On the 12th of July 2025, officers were dispatched to a Family Dollar store after reports of a woman causing a disturbance. The incident began when she demanded a refund for the money she had spent on a pack of gum and a cashback transaction. I don't I Listen, I don't what nobody talking about. That money came off my card and I need it back on my card. The store was willing to refund what was eligible, but the cashback transaction could not be reversed. The woman refused to accept that explanation. And from that moment on, the situation quickly escalated. >> Don't know what to say. >> What's your name? >> None. >> Okay. Well, they want you trespass from here. So, I >> Okay. That's not mine. >> That's called stealing. >> Well, here's the thing. >> That's called stealing. >> This is what they got for you right now. >> I need refund my money on my car. They >> going to refund it? >> No, they can't refund. >> Yes, they can. Yes, they can. Yes, they can. Yes, they can. Yes, they can. >> So, we need your name so we can trespass. >> I don't know my name and I don't got no ID. >> Put your hands. The woman clearly refused to comply with the officer's lawful requests. As a result, they decided to place her under arrest, but the situation was far from a smooth one. You >> okay? >> You cannot trust Listen, >> don't be dumb. Don't be dumb. >> You're not going to cooperate? >> No, I ain't tripping. >> I don't got no name, though. >> Get my phone, babe. >> We'll take it. Thank you. >> I need that. >> No, you don't. All this over my money. >> Let's make this. >> They gave me your money. >> NO, THE LADY JUST SAID THAT THEY can refund me. This was the direct consequence of the woman's own choices. Yet, she seemed unwilling to acknowledge any wrongdoing. Instead, she continued arguing as if her pride simply would not allow her to admit defeat. >> Said it. I PROMISE YOU. HERE, >> I PROMISE YOU, G. I promise you, sir. >> They had the money. >> Listen. Listen. Okay, look. I went in. I was getting cash back, right? I was trying. My goal was to get $20 cash back. They told me I could not get 20. Only 25. I told the man, I said, "I only have $12 left on the car." He said, "Take $150 to charge." I said, "I have the penny in the car." He said, "You can go get it." >> I went to go get the penny. I went back in. The man said, "Oh, well, with cash back, you cannot use any change. You have to use the money that's on the car." I said, "I'm short a penny. I just asked you this before I left out." >> So, they had Hold on. So, they had a $10 bill and a penny with it. >> Yeah. No, no, no, no, no. It was supposed to be 10 cent. It was supposed to be 10 cent. The $10 bill came from the first time I did cash back. If you listen, they said I could not get the whole 20 off only 25. I didn't have 25. I had 24. >> I had $24 and change. >> So, I took off 10. It took 1204. And I was trying to take off the other 10, but I was short a penny. The man said I could go get the penny out of the car. >> I went to go get the penny and I came back and he said he changed his mind. He said, "I couldn't." He said I couldn't. So I said, "Can I get a refund?" He said, "No." I said, "Well, can you go get the manager cuz I know for a fact I can get a refund as long as I got my receipt." They called the manager. The manager said, "Yeah." The man called the man with the glasses, Paul, called y'all. The police, he said, "He don't got time for this and all of that." Called the police. I said, "Call. I'm not doing nothing." >> I talked to the manager on the phone. She said she couldn't refund you the cash. >> She's saying that now cuz you was here. I'm telling you. She had the $10 for it. >> I'm telling you, if if you would have never came >> The woman was charged with obstructing and resisting arrest. Pride and stubbornness can turn a simple problem into a criminal charge. Refusing to cooperate only makes a bad situation worse, while accepting reality and staying calm often leads to a better outcome. Sometimes the biggest mistake is letting ego stand in the way of common sense. Next, this woman turned Walmart into the place where she unleashed her rage. >> So, she want to go to the shop. No, [laughter] no, no. I sit down. >> Come on. >> I said my phone. >> Sit down in the chair. >> It ain't going to be a player. >> SIT. GET UP. STAND UP. >> Sit down. >> On the 30th of March 2026, police received a report from Walmart about a woman causing a disturbance inside the store. Even after being asked to leave multiple times, she refused to go. When officers arrived at the scene, employees there gave some statements about what had happened. She had a little altercation with our association free. So now she's trying to say the register. So I'm going to go ahead and call the authorities to have you don't want to leave. So right now she's trying to prove that the register. Yeah. I don't know what she's doing, but I I would like her to leave. >> Hello, ma'am. >> So, I guess they told you they want you to leave. >> Well, what she did was her name Hannah Hannah. >> What she did was she went and got DJ, which is their uh I don't know. He didn't say he was offering, but he did say he was into he said he was doing another investigation, but she came and told Kim that I was walking and I walked out the store its >> woman denied the accusations from the employees, but because the store wanted her removed, officers continued telling her to leave. However, it seemed that was not going to be easy. >> Look, they want they want you out of the store. Let's go. You You got to go to Shackford. >> Go to Shackford. >> They want you trespass from the store and they want you to leave. That's simple. >> Why? >> That's simple. All you do is got to leave. >> Why? >> Because they want you to. >> Why? Hannah don't have to leave. >> Isn't she an employee here? >> No. See, there she is right here. Look. That's >> Oh, >> so you got to face. >> Well, look, they want you to leave. That's it. Simple. >> I don't want to leave. I want to stop. >> Well, do you got your ID on you? >> Yeah. Can I say it real quick? >> Well, I don't want to go through your per here. Hold on. >> Where's your ID at? >> It's uh right here. >> Or which side? No. See? >> So, Miss Crystal Murphy. >> Yes, sir. And as you see, I made a purchase today. >> Yeah, I see that. refusing to leave after they told you to leave. >> Well, because I'm here as a shopper, right? I come here all the time. >> Basically, like this is a second home. This is where I shop, right? >> And you can't just choose like a different Walmart. >> Why should I have to? >> Because this is a private business. You understand that, right? >> No, they advertise to the public's house. The woman believed Walmart was a public place, so she claimed they had no right to force her out. Even though officers tried explaining the situation, she still deliberately refused to leave as the tension continued getting worse. >> Private property. You're refusing to leave this private property. That's trespass. >> I have business here. >> Not anymore. >> Uh they asked me that I want to continue my business. I told them, "Yeah, you were calling." >> Yes. And I'm telling you as a law enforcement officer, you have to leave or you will be arrested. You understand that? >> Under what? Criminal trespass statute reads to to remain unlawfully on property. This is private property. They have the right to tell you you need to leave for a while. I just read it to you. I just said it. That's what the statute is. >> Okay. What did Crystal L. Murphy do? >> You're on property after you've been told to leave multiple times. >> Why was I told to leave? But they don't they have the right to say as soon as you walk through those doors they don't want you here. It doesn't matter what you do. It doesn't matter how you do it. So there's a sign of they say that that if they say just an employee can say hey they don't come in the store. >> Any employee can refuse service to anybody. >> No. Where is it in here that where they were already serving me? >> It doesn't have to be put on paper. >> She wasn't serious. It doesn't have to be put on paper. It doesn't have it doesn't have >> cuz I know what y'all talking about. Y'all talking about that is what we >> So, are you refusing to leave the business? >> Are you refusing to leave the business? >> Refuse to leave what business. What's the name of Walmart? >> Are you refusing to leave Walmart after you've been told to leave? >> The woman's behavior only dragged the situation out longer than necessary. Officers were no longer willing to let it continue, so they finally took action. But what happened next quickly turned into complete chaos. >> I told you what it's for. Is it stealing? >> Okay, right now it's not stealing. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Since you want to go this [screaming] >> Put your hands behind your back. Do it now. >> Put your hands behind my back. >> Put your HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> HANDS behind my back, sir. Officer Laz, this is what y'all want to do. You've been ease dropping on my phone call and this what you want to do. >> Stop. Stop. >> Just put your hand back. I did. Yo, do what y'all wanted. Yo yo yo, this what y'all wanted. Look at right there. I'm not moving. Y'all see I love y'all beat me out my shoes. >> Yeah, Y'ALL BEAT ME OUT MY SHOES. >> Little Rock, Arkansas race. >> OFFICER L. >> YEAH. >> YEAH. Talk to my car. Come on. You only got her phone. >> Yeah. AND MY POCKET BOOK. It's in your pocket. Huh? >> This what y'all wanted to do. LOOK AT MY FOOT. LEG is hurt. TOUCH IT. TOUCH MY KNEECAP. Just dang me up. >> It was clear this was the result of her own choices, but she refused to realize that. Instead, she became even more arrogant, acting like she was the victim while continuing to make the situation more difficult. >> No. I need emergency vehicle. I need emergency vehicles. I need emergency vehicle. I need emergency vehicle. Don't let me get that. Don't do that. >> I GOT TO STRETCH OUT. [screaming] >> I GOT TO sit down. >> Get in the seat and sit down. Stand up. >> Stand up. >> Hold on. Let me stand up. >> Stand up. >> Hey, my knee hurts. >> Touch my knee. Touch your feet in the car. TOUCH MY KNEE. >> SIT DOWN. >> TOUCH MY KNEE. Touch this. Touch my knee. Okay. Sit down. Sit down in the chair. >> It ain't going to be, player. >> SIT. GET UP. GET UP. SIT DOWN. >> GET UP. BUT IT AIN'T GOING TO BE. >> PUT YOUR BUTT in that chair. >> Yo, I don't want to do this. >> Thank you. No, you got to keep it straight. You got to KEEP IT STRAIGHT. YOU DON'T WANT TO BANG IT ON NO MOUTH. GOLLY, she had a gun on her. In the end, she could face charges such as criminal trespass, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and assault on an officer. [music] Refusing to cooperate and continuing to escalate a situation can quickly turn a simple warning into multiple criminal charges. >> LOOK THE OTHER WAY. WALK BACKWARDS. >> YOUR HANDS BEHIND your head. >> Grab her. Grab her. Cover her up. To your right. To your right. On October 9th in Florida, a perfume package worth over $11,000 was stolen from an Alto beauty store in broad daylight. The surprise was that the items had hidden GPS trackers because of recent thefts. Deputies tracked the signal and quickly closed in on the suspects, leading to a chaotic traffic stop. >> Belly stop, guys. Belly stop. Belly stop. Half HP. Half HP. Back. Back to your back. Harvey, YOU GOT SIDE COUNT. WALK TO ME. LOOK THE OTHER WAY. WALK BACKWARDS. Now the car. >> Take her over to you. You stay on the car. Keep coming. >> All the way back. All the way back. Keep coming. Keep coming. Keep >> interlock your hands behind your head. Just grab her. Grab her. Cover her up. a fewbody else in the car. How many people? >> Two female suspects were surrounded and taken into custody right away at an intersection in Boca Raton. Clearly, this was never part of their plan. Right. >> Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. >> Your hands on back. Keep going back. Keep going. Stay. >> Keep walking backwards. Keep going. Two steps TO YOUR RIGHT. TWO STEPS to your right. >> Keep coming back. Keep coming back. >> Walk backwards. >> Keep coming back. Keep coming back. >> Anybody else? >> They said nobody else. >> No one else car. >> It's your car. >> Yeah. >> And nobody else in position in the vehicle. Easy. >> Officers searched the car and then questioned the suspects. While one seemed cooperative, the other showed clear irritation. >> Trunk. >> Yeah. >> Trump, guys. Trump. >> And we'll open up the front lanes. >> Good. For a minute. I'll try to clear this up real quick. >> All right. I got nothing coming up with that thing. That's why you say the first word. >> Spell it again. >> T Am S H >> A N. >> Okay. >> Harris. >> Spell last name. >> H A R R I. >> Paris. You said Paris. >> Do you actually have a driver's license? >> Yeah, I do. >> Huh? >> Yeah, I do. >> Active or not active? >> I'm not sure. It should be active. >> Okay. >> How you say your first name is ana. >> Anqua. >> All right. I'm going read you Miranda. All right. Be honest, sweetheart. Let's not go through a bunch of foolishness and try to, you know, it is what it is. Today's done. Let's try to figure out how we can move forward from there. All right. >> Fair. >> How old are you? >> 23. >> 23. >> It's your mom's name. >> Is it your mom's name? Who drives it mostly? The two women, Toshen and Edqua, said they borrowed their mother's car to visit a boyfriend, but evidence proved [music] they went to the store to steal. And what deputies found inside the car will leave you surprised. >> Stop anywhere before between there and here. >> Huh? >> No. >> Huh? >> All right. Just All right. Just so we could we could wrap this up since if that's the this way you want to play it. I'm I'm trying to be nice because obviously, like I say, lying makes things worse and it affects how I go about doing my business, right? Told me whatever foolishness she wanted to tell. Definitely make a phone call for for you once you once we clear the scene, but I can't let you talk to her while we >> just want to ask for something. >> Yeah. I'm sorry. I can't I can't do that right now while we out here. >> You ever been arrested before? Yeah. So, my gun and dropped it. >> All right. Something This ain't an everyday thing for you, right? You ain't You ain't trying to be no jailbird, you know? Make this make it be a career, right? All right. So, let's try to clean this up while we got a chance right here. So, run me through today before all this started. Where were we coming from? >> Inside the suspect's car, deputies found dozens of high-end perfumes, proving the theft was no impulse. Even more surprising, Edwa was young but already had a criminal record and carried a weapon. Soon after both women were taken to the station, but I got to talk to my boy. Okay. >> All right. Good luck to you. All right. Let's take it out the store. Shopping cart. Plastic bag. What? >> In the carts. >> In the carts. Did you guys put them inside of a bag before or you just left them out in the cart? >> It's in the cart. >> Okay. >> Good luck to you. I hope it works out. >> You keep saying that like it's going to go bad or something. >> I know. Listen, man. Hey, I'm I'm just being honest with you. >> No, you keep saying like it's going to go bad. It's all talk. That's what you >> No, no, no, no, no. I'm just saying I hope it works out for you. >> Uh, in the end, Tashan and Adeka were officially charged with grand theft valued between $10,000 and $20,000. After the trial, both were sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay over $1,200 in court costs and fines. The case of [music] Tashan and Adiqua is a clear reminder. A moment of greed can ruin your future. No matter the scheme, every crime eventually pays the price in front of the law. Before moving on to the next shoplifter, take a look at this chaotic scene. >> I'm working the road. >> I know I'm married to I was married to a cop. I know. >> I can't move. >> I'm telling you right now. Open the door. >> Open the door. >> Open the door. >> On the 27th of September 2024, police conducted a traffic stop over a traffic violation. But the situation quickly turned far from simple when the suspect's mother arrived on scene, causing tensions to your car. >> Okay. You were not the street. >> He just told me to stand right here. >> That's not a brake light, ma'am. That's not a brake light. >> What's out? >> So, so who's the sergeant? >> Who's the sergeant? So, all of y'all NOT ONE SERGEANT SHOW. I KNOW she asked for a sergeant. I know. Hey, get the car. Get the car. >> I know she asked for a sergeant cuz that was So, which one y'all didn't give sergeant? She did not. >> I was on the phone. >> What you talking about? Oh, yeah. You need to get out of the road before you get in trouble, too. >> You need We'll get you a supervisor if you going wait inside your vehicle. Wait one more time. >> I'll wait right here. >> Okay. I'm in a >> Will you uh will you do me a huge favor? >> Will you do me a huge favor? >> Will you do me a huge favor? Just stay away from your door. Either get in or stay away just cuz I don't want cars coming up. >> Okay. What else is there? So you don't have So you don't have to pull over. >> We're not at your apartment. >> We're not I'm not here. >> We're going to get our We're going to get our answer. I'm not yelling. I'm talking. There's cars coming. The mother became extremely agitated, acting as if she fully understood the law, forcing officers to struggle to keep the situation under control. >> So, basically, to give my rundown of what I'm >> Am I not having a problem? Do you not see this as a problem? >> Can I both yall come over here? >> Come. Hey, come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. All right. No, you can come here. Come here. Hey, come here. No. No. Come here. Come here. Come here. Come here. Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am. Ma'am, you're coming at me. You're not going to do that. >> Back up. Back up. You're coming at me. >> I need You're not You're coming at me. >> Tell her to back up. She keeps coming up to us. >> Can we go to the front of y'all's car? Please >> tell her to back up. Do it now. Do it now. If you're at me, tell her to back up. >> Will y'all come to >> Tell her to back up. >> Will y'all come to the front of y'all's car? >> Can you tell her to shut up? >> Can y'all just give me a second, y'all? Give me a second. All right. Come on. Come on. >> All right. Come on. Come on. Come on. >> Come on, y'all. >> Come on. Come Come up here. Come holl at me. >> Come holl at me. All right. Okay. From my understanding. Okay. I'm on patrol today. Okay. These are investigators. They usually do on certain cases. They do ride quite a few investigators in one car. Yeah. >> Okay. They performed a traffic stop. Um daughter, right? >> Yes. >> Okay. That's not familiar. Whether they need it, you can't even ask them because they want to see here and they don't want to answer nothing. >> I'm working the road today. Okay. >> I know. I'm married to I was married to a cop. I know. >> All right. They called me out here because investigators, they don't usually carry around ticket books. >> So, y'all gave her a ticket for life and >> all that? I didn't I They just asked for the paper. >> You know why? You know why? Because they want proof of why they stopped her. >> The mother refused to stop arguing, claiming she was being treated unfairly. Moments later, she aggressively escalated the confrontation, almost as if she was warning the officers. >> But I got a question for you. >> Okay. Go ahead. >> If I come at you like this, are you going to be afraid? >> No. >> If I come at you, why is it okay she comes at me? Why is it okay that every that she walked up here to us and if I walk there, she goes, "You can get arrested, too." I was in the I had he asked me to move it out of the road. He goes, she goes, "You had to get in here. you. >> What I what I will say and in and as is nonbiased as possible, I'm not going to condone anybody's behavior out here thus far. Okay. >> Can we hear that? >> Yes. But don't don't surround my daughter and don't ask when I was on the phone. >> Uhhuh. >> And I'm on the phone and I hear none of them get a sergeant. We're I come from Jackson and I still haven't got a sergeant out here 30 minutes. >> I That's something I was also unaware of. Okay. I was unaware of the notifications. >> They even talked They even talked to her father. He's a police officer. >> Uh They they didn't do nothing about it. They're still sitting here like a I mean >> what you need to do if you have any decision about >> Where's the sergeant? >> Why they call? >> Um I guess by way is it okay? And I'm not trying to call. Why is it every time a white girl and a black guy get together? There is a problem down here. I understand. But they say something every time to her with a black guy. >> Every time I get >> It's 2020 why I have a black guy in my car. >> She's done got pulled over like three times. >> This is my family. like this is my family. Is it because we're different colors? Like they have >> Do you have uh So, how many times does that happen? >> Three. >> She even dragged race into the situation despite it having nothing to do with the original traffic violation. Her behavior only became more reckless afterward, and moments later, the entire scene erupted into chaos. >> Ma'am, ma'am, I want to know questions and ma'am, ma'am, you have to answer them. Ma'am, ma'am, you have to answer them. >> She step over there. >> No, she come at me and do nothing. >> I'm asking you to step over. did the same thing and you didn't do nothing. >> I'm giving you an order to step over there. >> I asked her to step away from me. >> Step over there. >> I want y'all's information >> and we will give it to you once our sergeant come. >> When is your sergeant coming? You got to >> Can you step over there? That's the last I'm leaving. >> Step over there. >> Can you get your first calm down? >> No. Get off of me. She cannot GRAB ME LIKE THIS. SHE CANNOT GRAB ME LIKE THIS. She cannot grab me like this. >> Okay. Okay. But I'm going to go 108. Okay, >> bro. Tell No. Get somebody else out. Get out of town. Get in your car. Yeah. I'm going to the place. >> You can't touch me. Stop. Let go. Let go. If I'm reception, I'm not trying to get off. >> I don't know how they're good. When I asked her multiple times to step back >> and pilot was like, "I'm going 10." Like, "We did something wrong." >> Why are supervisors here? Back up. Supervising nothing about it. >> What do you want with me, man? >> I want to know one, why my daughter was pulled over. Two, why they were at her apartment. Are you part of this record? >> Their attitude made it seem like they were fully prepared to challenge the police no matter the consequences. And that reckless behavior eventually led to obstruction charges. Yet, they still refused to back down. >> I ain't driving. I can't I can't do. >> Do you want to go with your mom? She's going regardless. Do you want to go with your mom? >> Do you want to go with your mom? You was about to be on your way. >> Artist is extra. >> You was about to be on your way. Artist is extra. >> Close your door. I'll go ahead and talk to you. >> You pulled up on a traffic stop. >> I was asking a question. Sir, >> do you have anyone that can drive? >> I was asking a question BECAUSE THEY WERE AT MY DAUGHTER'S HOUSE. OKAY. You can't pull up on a traffic stop and interfere with law. >> Yeah. Look, it took me to get here. I come all the way from Jackson to 2011 here and you still haven't showed up. >> I'm telling you, if I would have heard your daughter asking for a cop, she got my husband on the phone. He's a police. My ex-husband. He's a police officer. >> She said, "Can I have a sergeant?" >> Sir, ma'am, I promise on my I promise on my daddy's she was talking. She was talking. She said, "Ma'am, ma'am." So, it's one of y'all. >> Can you please I was not trying to interrupt you, but I was asking a question. >> Get out the car. I'm under arrest. >> Oh, you hurt me. You get off. >> Both women were arrested for obstruction and taken to jail. Actions driven by anger and emotion during a police encounter can quickly turn a simple situation into serious criminal charges. >> I'm outside cuz I'm going to her up. >> So, you don't know who she is? >> I DON'T KNOW WHO THAT GIRL IS. >> OH, they just want to take me to jail. >> Yes, you're going to jail. Okay, you are under arrest. Okay, we're trying. >> I'M GOING TO WALK. WHAT THE are you talking about? >> On November 10th, 2025, officers received a report from a Chipotle about a fight that had occurred inside. For more details, listen to the statement from this employee. >> What happened? >> I was in the store. They came in arguing. I thought they were going to go their separate directions. They did not. They kept continued fighting. So, I got involved and I was like, "Girl, it's not >> Who who was the primary aggressor, do you think?" Like, who was really >> They were both going at it. They were both aggressing each other. >> All right. >> And then the fight started. >> She just left from the back. She opened our back door and so you probably Okay. >> Hello. Hi, I'm Officer S with Brookdale Police Department. You mind to tell me what's going on today? So that way we can let us know who that white girl is. When she just swung on me, so I'mma beat her ass. >> Okay. So I >> like I told them. >> Okay. So I wasn't here, right? So my name's Officer Sanger. Some people call me Milky. What's your name? When you're ready. Okay. >> All right. You can. >> I don't want to talk. I see red right now. I want to fight. I DON'T CARE TO TALK. I WANT TO FIGHT. I DID NOT TOUCH THAT GIRL. SHE PUT HER HANDS ON ME. I'M GOING TO HER UP. I DON'T WANT TO TALK. I WANT TO FIGHT. STOP TALKING TO ME. >> It was clear that although officers approached her calmly, she chose to handle the situation through wrongful violence. At that moment, she revealed the story behind it. >> BECAUSE MY FRIEND PULLED INTO A parking spot. So, she gets out the car talking. So I'm like, "What the are you talking about? You this mad over parking spot." SO I'M LIKE, "GIRL, WHAT THE ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?" We in the place. We in there arguing. She swing on me AND SHE'S TRYING TO RUN. SO I GRAB THAT BY HER HAIR and I start tagging her ass. SO WHEN SHE COME OUT, I'mma up. >> Okay. So how did you get the the mark on your lip? Did she do that? She punched you in the face. >> That's what I just said. >> Okay. Sorry, I didn't completely understand the wording that you used. Okay. >> Who are you? All right. You guys together? Are you okay with her? >> Stop actually talking to me. >> Oh my god, bro. [screaming] >> Okay. >> Where is she at? >> Are you friends? >> What's her name? >> No. No. No. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. >> Okay. Okay. >> I need you to know. NO. NO. NO. NO. WAIT. YOU NEED TO TAKE A I can't. >> Because the woman had completely lost control of her mind, her statement was difficult to trust. So, officers proceeded to gather testimonies from several other witnesses. >> I saw a cluster of three or four girls all had each other by the hair, beating the [ __ ] out of each other. >> Okay. >> And first I saw a guy who was like backing up like this in the corner, like didn't want nothing to do with it. And then I pan over, >> see the group of girls. At least one or two of them worked there. >> Okay. And the guy eventually went over and pulled one of the chicks off and then everything from there was kind of like below the sighteline of the tables and I couldn't see. >> Okay, I appreciate it. Did you see a fight? >> I didn't see the fight, but I saw what happened originally. >> Okay, what happened originally? >> Um, sorry for my descriptive terms. The white girl comes >> walking up. I was already just sitting here eating. The white girl comes walking up in the back of the parking lot and the other girl that's [laughter] yelling out front >> and she's already walking and she's the white girl is going >> what did the white do you know what the white girl was wearing? >> Um black hoodie and baggy sweatpants and there was a red >> black hoodie baggy sweatpants. >> Um like a baggy a red. >> Hey, we're going to go check >> and I think she's still in the bullet. I haven't seen her walk out. >> Okay, >> maybe she's in the bathroom or something. I don't know. Okay. But >> um she was the one that walked up first yelling, "Girl, what's wrong with you? What's wrong with you?" And she kind of >> returning to the suspect, she had become calmer, and officers attempted to explain what needed to be done to resolve the situation quickly for her. >> She got upset, came in, and swung at you, caused this, and then she tried to run away, so you stopped her. >> Yeah, that's what I said. >> Okay. Well, I need to confirm what you said, okay? cuz I don't want to make I don't want to have any information wrong. >> Are you waiting her here because you want to fight her? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, if that's the case, then I'm going to have to prevent you from doing that. Okay. Cuz we're not going to have a fight. We're not going to have a physical altercation where you're waiting to fight her. Okay. Now, if she needs to go to jail today for what she did, then I need you to work with me to tell you what's go tell me what's going on. Okay? If she's the one who caused the problem today, we want to do something about that. Okay. >> Okay. So, go find her then. >> Well, I can't find out what she looks like. I don't know. >> We're trying to help you to prevent you from getting in trouble. We're trying to [snorts] see you do this to you to make sure you're not at fault. If you don't want to work with us, that's an issue for you. We're trying to help. Do you want to work with us or not? Cuz if your solution to this is fighting her, that's not going to end well for anyone here. So, do [snorts] you want to work with us or not? We're going to help you. >> We're just going to be stubborn. >> I already told y'all what I want. No, you didn't. So, you said I want to beat her ass. >> We can't do that. Can't do that. We can't watch that. Then automatically you have to go to jail. Is that what you want to do? You want to go to jail? >> You see in red right now? I get it. You're hot in the head. I get it. But did you take a breath? >> Meanwhile, another officer gathered statements from the store employees and obtained their decision regarding what had happened. >> Gray sweater. >> What else? >> Sweatpants. >> Uh-huh. >> And then she was about yay high. Like just a bit taller than me. >> Okay. >> And then she had blonde like yellowish hair. Okay. >> And then >> that's all I can describe. And then she had um that was really Oh, her keys. She had um >> she had this like towel character on her she on her towel character on her keychain. >> She was like towel. >> Yeah, like a towel on her keychain. >> Okay. I'm trying to see if I can get video footage. They don't have access to it at the moment. >> Oh, really? >> Um >> um she But that girl supposedly they were in here when when they fought, so I want to see the footage. >> I thought I went outside. No, they went outside after the fight. Apparently something about parking. She came in here and then swung at her and then she went to run away so she grabbed her and threw her down. [snorts] >> Who threw her down? This girl threw her down. >> Yes. >> After she The other girl swung at her >> after the other girl. You see the her her lip and her thing after she swung at her. >> He does. Okay. Can I see? >> I mean, you don't really Oh, yeah. There you go. Oh [ __ ] >> And then the girls on the right. >> Do you mind if I re look at it? >> Yeah. Okay. Still haymaker. >> Yeah. So >> I heard I seen you mar. I was like I don't think I >> Thank you guys. Thank you everybody. >> We can trespass both of them. >> Sure. >> Please. I'll let them know. Can I have your >> new one? Because the other one we >> The other one's gone. I can't trespass. Somebody's not here. Can >> I like my >> your ID? Yeah. >> Like my license ID? >> Yes, please. >> That's how I trespass somebody is I need You're considered the manager. >> Still waiting on this. >> At that moment, officers explained the trespass decision from the store. Yet, both suspects seemed indifferent to their wrongdoing, showing no remorse at all. >> Hey, Mariah. You've now been trespassed from the store. or the manager no longer wants you to be here. So, you have to leave the store in the premises. >> Okay. >> How am I going to leave if I don't if I didn't drive? >> Sorry. >> How am I going to leave? >> You can go to the next property or you can go to the sidewalk over there, but you can't stay here. Okay. Would you like to sign a refusal form to say you don't want to prosecute against her with my sergeant? Would you like to? Okay. Well, you don't have to talk to me, but you got to leave. If you come back here within a year to this property, you will be arrested. Okay. >> You're you go right now. Is is uh >> if she don't leave, >> she's going to end she's going to get arrested by [music] somebody here tonight. >> Okay. So, she's got to leave. >> Can I put her? >> Is that her car? >> This is Casey's car, but they came together. >> Okay. Can she drive? >> No, you're good. No, >> I she probably could, but I she's frantic, so I don't know if I was just going to take them and go back to campus and then bring somebody to come get >> Okay, >> so can I put her in that car for right now while >> if she's will if she has to leave, right? >> So that's the biggest thing. She's got to leave. >> That's that's her car, but she's having a panic attack, so she can't drive right now. She's got her. And then she's also willing to take >> Okay. So, do you think it would help >> if I take them right now and then come back and get your phone? >> Yes, that would be the best idea. >> Thank you, Jade. >> Very helpful. >> What seemed like the end did not satisfy the suspects and chaos erupted once again. >> All right. All right. All right, guys. No, no, no. We're not doing this. I DON'T CARE. >> HEY, HEY, HEY, HEY. >> BRO, I'M TRYING TO WALK, >> BRO. >> BRO, call my auntie, bro. >> Is that her? Is that her? >> I'm not talking. >> Okay. Y'all don't got to man. Y'all don't got to man. >> I'm relaxing. >> Call my auntie. >> 561. Not Jade. Can you please get your phone and call my auntie? >> Piss. They just want to take me to jail. >> Yes, you're going to jail. Okay, you are under arrest. Okay, we're trying. >> I'M GOING TO WALK. WHAT THE are you talking about? All y'all are me. I'm 125 [ __ ] pounds. >> This is not what we wanted to do tonight. >> Clearly, it is cuz we doing it. >> I beg you to leave. >> Bro, I was going to walk to school. >> Sorry. You're okay. >> What are you talking about? I don't want to be in no car right now. I want to be by myself and cool the seat. She was charged with trespassing after warning and resisting without violence. Losing control of emotions and choosing violence over cooperation only turned a solvable situation into legal consequence. Next, this woman pulled even more tricks. >> My son was just in an accident. Of course, I'm having a bad day. I'm a little white girl, so you guys don't care that you're ruining my kid. My kid now. On the 24th of March 2026, police received a report from Target about a woman suspected of previous shoplifting returning to the store. This time, employees watched her much more closely. She casually pushed an empty shopping cart into the store and wandered through the electronic section as if nothing was wrong. Even with employees nearby, she acted completely relaxed, chatting and laughing with them naturally. Soon after, she filled her cart with merchandise and took advantage of a moment when staff walked away, pushing the cart toward the exit like nothing had happened. A loss prevention officer quickly stopped her before she could leave. Despite the obvious theft alarm and confrontation, she refused to admit anything and instead began yelling, accusing employees of racism. Even after police arrived on scene, she immediately tried to portray herself as the victim. >> Move over there. Don't be coming up to me like that. You please >> don't come up to me like that. Go over there. >> Oh, you have the pass. >> So, what? >> Um, she has multiple items in her car. >> But is she actually stealing? >> She Yeah, she was walking out and I redirected her to come back to the office when she came to search. >> I had permission to be back there. >> So, she's paying or what? >> I was actually dragged back. >> She's not paying. I don't even She had the option. I don't want her in the store. She's scared and seeing. >> Okay. All right. >> By mail. >> All right. So, come on. What are you doing? >> What? Are you paying for this stuff or what? >> Well, yeah. She says, but I'm trying to see if I'm here. [clears throat] >> All right, but they don't want you in here. This was open. >> They don't want you in here. They're also doing their own. >> Let's go. Come on. >> Let's go. Let's go outside. >> That's what I was trying to do, but then he gave me like, oh, now you're not going to buy anything. I was like, no. I was like, I was in a rush. You know what I mean? >> Does she pass the points of sale and everything? >> With items. >> I got right there, but it was my immediately. >> Let's go. >> Okay. See you there at me. Can you just at least change? >> No, I'm not doing nothing. >> She didn't bring it by personal property. >> The woman thought the police did not know what happened, so she tried paying for the items to act innocent. But moments later, the situation completely changed when officers took a different action. >> My Apple Watch. >> Put that back in there. >> Oh, I don't get an apology. >> Put that back in there. >> No, of course I don't. Cuz I'm >> Put that back in there. >> Right. >> Put that back in there. >> Right. No apology. You were wrong. >> Let's go. Come on. >> I'm not doing anything. >> Come on. Come on. >> Come on. expensive stuff. >> Come on. Come on. >> Sir, can you get my my [ __ ] >> Why dude? I understand you [ __ ] all day. I didn't drink. >> Turn around. You're under arrest. >> I didn't steal anything. >> Turn around. Turn around. >> For what? >> Turn around. What's wrong with you? Turn around. >> I understand you had a bad day, but for what? >> Turn around. >> My stomach's just in an accident. Of course, I'm having a bad day. >> I'm not trying to resist you, but you can't. What are you? Is this what you wanted >> over a a m >> Turn around? >> Stop being so rough. I didn'ting do anything cuz I showed you. I asked for an apology. >> This is what you wanted because I asked FOR A YOU'RE HURTING ME. >> Get my stuff right there. This is my stuff. Get my stuff. >> I want you to grab it. Because I asked you to apologize because again like this rape you can't steal if you're DOING THIS. >> WHERE'S MY apple >> in my hand? >> At the same time, loss prevention told officers about her earlier theft that day. earlier with another gentleman that was under the influence of drugs. I've been watching her since she walked in with the other gentleman electronics. She selected electronics. Yeah. Um and other items and attempted to walk out without paying for the merchandise. Um not only that, before that I presented myself to let her know like, hey, I've been watching you for a while. Um you um you escalated situation. She was in the back room where Tim was only shooting um and she was back there um saying she was looking for milk or something. Anyways, um when she went to go walk out, I went to stop her. Um she didn't comply and she went back to subcheck out and started creating an entire scene saying she didn't mean to walk out with the merchandise. Um and then that's when I reached out to you guys cuz it was obviously starting to escalate and she started getting very very >> back with the woman. She escalated her victim act even further by suddenly crying to gain sympathy. >> So you want like the long story or short story? I have your own video. >> Don't matter to me. >> Okay. tonight with the Google. Um, I can't roll my mouth. >> Cool. Let's go. >> Apple Watch. Are you ready? >> Huh? >> What? >> You hear my wife? >> Please don't give me a chance to pause before me. >> I just got accepted into this hand. I'm waiting four months for it. Please don't feel like for me. It was a minute, you know. I'm sorry. Yep. You're right in public. You know that makes the people think they can like, >> you know, sir, please talk to me. >> I am. Sit down. >> You're not talking. >> Sit down real quick. >> Hey. Uh, Fender. Fender. >> You don't want to lift. >> Can you stand by with her? >> I lift you up. >> [laughter] >> In reality, not a single tear ever came out. She even continued begging anyone who showed up around her. >> Um, bring her >> disorderly. Listen, this is Stop talking for a second. Just stop. >> Just stop. >> Okay. Just Just let us talk. >> I haven't even asked you any questions. >> I haven't asked you any questions. >> Just stop. Stop. Um, do you want to bring her into LP office and we can just >> No, she's she's being belligerent >> and pulling and and running and all that. So, >> I'm afraid Are you a parent? >> Are you a parent? >> This is your watch, correct? >> Cuz my son I just watch my son was in an accident. >> Is this your watch? >> Yes. >> I'm going to put it in your purse. Okay. >> You hear me? >> Your son was in an accident? >> Yeah. >> I'm sorry to hear that. >> No. And so then >> I'm going to go confirm what we got. Look, I >> Yeah, he said he >> I haven't asked her anything. >> Please get my little bags, please. Miranda. >> All right, if you want to do that, then >> how do you open this thing? >> I know it's hard. >> Where's my Are you getting the rest of my stuff in the army bag? >> Just open the purse, please. So, I can put >> I remained clean for 4 months, but that's just with the hope that I finally got into the god-based one. >> You able to open the purse? >> I go this way. Not like this. You got to squeeze these two. >> After finishing all the procedures, officers and store employees announced their decision regarding her actions. >> So today is March 24th, 2026. You are officially trespassed from Target. You cannot come back to the Target, which includes all the parking lot until March 24th. If you do come back and you were physical and put your hands on me and put your hands on me, you put your hands on me. Listen, >> do you understand what he just said to you? >> What? I don't care. I'm trust I'm suing him. >> That's fine. >> He groped me. >> You're trespassed. You can't come back. >> Just like your partner, Ry is. >> If you come back within a year, you go to jail. Does that make sense? Okay. >> It's okay. I'm a little white girl, so you guys don't care that you're ruining my kid. My kid now is in the >> Anything else I can help you with? >> I mean, she was she was fighting me, so she's probably going to do it up again over there. She doesn't like me very much. >> Yeah, >> I'll do it. >> Yeah, >> just show us both. >> I told uh Bergman to go, too, since she's a female. And >> okay, >> whatever. >> Just show us both. >> All right. >> She was charged with petty theft, disorderly conduct, and resisting an officer. Lesson: Constant lies and victim playing only made the situation worse instead of helping her avoid the consequences. Next, this mother dragged her own family into the consequences of her criminal actions. >> Lie after lie after lie. >> I'm not lying to you. >> You said that last time, but bad decisions comes into play. Okay, you're not going to jail, but understand that you're going to have to deal with this, too. On the 16th of January 2026, police officers and Target loss prevention staff stopped a woman suspected of shoplifting from the store. But what they uncovered turned out to be far more serious than anyone [music] had imagined. This was what happened. >> I do. Yes. Yum. Okay. Um, and I want you to know that >> Where's your son? >> Can I show you? >> How old is he? >> 15. >> Okay. Where? >> He's not with you. >> No, they're outside. >> Okay. >> I have twins and my 15-year-old. >> Well, let's just go this way. You said they're out there. >> Mhm. >> Where at? >> In the car. >> Okay. Yeah. We'll find out where the car is and I'll go make contact with them. >> So, it turned out that the woman had left her family members waiting in the car while she carried out the theft. Yet, even after being taken to the loss prevention office, she showed no sign of concern whatsoever. My twins are nine. >> Okay. How about your daughter? >> My twins? They're >> Oh. Oh, so twin daughters. I thought you said twin sons. >> No, I have a 15-year-old son and then the twins are boy girl. >> Romeo. >> So, how old is the oldest one? >> 15. >> 15. >> Um, there's kids in the car, though. So, we're just car. >> Where's the car at? >> I just told him he can move it. >> He's 15. He can't move it. >> Well, to the front. >> He's 15. You still can't move the car. What kind of car is it? >> Is it black suburban? >> What kind of like Okay. >> Where? Where are we on? This side or that side? >> I don't. >> We're going to go find your kids no matter what. So, we need to find them now. >> What are you going to tell them? >> We're going to tell the truth. >> I know, but I need to know what's going on though. >> You don't know what's going on. >> Okay. Where's your car at? So, we can find them before you get charged for child. >> Yeah. They just told me your license is suspended indefinitely. >> No, my license is not suspended indeed. I just spoke to them on Tuesday about it. >> So my dispatch just ran your number here and said your license is suspended indefinitely. >> But I just spoke to Semino County on >> that doesn't matter. >> I understand and this is an ID card. >> You can't drive on an identification card. >> As the investigation went deeper, the woman's wrongdoing only became more apparent. The moment the officer began reading her Miranda rights, signs of remorse finally started to appear far too late. >> You mind if I call? >> All right. So here's your rights. You have the right to remain silent and anything you say may be used as evidence against you. You have the right to talk to an attorney and have him or her with you now or at any time during questioning. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to represent you. Obviously, we were here because lost correction saw something happening on the camera. >> Do you know what was happening on the camera? >> I don't know. My son, my kids kept calling me. I kept getting phone calls. >> Okay. So, >> it is possible I may have missed the I don't know. >> So, I'll tell you this stuff on the bottom was on the bottom when you went to the register and never came out and then you finished paying for whatever you paid for and you went to walk out the door. So, this stuff here definitely did not come off the bottom of the book and you scan >> and then once you pass the cash registers and go to walk out the store, you're passing all points of sale without paying for items. Clearly, the woman was not surprised when the allegations against her were raised. She had even prepared excuses for the questions that came from the police. >> The reason this stuff didn't come out to get scanned. >> I didn't think my card would go through. >> Okay. So, >> I haven't been grocery shopping. >> So, did you try it at all or attempt to try this stuff? >> Well, no. I got it, but >> Did it work for the other stuff? >> Yeah. But why didn't you put this stuff back if you didn't think it >> I completely forgot it was even at the bottom. I >> you bought this if you knew you didn't have enough money. Why would you buy this instead of buying food that you could have paid for like mayonnaise and whatever these chips are and everything else, but you bought this and not that. >> So when you're sitting here telling me that you didn't have enough money, >> they don't they don't need a glass jar. It's for a project. That's due Tuesday. Well, >> was a project more important or food more important? >> So, Melissa, have you ever been arrested for shoplifting? >> No. >> No. >> Anything like that? >> No. Never. >> Once they come out. >> Clearly, her explanation completely contradicted the unpaid items the police had found. And that wasn't all. Officers quickly discovered that this was not the woman's first time committing such an offense. You guys were here last week. Did the same thing. You're wearing what? A red jacket. You're wearing similar clothing. Same purse. Same everything. So >> last week. >> Yeah. Last week. The same car. >> Same car. Same everything. >> My son did something. >> Yeah. With you. >> No. >> What did I do? >> You pushed a shopping cart out and didn't pay for it. >> He's never done that. You did the same thing. >> Yeah, it's on video. >> $330 worth of >> My son has never taken anything. >> My son has never taken anything. >> Well, he did. It's on [music] video. >> What did I take? >> A whole shopping cart full of stuff. >> What? >> So, you sit here and act surprised, but yet it's lie after lie after lie. >> I'm not lying to you. >> You said that last time. No, he's never taken anything. >> I think he's talking about the cart with all the stuff that you got, but I pushed it. I'm pretty sure. >> Yeah, >> that's what you mean? >> I mean, yeah, he pushed it past all points of sale out of the store. So, he is assisting you in shoplifting. >> I didn't know you would pay for that. >> So, this mother had dragged her own family into her wrongdoing. By the time she heard what she was about to face, any remorse she felt had already come far too late. >> That was stolen is over $330. But understand that you are now going to have charges for it against you for the same thing. >> Yes. Yes. This is where bad decisions comes into play. Okay. You're not [snorts] going to jail, but understand that you're going to have to deal with this, too. Okay. This is not a slap on the wrist. You know, you get to walk away stop free. You guys know what you're doing when you come here. >> I I had no idea he would pay me for that. >> I I promise you. >> He plays football. He would never I >> Just like he told me he didn't drive. Just like he told me a bunch of other things that aren't true. So listen, just stop. You push a shopping cart out with stuff that's not bad. You're telling me you >> He did not. He didn't know that, >> right? But he's with you. Did he see you pay for it? I really I rarely pay attention when she's at the shopping stores. >> Well, maybe she should pay these when she's checking out stuff. >> He's only 15. He's >> right. He's 15. He's a young adult. It's less than a year. When's your birthday? >> November 12th, >> right? So, in November, he'll be old enough to drive a vehicle, right? Not that he is going to drive a vehicle, but he'll drive a vehicle. So, that comes great responsibility. >> He doesn't know that I only started having financial trouble. the last three months. That's he doesn't know about any of this, >> right? But there's other ways around things and this is not the way to to fix that. >> And again, you're I mean, some of the stuff you're taking, you try to do a fraudulent return, like this is this is not the way to handle it. >> I trust me, I know that >> the woman was arrested and charged with retail theft. Dragging family members into criminal behavior only makes the consequences worse. One bad decision can affect not just the offender, but everyone around them. Up next, a check fraud case takes an unexpected turn, exploding into a violent confrontation. >> I'm not signing nothing until I see everything THAT YOU HAVE. 426. STOP TOUCHING ME. UNDER ME. >> In January 2024, a woman was arrested in Lake Charles, Louisiana after allegedly trying to deposit a $50,000 counterfeit check. But chaos erupted when her mother intervened. Here's the full story. Can you come talk to me, please? >> Yeah. Okay, hold on. >> We'll step right in there if you don't mind. >> It's a bank fraud case. >> Yeah, that's what I'm coming up here for. >> You're coming up here for some bank fraud stuff? >> Yeah. Oh, yeah. That's my mother. Oh, okay. >> Yeah, that's my mother. She had brought me here cuz I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my account as well. But yeah, that I just left the the one >> you went to get a debit card. That's what >> I went to go get my debit card. But yeah, I had just I was in my account and I'm looking or whatever. And >> ma'am, you can step outside. >> Please step outside. >> Yes, mama. Just step out. I don't I'm trying to figure out the same thing. >> If you interfere in my investigation, I will place you under arrest. Please step outside. She's She's an adult. She's an adult. Okay. But you don't have to disrespect my mom. >> Step outside. Ma'am, >> and you don't have to. And I'm going to tell you, you don't have to disrespect my mom neither. >> I'm not going to ask you. >> A financial [snorts] crimes detective informed the suspect she was tied to a bank fraud case. At first, she seemed cooperative, but quickly grew angry when officers told her mother not to interfere, escalating the tension. >> But that's what I was here to clear up. I'm trying to figure out what risk or whatever is going on in what happened. something about a a $50,000 check was deposited into my account that I did not deposit. I didn't sign off on anything. She appeared completely unaware of what was happening and even seemed surprisingly cheerful as she faced the situation. >> Who said 66? >> That's for today. He's up there. And >> what's your name? >> Okay. You happen to have ID on you? >> I don't have it. He has my father. I'm supposed to meet him later today. My father's giving it to me. >> So, even more reason to come upstairs. >> For what reason? >> To get your boarding pass. from your father's upstairs. Remember >> my father will come downstairs and get me. I don't need you to bring me to my father. >> Okay, ma'am. >> The woman refused to go up to the room she claimed to have, which only made it seem more likely that no such room existed. She even tried to leave to avoid further questioning. >> Folks upstairs. >> There were plenty of folks upstairs. >> I'm not doing this. >> Yes, ma'am. Stay here. Stay here. >> You will not touch me. I'm telling you, I will touch you. We're going to go upstairs and pay the bill or you're going to the office. >> I don't have cash on me. That's right. My mother is paying the bill. >> Okay. Uh, no. >> Okay. >> Thank you so much, David. I'm going to leave. No, we're not going to leave. Either we're going to pay the bill or you're going to be arrested. I'm telling you that. >> What? >> It was clear that she had not paid for the bar service through any method. The situation grew increasingly tense as she repeatedly insisted on leaving, forcing officers to warn her. >> The airport. >> Ma'am, you're not leaving. >> Yes, I am. No, you're not. You do not arrest someone for a hamburger. >> Ma'am, you will be arrested for that hamburger. >> For what? for not paying. >> And what is the charge? >> Depth of service. >> And how long is the charge? >> How can you How long to arrest someone for a hamburger? >> Ma'am, are you going to pay for it tonight? >> I said I want a bill for it. >> Do we have anything? There's no one there. >> All right. Cool. >> Okay. Actually, >> can I have the receipt? I want to take >> No, I want the bill for it. You you you purchased something here, right? >> I >> agreed to pay for you agreed to pay for it. >> Father's money. >> Okay. Well, there's no one registered on my right hand. >> It certainly did not seem like the first time the woman had engaged in this kind of behavior. Even after being arrested, she showed no sign of concern and instead continued to display an air of arrogance. >> I want to be kept somewhere safer than this. >> What's that mean? >> I am a god. You hurt me with my arm and you're going to be punished. >> I'm going to hold on to your arm because you're acting erratic and I want you to calm down >> and walk with us. Okay? >> I'm a woman. >> We've explained everything that's happening so far, but >> I'm not erratic. >> You're abusive. How are you? >> Uh T. >> Yep. T. I'm a lady. >> Have a seat. >> I'm a lady. >> Even more reason to sit. >> Have a seat. Thank you. >> A lady sits when she wants to sit, >> not when she's told to sit for a 34 64 hamburger that was paid off. >> The woman was charged with theft of service. Repeated dishonesty and arrogance may delay accountability, but they cannot erase the consequences OF FRAUDULENT ACTIONS. >> WOW. ARE YOU kidding me? Stop. Look at that one again. >> And what's your grandson's name? >> I don't know if you should say that. I don't know. >> On January 1st at Walmart, deputies approached a woman suspected of being involved in a fraud scheme after she allegedly attempted to purchase items with counterfeit bills. Look at that one again. >> Pull it out and see if the line's in it. Please. >> It's not. >> Wow. >> This one's yellow. >> I'm about to freak out, man. The woman appeared shocked by the unusual discoloration on the bills, but the deception behind her mask was hard to hide. Even her apparent confusion at that moment seemed anything but genuine. >> I didn't know this would mean >> if they got six bills from you that were all counterfeit, they're not going to take any other, >> right? >> You might not want to let the money blow away. >> Oh my gosh. >> What now? What now? So, there's eight bills. Two that you had with you and six that came from the store. >> Yeah. >> So, I'm going to need your identification. >> It's over in the truck. >> Okay. Which vehicle? >> Um, it's a Dodge truck. >> So, you said you got how many bill? Where did these come from? >> 200 from my grandson. >> Okay. So, how do you know whether it was this 200? >> It was right on top cuz he just get it was right on top of my money. >> Okay. >> So, how much is there? Oh, I spent $20. >> You have eight bills here, so you're missing $40. If he gave you 200 and and if you believe that all of them are counterfeit, >> well, obviously they are. >> I don't make assumptions on people. If he gave you 200 and you feel like they were all counterfeit, there's $160 worth here. >> She had clearly lied about how much money she had spent to reduce the loss amount. But if you thought she was merely confused, this was far from her first time. Before long, she began giving deputies false personal information. What's >> your first name? >> Whitley. >> Date of birth? >> 87. >> 87. >> Yes. >> You'll take your mask off for me? >> Yes. >> Okay. Where's the other female that you were with the polkadotted pants? >> You probably seeing me where the cops are freaking out. >> And what's your friend's name? >> The big black dies. Susan. She live in Ocala as well. >> Call her. >> Good idea. Does she live in Ocala as well? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Okay. And your grandson? What's his name? >> Oh my god. >> Really? >> Really? >> Yes. If that's who you're saying you got them from. I'm going to document that. That's what you're the information that you're telling me. Otherwise, falsifying information. So, >> and then you're in possession account for building you're telling me, right? >> Oh my god. >> So, what am I supposed to do here? You're going to call your friend. Have her bring your ID over here. First of all, >> she couldn't even provide her grandson's name and repeatedly tried to dodge the question. The same went for her ID card despite calling her friend to bring it over. The situation only became more disappointing. >> That little that little box, remember those little boxes? Like, >> what the is going on? Listen, people just can't touch it. >> It's in a little container that's waterproof, >> but it's not it's not hard. It's like a soft one. It's like almost like a pencil case, but it's >> like a pencil case. All right. I'm going to read you something. >> Oh, no. No. >> You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can will be used against you in a court of law. Do you understand what those mean? >> Okay. With that being said, are you willing to speak with me about this? Okay. So, you're saying that the bills came from somewhere else. So, where else did they come from? >> My grandson. >> Okay. And what's your grandson's name? >> I don't know if I should say that. I don't know what to do. >> Two options. >> Tell me. >> We already told you what they were before, correct? >> Option A, tell me your grand. Option B, you're in possession of counterfeit bills. Okay. >> So, what does that mean? >> They're felonies. >> Felony. >> What exactly is that? >> That means going to jail. >> Oh, >> yeah. >> Shortly afterward, deputies placed the woman in handcuffs and conducted a search. What they found only further reinforced the web of lies she had been telling. And I don't have a >> Okay. >> That's the rest of my money. I want to give that to Susan, please. >> Money that came from your side. >> Okay. So, these were all the bills that were just marked. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Okay. So, we're going to look back through them cuz we're all standing right here. >> Okay. >> The marks that were on them earlier. >> See them? >> I thought they disappear. No. >> Oh, >> they will over time eventually. All right. Miniature money. I'm just trying to make sure that you're aware of it. >> Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Where's that one? >> I don't see a mark. Okay. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. And I don't see one. Okay. >> Correct. All right, >> Susan, >> stop yelling. You're in front of a business. We're not doing that. >> Okay, hold on. >> So, where is this from? >> Don't That's my money, too. >> Don't What? >> You're in custody. >> Please don't go through my purse. >> Okay, you're in custody. That it's absolutely everything that can be your personal property that goes to jail with you. >> From the start, she had been carrying over $200 in counterfeit bills, but tried to hide it. She also became tense when deputies searched her purse, which contained an ID with her real name and pills believed to be narcotics. At that point, deputies questioned her about it. >> What's a large rock? >> Crystal. >> Crystal meth. >> No. No. I >> What's in the foil? >> Feeling I build >> What's in the foil? >> I have no idea. >> Okay. In the end, 52-year-old Angela Baker was convicted of felony uttering forged bills, felony possessing forged notes, misdemeanor, giving a false name to law enforcement, and felony possession of a controlled substance. A long history of dishonesty never made deception easier. It only gave her more chances to make the same mistakes. In the end, every lie, false identity, and hidden piece of evidence only strengthen the case against her. willing to give me a chance to not be actually arrested and go to court. They think that I'm, you know, a pro at doing this because he says I wasn't nervous at all. >> On the 28th of July 2025, police were dispatched to Walmart after receiving a report of a woman suspected of shoplifting. The suspect allegedly attempted to leave the store with multiple unpaid items. This was what happened when officers stopped her. >> Just leave the car right here and then walk with me cuz we got you on camera right now. Skip things. So let's go ahead and walk over here right now. I'm telling you right now, unless you I want you to listen right now. I'm escorting you over here. You can talk to them in there. I got you. That's a warning. >> Yeah. >> So, right now, like I said, we got you on camera uh folding clothes with not and not scanning all items. Also the sunglasses that are in your purse. >> Okay. >> All right. Is there any other items that you have on you that you attempted to take from the store? >> No, sir. >> It's just what we saw. >> The woman appeared to believe her actions were not a big deal, showing little to no remorse. Even when asked for her reason, it hardly seemed justifiable. >> So, what's your reason for you trying to take the items? Do you have money to purchase it? >> I just I'm very low income. I'm a single mom raising. I have my my two daughters. one is special needs and and very sick right now. I just >> never done it before or you never got caught before? >> No, I haven't. I haven't. I haven't done it. >> Cuz the way you strolled around the way we watched you, it looks like you've done this before. You know what I'm saying? >> So, >> Also, Walmart would like you to be trespassed from all of them. >> So, you are never welcomed at any Walmart in the city of Los Cusius. >> Do you understand? >> Yes. If you do come back to any Walmart, you will be arrested for trespassing. >> Why? >> Like, can I tell my son, please? >> Uh, right now, no, ma'am. >> Okay. I'm supposed to go take my daughter's lunch to school, too. Today's her first day, and she's very wondering what happened. >> She repeatedly brought up her family as if trying to portray herself as a family oriented woman and begged the officers for sympathy. Shortly after, she bluntly gave a rather shameful excuse. way at all that anybody would be willing to give me a chance to not be actually arrested and go to court and deal with all of this. Well, like I said, I've been I've been observing people for the last 15 years, and when they're about to commit a crime or committing a crime, usually there's signs that they're showing that they're nervous or they're just different than everybody else. You show signs of no nervousness, no anything, no care at all while you're walking around. So, like you saying that this is the first time, I don't believe you. And I'm I'm straight up with people. >> I'm sorry. Um, I'm going to tell you right now >> to lie. >> I'm you have a lot right now cuz you're going to jail. >> I'm I'm being totally cooperative, totally honest about everything. >> Well, I'm just letting you know. >> Yeah. No. No. No. >> It was clear that the woman's attempt to gain sympathy had completely failed. At that point, the officers gave her a chance to call her family and explain what had happened. >> Um, something really bad. Um, I got caught stealing stuff at Walmart on Valley. And so they are arresting me and I'm probably going to get out tomorrow. And I I don't know why I do the DJ. You know why I don't do this stuff. I just, you know, things have been really tight right now. And I just >> I don't know yet. But he says that it's a zero tolerance. The face wip the face wipes. We don't need to clean our face. Yeah. She's expecting me to bring her lunch at 12:00. I'm worried about Britney. I know she's with her, but I'm worried about Britney because, you know, [laughter] get her in sooner to the doctor, but I don't know what to do. He said probably till tomorrow because I see a judge and I, you know, I tried talking to them to see if they, you know, just I don't know how it works. thing that many >> I just made a little bit >> and I mean they think that I, you know, a pro at doing this because he says I wasn't nervous at all. Of course I was nervous. How do you tell? I mean, different people show how they're nervous. Different people have never done this before. Otherwise, if I was a pro, I wouldn't have got caught. Am I right? Like, you know, I'm in the office with them. Um, >> if you paid attention, she kept acting pitiful to her family while looking at the officers as if trying to play on their emotions. She even took the conversation with her family further to do just that. >> Well, she's trying to do a go to school right now. And yeah, a lot of people do way worse. And I've been totally cooperative. I haven't argued with anybody or done anything. I, you know, I mean, yeah. Yeah. I know they let the crackhead kids loose all the time. I know. I know cuz my nephew's one of them, but I don't know. I just need to let you know. >> You're going to keep throwing shots at me. Get off the phone now cuz I'm giving you a courtesy. Yeah, you are. >> Sir, I'm just saying I'm not going to play your game. I'm not going to play your game. So, either you talk to him and let them know what you're going to do and get off the phone or I'm going to just make you cut it now. >> Do you see how rude he's being with you? >> I'm not rude. I'm not being disrespectful towards him. Have I said you done anything bad towards him? >> Ma'am, you're trying to play the victim card here and it's not going to work cuz you're not the victim right now. >> I admit to what I did was wrong. I'm not playing no victim. >> All right. So, let them know what you need to do with your children and then we'll go from there. All right. >> And even my son know >> Okay. Well, let your son know what to do with your other children and then get off the phone. >> Okay. I don't know like um I would cuz I would rather not leave the truck here. Okay. Thank you. Bye-bye. My son's going to come get my keys so he can take the truck home. >> Okay. We'll we'll we'll go ahead and do that with all the other property you have here. I mean, your wallet there. You wanted to go with your son as well. >> Yep. In the end, Kimberly Jackson was charged with shoplifting and switching price tags to pay less for merchandise. Making excuses and seeking sympathy cannot undo a bad decision. Accepting responsibility is the first step toward making things right. Worse, this woman even dragged her entire family into the chaos she had created. >> And I'm going to let them let go of the person. >> Correct. Tell them to let go of the person. >> Thank you. >> Please tell the child to let go. >> Excuse me. On the 15th of September 2023, police were dispatched to a bank after receiving reports of a fraud attempt. The suspect was believed to be a woman who had tried to open an account using suspicious identification documents. When officers approached her, she appeared visibly nervous, as if she feared something was about to be discovered. >> Can I say that again? >> No. Stop. No, I I was just saying you can't um >> No, give me the give me the fake ID. >> How is it a fake ID? >> Because that's not you. >> Couple weeks. I don't have an ID. >> How is that not me? >> Let me see. >> That's me. >> Okay, let me see. >> No, I'm okay. >> Thank you. >> No, you're not leaving. >> 1768 Jack. Can you start in the second one, please? [cough] >> Yeah. >> What's your real name? my name. >> Yeah. >> Okay, let me see it. >> Here you go. >> Okay, let me see it. >> You just clearly said it wasn't a problem up there. >> I never said it wasn't a problem. >> I have children waiting on me. >> They can wait. >> No, my kids can't wait. >> Okay. Well, you're going to stay right here with me until another unit gets here. >> Okay. >> All right. Now, where's your What's your real ID? >> I don't have one. What's your last name? >> I'll I'll stay and wait. >> That's fine. What's your last name? >> I'll stay and wait. >> You're not going to tell me. >> I'll stay on. >> Okay. Let me have the fake ID. >> No. I'm >> This is my property. >> It's not your property cuz it's somebody else's identity. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. Step to the side. >> Let me tell my sister she can go. You can go outside. >> You can wait. >> You can go outside telling her she want. >> She repeatedly tried to distract the officers, seemingly looking for a chance to escape. She even ignored the detention order and continued walking away, forcing officers to stop her immediately. I >> feel like I'm just >> You are not going anywhere. I'm not going nowhere. But I want you NOT TOUCH ME. >> DON'T TOUCH ME. >> STOP. >> Don't touch no woman. >> You stop. >> Don't touch no woman. >> Stop. You stop. CHILL. >> PUT YOUR ARMS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> PUT YOUR ARMS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> STEP BACK. >> Step back. >> Step back. >> I mean, just I'll be with you in a second, man. Give me one second. Okay. CAN YOU LET >> I AM [ __ ] TRANSOPHOBIC. [screaming] LOOSENING THEM UP. >> ARMS TOGETHER. >> LOOSEN THEM UP. >> I CAN'T IF YOU DON'T PUT YOUR ARMS TOGETHER. >> BE ALL RIGHT. >> Calm down. >> Calm down and put your arms together. >> Loosen them up. >> Calm down and put your arms together and I will loosen it up. >> Loosen it up. >> I can't unless you put your arms together. >> Can you deal with that? Can I talk? Can you deal with it? >> I I have to assist. >> Do you got another set of cuffs? >> She caused the scene right in front of her family. Even her husband tried to calm her down, but the situation remained far from easy to control. >> Can you ask your children to stop? >> I as you can >> we can actually talk about it. >> You ain't working with me. >> Can we talk about it and ask them to stop? >> I as we talk >> this person's evidence right now. >> Evidence. My >> your lawyer has nothing to do with this. >> Shutler, whatever you're pulling and you'reing up my wrist. >> Okay. >> IF YOU COME BACK AROUND ME, I WILL TELL THEM LET GO. >> Can we please just let go of the purse? >> Calm down and talk about what's going on. >> That's my mommy. >> All right. All about this law. >> Can we please just let go of the purse? God escalate. Listen, it's just part of the procedure. That's it. >> What you want me to do? I don't give a [ __ ] What you want me to do? >> It's an active investigation. >> Active investigation. >> I need you and your children to step back. >> That's what needs to happen. >> All right. I got you. What you want me to do? >> What you want me to do? >> They're going to have to I'm What you want? What do you want me to do? >> I want him to make me feel comfortable. If he You want You want something, but you're not giving me something. I can address the matter once they let go of the purse. >> Once they let go of the purse. >> You come behind me >> and I'm going to let them let go of the purse. >> Correct. Tell them to let go of the purse. >> Thank you. >> But tell them let go of me. You >> are not. >> You're detained. >> I'm not letting go of you. >> I'm I didn't say let go of me, but make me feel comfortable. YOU'RE STRETCHING MY WRIST OUT. >> ANYTHING ABOUT it until they let go of the purse. >> You're stretching my wrist out. >> I'm going to have to let go of the purse. >> OKAY. WELL, Y'ALL COME THIS WAY. EVERYBODY COME THIS WAY. >> You're all going to go to jail. You're getting your kids involved. Thank you. >> She dragged her entire family into interfering with her arrest, forcing officers to call for additional units to help control the situation. >> Hey, what's his name right here? >> What's his name? This a type of I'm an animal I got to lap up twice. >> No, I'm taking these other ones off. >> Thank you. >> All right. >> I Hold on. >> Investigation. >> What's the [ __ ] investigation? >> She used a fake ID. Okay, >> I'm going to I'm turning around. >> I'm just trying to fix the L communicate to you. Okay, >> what's up? >> I I'm trying to get the second set off. He said, "Let you address something." He said, "Stop talking." >> She's trying to get that one cough. >> Thank you. >> Officers had to work hard to bring the situation under control. She was then placed in a patrol car and eventually revealed her real name without any sign of embarrassment. >> I can tell you who I am. >> Okay. So, who are you? >> Bakes. >> Huh? >> Bakes. >> Ketta Bakes. >> B A Henry. 630 210 >> first name >> C. >> Yeah, I will get you a bottle. C. >> So I >> this is just you out here. >> Not saying that that would have been right. >> Right. But when you got one, two, three in the car and two dogs. >> Right. Cuz technically right now you should be going to jail. >> So what do you think is going to happen to the five of them and the two dogs and his car? car is going to record, they're going to defects and your dog's going to pound. >> See what I'm saying? If it's just you and your girl out here, >> that's a choice. >> And that's that's the only reason you're not going to jail right now. >> It's because of these kids and these dogs. >> All right. >> We got a saying. You got to use some sense. >> Who car is this right here? We got We got >> So, we got everything already. >> Yeah. >> All right. All right. So, we've got you >> in the judicial system. >> All right. Well, she's she's going to go to jail. She's going to dab county. All right. >> By this point, everyone was finally cooperating. Had they done so from the beginning, things could have gone very differently. Nothing she tried to do now was going to change the outcome. >> But it's going up front with the officer. Okay. >> Okay. What? What ID he got? >> What? >> What ID he got? My ID and his ID. >> You who? I seen the um man where he right there in the green had an ID. >> Um the the only ID I've got is um >> North Carolina. >> Okay. >> The North Carolina ID. >> The fake one. >> All right. All right. >> I'm going to pull off now. >> Yes. >> Yep. We got to put your seat belt back on though, right? Or we're not. >> Do you know um I'm in here. Do you know um any information? Not >> put that one back in since she named the exact name. >> Sure. The woman was charged with fraud, presenting a fake identification document, forgery, and obstruction of an investigation. Dragging others into a crime and resisting accountability only makes the consequences worse. Cooperation and honesty from the start can prevent a bad situation from escalating. In the next case, the girlfriend shoplifted, but the boyfriend escalated the situation. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me, bro. What will happen? >> Not before I bleed you, please. >> On the 16th of January, 2023, officers responded to a Walmart after reports of a woman shoplifting inside the store, but they had no idea the situation would escalate far beyond a simple theft case. Here's what unfolded. >> How you doing? Better come back inside the store. >> For what? >> Suck at me. It hurts. What you mean? >> I just paid for every thing. What you mean? What? I paid for I came back. >> Unless you unless unless part of part of it. >> Give me the purse, bro. Don't start. You don't got to grip. Go. >> Back up, man. Okay. Stay right there. Unless you Unless you want to be a part of the cop, bro. Back up. That's fine. Go down this way. Walmart right there. The suspect and her boyfriend became angry after being stopped. Since the woman was the primary suspect, she was separated for questioning, but that did little to calm the situation. >> You shut that door, Lacy. >> My paper socks. >> I I'll have a seat. >> Okay. So, have a seat. >> I'll have a seat. You want to pay for some socks? You want to pay for some socks? Go ahead. Go ahead. Ain't nothing else in there for you. >> Okay. >> Ain't nothing else in there for you, baby. and nothing else. >> Do you have a Addie? >> No, I don't. >> You don't have Addi? >> Okay. >> Oh, my shoes come [ __ ] My receipt. >> Okay. >> Did you steal the socks? >> I took the socks up. The socks was already open. I said, "Okay, it's free socks. No tag on it." I'm scanning at the reg. The lady came back and she say, "Go get another one." So I did. I put in my bag. My shirt. You scanned. You scanned. >> I was right there. I scanned. Baby, I paid for it. [ __ ] >> So, these this is going to be on your receipt that you just had. >> It's going to be on my receipt. I pay for it, too. You want me to pay for it? >> No. If you already pay for it, I'm going to get the receipt. >> Okay. So, who get if I pay for Okay, cool. Pay for it. >> No, no, no. There's only It's either on the receipt or it's not on the receipt. Is it on the receipt? >> It's not on my receipt. Because I watched you put it in your purse. >> Okay. So, you want me to pay for it? >> I know. >> Things only grew worse when her boyfriend, who was initially believed to be uninvolved, made decisions that ultimately earned him a harsh lesson of his own. >> Hey, man. Back up off the door. Back up off the door, dude. Back up. Like I said, back up, bro. You're going to end up going to jail, man. I'm trying to tell. >> Okay. I'm trying to tell you, man. Back up. >> Okay. Yeah. Bro, I'm trying to tell you. >> I'm trying to give you the opportunity not to go to jail. >> Okay. >> Again, back away from the door, bro. Yo, we'll go ahead detain him. >> Don't touch me. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me. [screaming] >> Get back. Get back. Get back. Careful. I swear to God, don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me, bro. Don't touch me, bro. Shut the [ __ ] up, bro. Don't touch me, bro. Bro, I'm not I'm not resisting, bro. >> I'm not resisting. It's okay. Stop. >> I got weed in my pocket. >> With everything unfolding, the man only made the situation more chaotic, forcing officers to step in once again to calm the woman down and regain control of the scene. >> Just take a seat. Take a seat over here. >> Okay. >> Oh my god. >> I just I just got here, so take a seat for me. >> All right. Just take a seat for me. >> All right. Breathe. Breathe. He don't deserve that. >> Okay. >> Please don't take him to jail. [laughter] >> I try my best. You know me. We don't have nowhere to go. >> Do you have ID? >> I don't have it with me. >> Okay. >> I don't have any. >> I don't do nothing. >> That was your friend. >> Was that his friend? >> Yeah. Yeah, >> this is crazy. You got here, bro. >> You know, we don't have nowhere to go. >> All right. What's your first name? [laughter] >> Britney. He just gave >> two T's or one T. >> He just >> Britney, what's your middle initial? Please help my mom, please. >> Clearly, all of their actions stemmed from their own anger. Yet, they seemed unaware of their wrongdoing, even making please without any sense of shame. >> Please, please, that's all I got. That's all I got. Please, please, that's all I got. Never took nothing from me. I never took nothing. That's all I took was some clothes. Please, right, please. >> No, >> please please please go to my please. [laughter] Please go. Please. >> What's your middle name? We don't got nowhere to go. We don't got nowhere to go. I understand. We done it. It's cold outside. We don't got nowhere to go. Please. I never mean I pay for everything else. I pay for everything else. No, please. I pay for my I for those real easys. >> No, I have nowhere to go. Are those real easy? >> No, we don't have nothing. That's the only person that's been here for me. >> That's the only person that's been there for me. Please. >> He does. >> Ultimately, the woman was charged with shoplifting, theft of merchandise, and was also taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant. The boyfriend was charged with resisting arrest after physically interfering with officers during the detention process and escalating the confrontation. This case shows how refusing to comply with officers and allowing emotions to take control quickly turn a minor theft allegation into additional criminal charges and arrest warrants being enforced. >> Right now, we're already listen. On May 5th, 2024, police quickly responded to a report from a Walmart store about a group attempting to conceal merchandise and leave without paying. Here's the full story. >> The blue and the stop. Stop. Stop. >> We're going to the LP office right now. >> Go with them. I was trying to pay for MY STUFF, BUT NO, I WAS JUST BOTHERING HER CUZ she sitting up here with the thing over here. >> You get what I'm saying? You heard me? >> Wait, no, I was going to pay for my stuff, but she bothering me. >> Her I just did my the lady, so that's why I just said, "Let me go." >> This Yeah, she bothering me. >> Let's go. >> I got >> Let's go. >> You heard me. Let's go. We're going to the LP office. Come on. We're going to the LP office. The first suspect quickly explained that she had been bothered by someone else and had not had the chance to pay yet. When asked to go to the investigation room, she and her friends began to resist. >> I DIDN'T THE PERSON THAT GOT THE STUFF IS ON YOU TO STOP. >> MA'AM, I'm not ask you to stop, guys. Okay. Okay. >> Okay. I didn't do that. I'm not running from you. The person who got the stuff is going out the door. >> Put your hand out the door. >> We're going to figure it out first. I was paying for myself and then >> not doing this. >> I wasn't under arrest. Okay, sir. >> We're going to figure out what's going on and we're going to go from there cuz they're reporting >> theft. >> We didn't even steal nothing yet. >> No, we didn't steal anything. >> No, she was bothering me. So, actually I was going to go the other way. That's what made me just turn around. I was messing with her to be honest. I was just >> Oh, she only been full of stuff. >> Yeah, this one. This one. That was um that was the other one. That was the lady with the um with the I think that was the daughter or whatever. >> That's the one with the daughter and the other two. >> She claims she returned these bins at customer service is what she's saying. >> Yeah, I know. I see it. >> The suspect kept insisting she hadn't stolen anything. But staff reported the group had stacked bins full of unpaid merchandise. Watch how she kept playing the victim. >> So when they say we stole, that's >> what they're reporting. Hold on. So they say we took something out the store. Won't >> you cross the cell? >> No, I just did that bothering her mother ass cuz she sitting up here bothering me. DAMN. I JUST GOT TO THE REGISTER. LET ME get my together and we >> You can take back. >> But they said we took something. >> Yeah. >> How we took something and we disposed. >> We don't know. Like I said, we just got here. We got to figure it out. If someone reports a crime, that's >> Yeah, but you know what I'm saying? Like how did we take something? You get what I'm saying? She's doing the receipt for the entire bin full of items. >> NO, I JUST GOT to the register. That's what I'm trying to let you know. But I was messing with her cuz she was she going to let me get time to take the rest of my stuff out. You get what I'm saying? I'm doing two separate transactions cuz one was going to be with my Walmart app and one was going to be cash. She seen I said right here that's the only one that was open cuz down there wasn't open. >> Soft check out. >> Huh? >> Self checkout. >> Yeah. >> Did you pay for the items in business? >> HUH? I JUST GOT TO THE SELFCH CHECKOUT. THAT'S WHAT I'M TRYING TO LET YOU KNOW. Before she went to doing all this yelling, that what made me go around. I really was going to go to another register like leave me alone. I just literally walked up here. >> You get what I'm saying? I didn't even get a chance to even finish ranging everything up. >> I don't like all them. >> She thought blaming others could save her, but the employees statement revealed the truth. >> They were all together. They like split up and then they got all together as a selfch checkout and then they all tried to walk out. And the subject reached um went to selfch check up and act like they was going to pay for the items and then reach by the door and see the officer. Then they start going back inside the store. >> Did they coordinate with each other? Like were they in communication? >> Yes. You going to see them in communication right there in the front of the self checker door in communication. >> And that was all five of them. >> All five of them. Then you see them walked out together. Then you see officer and come back. >> Okay. Cool. Appreciate it. >> Which one's the juvenile >> green tank? Why? Okay. Who can I talk to? >> Huh? What do you mean? >> Um, I'm just trying to see who can I talk to. >> You're going to have to talk to the judge about that. Okay. >> I just moved. I was getting me some belongings, some washing stuff cuz I have a whole bunch of clothes I have to wash up. My kids something to wear to school. I just had did a return with my receipts, no store credits, no nothing. I did put everything cuz I don't like bags. I just literally had got to there and she was like, "Oh, let me see." I'm like, "Wait, hold on. Wait a minute. I'm not even finished. You know what? Instead of going through that, I'm go to a register where they can just take out all my stuff and ring it up. She was making it seem like I'm trying to do something when I'm not. I was doing two separate transaction cuz I was going to do one with cash and one with my card. They can see I went and stopped. You get what I'm saying? She went to bother me >> towards the door. >> Yeah. I came towards the door cuz she was doing all this. I didn't even have finished ringing her. I just walked to the thing. You get what I'm saying? until you walk towards the door. >> No, I know. Me and her was arguing, so I was going like this, basically bothering her. But I was paying for my I was paying to pay for my Huh? >> The employee. >> Yeah, the employee. >> Okay. The employee. >> The staff confirmed all five worked closely together, quickly leaving with loads of merchandise and only returning when they saw security. After that, the main suspect still tried to argue she only meant to pay using two different methods, but it was already too late. Go. >> So, I'm done. So, you three got to go to county with me. Okay. I take you in. Okay. $929. You got to listen. >> I was stop. Take off the your items cuz he's going to have to go with her. They don't take property over at that. You can ask the door. I'm just talking. >> They want to press charges. I can't do anything about that. Okay. >> So, you didn't see me ringing my stuff. >> You got to talk to the judge about that. Okay. >> So, she didn't see me turn around. Turn around. Okay. Can I get some my Yeah, you're good. Can I just um tell >> No, not right now. You can't call anybody, okay? Cuz you guys are under arrest. So, >> so y'all didn't see me ranking up. >> Okay, listen up. Stop. Stop. Stop. We're done arguing. Listen, I'm not trying to argue because the thing about it is if you guys don't start cooperating, I'm going to throw charges for resisting. Okay? Take this stuff out. Put this stuff cuz she's going to Her mom's going to have to take that stuff. know my cousin can visit my cousin and give my stuff to my cousin. >> That's perfectly fine. >> Before I go, I'll have numbers. That way you can call somebody. >> For real. I was >> just turn around. >> Bro, I was turn around. >> Take the bracelet off. >> They see me. >> Listen. You're going to get resisting charges if you don't cooperate. Okay. This is the last. Police confirmed the unpaid goods totaled $929. With all evidence stacked against her, officers made their move and the suspect grew increasingly agitated. >> You're going to have to talk to the judge. Okay. >> They want to press charges. I can't do nothing about that. Turn around. >> I didn't even do nothing. >> What are they talking about? They watched everything you guys did in the entire store. >> What? Come back. Come back. Just hang out with me real fast. All right. >> Right here, but right now we're already past. Come on. Listen. You got to relax. Relax. Relax. Can't do that. Come on. Come on. >> Come on. It's not that big of a deal. YOU GOING TO GO TO COURT, YOU TALK to them. It's going to be all right. Come on. >> Come on. No. Ma'am, relax. Relax. Stop. Ma'am, you got to chill out. You're really making this work. >> Ma'am, get up. You can't >> listen. >> Ma'am, get up. >> You're doing this over retail test. Come on. >> It's not making no sense right now. You go to court, you talk to them. It's all right. Talk to them at court. Get released and then that's about it. All right. >> It's okay. You're making it worse right now. >> We're not going to argue. >> No, I'm not. I'm just trying to >> get your stuff. If you don't if you keep on going, I'll add resisting charges. I don't want to do that. I'm trying to be as patient as I can. >> I can't get in trouble. It's not a big deal over this. It's retail theft. >> No, it don't matter. But they see me pay for my convicted. >> It's not saying that you're guilty. You have to be charged with it. >> Charge. Are you serious? >> You're going to be going to court and then you just let them know. Hey, listen. I was a felony car >> and I paid for my item. >> I'm not. >> Get your leg in the car. Get your leg in the car. I sympathize, but unfortunately my hands are tied. Okay. And then the earpiece, too. Okay. >> I'm on probation. I didn't do anything. >> You did. I got your video. >> My god. >> Put my necklace in there. I cannot believe this. Oh my god. >> Hold your hands like you're praying. >> My kids. Lord, no. Please don't do this to me. My baby daddy. My kids. Mom. It's been a month today. >> Let's go. >> Her accompllices also begged for mercy, citing children and family struggles. But officers showed no leniency. At that moment, the woman in blue began showing unusual signs, making the atmosphere tense. >> I need you to step out for me. Okay. Come on. >> Come on. I need you step out. >> Come here. I need you to step out. >> Come on. >> You want the fire department to come check you out? You want the fire department to check you out? >> Hey, >> ma'am. >> Wake up. >> Ma'am, come on. >> Wake up. Come on. You need to step out of the car. You need to step out of the car. You're making yourself. Come on. >> Step out of the vehicle. >> Sit down. Just sit down. Sit down. >> Sit down. >> Put her in the recovery position. Put her in the recovery position. Wake up. Hey, can you sit up for us? I don't want to have to keep sternum rubbing you. I know that don't feel good. Can you talk to me? You having a panic attack? What's going on? Can you talk to me at all? >> Hello. >> Hello. >> How are you? >> Seven crossing circle. You can tell us that. >> Do you have medical history? >> And possible medical history. Can you talk about what's wrong? You want to talk to >> what hospital you're going to tell me what's wrong, right? >> You know what you took? >> No, you don't know what you took. All right, let's get you on the bed. Okay. >> What did you think you were taking? >> The woman suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness, [music] forcing medical staff to intervene. Yet, just minutes later, her condition had changed. >> She dismissed it. It's >> too late. Too late. Too late. Then you're going to county so you can show out and have more charges. You'll get cleared and you go to the county. I don't want to. You're going out. >> 2124. >> Too late. You try. >> I DON'T WANT HER GOING WITH ME. THE NAME SHE SAID SHE SHOULDN'T SAY. >> OKAY. You can keep doing this. It's not going to matter. >> All right. You can go to county as a Baker Act or you can tighten it up, get medical cleared, and then continue your journey. But what you're doing right now is not going to matter. >> I don't want her going with me. >> You don't have a choice. You're not in charge. >> I don't want her going with you. >> Okay. Well, she is going to go. So, you can continue to show out. >> Okay. Well, just make me go. >> We're not letting you go. >> I know. Maybe. Too late. We already got the show. >> You got to get cleared. You got to get form. >> So, what happened earlier? Was that an act or was something medically wrong with me? Cuz I'm here to medically help you if something's medically truly wrong. If that was just an accident, whatever. >> I don't know. I probably got a fake home. I don't know. >> Okay. Either way, she's going to we got a hard tire to the thing. We will. But she's going to get cleared. >> You're screaming that you want to yourself and do all this >> because y'all don't know what she said. Like that's what y'all need to know. That's like she has >> There's a camera on the internet. >> Okay. Well, let them run. You're a racist. I don't want you going with me. >> That didn't happen. So, >> all right. How about the instructor? Let's go. Let's continue the night. >> Sweetie, can you just get up on the show? >> But that's what she keep telling me that I'm crazy. I'm mental. Y'all don't know what she's been saying. >> Like, y'all don't know what she been saying. Like that's what I'm trying to let you know. >> That's what I'm letting you know. You don't know what she's been saying that make me don't even if I'm acting like this. That's cuz she did something to me that I don't like. >> Okay. >> And she saying all type of CUZ SHE GOT A BADGE ON and that's not right. Just cuz YOU GOT A BADGE ON. >> OKAY. >> I just see you showing out right now >> because BECAUSE Y'ALL DON'T KNOW WHAT SHE SAID. Y'ALL DON'T KNOW WHAT SHE SAID ON THE RIDE HERE. NOW she's trying to sit here and ask anything. This isn't changing your night. Police firmly stated she could not change the situation, which made the woman angry, shouting and blaming the officers. >> Camera all type of racist. >> But what? But what did she say? >> SHE SHE MAKING ME WANT TO KILL MYSELF. SHE A NASTY. SHE MAKING ME want to >> Okay, that's not what she said. That's what you're telling me now. What did she say to you? See the reason I want to don't even know >> back here. >> CONTINUE. >> YOU KNOW THIS WAY BACK HERE. >> OKAY. >> YOU KNOW THIS WAY BACK HERE. SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. OBVIOUSLY IN ONE WHALE UP HERE ON THIS BAR, BUT YOU GOT THIS ONE BACK ON THE THIRD ONE. >> OKAY. >> Like you know what you're doing. In the end, the group was officially charged with retail theft, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and resisting arrest. This case reminds us stealing and resisting police never end well. It only leads to harsher charges and lasting consequences. Next, this man's lying were just as terrible. >> You guys, you guys, you guys chill out. Chill out. I know it's a happy day, bro. It's the coolest thing ever. I I just never I I mean I I I've been I I've been arrested. >> On the 26th of January 2025, police responded to a foot locker after reports of a shoplifting incident. The suspect had allegedly fled the scene immediately afterward, forcing officers to piece together his identity through statements provided by store employees. >> He literally just walked out. He went that way. >> What was he wearing? What is he wearing? Um, here you go. I got a picture. >> Slow slow it down. Party's not here. >> Let me see. All black. He went that way. >> Should be across the street. But he was trying to steal this. Maybe he's coming in routing, harassing one of the other employees there. >> Okay. Do you have a front like a face? >> No, he's all literally African-American, all black. Just >> So he has sent to shoplift. >> Yeah. >> And uh Okay. Do you have cameras here? >> Yeah. >> Can I see? >> Yeah. >> Huh? >> So it So he attempted to shop. >> Tell him you saw it, right? >> He just stole from cricket across the street. >> I'm not sure. Does he have a long black trench coat? >> He just stole from cricket. >> Yeah. He's in the front. >> He's in the front. >> All right. Just remember, there's no criminal complaints. >> I'm going to send Ruben to back. >> So, that same coat description had already been connected to multiple theft incidents. However, police quickly apprehended the suspect. He didn't appear the slightest bit concerned about his situation. There is also going over. >> What's under your jacket? What is under? What's under? Don't put your hands in your >> pocket. Don't reach. >> I'm not going to tell you one more time. >> One more time. >> Don't reach in your pockets, please. >> You okay? Where you from? >> Walk, please. It's going to be a double park. color. >> We're going to be waiting. >> Just want to know who you are. That's it for now. >> Sir, sir, sir, don't just keep your hands out of your pocket. >> Yeah, we Sir, we just need your hands out of your pocket. >> You put your hands in your pocket. >> Yo, yo, you guys. You guys, you guys chill out. Chill out. I know it's a happy day, bro. It's the coolest day of the week. >> We're asking you for just one second. >> I've seen y'all already. I'm trying to tell you guys I'm chill, bro. >> He appeared remarkably calm and relaxed as if he had done nothing wrong. He even went on to deny every allegation against him. >> I was on I was on everything. No, I I was talk. I was chilling with everybody. I was chilling with everybody. I wasn't still >> You sure? Because they called about you. So you they weren't chilling with you. Maybe you were chilling with them. They weren't chilling with you. What's your name? David. I don't understand. This >> What is this? You just came out of the hospital? >> Yeah. New York City. All right. Is that where you're from? >> A little bit. >> David. David, your name? >> Yeah. >> All right. Just take your information down. >> David >> Sahe. >> Yeah. >> David, do you live in New York? >> Yeah. >> Where? >> Um, I be moving around with like >> So, you're homeless? You don't have a place? Okay, cool. >> I'm trying to go to a shelter. >> All right. There's one in Union City. Once we're done here, we'll let we'll give you the address over there. All right. I'm not trying to go in your city though. Union City. >> It's Union City. It's still in the area. >> Oh, few blocks away. >> Save it. >> And I'm just going to lift your wrist up so you can get the info. >> Immediately afterward, officers spotted a phone that matched the one reported stolen from Cricut Wireless. However, it seemed he already had an excuse prepared for how it ended up in his possession. >> Yeah. >> You like black coffee? So do I. >> You buy new? >> Yeah. I just bought it. >> Yeah. From where? >> We have >> uh Apple. >> The Apple store. What you want? >> Uh Brooklyn. >> Brooklyn. >> Brooklyn. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> They seen the phone. They think I took it when I ran cuz I was talking to girl when I when I when I >> Call me Call me Call me ASAP. >> All right. >> Call me ASAP. brand. >> All right. Bye. Okay. Okay. Okay. Bye. >> Do they have uh >> He's getting They're getting close now. >> What's What's your name, sir? >> Davis Honda. >> I'm sorry. >> I'm not trying to eat too much, but it really nothing happened. >> Nothing happened at Cricket? >> No. >> Okay. So, that iPhone, that's your iPhone? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Where'd you get it? >> I bought it I bought it um I bought it a long time ago. >> You bought it? It was like it it was like um [clears throat] >> like a couple months ago like my brother just gave me the phone. >> So you bought it or your brother gave it to you? >> Yeah, my brother bought it for me. >> Oh, your brother bought >> cuz I I I gave him the money. >> Where did he buy it? >> He bought it at the Apple store from Canada. >> His story kept changing from claiming he had bought the phone recently to saying he had owned it for a long time and finally insisting that his brother had bought it for him. The constant contradictions clearly exposed his dishonesty. At that point, officers had heard enough and made their decision. >> Your hands on the wall. Go ahead. >> Oh, you got it. I'm sorry. >> Place your hands behind your back. >> You are under the phone. All right. Cooperate with him. Don't give it the right time. >> And hopefully we'll get this over with soon. All right. Can't go into stores and just taking people's stuff. Okay. You want your drink or you want us to throw it off for you? Are >> you wearing pants? Oh, >> you're not wearing pants. Okay. >> You want your drink? Just enough. >> Yeah. Come here. David was charged with shoplifting. Dishonesty only made the situation worse when the evidence was already there. Changing stories and denying responsibility only strengthened the case against him. Taking accountability early is always better than trying to escape the truth. Even worse, the woman could not even control her own behavior. >> I haven't I haven't do nothing. >> Man, I don't have nothing. >> Kick me. >> On the 14th of May 2024, police received a call from Walmart regarding a woman suspected of shoplifting. At that moment, officers approached her as she pushed a shopping cart out into the parking lot. This is what happened at that time. >> You got an ID on you? >> You don't have an ID on you? >> What's your name? >> Nikia. What I do? >> What's your last name? Nikia. >> What I do? >> Can you spell Nikia for me? >> I'm saying what's the problem? >> Can you spell your name for me? >> Okay. But what's what's the problem? >> We got a call about shoplifting. >> I wasn't stealing. I'm waiting on my grandma now. If I was stealing, >> if I was stealing, I would have left. >> Do you have a receipt? >> And that's fine. We'll we'll get to that part as soon as I figure out who you are. Do you have a receipt for the stuff that you purchased? The woman stayed silent when asked about the receipt, but she had no intention of cooperating. Her actions only prolonged the situation and prevented police from ending it. >> Okay. I had paid for this. You're not me. >> Okay. How I'm not Okay, but >> Okay, BUT PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY DRINK. >> STOP. STOP. >> BUT I HAVEN'T But y'all, I haven't did nothing. Why? >> But I didn't do nothing. I'm just trying to get I just tried to get my drink. >> Why? >> I just tried to get my drink, dog. Listen to why y'all trying to >> I just tried to get my drink though >> from Walmart. >> No, I didn't. I was trying to get my drink detained for stealing stuff from Walmart. >> You ain't got to hurt me like that. >> Just >> Okay, BUT Y'ALL AIN'T GOT TO HURT ME. I ain't doing nothing wrong. Stop. >> All right. Do you have anything on you that could poke me and stick me and hurt me in any way? >> What are you detaining me for? >> Because I was called here for shoplifting and you're not able to just the receipt. So >> I you said I he got my stuff. >> Shortly after officers began searching the woman, but nothing went smoothly. Her actions afterward only led to additional charges against her. >> Man, get I just told you I don't have nothing. >> Well, we got to put on you. Y'all get off my arm, >> MAN. GET I don't have nothing. >> Kick me kick, >> man. I don't [screaming] got nothing. DAMN. >> This foot up. Pull your foot out. >> No, cuz I don't have anything. Y'all doing all that for no reason. >> Okay. If you take anything into the jail, any contraband, [laughter] it's an additional charge cuz I don't have anything. Damn. I just told you that. You're making this a lot more difficult than I am. >> Okay. Can you let my ARM GO THAT [ __ ] HURT? >> You going to relax? >> Yes. >> Just nobody apply any pressure to you. You just >> Okay. >> Step back. >> See? Okay. Shortly after, officers returned the items to the store for inspection, and an employee confirmed that the stolen merchandise turned out to be the clothing the suspect was wearing. >> We can't work on the other day in the pink shirt that she's wearing. Here's a bag as she pulls up. She doesn't have another one. Another shirt, I guess. I don't know. We have her sweater. Yeah. >> The total value of the merchandise was reportedly $145, which was not enough to qualify as a felony. So, she was released shortly afterward. However, officers explained that she would still have to face charges. >> What I need you to do is need to sign right here. The citation is not admission of guilt. All you're doing is signing and saying you receive it. You have a court date. >> Yeah, we have a coffee. We'll get a coffee. I'll be right back with you. yellow right here. >> Yeah, I will. The woman was charged with shoplifting and obstruction. A simple mistake might still leave room for consequences, but turning the situation chaotic with resistance [music] and defiance only made everything far worse for her in the end. Worse, she kept trying to portray herself as innocent. >> Stop. >> Stop resisting. >> Why are you putting behind it back? >> You never said you're under arrest. >> Okay, doesn't have to do. It's implied. Murder of all. No, it wasn't implied. >> On May 31st, 2024, police received a call from Dollar General reporting an ongoing theft. The suspects, a man and a woman, initially fled, but officers quickly located them. Here's what happened when police approached them. >> Hey, did you guys just come to a dollar store? >> Okay. Well, I saw pictures of you guys coming from the dollar store. >> Did you guys take stuff without paying for it? >> I gave her head now. She gave me a head back. I mean, a hidden not bad dash. >> Okay. Well, now they're calling on us saying you guys took stuff from the dollar store. >> Really? >> Yeah. >> Well, I can I >> Let's go talk over here. So, we're out the street. Okay. >> What did you guys What did you guys think? >> This bag of the lady I looked at the lady went like this and she went like that and I left and we didn't run or anything. >> Okay. Did you guys open that stuff? Did you open it? >> All right. >> I'm hungry. We were trying to go to that spot and get shoes. >> Okay. Well, >> you want this bag? >> There was no trace of shame even when the theft was admitted. They even explained their reason for stealing as if the items naturally belong to them. >> It's over. >> I don't have any money on me. That's why the boat job. >> Okay. I I understand you guys are coming on hard times. All right. I just I'm going to get you guys information and we'll go from there. Okay. >> My info. >> Yeah. You guys have warrants? >> No. >> You got warrants, man? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. >> Is there an ear? He doesn't have his back if that's the issue. >> You got warrants, buddy. >> Huh? >> You got warrants? >> Yeah, probably. Maybe. I don't know. >> Okay. You know what I got to do now, right? All right. Just set that stuff down. I'll put you in handcuffs. I'll run. Ma'am, you're not free to go. >> Why? >> I said so. >> 22. Ma'am, >> don't go. >> Where am I going? >> I want to be out with these nines at Brown and Krauss. >> More so >> 85. >> 85. What? >> What about you? >> Huh? >> Oh, what's her What's the issue? She Do you want to go back? >> Well, we're probably going to have to go back. Okay. >> Do me a favor. Set that stuff down. I'm going to run you guys' information. I got to put you in handcuffs. My man, you said you have warrants, right? >> Don't reach in your pockets. >> Show me. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's still reaching your pocket, though. Turn around for me. >> All right, let's go have a seat. >> Even when handcuffed, the man remained fully cooperative. While the woman grew increasingly unmanageable, her behavior becoming rather bizarre at this point. >> Any math or anything like that? You don't have to show me. >> Well, I'm emptying my bra before you touch me. >> I'm not going to touch you. >> Okay. >> I just asked you. >> No, I don't have any words. >> Okay. Pull your shirt back down. Can I get my chips back, please? I'm trying to go to my house, which is on Herbert. >> On Herbert? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, you guys went to the Dollar General. >> I just grabbed I swear to God that the tall lady at the register looked She went like that. >> Okay. Do me a favor. Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> Why? >> Because I said so. >> Listen, >> don't push me. What's wrong with you? >> Stop. >> Stop resisting. >> Turn around. >> Put the back. Stop. Stop. >> Stop. Stop. >> Stop. >> Stop. Stop. Stop. Pull away. Put your >> arm back behind your back. >> Stop. Stop trying to kick. >> For what? Knock it off. What is wrong with you? >> Sit right there. What is wrong with you? >> What is wrong? >> 22. Can I have another cruiser? I need to put this female in a different cruiser. >> Her whip. >> I've already got a male in there. >> The situation escalated due to the woman's unexpected resistance. And surprisingly, she continued to believe she was innocent afterward. >> Simple case. And now you made it so much harder. >> What is it? >> Now you're going to jail. >> Why? >> Well, you pinched the out of me. You stole from Dollar General. >> Can I please Can you please let me go? My birthday is June 5th. >> I don't give a [ __ ] about your birthday. Knock it off. >> What am I doing? I really I was just trying to go. >> Stay right there. Don't move. >> What? >> Stand up. >> Put your feet under you and stand up here, >> please. Can you stand up? Please put your feet in the cruiser. Sit down. >> Is this reference? >> Yeah. >> She pinched the [ __ ] out of me. She what? >> Pinched the [ __ ] out of me. >> Blood pinched you? >> Yeah. All right. My name is Sergeant Velasic. >> Okay. What's your name? >> Right after everything unfolded, the woman was placed into the patrol car. But from that moment on, she began causing trouble in a different way, confronting the officers as if she knew exactly how their procedures worked. Hey, >> what did you do? I'm trying to What are you? >> Okay. Well, you don't need to do all that moving around, so I'm just going to talk to you through the the window. Okay. >> What's your name, sweetie? >> Anna. >> Anna. Anna, what's your last name? >> I don't What? It's Dery. >> Dery? >> Yeah. Okay. Is there any time that our officers aren't able to to solely just put somebody in handcuffs, i.e. there's a struggle or use of >> I was sitting on the curb. >> Okay. Hold on. First of all, I'm here. Second of all, you never said you're under arrest. >> Okay. Doesn't have to. It's implied. >> Third of all, no, it wasn't implied. >> It's implied. When they tell you to turn around, put your hands behind your back. It's implied that you're under arrest. >> No. Okay. >> You You Whoever grabbed me by on the shoulder, >> can I explain to you why I'm here? Or at least finish trying to explain to you why I'm I I mean, you can't try. >> Okay, I'm trying to, but >> I'm trying to listen. Can I scoot up and talk to you like a person? >> Sure you can. >> Then why did you slam the door in my >> Well, because you've been kicking and spitting at people and inside this cruiser, so I didn't want to get kicked or spit on. >> I don't want to get touched and handcuffed for nothing. >> Okay. Well, you did you shoplift today? >> No, >> you didn't. >> No, I thought it was a courtesy. >> You thought it was a courtesy. I think restaurant or businesses just give out free stuff as a >> courtesy. The the woman on the first register said, "Okay." >> Okay. that no >> to me >> you initially told the officer that she nodded at you >> instead of >> so what I'm saying >> all right so what I'm going to do is I'm going to read you your Miranda warning before I for start talking to you in the first place cuz we're having conversations that are started to be admissions in and retractions of guilt so you have the right to remain silent anything you say can will be used [music] against you in a court of lawyer and have him or her present with you before any questioning if you >> constantly interrupting the woman showed no sign of respect and when she realized she couldn't change the situation she began recounting her circumstance dances in an attempt to gain sympathy. >> Take care of my grandmother who lives on Herbert and I'm I am hungry. It wasn't a those chips. >> I haven't ate them in a while. I was chilling. I swear to God, I haven't had these in a while. Fritos. If I wasn't chilling, it would be a different kind or something stupid. >> And I'm sorry that Well, I'm not sorry for something I do for you. I was on the way to my house with myself. >> So, did you take those items from the store? No, those are the chips. >> Where'd you get the Where'd you get the chips from? >> I don't know why I'm stressing about it, but that's what I found. >> Okay, Anna, where did you get the chips from? >> The ginger. Yeah, I want to put it. >> Where did you get those items from? >> Um, maybe I don't Dollar Tree, Dollar General. >> Okay. The one right down the street on exchange. >> I'm not sure. It was like >> Okay. But you got them from a store? >> Yes. >> Did you pay for them at the store? >> Um, I mean, no, not with money. >> Okay. >> All right. Did you Did you assume that you paid for them? some other way. How did you assume in what manner did you assume that you paid for that? >> The first register should know stop. >> I don't know. I have money and I didn't want anything. I don't know. I don't know. >> Okay. >> So, you you you said that you you paid for them in a in a fashion other than money. >> Like store credit. >> Store credit. Do you have credit? An open line of credit with the store? >> No. Actually is where I go. It was clear that she changed her story from her initial statement. And even when confronted about her earlier resistance, she continued to lie. >> When the officer told you to turn around and put your hands behind your back, >> what did you do? >> I He didn't say that. >> What did he say? >> He didn't say anything. >> He didn't say anything? >> No. >> Okay. So then what happened? >> I don't know. He grabbed me and I felt threatened. But uh I was I was sitting on the curb. You were sitting at the curb at the time. >> When I stood up, I didn't move. He didn't say he did not say that. >> Okay. So, let's walk back a little bit. So, when he tried grabbing your arms >> from putting you into handcuffs, >> was a fight orflight response? I didn't mean to. I didn't do anything. I didn't I don't I didn't do anything. >> Okay. >> Or threaten. >> Okay. Um, did the officer have to use any force to place you in handcuffs? >> Um, not really. Not to was I was >> not really. So, well, putting you in handcuffs would be restraining you. You understand? So, >> scared me a little bit. >> Okay. So, did he have to >> So, did he have to like put you in an arm lock, an arm bar? Did he kick you? Did he punch you? Did he Did he tase you? Did any Did he use any force? >> I'm double jointed, so I could use force that was unnecessary. And he didn't tell me to pull my hands back. Okay. So, what force did he use that was unnecessary >> other than trying to place you in handcuffs? >> The woman was charged with theft and probation violation while the man was charged with theft. Small dishonest choices, even when driven by hardship, can quickly escalate into legal consequences. Owning up early and cooperating fully can make all the difference. Next, this woman believed she could deceive the police with her lies. >> You can't say a woman that wasn't under arrest. >> You're detained. You are detained. >> But you were what? >> Because I'm not a lawyer, though. >> I'm confused. >> On the 17th of January, 2024, officers approached a woman suspected of carrying out a bank fraud scheme by withdrawing money from an account that did not belong to her. This was what happened next. >> Hi. How you doing, man? >> I'm good, man. Good. You got an idea on you. What's go what's going on? >> Um, can I talk to you outside real quick? >> Here's your idea if you want to talk to Let me talk to her. Okay. >> Okay. So, what So, what's going on? She drew total of 9,500 last week. >> Okay. And this name here is just name her ID or >> Okay. And but that's not the name of the account. >> Yes, it is. >> Okay. But it's not her. >> Okay. So on the 12th Friday, she came in and took 95 to my out of this account. Okay. >> Okay. Um, apparently later that day, the real person went into their branch in Illinois and said, "Hey, this is for she back in." And now she was trying to the same name trying to make a deposit in a different account. have the same account under the same name. I think she's probably trying to follow this and then >> she's trying to deposit the money into a different now. >> From the bank employees statements, there were already plenty of reasons to suspect the woman's actions. Even at that moment, her evasive behavior only raised those suspicions even further. >> All right. Do you want any rest of mind? Do you want to answer questions? Talk to me. I I mean, like I said, I just came to do a deposit. >> Yes. Have I said yes or no first on that? >> No. You don't want to answer any questions? >> No. I I want to know what's going on. >> Well, then I need Do you want to talk to me or you don't want to talk to me? >> I'll talk to you. >> Okay. So, yes. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, you came here to deposit a check. The check your name? >> Yeah. Well, it's a it was a money order that was given some money >> from where? Um, >> I sold I sold some stuff on eBay. >> Went and picked it up from uh Western Union. >> You think you check out Western Union here locally or where? >> I don't remember exactly where it was. >> You was it Cole Springs or >> No, it was in um >> I'm not from around here so I don't really know the towns. >> Where you from? >> I'm from Chicago. Okay. >> Aurora. Aurora. Exactly. >> How long you been down in Florida? >> Just for a couple since last week. I got here last Wednesday. >> Okay. You moving here or are you visiting? >> I'm visiting my um I went to a uh family wedding. >> Where at? >> At the um in Bonita Springs. Oh, >> okay. She even had to pause and think before naming a location, almost as if she was trying to decide which place to choose. Moments later, she offered her explanation for being there, but it was just as hard to believe. >> What do you mean? What brought me to this? >> Yeah. Well, >> well, I came here um last week, so I just >> What day last week? >> Um Thursday or Friday? I haven't. >> Okay. Did you do the same thing? You deposit a check or >> Yeah, >> you deposit or cash it or >> I withdrew money? >> Yeah, because I went to the uh I went to the wedding, so I need cash. >> Oh, she go to the ATM or >> No, I came in here. >> Oh, okay. Ma'am, do you have a good phone number I can reach you at? >> I lost my I lost my um this is my niece's phone. I don't even remember. >> What's your number? My number is 630. >> I don't know cuz I got to call myself. >> I checked one time through Illinois. >> Okay. So, I was going to verify is what he said. Um, so on January 12th, she came in, withdrew money from her Ramirez account of basically $9,500. And then the real Alma supposedly went to her account, realized that she would had that money withdrawal from that here, flagged the account, and now she's back today. Alma open a new account or she did >> open up another account. Okay, but cancel this one. At this point, the officers directly confronted the woman about the suspicious activity surrounding the account.
