never touched her, and her excuses about being pregnant no longer earned any sympathy. Get away from me. >> That's okay. >> Get away from me with your ghetto r. >> Tiffany, >> sorry. No good. Nothing. >> Tiffany, do you understand? Put your bard. >> That's okay. >> All right. Stand up, Tiffany. >> For what? >> Just put your hands by your back. >> For what? >> Stand up. >> What did you put my hands behind my back? >> Stand up. >> Going to jail. Okay. >> For what? >> What am I going to jail for? >> Simple assault. >> Oh, cuz you grabbed those menus and tried to hit him with them. >> No, I didn't. Y'all, I did not try to hit him. Y'all really going to sit here and take me to jail in front of these people? Y'all are really going to humiliate me like that? >> Not and it don't mean anything. >> Like what in the hell, man? >> You good? You got it. >> Sorry. You got it. >> If you just put it on my finger, I'll take it. >> And there goes her phone. [laughter] >> Everything on the ground now. >> Jesus Christ. >> Hey, hold on. You want to hold some more? >> Can you [clears throat] just jump on my back? >> That's the Oh, >> go this way. How am I going to jail for simple assault? I'm 6 months pregnant and I might risk pregnancy. How are they charging me with simple assault whenever you threaten me? >> A menu and threatened to hit him with >> No, I didn't. >> Leaning against his 911. >> I didn't threaten to hit. >> We watched it. We watched it. >> I picked up the menus. I did not threaten to hit him. >> Okay. >> What about the threat threatened me? >> Leaning against us at 911. >> Yeah, you could see on video picking up the menus and coming after him with it. >> Can I ask you something? >> I got to read you something. What about the threat that they gave to me? >> What about the threat that they threatened me? >> You got it. Church. >> Yo, that's not right. >> Somebody's face last week and got arrested, too. >> No, I wasn't. I've never been in any trouble in here other than stealing from Walmart. >> Will you put your Will you come over here for me? You have anything on you? >> Take me to jail. >> Yeah. >> Why are you charging me? >> Because I saw video. >> So, but you're not going to charge him for >> Sit down, please. I'm not going to tell you again. >> No, because I'm not alive. He hit me. He put his >> Tiffany, put your legs in the car. >> It turned out the suspect had a history of theft and had recently been released from jail. In the end, Tiffany was convicted of assault and sentenced to 12 months of probation along with a $50 fine. Anger and a victim mentality can turn any opportunity into a downfall. In the next case, you'll be shocked by how much money an employee stole from her own boss. out of $8,000. I have this in my mouth. I'm like, it hurts me a lot. >> On September 14th, 2022, police received a report from Plato Closet about an employee who had stolen over $115,000 from the cash register. Officers arrived immediately, and it seemed from the manager statement that she still had no idea she had been caught. >> Um, have you said anything to her? No, absolutely not. >> No, sir. >> Okay. Um, now the video surveillance. Um, so I noticed there's the 14th from this morning. >> Yep. >> And if I got that correct, you can't pull up any records or print out. Are you able to print out anything from the registers? >> From maybe yesterday, but not today. >> Okay. So, nothing from today. accident. Like I know some registers like you can't do a finalized report up front, but you might be able to print like a >> Yeah, I can probably I can probably call Laura and get it done and she might be able to do it and send it over to me. >> Gotcha. Yeah. >> Okay. Now those cameras are the 14th and 12th. What happened to the 13th? >> There was two days there. Were you able to get a third day? >> Is today the 14th or the 13th? >> Today's the 14th. >> It It was the 13th and 14th she did. Not on the 12th. Did I put the 12th? >> We're just asking. I thought yes you wrote 12 on the envelope. So all right so the date is wrong on the envelope. So it's today and yesterday >> and yesterday. >> Okay. And did you go back to look at anything on the >> today's? Was she working on this? >> On the 12th. Um >> no there wasn't there wasn't any discretions on on that. >> Okay. >> Yeah. No discretions on that. As far as if you look at those sheets that I gave you, I think it wasn't just the 13th and the 14th. I think the 12th was clear. >> Okay. According to the investigation report, she had created numerous fraudulent transactions in the system with total losses exceeding $220,000. At this point, police [music] approached the woman while she still thought she was just working her usual shift. >> Hey, how are you? >> Good. >> Deputy Ly, mind if I talk to you for a few minutes? We go in the back? >> Sure. >> All right. I'll let you lead the way to the office. >> Go ahead. You >> uh Oh, dang. I don't have the >> Oh, he doesn't have That's all right. You want you just step up front? >> Yeah. >> I wanted to talk to you cuz I have video surveillance. >> Okay. About the past couple days while you've been working doing these buys. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And you take these buys. I see you on camera taking cash, putting it in your pants. You want to tell me a little bit about that? >> Uh, yeah. Um, >> let's to be honest with you, like we're we're in a part right now. Just fix it. So, just being honest and helping us do the right thing and figure it out is the best way to move. Does that make sense? We've already been looking at this all morning. So, >> we're not here to we're not here to get you to tell us everything. We know a lot already. So, that's why we're just asking for you to be honest, right? So that's important. >> Yeah. >> Upon hearing the allegations, she even appeared calmer than her manager. Though in reality, she was anxious and trying to act composed. Her halting and hesitant words gave away her true fear. >> I just been having some stuff that I don't want. And uh well, majority of it is yeah, I shouldn't be taking money from him. Um for two times I have done that. Um the other times um >> now have you brought where is the stuff that you brought in? >> Um it's already like out on the floor. But it's just been like two purses and a pair of shoes. But anything else I >> You said honesty has been a big year >> cuz I've watched the video surveillance. How about How about this? >> It seemed this woman underestimated the scale of her own scam as she had no idea of the total value she took or simply took items without paying attention to their price. >> How much money do you think? Okay. about I want to say a,000. >> Maybe a thousand. >> Yeah. >> Cuz I have all the documentation. I have paperwork dating back until January. And I see all the And it's totaling way more than $1,000. You're doing a couple hundred. You're doing hundred something dollars a day. >> How much did you take today? It's like 150 I think. >> Is that typically what you drink in a day? >> Yeah, I would say. >> Is it always over 100? What can you say? >> Yeah. >> And would you say that you've done it at least 20 times? >> So if it's over 100 and you've done it maybe 20 times, that's 2,000 right there. And that's a rough estimate, right? See what I mean? How that adds up? So, where is this money? >> Um, I have it. >> You're saving it? You have it? >> Yeah. >> You have all the money? >> I I I don't know how much it would be. >> If I were to say $16,000, >> would that be about what it is? >> Yeah. >> Do you think you have all that $16,000? >> Yeah. >> Okay. I know this makes me look like a stealer. Like I'm stealing money. Like that's like the most thing you could probably ever steal from somebody. It probably makes me look bad. It makes me look that I steal things but I don't. >> So she was aware of the actual value she took but tried to downplay it. Her action stemmed from personal hardships yet they led to belated regret. >> I feel really bad for doing this. >> Where's your purse right now? >> In the back. I guess we can go get that. >> We'll all go together. >> I just feel really >> Are you willing to >> take that money out of your purse to give us back if that makes sense? >> Yeah. And I'm willing to give back the money that I stole from you. >> Good. >> It's just I feel really You're really bad. >> I understand. You made a mistake. >> It It's It's not a mistake. >> No, it is. It's a It's a bad decision and you still made it though and I understand why you feel bad. >> Like and it's hard because I've worked with him for so long. I don't want to stab him. And then another thing I've been having like dental issues $8,000. I have this system like it hurts me a lot. And I needed that money. Like sometimes the cysts are not good. Like >> I don't know what they do to me, but they make me tired. Sometimes I'm really dizzy. Like my mouth is constantly bleeding. >> Listen, I listen. I hear it. >> I need that money. You know, >> we we understand why people do things to give it all, >> you know, but you know, we learn from our mistakes. We got to make sure we adjust from our mistakes. You know, you're 22 years old. Let me get that right. 21. >> 21. >> 21. I'm going to be 22. >> Yes. >> In fact, unaware that her actions had been discovered, she continued her behavior even that day. Shortly after, police moved in to recover the stolen funds. >> All right. This is today's buddy. >> Love. Yeah. It was $183 is what she said was. >> So, why don't you go ahead and count that for me? >> Lord. Holy God. Are you This is today. >> One two three four three one two three >> I think some of that is my money but I >> 70 374 >> and how much was stolen in the p how much did you take in the past two days talking >> to who? >> Aaron. She wants to say something to you. going to talk to you. >> $16,000 you ripped me off. I could be doing good instead of taking out a loan to survive because you stole $16,000 from me since January. >> What did you want to say? >> I'm honestly so sorry. >> The woman was charged with felony grand theft, received 5 years probation, and was ordered to pay $20,000 in restitution. So, it's >> it's just we're just kind of waiting for people to come forward and let us know um whose mailbox is what. But >> Okay. Thank you. You're welcome. No word. >> The next day, based on another video provided by a resident showing clearer images of the suspects, police approached a man matching the description. And here's what happened next. >> Talk to you real quick. >> All right. Do you have anything in your hands right here? >> You see that guy shoes? >> Okay. Come right here real quick. Okay. And he said he was looking for a gold bracelet for his mom and his dad tomorrow. So I proceeded to show him where we have their bracelets and then he said no, nothing like that. And he showed me his necklace. He has one. He was like, "Something more like this." I said, "I can check in the back and see what we have that might." So, >> yeah. The $5,000 missing. >> So, what's the process with the driver's license? How does that work? >> When John got it from the guy? >> Yeah. >> So, if our policy is if someone wants to see a Rolex, they're so expensive. We ask for their driver's license because they could take it and and run and >> it's just to cover our eyes. >> No, no, no. I'm I'm just trying to figure out is it to look at this? Can I have all of the jewelry? >> Shortly after, the man in the family who had outstanding warrants was interviewed separately about the incident. Here's how he responded to what the police had discovered. Obviously, when we stopped you, we found a bunch of jewelry, uh, including Rolexes and stuff like that. Where did all these things come from? Cuz they're like kind of hidden, obviously. It's a little odd, wouldn't you think? So, where those where did those things come from? >> No. >> No com. Okay. So, there was a Rolex located on your son on his on his wrist that's stolen. Where did those come from? >> No comment. Do you want to talk to me about anything? And the man, already facing multiple felony warrants across several states, was charged again with grand theft. The key lesson here is that involving children in criminal activity, even unknowingly, exposes them to serious legal consequences and traumatic situations. Next, this fancy woman got so drunk completely forgot she HAD STOLEN ANYTHING. >> HELP! [screaming] HELP! HELP! HELP! >> If you're intoxicated, you're intoxicated. >> I was Okay. Well, now you're going to jail. >> On May 6th, 2025, employees at a Circle K dialed 911 after a furious woman grabbed items, refused to pay, and sped off into the night. Officers quickly tracked her down, and the moment they reached her window, it seemed she had already shown a lack of respect. >> Reason for me? >> Yeah, I'll explain it to you as soon as I see your >> No, I could. >> I actually know my right to I need to see your driver's license, please. I will be calling my father again. >> Okay. >> I give you my license. >> I need to see your license, please. >> It's okay. I'll be making sure I contact my father before I >> let you violate me. >> Okay. >> I know how this works. So, it's okay. >> Hey, Dad. I'm being pulled over right here by the house because he's not explaining to me why he's pulling me over, but he said he can cuz he can or like he wants to. Yeah, I don't think so. >> I told him I knew my rights and he said I didn't. So, >> okay. Well, listen. Are you my father? >> Okay. Well, right now you're you're obstructing. Okay. >> And I told you that I will tell you the reason why you were stopped. >> I sure did. I told you. As soon as I see your driver's license, I will tell you why I stopped you. And then you started. >> Okay. I need to see it and I need you to hand it over to me, please. I'm showing him my I'm showing him my >> clearly with the excuses she made up in the way she behaved, she had no intention of making things easy. Instead, forcing officers to respond with a much firmer hand. >> Put the car in park and shut the car off. >> Thank you. He has my driver's license and his hand is leaning into my car. >> Okay, step out of the car. >> Oh my god. >> Dad, >> put the car in park, >> Dad. He's ripping me out of my car. >> Step out of the car. Step out of the car. I'm not doing this with you. Step out of the car. >> Dad, my car is in park. He's ripping me out of my car. Step out of the car. >> I'm I'm being detained. For what reason? I Please don't touch me. Please don't touch me. Please don't touch me. Please do not touch me. He's being I'm being ripped out of my car. >> What? What? Don't you understand? >> I'm being ripped out of my car. >> What don't you understand? my car >> because you're BEING DETAINED. >> BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT COOPERATING. >> WHY am I being RIPPED OUT OF MY CAR? >> WHY DON'T you understand what's going on? >> Why am I being ripped out of my car? >> Cuz you're obstructing. >> I'm notice you're obstructing official business. Get out of the car. >> I'm not caring justice. >> I'm being ripped out of my car. Please call >> You have to step out of the car. >> Please call Alexis. >> You have to step out of the car. >> My phone is being detained. >> You have to step out of the car. >> I don't have to step out. You are under arrest. >> You are under arrest for obstructing. Get out of the car. >> I'm under arrest. >> I just told you you're going to get tased. >> Under arrest. >> Get out of the car or you're going to get tased. >> Why am I under arrest? >> Why am I under arrest? >> Her own resistance dragged her straight into this mess. Yet, she acted like a victim, screaming for help while it was obvious she was the last person suffering any real harm. >> Why am >> I told you? You're obstructing. >> THANK YOU. JUSTICE. Somebody call my sister. Call my dad. Call my mother. Call my father. >> GET BACK. GET BACK. >> MY WALLET. Somebody please help me. Help me. Help. [screaming] Help. Help. Help. HELP. GET IN YOUR CAR NOW. GET IN YOUR CAR [screaming] NOW. >> HELP. [screaming] HELP. HELP. HELP. HELP. [screaming] HELP. HELP. HELP. HELP. WHEN THE WOMAN was taken into custody, the officers clearly explained the situation to her and everything was fully confirmed by the store employees through another group of officers. >> Okay. Well, I'll tell you now why I pulled you over. Okay. I pulled you over cuz we got a call from the Circle K that you shoplifted from the Circle K. I did. >> Okay. And they and whatever it was that you stole, you apparently threw out the window. Okay. >> Okay. >> Well, you said you don't want to talk to me. Okay. So, I'm telling you, >> can I talk to you 821 radio? I'll be out of circle K. >> What's up? >> What's the gist? What happened? >> She All right. Literally, what do I have? He was talking to her friend. She got pissed off about it. Was holding up my selfch checkout. So, I told her I was like, "Can you please move her check out?" I was being nice as I could. She just kept going off with the fat and that. I know who she is from the bar >> over here. >> Yeah. And she just kept going off and she kept getting mad cuz he wasn't paying for her. >> Literally. >> You didn't want to pay for her stuff. >> But he paid for her friend. >> No, because lit literally or whatever. She was talking to a dude already on the phone as it is. >> Uhhuh. >> But that's when her friend was pretty much saying, "Oh, I'm going to pay for your stuff." Cuz me and other friend already had a like connection after this. So, I don't know what happened like or the other person, she got mad. I don't know. I wasn't even >> Did she take anything? >> Yeah, she took four things, but I think I got it on the camera for >> this is her walking out. It was a chocolate covered pretzels, three of guacamole, and I think two hot fries. >> Okay. >> But she threw two things in the parking lot. >> Did you get those? Is there any cameras outside? >> Yeah, that was her. And then she came back >> and that was her friend there >> on her side. The woman did not take the explanation lightly. Her attitude and behavior only convinced the officers that she was under the influence of alcohol. >> Asa, why did you pull me over? Cuz I didn't travel with >> Okay. How much have you had to drink tonight? >> I had a shot from the bar next to the bouquet >> and I went over there to get a water and a snack. Mhm. And you took those without paying for them. >> My friend paid for the snack >> after you took them. >> She paid for them. I thought I was going back to my car because they were being paid for. >> Okay. Well, right now you are >> right now you're under arrest for obstruction for resisting arrest. >> All right. And then I'm going to take you back to the station and run you through field sobriety test because I believe that you're intoxicated because this isn't normal behavior. This is the behavior of somebody that is intoxicated >> because I live right >> I don't care where you live. >> I'm going >> I don't care if your house was right there. >> My house is >> If you're intoxicated, you're intoxicated. I was >> Okay. Well, now you're going to jail. >> Do you have any other questions? Okay. >> I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. [screaming] I see it. >> In the end, she was charged with theft, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, and DUI. Her case proved a simple lesson. Lying, resisting, and acting out never changed the truth. It only added more charges and destroyed her freedom. Next, this man wasn't actually committing shoplifter, but he served as a warning for shoppers to stay cautious in large malls. >> What did I do? >> There's allegations that you're exposing yourself. >> No. What? >> Why'd you take the vessel? >> Uh, it was from my lips. On February 20th, 2025, police were called to a Walmart after staff reported a suspicious man. Surveillance cameras showed him pacing the aisles like a typical shoplifter, but the situation quickly turned darker. He shadowed female shoppers, stalking them from behind with alarming intent. His disturbing behavior crossed the line and officers immediately detained him. at this moment everything. >> What's your name? >> Oh, me. >> What did I do? >> What did I do? What did I do? >> Allegations that you're exposing yourself. >> No. What? >> I hope the cameras don't lie. >> Do you have any merchandise on you or anything? >> No. >> 41. He's detained. We're going up to LP now. >> Do you know where these women are? >> Where the women are? >> No, there's there's been like three different ones. that none of them have commented. >> No, none of them have. They don't know. They don't notice anything. >> Yeah. >> He had no idea his actions were already exposed. Officers saw everything he did to multiple victims while he stood there pretending to be clueless, acting as if nothing had happened. >> Yeah. >> What? Ma'am, Miss Vernon, what what did I do? Uh, I'm not sure. I just got here, but I think >> doing a few things. >> You want to see what we >> have? Find out what we're doing. Cameras here. Look over here first. This is This is one of That's about three different female shots. But here's just one right here. Watching this female. She's right here on this one. See, like he goes in one bathroom. So that's weird. >> See right there. And then he goes right here. So cases what you must call it to another show. Rome, do you have the Vaseline on you that you took off the shelf? >> Is it in this this pocket? I remember pick up picking up a Vaseline, but I don't >> That's [snorts] Meanwhile, officers and store security approached the victims to learn what really happened. Thankfully, none of them suffered psychological harm. >> Hello. Hi. You're not in any trouble, but I was wondering if you noticed a man following you earlier. >> Yeah. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> Did he say anything or >> No, he didn't. >> Okay. >> But thank you for asking. >> If you're not born, I'm 97. >> Um, well, he's been walking around following women and he's beening himself. >> Oh, yeah. And but I've seen you like getting >> Okay. But you didn't you didn't see anything? >> Yeah. You just said they call you now. >> Okay. All right. >> Yeah. It's kind of odd like >> Yeah. Okay. Thank you. >> I haven't brought her up to speed on anything yet. >> Okay. She knows she's not in trouble. >> Yes. I let her know she's not in trouble. I will get a picture of him. >> Okay. Um was it Hey, did that happen in the garden center? >> Yes. >> Okay. Did you notice anybody following you? >> I felt like I was being followed. I did. >> Okay. Did Did you But did you notice anybody? I noticed a male. >> Okay. >> I didn't look for it, but I just kind of felt like somebody and I walked away and then I forgot something over there. I walked back and I did kind of pay attention more when I walked back. >> Okay. You saw him that time or >> No, I didn't see him over there again, but when I walked away, I kind of felt like he might be following me. >> And >> can you describe him at all? just average person. >> Back in loss prevention, he still thought he was being detained for stealing the Vaseline. But officers got straight to the real issue. Let's watch his reaction. >> To be honest, sir, I came in here to buy some food. >> Yeah. >> And I did pick that up. >> Okay. But why? >> Why are we following girls around? >> I'm not following girls around. >> I'm watching you on camera do it. I'm not, sir. >> Okay. I'm I'm watching you on camera follow girls around and pull your out. So, what is that about? >> I I'm I see you doing it on camera. >> You can't tell me you didn't. I see it. >> Can I see it? >> No, but I'm watching it. I'm watching you pull your out while you're following girls around. >> I'm not. >> Can I see? >> I I don't know what to tell you when it's on camera. >> Can I see you? >> No, you can't. Why? Why do you need to see it? It's you. You're the one who did it. >> You saying that I pull my out on camera? >> Yes. >> Can I see it? >> No. You You were doing it in person. You probably saw it yourself. Why do you need to see it on camera? >> Because I I >> She looks like she's done. >> Although the man tried to deny everything, there was enough evidence and witnesses. Police could charge him. And now officers raised some questions about the incident. >> Okay. Do you feel like you're drunk right now? Uh, not no. >> Okay. >> Why'd you take the Vaseline? >> Uh, it was for my lips. >> You just didn't want to pay for it or >> I didn't have money to pay for it. >> Okay. Well, see, so now we're getting around. So, if you didn't have money to pay for the Vaseline, you told me you came here to buy groceries. >> Yes, sir. >> So, how are you going to pay for the groceries? >> My food. >> Okay. Yeah. I mean, I I I don't know what to tell you. It's they they called cuz they were watching you on camera doing what I told you. And then when I go and look at the camera, I see exactly that. >> I don't see how when I didn't, so >> Rome, I just unless you you forgot what happened 10 minutes ago. I just don't I don't understand. Rome, why'd you why'd you go in the women's bathroom? >> That was an accidental. She she had came in and told me that I was in a woman's restroom and I had walked out and uh she didn't say uh nothing further. So >> Okay. She just mistakenly went in the girl's bathroom. >> Yeah. >> In the end, he was charged with indecent exposure for his actions inside Walmart and with a past warrant for lararseny. Meet the halftruth girl. She tried to maintain her image but ended up with bad consequences. >> Like why? Why give me part of it and not like theft's theft? >> I barely lasted 3 days. >> On March 17th, 2025, police received a call from Walmart about a woman deliberately hiding merchandise in her purse while shopping with her family. When officers arrived, she tried to flee but was intercepted. Here's what happened next. >> I can't roll my window down. Don't worry. >> What is it? >> Okay. >> My name's Al Chai Police Department. Okay. The reason why I stopped you is because loss prevention was apparently watching her in the store. When I passed you, >> they didn't give me a real good information there. I would have stopped you there. Okay. So, apparently she has some items that she didn't pay for. >> [music] >> these. >> No, I'm going to say it's not the Hormel pepperonis. >> Uh, he listed a jacket, [music] a bra. >> Here's the jacket. >> Did you pay for the jacket? >> Okay, >> there. That's what he's asking you. >> So, the jacket. What else? >> I didn't even notice you didn't have clothing. What? How do you know she >> Is that it? >> What else? >> I can't roll. I'm sorry. >> What else? Is there anything else? >> He wants to >> You can open up that door. >> Yeah, open the fuse is blowing or something. It does that sometimes. >> Okay, this it no bra. >> No, I put it back. >> You put the bra back? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you have an ID, driver's license, a anything? Just >> a picture ID. >> Sure. Don't drive away. Don't run me over your >> These women showed no shock at the police's accusations, even handing over the items they had taken without a hint of shame. Yet, even after returning some merchandise, officers received reports that several items were still unaccounted for. >> I don't know where she dropped that, so she put it back. I don't know why she would give me the shirt and the shorts and not the bra. She handed all over to me as soon as I walked up there. 23. We ask her where she dropped the bra at. I think >> uh near the shoes, I think. >> She says near the shoes. She say she thinks >> I don't know. >> Near the shoes. Receipt for this. She's got a Cincinnati shirt, too. >> So, that was it. >> See if she see if she dumped it. >> Ask her if she has a Cincinnati shirt or she dropped it. Also, >> I was just about to call you. You want her to come in the store and show you? >> Well, I mean, is there in her purse or no? >> I mean, she's saying no, but >> can you see it anywhere? >> Here. Where's your purse at? >> Is it in it? >> Yeah. You better get them there. >> What? >> I mean, yeah, there's a bra in here. >> What kind of bra was it? Does it matter? I mean, >> go where? >> Where's the tag on? >> XXL black cross sports bra. >> Brand a >> Okay. >> Um, you want me to bring her in? >> Tell them they need to wait. >> There's a pair of red shorts in here as well. What else? >> Yeah, just bring bring her bring her up here. >> All right. All right. Go ahead and for me. >> All right. Walk back to my cruiser. Walk back to my cruiser. >> At this point, the woman behind the theft was handcuffed by police and escorted back to Walmart. Officers then inspected her bag further, uncovering additional items and revealing her incomplete disclosure. >> Can you place your hand together like you're praying? >> We're just going to the office. Okay. You're not going to jail or anything. We're going to figure out what's going on. I mean, you were you were being honest there for a little bit. So, what happened? What happened? >> So, you didn't want them to know. >> Well, she got there. She's really starting to piss me off now. >> Yeah, she was being honest. She said she lied because her friends are in the car with her and that's her boyfriend's family. She didn't want them knowing. >> They already knew. Wait, those are shorts. I thought they were shorts. >> Yeah. >> I mean, sure. I don't think she sold that. They haven't sell that one. >> This? >> Yes. This was it. You >> sell that one? >> This the bra. >> Is the Is the bag stolen? >> No, the bag is not. >> That's her. The woman also explained her reason for trying to conceal the stolen items. She acted without shame in committing the wrongdoing. Yet in reality, she was careful about maintaining her image. >> He's here too, I assume. >> What? >> Like why why give me part of it and not like theft's theft? Like it doesn't matter whether it's a penny or $999.99. I'm thinking it's the same. Like what was the point in giving me a shirt and a pair of shorts? >> Cuz my boyfriend's family was in the car and I didn't want them. >> Well, they already knew obviously cuz I walked up. You gave me a shirt and a and a sweater. That's all I said. That's not a real good reason. Okay. Well, let me get a total for this stuff. >> [laughter] >> I barely lasted 3 days. [panting] >> Tears of remorse streamed down her face when she realized her relatives already knew the whole truth. She had believed she could hide her wrongdoing, but in reality, they all saw that she was only deceiving herself. Are >> you lying? You were being honest. I don't know why you're lying. >> That fine. >> Yeah. >> Oh, okay. >> That's it, right? >> Yeah, that's fine. >> Just uh I tried to tell her not to lie. You know what I mean? I tried. >> Yeah. >> She's 18 and done. You know, >> 19, but yeah. >> Whatever. That's my brother's girlfriend. So, >> yeah. Well, she don't have any contacts with us. Like, I put her name in her computer and she don't have any contacts with us at all. >> Never been in trouble at all. Really? It's first time. >> Yeah. She kicked her off. >> Maybe it'll scare her. Yeah. >> I mean, I had I had full intentions of taking the stuff. >> I knew you didn't. I knew you did. So, I tried to tell her I didn't know she have more in that bag. I said, "Give me that bag. Let me look through it." She >> Yeah. >> All right. Thank you, guys. Yep. >> Where'd he go? >> He went through the receipt. Yeah. >> You sure this bag's not stolen? >> He said I saw it. >> Looks kind of new. Now she was taken to the police station where officers explained the procedures to her. Remarkably, her attitude remained unashamed, treating the experience as just another milestone of being 18. >> You ain't never been here before. Uh, nothing concealed on your bra, on your body, anything like that. Okay. >> You don't even have any contacts in our system. >> I said you don't even have any contacts in our system. It's a heck of a way to start out here. We're going to learn learn a lesson at this point. So, being you never been here. I'll kind of explain your process to you a little bit. Uh they'll come down out here. They want to patch you down and then they'll put you in that little body scanner there. They scan your body. Then they'll book you in, take your picture, and slide you in one of the cells. Okay. You have court tomorrow morning, ma'am. In the end, the woman was charged with theft. Hiding wrongdoing only delays consequences. Even without shame, deception is obvious, and honesty could have spared her legal trouble. More chaotic, this woman thought that the victim act would actually work. >> Please let me go. >> Stop it. Please let go of me. >> Just take a deep breath. On July 4th, 2023, police responded to a shoplifting report at a shopping center. The suspect, an older woman, seemed like a straightforward case until officers arrived and asked her to come with them. >> Hello. >> We were looking. >> Everything good? >> I think she's coming with me. Okay. This way. >> You need me at all? Okay. >> Okay. >> No, I know. But one way or another is closed. It's too late. >> You're not right. I didn't do anything. >> So, go that way. Go this way. >> Please, sir. >> I have groceries and I have kids. >> Right now, you're under arrest. You understand? Let's go this way. >> Let's go this way. >> Let go of you. Why? Honey, don't let me. No, I'm just asking him to let go of me. Look, please let go of me. >> I just want him to let go. >> Please don't. Just come by and you won't give her privacy. >> I know, right? Let's go. >> All you have to do, I'm giving you a lawful order. I'm giving you a lawful order to come in here. All these people are watching that you're disobeying a lawful order. I don't know. I understand what you're saying. >> Step inside now. >> Please. >> Step inside. >> I can't be under arrest. I have kids at home. >> Step inside. >> Please stop being upset with me. >> Now you are resisting. That's another charge. >> No. >> Step inside. >> Stop it. >> The woman displayed blatant non-compliance. [music] Naively believing her please would work. But what she didn't realize was that her actions were only making things worse. >> Please. I'm begging you. >> Nope. You are under arrest. >> Okay. Let go of >> You are resisting. You are under arrest. >> Please let go of let go of me. Please stop it. Please let go of me. SIR. OW. NO. >> You're not going to do this to me. >> Stop. Me. Taste. I AM A PEACEMAKER DEFIILLATOR. I CANNOT get taste. >> I am giving you a lawful ORDER. >> I AM ASKING YOU TO STOP. I DIDN'T DO anything wrong. >> Please stop touching me. I'M WALKING UP WITH MY GIRLFRIEND. >> You are not going anywhere. >> Yeah, >> you are not. >> Why? >> You left outside the grocery entrance where >> this is I'm calling. No, >> this is not prevention. >> Excuse me. Stop it. I didn't do anything. PLEASE. I HAVE TO GET HOMES TO MY KIDS. >> NO. NO. >> NO. If you please, I will turn myself and you cannot hug me. And do this. I will. No, please. I don't I'm not well. >> I'm not joking with you. >> These are on your call. Please, please. I was terrorized by officers. I was [laughter] taken by and then they held me. Please understand, please. I can't. Please. I'll turn myself in. I walk to I have given you. Her agitation kept escalating as she hurled accusations back at the officer. She never sought to understand anything, choosing instead to play the victim while refusing to face the truth behind the entire incident. >> PLEASE STAND UP. >> PLEASE. NO. >> STAND UP. >> PLEASE don't hurt me. >> You got her under. >> All you have to do is stand up. >> I WANT [clears throat] MY FAMILY. Please understand this is not fair. >> Can I get you to stand up? >> Please, I will stand up. LET ME GO. >> STAND UP. >> This is wrong. >> Stand up. >> It's not fair. >> Stand up. >> Listen to me. There's nothing that happened. So why are you doing this to me? >> Stand up. >> Please listen to me. Nothing happened. So I'm going to see if you like this. >> Everything would have been fine. I HAVE KIDS AND I HAVE PETS. I don't have a warrant. >> I understand that. I have a lawyer. But I have a lawyer. It's not >> No, I understand that. But I'm telling myself with my lawyer. >> I have You can call it. >> Listen, let me talk. Do you think that we want to do this right now? >> It's a Fourth of July weekend. >> I know. Please. >> None of us want to do this right now. Don't interrupt me when I'm talking. None of us want to do this. Can we stand you up? >> Stand up. >> Stand up. I'm going to help you stand up. >> Stand up. None of us None of us want to do this. Come on. >> We're placing you in handcuffs. >> Handcuffs. Just take a deep breath. Listen. You You don't understand. PLEASE. YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. THIS IS WHY I AM. PLEASE. Please understand. Please. I'M BEGGING. >> THOUGH she cried, not a single tear ever fell. And once again, her attitude shifted. She started accusing the officers of terrorizing her. A performance that only exposed one thing. This wasn't her first time tangling up with the law. Here's understand broken into my house. You're going to think I'm lying. Six of them. And they pushed me down. They did not even have charges change. I I was help. They picked me when you knew I had a pacemaker. The warrant was for Lee County, which I don't even know where that is. >> I was in jail for 8 days. They came in. They terrorized my mom. They took me broke down the bathroom door. And then they came on top of me. The two of them keep me at the scene. >> He tried to get away. >> I stopped her >> and I told her she's under arrest. >> Okay. [laughter] >> She said no. She's getting away. I put her up against the wall. I said, "Now you're nobody knew where I was, BUT THEY WOULDN'T even judge. Please don't want to hurt. Please understand. >> I WILL call you to be. I did not do anything wrong right now. Please, please. >> I Let's >> Please tell my mom. >> Are you ready for >> Please call my mom. >> Are you ready? Are you [laughter] ready for me to talk? You're adult. WE DON'T NEED TO CALL. >> I'M NOT OKAY. [screaming] >> ARE YOU Do you want Do you want >> I'm never okay. >> Do you want an ambulance? >> I just want you left alone. I didn't leave me alone. You're terrorizing my life right now. >> Nobody's terrorizing. >> Yes, you are. My I have kids at home and I have pets at home. >> Well, then you trying to made a poor decision. >> It was troubling how this middle-aged woman kept making everything harder. She even dragged her kids and her mother into the mix as excuses to resist, forcing the officers to escalate their actions step by step. >> Well, who's going to take care of my kids? >> No. Please take care of No. No. I don't take care of what you stop. Please let me call my mom. Stop. YOU MAKE MY GO OFF. [screaming] W I AM GETTING BIGGER. >> STOP. PUT YOUR HANDS. >> NO. >> PUT YOUR HANDS RIGHT. >> PLEASE. I'm just asking you to not cop me. >> I'm asking you to not cop me. Please help me. >> Please somebody help me. >> Somebody help me. >> I know, right? Cuz this is terrible. LIKE WHAT DID I DO WRONG? AND LOOK AT ALL OF YOU. WAIT. LOOK. All of you. Look at me. YOU'RE BEING HURT. >> NO, YOU ARE HURTING ME. My kids away from your home. >> Okay, step away from you. >> Please understand. >> No, NO, NO. PLEASE, I understand. I mean, let's talk here. Let me call my mom. I NEED SOMEONE TO HELP ME. I CAN'T [screaming] DO THIS. >> NO. PLEASE HELP ME. Please help me. Help me. Help me. >> Back at the station, regret finally crept in as she began to admit pieces of what she'd done. In truth, she was the one who let everything spiral into chaos, all over a petty theft that wasn't worth anything to begin with. >> I'm so sorry. This is my worst nightmare. I'm so sorry. >> None of us put this again. None of us put this on wanting to hurt anybody. >> I understand. >> Okay. We were called for a reason. >> No, I understand you're doing your job and I'm sorry. >> Hi, sir. My name is Officer Mike Riser with Round Lake Beach Police Department. >> Hi, Officer Attorney. How are you? >> Good, thank you. Um, so she we originally went for a shoplifting call and um you know, as funny as it may sound, it was for only $15 and some change. Um, we did advise her and then the warrant popped and then um uh we had told her I told her she'd under arrest and then she resisted as well. So that that's where we are. So So what I'm doing is I'm filling out paperwork, uh our administrative paperwork, our booking sheets, and I'm going to site her with the incident that we had here. And then uh in the meantime, I'm waiting for county to get back with me on the warrant. >> Okay. >> She was ultimately charged with petty shoplifting and resisting arrest. Always remember, a single lie can snowball into chaos. Stay honest, stay calm, and own your actions before the consequences own you. In this case, escalated from a simple traffic stop into the apprehension of a suspect caught shoplifting. >> All y'all come in like this for legal. >> I told you why. I literally just told you. >> So, you went in there, you didn't have the intention to take anything, but you saw that the road was open and decided to not pay. >> On February 11th, 2024, [music] police on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Okay. >> Everything's cool. >> All right. Do me a favor. Can you step out for me? Clearly, this suspect had no intention of cooperating when confronted by the police. But based on additional information gathered about the vehicle, the officers had to take a more assertive approach. >> What? >> Can you step out for me, please? >> Ask me why now? >> Because I'm asking you to. Okay. >> We have life. Why do we have >> I'm asking you to step out because this car was seen leaving the jewel of the scene of a retail theft. Okay. Let us figure out what's going on. Come with us. Stay warm and let's figure it out there. So, instead of figuring it out out here, it could be another damn hour. It's freezing. >> I can't take this back to the train station. >> Oh, I here I'll make a deal with you. It [ __ ] turns out we're, you know, we're going to figure it out and you're going to be on your own. I'll take you right back to the train station. >> What do you mean? Well, I got to I got to call CBD right now. I can't let you go. >> In the end, the driver was charged with retail theft and their initial traffic violation. Remember, even small, seemingly minor actions like ignoring traffic rules or trying to evade responsibility can quickly escalate into serious legal consequences. And now, let's see how a McDonald's employee managed to lose her job on her very first day. He goes in there to tell me, "Oh, it's a girl 9 months pregnant here and she ain't complain that she barking." That's okay. >> All right. Stand up, Tiffany. >> For what? Just >> put your hands by your desk. >> For what? >> Stand up. >> On September 7th, 2023, police were called to a McDonald's after reports of a new employee causing chaos on her very first day. What they uncovered about this woman was far from simple. >> Um, yes, the manager in here is acting up. >> He right up. They just ganged up on me and this man right here put his hands in my face, his fingers in my face. I want the camera back. I want him arrested. >> Okay. Can you go sit over there, please? >> Can you go sit over there, please? >> Yeah. I'm going to go. I just want I want the camera ran back. >> Go sit down, please. >> Okay. Thank you. Can I have longest from back there? Cuz they won't let me get my stuff. >> Go sit down, please. >> He didn't let you. >> Come on. Just >> All right. >> Okay. Do you have cameras in here? >> Yes. But she has I've been trying to get her to work all day. I've been asking her nicely and everything. She has not wanted to do anything. And when I found when she ripped I'm fed up with this. Where's the male that that she's looking towards? >> He's out there talking to the other officer. Okay. >> Nobody's >> Okay. So, we've been telling her multiple times to clock out and go home. >> Okay. >> Multiple time. Now, >> now I'm on I'm on I called my supervisor to tell her to go home. >> And she still right here arguing, picking fights with everybody in here. >> What's she doing to pick fights? She just >> She She just walking on. >> Yeah. She just walk around. She just walk around. Oh, I'm tired of this. Nobody has touched her. We just trying to every If everybody else has to work, she has to work. Yes, I understand she's pregnant. >> Okay. >> I have a whole another employee that's f to have our baby in a few weeks and she still works like she's not pregnant. I understand everybody is different, but nobody put their hands on her. He didn't. >> Was the victim really a pregnant woman claiming she was assaulted or was an entire crew just trying to deal with a chaotic new hire? Let's find out. like me. That's exactly what it is. He just put his hands and mugged me three times in my goddamn face and I want him arrested. >> I want him charged and I'm going put his hands on me. >> Okay. Well, >> and they all ganging up calling the other corporate district manager telling them bull happened. That's because they don't want me working here cuz they're ghetto ratch. >> Hey, stop. You need to calm down. Customers everywhere calling students in here. So the incident started because she doesn't want to work. >> Yes. And she's been asked multiple time between me and him nicely in the best in in the best way of manner that professional way. Nobody cussed at her and nobody been fussing at her. >> Okay. >> She didn't want when I asked her. So you know what? Just clock out and go home and leave. >> I'm not going nowhere. I'm not going anywhere. I'm not even clocked in. She's recording me >> and everything. So all I've been ask her was to leave. That's all. >> And so that's when the >> Yeah. And she started talking about I'm nothing. and I'm below her and she was going to have my job and then my mom said just leave on the phone with our supervisor. >> A former employee said Tiffany, the new hire, refused to work and argued with everyone. When reminded of her duties, she began yelling and smashing things, forcing them to call the police. The store manager still seemed stunned by her behavior. >> I'm going to hit this all stuff like that. And I'm on the phone with the supervisor. The supervisor said, "Um, if y'all guys want to come up here tomorrow, y'all can pull the camera." I'm standing right here on the phone with the supervisor telling her to go home. She picked up three four items. Walked up to me and act and did just like this like she's going to hit me. She trying to pick a fight with the other manager telling big let's go outside fight. And she was like, "No, you pregnant. I'm not going to fight you. You pregnant." Now this when she called y'all and saying that I put my hands on her and I ain't even touch her. We've been telling her multiple times to go home and she will not go home. >> So she didn't like the fact that y'all were telling her to go home. She just started acting. >> Yeah. This is her first day. >> Her first day. >> Yes. We tell her what's wrong with me. I don't even know her, bro. >> We telling her multiple times, please just go home. >> Please just go home. >> Tell them not walking around complaining. >> For real. >> That's it. >> She been behind the counter. >> If you look right here behind the counter, it's nobody like it's a lot of right here. >> She picked up one of the little the little carts little thing right here. Witnesses said Tiffany suddenly snapped, grabbed a tray, and threw it toward the manager while shouting that they were jealous and discriminatory. She insisted she was the victim while her co-workers just wanted her out of the store. >> Mad at me because um I can't even remember whatever I said her. She told me to go home and clock out because I said something. The manager, Javon, the one that bugged me in my face three times, his brother is Jamar. They're both cooks. He's out here. He comes to me and yells at me cuz I was stringing up my shoes whenever I got to work. I was putting my laces in my shoe. So, I went out there just juggling. I said, "If y'all are going to pick on me, then I'm going to talk y'all. If y'all going to sit out there and smoke weed and cigarettes and stuff, I'm going to write down the time and I'm going to tell the manager." Point blank period. If y'all going to pick at me, I'm going to pick back at y'all. So, if y'all want to go out there and smoke weed, that's fine. I'm going to record it and I'm going to say something about it. >> So, she comes in there and says, "Oh, that's not your business. That's not your business." If he out there smoking weed, that's not your business. You can clock out and go home. >> Okay? >> So, I can clock out and go home because I went out there and said to him, "Oh, because you're you're the manager's brother. You can do what you want to." Basically, you can sit out there smoke once and cigarette for 5 10 minutes as many times as you want, but I can't sit down and rest and I'm pregnant. And he goes in there to tell me, "Oh, it's a girl not much pregnant here and she ain't complain that she working." >> Okay. >> They're picking on me because for one, I'm like then they're out here ghetto and ratchet and >> that's why they don't like me. >> Stop. >> That's it. >> All right. So, what physically? >> Tiffany kept arguing that the manager yelled at her, then accused her manager of smoking weed and targeting her. But when police checked the security cameras, the truth quickly came to light. >> McDonald's. She's trying to get camera footage pulled up now. being pushed back to leave. >> Okay. Did she touch him at all with the >> No, she didn't actually touch him, but she >> she just threatened it. >> She threatened him. That's why he put his finger in her face. >> Okay. >> But after that, nothing else happened from that angle. And I'm just telling her to go back. Um, let's see. >> Well, let me let me see this for a second. Let me watch how long things happen. Okay. And do you guys want her barred? >> Yeah, she needs to be barred. And you see right here, I'm calm and talking to her calmly. And >> when reviewing the footage, police saw Tiffany charging with a plastic tray while the manager only raised his hand to block. He never touched her and her excuses about being pregnant no longer earned any sympathy. >> Get away from me. >> That's okay. >> Get away from me with your ghetto. >> Tiffany, >> sorry. No good. Nothing. >> Tiffany, do you understand your bard? >> That's okay. >> All right. Stand up, Tiffany. >> For what? >> Just put your hands by your back. Stand up. >> For what? Stand up. >> What is you putting my hands behind my back? >> Stand up. Going to jail. Okay. >> For what? >> What am I going to jail for? >> Simple assault. >> Oh, cuz you grabbed those menus and tried to hit him with it. >> No, I didn't. Y'all, I did not tried to hit him. Y'all really going to sit here and take me to jail in front of these people. Y'all are really going to humiliate me like that. >> Not and it don't mean anything. >> Like, what in the hell, man? >> You good? You got it. >> Sorry. You got it. If >> you'll just put it on my finger. I'll take it. >> And there goes her phone. >> Everything on the ground now. >> Jesus Christ. >> Hey, hold on. You want to hold some more? [laughter] >> You just jump on my back. >> Go this way. >> How am I going to jail for simple assault? I'm 6 months pregnant and I'm high risk pregnancy. How are they charging me with simple assault whenever you threaten me? >> I mean you and threatened to hit in. >> No, I didn't. >> Meaning is 911. >> I didn't threaten to hit watched it. We watched it. >> I picked up the menus. I did not threaten to hit him. >> Okay. >> What about the threat? They threaten me. >> Leaning against that 911. >> Yeah, you could see on video picking up the menus and coming after him with it. >> Can I ask you something? >> I got to read something. >> What about the threat that they gave to me? >> What about the threats that they threatened me? >> Got it. Church. >> Yo, that's not right. >> Somebody's face last week and got arrested then, too. >> No, I wasn't. I've never been in any trouble here other than stealing from Walmart. >> Will you put your Will you come over here for me? You have anything on you? >> Pay me to jail. >> Yeah. >> Why are you charging me? >> Because I saw video. >> So, but he You're not going to charge him for sit down, please. I'm not going to tell you again. >> No, because I'm not Why he hit me. Next, this entitled woman turned herself into a [music] laughingstock. >> She told me was that they asked you to leave and you got nasty and were swearing and just making a fuzz. >> Say, "Stop. What are you doing? You like >> Stop kicking me. >> On April 6th, 2022, officers were dispatched to a bustling shopping mall after reports of a disruptive woman causing chaos inside a retail store. But the drama didn't end there. Not even close. Let's dive in and see what happened [music] next. What's going on? >> Okay. Has she stole anything? >> No. >> Excuse me, ma'am. The big problem is they want you to leave. They've asked you to leave. This is a private business. They can ask anybody to leave that they want to leave. >> I can't come back. >> Uh well, they do want to trespass you, I believe. But um the most important thing is if a business owner asks you to leave, you're supposed to leave the premises. You can actually be arrested. >> He actually told me that he wasn't the owner and that he was just a manager. >> Well, the manager said she had she had asked you to leave as well. Bottom line is though, if a business asks you to leave, you have to leave. It's a private business. They can do that. Someone can do it at their house, too. We are not welcome. >> Okay. >> What seemed destined to end quickly when she agreed to step outside was shattered the [music] moment the security gate alarm revealed the situation was anything but simple. >> The state of Florida prefers in cases like this that we issue what's called a trespass warning. That's basically a civil Not shocking. >> Was that their Was that their uh >> Do you want to follow up on that? >> Well, she's trespassed one, so she could do anything. >> She beat whenever she walked out. Yet, she still refused to let the officers touch her bag, making the situation tense. >> These are my pants. My sweat pants. >> Okay, hold on. I need you to put this down for me. I don't want you reaching in there anymore. Stop right now. >> Get off my bag. >> Let go. Let go, Jasine. >> Get off my bag, bro. Jasmine, you need to let go my bag. Relax. Get off my bag. >> Relax. Let go of the bag. I'm going to search. >> Stop touching me and get the off my bag. >> If you don't relax. >> Hey. Hey. Stop. >> There's gun right here. Can you take it out? >> It took more than two officers just to escort this single woman out of the store. Her own actions had earned her this privilege in the most negative way possible. >> Y'all got my titties and everything. >> That's on you, Jess. >> Stop that. She hurt. Stop >> walking it too. >> Walk. >> Turn her this way and drag her. Stop trying to twist it. >> That's from you. >> That's from you. >> She's going to fall, though.
