Her entire story began to fall apart as the evidence against her continued to pile up. >> So then I called my sugar daddy and was like, "Um, can you wire $500 over here?" >> Which card did you try to use? >> I try to use them all. >> You try to use them all? >> All. On the 16th of February, 2026, officers received two separate calls reporting thefts. A lift driver reported that a suspect had stolen his wallet, while a store reported [music] a $320 sweater had been stolen. Both incidents pointed to the same woman, so officers quickly approached her. Here's what happened next. >> What exactly happened inside the store that you said you were trying to buy something in the store over there? >> Well, I went in the dressing room and so the lady was really rude to me. Like, I don't know if I look like I don't have money or what. So, I went in the dressing room and was in there had like five or six outfits. She came and knocked on the door. I was like, "Yeah." She was like, "Are you okay?" I was like, "Yeah." She was like, "Well, there's some other people that are are wanting to try on some clothes." And I was like, "Okay, I'm slow, right?" So, I came out, got a different size, went back, >> tried them on, came back out, >> went to the counter to pay. Um, there was a sweater that was like $325. >> A sweater that was what? >> A cashmere sweater. It was like $325. The jeans were like 168. It was 500. >> What's your first name again? >> My first Stephanie. >> Stephanie. Can you mind? You mind showing us your stuff to see if that sweater's in there? >> Yeah. No, I don't you at all? >> Yeah, please. Thank you, Stephanie. >> She has the sweater at the desk. >> She has a sweater? >> Yes. >> So, you didn't take anything out of there that you shouldn't have taken? >> No, not at all. >> Okay. >> Accusers don't have the right to know what I'm being accused of. >> Stealing. Stealing. >> And who's accusing me, though? >> The store owner over there. That's who they're talking to over there. My guy My partner's talking to them over there. >> Is it a woman? A guy? >> Uh, well, I have to find out. My partner's talking to them, so I don't know exactly, but someone's someone called. >> She got us. >> Yeah. Listen, if that's what it is, that's fine. >> Treating me back. >> I got you, but we just have to double. You understand? We're the police. We got to double check. >> She was treating me like like I didn't have money. >> I got you. >> So then I called my sugar daddy was like, "Um, can you wire $500 over here? This lady's treating me bad, and I just want to show her that I have it." And then I was like, "No." >> So I see I see that you have a wallet there. You sure you don't have any IDs? No, >> she tried to make herself look wealthy to prove that she was innocent, but two [snorts] separate theft reports clearly couldn't be just a coincidence. At this point, the officers directly confronted her about the stolen wallet. >> What's your name? >> Stephanie. >> Stephanie. >> I need that wallet. >> What wallet? >> That brown wallet from this morning. >> Come clean with me. Okay. Either >> you you got dropped off at the airport this morning, right? You said or no? >> Okay. Let me read you your right first before I go before I ask you more question. Okay. Okay. Stephanie, >> you were dropped off by the way by the lift driver this morning. Okay. >> And you were dropped off right by blue departure by American Airlines. Jump joke >> new departures American by American way the uh the blue driver dropped you off at >> I don't know exactly >> you don't remember >> okay okay when the vehicle stopped you stay in the you stay in the vehicle the driver got out okay and when he returned he's missing his wallet where is it right now >> his wallet was laying in the back seat of the car >> okay okay >> do you mind if we look in the >> I'll give it to here. >> No, she you got it. We know you got it. >> Yeah. >> Okay. There was also $20 in the middle uh in the center console. Where is it? >> The reason why we make contact with you because we already know what happened. Okay. We saw it. >> All right. >> I didn't steal anything out of the store. >> Okay. >> And I just picked that wallet because it was blank there. >> Did Did you make a couple attempt to charge his credit card? >> I did. >> You did? Okay. Meanwhile, another officer approached the store to learn more about the earlier incident by taking a statement from the employee. >> So, uh, this lady from before, what's the deal with her? >> Okay, this is her receipt. >> That's her receipt >> that she tried to uh pay those and the car get declined. >> That's a lot of stuff >> and declined and declined and declined. But, uh, I >> Oh, that's from it getting declined. That's not just items. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I understand. >> I feel like that that's like a man's name. >> Mhm. Yeah. So, you asked her about it. >> No, I just realized it when I cancel everything >> cuz she she tried to buy it. They decline. She only uh one of the cars get approved for only like $2 and something. >> I got you. >> So, then she said, "No, I don't want it. You've been rude to me. I don't want to spend my money here." Whatever. I say, "Okay, >> you you guys have all your merchandise, right?" Cuz we looked through her stuff and I didn't see anything. >> Okay. Let me check. That's my >> Can I take this? >> Yes. Yeah. And you bring back or you need it? >> I can make a copy. >> Yeah. No. No. Well, whatever you want to do. >> One of this one. >> Uhhuh. >> Is the one I think that I'm missing >> cuz I we'll we'll double check when we look through her stuff. That's what you think you're missing? >> Cuz she tried this one and the dark one and a pair of pants. And when she walked away of the fitting room, I asked her, "Where is the other piece?" >> Like I said, we looked through her stuff and I didn't see it. >> Okay. >> I'm I'm just letting you know, but >> No. Yeah. >> Back with the woman, officers had to check her belongings again. And what they discovered raised even more questions about the information she had provided earlier. >> I think I don't know. Dispatch, she has no >> No, we got a we definitely got an idea. But uh I'm going to look through your stuff again. You're positive you didn't take their sweater? >> Positive. >> 100%. >> I'm 100%. >> All right. It's like I took a picture of what it is. They're not >> They think they're not sure, but um >> Yeah, we Yeah, she has a wallet. I think what's inside one of the bags? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. So, I have the >> This was it. >> No. >> Oh, okay. Stephanie, right? Stephanie, we're not getting anything back on your ID. So, you're giving me a fake name, right? Britney 35. Copy. All right, Britney. Now, we're done lying, right? I know your real name. We know you stole something. Do you have anything else that that's from there? So, we can get it now. >> You haven't been honest with me and I don't appreciate it. >> You understand? So, that's it. Just that. Yeah. >> Are we positive? >> 100%. When we search this, we're not going to find any anything else. >> The male victim, the lift driver whose wallet was stolen, was later called to the police department to provide a statement. He recounted what happened, pushing the case forward for prosecution. >> I got her luggage out. I got her little alley bag out and and I open her door, you know, trying to be a gentleman. Hey, do you need some help or anything? She said, no, no. I open the other door and I say, look, you got some more stuff. I can help you carry it to the bag and put it there. and she said, "Oh yeah, yeah, take this." But for some reason, she kept her pillow in a blankety and she was hiding something. I wasn't sure. I didn't want to question her because, you know, we already had like a bad bad buy at first, you know, like okay, whatever. So, I took her out and I like in my head I'm like one less person to worry. >> I'm ready to go home and not worry about anything else. I'll go to exit 224 to fill out my gas and I open the compartment because I know my wallet was there because a passenger before her it was there and I confirm it. >> Where exactly in your >> um on you know how they got that the two seat the driver and the passenger right in the center >> the center console >> called console. Yeah. >> And I know my wallet was there. So when I open it too I'm like oh no why is the wallet not there? I look for the 20 bucks. I'm like okay it's not there. cuz I checked the whole car because I'm I know I did not move it. >> But hey, just in case. You never know. >> Yeah. >> I start getting notification on the phone that my car being used, which I'm going to show you the notification. >> Yeah, if you can send those to me, I'd appreciate that your car is your car is being used. You know, you should be good. Like I said, it it was 100% her. >> Use my RA. Finally, officers found the $320 stolen sweater from the store hidden inside her luggage along with a pair of Meta Ray-B band smart glasses valued at $32143, [music] which were also reported stolen. They also discovered 5.5 Xanax bars, four THC infused gummies, and two Kentucky driver's licenses belonging to other individuals, leading to multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree petty theft, giving a false name to law enforcement, fraudulent use of a credit card more than twice, 13 counts of possession of a stolen credit card, unlawful possession of another person's identification, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis resin, and two counts of possession of of a controlled substance. What do you think about the woman's actions in this case? Do you think she made the situation far worse by continuing to lie and hide the evidence? Leave a comment and let us know what you think. Worse still, the mother and her pregnant daughter caused a scene inside Walmart. >> No, you're not going to touch my house. You can keep that. >> No, you arrest. >> You are under arrest. >> I didn't walk out that door. >> Do not move. You are under arrest. On the 24th of May 2023, officers approached two women believed to be a mother and daughter who were attempting to leave the store with a shopping cart containing several unpaid items. When officers confronted them, the mother immediately became difficult and uncooperative. Here is what happened next. >> Yes. >> You ringing stuff packets and then you rang up a tank top for the shirt. I'm going to hang on to your purse for you. >> NO, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO TOUCH MY purse and you can keep that. >> 31. You're not cooperative. YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. YOU ARE UNDER ARREST. >> I DIDN'T WALK OUT THAT DOOR. >> DO NOT MOVE. You are under arrest. You are under arrest. Do not move. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Just follow. Go with them. Go with them. I need you to come here. Place your hands behind your back. >> I'm not going. I didn't say you're going to jail. I said you're under arrest. >> No, THAT'S >> SIR, YOU CANNOT TOUCH ME. >> I can't. You are. >> They completely refused to listen to the officers and repeatedly tried to avoid them. At that point, the mother ran back inside the store, causing the situation to escalate even further. >> You are UNDER ARREST. >> I DID NOT GO NOWHERE. I DID NOT EVEN GO NOWHERE. WHAT IS WRONG with you? Get your hands off of me. >> Okay, get your hands off of me. >> Okay, >> you're hurting me. You're hurting me. You need to back up. You need to back up because she's pregnant. She didn't leave. >> I DIDN'T EVEN GO NOWHERE. I'M NOT MESSING. >> She didn't leave the door. So therefore, you can't grab on her. >> Okay. Okay. Can you let me go? Let go. >> No, I cannot. I can under arrest. >> She's not under arrest. She didn't leave out. >> I DIDN'T EVEN GO NOWHERE. >> WATCH OUT. Get off her. >> Okay. Get Can you just let me go? I cannot. >> Okay. I will do what you >> This is my daughter. Can you stop, please? >> I need her to leave me alone. >> Okay. Hra, stop. >> No. Harra, stop. Okay, she's pregnant. Please let me go and I I will calm down. Stop. Why are you squeezing my arm? Get my phone and record this. >> No, he ain't doing nothing again. YOU DIDN'T WALK OUT THE DOOR. >> OKAY. >> What are you doing? I'm not even doing nothing. >> Get off of her. SHE DID GO OUT the door. So, >> I'm not even doing nothing. >> Let her go. >> I'm not even doing them. So, you have to let her go. >> She is pregnant. >> Okay, real simple. You guys are under arrest. You are not in charge with theft. >> Put your hands in front of you. Take the handcuffs. >> Clearly, the situation became even more complicated when the daughter, who was also believed to be pregnant, repeatedly interfered. The officer had to separate the two women. But she made the process anything but easy. >> It's not up for debate. >> It's not up for debate. >> Get the [ __ ] out. >> Then stop resisting. >> Stop resisting. I'm offering to handcuff. DO NOT INTERFERE with me. >> I'm trying to not hurt you. You are under arrest. You are not in charge of this. >> Get the off. GET THE [ __ ] OFF THIS >> WELL, you got to stop fighting. OKAY. >> ALL RIGHT. Stand up. Stand up for me. Put your hands ON YOUR BACK. OKAY. >> Put your hands on YOUR HELP. You >> move. >> GET OFF OF ME. I DIDN'T DO NOTHING. GET THE OFF. >> You're on. Let's go. >> GET OFF OF ME. I DIDN'T DO NOTHING. GET THE OFF. >> Don't touch me. >> You didn't have TO DO THAT. YOU TWICE HER AGE, MAN. YOU AIN'T HAVE TO. >> It seemed that the women's behavior caused some people around them to misunderstand the situation and take their side. This only gave them more confidence to continue denying their actions afterward. Have >> you seen your rights? You have seen your rights. >> Yes, you are under arrest for theft. Okay. It doesn't matter if you haven't left the store. Once you pass the last point of sale, >> I didn't pass that. >> Well, they have to conceal an item is theft whether you are in the store or not. >> Okay. All right. We're not having court out here. Just go. >> Okay. >> What's your name, young lady? >> My name is See my ID. I watched you look through the whole purse. There's nothing in there. I didn't steal nothing. You didn't see me walk out with nothing. >> Okay. So, you're under arrest right now. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court. You have the right to attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, courts will point one to you. You have the right to stop answering questions at any time. You should talk to an attorney. You also have the right to stop answering questions at any time. You understand what your rights are? >> Mhm. Okay. >> Despite everything they had done, the women showed no sign of remorse or shame. The mother even smiled during the ride to the police station with her daughter, appearing completely unfazed by the situation. >> Come on, man. You need milk? >> Yeah. >> All right. It's going to be a little easier if you can lean back a little bit and get the other leg out. Okay. >> There you go. All right. Now we can scoot forward. >> Now you can press against the frame. There you go. Scoot yourself back. >> I can't honestly can't. Hold on. >> All right, we do this. >> Try to take me out. You >> ready? Watch your head. Watch your head. Watch your head. Watch your head. There you go. Scoot. Scoot. Scoot. Scoop. Scoot. Scoop. There you go. There you go. >> Can I tell you something? >> What's up? >> I would have, even though I was as mad as I was, I would have never took care of that wart. I believe it >> because I never relax I actually forgot about you. >> If you don't get bond posted tonight, you'll see a judge in the morning. >> You okay? >> Where's your purse? >> Tough run with me. I'm going to get your purse and stuff. >> Um, he said my phone is on the >> Yep. I'll get it all. >> Watch your foot, please. >> Hey, real quick, while I got both of you here, I want to say this now so I don't forget later. Okay. Now, understand that what I'm about to say, I tell every person that I take to the county jail. It is not a personal thing. It is not an accusation. It is a statement. Okay? If you have anything on you, any drugs, any paraphernalia, or any weapons, right? Now is your time to >> ladder doesn't have a paraphernalia. >> Oh, >> right. Including marijuana. You got again, >> I'm not making a judgment. I'm making a statement. Right. In the end, both women were arrested for shoplifting and resisting arrest. This case shows how quickly a shoplifting incident can escalate when someone refuses to cooperate with officers. Denying the situation or resisting the arrest only creates more problems and can lead to additional charges. Next, let's shift the mood with the wild chaos caused by this woman who turned the store upside down. >> Trespasser. Go for it. >> Trespassing, huh? >> Yeah. Which means you can't come back here. and let all of you. >> On the 9th of February 2026, officers received a call from a convenience store reporting a woman causing a disturbance and threatening those around her. They quickly arrived at the scene where the woman was already sitting as if she had been waiting for everything to unfold. >> Oh, go ahead. >> I can't wait. I can't wait for this one. >> Which one? Dude, what's going on, man? >> So, I don't even know what the problem is. >> What do you mean? >> That part right there. What the problem is? >> There's no problem. >> That's what I've been trying to say this whole time. >> Are you talking to this either? >> I've been [laughter] I've been trying to say something. I've been trying to say um legally they want to sit there and say because they have a professionally wise >> you have a what? >> Yeah. I know it's wild. So I literally want to know what's really going on. >> M just have a seat for me please. >> Please. Yes. >> I appreciate it. Thank you. Thank you. So they have a problem with you >> or you don't even know what what what the deal was happening. >> Yeah, that is a problem. >> While the woman appeared cheerful and excited, the employees inside had a completely different attitude. When they approached, they seriously explained what had happened. >> Was the lady outside bothering anyone in here? >> Yes, sir. >> Yes, sir. >> What was she doing? 25 minutes in counter here using wording and hitting counter. >> You want to trespass her? >> Yeah, sir. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Go ahead and trespass her. >> Hi. How you doing? I I I'm the one that told her that she had to leave cuz I do security for these guys. So, he told me to go ahead and trespass her. Go for it. >> Trespassing. Huh? >> Yeah. Which means you can't come back here or else you'll be subject to arrest. >> Okay. >> So, you've been you've been trusted property for how long? >> Pretty. >> That's what I'm trying to say is who are you? >> I do security for these guys. >> But you don't even know who I am. >> It doesn't matter. I don't need to know who you are in order to trust. >> So therefore, yes, you >> It was clear that the woman did not accept the trespass order at all. She even appeared ready to run back into the store as if she had every right to do so. Therefore, yes, you can because I came over here and go get my mother. I'mma get my ma'am. If you go in, you'll be okay. >> Okay, ma'am. >> You know, >> put your hands behind the bag for me. >> Behind. >> You're under arrest. Let's step outside. >> Here we go. Absolutely not. >> Okay. >> No. >> No. >> Why are you doing this? >> There you go. >> Absolutely not. So you say absolutely not. >> Get the sleeve up. >> No. No. No. No. And when you get reported, I can't wait. I cannot wait for this boy. >> I can't wait. >> How do we end up like that? >> No. I cannot wait >> for you to get reported. >> Hey, you're being audio and video recorded. >> Of course. >> Yeah. So, I WANT TO BE KNOWN. I know right. I never had my rights. >> You're going to get rid of >> relax. >> I am not I'm relaxed on everything. I never have my moral right. So, I'm burning. So, you physically cannot have anything to say to me. >> Man, relax. You actually ass you never mandatorize me. You ass you never RATHERIZE ME. >> YOU NEVER RATHERIZE ME. >> STAND UP. >> YOU NEVER ratherize me. >> Turn around. >> You never ratherize me. >> Come on. TURN OVER. YOU YOU'RE never >> she acted as though she fully understood her civil rights and the officer's procedures as if this was not her first time dealing with police and just as she wanted the officers read her rights while she was lying on the floor. >> Silent. >> Don't kick. Don't kick. >> No. No. So now you're my resume, you super ass mother. >> No. What happened to me? >> Well, everything's being audio video record. >> Yeah. at this time. Talk to a lawyer involved me >> and have them present with you while you're being questioned. If you can't afford to hire a lawyer, one of your punch to represent you before QUESTIONING IF YOU WISH. >> AND YOU can decide at any time to answer these questions. Do you understand? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Get him off of me right now IF YOU STOP. >> GET HIM OFF OF ME >> because you're kicking. >> I'm not doing it right now. >> Well, you were. >> Get him off of me. >> NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. >> OH, SO YOU LIKE THIS? >> Not at all. >> Nope. Her resistance showed no signs of stopping, so the officers had to use stronger measures to restrain her. >> Just going to protect your head. Okay. She was a little kicky. Okay. >> Hey, do you want to just stop and stand up? Do I put this whole thing on you? >> You just want to stop kicking, stop fighting so we don't put you in that thing. Can you do that? >> Yeah. You can tell me what happened. So, uh, basically what happened was, uh, she was standing at the counter yelling at the, uh, clerk. >> Okay. >> Uh, she wanted to use the bathroom. They kept telling her, "No, she can't. It's not a public restroom." She started screaming and disrespecting them and yelling at them. >> Well, we can put this on before we roll her. >> You think that I'm the worst person in the world? That's why my children is worse than me. No, I get away. I can't wait. >> She started walking to the to the back room because she was fixing to go back there to use the bathroom, but they told her it's not a public restroom. She kept yelling at them and yelling at even through the door. do it and let all of you get her. >> No, whenever I cannot wait. >> Shortly afterward, she was carried out to the patrol car because she clearly could not walk on her own in that condition. She continued to portray herself as the victim of the entire situation. [laughter] So, >> go around the other side. But if I die in your custody, it's going to be because of you. I have the right to remain silent, but yet I do not have the right to be contained in this backseat of this car. Ah, you think that you are doing something? I have the right to be able to speak. When that is the case, I >> tell him she's around there. >> We can let her go when we pull in to be. >> So when everyone says that there's a not opportunity, >> hi. One female, >> she's in the raput. Yeah, >> exactly. Because you never meanderize me. Now you can sit there and you can play all you want. >> You'll never. >> In the end, the woman was charged with criminal trespass, resisting arrest, and urinating in public with bail set at $2,000. [snorts] Civil rights do not give anyone the freedom to ignore lawful orders or resist an arrest. Once a situation escalates, refusing to cooperate can turn a simple dispute into multiple [music] criminal charges. Before moving on to the next theft case, let's take a look at this fraud case. >> There's nothing like checks in cash. I mean, obviously million counts. >> So, how does this work? If this check is uh supposed to be not good, what will I do about it? On the 29th of November 2021, officers received a report from a check cashing establishment after a woman presented a payroll check that was suspected to be counterfeit. When they arrived at the scene, the employees provided specific details to support their allegation. >> We've cash several cookout checks before and that was nothing like the cookout checks from cash. I mean, I've seen a million counterfeit checks and that looks just like every one of them I've ever seen. So, okay. He said that he's cashed phones like this before and that's what >> the woman believed to be the suspect was standing nearby and voluntarily explained where the check had come from. However, her explanation was unclear and raised doubts about its credibility. >> I worked at uh Cookout and I got that in the mail because I had moved. That's That's all I know. So, I couldn't catch it. >> Do you have the rest of the pay stuff? >> No, I don't have it with me. I threw it in the trash. I mean, I had no reason to keep it. >> Where'd you cook at where you work at? >> The one in high school. >> The one in high school. >> The one in high school. >> Yeah. I thought I got my last check in the bell >> before, but that one came so I didn't >> didn't think nothing about it. >> Excuse me. You got to stay here with this officer. She's going to get from some information from me and I'll be right back. >> You said that was your last check. >> Yeah. >> So, how does this work? If this check is uh supposed to be not good, what will I do about it? >> That's what the other officer is going to be able to explain once we figure out what's going on. >> When did you get the check in the mail? 4 days ago, 5 days ago. It might have been before that because it was brought to me. Like it was it came in the mail, but it was brought to me cuz I I'm not I was still at my aunt's house, so she's on hospice. But uh so all my mail was brought to me. >> How long ago did you stop working there? >> Probably about probably had it been about a month. That's what I'm saying. like I when when I I didn't think your last check would come in the mail anyways. >> At that point, the officer called the company listed on the check to verify the information and it seemed that the call had finally clarified everything. >> We have a young lady here in Savannah trying to cash uh one of y'all's checks and uh the place she's trying to cash it at says it's fraudulent and we're trying to verify whether it is or is not. >> Would you be able to tell me? Do you have the check or not? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Okay. Would you be able to tell me? Um, it says Cookout what on it? >> Uh, it says Cookout-Hinesville, Inc., PO Box 9, uh, excuse me, 698, Thomasville, South Carolina, blah blah blah. >> Okay. What does the check number say? >> Uh, the fourdigit number says 7765, >> August 6, 2021. That's the date. Uh, the only date on here that I see says 21122. >> My check number 7765 is written out to SFM Williams >> for $43.86. >> Yeah. No. Uh this one for check number 7765 is uh written out to a Deanna Heathcoat or Hathcoat for 1,27645. >> Yeah. No, that's not. And this is a um >> it says Wells Fargo N. A dot. >> Yeah, that is not our check. >> This is not yours. >> No, it is not. >> Okay. I want to get their information to confirm. >> All right. Now, hold on one second. Um, >> by this point, it was difficult for the woman to deny the offense and the officers placed her in handcuffs shortly afterward. >> Do you have anything on it that we need to know about this? >> All right, go ahead and put your hands behind your back. Is this all you have? >> Officer Moy's going to check this. Make sure you don't have anything else. >> No. So, I don't I don't I mean I don't understand what's going on. >> Okay. Well, we'll tell you in just a minute. We're going to get you place in the back of the car. >> You got anything on you? No. Anything that's supposed to stick me? Anything? I don't have adorable. I just >> The check was determined to be worth less than $1,500, making it a misdemeanor so she would not have to be taken to jail for it. On the way, the officers explained what she would be facing and what would happen next. So, due to the jail not accepting misdemeanors, what we're doing is they're fingerprinting and then you'll get a what's called a subpoena form. This form right now, it just says TBD. So, it has the address that you gave me. They'll mail you a subpoena to let you know when your court date is and everything. Once you get that, then all you have to do is show up to court. >> Oh, I can fight this, right? I mean like it's something that's viable. >> You'll get to tell your side of it from to the court. >> Okay. >> So, normally you would be taken to the jail, >> right? >> Like I said, because they're not accepting misdemeanors at the moment, they won't you won't be taken to the jail. It's still the same process. It's just you're not sitting in a cell. >> The woman was later released and was charged with fourthderee forgery. a misdemeanor. When something seems too good to be true, taking a moment to verify it can prevent a much bigger problem. Trying to explain away inconsistencies only makes the situation harder when the facts are quickly confirmed. So, what happens when the person stealing is actually an employee of the store? >> Well, it was just a there was just a a mistake. I >> And then you have a grand total every so it's 12 total incidences. On the 18th of March 2025, police were dispatched to Walmart's loss prevention office after receiving a report that an employee had taken merchandise without paying. When they arrived, she completely admitted that it had happened, but in a way that reduced the responsibility she had to face. >> Know what the accusations are? >> Yes. >> Okay. Um, do you want to tell me about it? >> Well, I was just a it was just a a mistake. I I really thought I would pay back the sodas and stuff. Like I I usually when I get paid I buy a bunch of Mountain Dews and then I scan a bunch extra to make up for the difference. Like I was trying to explain to her like I do that at the bank too. over a cap over extend my uh my money and then you pay the $35 extra because you uh you're actually borrowing money from them. It was like borrowing but in the long run you're stealing it. But in my head, I was thinking, well, I'll pay it back because I was struggling to keep just basic foods in my refrigerator like peanut butter jelly and uh they've been feeding us lately, so that helped. And uh but mostly it's it's been a struggle because I have taxes due and everything and I was getting short at the last 6 months with the with everything like there's not a stitch of food in my refrigerator out of my freezer. >> Her story was far from convincing to the officer because the store confirmed that this was not the first time she had done this and the officer tried to confront her with that evidence. So, did you know what was happening every day? So, is this like every day at break you would take a soda and >> Yeah. And most of the time I didn't have it in my pocket. uh the next day I would uh I would put it put it in and it was just a matter of just always being short and just not going about it the right way which I thought I'd always catch up. I'd always catch up because it was never like I like I told I would never take money out of the register. I would never even think of >> or put stuff in my pocket book or anything like that. It was just a soda and uh >> And where would you take that from in the store? >> Just at the counters and drink it >> right at the right at the checkout counter. You work on the register, >> right? >> Okay. Okay. So, like right there out of the cooler, you would grab a soda, >> drink it, >> and uh >> usually I would ring it up if I'm to catch catch uh the thing like on my break, I'll ring it up or I'll just wait till the end of the shift or do it the next day or not at all, which end up happening. >> Okay. >> So, we're here about the issues when not at all. It was never rung up. Okay. She then admitted how many times she had done it, further proving that there was no mistake at all. >> Do you know how many times you did this? >> Once a day. >> For how many days? >> Uh, four. >> So, four times that you remember it happening? >> Like, let's say like 15. It must have been like maybe $15 a week if that much. >> Okay. For how long? >> The last six months I've strug been struggling. >> Okay. So, maybe 15 bucks a week for the last of doing that. I just been uh it's just something I started doing and I just got in the habit of it. >> Okay. So, maybe a couple times a week for the last 6 months. >> Yeah. >> Um anything other than that that you'd like to change, modify to your story or anything you'd like to add? Okay. You ever been arrested before? >> I've had a DUI uh 25 30 years ago. Anything else? You ever gotten anything? Any other trouble or arrests that you've been arrested for? >> Uh for domestic uh violence. >> Shortly after the store provided further evidence to support their accusations. >> I want to go over it, but that's every movie broken down every day because this is my first real state. >> Yeah. >> But then some of these are like pictures maybe easier. And some days I like really went and detailed just in case. Uh like right here, I didn't do it to everyone, but I did check it max system. Like I went to see how many were paid this day. >> Okay. >> And none of these were on the same day. >> Okay. >> That's just some of this stuff in there. But um some >> on your report, do you have the days with the amounts? >> Perfect. >> Everything's time she came in, time she left, time she selected. And two of the days I actually witnessed her. Like I was on the floor watching. >> One, two, three, four, five, six. And then you have a grand total of every. So it's 12 total incidences. >> Yep. I could do today, but she's not letting me. >> Who's that? >> She did it today, but Joan won't let me go after it today. >> Okay. >> She She came. Do you want it? >> I I think we got more than enough here. >> Yeah. >> Clearly, getting away with it once gave the woman the confidence to do it again without fearing arrest. But that mindset led her to face the consequences today as the officer explained what she would have to deal with. >> The pattern of behavior. I mean, something like this, I I fully believe if you weren't caught, you would still be doing it to this day. And I would I believe that it probably goes back. There's probably more than 12 incidents. Um, you have some criminal history, so you don't qualify for APAD, which is pre-rest a diversion. Okay. Um, yes, the total is $78, less than $100, but I think the bigger issue is the repeat repeated behavior over an extended period of time and likely would have continued for until you were caught, right? Um, you knew it was wrong. you knew it was, you knew you knew you should be doing it. Um, you're an adult. Obviously, that's, you know, it's different if you're a kid and you're stealing a candy bar here and there. I mean, everybody's probably done that as a kid at some point in time, but you're an adult and over an extended period of time for 6 months this occurred. Um, I have a hard time believing that. You think that at some point you came here and bought and scanned more than you did. Um, moral of the story is when you come into a store You buy something, you pay for it. If you don't, unfortunately, that's a theft. Okay? So, technically, this could be 12 different arrests for every single offense that was caught on camera. Today, we're just arresting you for the totality of it. Okay? In the end, she was arrested and charged with misdemeanor theft, petty theft. Repeatedly taking what does not belong to you can turn a small offense into a pattern of criminal behavior. No matter how minor the value may seem, continuing to make the same choice can eventually lead to serious consequences. Next, these two thieves were hiding an even bigger secret. >> Don't check inside the suitcase. >> Oh, there's a suitcase in there. >> Yeah. Pick that up. You put two watermelon on. On the 23rd of March, 2023, officers were dispatched to a Walmart after receiving a report of two suspects, a male and a female, who had concealed clothing inside a purse and a suitcase. When officers arrived at the scene, the store's asset protection team provided surveillance footage clearly showing their wrongdoing. >> What is it? The items. I got some of >> she with that guy right there. >> No disturbance. regarding the apartments for a lot of parties on the pool. >> I saw the dude. They must have deal. >> She work with that. Is she working with that guy or what? Were they together type of deal? >> They went together when she were doing it, but they met they just met back up and they got over in the uh in this in this cut right here doing something in that suitcase. >> Oh, they both were right there. Okay. >> We couldn't get no good angle on. >> That's good enough for me. Yeah. >> Don't check inside the suitcase. >> Oh, there's a suitcase in there. >> Yeah. He wouldn't pick that up. He put two watermelon on stuck them up in the chest. >> So clothes and in a purse. >> Yes, she got a clothes. >> I'm trying to find it last. >> She didn't look inside the suitcase. I bet there's nothing inside that suitcase. >> Oh yeah. We're going to check >> cuz he just Last time I did this, we got in a fight about it. >> Oh yeah. Yeah, >> we're going to get him before they can get get right to start. >> That hurt me like [laughter] >> has like a little man bag. >> Yeah, I think they got the tattoo. We get him or her. We got him or her. >> Can you switch to the front? They're going to be by the pool. I don't know. >> The moment the couple left the store, officers approached them. From their initial confusion to eventually accepting the handcuffs, it seemed they both understood exactly what was happening. >> Hey guys, humble police. >> Relax real quick, man. Ma'am, >> come here. Hey, come here. Take first. Stop. >> Ow. You're okay. See your hands. >> Ma'am, stop tensing up. I just want to put this down. >> Put your phone right there. Drop it. >> You're okay. >> 33. You got about one minute. 33. Check your phone. >> You have a gun in this. >> 33. You got about one minute. >> No. I'm going take it off real fast. Here it real quick. That way you doing all right tonight. >> You were. What's your first name? You got to think about it. >> No. At least there's some stuff in this purse. You probably didn't pay for it. Is there anything else you didn't pay for? >> Yes or no? >> Yes. >> Huh? >> Okay. Now you know what's going on. >> Anything in your pocket I should know about. >> Don't reach. >> What is it? >> Okay. Use the back of my hand. Okay. >> Okay. >> Is there a way to take this thing off? >> You got a gun or anything? I don't know. >> Shortly afterward, officers recovered the merchandise that had been concealed inside the suspect's bags. Even after the items were found, the suspects showed no sign of shame over what they had done. >> What have you been in trouble for, Madison? >> I'm sorry. >> What have you been in trouble for? I uh well I got arrested once but it was hard dropped >> for what? >> Uh tampering with evidence. >> What' you do? >> I didn't do anything. >> You didn't do anything. They just kicked you out of the random arrested. You know what did they say you did? >> Um they never really did tell me but they put on there that I like hid a weapon. I guess >> hit a weapon. You hiding another weapon? >> No. >> Oh, the she a real one. That's good. Did >> you find the mail? >> No. No record now. >> Jee, let me just straight J. >> My people are really good. run out of Louisiana. >> Yeah, I told him. >> Come on, man. >> What's up, man? >> I asked you. >> I believed in you, Jim. >> The woman continued to act strangely, as if she was under the influence of something. That behavior soon had an explanation when officers discovered what she had hidden inside a small bag. That cocaine, Jeff. >> That's cocaine. >> Come on, Je. You're better than this. >> Pretty good little chunks of it, too. >> Yeah. >> Oh, you're better than this, man. Come on. I believed in you, Jeb. I believed in you when you told me there there wouldn't be eyes, >> man. There's knives in there, buddy. >> I swear to God, I >> Come on, man. I believe in you. You disappointed me, J. >> Yeah. What are you trying to burn down, dude? >> God dang. >> Wow. >> Torch. >> That's no joke, dude. >> Legit torch. >> Literally, the only thing in here is drug stuff, dude. There's nothing else. It's >> just your drug bag, huh? >> Is that why you're lying about your name or no? Swear to God. That's your name. >> Okay. >> Cuz I got to find out. >> Under 4 oz or 4 G. >> Maybe right there. >> Maybe right there. I got a uh scale in a car. Yeah, I got one. >> You might be in luck, D. Cuz here in Harris County, if it's under four G, then we'll do a warrant for your arrest. Okay. >> Instead of actually take it. >> It didn't stop there. As the suspects were taken to the patrol vehicle, officers discovered another item on the woman during a search, further suggesting that she had used it shortly before. >> Hey, did you take anything before before this? >> What do you mean? You take any I know y'all have drugs. So like this. What's that? >> Um I don't know what that is. >> You don't know what that is? That's in your pocket. >> I don't know. >> You sure? >> You don't know? >> Okay. Now, now you're making me worried. Oh, there's another baggie. What are you going through? Quick. Quit going through your pocket. Your back pocket. Okay. >> Oh, here. You want me to put quarters back in there? Keep trying stuff in the pockets. >> Is there anything in your backpocket 33? >> 6733. Can you come over here real fast? I'm going >> have a female officer come check you real quick. Okay. Cuz I found this already. here. >> Is there anything in her hand? No, just a quarter. Both suspects were charged with theft, while the woman also faced possession of a controlled substance. This case showed how a simple theft could quickly turn into more serious legal trouble when illegal substances were discovered. Their actions only gave officers more evidence and increased the consequences they had to face. Next, this woman could not escape what the cameras had recorded. >> You guys happy to see what she like concealed? >> It's the glove she's wearing. And then there's some sunglasses that [music] she has going into your box. >> All right. All right. >> Yes. >> You're going to be >> on the 15th of February 2025, police received a call from Walmart reporting that they had caught a woman committing theft inside the store. Her actions were still ongoing and when officers arrived at the scene, they were able to witness everything through the surveillance cameras. >> Hello. Hello. >> If you could see >> she has them right there in her hand. >> Only the white vehicle is lane. Everyone is appears to be just >> No, it's not the other ones. If you look at her hand under her arm, she right there. >> So she's with that dude. >> Yeah. >> The male had a bandana. I don't know why he did it. It could have been I kept on. >> You guys happy to see what she like concealed? >> It's the glove she's wearing. And then there's some sunglasses that she has. >> So >> the gloves she's wearing. >> Yeah. It looks like bandages, but I guess they're gloves. 25 >> $3 item. He has something too, but I don't I'm on him. >> The paper. >> Oh, sorry. >> And you guys Thank you. >> You guys want to She charges trespass or >> not sure it was like holding. >> Well, they're thinking she's trespassed already, so they're trying to find that, >> but she does have those two items. >> Charge for those. >> Um, yeah. >> Hopefully, they don't go out, though. >> They might show you like that is [music] London. >> There's an exit in automotive. >> Yeah, that door. It's just that door. >> They're going to try to go out there. >> Okay, let's go. >> Okay. The moment they attempted to leave through the store's back exit, [music] they were stopped by the loss prevention officers. They were then taken to the loss prevention office after being placed in handcuffs. I'll be report more to the >> original. >> You're being detained for >> Okay. Here's a It has a receipt, but it >> Why am I being detained? >> For shoplifting. >> I was not shoplifting. See the next door? You're >> saying this is what you bought today? What color is it? >> Is it red? >> The woman denied committing theft, but she later explained her actions, which were considered conduct that could result in her arrest. >> So, the reason we're here is because you're saying that you were concealing on your person. So concealing means that you're like hiding things like inside of your toe. >> All right. So they did tell us that you were concealing some items. So you were observed on the video camera. >> Okay. But you can check right there. I I didn't I did >> Okay. And everything that's on you? >> Yes. >> Is yours nothing from the store? >> No, this is mine. >> Yes. I didn't take anything. I did buy it. He >> he they're back over there. Back where >> I was I had him on and I took him off. >> Okay. Okay. Where'd you leave them? >> I didn't leave them nowhere. I left where the where the gloves and everything that I left them there. >> Like on like in the store, out outside the store. >> On the on the rack. I put them on and look at I didn't like them, so I threw them back in there. I don't have it. You could check. I don't have no gloves. Those are the only two things I bought. He bought it for me. [music] >> Put them back on the rack. >> Yeah. But no, I put it back on the rack. And they got her outside. >> I didn't have him outside. >> I didn't take him outside. >> I didn't. >> You understand this is an arrestable offense. So your level of cooperation is going to determine whether or not >> it was clear that this woman did not realize that her actions were considered a crime. On top of that, she had already been trespassed from the store and she confirmed shortly afterward that she knew about it. >> Do you know you've been trespassed from here before? >> Yes. Like did they tell him how many stuff? I'll get a ticket or something. I have to make up. >> I didn't even receipt. I told you guys. >> He didn't know. I didn't walk out the store though. >> I gave back to him. He said to give it back to him. So, I gave back to him. Who told you to give him >> when you were exiting right now? Is that when you gave it to him? >> Yeah. >> I didn't walk out the store though. >> Which kind of vehicle do you >> I'm sorry. Is that the only Is that the only thing you >> envelop? That means that you can't be in the parking lot. You can't go to this Walmart to shop. You're no longer welcome at this Walmart. They will want you on the property. >> I said he said he doesn't know anything about like her. The man was determined to have no knowledge of the woman's actions and the store employees confirmed that shortly afterward. The officers explained what he would have to face based on the store's decision. >> Okay. So, they're going to want you trespass from their property. Okay. That means that you can't be in the parking lot. You can't come to this Walmart to shop. You're no longer welcome at this Walmart. They don't want you on the property. If they find you on the property shopping, >> what what did I do? >> It's because you're with a a individual who's known to shop with. She's already been trespassed. She they have a trespassing card for her. So it's kind of like who you hang out with obviously and they just don't want that kind of company around. Okay. So you're not able to shop here. That's unlimited. So if they come back in 5 years with this and they want to pursue charges for that, you can get cited or arrested for for the trespassing. Okay. >> All right. Do you understand? >> All right. Just let me clear up the rest of it. Then you'll be free to take these items and then probably head out. All right. I won't come back over here again. Well, this guy I him. He said he doesn't know anything about like protesting and stuff like that. They just want to trust us. >> Did you guys come together? >> Yeah. >> The woman tried to plead for herself after seeing the man being released, but it was clearly impossible. She showed no sign of remorse and even resisted before being taken away. >> I got it. Go ahead and stand up at 1756. >> Here, put your hands behind. I will go into your pocket. I don't need you to go into your pocket. >> Going into your pocket. >> All right. All right. Stop. >> Stop. Yes. >> You're going to be >> You need to stop. You need to stop. >> All right. [snorts] >> [ __ ] Do you have leggings underneath this? >> Yes. >> Switch me or you go outside? >> So, you want to switch me? You got that pocket? I haven't checked that pocket. >> My cell phone and all my stuff. You're being searched. Okay. Well, then go ahead without anything else. >> In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting and trespassing. This case shows that denying wrongdoing does not erase the evidence. Ignoring a trespass order and continuing illegal actions can turn a simple theft investigation into much more serious consequences. Next, this woman tried to play innocent even after attempting to run away. >> You pregnant? >> Yes, I'm doing all this stuff. >> I can't breathe, sir. On the 15th of January 2023, officers responded to a report of a shoplifting at a Bath & Body Works store. By the time they arrived, the suspect had already fled. So, they began gathering information by interviewing the employees who witnessed [music] the incident. >> What happened? >> Um, we came in, grabbed a basket, um, filled it up, grabbed another basket, just her usual. I did not physically see her when she was on the floor. Haley, do you want to explain to him like the process today? She basically dropped from one basket came up this way and I know she was on this candle wall grabbing stuff and then she filled up that basket. She grabbed another one from over there and then went back to fill more and then she grabbed some gift sets on her way out >> and she had our wall flower wall. Um >> and you you physically saw this happen like all of us her like what she grabbed and everything. Obviously it's a lot so like >> All right. Um you mind if I get your information though since you actually witness it? Uh, you have an ID just to make it easier on me. >> All right. So, what time did you did you see her like come in and you see this occur? Just a ballpark. It doesn't have to be exact. >> I say I put 4:47 on the report. That's about when I told >> um my manager and supervisor she came in and they proceeded to call the police. >> Mhm. >> Um, police say she left 4 minutes after that. Mhm. So, probably like >> So, she did all of that in 4 minutes. >> Yeah, she's very quick. She'll It usually takes her longer now to walk out the door since she's pregnant than to come in and grab the stuff. >> Gotcha. So, at 4:47, she came in. She What did she do when she came in? >> So, she immediately grabs her basket and [clears throat] head straight to our regular candle wall. >> Um, she filled up that one with those candles and then she grabbed her second basket from over here >> without leaving. like she she had she was like the blinding I guess. >> Um she got that one. She went to the second candle wall and grabbed a few candles. >> Um and then our wallflower wall where she grabbed some of the fancy plugs up there. >> Shortly afterward, officers located the woman at a nearby store. At first, everything seemed routine, but they had no idea she was about to do something completely unexpected. What's the wild for? Why? Why you smacking me? >> Already? >> Yeah. >> Oh my. >> Are you pregnant? >> Yes. >> And you're doing all this stuff? >> I can't breathe, sir. Okay. >> Let me take off. Do you want me to talk? >> Yes, please. >> The woman's attempt to flee only reinforced the suspicion that she was guilty. Yet, after her escape failed, she immediately switched tactics, acting completely innocent, as if nothing had happened. >> Can you get my phone, please? >> This yours, mine. Put it in hers. >> Okay. >> Can you get my phone, please? >> Where'd you drop it? >> In the lake. Yeah. Oh, well. >> Where? >> Maybe you shouldn't ran. You should have thought of that. Yeah. >> What am I being charged with? >> We have two two charges pending for that. >> Two charges pending for that. >> Yeah. >> How do I have two charges pending for that? >> Well, that's like >> anything else in your pocket? >> No. >> Unless you want an extra charge, I'd suggest you start being honest. >> I don't have anything in my pocket. Like a checker. That's not an open line and a female yelling. Good. >> I have two. >> Well, how do I have two charges? >> We'll talk about something. >> All right. Sit in. >> We're going to have rescue come and check you out. Okay. >> How do I have two charges? Put your other leg in. >> What the hell? >> Turn off camera. >> In fact, this wasn't the woman's first shoplifting incident. The officer soon confronted her about an earlier case that had taken place on Friday the 13th. >> Friday the 13th. >> Friday, >> so a couple of days ago. >> You get to choose whichever one you want. >> You remember that day? >> Mhm. >> All right. >> Wait, Friday. >> This is Miss Friday the 13th. >> Did you go do bath and body work? >> She had a warrant for her arrest. So they spotted her and they were walking out with her. said no. >> So I already I have a warrant. >> So you you do understand you were caught on video inside the store on that day. >> Oh, you said was I in the store >> on Friday the 13. >> She said it's not very painful at all, but she wants to get checked out. officer is going to be >> because she is handcuff took 25 hospital $800 from >> I didn't pay no $25. >> You did not pay for any of that. >> I didn't take 25 pay for something. >> Again, you're on video. That's your answer. >> I didn't take 25. >> Did you take any candy? >> How about one? >> No. You still >> the woman was charged with retail theft. Every lie, excuse or failed attempt to escape may delay [music] accountability, but it cannot erase the truth. In the end, evidence speaks louder than words, and repeated bad choices only make the consequences more severe. >> Okay. But you said he got a stuff back. What did he get back? >> He pulled it off my arm. He didn't ask anything. He ripped off my arm. Ripped off my arm. >> The purple bag. >> Yeah, cuz my bike just got stolen 3 days ago. Okay. >> I do report back. >> On the 1st of July 2023, police responded to a call from a public store reporting that a woman had concealed merchandise in her bag and attempted to leave without paying. Officers approached her after she tried to flee. She immediately tried to portray herself as the victim. >> 1012 Mane and Coconut. >> Yeah. >> Hey, the reason why I'm here, did you um just come from Publix? >> Yeah. >> Just take anything. >> I think I just hurt my arm. >> Yeah. What happened? >> He grabbed it out of my arm. I was going to move my bike. Can you take a seat for me real quick, please? >> Yeah. He got his stuff back. >> All right. What? What did you try to take? >> I didn't take anything. I was getting my bike inside the store. >> Okay. Well, you said but you said he got a stuff back. What did he get back? >> He pulled it off my arm. He didn't ask anything cuz he ripped off my arm. >> He asked what I was doing or anything. >> Okay. What did you have in your hands that you >> I was Okay. I had a a cooler that I was telling for the beach. Okay. >> Okay. >> And he I was going to put my bike inside. >> Okay. >> Cuz see I'm in front. I just got the bike and just before my bike stole two three days ago and they gave it to the guy who stole it from me. >> Okay. I just report Vasquez. >> He gave my bike to this guy who I who I called on. >> So this time put my bike inside and I had the cooler. He didn't ask me to hand me the cooler. Nothing. He just ripped it out of my [ __ ] arm. He didn't ask me anything. What are you doing? >> Was it your cooler or cooler? >> It was a source cooler. That's all you have to do in there. >> What was in it? >> Just a salad or whatever. A salad and ginger ale and a shirt maybe. >> You asked me to give nothing. >> You ripped off my arm. She immediately tried to shift the investigation by claiming she had been assaulted. As the encounter continued, her behavior became increasingly confrontational and aggressive, quickly escalating the tension at the scene. >> Yeah, cuz my bike just got stolen 3 days ago. I zero records. I can't [ __ ] rip someone's I for assault, >> Natalie. >> I want to press for assault. >> Okay. All right. >> That is not cool. You say it's okay. That's not okay. >> Sit down. >> That is not okay. >> Okay. Well, I'll handle that. >> That is not okay. I already pissed me. That is not okay. >> We'll handle that after we handle that. >> That's not okay. That's the thing of your arm. That is not okay. >> That is not okay. See that? That big says it's okay for some guy to punch me the other day. It is okay for him to rip that off my damn arm. He said it's okay for him to rip the damn thing off my arm. I'm stealing. It is not okay for stealing. Okay. So, YOU ADMIT IT'S NOT OKAY. >> ESTABLISHED THAT. >> IT'S NOT OKAY. >> OKAY. ARE YOU DONE YELLING AT ME? >> YEAH. It's not okay to just rip IT OFF YOUR ARM. >> OKAY. It's not okay TO STEAL YOUR >> IT'S NOT OKAY. >> OKAY. >> Why are you yelling at that? >> Cuz he thinks it's okay. >> It's not okay. >> I've been abused so many times. It's unbelievable. You said it's okay, bro. I managed to rip the DMV on my arm. >> Don't go. >> Excuse me. >> Don't steal. >> I'm calling Jim, please, sir. That's my mom's boyfriend. He's the chief of police. I'm calling Jim. >> That's my mom's boyfriend, you [ __ ] I'm calling Jim. I'm calling >> Miss Natalie. Is it spelled N A T Aim? I'm calling Jim. >> Miss Natalie. >> My mom. My mom's going to text him right now. >> She completely ignored the officer's instructions. She even kept bringing up her relatives repeatedly as if they were the only leverage she had left. She kept repeating the story about her stolen bicycle, making every attempt by the officers to explain the situation completely pointless. >> Talk about that. >> So, my bike is I was trying to get swamp for the third time, especially the report 3 days ago. Okay. >> Okay. So, cooler. I just want to put my bike inside cuz we're going to keep going. Okay. I'm going to call my boyfriend I'm sorry. Okay. So, he didn't even ask me anything. He said, "Hey, can you give me that or what are you doing?" cuz I want I just want to move my bike quickly inside the store like inside the where the rain machine is at and he just pulled it right off my arm. He asked for nothing. He ripped it right out arm. >> Where were you when he grabbed it? >> Then they going out the thing right in the entryway when the way scales out. I see my bike was still there. >> You paid for it. >> No, I see my bike was still there and I saw I go pull inside. >> He took items and he walked out past the point of sale. >> I don't know if the point past sale is >> the way area is past point of sale. >> Yes. >> He ripped my freaking thing off my arm. >> But also you can't put it in your bag. What? It's not my bag. It was a cool the >> the the purple the purple. >> He [ __ ] ripped off my arm. He asked for anything. He ripped off my damn arm. >> No, he tried to leave the store. My plane was right there. I was in the waiting area. >> Meanwhile, another officer arrived at the scene and confirmed that the evidence supported the employees account. So, are we the one that I talked to? >> Yeah. Okay. Um, so, uh, we have her right now. Um, can you just tell me what what it >> Yeah. So, I got the list of all the stuff. But, um, we saw her in the deli starting to put stuff in her bag. >> Oh, you actually saw? >> Oh, yeah. I saw it with my eyes and then I watched her down aisle two completely packing full. That's when I called as soon as I saw that cuz I knew she was going to walk out. Okay. So, >> um, is there any way we can also get a um video of it as well >> to my cell phone and I'll upload it? >> Yeah. Okay. Um, let's see. What is uh um just wanted to make sure charges on this? >> Yes. >> Okay, perfect. >> Yeah. And trespass. >> Yep. >> Do you have her name? >> Um, I do not. I was actually going to get that right now. >> Okay. ain't a Walmart neighborhood. Mark, are we trusting? Um, >> if you have an idea, it's probably going to be the easiest. >> The woman was charged with theft, shoplifting under $750, and was formerally trespassed from the public's property. This case shows how quickly attempts to avoid responsibility can fall apart when evidence and witness accounts reveal what really happened. Staying calm and cooperating with the investigation is always a better choice than creating more conflict and drawing attention away from the facts. >> Belt that you have on as well. There's a plastic >> that too. >> Yeah, we were supposed to actually pay for that though, man. >> I'm sick. >> Are you okay? >> On the 31st of March 2024, loss prevention at a Walmart spotted 37year-old Lisa and 39-year-old Mingo pulling a fast one. Watch as they confidently walk toward the exit, completely oblivious to the officers already waiting right outside the doors. You got anything on your cover? Anything like that? >> No. Can I can I pat you down? Make sure you got no sir. Okay. Okay. >> You're just going to be detained for right now. All right. What am I being detained for? Suspicion that you're stealing. For what? Wait. suspicion. >> Can I search you and make sure you don't have anything any weapons on you? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Spread your feet for me. >> You got your wallet or ID on you? >> Yes, sir. Well, I don't have I don't have my >> I got I don't have my ID or nothing. >> You're alive, bro. >> That's not my ID. That's my buddies from work. James, >> why do you have your buddy's ID? >> Uh I work with him, man. And uh that's actually his wallet, but um I was carrying it today cuz uh he left it in New York. So >> when you when you going to stop lying? >> No, I'm serious. I'm I swear to God, man. >> Notice how Mingo stays remarkably calm, looking like a man who's been through this routine before, but his relaxed facade completely crumbles the moment officers pat him down and pull out the undeniable evidence of his lies. >> I'm like, man, I'm trying to go home, man. Like, let me go home. He was like, I got to go. >> So, is your ID in this wallet? No sir right now. >> Mr. Clamps, too. >> Yes, sir. Yes, sir. I heard you put it in my pocket. >> The belt that you have on as well. There's a plastic tap from here, too. >> Yeah, we were supposed to actually pay for that though, man. >> Okay. >> So, um >> we'll work through >> that. I I admit I did I did have it on, so >> we'll work through it. >> I apologize about that. What' you get for it? I just smoke every now and then or what? >> N it's just regular bubble gum. Bubblegum smoke, man. >> You said this this Yeah, look at that. Dude, you still got >> I know my pants are falling all the man. >> Oh [ __ ] Thank you. >> Mhm. >> The job completed. >> I'll put your pants up. I've been trying to hold my hold my pants up all the goddamn day, man. >> Meanwhile, Lisa being escorted back to the loss prevention office. She seems absolutely determined to play innocent, but the officers waste no time picking apart her messy story and exposing every single contradiction. >> Take this off. We're going to take the purses off. >> I paid for all my stuff. $540. Can I just call you? Where's your receipt? >> I haven't I was on the phone with her. It wouldn't go through and I had >> Can she just tell you she was paying for it? >> That's not how that works, though. Going to pay for it doesn't mean that you can leave the store. >> I was paying for it. It just wouldn't work on the damn thing. >> Okay. >> I can pay for it now. >> Did you conceal anything in your purses or bags? >> Just be straight up cuz we've got a lot of security. What's that? >> Everything I already had. >> I already I already told you that stuff in there was mine when I came in here. I paid $540 for that stuff. Not to mention $200 for the >> damn thing. >> Can you please help? >> All right. So, they watched you conceal items in your bag, so I'm going to retrieve those items. Okay. Do you have any other stolen property on your person? >> Yeah. Yep. Okay. >> Yeah. Mhm. >> Yep. This is stolen. Nice. All right. Stand up. >> Stand up. >> Hey, man. So, we can't have you eating and stuff like that while we're in our in our extension. So, we're going to put you in handcuffs for now. >> Stand up. >> You don't have to grab it like that. I will stand up. I will stand up. >> Place your hand on your back. You're just being detained with handcuffs for now. I'm just pinning a theft investigation again. >> My mom is going to pay for all of this. >> Okay. We'll we'll work through that. Okay. >> You can't tell me. I'm not trying to pay for my items. >> Okay. >> I have the money for you. >> Okay. So, we're going to work through. We're going to talk to the employees. We'll talk to all >> they watched you conceal items in your bag, which gives me reasons to go >> that cover stolen items. >> I have my tag that I sent. That's my shirt. It's my friend. >> The woman stubbornly denied the accusations against her, but due to her involvement with the man, officers suspected she was not telling the truth. Their suspicions deepened when issues also surfaced with the personal information she provided. >> How do you spell your last name? >> C A F M U N G I A. >> That's my baby daddy. >> First name, Heraldo. >> No, >> that's that's my brother. >> That's your brother? >> Sure. Your name's not Heraldo. >> That tire. That tire was >> Yeah, we already paid for the tire. >> The tire's not paid for. >> Yes, it is. >> No, I talked to that Brandon over there and it's not paid for. >> We paid for it. He did not. >> So, he was going to let us take the tire and bring him back. >> Yes, he did. >> And he's going to let us know what we did. >> I know, but he told you guys it didn't go through. >> No, he did not. He said we could handle this morning, ma'am. >> No, ma'am. No, ma'am. >> I mean, I'm not I'm not >> No, you're a liar. I'm not I'm not arguing with you. >> And I know that that came out of my baking cup already. Yeah. >> Yeah. I can show you. >> Hey, look at me. I got tattoos now. >> Turn your head that way. >> How long you had those tattoos on your face? >> About several years now. Couple years now. >> How many? How long? >> A couple years. >> Two years. >> Okay. Give us your real name and your full name. >> Give me your full real name. >> My name is Adamia. >> Adam, what's your middle name? I don't have I don't have names. Do >> you have like two last names? Lisa, I'm not asking you. >> You act like he's lying. I'm tired of it. >> Hey, do you have two two last names? Possibly. >> No, I'll go by too, but >> Okay. How do you spell that? >> Adamo. A R R E D O N G O. >> Okay. >> And will that be before or after Munia? Is that going to be Munia spaceond? >> Ardondo. >> Yeah. Okay. A quick database check reveals their extensive criminal histories spanning from assault to drug possession and mail theft. With that information in hand, officers had little doubt about how they were going to proceed. >> Yeah. So, I'm just going to let you know you're under arrest for theft. Okay. And that goes the same for you. You are under arrest for theft. >> That Adam subject, can you check out of Bell County? Suppose he was arrested for DWI a couple years back. He's got some 43 on there just to confirm his ID. I'm offering to pay for >> I'm offering to pay this. >> Okay, it'll go with you, but we're just gonna take this off. Okay, >> it'll go with you. >> Stop. Listen to me. >> I don't want that. >> Theft theft is a crime that involves a victim. The victim in this case wants to pursue charges. So, it's we're past that point. Got to talk to people at Walmart. >> They're right here. They want to pursue charges. >> I don't have to hold you up. >> Can you sit down? >> That's my prescription. >> Where's your prescription? >> I don't have the bottle. >> You're also in custody. I was asking control substance cuz this is obviously Xanax and a lot of >> That's my prescription. >> If they call this >> That's my prescription. >> Okay. Well, so so just so you know, if you're prescribed something, you're required to carry it in the prescribed pill box. Okay. with your the prescription on it, your name on it, and everything. When you're carrying it like that, that's illegal. >> I have 100% ID on there. >> By this point, every single escape route had been completely shut down. There's absolutely nothing they can say to change their fate now. And as you can see, not even the sudden tears can save them. The >> jail The jail is not going to take these, okay? And we're not going to hold them for safekeeping cuz they have batteries, so they're going to go in the trash. Same thing with your open perishable items, food and drinks. Same thing. Okay. So, do you understand that you're under arrest? >> Hey, stop. Do you understand that you're under arrest? >> I know that I'm mentally ill. I don't want to go to the mental hospital. >> You're not going to the mental hospital. >> You You can't tell me why I'm sick. [laughter] >> Are you okay? >> No, I'm not okay. I just lost my kids, man. >> Stop. I'll never again. >> Never assume a failed theft will have no consequences. Surveillance, evidence, and persistence from investigators can turn even the smallest lie into a much bigger problem. What do you think about cases like this?
